- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:10Speaker 1: Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is
- 0:13Speaker 1: Michael Bennett. On this Wednesday, June twenty fourth. Oh my goodness,
- 0:18Speaker 1: what a beautiful day it is. It's actually really nice
- 0:22Speaker 1: outside and a little chill in the air. But I
- 0:25Speaker 1: think it's getting ready to change. But Matthew Childress is
- 0:27Speaker 1: here with me today as he is just absolutely chowing
- 0:31Speaker 1: down his breakfast. Didn't ask me if I wanted anything,
- 0:35Speaker 1: but he certainly is eating in front of me. Made
- 0:37Speaker 1: the whole place, the whole studio smell absolutely delicious. And
- 0:42Speaker 1: all I want now is a bacon, egg and biscuit.
- 0:46Speaker 1: But go ahead, enjoy your breakfast. I'm good. I don't
- 0:50Speaker 1: need anything to eat. Thank you for the offer.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I'm glad you don't need anything because I didn't get
- 0:56Speaker 2: you anything. I also appreciate your permission to nourish myself.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Well, it's not that you need your permission or my permission,
- 1:06Speaker 1: but you know they're there. Do people have courtesy anymore?
- 1:11Speaker 1: Do they do? They do? They have manners? They do?
- 1:14Speaker 1: You think?
- 1:15Speaker 3: So I'm one of those people.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You are, But to have that courtesy and to have honestly,
- 1:20Speaker 2: to have those manners, you have to have funds within
- 1:22Speaker 2: your bank account.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Oh there we go. Okay that so it's all about
- 1:27Speaker 1: the money. So if you don't have much money, you
- 1:29Speaker 1: cannot you can have bad manners, is what you're saying.
- 1:31Speaker 3: No, I'm just saying I can't.
- 1:34Speaker 2: It's it's like remember when you were a kid and
- 1:36Speaker 2: then you would bring a snack to class and the
- 1:38Speaker 2: teacher would be like, you can't bring a snack, Let's
- 1:39Speaker 2: bring them up for everybody. Yes, I'm like, okay, well,
- 1:42Speaker 2: my mom can't afford to pay for the entire class
- 1:45Speaker 2: of snacks.
- 1:45Speaker 3: You just wanted me to have this, So.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Then you can't have a snack. So that's when it
- 1:49Speaker 1: comes down to. You can't have a snack if you
- 1:52Speaker 1: can't bring one for everybody. You cannot have.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Sea our adults. If you were hungry, you could have
- 1:57Speaker 2: got something yourself on the way here. I don't have
- 1:59Speaker 2: to take care of you, You don't have to take
- 2:00Speaker 2: care of me. But but my courtesy side would say,
- 2:04Speaker 2: you know, if I'm going to eat something in front
- 2:05Speaker 2: of you, I'm going to offer something to you. I'm
- 2:07Speaker 2: going to bring you something in.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I I that's fine. You know I'm going to disagree.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I understand.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just I like making fun so anyway, but no,
- 2:17Speaker 1: just continue to have something. It's okay, I'm thirsty over here,
- 2:20Speaker 1: which I had something to drink.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I mean, that's that sounds like your problem it is
- 2:28Speaker 2: you want to like go lip to lip over here
- 2:30Speaker 2: when I'm on the red boy.
- 2:31Speaker 1: No, I'm good to that. No, and I'll pass on
- 2:33Speaker 1: that one. Well, because there is a a tweet that's
- 2:38Speaker 1: going out that made me really laugh yesterday, and then
- 2:42Speaker 1: I saw a response today that made me laugh even harder.
- 2:47Speaker 1: If you want to call in, by the way, Fibo
- 2:48Speaker 1: two three four fourteen fifty, I forgot to give that out.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Or if you want to text me on the Whiskey
- 2:52Speaker 1: Thief text line Fibo two four one four fourteen fifty,
- 2:55Speaker 1: or you can tweet me it just cat radio all right? Now?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Uh did you see the post that Major League Baseball
- 3:02Speaker 1: put out yesterday? And it was of a dog just
- 3:05Speaker 1: having the time of his life at a baseball game
- 3:08Speaker 1: and his owners are sitting there giving him bites of
- 3:12Speaker 1: their hot dog. You've not seen this, and then in
- 3:17Speaker 1: the background it was clearly dog nights at some game,
- 3:20Speaker 1: and it must have been in a Marlins game. And
- 3:22Speaker 1: then there's a dog in the background that is not
- 3:26Speaker 1: getting the royal treatment that this other dog is getting.
- 3:29Speaker 1: So the poor dog in the background is just staring
- 3:33Speaker 1: at the other dog as the dog is just chowing
- 3:37Speaker 1: down on a hot dog and having the time of
- 3:40Speaker 1: his life. Well, now the Marlins, the Miami Marlins, have
- 3:44Speaker 1: responded and said and put a picture of the dog
- 3:46Speaker 1: staring at the other dog. Find this dog. The Marlins
- 3:50Speaker 1: would like to treat him to a dream day at
- 3:54Speaker 1: what is it called landopot? Oh lone depot part? Okay,
- 4:00Speaker 1: it's all one word, is Lambda Pot? I know, well
- 4:03Speaker 1: it's all one word. I mean, if they would, it's
- 4:05Speaker 1: Loan Depot Park. So give me a give me, give
- 4:09Speaker 1: me a hard time. I don't blame you, But so
- 4:11Speaker 1: I love this and they have the poor dogs staring
- 4:14Speaker 1: out there. Do you like the fact that the Marlins
- 4:16Speaker 1: are now wanting to give this poor dog the dream
- 4:20Speaker 1: day at Loan Depot Park?
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yes, of course I do too.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I mean he was left out, just like I'm being
- 4:28Speaker 1: left out right now for breakfast.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Look, okay, I as somebody who's owned multiple dogs in
- 4:33Speaker 2: their lifetime, yes, some dogs can eat things other dogs can't.
- 4:38Speaker 2: My dogs when I had them, yeah, I couldn't feed
- 4:40Speaker 2: them anything off a table because they would instantly craft
- 4:43Speaker 2: themselves for forty for four straight hours. So you know what, really,
- 4:47Speaker 2: maybe those dog owners were saying, look, you might want
- 4:49Speaker 2: that hot dog.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I'm not paying the price for when we get home.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So the Miami Marlins, I'm glad.
- 4:56Speaker 2: They're gonna reach out and help the dog out, but
- 4:58Speaker 2: you also need to stand your lane just a little
- 5:00Speaker 2: Oh really.
- 5:01Speaker 1: They need to stay the Marlins need to stay in
- 5:03Speaker 1: their legs just a little bit.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I hope they. I want them to bout them ham
- 5:07Speaker 3: for the dog.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Yes, I'm My biggest pet peeve with owning a dog
- 5:12Speaker 2: is when people try and feed my dog stuff. I
- 5:14Speaker 2: didn't tell them they could, Like if I take them
- 5:16Speaker 2: to the park or something, they try and give them food.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I'm like, no, don't do that.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Yeah. See, I'm with you there. Because we had a
- 5:23Speaker 1: chocolate lab that had a wheat allergy, so he couldn't
- 5:26Speaker 1: have certain dog for foods otherwise he would have a reaction.
- 5:31Speaker 1: And I'm with you there. That's that's why I got
- 5:34Speaker 1: into the habit of always when when I see a
- 5:37Speaker 1: pet and people are dragging their dog all you know,
- 5:40Speaker 1: they're dragging them everywhere today, which is way too much.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But when I see them and I it's like, oh,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I want to see that dog, I'll go up immediately
- 5:48Speaker 1: to them and say, may I pet your dog? That
- 5:52Speaker 1: is the common courtesy thing to do, just like if
- 5:56Speaker 1: you're going to feed them a treat? Is it okay?
- 5:58Speaker 1: If I give your dog a treat, then you find
- 6:00Speaker 1: out if you can or cannot give them a treat
- 6:03Speaker 1: because you never know if they've got some sort of allergy.
- 6:06Speaker 2: No, I I completely agree, Yeah, because one it's look,
- 6:10Speaker 2: I'm a person who raised more aggressive animals unfortunately, So
- 6:15Speaker 2: a lot of it comes down to the fact of like,
- 6:17Speaker 2: if you're a person who walks up to a random dog,
- 6:20Speaker 2: you don't know what they are, right, you don't know
- 6:22Speaker 2: what they do right, and then if you get hurt,
- 6:24Speaker 2: that's on you.
- 6:25Speaker 3: That's on you.
- 6:26Speaker 2: But now that person is liable because you could take
- 6:28Speaker 2: them to court, you could do this and that, and
- 6:30Speaker 2: then what's the person with the dog going to say, well,
- 6:32Speaker 2: it just ran up on me this and that, Like, no,
- 6:35Speaker 2: you're gonna.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Have It's just it's a bad situation.
- 6:39Speaker 2: At the same time, I feel the same way about
- 6:42Speaker 2: like obviously little kids don't know any better. Yeah, like
- 6:46Speaker 2: they just run up to their dogs different, Right, that's
- 6:48Speaker 2: on the parents to be like, hey, you can't just
- 6:50Speaker 2: run up to that dog. So, like I was at
- 6:52Speaker 2: the park with my dogs like a couple months ago,
- 6:55Speaker 2: just taking them for a walk. It was basically empty,
- 6:58Speaker 2: and I felt bad with this mom. She was obviously
- 7:01Speaker 2: doing it on her own. She had like three kids
- 7:02Speaker 2: with her.
- 7:03Speaker 3: One of them was like like almost an infant.
- 7:04Speaker 2: She was carrying them, but they're her kid who was
- 7:07Speaker 2: like a toddler, saw me walking my dogs and like
- 7:13Speaker 2: just sprinted away from her, like and she wasn't she
- 7:16Speaker 2: didn't know she was like he was behind her. She
- 7:19Speaker 2: was dealing with her other kid at the same time, right,
- 7:21Speaker 2: and sprinted all the way across this park like not
- 7:24Speaker 2: like like running directly at my dogs, and I had
- 7:28Speaker 2: to like pull them back and like this, and like
- 7:31Speaker 2: you right, they don't you know, they weren't.
- 7:32Speaker 3: They don't like people running up on them and stuff
- 7:34Speaker 3: like that.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Like I didn't get bad at the mom, right, They
- 7:36Speaker 2: wasn't her fault, but because she tried to come after him,
- 7:38Speaker 2: but she was carrying two other kids at the same time.
- 7:40Speaker 3: But it's one of those where like it's the same.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Thing is like it's it blows my mind when some
- 7:46Speaker 2: people like don't have that thought of like, oh, I
- 7:49Speaker 2: should ask this person first before because you don't know
- 7:51Speaker 2: what can.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Happen exactly, and then it's on you, which which I
- 7:54Speaker 1: think is so wrong that that's where I was just like,
- 7:57Speaker 1: come on, man, do we have to be a lawsuit
- 8:01Speaker 1: nation where everything is a lawsuit? And it's like, well,
- 8:05Speaker 1: but they came to my dog and my dog wasn't
- 8:07Speaker 1: expecting this. I think it's just common courtesy go up
- 8:10Speaker 1: to him and ask him, Hey, may I'm pitt your dog.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I just think it is. I think so, yeah, we
- 8:16Speaker 1: finally agree on something. I'm so glad. But all right,
- 8:18Speaker 1: the NBA Draft was last night. I'm gonna say right now, Matthew,
- 8:25Speaker 1: there was some big surprises to me, and one of
- 8:28Speaker 1: them was absolutely former UK basketball player Jaden Quainton's. They
- 8:34Speaker 1: didn't even invite him to the green room and so
- 8:38Speaker 1: he didn't get that opportunity. But are you surprised as
- 8:41Speaker 1: much as I am that the San Antonio Spurs drafted
- 8:45Speaker 1: him number twenty in the NBA Draft last night.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I mean, he's the type of player they kind of need.
- 8:52Speaker 2: But at the same time, yes, I was extremely surprised
- 8:54Speaker 2: as him go as high as twenty.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I am too. I figured it would be high second round.
- 9:00Speaker 1: What were you thinking?
- 9:01Speaker 2: I could see high second round. I guess it depends
- 9:04Speaker 2: on what kind of dominos fall in front of him.
- 9:05Speaker 2: He could have dropped a little bit lower. But yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 2: I figured like early to you know, high second round.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly early to high second rounds. Yeah, I'm
- 9:15Speaker 1: right there with you. And but to go twentieth, I
- 9:19Speaker 1: think that's a bit of a risk for this first
- 9:21Speaker 1: more than it is for Jade and Quaintance. Now, because
- 9:24Speaker 1: a lot of us have always questioned this year, I
- 9:28Speaker 1: wouldn't say all of us, but I'd say a lot
- 9:30Speaker 1: of us as far as UK fans were questioning whether
- 9:35Speaker 1: or not it really it was a lingering issue as
- 9:39Speaker 1: far as his knee injury. But according to one of
- 9:45Speaker 1: the higher ups, as far as the team doctor for
- 9:49Speaker 1: the book, Brooklyn Nets said, yeah, he's got a knee
- 9:52Speaker 1: issue and he probably needs a little cleanup on surgery,
- 9:57Speaker 1: and so therefore, if he does do that it'll delay
- 10:01Speaker 1: his start for the season with the Spurs, but it
- 10:04Speaker 1: could help him have a longer career in the NBA.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Hearing that, because I was questioning whether or not he
- 10:14Speaker 1: was really still injured or not. Hearing that, do you
- 10:17Speaker 1: kind of believe he was still having that bit of
- 10:19Speaker 1: an issue while at UK.
- 10:21Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, he definitely probably was. But at the
- 10:24Speaker 2: same time, if that was the only thing going on,
- 10:30Speaker 2: you could have just said that, yes, you know what
- 10:32Speaker 2: I mean, like you right. It gives me the vibes
- 10:34Speaker 2: of if it was going on either Mark Pope and
- 10:37Speaker 2: the staff or embarrassed to admit that stuff and say, hey,
- 10:40Speaker 2: we probably shouldn't have taken a shot and paid this
- 10:42Speaker 2: dude because he's not gonna play no matter what. You
- 10:44Speaker 2: probably should have just came out from the jumpin says
- 10:46Speaker 2: it like that. If that's true.
