Latest / JustIN Time / The Failure That is Brian Kelly
Transcript
- 0:00Best day of my life was Sunday, October 26th when I sat there
- 0:05and refreshed Twitter for five hours waiting to hear news of
- 0:08either Joe Sloan or Brian Kelly getting fired and when I heard
- 0:10it was the big dog in charge, Bryant.
- 0:13Not even the big dog, more like the little kitten in charge in
- 0:18that he was getting fired. I jumped up.
- 0:21I stayed up until midnight that night.
- 0:23I was so excited. Welcome into a special edition
- 0:26of the Just in Time podcast. I'm your host, Justin.
- 0:28And let's talk about Brian Kelly being fired.
- 0:33We're going to talk about Brian Kelly being fired.
- 0:35We're going to talk about former players.
- 0:37But the media is saying we're also going to hit on the future
- 0:41of the team and where we think it'll go.
- 0:44Maybe I'm no expert. And when I say where I think
- 0:49it'll go, I mean where the rest of the season's going.
- 0:51I'm no expert in the coaching search.
- 0:53I have a few people that I would like to have.
- 0:55Maybe that's the thing about this.
- 0:56One coach could have success somewhere else.
- 0:58But come here and it'll be like Brian Kelly.
- 1:01He won't buy into the culture. He won't set his own culture and
- 1:05his own standards, and he'll do this.
- 1:07But who knows? You know, if you're going to be
- 1:09successful here, you have to do like Jeh Johnson.
- 1:12Jay Johnson's from California, he kosher Arizona, but he came
- 1:16in, he embraced the fans, he embraced the state of Louisiana,
- 1:21he made it home and he works his behind us that don't sound like
- 1:27he works his ass off to put on a good product on and off the
- 1:33field every single year. And it has resulted in two
- 1:37national championships in four years, 2 regional, two regional
- 1:43appearances that both went to a regional final in two national
- 1:47championships. And that's the difference
- 1:49between Brian Kelly and Jay Johnson.
- 1:51But it's two different sports. So let's get into more.
- 1:54Let's talk about what led down to this because we've I've
- 1:57repeated it multiple times. I had Will on here as a kind of
- 2:00devil's advocate. The fact of the matter is Brian
- 2:06Kelly just didn't have it. Maybe he never had it.
- 2:09Maybe he just went all of those games because of the teams he
- 2:12was at. He could get better players and
- 2:14better recruits to those schools then he did in those week
- 2:18conferences he played in and he just fooled us all.
- 2:21But I will say this from what I'm seeing about other, you
- 2:26know, times he was there that he they plays that he's played for,
- 2:32don't like him at one point. This was when he was at Central
- 2:35Michigan. I read earlier today he was at
- 2:40they were having a party and two of his coaches were thought they
- 2:44were invited and he made them shovel snow in the valet parking
- 2:50before he left to come to LSU. Apparently he was on a
- 2:52recruiting trip and he was at the this family's house.
- 2:56Keep in mind, I'm just saying what I heard today.
- 3:00He was at his family's house recruiting, took a phone call
- 3:03knowing he was going to LSU and sat there and ate a full plate
- 3:06and then proceeded to tell them he was leaving to go to LSU.
- 3:10It's stuff like that that, you know, Brian Kelly was very much
- 3:13an arrogant prick. He was very much of A, what are
- 3:17you doing for me now? He never owned up to his stuff.
- 3:22He had failed higher after failed higher.
- 3:25I mean, he took a quarterback and Garrett Nesmeyer that threw
- 3:31for 6000 yards last year. And now, you know, players, and
- 3:37I mean not players, but fans are complaining because they want
- 3:40the Van Buren kid to start, which Van Buren looked good in
- 3:44garbage time against, you know, But you don't just go from
- 3:47throwing 6000 yards to barely breaking 2000 if your coach is
- 3:53not holding you back. And I think Joe Sloan was a huge
- 3:55part of that. You know, Joe Sloan couldn't do
- 3:59anything right. He just wasn't a good he's not a
- 4:01good offensive coordinator. He'd never be a good offensive
- 4:03coordinator. I don't care where he goes.
