- 1:52Sean McAllister: I love getting all this fan mail.
- 1:55Dayna Roselli: It's great, right?
- 1:55Dayna Roselli: You can text us, by the way.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: It's in our show notes.
- 1:58Dayna Roselli: There's a link.
- 1:59Dayna Roselli: We don't see your phone number.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: If you want to write your name and where you're from, that helps.
- 2:04Dayna Roselli: We can't answer you, but we'll read your comments here on the podcast.
- 2:08Sean McAllister: And it's super easy.
- 2:09Sean McAllister: Once you click that link, it just pops open a little text screen, and all you have to do is type what you want us to read and hit send.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:18Sean McAllister: Super easy.
- 2:19Sean McAllister: And Kevin from South Carolina has been messaging us, which we love.
- 2:25Sean McAllister: And uh Kevin went to see Justin Timberlake with his wife.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: And you know, he said he's not a big concert goer.
- 2:31Dayna Roselli: He's actually only been to like five concerts his entire life.
- 2:35Sean McAllister: Well, Justin's a good one to add to the list.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: And he loved it.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: And you know, he said he didn't recognize all the songs, but it was a great blend.
- 2:43Dayna Roselli: He thought it was a blast.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: He loved some of the, you know, like acoustic renditions that he did.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: Uh he played uh the keyboard.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: Uh, he said he had great audience interaction, singing choreography, and he said that he would definitely see him if he had a show in Las Vegas.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: So I think good to hear.
- 2:59Sean McAllister: Yeah, it is good to hear.
- 3:00Sean McAllister: And Justin is kind of on that list of entertainers who like always comes up in a cycle for potentially being a Las Vegas headliner.
- 3:13Sean McAllister: And I know there have been some reports in the past that Justin doesn't want to do that and whatever, but I don't know.
- 3:20Sean McAllister: I think just as an all-around entertainer, he would be phenomenal and could actually pull in some decent crowds too.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: I think he'd have a great residency.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: You know, and when he performed at the Fountain Blue and we saw the show, we both really enjoyed it.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: And that it's a big venue, but it's not like huge, intimate.
- 3:39Sean McAllister: Intimate for sure, compared to arenas.
- 3:41Dayna Roselli: Right, like a theater.
- 3:42Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 3:43Dayna Roselli: You know, and I just loved it.
- 3:45Dayna Roselli: And it's interesting though, because when we posted about it, um, I didn't realize there were like so many haters out there.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: And ever since, uh, I see people sometimes uh write things, or I hear people say, like, oh, Justin, it's not he's not like he used to be.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: And he played T-Mobile here two nights in a row.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: Two nights, yeah.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: And people at Wednesday was fantastic.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: I mean, I find him very entertaining.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: He has hits, he can sing, he can dance.
- 4:11Dayna Roselli: His dancers are incredible.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: What are they called?
- 4:13Dayna Roselli: The Tennessee Kids.
- 4:14Sean McAllister: Well, that's his band.
- 4:15Sean McAllister: Oh.
- 4:16Sean McAllister: Justin Timberlake and the Tennessee Kids.
- 4:18Dayna Roselli: Oh, right, right, right.
- 4:18Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: So the dancers are separate.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: The dancers are amazing.
- 4:21Sean McAllister: They are.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: I think he'd have a great show.
- 4:24Dayna Roselli: So I think Kevin's right.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: And um, Kevin, let's let's get just JT come into Vegas and get a residency going.
- 4:32Sean McAllister: Get get your pull going, Kevin.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: I think he'd do well.
- 4:35Sean McAllister: He would do fantastic.
- 4:36Sean McAllister: I've seen him on tour several times.
- 4:38Sean McAllister: Like you said, we saw him at Fountain Blues opening, and he is always such a great entertainer.
- 4:45Sean McAllister: And even like his acting skills when he's on Saturday Night Live, like he's so funny, too.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: He really is.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: He's funny, and his drama films that he has, those are good too.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: I just recently watched one, I think it was on Netflix or something, and uh, he was really good in it.
- 4:59Sean McAllister: Yeah, but where he was like a school janitor or something, wasn't he?
- 5:03Dayna Roselli: I that might have been another one.
- 5:05Dayna Roselli: Uh that was yes, that one's on Apple TV.
- 5:08Dayna Roselli: I know what you're talking about.
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: Um, but there's another one recently that came out, and it's about a murder.
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: His girlfriend's murder, he's a realtor.
- 5:17Sean McAllister: Oh, you told me to watch that one, and I haven't watched it yet.
- 5:21Sean McAllister: I need to add that to the list.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: So anyway, yeah, you're right.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: He's he's got it all going for him.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: So good for him.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: But you know what?