- 10:48Speaker 3: If not, then yeah, he's still he's just sitting out
- 10:50Speaker 3: to sit out.
- 10:51Speaker 1: But because doesn't it make you feel better once you
- 10:53Speaker 1: really know the whole story and that kind of ends
- 10:56Speaker 1: all the questions once you know, hey, if the if
- 11:00Speaker 1: you UK came out, I don't know if it necessarily
- 11:02Speaker 1: have to be Mark Pope, and it'd feel better if
- 11:04Speaker 1: it was. But if he came out and said, listen,
- 11:06Speaker 1: we thought his injury was going to be healing a
- 11:08Speaker 1: lot quicker, it hasn't. I kind of made a mistake
- 11:12Speaker 1: maybe bringing him to UK. I will not make this
- 11:15Speaker 1: mistake again. Therefore we won't have this happen again.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I think the mistake was that if this was true, yes,
- 11:23Speaker 2: then Mark Pope was almost lying to everybody the entire time,
- 11:26Speaker 2: because he was the one who was advocating that.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:29Speaker 3: He's he's returning faster than we could have believed.
- 11:31Speaker 2: He's doing this, He's he's in the one on fives now,
- 11:34Speaker 2: he's in the five on ones.
- 11:35Speaker 3: He's in all that.
- 11:36Speaker 2: He like, he was giving these updates by Jane Quinn's
- 11:38Speaker 2: all the time, and the nets are coming out and saying, oh,
- 11:42Speaker 2: he might have to actually have surgery again. If that's true,
- 11:44Speaker 2: then like Mark, why are we Why were we lying
- 11:48Speaker 2: about this the whole time?
- 11:49Speaker 1: I wouldn't call Mark Pope liar.
- 11:52Speaker 3: I'm saying if that was, if that was actually going on.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yes, I just listen. I think he takes every little
- 11:59Speaker 1: bit of good news and he wants everybody to know
- 12:02Speaker 1: the good news because he's so excited, and I tend
- 12:05Speaker 1: to think maybe sometimes he tends to maybe exaggerate a
- 12:09Speaker 1: little bit or not intentionally, and I just feel like
- 12:14Speaker 1: that's Mark Pope wants to make the fan base happy,
- 12:17Speaker 1: and he when he hears a little bit of tidbit
- 12:19Speaker 1: of good news, he wants to share it with everybody
- 12:21Speaker 1: when probably he should not.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I mean, you know what makes people happy when your
- 12:25Speaker 2: star player plays well, not from a guy who star
- 12:28Speaker 2: players didn't play.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I know how it feels. Well exactly, we're
- 12:33Speaker 1: gonna talk about Michael Brown in just a little bit.
- 12:35Speaker 1: But uh i, uh I look at it because the
- 12:40Speaker 1: other part that reminds me of how Mark Pope has been,
- 12:42Speaker 1: which is it's good, but it's bad. He really tended
- 12:47Speaker 1: to exaggerate on the shooting positive with that team last year.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Remember we were talking about this, you me and Justin
- 12:56Speaker 1: and I came up with a topic how well this
- 12:58Speaker 1: team is shooting, and how Mark Pope said, this is
- 13:00Speaker 1: going to be one of the greatest shooting teams that
- 13:02Speaker 1: UK's ever had, maybe in the country. And then all
- 13:05Speaker 1: of a sudden it's like, well, this is not a
- 13:06Speaker 1: very good shooting team at all. It's like where did
- 13:09Speaker 1: that come from. Was he trying to pump up the
- 13:11Speaker 1: team to make them believe they're a good shooting team,
- 13:15Speaker 1: or did they just have a really good practice and
- 13:18Speaker 1: the stats show that it was a really good practice
- 13:20Speaker 1: and then they ended up not being a really good
- 13:22Speaker 1: shooting team. I don't know which it is, but it's
- 13:26Speaker 1: kind of frustrating, and I feel like maybe Mark Pope
- 13:30Speaker 1: should be a little more forthcoming on not just the positives,
- 13:34Speaker 1: but the negatives too, And I think that would make
- 13:38Speaker 1: the fan base overcome a lot of well you said this,
- 13:43Speaker 1: what happened here? I don't know. You tell me, what
- 13:45Speaker 1: do you think?
- 13:46Speaker 3: I mean?
- 13:46Speaker 2: I think that this season, you know, we all make mistakes,
- 13:50Speaker 2: we all do stupid stuff, and the way of life
- 13:53Speaker 2: is doing stupid stuff, making those mistakes, and then.
- 13:56Speaker 3: You having the.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Knowledge and the wisdom to say, you know what, I
- 14:03Speaker 2: made the mistake.
- 14:03Speaker 3: I'm never gonna make that mistake again.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I think the issue with Mark Pope is he made
- 14:09Speaker 2: too many of those mistakes in one season. When it
- 14:11Speaker 2: comes to addressing the fans, he made too many I
- 14:14Speaker 2: can never do this again, mistakes, you know what I mean?
- 14:16Speaker 2: So I think that it leads to the point where
- 14:20Speaker 2: if you're not strong enough mentally, it could carry you
- 14:23Speaker 2: into the next season. We're like, okay, well, I can't
- 14:25Speaker 2: hype up this area of the team. I can't say
- 14:27Speaker 2: that we're doing better at this than I originally thought,
- 14:31Speaker 2: because everybody's gonna have these receipts on what I said
- 14:33Speaker 2: last season.
- 14:33Speaker 3: They're gonna they're not gonna believe me. I can't.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Well, that does tend to make you feel that way.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I say it one way extreme wise, then you're gonna say, okay, yeah, right.
- 14:43Speaker 2: And that's that's right. I feel that's what I'm saying.
- 14:45Speaker 2: The problem is he was almost like he was almost
- 14:48Speaker 2: like the boy who cried wolf. Last season was like, Okay,
- 14:51Speaker 2: Mark said, every time you said something, the opposite happened,
- 14:55Speaker 2: whether it was your fault or whether it was out
- 14:58Speaker 2: of your control. Now you've got this rapport where not
- 15:01Speaker 2: only are you not winning games, not only are you
- 15:04Speaker 2: not getting their cruts you want, but you also we
- 15:06Speaker 2: can't trust the things you say, so it what do
- 15:10Speaker 2: we believe? Like?
- 15:12Speaker 1: It comes down to the one.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Point that everybody said last season over and over again,
- 15:16Speaker 2: you have to just stop talking and just win the
- 15:19Speaker 2: basketball games, and we'll be fine, that's it.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Win the games. UK almost lost the most draft picks
- 15:26Speaker 1: in the first round yesterday to the Duke. It would
- 15:29Speaker 1: have probably uh tied because they only had a Boozer
- 15:33Speaker 1: that was in the first round. The other Cam Boozer
- 15:36Speaker 1: and then Isaiah Evans did not get picked in the
- 15:39Speaker 1: first round, right, I don't though, I don't think so.
- 15:42Speaker 2: After mikel got drafted, I'll stop watching. Oh really that
- 15:44Speaker 2: was enough for you. I just I don't like the draft.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It's boring.
- 15:48Speaker 2: The NBA and the NFL, the NHL, it will be
- 15:51Speaker 2: all the drafts are just. The television version of this
- 15:56Speaker 2: meeting could have been an email, like you could just send,
- 15:58Speaker 2: just send me the list of who got picked.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Yeah, uh is Adam Silver. He's one of those guys,
- 16:05Speaker 1: the NBA commissioner. He's one of those guys that just
- 16:08Speaker 1: not it's having a bald head is not a good
- 16:11Speaker 1: look for him.
- 16:12Speaker 3: That was an alien.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I wouldn't gonna say that, but I certainly thought, yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 2: I know he is a skin walker. I don't know
- 16:20Speaker 2: what's going on. Keep walking to look at.
- 16:25Speaker 1: He is et a little bit. But uh, I wasn't
- 16:27Speaker 1: gonna say that. But it's some people really look good
- 16:30Speaker 1: with bald heads. Like we've talked about this before. I'm
- 16:35Speaker 1: not certain. I think Mark Pope is really good looking
- 16:37Speaker 1: with the bald head. I just I guess I look
- 16:39Speaker 1: back to the days when he was on the ninety
- 16:41Speaker 1: sixteen and he had hair. Now to see him bald headed,
- 16:44Speaker 1: it just it just looks different. Adam Silver, I can
- 16:47Speaker 1: honestly say he looks horrible with a bald head. Michael Jordan,
- 16:51Speaker 1: I think really looks good with a bald head. But
- 16:54Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean famous bald head people in
- 16:57Speaker 1: the country. Who's a famous movie star with bald head? Oh?
- 17:01Speaker 2: Vin Diesel ven Diel's is a good one. The rock Yeah,
- 17:06Speaker 2: but he had hair for a little while.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh what's his name from die Hard?
- 17:12Speaker 1: Oh? Yes, he looks terrible, terrible. I don't think he
- 17:16Speaker 1: looks good with a bald head.
- 17:17Speaker 3: He's like, that's like the most iconic bald head of
- 17:19Speaker 3: all time.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Howie Mandel, Howie Mandela, I don't think looks good with
- 17:25Speaker 1: the bald head. No, I mean my generation, well before,
- 17:29Speaker 1: maybe a little before my generation. There is an actor
- 17:32Speaker 1: you've never heard of named Telly Sabalis. He used to
- 17:36Speaker 1: have a TV show where his trademark was sucking on
- 17:40Speaker 1: a sucker the end time he investigated a murder. This
- 17:43Speaker 1: is back in the seventies. He was probably back then
- 17:47Speaker 1: one of the more iconic bald headed guys. Okay, yeah,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I know there's more out there. We're missing it.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I don't know, but I'll take any opportunity to take
- 17:57Speaker 2: shots at Absilver. I can't stay on that guy.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Really, is he the worst commissioner of all all time
- 18:02Speaker 1: pro pro sports?
- 18:03Speaker 3: All time?
- 18:03Speaker 1: He is? He is ruining the NBA. He's worse than Goodell.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Where Goodell at least growing the sport. Other countries want
- 18:10Speaker 2: the sport to come there, and Silver is not. No
- 18:13Speaker 2: other countries avidly are losing interest in the NBA.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I agree with that is Asia losing interest. Once he
- 18:19Speaker 1: loses Asia, then I think it's over for Adam Silver.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I mean, I can't speak on Asia. I don't know,
- 18:25Speaker 3: but yeah, I know.
- 18:26Speaker 2: That they're like there are other leagues around the especially
- 18:28Speaker 2: in the euro League, that are gaining popularity with their
- 18:31Speaker 2: fans that they're tuning out of the NBA into watching
- 18:33Speaker 2: their own leagues.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Now, so that's a big problem.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Uh So, as I mentioned just a couple of months ago,
- 18:37Speaker 1: UK almost lost most draft picks in the first round.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Now UK sit at sixty one, Duke is at sixty.
- 18:46Speaker 1: They're gonna lose that, aren't they. Because Duke just continues
- 18:49Speaker 1: to bring all these players into Duke. I mean, yeah,
- 18:52Speaker 1: John Shire is doing a nice job. And is it
- 18:54Speaker 1: John Shire that's doing it, or you think Mike Krzyzewski's
- 18:57Speaker 1: still involved or John Shire has that now he can
- 19:00Speaker 1: get these big names to come to Duke, continue to
- 19:03Speaker 1: come to Duke.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I mean, I think he has the name now to
- 19:05Speaker 2: bring these guys in. I don't think coach k was
- 19:08Speaker 2: really that much involved for a lot of this. I
- 19:10Speaker 2: think a lot of it came down to the fact
- 19:12Speaker 2: that like money, money and the Duke had the pedigree.
- 19:15Speaker 2: They kind of switched coaches at the perfect time where
- 19:17Speaker 2: like because of the beginning of AL it was just money.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Nobody cared right like it was it was just look,
- 19:22Speaker 2: this team's gonna give me two hundred thousand dollars and
- 19:24Speaker 2: that was the h I was the highest paid athlete
- 19:26Speaker 2: in college at that time, and Duke had plenty of
- 19:28Speaker 2: money to give out. Now it's the point where like
- 19:31Speaker 2: it's a lot higher. They still have more money to
- 19:33Speaker 2: give out. John Shire has, you know, been to the
- 19:35Speaker 2: mountaintop of college basketball already almost so he's kind of
- 19:39Speaker 2: building his own pedigree. As much as I dislike John Shire,
- 19:42Speaker 2: I mean, I can't not give the due credit for
- 19:44Speaker 2: what he's done. I don't know if I disliked John Shire,
- 19:47Speaker 2: I just I don't care. I mean, to me, he's
- 19:49Speaker 2: really just it doesn't matter.
- 19:51Speaker 1: He's not. He's not of the level of Mike Krzewski
- 19:54Speaker 1: where I disliked him so much.
- 19:56Speaker 2: I dislike him for the sole reason is he's just
- 19:59Speaker 2: the nep baby of college basketball. Like he just inherits
- 20:02Speaker 2: the greatest team of all time, and he never has
- 20:06Speaker 2: to falter.
- 20:06Speaker 1: He never had his team of all time.
- 20:08Speaker 2: No, I'm saying, like, like Duke is like a pedigree
- 20:11Speaker 2: of a team, like he just inherits this as his
- 20:13Speaker 2: first real coaching job. He's never had to like really
- 20:15Speaker 2: struggle for it. Like he gets everywhere. Oh so he's
- 20:18Speaker 2: a spoiled little kid. He gets everywhere fruit he wants.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I think he's a good coach. I don't think he
- 20:26Speaker 2: could do this in any other school in the country.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I think he's an Okay, coach, that's what I think.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I mean, look at the players he's had there, and
- 20:33Speaker 2: he's lost it every single he and won a championship. Now,
- 20:36Speaker 2: until he wins a championship, I won't respect him. But
- 20:41Speaker 2: that's nineteen consecutive years that UK has had a player
- 20:45Speaker 2: at least selected in the first round of the NBA Draft.
