- 0:00Hmmm for turning grey con Dad Utters are Nick Austin Roads the code of free
- 0:22tag. We are less than two weeks from opening kick. We're right around
- 0:29the corner. One more weekend and then official football season is back. Although
- 0:35my Saints are gonna be two and I in the preseason, well, congratulations
- 0:41on me and Tuna on the preseason. It's a big day for you guys.
- 0:45Famous jamis Amos Jamus twenty twenty Vision. Baby, you can't going to
- 0:52feed if you don't start out two and oh, going for three and oh
- 0:56next week. I gotta get to that three and oh in the preseason.
- 0:58That's what's most important. I honestly forgot James Whiston was still the league to
- 1:03be like straight up for good until you just said it right now, I
- 1:07didn't. You're watching on TV, it's like, oh, how's Derek car
- 1:08looking? Thinking, you know, preseason maybe getting there. Across my mind,
- 1:12James Whizz is on the roster. What's so funny is the stadium they're
- 1:17playing in LA at the Chargers Stadium, and it sounds like there's more Saints
- 1:22fans there than Chargers fans just from the TV. That's how it's always been
- 1:26Every Chargers game is away game, even in the preseason, even in the
- 1:32preseason until he had the best season of all time, three touchdowns, thirty
- 1:37picks, back retreat, baby, Well, we have a lot to get
- 1:45to today. We are going to give you are three things we are most
- 1:51excited for for the upcoming Dak will do upcoming football season. But Austin and
- 1:57I are going to be very Huskers pacific. You can go wherever you want
- 2:01with yours because I know you're gonna love the Texas Longhorns here in a little
- 2:07bit. And then we're gonna do the Big ten West and go through the
- 2:13wind totals, give our predictions and our thoughts on our side of the conference.
- 2:19So we are going to jump right into Dak. As we all know,
- 2:23huge Texas fan. He loves making bets and losing. We know that
- 2:30for a fact. That's not even all jokes aside, that's a fact.
- 2:34And so he lost a bet and here he goes for ninety seconds to give
- 2:38all of his love to the boys down south in Austin, the Texas Longhorns.
- 2:46All right. Well, last night I was sitting there thinking, I
- 2:49was like, goh, you know, might one of the best teams in
- 2:52nation Texas Quinn yours. He's so freaking good, he's probably he's probably the
- 2:58best quarterbacks of all time. And I'll tell you what, one thing's for
- 3:02sure. They're gonna just absolutely smack Oklahoma like you think last year is bro
- 3:07forty nine. Oh, it's gonna be worse. I cannot agree more,
- 3:13Dak. I think you're on a roll right on the point. I love
- 3:16that Burke Orange dude. Yeah, it's you know I was all wrong about
- 3:21him there there? For sure? You get in the playoff, didn't you?
- 3:23Hunter? Yeah, and I have a bet with you. So you
- 3:27think I probably won that bad, don't you? Yep? Easily. You
- 3:30just want to do your do your loss now? Not huh. You can
- 3:38sing r fight song right now? Wasn't that? It wasn't that last year
- 3:43and Steve Starkisan got in trouble because he didn't sing it. Maybe remember though
- 3:53I don't know. I with a big Texas fan I am. I'll just
- 3:55sing it all the time. I love it. Are they gonna win the
- 4:00SEC next year? I was waiting for it. You kind of teat it
- 4:03up. It sounded like you were ready to sing it, so that sounded
- 4:06like not quite yet. I need to work on the lyrics a little bit,
- 4:11but I'll have it down. Are they gonna win the SEC next year?