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: He can have haters.
- 5:28Dayna Roselli: He just because, like, obviously, he's very successful.
- 5:33Dayna Roselli: I don't think he's worried.
- 5:34Sean McAllister: He's doing pretty good.
- 5:34Sean McAllister: And he has his annual golf tournament here over at Wynn.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: Also with uh Jimmy Fallon.
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he spends a lot of time here.
- 5:41Sean McAllister: He does.
- 5:42Sean McAllister: Well, let's make that more time.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: We're just putting it out into the universe, adding it to our Vegas revealed vision board, a JT residency.
- 5:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because let's get some fresh residencies here.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: I don't mind, I love that people return and take like a break, but I'm kind of like, okay, let's get something fresh in there.
- 6:01Sean McAllister: Some new stuff.
- 6:01Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:02Sean McAllister: Yes, that would be nice.
- 6:04Dayna Roselli: Speaking of that, Zook Nightclub and Dre's Nightclub just announced that they're doing this unprecedented shared residency with rapper Lil Wayne.
- 6:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this is uh kind of unique as far as performers go here in Las Vegas.
- 6:19Sean McAllister: We don't usually see performers popping up at multiple venues on the Las Vegas strip, but that's exactly what Zook and Dre's are doing with this partnership through uh June and July.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's kind of cool, right?
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: Um I love that Lil Wayne is doing this and having like a spot in Las Vegas because he's here so much.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: Um, he's you know, in case you don't know who Lil Wayne is, you know, he's got songs like Lollipop and Got Money and Six Foot, Seven Foot.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: You'll know those songs.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: Um, he's got five Grammy Awards and you know, just a long history of collaborations.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: Uh, he won the 2024 BET Award for best male hip hop artist, best and best group with fellow rap artist Two Chain.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: So anyway, he has a following, he has hits, and I think this is gonna be great.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: So he'll be at Zook Nightclub and then also at Dre's Nightclub back and forth.
- 7:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, so uh the first performances are going to take place.
- 7:16Sean McAllister: Uh the first one at Dre's on Saturday, June 29th.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: Then he'll be over at Zook on July 12th.
- 7:24Sean McAllister: Being up there, he's gonna do all of his greatest hits, mix in some new music too.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: This is cool.
- 7:29Sean McAllister: Good for Lil Wayne, good for Zook, good for Dre's, spreading the love.
- 7:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, something new.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: All right, well, speaking of shows that are new, Disco Show is coming to the Las Vegas strip.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: We talked about this in the past, it's from Spiegel World.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: They have Absinthe and Atomic Saloon and Super Frico.
- 7:50Sean McAllister: And Super Frico, right?
- 7:53Dayna Roselli: And now they have been working over there at the link to get this disco show going, and we finally have a date.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: September 7th is the official world premiere date, but they're doing some preview performances in August.
- 8:07Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this is gonna be really interesting.
- 8:10Sean McAllister: So they're not doing this show in a traditional theater venue.
- 8:17Sean McAllister: Um, if you're familiar with the Link Hotel and before that, um Imperial Palace.
- 8:23Sean McAllister: Imperial Palace.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: I think it was something before that after that, too, for like a hot minute.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: It was the quad.
- 8:28Dayna Roselli: The quad.
- 8:29Sean McAllister: It was Imperial Palace, then the quad, then the Link.
- 8:32Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:32Sean McAllister: The quad didn't last for long.
- 8:34Dayna Roselli: No, that was a blip on the radar.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: But if you remember back to the Imperial Palace days, there was a big sports book, and that's been kind of walled off ever since Imperial Palace shut down.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: Um, and that is the space that is being transformed into the disco show venue.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:53Sean McAllister: I'm excited to see what they do with it.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: Well, and like we were just saying, something fresh, something new.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: We don't really have like I'm trying to think, a disco themed show.
- 9:04Dayna Roselli: Or have or have had have we have we had one?
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: I mean, we have had venues like Studio 54.
- 9:11Sean McAllister: Right, which hasn't been around for a hot minute over at MGM Grand.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: But this is gonna be something different, something fresh, and I'm sure it'll be quirky, as Speagle World does best.
- 9:23Dayna Roselli: Um, but let me read from the kind of description.
- 9:25Dayna Roselli: It says it's gonna be an experience that will propel guests into the disco era of the 70s and beyond.
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: Disco show will also boast a New York style diner, Diner Ross, two new bars, 99 Price and Glitter Loft, and an all-star Tony Award-nominated creative team from Broadway, West End, Saturday Night Live, and more.
- 9:51Sean McAllister: I mean, this should be fantastic.