- 20:49Speaker 2: You think UK fans still care about that? Do you
- 20:53Speaker 2: think to me, when when the last coach would would oh,
- 20:59Speaker 2: we got all these first round draft picks, I didn't care.
- 21:04Speaker 2: To me, it was almost to the point of embarrassment.
- 21:07Speaker 2: You have all these players, and you mean you can't
- 21:09Speaker 2: get to the final four, you can't get close to
- 21:12Speaker 2: a championship. That to me was always embarrassing towards the
- 21:16Speaker 2: end of Col's career UK. For me, am I the
- 21:19Speaker 2: only one that feels that way. I know there's people
- 21:22Speaker 2: out there who all they cares about is statistics and
- 21:25Speaker 2: they're like, oh, my school is.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Cor Corey Price.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Yeah, my team has this many this, and that's my
- 21:32Speaker 2: I have like, yes, it's cool to watch your team's
- 21:35Speaker 2: name pop up on the screen in the first round
- 21:37Speaker 2: and this that's it's like four seconds of satisfaction. You know,
- 21:42Speaker 2: like you said, a lot of that comes down to, man,
- 21:45Speaker 2: we had this guy and we couldn't do this. Man,
- 21:47Speaker 2: we had this guy, we couldn't do that. You know,
- 21:49Speaker 2: like even when Donno Mitchell got drafted in the first round,
- 21:52Speaker 2: I was like, we really lost in the second round
- 21:54Speaker 2: to a Michigan team when we had this guy who
- 21:56Speaker 2: ends up being one of the best players in the NBA.
- 21:58Speaker 3: You know, miche Brown didn't play half the sea all
- 22:01Speaker 3: this stuff.
- 22:02Speaker 2: It's cool, Like I said, it's cool to see it.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I really could not care less. I could not care
- 22:07Speaker 2: less where the dudes on my team get drafted. I'm
- 22:09Speaker 2: happy they get drafted because you know, all of those
- 22:11Speaker 2: players and I want to see them succeed. They go
- 22:13Speaker 2: to the third, the seventh, the thirtieth round. I could
- 22:17Speaker 2: not see. I'm right there with you. I mean, it's
- 22:19Speaker 2: kind of cool to see him go in the first round.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I don't care otherwise. I'm hoping Otega oh wait gets
- 22:25Speaker 2: drafted tonight.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 22:30Speaker 2: I look at it in the sense of like when
- 22:32Speaker 2: I was in middle school in high school, used to
- 22:33Speaker 2: argue about sports all the time.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's just what I was one of those people
- 22:36Speaker 3: I did all the.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Time, and you're still doing it today.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, that's my job, but now I'm getting
- 22:41Speaker 2: paid to do it, so it's more enjoyable. But yeah,
- 22:45Speaker 2: I couldn't imagine sitting down having arguing with somebody, whether
- 22:48Speaker 2: they're a Kentucky fan, whether they're a Michigan, whatever team
- 22:51Speaker 2: you're a fan of, and sitting here saying, well, we
- 22:54Speaker 2: have this many draft picks. You guys have that many
- 22:56Speaker 2: draft I'm like, I don't I don't care. I don't care.
- 22:59Speaker 2: What if you done the last ten years. I could
- 23:02Speaker 2: not care if you're putting thirty people in the draft
- 23:06Speaker 2: every ten years, but you have done nothing that what's
- 23:09Speaker 2: the point?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Yeah, were you surprised Boozer went three instead of one
- 23:12Speaker 1: or two? No, I I think you think uh Dibantsa
- 23:17Speaker 1: was the was the first round, it was the first pick,
- 23:20Speaker 1: should have been the first pick. Yes.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I also think Boozer will be the worst of those
- 23:23Speaker 2: three by off a long shot. Wow, I think he's
- 23:26Speaker 2: already hit a ceiling. I don't think he can improve much.
- 23:28Speaker 1: That kind of the same way. I mean, he's just
- 23:30Speaker 1: been kind of overrated.
- 23:31Speaker 3: I think he'll be a good NA player, but I
- 23:33Speaker 3: don't think he'll be a great player.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I think he'll be an okay is what. I think
- 23:37Speaker 1: he'll be an okay player. But it's it's always the
- 23:40Speaker 1: players that you don't count on it. Like Shay Gilges Alexander,
- 23:44Speaker 1: I never expected him to be the player that he
- 23:47Speaker 1: is today. I just didn't. I thought he would have
- 23:50Speaker 1: a a okay career, and he's been a just a
- 23:53Speaker 1: dominant force. As much as you disliked him, you gotta
- 23:56Speaker 1: admit he's been a wild success.
- 23:58Speaker 3: He's the best, the best score in the NBA.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that's enough. That's all you need to say.
- 24:03Speaker 1: You don't need to see anything else. Leave it there,
- 24:06Speaker 1: all right, we gotta take a break. Yeah, thank you.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I appreciate that. I like him. Okay, quit making fun
- 24:12Speaker 1: of him. I know he frustrates you. But five O
- 24:14Speaker 1: two three eight four fourteen fifty. You want to call
- 24:16Speaker 1: in five O two four one four fourteen fifty, you
- 24:19Speaker 1: want to text in on the Whiskey Feeflown text line,
- 24:21Speaker 1: or you can tweet me at just a cat rails.
- 24:22Speaker 1: They're right there.
- 24:23Speaker 4: A lot more Justicat's coming right up.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I'll have to say, as far as eighties, nineties women singers.
- 25:00Speaker 1: He was one of my favorites. Whitney Houston. Absolutely, she
- 25:05Speaker 1: and bar None. You'll never be able to convince me
- 25:09Speaker 1: anybody else did the greatest national anthem before a Super
- 25:13Speaker 1: Bowl in my lifetime. She was by far the greatest
- 25:17Speaker 1: of them all. And she did it. It was in
- 25:20Speaker 1: Tampa at the Buck Stadium where she sang it. It
- 25:24Speaker 1: was trying to think what year it was, like eighty five,
- 25:29Speaker 1: eighty six, something like that. It was just amazing. Bar
- 25:33Speaker 1: Nune and then I don't know if it was a
- 25:36Speaker 1: good thing she married Bobby Brown or not, but just
- 25:39Speaker 1: a shame that she's no longer with us. And I
- 25:41Speaker 1: loved Whitney Houston. I mean, man, I always thought she
- 25:44Speaker 1: was one of the most pretty beautiful women in the world.
- 25:46Speaker 1: She's pretty, Yeah she was, Oh she was, Oh absolutely
- 25:50Speaker 1: she was beautiful. I loved her.
- 25:51Speaker 3: She did it in nineteen ninety one.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Was it ninety one? Wow?
- 25:55Speaker 2: Unless that's maybe more than the other one. But she
- 25:57Speaker 2: says the national anthem in nineteen.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Ninety one, Okay, I believe you. It must have been
- 26:01Speaker 1: ninety one. Then I was thinking it was earlier than that.
- 26:03Speaker 1: But you're listen, I trust your your investigation there and
- 26:07Speaker 1: looking it up on the computer.
- 26:09Speaker 3: But I trust I would trust Google AI.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you trust Google AI? Do you trust any
- 26:14Speaker 1: of the AI?
- 26:15Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 26:16Speaker 1: Are you using it more and more today?
- 26:19Speaker 3: I mean not anymore than I was using it before?
- 26:21Speaker 1: I guess really, so when it first came out, you
- 26:24Speaker 1: were using it pretty much on a regular basis.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Sometimes, Like I'm not one of those people who directly
- 26:29Speaker 2: when they have to look something up, goes to chat,
- 26:31Speaker 2: GBT or something like.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I still go to Google and look it up. A
- 26:34Speaker 1: lot of people use rock and especially on Twitter, asking
- 26:40Speaker 1: is this true. I like it when they do that. Now,
- 26:43Speaker 1: whether or not it's always true, I don't know. But
- 26:46Speaker 1: by the way, somebody was asking me the other day,
- 26:48Speaker 1: you and I were talking about it about accounts that
- 26:52Speaker 1: I have become addicted to on TikTok or social media. Yeah,
- 26:56Speaker 1: there are two accounts that I'm absolutely addicted to. One.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I don't know where the guy lives. For some reason,
- 27:03Speaker 1: I would say he lives in Georgia. But he's a
- 27:05Speaker 1: guy that clearly is a greenskeeper as his full time job.
- 27:11Speaker 1: He has a yard that looks like a golf course.
- 27:15Speaker 1: So what he does is he always it seems like
- 27:17Speaker 1: he's got more rocks than anybody else out there in
- 27:20Speaker 1: the world in his yard, and he's always digging up
- 27:24Speaker 1: where the rocks out. Yes, you know who I'm talking about.
- 27:27Speaker 3: I've seen this guy. This guy. I dislike this guy.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Oh you do. Why do you dislike him?
- 27:31Speaker 3: I think this is the fakeust videos.
- 27:34Speaker 1: It is. This dude has like eight thousand boulders in
- 27:38Speaker 1: his yard. Yes, he exactly, exactly.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I get some of them are other people hiring him
- 27:42Speaker 2: to remove theirs, yes, but most like ninety percent of
- 27:46Speaker 2: videos are clearing this new rock out in my yard. Dude,
- 27:48Speaker 2: you put that there. You've been doing that for five years.
- 27:54Speaker 2: You were built on a cement pavement apparently.
- 27:57Speaker 1: But does he shame all his neighbor's yard by the
- 27:59Speaker 1: way his his yard looks, because his yard looks amazing.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I mean, I just I love it, all right. So
- 28:06Speaker 1: that's the first one that I've gotten absolutely addicted to you.
- 28:09Speaker 1: The second one I didn't realize. This guy is in Louisville.
- 28:16Speaker 1: It's the hat maker. And I mean, so he's got
- 28:20Speaker 1: a place it's called Wild Hat down in Nulu. I
- 28:24Speaker 1: believe it's off market, and I have gotten so addicted
- 28:28Speaker 1: and in this guy. I mean, to me, he is
- 28:31Speaker 1: the ultimate of cool. He wears his cowboy hat and
- 28:35Speaker 1: in his trademark I think for his hats is that
- 28:38Speaker 1: he puts a gold nail into every one of his hats.
- 28:42Speaker 1: And you can see him. He's got almost a million followers.
- 28:46Speaker 1: And if you haven't seen Wild Hat, go look him up.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I'm not kidding. This guy is the coolest of all
- 28:53Speaker 1: cool and to watch him make a hat is just
- 28:57Speaker 1: absolutely mesmerizing to me. And it's I've never watched anybody
- 29:02Speaker 1: make a hat and it's just like, this guy's this
- 29:05Speaker 1: dude's cool. I mean, I I'd love I'd love to
- 29:08Speaker 1: have if anybody knows that guy down there, I don't
- 29:10Speaker 1: know his name, I would love for him to come
- 29:13Speaker 1: on this radio show and I would love to talk
- 29:15Speaker 1: to him about making the hats. Have you seen his videos? Yes?
- 29:21Speaker 1: I like his videos? Okay, so you like him? And
- 29:24Speaker 1: is he cool? Is as cool as I'm making him
- 29:26Speaker 1: out to be? I mean, he seems like a pretty
- 29:27Speaker 1: cool dude.
- 29:28Speaker 2: I like him because I just like it gives me
- 29:31Speaker 2: the same vibes when I was a kid and I
- 29:32Speaker 2: would watch like how it's made.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yes. Oh that's a great one.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Yes, Like I never really thought how cowboy hats and
- 29:39Speaker 2: stuff like that were made. And this dude makes him.
- 29:41Speaker 2: He doesn't just make those and he's like gunslinger hats
- 29:43Speaker 2: and stuff like that. He makes all kinds of stuff
- 29:45Speaker 2: and it's like super specifically fitted to where your head is, right, so,
- 29:48Speaker 2: and he goes like super in depth in detail on
- 29:51Speaker 2: how he makes it. Yes, So it's for me, it's
- 29:53Speaker 2: like a it's like a what's the word. It's like
- 30:00Speaker 2: pleasing to watch.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Very much so because you know, when you're a guy
- 30:05Speaker 1: that is wearing the wild cowboy hat that goes way up,
- 30:09Speaker 1: the brims go way up, and he's wearing this really
- 30:12Speaker 1: nice jacket and then underneath he's wearing a an undershirt.
- 30:18Speaker 1: What do you call him? I don't want to call
- 30:20Speaker 1: him a wife beater, but that's basically what it is.
- 30:23Speaker 1: How is it a tank top? Okay, you know you're
- 30:27Speaker 1: cool and you got a big buckle and blue jeans.
- 30:29Speaker 1: You know where you are cool? And he fits the
- 30:32Speaker 1: part perfectly. I mean, I just and to hear him
- 30:35Speaker 1: talking and watch his hand gesture, the way he uses
- 30:38Speaker 1: his hands, and then he flips that hat around, and
- 30:41Speaker 1: then when he stops it, it's perfectly centered right in
- 30:45Speaker 1: front of the camera. I could watch him for hours
- 30:48Speaker 1: on end, and I am probably just I don't know,
- 30:54Speaker 1: I just I think he's cool. I'd like to meet
- 30:57Speaker 1: the guy. I should probably just drive down there and
- 30:59Speaker 1: go meet hi.
- 31:00Speaker 2: You probably could, Yeah, you could probably just say hey,
- 31:02Speaker 2: I'm Michael Benn and I don't have a radio show.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Would you like to come on?
- 31:05Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 31:05Speaker 3: For sure.
- 31:06Speaker 1: That's kind of creepy, isn't it. It's like, hey, man,
- 31:09Speaker 1: I watch.
