- 0:00Right now. It is time for a hypothetical situation game we play every Friday,
- 0:05and then we made this one up. It's very intense and it's called
- 0:09what do you Do? Play along in your car Amanda as always, ladies,
- 0:14First, are you ready for this? You've threatened me earlier. I
- 0:20just basically said you better answer accordingly, no or else. We're just going
- 0:25to find out, Okay, what you're made of? Where your heart is,
- 0:29It's always in the right place. Here we go. You get a
- 0:32free Super Bowl commercial. It's worth six million dollars. You get to promote
- 0:38one of your endeavors, one of them, so either your DJ company,
- 0:44Pig Presents, Okay, there's go ahead. There's a band what the kids
- 0:51like to call mid Low Standards that was not necessary, and then you have
- 0:57this wildly successful morning Pike and Amanda in the Morning again, super Bowl commercial,
- 1:03prime time, everybody is watching, worth six million dollars. You only
- 1:08get to pick one, so Bike, it's a doozy. This made me
- 1:17the biggest doozy since we've started doing this. What do I do? God?
- 1:25This is going to be a global audience, you know. It's like
- 1:26with the DJ thing, It's like I'm only one man, you know,
- 1:30I don't. It's not going to help me if somebody in India is seen,
- 1:34you know what I mean. The radio show, it's like, yeah,
- 1:37they could all stream in and you listen to our podcast will be post
- 1:41every day. But then again, the radio station on its own, it's
- 1:44an advertising vehicle, so does it need it? And then he got the
- 1:49band Man, Yeah, that's mid mid man pop punk cover band, low
- 1:56standards. You know, I'm actually mad at myself for bringing this up.
- 2:00The shameless plugs that you have right now is so incredible. I mean,
- 2:02this on its own is as valuable as a Super Bowl commercial. Giving me
- 2:07this floor to talk about everything I'm doing. You know what I'm gonna do,
- 2:09Amanda. My friend just told me last night that his wife just started
- 2:14making her own candles and selling them. And as an act of just to
- 2:19help a friend out, I'm going to promote my friend's candle business. No,
- 2:23that's not an option. I gave you three options. Okay, fine,
- 2:27within the band, Sorry, Jan who is making candle? I'm doing
- 2:32the band then, and we're just gonna put it's just gonna be thirty when
- 2:36I get a thirty thirty second and right, it's gonna be its own little
- 2:38halftime show, and we're just gonna let it rip with a live performance.
- 2:43Remember when I said this will be the last What do you do? What
- 2:45a man we ask is fine? I just know priority. We have obviously
- 2:52just fine thousands of listeners and I'll move on. Okay, good, No,
- 2:55you're fine. Really know who you are? Now your turn, Amanda.
- 3:00You order a big, big sub from a sub place. You've done
- 3:02the mobile order, so you gotta go in and pick it up. Now,
- 3:07you, being the cheap o that you are, we opted to not
- 3:12tip when it gave you the option. So when you walk in and the
- 3:15gentleman hands you the order, he looks at you and says, thanks for
- 3:19the tip and wings. So the man take foot long sub. You're very
- 3:28hungry. Yeah, but jeez, what do you do? I look at
- 3:34him and go, you're welcome, and I wink back and I walk out
- 3:39and I house that sub. You do eat the sub? See, this
- 3:43was kind of the thing was like, what if how mad was he?
- 3:46What if he did something? What if there's this extra topping or two?
- 3:53No, I'm gonna eat it. You think I don't know you can't go
- 3:59through life wondering what somebody might have done. That's the concept of this whole
- 4:03segment's I know. Otherwise I don't think I would eat out ever again for
- 4:12sure? If what if you could like see or y, I mean the
- 4:16tip thing like, yeah, you've scorned to this man. You probably have
- 4:19a coming, right, are you ready? Yeah? I'm ready bringing on.
- 4:24I don't know, I'm just a little angry, apologize. Sorry.
- 4:27So you have a great uncle and he just fell into some money, loads
- 4:31of money. He offered to pay off yoursel Did his dad die or what?
- 4:36I don't know the circumstances, bike, but he's got a ton of
- 4:40money. Not many great uncles getting, you know, inherited these days.
- 4:45Maybe he won the lottery, I don't know. I don't know where.
