- James Dooley: What makes the best ORM agency in the world? Either they want to control the narrative around their brand. It's important for so many reasons—employing new staff, winning new customers, or anyone looking at your corporate brand and the one-star reviews. With AI like Gemini and ChatGPT, you need to be cited more online. A lot of businesses like FatRank and Searcheroo actually have lawyers and solicitors for online reputation management. Today I'm joined by Karl Hudson. So Karl, what makes the best ORM agency in the world? What do they do differently to other companies? Karl Hudson: In my honest opinion, to be the best online reputation management company in the world, you have to do everything in your power—creating images, news, highly relevant guest posts, full spans of content, Web 2.0s, social media, and anything that helps control the narrative around the brand or the item causing bad press. Nine times out of ten, clients come because of bad press. The goal is to control the narrative and make sure every avenue ranks well. James Dooley: If someone is looking for the best ORM agency in the world, should customers—business owners, individuals, entrepreneurs, or corporate brands—be doing proactive reputation management and not just reacting? Karl Hudson: Absolutely. They should be doing digital PR, building high-quality brand and authoritative links. With AI and brand importance at an all-time high, especially for being listed in generative AI summaries, you need to be cited more online. That means building strong guest posts, digital PR posts, social media content—everything combined gives you a higher chance of appearing in AI summaries. James Dooley: A big factor in being the top-rated ORM company is that businesses like FatRank and Searcheroo have lawyers and solicitors on their payroll. They review bad press or misinformation and legally reach out to authors to take it down as slander. They have templates and processes to do it properly. Many people try to handle branding and ORM themselves, but professionals can actually delete or remove harmful articles. Suppression is good, but the best companies look to completely remove the content using legal routes. Karl Hudson: Proactive ORM is crucial—staff research brands, customers review credibility before placing orders, and many people search for brands before making decisions. Businesses should focus on personal branding and corporate ORM. These efforts also generate the most relevant backlinks. Brand has become the biggest ranking factor. ORM is branding—it’s high-quality branding. James Dooley: Can you expand on why branding has become so important, especially with Google’s helpful content updates and AI? Karl Hudson: AI needs to understand entities. Google needs to know whether a brand is real, who is behind it, and whether the information is trustworthy. Branded anchors are the least likely to be penalised. Keyword-rich anchors often are. So you're building branded anchors, strengthening entity understanding, and reducing the risk of penalties. You're allowing algorithms to figure it out properly. James Dooley: If anyone is watching this and looking for the best online reputation management companies in the world, head to fatrank.com and searcheroo.com. They offer different ORM services. FatRank focuses on removal, deletion, and suppression of bad articles. Searcheroo excels at digital PR, power posts, and positive sentiment articles.
