- 0:14Welcome back, my dear friends, to the 129th silver episode of
- 0:20Living Without Fear. I'm Esther Murky, your host from
- 0:24Switzerland. I'm so grateful that you're here
- 0:28with me today, listening with an open heart.
- 0:32You know, I always want to share with you my most personal
- 0:36stories, the ones that don't always look shiny on the
- 0:41surface, that carry within them the deepest lessons.
- 0:46Because I truly believe that when we open up about our own
- 0:53struggles, we give others permission to be a real tool.
- 0:59So today, I want to share again something very personal with
- 1:04you. It's a topic I hesitated to
- 1:08speak about because it feels so vulnerable, so raw.
- 1:13And yet I know that speaking about it might touch some of you
- 1:19deeply. For the past seven years, I've
- 1:24been single. A single woman, a single mom,
- 1:29walking through life without a partner by my side.
- 1:34And I want to say this right at the beginning, these years have
- 1:39been sacred. They have shaped me because in
- 1:44the past, I was always in a relationship, always seeking
- 1:49love, approval and validation from the outside world.
- 1:55It was as if my worth depended on whether someone loved me
- 2:00back. But these seven years alone,
- 2:05they forced me to turn inward, to stop running, to look inside
- 2:12and finally meet myself. To discover that love must first
- 2:18grow from within. It was a long process, but the
- 2:24beautiful one I needed. This time it was my training
- 2:30ground for self love. It's taught me that I am whole
- 2:36even when no one else is holding my hand.
- 2:41And for a long time, I felt completely fine being single.
- 2:48Until something shifted at the Tony Robbins event in Germany.
- 2:54Sitting in this huge arena, surrounded by 12,000 people from
- 3:01all over the world, I suddenly had an awakening moment.
- 3:06I realized being single wasn't just about me anymore.
- 3:13It was also about the two most important people in my life, my
- 3:18sons. Why?
- 3:21Because as a mother, I am their role model.
- 3:26And whether we realise it or not, our children absorb
- 3:32everything. We show them the way we love,
- 3:37the way we argue, the way we give or don't.
- 3:43It all becomes part of their inner image of what love is
- 3:49supposed to look like. And as I sat there in that arena
- 3:56watching Tony Robbins working with a lady single like me, I
- 4:02suddenly had tears running down my face because I realized what
- 4:08kind of role model had I been. I didn't have a healthy
- 4:15relationship with their father. I criticized him openly when the
- 4:21boys were small and even later after our divorce, they saw me
- 4:28in 2 relationships that didn't make me happy.
- 4:33I thought I was showing them something different, something
- 4:38better. But in truth, I wasn't.
- 4:43And that realization hit me hard, because if I want my sons
- 4:50to believe in love, if I want them to build healthy families
- 4:56of their own, I have to show them something new, not only for
- 5:03myself, but for them, for their future partners, for their
- 5:09future children. What I heal within myself will
- 5:15ripple through generations. And then another image appeared
- 5:21in my mind. My future grandchildren,
- 5:25children who are not even born yet.
- 5:29And I thought, what will they inherit from me?
- 5:35Will they inherit the armour of a woman who shut her heart to
- 5:41protect herself, or the openness of a woman who dared to love
- 5:47again even after being hurt? That moment was powerful because
- 5:55I suddenly understood that every choice I make becomes part of my
- 6:02family story. And I want that story to be 1 of
- 6:07love, not fear. For many years I carried the
- 6:14badge of being the strong woman. I told myself I didn't need a
- 6:20man. I could do it all.
- 6:23Raise my children, pay the bills, carry the weight.
- 6:29I became both mother and father. I carried so much masculine
- 6:36energy that there was no space left for a truly strong, loving
- 6:43man to enter my life. And if I look back, I can see
- 6:48how this pattern started long ago.
- 6:52My father wanted me to be intelligent, rational,
- 6:57emotionally strong, the opposite of my mother who suffered from
- 7:03low self esteem but carried a lot of masculine energy herself.
- 7:11As a teenager I promised myself I will never be like my mother.
- 7:17I wanted to be like my father, but at the same time I resented
- 7:24him for being such a patriarch. So I grew up with this inner
- 7:31confusion about what it really means to be a woman and what it
- 7:38means to be a man. And of course that confusion
- 7:43played out in my relationships. Maybe you can relate to that.
- 7:51Maybe you 2 have borne armor for years, telling yourself you
- 7:58don't need anyone, while deep down a part of you is longing to
- 8:04be held, to be cared for, to be seen in your softness.
- 8:11I don't pretend to have all the answers.
- 8:15I'm still on this path. It's trial and error, learning
- 8:21and unlearning again and again. But here is what I've
- 8:26discovered. I don't have to change who I am.
- 8:32I just have to stop pretending. I don't have to play the role of
- 8:39the strong woman who never needs help.
- 8:43I can show myself fragile. I can cry.
- 8:48I can laugh like a little girl. I can be silly and playful.
- 8:55And you know what? When I imagine myself living
- 9:00from that place, soft, feminine, radiant, I feel lighter.
- 9:08It's as if a heavy armor is melting off my shoulders.
- 9:15I breathe differently, I walk differently, I smile
- 9:20differently. Maybe that's what you need, too.
- 9:26To stop proving, to stop carrying the world alone.
- 9:32To allow yourself to receive love and kindness without guilt.
- 9:39To remember that true strength doesn't come from hardness.
- 9:46It comes from openness, from trust, from allowing life to
- 9:51touch you. So here are a few small steps
- 9:57that might help you reconnect with that soft, radiant energy
- 10:03within you. Allow yourself to receive.
- 10:09When someone helps you or gives you a compliment, say thank you
- 10:14and let it in play. Bring back lightness, sing,
- 10:21dance, laugh at yourself, Show your emotions.
- 10:27Tears are not weakness, they're release.
- 10:32Heal your past. Forgive your parents, they did
- 10:37the best they could and make peace with your own inner mother
- 10:43and father. Visualize love not from a place
- 10:49of need, but from a place of openness.
- 10:54See yourself in a loving, supportive partnership.
- 11:00Model love even if you're single.
- 11:04Model kindness, patience, and joy in the way you treat
- 11:10yourself. And lastly, believe in change.
- 11:16It's never too late, just like I saw in my father how even at 90
- 11:24he could still change. It is never too late for any of
- 11:29us. So my dear listener, this is
- 11:34where I stand today. I'm still single, but for the
- 11:39first time in years, I feel my heart opening again.
- 11:45And I'm not doing it only for me.
- 11:48I'm doing it for my sons, for their future partners, for the
- 11:54generations that will follow. Because every change we make, no
- 12:00matter how small, ripples outward.
- 12:05It becomes our legacy. And maybe one day, when my sons
- 12:11hold their own children in their arms, they will remember their
- 12:16mother as a woman who dared to grow, who dared to soften, who
- 12:23dared to love again. And if that becomes my legacy,
- 12:29then every struggle was worth it.
- 12:34Thank you for listening to my heart today.
- 12:37If this message spoke to you, take it as a gentle reminder.
- 12:44You are allowed to be real, you are allowed to be soft, and you
- 12:51are allowed to love again. Because love is never lost.
- 12:58It's always there, waiting quietly inside us until we are
- 13:05ready to open the door. And if you feel called to work
- 13:12with me, please reach out. I would love to help you
- 13:16breakthrough all patterns and step into your new version with
- 13:22ease and love. Thank you for letting me share
- 13:27this very personal story with you.
- 13:29It means so much to me to know that my voice reaches your
- 13:35heart. Until next week.
