- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists and artists and artists.
- 0:06Speaker 1: This week we're talking to some of the directors of
- 0:09Speaker 1: the newest biopic movies. You know them, you love them,
- 0:13Speaker 1: and it's not their story, it's somebody else's.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Bohemian Rhapsody rocket Man Spencer. These are some of the
- 0:20Speaker 2: most recent biopics that have taken Hollywood by storm.
- 0:25Speaker 3: And the directors of biopics such as those but not those,
- 0:29Speaker 3: are here in the studio to talk about them today.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Now take out your lens of history. Let's paint this
- 0:39Speaker 3: person in a new light, and let's listen in.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Wow, dude, I'm freaking pumped for this.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Night.
- 0:52Speaker 5: I've been on night shoots.
- 0:55Speaker 6: Yeah, just getting home at five thirty in the morning,
- 0:58Speaker 6: you know it, having a little.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Past freaking.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You get am a little pasta.
- 1:08Speaker 5: You've been there all the time, we've been there.
- 1:12Speaker 6: You have to dedicate your life to dedicating the depiction
- 1:15Speaker 6: of another life means.
- 1:17Speaker 3: The dedication to the depiction that's so correct.
- 1:20Speaker 7: Yes, a little breakfast pasta. I love it.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Right in the morning.
- 1:26Speaker 7: Yeah, everything's in omelet at the end of the day.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Wow, yes, yeah, like it's a hot dog and sandwich.
- 1:35Speaker 3: More like is a hot dog and omelet? Literally, I
- 1:37Speaker 3: think it could be if we're like it's splitting hairs.
- 1:40Speaker 5: It's like I'm a director, I'm eating dinner at a
- 1:42Speaker 5: time you're eating breakfast.
- 1:43Speaker 8: We're built different. That's that's what we're talking about.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Literally, And I think what unites all of our work
- 1:49Speaker 3: not to totally pivot it already to the thing, but
- 1:52Speaker 3: like we are covering people who are built different exactly,
- 1:57Speaker 3: and our movies, biopics by nature, are showing how we
- 2:02Speaker 3: built them so different.
- 2:04Speaker 5: Literally, those people.
- 2:05Speaker 3: The building blocks, it's the building blocks of life. How
- 2:07Speaker 3: did we get here?
- 2:08Speaker 2: You know you have to rebuild the person's story as
- 2:13Speaker 2: your understanding this story.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yes, how do you put their whole life into three hours?
- 2:19Speaker 1: I'm going to figure it out, give me a minute.
- 2:21Speaker 6: I'm dedic we have a dedication to the depiction of
- 2:25Speaker 6: the description of the life.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yes, d T D T d T d T D
- 2:37Speaker 3: that's a movie.
- 2:37Speaker 5: That's let's go on and introduce ourselves a should we
- 2:41Speaker 5: talk about maybe introduce ourselves and then our current subject?
- 2:45Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:48Speaker 8: Great, I mean I'm happy.
- 2:49Speaker 3: To start amazing.
- 2:51Speaker 5: My name is Edward Wallett and Edgar Wallett Jallet and
- 3:00Speaker 5: I am a filmmaker. I've made a couple of films,
- 3:03Speaker 5: but I'm really really excited about my newest movie, Goose,
- 3:06Speaker 5: which is the biopic of Mother Goose and kind of
- 3:10Speaker 5: how she came up with these incredible stories. Yeah, because
- 3:14Speaker 5: I really sat down and I thought, I really thought
- 3:17Speaker 5: Mother Goose is the first rock star. Literally, you thought,
- 3:22Speaker 5: I thought, you know what, Mother Goose is the first
- 3:27Speaker 5: rock star?
- 3:28Speaker 2: You know, that reminds me of It was me when
- 3:30Speaker 2: Lin Manuel sat down and he was like, you know
- 3:32Speaker 2: the story of Alexander Hamilton is hip hop?
- 3:34Speaker 7: That sound of that.
- 3:36Speaker 2: So you're saying the sound of Mother Goose is or
- 3:39Speaker 2: the identity is a rock star?
- 3:40Speaker 8: I mean yeah, exactly.
- 3:42Speaker 5: So I wanted to paint her life and how she
- 3:43Speaker 5: came up with these stories, Mary Goose woman in eighteen hundreds,
- 3:47Speaker 5: how she came up with these stories in her life. So,
- 3:50Speaker 5: you know, just lightly, for example, she's walking by and
- 3:55Speaker 5: she's listening to this this guy that's shearing sheep going,
- 4:00Speaker 5: she's listening to a guy.
- 4:01Speaker 8: Yeah, she's so.
- 4:02Speaker 5: She hears some guy go bob a black sheep have
- 4:04Speaker 5: you and wool? She goes, stop, wow, say that again? Wow,
- 4:07Speaker 5: so my movie's full of stuff like mother says mother
- 4:10Speaker 5: goose and then we cut to her reading the poem
- 4:12Speaker 5: to a sold out house. Wow.
- 4:14Speaker 8: Wow, she is a rock star. I mean we give
- 4:18Speaker 8: her credit, we don't give her credit.
- 4:20Speaker 5: And I pinted her just like Sophia Coppola did for
- 4:23Speaker 5: Mary Antoinette with Kirson Dunst.
- 4:25Speaker 7: Oh my god, a brilliant.
- 4:27Speaker 9: One of the hallmarks of this genre.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, So I'm so excited to chat because you know,
- 4:32Speaker 5: I'm turning history on its head like Humpty Dumpty turned
- 4:36Speaker 5: his own head on the ground.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Wow.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Literally, yeah, by.
- 4:40Speaker 7: A press packet a little bit.
- 4:41Speaker 8: It's part of the kay. I hope they use it.
- 4:43Speaker 5: I sent them forty hours of footage and I said,
- 4:45Speaker 5: use what you want, honey. Pec so fun.
- 4:49Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean that has to be next for you, right,
- 4:51Speaker 9: because Humpty Dumpty kind of a hip hop icon.
- 4:53Speaker 5: Literally, Yeah, well, I guess I could do by a
- 4:56Speaker 5: big un Humpty the first rapper.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yeah he's fiction, he's not real. No, he's real, he's really.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I watched this video. Signs is proved that he's real.
- 5:08Speaker 8: Where did you find that video?
- 5:10Speaker 5: On youtubee?
- 5:10Speaker 8: On YouTube, Signs prove that a big egg man is real.
- 5:13Speaker 8: I don't think that's true.
- 5:14Speaker 5: They found his remains.
- 5:15Speaker 8: He's real, they so they found.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I think I've seen that video. They do a lot
- 5:21Speaker 3: of stuff about the pyramids, came.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Up with Humpty Dumpty. This is not This isn't really.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I think Humpty Dumpty is older than time itself.
- 5:29Speaker 9: So I don't want you guys to look at ancient
- 5:33Speaker 9: Humpy d is absolutely you think just because all the
- 5:36Speaker 9: kings horses and kingsmen couldn't put him back together again,
- 5:39Speaker 9: that invalidates his.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Existing No, look what you think because competence of the
- 5:46Speaker 3: king's men, you think he's not fully whole.
- 5:50Speaker 5: I'm not saying that. I'm not saying I think we
- 5:52Speaker 5: should move on. Isn't real. I'm going to stick to
- 5:55Speaker 5: that because I I literally have the text that Mary
- 5:59Speaker 5: Goose came up with to create Humpty Dumpty. So I
- 6:02Speaker 5: don't know what this is. She must have met him, No,
- 6:05Speaker 5: she didn't meet him. Don't look at me, like, don't
- 6:06Speaker 5: look at each other.
- 6:07Speaker 3: She must each other, Yeah.
- 6:10Speaker 8: About each other with my.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Beause that makes so much senseense she would would have mattered.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, well go anyway.
- 6:17Speaker 6: Oh, yes, of course I have pleased to be here.
- 6:21Speaker 6: I'm even solomonites, you might. I've been in the industry
- 6:26Speaker 6: since the nineteen seventies, you know, and I've met quite
- 6:28Speaker 6: a niche for myself in the biopic field.
- 6:31Speaker 9: Very much have, of course.
- 6:33Speaker 6: But you know this is one of my most ambitious
- 6:37Speaker 6: biopics yet. I've been covering the lead singer of Blink
- 6:43Speaker 6: one eighty three, three two No no Blink one eighty three,
- 6:48Speaker 6: the little known, very short lived band. I had about
- 6:52Speaker 6: a twenty five minute run before they decided it was
- 6:55Speaker 6: a bad idea and they would.
- 6:56Speaker 9: Be sued for copyright infringement.
- 6:58Speaker 6: It's about the decision of going from forming Blink one
- 7:02Speaker 6: ergy three and then not doing it anymore. It's a
- 7:05Speaker 6: four part six hours. It's a one shot, right, it's
- 7:08Speaker 6: a single shot biopic or part six hour four parts,
- 7:12Speaker 6: six hours single shot.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Shot biopicks six parts, six parts.
- 7:16Speaker 9: In the four parts, it's part.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Of six hours.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Four six sex.
- 7:21Speaker 6: Yeah, four multiplied by six, which is, as we all know,
- 7:25Speaker 6: twenty four, and it is, in fact.
- 7:28Speaker 5: He doesn't know.
- 7:28Speaker 1: He probably doesn't think that's really I know that I
- 7:31Speaker 1: literally said twenty four before any of you guys said
- 7:32Speaker 1: twenty four.
- 7:33Speaker 5: So don't you guys, don't have to paint me like that.
- 7:35Speaker 5: I was so happy to be here. I love you guys.
- 7:37Speaker 5: So I don't like this energy.
- 7:42Speaker 1: All right, you were saying, yes, I interrupted by him.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Really, I was just so happy, really love you guys.
- 7:50Speaker 8: So I don't know why this is okay.
- 7:51Speaker 5: I wish I could turn BacT time interesting now.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I love it.
- 7:54Speaker 6: This is the humpty dumpey denihalism is going to cause
- 7:57Speaker 6: a rift in the room.
- 7:58Speaker 5: I don't want to keep talking about how it's a
- 8:01Speaker 5: big egg. You're not going to tell me that he's real.
- 8:03Speaker 5: I simply won't say. I want to hear my So
- 8:06Speaker 5: it was it was a failed band that lasted a.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Day, and yeah, it's not failed. Isn't less of God?
