- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Bea Tilly and Tanya rad and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two times People's Choice Award winning podcast Hello everybody,
- 0:13Speaker 1: we are scrubbing in the heartbeat. I thought it made
- 0:19Speaker 1: me think of the video the Gray's Anatomy said.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Were you proud of me? But when I did that? Yeah?
- 0:26Speaker 1: But did you hear that I put the sound in there?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yeah? It was cute. The way you whipped out that
- 0:31Speaker 2: video was real.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Have a vision, it can happen quick, mart. Did you
- 0:38Speaker 1: say we went to the Grays Anatomy set?
- 0:40Speaker 3: You know, I must have missed that, but I I
- 0:42Speaker 3: know you went. I do know that you went, that
- 0:45Speaker 3: you were going, and that was we did.
- 0:47Speaker 1: You know. What's so crazy is like, I we have
- 0:51Speaker 1: so much to talk about today.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I know, Well, where do we begin with it?
- 0:55Speaker 1: Well, let's just start here, since we found a way
- 1:00Speaker 1: to intro a topic. I literally can remember seeing images
- 1:07Speaker 1: from cake cutting episodes like the significant episode count Gray's
- 1:11Speaker 1: Anatomy always does like a cake cutting celebration, and I
- 1:15Speaker 1: can remember seeing them on like people dot com before
- 1:17Speaker 1: social media. I would check like people dot com to
- 1:19Speaker 1: see what the celebs were doing, and I would just
- 1:22Speaker 1: be like wow, how cool to be at a cake
- 1:24Speaker 1: cutting ceremony for Grey's Anatomy.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Flash forward to twenty twenty five.
- 1:29Speaker 1: So four hundred and fifty episode later, we finally made it.
- 1:34Speaker 3: That's amazing. So was the whole cast there?
- 1:37Speaker 2: In fact, they were not all there, however, a big
- 1:41Speaker 2: portion of that wow.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Like.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'd say like seventy percent.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And what's interesting is we've met I would.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Say ninety percent of that seventy yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 3: So they were happy to see you and they knew you,
- 1:52Speaker 3: and you felt welcomed totally, not like intruders at all.
- 1:55Speaker 2: No, no, not what we belonged.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Actually, they're kind of like, oh, there they are again.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah, like this makes sense.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I think what can say, like the co star.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Like it's unofficial something.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Unofficial cast members. Yes, and that's what she realizes. We
- 2:12Speaker 1: have yet to be extras on the show.
- 2:13Speaker 3: But I do think you don't watch anymore? I do,
- 2:17Speaker 3: you know, I'd.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Like to pick a bone with you, because just because
- 2:23Speaker 2: I do not watch it right now does not mean
- 2:25Speaker 2: that I do not have loyalty and love for the
- 2:28Speaker 2: community that this show has brought to me into my life.
- 2:32Speaker 2: So the next time you pooh pooh me, I'm gonna
- 2:34Speaker 2: pooh pooh you right back.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Wow, Well you can watch this Thursday when the new
- 2:38Speaker 3: season starts.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I will not.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I'm actually I'm back in it. I am back in it.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Pretty hardcore, but it is exciting because it was so exciting.
- 2:50Speaker 2: We got to see the post it.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It was on set. Yeah, and they took a group
- 2:54Speaker 1: of us back to the props room with the prop
- 2:57Speaker 1: master and she was explaining, showing things about like just
- 3:00Speaker 1: how you know, the props work and whatnot. And she goes,
- 3:03Speaker 1: oh and this and brings out the post it that's framed,
- 3:06Speaker 1: you know, the post.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a big deal.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Is a big, big deal. And the sparkly pager Tanya
- 3:13Speaker 1: got to wear that. Yeah, we saw just like she
- 3:19Speaker 1: talked about how like the blood splatter all that stuff,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you know, how they make They.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Had like every magazine cover that any of them had
- 3:25Speaker 2: ever got, got all over the walls.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yeah. It was crazy and it was filled.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And then yeah, we watched them cut the cake and
- 3:34Speaker 1: then we sat and hung out and Camilla came up
- 3:38Speaker 1: and said.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Hello, came over running with arms wide open. Might I add, yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 2: we love She's so cute. The cutest.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I think she appreciates you guys, because I do believe
- 3:49Speaker 3: that she and her co host, don't call it what
- 3:52Speaker 3: it is, Jessica Capshaw, were very influenced by YouTube and
- 3:55Speaker 3: this podcast.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Oh wow, well that means so much. I'm obsessed with
- 3:59Speaker 1: both of them.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So I'm obsessed with both of them. And I keep
- 4:03Speaker 2: wanting to remind Camilla that she did say she would
- 4:08Speaker 2: invite us to a watch party at some point at
- 4:10Speaker 2: her house. And I don't know when the appropriate time
- 4:13Speaker 2: to bring that back up is.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know either. I don't know.
- 4:18Speaker 2: It's been years, so.
- 4:21Speaker 1: But we Tanya made sure to run over to Owen
- 4:24Speaker 1: Kevin McKidd and tell him remind him that she that
- 4:29Speaker 1: we did have him on the podcast, and she did
- 4:31Speaker 1: tell him she didn't like his character, and he's like,
- 4:33Speaker 1: I videoed her telling of that. Yeah, he would say
- 4:37Speaker 1: to him.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Oh, I said, uh, well, I was like, oh my gosh,
- 4:41Speaker 2: oh hunt. And then I was like, what's his actual name?
