- 1:51Speaker 6: All right, welcome in. Glad to have you with us
- 1:54Speaker 6: here on a Monday. This portion of the show brought
- 1:57Speaker 6: to you by Superior Air Repair. Guys, we won't spend
- 2:02Speaker 6: a lot of time on the Citadel, but aside from
- 2:05Speaker 6: the second half one-yard line, problems with the drop pass
- 2:10Speaker 6: in the end zone and the two illegal procedures. Fairly
- 2:16Speaker 6: clean game and kind of what you would hope and expect.
- 2:19Speaker 6: I don't think too many people got, I saw, limping off-seas.
- 2:25Speaker 2: No, I think it was health-wise was number one, really,
- 2:28Speaker 2: and just taking care of business. And you're right, I
- 2:31Speaker 2: think They got what they needed out of that. It's
- 2:35Speaker 2: hard to get excited about that if you're a Nagy
- 2:38Speaker 2: fan because you go in at 3-3. If you're 6-1
- 2:43Speaker 2: or 6-0, it's a different deal. So it's just like
- 2:47Speaker 2: win the game and move on, and they did that. And,
- 2:50Speaker 2: of course, when your backup quarterback goes in, he gets
- 2:54Speaker 2: to stay.
- 2:54Speaker 6: Everybody loves the backup quarterback.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Everybody loves the backup quarterback. I just laugh. It's always
- 2:58Speaker 2: that way.
- 2:59Speaker 6: What do you think about Brady Hart?
- 3:01Speaker 7: I mean, I think he's fine. I mean, just keep
- 3:03Speaker 7: in mind, though, that you're talking about you played a team.
- 3:06Speaker 7: Not only is it way inferior, but it's probably the
- 3:08Speaker 7: worst team in the Southern Conference.
- 3:10Speaker 8: Like, I mean, they're 0-3 in their own conference. And so, yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 8: I mean, you can– it was as.
- 3:16Speaker 7: Good as you could hope for, I think. I mean,
- 3:19Speaker 7: I was thinking about this. I watched the first half,
- 3:22Speaker 7: and it was just– I mean, what I thought. And
- 3:25Speaker 7: it was like, yeah, I'm not going to waste time.
- 3:27Speaker 7: So I mowed the yard while I listened to the
- 3:29Speaker 7: second half. And as I was mowing the yard.
- 3:31Speaker 6: It was a good day for it, by the way.
- 3:32Speaker 8: It was a great day for it, by the way.
- 3:33Speaker 8: I didn't break a sweat.
- 3:34Speaker 6: Yeah, that was solid.
- 3:35Speaker 7: You accomplished something, too. Yeah, so I accomplished something, too.
- 3:38Speaker 7: And I was thinking about this. It's like, there's a
- 3:41Speaker 7: good chance that this could be the last win of
- 3:44Speaker 7: the season. I mean, based on everything I saw later.
- 3:46Speaker 8: That night, it doesn't change my mind about that.
- 3:49Speaker 7: So if that's the last win of the season, Arizona
- 3:54Speaker 7: State or Arkansas is going to be the best win
- 3:56Speaker 7: of 2026.
- 3:56Speaker 8: Which is a scary thought. Yeah, I mean.
- 4:00Speaker 7: I tell you this, Chip, Saturday night was probably, and
- 4:05Speaker 7: I can't go back to all 57 years of my life, but.
- 4:10Speaker 8: That's as good a night of watching college football.
- 4:12Speaker 2: It was the best night of football I've ever seen.
- 4:13Speaker 8: I think so. Me too.
- 4:15Speaker 6: I tweeted out, it was, in my experience, and I've
- 4:19Speaker 6: lived longer than you have and been watching football, Honestly,
- 4:24Speaker 6: since I was three, I loved it. I could tell
- 4:26Speaker 6: you starting lineups, you know, I followed everything. But I
- 4:30Speaker 6: cannot think of any day that was wilder and more entertaining,
- 4:38Speaker 6: maybe in all sports.
- 4:39Speaker 8: Especially Saturday night, right?
- 4:41Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, it just started at 11 a.m. with
- 4:44Speaker 6: Florida and Texas, and that wasn't a pretty game. But
- 4:48Speaker 6: just all the way, and the end, you're right. You're flipping.
- 4:53Speaker 6: You're watching these endings. You're watching all these teams. The
- 4:56Speaker 6: holding call against Florida State.
- 4:58Speaker 7: I'm like, you've got to be kidding me on that
- 5:00Speaker 7: Hail Mary.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Two straight Hail Marys. But two straight completed Hail Marys.
- 5:05Speaker 8: I'm texting my sister. She's up west.
- 5:08Speaker 7: She's like, yeah, it's going to be a really good game,
- 5:10Speaker 7: but Miami's going to pull away.
- 5:12Speaker 8: That's what happened.
- 5:14Speaker 9: Yes.
- 5:14Speaker 8: And then the Houston-Oklahoma State game was great.
- 5:17Speaker 2: A great game.
- 5:18Speaker 8: BYU-Notre Dame was a great game.
- 5:20Speaker 6: Yes, it was.
- 5:20Speaker 2: These games are just so entertaining. You guys watched the
- 5:23Speaker 2: Nebraska-Oregon game? I don't think you guys saw that one. No,
- 5:25Speaker 2: I didn't stay up that late. That was really a
- 5:27Speaker 2: bad game.
- 5:28Speaker 6: Yeah, it was close.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I started watching that game.
- 5:30Speaker 6: It was bad.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And I was like, no, I'm not going to play.
- 5:33Speaker 2: After seeing all the good football.
- 5:34Speaker 8: I was done.
- 5:34Speaker 6: I was exhausted.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I watched a quarter and a half of that game
- 5:37Speaker 2: because I just was up.
- 5:38Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Man, these teams are bad. I mean, it was really, it.
- 5:42Speaker 6: Was like, wow. Oregon benched Dylan Raiola, right? They had
- 5:46Speaker 6: a third-team guy playing. Did I read that right or not?
- 5:49Speaker 6: I thought he got hurt.
- 5:50Speaker 5: No, he played?
- 5:51Speaker 6: Okay.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. All right, well, that's why it was ugly.
- 5:54Speaker 2: It was 7-0 at halftime.
- 5:56Speaker 6: 17-13, did I get that right? And the only reason it.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Was 7-0, because the officials should have called it a
- 6:03Speaker 2: non-catch in the last minute. But they called it a
- 6:06Speaker 2: catch for a touchdown, and they couldn't overturn it. So
- 6:09Speaker 2: I've said this before.
- 6:10Speaker 6: When you watch this must football, you look at the
- 6:14Speaker 6: coaching mistakes just kind of jump out. And then the
- 6:19Speaker 6: main thing is the mistakes, is the turnovers. Every game
- 6:25Speaker 6: that we watched, every one we talked about, every one
- 6:27Speaker 6: that was nail-biting, there were always mistakes and turnovers.
- 6:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I started off that night watching Oklahoma and Kentucky.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yes, and I watched some of that too. I watched
- 6:39Speaker 2: a lot of that.
- 6:39Speaker 6: That wasn't pretty.
- 6:41Speaker 7: I was thinking about you when Will Stein went for,
- 6:43Speaker 7: he's up one point.
- 6:45Speaker 10: Why?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Why do you go for that?
- 6:46Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 6:47Speaker 8: Kick the field goal.
- 6:48Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Because then you go up by four. You make that
- 6:50Speaker 2: bad over there. I have no idea what he was doing.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 6:55Speaker 6: You can't say much against Cignetti. But it's 19-13.
- 7:01Speaker 2: 19-13.
- 7:03Speaker 6: There's a lot of time left when they score.
- 7:08Speaker 2: He goes for two.
- 7:09Speaker 6: And I go, wait.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I'm doing this in my head.
- 7:12Speaker 6: 19-13. If it's 19-14 and they kick a field goal,
- 7:17Speaker 6: it's still a one-score game. If it's 19-15, what does
- 7:22Speaker 6: that do?
- 7:23Speaker 2: It doesn't do anything.
- 7:24Speaker 6: But if it's 19-13 and they kick a field goal,
- 7:28Speaker 6: the game's over.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Right.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And I'm going, why are you going for two? It
- 7:32Speaker 2: didn't turn out easy.
- 7:34Speaker 6: He got it. He got it. But I'm going, why
- 7:36Speaker 6: are you going for two?
- 7:38Speaker 8: I thought the same thing. And I'm still saying, Will Stein,
- 7:40Speaker 8: why are you going for two?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Why did you do that? It didn't bite him because
- 7:44Speaker 2: he picked it off. Why did the BYU coach.
- 7:48Speaker 6: do a fake punt from his own 25-yard line when
- 7:53Speaker 6: they're dominating the game.
- 7:55Speaker 2: That was bad. That was bad.
- 7:56Speaker 6: And his defense bailed him out. They only got a
- 7:59Speaker 6: field goal out of him. What are they doing?
- 8:02Speaker 2: I mean, what?
- 8:05Speaker 6: And that wasn't even a pretty fake field goal. The
- 8:08Speaker 6: punter is already running to the line of scrimmage before
- 8:11Speaker 6: he catches the ball. And he's not an athlete. I
- 8:16Speaker 6: almost fell out of my chair on that one. I'm going,
- 8:18Speaker 6: you're dominant. You have the crowd. You're beating Notre.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Dame, and this is what you do?