- 4:46Maybe he uh, the crypto King got him. I don't know. I
- 4:50don't know what happened. But he offered to pay off your student loans.
- 4:56All right, all of them. The only catch is you have to give
- 5:00up your gig as the lead guitarist of Low Standards. I don't want to
- 5:03get into semantics here, but I am the rhythm guitarist. I know my
- 5:08friend Cody who is the lead guitarist. He's probably listening going what is she
- 5:11even talking about? And you would probably know that, Amanda. If you've
- 5:14ever come see the band, I've been there numerous times back when they started.
- 5:17Right Actually, the first show I went to, you had a lead
- 5:20guitarist who didn't even plug in his guitar. He was playing a fake guitar.
- 5:25I remember right while that did happen. And I'm supposed to take you
- 5:30guys seriously anyway bike student loans getting paid out okay by my great uncle or
- 5:38or I mean yeah, or you're just gonna be done with LS, which
- 5:42is a mid mid level what is so Pike, Well, this one got
- 5:47muddied up pretty good. But I mean, I don't know how much your
- 5:50loans are by well ll us ever get you to that point? What do
- 5:56you do? Well, Amanda, I'm happy to report that they are not
- 6:00that much and very much payoffable in the near future. So no, I
- 6:06am not I'm not going to take you up on that offer. Oh man,
- 6:10you know, really howls merch must be you know. Funny thing about
- 6:12my student loans is there wouldn't have been really any if I would have just
- 6:16finished college in your traditional four years, but Amanda's. You might remember it
- 6:20took me five and a half thanks to a fair amount of horsing around.
- 6:27Yeah, that's all right. Well, everybody has their own path. I
- 6:30was a five year plan, but I worked full time. Well that's my
- 6:32excuse. But I do know in my heart of hearts that I probably could
- 6:35have just been a better student. But I do blame the work. Amanda,
- 6:40You and your husband Nick are kidnapped at gunpoint. Ball sound to get
- 6:47serious. You're blindfolded. Now, when finally the blindfold is lifted, you
- 6:54find yourself with the abductor at Fargo's Hector International Airport. Now, the man,
- 7:00in a twist of events says, your kids are at home, safe
- 7:03with a babysitter who we have paid for the next week seven days of babysitting,
- 7:09no expense to you. Also, we'd like to offer you a seven
- 7:13day vacation. All expense is paid by me, the abductor, the kidnap
- 7:17man. Well, the only thing is the destination. You don't know where
- 7:23you're going. We have literally put every city in the in the world into
- 7:27a hat, and we're gonna at random draw one out and you'll go there
- 7:30for seven days on vacation. Babysitter at home, kids are taken care of
- 7:36in the babysitter is somebody who trust certified. Yeah, we're not worried about
- 7:41that. So I'm not really worried about the certification per se. Just suck
- 7:44that they're saying, yes, yes, so man could be anywhere, could
- 7:49be Paris, could be Gaza. You don't know, what do you do?
- 8:01Remember the game Bike? I remember that could be a word you have
- 8:03to say, could be whatever city is in Antarctica. I just need some
- 8:07good alone time with my hobby. Take me anywhere are you really? And
- 8:11I think there's a song about it. I'll go anywhere, I know,
- 8:15but like a war torn country. Yeah we'll be fine. You're really gonna
- 8:18risk that? Yeah, we might have to say at the airport for seven
- 8:22days. You're like they would draw the city out and it'd be like Bismarck
- 8:26a minute in the morning, Big ninety eight point seven. I think we
- 8:28all agree we got problems with the phones. I mean I realize it in
- 8:31moments like yeah, I don't know, standing at a urinal and I'm you
- 8:35know, scrolling Facebook in one hand and well, you know, what I'm
- 8:37doing with the other hand. Well that and also you talked about it yesterday
- 8:41you had a brief power outage. Yeah, and uh, I've never gone
- 8:46through such hell three hours without your phone, but it was mainly because your
- 8:52phone died. Well, yeah, that didn't help, but I had nothing
- 8:54else to do. I know, backup, I didn't have a TV,
- 8:56which even now, just only having a TV seems like not nearly not an
- 9:00stimulation. It's crazy, yes, And maybe that is the thing, is
- 9:03that over stimulation, Like you don't it sounds dumb. It's just like having
- 9:07that thing in your hand, like it helps being able to just like grab
- 9:09it. Look, I don't I'm not even really looking for anything. It's
- 9:13touching it. It's a comfort level. It's so weird. I know,
- 9:16even when you're watching TV, like I'll be watching a football game and I
- 9:18just like, you know, I gotta have two things happen. I gotta
- 9:20have one thing in my hand and the TV going. It's pathetic, but
- 9:24not nearly as pathetic as this new research. This just dropped, Amanda.