- 4:05I think Brian Kelly's a joke. And I think his coaching career
- 4:08might be over with because it like for Paul Finebaum said he
- 4:11is the most hated man in the national media when it comes to
- 4:15football coaches. Let's just go over the failure
- 4:18that he had there. On paper, it doesn't really look
- 4:20like failure until you get deep into it.
- 4:23But let's get let's just he's overall coaching career at LSU.
- 4:28And by the way, I've said multiple times Brian Kelly was
- 4:31going to be the first coach since Nick Saban to not win a
- 4:34national championship at LSU. He just didn't have the right
- 4:37stuff. He didn't buy into the state
- 4:42from Louisiana. He just never bought in what
- 4:44should have been a dead red giveaway of a walking red flags
- 4:47when they introduced that man out of men's LSU men's
- 4:51basketball game of all they could have introduced him like a
- 4:54women's basketball game, but they introduced him at the men's
- 4:58game. Couple of things that I had
- 5:01wrong with him would do this After we talk about his record
- 5:04at LSU, there's on the on this thing.
- 5:07It looks like he was a good coach. 34 and 14 and 3 1/2
- 5:15seasons. 22 was his their best year with the SEC Championship
- 5:18appearance with Jaden Daniels. His first year they were 19 and
- 5:2210 overall in the SEC and 22 they went ten and four with a
- 5:28loss in the ICC Championship game to Georgia, a loss to Texas
- 5:31A&E, and went six and two in the ICC and 23 they went ten and
- 5:37three, six and two in the ICC and Jaden Daniels won the
- 5:40Hoffman Trophy. Brian Kelly couldn't do get a
- 5:44defense together to do anything so that was a waste of the
- 5:46season. 4 went nine and four with few offensive collapses,
- 5:54defensive collapses and A5 and three record in the SEC, which
- 5:59landed him a bowl game in Texas. Now come back to this year and
- 6:04he's went five and three, two and three in the SEC.
- 6:07Two close games to teams we should have beat if Joe Sloan
- 6:11was an offensive coordinator and calling plays like run it up the
- 6:14middle, let's throw a wide receiver screen.
- 6:16That hasn't worked since the conception of the wide receiver
- 6:19screen, you know, But Brian Kelly again, refused to change
- 6:23coordinators, refused to fire on time and hire the right people.
- 6:26You know, let's go to the game on this past Saturday, his last
- 6:29game where fans, including myself were chanting fire Kelly.
- 6:33You know, the first half of that game we came out and they look
- 6:38like a real football team. They look like they could be the
- 6:41number one team in the country, barring a good offensive
- 6:43coordinator in a good play calling game.
- 6:46But we ran the ball. We did everything we thought we
- 6:48were going to do. We were beating the number one,
- 6:51the number, not the number one, the number three team in the
- 6:54country, 18 to 14 at halftime. Then for some reason when they
- 7:01come out in the second-half, get beat.
- 7:07Let me look this up. I know it was 21.
- 7:10I left in the fourth quarter, which by the way, before Brian
- 7:13Kelly was the coach at LSU. I never left the game early.
- 7:17They outscored us 35 to 7 in the second-half of the game, with
- 7:26that last seven points coming in garbage time at the end of the
- 7:29game with 59 seconds left in the game.
- 7:32Literal garbage time. Total yards.
- 7:35They out gained as 426 to 278 passing yards.
- 7:41We got a slight edge to 18 / 2 O2 rushing yards.
- 7:45We only had 60 and they had 200 and 12:24.
- 7:50So it's just a bunch of stuff that went on under Brian Kelly.
- 7:57Not only that, this season that has been the norm.
- 8:01LSU only scored over 20 something points one time, and
- 8:06that was against Southeastern. They struggled against Clemson,
- 8:11which we thought was a good team at the time and we thought that
- 8:13was a good hard win. Clemson's trash this year.
- 8:17They struggled at home against a very terrible LA Tech team.
- 8:21And I say terrible because we're terrible.
- 8:23If we beat you, then you need to rethink your program.
- 8:26Which Florida has they fired their coach?