- 4:15Oh oh yeah, easily with how stacked their team is. It's there's
- 4:19no doubt. That's That's enough Texas talk. I'm not going now on ninety
- 4:26seconds like you kind of go pukero quick. It looks like you did enough
- 4:32of that this weekend only once you made it about ninety seconds and you didn't
- 4:43get two in the detail on anything though. That was ninety seconds way too
- 4:47long, right there? All right, enough Texas talk. Things were excited
- 4:56for this Husker football season. This could be all. We could go a
- 5:02whole bunch of different directions with this, I think to being very player specific,
- 5:08coach specific, schemes specific, or it can be very broad as far
- 5:13as program it can be. I don't know, so, Austin, you
- 5:17just lead lead us off here all that you go through yours and we'll elaborate
- 5:23as we go. All right, I'm glad, I'm gonna go. First
- 5:27thing I'm most set for this season. It's Nebraska back in Colorado for a
- 5:32game against a good old Big twelve rival. I am pretty Jazz. It's
- 5:38gonna be early in the season, so our expectations haven't been completely destroyed by
- 5:42a bad offensive line. It's gonna be a fun game. Coach Primes gassing
- 5:46it up, Coach Rules kind of trying to gas it up by not gassing
- 5:50it up. And I'm just in it's big newn kickoff, I believe,
- 5:57is that correct? M So I'm just I'm excited to watch the game.
- 6:01I'm excited for a team that all Nebraska fans actively dislike and make fun of.
- 6:10And I hope we can go down and win, which would make me
- 6:15a little bit more excited about it. But again, it's early enough in
- 6:16the year that I won't be like, oh my gosh, we're gonna go
- 6:18in there and lose to Colorado. I might still be optimistic about our team.
- 6:23Then they're not like husking fans in the stadium, right, They're gonna
- 6:29try no red. I'll be very interested to see, which I mean.
- 6:36I think both road games here to open the season are gonna have a lot
- 6:41of red in the stadium. I've heard a ton of people going to Minnesota
- 6:45already, and I think Colorado is going to be very similar. But you're
- 6:49excited to get piss bombs thrown atches. Is that what you're saying, I'm
- 6:53not going I'm watching on TV. No. I think that's very valid point,
- 7:02and I'm very excited about that as well. I think a lot of
- 7:05Oscar fans are maybe we'll make a trip down there just impromptu after we want
- 7:14to know against Minnesota. Yeah, I'm just yeah, Like like when I
- 7:18look at the schedule, that's probably the game I'm most excited about as the
- 7:21Colorado game, which is a pumber because it's week two. But what what
- 7:28do you guys think about dion Son? He looked great at with the Jacksonville
- 7:31State wherever he was. I mean, I think he'll be good. I
- 7:41am. I'm interested to see him played just because he you know, jackson
- 7:44State was not Power five, so the quality of competition that they were playing
- 7:49is not the same level. But also they're playing in the Big twelve,
- 7:59So I I just I really don't know. I think I think there's a
- 8:01chance that what they're doing works. I think there's a chance they could be
- 8:05really good. I also think there's a chance that it's not gonna work at
- 8:09all, and Nebraska could beat them by beat him by thirty or forty.
- 8:15So I think there's a wide range which makes this game so intriguing to people
- 8:18because no one really knows both programs what's going to happen this year and what
- 8:24quality of talent, what these cochers are going to do with that talent that
- 8:28they have. It's just a wide range of outcomes and they could go either
- 8:33way. And I think blowouts either way too. I would not. I'd
- 8:37be it would suck, but I would not. I could see us be
- 8:41getting beat thirty eight to twenty one. I mean, if if what he's
- 8:46doing over there proves to work, it could happen. I know Dak early
- 8:48on he said we're beating Minnesota and losing the Colorado. Are you still sticking
- 8:52to that yep't se're pretty high on them then yeah, I think I actually,
- 9:01I think his son's a hell of a quarterback, and he might Okay,
- 9:05he's not the best Pack twelve quarterback, but I think his second best.
- 9:09Oh, I would not go that far. I'm not gonna mention the
- 9:13best one because he's a traitor. But I mean, the Pac Tols packed
- 9:20with quarterbacks, I don't I think really good Cab Williams obviously the Pack twelve
- 9:33is part of the Quarterback Conference this year. Sure the Big ten Panics and
- 9:37bone Nick tap ten years left eligibility too, And it's yeah, all right.
- 9:43I was number one for Austin number two. Oh, I'm doing all
- 9:48three of mine. I thought we were approtating. I I am most excited
- 9:54to see our new offensive scheme. I'm curious because Matt Rule kept talking how
- 10:01he's going to run the ball. We have a relatively deep running back room.