- 9:28People have found this new study on the adverse effects of phone fixation. One
- 9:31in five people have admitted to taking extended looks at their phone during intimacy with
- 9:41their partner horsing around in the middle of it their phone, they're looking over,
- 9:45rolling over, however, whatever position you may find yourself in, gay
- 9:50and looking at their phone. Now, I don't know if I need to
- 9:52ask. I feel like after like a yeah, afterwards they're just like roll
- 9:58over. You're like, well, I mean it's you know, it's stressed.
- 10:03So you're telling me not once, not never? I don't think so.
- 10:07I mean wild and I mean, I mean we're generally the same in
- 10:11this situation. But when you hear a ding or you hear the vibrate,
- 10:16your brain just like that's all you can think about, right, what is
- 10:18it? No matter what mentality you're in at that moment, you're kind of
- 10:22gore. Who is who? Dat? Does it work? What's going on?
- 10:26Is it an emergency? Somebody comments on my Facebook posts? I gotta
- 10:31know, so you know it's can we speed things along here? I know
- 10:35it could be uh a distraction, yes, but I don't think I've ever
- 10:39just like onn hang on a second, and I'm not gonna let go unless
- 10:45sometimes like there's a phone call or something. If there was, I'm sure,
- 10:48that's your answering phone calls. Though. That's interesting. I have yes,
- 10:52I don't know it was an urgent matter. Well, if you look
- 10:56over on the nightstand, you can see the name on the phone or something.
- 10:58Sure. The results also indicated that these phone freaks are more hooked on
- 11:03the exciting rush of a phone notification than they are on the zing of sharing
- 11:09an intimate moment with their lover. That is really sad, It really is
- 11:13sad. This is where we're at. Study also highlighted seventy one percent of
- 11:16men and women in relationships spend more time on their phones than with their partners.
- 11:20I mean really truly. I mean we talked about the screen time yesterday.
- 11:24That number staggering number for me. There's no way I spend that much
- 11:28time with my life, so right, you know, well, and even
- 11:31when you are together, it's actually putting your phone done. We try to
- 11:33make a conscious effort at times to just be like, hey, after a
- 11:39certain time in the evening, put them away. Let's like play with the
- 11:41kids, hang out and have that. I mean stupid, it's even just
- 11:45eye contact with your kids, you know what I mean. It's amazing to
- 11:48me when you go places, and you just see people just ignoring their kids
- 11:52doing whatever because they're just like locked and loaded on their mind. Now,
- 11:56you and I ought to try that exercise. I mean a little eye contact.
- 12:00We should just go through just just stare at each other. We should
- 12:03start each morning with just a little five minutes of eye contact. That would
- 12:05be really creepy. It would be taken Amanda in the morning. Big seven.
- 12:11Now here's what you need to know. Wow, this is horrific.
- 12:16Parents in Wisconsin's going to be you know, it's gonna be a serious story
- 12:20when Amanda starts like that has a fright na frightning story about their child's candy
- 12:26this Halloween. Okay, I know, I know, pie kid give it
- 12:31us tons of research. He made a presentation for our audience on Monday about
- 12:37how it's not a big deal, don't have to check your kids candy.
- 12:39I was just trying to put your parent's mind garbage at ease because according to
- 12:43the actual data, Amanda, not just social media posts going back to the
- 12:48fifties or is not been on record one case of a child having contaminated candy.
- 12:52We're talking pins, needles, knives, poison, none of the above.
- 12:56What never happened. You better rip that setti up because the in Wisconsin
- 13:01are now warning parents to be careful. There was a nail found embedded into
- 13:05their child's tootsya roll. Oh my god. Fortunately fortunately nobody was hurt.
