- 2:21Speaker 1: we'll all talk together.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's so much fun. It is.
- 2:25Speaker 1: So let's start with the first one, Beatrice.
- 2:27Speaker 2: All right, first one is from Rachel.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Rachel, Hi, Carols.
- 2:31Speaker 5: I've been watching your recaps of the Sister Wives, as
- 2:35Speaker 5: per usual. So this apology tour that Cody is on,
- 2:39Speaker 5: if I remember correctly, there were people that reported seeing
- 2:44Speaker 5: Cody and Robin, not sure about the kids, but Cody
- 2:48Speaker 5: and Robin in like North Carolina or in like eastern Tennessee, Gatlinburg,
- 2:57Speaker 5: something like that. And I I don't remember exactly how
- 3:01Speaker 5: long ago that was, so my thought on this apology
- 3:06Speaker 5: to Janelle is that Cody didn't take that trip alone.
- 3:13Speaker 5: I don't think he went there by himself, and the
- 3:17Speaker 5: timeline is so weird, so I really don't know, and
- 3:20Speaker 5: I don't have any facts that say that people saw
- 3:25Speaker 5: them there, but I remember hearing that they saw both
- 3:28Speaker 5: of them, because then the rumor was maybe they're going
- 3:31Speaker 5: to do a vow renewal or some damn thing. Anyway,
- 3:36Speaker 5: I'm curious. I'm so curious about whether Cody was allowed
- 3:39Speaker 5: to leave the family for long enough to go talk
- 3:42Speaker 5: to Janelle, or if he and Robin and maybe the
- 3:45Speaker 5: whole family took that trip together. And again, maybe he
- 3:49Speaker 5: didn't see anybody else on that trip, which is ridiculous.
- 3:52Speaker 5: You're all the way there, just see them all. That's
- 3:54Speaker 5: all I have.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Thanks, right, Oh my gosh. Well, first and foremost, I
- 4:00Speaker 1: have no doubt that Robin was absolutely in North Carolina. Yeah,
- 4:04Speaker 1: she had made the trip with him, probably his kids
- 4:08Speaker 1: as well. That would not surprise me in the least.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I have not heard that there were some Cody and
- 4:13Speaker 1: Robin sightings in Gatlinburg and or in North Carolina, have you.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I haven't heard that either. And if it was like
- 4:19Speaker 2: on the reddits or something, I mean, I haven't seen it,
- 4:22Speaker 2: but I could totally see like the whole family coming
- 4:26Speaker 2: with Cody and like them making a whole trip of it,
- 4:28Speaker 2: because that's what they did for Garrison's memorial, Like they
- 4:31Speaker 2: made it a whole yoming trip.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it was awful, but like for a vow renewal,
- 4:37Speaker 1: First and forem, that really does confirm just how deeply
- 4:40Speaker 1: psychic I am. Yes, because I called that. I knew yeap.
- 4:44Speaker 1: When we were going through Christine's flamboyant, fantastic wedding wedding,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I could just put myself right in Robin's demonic body,
- 4:54Speaker 1: watching the tail vizione and seeing just how much attention. Yep.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Christine was getting like getting her own dressed and like
- 5:01Speaker 1: three hundred people and just over there on the river
- 5:05Speaker 1: and everything. I could just feel her getting jealous and
- 5:08Speaker 1: sing something like, well what about me? I mean, I
- 5:10Speaker 1: know I had a big wedding compared to those women,
- 5:12Speaker 1: but like, don't we deserve something even bigger than that?
- 5:17Speaker 1: And then the wheels would start to spin and I.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Predict it, you did avow renewal yep, And I could
- 5:23Speaker 2: totally see it. If it's not gonna be on this season,
- 5:26Speaker 2: it's gonna be next season, hun, and it's gonna be
- 5:29Speaker 2: like multiple episodes because it's gonna be planning it and
- 5:33Speaker 2: who are they gonna invite and are they gonna invite
- 5:36Speaker 2: the og wives or any of the kids?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Probably not? And what yeah, I.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Know, And then they're gonna make a destination. If they
- 5:43Speaker 2: made a destination vow renewal, it's gonna be so extravagant.
