- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, welcome to a special Inside the Tape preseason edition.
- 0:14Jeff Mosher, Adam Kaplan and of course when we're talking
- 0:17Inside the Tape, you know we're bringing back our tape
- 0:21breakdown guru, Greg Cosel Craig. I know you've been busy
- 0:25as always with your nose inside the Tape, both college
- 0:29and pro at this time of the year, but we
- 0:31are turning the page to the NFL season, and I'll
- 0:34just take this moment to announce now to our our
- 0:37you know, mainstream podcast and YouTube listeners, you're back for
- 0:40another season on Inside the Burns Inside the Tape every
- 0:45week throughout the NFL season, So you ready, you got
- 0:48the gloves on.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I can't wait. I just can't wait for the regular
- 0:51season to begin. Jeff. You know it's I mean, now
- 0:55the college big weekend of college football. I'm actually looking
- 0:58forward to that, but I can't wait for the NFL
- 1:00season to begin.
- 1:01Speaker 1: So basically, let me relaiel our listeners know, we took
- 1:04this is metaphorical. We took Greg's arm and twisted around
- 1:07us back and said can you please watch Eagles preseason?
- 1:11And he was like, oh, man, do I have to watch?
- 1:14And we said yeah, for the show, he said, Okay,
- 1:17we're gonna do it. So we're gonna throw a bunch
- 1:18of preseason footage questions at Greg. But also our Patreon
- 1:23members just want to let them know ask Greg Cosel.
- 1:26We'll be back each week as well in the NFL season.
- 1:29They'll get to ask your questions personally to Greg. Football
- 1:34related questions, we hope to Greg. Let's start getting like
- 1:37life therapy type questions Greg.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Right, that's right, right.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Greg's good enough to take all of me.
- 1:43Speaker 3: And it's funny because we sometimes you go over the
- 1:46time and you're like, no, it's okay, I'll keep asking.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I'm like, wow, it's great.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Oh no, I love it. There's guys, you know, I
- 1:52imagine we'll get a lot of the same guys, but
- 1:54they're great. They asked great ones. We have no one
- 1:57they know what I do, so they don't ask me
- 1:59questions that you know. They know that like for people
- 2:02like you, guys you know they know what I do.
- 2:04You don't ask me about things like character to leadership,
- 2:06things that you know there's no way I can know about.
- 2:08And I'll be the first to admit that. You know.
- 2:10Speaker 1: All right, let's move into some Eagles preseason tape. Greg
- 2:14the Story of the Eagles preseason, and I'd be fascinated
- 2:17to know if you had even watched tape of this
- 2:19guy coming out of college, I know that'd be a
- 2:22very long shot. Is Darius Cooper, the wide receiver from
- 2:26Tarlton State who from day one to the last day
- 2:30was just very, very consistent in his approach and his
- 2:33performance at camp. He was not a training camp darling,
- 2:37so to speak, because those guys are usually guys who
- 2:39don't make it and can't play right. Anything that jump
- 2:43out when you watch.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Well, here's what I did. So I watched all Tanner
- 2:47McKee's dropbacks in the you know, when he played that
- 2:51first game, you know, and then through a lot of passes,
- 2:55and obviously I'm watching Cooper, you know, because he was
- 2:57a factor, and I'm like, who is this guy? Believe
- 3:00it or not. After I watched that, I went back
- 3:03and I watched Cooper at Tarlton State. You did oh,
- 3:06I figured it would okay, all right, good Now. He
- 3:09was much thinner by the way attain State, and he
- 3:13was explosive. I I came away impressed with the player
- 3:17watching him at Tarleton State. He he had an explosive
- 3:20element to his game. Now then, I you know, I
- 3:24just thought to myself, God, he's he's bigger. You know,
- 3:26he almost looks body type like AJ Brown. And you
- 3:31know he still looked pretty quick though, I mean it
- 3:34didn't it didn't look like he was slower. So again,
- 3:38all I have, because I was in a training camp,
- 3:40all I have is the game and then seeing his
- 3:42college tape. But body type, he's kind of like AJ Brown.
- 3:45I mean, just seeing what I saw, I mean I
- 3:48would say that he's got linear speed and outstanding body control.
- 3:52Like those were two things that stood out to me.
