- 1:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, if you purchase any of our books, the same goes with that as well.
- 1:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we are just uh so thankful to have you with us here today.
- 1:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it's been uh it's been a pretty long week here, uh, as most of the the weeks are, uh, but in a good way.
- 1:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh been able to spend some extra time with family uh before uh the uh I guess the uh school kind of starts, I guess is the way to say it.
- 1:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and and so it's uh it's always a blessing to be able to uh be with family and do the best that I can and that we can together uh as a human race.
- 2:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So uh we are here to talk about hard topics, easy topics, and all topics and in between.
- 2:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we don't have a show, we don't have an organization if it wasn't for you watching and listening.
- 2:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So thank you so very much.
- 2:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And uh if you even uh if you have your phone out, if you're watching or listening, or if you don't, maybe you can pull it out and share the Voices for Voices podcast with maybe 25 or 50 of your contacts.
- 2:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, and we have over 550 episodes.
- 2:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, so we have quite the catalog that you can look through.
- 2:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so welcome to everyone who is watching and listening for the first time, and welcome back to those who have been with us from the beginning and have seen or and or heard uh our shows in the past.
- 3:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We thank each and every one of you, and we do spend what five minutes, you know, talking about that, but it's so true.
- 3:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, we don't we don't want to take anything for granted because today we're here, tomorrow we might not be.
- 3:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we're doing the best we can with the time we're given on earth, and uh that involves uh sharing content, stories, experiences with as many people as we can.
- 3:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Goal is to help as many people to hopefully be relatable to a lot of people to help people, maybe go get help, and you don't even have to call it help, just go talk to somebody.
- 4:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It always turns out this way where it's like journaling, but without the pen and the pencil.
- 4:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I'm journaling right now, but I'm speaking and sharing.
- 4:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, that's the journaling that I do.
- 4:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, we all do things a little bit differently, and that's that's the cool part about us as human beings that we're able to do that in our own unique way.
- 5:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some of us similar, some of us different, but we're all human beings.
- 5:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And having the respect, we'll you will never uh never hear threats, anything like that, uh, coming from voices for voices, anything related to voices for voices.
- 5:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, we don't believe in it, we don't think it's right, we don't think it's uh humane to talk that way and to share in that manner.
- 5:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we just ask that uh you uphold that as well for you and those that you lead.
- 5:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it is winding down summer.
- 5:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's uh it's really gone pretty fast.
- 6:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh we we've had, as I mentioned, a lot of a lot of days that are just so hot that it the safe part is if you're able to to stay cool and to stay inside as much as possible.
- 6:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so I think there was so much of that that lasted for days, and I think there was maybe a maybe like a two-week span that it it uh it lasted for at one period, one point in time.
- 6:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But it's uh again, uh grateful to be alive, grateful to be here, to talk, to share, to laugh, to cry, to love, to uplift.
- 6:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's what we're here for.
- 7:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's just such an amazing, amazing time to be alive because we're we're so interconnected.
- 7:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We talk about how far distance-wise our podcast and TV show goes.
- 7:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It goes all over the world.
- 7:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's it's really remarkable in the year 2026 that we're able to talk, we're able to share, and we can touch lives in ways we never could have dreamed about.
- 7:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh I mean, I guess we could have dreamed about it.
- 7:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh you know, growing up, you know, we're busy playing with friends and sports and those those types of things that we were we really weren't thinking about as much of the future.
- 8:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The future I thought I had was a professional baseball player, football player, uh, astronaut, basketball, I mean, you name it, that that's where I felt that I was going to land when I when I grew up, and none of the above happened.
- 8:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or none of the below happen.
- 8:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so you you probably wonder like what what makes you get up in the morning?
- 8:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What what makes you want to do what you do?
- 8:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, some of our shows are better than others, I guess.
- 8:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, but that's just like being human.
- 9:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like sometimes we do things really good, sometimes we don't, and that's okay.
- 9:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's no problem with that at all.