- 9:54Sean McAllister: So you will be able to make dinner reservations along with you know, seeing all the entertainment that's going on around you.
- 10:03Sean McAllister: So I mean this sounds like it sounds great, a great night.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: So we wanted to let you know that it's opening September 7th, but that they are doing these previews that are gonna start August 14th.
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: And sometimes that's really fun to go see the previews because your opinion and your thoughts matter on how they tweak the show.
- 10:22Sean McAllister: It is.
- 10:22Sean McAllister: So if you go to preview shows, the fun thing is to go back, I don't know, a few months down the line and see what's changed.
- 10:30Sean McAllister: Because it's not going to be the same show.
- 10:32Sean McAllister: No, it's undoubtedly things change from previews until they, you know, nail down their format.
- 10:38Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: So I just clicked on the website and it says uh arrives August 14th, Wednesday to Sunday at 7 p.m.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: and 9 30 p.m.
- 10:47Dayna Roselli: Uh so though that's the preview.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: So if you want to get on and buy some tickets and get in on that, it's uh spiegelworld.com and then backslash disco show.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: You'll see it in the menu tab.
- 10:59Sean McAllister: And tickets for these preview shows are uh 99 bucks.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: We looked at the calendar to see what they were going for, and that's what's coming up.
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: It doesn't look like it's more or less, so you know, nice even number, probably for the previews.
- 11:13Sean McAllister: Well, we have uh needed to dry ourselves out and detox.
- 11:19Sean McAllister: Detox, do some extra walking because there was one heck of a culinary week here in Las Vegas.
- 11:27Dayna Roselli: There were so many different events, like we couldn't even keep up with it.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: So we picked three that we could go to and love them all.
- 11:35Dayna Roselli: The first one was over at the Venetian in the colonnade, this long-table dinner.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: It was spectacular.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: A number of chefs took part in this dinner, and it was like a fairy tale.
- 11:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, go to our uh Vegas Revealed YouTube channel and um after this weekend, uh look at our latest uh Vegas Revealed TV show.
- 11:57Sean McAllister: We have the video from this dinner.
- 11:59Sean McAllister: It was absolutely stunning.
- 12:01Sean McAllister: I mean, that's the word that I keep going back to because it was just breathtaking.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: I mean, we had wine and different champagnes paired with every course.
- 12:10Sean McAllister: Six course meal.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: We at um, you know, ate on in the colonnade.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: And also, and I always forget if we've mentioned this, but I don't think so.
- 12:17Dayna Roselli: I think we mentioned this on the TV show.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: Um, I first of all, um, you know, I know a lot of Las Vegas visitors go in that way to check in at the Venetian, but a lot of locals come in from the parking garage and we actually forget about the colonnade.
- 12:32Dayna Roselli: We don't walk to it or by it or through it because we're coming from the back end.
- 12:37Sean McAllister: Because unless you're going to the front desk, there's not really a reason to go there.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: But go, it's stunning.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: Take pictures, all of that.
- 12:44Sean McAllister: It's beautiful.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: It really is.
- 12:46Dayna Roselli: It was a great dinner.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: Uh, we saw that Wolfgang Puck was doing a dish at the dinner, and so we said, Hey, can we talk to Wolfgang?
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: And they said, Let's see if we can make that happen.
- 12:57Dayna Roselli: So we got a nice one-on-one exclusive interview with Wolfgang.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: We pulled him aside.
- 13:02Dayna Roselli: And Sean, you talked to him about a number of things.
- 13:05Sean McAllister: Yeah, and you know, he is one of the, well, not one of, he is the OG celebrity chef here in Las Vegas.
- 13:12Sean McAllister: It was back in the early 90s when Wolfgang first came here.
- 13:16Sean McAllister: So I one of the things we wanted to talk to him about is the culinary evolution that he has seen take place here in Las Vegas.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: It's so different than it was 30 years ago or even 20 years ago.
- 13:28Sean McAllister: And what are the biggest changes that that you have personally seen on the culinary scene here in Las Vegas?
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Well, I think when you look, every hotel now has great restaurants, you know.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Um many owned by well-known chefs, epidemics.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: So I think it changed so much that before we came here, but we've made some audio came in for free, and now you have really fine-lining restaurants.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: And what do you see for the future moving forward from here another 10 20, 30 years?
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Well, I think they're gonna be more restaurants because I believe that the scene of the hotel is one to keep the customer on company.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: So if you have the hotel here and you want to have your uh plenty of stay at your hotel, you better feed them great food and have good wines and coffee.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: You can describe uh what you're serving tonight.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Alright, since we have cut here at uh the palazzo, and cut these beef and mixed out in uh Las Vegas for Job, maybe in America, and we're discovering three kinds of beef.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: So everybody's gonna get a taste of Japanese Miyazaki beef, then we're gonna have uh stone ox from Australia, and then we're gonna have Snake River from so basically you could say the best beef from three continents.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it was delicious.