- 8:28I think South Carolina, I don't know what happened to them, but
- 8:33we didn't play good at all that game either.
- 8:35Florida, we should have beat them by 40 points every day.
- 8:37Our defense had five intersection, 5 turnovers and we
- 8:41scored 20. But OK, you you look at all of
- 8:44that, but there's two times in this, the history of this
- 8:46program where we got blown 3 times.
- 8:52We got blown out at home. One was 11 AM and two were at
- 8:55night. That should never happen.
- 8:59But two times really should never happen.
- 9:01Tennessee came over there and their fans took over our
- 9:03stadium. Texas A&M came in Saturday
- 9:06night. They took over our stadium.
- 9:08Their team came back out the locker room after the game and
- 9:11hung out around on our field. That should never, ever happen.
- 9:16Yellow Shoes has a history of even when they lose games, teams
- 9:19want to get the hell out of there because they just got
- 9:21physically beat. They might have won the game,
- 9:24but they might have. They definitely lost the fight
- 9:26and that just didn't happen. That does hasn't happened under
- 9:28Brian Kelly. Brian Kelly's teams if it's
- 9:30soft, OK, Well, you look at it and you say he's 34 and 14.
- 9:33What are you talking about? Our offensive line couldn't
- 9:35block me. Our offensive line has been, we
- 9:38only have one good. I don't even know if we had a
- 9:40good offensive line under Brian Kelly because for two years we
- 9:43had Jaden Daniels and Jaden Daniels was a runner.
- 9:47He's a runner. You know, he'll run in when he
- 9:51can stay in the pocket and throw it.
- 9:53He'll stay in the pocket and throw it, but he's more running
- 9:56in the all offensive line lead break because they gave him the
- 9:58time he needed to run, you know, but let's move on.
- 10:01He never took accountability. He always blamed his players.
- 10:04Multiple former players have come out and said that Kelly's
- 10:08has come out and said that he was, they've been, they were, he
- 10:10was good to them when they were producing.
- 10:12As soon as they got hurt, he just backed, backed off, didn't
- 10:19talk to him, didn't acknowledge him, didn't even pretend that
- 10:22they were real. He just they didn't exist in his
- 10:25head. One of his former players went
- 10:28as far as to call him the worst human being he's ever met in a
- 10:30lot he's ever been around in his life.
- 10:32You know, for multiple former players come out and say that
- 10:35Brian Kelly is only in it for the money.
- 10:38He was only in it for the money. He never really cared.
- 10:40He was getting paid regardless, you know, and honestly, I don't
- 10:45know if other coaching, other teams that need coaches, there's
- 10:49about 5 or 6 of them that need coaches right now.
- 10:52I don't think any of them are looking Brian Kelly's way and
- 10:54saying, oh, let's get him. Let's get this loser.
- 10:58You know, I don't think you can hack it in football nowadays.
- 11:01How do you go out there and you brag about spending $20 million
- 11:04on a team and then when it all comes down to it, you spend the
- 11:07$20 million on a team, but you have no production.
- 11:10You sure? Your defense looks amazing at
- 11:12times. They look really good at the
- 11:14beginning of the season, but wear and tear, injuries, no
- 11:20Sloan causing offense to be 3 and out, I swear to God, I think
- 11:23that was his favorite formation was three and out, you know, But
- 11:26look, let's look at it this way. After that, let's just look at
- 11:28the prime example why I think Brian Kelly might have been
- 11:31trying to be fired. They come out Texas A&M, The
- 11:35team looks totally amazing. They come back after halftime.
- 11:39And I don't know where that team in the first half went, but it
- 11:42disappeared. It looked like high school kids
- 11:45out there playing with NFL players, you know, and that says
- 11:48a lot because that is still Texas A&M.
- 11:50But Texas A&M is a really good team.
- 11:52They find ways to win. But still took Arkansas, whose
- 11:56interim coach when he took the job, the first thing he did was
- 11:58he fired the whole defensive coaching staff.