- 5:48Speaker 2: It's gonna be so gaudy. They're gonna cry as they
- 5:51Speaker 2: say their vows. But if they film it, that's going
- 5:53Speaker 2: to be cursed because every I swear, every single TLC
- 5:57Speaker 2: filmed like vow renewal comitment ceremony is cursed and always
- 6:02Speaker 2: ends up with people breaking up.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I can see unfortunately, I can see all of
- 6:08Speaker 1: that in our future.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And we're gonna watch it, like I guess. I mean,
- 6:12Speaker 2: we're gonna watch it because we're professionals, but I just
- 6:15Speaker 2: the collectively is still gonna watch.
- 6:16Speaker 1: You can be so hateful about it. I'm gonna be
- 6:19Speaker 1: filled with feminine so much rage I will not be
- 6:24Speaker 1: able to contain myself. You want to need to be
- 6:26Speaker 1: get out of pocket, some old lady auto Internet get nuts, ye,
- 6:30Speaker 1: do a vow renewal and do like a multi episode,
- 6:33Speaker 1: do a whole special, please, and then make me recap that.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm just gonna be beside myself. But also Rachel mentioned, well,
- 6:42Speaker 1: you're already over in North Carolina. Why don't you just
- 6:44Speaker 1: see your kids?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yes, nothing exactly like Hello, he's not going to He's
- 6:49Speaker 2: gonna fly straight back to Utah and go apologize to
- 6:53Speaker 2: Christine and Mary, Like he's not gonna see any of
- 6:55Speaker 2: the kids. And I've been seeing people on Reddit talk
- 6:58Speaker 2: about this, like why don't you do a children apology tour?
- 7:01Speaker 2: Why is it the og wives? Like I understand there's
- 7:04Speaker 2: a lot for him to apologize for with the og wives,
- 7:08Speaker 2: but there's so much more to apologize for with the children,
- 7:11Speaker 2: and he's just not going to do it unless he
- 7:14Speaker 2: makes that next season's content, unless he makes a whole
- 7:19Speaker 2: pilgrimage and he's like, I'm gonna talk to my older
- 7:21Speaker 2: kids and he starts with like someone like Mikeelty.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I can totally see that, unfortunately. But I do think
- 7:28Speaker 1: a lot of these older kids, I e Leon like,
- 7:31Speaker 1: a lot of these kids are just like, get fucked
- 7:33Speaker 1: old man, I'm sick of your show.
- 7:34Speaker 5: Totally.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but there are still some like Aspen, Misabel that
- 7:40Speaker 1: and Savannah. Probably they're just hoping that they can reconcile.
- 7:43Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens.
- 7:44Speaker 2: We will see what happened.
- 7:45Speaker 1: A lot of good tea there, Rachel.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Thank you, Yes, thank you, Rachel. Next one we have
- 7:49Speaker 2: is from Tanya.
