- 0:01Speaker 1: Jeff Legwald is our Broncos insider Altitude Sports Radio ninety
- 0:05Speaker 1: two five Pro Football.
- 0:06Speaker 2: The insider I've covered while.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Jeff Legwall his appearances are always must listen radio. We
- 0:13Speaker 1: learn a lot, brought to you by the International Brotherhood
- 0:16Speaker 1: of Electrical Workers. Start with the job and with the career.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Iv W Local sixty eight. It's Leggy. Wef yeh yeh
- 0:24Speaker 1: on Altitude Sports Radio ninety five. Yes, Jeff Legwold Time.
- 0:32Speaker 1: It is a Friday afternoon. Kreigman and lindahll Nate in Vegas,
- 0:37Speaker 1: Andy in Denver. Jeff Legwald parts unknown somewhere watching film
- 0:43Speaker 1: No Doubt as he prepares for the NFL Draft. Jeff Legwald,
- 0:47Speaker 1: of course covers the Broncos for ESPN. Leggy, Happy Friday,
- 0:52Speaker 1: my friend. It's good to talk to you as always, Uh, Leggy.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Interesting you. In your piece on ESPN, you referred to
- 1:01Speaker 1: Evan Ingram as a safety net for bow Nicks. Evan Ingram,
- 1:05Speaker 1: via Twitter fancies himself a joker. What actually is Evan
- 1:13Speaker 1: Ingram and where should we set our expectations?
- 1:17Speaker 2: I both are true, really and you know you know
- 1:21Speaker 2: he isn't the true joker with the run component. But look,
- 1:27Speaker 2: I mean the guy in one hundred catches a couple
- 1:29Speaker 2: of years ago, and the Broncos haven't had his kind
- 1:32Speaker 2: of impact at tight end in quite some time. You know,
- 1:36Speaker 2: the catches, you know, they had no offense lead the
- 1:40Speaker 2: team one year, but I don't think he had the
- 1:42Speaker 2: impact and an offense that Ingram has had over his career.
- 1:46Speaker 2: So I think it's a little bit of both. He's
- 1:50Speaker 2: not quite the true joker, but he's certainly more impactful
- 1:54Speaker 2: in the passing game than they've had at that position
- 1:58Speaker 2: in quite some time.
- 2:00Speaker 1: All Right, Jeff, what do you think is going on
- 2:02Speaker 1: with Cooper Cup? It feels like we have kind of
- 2:04Speaker 1: dueling insiders out there. What can you tell us about
- 2:06Speaker 1: the situation? Are they interested or are they not really interested?
- 2:09Speaker 2: They being the Broncos, Well, the Kafferom says they're not
- 2:14Speaker 2: interested at the moment, so, uh, you know, they don't
- 2:18Speaker 2: have much after the you know, they're down in the
- 2:20Speaker 2: single digits after the Green Line us Naga you know,
- 2:25Speaker 2: and and the Ingram deals, So uh, if they're gonna
- 2:29Speaker 2: get involved, you know, they would have to do some
- 2:32Speaker 2: other things they've you know, I know people keep saying,
- 2:36Speaker 2: well they haven't extended anybody. Well, they already extended almost
- 2:40Speaker 2: everybody they've could already other than Zach Allen uh and
- 2:46Speaker 2: have avoidable years on you know, everybody's deal right now
- 2:51Speaker 2: that they've done over the last couple of years. So
- 2:53Speaker 2: to do it that they would have to do some things.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And I asked somebody today and you know again I haven't.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I haven't heard peak interest from anybody I trust around
- 3:04Speaker 2: the Broncos. You know, in the last few days, I
- 3:09Speaker 2: had a GM tell me he didn't think a GM
- 3:12Speaker 2: from another team tell me he didn't think the Broncos
- 3:14Speaker 2: are in the top five. So, you know, do is
- 3:18Speaker 2: it what you will? You know, this isn't twenty twenty
- 3:22Speaker 2: two Cooper Cups, So I guess I don't quite understand
- 3:25Speaker 2: the frenzy. But you know, again that free agency we
- 3:30Speaker 2: love because we know the names, we know the resumes,
- 3:34Speaker 2: we know their best seasons. But they would have to
- 3:37Speaker 2: do some things to get involved in that.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Again, Jeff Legwald just saying an NFL general manager told
- 3:44Speaker 1: him today the Broncos are not top five on cups.
- 3:49Speaker 1: So at least according to this general manager through Jeff Legwald,
- 3:53Speaker 1: as Leggie says, take that for what you will, because
- 3:56Speaker 1: NFL free agency is always wild, but Leggy in there
- 3:59Speaker 1: doing the world. We appreciate that, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.
- 4:03Speaker 1: So the fact that Denver is in on the Cooper
- 4:06Speaker 1: Cup thing, and given everything else that the Broncos did
- 4:08Speaker 1: addressing very you know, specific needs for the team in
- 4:13Speaker 1: free agency. What what does that do for the receiver position,
- 4:17Speaker 1: at least in terms of the draft and going forward.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Like leg you we talked a lot about this. Sean
- 4:22Speaker 1: Payton likes his wide receivers, but are they perhaps in
- 4:26Speaker 1: play for a receiver in rounds one or two in
- 4:28Speaker 1: the draft?
- 4:30Speaker 2: I would think that, Nate, And you know, again there's
- 4:32Speaker 2: some you know, Sean Payton likes the big framed receivers,
- 4:37Speaker 2: and there's there's a few of those guys, you know,
- 4:41Speaker 2: on the board, especially even after the first round. Waves.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You know, dependent how many guys at wide house go
- 4:49Speaker 2: in the in the opening round, but they're you know,
- 4:53Speaker 2: you've got bigger guys down the board. Lucier Burden from Missouri,
- 4:57Speaker 2: Jayden Higgins from Iowa State. You know, those are all guys,
- 5:01Speaker 2: you know, Jalen Nowell from Iowa State. Those are all
- 5:04Speaker 2: guys that sort of fit Peyton's profile and really productive
- 5:09Speaker 2: athletic guys who would be a little bit down the board.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So you know, there's wide receiver help in the draft
- 5:18Speaker 2: with players who could come in. You know, they wouldn't
- 5:22Speaker 2: know every position in the offense, but they would you know,
- 5:27Speaker 2: they'd be able to contribute on a limited basis. Obviously, Cup,
- 5:32Speaker 2: you know, again, you know, take it for what it's worth.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Everybody's got an opinion when you call people around the
- 5:38Speaker 2: league because everyone's just fatigued in the league about you know,
- 5:44Speaker 2: are they being used as a negotiating tool and all
- 5:48Speaker 2: this stuff. So but again, it would take it would
- 5:52Speaker 2: take them doing some things to get Cup on board.
- 5:56Speaker 2: So you know, I don't know he would have a role,
- 6:00Speaker 2: but you know, I think you would still be with
- 6:03Speaker 2: the Rams if they genuinely thought he was even remotely
- 6:07Speaker 2: close to his best.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Jeff Legwald, everybody, latest update from our guy, Leggy. Right there,
- 6:15Speaker 1: Broncos very well could be looking at a receiver. But
- 6:18Speaker 1: the Cooper Cup thing essentially paraphrasing Jeff Legwald, don't hold
- 6:23Speaker 1: your breath, Leggy, go catch your breath, buddy. We appreciate
- 6:26Speaker 1: you appearing on the Correkman and Lindahl showed today.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Nice Battling my friend, Happy Vegas,