- 13:11No, was it one of those big long tote rolls or like the traditional
- 13:15Yeah, I don't have the uh graphic of like, I don't know if
- 13:20it was a little to sea roll, if it was a long tooty roll,
- 13:22if it was the nail exactly. I don't have any of the dimensions
- 13:26for you, Pike. I just know that thankfully nobody was hurt. But
- 13:28this is dangerous. Now we're sure it wasn't just the kid stuff in a
- 13:31nail and going on, absolutely not. Why would a kid do something so
- 13:37we've heenous. We think it's a crazy killer man stuff and nails into it
- 13:41yours hoping people just willing really swallow it that and could have cut the kid's
- 13:45tongue. I mean, there's a lot of things that could have I don't
- 13:46know, I mean swallowing the nail, I mean, yeah, cut your
- 13:50tongue obviously on the way down. That's gonna hurt, if not make you
- 13:52choke. But what I'm really concerned about is the exit. Oh my gosh,
- 13:58that to me would be that would's insane. All right, Concordia announced
- 14:03the Concordia Promise, So they announced us yesterday. Starting in the fall of
- 14:07next year, Concordia has the option now they will cover full tuition costs for
- 14:13new students whose families have adjusted gross income of under ninety thousand dollars a year.
- 14:18So it's renewable for up to four years. The college president said,
- 14:22this is a game changer, obviously for families who in the past haven't been
- 14:26able to afford it, and now they were thinking, hey, it was
- 14:28out of our reach, it's not so. Concordia promise includes one hundred percent
- 14:31of the standard full time tuition using a combination of federal and state aid along
- 14:35with existing Concordia scholarships. Housing, food, fees, and other costs are
- 14:39not included. That there is also no GPA requirement either. Well, I
- 14:43mean the bottom line, you have to get into the school, right right,
- 14:46So it's not like just anybody like they're not going to have a gazillion
- 14:50students now. But if there is no GPA requirement, look that just in
- 14:54general, there is to get into the school, you know what I mean,
- 14:56you have to write obviously, not specifically for this promise Concordia has made,
- 15:01but just to get into the school, you have to have some sort
- 15:03of academic qualification, to have something. Yeah, I would think, I
- 15:05mean I even went to Metro State and I think you had to have a
- 15:09three point zero What sure? I mean, MSUM had some standards as well
- 15:13as I was able to weasele your way. But it's great. I mean,
- 15:18dragons, you know you've been put on notice. Yeah, it's time
- 15:20for the MSU and promise. Let's come. And if you could also one
- 15:26up them and apply that to students who graduated. Oh, I don't know.
- 15:30In twenty fourteen, anybody wants to pay for Pike's student loans. It's
- 15:33up for grabs, it really is. Anybody listening right now, you could
- 15:37win his student loans, a business, a wealthy individual, and somebody who's
- 15:43just come into some money after a family death and whatever whatever I need.
- 15:46While you're at it, my husband's are up for grabs as well. Come
- 15:50on, all right, get ready to fall back this weekend it is daylight
- 15:54saving time. The debate continues as to where this is ever going to be.
- 15:58I mean, last year the Senate past it, then the House didn't,
- 16:00so we were just going to keep it the same way. But some
- 16:03states don't do it right, like Arizona still don't. Yeah, I mean,
- 16:06it's just it's a mess. It is. And sleep specialists do say
- 16:08that staying on this time the standard time would be the best option. So
- 16:12we are going to get a little extra sleep this weekend, which sounds fantastic.
- 16:17That would be great. But then of course now it gets dark at
- 16:18three pm or whatever, so and that just starts getting very depressing. I
- 16:23know it really does. Weatherwise, by the way, today sunny Hi,
- 16:27a thirty one opening deer hunting weekend is going on sunny tomorrow, high at
- 16:32forty two. There is a chance of some rain on Sunday, but we
- 16:34could see fifty not bad. Sitting in the tree stand, I no longer
- 16:37hunt. I've given that up. See wouldn't you have wanted last weekend with
- 16:41the little snow on the ground, It will tell you the perfect I'm such
- 16:45a I was such a fair weather hunter because my dad, who is you
- 16:48know, would live in the woods if it was an option. He always
- 16:51wanted to be colder, the better. You know, I'm like, no,
- 16:52because you know, the deer move around or whatever, Like, no,
- 16:56I wanted to be seventy degrees. I want to be in the stand
- 16:57with the short something. So you've you've hung it up. You are no
- 17:00longer deer hunt, no longer know And you know what the main reason was.