- 3:55Linear speed and outstanding body control. The impressed me.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Now, I don't know if it was Tarlton's state tape
- 4:00show it because you know he came there as a quarterback,
- 4:03I know, receiver, but the way he taxed the football, yes,
- 4:07that was incredibly really from the very first practice, kind
- 4:10of like you see a number forty one undrafted free agent.
- 4:13You see him have a good first day, you make
- 4:14a note of it, but you don't think much of it.
- 4:16But when you see him dominate every practice. He went
- 4:19from the threes the twos, and then when Brown or
- 4:23Smith was out, they moved him up with the ones.
- 4:25You're like, okay, now we're taking it seriously. This kid's
- 4:27got a real shot. And look they they're probably still
- 4:31going to be a heavy twelve personnel. But remember he's
- 4:33got a three year deal. Dots is on the final years,
- 4:36so is Mechi. So it's fascinating. I'm so glad you
- 4:39went back as chartan state was remembered. Greg No combin invite,
- 4:44no All Star.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Game, right, nothing, absolutely nothing no.
- 4:47Speaker 2: And I didn't watch him through the draft process, but
- 4:49then I watched him, you know, a couple of weeks ago,
- 4:51after that first preseason game, after I watched the key,
- 4:55you know when he caught that touchdown down the right sideline,
- 4:57you know where he went up and got it. You know,
- 4:59good hand, extended body control, worked over the middle of
- 5:04the field. You know, you don't compare guys to you know, like,
- 5:08I'm not gonna sit here and say, g you look
- 5:09like a J. Brown, But stylistically with the way he gained,
- 5:13the body type is similar that, you know, that's kind
- 5:16of what he looks like.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It's a great I was standing next to Andrew de
- 5:20Checo during camp practice one day. We were watching him.
- 5:23Adrian Brown was out, and I think another receiver, DeVante
- 5:25might have been out. And he was standing next to
- 5:29to John Dotson and I said, Andrew and I were like,
- 5:33you know what, you can't Sometimes you can tell when
- 5:35a rookie free agent wide receiver looks like they're usually
- 5:38rookie free agents for undrafted free agents for a reason.
- 5:41Underside like Taylor Moore, very undersized slot guy. You can
- 5:44tell it look like the starting guy. He was standing
- 5:47right next to John Dottson and I said, you know what,
- 5:49if these guys were wearing the same number, I don't
- 5:51know if I in the helmet on know who's who.
- 5:53Because that's the first thing that stuck out to me, Greg,
- 5:55is that he had the body type of an NFL
- 5:58wide receiver.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah, like you guys said, I mean, I've heard from
- 6:04people as well that he's pretty much been good every day.
- 6:06He's not like a flash in the pan as far
- 6:08as training camps.
- 6:10Speaker 1: All right, let's let's let's go to the defense. That's
- 6:12where most of the questions were. You've got you. Well,
- 6:15last we spoke to you, you said about Joshua that
- 6:18there's something in him right, that there's a reason why
- 6:22he was drafted where he was and had that one
- 6:24year in New England that was a breakout year. There's
- 6:26something in his body. I believe I did after watching
- 6:29the preseason tape.
- 6:30Speaker 2: What did you say? You know, he's got natural quickness,
- 6:34he's got change direction, he can redirect, he's got traits.
- 6:39It's very hard for me when guys don't, you know,
- 6:41get moved around. I mean, I remember that year in
- 6:44New England a couple of years ago. You know, he
- 6:46looked like an up and coming player. I mean he
- 6:49looked like a really good player. You know, they used
- 6:52him as a pass rusher. They had a lot of
- 6:54stunt concepts that year, and he was very good at
- 6:58that because he's got body flexibility, he can bend. He's
- 7:01a really good athlete. So that showed up on tape.
- 7:04I mean, you know, I'm not looking to see if
- 7:06a guy gets sacks. You know what, you know that
- 7:07guy's I don't look you know, I look for the
- 7:09way a guy moves, how he uses his hands, is
- 7:11he how does he go about trying to beat a
- 7:14guy when he's rushing the quarterback. You know, it's it's there,
- 7:19you know, I don't beyond that I can't tell you anymore.