- 8:22Speaker 6: I just can't believe it.
- 8:26Speaker 8: It made me really happy that I wasn't a gambler
- 8:29Speaker 8: with money on.
- 8:29Speaker 6: Any of these games.
- 8:31Speaker 11: Oh, my gosh.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I can't believe watching.
- 8:32Speaker 6: These games if you had money on them.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Because, like, you know, I'm.
- 8:35Speaker 8: Watching Georgia and Auburn, and I'm like, okay, well, Georgia's
- 8:37Speaker 8: about to come down here.
- 8:38Speaker 2: They were up 14 to nothing.
- 8:39Speaker 8: And they were about to finish it, win the game. Yeah.
- 8:42Speaker 7: And then they had the turnover. And it's the same
- 8:45Speaker 7: thing with Kentucky and Oklahoma. Oklahoma's got a great chance
- 8:48Speaker 7: to go down there. Mateer throws a terrible pass that
- 8:51Speaker 7: gets picked for touchdown.
- 8:52Speaker 6: No, no, wait.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Did you just say Mateer threw a terrible pass?
- 8:55Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 2: But the one he threw long that was intercepted and
- 8:59Speaker 2: he was hit, they were dominating the line of scrimmage.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Why even throw it? I mean, Venables should have been shot.
- 9:04Speaker 2: He should have won that game. Hey, but he's got
- 9:06Speaker 2: a new contract extension.
- 9:07Speaker 5: And more money.
- 9:10Speaker 2: How many times have we said that for a coach?
- 9:12Speaker 8: We ended up watching Houston and Oklahoma State.
- 9:13Speaker 2: That was a good game.
- 9:14Speaker 8: That was a really good game, too.
- 9:16Speaker 6: Do you think Connor Wigman would be good right now
- 9:18Speaker 6: in the level he's playing or not?
- 9:20Speaker 2: My wife, she.
- 9:22Speaker 8: Rip me for that one. Because I said the same thing.
- 9:24Speaker 8: She's like, oh, you were all for Marcel when he
- 9:27Speaker 8: came in. I was like, yeah, you're right.
- 9:28Speaker 11: You're right.
- 9:29Speaker 8: I mean, at the time, Marcel was a good solution.
- 9:32Speaker 6: I'll tell you, Conor Wigman's problem in his career, and
- 9:34Speaker 6: he hasn't had it quite as much this year.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Sometimes it's coaching, too, right?
- 9:38Speaker 8: Right.
- 9:39Speaker 6: You've got to give credit coaching. Because I'm looking what
- 9:42Speaker 6: Josh Hoover is doing at Indiana. And....
- 9:48Speaker 2: Man, not the same guy. Not the same guy.
- 9:50Speaker 12: Right?
- 9:51Speaker 6: He is not just throwing it up for grabs like
- 9:54Speaker 6: he did at TCU.
- 9:56Speaker 2: And it's different, right? It is different.
- 9:59Speaker 6: And Wegman is... different this year. He had his problem.
- 10:03Speaker 6: As you remember, Rusty, man, he gave the ball to
- 10:06Speaker 6: the other team a lot.
- 10:07Speaker 8: Yeah, he did.
- 10:08Speaker 2: He had to get rid of the Jimbo-isms.
- 10:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Took a while.
- 10:11Speaker 8: Yeah. Well, and Willie Fritz can coach. Yes, he can.
- 10:15Speaker 7: He coached Sam Houston State for a long time, and
- 10:17Speaker 7: he did a lot of great things over there.
- 10:18Speaker 6: Yes.
- 10:18Speaker 2: How about game day, going back to staying in Utah,
- 10:22Speaker 2: going to UH?
- 10:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, look, that's the game, right? Houston and Utah.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Is that amazing?
- 10:28Speaker 6: It's got huge playoff implications.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Yeah, it does.
- 10:31Speaker 6: And, you know, Utah's schedule hasn't been great, but I
- 10:36Speaker 6: just keep, thinking of Houston going to Lubbock when Texas
- 10:39Speaker 6: Tech is still, I think, overrated. I know they're undefeated.
- 10:45Speaker 6: And they probably should have won that game in Lubbock.
- 10:49Speaker 6: We know how hard it is to win in Lubbock,
- 10:51Speaker 6: by the way.
- 10:51Speaker 8: Yeah, every Aggie does.
- 10:52Speaker 2: No, everybody, you know, it's not an easy place to
- 10:55Speaker 2: go win.
- 10:55Speaker 6: No, it's not.
- 10:56Speaker 13: Okay?
- 10:57Speaker 2: You just want to come out alive.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Yeah, yes. Without a goalpost hitting you in the head.
- 11:02Speaker 8: I've seen that happen.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Or a battery hitting you.
- 11:04Speaker 13: In the head.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Or a battery or a tortilla.
- 11:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Tortillas are not that bad, but, you know.
- 11:08Speaker 6: I thought that was the best, right? They should have
- 11:12Speaker 6: let them throw the tortillas because when they start throwing batteries,
- 11:15Speaker 6: as you mentioned, people get hurt.
- 11:17Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 11:18Speaker 2: But I digress. If you're overrated in week seven, I
- 11:21Speaker 2: think that's a great place to be.
- 11:23Speaker 6: No, you're right. I mean, you know, Tech doesn't have
- 11:27Speaker 6: to play BYU.
- 11:28Speaker 8: I know.
- 11:28Speaker 2: What a deal.
- 11:29Speaker 6: Yeah, they have a great schedule.
- 11:31Speaker 2: So if they go unbeaten in Utah– Utah. Or BYU.
- 11:35Speaker 2: One of them win the rest of their games.
- 11:37Speaker 6: They could.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Big 12's going to get two in. Oh, I think
- 11:40Speaker 2: Big 12's going to get two in this year.
- 11:41Speaker 8: I'm pretty convinced Arizona State's a really bad football team.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I'm with you there. Yeah, they didn't look as bad
- 11:45Speaker 2: as they did. When they lost to Baylor, the Baylor
- 11:47Speaker 2: turnaround lost at home to TCU.
- 11:49Speaker 6: What was that about? Just as everybody's saying, oh, Aranda's
- 11:54Speaker 6: turned the corner. And Sonny is in trouble, right? Everybody
- 11:59Speaker 6: is calling for his death.
- 12:01Speaker 2: How does that work?
- 12:02Speaker 7: I started out watching that game, and I quickly texted.
- 12:07Speaker 8: My sister who went to TCU. My dad went to Baylor.
- 12:09Speaker 8: I was like, I'm not watching this crap anymore. It
- 12:11Speaker 8: was ugly.
- 12:11Speaker 2: It was ugly.
- 12:12Speaker 8: And they go, we don't blame you.
- 12:14Speaker 6: See, so I don't know what Oregon and Nebraska was.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I'll take your word for it.
- 12:18Speaker 6: TCU and Baylor was equally as bad. TCU Baylor was
- 12:23Speaker 6: equally as bad.
- 12:23Speaker 7: The Oregon game in the first quarter, first quarter, or
- 12:27Speaker 7: first half, there was eight punts in the first quarter.
- 12:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Okay. And the yardage combined for both teams was like
- 12:32Speaker 2: 130 in the first half. I'm sitting there like, this
- 12:35Speaker 2: is back in 1950. So, in terms of.
- 12:41Speaker 2: In terms of.
- 12:41Speaker 6: The great teams and the great games in my mind,
- 12:44Speaker 6: I thought Notre Dame-BYU was a really good game. Fairly
- 12:49Speaker 6: well played. Fairly clean, except for the stupidity and a
- 12:52Speaker 6: couple of things.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Pretty intense.
- 12:54Speaker 6: I thought Indiana and Ohio State was a terrific. I
- 12:57Speaker 6: didn't see any of that game. Okay, so I taped it.
- 12:59Speaker 6: I watched it yesterday. I just thought it was terrific. Now,
- 13:03Speaker 6: I mentioned the reason Indiana had won 22 or.
- 13:07Speaker 2: 23 straight games.
- 13:07Speaker 7: 22, yep.
- 13:10Speaker 2: They fumbled twice.
- 13:12Speaker 6: The last time they fumbled was the first game a
- 13:16Speaker 6: year ago. They had not lost a fumble. Wow.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Okay, so how do.
- 13:24Speaker 6: You win 22 games in a row? That's one of
- 13:28Speaker 6: the reasons, right? Yeah, and they were one step away
- 13:34Speaker 6: from winning that game on Saturday.
- 13:37Speaker 2: It was a terrific game. It was just an exciting,
- 13:39Speaker 2: great college football game.
- 13:41Speaker 6: I know, I know.
- 13:43Speaker 8: That big noon stupid thing.
- 13:45Speaker 6: Well, that's killing the SEC, too, because they're counter-ASPN's counter-programming
- 13:49Speaker 6: with good 11 o'clock games, right?
- 13:51Speaker 2: Crappy 11 o'clock games. Yeah, I hate that.
- 13:54Speaker 8: 11 o'clock should be crappy games, except for.
