- 0:24do it all, own a house. We even got air condition.
- 0:30Damn, America's awesome. We even got air conditioned.
- 0:34It's just, it's just that awesome.
- 0:37So happy 4th of July to everybody and be safe out there.
- 0:41Don't be blowing your fingers off.
- 0:44We've seen a lot of bad things happen on 4th of July, so make
- 0:47this a good one. Relax and celebrate the greatest
- 0:52time in America, 4th of July, the greatest land of all.
- 0:59All right, well yesterday I went up the link in Illinois and
- 1:06found myself throwing sliders with a Kenny Conversation
- 1:11graduate. Who could it be?
- 1:15That's right, Justin Allgaar was there and we both started on the
- 1:20front row of our heat race. Crowd was on their feet.
- 1:24That's Justin Allgaars home man. Brandt is from there.
- 1:29You know, Justin Auger told us on Kenny Conversation not long
- 1:33ago that next year, 2026, he's going to turn 40 years old.
- 1:40And he said that will be his last year in NASCAR.
- 1:43And Justin Auger is moving back to Springfield to run his mommy
- 1:48and daddy's business. That was a that was a tribute to
- 1:52all my friends down South. Dale Junior called, called his
- 1:56dad Diddy, Mom, mommy Diddy up north here.
- 2:02Well, Midwest, we're we're not northerners, we're not
- 2:04Southerners. We're Midwesterners.
- 2:07We call our moms mom and dad, Mama, dad.
- 2:11But down South, it's my Diddy, my Mama.
- 2:14But anyway, Justin Allgar, he's going to move back here in a
- 2:18couple years. Next year, 2026 going to be his
- 2:21last year running the Xfinity Series.
- 2:24He's he's going to run his mom and dad's business, Hoosier Tire
- 2:27Midwest. So he started his started his
- 2:30journey last night. And Lincoln is his home track.
- 2:34Lincoln, IL is Justin Auger's home track.
- 2:37I started outside. I went down into one.
- 2:39I drove that son of a bitch down until I saw Jesus.
- 2:42It was a Dick waving contest. I took the lead off him.
- 2:47Well, we went down the back straight away, pretty much side
- 2:49by side and he threw a slider, went slid across track.
- 2:53I got back underneath of him. I went into one, I threw a
- 2:56slider on him. He come back underneath me.
- 2:58I guess how about after two laps he got the best of me.
- 3:02I got loose, I got loose but finished second in the heat
- 3:06race. Justin started on the pole and
- 3:09blew a motor. I think we were maybe lap 3 and
- 3:13we come off at turn 4 down into one and his, his motor started
- 3:18puffing smoke and he had to pull off.
- 3:19So it would have been, it would have been a great race.
- 3:22But I'll tell you, it's like, it's like Dale Senior says, Dale
- 3:27Senior told me years ago, the man in black #3 he said, Herman,
- 3:33there's thousands of great race car drivers all over America
- 3:39just because they cannot make it to NASCAR, you know, you never
- 3:42know what happened. You know, you got thousands of
- 3:45race car drivers and they only start 40 every Sunday.
- 3:48So just because you're not in the NASCAR Cup Series doesn't
- 3:52mean you're not great. So we had some hot rods show up
- 3:56last night. And buddy, we pounded that high
- 3:59side and yes, the old man had to get up there.
- 4:02It was a dominant lane. We finished third.
- 4:05I finished third. Bernard had a hell of a battle
- 4:08for fourth. Was Ryan Hamilton, one of the
- 4:11Stein King boys? The number 24.
- 4:13He won a local #50 was second. I was third.
- 4:19Hamilton was fourth. There's the queen.
- 4:22Why don't she look good? Look at that skin.
- 4:25Look at him legs. God, I wish my she's got the
- 4:29most beautiful skin. My wife does.
- 4:31She's beautiful. Minds me.
- 4:34Minds me. That song, you're beautiful for
- 4:39sure. All right, so we ran a third
- 4:42last night. I am tired, that's all.
- 4:46There's two got a little bit of a cold too.
- 4:48One of those everyday colds, you know, just a nice normal cold.
- 4:51You know, there's versions of having a cold.
- 4:54So this side of the nose gets clogged up.
- 4:57I think what happened? We went out to Brookie's for for
- 5:00Mila's birthday. Mila turned 7 about two days ago
- 5:05and July 2nd, so Mila turned 7. Well, we had all the grandbabies
- 5:11out there and Kim and I got on the trike and we were riding
- 5:14back home and I'm on that trike up in that helmet.
- 5:17I'm like, uh oh, I think I caught man.
- 5:20Whenever you get around in grandbabies, you, you, you
- 5:23better muscle up because you're going to catch something.