- 7:22It's it's there. I mean, look, right now, if they
- 7:25start the season, I assume that Hunt and Smith would
- 7:28be the outside backers. But they're not each going to
- 7:31play seventy snaps a game. We know that that's not
- 7:33gonna happen. So there's going to be guys. So it's
- 7:36oushe they kept Azolera. Yeah, and he's there another guy
- 7:42that has trades, and they kept one more guy. Who's
- 7:45the other guy? You know what, he's another guy. I
- 7:50believe he came in Oklahoma, right.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Forget the school. He's been with a couple of teams.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah, he's another guy that has trades. When I rem
- 8:00I remember watching him coming out of college and I
- 8:02thought this, and he had moments in Cleveland. By the way,
- 8:04it's not like this guy hasn't played in the league
- 8:07and hasn't shown up. You know, He's played meaningful snaps
- 8:10in the league. So it's it's going to be really interesting.
- 8:13I mean, you know, based on what he did over
- 8:17the last half of last season, one could think that
- 8:20Nolan Smith is really on the way to becoming a
- 8:22really good football player, you know, I mean, he really
- 8:25had a good second half of the season. I mean,
- 8:28you know, you could see that. However, they're coaching and
- 8:31he'd take, well, he's supposed to be an incredibly smart
- 8:33kid and and you know, really a good kid. You
- 8:35could see that he took to coaching. He started to
- 8:37use his hands, he started to understand how to playoff contact.
- 8:40I mean, he could be an as sending player this year.
- 8:44Speaker 3: So Greg, let's stay on the defensive line, the front
- 8:47and talk about Ty Robinson, the rookie, Gabe Hall. What
- 8:49do you see from them?
- 8:50Speaker 2: Gabe Hall is a fascinating guy to me because gab
- 8:53Hal is an excellent athlete for a defensive tackle. What
- 8:57he needs to do is to develop more strength and
- 8:59become more of a power player. But he's a really
- 9:02good athlete. There were I watched every one of his snaps.
- 9:07There were examples where he used his hands effectively, where
- 9:11he understood where to place his hands and then to
- 9:14work off that. There were snaps where he did show
- 9:18some strength in you know, almost a two gap type
- 9:21player where he played off the contact. I remember one
- 9:25in particular where he showed knock back power, you know,
- 9:27with great arm extension to immediately control the blocker. There
- 9:32was one where he did that against the tight end,
- 9:34which is still really good, but you have to you know,
- 9:36it's against a tight end. But I think that, you know,
- 9:40if he can become more powerful, more consistently, I think
- 9:44he has a chance to be a really solid rotational
- 9:47player in this D line.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Exactly the scouting report on him. Greg. Even still today,
- 9:55I was talking with someone from a different team saying, hey,
- 9:58Cabe Hall looks good in training camp. He's doing well.
- 10:02And this person says to me, well, he's always been
- 10:04a great athlete, but is he playing strong? That was
- 10:06exactly that was the question, because that was, well.
- 10:08Speaker 2: That's what the tape showed. You know, That's that's exactly
- 10:11what the tape showed. But you know, so that's what
- 10:15he has to work on. And you know, sometimes strength
- 10:17is not just like you know, how much he can
- 10:19bench press. It's it's how you use your hands, you know,
- 10:22because if you can place your hands in the right spot.
- 10:25I mean, you know, so many times with what defensive
- 10:29lineman study is offensive linemen how they set, you know.
- 10:35In other words, I'm just gonna use this as an example,
- 10:40and I don't want people to think, oh, you're you're
- 10:41making comparison to this guy. This guy was one of
- 10:43the greatest of all time. That's not the point of
- 10:45what I'm going to say. Think of Reggie White's hump move. Okay,
- 10:50everybody just, oh my god, he's so strong. Well, what
- 10:52he did was is he studied offensive line that particularly tackles.
- 10:56And you might remember Max Lane when they beat, yeah,
- 11:00beat New England in the Super Bowl. What he would
- 11:03do is study when an offensive tackle when he was
- 11:05playing d n in his Kickslide would lift his outside
- 11:09foot off the ground. Because no matter how strong you are,
- 11:13or no matter how much you weigh, if you're playing
- 11:15with one foot, it doesn't matter, you know. So Reggie
- 11:20White was a master. As soon as that guy lifted
- 11:22the foot off the ground, he clubbed them. Okay, and
- 11:25the guy had no balance flying. Yeah, the guy went flying.
- 11:29I mean that's the way the kinds of things offensive
- 11:32linemen look at. So it's not a matter of g
- 11:34can can Gabe haul go in the weight room and
- 11:36bench press five hundred pounds. That's not what we're talking about.