- 7:50Speaker 6: Tanya, you guys were asking, are wondering. I think Beatrice
- 7:56Speaker 6: was saying that Ethel had said that they're probably gonna
- 7:59Speaker 6: have twenty five C and you were asking if there
- 8:01Speaker 6: was another TLC show that had more seasons than that. Yes,
- 8:08Speaker 6: Little People, Big World, they had twenty five seasons, and
- 8:13Speaker 6: I didn't even think about the possibility of sister Wives
- 8:17Speaker 6: going for you know, twenty five because what would it
- 8:21Speaker 6: be about. But I think they probably can because if
- 8:26Speaker 6: you think about it, on Little People, Big World, Amy
- 8:29Speaker 6: and whatever the hell his name was, they were divorced
- 8:35Speaker 6: for years and remarried. He married the woman that he Karen,
- 8:41Speaker 6: the woman that he cheated on Amy with, and they
- 8:44Speaker 6: forced them to like go on vacations together and do
- 8:47Speaker 6: all kinds of bullshit together that nobody in real world
- 8:49Speaker 6: would ever do, just so they could like stretch it
- 8:53Speaker 6: out five more seasons. So yeah, I think it's a possibility.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So that little Pumpkin Patch man he did on his
- 9:01Speaker 1: little pumpkin patch.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Why did Yeah, I totally forgot about that. I did
- 9:04Speaker 2: not know that they had a very messy divorce, okay,
- 9:07Speaker 2: and like the whole family was dealing with it. It
- 9:10Speaker 2: was a mess. I did not realize that that show
- 9:13Speaker 2: went on for twenty five seasons.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Me neither.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I mean I checked.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Is it's still on now? I don't think so.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Is it?
- 9:20Speaker 2: Reruns are probably okay? I don't know, but I checked
- 9:23Speaker 2: out like many years into that series because it was boring.
- 9:27Speaker 2: It's like another one of.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Those sister wives. Yeah, type like.
- 9:31Speaker 2: There's not much going on. I mean, like some of
- 9:32Speaker 2: the I think one of the kids had like a
- 9:34Speaker 2: lot of health problems but then he got better, Like
- 9:36Speaker 2: these were fine.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Well it didn't one of them, after remarrying, also get
- 9:40Speaker 1: another divorce one of the kids, No, one of the
- 9:44Speaker 1: original little people duo oh with the pumpkin patch. They
- 9:49Speaker 1: remarried other people. Yeah, and then I think one of
- 9:51Speaker 1: them is getting a divorce.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Maybe it's the dad.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It could be the dad, but it could be the web.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I've never watched the show a day in my life.
- 9:59Speaker 1: But okay, so is a precedent that TLC will just
- 10:03Speaker 1: ride this until the wheels fall off, And you've already
- 10:06Speaker 1: mapped out season twenty two because they're already filming twenty one, right,
- 10:10Speaker 1: So I'm not sure if they're going to be doing
- 10:12Speaker 1: their avow renewal, but if not, they'll probably do that
- 10:14Speaker 1: in season twenty two. Yeah, but I mean unless they
- 10:18Speaker 1: incorporate the kids.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I really don't know what we're doing here. I'm not
- 10:25Speaker 1: interested in pickleball. No, I am not interested at all
- 10:28Speaker 1: in Mary's dating journey. I don't care, So I just
- 10:34Speaker 1: don't I just don't know what we would do for
- 10:35Speaker 1: another four seasons.
- 10:37Speaker 2: They're going to figure it out. They're going to have
- 10:39Speaker 2: some crazy manufactured content, similar to like Little People, Big World.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Great point, Tanya, I had no idea that it went
- 10:46Speaker 2: that long, but and that was a show that was
- 10:48Speaker 2: like every episode was forty five minutes and it was
- 10:51Speaker 2: just so boring. I'm like, what do you Well, people
- 10:53Speaker 2: were obviously watched.
- 10:55Speaker 1: That just begs the question for the spectac with us,
- 10:58Speaker 1: what's wrong with all of us? We're the ones that
- 11:01Speaker 1: continue to watch. I keep it, I mean, and I'm
- 11:05Speaker 1: disappointed and in us, no, well not in us, but
- 11:08Speaker 1: like I'm just disappointed. They could be doing so much more.