- 12:01Arkansas took Texas A&M to a 44 to 41 game or something, 45 to
- 12:0942 game, something like that. Just goes to show you a
- 12:13competent offensive strategy will put you in a position to
- 12:16win. And you know, but I feel like
- 12:19Brian Kelly benched the whole starting defense, changed him
- 12:21out with different players and said they're going to fire me
- 12:24and I'm going to get 51 million, $54 million or whatever it is if
- 12:29I lose this game. So I'm going to bench all my
- 12:31starters and we're going to play the not even the backups.
- 12:34We're going to go into crowd and find people and see if they want
- 12:36to come out here and play. That's how bad the defense
- 12:39played compared to what they did in the first half.
- 12:42It looked like 2 totally different teams besides the
- 12:45garbage time touchdown Dr. we had at the end of the game.
- 12:47I think somebody said we had 14 yards of total offense in the
- 12:50second-half and we were trying to do better.
- 12:54We were trying and we got 14 total yards of offense.
- 12:57I don't think I've ever seen the team try and get 14 total yards
- 13:02of offense in 1/2. You know, the first time I've
- 13:04ever heard Brian Kelly take accountability is went on
- 13:08Saturday night after the game. And I think he only took
- 13:10accountability because he was getting fired.
- 13:12I think he knew it. I think, sorry, I think the
- 13:16writing was on the walls. He didn't have any support from
- 13:19anybody. Nobody cared.
- 13:22Multiple people said when LSU hired him that they were making
- 13:25the wrong choice. You should have listened.
- 13:27He came out here with a fake southern accent at one.
- 13:30First time we ever heard the man talk.
- 13:33Never purchased it, never bought into what we were saying, you
- 13:37know, never bought into the fans, the passionate fans
- 13:40that'll help you at times, never bought into anything in
- 13:45Louisiana. The only thing that man cared
- 13:47about was making the money. He didn't care about his
- 13:49players. He didn't care about this and
- 13:51that. He didn't care.
- 13:52All he cared about was himself and his financial gain.
- 13:55I don't even think he cared about his family as much as he
- 13:57cared about the dollar bill. You know, he just cared about
- 13:59the image he was he was portraying, which was a shitty
- 14:02image by the way. He always reeked of arrogance.
- 14:05Then just goes to let's look at those coaches that Scott, Scott
- 14:10Woodard is credited for hiring. Jay Johnson, met him, he's a
- 14:15cool dude. You know, no arrogance to him.
- 14:17You got a little bit of arrogance, but if you're that
- 14:19good, you got to have a little bit of arrogance to get that
- 14:21kind of teams put together. Never met Kim Mulkey, but she's
- 14:25cool. She's from here.
- 14:26She's a championship winning coach.
- 14:28She bought in, buy in. Jay Clark bought in, buy in,
- 14:32bought into Louisiana, you know, won a national championship.
- 14:36Brian Kelly never bought into Louisiana.
- 14:39And that's why once that man is fired, we still get recruits
- 14:45that committed to LSU because LSU you don't commit to a coach,
- 14:48you commit to a team. You commit to the team.
- 14:50You commit to the LSU, you commit to the purple and gold.
- 14:54Brian Kelly never bought into the purple and gold.
- 14:57And that's why Brian Kelly is lucky if he gets a job at Burger
- 15:00King. You know, if they said it was a
- 15:01toxic locker room, multiple reports said it was a toxic
- 15:04locker room. He lost the players.
- 15:06You know, you can't go and lose these players and think, oh,
- 15:09they're going to play for me. And you can't bang on the table
- 15:12every week and say oh, this is not my fault.
- 15:15This is this one's fault. This is Witwick's fault from
- 15:18being a pussy and missing the games.
- 15:20All Brian Kelly's words, not mine.
- 15:22We don't. Our team is not compared with
- 15:25dipshit. That's your job.
- 15:26Your job as a head coach and as a coach is to prepare your team
- 15:30and put the best product out on the field.