- 14:58Sean McAllister: So good.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: Go to our social media, go to our TV show to see it.
- 15:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was uh just the perfect sampling.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: And we also, uh, Chef Thomas Keller was one of the other chefs taking part in this dinner.
- 15:12Sean McAllister: He is the one who uh runs the famous French laundry up in uh Napa.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: You know, if you're a wine person and you go up to Napa, you definitely know French laundry.
- 15:22Sean McAllister: Um, also Chef Wakuda, who also has a restaurant over at uh the Venetian Resort.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: And then when we think back to Wolfgang, I was thinking Spago, it's the forum shops when it was there.
- 15:33Dayna Roselli: I was literally a regular for lunch because my best friend, Matt Goss, was a you know resident performer there.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: So we'd all meet there for lunch at least once a week.
- 15:42Dayna Roselli: And then he moved over to Bellagio, and so that's still there.
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: And then he also had this spot when I lived at Veer, which is right attached to Aria.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: I used to live in a high rise there.
- 15:53Dayna Roselli: He had an amazing restaurant in Crystals because it was like a casual kind of lunch dinner spot.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: Oh and uh best the best sandwiches.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: I loved his sandwiches there.
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, he's excellent.
- 16:07Dayna Roselli: And then cut, I have only had the honor of eating at once, and it was for a friend's wedding, and the steak was out of this world.
- 16:13Dayna Roselli: So I mean, he's just he's fabulous.
- 16:15Sean McAllister: I I need to get over to Cut.
- 16:17Sean McAllister: Yeah, and he has a new restaurant that opened over at uh Mandalay Bay as well.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: Oh, right, just recently.
- 16:26Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 16:27Sean McAllister: Um, that's the one that was inspired by like his mo his mother's cooking.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 16:32Sean McAllister: An Italian spot that he opened over there.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: Oh, so and you know, we said this in the TV show.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: Wolfgang's just so cool.
- 16:38Sean McAllister: He's great.
- 16:39Dayna Roselli: He's the coolest guy, right?
- 16:41Sean McAllister: I mean, he's the kind of guy who you're like, you know what, Wolfgang, let's just go on a ski vacation in the Swiss Alps.
- 16:49Sean McAllister: I feel like he would be perfectly at home in that kind of setting.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: Let's have some hot toddies by the fire and discuss life, right?
- 16:57Sean McAllister: Wolfgang is great.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he is.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: Um, that was an excellent dinner at the Venetian.
- 17:01Dayna Roselli: We also did a lunch over at Wing Lee over at the Wynn.
- 17:05Dayna Roselli: That was fabulous.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: There were several different chefs from uh Wing, or excuse me, Win Wing, I'm mixing Wing and Win.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: Wynn Palace and Wyn Macau, and then Wynn Las Vegas, and they had a menu that they presented to us, and it was called East Meets Best.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: That was a great lunch.
- 17:24Sean McAllister: And then to kick it all or to wrap it all up, I should say, uh, we went to the feast, which was also over at Wynn, out at their pavilion and event lawn, which is another stunning location that a lot of people don't get to experience.
- 17:39Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 17:40Sean McAllister: Um, and that was just I mean, there were so many food stations.
- 17:44Sean McAllister: There were four different concepts or food concepts, um, but then there were multiple food stations within each concept as you moved around.
- 17:55Sean McAllister: Um, Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, was there because there was a big barbecue section.
- 18:02Sean McAllister: Oh, that food was great, and all of the meat came from his ranch.
- 18:05Dayna Roselli: That four sixes.
- 18:07Dayna Roselli: The meat was great, but that potato salad.
- 18:09Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, that was so good.
- 18:11Dayna Roselli: Potato salad is my weakness.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: It's so good.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, all of that food.
- 18:18Dayna Roselli: And then you're right.
- 18:18Dayna Roselli: I mean, we just we went around and sampled different things.
- 18:22Dayna Roselli: Um it was that was magical.
- 18:24Dayna Roselli: Like just, you know, the lawn, the the pavilion, the entertainment, the different pop-ups, the desserts, the drinks.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: We had some great espresso marchettinis.
- 18:37Sean McAllister: Some of the best ever.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: What was that um alcohol that they used?
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: I forget.
- 18:41Sean McAllister: It was called like um it was a cold, it was a cold brew.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: Cloud?
- 18:47Sean McAllister: Cloud cold brew?