- 17:03Because when the time change, which is always the first week in the
- 17:06deer hunting, you know, you have to get up with the sun,
- 17:08so you don't get that extra hour. You you you know what I mean,
- 17:11it's yeah, so I just don't go anywhere because of that. That's
- 17:15why. No, there's just saluer reasons. You need to go to the
- 17:18house and talk to them about that. You're ruining my you're ruining my deer
- 17:23hunting memories house. Now, you can only go so many years not shooting
- 17:27anything. You're like, this doesn't see productive? Oh gosh, all right,
- 17:33you ready, ready, let's see it is piping hot today, No,
- 17:37Amanda Stills, let's see, let's see. Well. I may only
- 17:41be speaking for myself, but I feel like a lot of us who watched
- 17:45and invested our life watching Yellowstone. I mean, it was just one of
- 17:48those things that came in hot. We loved it, and then it just
- 17:52went to shambles. Is that right? As all things? Do? You
- 17:56know what I mean? I know I watch it. They make it so
- 17:57hard to watch. It's like, what is it on Yahoo TV? Or
- 18:00it's on Peacock or no, excuse me, it's on Paramount Paramount plus.
- 18:04I got the Peacock, you got the PA don't have Paramount plus. See.
- 18:08And they tried to entice you a little bit when they added in addition
- 18:12to Yellowstone, they had eighteen eighty three and then nineteen twenty three, so
- 18:18that you could watch all these different shows and have the spinoffs. Well,
- 18:21now the original Yellowstone finally has a date. So one year from now,
- 18:26November twenty twenty four, we'll get the end of the fifth season. So
- 18:30they'll finally wrap up the Dutton family drama round. Oh good, and then
- 18:34I'm over it. No thanks, Well, it's just one of those things
- 18:37you've committed, like you said, a lot of time, so you just
- 18:38wanted to end. Well, now they're saying they're doing two more spinoffs.
- 18:42Oh stop it. So now they're doing twenty twenty four, which is going
- 18:45to follow like present day, what happened with the Dutton family in the saga?
- 18:48And then they're going all the way back to nineteen forty four. There's
- 18:52so many years and they're all overlapping. What's going I don't know. It's
- 18:56very confused. The only thing I met like about twenty twenty four is the
- 19:00the existing characters are supposed to be a part of that. I mean,
- 19:03at what point are they going to get rid of Beth and Rip or any
- 19:06of those people who have We've dedicated our time in there. I don't kill
- 19:08them, I don't care. You don't kill anybody. You just take them
- 19:12to the train station. See, I'm a You know, in these shows
- 19:15they announce these dates, they're so far in the future, Like Euphoria season
- 19:19three is what fivey I just saw that. And they just announced another Game
- 19:25of Thrones. First of all, that one House of the Dragon is coming
- 19:26back this summer, so that's not too bad. But they have another prequel
- 19:30of Game of Thrones in the works. It's like, come on, now,
- 19:33I know. Well, we always say, like, come up with
- 19:36something new, creative. Well they are. It's just especially when you can
- 19:41binge stuff. Remember when you'd have to wait. For instance, the Golden
- 19:44Bachelor. Watched that last night and I have to wait till next Thursday.
- 19:48How's Jerry doing? Is he still with us? Jerry is doing fantastic.
- 19:51He's down to three ladies. They did the hometown dates, the radio Girl.
- 19:55Faith is still a part of it. Faith and Leslie are the fan
- 19:57Favoritespike, Oh, we can chit chat about it later. But I am
- 20:02loving, loving the Golden Bachelor. And if they don't do the Golden Bachelorette
- 20:06with one of these ladies, I'm going to protest. I don't know where,
- 20:08but I'm going to protest. I've never fought for anything in my life,
- 20:11but I will protest. Yes it is. It's Alec Baldwin and Hilario
- 20:15Baldwin. They have seven kids. We knew from I guess baby number four
- 20:19that they were probably vying to do some sort of reality showing traditional births.