- 10:05We have a mystery quarterback, a mystery quarterback. We know who our
- 10:07quarterback is, but we don't know how good our quarterback is. And he
- 10:13suppose you would think he's true Heisman candidate, not some bad odds based on
- 10:20the Husker media. I mean, so I am actually interested. We got
- 10:24some clarity this week on who o RB one is and Anthony Grant's RB three,
- 10:28and he was our best running back last year, so Gay Irving's RB
- 10:31one. Cording to Matt Rule, I want to see Thomas Fidoni. Our
- 10:35tight ends are healthy, Eric Gilbert, we got we just I don't people
- 10:43keep gassing up our offensive weapons to an extent. Obviously there's some depth issues,
- 10:48but the top talent. People keep saying it's really good, and I
- 10:52have no idea what Marcus Setterfield is going to do. I'm excited to see
- 10:56what the changes from why Ash year because I think our offense has been pretty
- 11:01good for the most part. We just haven't gotten it done in the fourth
- 11:05quarter, so I don't know. My honorable mention was that we have a
- 11:11fullback on the depth chart. I was decited for that, Yeah, but
- 11:15the offensive scheme is like, I'm not going to our debate this and take
- 11:22the opposite side because it is intriguing, But I guess I'm not as excited
- 11:24for it just because of that lingering offensive line. Like I get there's all
- 11:30of this. We do have potential and I think pending health with a lot
- 11:35of these guys to have something exciting on offense, But unfortunately I know that
- 11:43i'm excited for it because I just don't think our mind's gonna be able to
- 11:46do whatever we try to do. Maybe, yeah, I agree, maybe
- 11:48the word exciting isn't It's one of the things I'm most anticipating, which isn't
- 11:54quite this ex same as excited, I guess in that sense where it's the
- 12:00thing I'm most looking forward to see how it works out. Am I excited
- 12:03because by am I really excited because there's that part of me that's like,
- 12:05this could be a nightmare, but I'm it's one of the things I'm most
- 12:09anticipating. Yeah, I had that number one on my list. I'm really
- 12:15excited to see what the new offense looks like. I think it'll be interesting
- 12:20too if based our outload the system right away and doesn't work and they'll change
- 12:24it up, or they're doubles keeper one with the same one. I mean,
- 12:30we talked a lot about cross lack of identity at what we were trying
- 12:33to do. I'll be interested to see if we have some sort of identity.
- 12:41What we think it could be is maybe more basic couple tight end heavy
- 12:46sets, but we have some weapons outside we think potentially, but I don't
- 12:52know. There's definitely a level of intrigue there. But for me that what
- 12:58didn't make my list because of the offensive one, which I get the offensive
- 13:03line is definitely not something I'm excited about. But that is all what system
- 13:09is rule trying to run this year. Rther like starting out, is he
- 13:13going spread or is he going We don't know. We don't know. That's
- 13:18why it's a little bit intriguing. Sadder Fields ran more of a very simple
- 13:24one back split. Yeah, running passing, he was he doesn't really lean,
- 13:31run heavy or pass heavy. I wouldn't say it's traditional pro, but
- 13:35it's more pro than spread. But and I think we have a quarterback that
- 13:39can run the ball, so also incorporating that somehow, and I think that's
- 13:46gonna be a big part of our offense. If it's going to be successful,
- 13:48He's gonna have to rush. I mean, like we talked about last
- 13:50week, like first seventy to one hundred yards, I think a game for
- 13:54us to have a successful offensive game overall because he because he ran spread a
- 14:01Baylor, but you basically have to there. Wow. Yeah, especially Big
- 14:05Big twelve. I mean, I think a lot of styles is that way,
- 14:09and I think Big ten has some of those teams. And we'll see
- 14:13where we fall on the spectrum of ground and pound versus air raid. Now,
- 14:20Austin, what's number three? This one was more of just a college
- 14:24football one because I had a couple other Nebraska ones. But I also I'm
- 14:28excited for the final year of the Pac twelve. I think it's gonna be
- 14:33actually a pretty good year, like a fun year for like to go out
- 14:35on the PAC twelve. I think it's gonna be pretty competitive at the top.
- 14:37I don't think there's gonna be dominance, and I just it's just the
- 14:43last year for the Pac twelve mans, their swan song. This is their
- 14:48moment. So much passion for late night Pac twelve football. I love it.