- 11:12Speaker 1: They could in the conversation with Janelle, as we discussed earlier,
- 11:15Speaker 1: like you could have talked about your kids, you could
- 11:17Speaker 1: have brought it up once, Like there are so many
- 11:18Speaker 1: other things that we could be doing here, but we're
- 11:20Speaker 1: not doing it, and yet we're all still watching.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Of course we are. But like I think that's what
- 11:25Speaker 2: I said last week too, is like they're kind of
- 11:27Speaker 2: abusing the whole They are like this is a fandom
- 11:31Speaker 2: for all of us, Like we've been here from the beginning, bitch,
- 11:34Speaker 2: Like we've been following it, and people are rewatching and
- 11:37Speaker 2: still rewatching. I still rewatch, not even just for the podcast,
- 11:41Speaker 2: but like just because I'm like, oh, I like the
- 11:42Speaker 2: earlier seasons. It takes me back to a different time.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Oh oh god, my adolescence. So it's like, I think
- 11:48Speaker 2: they're abusing the fact that all of us fans have
- 11:51Speaker 2: been loyal from the beginning. So they're just like, here,
- 11:53Speaker 2: little piggies, yeah hear, raccoons.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That's right, eat your slop. We know you're going to
- 11:59Speaker 1: and we are, I know, and then we will. And
- 12:01Speaker 1: that's the thing, we totally will. Everybody here is guilty,
- 12:04Speaker 1: yep in the dumpster.
- 12:06Speaker 2: So thanks Tanya, thank you for your message. Next one
- 12:09Speaker 2: is from an anonymous raccoon.
- 12:11Speaker 1: No, I always get scared. Hi.
- 12:13Speaker 3: This is Siya living in a very cold dumpster in Minnesota.
- 12:18Speaker 3: And I don't have much to add other than Mary's
- 12:22Speaker 3: hair has been driving me crazy for seasons now. I
- 12:25Speaker 3: couldn't place what it reminds me of. Then it clicked
- 12:28Speaker 3: the other day, those children's books Little Critter. Her hair
- 12:32Speaker 3: is a dead ringer for a little Critter's mom, one
- 12:35Speaker 3: hundred percent what it is. Well, that's all I have
- 12:38Speaker 3: to say bye.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So now you have to pull up.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Let me look it up for you.
- 12:42Speaker 1: A picture of little critters. Mom, I don't even know
- 12:44Speaker 1: what a little critter is.
- 12:46Speaker 2: It's like a little children's book. It's like a little
- 12:48Speaker 2: otter character or something. Okay, you can kind of see
- 12:53Speaker 2: it in this photo.
- 12:56Speaker 1: What's her name, Saya? Yeah, Saya. You hit the nail
- 13:00Speaker 1: on the head, Honey, send that to me so we can.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I went up here in already so stupid.
- 13:07Speaker 2: It's true, it is true.
- 13:09Speaker 1: It's so bad, it is. And I was just watching
- 13:12Speaker 1: her this week in her interstitial. She's got that little
- 13:15Speaker 1: sharp black denim jack.
- 13:17Speaker 2: The real estate plaser.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yes, and she's looking good, like if it just had
- 13:21Speaker 1: a little bit of movement waiting, like maybe some some brown,
- 13:25Speaker 1: some darker hair, and maybe because it just looks so
- 13:27Speaker 1: fried and like she just put son in. She sprayed
- 13:30Speaker 1: son in all over her hair. Oh god, if it
- 13:33Speaker 1: just had like some curls, somebody, it would be so
- 13:36Speaker 1: much better.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Somebody posted on Reddit I should link these, and I don't.
- 13:41Speaker 2: But somebody posted an older photo of Mary Lake from
- 13:45Speaker 2: her like twenties, where she had like shoulder length hair
- 13:48Speaker 2: similar to mine, and it was like nice and wavy
- 13:51Speaker 2: and soft looking, and I'm just like Mary, go back
- 13:54Speaker 2: to that, you don't need a flat iron.
- 13:56Speaker 1: It no, why are you doing that?
- 13:57Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 13:58Speaker 1: It's so bad, it's it is. And so mister Critter's
- 14:01Speaker 1: Mama is exactly the reference we needed.
- 14:04Speaker 2: You Sia in min in Minnoesota. Next one we have
- 14:09Speaker 2: is from Tea Tea.