- 20:25Was he impregnanting her? And then, you know, I think so,
- 20:29I don't need to explain to you how the birth goes. Thank you for
- 20:32the Birds and the Bees talk this morning. I really appreciate it. After
- 20:34having two kids, I wasn't quite sure how it went down, you know,
- 20:37I mean, because he's you know, he's an elder statesman. They
- 20:41were doing some sort of you know, I think that the last one might
- 20:47have been a surrogate. I'd have to go back and look. I really
- 20:48don't pay a whole lot of attention to them other than the fact that they
- 20:52want to do a reality show. And it's making me laugh because I know
- 20:56that they're trying to like fight all this stuff with the h asked to rust,
- 21:00remember all of that drama, like what if we really do a reality
- 21:03show and it's like, oh, sorry, dad asked to go to court?
- 21:06Now, yeah, he's been convicted of murder. I yea. It
- 21:10just feels really icky. Has anybody ever tried to get a reality show and
- 21:12you not go ooh, that's icky. You know, it's just icky.
- 21:15It's an icky thing to aspire to be. I mean, after John and
- 21:19Kate plus eight, I think we all went ye, you that really did
- 21:22really yes? And then there was Octomom of course, ox to Mom yuck,
- 21:26and then the U the other big big family what's their name, the
- 21:30Doug Kardashians, the Douggers, Dogars, whatever, and then you know,
- 21:33he's a pile of garbage. Show pretty gross. James Burrows, he's one
- 21:38of the directors of Friends. He shared how Jennifer Aniston, Corney Cox,
- 21:41and Lisa Kudra responded to the news of Matthew Perry's death. He said,
- 21:45I had a text going with the girls a day we found out, and
- 21:48they were just destroyed. It was a brother dying just so so sad,
- 21:52just kind of going to show that they were still close. Even though they
- 21:55didn't see each other every day, they all were very very close. Well,
- 21:59you know when he worked together, there was somebody for that long,
- 22:00you just got a bond forever, no matter how much time goes by.
- 22:03Absolutely, the Friends themes sung by the way this jam nearly tripled in streams
- 22:08this week. Oh yeah yeah. The rem brand The boys from the rem
- 22:11Brands are like heyo, No, I'm sure I don't think they're audibily celebrating.
- 22:18That's what they did. They were like heyo. I wouldn't put it
- 22:22past though, Amanda in the Morning on Big Seven. Well, speaking of
- 22:29money, if you're being cheap about it, you might be penalized by door
- 22:33Dash. Have you seen this new thing they're trying. No, DoorDash is
- 22:37testing out a warning Basically, if you're ordering on the app, which we
- 22:40all love, order Little Door Dash, even though you know it's like literally
- 22:42paying double for something I think I've only used an app once to order food.
- 22:48Really, isn't that crazy? I mean it's it's not like I say,
- 22:52it's not you know, financially, I wouldn't say responsible, you know,
- 22:55but if like, given you're the most hungover state and it's your only
- 22:59shot driving, I would pay any number. Just bring me the food.
- 23:03That's hilarious. Okay. So basically if you try to not tip, because
- 23:06this is one of the apps where you're gonna tip before, So basically when
- 23:07you're ordering, it's like, would you like to leave a tip? And
- 23:11if you try to put zero, it'll warn you and say, hey,
- 23:14just so you know, orders without a tip are going to take longer,
- 23:18right, So basically they've given their drivers they're people, the right to choose
- 23:22which orders they want to prioritize. So obviously if there's no tip, that's
- 23:26going to the back of the line, if ever getting paid. And also
- 23:30I would be even more concerned not only about the no tip situation, what
- 23:34that driver is going to be doing to my food or even just like how
- 23:40much I'm gonna get really left? I mean, depending on what I order.
- 23:42I know, But what the problem is, you're tipping before, So
- 23:45it's like, what am I tipping? You know, nothing's happened yet.
