Tropical Storm Cristobal just popped up Wednesday as the third named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season — but don’t panic, it’s forming far out in the northern subtropical Atlantic and heading east-northeast, well away from U.S. shores. Forecasters expect it to weaken quickly and fade by Thursday with no threat to land or watches in place.