- 31:09Speaker 2: You all the time, hopefully puts the videos out on
- 31:13Speaker 2: The popular social networking out on the planet.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Is is TikTok the most popular.
- 31:18Speaker 3: In terms of like short form content?
- 31:20Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 31:21Speaker 2: Yes, My favorite TikTok account is this guy who he's uh,
- 31:25Speaker 2: he's English. Yes, his name is Jensen Aliandrew. Okay, what
- 31:30Speaker 2: wait that doesn't sound very British. Well he's he's like
- 31:34Speaker 2: he lives in England, but his family is of other descents.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Okay, got it.
- 31:39Speaker 2: But he you know, he loves soccer. So what his
- 31:42Speaker 2: whole TikTok account is? He goes to like ninth division games? Like,
- 31:48Speaker 2: is there so many soccer leagues?
- 31:49Speaker 1: I don't know what that means is that like when
- 31:51Speaker 1: like the.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Premier League is the best and there's the championship, then
- 31:54Speaker 2: there's the National League and there's Division one.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Okay, it's really bad.
- 31:58Speaker 2: It's like if you if you me Justin and Mike
- 32:02Speaker 2: rutherp decided to buy a team, we can go buy
- 32:04Speaker 2: it for like thirty thousand.
- 32:05Speaker 1: I like that idea, we should.
- 32:07Speaker 2: But what he does is he goes to their games, yea,
- 32:10Speaker 2: and he every time he goes, he goes to the
- 32:12Speaker 2: new like their stadium. He goes and buys a hamburger,
- 32:15Speaker 2: and he buys a beer. He tries their food, and
- 32:18Speaker 2: he watches like the their play, and he goes and
- 32:21Speaker 2: gets instants in there like little bity fans.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Section acts like he's been there forever. And the point
- 32:25Speaker 1: of him is he's giving.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Like everybody that what it feels like to play, like
- 32:29Speaker 2: to go watch an England Division eighteen because people don't
- 32:32Speaker 2: do that. And and I've watched him forever, but now
- 32:35Speaker 2: he's in America for the World Cup, so he's doing
- 32:38Speaker 2: he's like he's like I'm Jenson nan Andrew here going
- 32:40Speaker 2: to watch the New York Yankees play, and he's doing
- 32:43Speaker 2: the same thing, but it like the major sporting events,
- 32:46Speaker 2: and it's it's so entertaining to watch because he interacts
- 32:49Speaker 2: with all the employees, interacts with other people.
- 32:51Speaker 3: It's a fun watch.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, there's one third one I'm gonna mention, and
- 32:55Speaker 1: it's a guy in India. Have you seen the guy
- 32:59Speaker 1: in India? That's it's uh Indian style crisscross apple sauce,
- 33:03Speaker 1: and he's making this food that looks absolutely disgusting.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I purposefully do not watch videos.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I now want to go to India and see this
- 33:16Speaker 1: in the opposite. I don't know what the food is.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Listen, social media has made me want to.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I never really want, had any inkling to go to
- 33:25Speaker 2: India anyway has made it even worse. Dudes stopping on
- 33:33Speaker 2: the meat with their feet. I'm like, yeah, I'm good.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Man wiser everywhere. Oh yeah, they just handle everything with
- 33:40Speaker 1: their hands. You don't know if that hand's been washed
- 33:43Speaker 1: or not. I love Indian food. It's delicious. Yes, I
- 33:45Speaker 1: do too. I don't need to try from the source,
- 33:48Speaker 1: but I thought that was funny. All right, let's talk
- 33:51Speaker 1: about MIKEL. Brown. Uh. All right, here's the part that
- 33:55Speaker 1: everybody's been talking about Mikel Brown. Uh, what's going on
- 33:59Speaker 1: but between him and Pat Kelsey because he did not
- 34:02Speaker 1: you know, you get nine seats for every one that's
- 34:06Speaker 1: invited as the first rounders, you know, the top ones
- 34:10Speaker 1: draft picks, and Mikel Brown did not include Pat Kelsey.
- 34:16Speaker 1: And everybody's talking about this. I want your perspective, Matthew.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Do you think this was a really bad looking kind
- 34:22Speaker 1: of tells you everything you need to know about the
- 34:25Speaker 1: relationship between Michael Brown and Pat Kelsey. Or did he
- 34:29Speaker 1: genuinely he just wanted to invite more family than he
- 34:34Speaker 1: wanted to invite his own coach.
- 34:35Speaker 2: So I think it's a bad look, and I want
- 34:39Speaker 2: to preface that I don't think it's Mikeel's fault. I
- 34:44Speaker 2: think it's his dad. I think his dad is the
- 34:46Speaker 2: one with the problem. His dad is the one who
- 34:48Speaker 2: sparked up all the issues at U of Light. Pat
- 34:50Speaker 2: Kelsey constantly, every single time he was asked by Mikel
- 34:54Speaker 2: he talked about him glowingly.
- 34:55Speaker 3: He said he loves the kid.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Michael Brown did the same thing to Pat Kelsey, say
- 34:58Speaker 2: he loved playing UNDERMI, loved the system, he loved getting
- 35:01Speaker 2: coached by him. But every time there was an issue,
- 35:04Speaker 2: it was it was leaks about his dad, It was
- 35:06Speaker 2: dad going to Twitter and talking with little fans.
- 35:08Speaker 3: It was all this stuff.
- 35:09Speaker 2: And then last night, I mean, like Pat Kelsey doesn't
- 35:12Speaker 2: even issue a statement about Mikel and oh last.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Night he didn't even say anything. That's what I think.
- 35:18Speaker 1: That's a bad look on Pat Kelsey. I didn't look
- 35:21Speaker 1: into it.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's what somebody had reached out to me
- 35:24Speaker 2: and said, which was upsetting to me because I think
- 35:26Speaker 2: it is a bad look. But it gives like this
- 35:30Speaker 2: whole situation gives off his dad is stepping in again
- 35:35Speaker 2: because he's not the whole Do I know that for sure? No,
- 35:38Speaker 2: maybe Michel told Pat Kelsey himself he didn't want him
- 35:40Speaker 2: to come. But throughout this entire process, it's been his
- 35:43Speaker 2: dad at the forefront really, and they too have definite
- 35:46Speaker 2: each other, like Mikel and Pat Kelsey had definite each
- 35:48Speaker 2: other this whole time. So it just it would give
- 35:51Speaker 2: me a weird feeling if that just stopped, now, you
- 35:54Speaker 2: know what I mean. So I'm taking it with the
- 35:55Speaker 2: benefit like with a grain of salt, with the given
- 35:57Speaker 2: the benefit of doubt. I just I said him before
- 36:01Speaker 2: I feel like Mike kell is going to his career.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I mean, he's he's a good enough player that I
- 36:08Speaker 2: don't think it's going to hinder his career anyway.
- 36:10Speaker 1: No, I don't think he does his. But I think
- 36:11Speaker 1: it's a bad look on Pat Kelsey more than is
- 36:13Speaker 1: in Mikel Brown.
- 36:14Speaker 2: At some point, if I'm Mikel Brown Junior, I need
- 36:17Speaker 2: to say to my dad, Hey, shut up. I appreciate
- 36:21Speaker 2: what you've done for me. You've helped me get here.
- 36:23Speaker 2: I obviously couldn't do this without you. Right now, it's
- 36:26Speaker 2: my career. You need to go take a back seat.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And that's hard for parents. I mean some
- 36:31Speaker 1: parents are out there they want to be involved with
- 36:33Speaker 1: their child the entire time, protect him, and you know
- 36:37Speaker 1: what it's that will hurt him if that happened.
- 36:40Speaker 3: I and I get that.
- 36:41Speaker 2: You know, if I'm eighteen years old and I'm going
- 36:43Speaker 2: to the NBA my dad's I want my dad right
- 36:45Speaker 2: there with me the whole ride, right, But I also
- 36:47Speaker 2: need to understand that, like, if I'm going to handle
- 36:49Speaker 2: all this money, I'm going to get all this stuff,
- 36:51Speaker 2: I need to be an adult and have an adult
- 36:53Speaker 2: to adult conversation with my father. Yeah, and maybe now,
- 36:56Speaker 2: like is that maybe that's not going on at all.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Maybe this was genuine only a Pat Kelcey and Mikeel
- 37:01Speaker 2: Brown were saying, Hey, look Tom at UFL's over. We
- 37:04Speaker 2: shook hands. It was a business meeting and it's over.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Maybe that's what happened. But I'm just saying that from
- 37:09Speaker 2: every other standpoint, this was the problem.
- 37:12Speaker 3: It wouldn't be surprising to me if it was.
- 37:14Speaker 1: The same thing. Yeah, that's that's too bad. But I
- 37:16Speaker 1: still feel like, no matter what, Patt Kelsey was handling
- 37:19Speaker 1: it really well up until you just told me what
- 37:22Speaker 1: you did. And since he didn't respond congratulating anything, that's
- 37:26Speaker 1: that's on Pat Kelsey right there. He should have said something,
- 37:30Speaker 1: because uh, it doesn't matter if the dad was the
- 37:33Speaker 1: son was I do you feel like he really had
- 37:35Speaker 1: a back injury or do you feel like no he didn't, Yeah,
- 37:40Speaker 1: we was. He just quit.
- 37:41Speaker 2: We saw that as soon as the season was over
- 37:44Speaker 2: and he went to all of the NBA workouts and
- 37:47Speaker 2: all the Mize scouts were like, oh my gosh, this
- 37:49Speaker 2: dude's ridiculous, and he could jump out the gym. He's
- 37:51Speaker 2: the fastest dude in the draft. I was like, well,
- 37:54Speaker 2: now that I had defended MIKEL Brown all season, Like, yeah,
- 37:58Speaker 2: I was frustrated with him, but but I lost respect
- 38:01Speaker 2: for him watching those workouts because at the same time
- 38:04Speaker 2: you wint the NCAA tournament, you saw your team, you know,
- 38:08Speaker 2: handle USF go into a game against Michigan State, which
- 38:12Speaker 2: was easy, easily winnable.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Michigan State didn't play well.
- 38:16Speaker 2: LOISO was playing up to their competition, and you could
- 38:19Speaker 2: have said, Dad, you know what, even if you don't
- 38:21Speaker 2: want me to play, my team is out here that
- 38:24Speaker 2: you know they're coming down the stretch they need me,
- 38:26Speaker 2: and you sat back and watched them lose.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I can't respect that. That's what worries me the most
- 38:30Speaker 1: about college athletics because you're gonna have you're gonna have
- 38:33Speaker 1: players out there that are gonna quit on your team
- 38:36Speaker 1: because they want to protect themselves. And that's what something
- 38:39Speaker 1: needs to change. The Players Union in the NBA has
- 38:41Speaker 1: to say, Okay, let's let these players if they're good
- 38:44Speaker 1: enough to come to h the NBA at a high school,
- 38:49Speaker 1: let them. If they're not, then they need to go
- 38:51Speaker 1: to college for two or three years and they're required
- 38:55Speaker 1: to be in college for two or three years, just
- 38:57Speaker 1: like with baseball. Otherwise it's just gonna kill the sport
- 39:00Speaker 1: even worse. And it's already killing the sport. So anyway,
- 39:04Speaker 1: we gotta take another break when we come back. UK
- 39:07Speaker 1: and will Stein football man. This is a doozy right here.
- 39:12Speaker 1: I'm not sure Matthew's gonna like this one, but we'll
- 39:15Speaker 1: talk about as soon as we get back. It's a
- 39:17Speaker 1: fun one. Somebody's decommitted and they might flip to somebody
- 39:21Speaker 1: else say right there more just the cats coming right up?
- 39:49Speaker 1: Can we just play this longer? I love this song.
- 39:52Speaker 1: There is a documentary It's funny you play this that
- 39:56Speaker 1: I was watching a couple of nights ago about earth
- 39:59Speaker 1: Wind and Fire and Maurice White, who founded earth Wind
- 40:03Speaker 1: and Fire, the lead singer, and they one of the
- 40:06Speaker 1: questions they asked was where did the body A come from?
- 40:11Speaker 1: And you know that's where they're saying body I. I'm
- 40:14Speaker 1: not gonna sing it here, I'm terrible singer, but uh,
- 40:17Speaker 1: and they didn't have an answer. It just it just
- 40:20Speaker 1: came up. I there's when I hear earth Wind and Fire,
- 40:24Speaker 1: it makes me smile. And of course, you know the
- 40:28Speaker 1: funny part about that song right there that you just played, Matthew,
- 40:31Speaker 1: Uh twenty Oh what's it called September? Yes, it's about infidelity.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Did you know that?
- 40:37Speaker 3: I did not know that.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Yes, it's about cheating on your significant other. It's like
- 40:43Speaker 1: and most people didn't know that when this song was
- 40:45Speaker 1: so popular, and that's all it's a it's a great
- 40:48Speaker 1: documentary on HBO.
- 40:49Speaker 3: I mean, is it like ninety percent of music about
- 40:51Speaker 3: cheating on each other?
- 40:52Speaker 1: Is it really? I know country music is it's about
- 40:55Speaker 1: losing your dog, having a truck, your your wife, cheat
- 41:00Speaker 1: it on you, are or are being at the bar.
- 41:04Speaker 1: That those are the four things that country music about.
- 41:07Speaker 1: And I don't think it's about anything else. Those four
- 41:09Speaker 1: things rock it's about, I guess, cheating, it's about new love,
- 41:18Speaker 1: it's about what, I don't know, a special day. I
- 41:21Speaker 1: don't know. There's baseball ones.
- 41:23Speaker 2: I like, I mean, like, I feel like all some
- 41:27Speaker 2: of the most popular songs of the world was about
- 41:28Speaker 2: cheating on each other. Okay, is it really? Oh that's
- 41:31Speaker 2: terrible mister Bright's side. Oh yeah, mister Brightside. Uh what's
- 41:36Speaker 2: the uh, oh my gosh, the one song by Hinder
- 41:39Speaker 2: that everybody knows. Yeah, that song's about cheating on your girlfriend?