- 13:56Speaker 6: I don't know. Yeah, 11 o'clock should be lousy games.
- 13:58Speaker 2: And you said you had some of them, TCU and Baylor.
- 14:00Speaker 8: That would have been a great 11 a.m.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Game. OU Kentucky.
- 14:06Speaker 2: OU Kentucky would have been a good 11 a.m.
- 14:07Speaker 10: Game.
- 14:08Speaker 8: But that was a close game.
- 14:09Speaker 2: It was a close game.
- 14:10Speaker 6: It was a close game.
- 14:11Speaker 8: You're right.
- 14:12Speaker 6: But, I mean, I like Will Stein a lot.
- 14:15Speaker 2: How can you not? He was pointing over at Brent.
- 14:18Speaker 7: Venables like, I got you on that one.
- 14:21Speaker 6: You know, if he's your coach, you love that stuff.
- 14:25Speaker 2: He's spurrier, like a little. He's got a little spurrier
- 14:29Speaker 2: in him.
- 14:29Speaker 8: Which I like.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I like that it is.
- 14:30Speaker 6: The players were talking about that. We talked about this,
- 14:33Speaker 6: I think, a couple of weeks ago. It's like, hey,
- 14:34Speaker 6: our coach has swag, man.
- 14:37Speaker 8: To me, he's got swag.
- 14:38Speaker 6: He's not annoying.
- 14:39Speaker 8: He's not Nate Oates annoying. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 2: That's a good example.
- 14:44Speaker 6: Well, Spurrier annoyed everybody but the people of Florida or
- 14:47Speaker 6: South Carolina.
- 14:48Speaker 2: But I like that. Well, I understand.
- 14:50Speaker 6: I get it. He had that personality, and you either
- 14:53Speaker 6: loved him or hated him.
- 14:54Speaker 8: I love Mike Leach. Yeah.
- 14:57Speaker 7: Everything Mike Lee said was not, you know, certainly not
- 15:00Speaker 7: politically correct.
- 15:01Speaker 6: It was not politically correct.
- 15:02Speaker 2: It was definitely not politically correct. Spur your free shoes, university.
- 15:05Speaker 2: When you came up with something like that.
- 15:07Speaker 12: I mean, that will live in infamy, won't it?
- 15:09Speaker 2: I mean, that will live in infamy. I wish I'd
- 15:11Speaker 2: have thought of that.
- 15:12Speaker 6: So, SEC, they're eating their own right now, right?
- 15:16Speaker 12: And Georgia and Alabama, neither one of them, they beat
- 15:22Speaker 12: each other up last week, and neither one of them
- 15:24Speaker 12: came out and was a– were ready or able to
- 15:28Speaker 12: play on Saturday.
- 15:29Speaker 2: You talked about that, Chip. Back-to-back games like that is
- 15:32Speaker 2: so tough. Really hard. Rivalry-type games.
- 15:35Speaker 6: Really hard.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I'm interested to see what Tennessee does. I don't know
- 15:38Speaker 2: who they play. Yeah, they're going.
- 15:39Speaker 6: To South Carolina.
- 15:40Speaker 2: That's a tough place.
- 15:42Speaker 6: Did we say two and a half? It started at
- 15:44Speaker 6: one and a half points. It's a two-and-a-half-point game.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Back-to-back games.
- 15:49Speaker 8: Yes.
- 15:49Speaker 6: You know, it's tough.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I know it's tough.
- 15:52Speaker 6: And I'm sure you're going to have me picking that
- 15:53Speaker 6: game this week. And I'm already thinking about it.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Here's the deal about Tennessee. I don't think they're that
- 15:59Speaker 2: good at times, you know. But now, after that game,
- 16:02Speaker 2: I thought to myself, you think about Hyples won some
- 16:04Speaker 2: big games. What's funny is... He's done it really with
- 16:07Speaker 2: defense and a running game. Yes, that's how he's winning
- 16:09Speaker 2: this year. And he's won these big games by not
- 16:12Speaker 2: throwing the ball.
- 16:13Speaker 7: Let me go back to what games should be at
- 16:17Speaker 7: 11 o'clock this.
- 16:17Speaker 8: Week in the SEC.
- 16:19Speaker 2: There's a few of them.
- 16:20Speaker 8: Oklahoma and Mississippi State.
- 16:21Speaker 6: Oh, that's an ugly game.
- 16:23Speaker 2: When is that game?
- 16:24Speaker 6: Is that a night game?
- 16:25Speaker 8: Starkville, 2.30. Okay.
- 16:28Speaker 7: So, yeah, if Mississippi State quarterback doesn't play, that game,
- 16:31Speaker 7: that LSU game, they couldn't do anything.
- 16:34Speaker 5: No, brutal.
- 16:35Speaker 8: That was terrible.
- 16:36Speaker 2: That could be a 10-7 game, Mississippi State. And the
- 16:40Speaker 2: 10 points are five safeties.
- 16:42Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly right. I want to go back to the
- 16:47Speaker 6: SEC and the fact that they're eating their own right now.
- 16:52Speaker 6: And as you mentioned, Cease, these teams have to be
- 16:57Speaker 6: ready to play. And I know it's a cliché. But
- 17:00Speaker 6: it seems like this year more than ever, except for
- 17:06Speaker 6: Vanderbilt and right now Mississippi State without their quarterback, and Arkansas. Okay,
- 17:11Speaker 6: there's three teams you look at going, you expect to
- 17:15Speaker 6: win those games.
- 17:15Speaker 2: But if I could interject something. Of all those games,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and I was just mesmerized, like for Auburn winning, and
- 17:23Speaker 2: Florida going, and they were down by 14, both of those.
- 17:26Speaker 14: Yes.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And then later on I look, I go, wait a minute.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Arkansas beat Vanderbilt. And I said to myself, when I
- 17:33Speaker 2: saw that Arkansas team, they're never going to win a
- 17:36Speaker 2: league game. That's the same thing. But let's get back
- 17:39Speaker 2: to the NIL. They have 70 new players. They stuck together.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I give them all the credit for winning that game.
- 17:45Speaker 2: This is the football we deal with.
- 17:46Speaker 6: You don't know.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Teams can change from week to week. That's what I
- 17:51Speaker 2: wanted to bring up.
- 17:52Speaker 6: That's what I wanted to bring up because I agree
- 17:54Speaker 6: with you.
- 17:54Speaker 8: Because I said, okay.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Arkansas won. I think that's what created.
- 17:58Speaker 6: The chaos, don't you?
- 17:59Speaker 8: Yeah, let me say the opposite thing is I don't think.
- 18:01Speaker 7: Because they have the NIL, because there's not the unity,
- 18:06Speaker 7: the elite teams are.
- 18:07Speaker 8: Not as gelled as they used to be.
- 18:09Speaker 6: I'm with you there, too.
- 18:10Speaker 2: They don't have those– Three- and four-year-old Letterman to say, hey, guys,
- 18:14Speaker 2: get your butt out here.
- 18:15Speaker 6: We're horrible. There's no doubt. The teams that have five
- 18:18Speaker 6: or six of those leftover guys, but they have to
- 18:21Speaker 6: be the guys who are playing, right, to be the
- 18:24Speaker 6: leaders in the locker room presence.
- 18:27Speaker 8: But the chemistry is not there.
- 18:28Speaker 6: Chemistry is not there. You're right.
- 18:31Speaker 2: It's more NFL-like.
- 18:33Speaker 6: It is more NFL-like, for sure, because you don't know
- 18:37Speaker 6: week to week what's going to happen. And injuries in
- 18:42Speaker 6: a nine-game schedule for SEC.
- 18:43Speaker 7: But I don't think it's even NFL-like because an NFL
- 18:46Speaker 7: roster doesn't turn over as many players.
- 18:48Speaker 6: It doesn't turn over. It's true.
- 18:50Speaker 8: You're right.
- 18:51Speaker 2: You've got your continuity that we talk about that's very missing.
- 18:55Speaker 2: So what kind of premium on coaching... a new group
- 19:00Speaker 2: every year.
- 19:01Speaker 5: I mean, we're.
- 19:03Speaker 6: Beginning to see who can do that and who can't
- 19:05Speaker 6: do that.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I look at the Florida coach. I look at the
- 19:08Speaker 2: Kentucky coach. These are innovative coaches. These relate to the players.
- 19:12Speaker 2: They come out, like we talk about, I wouldn't do that,
- 19:14Speaker 2: but they're doing that. They come up with schemes. Stein,
- 19:17Speaker 2: I mean, he makes you work hard if you're playing him.
- 19:21Speaker 8: He's out scheming people.
- 19:22Speaker 6: Yes, sure.
- 19:23Speaker 2: And look at the new coaches all of a sudden.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Even Auburn gets the win. Even Arkansas got a win.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Arkansas has got to feel happy they won a game,
- 19:32Speaker 2: you know, an SEC play.
- 19:34Speaker 6: Alex Golish, did you see him post-game after they won
- 19:38Speaker 6: that game? I didn't. You need to pull up that interview.
- 19:40Speaker 6: That was spectacular. I don't know if you know his story.
- 19:44Speaker 8: He's Russian.