- 14:54No coogs. They love beating up on themselves. They do. They
- 15:00really got shot the playoff. They just beat them. They produced some of
- 15:03the most fun games though, they really do. The game of the year
- 15:07was Utah beating USC last year. That was awesome. The PAC twelve in
- 15:16combination with all the conference realignment and the new playoff that's coming next year,
- 15:22this really will be the last year of what we've gotten to know is normal
- 15:26college football. The structure, so it is going to look very very different
- 15:31in the key talking points of postseason and conferences are going to change a lot
- 15:39next year. Which, yeah, so last year of the hurrah for the
- 15:45PAC twelve. Uh Dak you already said you're number one was the Husker offense
- 15:52and what rule and Sadderfield planned to do? What's your number two? I'm
- 15:58goin all Husker stuff here on this list. So my number two is that
- 16:02see if seams can actually pass the ball. One. I appreciate you going
- 16:07because he probably would have had three Oklahoma things. We gotta sit here and
- 16:10listen to that. For we've just been silent. You would have been like,
- 16:12I'm really excited to watch Oklahoma's defenses here and Hunter and I would just
- 16:15sit here silently, and then you'd be like, Okay, I'm really excited
- 16:19Oklahoma's offense this year. Anyway, Sorry, Jeff Simms sparing uts, I'm
- 16:26really excited to doing Gabriel win Heisman. Okay, so Sims, I don't
- 16:36I know only he only played seven games eight. You're gonna need him.
- 16:41You're gonna need him throw more touchdowns than he did. You're gonna laugh when
- 16:45he averages two picks a game. That's all you're waiting. Oh, I
- 16:48can't wait. I will have a parade going that day. But what,
- 16:55Dak, what if your reality comes true where we don't to pass the ball,
- 17:00we just go to the triple option? Well that's what I would run.
- 17:04I think that's your best bet. But we'll see you after you throw
- 17:07them out there. A couple of times passing the ball around these two or
- 17:10three picks, and anyway he Ray Watson was best weapons. I don't know.
- 17:18I'm sure he'll have a game with two or three picks. There's that
- 17:22that is there's no doubt in my mind that will happen at some point this
- 17:26year. I will say with simms from a physical wook, he's got the
- 17:37QB look from what we've had. Casey Thompson was five ft ten like no
- 17:45Taylor Martinez, no, Adrian I could say he got there, but he
- 17:51still looked more like a runner versus a true quarterback. I think Sims has
- 17:57the shoulders and the the physical structure build. Yeah, Tannarly have that for
- 18:07sure. I mean he can live a little bit better than Tenderly, though
- 18:14he does. That is a great point, probably since like Joe Ganz kind
- 18:21of had that looked a little bit like guys like that. We haven't had
- 18:23one a true QB looking structure back there for a while. Adrian I said,
- 18:30probably the closest, but yeah, I agree. All right, what's
- 18:36two, what's three? Three? I guess yeah, Valentino's Pizza in the
- 18:41stadium. Heyo, let's go Pepperoni. What one'd you get? Hamburger,
- 18:51Hamberer. It's the best in the stadium. I don't really like it,
- 18:55like from the restaurant, but I don't know what they do with there.
- 18:59It is freaking great. Okay, hold on, I hope this is true.
- 19:07I heard something that it's gone now. No, no, you gonna
- 19:11look it up too. I think I heard something with that, and I
- 19:15can't remember if that's true, and I really hope it is, because Dak's
- 19:21both excited for is going to be ripped away? Did you see Hail Varsity
- 19:29shutting this doors? No more? Hail Varsity magazine? Interesting? Maybe I'm
- 19:36not seeing anything. Maybe someone can confirm this, but I swear I heard
- 19:41something on the radio or saw something a couple of months ago about it.