- 8:10Speaker 8: I'm striking out.
- 8:14Speaker 6: It was less about failure and more about a conception
- 8:16Speaker 6: that was never brought to fruition. But I thought, if
- 8:19Speaker 6: these bands get a whole biopic treatment for their thirty
- 8:22Speaker 6: year runs, what.
- 8:23Speaker 9: About the ones that never were a band at all?
- 8:26Speaker 9: Sort of a I.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Love that it can us live essentially an entire full
- 8:33Speaker 3: day with Blink one eighty three is such a choice
- 8:37Speaker 3: and and do you have a plan for how that's
- 8:39Speaker 3: going to pan out in theaters? Just logistically, are people
- 8:42Speaker 3: going to come back? Are they going to sleep in
- 8:44Speaker 3: the middle? Are their breaks?
- 8:46Speaker 9: It will be one uncut screening.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Just finish eyes all the way through finish.
- 8:53Speaker 6: And if anyone falls asleep, we will spray them in
- 8:55Speaker 6: the face with cold water. Oh four D yeah, yeah exactly,
- 8:59Speaker 6: so they have to stay wake for the whole thing because.
- 9:02Speaker 4: You know, you're not allowed to blink.
- 9:04Speaker 5: So you'll so like you go to the on the
- 9:08Speaker 5: movie and it says like seven pm one day and
- 9:10Speaker 5: then yeah the next.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Day, that's right, and then you godict a donkey man,
- 9:17Speaker 1: it's a deconstruction of the biopic.
- 9:19Speaker 6: You know you said it's by dedication to a description
- 9:22Speaker 6: of a depiction of a deconstruction.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Yeah a human Yeah, donkey dick a donkey donkey Yeah. Sorry, guys,
- 9:30Speaker 1: what's up? I'm uh d D the four. I'm one
- 9:35Speaker 1: of four d D's in my family, so I'm d
- 9:38Speaker 1: D the four. I'm kind of like a gnarly guy
- 9:41Speaker 1: the fourth?
- 9:41Speaker 5: What?
- 9:42Speaker 1: No, the four?
- 9:44Speaker 3: What's the what's the three?
- 9:46Speaker 10: Is?
- 9:46Speaker 4: What?
- 9:47Speaker 5: Who's d D?
- 9:48Speaker 3: Is it d D the three or D.
- 9:49Speaker 1: D, the third D, the one D, the two D,
- 9:51Speaker 1: the three D, the four. I don't know what's so hard.
- 9:54Speaker 9: It just sounds like you're four of them. It sounds
- 9:56Speaker 9: like you are a band of four. But that's what
- 9:58Speaker 9: it sounds like.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You've got sisters and we all hang out and get
- 10:02Speaker 1: great meals together on Sundays to kind of bring the
- 10:05Speaker 1: waitress to her knees in terms of how much we're asking.
- 10:09Speaker 8: Okay, cumberssome meals. Yes, yes, people.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Would say great meals.
- 10:21Speaker 1: So I am currently almost finally picture wrapped on the
- 10:26Speaker 1: beautiful bio beck, the Rob deer Deck biopic.
- 10:30Speaker 5: I was going to guess that could you tell?
- 10:34Speaker 7: Almost like is that part of your press? Kid too?
- 10:37Speaker 1: His words have kind of melded into me because I've
- 10:40Speaker 1: been working on this story for so long, so many
- 10:45Speaker 1: different things have.
- 10:48Speaker 5: Just come to me, and.
- 10:50Speaker 1: It's been such a beautiful story to tell because not
- 10:53Speaker 1: a lot of people know his true story.
- 10:56Speaker 5: Nobody really knows the Rob.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Deer Deck true story. He grew up in a middle
- 11:02Speaker 1: to upper wealthy class family in a suburb, found skateboarding
- 11:06Speaker 1: and decided if I can become lightly pro, I can
- 11:10Speaker 1: make my own brand. I can make my own company
- 11:13Speaker 1: and then I can make TV. And so it's so beautiful.
- 11:17Speaker 1: You know what this guy has done, Like he is
- 11:19Speaker 1: working and working and working and working, and there's such
- 11:21Speaker 1: a story there. There is such a story there. There
- 11:24Speaker 1: is such a story there. It's ridiculousness.
- 11:27Speaker 5: If I can say, kind of a conflict of his
- 11:30Speaker 5: like I wonder if we're still looking. We're still looking.
- 11:33Speaker 1: That's why we're so close to picture wrap. There was
- 11:36Speaker 1: one some conflict we were thinking of, like maybe he
- 11:41Speaker 1: is angry at a skateboard.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Maybe he builds.
- 11:46Speaker 1: His fantasy fantasy factory and he goes it's too big.
- 11:50Speaker 1: So we're really looking for a fantasy. Like he's so happy,
- 11:53Speaker 1: that's the problem. He's kind of content with life and
- 11:55Speaker 1: life has just really worked out for him. So we're
- 11:58Speaker 1: really just trying to find a kernel of pain and
- 12:01Speaker 1: suffering in his life. And I'm sure it's there.
- 12:03Speaker 5: I'm sure it's there soon.
- 12:05Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 12:05Speaker 1: So it's it's it's it's quaking with fun. It's what
- 12:09Speaker 1: we like to say. It's drivening in a in a
- 12:13Speaker 1: wacky way.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Cool.
- 12:14Speaker 1: It feels like you're up at a hotel and you
- 12:17Speaker 1: don't know what to watch, so.
- 12:22Speaker 4: You're doing.
- 12:22Speaker 9: Okay, I didn't one of those great those great breakfast
- 12:27Speaker 9: with the other d ds just catching off.
- 12:30Speaker 1: No, it's gonna be. It's gonna work, and it's gonna
- 12:32Speaker 1: be great, so.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Awesome, it's so amazing, and it's kind of works interesting
- 12:37Speaker 5: to try to find a conflict right before picture. Yes, yeah, yeah, yea.
- 12:41Speaker 1: So we got to the end of the movie and
- 12:42Speaker 1: we shot it and we're just editing it and it's
- 12:44Speaker 1: coming together and it feels like a thirteen minute short film,
- 12:52Speaker 1: but it's actually.
- 12:55Speaker 5: What we should feel like.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Thirteen minute short was what I always say, a short
- 13:00Speaker 1: film that feels too long.
- 13:01Speaker 8: Yes, short film thirteen long for sure.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Let me tell you guys, it's working. It's ridiculousness. It's ridicty, donkey,
- 13:10Speaker 1: it's ridculous. It's nuts up and nuts out. Get ready
- 13:14Speaker 1: for a ride.
- 13:15Speaker 7: Wow, nuts up and nuts out, Nuts up and.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Nuts out, nuts up and nuts out because you're gonna
- 13:20Speaker 1: want to get them.
- 13:21Speaker 7: Out, get your nuts out.
- 13:24Speaker 9: Hey, okay, ok I.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Think it's works.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Somebody else, go go ahead, go ahead.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Well all right, I I my ears are burning.
- 13:40Speaker 8: Why from someone else talking about you?
- 13:47Speaker 5: Is that related?
- 13:48Speaker 1: Or are you?
- 13:49Speaker 7: Is your film getting bitting walls.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Are burning. I was just in this sauna for too long?
- 14:01Speaker 5: Is related disclosure?
- 14:04Speaker 3: My name is Julia fits Morris. Is there a real person?
- 14:10Speaker 5: It's you, it's you, baby.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Person. Believe that's a real person. Is that also a
- 14:17Speaker 4: fictional thing?
- 14:18Speaker 5: Like, no, it's not a humpy dumpy not real dude,
- 14:23Speaker 5: bro bro.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Bro, Yeah, literally, you have to watch some of the
- 14:28Speaker 3: videos we're watching. Julia fitz Morris. Hi, Okay, so here's
- 14:33Speaker 3: the deal. I have been working in many sort of like.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Can I just ask questions? Did you get hit by something?
- 14:46Speaker 1: I saw a car out there that was completely wrecked.
- 14:50Speaker 5: With no driver in it? Is Are you okay?
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:55Speaker 5: I mean I know I did.
- 14:58Speaker 3: That is what happened to me. I got into a
- 15:00Speaker 3: little fender bunder outside, but I'm good.
- 15:05Speaker 5: I can't believe somebody survived.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Insurance is going to sort all that out. My name
- 15:09Speaker 3: is Julia. If it's Morris, real person.
- 15:12Speaker 4: And I am.
- 15:14Speaker 3: You don't believe me, I believe you. You don't believe
- 15:17Speaker 3: that I'm real. Guys, my ears are.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Burning trail of blood from you all.
- 15:26Speaker 3: The way to the door when you walk know, I
- 15:29Speaker 3: know it's crazy. Insurance is going to sort all this out.
- 15:31Speaker 3: My ears are burning. My name is Julia, if it's Boris,
- 15:34Speaker 3: and I am working on the Tate McRae biopics. We
- 15:39Speaker 3: are getting in early, because that's the problem with these biopics.
- 15:43Speaker 3: If you wait too long, somebody gets too famous, they
- 15:47Speaker 3: get too many awards, too many things happen, and then
- 15:49Speaker 3: all of a sudden, you got a bunch of biopic
- 15:52Speaker 3: directors clawn at the door, clawn at their agent's e mail,
- 15:56Speaker 3: going hey, have you have you? Have you met this person?
- 15:58Speaker 3: Have you met this person? Have you met this person?
- 16:00Speaker 3: And they are trying to get their teeth on this concept.
- 16:04Speaker 3: But I am not gonna wait. Tate McCrae's success is
- 16:07Speaker 3: such an inevitability. It is so set in stone. I
- 16:12Speaker 3: asked a psychic, got it confirmed. This is going to
- 16:16Speaker 3: be massive, And so can who's playing Tate?
- 16:22Speaker 1: Such a good question. I cannot get to get into
- 16:24Speaker 1: that for all of us.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Yeah, well yeah, so right now I'm I am in
- 16:29Speaker 3: conversations with Addison Ray's sister, and those conversations are very
- 16:36Speaker 3: fruitful and are going to lead somewhere amazing. So we
- 16:41Speaker 3: are obviously in pre pro because we're waiting for events
- 16:45Speaker 3: of Tate's life to unfold so.