- 19:45Speaker 6: He moved to the United States when he was four
- 19:47Speaker 6: years old. Fell in love with football. and just pursued
- 19:51Speaker 6: it all his life. And to see the emotion after
- 19:56Speaker 6: that game, it was anti-Sark. It was phenomenal after the
- 20:02Speaker 6: Ohio State game. It was phenomenal. He was just, he
- 20:07Speaker 6: couldn't even talk.
- 20:07Speaker 2: But players run through a brick wall for guys like that.
- 20:10Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 20:11Speaker 2: And they'll do the same thing for summer all the time. Exactly.
- 20:14Speaker 2: And that's the difference.
- 20:15Speaker 7: I was working out with my headsets on while I
- 20:17Speaker 7: was listening to your first hour.
- 20:18Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 20:19Speaker 7: And Josh Heupel, it was like, did he just win
- 20:22Speaker 7: the game? He sounded so like, oh my gosh. He
- 20:25Speaker 7: sounded very Cignetti-like.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you.
- 20:28Speaker 6: Why Tennessee is winning. Their line of scrimmage on both
- 20:31Speaker 6: sides of the football is really good.
- 20:33Speaker 2: There you go. That's why they're winning right now. And
- 20:36Speaker 2: it's still line of scrimmage, right? I saw a graphic
- 20:38Speaker 2: because I was eating lunch and they had the TV on.
- 20:42Speaker 2: And they said that Tennessee... Alabama gave up more yards
- 20:46Speaker 2: rushing between the tackles than they have in 10 years ago.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Who looks up a stat like that? I mean, between
- 20:52Speaker 2: the tackles.
- 20:53Speaker 6: I mean, the stats for that game are unbelievable.
- 20:56Speaker 2: But I'm saying they ran the football.
- 20:58Speaker 6: You don't need to tell me that. They ran the
- 21:00Speaker 6: football down their throat, and especially in the second half
- 21:03Speaker 6: with Bishop. He carried 32 times.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Couldn't stop him.
- 21:07Speaker 6: And they couldn't stop him. Their line just took over
- 21:10Speaker 6: that game. And, you know, Alabama's defensive line of scrimmage
- 21:14Speaker 6: has been pretty good this year.
- 21:15Speaker 5: It's had been.
- 21:15Speaker 6: That's why I say them and Georgia, they weren't the
- 21:19Speaker 6: same team Saturday as they were the week before.
- 21:22Speaker 2: You're right.
- 21:23Speaker 6: Not even close.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And how about A & M going into a team
- 21:26Speaker 2: that's lost two in a row, and they haven't lost
- 21:28Speaker 2: three in a row since Mike Dubose was coached. Wow.
- 21:33Speaker 10: Wow.
- 21:34Speaker 6: Holy moly.
- 21:35Speaker 2: You know, I don't know what's best. Yeah, the pressure
- 21:38Speaker 2: is on.
- 21:40Speaker 6: You can see it in DeBoer's face the entire game.
- 21:43Speaker 2: The pressure is fierce.
- 21:46Speaker 6: And since you mentioned how some of it, and we've
- 21:49Speaker 6: talked so often about how these coaches make just unbelievable,
- 21:54Speaker 6: just scratch your head calls during games, you know, and sideline,
- 22:00Speaker 6: you know, is chaos. You know the pressure is on.
- 22:03Speaker 6: And you know what? I think the players, we were
- 22:07Speaker 6: talking about the new guys, right? And I realize these
- 22:10Speaker 6: guys are playing with house money now. It's not the
- 22:13Speaker 6: same as being in Alabama or Texas. It is not
- 22:16Speaker 6: the same. I don't care what you say. They've come
- 22:19Speaker 6: in and they can afford to go for two at
- 22:21Speaker 6: the end of the games like Will Stein has done
- 22:23Speaker 6: a couple of times.
- 22:24Speaker 2: They can afford.
- 22:25Speaker 6: Not to kick a field goal like Mike Leach used
- 22:28Speaker 6: to do. They can afford to do that. But these
- 22:32Speaker 6: other guys, they can't afford to do that. And their players,
- 22:38Speaker 6: I think they get right. They reflect the coach. And
- 22:41Speaker 6: if the coach is tight, how are they going to play?
- 22:45Speaker 7: I sit and watch these guys and I go, well,
- 22:48Speaker 7: they're making so much money.
- 22:51Speaker 2: It's ego.
- 22:52Speaker 8: It is ego.
- 22:53Speaker 7: So much of it has to be ego because really
- 22:56Speaker 7: with all the money they have, if they can remove
- 22:58Speaker 7: themselves from the ego and you say, look, my life
- 23:02Speaker 7: is– I'm taken care of. I've got generational wealth here.
- 23:06Speaker 7: So even if I get fired, I'm going to collect
- 23:08Speaker 7: the salary. So I wonder if you– actually had some
- 23:12Speaker 7: psychiatrists talk to these people saying, like, there really is
- 23:15Speaker 7: not as much pressure on you as you think, as
- 23:18Speaker 7: you're putting on yourself.
- 23:19Speaker 6: Have you watched the Saban documentary?
- 23:21Speaker 8: Yes, I have.
- 23:22Speaker 6: Yes, I have. So you know he has a psychologist, right,
- 23:26Speaker 6: come in, and that guy went with him, right, to
- 23:30Speaker 6: LSU and I guess to Alabama?
- 23:32Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 10: Right?
- 23:32Speaker 15: Right.
- 23:34Speaker 6: And changed his whole style of how he approached coaching.
- 23:38Speaker 8: Very interesting.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Makes sense.
- 23:40Speaker 6: Very interesting.
- 23:40Speaker 7: Well, like we talked last week, I think, you know,
- 23:43Speaker 7: coaches need a PR person.
- 23:45Speaker 2: A smart one.
- 23:46Speaker 6: On the outside, they need a PR person, for sure,
- 23:49Speaker 6: to handle the outside stuff.
- 23:50Speaker 8: Right, and so I think psychologists is also very helpful.
- 23:52Speaker 6: Inside, they need people that they can bounce things off of.
- 23:55Speaker 2: People who will tell them no. Who will tell them
- 23:58Speaker 2: the truth.
- 23:58Speaker 8: Yes.
- 23:59Speaker 2: You can't do that. Because I bet this week if
- 24:01Speaker 2: you went up in Goose DeBere, you might end up
- 24:03Speaker 2: in Mississippi somewhere. I mean, you know, you're in Alabama.
- 24:09Speaker 6: Hey, as we've said, he had to know what he
- 24:14Speaker 6: was getting into. He had to. Now, I realize you
- 24:18Speaker 6: think you know until you get there, right? I mean,
- 24:22Speaker 6: they'll all tell you. Saban told you that. Fran told
- 24:25Speaker 6: me that. Fran told us that, yeah. You don't know
- 24:29Speaker 6: until you get there. You think you know, but you don't.
- 24:33Speaker 2: It's a big fishbowl, particularly in Alabama. It's huge. Ohio State,
- 24:37Speaker 2: places like that. It's huge. Can you deal with it?
- 24:40Speaker 6: Can you deal with it?
- 24:40Speaker 8: It's even bigger in Alabama because you don't have any
- 24:43Speaker 8: other sports.
- 24:43Speaker 6: There's nothing else.
- 24:44Speaker 2: No professional sports. You have no professional.
- 24:47Speaker 8: In Ohio State, you've got great professional sports. You're right.
- 24:51Speaker 8: You've also got the Browns.
- 24:53Speaker 2: They're in first place. All you do is get rid
- 24:55Speaker 2: of Garrett.
- 24:56Speaker 6: I don't know anything about the NFL, but I know
- 24:58Speaker 6: they're in first place in their division.
- 25:00Speaker 2: They got rid of that Miles Garrett.
- 25:01Speaker 6: It's much better.
- 25:01Speaker 7: Just give them a little time. But, I mean, the
- 25:04Speaker 7: pressure in Alabama has got to be like... Incredible.
- 25:08Speaker 8: Those people are crazy.
- 25:09Speaker 2: They are crazy. And now if you're Alabama, not only
- 25:13Speaker 2: did you lose, Auburn won this week.
- 25:14Speaker 8: Those people will poison your treats.
- 25:17Speaker 14: Yes, they will.
- 25:18Speaker 2: It's Auburn won this week, so they're really mad. They're
- 25:21Speaker 2: doubly mad if you're an Alabama fan.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Same kind of thing.
- 25:24Speaker 8: You know?
- 25:24Speaker 6: I mean.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Roll damn tight.
- 25:26Speaker 6: Roll damn tight. So, you know.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Sarkissian couldn't be... He can't handle pressure at Texas. He
- 25:33Speaker 2: would never be able to handle pressure at Alabama.
- 25:35Speaker 6: You know, the way he's responding is not what you want, right?
- 25:39Speaker 2: You want... It's... I want.
- 25:43Speaker 6: Despite what Elko did last week, we've already talked about that.
- 25:46Speaker 15: Right.
- 25:47Speaker 6: But in his defense, he has taken responsibility. And he
- 25:51Speaker 6: even did when he goes, I own this. This is
- 25:55Speaker 6: all on me.
- 25:56Speaker 10: Right.
- 25:56Speaker 2: It's up to me to fix it. I haven't heard
- 25:58Speaker 2: that from Shark.