- 19:47But I'm not sure that Dak. It is great. The Valentinos is great,
- 19:52especially after a few beers pregaming and getting into the game, like just
- 19:56getting a big old slice of pizza. I sometimes do runs up. It
- 20:02goes back and forth. Yeah, what is what's the go to stadium snack
- 20:06stadium food? Is it the typically? I mean Dak's obviously Valentinos. I
- 20:11think I usually go pizza too. Yeah, usually in a bottle of water,
- 20:17supper up a little bit. I love, I love going to stadium,
- 20:22Gramma's Lives, pizza, watching helped plays, leaving a backtailgate. You
- 20:29know you can get the pizza on the outside without buying the ticket, right,
- 20:32Oh yeah, but you got to go into experience the tunnel walking stuff.
- 20:37And if I've gotten by the first quarter, it's a perfect game.
- 20:40That's fair, all right. My three things here kind of all over the
- 20:47place. We can really be excited about a lot of things because there's a
- 20:52lot of unknowns. It's all unknown. I mean, really, do you
- 20:57want to think about it that way? So my number one is kind of
- 21:03the counterpoint to your offense is the defense. I'm very intrigued at this what
- 21:08I think it'll be a risk reward three three, five that could produce a
- 21:15lot of negative plays and or force a lot of turnovers, but also maybe
- 21:19giving up some gashing runs or some slants across the middle. So I'm just
- 21:26very excited to watch it and see how it schematically works and matches up with
- 21:32some of these Big ten opponents, and especially week one against Minnesota, like
- 21:36we're gonna know, we're gonna find out a lot right away if this can
- 21:41work. And it might not work every play, but there might be sometimes
- 21:44it works, sometimes it does. But we're gonna know a lot if we
- 21:47just can go all in on this or just scrap it because and we're not
- 21:52going to scrap it, I don't think, because that's all this coach knows
- 21:53how to do, Tony White. But I'm very excited and intrigued by it
- 21:59because hopefully we can get some big plays out of it. I just feel
- 22:02like our defense, like when was the last time we had a huge pick
- 22:04six or a huge fumble recovery that just changed the momentum of the game,
- 22:10Like it just doesn't happen. It happens to us a lot. No,
- 22:15No, we what happens is it does happen, but then the next possession
- 22:18we usually fumble or turn it over as well, so the moment the momentum
- 22:22quickly changes back. Yeah. I pready get my thoughts on three three three
- 22:32three five said that ten times past, but yeah, because the last year,
- 22:37what try it? Three three five three three five three five, I
- 22:42can't do it. Let's think we have sobriety, Testy every time you come
- 22:47on the pod, make sure you haven't been drinking all day. Once thread
- 22:51Zone starts, there's really no guarantee on Sundays. Yeah, the Vikings ran
- 22:55it last year and I saw it behind you on the TV. They gave
- 22:56up the dr run, so I'm glad they got that figured out. My
- 23:03number two is something that we've talked about a lot, and it's very broad.
- 23:10But the expectations for this program this year, everybody's has a very wide
- 23:18range of that. So like we have the goul A drinkers that are like
- 23:21up at nine wins and Rules gonna get us going right away because we were
- 23:25so close last year. We just needed these little fixes and tweaks to get
- 23:27us over the hump. There's those people. There's the people that think Rule
- 23:33neat is we have to have a complete reset, and that might come with
- 23:36three wins this year. There's gonna be a wide range of reactions from the
- 23:42media, from the fans, depending outcomes of games, the postgame press conferences.
- 23:49Are people going to be patient with Rule. Is there gonna be a
- 23:53lot of bantering if we lose to Purdue in the middle of the year,
- 23:57or is it gonna be positive? Like I'm very excited for all of that
- 24:02drama to just unfold and see what happens and the fans, the media,
- 24:08the coaches. I like, how are they going to react. Is we're
- 24:12all gonna come out with a very calm demeanor and just what it happened?
- 24:17Or is he gonna get defensive if things don't go right? If things go
- 24:21well, is he gonna be on cloud nine? Like? What what is
- 24:25going to happen? Depending the season with all the reactions and outcomes, Dad,
- 24:30do you think at some point during the season we're gonna get We're gonna
- 24:33have a podcast open with I just need a rant for five minutes about this
- 24:37coaching staff and their decisions. Oh yeah, late game plays. Do you
- 24:41think that's gonna happen? Or do you think Hunter's gonna be patient all season?
- 24:47Is he gonna be one of these people that he's excited to see?