- 14:12Speaker 4: I wanted to leave a message. By the way, This
- 14:15Speaker 4: is Tea from Brooklyn, New York. And I know that
- 14:22Speaker 4: you guys have been talking a lot about Janelle and
- 14:26Speaker 4: her trying to kind of like backdoor Mary and that
- 14:29Speaker 4: whole situation. I want to start up by saying that
- 14:32Speaker 4: I like Janelle to a certain extent, but I think
- 14:35Speaker 4: that Janelle is the original Robin. I think that Janelle
- 14:40Speaker 4: was doing a lot of manipulation and maneuvering in the
- 14:44Speaker 4: beginning years and she kind of went under the radar
- 14:49Speaker 4: and the beef. Now Mary is an unsufferable person, but
- 14:53Speaker 4: I feel like Mary is one of those people that
- 14:57Speaker 4: is like the boy choir wolf. She overreacts so everything
- 14:59Speaker 4: that she you just assume that she's overreacting, and this
- 15:03Speaker 4: case with Janelle, she wasn't, but people was tired of
- 15:05Speaker 4: her shit. So back in the days, they just immediately
- 15:09Speaker 4: took Mary's side. I mean, I take that back to
- 15:12Speaker 4: Janelle's side. I think Janelle is a terrible mother, and
- 15:17Speaker 4: I wish I had more than ninety seconds to explain why.
- 15:21Speaker 4: But she allowed Cody to steamroll her life and to
- 15:26Speaker 4: do whatever he wanted to do with those kids, whether
- 15:28Speaker 4: that was you know, you know, cast them off to
- 15:32Speaker 4: the side, and she still would be with him no
- 15:34Speaker 4: matter what, because she wanted so badly to be under
- 15:37Speaker 4: his thumb.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Some hot takes in there from Tea in Brooklyn.
- 15:42Speaker 1: New York. Yeah, so the original Robin. I have never
- 15:49Speaker 1: even thought about that. But hearing that and then remembering
- 15:55Speaker 1: some references to Janelle just up and leaving, moving away
- 16:02Speaker 1: and making some power plays, I mean I would too
- 16:04Speaker 1: though if I was living with her, Yeah, I would
- 16:06Speaker 1: not want to be in a situation that was super toxic.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But like we can see Janelle maneuvering herself in a
- 16:13Speaker 1: certain way back in the day, and we were talking
- 16:18Speaker 1: about it when we were doing the recap, Like, I
- 16:20Speaker 1: do think that there is a special affection between Cody
- 16:25Speaker 1: and Janelle. She probably knew it too, and so did Mary,
- 16:28Speaker 1: and maybe that's why Mary was so antagonistic. But do
- 16:31Speaker 1: we think she was at the level of Robin.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I don't, like, in terms of manipulation and just being evil, Like,
- 16:39Speaker 2: I don't see Janelle being in the same category as
- 16:43Speaker 2: Robin the Demon. But I can see how she could
- 16:47Speaker 2: have been Cody's favorite until Robin came in, and so
- 16:50Speaker 2: therefore maybe she got a little bit more preferential treatment,
- 16:55Speaker 2: or maybe she got more affection and that pissed Mary off,
- 16:58Speaker 2: who has always has been given the cold shoulder from Cody,
- 17:02Speaker 2: and like that's all she wanted was a good dick down.
- 17:06Speaker 1: And babies and bare comes Janelle just popping baby out
- 17:09Speaker 1: after baby, out after baby.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yep, So I could see that in that case, I
- 17:13Speaker 2: don't think that Janelle is as manipulative and evil as Robin. Though,
- 17:18Speaker 2: what do you think about her being a terrible mother?