- 25:59Speaker 6: No. Right. He needs to come out because the fan
- 26:02Speaker 6: base over there is like the fan base here.
- 26:05Speaker 14: Right.
- 26:05Speaker 2: They're upset.
- 26:06Speaker 13: Now.
- 26:07Speaker 2: They were number one.
- 26:08Speaker 6: This team was number one, but they had designs on
- 26:11Speaker 6: being a playoff team. So there's similar things going on.
- 26:16Speaker 6: I want somebody to come out, as my coach said, look,
- 26:19Speaker 6: this is on me. I'm getting paid a lot of money,
- 26:22Speaker 6: and we're going to fix it.
- 26:24Speaker 7: But they've got a lot of fans who've seen them
- 26:26Speaker 7: win the national championship in their lifetime.
- 26:28Speaker 2: They do. I get that. But they expect it every year.
- 26:35Speaker 13: Right?
- 26:35Speaker 2: You expect it every year. When I heard that game
- 26:38Speaker 2: was winding down and I said it somewhat in jest,
- 26:41Speaker 2: but I wish it could happen, I go, is it
- 26:42Speaker 2: too late to get Holly Rowe there to interview Sarkisian
- 26:45Speaker 2: after that game? Because I'd like to see what he
- 26:47Speaker 2: would do. I didn't see it on field interview after.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Of course, I didn't see the second half, so I
- 26:52Speaker 2: don't know. Because he's not handling things well.
- 26:54Speaker 8: No, he's not. They don't usually do the on-field interview.
- 26:56Speaker 2: I know. You would love just to hear him run
- 26:59Speaker 2: up and go, Coach, Coach, I'm back.
- 27:01Speaker 6: But they do do pressers afterward, as we well know.
- 27:04Speaker 6: Everybody has to do that.
- 27:05Speaker 8: I hate the on-field interview. I do, too.
- 27:08Speaker 6: It's a waste of time.
- 27:09Speaker 2: You don't ever get anything.
- 27:10Speaker 7: The only thing that is worse than the on-field interview
- 27:13Speaker 7: is the in-dugout interview, which I hate.
- 27:17Speaker 8: So.
- 27:18Speaker 6: So at what point do you think a coach is
- 27:20Speaker 6: going to turn to the blonde sideline reporter and go, hey,
- 27:24Speaker 6: coming up, we're going to do this trick play that
- 27:26Speaker 6: we have worked on for the last four weeks. Now
- 27:29Speaker 6: here's how it's going to happen.
- 27:30Speaker 8: Right.
- 27:31Speaker 2: In the third quarter, they're down by seven. Coach, what
- 27:33Speaker 2: do you need to do here?
- 27:36Speaker 5: No.
- 27:37Speaker 2: And one of them said, go down and get points.
- 27:39Speaker 2: And I go, wow, I'm glad they went to that.
- 27:41Speaker 6: That would be a signetting answer right there.
- 27:44Speaker 2: All right, we're going to take a break.
- 27:45Speaker 6: It's the Writer's Roundtable for a Monday brought to you

- 31:47Speaker 6: Welcome back. It's the writer's round table for a Monday
- 31:53Speaker 6: brought to you by first financial bank and in tech, uh,
- 31:57Speaker 6: playoff 24 teams. Yes.
- 32:00Speaker 2: No, I'm dead set against it.
- 32:03Speaker 8: Okay.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Some of the things Elko touched on because it's all
- 32:07Speaker 2: about money. It's it's has to devalue the regular season.
- 32:11Speaker 2: What I see also happening is we love to change
- 32:14Speaker 2: things and get, And I call them the flavor of
- 32:18Speaker 2: the month because what's going to happen, and I'll probably
- 32:20Speaker 2: be dead and buried, what will happen when we go
- 32:22Speaker 2: to 24, your team that you root for within four years,
- 32:25Speaker 2: let's say they go to the playoff twice and they
- 32:28Speaker 2: don't get past the second round, you want to fire
- 32:30Speaker 2: that coach. More coaches will be fired than ever before
- 32:32Speaker 2: because now, right now we look at, you want to
- 32:35Speaker 2: get to the 12, which is the top 10 because
- 32:38Speaker 2: you do the at-large. Soon it's going to be the
- 32:41Speaker 2: top eight. You've got to get to the top eight
- 32:42Speaker 2: because you'll be home. You've got a chance. It's going
- 32:45Speaker 2: to be so hard for people outside the top eight
- 32:47Speaker 2: in major college football to win a championship. But immediately, oh,
- 32:51Speaker 2: we made the college football playoff. Oh, you know, we're
- 32:54Speaker 2: number 23. You really think you're going to win a title?
- 32:57Speaker 2: It's not like the NFL.
- 32:58Speaker 8: It's going to happen.
- 32:59Speaker 6: What's going to happen? Oh, yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 2: I know it's going to happen.
- 33:02Speaker 7: Whether you're against it or not, it's going to happen.
- 33:07Speaker 8: It's going to devalue the regular season.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Big time.
- 33:11Speaker 6: I don't think it's going to devalue it personally as
- 33:13Speaker 6: much as you think it is.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Maybe they'll change the robbery games. Move them up.
- 33:18Speaker 6: I think that the Saturdays like we had are still
- 33:20Speaker 6: going to be electric because the fan base aren't going anywhere.
- 33:24Speaker 8: I don't disagree with that.
- 33:26Speaker 6: We're not going to change... Saturdays in October. I mean,
- 33:32Speaker 6: they're still going to be important.
- 33:35Speaker 2: But you're going to get a team with four losses.
- 33:38Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 33:38Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 33:39Speaker 16: Maybe.
- 33:39Speaker 7: So that's why I'm saying it devalues the regular season
- 33:41Speaker 7: a bit. Three, four losses is not going to be
- 33:47Speaker 7: anything unusual to get in.
- 33:50Speaker 6: But when you saw the atmosphere here, we're going to
- 33:53Speaker 6: have more on-campus playoff games.
- 33:55Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 33:56Speaker 6: To me, that's not a bad thing. I tell you,
- 33:59Speaker 6: if this is what it takes to get rid of
- 34:01Speaker 6: conference championship games.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I'm all for that. I'm all for it. I'm for
- 34:05Speaker 2: that all along, even without that.
- 34:07Speaker 6: Because nobody right now, nobody is saying, hey, Georgia's won
- 34:11Speaker 6: two SEC titles in a row. They've won three out
- 34:14Speaker 6: of the last five.
- 34:15Speaker 5: So what?
- 34:16Speaker 6: I mean, they won a national championship once, but nobody's
- 34:21Speaker 6: talking about the other SEC championships they've won. Now, that
- 34:24Speaker 6: might be big here since it hadn't happened since 1998.
- 34:27Speaker 6: I get that. But I don't need the conference championships
- 34:33Speaker 6: when we're playing. We're already playing extra games. Now we're
- 34:36Speaker 6: really going to be playing that. I'll tell you what
- 34:38Speaker 6: has to happen, Cease.
- 34:39Speaker 8: It's going to devalue the bowls even further.
- 34:41Speaker 6: They're not going to be those minor bowls anymore. I
- 34:44Speaker 6: don't think the Texas Bowl will be around. I don't
- 34:46Speaker 6: think they're going to be around.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I don't know they could.
- 34:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:49Speaker 2: I just, you know, we'll see what happens.
- 34:54Speaker 7: To me, that's bad for college football in a way,
- 34:57Speaker 7: if all those bowls go away.
- 34:58Speaker 8: Because a lot of those cities, I mean, they do
- 35:00Speaker 8: a lot of charitable functions.
- 35:02Speaker 13: Yes, they do.
- 35:02Speaker 7: And so a lot of those guys go, and they
- 35:05Speaker 7: go to these hospitals, and they visit kids.
- 35:07Speaker 15: Yes.
- 35:07Speaker 7: Some of those things are like long-time memories that it's
- 35:10Speaker 7: just like... So I hate to see that go away.
- 35:13Speaker 6: How about going back to eight games in the SEC
- 35:16Speaker 6: if we go to 24 games?
- 35:18Speaker 2: Do you think there's a possibility they will do that?
- 35:20Speaker 2: It'll be interesting. I think you're going to have to
- 35:22Speaker 2: have jobs. It'll have to be negotiated. Because, once again,
- 35:26Speaker 2: the whole purpose, like you said, no conference championship. You
- 35:28Speaker 2: want to get to the college football playoff, but then
- 35:31Speaker 2: you've got to win because it's going to be, you know,
- 35:33Speaker 2: if you're at the lower level, who cares? If it
- 35:36Speaker 2: goes two straight years, losing the first round, fans around here.
- 35:38Speaker 6: Are going to go nuts. Will... Teams schedule better non-conference
- 35:45Speaker 6: games knowing that a loss wouldn't affect them.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Well, no, not if I'm in the SEC because I'm
- 35:52Speaker 2: going to lose games anyway. Yeah.
- 35:54Speaker 8: I agree with Cease there. Yeah, man. Well, I played
- 35:57Speaker 8: Notre Dame. If I could play the Citadel, I'm going
- 35:58Speaker 8: to play nine or eight.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I think this is going to be a good sample
- 36:02Speaker 2: because right now when you look, everybody in the SEC
- 36:04Speaker 2: has got a loss. How many does the SEC get
- 36:07Speaker 2: in 2020?