- 15:34I'm a season ticket holder. When they said they were raising
- 15:37the prices to the tickets, if Brian Kelly would have finished
- 15:40this season as the head coach, I don't know if I'd have bought my
- 15:42season tickets for next year. I don't want to pay more money
- 15:45after you raise the prices the year before to watch the product
- 15:49Brian Kelly puts out on the field and is proud of every
- 15:52year. You know, let's look at his
- 15:53teams. We lose the first game he's ever
- 15:55coached because he couldn't put together a special teams unit.
- 15:59A special teams unit, special teams field goal should be one
- 16:04of the easiest things to put together.
- 16:06You learn that stuff and it doesn't change from high school
- 16:10to not even high school. You learn how to block for an
- 16:12extra point in peewee football. Not that there's many kickers
- 16:17that could kick an extra point in peewee football, but you
- 16:19learn how to do that in peewee. Elementary, middle school, high
- 16:24school, you learn how to do all of that stuff.
- 16:27You know, you learn how to hold the ball.
- 16:29You waste generational talent like Jaden Daniels, a Heisman
- 16:32Trophy winner, because you can't put together a defense with even
- 16:36the slightest pulse, the slightest pulse, you know.
- 16:42But by or you know one of your biggest mistakes you ever made
- 16:48because he bullied you spent he been at Texas AM for two years
- 16:52and he bullied our player players he's coached bullied our
- 16:56players 2 years was letting Tommy Moffett go and whoever is
- 17:00the next head coach at LSU, the first thing you need to do is go
- 17:03dump a bunch of money at Tommy Moffett's feet and tell him I'm
- 17:07sorry my predecessor was a bull headed dickhead that didn't know
- 17:11Jack shit. Please come back and be our
- 17:13strength coach again. You know there's no fire.
- 17:17They had no defense, they had no fire.
- 17:20They were essentially OK with losing.
- 17:22You know, our defense relies. In 23 season at least our
- 17:26defense solely relied. It looked like they didn't have
- 17:30to play well because Jaden Daniels was going to win US that
- 17:33game. You know, look, I can handle the
- 17:37loss to Ole Miss. Much as I hate to say it, I can
- 17:41take the first loss to Vandy since 1990.
- 17:46I wasn't even born the last time we lost to Vandy.
- 17:49I can take that, you know, and I hate losing to that cold over
- 17:54there at College Station, but I can handle losing the to them
- 17:59when they've got a better team. What I can't handle and with no
- 18:04LSU fan can't handle and with Brian Kelly put out on the field
- 18:09year in and year out at LSU since the first game he coached
- 18:12here was a better word. He raised a bunch of pussies.
- 18:15They were soft. They got out physical to almost
- 18:19every game. Every game we've lost is because
- 18:21in even games we won, they were out there getting out physical,
- 18:24out physical. You were LSU, you were not to be
- 18:29out physical. All those defensive players that
- 18:32came before you in the past, you know, Patrick Peterson, Tyron
- 18:38Matthew, Devon White, who else? Delpit Stingley said.
- 18:42The honey Badger. But then you've got running
- 18:45backs like Leonard Fournette, Clyde Edwardsy, Lehrer, Justin
- 18:49Vincent, Spencer Ware, and who else was it there?
- 18:53Get Darius guys, some Hilliard Hill, a whole bunch of running
- 18:59backs, a bunch of dudes who ran over everybody.
- 19:03I remember being in college and going watch Leonard Fournette.
- 19:06He ran over everybody, everybody.
- 19:08There was a reason that he was going for the Heisman Trophy
- 19:10even though we had a dog shit team because he put the team on
- 19:15his back. And one of the biggest things
- 19:17that pissed me off in the Les Miles era was when Les Miles
- 19:21could have let him break the record, rushing record or
- 19:24touchdown, rushing touchdown record or whatever.
- 19:26He whatever record he was going for and he had him down and he
- 19:29said, no, I'm a pull you. Let's take a step back.
- 19:33Let's not do this, you know, but whatever the point is my point
- 19:38in Jacob Hester to Jacob Hester was a beast.
- 19:41But what my point is, we never had a run game under Brian Kelly
- 19:46because I don't think we had a strength coach we didn't have.