- 18:49Dayna Roselli: I don't think so.
- 18:51Sean McAllister: I feel like there was something with a cloud and a cold brew involved.
- 18:55Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 18:57Sean McAllister: Cumulus?
- 18:58Sean McAllister: Cumulus! I knew it had something to do with a cloud.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: Cumulus clouds.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: You're doing a weather report.
- 19:04Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 19:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know there were too many things, like so many things that it was just that was magical night as well.
- 19:09Dayna Roselli: Just the lights strung up, the different um seating that they had, the road to Tulum.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: Oh, it was so much fun.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: And, you know, that was part of Revelry, which was kind of like the Winds Food Festival.
- 19:21Dayna Roselli: Indulge was over at Resorts World.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: I hear that was fabulous.
- 19:25Dayna Roselli: Tons of mixology classes and food pop-ups.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: But um, I know they want to bring back Revelry and they might do it.
- 19:32Dayna Roselli: They they did it this time of year in conjunction with the world's 50 best that were in town, but that won't probably be here next year.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: So I'm hearing that revelry they want to have every year, but they might move it to a different month.
- 19:44Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:45Sean McAllister: So it's a little bit cooler.
- 19:46Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 19:46Sean McAllister: Even though the weather, I mean, it ended up being a beautiful night.
- 19:49Sean McAllister: It was warm, but not too hot by any means.
- 19:53Sean McAllister: So I mean, well done to all of the Las Vegas chefs, uh, restaurant employees, everyone who produced the events.
- 20:04Sean McAllister: It really was an incredible week.
- 20:06Sean McAllister: I know a lot of people um made it to a lot of events uh throughout the the course of these few days.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: Um it really was a great time to have the culinary spotlight shining on Las Vegas, though, and to show the rest of the world and food journalists too, who by the way, many came from uh international locations, and to show uh people in other parts of the world that we really do have some good things going on here in Las Vegas food wise.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: We do.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: And you know, we get a lot of questions in our DMs, and one that we've frequently gotten lately is speaking of food, I know it's a different kind of culinary, but uh Margaritaville.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: People are like, when's Margaritaville closing?
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: Well, it's closed.
- 20:52Sean McAllister: It's closed now.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: We went over there, saw the sign out front, closed for business.
- 20:58Sean McAllister: Um, it is still not announced yet what is going to take the place of Margaritaville, which is a big space.
- 21:07Sean McAllister: It's right on the corner of the Flamingo, um, right at the entrance to the Link Promenade there on Las Vegas Boulevard, a two-story restaurant.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: It's been open since I moved here.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, for a long time.
- 21:19Sean McAllister: And they used to have the girl who would erupt from the volcano at the bar down on the main level.
- 21:26Sean McAllister: She would go down a slide into a big blender and then get whooshed around inside of a blender and then get fished out by a giant fishing hook.
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: Really?
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: I don't remember that.
- 21:36Sean McAllister: Oh, this was great.
- 21:37Sean McAllister: It was quite the experience to behold.
- 21:42Sean McAllister: Um, but anyway, that's not happening anymore because Margaritaville's closed.
- 21:46Sean McAllister: We don't know for sure what's going in there.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: There have been rumors about, you know, a country bar, a bunch of stuff, but nothing official.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: No, nothing official.
- 21:56Dayna Roselli: But GR Burger is actually opening at the Flamingo.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Go.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: And that's going to have an amazing patio overlooking Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: And that's going to occupy the former bird bar.
- 22:09Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:09Sean McAllister: And that had uh, you know, an opening right there to Las Vegas Boulevard as well.
- 22:14Sean McAllister: But um Gordon Ramsay Burger is taking over a big footprint inside of Flamingo as well, and uh for good reason because Gordon Ramsay Burger has been open at Planet Hollywood for years now, and there is always a line wrapped around the outside of that restaurant.
- 22:36Sean McAllister: You walk in from the strip and you see this big line of people, they're all waiting for burgers.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: And listen, the burgers are not cheap there.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: We'll just put it out there, but I feel like it's kind of worth it.
- 22:47Sean McAllister: It is.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: They are delicious burgers, and if you get fries, spring for the truffle fries too, because those are delicious.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: You like those.
- 22:56Sean McAllister: And I believe I I don't think that they have taken this off the menu.
- 23:02Sean McAllister: They have uh push-pops uh that are a cold version of Gordon Ramsey's famous sticky toffee pudding.
- 23:11Sean McAllister: Oh, really?
- 23:11Sean McAllister: Remember the push-pops that you used to get as a kid?
- 23:13Sean McAllister: Push-ups.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: Cardboard from I'd get them from Ken the Ice Cream Man.