- 24:49It depends? I think I think if you have a really bad failures in
- 24:55Northern Illinois, I think Hill want to coming and rant about that. Really,
- 25:00you know, I think Hunter will be patient for the first half.
- 25:03But if we see that's what's exciting about it is. I don't know what
- 25:07I'm gonna we don't even know how you're you're we're going to react. I've
- 25:10I've told myself how I'm gonna react up until the season starts, until we
- 25:14start seeing results. And I'm not going to jump on the train that this
- 25:17whole rule thing is gonna work. But I don't know when I'm going to
- 25:19start making the decision of whether I am on it or not. Like right
- 25:23now, I'm neutral. So I don't know if that it's gonna take six
- 25:27games, if it's gonna take a full year, two years, Like,
- 25:30I have no idea where my brain's gonna go with that. And I'm not
- 25:33the only one, Like I think some people have decided this rule thing is
- 25:36gonna work. Good for you if you've already decided that after playing a full
- 25:40zero games. And I think some people have given up on the Huskers and
- 25:45I've switched to other fan bases yet, So just you see Oklahoma, Yeah,
- 26:00big Oklahoma fan? Now? Or what's going on here? Yep?
- 26:02You got me, Dak closet Oklahoma fan? No, what what rule need
- 26:04to do? Come out of gate? He needs to go first, Brack
- 26:07on press conference, say the big ten game change for us. Just start
- 26:11quoting Frost, that would be hilarious. I don't coach players, he will
- 26:15get cold, like, yeah, I haven't blaming the last last staff and
- 26:21oh man, like if that started happening again, that would get me.
- 26:26I would get me fired up. I wish she should just come out and
- 26:32doing like tongue in cheek, like we'll play some game in November and he'll
- 26:33be like, yeah, I want to make sure all my guys had coats,
- 26:37you know. I wanted to make sure my guys are nice and warm
- 26:38with they're warming up, and you know, I don't want my guys being
- 26:41out there coaching cold. I don't want like coaching cold players something you know,
- 26:45a little tongue in cheek, that's what I want. I will say
- 26:49that. I guess what I what will get me humped or what I would
- 26:55like to see. Results. I think they do matter. They definitely matter,
- 27:00clearly. We've talked about that with Frost. And you have to win
- 27:03because even if you're losing close games, you're not winning. And that's what
- 27:07needs to happen over time. This year. I think we need to focus
- 27:14on winning the moments, winning getting better every day, I mean truly sticking
- 27:18to that day by day theme and not worry as much about did we score
- 27:23on our first three drives? Like are we getting better or getting closer to
- 27:29that? And getting better every practice, learning from every game. I think
- 27:33that's the message that I want to be feeling. I mean even after game
- 27:37one, after game six seasons over, like did we get there? And
- 27:44I think we will be pretty good post because he's done pretty well as far
- 27:47as like press conferences so far of here's what I saw that we've improved on.
- 27:52Here's where we need to keep working, which is nice. The only
- 27:56problem with that, I guess that people are gonna find that's coach speak and
- 28:00people are gonna say, oh, he's just he's just saying he's just talking
- 28:03like a coach and and real does a good job. But it's gonna be
- 28:07perceived as that if we aren't winning games to some people, and if we
- 28:11are winning games, it's gonna come off as everything's fixed and we're back when
- 28:18reality that's not the case. If we're winning games this year, we still
- 28:22have to look and say, Okay, how do how are we still getting
- 28:25better? Because otherwise we're gonna get stuck in a loop of mediocrity again,
- 28:27right, we're winning games because we're great. We're probably winning games because we're
- 28:32good to the other teams. Let's let your last than good, and we're
- 28:34not. We're not anywhere near mediocrity right now. So getting back there I
- 28:38think is the first step. But let's see what happens when we get there.
- 28:41It could be this year. I don't think it will be, but
- 28:44it could. It could be next year, in two or three years.
- 28:47Like what are we doing to build on that and not just say, oh,
- 28:48we're back to being eight an eight win team, that's great. So
- 28:52what a little off the rails there, dak Any comments on that? I
- 28:59can say, what are you gonna do? If you if you do them
- 29:02possible start fiving on beat Michigan. That now next Sunday after We're going bulling
- 29:07baby. That's why I'm gonna be saying we can. It really would be.