- 16:48Speaker 5: Happen.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Yeah, we're writing events of her life as they happen.
- 16:55Speaker 3: And it's interesting because it's like, you know so much
- 16:57Speaker 3: she's uh, i'd say stones throw from twenty five right now,
- 17:02Speaker 3: and so so much is happening to you at that age.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Your frontal cortex isn't even fully locked. There's so much
- 17:07Speaker 3: changing and evolving and and new experiences that happened to you.
- 17:12Speaker 3: That the movie is changing direction every single day, which
- 17:14Speaker 3: is so exciting.
- 17:15Speaker 6: So many people would say, what in that case, we
- 17:18Speaker 6: will opt to make a documentary instead because it's literally events,
- 17:22Speaker 6: But you made the bold choice of making a fictionalized
- 17:26Speaker 6: biopic film.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Well, I have made way too many fucking documentaries them
- 17:33Speaker 3: And thank you.
- 17:36Speaker 8: You did about the Chilean miners.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, from that, I mean it's like embarrassing.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Oh my god, J Simpson making America.
- 17:48Speaker 3: You made Simpsons made J Simpsons made soup.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I don't know how to say this politely, but it
- 17:55Speaker 1: feels like your hair is bleeding. I don't know if
- 17:57Speaker 1: that's not.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I mean, insurance will sort that out, will be good.
- 18:01Speaker 5: So crazy as there was Sony next to the car
- 18:04Speaker 5: and said whoever was in this cannot be alive now.
- 18:07Speaker 5: And they say he said, started looking at the sewers,
- 18:09Speaker 5: looking at the trees. This person crawled the diele or
- 18:12Speaker 5: the way to hide and die, flew the way to
- 18:14Speaker 5: hide and die like a cat.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Anyways, I'm doing awesome. Tate's super excited, excited. Addison Ray's
- 18:23Speaker 3: sister is soon to be very excited. Tatiana.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Tatiana, don't get me started on kids' names these days.
- 18:33Speaker 9: I won't let you know what you did.
- 18:35Speaker 6: You cast her because of her similarity to Tate mccray's name,
- 18:39Speaker 6: Tatiana Ray sounds like a slightly longer version.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Cray. It's the full name. Well, I'm in conversations with
- 18:49Speaker 3: Tate and we're we're sort of.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Yeah, we know that, Yeah, we know that.
- 18:53Speaker 1: You know, we're good.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I just love it.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Well, No, I'm doing amazing. Know, it's so exciting and
- 19:01Speaker 3: I'm so excited. And this is going to be the way.
- 19:06Speaker 9: The way you went from those documents.
- 19:08Speaker 6: You went from an acclaim documentary about the Prussian genocide
- 19:12Speaker 6: literally stinky. I mean you you got a defunct country
- 19:17Speaker 6: to confess to war crimes denied a hundred years ago,
- 19:21Speaker 6: to now this is McCray.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I know, I know, I'm just you know, it's like,
- 19:26Speaker 3: I don't want to get my brand so bogged down
- 19:29Speaker 3: in Oscar Award winning documentarianism.
- 19:32Speaker 7: You know, I have to change it up.
- 19:34Speaker 3: And so this fictional story of the real life story
- 19:38Speaker 3: of Tate McRae that as yet to be written is
- 19:41Speaker 3: the most exciting thing. It's going to be my boyhood.
- 19:44Speaker 8: Wouldn't want to bowl the wood on your mantle from
- 19:46Speaker 8: all those awards.
- 19:53Speaker 3: This is such a.
- 19:58Speaker 9: That's okay.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Hello, my name is Brighton Brooklyn Paper NEPO stopped it.
- 20:06Speaker 5: Brighton.
- 20:13Speaker 2: You never stopped in the middle of your name, Brighton Booker.
- 20:17Speaker 2: I'm so excited to be here, honored. I'm doing a
- 20:20Speaker 2: biopic about a sweet, sweet young girl named Miranda Nick.
- 20:29Speaker 7: Miranda Nick, you don't.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Know, passed out in a Sephora at the age of
- 20:37Speaker 2: twelve and is the reason we have mall cops and
- 20:43Speaker 2: mall security.
- 20:45Speaker 3: So your biopic is about the one who inspired the
- 20:51Speaker 3: need for mall cops.
- 20:53Speaker 5: So she passed out in a Sephora, kind of a
- 20:57Speaker 5: thankless hero who caused the war to say, hey, maybe
- 21:01Speaker 5: we need some help and mall.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Her story, her gripling relationship with drugs as she gets older.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It's well, she was arrested right when she passed out.
- 21:13Speaker 1: They arrested her because they thought something was up, and
- 21:15Speaker 1: they almost blamed her.
- 21:16Speaker 7: Yes, thank you, I didn't know you knew.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Rebecca a huge Miranda nick fan.
- 21:21Speaker 5: Why did you call me Rebecca?
- 21:31Speaker 7: Car outside? Rebecca? Where I'm from is a term of endement,
- 21:37Speaker 7: from where are you from? I'm from Valley.
- 21:43Speaker 8: Distinctly each other, Rebecca when they love each other.
- 21:48Speaker 5: You're such a uk a kingdom of valley going to
- 21:56Speaker 5: like a.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Grocery store, like, hello, Rebecca, how are you back up?
- 22:00Speaker 7: Yeah, it's like a sport.
- 22:03Speaker 8: It's kind of like that another hot one over here
- 22:05Speaker 8: in see Valley.
- 22:10Speaker 7: Anyway. Sorry, so many weird things at once.
- 22:15Speaker 8: Life though. I mean, that's what I figures we're catching.
- 22:17Speaker 5: I think you guys have probably all had to sit
- 22:20Speaker 5: down and streamline someone's life into the story you want
- 22:26Speaker 5: really hard sometimes, you know, life is so multi faceted.
- 22:29Speaker 5: Somebody can be so many, you know. For me, I'm
- 22:31Speaker 5: a I'm a father, I'm a I'm a son, I'm
- 22:34Speaker 5: an uncle. You know, I'm I'm a student, I'm a teacher,
- 22:37Speaker 5: I'm all sorts of things. I'm a bit.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Pumpty dumpty denier.
- 22:45Speaker 8: That was the song I really there too.
- 22:49Speaker 5: You guys are gonna look foolish because I'm gonna demand
- 22:51Speaker 5: that that gets taken out. At the top of the episode.
- 22:53Speaker 5: You guys gonna be bringing this up, and I'm gonna go,
- 22:55Speaker 5: what are you talking about? And why do you want
- 22:56Speaker 5: to take it up? Because it's true and you're denying
- 22:57Speaker 5: because I'm embarrassed because I'm not here to talk about that.
- 22:59Speaker 5: I'm here to talk abut my movie and I don't
- 23:00Speaker 5: want to talk about I found four people that believe
- 23:03Speaker 5: the craziest thing I've ever heard, which is the giant
- 23:05Speaker 5: egg that gets put together by by king or queen.
- 23:08Speaker 7: Makes you look ignorant, and.
- 23:11Speaker 5: It's like giant and egg. It makes you sound bad.
- 23:14Speaker 4: It is what it is.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a tone associated with what you're saying.
- 23:21Speaker 8: You just are just you're telling me that a giant
- 23:23Speaker 8: egg fell off.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Just don't say it, buddy, don't say it like that.
- 23:27Speaker 5: You guys are gonna look foolish because it's gonna be
- 23:29Speaker 5: out of the edits.
- 23:30Speaker 1: You guys are who's playing mother goose?
- 23:32Speaker 5: Dude?
- 23:35Speaker 8: Amy Adams.
- 23:35Speaker 7: That's amazing.
- 23:39Speaker 8: Great, she's awesome.
- 23:40Speaker 3: And are you doing it animated or live action?
- 23:42Speaker 8: No, it's live action in very very hyper realistic, but
- 23:46Speaker 8: not in the editing.
- 23:48Speaker 5: And so we're shooting these sets to make it look realistic,
- 23:51Speaker 5: and then we're doing a lot of jump cuts and
- 23:53Speaker 5: zooms and and and fast forward and rewinds and.
- 23:55Speaker 8: Stuff like that.
- 23:59Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like a fun it's like a silly, crazy thing.
- 24:01Speaker 4: You know.
- 24:01Speaker 5: There's this amazing scene when she runs into her best friend, yes,
- 24:09Speaker 5: Mary Muffett, and she's talking about her daughter got it
- 24:13Speaker 5: bit by a spider. And she goes home, and she
- 24:18Speaker 5: goes and you know, and and she starts thinking about
- 24:22Speaker 5: this sad thing.
- 24:23Speaker 8: She's dying.
- 24:23Speaker 5: She's dying from the spider. And she takes her pen out,
- 24:28Speaker 5: tears little miss Muffett eating your cards in a way. Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 5: along came Miss Muffett. Along comes spider, said beside her,
- 24:37Speaker 5: frighten Miss.
- 24:38Speaker 9: M Wait a minute, Wait a minute.
- 24:39Speaker 6: So you believe that a spider can come and sit
- 24:42Speaker 6: down next to somebody, but a wall scaling egg.
- 24:46Speaker 5: Is too far, Alicus, I really wish there's a fancy
- 24:53Speaker 5: wherever it wants it. So being on this panel with
- 25:02Speaker 5: all of you was literally something I wrote when I
- 25:04Speaker 5: was in college. This is the dream panel that I
- 25:06Speaker 5: would sit on. And I'm really upset right now that
- 25:08Speaker 5: all we're talking about is this preposterous claim that is
- 25:12Speaker 5: just it's just bothering me so much. So like I
- 25:15Speaker 5: look forward to stay my whole life, and you guys
- 25:17Speaker 5: are ruining it. So if we could just move on
- 25:18Speaker 5: from the humpty dumpty thing.
- 25:20Speaker 3: We're all specifically there when you were writing about.
- 25:23Speaker 7: This dream all of us was she also? And in
- 25:27Speaker 7: it was she in English?
- 25:29Speaker 1: You guys would know, No, don't ask too many questions,
- 25:32Speaker 1: you're going to get confused.
- 25:34Speaker 5: It dream people to talk with. If I could sit down,
- 25:37Speaker 5: I said, with four panelists. If I could sit down
- 25:40Speaker 5: with four people to talk to them about what it's
- 25:42Speaker 5: like to make movies, it was you guys I look
- 25:45Speaker 5: up to so much. I would appreciate it if you
- 25:48Speaker 5: gave me some respects. Oh, we're giving you all the respect.