- 11:40It's how do you use your hands? Do you place
- 11:42them right? You know? What they teach a lot of
- 11:46guys is to put their hands and I know people
- 11:47can see me, you know, good hands like right in
- 11:50this area. Because no one's natural reaction is to go
- 11:53like this. That's not a natural athletic reaction. No one
- 11:57does this. So they teach guys to try to hit
- 12:01your hand right in here, and then guys get off
- 12:04balanced because it's just one of those spots. So and
- 12:07then you can play off that and do any number
- 12:09of other things.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Hey, you know that one guy in the group chat
- 12:12who hit a five leg parlay week one and he
- 12:15wouldn't shut up about it for the rest of the season.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Sounds like kaplan, right, Yeah, yeah, it.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Could be him.
- 12:21Speaker 4: It could be you, and we would all want to
- 12:24be you.
- 12:25Speaker 1: My Bookie makes it stupid easy to.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Get in on the action, whether it's college ball, NFL
- 12:32Super Contest, and Survivor pools. All the spreads, player props
- 12:36and in game lines that.
- 12:38Speaker 2: You could want, all.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Under one roof.
- 12:41Speaker 1: What more could you want than that?
- 12:44Speaker 5: If you're new to My Bookie, use our code the
- 12:48Birds th G B I r DS The Birds use
- 12:53the code, and any bet you choose up to five
- 12:56hundred dollars is fully covered. Make your play and if
- 13:00it doesn't hit, you get it right back when you
- 13:03opt in using your back bonus token.
- 13:06Speaker 4: There is no better time to jump in right now.
- 13:10No better place to play football is back. Let's make
- 13:14some money with my bookie.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Yep, Greg, the other well, the other guy halts a
- 13:19secondar player. But the other guy that fans are fascinated
- 13:22with number ninety four, Ty Robinson.
- 13:24Speaker 2: What are you now? He's the exact opposite of Haul.
- 13:30Ty Robinson is a power player at this point in
- 13:33his career. His game's built on power and strength. He's
- 13:36a straight line power player. He's got to improve his
- 13:39lateral quickness. He does have a tendency, in my opinion,
- 13:42to play a little high and upright. You know, so,
- 13:45I think I think he's one of those hard nosed,
- 13:49tough guys that probably needs work, you know, Like i'd
- 13:54be surprised. You know, you never know, and I've learned
- 13:57over the years you don't make definitive statements. But I'd
- 13:59be surprised if he's a major contributor this year in
- 14:03terms of number of snaps. It doesn't mean he's never
- 14:05gonna play, but I can't see him being truly a
- 14:08part of the rotation already plays twenty twenty five snaps
- 14:11a game, certainly early in the season. Right.
- 14:13Speaker 1: That's interesting. It makes you wonder from two standpoints. Let's
- 14:16say more Joe Will gets hurt, has the miss three.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Games and by the way, you guys would know, I've
- 14:20heard he's had a really good camp.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Unbelievable. Yes, yes, yeah, So if Moro Joe Will were
- 14:26to get hurt, that hurts their five man front and
- 14:27their fore man front. I would think that Gabe Hall
- 14:30would be next man up in there in front. But
- 14:33in their four man pass rush front, I would wonder
- 14:36if they would just kick a defensive end inside instead
- 14:40of trying to go with Ty Robinson for your as
- 14:43your man up, because you've got four or five edge
- 14:46rushers now, I would wonder if maybe you'd kick at
- 14:48Jlex on inside with Jayleen Carter and then have Ojilari
- 14:51and Uche on the outside.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Or you know, and again, Uce was a guy that
- 14:54when he was in New England moved around. I mean,
- 14:56you know, depending on how they feel about him, you know,
- 14:58he could do that.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Is big enough.
- 15:01Speaker 2: He looks you know, maybe not. You know, I don't
- 15:03know the answer to that. Yeah, I don't know the
- 15:05answer to that, but Robinson is not at this point
- 15:07an inside pass rusher.
- 15:09Speaker 1: One thing I thought awesome, Greg just against the run
- 15:11because you know, in a lot of rookies to this,
- 15:13there were a couple of those zone runs where he
- 15:15kind of shot the gap and let the bubble open
- 15:19spread running back. I think that was just you know,
- 15:21they tell rookies to make a mistake at one hundred
- 15:23miles per hour, and I felt like maybe he just knew.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you know, he's he's he's got some
- 15:30knock back power. You know, that's his game. You know,
- 15:32I just think he's he's got all the work to
- 15:34do overall, and you know, don't forget what was he
- 15:37a fourth or fifth round pick? Tie? Fourth? Yeah, I
- 15:40mean you know, look, you'd obviously love for him to
- 15:43be part of their rotation. But it's not as if
- 15:45he was a first or second round pick, you know.