- 41:43Speaker 1: Is it really okay? Never mind me?
- 41:44Speaker 2: Yeah, he's talking about He's like, you're calling me on
- 41:46Speaker 2: the phone, my girlfriends in the other room.
- 41:49Speaker 3: It's like an opening line of the song.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Uh buzz texs it out five two, four one, fourteen
- 41:55Speaker 1: fifty on the Whiskey Thief text line. If Jade and
- 41:57Speaker 1: Q is healthy, he is what the Spurs need. I agree?
- 42:00Speaker 1: Is that true? Yeah?
- 42:02Speaker 2: They need somebody to help Luke Cornett and I think
- 42:05Speaker 2: like if Jake, you like Bus says healthy, he fits
- 42:07Speaker 2: that role perfectly.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Yeah. I heard you all talking about bald guys, and
- 42:11Speaker 1: I felt I should weigh in. Way back, You'll Brinner
- 42:15Speaker 1: shaved his head for a movie role and kept doing it.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I don't have the choice, that choice, You'll Brinner. You
- 42:22Speaker 1: don't even know who that is, do you no idea? Yeah? Uh?
- 42:25Speaker 1: He was in a play that turned into a movie
- 42:28Speaker 1: called The King, and I very very, very famous actor
- 42:34Speaker 1: mostly Broadway back in the I guess what sixties and seventies.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I mean, he was very You'll Brinner. I hadn't heard
- 42:41Speaker 1: that name in years.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Do people still go to plays anymore?
- 42:44Speaker 1: Right here? You're looking at the guy.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I love going to plays.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I do too.
- 42:47Speaker 3: I think it's fun. I'm not a musical guy.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Oh I am.
- 42:51Speaker 3: I don't like look you can this is my brain
- 42:56Speaker 3: rot us mush of a brain.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Take.
- 42:58Speaker 2: I don't like the music and the songs are good. Yeah,
- 43:02Speaker 2: I can't follow the story. I don't know what's going
- 43:04Speaker 2: on because I don't have time to process breaking down
- 43:07Speaker 2: the meaning of the songs and the lyrics. I just
- 43:09Speaker 2: want to watch the story unfold in a play. I'm
- 43:11Speaker 2: not I don't like musicals.
- 43:13Speaker 1: I do. I love musicals. That's all I want to see.
- 43:15Speaker 1: And here's the reason why. My parents always took me
- 43:18Speaker 1: to musicals, So therefore I fell in love with musicals.
- 43:22Speaker 1: My mom also took me to the ballet, also took
- 43:25Speaker 1: me to the opera. Can't stand the ballet, can't stand
- 43:28Speaker 1: the opera. I never understood what they were singing, and
- 43:32Speaker 1: I thought the coolest thing that they could have done
- 43:34Speaker 1: here at the Kentucky Center for of Performing Arts was
- 43:37Speaker 1: they put above the stage the close caption did so
- 43:44Speaker 1: you could read what they were singing about. Because it's
- 43:46Speaker 1: always in Italian. I have no idea what they're saying.
- 43:49Speaker 1: It's just like, yeah, thanks Mom, But so I have
- 43:52Speaker 1: to go again.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Last musical I ever went to and this is on me.
- 43:56Speaker 2: I was invited to go, it was it was already
- 43:58Speaker 2: paid for, so I was like, screw, I'll go to
- 44:00Speaker 2: a musical that's fine. I went and saw the color
- 44:02Speaker 2: purple terrible. That's why the one I didn't.
- 44:08Speaker 3: I didn't mind it.
- 44:08Speaker 1: I thought it was okay. I just hadn't I had
- 44:12Speaker 1: no idea what was going on.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to have my sister basically during the
- 44:15Speaker 2: intermissions break it down for me.
- 44:17Speaker 1: It was also like four hours. Yeah, it was the
- 44:20Speaker 1: longest musical I've ever seen that.
- 44:21Speaker 2: The songs were good, but I had no clue what
- 44:24Speaker 2: was going on and I had never seen the color
- 44:26Speaker 2: purple before. I didn't know what the story was about
- 44:28Speaker 2: at all. I was just invited to go. So when
- 44:31Speaker 2: I walked in there, I was like, everybody looked at me,
- 44:35Speaker 2: and I was like, oh wow, I'm really out of place. Yeah, uh, yeah,
- 44:41Speaker 2: I didn't like it. I thought it was good if
- 44:43Speaker 2: I didn't know what was going on at the time,
- 44:45Speaker 2: but I thought it was entertaining.
- 44:46Speaker 1: But my absolute favorite musical, do not go see and
- 44:50Speaker 1: let the movie ruin it? Go see the play Wicked.
- 44:54Speaker 1: I'm good. It's fantastic. I can't. I love Wicked. I
- 44:59Speaker 1: love fanom of the opera, and I love this other
- 45:03Speaker 1: musical called Rent. You would probably enjoy the play the
- 45:07Speaker 1: musical called Rent. The music is fantastic.
- 45:09Speaker 2: I okay, I just want I just want to there
- 45:12Speaker 2: you go. I just want to hear the story.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Be that closed minded? Okay, I don't like that closed minded.
- 45:17Speaker 2: I don't like whenever like I'm getting into the story.
- 45:19Speaker 2: The dialogue is really good, and then we.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Have to frolic and be and we don't seeing about
- 45:26Speaker 1: and stuff like that. We do, we don't.
- 45:28Speaker 3: If you like that thing, you like that, that's fine.
- 45:30Speaker 3: I don't. I hate it.
- 45:32Speaker 1: It's awful, no problem. Uh, it's okay. UK has most victories, second,
- 45:38Speaker 1: most n CUAA titles, most first round draft picks. Pretty cool.
- 45:41Speaker 1: That is pretty cool. I agree with you, Texter, it's
- 45:45Speaker 1: pretty cool. It's not awesome. I I I like the
- 45:50Speaker 1: fact that we have the most victories. I'm a little
- 45:54Speaker 1: worried that's gonna go away pretty soon.
- 45:56Speaker 2: The only the only thing is is like the most victories,
- 45:59Speaker 2: the NCAA titles, those are really cool. The point we
- 46:02Speaker 2: were making, was like, the first round draft picks are
- 46:04Speaker 2: just I don't care like other things. Yes, those are
- 46:08Speaker 2: things you can talk about and be proud of.
- 46:10Speaker 3: First round draft picks are just.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Like first round draft picks. And the amount of players
- 46:13Speaker 1: from my school in the NBA, I just don't care.
- 46:17Speaker 1: That to me was always embarrassing. You mean all those
- 46:20Speaker 1: players are playing in the NBA and they used to
- 46:22Speaker 1: play for your team, and you didn't win more titles
- 46:24Speaker 1: or you didn't get the final four more. You mean
- 46:26Speaker 1: you lost in the first and second round. That's embarrassing.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I love UK victories most victories, and I love having
- 46:35Speaker 1: the second most titles. You just said it right there, Matthew.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I agree, that's what I want. I want titles. I'm selfish,
- 46:41Speaker 1: I'm a UK fan. I want to win national championships. Okay,
- 46:45Speaker 1: we got to take a break. When we come back,
- 46:47Speaker 1: we're talking about soccer. Oh boy, my favorite segment is
- 46:51Speaker 1: with Matthew. Stay right there, second hour, Just Guy's coming up.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. All right now,
- 47:16Speaker 1: number two on this Wednesday. Uh, if you want to
- 47:18Speaker 1: call in five O, two, three and four fourteen fifty one,
- 47:20Speaker 1: text in on the Whiskey Thief text line. You can
- 47:22Speaker 1: do that at five O two four one four fourteen fifty. Uh.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Just to kind of reminder, Uh, I have to leave
- 47:29Speaker 1: tonight to fly out to spoke Can Is it Spokane
- 47:33Speaker 1: or Spokane? How do you say it?
- 47:36Speaker 3: I always pronounce the Spokane, but I don't even Spokaine.
- 47:38Speaker 1: I'm going to Spokane, Washington tonight. Uh and uh so
- 47:45Speaker 1: I'm going from there and then I'm going to some
- 47:48Speaker 1: little place called coor Dalene, Idaho. I think is what
- 47:53Speaker 1: it is? Coor Dalen.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Your guess is good.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I don't know, but uh, and it's it's not a
- 48:02Speaker 1: fun trip. But my that's where my wife's or my
- 48:06Speaker 1: what mother in law was from. So she passed away,
- 48:10Speaker 1: and so I've got the head out there for her
- 48:12Speaker 1: funeral and then i'll be back. So I'm gone Thursday
- 48:15Speaker 1: and Friday. I'll be back Sunday night, so I'll be
- 48:17Speaker 1: back here with you, Matthew on Monday. But the fun
- 48:21Speaker 1: part is I've got Van Hiles and Anthony White, former
- 48:24Speaker 1: UK football players that are going to be taking over.
- 48:27Speaker 1: They have a podcast and I'm sure they're going to
- 48:29Speaker 1: promote it called The Locker Room which is a lot
- 48:32Speaker 1: of fun. I've been on it a few times. Plus,
- 48:35Speaker 1: Anthony White is a part of the Sunday AM Sports
- 48:39Speaker 1: show that they have over in Lexington on one of
- 48:42Speaker 1: the stations over there, so in which I'm sure he'll
- 48:45Speaker 1: say something about that. So I'm looking forward to having
- 48:49Speaker 1: them fill in for me. They've done it in the
- 48:51Speaker 1: past and they do a great job, so I hope
- 48:53Speaker 1: you give them a listen, and and Matthew, you'll have
- 48:56Speaker 1: to help them as far as the text line, okay,
- 49:00Speaker 1: and so if people text in, I'm sure it'll be football, basketball.
- 49:04Speaker 1: They talk about everything. It's just because they're former UK
- 49:08Speaker 1: football players doesn't mean they only talk about UK football.
- 49:10Speaker 1: They talk about everything, so that that's gonna be the
- 49:13Speaker 1: fun part. And if you've never heard them before, go
- 49:15Speaker 1: listen to him. I'm not kidding. Anthony White is so
- 49:19Speaker 1: much fun and he had me on AM Sports and
- 49:23Speaker 1: Lexington I think it was a week ago Sunday and
- 49:26Speaker 1: he and I just had a blast doing the show together.
- 49:28Speaker 1: So anyway, give him a listen and I would appreciate that.
- 49:32Speaker 1: So they're good guys. One person said lips of an
- 49:36Speaker 1: Angel that was a song I was thinking of Is
- 49:39Speaker 1: that all? Is that it? That's the song? Yes, Okay,
- 49:43Speaker 1: I get it. I don't think i've ever heard that song.
- 49:46Speaker 1: You've heard that song I have? Yes, okay, the only
- 49:50Speaker 1: Hinder song I know of. Okay, Josh text it out.
- 49:53Speaker 1: I think some plays are dope. Wicked and Lion King
- 49:58Speaker 1: are really good. I'm surprised this is coming from Josh.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I did The Nutcracker two, but I think it's just
- 50:05Speaker 1: because of nostalgia from all the field trips there as
- 50:09Speaker 1: a kid. Yeah, and not only that, but watching my
- 50:13Speaker 1: kids grow up. My wife, who was a ballerina back
- 50:18Speaker 1: in the day, she she like wanted to take the
- 50:21Speaker 1: boys to see The Nutcracker. One loved it, one hated it,
- 50:25Speaker 1: and I just tolerated. But I want to be my family.
- 50:28Speaker 1: It's a Christmas thing. So yeah.
- 50:29Speaker 2: My favorite was in my high school, every freshman class
- 50:32Speaker 2: got to go see Dracula at Actress Theater. Oh really,
- 50:35Speaker 2: I love that play, did you really? I saw it,
- 50:38Speaker 2: Like I went to high school for four years. Obviously
- 50:41Speaker 2: saw it four times because I found my way into it,
- 50:43Speaker 2: Like I was an aide for a freshman class, and
- 50:45Speaker 2: I purposely chose to go see it again every year.
- 50:47Speaker 1: John said Coldplay concerts are about cheating on your spouse?
- 50:53Speaker 4: Is it?
- 50:53Speaker 1: Really?
- 50:54Speaker 3: It's everything?
- 50:55Speaker 1: That's every I didn't realize every song was about cheating
- 50:58Speaker 1: on your significant other.
- 51:00Speaker 3: That's it's not.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, Okay that that kind of puts it downer
- 51:06Speaker 1: on every Coldplay song I ever listened to. I love Coldplay.
- 51:11Speaker 1: One of my probably favorites is Yellow. I mean there's
- 51:15Speaker 1: a bunch of Coldplay songs I absolutely love. I love Yellow.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Do you have a cold Play song you like?
- 51:22Speaker 2: I couldn't think of any of the names. Okay, I mean, like,
- 51:24Speaker 2: I've heard a bunch of Coldplay songs. I'm just not
- 51:26Speaker 2: go with song names.
- 51:27Speaker 1: John said. Also said Grease is a good musical. Have
- 51:30Speaker 1: you seen the play Grease? Never seen it? Okay, I've
- 51:33Speaker 1: never seen the movies either. Yeah, the movie was John
- 51:36Speaker 1: Travolta and Olivia Newton. John, I know my mom and
- 51:39Speaker 1: sister loved musicals growing up.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Their face they loved I mean my mom and sister
- 51:43Speaker 2: to probably watch Hairspray like eight thousand times.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Really listen to this. Buzz texted and said, Michael, I
- 51:51Speaker 1: know someone who lives in Cold Delene. They pronounce it Cordioline,
- 51:58Speaker 1: chord cord lean in Okay, I'm going to butcher it
- 52:03Speaker 1: and Spokkane the most pronounced it spoke can Okay, Spokane,
- 52:09Speaker 1: Washington and courtly in there we go. I'll get it
- 52:12Speaker 1: right and by the time I'm gone, I'll probably have
- 52:14Speaker 1: it correct and it won't matter anymore. But I'm cool.