- 23:17Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: So they came up with a concept that had the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream in it, so you eat it like a push-pop.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, that's interesting and different.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: See, that's what makes him unique.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: You know, he's always thinking of different things.
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: That Gordon.
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: He's a guy, I tell you.
- 23:33Dayna Roselli: He's funny.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: Well, this is gonna be his um seventh restaurant at Caesars Entertainment's Las Vegas Resorts, and the fifth Gordon Ramsey burger location.
- 23:44Sean McAllister: Good on Gordon.
- 23:45Sean McAllister: He's always expanding his empire.
- 23:47Sean McAllister: So uh stay tuned.
- 23:49Sean McAllister: That is still under construction, not open yet, but that is coming soon over at Flamingo.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: At a prime location.
- 23:55Dayna Roselli: I mean, think about that.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: If there's lines inside to get there and then the patio over.
- 24:00Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, that's gonna be so it's like already printing money to be Gordon Ramsay.
- 24:06Sean McAllister: No kidding.
- 24:08Sean McAllister: I mean, I need to, I've had conversations before, and I've heard how much his restaurants make.
- 24:16Sean McAllister: And I'll need to get some official numbers so that we can chat about it here.
- 24:20Sean McAllister: But it is mind-blowing.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: I bet.
- 24:23Sean McAllister: Mind-blowing.
- 24:24Sean McAllister: Well deserved.
- 24:25Sean McAllister: I mean, he's he's built quite the quite the name for himself, and you know, capitalize on it.
- 24:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 24:32Sean McAllister: If you got it, he works hard.
- 24:34Dayna Roselli: Hey, here's something that's coming to Caesar's Palace in the forum shops that's kind of new and different.
- 24:40Dayna Roselli: It's gonna open on June 22nd, and it's called Electric Playhouse.
- 24:45Dayna Roselli: And this is a social gaming destination, is what they're calling it.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: And this is becoming a little bit more popular, a lot of these kind of immersive, digital, you know, interactive attractions.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: But this sounds really cool.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: It's gonna merge the digital and physical worlds into one through apparently dozens of motion-activated games and experiences.
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: And I was looking through some of the pictures because it's not open yet, and it looks really cool.
- 25:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, so I mean, just kind of imagine this.
- 25:17Sean McAllister: Your body becomes the game controller.
- 25:20Sean McAllister: So the movements that you make have an impact on what happens in the game that you're playing.
- 25:27Sean McAllister: So, I mean, it just with the boom of gaming and you know, there is an entire generation who are now adults who grew up playing video games.
- 25:37Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 25:38Sean McAllister: And, you know, even kids now are playing video games instead of going out and riding their bikes and, you know, playing until the streetlights come on.
- 25:47Sean McAllister: That's kind of a thing of the past.
- 25:49Sean McAllister: So this is the kind of experience that I have a feeling we're going to be seeing more of here in Las Vegas as we cater to generations who've grown up on this stuff.
- 25:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and here are the details.
- 26:00Dayna Roselli: It's located on the terrace level next to Sushi Roku at the forum shops.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: Hours of operation will be 10 a.m.
- 26:07Dayna Roselli: to 9 p.m.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: Sunday through Thursday, and then 10 a.m.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: to 10 p.m.
- 26:10Dayna Roselli: on Friday and Saturday.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: So it's open late.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: Visitors should check online for availability because uh there's gonna be a lot of demand, and then also private events, so they want to make sure that you book a slot.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: They do have also um a deal for if you bring your kids uh three and under, they're free.
- 26:29Dayna Roselli: And then um children's four to twelve and seniors sixty-five and up, and military personnel and Nevada locals uh all get a certain discount.
- 26:40Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 26:41Dayna Roselli: Okay, so keep that in mind.
- 26:42Dayna Roselli: So yeah, I mean, they're you know, it's for everyone.
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: It's electricplayhouse.com if you're interested in learning more.
- 26:48Dayna Roselli: And I know they're gonna have the these like uh dining themed, upscale-themed dining experiences that they're gonna bring on as well.
- 26:56Dayna Roselli: And I think that's soon after the opening, but not right at June 22nd.
- 27:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it'll be kind of like an interactive uh dining experience where there's projections on the table and things come to life in front of you, and you know, there's little characters that might interact with your plate and silverware.
- 27:14Sean McAllister: And so it's a really cool idea.
- 27:17Sean McAllister: Again, electric playhouse opening June 22nd, and then the dining concept will be coming along a little bit after that opening date as well.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: All right, well, let's do some tips.
- 27:31Sean McAllister: While we were over at uh the Venetian resort for um, you know, this incredible culinary week that we talked about earlier.