- 25:51Speaker 5: We just don't.
- 25:51Speaker 1: We're not gonna agree with everything you say.
- 25:53Speaker 3: So anyways, what's just sort of the marketplace of ideas.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Well. He's a very little known figure that the lead
- 26:01Speaker 4: of it. So I figured we should cast a.
- 26:04Speaker 6: Fairly unknown actress and actor I'm sorry to play the part.
- 26:09Speaker 6: So we did manage to get Tom Hanks.
- 26:12Speaker 4: He'll be, you know, bodying this.
- 26:15Speaker 9: This man's a pretty big not where I'm from.
- 26:19Speaker 5: Where are you from?
- 26:22Speaker 4: Upper Rhode Island?
- 26:24Speaker 5: Say it like a mystery?
- 26:27Speaker 7: Well, you know is Upper Rhode Island?
- 26:31Speaker 3: Oh, because there is there a legend.
- 26:34Speaker 4: There's a lot of lore about Upper Road Island.
- 26:38Speaker 3: It must be regionally specific, because I don't think I don't.
- 26:42Speaker 9: Think it reached me the law of Upper Rhode Island.
- 26:45Speaker 3: No, I'm sorry. I I grew up in San Diego.
- 26:47Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm unfamiliar.
- 26:49Speaker 11: You've never heard of the Rhode Island express No, I've
- 26:53Speaker 11: never heard of a ghost Upper Rhode Island. When you
- 26:58Speaker 11: get off a little part of the highway, sometimes you
- 27:02Speaker 11: take a little left turn in the dead of night,
- 27:06Speaker 11: and the moment you go there, you'll be led to
- 27:08Speaker 11: another bad way, an expressway called the twenty five. It
- 27:15Speaker 11: travels for about fourteen miles.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Expressway expressways. Scary, it's just so faster, yes, but it's
- 27:24Speaker 1: part of the lore of Upper Road.
- 27:31Speaker 8: Mystery. Sound like directions.
- 27:35Speaker 12: A map, a map, A spooky map, a treasure map,
- 27:41Speaker 12: a treasure map well, also a regular map, but it's
- 27:44Speaker 12: also it can be viewed as as.
- 27:46Speaker 8: What's the treasure?
- 27:47Speaker 4: The ability to go faster on the road without a fee,
- 27:50Speaker 4: without any toll.
- 27:51Speaker 7: Way on this expressway. No one knows who does, no
- 27:57Speaker 7: exactly that I've ever.
- 28:00Speaker 3: So this is a town that is famous for some
- 28:02Speaker 3: for its expressway, but it has not heard of the
- 28:05Speaker 3: star of the polar express.
- 28:07Speaker 5: That's a very. They're not interesting, call it Hanks.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Girls are I'm fine? And it smells like damn burning
- 28:18Speaker 3: toast in here? Can someone turn that off?
- 28:21Speaker 4: Your eyes keep going in separate directions and then coming back.
- 28:24Speaker 3: It's just trying to see all of you, guys.
- 28:26Speaker 7: I'm fine.
- 28:28Speaker 3: The insurance will sort all of this out. So you
- 28:32Speaker 3: got Tom Hanks.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Hank.
- 28:34Speaker 9: Now it's a very.
- 28:34Speaker 6: It's a challenging role, you see, because like I said,
- 28:36Speaker 6: it's it's only about twenty five minutes of what happened
- 28:40Speaker 6: in real time, which is this man decided to form a.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Band for twenty four hours.
- 28:44Speaker 9: Over twenty four hours, so almost all of it is
- 28:46Speaker 9: in slow motion.
- 28:49Speaker 8: That's in extreme slow motion.
- 28:51Speaker 4: For hour exactly.
- 28:52Speaker 6: So we shot at three frames per second, so you
- 28:55Speaker 6: don't finish it that last minute.
- 28:58Speaker 9: Is it's of a legend, much like the road island
- 29:03Speaker 9: express you with it.
- 29:06Speaker 5: It's a lore.
- 29:07Speaker 9: It's it's mysterious.
- 29:09Speaker 7: I don't I think I've never heard of this in
- 29:11Speaker 7: pop culture.
- 29:13Speaker 8: Itulture. It's in the like map Google map.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not culture legend if you're looking.
- 29:20Speaker 9: Up it should be in pop culture.
- 29:22Speaker 4: I don't know why you're all.
- 29:26Speaker 5: Are there these kind of like mysteriousness, like mysterious things about.
- 29:30Speaker 6: It or about the legend if people die, if people
- 29:33Speaker 6: die on it, or hundreds and hundreds of people have
- 29:37Speaker 6: probably almost died.
- 29:39Speaker 4: You know what?
- 29:39Speaker 9: The rage of automotive accidents.
- 29:41Speaker 5: Is in the world, in the worlds of the world.
- 29:44Speaker 9: Statistically a motive accident capital not by any verifiable fact,
- 29:50Speaker 9: but it's possible.
- 29:51Speaker 1: You know, there is a verify for verifiable way to
- 29:53Speaker 1: look this up.
- 29:54Speaker 5: It's a highway, it's an expressway.
- 29:57Speaker 7: Sleeping alone. My god.
- 30:00Speaker 1: So Tom Hanks is the original story when he's creating
- 30:04Speaker 1: blank one A three, is it an older man because
- 30:05Speaker 1: Tom Hanks is getting up?
- 30:06Speaker 6: No, this was a fourteen year old high schooler who
- 30:10Speaker 6: decided I love It was in nineteen ninety nine.
- 30:14Speaker 9: Enema of the State had just been released.
- 30:17Speaker 4: This seminary.
- 30:19Speaker 9: Of the state Blink two albums and great album one.
- 30:24Speaker 7: It's the one with the nurse on it, right with
- 30:26Speaker 7: the what the hot nurse on.
- 30:28Speaker 8: The arom take Off your Pants and jacket?
- 30:30Speaker 1: No, no, no, that is the state nurse.
- 30:33Speaker 9: Take Off your Pants and Jacket is an album?
- 30:35Speaker 1: It is.
- 30:36Speaker 8: No, you haven't heard the other blank twenty two album.
- 30:38Speaker 4: I've not heard that.
- 30:39Speaker 3: No?
- 30:40Speaker 4: Do they not have that one over there?
- 30:43Speaker 5: No?
- 30:44Speaker 8: Noad.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Sorry, Upper Road, which is one of the smallest states.
- 30:50Speaker 5: It's clearly that there's an upper anyways.
- 30:52Speaker 3: What was it like to grow up there?
- 30:55Speaker 4: Oh?
- 30:55Speaker 9: God, long, long summers, old winter, long summer.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Sounds nice.
- 31:03Speaker 9: Yes, it was quite nice.
- 31:05Speaker 6: Actually, all the days were the same, you know those
- 31:07Speaker 6: kind of places. Sure, yeah, wake up Sunday, newsprint on
- 31:12Speaker 6: your fingers, Oh sure, yeah, long newsprint playing a fourteen
- 31:18Speaker 6: year old.
- 31:19Speaker 7: And yes, in slow motion for and the one shot
- 31:22Speaker 7: of it all.
- 31:23Speaker 9: Yes, it's all in one shot. It's shot at three
- 31:25Speaker 9: frames per second, so it's extreme slow motion. Yes, imagine
- 31:29Speaker 9: a second and now I'm there, I'm.
- 31:32Speaker 5: There, Yeah, I know what a second is. Miranda Nick,
- 31:35Speaker 5: who's playing Miranda.
- 31:38Speaker 7: Well, we haven't cast it yet.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Okay, So we're making a big kind of crazy boga
- 31:51Speaker 1: fide swing with Rob deer Deck. He's going to be
- 31:54Speaker 1: played by a man that's actually a lizard. We're gonna
- 31:58Speaker 1: make him a lizard, a little liard man. We were
- 32:01Speaker 1: so inspired by the Monkey Man movie that we decided,
- 32:10Speaker 1: you guys are caught up. You thought real lizard, I thought.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Conspiracy. We're talking about lizard like no, no.
- 32:21Speaker 1: So the first the first line is you see a
- 32:25Speaker 1: mom giving birth and voice over of the real Rob
- 32:28Speaker 1: deer Deck if he agrees, and it says, I've always
- 32:32Speaker 1: thought of myself as a little bit.
- 32:33Speaker 5: Of a weird little lizard. Out shoots from.
- 32:36Speaker 1: The vagina gecko.
- 32:43Speaker 8: The projectile shot front.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Is like projector shot a gecko from a human woman.
- 32:54Speaker 4: What the hell?
- 32:56Speaker 5: Yeah, that's me. Let's start from the beginning.
- 33:05Speaker 4: At seven second flash forward.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and then he goes, I've always thought a little
- 33:20Speaker 1: bit of a ridiculous well, it's filled with ridiculous.
- 33:24Speaker 11: Wow.
- 33:25Speaker 5: A question that I UH think about when it comes
- 33:27Speaker 5: of biopics too, is the real person, if they're living
- 33:32Speaker 5: or their estates can be very intense about the biopic
- 33:37Speaker 5: I want to make sure you're telling the story they
- 33:39Speaker 5: want to be told. So how has it been working
- 33:41Speaker 5: with your subjects? It sounds like most of them are
- 33:44Speaker 5: still alive.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I think we should talk about also the life rights,
- 33:48Speaker 2: like did you get because some people go through biopics
- 33:50Speaker 2: and they go for the book rights. People will write
- 33:53Speaker 2: the biography and then you get the rights, so that
- 33:55Speaker 2: sometimes cheaper and then sometimes yeah, like Miranda Nick.
- 34:00Speaker 7: Her family put us through the ring.
- 34:02Speaker 9: No way believe it or not.
- 34:04Speaker 5: Yeah, So it's like you have to she she's still alive.
- 34:08Speaker 2: She still live because then later in her life, which
- 34:10Speaker 2: I didn't get to but the film does, she brings
- 34:13Speaker 2: Macha to Los Angeles.
- 34:16Speaker 7: She brings a cup of.
- 34:17Speaker 3: She brings both mall cops into the existence of the
- 34:21Speaker 3: world as a concept, and then she invents.