- 19:49We had that Yankee strength coach he brought up from the
- 19:51North that was OK in those Northern conferences, but can't
- 19:55get the job done in this hard nosed Southeastern Conference,
- 19:59you know? But what did it for me was
- 20:02getting out physical for all those games you watch him and
- 20:06every loss, 14, finally he had 14 losses and 14 losses, I
- 20:10guarantee you, and 34 wins, I guarantee you.
- 20:12And at least what's that 48 games he coached?
- 20:15I guarantee you at least 45 of those.
- 20:19He got out physical. Our team got out physical.
- 20:22Our team got bullied. Our offensive line couldn't
- 20:24block a soul. You know, you can't go on and do
- 20:27all of this stuff, these negative things.
- 20:29It never build on it and get positive.
- 20:32During de Boer we were all laughing when they lost to
- 20:34Florida State this year. We laughed last year when they
- 20:36lost got their butt kicked by Oklahoma and had though and got
- 20:42beat by Vandy just for us to turn around this year and get
- 20:44beat by Vandy. You know, we do these things and
- 20:49we laugh at these things, but it Brian Kelly took that as a
- 20:52challenge. Brian Kelly said let me go and
- 20:54tarnish the name of this great university.
- 20:56See how bad we can bad of a product I can put out on the
- 21:00field year day in and day out brag about how much they spent
- 21:04$20 million. They should have spent that $20
- 21:07million and put it towards that motherfuckers buy out.
- 21:09You know, because all those players, all he did was on the
- 21:12sidelines. He sits there and be right sat
- 21:15there and not sits there anymore.
- 21:16Thank God. Best day of my life was Sunday,
- 21:21October 26th, when I sat there and refreshed Twitter for five
- 21:24hours waiting to hear news of either Joe Sloan or Brian Kelly
- 21:27getting fired. And when I heard it was the big
- 21:30dog in charge, Bryant, not even the big dog, more like the
- 21:33little kitten in charge in Brian Kelly in that he was getting
- 21:38fired. I jumped up.
- 21:40I stayed up until midnight that night.
- 21:42I was so excited. You know, that's the point we've
- 21:46come to. You know, when Edo got fired, it
- 21:49was kind of bitter sweet. He was doing a terrible job, but
- 21:52at least he was likable. You know, you got a dude like
- 21:55Brian Kelly comes in. There's not a likable quality on
- 21:58that man's in that man. He is just a turd in the punch
- 22:02bowl. He's a prick.
- 22:04Whatever you want to say, that's what he is.
- 22:06He is horrible. And the best thing for LSU
- 22:10happened. It might have cost us 50
- 22:11million, $54,000,000. And I hate that we got to pay a
- 22:15buyout because Scott Woodard is Scott Woodard is responsible for
- 22:19it. Two of the biggest buyouts in
- 22:22college football history. And I should say something.
- 22:24And LSU needs to rein that. Do in.
- 22:27You know, if you hot you keep him, good on you.
- 22:31If you fire him, good on you. But you need to rein him in.
- 22:34Don't let him make these outlandish contracts.
- 22:37Nobody can afford it. Enough about Brian Kelly and
- 22:40enough about how bad he is and how bad of a terrible person he
- 22:43is and this and that. He's old news.
- 22:46He's gone. Good riddance.
- 22:47I hope the Baton Rouge businesses don't do business
- 22:50with him. I hope they get rid of him and
- 22:51he leaves as soon as they want. Actually, I take that back.
- 22:55Baton Rouge businesses, you can do business with him.
- 22:57Get some of that $50 million back, but good riddance.
- 23:00Bye. Don't let the door hit you.
- 23:02Get out of my state, leave. Nobody liked you from the get
- 23:06go. You made me look like a fool
- 23:07because I took up for you with your fake southern accent.
- 23:10Get out. Stop dancing on little boys when
- 23:12you do your recruit and stuff. That's disgusting.
- 23:15That never flew here no matter what.
- 23:18Did people told you we made you look like you look like a
- 23:21Jackass. When you did that, you were
- 23:24laughing stock and good riddance.
- 23:27Let's move on to the future. I think they made the right
- 23:30call. Megan.
- 23:31Frank Wilson, the interim head coach.