- 52:17Speaker 1: It's pretty cool. You know somebody there buzz, So if
- 52:19Speaker 1: you need me to go say hello to him, I will.
- 52:22Speaker 1: But uh, anyway, Yeah, it's supposed to be a beautiful place.
- 52:25Speaker 1: We're gonna play golf Friday, no Thursday, and they have it.
- 52:29Speaker 1: What thanks for the invite? You want to go to
- 52:33Speaker 1: my mother in law's funeral? Is that what you want
- 52:34Speaker 1: to do for playing golf? Oh? Come on, I'm not paying,
- 52:38Speaker 1: all right if you want to. If you want to
- 52:39Speaker 1: pay to fly out there, you're in a car. I'll
- 52:43Speaker 1: be glad to pay for golf.
- 52:44Speaker 3: This this is what this is.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Remember this is the guy who you know he thought
- 52:47Speaker 2: he deserved breakfast this morning. I deserve breakfast at least
- 52:51Speaker 2: the same same guy.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Okay, whatever, you know, that's a little different. You're a jerk.
- 52:57Speaker 1: But the golf course has a green that is loading
- 53:00Speaker 1: on a lake and they move it every day to
- 53:03Speaker 1: a just the length of the par three. I thought
- 53:06Speaker 1: that was pretty cool. Am I making myself clear? Okay?
- 53:11Speaker 1: I just wanted to make.
- 53:12Speaker 3: Sure you understand what you're putting down.
- 53:14Speaker 1: All right, good, all right, Well, uh let's see here.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Michelle said, Uh, Book of Mormon is good. I've heard
- 53:22Speaker 1: that's really good. I my wife saw it. That's the
- 53:26Speaker 1: one by Seth MacFarlane. Right, Yes, my wife saw it
- 53:29Speaker 1: and said it was absolutely hilarious. I've never seen it,
- 53:32Speaker 1: and I'd like to see it.
- 53:35Speaker 3: There was also one by the people who made South Park.
- 53:38Speaker 1: I believe it is. That's the same thing. That's the
- 53:40Speaker 1: Book of Mormon.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah, I thought it was my step my
- 53:43Speaker 3: fall me Memorrong.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh. Did we talk about this last week?
- 53:48Speaker 5: Uh?
- 53:49Speaker 1: Somebody texted and let me see who this was? Eighty
- 53:52Speaker 1: five year old man arrested after allegedly street racing his
- 53:55Speaker 1: Nissan three P fifty Z against the Corvette. Did we
- 54:00Speaker 1: talk about that last week? And that's Ohio, guys didn't
- 54:02Speaker 1: that in?
- 54:02Speaker 4: Maybe?
- 54:03Speaker 1: I think we did, And that is a true story.
- 54:07Speaker 1: It happened in Florida, I think around the Tampa area,
- 54:10Speaker 1: and I remember when it happened, and they went to
- 54:14Speaker 1: the gentleman to talk to him about it. Says, well,
- 54:17Speaker 1: he's the corvette swerved on me. I couldn't let him
- 54:20Speaker 1: just swerve in on me. I had to chase him down.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Okay, this also this says police say, the octogenarian.
- 54:27Speaker 1: What does that word mean? I have no idea what
- 54:29Speaker 1: octogenarian is.
- 54:31Speaker 2: The octogenarian was clocked at one and ten miles probably,
- 54:34Speaker 2: I mean, I guess that is another word for the car.
- 54:37Speaker 2: But what is I'm looking this up. Well, octo is eight, yes,
- 54:41Speaker 2: I know that. Okay, I don't know.
- 54:43Speaker 3: I'm just not understanding that what this word means total.
- 54:46Speaker 1: I have no idea, but I mean that was a
- 54:49Speaker 1: great story. By the way, thank you for sending me
- 54:51Speaker 1: me that in Ohio. Guys.
- 54:53Speaker 2: So all right, an octogenarian is a person who is
- 54:58Speaker 2: between the ages of eighty and eighty nine. I have
- 55:00Speaker 2: never heard that. That is a very Wow. There's octogenarian. Okay,
- 55:05Speaker 2: this one's funny.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Yes, sexagenarian that's the sixties, septu genarian is the seventies,
- 55:11Speaker 1: nonagenarians nineties, and centenarian is one hundreds. Wow. I'm about
- 55:17Speaker 1: to use this word every day? Are you really?
- 55:19Speaker 3: I'm about to blow some people's minds when I get
- 55:21Speaker 3: what I get.
- 55:21Speaker 1: You talk to your grandparents.
- 55:23Speaker 3: I will.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't wait to be a sexagenarian. That's a
- 55:26Speaker 2: joke in itself.
- 55:29Speaker 1: They'll look at you and say you're being filthy. You
- 55:32Speaker 1: better watch out. They might wipe you across the face
- 55:33Speaker 1: for saying something like that. All right, Uh, since I'm
- 55:36Speaker 1: gone Thursday and Friday, when does Team USA? And my
- 55:39Speaker 1: favorite segment it has to go today? But when does
- 55:42Speaker 1: Team USA play next?
- 55:44Speaker 3: They should play tomorrow's.
- 55:46Speaker 1: Oh so we're not that terribly early anyway.
- 55:48Speaker 2: No, yeah, it should be tomorrow. Let me double check
- 55:50Speaker 2: before I okay that all right? Yeah, they play tomorrow
- 55:54Speaker 2: at ten pm. Okay, so they play against Turkey A
- 55:57Speaker 2: or Turkey Here we go again, Turkey A, depending on
- 56:00Speaker 2: how you want to find out.
- 56:01Speaker 1: I want to play Turkey B.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Okay, well you can play that team.
- 56:04Speaker 2: That's probably who they're going to put out there, because
- 56:06Speaker 2: that team is already eliminated from the tournament.
- 56:08Speaker 3: They're out, they're done.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Uh.
- 56:10Speaker 2: This is one where I can't really there's really nothing
- 56:14Speaker 2: to go into in this game and be honest with you.
- 56:16Speaker 2: You said they're playing the B players, Yes, because the
- 56:20Speaker 2: United States. Now that's not confirmed. We don't know what
- 56:22Speaker 2: the actual lineup looks like just yet. But yeah, the
- 56:25Speaker 2: United States has already locked up first place in their group,
- 56:28Speaker 2: so there's nothing to win for this game.
- 56:30Speaker 1: There's nothing to lose. Turkey or Turkey A is also
- 56:35Speaker 1: already eliminated, so there's nothing for them to play for it.
- 56:39Speaker 1: So it's just you have to play three games. That's
- 56:43Speaker 1: that's what it is.
- 56:44Speaker 2: So my guess is that you're going to see a
- 56:47Speaker 2: lot of players tomorrow for this game.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Maybe on both sides.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Just play some really really young guys who either early
- 56:57Speaker 2: in their career to get them experience in a World Cup, right,
- 57:00Speaker 2: or some older players that are on the bench who
- 57:03Speaker 2: never played in the World Cup before, you know, like
- 57:05Speaker 2: can give them the opportunity to say they took the
- 57:07Speaker 2: pitch in a World Cup, maybe scored, you know, I
- 57:08Speaker 2: mean all those things, just like a just for them, right,
- 57:11Speaker 2: You're gonna see some of that stuff. But there has
- 57:15Speaker 2: been some inkling that a lot of the starters want
- 57:18Speaker 2: to play in this game anyway, because the way the
- 57:20Speaker 2: World Cup works is like there's been talk of sitting
- 57:22Speaker 2: a lot of guys like Tyler Adams, Christian Polistic, Western McKinney,
- 57:25Speaker 2: all these guys who are you know, main starting eleven
- 57:28Speaker 2: players one for rest two. A lot of these guys
- 57:31Speaker 2: have yellow cards, and whenever you're in the tournament setting,
- 57:34Speaker 2: you get back to back yellow cards in games, you
- 57:36Speaker 2: get a one or two game suspension.
- 57:38Speaker 3: I can't remember exactly what it meant.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Oh so wait, when you get a card, you mean
- 57:42Speaker 1: that goes on with you to the next game as well.
- 57:45Speaker 2: Yes, Really, the difference in the World Cup is that
- 57:48Speaker 2: those cards only count for the group stage. The knockout
- 57:51Speaker 2: stage is completely different. It is you have a yellow
- 57:53Speaker 2: card in this game, it does not matter. So those
- 57:56Speaker 2: players are saying, look, the cards don't matter. I want
- 57:59Speaker 2: to play just so that I'm not get spending eleven
- 58:03Speaker 2: consecutive days not playing soccer right like they want to.
- 58:05Speaker 2: They want to play, they want to play in front
- 58:07Speaker 2: of their fans. So there's this constant debate of do
- 58:11Speaker 2: we rest them and be safe because dude can still
- 58:13Speaker 2: get hurt, or is it because you know there's a
- 58:16Speaker 2: whole week in between these games, is it worth letting
- 58:19Speaker 2: them play at least a half so that you know
- 58:22Speaker 2: they're not getting lazy sitting on the bench the whole time.
- 58:26Speaker 2: You know they're still getting game shape and all this stuff.
- 58:28Speaker 2: So there's a lot of discourse. But the guys want
- 58:30Speaker 2: to play. From what I've heard, multiple starters all say
- 58:33Speaker 2: they want to play. And the way I think it is,
- 58:34Speaker 2: I mean, if Rushio Pachatino is taking these guys into consideration,
- 58:38Speaker 2: he's gonna let him play.
- 58:40Speaker 3: Like he's gonna let these guys play.
- 58:41Speaker 2: He's gonna put it on them and say, look, if
- 58:43Speaker 2: you want me, if you want to play, and put
- 58:44Speaker 2: you out there, it's on you. Don't get a red card,
- 58:46Speaker 2: don't get yourself hurt. The game doesn't. That's the scariest thing.
- 58:50Speaker 2: This is one of the only times in sports and
- 58:53Speaker 2: ever I can literally look you in the face and say,
- 58:56Speaker 2: this game means literally, nothing means literally there's nothing you
- 59:00Speaker 2: can gain from it.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Yeah, to me, I'm sitting down all the players you
- 59:04Speaker 1: think are going to be playing.
- 59:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sitting them all.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Yes. I mean I might even bring fans down from
- 59:08Speaker 1: the stands. Hey, you want to play in a World
- 59:10Speaker 1: Cup game in Boom, just go have fun.
- 59:12Speaker 2: There's a lot of players who haven't gotten any play
- 59:15Speaker 2: yet who I'd like to see. I'd love to see
- 59:17Speaker 2: Gio Urina get to play in this game a lot
- 59:18Speaker 2: more he's played.
- 59:19Speaker 1: How do you know these guys and they don't even play.
- 59:22Speaker 1: I've watched them since I was a little kid. Wow,
- 59:24Speaker 1: that's impressive. Okay, I respect that.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Ji or Reina is really young. He plays out in
- 59:29Speaker 2: Germany right now. He played in the last World Cup.
- 59:31Speaker 2: A little bit more, not a lot, though, but he's
- 59:33Speaker 2: seen as like a really young prodigy talent who's had
- 59:37Speaker 2: some drama in his past with the hat with the
- 59:39Speaker 2: last coach, and it became a big news story of
- 59:42Speaker 2: him and the coach butted heads. The coach and his
- 59:45Speaker 2: dad and Jorana's dad played together when they were growing up.
- 59:47Speaker 2: There's a lot of drama back then. It turned it
- 59:49Speaker 2: was a big fallout and a big reason why he
- 59:51Speaker 2: got fired. But the new coach where Watchneil loves the kid,
- 59:55Speaker 2: but he's been out of playing shape for a while.
- 59:57Speaker 2: So this is one where a lot of US soccer
- 59:59Speaker 2: fans who all this team love Geo Rena and follow
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: this kid for his whole life, and we all want
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: to see him play, so I think he'll get some
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: good minutes of this game.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: I'll be excited to watch that.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: And so this game means nothing the United States. So
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: all the teams that the United States has in their
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: what is it called is division, their group, their group,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: they're all eliminated except for USA. Is that correct?
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: No, it's the top two teams move on and who's
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: the other team? So it's a tie right now between
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Paraguay and Australia, who play each other this week.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: They play tomorrow as well.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: They play at the same time the US does, So
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: whoever wins that game will move on. If they draw,
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: it comes down to gold differential, I believe, because there's
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: no head to head against each other. I believe Australia
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: would win that two because the United States beat Paraguay
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: four to one, So basically Paraguay has to win that
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: to move on. After that, it's the top two in
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: every group move on to the knockout stage, and the
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: eight best third place teams comes down to how many
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: goals would they scored, who's the talent they played against.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: We don't know who those teams are gonna be yet,
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: so there's a chance that a third place in this
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: team could make it, but guaranteed it'll be the US
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: and either Paragui or Australia be the.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Ones that move.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: And then where does us go from there?
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: They would play in they would play against a third
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: place team in another group, because, like I said before,
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: they got the first place in their group. So it's
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: like getting the one seed in NCAA tournament. You have Oh, okay,
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: you have the best possible route in the knockout stage.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: So people have put it together. It's going as of
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: right now.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: You could like go look up the brackets and they
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: constantly updated every single match and they show you what
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: team if it were to end right now, who they
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: play right now, it looks like we play Bosnia, which
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: is a fantastic draw. Really right now, if they were
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: to end the group stage right now, I could say
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: confidently that if the United States didn't make it least
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: the semi final of the World Cup, it would be
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: a major just appointment really because of the teams that
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: they are in their way.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: This can change literally every day. Yeah, but as if
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: it stopped right now, their route is insanely, insanely easy
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: because because because of how well they've done in the group.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: They've earned that. So it now, like I said, that
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: could change.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: A lot of guys could like European teams could lose
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: drop down, we play tougher opponents early on. But right
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: now it looks really, really good and it's got me
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: excited to move on.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: All right, So, uh, you know, there is a chance,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: let's talk about this for a minute, which evidently is
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: a big deal. I know, I don't know that it is,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: but I know you will. There is a chance that
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: there is a World Cup knockout quarter final potentially between
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Argentina and Portugal, which means that would be messy versus Ronaldo,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: and it could happen. Is this true? I don't know,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I haven't and it could happen at Arrowhead Stadium in
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: Kansas City, And so therefore people are predicting this is
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: going to happen, and the ticket prices, they say the
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: quarterfinal is going to be on July eleventh. The ticket
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: prices at Arrowhead Stadium for this quarterfinal game quarterfinal game
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: are going through the roof anywhere from forty eight hundred
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: dollars in the nosebleed to lower level over fifteen thousand dollars.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: How crazy, who has this money to go spend that?