- 34:25Speaker 7: She brings she.
- 34:27Speaker 9: Brings a cup of Macha Angeles.
- 34:31Speaker 7: I'm telling you this and that's not.
- 34:35Speaker 8: It's the first cup or it's a.
- 34:36Speaker 7: She brings Macha to Los Angeles.
- 34:42Speaker 5: And San Gabriel Valley stories they just keep going.
- 34:50Speaker 3: She picks up. She's thirsty on the way. That's why we.
- 34:54Speaker 7: Can't cast it right because it's like, how do I
- 34:56Speaker 7: do it, I have to say, I don't.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I just I'm struggling as a like you, she is not.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Are you encountering struggles with the fact that.
- 35:06Speaker 5: She's not Okay there piece of.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Wow, it's toasty in here.
- 35:22Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 35:23Speaker 7: To answer your question, you don't have to be famous
- 35:26Speaker 7: to have a biopic about you. And that's what really.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Grinds my giars about biopics is that why does it
- 35:32Speaker 2: have to be for the famous people?
- 35:34Speaker 1: Yeah, usually, like an interesting story helps, and.
- 35:37Speaker 2: That's why I think that that's the interesting story. There's
- 35:39Speaker 2: so many things where you're gonna go, oh my god.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Miranda Nicks is the no. Miranda Nix is the reason
- 35:46Speaker 2: we say the word awesome. She wrote that what she
- 35:49Speaker 2: wrote that, I think Shakespeare no he did not awesome,
- 35:55Speaker 2: is going to be pissed. But there's so many things
- 35:58Speaker 2: about her right way, I'll tell you, and you go,
- 35:59Speaker 2: oh god. I had no idea.
- 36:01Speaker 7: Who's the woman?
- 36:02Speaker 5: Did she write the word?
- 36:04Speaker 7: It's in the film.
- 36:05Speaker 9: It's in the film, but it sounds actually wrote it,
- 36:07Speaker 9: but not concocted.
- 36:09Speaker 5: She wrote.
- 36:11Speaker 7: She sings marcher, she passes. There's just so much there
- 36:15Speaker 7: in the way.
- 36:16Speaker 3: She's kind of like an every woman. She's doing stuff
- 36:19Speaker 3: that the normal people do.
- 36:21Speaker 7: But I'll tell you what I did to get her rights.
- 36:23Speaker 2: I sat her down and I did and I remember,
- 36:25Speaker 2: like when I told some of my friends that I
- 36:28Speaker 2: wanted to do the story of her life because I
- 36:29Speaker 2: read the biography. I was the airport in the airport
- 36:35Speaker 2: and I picked up a book and I'm just going
- 36:37Speaker 2: to read this on the plane.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Rebecca, I'd like to purchase this.
- 36:43Speaker 7: Read the book and went, oh my god, I have
- 36:45Speaker 7: to tell her story.
- 36:46Speaker 1: I have to.
- 36:47Speaker 2: People don't know who she is. But the rights took
- 36:50Speaker 2: a long time to get and I'm dealing with mainly
- 36:54Speaker 2: her daughter. Her daughter is the one that like, do
- 36:56Speaker 2: you guys have like siblings or family or the estate
- 36:59Speaker 2: of the people that you all represent.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Well, I'm talking to Tate's mom a lot too, because
- 37:04Speaker 3: we're both you know, it's easier to rather than just
- 37:08Speaker 3: I think we're all familiar with the state of the industry.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Shooting just a straight up movie is harder to do
- 37:14Speaker 3: if you don't have a pre written IP. It's much
- 37:17Speaker 3: easier to go book to film in terms of selling something.
- 37:21Speaker 3: So we're really trying to get Tate to write a
- 37:24Speaker 3: book we're really trying to get her to write them. Oh,
- 37:27Speaker 3: it's impossible. She is dancing all the time, she is
- 37:31Speaker 3: in rehearsals, she's on a world tour, and so me
- 37:35Speaker 3: and her mom, Denise are we kind of get together
- 37:38Speaker 3: on a text threat and we're like, Okay, maybe we
- 37:40Speaker 3: can get fifteen minutes from her on this book. We
- 37:42Speaker 3: just kind of like, catch her at breakfast on the
- 37:44Speaker 3: tour bus, slide a laptop in front of her face,
- 37:47Speaker 3: open up a final draft. She's writing her book in
- 37:50Speaker 3: script software, whatever way she can get to it.
- 37:58Speaker 8: The movie she's like nobody else.
- 38:00Speaker 3: That as of right now. That's one of the main
- 38:03Speaker 3: things in the movie.
- 38:04Speaker 4: Book.
- 38:04Speaker 5: In different format books, we're waiting.
- 38:07Speaker 3: For stuff to happen. We're buying I'm buying in early,
- 38:09Speaker 3: I'm buying in early, and.
- 38:10Speaker 6: It's so many you know, so many people would take
- 38:13Speaker 6: the easy route and get a ghost writer and have
- 38:15Speaker 6: someone else right and just slap her name on it.
- 38:17Speaker 6: But you're like, no, we need her at fingers on
- 38:20Speaker 6: the keyboard in final draft.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the documentarian in me. I guess I really
- 38:27Speaker 3: came from her.
- 38:28Speaker 5: Do you ever just put some words down on the
- 38:30Speaker 5: ground and see what she dances, and.
- 38:33Speaker 3: See what she dances, like the way that you ask
- 38:35Speaker 3: dogs to predict oscar winners, and what you can put
- 38:39Speaker 3: treats in front of the words.
- 38:40Speaker 1: See what she dances.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good thing for me to try. I
- 38:44Speaker 3: just spit ball, and I think that's a good idea
- 38:46Speaker 3: because if she could dance to a sentence, Oh, that'd
- 38:51Speaker 3: be that'd be twice as long as the movie currently is.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Or you doing like a little kid when they play
- 38:58Speaker 2: when some of those old moles used to a big piano,
- 39:03Speaker 2: you just dance around it and just kind of.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, if there's I believe that there am.
- 39:10Speaker 3: I te scientists working on converting words.
- 39:15Speaker 5: What happened?
- 39:16Speaker 9: You have three less teeth than you had a minute ago?
- 39:19Speaker 5: Do you swallow three teeth?
- 39:22Speaker 7: Nose bleed? You have a nose bleed.
- 39:24Speaker 3: But there's so many teeth in this room. Why they
- 39:28Speaker 3: put so many? There's way more teeth than normal in
- 39:35Speaker 3: this interview.
- 39:35Speaker 7: Do you have a you have a loved one? We
- 39:38Speaker 7: can call God?
- 39:39Speaker 3: No, I mean they're all busy, don't even work. Don't
- 39:42Speaker 3: bother them, guys. Insurance is going to sort all this out.
- 39:45Speaker 4: You're dying?
- 39:48Speaker 1: No, it's always so interesting.
- 39:54Speaker 8: Yeah, what about Robbies to work with?
- 39:57Speaker 1: I mean he is a blast. This guy has so
- 39:59Speaker 1: many thoughts. He's kind of like a big picture like
- 40:02Speaker 1: what if we put me on a blimp? What if
- 40:04Speaker 1: we put the movie on a blimp? What if we
- 40:05Speaker 1: shot in a blimp? What if we did a flip over?
- 40:08Speaker 3: I mean, blimp stuff is amazing.
- 40:10Speaker 5: He is like fascinated with blimps. Right.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Do you think it's perhaps because he saw a blimp
- 40:17Speaker 3: two days ago the promotional Timothy Shallon.
- 40:20Speaker 5: Movie that was it, And he's just like locked into
- 40:23Speaker 5: something about a blimp. He's super pumped about.
- 40:25Speaker 8: Bloom challenging because does he have a blamp or has
- 40:28Speaker 8: he been on a blamp?
- 40:28Speaker 5: He's never been on a book before and it's now
- 40:30Speaker 5: a new dream. Yeah, you're doing his biopick, so you
- 40:33Speaker 5: do you have to say, like, hey, I am doing
- 40:36Speaker 5: this movie by things you've done.
- 40:37Speaker 8: We can't just add you in a blimp.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I want trying And he's going, but what what if
- 40:41Speaker 1: we shot a TV show in a blimp? And I'm like,
- 40:44Speaker 1: so I'm shooting a biopic about you. Yeah, you're a
- 40:46Speaker 1: little lizard man playing in this And he goes, I
- 40:48Speaker 1: always thought of myself as a little lizard man. I'm like, yeah,
- 40:50Speaker 1: we got that part man.
- 40:52Speaker 6: So besides the opening, which is the full frontal ecu
- 40:55Speaker 6: of a vagina, the rest of the movie is on
- 40:57Speaker 6: a blimp.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Well, he's really pushing for that. It's like kind of like,
- 41:01Speaker 1: uh uh, let's start from the beginning hard cut too.
- 41:04Speaker 1: He's on a blimp and I go, buddy, that's the end.
- 41:06Speaker 7: Yeah, you see, it's like a hot air balloon they
- 41:10Speaker 7: go at the end of movies.
- 41:11Speaker 9: Literally, yeah, exactly.
- 41:13Speaker 1: So yeah, so we've got his childhood figure out. It's
- 41:15Speaker 1: like this great three minute montage of him like being
- 41:19Speaker 1: fun at school, teachers loving him, him finding a skateboard,
- 41:22Speaker 1: going huh, I couldn't work with this. He has a bully,
- 41:26Speaker 1: but the bully ends up really liking him. It's kind
- 41:28Speaker 1: of like a one line.
- 41:30Speaker 5: He's pulling people over. It's really fun.
- 41:33Speaker 3: It's really got a one line for the bully, one
- 41:35Speaker 3: line for the bully.
- 41:37Speaker 7: Who's the bully being played by?
- 41:38Speaker 1: Oh that's we got Gayden matt Rasso to play the bully.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's interesting you bring up the childhood. I'm so
- 41:49Speaker 3: curious about the childhood of blink one. Did we touch
- 41:54Speaker 3: on that?
- 41:55Speaker 1: Is it flashbacks?
- 41:55Speaker 4: Ever?
- 41:56Speaker 9: It's no, it's exclusively one long cock so it's exactly
- 42:00Speaker 9: it's a it's a single right, So we can't really
- 42:04Speaker 9: get into that.