- 4:43Speaker 2: Like I was like on the spot and I couldn't
- 4:44Speaker 2: remember his actual name. Kevin, Hi, Kevin, it's Tanya. I
- 4:49Speaker 2: don't know if you remember me, and you were on
- 4:52Speaker 2: our podcast many years ago when it was on Zoom,
- 4:54Speaker 2: so we didn't actually meet in person, but you came
- 4:56Speaker 2: on and we were talking about how we didn't like
- 4:58Speaker 2: your character because he cheated on Sena, but then we
- 5:00Speaker 2: loved you so much that we ended up loving in
- 5:03Speaker 2: because we loved you so much. It was like, ah, yes,
- 5:05Speaker 2: what you guys. Wait, my hands were going and I
- 5:09Speaker 2: posted the video. Robbie is like a lot of hands. Yeah,
- 5:12Speaker 2: it was like a lot of hands flying around.
- 5:14Speaker 1: She gestured over towards me, and so he looks at
- 5:16Speaker 1: me kind of confused, and then he goes, oh, like
- 5:19Speaker 1: I think when she told him and I told you,
- 5:22Speaker 1: I did it like your character or something? Yeah, it
- 5:24Speaker 1: clicked or he pretended like it clicked. Whatever the reason
- 5:28Speaker 1: he seemed to acknowledge it. So whatever. He's so nice.
- 5:31Speaker 3: He's just like everybody says, you still don't like the character.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I mean, you've never really come.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Around got better. So yeah, that was great. And then
- 5:44Speaker 1: we Jason George like came and he was like, hey, like,
- 5:48Speaker 1: only real press allowed in here, only real press a lout.
- 5:51Speaker 1: So he said hey to him and hugged him. And
- 5:53Speaker 1: then first guest of scrubbing in before Tanya pre t
- 5:59Speaker 1: our era.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah, returning, we've had him many times.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Well yeah, but he was he launched it for me.
- 6:05Speaker 1: He launched it for me. So anyways, we were like
- 6:08Speaker 1: on our way out and Chandra Wilson, who plays Bailey.
- 6:12Speaker 3: That's the first person I was gonna ask about.
- 6:14Speaker 1: So she was walking by. So we had turned around
- 6:17Speaker 1: because I was like, Tanya's eating a pretzel and I'm
- 6:19Speaker 1: like tap her, like get her attention, and Tanya's like
- 6:22Speaker 1: chasing her, but won't.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Say I like chasing her, like literally chasing her with
- 6:28Speaker 2: the pretzel in my mouth.
- 6:29Speaker 1: She was this close to her, so she was hovering
- 6:31Speaker 1: over her.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I didn't want to touch her because it felt and
- 6:34Speaker 2: it feels inappropriate to tap.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I don't like raising her.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I don't know, you know, it's a weird world these days.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So when we turned around, Jason George was walking towards it,
- 6:46Speaker 1: so I caught eyes with him and I was like
- 6:47Speaker 1: like pointing at her, like help, and he goes, oh, Chandra,
- 6:51Speaker 1: have you met these two? They have the best podcast
- 6:53Speaker 1: in the world. So then we go on it.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So then we have like backtrack and we're like, actually,
- 6:59Speaker 2: we have met you one time before, remember ten years ago?
- 7:04Speaker 2: We were at Paley Fest. We were in scrubs.
- 7:08Speaker 1: She remembered, she did yeah again, Okay, she's nice. She
- 7:13Speaker 1: was very nice.
- 7:13Speaker 2: About you guys.
- 7:16Speaker 3: She for sure remembered.
- 7:17Speaker 2: She was like, it was like a light bulb, you
- 7:19Speaker 2: remember when you go to Paley Fest. It was the
- 7:21Speaker 2: last Pailey Fest that they did.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I do think we're probably memorable and we're.
- 7:24Speaker 2: In scrubs, acting out scenes while their other press has
- 7:27Speaker 2: like videographers and like people with glam with microphones.
- 7:31Speaker 1: That's true. Our scrubs didn't match. There were two different blues.
- 7:35Speaker 1: We certainly were not professional, so we would be if
- 7:38Speaker 1: she did remember as memorable, that would be what she
- 7:40Speaker 1: remembers from. But she was like, well, how do I
- 7:42Speaker 1: get in touch with you to come on your podcam?
- 7:45Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:46Speaker 2: So we said our people were touching because she goes,
- 7:50Speaker 2: I don't have social media or did she said she
- 7:52Speaker 2: have some? She said something I like kind of blacked out,
- 7:54Speaker 2: but and we were like, our people will get it.
- 7:57Speaker 2: We'll get in touch with you, don't you worry.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but she did say like she acted interested, and
- 8:03Speaker 1: Jason really like hyped us up.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but I was very I was like, we know,
- 8:08Speaker 2: this is not you know, whatever you want. Remember, I
- 8:13Speaker 2: was like, if you can, if you have the time,
- 8:15Speaker 2: we really appreciate it. Like I was trying to be
- 8:17Speaker 2: very like respectful.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Right because they're just going to work. They're not going
- 8:20Speaker 3: like you know, idn't.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Be demanding or like rude or.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but there was fans. It wasn't like a like,
- 8:27Speaker 1: it wasn't oppressive. There were other content creators there. That's
- 8:31Speaker 1: how we got invited. So it was a really really.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Cool How about Amelia Shepherd? Was she there?