- 29:15I mean that that has a very very small marginal chance of happening.
- 29:18If we're four and no heading into the Michigan game, then we can talk
- 29:21about really scenario but not good about being Michigan. But if we go four
- 29:26and over our first four games, all right, then I think we can.
- 29:29I mean, they'll definitely be some hype, but once again, it's
- 29:32it's sitting back into reality and saying, are we are we winning the moment?
- 29:34Are we still getting better? We're not. We're not back because you're
- 29:38four. No, it means nothing that we're four. No, Okay,
- 29:45my last one here is rule we Actually it kind of ties back to this
- 29:53rules coaching style during the game, after the game, his demeanor, what
- 29:59kind of coach to see like? And will he be at Nebraska? We
- 30:02have seen clips I guess of him in the NFL. Is he gonna have
- 30:06this like calm, just chill personality. Is he gonna be a bow yeller
- 30:11and a screamer? Like? What kind of is he gonna be in every
- 30:15huddle? Is he gonna being players during the game or is it just goodine?
- 30:22That's what I love watching during games because yeah, you can just watch
- 30:26a game on TV and get a lot of that, But I love in
- 30:27between plays and timeouts halftime. I just love watching all the interactions because I
- 30:33think that tells you a lot about a team's culture, about how they structure
- 30:37practices, how they're organizational leadership is formed. Like you can tell that by
- 30:44how a coaching staff and how players, how they communicate during games. So
- 30:49I'm excited to see what that looks like. Because under Frost, that was
- 30:55I think the first red flag. It was the Purdue game. I believe
- 31:00not last years, his third year that I watched that Perdue game and I
- 31:04that was the first red flag. I'm like this, we need to be
- 31:07done with this. I'm like it was a third quarter and watching our sideline,
- 31:11I'm like that we're done. We're done with Frost, And that was
- 31:15the first time I came to that conclusion. So I'm excited to watch it
- 31:22this year because we don't know how rule is gonna be. Is he gonna
- 31:23be yelling at officials, how active is he during games as a leader of
- 31:27this program, because a football coach is a very unique coach where you're not
- 31:33really hands on in the play calling unless you want to be. So you're
- 31:36more just a CEO leader of men and you can put yourself where you want.
- 31:41So that was probably my most excited thing that I'm ready to watch here
- 31:47this season. I will say, those are the best texts I get from
- 31:51you during the game. It's it's the sideline action I can't see on TV.
- 31:59I mean that's the insights I guess that I like going to games is
- 32:02watching Like, for example, I went going to the Illinois game that we
- 32:07lost a couple of years ago out in Champagne. The way that Bilama was
- 32:14walking into the locker room with this player with this arms around him walk,
- 32:17you know, talking to him, coaching him, getting real with them into
- 32:21half, him coming out a halftime like I was like, oh shit,
- 32:23like we're not winning this game. Belma. Belm is gonna be a good
- 32:28coach, and look at the Illinois program where he's got him going in a
- 32:31very good direction. He doubtely won't be as crazy as Bow was. I
- 32:38think I don't think so. I think he'll be because Mike Riley really Wasn't
- 32:45he was like huper column, Wasn't he as all the time? Did he
- 32:49ever get fired up besides saying hip hip hoorade No No. So I think
- 32:53rulell be in between Bow and Mike Riley. He'll get after players. Frost
- 32:59like wanted to be this chill personality like I'm too cool to yell at refts
- 33:06and then when the when he had to like actually go off, he just
- 33:09went off, went off on a raft. He looked like he was blaming
- 33:14them for everything, which he probably was. Frost definitely thought there was no
- 33:20show he ever get hired from here. That's that's kind of way I felt
- 33:24like he acted. Yeah, I think reality stuck in this last couple of
- 33:29years. I mean, I just think he was like, oh, and
- 33:31he tried to fight for his position once he started trying to coach hard,
- 33:35and that gave I think fans a little sign of hope, like, oh
- 33:37my gosh, you're finally fighting first job. But it was a little too
- 33:42late. He'd already lost the culture of maybe fighting his golf game eight Margherite's
- 33:50deep every day. Yeah, all right, a few minutes left. We'll
- 33:58do this rapid fire here, guys. We're gonna go through the big ten
- 34:01west wind totals. We will talk a lot about these teams because we play
- 34:07all of them this year, so we will go through them more in depth
- 34:12as we get closer to them. But let's do this thing. It's going
- 34:16to be quick. You can add your color for about ten seconds and then
- 34:22we're moving on. So let's start with Let's start with Northwestern wind total of
- 34:30three dak ere up I AM one and eleven I'm gonna take kind of take
- 34:39a push at three d. I think three seems reasonable. No, you
- 34:45gotta go over or under. Actually, we'll set it at three and a
- 34:46half. All right. I was gonna say change the two and a half.