- 42:04Speaker 3: That's the thing I keep forgetting.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Something I haven't been able to let go of, just
- 42:08Speaker 1: really quick. Usually when you shoot slow mo, you shoot
- 42:11Speaker 1: more frames.
- 42:12Speaker 4: More practice. You can realize that.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Basically a twenty four hour slide, it's a show.
- 42:18Speaker 4: Way three times, so it's going to be slow. But
- 42:20Speaker 4: those frames are disconnected from each other far apart.
- 42:24Speaker 8: It's kind of like an aurror frame. It's like one
- 42:26Speaker 8: of those digital picture for.
- 42:27Speaker 3: You like memory.
- 42:30Speaker 13: Yes, the sound amazing incredible. There's no one in there
- 42:37Speaker 13: that I wouldn't watch. You're all amazing one in there,
- 42:40Speaker 13: all our musk musk.
- 42:42Speaker 3: I am sat in the damn crazy. Do you see
- 42:46Speaker 3: Mother Goose as a kid.
- 42:48Speaker 5: We do see Mother Goose as a kid. It's very,
- 42:50Speaker 5: very fun. She's played by Anna Sophia Rob.
- 42:54Speaker 9: You see her hatching from an egg?
- 42:56Speaker 4: No, she's you don't believe in eggs, of course?
- 42:58Speaker 5: No chickens come from I never, Hey, big boy.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Egg.
- 43:12Speaker 7: It's made over here in semi Valley heard of an egg.
- 43:16Speaker 9: Rebecca Eat the Chicken, Wake Up.
- 43:20Speaker 8: I am so hurt by this. I'm so hurt by this.
- 43:26Speaker 5: But what I want to say just to talk about
- 43:29Speaker 5: my Mother Goose movie really quickly. I wanted to get
- 43:32Speaker 5: the rights from the estate. I was denied for years
- 43:36Speaker 5: and years and years because they said they were waiting
- 43:38Speaker 5: for Greta Gerwig. Very very very sad day for them.
- 43:43Speaker 5: They called me crying and said, she doesn't want it.
- 43:45Speaker 5: Do whatever you want. And so it's hard over them
- 43:47Speaker 5: because they've been beside themselves. I didn't even know there
- 43:50Speaker 5: could be in a state left.
- 43:51Speaker 8: Yeah, the very goose to state. Dan Goose is is
- 43:54Speaker 8: the Dan Goose.
- 43:55Speaker 4: I've met him.
- 43:56Speaker 5: He's a monster, a money monster. I mean he's he's
- 43:59Speaker 5: honestly just banking off. He wears that big old witch hat.
- 44:03Speaker 5: He lives in a big shoe to prove that he's
- 44:05Speaker 5: a Goose, and he raises all his kids there. It's
- 44:08Speaker 5: like very pathetic in many, many, many ways.
- 44:10Speaker 7: I'm so sick of the one percent.
- 44:13Speaker 5: It's crazy. He's so rich, so costplaying poor. You know,
- 44:17Speaker 5: it's really really really crazy, and it makes me so sad.
- 44:21Speaker 7: To try to get plumbing into a shoe must have
- 44:24Speaker 7: took so much ry.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I agree, Yeah, I'm right.
- 44:26Speaker 5: Well, what's funny is like he's like, oh, we built
- 44:28Speaker 5: in the shoe room, and it's like, no, you built
- 44:30Speaker 5: a bathroom, my guy, you didn't build a bathroom into
- 44:32Speaker 5: the shoe. There wasn't a to let in the shoe.
- 44:33Speaker 5: There's an extra room, and he doesn't. I mean these
- 44:37Speaker 5: shoes things where I'm like, and then I'm like, I'm
- 44:38Speaker 5: too close? Why am I arguing about whether or not
- 44:40Speaker 5: this is a shoe in a bathroom or shoe built outroom.
- 44:43Speaker 7: What's that moment when you go I'm too close?
- 44:45Speaker 5: Wall close?
- 44:48Speaker 9: The hazard of a biopic.
- 44:50Speaker 4: Always get a little too close to all in love.
- 44:53Speaker 5: With the person you're supposed to be making the biop?
- 44:56Speaker 7: Have you ever dreamt as them? Sometimes I'll wake up
- 44:59Speaker 7: and I'll be like, that.
- 45:00Speaker 5: Wasn't one of my dreams.
- 45:01Speaker 1: That was Rebecca's.
- 45:01Speaker 7: Yes, and you're too close.
- 45:03Speaker 6: I formed Blink qanity four. I got so inspired, I
- 45:07Speaker 6: started getting so close. I thought so close I should
- 45:10Speaker 6: create my own modern pop punk, new metal hybrid band.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Now, who assumes you at that point? Is that now
- 45:16Speaker 3: Blink one eighty three is closer to the authorship or
- 45:19Speaker 3: Blink one eighty two.
- 45:20Speaker 9: I'm being sued by the subjects of the biopic as
- 45:23Speaker 9: well as Blink Uantity two.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Well they banded together.
- 45:26Speaker 9: Yes, I've lawsuits against me while I'm trying to celebrate
- 45:29Speaker 9: this man and his band.
- 45:31Speaker 4: You know, it's it's a it's criminal.
- 45:33Speaker 5: I just I.
- 45:34Speaker 9: For a long time, I considered giving up the business.
- 45:37Speaker 8: I think we have a song. Didn't you write one
- 45:40Speaker 8: called like?
- 45:41Speaker 5: Now?
- 45:42Speaker 8: Exactly how old am I this time?
- 45:44Speaker 5: Exactly? I did write Let's play it? I'd love to hear.
- 45:48Speaker 9: Yeah, now, exactly how old am I this time?
- 45:55Speaker 4: Last time? I was younger.
- 45:57Speaker 9: This time I'm not to get my age.
- 46:00Speaker 4: I don't know it. Please tell me my age.
- 46:05Speaker 9: On the Rhode Island.
- 46:07Speaker 10: Express Way, there was a mysterious thing happening. There was
- 46:12Speaker 10: a road going somewhere. You never expected road to go
- 46:18Speaker 10: road Island.
- 46:20Speaker 5: What's my age? Wait, Rhode Island.
- 46:26Speaker 8: So I think he's just stuck on that road.
- 46:29Speaker 5: Rhode Island has.
- 46:30Speaker 4: A road.
- 46:32Speaker 5: Island a d interesting in there which is no one
- 46:40Speaker 5: knows where the road goes. Now that's interesting. Where does
- 46:42Speaker 5: the road go?
- 46:43Speaker 4: Oh?
- 46:43Speaker 6: Yes, yes, well that was a little bit of what
- 46:46Speaker 6: I would call artistic license because the road definitely goes
- 46:50Speaker 6: to Providence.
- 46:52Speaker 5: But didn't done.
- 46:57Speaker 3: God, we looked so hot, Jeremy.
- 47:00Speaker 7: Do you think there's a.
- 47:01Speaker 5: Reason why I can't figure it out? Maybe I have
- 47:03Speaker 5: one idea though. It's merch.
- 47:07Speaker 7: Get our exclusive waa wait, winter Beanie.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Get our exclusive sweatshirt. Yeah, we also have hats and tots,
- 47:16Speaker 1: so much fun stuff.
- 47:17Speaker 7: We saw merch. It's real, all of it.
- 47:20Speaker 9: Go buy it.
- 47:20Speaker 7: We'll put the link in the bible right now.
- 47:25Speaker 3: Oh, just sort of the feeling of we don't.
- 47:29Speaker 1: You just get that drum sample?
- 47:32Speaker 4: O god, it is incredible.
- 47:35Speaker 9: Good, thank you, thank you. It's a sample from the
- 47:39Speaker 9: song all the Small Things.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Oh wow, yes, I.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Think I hear it.
- 47:45Speaker 4: Now.
- 47:46Speaker 7: Do you feel like you get too close to Tait?
- 47:48Speaker 3: I am too close to Tate. I am Tate pilled,
- 47:52Speaker 3: I am absolute, I am tated out the wazoo. I
- 47:58Speaker 3: am in every single concert, bopping along. I know every word.
- 48:04Speaker 7: Well, sounds like a fan.
- 48:06Speaker 3: I'm feeling like her biggest fan.
- 48:08Speaker 6: I means her in the vein of Tate mccrana yourself,
- 48:12Speaker 6: because you're so inspired.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean to be honest, I have to see
- 48:16Speaker 3: where her head's at. And because she's so young, I
- 48:19Speaker 3: kind of have to predict where she will go because
- 48:23Speaker 3: right now she's in her you know, dancing sort of
- 48:28Speaker 3: like sexy like shaking sort of like a dancing kind
- 48:34Speaker 3: of vibe. And eventually can she is going to get
- 48:40Speaker 3: to another place in her career? How will she evolve?
- 48:43Speaker 3: Miley Cyrus started quite young.
- 48:45Speaker 7: That's another woman, Yes, another woman.
- 48:50Speaker 3: I can name all kinds of women. Rosa Parks, Michelle Obama.
- 48:58Speaker 3: There is Swiers spoo.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Really interesting biopic subjects.
- 49:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean there. I've been in those biopic
- 49:07Speaker 3: auctions to get the rights to people like that, where
- 49:15Speaker 3: you bid on the rights to be the direct person
- 49:19Speaker 3: are so crazy.
- 49:21Speaker 7: The d GA. If you haven't heard of these things,
- 49:22Speaker 7: we have to go to the d g A. I mean,
- 49:24Speaker 7: you guys, what do you think I'm doing.
- 49:27Speaker 5: I'm stuck with Rebecca auctions.
- 49:30Speaker 3: Because you got out bid for Laura Dern and with
- 49:33Speaker 3: so much money on Laura Dorn because I wanted to
- 49:35Speaker 3: do let's done this.
- 49:37Speaker 5: And these auctions are so wild because the subject walks
- 49:43Speaker 5: out like it's like a weird high school fundraiser date charity.
- 49:47Speaker 1: It's so sad when they don't even get their first
- 49:50Speaker 1: off and they're starting two hundred thousand.
- 49:56Speaker 5: Auction.
- 49:57Speaker 3: It was rough for just taboo walked up out there
- 50:00Speaker 3: without the black guy who is I would have done it.