- 8:37Speaker 2: She was not there, Mark, and you know what I'm trying.
- 8:40Speaker 1: In the finale of last season, I was getting a
- 8:43Speaker 1: little concerned of who I wasn't seeing because I was.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Like, there was a big somebody dies. May did they
- 8:50Speaker 3: confirm that there's an explosion?
- 8:53Speaker 1: We know that Ellen wasn't there.
- 8:56Speaker 3: About doctor Richard Webber, he was.
- 8:58Speaker 1: We were a little intimidated to go say hello, but
- 9:00Speaker 1: Antonia did pass him and point to him on the
- 9:03Speaker 1: way to go say I to Kevin McGinn and they
- 9:06Speaker 1: have a video, so it was really fun.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Yes, my biggest regret was not going up to her.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I know, but she but by the time she was
- 9:20Speaker 1: done with press, she like grabbed her bag and looked
- 9:23Speaker 1: like she was having to rush somewhere, and it just
- 9:26Speaker 1: didn't feel like the time to stop him.
- 9:29Speaker 2: My only regret from that, well, I had two regrets.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Oh not stopping her because she was quick. She was quick,
- 9:35Speaker 2: she was bubbly and bouncing around. To me, she didn't
- 9:37Speaker 2: seem like she was in a rush. But then once
- 9:38Speaker 2: she finished her press, she was was gone the link
- 9:40Speaker 2: of an eye, and I was like, dang it, why
- 9:43Speaker 2: that regret? And then.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, but but I think what where she was
- 9:53Speaker 1: very much like being talked to by everyone, you know,
- 9:57Speaker 1: like press, and then also the cast because I'm sure
- 9:59Speaker 1: they don't see her a lot, right, and so.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I don't know that there was ever a time for us.
- 10:05Speaker 2: She was never never available. She was never available. But
- 10:09Speaker 2: that was my second regret, not going up to her.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it was really really fun.
- 10:13Speaker 2: But we did hear some insider info that she's amazing
- 10:17Speaker 2: to work for, like she's just like a girl, Like
- 10:19Speaker 2: she's a girl's program.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Sean rhymes anytime we are ready to have you.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And then what was so cute is the actor who
- 10:33Speaker 1: stands in for Camilla for scenes. She came up and
- 10:36Speaker 1: said hi, and she used to be Haley stand in
- 10:39Speaker 1: for Hailey was on a show called CSI Cyber and
- 10:42Speaker 1: she was she wore a blonde wig and was Haley standing.
- 10:45Speaker 3: That's awesome, I know.
- 10:47Speaker 2: So she was really sweet, really sweet.
- 10:49Speaker 3: You can make a career as a stand in huh.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah wow.
- 10:52Speaker 1: And she said when when she's not stand she said,
- 10:55Speaker 1: when she's not Oh well, she got her, she loved
- 10:58Speaker 1: she did like a dad joke reaction. But she was
- 11:03Speaker 1: saying when she's not doing standing for Camilla because like
- 11:07Speaker 1: if they only have a couple of days a week
- 11:08Speaker 1: that they're working, she is just like an extra on
- 11:11Speaker 1: Grey's Anatomy, so they work all week.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so we learned a lot, Yes.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Doctor Nick Marsh, Scottie Speedman, was he there?
- 11:19Speaker 1: He was not?
- 11:20Speaker 2: He was not, But you know who was there? Another
- 11:23Speaker 2: regret of mine link.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Chris Carmack.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yeah, he would have been a doll to talk to.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I feel he's great.
- 11:30Speaker 1: We've had him on the podcast is one. I wonder
- 11:33Speaker 1: if he'd remember.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Also on Zoom. Yeah, so less memorable Zoom, I feel
- 11:38Speaker 2: like is less memorable. Yeah than an in person, right, exactly,
- 11:43Speaker 2: earn shake your energy.
- 11:44Speaker 1: In person is unmatched, unhinged. It was really fun and
- 11:53Speaker 1: we were I mean we were on this we were
- 11:55Speaker 1: on set, you know, we were on the lot. So
- 11:58Speaker 1: the second time, yeah, been there before, were.
- 12:00Speaker 2: On our way there beca stopped at the gas station
- 12:03Speaker 2: because she needed gas, and.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Well, I could have tried to make it, but I
- 12:09Speaker 1: was trying to be respectful to you, not being not
- 12:12Speaker 1: making nervous.
- 12:13Speaker 2: No, I'm not. I'm not worried about the gas stop.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I'm worried about the fact that she thought she threw
- 12:17Speaker 2: a credit card in the trash. So she pulls the
- 12:19Speaker 2: trash can out and starts rummaging through.
- 12:21Speaker 3: It, and this is a gas station trash.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yes, thank you. I got a lot of an ideal
- 12:27Speaker 2: situation for me either.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry you're horrified, but I needed to buy my
- 12:31Speaker 1: credit card. By the way, I got very lucky because
- 12:35Speaker 1: it was nearly empty except for a few things other
- 12:38Speaker 1: than what I threw in there.