- 5:26Then kids, man, they throw them colds around like like you're
- 5:29getting free cars from Oprah. You want a cold?
- 5:32You want a cold? You want a cold?
- 5:36So got back about 1:00 in the morning that that that's a damn
- 5:41problem with doing all that damn travelling with that dirt car.
- 5:43The older you get, it's like, hey, let's just go up to
- 5:46Lincoln, IL. It's only, you know, 2 hours, 20
- 5:49minutes up. Well, that's fine.
- 5:51That's fine. It's only two hours 20 minutes.
- 5:54Well, races did good last night. They got over.
- 5:57We was out of there, 1036103611361236 got home at
- 6:06midnight or no one in the morning.
- 6:08That ended up being rolled up that driveway one in the
- 6:12morning. So yeah, got to bed and so here
- 6:18I am wore out. All right, I think that's it
- 6:22with that, but one of the couple minutes on being hot.
- 6:27So about being hot, man, when I started racing and as my kids
- 6:34got older, my daughter Brandy, she grew up and Brandy looked at
- 6:39me and she goes, God, dad, how do you wear that fire suit in
- 6:44this 100° weather? I see.
- 6:47No, it really is a good question.
- 6:48How do I do that? And it's just mind over matter.
- 6:52It's sitting 100° outside and the fans are like, I'm hot, I'm
- 6:57hot there. I am putting that fire suit on
- 7:01and I got, I'm wearing fireproof underwear and man, I just, I'm
- 7:05so focused. I just put that sumbitch on and
- 7:08you know, because I've seen man, you don't want to you catch on
- 7:11fire that fire suit, that fire suit to give you 7 seconds is
- 7:15what I think it is. You know, you don't want to
- 7:18catch on fire, but you want to be safe.
- 7:21Let me leave you with being hot. 1986 Cincinnati, OH, I I was so,
- 7:32so hot before I even went NASCAR.
- 7:36And you know, at that time I'm I'm busting my ass.
- 7:39It's ASA, American Speed Association.
- 7:42I'm racing Mark Martin, Dick Trickle, Bob Seneker, Mike Eddy,
- 7:46all the big boys. Well, you know, you have crew
- 7:49members, but they were helping me.
- 7:51They just showed up at the racetrack and I'm working on
- 7:53that car. I jump in that car and I run
- 7:55that race and boy, you know me like Rusty said, brother, Rusty
- 8:01says, Herman, you're a wiry little son, bitch, and I am.
- 8:04I go, I go hard. So I run the race and I get home
- 8:10and can you remember this? I mean, I couldn't move.
- 8:15I couldn't move. And I said, what is wrong with
- 8:17me? So Kim runs me up to Saint
- 8:20Anthony Hospital. That's what it was called at the
- 8:22time. Now it's called Mercy up there
- 8:24on 21. She runs me up the hospital.
- 8:27They said you're dehydrated. And I'm like, I'm like 2120, I'm
- 8:332222 years old and I said, what is dehydrated?
- 8:37Hell, I was I was 22 years old. I didn't know what dehydrated
- 8:41meant. I've been drinking my Coke and
- 8:43Pepsi my whole life. Sweet tea, chicken Nuggets,
- 8:47waffle fries. I was completely drained.
- 8:52Couldn't just couldn't even move.
- 8:55So they they put a needle in my arm and filled me up full of
- 8:59saline and buddy, I could feel my body from my toes all wet,
- 9:05just getting cold. I started getting cold.
- 9:08They filled me up. They filled me back up.
- 9:11I was dehydrated. And when you're dehydrated,
- 9:15you'll you'll be going down for the count.
- 9:16It's dangerous. All your organs start shutting
- 9:19down. Gamble on that.
- 9:22Get the out of here kick its ass.
- 9:26So anyway, stay drinking water. Boy, if I I've got a lot of
- 9:31stories about being dehydrated, but I can tell you this.
- 9:34Drink water. Drink the ever living shadow
- 9:38water. I'm like a little factory worker
- 9:40now. You know I got my Toyota Tundra
- 9:43pickup truck. I got my little show car trailer
- 9:45that I stole from brother Rusty and I go to these dirt races and
- 9:49I pack a little lunch. I got a little cooler and in
- 9:52that cooler I put 5 waters and I put an apple and a banana and I
- 9:58get that racetrack and when the night's over, there's usually 1
- 10:01water left and I'm so focused. I just drink the hell out of
- 10:04water. Just drink it.
- 10:05Drink, drink, drink. And I don't even care that it
- 10:08don't taste, it's just that I need it.
- 10:12All right everybody, happy 4th of July.
- 10:16Have a great weekend, stay safe.