- 17:21Speaker 1: I have to co sign Tea in Brooklyn, I mean, right,
- 17:24Speaker 1: and we've kind of been talking about it, and as
- 17:26Speaker 1: a mother, I've got to be the first one to
- 17:29Speaker 1: say we fuck up a lot. Yeah, we make mistakes,
- 17:32Speaker 1: especially the young moms you know, who didn't have their
- 17:36Speaker 1: life together and then they had a bunch of kids
- 17:37Speaker 1: or whatever, and like you just kind of learn as
- 17:39Speaker 1: you go, and unfortunately, you know, a lot happens that
- 17:42Speaker 1: we don't want to happen. And so what I'm saying is, Janelle,
- 17:47Speaker 1: I'm sure made a lot of those kinds of mistakes
- 17:50Speaker 1: that all moms make, but like what we are watching,
- 17:54Speaker 1: especially in the last five to seven years, with how
- 18:00Speaker 1: bad she let it get with her kids and what
- 18:05Speaker 1: she was willing to put up with, and she kind
- 18:07Speaker 1: of references it in the episode this week when she says, like,
- 18:10Speaker 1: my focus really was on the family and just keeping
- 18:13Speaker 1: that all together. And I don't think it was just
- 18:15Speaker 1: her kids. I think she was looking at the whole family,
- 18:18Speaker 1: Christine's kids, leon everybody, So like she was really very
- 18:22Speaker 1: much centering that in her life and not her relationship.
- 18:26Speaker 1: But like she probably should have been centering her own
- 18:30Speaker 1: children before anybody else, because they weren't seeing Cody, they
- 18:36Speaker 1: weren't getting their fair share. She wasn't, but her kids weren't.
- 18:40Speaker 1: And you're in your forties when this is happening, your
- 18:42Speaker 1: kids are grown, when Cody's calling them assholes and narcissists
- 18:47Speaker 1: on national television, and you're still with him for a
- 18:50Speaker 1: good period of time before it gets so acute you
- 18:53Speaker 1: have to tell him, fuck you, we're not doing this
- 18:55Speaker 1: anymore exactly.
- 18:56Speaker 2: And then even when he comes to apologize to you,
- 18:58Speaker 2: like you don't bring up his lack of relationship with
- 19:02Speaker 2: your children whatsoever, because that's not at the forefront. I
- 19:06Speaker 2: think that at best, Janelle was like an emotionally neglectful parent,
- 19:14Speaker 2: Like I think her kids love her, but I don't sure.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I don't know if she had the capacity because we
- 19:19Speaker 2: kind of touched on this in the our recap this
- 19:21Speaker 2: week of like, I don't think she had the capacity
- 19:23Speaker 2: to be emotionally available for her children in like the
- 19:27Speaker 2: ways of like I empathize with you about your dad, Like,
- 19:30Speaker 2: I think she just compartmentalizes and probably disassociates, And so
- 19:34Speaker 2: there's not a ton of warmth there from my vibe, don't.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I don't know if she was like the world's worst
- 19:42Speaker 2: mother or like a terrible mom, like I feel like
- 19:45Speaker 2: she was overworked, she was stressed out, she preferred to work.
- 19:50Speaker 1: She did would go to the movies on her own
- 19:52Speaker 1: instead of stay home with her kids when they were little.
- 19:54Speaker 2: And she had other women raise her children for her.
- 19:57Speaker 2: So like maybe that's the thing. But the reason why
- 19:59Speaker 2: I'm to say, like she's such a terrible mom is
- 20:02Speaker 2: because her kids still have a relationship with her. Like
- 20:04Speaker 2: I'm somebody who has problems with my parents, and like
- 20:08Speaker 2: I like you can see that in the relationships that
- 20:12Speaker 2: I have, you know, So it's like there's it's there
- 20:16Speaker 2: with Janelle and her kids, Like she lives with Maddie
- 20:18Speaker 2: and like her kids still come to visit her, and.
- 20:20Speaker 1: They still love her and take care of her.
- 20:23Speaker 2: And so there's something to be said about that, Like
- 20:25Speaker 2: you couldn't have been that terrible of a mom if
- 20:27Speaker 2: like your kids still want to be around you, right know. Yeah,
- 20:31Speaker 2: so that's my only that's a fair point qualm right there.