- 50:05Speaker 8: I got a black eye at the Luigian oh over
- 50:09Speaker 8: that one.
- 50:09Speaker 5: That was crazy.
- 50:10Speaker 2: And then yeah, I'm trying to think who else? I
- 50:13Speaker 2: think I saw all of you there, one of them? Yeah,
- 50:17Speaker 2: but god, I spent so much money bidding for Laura
- 50:20Speaker 2: Durned because I wanted Laura to play Laura.
- 50:22Speaker 5: That's the thing about these auctions. You submit the money,
- 50:24Speaker 5: they take the money, so it's not like a bid.
- 50:27Speaker 5: They take every bid.
- 50:30Speaker 7: Use a different word than.
- 50:33Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a store.
- 50:35Speaker 7: But you can't walk away with it if it's not
- 50:36Speaker 7: the highest bid. It's ridiculous.
- 50:38Speaker 5: It's ridiculous ridiculousness.
- 50:40Speaker 7: Now did you how much did you pay for rold Decks?
- 50:43Speaker 5: Three hundred dollars? Wow?
- 50:45Speaker 12: Wow?
- 50:46Speaker 1: So Rob deer Deck is being played by a little lizard.
- 50:51Speaker 1: It's not the great Mocab actor. His name is Jonathan
- 50:56Speaker 1: first name, Okay, it's a stage name. He's trying.
- 51:00Speaker 6: He's like, he's like kind of done with stage.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Like this is sort of a reverse stage name. It
- 51:08Speaker 3: sounds similar to a John Doe or a Jane Doe.
- 51:13Speaker 1: He's like he's got a TikTok following he's very big.
- 51:16Speaker 5: What's he's big?
- 51:17Speaker 4: What does he do?
- 51:18Speaker 1: He goes like, I'm Jonathan first name only then he
- 51:21Speaker 1: kind of does these poses. He's from Sri Lanka. I
- 51:24Speaker 1: think really family, his family is great. What's up?
- 51:29Speaker 4: What do you?
- 51:29Speaker 1: What are you thinking over there?
- 51:30Speaker 4: Eggman? Is he going to be at the auction?
- 51:34Speaker 5: No, you don't.
- 51:36Speaker 1: You cannot steal Jonathan first name story because he's my
- 51:39Speaker 1: actor right now.
- 51:40Speaker 8: Sounds like an interesting story.
- 51:41Speaker 5: I'll take him.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got a great interesting story. His family moved
- 51:44Speaker 1: from Sri Lanka to America. He changed his name from
- 51:47Speaker 1: something else to Jonathan first name. He won't tell me
- 51:50Speaker 1: his real name. He got first, got into the mob.
- 51:53Speaker 1: He had a fight, He had to fight his way
- 51:55Speaker 1: to the middle of the mob, got excommunicated from the mob.
- 51:58Speaker 1: They were going to kill him, but one guy left
- 52:00Speaker 1: let him go because he believed in him so much.
- 52:02Speaker 1: He said, look, you were never here, change your name,
- 52:05Speaker 1: get out of this city. He moved to Hollywood, changed
- 52:07Speaker 1: his name to a real name, Jonathan first name, which
- 52:10Speaker 1: she goes by and now he's in my movie. Yeah,
- 52:13Speaker 1: it's a pretty interesting story. But what it's more interesting?
- 52:16Speaker 1: How about Rob Deer deck in a blimp.
- 52:19Speaker 5: Shooting a TV show.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Called Gorgeous Limpin Limpin'. Yeah, so what happens. It's kind
- 52:28Speaker 1: of like a game show. It's like a really fun
- 52:30Speaker 1: like who who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
- 52:32Speaker 5: Or like Jeopardy.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Let you get the wrong question wrong, You're flung out
- 52:35Speaker 1: of your chair out of the blimp and you have
- 52:37Speaker 1: to pull your parachute.
- 52:38Speaker 5: Whoa, whoa, you're playing blimpin playing Gorgeous. Yeah, so he's great.
- 52:46Speaker 8: Remember Robin Big Yeah, I had his shoes.
- 52:48Speaker 1: We haven't figured out how to put that in the
- 52:50Speaker 1: show in the movie, but we're going to kind of
- 52:53Speaker 1: beginning of.
- 52:54Speaker 14: Everything you pressia this year, Yeah, before the Oscars, the
- 53:02Speaker 14: Oscar buzz. I think that's why we all picked right now.
- 53:05Speaker 3: And it's these buzz it's the buzz about these current
- 53:09Speaker 3: biopics that always seeds the interest for how the next
- 53:12Speaker 3: batch of biopics.
- 53:14Speaker 5: Everybody says it's always Oscar baity too.
- 53:16Speaker 1: You know, people love saying biop tragic story exception.
- 53:21Speaker 3: You can make a bad one.
- 53:24Speaker 2: I think it's what what lends itself to them is
- 53:26Speaker 2: a toll divorce performance. And that's why I think they're
- 53:30Speaker 2: so easy for oscar bait. Right, That's why, even especially
- 53:34Speaker 2: with like little kids, you give breakout roles, so many
- 53:37Speaker 2: young breakout talent comes from biopics.
- 53:40Speaker 7: Absolutely such a highlight of them.
- 53:43Speaker 5: Right.
- 53:43Speaker 6: It's also such a the oscar bait because when an
- 53:46Speaker 6: actor tries too hard.
- 53:48Speaker 15: To actually do an impression of the person, Right, I
- 53:51Speaker 15: instruct all my actors and all my sound nothing like
- 53:55Speaker 15: the subject.
- 53:56Speaker 9: You absolutely the opposite of what it is.
- 53:58Speaker 5: You know, you've got a clip of Tom Hanks in
- 54:00Speaker 5: slow mode doing a different choice.
- 54:02Speaker 9: You call him Tom Hank.
- 54:04Speaker 1: We're friends, okay, Rebecca, every little bit, just Rebecca's.
- 54:16Speaker 8: Use this last name. You just have to use all.
- 54:19Speaker 7: But wait, you have the clip? Is that what you said?
- 54:21Speaker 5: We have the clip of him, a little clip from
- 54:22Speaker 5: your biopic?
- 54:23Speaker 1: Rightes, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'd love to do you want
- 54:26Speaker 1: to explain what see we're about to?
- 54:28Speaker 4: Sure?
- 54:28Speaker 9: So, like I said, this is all in extreme slow
- 54:32Speaker 9: motion where he realizes it's not a viable idea to
- 54:37Speaker 9: form this band since one already exists.
- 54:39Speaker 3: So right at the end, extreme slow motion.
- 54:43Speaker 1: I can't wait to watch and play.
- 55:00Speaker 4: Push.
- 55:05Speaker 5: You would not believe your eyes?
- 55:08Speaker 7: Ten million fireflies, the fallous.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Okay, wow, that was an amazing great right, gorgeous and
- 55:22Speaker 1: the music is regular pace. Yes, the soundtrack by Our
- 55:26Speaker 1: City is all.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Let's talk, the sound of our people, the sound of
- 55:32Speaker 2: the biopep Our City a great band.
- 55:36Speaker 6: Right, beautiful and in direct contrast to what's happening in
- 55:39Speaker 6: the actual scenes. Yes, because because of course the thing
- 55:44Speaker 6: is about someone's dreams not coming true.
- 55:47Speaker 4: But the song is inspiring.
- 55:49Speaker 5: It's about not believe in your eyes.
- 55:51Speaker 9: It's gorgeous contrast.
- 55:52Speaker 7: Believe in your eyes.
- 56:02Speaker 3: No, you don't want to believe in your eyes, because
- 56:05Speaker 3: if I believed my eyes, I'd assume that there were
- 56:08Speaker 3: five talk and strawberries right in front.
- 56:10Speaker 12: Of me.
- 56:13Speaker 4: Tapes.
- 56:14Speaker 5: Believe it.
- 56:15Speaker 3: This room is full of teeth, There is blood everywhere.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Five strawberries are trying to get me to come to
- 56:22Speaker 3: tea and I'm not going to. I'm not going to.
- 56:27Speaker 3: So you can't believe everything your eyes are saying.
- 56:30Speaker 5: It's true.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Over there trying to get me to have a merry Christmas.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Who does this guy think he fucking is God, it
- 56:41Speaker 3: smells like burning goddamn toast. We can't be talking about
- 56:48Speaker 3: our eyes.
- 56:56Speaker 5: I just want to to Alicia bath More Pink for
- 56:59Speaker 5: doing the music for them, and I'll do my.
- 57:03Speaker 7: Shout out a Bony Bear. I'm obsessed with you. Every
- 57:06Speaker 7: day we work together was just life changing.
- 57:08Speaker 5: And I'll big my big shout out.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Patrick Stump from Fallout Boy has gone in a different
- 57:13Speaker 1: direction and will not be doing.
- 57:18Speaker 5: A shout out.
- 57:24Speaker 3: I'm gonna give a shout out to the three uh,
- 57:27Speaker 3: the three singers who I have contracted to do the music.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Should Tait his career follow the path of any of
- 57:35Speaker 3: these women. So we've got Reba McIntyre as a possibility,
- 57:40Speaker 3: Britney Spears is a possibility, and then we also have
- 57:44Speaker 3: col as a possibility.
- 57:46Speaker 1: So no Tate mcray music and your McGray.
- 57:48Speaker 3: Oh well, she's gonna do a little bit.
- 57:50Speaker 5: Yeah, it'll seem like a big fan.
- 57:57Speaker 3: I love her and I love what I've committed to
- 57:59Speaker 3: and I'm can't get out of it. I've signed a
- 58:01Speaker 3: bajillion year contract.
- 58:03Speaker 5: Can I ask you as a question that's been bugging me?
- 58:06Speaker 5: This question would bugging me forever.
- 58:08Speaker 1: What is it if eggs are real.
- 58:09Speaker 3: No, what is it If I crack a scrambled egg
- 58:12Speaker 3: in the pan? Are you gonna call me a liar?
- 58:14Speaker 9: You did?
- 58:16Speaker 5: I think you guys have even lost the thread of
- 58:18Speaker 5: the of the argument.
- 58:20Speaker 9: Your argument is that eggs have never existed?
- 58:25Speaker 5: Isn't even a debate?
- 58:26Speaker 4: You can't believe.
- 58:27Speaker 8: I have to say this so plainly.