- 27:39Sean McAllister: Uh we're walking back to the parking garage, and we passed a table game that had a sign set up next to it, and they offer free table game lessons.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I was like, oh, I didn't know about this.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: And I feel like maybe a lot of other casinos do this.
- 27:55Dayna Roselli: I don't know, but we were specifically at the Venetian, and the sign said that they have craps table lessons, which craps is very difficult to learn.
- 28:05Sean McAllister: I still I cannot even begin to wrap my brain around it.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: Me either.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: They have the Monday through Friday at 11 a.m.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: And it said learn the exciting game of craps.
- 28:15Dayna Roselli: And so you can go over and get some lessons, which I think is really helpful, and why not promote, you know, teach people how to play so that they spend their money.
- 28:24Sean McAllister: Well, and I will tell you what, there is nothing.
- 28:28Sean McAllister: Well, I won't say nothing.
- 28:30Sean McAllister: One of the things that is very intimidating to me on a gaming floor is to go and play table games because I feel like everyone else at the table already knows exactly what they're going to do, how to play the game.
- 28:45Sean McAllister: And I'm not well-versed in table games.
- 28:48Sean McAllister: I am very well-versed in slot machines and electronic games.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: So to have this kind of thing offered, I think is a real it's a benefit because I need this in my life.
- 29:03Sean McAllister: And I know a lot of people do.
- 29:04Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 29:04Dayna Roselli: It makes people feel more confident, right?
- 29:06Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 29:07Dayna Roselli: So when you're getting out there um to play something like that.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, I've always been the just I go along with a friend and I roll on the roller.
- 29:15Sean McAllister: Right.
- 29:15Dayna Roselli: But I feel like even when you're the roller, there's a lot of pressure.
- 29:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:18Dayna Roselli: There is.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: So if you want to learn how to play craps, the Venetian casino floor, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m., they will teach you, and the lessons are free.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: So that's a tip.
- 29:29Sean McAllister: Love it.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: Uh, how about saving some money?
- 29:32Sean McAllister: Circus Olay is offering summer discounts to uh select shows up to 20% off their ticket prices.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, this is a good deal.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: And I actually just got it to my inbox after I had written this up, uh, some of our notes, um, saying, hey, we're doing this offer.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: But here's the deal um you have to purchase before, so it's June 11th to the 17th.
- 29:56Dayna Roselli: So we're already into the 11th, but it goes until June 17th.
- 29:59Dayna Roselli: So you have to purchase then.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: But you can go to shows and select performances through December 20th, 2024.
- 30:08Dayna Roselli: So you can look at the calendar up to December 20th.
- 30:11Dayna Roselli: You just have to buy it before June 17th.
- 30:14Sean McAllister: So plan ahead a little bit.
- 30:15Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 30:15Sean McAllister: If you have a Vegas trip coming up, this is a great thing to do.
- 30:19Sean McAllister: Book your show now for less.
- 30:21Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: So here are the shows, uh, five of the Cirques resident productions, including O, which is amazing, Michael Jackson 1, fabulous.
- 30:31Dayna Roselli: That's at Mandalay, O is at Bellagio, Ka at MGM Grand, Matt Apple at New York, New York, and then Myster at Treasure Island.
- 30:39Dayna Roselli: So all those shows are on sale, and you'll get from 20 to 35% off tickets.
- 30:45Dayna Roselli: You just need to browse around and see it's 20% off uh MJ1, 30% off Ka, 35% off Mad Apple, and Mystere.
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: And so there you have it.
- 30:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, so that's a great deal.
- 30:59Sean McAllister: These are all phenomenal shows.
- 31:01Sean McAllister: You can't go wrong.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: Anyone that you choose.
- 31:04Sean McAllister: So um also, just kind of on the Cirque du Soleil note, um, we are going to attend the final performance of The Beatles Love by Cirque du Soleil over at the Mirage.
- 31:17Sean McAllister: The final show is July 7th.
- 31:19Sean McAllister: So we're gonna be over there.
- 31:20Sean McAllister: I have a feeling it's gonna be really emotional.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: I think so too.
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: It's such a long-running show, and the music is so good, and the cast has been together for a long time.
- 31:29Dayna Roselli: I know people come and go and they make changes.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: All the kids are in the show.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: It is gonna be, it's gonna be emotional.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: Speaking of emotional, um, Celine Dion actually went to see Love recently and it reminded me, and I know you still got to watch the interview, but it because it was on late, it was at 10 p.m.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: Um, I watched Hoda interview her about her documentary that's coming out on Prime.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: And in it, they did address, you know, her resorts world residency that she was supposed to kick off that never happened because of her ailment.
- 32:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, the stiff person syndrome.