- 12:39Speaker 3: It was like a fresh Your credit card was in
- 12:42Speaker 3: the trash.
- 12:42Speaker 1: It certainly was not. After I rummaged, I couldn't find
- 12:45Speaker 1: it and I felt my pocket and was like oh,
- 12:47Speaker 1: I was like yeah, But it was more like the
- 12:54Speaker 1: swiftness at which you just went straight to the trash.
- 12:57Speaker 2: You didn't even look in your car to find like
- 12:58Speaker 2: some sort of plastic covering for your hands.
- 13:01Speaker 1: There was no time to waste there.
- 13:02Speaker 2: It was just it was like a lot. I was like, wow,
- 13:04Speaker 2: this this was a lot.
- 13:06Speaker 1: It was I'm sorry it was a lot for you. Yeah,
- 13:10Speaker 1: it was a lot for me as well. But I
- 13:12Speaker 1: was just glad I found it. At the end of
- 13:13Speaker 1: the day, I got what I needed, which was my
- 13:16Speaker 1: card and gas.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I also have to extend an apology to you. It's
- 13:23Speaker 2: a very serious apology. I missed something over the weekend
- 13:28Speaker 2: and I'm going to tell you what it is when
- 13:29Speaker 2: we come back. Oh did I do it good?
- 13:32Speaker 1: Yeah? It was good.
- 13:51Speaker 2: And we're back.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Yeah. I was waiting for a text from you. It's
- 13:57Speaker 1: been three days, three days late.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yeah. So I had in my calendar October third, three
- 14:07Speaker 2: month anniversary of Becca's engagement. Be like, I had to
- 14:10Speaker 2: count that on my fingers. That's sad. And there's a
- 14:15Speaker 2: lot going on that day and I did not send
- 14:17Speaker 2: my happy three month anniversary text to you and Haley.
- 14:23Speaker 3: So so this is the beginning at the end, right right, I.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Feel like you miss one. You missed the rest right.
- 14:30Speaker 3: No friendship, it's going to start to fall. I think
- 14:33Speaker 3: it's all falling apart. I think this is.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I just meant the text. We're going to stop.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah, so happy three months.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Thank you? Oh she's laughing. Thank you so much, thank
- 14:47Speaker 1: you so much.
- 14:48Speaker 2: It's did you guys celebrate? Did you wish each other happy.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Three We missed it ourselves.
- 14:52Speaker 3: No, I know.
- 14:53Speaker 2: It was a busy day. It was a busy My
- 14:56Speaker 2: head was somewhere else.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It's a busy day. And then Saturday, I went to
- 15:03Speaker 1: Las Vegas to go to Rice Festival, which I have
- 15:07Speaker 1: wanted to go to this forever, like I always see
- 15:09Speaker 1: it on social media and ever since I saw Tangled
- 15:12Speaker 1: in the lantern scene, I was like, I can't believe.
- 15:17Speaker 1: What do I have to do to experience that one day?
- 15:20Speaker 1: And then I saw that they do like this lantern
- 15:23Speaker 1: ceremony at Rice Festival in Vegas. I'm like, that feels doable,
- 15:27Speaker 1: but it's just never worked out. And then Jojo and
- 15:30Speaker 1: Saint Sprits were gonna be there and she was like,
- 15:32Speaker 1: would you want to come to this? And I was like,
- 15:34Speaker 1: I've dreamed of coming to this. So it's a three
- 15:36Speaker 1: day festival this is the first year they had music,
- 15:40Speaker 1: So it was the lantern ceremony and then there was
- 15:43Speaker 1: like DJ sets Calvin Harris. So Friday was rufus Dasoul,
- 15:47Speaker 1: Saturday is Calvin Harris, and then Sunday was John Mayer
- 15:50Speaker 1: were the headliners. Friday night looked like desert storm. Yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 1: it was like really intense winds when you're in the
- 16:00Speaker 1: is it mojave Mohave deest hovey?
- 16:04Speaker 2: Jojo said Mojave And I was like, what, JoJo's from Texas.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I'm from Louisiana. Mojave desert And so the winds were
- 16:16Speaker 1: like super super intense on Friday, and they had to
- 16:19Speaker 1: cancel the lantern ceremony because they were lighting with fire
- 16:22Speaker 1: like it was literally a hazard. But the winds, like
- 16:27Speaker 1: people were gray from the dust. So I sent her
- 16:30Speaker 1: a video of it and I was like, hey, I'm
- 16:32Speaker 1: just checking in. Am I canceling my trip? And she
- 16:36Speaker 1: was like, no, tomorrow is supposed to be so much better.