- 15:46I mean, he needs I guarantee they knew, they knew
- 15:49he needed work. I mean, but he's just a I
- 15:53had a chance at the combine because he was there
- 15:55to talk to Matt Ruhle, who have known, you know,
- 15:56for years since he was a Temple and obviously Matt
- 15:59Real coach him, and he said, the kid is all football.
- 16:02The kid loves it. He works his tail off. You know,
- 16:05he'll do anything you ask him to do, you know.
- 16:08And you know the Eagles go for those guys, you know,
- 16:10because they can coach them, they build them up. Well,
- 16:13I mean, look at a Jomo. I mean I thought
- 16:15of Jomo it was worthy of a third or fourth
- 16:16round pick personally based on his college tape. It didn't
- 16:19play out that way. But look where you know how
- 16:21he's progressed. You know, the Eagles like those kinds of kids.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Well, speaking of a guy who should have gone high,
- 16:27I mean he did is Shahad Campbell? Greg, what were
- 16:29your faults of his heath?
- 16:30Speaker 2: I've been really impressed, really impressed. Okay, they have really
- 16:34clearly worked with him, and I talked to someone in
- 16:36the building on being more physical and it's starting to
- 16:39show up on tape because that's what he was not
- 16:41in college. The guy is a freakish athlete. I mean
- 16:45that showed up on tape in college and you saw
- 16:48bits and pieces of it watching the preseason again, I
- 16:51watched all his snaps as well. You know, I said
- 16:54that there's a natural quickness to Campbell. He's an active
- 16:57player with a looseness and ease to his movement. But
- 17:00there were snaps of stack and shed physicality in the
- 17:03run game, playing downhill, and I was really happy to
- 17:06see that because he didn't really do that at Alabama,
- 17:09you know, because don't forget, you know, we haven't talked
- 17:11in a while. We'll just remind people that he went
- 17:13to Alabama as a pass rusher and they had Dallas
- 17:16Turner and Will Anderson, so they moved him to stack backer.
- 17:20But you know, I wonder if the Eagles would consider,
- 17:22depending on you know, maybe he can become a guy
- 17:24who can rush the quarterback, you know, depending on on
- 17:27how the season plays out. You know, you never know.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Well, his first sack came from a creeper press semtype pressure.
- 17:34Speaker 2: There's lot as I recall, though I think he was
- 17:37unblocked though, correct.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Right, I think that's the the sim worked. It broke
- 17:41down the protection skill.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Right right, right right. But no, he can do that.
- 17:46But I've been really impressed. I mean, he's you know,
- 17:50and the just the athleticism just jumps off the film.
- 17:54I Mean, this guy, you know, I'm not one who
- 17:56makes predictions, but I'd be hard pressed to think n
- 17:58Kobe Dean's getting his job. But that's just me. I mean,
- 18:01this kid's six three to forty, you know, and he
- 18:04freaking moves. I mean, he just this kid's a superior athlete.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Awesome. Let's finish it off on the back end the
- 18:11two corners. We wanted you to look at Greg with
- 18:13a newcomer Jaccrean Bennett and the rookie Mac McWilliams, who
- 18:17played the slot end the outside. Vic seems to have
- 18:20taken a liking to mac mwa.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I like him a lot. I liked his tape in college,
- 18:24you know, I I yeah, he played inside, he played outside.
- 18:28You know, he can play man coverage and he can
- 18:30recover when he's initially beaten. I think ultimately he might
- 18:35be bitter equipped to play in the slot. You know,
- 18:36he does have idea. He doesn't have the ideal length
- 18:39you like, but he can play outside. He's competitively tough.
- 18:43There's a swagger to his game. He's got balance, he's
- 18:47got body control. He's laterally explosive. He can change direction
- 18:50in tight spaces. I like this kid. I mean, I
- 18:53liked his college tape and I thought that you saw that,
- 18:56you know, and because he played a lot of snaps
- 18:57in the preseason. I think he played every snap in
- 18:59the final game. So, believe it or not, I watched
- 19:02the entire final game, but he played every snap in
- 19:05the final game. And uh, you know there's something there
- 19:09with that kid. I like him. I mean, you know,
- 19:11I don't know. Look, it's a long season. Okay, it's
- 19:15just starting, you know, in a week. You know, at
- 19:18this point, from what I gathered, Dorri Jackson's going to
- 19:22start opposite Junia and Mitchell. But it's a long season.