- 23:48Yeah, no, that makes sense too. And I, for example,
- 23:51yesterday ordered a mobile pickup from a sandwich place. We'll say okay, and
- 23:57it's one of these places we've talked with the whole tipping situation. It's like,
- 24:02I've gone to this place my whole life, probably the place I've been
- 24:04to the most, and never would you have tipped before. Now they give
- 24:08you the option, right, and it's like, I don't know what I'm
- 24:11because you're not going to titt This is a fast food well that in a
- 24:15lot of times they're making fifteen to eighteen dollars an hour right in the price
- 24:19of it, obviously, like everything's gone way up, so I'm already you
- 24:22know, you're talking about twenty percent of some an already absurd price. Come
- 24:26on, no, it's crazy. I uh. I mean if you even
- 24:30just go to a fast food restaurant. Family of four, and sometimes we
- 24:33even have the kids share a kid's meal where we're going because they're not going
- 24:37to finish it. Well, what one little tip for a little hack.
- 24:40You know, you could just order I see a lot of parents do this
- 24:42with two kids. Just order like an adult entrede and have her share that
- 24:47a lot of times cheaper. You know, Well, it's crazy how much
- 24:49it is. I mean, you could just go through a quick drive through
- 24:52and we're just getting a few basic things over thirty dollars. I mean that's
- 24:56insane. And then if you go to a sandwich, we're talking like fifty
- 25:00bucks. Crazy. You remember when a sandwich a six incher or twelve whatever
- 25:07it was, was three four dollars. Now it's like thirteen. I mean
- 25:11I'm old enough to remember five dollars. Foot launch, oh yeah, let's
- 25:15just say they're no longer in that price range. We've been priced out.
- 25:19But no the place I went yesterday and again not saying which one, but
- 25:22I ordered on the app, and again my principle. Now it's like,
- 25:25I'm not tipping at this place. I'm just not okay. So now I
- 25:27go into the rest. I gotta show my face there. Now there's one
- 25:30guy working, and I got the one mobile order waiting there. It's like,
- 25:34obviously mine, I walk in and I'm not even kidding. I pretended
- 25:37to be on the phone because I did not want that interaction. Well it
- 25:42is even yesterday my husband and I had a quick lunch and it was the
- 25:45same situation where you had to sign and it had an option for a tip,
- 25:51and I'm like, you literally didn't really do anything. I mean,
- 25:56you did your job, which I know I appreciate, trust me, and
- 26:00I get that. There's kind of that fine line. But in a lot
- 26:03of the places people say, well, on like the iPad or that the
- 26:07screen, it's just built into the software. It's like, well, yeah,
- 26:10you can turn it off, you know. I mean, and again,
- 26:12it's not the guy or the girl working right, They're not the ones
- 26:15like, hey, let's turn that you do. It's hard to not feel
- 26:18that little bit of judgment with them. I feel like every time I do
- 26:21anything, they're like, sheeapskate, Oh yeah, it's gonna ask you a
- 26:25couple of questions. You know, you do whatever you want. Obviously,
- 26:27as they've got like the one eye on you with a come on, come
- 26:30on, hit twenty five twenty five percent, turn it out, Pike in
- 26:36a minute in the morning on Big Nutty eight point seven. Well, hey,
- 26:38guys, I'd like to invite everyone please rise and say with me.
- 26:44Bam bam, thank you. Sam. You know it's Friday, which means
- 26:48takes our friends over a gateway Chevrolet. We get to talk to Sam Niederman,
- 26:51your voice of the NDSU Bison. How are you. I'm feeling great,
- 26:55Amanda. Good to see you, guys. Pike please rise, all
- 26:59right, say so, you guys may now be seated. Sam hesteras be
- 27:03seated. You know I'm an official wedding I'm a minister. If you really
- 27:08yeah, really, I have the authority to tell people to stand and sit.
- 27:11You've done this my discretion, Yes, I see. No, it's
- 27:15great to have you. I mean, we're coming off a big, big,
- 27:17hot win versus Murray State. Those guys didn't those dusters didn't have a
- 27:19chance. They did it. No, No, it was an easy,
- 27:25easy one for the Bison. You'll take them, right, you'll take them
- 27:27in this league, it's a tough league. So you got it. And
- 27:30now we're ont of the good stuff. Like I'm not gonna lie. I
- 27:33had been kind of looking ahead to this game that we've got tomorrow down in
- 27:37Brookie. Is it gets south Dakota State, big rematch of the National Championship,
- 27:41big rivalry game. This one's been circled on my calendar ever since coming
- 27:45out here. Yeah, and I'm hoping that we get kind of the Vikings
- 27:48Packers situation that happened on Sunday. That's what I'm minus. The uh,
- 27:52you know, Kirk Cousins. She's forcing just any way to bring it up
- 27:56to the Packers lost. She knows it just hurt. It's me, and
- 28:00that's usually wants to do in life. They're favorited usually when they come and
- 28:03they play the Vikings and it's like that's how SDSU is. Hear me out
- 28:07and now I feel you. Yeah, we're coming, We're going there.