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's the point where these are the two,
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: two of the greatest players to ever greate, are they.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Really I've heard of Messi, I don't know if I've
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: heard of Ronaldo. So the entire their entire careers have
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: been basically linked with each other. Yeah, they've been on
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: the so I told I talked to you before that.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Like Messi has won eight Ballandors, which is basically as
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: that balland Or is the European version of an MVP.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Okay, it's the best player in all of Europe. He's
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: won eight I think I think Ronaldo's won five. But
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: they have been in the finalists for that trophy together,
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: on the same stage as a finalist fifteen times.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: So like when you think of one, you think of
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: the other.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: It's all it's the entire They are the soccer version
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: of like Lebron versus Jordan, but they play in the
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: same era. They play against each other all the time. Yeah,
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: So that's been a blessing to watch if you're a
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: soccer fan. It's the It completely denies the whole Well,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: if Lebron played in that era, if Jordan played in
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: this air, this stuff. They played together. They've been on
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: the stage together forever. So if it came down to
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: they both got to play each other, they could price
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: those tickets at whatever they want. It would so sell
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: out because this this is both of their last World
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Cup ever to play it.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: Oh it is they will.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: MESSI I think is turning in during this World Cup
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: he'll turn thirty nine. Ronaldo's forty one.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Wow, they're up there in age. Then is that unusual
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: to be that old and still played in soccer?
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: I mean it's technically yes, like it's unusual to be
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: that old and play any sport. Right, But it's the
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: same thing as like these dudes and keep their body
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: in incredible shape. They've got it their whole lives. They
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: they could probably play for a couple more years that
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: they want, but they've they've both won everything. The only
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: thing Ronaldo doesn't have is a World Cup. That's the
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: only thing he doesn't have, so he's still playing. I
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: don't think he gets it. I think that Portugal team
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: is not what they should be. If Archie to play
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: it gets Portugal, they should beat them like three to one.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Oh really is ridiculous, right, because you know, the part
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: that has been probably more fun for me has been
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: the fans, not the games themselves. And I don't know
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: if because everybody's talking about how the fans are reacting.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Of course, you got the Irish that are Scottish that
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: are drinking out all the bars in Boston. I don't
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: know if you saw this video or not, but there
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: was a video of a Dutch fan that was carrying
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: twenty six individual pints from the bar over to their table.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Have you seen that video? He refused to use the
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: true right, so he took all the glasses, put them
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: together in the circle, he wrapped, He wrapped his arms
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: around him and carried them from the bar over to
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: the table where all his buddies are without spilling a
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: single glass.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: That's actually crazy.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: I thought it was awesome.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Have you seen the This was last week, but it
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: was when Japan was in Dallas. I did not see
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: this for their game, and they got there's a Japanese
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: fan who was in Arlington technically that's where the stadiums are, right,
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: but was interviewed by this Newslet I have the video
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: pulled up.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: I'll let you I let you listen to It's it's
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: like two minutes long.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Okay, but he's interviewed and she's asking them like these
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: really cool, these in depth questions about the team and
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: this this is his response.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Hilarious. My name is okay, yeah, my name is she
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: don't yeah yeah yeah. How excited are you? You were
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: so excited right Japan?
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Right? Uh excuse me, Okay, I to speak English, but.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: But I'm exciting. Yeah. Baby, Look, I'm just like, okay,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: what are we looking at?
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, he's written on the back of his jersey,
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: but like he can't speak English at all.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: He just walked into this interview just like just ah.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Love all right. You know who he reminds me of, uh,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: what's his name? Moon and their uh Moon Andori Kawasaki
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: that you played for the Blue Jays.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: I think I know what you're talking about.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, he's the guy that always did the uh
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: a monkey never craps. Oh and he's talking about cramps,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: not crap. Yeah, I know you're talking about that guy.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: You can go back and watch all of his interviews.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: He is so funny.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: That's who that guy. He reminds me of a monkey
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: never craps. The fan interactions have been so fun. Yeah,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: like there was uh what was South Korea was Bait
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: was playing their games in medic Mexico. They played one
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: in Guadalajara, they play one in Monterey, right, and uh
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: there is like videos of them like after the games
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: doing keg stands of tequila and Mexican bar quila. Yeah,
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: in Mexican bars and partying with all the like local
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Mexicans that It's been like it's one of those where
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: like I'm watching it. Yeah, I agree with you that, like, yeah,
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: I'm not even interested in some of the games. I
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: love watching the fans interact with the locals.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Well they had a video yesterday of evidently
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: a bunch of fans from friends and they were at
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: a bar and they started stomping on the uh, taking
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: their fists and hitting him on the bar, saying open
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: the bar, open the All these people want to drink.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: That's all they want to do do. They not want
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: to go out and eat and do something else. They
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: just want to drink. I've never seen a fan base
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: from any place that wants to drink as much as
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: these soccer fans want to drink.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: If you want a good laugh, go on social media
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: and go follow this guy name fred Yeah, he's he's German.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: It's like Freddy, It's like at Freddy seven something. I
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: forgot what his actual handle is. But he has documented
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: his entire trip across America during the World Cup and
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: he's like giving ratings on the restaurants he's going to.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: He's talking about all of the cities he's been. Last night,
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: he just went to Berlin, Ohio.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: This for Ohio guy, maybe Ohio. God knows where this is.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: Yeah, he said it's his favorite destination he's been in
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: America so far.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Why this man's Ohio.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: This man's been to New York. He's been to Miami,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: he's been to Alabama, He's been to all these places.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: He said, Berlin, Ohio is his favorite place he's been.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: And it's been so it's been hilarious to what he like,
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: tried waffle house for the first time. He got sent
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: to an Ella Langley concert for free. She reached out
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: to him, like he's becoming like an internet sensation. Who
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: is that Ella Langley?
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: The singer?
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: Oh yeah, country music singer, kind of an.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Unusual Uh No, that's somebody else.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: She's new, Like, well, she's not new, she's been around,
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: but she just got really popular. She did, but he
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: came out was like, I love La Langley. I think
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: she's she's amazing, and he's she sent them tickets to
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: go to their show on their trip.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: But you look him up.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: He's got little You can just look through all of
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: his pictures and stuff.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: They're hilarious. It's him interacting with people. It's a lot
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: of fun.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, cool, all right, we gotta take another. That's
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: my favorite segment. When the World Cup's over, I'm gonna
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: be so disappointed we don't have this. Well, wait, are
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: you going to be gone before the World Cup is over?
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: I will?
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Oh no, are you gonna have to phone it in?
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: I might have to have you phone this in.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Probably we can't finish because I'll have a job.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but we can't finish this without the World Cup
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: being done.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: We can't.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: It'll be I am just as sad as you because
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: I want to say, look, I know about to go
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: to break. This job is genuinely what I've dreamt of
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: doing my entire life. Like I love talking about sports,
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: I love talking with you, love joking on the radio.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I've always wanted to have a voice like I always
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: had it, so like I don't. My biggest fear about
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: moving is not the move, it's like, when am I
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: going to get to do this again? You know, Like
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: it's so hard to find a job in this field,
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: so you have to know, pople, we have to do
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: all this stuff. And you're right, I tried to pull
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: connections and stuff. So I'm hoping I get to do
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: it again.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I do too, because you're good at it, Matthew. I'm
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: gonna tell you right now.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: I appreciate because like the thing that makes me the
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: most sad is that I've waited, like I get to
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: do this at the perfect time and the sport that
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: I want on, the sports I love the most, and
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: you're I'm not.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: I don't get to finish it. It's upset. Okay, well
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: we might have to dial it in. Okay, you might
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: have to phone this in because we can't have this incomplete.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: We need to have Matthew Childress finish out the World Cup.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: We'll we'll figure it can do that, Okay, all right,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: then all right, that's that just sounds so final. I
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: hate that anyway, all right, h stay right there. We
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: got a couple more segments to go on this Wednesday.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: It's talk Cry.
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: You trying my cosen some some song always she was
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: I can't.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: Swee never really sounds so I have no idea who
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: this is. You've never heard the song. I've never heard
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: this song before.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: This is Lipts of an Angel by Hinder. It is okay,
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: I've never heard of Hinder.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: The song is literally about his like girlfriend being asleep,
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: his ex girlfriend calling him, and him talking about how
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: nice it feels to hear old girl calling him again.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: Oh boy, He's like, you have to keep it down.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: She's asleep literally in the next Wow. Yeah, because you
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: know one of them. My wife has told me this
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: that because she's heard it from a lot. She works
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: with a lot of divorce divorce lawyers. Uh and uh.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: One of the biggest stats is when Facebook came to be,
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: that's where most people go to reconnect with old flames
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: and they make sense. So and it has caused more
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: divorce than any other social media platform out there. That
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: surprised me. It's like, oh, this is not a good thing.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: So I've just always been a little leer of Facebook.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Plus the other part about Facebook, I can't stand it
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: seems like everybody gets on there and talks about politics
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: and how much they hate one side or the other.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: It's like, okay, I don't need that. I typically when
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: I see that, I typically block those people. So it's
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: like as soon as I see the hate stuff, it's like,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: nobody cares. You're the only one that cared about this.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Why are you posting for everybody to see? Now we
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: know what kind of person you are. I'm gonna block it.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: I don't get it. I really don't.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: This music video also has like gained a lot of
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: popularity recently because of the comment section in it, because
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: if you need to go and look at the music
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: video for this, it's so ridiculous, like this, I love
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: the song okay, but there's gonna be so ridiculous. He's
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: like answering the phone while his girlfriend's asleep next to him,
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: and like, I'll read you some of these really quick.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Okay, I'm ready.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: First one says, feel so bad for his dead girlfriend
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: over there on the bed because she's just asleep while
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: he's oh my god, he's just screaming on the phone
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: to this ex girlfriend about how much he misses her.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: He's like yelling and in the music he's screaming.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: And then this one says this, the funniest thing is
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: I've heard the song played at weddings.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: That's weird. Well, that's what the documentary was talking about
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: with Earth Wind and Fire September. Yeah, they were playing
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: people would play that at weddings and they didn't realize
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: that it was a about cheating on your wife. But
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: This one says Hinder on a phone call, I have
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: to whisper because I can't be too loud. And it
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: says Hinder on the same phone call, it's really good
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: to hear your voice screaming. And the last one here,
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: this one, I thought you would let this one make
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: you laugh. So they don't make Divorced Dad rock like
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: they used to.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. That's one of those things that there are.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: There are a very few out there. I see the clip,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: it's like, Okay, I don't have to finish this. I
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: want to go straight to the comments. And That's what
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I'll do, and I'll get entertained by the comments more
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: than I will buy the the video itself. Did you
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: see where Instagram is going to be doing a live
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: streaming platform? Now? I did not, Yes, So it's gonna
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: go on all the smart TVs on Samsung, It's gonna
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: be on Google, It's gonna be on all kinds of
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: stuff where you can just go get on your TV
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: sitting in your living room and get on Instagram now
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: to see all the live streaming comments or live streaming
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: videos and stuff. I don't know, are we going too far?
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: They're trying to compete with YouTube.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: I mean, everybody's gonna always compete with YouTube like that.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Is anybody gonna beat him as the thing? No, I
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: don't think so either.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: I mean it's it's just like it's all It's been
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: the dominant like content based platform ever since I've been alive,
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: for every agent room. I mean for like little kids
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: to teenagers, to young adults to older people, Like there's
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: YouTube videos for every single thing you could possibly imagine.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: It's one where YouTube's been around too long, nobody will
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: ever be able to compete.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: It's a monopoly.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: I don't think so either. I mean, it's it's I
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: think the funniest comment that always sticks in my head
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: is when Michael Scott said in the office, somebody needs
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: to call the producers that YouTube and come record this.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: I mean, I love that it always is stuck with me.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: It's like, dude, it's YouTube, you do it.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: I saw a video the other day of this guy
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: who it was like a step by step tutorial on
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: how to make your own streaming service really and not
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: the like not for you to sell, right, but it
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: was it kind of resonated with me because I like
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: I grew up in the era like when I was
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: a little kid of like burning CDs onto on like
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: you you know players like that. My dad showed me
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: how to that one as a kid, right, and don't
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: arrest my dad, you know you're do love the game.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: But this guy showed how you can get like a
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Blu ray reader, plug it up to your computer and
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: you can download your DVDs. And then he like built
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: that He used AI to build a software onto his
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: TV that literally made a streaming service.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Really shows it shows all of the actors in the movies.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: You can search by actors, you can search by genre,
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: you can search by if you've liked this movie, what
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: other movies does he have in his collect It's only
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: movies he has, Like, it's not you can't.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Like in that fascinating.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: He downloads all of his physical discs Yeah on his
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: TV and like it was like it was like a
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: two minute video. He's like, if you want to do it,
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: this is how you do it. I was like, wow,
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: it's really like it was something that I would never
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: do because why do I need that? But it was
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: one of those that like blew my mind of how
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: Like I was like, this is that easy? You could
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: do this to yourself.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Well, like, somebody asked me to send them an invoice
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: because they're going to buy part of a horse that
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: we own, and I'm like, ah, crap, man, I hate
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: working with EXCEL. I got to go do this, got
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: to make it look somewhat decent. And I think, no,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I'm not going to do that. I'm going to go
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: to AI, put all the information in and guess what,
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: Boom it came up with a receipt that looked fantastic. Yeah,
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: and I'm like, okay, I am so sold on AI.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: I know people that work in like in the office space,
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: you know, in like a very corporate office typewriting right,
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: they said, I literally haven't written an email in two.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: Years because AI responds for them.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they just send whatever their person who's emailing this
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: they send an AI and just like make me a
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: response with this answer and then just email it back.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Nobody cares. Wow. But but you know you can tell
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: AI though when it answers for you. I mean, yeah,
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: you can go look that stuff up. No, there is
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: a way you can tell. And this is a way,
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: especially on like Twitter. I kind of made fun of
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: UK for doing it. I felt like they got a
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: little lazy. If you see dashes, typically that means that
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: AI is answering or writing that. Yeah, you know what
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: I'm talking about. When you see it when I say
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: the dashes, Yeah, because when that you know a I
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: wrote it for him.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: Whenever I write articles, like I write the whole article out, yeah,
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: and then I'll put it through AI to like scan
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: for grammar and stuff.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Yeah that's perfect.