- 9:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're able to overcome a lot by ourselves, but with my mental health, with your mental health, with everybody's mental health, and health in general, we can't do it all on our own.
- 9:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We can try.
- 9:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Trust me, I tried.
- 9:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I tried and tried and tried.
- 9:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But until you have like a team, you know, behind you, you know, uh football's coming up.
- 9:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so if there were no coaches and it was just the football team, it would it would be pretty uh pretty wild out there.
- 10:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But to have a you know, your teammates, that's helpful.
- 10:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But also you want to have those coaches that are able to impart their experiences, their wisdom on each player and help during games, help during practices, help during scrimmages.
- 10:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I feel mental health, as well as all health, by having a team approach, we're able to I don't want to say get through hard times easier.
- 11:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're able to we're able to, I guess, manage better.
- 11:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it doesn't mean that all the stress, all the anxiety, all that goes away.
- 11:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But by managing it, it is okay, I'm feeling really anxious, I'm really nervous.
- 11:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Whether we know something's going on, whether we don't know, whatever that may be, if we're feeling that way, we look at, well, what can we do to help go in the opposite direction to help lower stress, lower that volume on the anxiety.
- 11:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so by having a team with us is one of the ways that it helps from a professional standpoint, having our best interest at my in mind again.
- 12:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I've tried going at it alone.
- 12:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And are we still gonna have days where we feel alone and they're gonna be hard?
- 12:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Absolutely.
- 12:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Doesn't make life a walk in the park every single day very few days I would say does it feel like things are going in a uh in a in a great direction.
- 13:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so if you're able to find find a psychiatrist, forget about the name of what a psychiatrist is, forget what the word therapist means.
- 13:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Those are just titles.
- 13:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like in football, there's head coach, assistant coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, quarterback coach, receiver coach, you know, there's all these coaches when we're talking about this football example, that they're all pulling together.
- 13:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So while a coach may be a specific position coach, like a wide receiver coach, the wide receiver coach needs to understand what the quarterback coach like what to expect.
- 14:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, are we gonna be doing a lot of passing plays?
- 14:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm talking about American football here, by the way.
- 14:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I should have said that at the outset for our Aussie friends and others.
- 14:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So everybody's got to do their thing separate, but they gotta also do it together, and that's where the players they do things separate, they individually have different jobs to do, different plays, but then they also have to come together, and they have to block the other team from getting the ball or vice versa.
- 15:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it is critical to have each of our mental healths at the best level that it can be.
- 15:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Nothing's perfect, nobody's perfect, so we can't expect our mental health or other health to be perfect, because it's not, it's just not gonna be.
- 16:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That I couldn't do everything on my own.
- 16:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I had an expectation that I could and I was wrong.
- 16:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we're allowed to we're allowed to say I was wrong.
- 16:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're also able to say I was right.
- 16:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I feel better, I feel worse, I'm happy, I'm sad.
- 17:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, all these different emotions come and go and come and go.
- 17:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They don't last.
- 17:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I may feel down at this very moment, and then maybe the next moment something happens that's positive and go, oh this is incredible.
- 17:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know that happened yesterday for me, and in in in a couple ways.
- 17:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh the one I will discuss is you know, we have this is episode five hundred and sixty.
- 17:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we have five hundred and sixty episodes, not fifty-six, not sixty, but five hundred and sixty episodes now.
- 18:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I invite each and every one of you that's watching and listening right now to go back, download all the other episodes.
- 18:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I guarantee you're gonna find a ton of episodes that when you have some free time that you're gonna want to watch or listen.
- 18:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Same thing goes for your contacts, the people that you share the voices for voices podcasts and TV show with.
- 18:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They're gonna find so many different episodes, both with guests and without.
- 19:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is my again, this is my form of journaling.
- 19:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's something that I'm glad I'm doing, I'm glad I got started.
- 19:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so yesterday I got some good news from a potential guest on our show that we've been hoping and praying that we we would be able to connect and be able to put put something together to share.