- 36:07Speaker 6: This year.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Do they get three or four? If they get four, then.
- 36:11Speaker 8: Beating each other up helps.
- 36:12Speaker 7: The problem with the 2014 playoff is that we all
- 36:14Speaker 7: know there's no way that the 2014 that gets in
- 36:18Speaker 7: is not– they don't have a chance to win it.
- 36:20Speaker 8: In my opinion.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 36:21Speaker 7: Because the last team that gets in in Major League Baseball,
- 36:24Speaker 7: the last team that gets in in football, in the NFL,
- 36:27Speaker 7: they have a chance because.
- 36:29Speaker 8: It's equal.
- 36:31Speaker 2: It's equal.
- 36:32Speaker 8: But the 24th team.
- 36:34Speaker 6: I would argue that with the transfer portal now, it's
- 36:37Speaker 6: equaling out, like we've talked about.
- 36:39Speaker 8: Yeah, maybe so. I mean, South Carolina goes into Georgia, right?
- 36:42Speaker 6: So you're right.
- 36:43Speaker 2: But even the NFL playoffs show the higher rounds.
- 36:48Speaker 2: It's tough to go in the road because that team rests.
- 36:50Speaker 2: It's going to be great to rest for those top eight.
- 36:53Speaker 2: You're going to get a rest.
- 36:54Speaker 6: Except that with the 12-team playoff, the teams that have
- 36:58Speaker 6: gotten the bye week haven't won anything the last three years.
- 37:02Speaker 6: They've had a week off, and those are the teams
- 37:04Speaker 6: that have struggled.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Because they had the seeding wrong. Because remember, right? Fair.
- 37:10Speaker 8: Fair.
- 37:10Speaker 2: They're going to have a true seeding next time.
- 37:13Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Because number 24 ain't going to go far. You know,
- 37:15Speaker 2: I'm with you in the long run.
- 37:17Speaker 10: Right.
- 37:18Speaker 2: But what I hate is we're tweaking a great product because,
- 37:22Speaker 2: like you said, last night, it's not really broken, but
- 37:26Speaker 2: guess what? They want more money.
- 37:27Speaker 6: More is not always better, like we said with the
- 37:29Speaker 6: NCAA basketball tournament. I'm still very much against that.
- 37:32Speaker 2: I'm with you there. I'm against that, too.
- 37:34Speaker 6: So, yeah, more. How many is it now?
- 37:37Speaker 8: 71?
- 37:38Speaker 6: I don't know. I don't know. It's just ridiculous.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Like Rusty says, there's nothing we can do about it,
- 37:43Speaker 2: but I like complaining.
- 37:44Speaker 6: Well, that's why we're here. That's why we're the grumpy
- 37:47Speaker 6: old men.
- 37:48Speaker 2: I like 12. Get off my yard.
- 37:50Speaker 6: Get off my yard, you kids. Stay off my yard.
- 37:53Speaker 2: But I do like 12.
- 37:54Speaker 8: I just mowed it.
- 37:59Speaker 2: And gave up a half of college football.
- 38:01Speaker 8: You didn't miss anything.
- 38:03Speaker 6: Yeah. It's fine.
- 38:05Speaker 5: Yeah, well.
- 38:06Speaker 2: You know, I like the 12 because we know 10
- 38:09Speaker 2: only go. So there's a cutoff. Now if you're going
- 38:12Speaker 2: to add 12. You're going to be 19 at large, Vince,
- 38:14Speaker 2: and I saw that, 19 at large.
- 38:17Speaker 6: What does A & M have to do to have
- 38:20Speaker 6: a chance Saturday, Cease?
- 38:22Speaker 2: Well, you know, you touched on it. It gets back
- 38:25Speaker 2: to be a line of scrimmage league. I mean, Tennessee
- 38:27Speaker 2: won because they ran the ball and Alabama couldn't. I mean,
- 38:31Speaker 2: sometimes it gets to be so basic. And I heard
- 38:34Speaker 2: you driving over. We all know turnovers are huge. Unless
- 38:37Speaker 2: you're so inept, like A & M is an offense,
- 38:40Speaker 2: you get a turnover inside the 15, you can't score.
- 38:42Speaker 2: You don't even get three points. So, I mean, you know,
- 38:44Speaker 2: it's like. Where did I say that?
- 38:46Speaker 8: Yeah. Missouri?
- 38:47Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 38:47Speaker 2: So, you know, it's just like I keep saying it,
- 38:51Speaker 2: and I say it for the third time. I look
- 38:53Speaker 2: for A & M to be better, but I said
- 38:56Speaker 2: the same thing about Missouri and LSU, and it didn't happen.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Because I think they've got a very slim chance of winning.
- 39:03Speaker 2: They're a two-touchdown underdog. But if they lose this game
- 39:07Speaker 2: and don't play well, then you've got two weeks. You've
- 39:10Speaker 2: got a week off to be reminded how bad you are,
- 39:14Speaker 2: and then you've got to go on the road again.
- 39:15Speaker 2: And then who are you going to beat when you're
- 39:18Speaker 2: 4-4 coming off a bad loss? I think this is
- 39:20Speaker 2: a big game for a lot of reasons.
- 39:22Speaker 7: I've told you all before, there's like 25 college friends,
- 39:25Speaker 7: and we still throw against the spread.
- 39:27Speaker 8: We pick 15 games against the spread.
- 39:29Speaker 6: Oh, I'd never do that.
- 39:30Speaker 8: It's so hard.
- 39:31Speaker 7: So we put 20 bucks in, and there's a winner
- 39:34Speaker 7: each week. So I'm going to take A & M.
- 39:37Speaker 6: I think A & M will cover the spread.
- 39:40Speaker 2: 14 halves a lot?
- 39:41Speaker 8: Because I think Alabama is just wounded.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Yes, they are. They're hurt.
- 39:45Speaker 8: Now, having said that, I'm barely above 500. Well, that's good.
- 39:50Speaker 6: I'll tell you what. Barely above 500 against the spread.
- 39:52Speaker 2: That's good. If you give me 20 bucks, I'll put
- 39:55Speaker 2: money on Alabama too.
- 39:58Speaker 6: I'll put your 20 bucks on that.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I like the way you're thinking.
- 40:02Speaker 7: This is the way I spend my sports talk money.
- 40:06Speaker 2: You lose twice. You can't play very often with that.
- 40:10Speaker 2: That's for darn sure. All right, we're going to take
- 40:13Speaker 2: a break.
- 40:13Speaker 6: We'll come back. The Cowboys report. That's another story altogether.
- 40:17Speaker 6: It's brought to you by Schulte Roofing and the Decker
- 40:19Speaker 6: Financial Group.
- 40:21Speaker 11: It was after a hailstorm a few years back. I
- 40:23Speaker 11: needed a new roof. Yeah, I shopped around, and then
- 40:26Speaker 11: I found Schulte Roofing, and boy, I'm glad I did.
- 40:28Speaker 11: The folks at Schulte guided me every step of the way.
- 40:31Speaker 11: They showed me my options. They told me what my
- 40:33Speaker 11: out-of-pocket cost would be after insurance. They took the complication
- 40:37Speaker 11: out of an otherwise very stressful situation. They took off
- 40:40Speaker 11: the damaged roof, put on the new roof, did all
- 40:42Speaker 11: the cleanup, and I had my new roof in one day.
- 40:45Speaker 6: Schulte With the Cowboys.
- 40:53Speaker 15: Hiring new senior defensive assistant Mike Pettin, many are curious
- 40:57Speaker 15: on exactly what he'll be doing to help the team.
- 40:59Speaker 15: and Brian Schottenheimer spoke about it in today's press conference.
- 41:02Speaker 17: Yeah, I don't see Pet being involved, you know, day-to-day
- 41:06Speaker 17: with a position group on the field, things like that. Like,
- 41:08Speaker 17: he's been here a couple days. He's not been on
- 41:10Speaker 17: the practice field yet. He's been in the lab, as
- 41:12Speaker 17: CP called it, which I love, you know. He's a
- 41:14Speaker 17: film junkie.
- 41:15Speaker 6: He's one of the best.
- 41:16Speaker 17: He's actually one of the first guys I ever saw
- 41:18Speaker 17: that was, I would say, a computer, you know, expert.
- 41:21Speaker 17: This is going back to the early 2000s in New York.
- 41:24Speaker 17: I mean, So he's constantly working on that, but he
- 41:28Speaker 17: can go anywhere he wants. But right now he's getting
- 41:30Speaker 17: caught up on things. He's getting up to date on us,
- 41:32Speaker 17: the system, and I think that's where his time is
- 41:35Speaker 17: going to be most spent. But again, you guys know me.
- 41:39Speaker 17: When you're part of our staff or part of our family,
- 41:40Speaker 17: you're welcome anywhere.
- 41:42Speaker 15: They will hope to utilize him well for this coming
- 41:44Speaker 15: week for Sunday night football as the Cowboys take on
- 41:46Speaker 15: the Packers at 720.