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: Yeah, and it'll try and like add that stuff and
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: you got to.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Take it out Otherwise people are gonna know that AI
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: wrote that or generated at the very least. So and
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: that's what you do, I assume. Yeah, so you knew
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: that as well. Uh. One, Ohila guy texted out, will
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: you go fishing with Mark Feu while you're in Spokane? No,
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: but I would like to meet Mark few I think
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: that listen. I love to fish, but I'm very I
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: like a typical type of fishing. I like to go
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: saltwater fishing, no offense to the guys out there to
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: do all the freshwater fishing. I love salt water. To me,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: that's more exciting. You're you're there's more action, there's bigger fish,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: there's all kinds of stuff. But never been deep sea fishing.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: I want to go, Oh it's it's there's nothing better
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: than deep sea fishing. I love it. I've tried freshwater
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: fishing once. I was just kind of bored. And now
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: that doesn't mean I wouldn't try it again. Maybe it
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: was just because I didn't know what I was doing,
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: and the guy I was with didn't know what he
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: was doing.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: The the funniest fishing story I have him on entire life.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: I used to go fishing a lot as a kids, Okay,
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: and I grew up with a pond behind my house.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: I grew up going to the lake all the time.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: I like that.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: My dad and I went to Florida one point.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and I really wanted to go fishing, like I
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: used to love going to fish, and he took me
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: to I forgot what I forgot what poor or maybe
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: it was destined, maybe I forgot where it was. But right,
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: he took me to the boardwalk. Yeah, and we fished
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: off the pier for like five hours one day.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: I caught nothing the whole time I was there, And like,
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: I'm a very patient person. I enjoy the whole relaxing
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: with a while fishing, talking to your friends. Listen, that's
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: the point is you're just there to relax. I'm fishing
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: the whole day. I watched this guy next to me
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: catch like a huge grouper, like he pulled a this
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: guy pulled a shark in at one point, he's catching
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: all this stuff. I'm literally like twenty feet away from
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: him with this fishing pole, catching nothing. I spend all day.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: I finally get something, and I'm like real in this thing.
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: And at this point I've been there long enough. The
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: people are crowding around me. They're like, this kid finally
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: caught something. It this thing might have been like six
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: inches long. Oh no, Like, and there's my dad took
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: this laughing at me and took this like hilarious picture
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: of me, like really sad with this.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: I don't have it, but he has it.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Of me holding this tiny tiny and in the background
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: you see this dude like take a picture of his
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: grouper that he just caught like five minutes ago.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: I wonder what the difference was.
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: He'd been doing it. I had this little bit fishing.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: I don't know, uh yeah, but like it was like
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: I still had a good time, Like I just like fishing.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: But it's it's the funniest picture. I've always wanted to
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: go fly fishing. That's the one thing that, uh, we
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: were going to try and do, and unfortunately it didn't
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: work out this trip. I'd like to go fly fishing
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: one time, just to it. It's like it seems like
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: I would really enjoy that. I don't even know what
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: is the difference, Like what is fly fishing. That's where you're, uh,
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: take the rod and you're going back and forth and
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: you're you're trying to catch the salmon. It's always in
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: like a stream or something like that. In salt water too,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: that makes sense. Yeah, And you're constantly moving the pole.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: It's flying in the air, and that's where a fly
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: comes down on the surface and the fish comes up
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: to the surface and gets it.
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks awesome. So yeah, there's a lot of
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: movement action and all kinds of stuff. That's because I
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: gotta stay busy. I mean, you know me, I'm always
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: talking with my hands. I gotta keep going. I got
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: that's my ADHD coming out.
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: I remember one time we went to we went to
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: del Hollow, went to the lake and my dad rented
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: a pontoon. We spent all day on the pontoon. Well,
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: I just wanted to fish, so I sat. We we
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: went into this little cove and I sat on the
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: back of the pontoon for like hours and hours just fishing,
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: you know, catch something, throw it back, catch, throw it back, whatever.
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: And I at.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: One point hadn't gotten a bite for like two or
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: three hours. We were about to eat, and my sisters
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: were really young at this point. They might have been
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: like six, like seven or eight, maybe they're really young,
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: and I like it'd been hours since I got anything.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: I finally get something.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: And this thing is is is big, like it's pulling,
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: like I had to have somebody, Like it almost pulled
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: me off the boat. Like whatever it was, it was
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: of some weight. Now I'm not I wasn't the biggest guy,
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: but like it was definitely something of size, and I
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: was super excited I was bringing in.
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: It took me like fifteen minutes to real this thing in.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: And then my sister comes over. I get in a position.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: I say, hey, just like it's right here. Just hold
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: it for a second. I'm gonna go get the net, right,
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna go pick it up right as I give
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: it to her.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: She's just trying to help. Was not her fault.
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: She yanked this fishing pole as hard as she can
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: trying to get in the boat.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: And I don't see it happen. I just hear it happen.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: Oh no, I hear this line snap so hard, and
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: she's just standing there, Lily, I'm watching the fish swim
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: away with the other end of thee. Whoa, I remember
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: my step mom, which was just her daughter. Yeah, who's
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: the one who was doing it.
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: Come over and console with me because I've been sitting
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: ever so long. Yeah, and be like she was just
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: trying to help. No, it wasn't her fault. I was like,
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: I know that was her fault.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: I was like, I know, it's my fault. It was
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: my fault for giving it to you. Well that's too.
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: Yeah, but like I remember how mad I was all day.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's terrible. All right, we got to take
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: our last break. If you want to text in on
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: this last segment, you better hurry five two four one
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: four four Team fifties stay right there, time and time, game.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: Sore, ice faster speak speA.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I love this song right here. What's the name
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: of this band? Creed? Creed, that's it. It's like a
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: twenty year old song in it that's old and they're
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: starting to come back. And the guy's voice, it's one
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: of those things. Some singers can keep their voice up
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: some time. I can't. This guy's sounds exactly the same
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: twenty years later. Creed I always thought was kind of underrated.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: I really, are you a Creed fan or no?
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: I mean, like I like some of the songs.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: I think they're great. I mean it's good music.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: This song gives me because like I listened to it
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: in the backseat of like the car when I was
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: growing up. Yeah, gives me Like I'm going on Saturday
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: to Low's with my dad ticking out some wallpaper.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Yeah, big day on Tech.
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: Gets some lumber or something, And my treat for that
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: was he got me some bug juice from the gas station.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Bug juices. You never had you never seen bug juice before, kids, Drake.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: They sell at every gas station. Really, I used to.
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: I used to drink the crap out of it.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Really.
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: It's probably the worst thing ever for you.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah, that was a big part of my life,
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: and I remember listening to this song all the time.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: I did.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Fun fact, when I went to Florida with Paulina to
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: look at apartments. So she had to go get her
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: background check done or her you know, for her job
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: for her hospital. Yeah, in the office we were in
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: the lady that took her background check. The very next room,
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: the guy who works in there is the flavor creator
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: for bug juice.
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: What.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: Yes, that guy whoever who? She's like, I've literally never
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: seen him. He never leaves with the room.
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: That's weird. So clearly he didn't make much money off
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: the bug juice flavor. He doesn't known the company, He
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: just makes the flavors. Wow. I was like, now he's
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: in a hospital trying to cure the people that drink
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: all that bug juice in the hospital. He just said,
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: it's a hospital.
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: Oh she was getting a back ars check.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: Oh, oh, okay, I'd assume it was at the hospital. Okay,
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: I got you. Four star wide receiver out of Fort Mitchell,
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: Kentucky up in Northern Kentucky Ruts side Sincinnna, Tyler Freman
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: has decommitted from the University of Lesville. Lots of buzz
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: about him possibly committing at UK. He's a number thirty
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: first player in the class of twenty seven and uh,
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: may things are quickly changing between this UK and U
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: of L rivalry because you know six players have committed
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: right now as it sits for twenty twenty seven from
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: the state of Kentucky. U of L has six players
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: ers from the state of Kentucky. Well they lost one now,
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: but what what?
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Uh?
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: How do you feel about this? Mister Matthew, isn't this
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: the baseball player? Yes?
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: If if will Son wants to put baseball player layers
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: on his fooball field, he's allowed.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: To do that. Oh, so you're not worry even though
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: he's like a fourth star wide receiver for football commit
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: to U L. You're not worried. You're a explanation why
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: he plays baseball. So it is now right starting quarterback
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: one day a Universe of Kentucky. Mike go to the
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: MLB draft. I don't think he's gonna go ahead and
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: go with it, but he's gonna come to UK and
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: become the start. So your response is, oh, he's a
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: baseball player. Look was your sounded just like Vince Merrill
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: right now? Is coming to Louisville to play baseball? Yes,
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: wasn't mean and football was? He was not gonna play
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: football here. Okay, that tells me all I need to know.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: That tells me all I need to know. Okay, all right,
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: if if Will Stin wants to put baseball players against
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: his biggest rival, I'm gonna let them. Okay, then when
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: you got some others on the list, if he wants
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: to grab him to uh, you just just watch out.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: Now you know. I am calling you the the Monday
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: after UK beat U of L and see if you
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: answer the phone. Okay, you're gonna come on the radio
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: with me. You remember this day. It is June twenty fourth,
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: and my, Michael bin are you're saying on the show
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: right now? They're gonna beat you off L this season.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: I'm seen there's gonna be a really good job at it. Yes,
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: I want to remind you, but you Michael yes, these
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: are recruits in future. I know know they are.
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: I know this class, I.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: Know that I just said twenty twenty stay SiO, just.
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: Saying that phone call might take a while.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: I'll be make sure whenever I'm in the right page
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: of thirty four, I'll be like, Oh, Michael Bennet's finally timed.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: Oh okay, by that's some cocky talk over there. What
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: do you think about the NFL declining to have supplemental
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: draft for formarm or Texas Tech quarterback Brendan's on towards
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: be good? That's right there with the basically made their
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: report told him kick rock Hawk's kid. Yeah, like, this
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: is your fault. You did this exactly, And that's exactly
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: what the General Counsel said of the NFL. H He
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: said that, listen, you put yourself in this situation. Therefore
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: we're not going to open it up for you.
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: That They literally said, the only reason you're coming to
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: the NFL like not war for war radom, but they
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: said the reason I'm coming to You're going to the
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: NFL because you couldn't play college college football because you
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: didn't have eligibility. You tried to sue and then you
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: found out you were a degenerate gambler with an addiction,
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: and you.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: Did all these illegal things that you weren't supposed to do.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: And now your fallback is can I come to the
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: NFL right and they said, we're not gonna let you.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: Let you get ready to meet your new King's quarter quarterback.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: That's exactly what I want back to back. Yes, I
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: love the fact that you said that that he could
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: potentially be the loisvill King's quarterback. I mean, let's be honest,
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: is he really good enough enough to make the NFL
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: right now?
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: You think so.
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: I think he's good enough.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: All right, So what's he gonna do for a year,
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: because the NFL definitely said, listen, you need to prove
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: it to us that you're not gonna gamble. You're not
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: gonna ruin the integrity of the NFL by coming here
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: and gambling on your own team or other teams within
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: the NFL.
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: Look, I think that the man has had some problems
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: in the past. Yeah, and he's probably faced those they
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: I don't want to make fun of that, and I
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: get it that's happened.
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: We've all been in the situation. Again.
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: I think he's been led astray by agents. I think
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: he's been a let astray by by people in his
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: camp about how and I think he was, you know,
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: kind of screw himself a little bit with decision he's made,
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: and that's on him. Yeah, if he is gonna say
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: the UFL, which pays about sixty to seventy grand for
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: their players to play in, is not good enough for him,
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: because that's the only route that's I want to say
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: it genuinely. If you want to go and go to
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: the NFL, that is your best route. Now, if you're
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: Brendan's sorsby, Yeah, because it's a developmental league, you're gonna
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: play with guys who are also been in the NFL.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: Coach in the NFL. This league, right, you're not gonna
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: do that. The Canaanaian League. You're not gonna do that.
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: Over in Europe. You're gonna beet here.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: Right. If he comes out and says I don't want
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: to play in that league, he's not.
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: He's done. He's gonna have to retire.
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: Because if you're too good to do what all these
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: other players are doing and find success, nobody's gonna want you.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: They already don't want you. Why would they want you.
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: If you can't even.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: Put in the hard work for one season, it's too
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: beneath him. I think the ego will get the best
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: of them. I agree with you. He's the point where
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: he has no other options. No, he has no other option.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: And it would be a lot of fun. He would
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: gain a lot of popularity by playing in this league.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: You're telling me you have a chance to playing this league.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you have a head coach who's a quarterback mentality
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: in Chris Redmond. You have a chance to go to
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: the team that just won the league. I mean, it's
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: not too far away from where you were at home before.
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: We'll give you five thousand a game. Come to it
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: a big time. We'll give you pig time. Did you

- 1:31:59Speaker 1: only had a couple of scratches, no injury or anything
