West Nile Virus Found in Mosquitos in Meriden
Attention Meriden residents, we have received notice from the CT Department of Public Health that mosquitos trapped on August 5, 2026 by the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station in Meriden have tested positive for West Nile Virus. Meriden's trapping and testing site is Falcon Park. So far this year, 16 towns and cities in Connecticut have had mosquitos test positive for West Nile Virus.
West Nile virus is a leading mosquito-borne disease spread primarily through the bites of infected mosquitoes, which pick up the virus from birds.