- 19:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can't do this alone.
- 19:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Our organization, we can't do this alone.
- 20:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's through the awesome people like you, your contacts, your friends, family, teammates, fellow coaches, co-workers, what what what have you?
- 20:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's what's brought us here.
- 20:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We don't have a show if we don't have you.
- 20:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We don't have an organization if we don't have you.
- 20:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that's why we say thank you so much.
- 20:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because anybody who thinks that they're it's all because of them, that's just sounds like uh, you know, the ego's in there a lot.
- 20:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It might be a decent chunk of the the reason, but it's not the whole thing.
- 21:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I think just by being transparent and sharing, some don't like that we share a lot.
- 21:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I don't know how else to be.
- 21:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, if we're voices for voices, I need to be a voice for me and others.
- 21:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You need to be a voice for yourself and others, and that comes in different shapes and sizes and different times of the year, some for long episodes, some for short episodes.
- 21:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's just all about.
- 22:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Having faith that what we're doing is making a difference.
- 22:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I can just feel it.
- 22:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can feel we're making a difference.
- 22:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're making a positive difference across the world.
- 22:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can't.
- 22:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I couldn't fathom that at the beginning of our organization.
- 22:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's a huge goal that I that and we had.
- 22:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But it's another to actually execute and make it happen.
- 22:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so for all the days that I've wanted to just not do an episode, and just for one reason or another, I miss an opportunity to come into somebody's live and say, it's okay.
- 23:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Start small.
- 23:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: My students say, you know, we look at your profiles, you know, LinkedIn from the professional side, and and it and it looks like overbearing, overwhelming.
- 23:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I tell my students, and I tell you and anybody else that's listening and watching.
- 23:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You have to start somewhere.
- 23:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I didn't just wake up and go, oh wow, this is episode 560.
- 23:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's been a long time, it's been a lot of work, it's been a lot of money that I've spent out of pocket.
- 24:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And God keeps putting these nuggets of opportunity near me, in front of me, beside me, sometimes a little bit in the rear view mirror.
- 24:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That this is this is what I'm here for.
- 24:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is why I'm still alive.
- 24:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe episode 560 is maybe that finishes my work on on earth.
- 24:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't know.
- 24:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't know when my time is gonna come.
- 24:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't know a lot of people that that know that.
- 24:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I don't just speaking for myself.
- 24:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I want to make the biggest difference that I can during the short amount of time I have left.
- 25:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because we all don't know when it can be.
- 25:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It could be tonight, tomorrow, in a day, 10 minutes, 30 seconds.
- 25:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We we don't know.
- 25:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we don't we don't have to play God.
- 25:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We can just we can just be ourselves.
- 25:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And this feels good being able to do this podcast, this show to to lead the voices for voices organization, mythical creatures around the world, so many other ventures that some are more in the works than others.
- 26:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some are at different points in in the pro you know, in the project.
- 26:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, if a project takes six months, some are an episode, some are in, you know, the the fourth month, some are in the first, some are two days before getting started.
- 26:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So all we can do is just be ourselves.
- 26:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sounds corny, sounds cheesy, sounds basic.
- 26:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, I'm not here to try to sound smarter than anybody at all.
- 26:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm just here to talk about things I've been through that might be something or some things that you've been through or others.
- 27:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And again, I've already helped somebody.
- 27:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What is that reason?
- 27:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or what it or what are those reasons?
- 27:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's not.
- 27:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: For me, it wasn't.
- 28:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you would ask me 10-15 years ago about this, I'd probably been not laughing and like uh like ha ha ha.
- 28:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like not like that.
- 28:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I've just been like, no way, there's no way we're gonna have 560 episodes.
- 28:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's no way we're gonna be reaching over a hundred and fifteen or so countries.
- 28:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's no way we're gonna be reaching thousands of cities, provinces, territories, states, countries.
- 28:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's just incredible.
- 28:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so if I wasn't meant to do this, I wouldn't be doing this.