- 16:38Speaker 1: So I went and it was an out of body experience.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked crazy.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I can't even explain. It's like there's something about feeling
- 16:49Speaker 1: so small and something so big. Yeah, and like infinite
- 16:52Speaker 1: and like all the land, like twenty thousand people releasing
- 16:55Speaker 1: lanterns at the same time. It was just the coolest
- 16:57Speaker 1: thing ever. Other was perfect and everyone's like, are those
- 17:03Speaker 1: are those bad for the environment? They're all they're one
- 17:06Speaker 1: hundred percent biodegradable. And then they have clean up crewise
- 17:09Speaker 1: picking them up. So when you like.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Enter the festival, do they give everybody lanterns? Say hey, here.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Thing you get like this huge like square like kind
- 17:17Speaker 1: of cushion and then the lantern is it's opens with
- 17:21Speaker 1: the zipper. The lantern is in there. It comes with
- 17:24Speaker 1: the marker for you to write like all your intentions
- 17:27Speaker 1: like what you want to like release or put into
- 17:28Speaker 1: the world. And then and Matt is so you can
- 17:33Speaker 1: like sit down on it in the in the dirt
- 17:35Speaker 1: if you want to. It was so thoughtful and handing that.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Out to twenty thousand people feels like an expense. No,
- 17:42Speaker 2: not expense, feels like a lot of time.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You do you just when you went through security, you.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Just got it your that's part of the entrance.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Yeah, like you get it with your ticket. But it
- 17:53Speaker 1: was amazing. So if you ever had the chance to go,
- 17:56Speaker 1: definitely go. It was really cool, but I will say,
- 17:59Speaker 1: like the festival life, like one day is all I
- 18:03Speaker 1: have in me these days. Yeah, I don't know that
- 18:05Speaker 1: I could surpass one day, and even the one day,
- 18:09Speaker 1: I'm like, my feet's still hurt. Yeah, but yeah it
- 18:16Speaker 1: was amazing.
- 18:16Speaker 2: You know, the festival life isn't for everybody, is it
- 18:19Speaker 2: for you? No?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Well, I mean I could do it. I mean you
- 18:25Speaker 1: have to put into perspective. We went to a nearly
- 18:28Speaker 1: four hour Taylor Swift show and danced and stayed on
- 18:31Speaker 1: our feet the whole time, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 18:34Speaker 1: So it's like, if you have an artist that you
- 18:36Speaker 1: love and that you're like dying to see, like Cotela,
- 18:38Speaker 1: this year is gonna be like so so.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Different because you have to walk so much more when
- 18:42Speaker 2: you're walking into an arena to see a show. It's
- 18:44Speaker 2: not like you're parking a mile away. And I think
- 18:47Speaker 2: it's differently.
- 18:48Speaker 1: You could walk to where you're going at a festival
- 18:50Speaker 1: and just PLoP down and stay there, stay put, like
- 18:53Speaker 1: you have.
- 18:53Speaker 2: That option to the bathrooms. You have to walk to
- 18:56Speaker 2: the other side.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I'm just saying, yeah, you know, if you really want
- 18:59Speaker 1: to see an artist, which when they announced Coachella, and
- 19:01Speaker 1: it was like Justin Bieber and Sabrina Carper.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Wow, Yeah, it's.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Gonna be a fun weekend. I don't know that I'll
- 19:07Speaker 1: be there, though, I can't wait to hear about it.
- 19:12Speaker 1: But speaking of music, shall we just jump into it?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Yes we shall?
- 19:19Speaker 1: The Life of a show Girl has reached our phones,
- 19:23Speaker 1: our hands, our ears, and our eyes.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Yes, shall we review? I don't even know where to start.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Let's just start of like your first like, what did
- 19:32Speaker 1: you think about it?
- 19:34Speaker 3: Were set the scene where you were at nine o'clock
- 19:37Speaker 3: on Thursday night.
- 19:38Speaker 2: So I fully listened to this album at any moment,
- 19:43Speaker 2: any spare moment I had over the weekend, and I
- 19:46Speaker 2: lived with three boys, so that was challenging. But I
- 19:49Speaker 2: did it with headphones respectfully. That's nice, thank you. That's
- 19:52Speaker 2: what I thought too. I I'm trying to think of
- 19:57Speaker 2: like my initial reactions. People kept messaging me saying that
- 20:00Speaker 2: they wish that I had recorded myself hearing Wood for
- 20:02Speaker 2: the first time, and I really wish that I had
- 20:05Speaker 2: because my face was like my jaw was on the floor,
- 20:08Speaker 2: like fully just on the floor, Like.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Where were you, who were you with? What were you doing?
- 20:14Speaker 2: I was at my house, Sophia and Pow came over
- 20:17Speaker 2: and we literally were just watching or sorry, we were
- 20:22Speaker 2: listening to the album and reading the lyrics at the
- 20:24Speaker 2: same time. Oh wow yeah interactive yes, yes, yes, yes, okay,
- 20:29Speaker 2: what about you?
- 20:30Speaker 1: I was at home with Taylor and Haley. Haley was
- 20:33Speaker 1: reading the lyrics on her phone and we were just listening.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Ah yeah, yeah yeah, but the lyric I do is
- 20:38Speaker 1: a good idea.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yes, you get more out of it, I think.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, Mark, Where were you?
- 20:45Speaker 3: Wife Utah with college friends, girls weekend, oldest daughter at college,
- 20:50Speaker 3: youngest daughter and me at the dining room table playing
- 20:54Speaker 3: Sorry the board game? Are you familiar with the board game? Sorry? Yes,
- 20:56Speaker 3: we're big fans. So we were playing that and we
- 20:59Speaker 3: decided that's what we're going to be doing as we
- 21:01Speaker 3: listened to the new album. So we listened to Taylor
- 21:02Speaker 3: on just kind of random shuffle and then nine o'clock boom,
- 21:06Speaker 3: we did the countdown and everything play. There we go.