- 41:48Speaker 2: I'm Trevor Beck with your Cowboys report. Let's talk about

- 43:35Speaker 2: Welcome back. Glad to have you with us.
- 43:37Speaker 6: It's the Writer's Roundtable for a Monday brought to you
- 43:39Speaker 6: by First Financial Bank and Intech. You guys are probably
- 43:48Speaker 6: realistic and not optimistic on these last five games. There's
- 43:53Speaker 6: still five games left. These games aren't quite as difficult. Now,
- 43:59Speaker 6: one has changed, the home game against Tennessee, right? That's
- 44:03Speaker 6: gotten tougher. Yeah. The South Carolina game is probably about
- 44:08Speaker 6: what we thought.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Yeah, middle of the road. Middle of the road. Yeah,
- 44:11Speaker 2: that's what I think. Oklahoma isn't nearly.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Yes, it is. It's very difficult. Oklahoma isn't nearly as
- 44:17Speaker 6: difficult as what we thought at the beginning of the season.
- 44:21Speaker 6: And right now, despite all the talent, it was always
- 44:25Speaker 6: going to be a toss-up game in my mind with Texas.
- 44:28Speaker 6: Because of the rivalry.
- 44:28Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Even more so now than ever, I think.
- 44:31Speaker 14: Well, I mean.
- 44:33Speaker 6: Yeah, they may both be playing to go to a
- 44:36Speaker 6: bowl game.
- 44:37Speaker 2: I hate to say it, bragging rights might be really
- 44:40Speaker 2: the only thing they play for.
- 44:42Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 44:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:43Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, at the very best, Chip, I would
- 44:48Speaker 7: think two wins.
- 44:50Speaker 2: We talked last week, I'm still at two at the
- 44:52Speaker 2: over and under. I'm going to say two. Two of
- 44:54Speaker 2: those five. I was going to say two of those. Okay.
- 44:57Speaker 2: I would say I wouldn't go any more. I give
- 45:00Speaker 2: the over and under two on your betting. Yeah, I mean,
- 45:02Speaker 2: the most I could possibly give. I really lean towards one,
- 45:06Speaker 2: but I could see two happening.
- 45:08Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 45:09Speaker 2: I think it's, once again, you actually subconsciously root, obviously,
- 45:13Speaker 2: for the hometown team, and that's why I would go two. Because,
- 45:16Speaker 2: to be quite honest with you, what I've seen so far,
- 45:19Speaker 2: I don't think they could win one what they've done.
- 45:22Speaker 2: They've got to get better, and I've seen six.
- 45:23Speaker 5: Seven games.
- 45:24Speaker 7: The interesting thing here is that Mike Elko is on no.
- 45:31Speaker 8: Kind of hot seat. True. In my opinion.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Mine too.
- 45:35Speaker 7: So there's no danger of him. Even if they were
- 45:38Speaker 7: to go winless, it would be a lost season. But
- 45:41Speaker 7: he's the guy who so... properly evaluated his first two years.
- 45:47Speaker 7: So you've got to give him the benefit of the
- 45:49Speaker 7: doubt in this era of, well, let's go see how
- 45:53Speaker 7: he fixes this.
- 45:55Speaker 6: I read an article not too long ago by one
- 45:57Speaker 6: of the college, national college writers saying the same thing.
- 46:00Speaker 6: It's like fans are going to have to Except that
- 46:03Speaker 6: there's going to be down years because of what you
- 46:05Speaker 6: just said. Coaches are going to miss on players they
- 46:10Speaker 6: thought they were hitting on.
- 46:11Speaker 2: It's like playing the stock market, if I could see it.
- 46:13Speaker 2: You're not going to win every year. If you did,
- 46:15Speaker 2: you'd be rich.
- 46:17Speaker 6: Which goes back to development. You're not going to have
- 46:23Speaker 6: many of these four-year and certainly five-year guys that you
- 46:26Speaker 6: used to have.
- 46:27Speaker 2: You need them. You've got to have them.
- 46:30Speaker 6: I was looking at Indiana's offensive line and how many
- 46:33Speaker 6: of those guys have started. Obviously, some of this goes
- 46:37Speaker 6: back to even James Madison now. It's been only three years.
- 46:43Speaker 6: All the Indiana starters on the front line, they've They've
- 46:47Speaker 6: started 60-plus games.
- 46:50Speaker 2: I mean, that's a lot of games.
- 46:52Speaker 8: Especially together.
- 46:53Speaker 2: That's what I mean. You can't gel an offensive line
- 46:57Speaker 2: like that. That's correct.
- 46:58Speaker 8: And it's not anymore.
- 46:59Speaker 7: And so A & M, I thought, I was really
- 47:01Speaker 7: excited about the offensive linemen they got because they're all
- 47:04Speaker 7: SEC offensive linemen. But they're not as good in reality.
- 47:08Speaker 8: As they looked on paper.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Ask Sark about that in Austin.
- 47:11Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 47:12Speaker 2: He did the same thing.
- 47:13Speaker 5: Yeah, you're right.
- 47:13Speaker 2: It's because I'm going, they had two great years. brought
- 47:17Speaker 2: in all SEC talent. I go, that's smart. They were
- 47:20Speaker 2: good in the SEC. A & M' s in the SEC.
- 47:22Speaker 8: And he brought in a couple of pro players like
- 47:25Speaker 8: the kicker. I'm serious. The kicker and the punter.
- 47:27Speaker 6: Are going to be pro players.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Yes, they are.
- 47:29Speaker 8: And he put an emphasis on that, and he nailed it.
- 47:33Speaker 6: He did. Special teams have been great.
- 47:34Speaker 2: The putter was here, though, Tyler.
- 47:36Speaker 8: Oh, that's right.
- 47:37Speaker 2: The other guy.
- 47:38Speaker 8: Alano.
- 47:38Speaker 2: That was a good investment, Alano. But he whiffed on
- 47:42Speaker 2: a lot of these guys. Now, what's funny is he
- 47:44Speaker 2: said today, now whether it's true, these guys are coming on.
- 47:46Speaker 2: They're healthy. He said, like, the Colorado transfers, they were
- 47:49Speaker 2: banged up, hurt a little bit. Once again, will we
- 47:52Speaker 2: see that? Because I go back, I'm still shocked that
- 47:56Speaker 2: Arkansas won a game. But once again, as you have
- 47:58Speaker 2: all these guys, when does the light go on? I
- 48:00Speaker 2: go back to... When the light went on for Jackie
- 48:03Speaker 2: Sherrill and them in 85, that team was not good,
- 48:06Speaker 2: but they beat TCU in Texas. Then they were on
- 48:08Speaker 2: their way. The problem is, all you have is this year.
- 48:12Speaker 2: So could A & M get clicked to get three
- 48:15Speaker 2: wins right now?
- 48:16Speaker 8: You're comparing apples and oranges, right?
- 48:18Speaker 6: Right, exactly.
- 48:18Speaker 8: Jackie has a bunch of young talent.
- 48:21Speaker 6: Yeah, and there's not going to be layovers. There's not
- 48:23Speaker 6: going to be guys that won't be back.
- 48:25Speaker 2: It's just this year. So how many can you win
- 48:26Speaker 2: this year? And once again, if he could win... Three
- 48:31Speaker 2: games and one of them Texas, he'd salvage the year.
- 48:34Speaker 8: Do we still have red shirts? You never hear of
- 48:37Speaker 8: red shirts.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Or gray shirts. Yeah, you never hear about these red
- 48:39Speaker 2: shirts anymore. You get money for five years and you're gone.
- 48:42Speaker 2: That's the new rules.
- 48:43Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:44Speaker 2: You get green for five years. Forget the gray, forget
- 48:46Speaker 2: the red.
- 48:47Speaker 6: Yes. It's green.
- 48:48Speaker 8: They're all green shirts.
- 48:49Speaker 2: It's all green shirts. How many green shirts do you
- 48:52Speaker 2: have in your wallet? That's what it boils down to.
- 48:53Speaker 6: And how do you, we've talked about this too, but
- 48:57Speaker 6: how do you keep a team together that is not
- 49:00Speaker 6: meeting expectations? that theoretically don't have a lot of loyalty
- 49:06Speaker 6: to the program, right?
- 49:08Speaker 2: They've come.
- 49:09Speaker 6: They like their coaches, but they like the money better,
- 49:13Speaker 6: and they haven't grown up wanting to be.
- 49:16Speaker 8: There's a hand.
- 49:20Speaker 6: But wanting to be an Aggie.
- 49:22Speaker 2: They've come from other places. Go back to your interviews
- 49:24Speaker 2: on the first hour of the two Georgia guys. You go,
- 49:27Speaker 2: why would you leave Georgia to come here? They liked
- 49:30Speaker 2: what was here. They liked me. They liked the coaches,
- 49:32Speaker 2: but once again... That was Gregory, the receiver. How do
- 49:34Speaker 2: you keep everybody together?
- 49:35Speaker 8: But the odds of him staying here for four.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Years is not very good.
- 49:39Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 6: They're not very good.
- 49:40Speaker 2: It's amazing how that works.
- 49:41Speaker 6: Because if he makes it and he's got four other
- 49:44Speaker 6: guys that he's trying to beat out, he'll go somewhere
- 49:47Speaker 6: that'll pay him more that he doesn't have to beat those,
- 49:49Speaker 6: those guys out.