- 19:25Guys get hurt. You know, has Dorri Jackson played a
- 19:28full season in a number of years? I don't think
- 19:30he has. Has he I.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Don't think so he only played. He didn't play the
- 19:33whole year with the Giants last year.
- 19:35Speaker 4: I know that.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Yeah. So, I mean, you know, we're going to see
- 19:37how all this maps out. I mean, you know, because
- 19:40because Williams McWilliams can play on the outside. Maybe it's
- 19:44not ideal, but he can play on the outside.
- 19:47Speaker 3: He didn't practice. They did prustrate him. Yeah, yeah, so
- 19:51we'll see what happens.
- 19:52Speaker 2: For oruse. Now you're gonna ask me about your Coryan
- 19:54Bennett and Cordyan Bennet was a guy who I just
- 19:57last year for whatever reason, I saw a lot of
- 20:00the Raiders defense. It's just what you know, It's one
- 20:02of those It's just one of those things. You know.
- 20:04It depends on who they're playing, you know. And I
- 20:07tell you what I liked. I liked him coming out
- 20:10too of Maryland to Corey and Bennett is another feisty kid.
- 20:13I saw games in which he matched up to Courtland Sutton.
- 20:15I saw games in which he matched up to Jamar Chase.
- 20:18He matches up to these guys. I mean, you know,
- 20:21I like him. I mean, you know when they made
- 20:26that trade. Because I'm not a training camp, so I
- 20:28don't know how you know, how everything's going. But I
- 20:30thought to myself it would surprise me if down the
- 20:33road he becomes the Starughter opposite Mitchell, because I think he.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Can do that interesting well does he? He was described
- 20:41to me as a little bit of uh similar traits
- 20:45or similar to Killy Ringo and that he's a very
- 20:47good athlete, but just a little stiff hip. Does that
- 20:49show up?
- 20:50Speaker 2: I don't think he's a stiff as Ringo Ringo to
- 20:52me and and I hate to say it, he's just
- 20:56on the high level of stiff, like he just can't
- 20:58stop and change direct And.
- 21:00Speaker 1: There were preseason snaps that showed that.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you know, look, think about what teams
- 21:07do in the preseason. Okay, think about the Jamar Chase
- 21:10touchdown against Ringo that was zero coverage. Vic Fangiel publicly
- 21:14came out and said he would never call that coverage
- 21:17in that situation. But it's preseason. He wants to see
- 21:20how guys react, you know. I mean, that's what teams do.
- 21:23That's why you can't get caught up in preseason football
- 21:25as far as a lot of things, you know, because teams,
- 21:28you know, work on specific things. Okay, and look, Ringo
- 21:33is not the only guy. Jamar Chase has done that too,
- 21:35but you know, you saw that he struggles to stop
- 21:38and then he has to change direction and redirect. That's
- 21:41not his game. And the Eagles play a lot of
- 21:44off coverage on the outside. Yeah they can you press
- 21:47in quarters, of course you can, and they do, but
- 21:50you know, they probably play more off coverage with their
- 21:53corners than true press. And when you're playing an off coverage,
- 21:57you have to be able to transition, change direction, redirect.
- 22:01You know, Ringo with his physical traits is much better
- 22:06suited to be a press man corner. But that's not
- 22:09what the Eagles defense is as a foundation, right.
- 22:13Speaker 1: All right, great stuff that is a look at. So
- 22:16we didn't give Greg everybody. We just wanted to ask
- 22:18him about certain guys preseason snaps. The next time we
- 22:22hear from Greg and US three are doing this show
- 22:25is going to be Inside the Tape breaking down that
- 22:28Eagles Cowboys Week one season opener Thursday night. We'll do
- 22:32offensive defense. We'll do it like we do every year.
- 22:35And then we got Greg for nineteen at least more
- 22:37weeks after that. So Greg always good to get a
- 22:40little our appetites went early. Here a little appetizer of
- 22:44what's to come. And thank you for that preseason breakdown.
- 22:47So for Greg Cosell and Adam Kaplan, I'm Jeff Mosher.
- 22:50You've been watching a special edition of Inside the Tape