- 23:34I don't think, I don't see his beating Fandy, beating Vandy.
- 23:38I mean, I don't see his beating Alabama.
- 23:40You know, I think it'll be more of a competitive game now and we
- 23:43might make it a maybe a three-point game because I feel
- 23:46like Frank Wilson can go in there, bring the team together.
- 23:49First of all, there's so much stuff that Brian Kelly did and I
- 23:52think what we need to do is spend this week healing as a
- 23:57team, coming together as a team in healing.
- 24:01You know, there's a lot of football left to be played.
- 24:03There's four games, 5 if you win because you're going to beat
- 24:08Western Kentucky, even with that lint Dick bastard Brian Kelly,
- 24:13we'd have still won. We'd have still beat Western
- 24:16Kentucky. I don't know if we'd have beat
- 24:19Bama, Arkansas or Oklahoma, but we'd have still beat Western
- 24:24Kentucky and been bowl eligible. So you've essentially got five
- 24:27games left on your schedule. You know you can go.
- 24:31You can have a 10 loan season. You can salvage this season, as
- 24:34embarrassing as this season has been, not only for the players
- 24:38but the fans. We have other things to look
- 24:41forward to now. Like I was going to sell my
- 24:42tickets for the Arkansas game. I might actually go and see what
- 24:47Frank Wilson's all in this team is all about now with they
- 24:50didn't have Brian Kelly holding him back.
- 24:51You know, you got rid of the cancer, you got rid of Brian
- 24:54Kelly, you got rid of the symptoms like Joe Sloan.
- 24:59And I think somebody told me they finally got rid of Brad
- 25:01Davis as offensive line coach. I don't know if that's true or
- 25:04not. Offensive line has been horrible
- 25:06for four years. I know we had good NFL caliber
- 25:10talent, but that's not because of Brad, Brad Davis.
- 25:16That's because they went to good high schools and they had good
- 25:18high school coaches and taught them fundamentals.
- 25:20But where do we go from here? Who knows, But I like to think
- 25:26we can be at least competitive against Bama, maybe lose a game,
- 25:31you know, maybe lose the game, but they'll know we were there.
- 25:36Hopefully Weeks can get healthy because I think his presence on
- 25:39the defense, his leadership surely shines, you know.
- 25:42And what else for coaches moving forward?
- 25:46I really don't know. I've heard a lot of names going
- 25:49around. Some I like, some I don't.
- 25:53I do like the idea of throwing however much money at saving
- 25:57that you need to. Not even as an offer to come
- 25:59coach because I think he's very happy with his retirement and
- 26:02not stressing over the NIL and this and that.
- 26:06But to help you look for a coach who fits what he built here.
- 26:10Because made no mistake, it might have been Les Miles teams
- 26:15lately, but he took a lot of that.
- 26:17And that culture was built in the early 2000s under Nick
- 26:20Saban. And what he did when he came
- 26:21here. Then when he left and we got Les
- 26:24Miles, you know, Les Miles, under Sabin's guidance or
- 26:30whatever he had with his players, won the first national
- 26:33championship that he had. And then he followed that
- 26:37system, it looked like until he went in 2011 to the end, brought
- 26:42us to the championship game to lose to Nick Saban.
- 26:44You know, there's a lot to be said for that.
- 26:46They followed the thing. Ed Osheroff followed LS US
- 26:51guideline. He you know, it was his state.
- 26:56He knew what LSU football was all about it growing up as a
- 26:58fan, he knew this, He knew that he made it.
- 27:03You know, I don't know what else to say really, except Brian
- 27:06Kelly. You just dismantled the program.
- 27:08But we need to find something. I saw a TikTok today of Cam
- 27:14Newton talking about LSU and SEC in general, top tier SEC coaches
- 27:20in general. And he said, look, these
- 27:23coaches, they nowadays, they're not looking for you in the top
- 27:26tier. You don't, We don't need a
- 27:28mediocre coach. You know, if you want this job,
- 27:31you don't be mediocre. You come in and you take this
- 27:34job. You know, the only name on the
- 27:37list that I didn't like as the coach.