- 21:09Speaker 3: That's where we were.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Okay. Initial thoughts, Okay, my initial thought, so going into it,
- 21:16Speaker 1: I was expecting very much nineteen eighty nine, so I
- 21:20Speaker 1: think right off the bat was expecting to have like
- 21:22Speaker 1: a style or blank space, and I didn't have one
- 21:25Speaker 1: of those. Like I had moments of like I love this,
- 21:28Speaker 1: Oh my god, I love this, but I didn't have
- 21:30Speaker 1: like I need to hear it to get immediately. So
- 21:33Speaker 1: that was my initial thought.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I think a lot of people had that initial thought.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I think a lot of people thought it was gonna
- 21:38Speaker 2: be like nineteen and nine Part two, when in fact,
- 21:41Speaker 2: to me, it felt more Lover Part two interesting the
- 21:44Speaker 2: Levers one of my favorite Tailor albums. So I was thrilled.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Wait, people thought it was gonna be you were saying
- 21:53Speaker 1: it was a.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Lover I feel like, yeah, yeah, it was like more
- 21:55Speaker 2: Lover vibes.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I don't really, I didn't get lover vibes. Really. I
- 22:00Speaker 1: felt like it was like very new, Like I didn't
- 22:02Speaker 1: feel like it was really reminiscent of anything. You felt
- 22:06Speaker 1: like a new era to me, Mark.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I don't. I don't know from eras. I just enjoyed
- 22:12Speaker 3: it is that. Yeah, that's fine. You liked it.
- 22:15Speaker 1: You didn't have a did you have a song?
- 22:17Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 22:17Speaker 3: I think Opalite is a smash. I think it's a
- 22:20Speaker 3: great song. I don't know, you know, I think I
- 22:22Speaker 3: can predict hits. But then I'm always wrong lately, so
- 22:25Speaker 3: I think opal Light is a huge song. I think
- 22:26Speaker 3: it's phenomenal. I love the Fate of Ophelia. I love
- 22:29Speaker 3: the title track. I really enjoyed Ruined the Friendship. I
- 22:34Speaker 3: thought that was a beautiful song. I liked a lot
- 22:36Speaker 3: of it. I we just had it on shuffle all
- 22:38Speaker 3: weekend long. It was wonderful.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I did too, the more I've listened, So the more
- 22:41Speaker 1: I've listened, my initial favorites were Elizabeth Taylor, Opalite and
- 22:48Speaker 1: Isn't It Romantic?
- 22:50Speaker 3: I like that one too too.
- 22:52Speaker 1: The more I've listened to it, those are still there.
- 22:55Speaker 1: But I also love Fate of Ophelia. Honey and the
- 23:00Speaker 1: Friendship are like and I also love Father I did
- 23:02Speaker 1: not love Father Figure out.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I love Father Figure and I love it to me.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I thought the first four were like, yeah, smashing, I
- 23:12Speaker 2: was like boom yes, boom yes, boom yes, boom yes.
- 23:15Speaker 2: My only skip of the entire album is L two.
- 23:19Speaker 2: The only skip me too. I skip it. However, as
- 23:24Speaker 2: of late meeting last night, I found myself going one
- 23:27Speaker 2: to four back to back, and then skipping to Honey
- 23:30Speaker 2: and the Life of a Show Girl straight to a
- 23:33Speaker 2: lot in between that I love, but I ruined the friendship. Yes,
- 23:38Speaker 2: I like ruin the friendship.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I like Wood actually romantic, I love.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Actually romantic, and I love Canceled. However, I'm really in
- 23:46Speaker 2: a honey into the life of a showgirl mood right now.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Like those two back to back just do something to
- 23:51Speaker 2: my insides. I love them back to back and so
- 23:55Speaker 2: I've just been finding myself since last night doing that,
- 23:58Speaker 2: said back to back and then back to number one again.
- 24:01Speaker 1: What do you think about wish List?
- 24:04Speaker 2: I like wish List. It's probably my second least favorite.
- 24:07Speaker 1: U huh huh. She said that was her favorite. It's
- 24:10Speaker 1: her favorite, which makes sense. It's not like her dreaming
- 24:12Speaker 1: about her life.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah with Travy, Yeah, Travy.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yeah. I would say, well, what's really killing me right now?
- 24:22Speaker 1: Are the edits? There's fan edits to ruin the friendship,
- 24:26Speaker 1: to like really sad movies, yeah, right now, And that's
- 24:29Speaker 1: going around, so it's affecting me more in a different way. Canceled,
- 24:37Speaker 1: I found was really interesting.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Reputation vibes.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like Elizabeth Taylor and Canceled have reputation vibes. Yes,
- 24:45Speaker 1: it's so interesting because I feel like she put out
- 24:48Speaker 1: this all these titles knowing we were going to try
- 24:51Speaker 1: and guess what they were about. And they're so not Like,
- 24:54Speaker 1: they're so different than I think what people thought they
- 24:56Speaker 1: were going to be.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I agree, like everybody that ruined the Friendship was going
- 24:59Speaker 2: to be about Blake Live. I got it right. I
- 25:01Speaker 2: thank you so much.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I don't know if he knew it was high school.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I did not. I did not go that.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I did go that far.