- 34:52I'm going over with Northwestern. I think something with the rallying around a
- 34:58new coach. I don't know. Let's move this first of the world Purdue,
- 35:04another new coach, Shrine Walters five and a half. Their win total
- 35:08eight four. Whoa, I'm taking the under. I I I'm gonna go
- 35:20under two, very slightly, I think missing losing their quarterback, trying to
- 35:28find a new system here, very slightly under five wins for Purdue. Let's
- 35:34go oh, let's go Minnesota six and a half. I've seen some sevens.
- 35:39Let's go six and a half. For the purpose of the pod.
- 35:44What do we got? Eight and four? Give me the under people are
- 35:54very bearish on them. I'm going under two on Minnesota. I still on
- 36:00leave. Danner Morgan is not need running out there, though I think he
- 36:02is in disguise mustache. I'll see it to believe it. My name's Ander
- 36:07Morgan. Brother. Let's go the Illinois fighting a line. I at six
- 36:17and a half. I'm starting I'm going over. I love it. Favorite
- 36:21bet of the Big ten Games, No what I say? I think.
- 36:28I was like, holy shit, I think there might pick to win the
- 36:35West too. Actually, I'm with you. I'm taking the over as well.
- 36:37I thought you said eleven wins and I would like go off on them.
- 36:42Shot cool boy, I got him seven and five. We're all over.
- 36:47You're right. It's a great bet. I love it, Yo,
- 36:52Brett Blama. Our favorite neighbors, the Iowa Hawk guys. They are at
- 37:00seven and a half. Brian Ferrens have the quota and bringing in. Give
- 37:07me the under man, Give me the under I have eight and four for
- 37:14them too. Damn you got everyone winning death. Yeah I must. I
- 37:19must have under a big time on the East. I think everybody. Austin
- 37:23was definitely the over on the East. I remember that. Yep, that's
- 37:27why, because I was under on the West. Man, I'm not feeling
- 37:30good about the West. Give me the unders on. Well, what's hard
- 37:34is they're gonna be at Iowa State. Give me the unders in Iowa.
- 37:39This is the year Brian Ferrens gets fired. Now I'm changing it. I'm
- 37:45changing it. I'm changing it. Give me the overs. In Iowa,
- 37:49I think they're going eight. Yep, just because of the QB change.
- 37:52I think there. I think he's gonna get desperate and start slinging it around,
- 37:55and maybe that means bad things for Iowa. But they have a very
- 38:00easy schedule. They do schedule. Last, but not least, the Badgers
- 38:07from Wisconsin. Luke Fickle, new head coach, maybe a brand new system,
- 38:13but still a dominant running back in Braylon Alan win in that win total
- 38:16at eight and a half under eight, I think the one. I think
- 38:22these lines are very good, but I take eight for Wisconsin. I am
- 38:27at ten. Two Jesus Christ Stack, they have old the old al you
- 38:32boys get QB for him. I'm going under on the Badger's progression year.
- 38:38The West is we talked about this briefly. It's just chaotic. Anybody could
- 38:45really win this division, which I think we're included in that, but we're
- 38:49towards the bottom. But it's just there's there's no powerhouse. The three powerhouses
- 38:52are in the East and they are all gonna slaughter the winner coming out of
- 38:57the West. I totally agree, all right, we will be back here
- 39:02in a few days, getting closer the start of the season. Get pumped,
- 39:07go big, read deb Are, Don't do It, Dack Bloomer sooner.
- 39:14I love that burnt orange dude,