- 32:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and she talks uh in detail about how that has affected her life, how it has changed her life.
- 32:07Dayna Roselli: You really felt for her it was heartbreaking, but she's also a fighter.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, she wants to get through this.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: And and you know, Hoda was saying to her, like, you know, there's no, is there a cure for this?
- 32:18Dayna Roselli: And she kept saying, Not yet.
- 32:20Dayna Roselli: Not at this present moment, but that's you know, she kept putting her finger up, not yet.
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: Like she is, you know, hopeful that there will be a full cure for something like this.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: They're working on it.
- 32:31Dayna Roselli: And um, you know, when they when Hoda asked her, she, you know, wants to get up on stage, she wants to get up on stage for her fans.
- 32:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she's not ready to be done, but she said it has to be when she feels uh good enough to do it.
- 32:44Sean McAllister: Right.
- 32:44Sean McAllister: And I think that's what we've said all along.
- 32:47Sean McAllister: Um you know, that's what we've assumed all along throughout her uh dealing with this with this stiff person syndrome, um, is that she is the kind of entertainer who when she steps on stage, she wants to know that she is in control of herself and her performance so that she can deliver the absolute best for her audience.
- 33:10Sean McAllister: Right.
- 33:11Sean McAllister: That's what she uh wants to put out into the world is her absolute best.
- 33:16Sean McAllister: So I fingers crossed, it seems like she's on the right path with the treatments that she's receiving and the things that she's doing to prepare herself to get back to that place.
- 33:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but she did point out that uh two things trigger are like these spasms.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: And so this is the difficult part.
- 33:34Dayna Roselli: Um like emotion, like even touching, and then also um, so it's basically she was saying if she works too hard, it could trigger it, but if she doesn't work enough, also triggers it.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: So it's like two completely, you know, different ends.
- 33:51Dayna Roselli: And so I think it's her trying to figure out where is that middle ground where I can consistently, you know, and people say, Oh, we've seen her out and about though.
- 34:01Dayna Roselli: She was, you know, at love, she's been at hockey games, we saw her at Katy Perry's last show.
- 34:05Dayna Roselli: She can go out and about.
- 34:07Dayna Roselli: This is affecting her voice, but also if she does have an episode, you know, it it's hard.
- 34:14Dayna Roselli: And so her big thing is to stay in the middle.
- 34:17Sean McAllister: Well, and I did see uh one of the clips leading up to the um leading up to that interview where she said that one of her body spasms was so bad that it actually broke a rib from the muscle contraction that was that was happening.
- 34:31Sean McAllister: So it's definitely affecting like her her vocal cord and her her singing ability, but it's like her entire body that goes into spasms too.
- 34:41Sean McAllister: So and who knows, maybe being out and about is part of that middle ground where she needs to stay active and be up doing things without pushing herself too hard.
- 34:51Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 34:51Dayna Roselli: Well, and and they were also saying, like in the documentary trailer, it's like, you know, you're there, like you look tired, you're not, you know, you don't have makeup on in a lot of the scenes.
- 35:01Dayna Roselli: She's like, it's not even about that anymore.
- 35:03Dayna Roselli: Like that is so unimportant to me.
- 35:05Dayna Roselli: It's it's now it's about getting healthy and how I feel.
- 35:08Dayna Roselli: So it's like that's totally and her, you know, her kids just prioritize.
- 35:11Dayna Roselli: She's like, listen, I love my pajamas.
- 35:13Dayna Roselli: I wear them every day, they're my favorite.
- 35:15Dayna Roselli: Like she has her pajamas, you know, she was very honest.
- 35:19Dayna Roselli: And um, so I don't necessarily know if this is a tip, but you know, her documentary is coming out.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: Um, and if you get a chance and you're you're wanting to follow Celine and where she is currently on the the progress of her recovery, you might want to look up that interview.
- 35:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, and that documentary, uh I am Celine Dion comes out June 24th.
- 35:38Sean McAllister: Uh it's an Amazon documentary.
- 35:40Sean McAllister: Um, I know that there are screenings happening across the country on June 17th, also.
- 35:47Sean McAllister: Um I actually we didn't talk about this yet, but um there was a link that Celine put out.
- 35:53Sean McAllister: Oh, good.
- 35:54Sean McAllister: So um there were you could reserve tickets to go to these screenings across the country.
- 36:00Sean McAllister: So good.
- 36:01Sean McAllister: I got a couple tickets to that.
- 36:02Dayna Roselli: Good, great.
- 36:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so that's uh that's episode 225.
- 36:07Dayna Roselli: Thank you to all our subscribers.
- 36:09Dayna Roselli: We appreciate you so much.