- 25:07Speaker 2: I didn't go that deep. But do you know what's
- 25:08Speaker 2: so funny? So I was like, okay, I listened to
- 25:11Speaker 2: the whole album, and because I know Robbie's favorite Taylor
- 25:13Speaker 2: album is Reputation, I was like, I know what his
- 25:16Speaker 2: favorite song is going to be, so I know, right,
- 25:19Speaker 2: So I made him listen to the album top to
- 25:21Speaker 2: bottom so that he could really pick out of the
- 25:26Speaker 2: whole lyrics Christo, no just listening by it, and he
- 25:29Speaker 2: would listen to the full thing. I would like, give
- 25:31Speaker 2: him like a minute and a half taste of each one,
- 25:35Speaker 2: and I'm so convinced he's going to pick Canceled, and
- 25:39Speaker 2: he picked Elizabeth Taylor. Wow Wow, But Canceled was his
- 25:44Speaker 2: number two, so he was close.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you had an idea. What did you think about
- 25:48Speaker 1: the line pledge allegiance to your hands?
- 25:53Speaker 2: I don't think you understand, Like, especially right out the
- 25:57Speaker 2: gate the number one song. I always love track number
- 26:00Speaker 2: one on every Tailor album, Like I know I'm gonna
- 26:03Speaker 2: love track number one I have. It is scientifically shown
- 26:06Speaker 2: for me, number one on every album I love. So
- 26:09Speaker 2: I knew I was gonna love it, but then she says,
- 26:12Speaker 2: I pledge allegiance to your hands.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Come on, yeah, it feels it really felt like a
- 26:18Speaker 1: Tanya album. Yes, Like the whole time I was listening,
- 26:21Speaker 1: I was like, I feel like Tanya is going to
- 26:24Speaker 1: be obsessed with this. We're in the right word because
- 26:27Speaker 1: like someone like me, Wood doesn't really hit much for me,
- 26:31Speaker 1: you know, Oh my god?
- 26:32Speaker 2: And did you see the theories about how it's like
- 26:35Speaker 2: song number nine and then the song is like something
- 26:37Speaker 2: twenty three and then there's something to do with this
- 26:41Speaker 2: stuff that you do something with the number nine, meaning
- 26:45Speaker 2: like nine sixteen, Like what do you know, like his
- 26:49Speaker 2: Wood is nine? Yeah, that's that's what I'm saying. Yes,
- 26:55Speaker 2: it's all so good. I loved Wood, so, like, where
- 26:59Speaker 2: do you right Wood? If I knew how to write music.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Right, what was your song that you're just like that.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Right, pledging allegiance to the hands, like literally never felt
- 27:12Speaker 2: more seen. And it's like, I don't think there's ever
- 27:14Speaker 2: going to be a lyric to top that.
- 27:15Speaker 5: In this one that sing all least.
- 27:30Speaker 2: You could hurt me so bad, everything was seen nothing, just.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Like I actually love that lyrics just.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Like that, like the lyrics, it's just like that everything
- 27:45Speaker 2: turned to nothing, just like.
- 27:51Speaker 3: If you knew the podcast, that's a song that Tanya
- 27:54Speaker 3: wrote in Miles on the Kiss staff May didn't do
- 27:56Speaker 3: a song.
- 27:57Speaker 1: I wrote the lyrics just a long time ago though.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Yes, and James blow from Big Time.
- 28:14Speaker 2: A part time just like just like just like that,
- 28:27Speaker 2: just like.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think if Taylor's looking for a
- 28:33Speaker 1: fresh new songwriter, we should center those samples.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Yeah, regular Max Martin over there exactly.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Honestly, I don't even have to do about that lyric,
- 28:44Speaker 2: Like too bad it came out now, because had this
- 28:45Speaker 2: come out six months ago, that might have been our
- 28:47Speaker 2: song instead of Invisible String. I pledge Agents to your hands.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Oh I thought you meant your song.
- 28:53Speaker 2: I was like, wait, what, no, our wedding song?
- 28:57Speaker 1: So then Tanya, there's like in the music video for
- 29:00Speaker 1: Fate of Aphelia, Taylor does what I would consider kind
- 29:03Speaker 1: of like a TikTok dance. Yes Choreo wants people to
- 29:07Speaker 1: It feels like she was like, this is going to
- 29:09Speaker 1: be a trend, so let me just jump on it first.
- 29:12Speaker 1: And Tanya sends it to me this morning and asks
- 29:14Speaker 1: if I could teach her, so send well wishes my way.
- 29:21Speaker 1: That could take a while.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I knew.
- 29:24Speaker 1: It does. The album has very mixed reviews, though it's
- 29:27Speaker 1: very interesting because it's funny because.
- 29:30Speaker 4: He would go ahead, well, I was just gonna say, like,
- 29:33Speaker 4: there's a lot of people who are uh, have opinions
- 29:37Speaker 4: about the lyrics and that like that.
- 29:41Speaker 1: She basically like phoned it in essentially, and they were
- 29:47Speaker 1: expecting like Folklore and Evermore and Torture Poet's Apartment. But
- 29:51Speaker 1: I'm like, we got those albums, Like she just released
- 29:54Speaker 1: those albums. So if you want to go listen to
- 29:56Speaker 1: that type of music, go listen to type music.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Literally, the haters are so annoying.