- 29:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's not a time filler, it's when I when I have time, I'm like, okay, this is this is when I need to do it.
- 29:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is when we need to, you know, get things scheduled, get things put together, just like with our guests.
- 29:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Find out when there's a mutual time, mutual date, and we do the episode or episode, and then we get them out as quickly as possible.
- 29:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, there's some that we may hold on to for a period of time, but for the most part, I'm like, let's get this out.
- 30:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We gotta get the we gotta this is gonna help so many people.
- 30:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We gotta do it.
- 30:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let's get this out, let's get this edited, let's get this put together, let's get the title, let's get the description, let's get the hashtags, let's, you know, that's what that's what I'm talking about.
- 30:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm very impatient, as I I've said.
- 30:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You've watched me say, you listened to me say one of things that happen in the snap of a finger.
- 30:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's not always the case, and sometimes, a lot of times, is because there's something bigger and greater than what we could ever fathom or ever imagine.
- 30:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So you don't have to be a believer in God.
- 31:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I gander to say that you probably look up to some higher power, whatever the name is, or whether that's a role model you look up to, a mentor.
- 31:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, we're all we're all just trying at the end of the day, we're all just trying to live.
- 31:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, let's call it what it is, we're just trying to live.
- 31:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like Maslow's hierarchy of need, like we need shelter, we need food, we need clothing, we need water.
- 31:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They're just certain things.
- 31:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If we don't have that, if I don't have that, I can't do a show or shows.
- 32:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We've got to have those bare necessities.
- 32:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it breaks my heart every time I see somebody on the side of the street that is in need of those basic necessities.
- 32:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I just breaks my heart.
- 32:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not able to help help those individuals.
- 32:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I saw one of those individuals yesterday and had a dog.
- 32:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not here to judge what somebody's choices were, why they're there.
- 33:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I can tell you this, I don't know that it's a choice that any of us would want to be in just the hope that we ha we're able to scratch enough money together so we can eat and his dog can eat my it.
- 33:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe it's because we have a dog now that it's changed my outlook on pets because you know people some research says you having you know a like a pet dog, for example, like you're taking care, you know, you're helping feed, take it, go for a walk, all those things.
- 34:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And there's been so many episodes in the last few months where our dog is usually right next to me, or uh depending on which where where I'm at, where we're filming, she'll just be nestled up close to my arm and just take a snooze.
- 34:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: She's a dog, she's not gonna live forever.
- 34:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm a human, I'm not gonna live forever.
- 34:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So she barks at other dogs, she barks at sounds, she barks, she's a dog, but there there is you know some kind of evidence out there, you know, with you know mental health and that you know, to have like a support animal could be helpful, can be helpful, and I think that's what Lucy, our dog, has been for me.
- 35:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's just been really helpful and really neat.
- 35:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Now does she always go to the bathroom outside?
- 35:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, that that's something we're we're still working on But again, she's a dog for humans, like they can understand like a little bit of body movement and the end of the day, she's a dog you know, but by by being able to pet pet her and just you know have my arm around her and we're just sitting editing a show that's probably been helpful too.
- 36:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So maybe maybe check that out.
- 36:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Obviously, if you have to check out like with allergies, and there's you know, there's all kinds of things we have to figure out before go ahead and get like a service animal.
- 37:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: These are some of the things again that have helped me.
- 37:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some you've heard before, some you might not have heard before.
- 37:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: My goal outside of reaching and helping at least three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond is just to say, here's what I'm doing.
- 37:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe you pick one part of it, maybe you pick two parts, maybe you find something else that works better for you.
- 38:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So maybe just by watching and listening to this episode, it frees up a little bit of your mind and your head space because I'm gonna try this or I'm gonna try that.
- 38:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, this isn't a popularity contest.
- 38:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some people think it is like I'm just trying to live, and I'm just trying to do the best I can, and I fail way more than I succeed.
- 38:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I remind you, I'm only human, we're only human.