- 49:50Speaker 2: And if Kirby Smart calls and says, Hey, you want
- 49:52Speaker 2: to come home? We'll give you a, we'll give you
- 49:54Speaker 2: a half a million more. You know, there's so many
- 49:56Speaker 2: examples of guys.
- 49:58Speaker 6: Uh, if, uh, Eli Drinkwood's today during his press conference, again,
- 50:02Speaker 6: it's about two minutes. If you have a chance, pull
- 50:04Speaker 6: it up. He's talking about this very same thing. Uh,
- 50:08Speaker 6: He said, grass is not always greener. He said, I
- 50:11Speaker 6: love every one of these guys. I don't expect some
- 50:15Speaker 6: of them to be here next year. He said, that's
- 50:17Speaker 6: the way that it is. But it was a really
- 50:20Speaker 6: good little just two-minute soundbite about how things are now.
- 50:24Speaker 6: I'm thinking about Evan Stewart, who got in trouble this
- 50:27Speaker 6: weekend in Oregon. Oh, did he?
- 50:29Speaker 2: I missed that.
- 50:30Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah.
- 50:30Speaker 6: DUI, you know, and.
- 50:34Speaker 2: What if he'd have stayed here?
- 50:36Speaker 6: Do you think he would have had opportunity to catch
- 50:39Speaker 6: footballs on this year's team?
- 50:41Speaker 2: I think he would have. Yeah, there's no doubt.
- 50:43Speaker 6: They wouldn't have brought Isaiah Horton in, who hasn't done much.
- 50:48Speaker 8: He's been very disappointed.
- 50:50Speaker 2: Dropped a touchdown pass Saturday.
- 50:52Speaker 7: Well, he allowed a pass to be batted away because
- 50:56Speaker 7: he didn't go high point it.
- 50:57Speaker 6: That was one of them.
- 50:58Speaker 8: That was terrible.
- 50:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 8: I mean.
- 51:00Speaker 6: But I'm just, you know, that's just one of thousands
- 51:05Speaker 6: of examples.
- 51:05Speaker 5: That's NIL, though. Yes.
- 51:07Speaker 2: That's what you're looking at.
- 51:08Speaker 6: But the point is, will there be a time ever
- 51:13Speaker 6: where guys look around at all of this chaos and
- 51:18Speaker 6: failure and say, you know, and some guys will.
- 51:22Speaker 2: A handful will say, I think I'm better off here.
- 51:25Speaker 6: Right?
- 51:26Speaker 14: Right.
- 51:26Speaker 6: I think I'm better off staying, if you like the coaches,
- 51:32Speaker 6: if you like your position coach, right?
- 51:34Speaker 2: I think at some point you're going to realize that.
- 51:35Speaker 2: If you like the support of the university.
- 51:37Speaker 11: Right.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Man.
- 51:38Speaker 8: There will be a handful for sure.
- 51:40Speaker 6: The thing about Saban, and he's not the only one
- 51:43Speaker 6: that said that, but when he was recruiting LSU and
- 51:47Speaker 6: he said, we're putting a fence around Louisiana because he
- 51:50Speaker 6: had that one year where he brought all the top
- 51:53Speaker 6: eight players in and ended up winning a national championship.
- 51:56Speaker 6: And he was trying to talk them into coming to
- 51:58Speaker 6: a program that was terrible when he got there. They
- 52:00Speaker 6: didn't know Nick Saban. They didn't care about Nick. Nick
- 52:03Speaker 6: Saban wasn't Nick Saban then. Oh, no. And he said,
- 52:06Speaker 6: you need to make a 40-year decision, not a four-year decision.
- 52:11Speaker 6: Because if you come here and win in your home state,
- 52:16Speaker 6: there'll never be anything like it.
- 52:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:19Speaker 2: And Marcus Spears believed him.
- 52:22Speaker 6: And there was one other kid on offense that believed him,
- 52:24Speaker 6: that was the player. And they ended up winning a
- 52:28Speaker 6: national championship.
- 52:28Speaker 7: That's the thing that they're going to miss out on,
- 52:31Speaker 7: is they're going to miss out on the Aggie Network.
- 52:34Speaker 2: And that's very, very powerful. But you can't tell a
- 52:35Speaker 2: kid that.
- 52:36Speaker 8: No, I know, because they're already making $ 3 million.
- 52:39Speaker 6: Well, that and they're going to the NFL, right? They
- 52:42Speaker 6: don't care about the Aggie Network. They're thinking in their mind,
- 52:47Speaker 6: I don't need that, right? I mean, that's great.
- 52:49Speaker 2: I love it.
- 52:50Speaker 6: But I don't need that because, like you said, I'm
- 52:54Speaker 6: already making money. I'm about to make a lot more.
- 52:56Speaker 8: Well, Marcel Reed is a very, very sharp guy.
- 52:58Speaker 5: Yes, he is.
- 52:58Speaker 8: Well-spoken guy.
- 52:59Speaker 13: Yes, he is.
- 53:00Speaker 7: And he's probably not going to be the quarterback at
- 53:02Speaker 7: Texas A & M next year. But that network will
- 53:06Speaker 7: take care of him as long as, you know, because
- 53:10Speaker 7: he was true to A & M.
- 53:12Speaker 6: Yes.
- 53:13Speaker 7: And so those guys need to think about that because
- 53:16Speaker 7: the reality is Marcel is never probably going to make
- 53:19Speaker 7: $ 3 million in a year again, right?
- 53:20Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 7: He's going to have to go get a real job
- 53:23Speaker 7: because he's not going to be an NFL quarterback. And
- 53:27Speaker 7: he's going to have to go from $ 3 million to
- 53:29Speaker 7: maybe making $ 70, 000 in a first-year job.
- 53:33Speaker 8: And that's going to be– hopefully he's saving his money.
- 53:36Speaker 6: Man, if I made $ 70, 000 when I had my first year.
- 53:39Speaker 8: I made $ 75, 000. I made less.
- 53:42Speaker 2: And, Chip, today when Elka was asked about players going
- 53:46Speaker 2: back to teams they played with, What did he mention?
- 53:49Speaker 6: State.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Your home state. Going back home. That's what matters.
- 53:53Speaker 5: Yep.
- 53:53Speaker 2: And that's what we're talking about. Sometimes if you can
- 53:57Speaker 2: play for your hometown, like you said, LSU, and there's
- 54:00Speaker 2: a lot to be said for that, and a lot
- 54:02Speaker 2: of times people will say, like, man, I should have
- 54:04Speaker 2: stayed with my. Should have stayed home. Should have stayed home.
- 54:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 54:07Speaker 2: It's tough, but some people want to leave home. Yeah,
- 54:10Speaker 2: that's fine.
- 54:12Speaker 6: I mean, it's just a whole different game, and it
- 54:16Speaker 6: has changed everything about the game, but guess what? We
- 54:21Speaker 6: had Saturday, man. I'm not saying we can have another
- 54:25Speaker 6: one this year like that, but that was unreal.
- 54:28Speaker 7: If it's me, I'm going to make sure that Kamario
- 54:32Speaker 7: Taylor has to turn me down next year.
- 54:34Speaker 16: Oh, I understand.
- 54:36Speaker 2: You and about 25 others. And I'd argue now that
- 54:39Speaker 2: we're going to go to 24 teams, there'll even be
- 54:42Speaker 2: more money out there for high school players and for
- 54:45Speaker 2: college players.
- 54:45Speaker 8: I know he's a Mississippi guy, but I'm going to say, hey,
- 54:47Speaker 8: you know what? You can always go back to Mississippi.
- 54:48Speaker 2: I think there's going to be even more money. Are
- 54:51Speaker 2: you going to recruit him? Are you going to offer
- 54:54Speaker 2: to recruit him?
- 54:54Speaker 8: My dollars are not going to be included.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Saban already said, you know, he made a joke. I'd
- 54:59Speaker 2: be over there waiting. trying to get that Mississippi State quarterback.
- 55:02Speaker 2: I mean, it's just what it is.
- 55:03Speaker 8: He will not be at Mississippi State next year, I
- 55:05Speaker 8: would guess.
- 55:06Speaker 2: Boy, if he is. More power to him. He might
- 55:09Speaker 2: have got every dollar in Mississippi that's left. Well, and
- 55:12Speaker 2: he might. He might be worth it. You know, he might.
- 55:14Speaker 2: And if you said he's a Mississippi kid, I mean,
- 55:17Speaker 2: I don't think it's a– I heard he's real loyal
- 55:19Speaker 2: to Mississippi. We'll see.
- 55:22Speaker 6: Maybe he'll go to Ole Miss.
- 55:25Speaker 2: That would make the Egg Bowl fun. Kiffin's not there anymore,
- 55:28Speaker 2: is he?
- 55:29Speaker 6: No, Kiffin's not there anymore. All right, gentlemen.
- 55:31Speaker 10: Oh, wow.
- 55:31Speaker 2: It's a quick hour. I appreciate it.
- 55:34Speaker 8: We killed it again.
- 55:34Speaker 6: We killed it again.
- 55:35Speaker 2: We killed something. We killed time.