- 28:10We're going down there and we're just gonna smoke them. It's gonna it's gonna
- 28:12be great. I can feel it. I hope so, Amanda. I've
- 28:15actually got a pretty decent feeling about it too, Like I've been having dreams,
- 28:19you know, and oh, hang on, I mean Halloween week?
- 28:22Is there something we need to know about usage positive visualization? That's what I've
- 28:26been trying to do. That's all you get. You're manifesting a little bit.
- 28:29Yeah, is that what they call it manifest Yeah, Qa, Sam.
- 28:32Now football aside, because before this year, when we brought you in
- 28:36from the East Coast to be the voice of the Bison hands selected on a
- 28:38global search Gloe, what are your impressions of the Dakotas between north and South?
- 28:45Which one stuck out to you is maybe like, I don't know the
- 28:48better Dakota. Well, okay, So it's funny you asked that because almost
- 28:52a year ago at this time, I was out in South Dakota at South
- 28:55Dakota State in December because I had a playoff game there for ESPN, and
- 28:59so I went there December third last season. It was a second round playoff
- 29:03game, and we stayed in Sioux Falls and we drove up to the game
- 29:06in Brookings. I was like, yeah, I don't know if I would
- 29:10ever live here. Hear that. Hear that in general, though, you
- 29:18know, because they've been on the main stage, especially the Bison, so
- 29:22you know that they've been favorited for years. It's hard for us to swallow
- 29:26the fact. Then, yeah, they're good. I do. You have
- 29:29to admit you gotta give them respect, You got to give them their flowers.
- 29:33Yeah, yeah, it does. But we we got to get this
- 29:34back. We've got to. I mean Nues lost this game four times in
- 29:37a row, four times in a row, which is UNS. The other
- 29:42two yeah to last year and then in twenty one the fall season the spring
- 29:47season lost both of those. So yeah, this is a big game,
- 29:49guys, It's a big game to get it back on track. And yeah,
- 29:52get back to where the Bison belong. Let's get that rock to Dakota
- 29:56Marker. Let's get it back. What would we do without it? All
- 29:57right, so you have to go down there where you don't want to be,
- 30:02but bring the good energy. We're feeling it, we're excited. What
- 30:06is your prediction. I know it's going to be a close game either way,
- 30:07right, Yeah, I think closer and then some people think, like
- 30:11a lot of people are counting out the Bison in this game. You know
- 30:12a lot of people think stsu wins in a big win. I think this
- 30:17is closer than we think. I like our guys mentality, their mindset.
- 30:19I think they're going to get up for it. It's about playing for pride
- 30:22in this one, right, You got to pick yourself up by the bootstraps,
- 30:26play for a little bit of pride and do it for the Bison teams
- 30:29of old. So I'm hoping we get a Bison win. I'm gonna say
- 30:33NDSU and a classic, close, very close three points. I could see
- 30:37this going overtime. Like I talked about my dreams, my visualizations, I'm
- 30:41seeing like a game winning kick in overtime for Indy History. I know in
- 30:45the background, because this when you have these man when you're manifesting this,
- 30:49Yeah, fantasies, are you doing a play by Yeah? Yeah, jumps
- 30:56just jump out a back, oh yeah, absolutely, yeah, try to
- 30:57prepare for the moment and yeah, I usually just wake up screaming. But
- 31:03sam, my God, have fun down there, but be safe. Get
- 31:07out of there as soon as possible, crime riddled area, get home.
- 31:11Say we'll go back as soon as possible. We'll do guys. I appreciate
- 31:15it, looking forward to a great game. Thanks for having me. Do
- 31:17we need to rise again, pier All rise, bam bam. Thank you, Sam,