- 58:28Speaker 5: I believe that Humpty Dumpty did not exist as in
- 58:32Speaker 5: a corporal form, and he's a story because I've read
- 58:35Speaker 5: the Mother Goose transcripts.
- 58:36Speaker 8: I've read what she wrote.
- 58:38Speaker 3: I mean, not everything. I don't exist in a corporal form.
- 58:41Speaker 3: I'm dead. What Yeah, I died in a car crash.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Oh my god. She's just doing the question that I
- 59:00Speaker 5: have had. I've just really wanted to know what you
- 59:02Speaker 5: guys think. How do you pronounce it? Is it biopick
- 59:06Speaker 5: or biopic?
- 59:08Speaker 7: It depends on the movie for me.
- 59:12Speaker 8: And what's the difference?
- 59:13Speaker 2: It depends right, if you're telling the story of how
- 59:17Speaker 2: a brave, drug obsessed girl brought Macha to Los Angeles
- 59:23Speaker 2: obsess I've.
- 59:25Speaker 3: Never heard that those words in success. Brave.
- 59:30Speaker 8: She has like a pro addiction scene. Drug obsessed, rug obsessed.
- 59:38Speaker 7: Boldly was opened about loving drugs. I'd tell you call
- 59:43Speaker 7: it a biopic because that's her bio.
- 59:46Speaker 2: A biopic to me sometimes goes out further than the
- 59:50Speaker 2: person's work, and it goes further than their life in
- 59:53Speaker 2: my head.
- 59:55Speaker 5: So not an example, got it? Well?
- 59:58Speaker 1: Yeah, go ahead, no no, no, Bob is making us
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: called a biopicky dicky because he kind of loves to
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: do that with words. So it's like a biopic that
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: you kind of freaking make silly, make rad make wild
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: a biopicky dicky. He just wants it to never stop
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: and never say anything bad and just be positive and
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: love and fun and work hard. He wants this biopic
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: to work hard, be good.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: Guy.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: It's it's exhausting but fun. You can never figure out.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: He's always like, let's meet meet me here, always in
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: a new place, and it's always somewhere fun.
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: What size is the font of these emails?
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Huge?
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: You know how Google Gmail has large? He even raises
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: it from that his meat here type into Google this
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: is what is this? An old electric factory? He's like, Okay,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: today we're gonna be working on the biopic, but maybe
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: we'll also be figuring out if we can bring electricity back. Yeah,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: he's kind of crazy like that.
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: Do you call it.
- 1:01:04Speaker 16: Or no, it's I've always said b I op pick
- 1:01:08Speaker 16: b I because you've never said that this whole always
- 1:01:17Speaker 16: every time I say it, I said quickly or you heard.
- 1:01:21Speaker 7: Me, But you must have been just like thinking about
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: eggs being not really.
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: Just has no teeth, Like it's just so weird that
- 1:01:28Speaker 8: you guys are pushing.
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: She has no teeth.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: She has this room is full of damn teeth.
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: God.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Production has to do something about this anyway, So many
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: go ahead.
- 1:01:43Speaker 6: You know, it's see to me, it's always it is
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: a biographical information overload if you want to cram the
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: most amount of information into a long film about the subject.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Which is so interesting because I would say your film
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: crams no information a very long time.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: Would you say that.
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: It's quite critical and judgmental, but I would say that
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: a lot of information is being conveyed subconsciously to the
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: cinematic medium more than anything.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Well, I loved your last film.
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: I think it was so special. Thank you Films.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: I appreciate that. Oh that was good.
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: Yes, that was a thirty six hour multi part documentary
- 1:02:26Speaker 9: about the first customer of Cuckoo.
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: It's a beautiful story.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: A story.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: You're like, you know what, I'll give it a try.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: I watched that one I do you think some there
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: was a kernel in me that was like, I want
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: to start making movies and biopics about people that don't
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: really matter, and that might be why I bid from Miranda,
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Like and in the grand scheme of things, You're like,
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: oh no, this person does matter, right, Like, yeah, it's
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: it inspired my work.
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: I always say history is written in the shadows.
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: So what are you working on next?
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: Everyone?
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: I want to know what everyone's working on. Yes, yes, yes, please,
- 1:03:11Speaker 9: Well we're in early talks right now. Of course it's
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: another biopic because that.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: Is my passion.
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: Started saying like that. Now I've been saying that I
- 1:03:22Speaker 8: feel I truly feel like I'm being pranks. Go ahead,
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: I'm so excited about this.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: Well, this time I want to go in another direction.
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: You know, I've I've done the musical, bio biopic, I've
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: done the other ones. Now I want to I want
- 1:03:35Speaker 6: to explore what it's like to do a subject that
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: is dark, that is very, very dark, and what is
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: that it is about the founding.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: Of the Rhode Island Expressway. What's dark?
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: About it, the founding of it.
- 1:03:54Speaker 9: It's just there's you know, city commissions getting together and
- 1:03:59Speaker 9: the eight having to go through a lot of bureaucratic
- 1:04:02Speaker 9: red tape.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: This seems like a city planning.
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: It sounds like you just drove on a highway at
- 1:04:08Speaker 8: night once to freak you up.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: We get a little high, a little confused.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: A little.
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: Anyone would be freaked out by the haunted spectrum of
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: this asphalt road peeling beneath you mile after mile, the
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: silence of Rhode Islands kd f M playing on your radio.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: M it's a very common station.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Well that'll be so much better, that'll be so much
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: amazing story.
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: In done right. Yeah, I can't wait. I got Jillian
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: Jacobs to do it.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: Julian Jacobs. That's a great community.
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: Yes, very talent.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: So sarcastic her, Oh.
- 1:05:06Speaker 7: Yeah, she's doing a sarcastic basis. She's doing such a
- 1:05:10Speaker 7: sarcastic Betsy, what's next for you?
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Oh? Well, I this group of French orphans who is
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: blowing up my email asking me to do a documentary
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: about how they escaped a well, and I eventually, if
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: this tape thing doesn't shape up in the next like
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: ten years or so if we haven't founded a clear
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: take on it. Yeah, well she just has to have
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: her life experiences and it's so valid. I will be
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: responding to that email, and I will be making a
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: documentary that no doubt earned some awards. But for now,
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: I am just trying to figure out why all these
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: dancing oranges are trying to offer me money. I mean,
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: production has to get a grip on this is insane.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: I thought this was a union shoot.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Well, it's definitely nothing about this is union.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: I'm very excited.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Once we wrap the Ridiculouslessness story, we are going right
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: into It's Bananas, the Johnny Banana story, Johnny Bananas being
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: the star of Real World, the challenge. He has got
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: a life that is bound to be explored.
- 1:06:27Speaker 7: I also on Deadline, you got Ryan Shecklers.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: I got Ryan Shecklers, like Frights, Travis and Travis Preshona's
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: I'm cleaning up right now?
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: Is that kind of a group on situation?
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: You got one to get them all, you got one
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: to get them all.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: And I'm so excited to tell their stories of how
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: hardship is basically not landing a trick. That's what real
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: hardship is. You can't do it pop Shove at three
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: sixty when you're six, but you work through it. And
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: these are films that are working hard. These are films
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: that are raised right. These are films at ARCNNA party
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: and play hard, work hard, play hard, no want to
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: take a break.
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: And these are films that are going to push the
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: limit of what you think is possible.
- 1:07:09Speaker 9: Is really rubbed off on you.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Great, He's rubbed off of me in so many ways.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: He wakes me up in the morning, we go on
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: a jog at five am. He gets to work. He's
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: sending emails. He's sending emails. The guy is never receiving,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: only sending such big ideas. I'm so excited to see
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: what happens now. So I love you, Rob reach out
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: to me. You know my email, and.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: I'm going to see you tonight. Awesome.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he wants to meet me at the place where
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: water meets the road.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: That saying Rebecca invented, no, Miranda invented really fun.
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: Well, I'm going to be sticking in the traditional storytelling
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: style and I'm gonna be going into fiction. I really
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: love We got to do these fantasy moments where we
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: would jump into the store worries in the biopics. So
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: I'm gonna do a fucking Cinderella or whatever. What I'm
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: gonna do a fucking Cinderella. I'm just gonna do a
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: take on a Cinderella. So I'm excited to see what
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: it is.
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: Yeah, or whatever.
- 1:08:12Speaker 8: I'm just gonna do a fucking Cinderella or something.
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: What do you mean?
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: Does your version of Cinderella not believe that a hard
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: boiled egg exists?
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: Nice?
- 1:08:20Speaker 8: I don't know how this is being conflated, because you.
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: Know Cinderella the story. Half of the importance is that
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: hard bulls.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: Exactly hard for Cinderella to take a pumpkin to the
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: ball if she doesn't believe in hard boil.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Where do you draw the line?
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Man?
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: Where do you draw the line?
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: Where are you going draw the line? I know my
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: mentor this morning from Afi and I said, remember remember
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: what I said? I was hoping. I was like, the
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: secret's been working. I've been manifesting and I get to
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: meet my hero.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: You're following Oprah's the secret. No was that hers.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Oprah did claim kind of the secret, but you know
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: this Australian woman invented it. I'm manifesting so important, and
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: this was my moment. So I really appreciate you guys
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: kind of being so mean to me. It's gonna be
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: great for my story. I'm going up in the auction
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: next week.
- 1:09:05Speaker 9: What's your story called? Breakfast Denier?
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Breakfast deny, Those don't exist.
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: Humpty Dumpty wasn't real. He's going to stay a fucking wall,
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: so walls exist.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: He sat on a wall and it was real. It happened,
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Can you deny it?
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: He took it great fall, yeah, a grateful a bunch
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: of falls, like a amount.
- 1:09:30Speaker 17: Of grateful, a big rise and fall, and all the
- 1:09:35Speaker 17: king's horses and all the king's men could not put
- 1:09:39Speaker 17: Humpty together again.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: I know it's in my movie. I know the story,
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: and you don't even believe him.
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: Okay, fine, I've been scared to say that exists, because
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: if he exists, then what's gonna stop other eggs from existing?
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: Like that?
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: If we deny, if we if we accept that there
- 1:09:59Speaker 5: was a big egg that lives, that means there's other
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: big eggs that still lives.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: And that's where you'll buy a back start where the