- 27:39I saw Joe Brady. I think it's a good one.
- 27:42I don't think he comes here. Lane Kiffin, I think there's a
- 27:45chance he can come here. John Summerall, I think he could
- 27:48come here and be a good fit. I mean, we looked up his record
- 27:53today before Tulane. Let's see, let's see, OK, at his
- 27:58overall coaching record is I don't see how this is possible
- 28:02because the numbers don't add up.
- 28:03But he is 38 and 10 overall at Troy.
- 28:07He was 2111. That is saying something for
- 28:13Troy because you play upper competition all those times.
- 28:16I think he even used the one coach that beat LSU that year.
- 28:19Maybe now because it says he coached at Troy in 2022 to 2023.
- 28:25Either way, that's good. His current present record at
- 28:29Tulane right now is 16 and one. We got to look that up because
- 28:35that's don't match the numbers that I looked at earlier today.
- 28:38Yeah, these don't match the numbers that I looked.
- 28:40Easy enough. Let's go to Tulane and see what
- 28:42they're. Sorry, I'm looking down a lot,
- 28:44but I will get there. Maybe I won't get there.
- 28:46Tulane is 6 and one this year. They're probably the best team
- 28:51in Louisiana at current moment. I don't know if we beat him.
- 28:55He's fits with most. He fits with a lot of people
- 28:58would call. He's 43 years old.
- 29:00He's a younger guy. I think a lot of people would be
- 29:03like, OK, you're 43, you can connect with these younger guys.
- 29:07That's what we need. We need somebody to connect to
- 29:09recruits. We need somebody who can bring
- 29:10them in. You know, on the other hand, you
- 29:13have a guy like Elaine Kiffin, which I really think would be a
- 29:16good fit here, bring him in. And I think if you bring him in
- 29:19under the right circumstances, I think he would come.
- 29:23I really do. It's hard to pass up ALSU job
- 29:26where you're the only, you know, you're the state's flagship
- 29:29university. You can get recruits, you can
- 29:31get this, you can get that. Like I said, I don't know much
- 29:35about coaching searches. I don't pretend to know much
- 29:38about coaching searches. I can just tell you who what I
- 29:41hear and what I look at. I do really think that you do
- 29:47take a bunch of money and you do throw it at saving and you ask
- 29:50him to head this coaching search.
- 29:52You get somebody else to write this contract for this coach.
- 29:55But the Scott Water does not to be need to be anywhere near
- 30:00contract writing offering these coaches these big buyouts,
- 30:03number one. And two, Jimbo Fisher in Brian
- 30:06Kelly, the two biggest clowns in college football.
- 30:09And they're offering them. They had a $71,000,000 buyout
- 30:13and a $54 million buyout to be top #1 and #2 you know, but
- 30:18that's about all I'll say for this.
- 30:21Good riddance, Brian Kelly. I'm glad I don't have to speak
- 30:24your name ever again as far as LSU is concerned.
- 30:28Joe Sloan, I hope that when you went in to pack your bags from
- 30:32LSU, that wouldn't let you in the team's facility offices.
- 30:37I hope your key card should work and I hope they burn all your
- 30:40stuff as bad as you've been all season.
- 30:42I don't even think your biggest claim to fame, I think is when
- 30:46they said that you were the quarterbacks coach for Jaden
- 30:48Daniels. But I don't even think you were
- 30:49the good quarterbacks coach for Jaden Daniels.
- 30:51I think Jaden Daniels outsource this quarterback work because
- 30:56honestly, I don't think Nuss went to any other coaches.
- 31:01I can't say that for sure, but you've taken that poor kid and
- 31:05ruined his NFL chances, or try to at least.
- 31:10At least people in the country see that he's a good
- 31:12quarterback. You almost demolished his poor
- 31:14stuff. And Brian Kelly, we never like
- 31:17you here. I'm glad you're gone.
- 31:19Joe Sloan, whoever thought you could be an offensive
- 31:22coordinator. Oh, it was Brian Kelly.
- 31:23Never mind. Now I'm just ranting to fill up
- 31:27time anyway, please like and subscribe, share the video,