- 30:02Speaker 3: And it's gonna happen, Like you knew that was gonna happen.
- 30:04Speaker 3: She could have put done anything and people would have
- 30:06Speaker 3: hated on it. Because there are certain people that have
- 30:08Speaker 3: to do that with something that is so popular.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Well, and it's like sure, in different seasons of life,
- 30:15Speaker 1: you gravitate towards different types of music and lyrics, and
- 30:18Speaker 1: like a sad song feels like the most amazing thing
- 30:22Speaker 1: that you could listen to in a certain time. And
- 30:24Speaker 1: then you turn around and there's songs on this that
- 30:26Speaker 1: feel like this is what I want to listen to.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I'm and to listen to her having a great sex
- 30:31Speaker 1: life and being happy and daydreaming about her future.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I feel like this album is very happy and hopeful,
- 30:37Speaker 2: like she's obviously in a very happy place in her life,
- 30:40Speaker 2: and I to me, it's one of my favorite albums
- 30:43Speaker 2: of hers, and so it just shows me, and I
- 30:47Speaker 2: feel like it shows the world that you don't have
- 30:48Speaker 2: to be this like tortured in pain person to create
- 30:52Speaker 2: art and be successful, Like you can be happy and
- 30:54Speaker 2: hopeful and healthy and still be on top and great,
- 30:59Speaker 2: like I love she did it. First of all, she
- 31:01Speaker 2: did so many interviews. I couldn't even keep up this weekend.
- 31:04Speaker 2: It was like headline after headline after headline, Like I
- 31:06Speaker 2: was like, huh, so much. And she did this interview
- 31:10Speaker 2: and somebody was like asking her, like fans are worried
- 31:13Speaker 2: that after you get married you're gonna like give up
- 31:16Speaker 2: singing or whatever. And she was like, that's such a
- 31:18Speaker 2: shockingly offensive thing to say to someone, Like that's not
- 31:20Speaker 2: why people get married so that they can just like
- 31:23Speaker 2: quit their jobs. Like I love what I do, why
- 31:24Speaker 2: would I stop making music?
- 31:26Speaker 1: Yeah? I feel like she loves what she does.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but there is this thing like when you find love,
- 31:33Speaker 2: then you're just you're just like done well.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I think because I think music is this thing that
- 31:42Speaker 1: people seek out when they're feeling all their emotions, and
- 31:45Speaker 1: I do think people write. I mean, some of her
- 31:48Speaker 1: best songs, in my opinion, are breakup songs, and I
- 31:51Speaker 1: think when you're when you're so inward and feeling so much,
- 31:57Speaker 1: of course what's gonna come out is going to be
- 32:00Speaker 1: very relatable and sad, and people are going to gravitate
- 32:03Speaker 1: towards those. But I also think I think that being
- 32:07Speaker 1: able to create songs about being in a happy place
- 32:11Speaker 1: is I think she she gets to do whatever she wants.
- 32:14Speaker 1: She Taylor Swift.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody messaged me and they called it like a
- 32:18Speaker 2: jetter jelly glitter, jelly pen album, and I was like,
- 32:22Speaker 2: that's exactly what it is. It's the glitter Jelly Pen album.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Yeah, but I just think it's I think it's fun.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Like the opinions of it. It's like, if you're listening,
- 32:32Speaker 1: the thing is, even if you're hating, you're listening. That's
- 32:36Speaker 1: all it is, is another stream.
- 32:37Speaker 3: For It's really true because in the old days you
- 32:39Speaker 3: have to go buy it. You don't have to do
- 32:41Speaker 3: that now to get full credit for your listening to it.
- 32:43Speaker 2: You know what. Also, I noticed that was so interesting
- 32:46Speaker 2: about this album when I was like watching it on
- 32:48Speaker 2: the TV, because we like, what did we whatever mirrored
- 32:53Speaker 2: it to the TV. You know, I'm talking about at
- 32:56Speaker 2: the end of every song because we read read the lyrics.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Oh now, oh now they're all on there. The night
- 33:02Speaker 2: that it came out, it said written by and it
- 33:04Speaker 2: was only Taylor Swift. But now it's Shellback and Max
- 33:08Speaker 2: Martin on there. So my bad.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Okay, cool. Thanks.
- 33:16Speaker 1: So it's a it's one of your favorites, you would say, like,
- 33:18Speaker 1: where do you rink it in your big question?
- 33:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it is one of my favorites.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Actually, like is it in top three?
- 33:24Speaker 2: Definitely? Top three?
- 33:25Speaker 5: Wow?
- 33:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I love this album, like I literally love it and.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Life it's a very Tonia album to.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Me beyond and like Life of a show Girl is like, oh,
- 33:36Speaker 2: it's like the perfect ending. It gives me chills. Also
- 33:40Speaker 2: the storytelling of it, you know, like this is show
- 33:42Speaker 2: business and like being a showgirl and then like kind
- 33:45Speaker 2: of passing the baton to Sabrina, you know, like it's
- 33:48Speaker 2: just ugh. I love this album. I'd say top three.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I don't know how I would.
- 33:53Speaker 3: What are the top three in no particular in no particular.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Order case a Life of show Girl, the reputation. I