- 20:34Speaker 2: But I do think she was a bit absent.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yes, but none of us know kind of what their
- 20:40Speaker 1: home life actually was, because her kids do really love
- 20:44Speaker 1: her exactly, And remember Garrison and Gabe making that little
- 20:49Speaker 1: garden area for her, like you always want to take
- 20:51Speaker 1: care of mama. That speaks to their character, but it
- 20:54Speaker 1: also speaks to her being a good mom exactly to
- 20:56Speaker 1: some degree. To some degree, when we zoom albit not
- 21:00Speaker 1: the family LC and when we understand that she's the
- 21:03Speaker 1: one who gets the records together for the taxes, and
- 21:05Speaker 1: she sees the books, and she had to have seen
- 21:08Speaker 1: that things were unfair. She even references this that other
- 21:11Speaker 1: kids are getting less. Maybe not her kids, because she's
- 21:14Speaker 1: got her eyes on it. Maybe Cody gives her more.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I don't know, but she had to have seen that
- 21:18Speaker 1: the other kids that she claims to love just as
- 21:21Speaker 1: much like, they're getting less though, and you're co signing that.
- 21:24Speaker 1: So that makes you not a great mother to those kids. Yeah,
- 21:27Speaker 1: and maybe your kids, because I don't know how much
- 21:29Speaker 1: they're getting either. So there's a lot of ways we
- 21:32Speaker 1: can come in and criticize her, And sometimes I get
- 21:34Speaker 1: really upset with her because I expect more from her.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I expect her to stand up for her kids
- 21:40Speaker 2: more and stand up for the family more, but she doesn't.
- 21:42Speaker 2: She's kind of a dormat, I'm sorry.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah, she's kind of turning into one.
- 21:45Speaker 2: She's a bit of a pushover, and like, maybe that's
- 21:47Speaker 2: why Cody went and apologized to her first, because it
- 21:49Speaker 2: would have been easier too, and it's easier for him
- 21:52Speaker 2: to have more of a sway over her because she
- 21:55Speaker 2: is such a docile, passive person. Like in those regards,
- 22:01Speaker 2: I think, yeah, you're not a good mom because you
- 22:03Speaker 2: don't stand up for your kids and you don't advocate
- 22:06Speaker 2: for them. But at the same time, it's like all
- 22:08Speaker 2: of them still love you. All some still care about you,
- 22:11Speaker 2: and so you know, I think there is a genuine
- 22:14Speaker 2: like she does care about her kids. But like all parents,
- 22:18Speaker 2: you know, some they make mistakes and sometimes it's hard
- 22:22Speaker 2: to express that. So I don't know, that's my that's.
- 22:26Speaker 1: My yeah, and I get it and it makes perfect sense.
- 22:29Speaker 1: So what do you all think? And t thank you
- 22:31Speaker 1: for calling in. Yes, those were good observation hot takes.
- 22:34Speaker 2: There. Last message we have is from my homegirl, Ethel Ethyl.
- 22:39Speaker 2: I've been seeing some of y'all comment being like, who's Ethel?
- 22:42Speaker 2: Some people are like, is that your wife?
- 22:43Speaker 1: No, she's our Mormon informant.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yes, she's our Morbid informant. She's also my best friend
- 22:48Speaker 2: and she was like one of the first fans of
- 22:50Speaker 2: our podcast and she's been Yes, so she called in
- 22:55Speaker 2: with a hot take.
- 22:56Speaker 7: HEYV and D it's Ethel calling in for my seasonal
- 23:01Speaker 7: complaint message. Not complaint, but me and we were talking
- 23:07Speaker 7: earlier and she said that I should send this in
- 23:09Speaker 7: so here we go. You guys talk a lot about
- 23:14Speaker 7: how why isn't production showing us more stuff? Why isn't production,
- 23:19Speaker 7: you know, cutting in these different things and showing us
- 23:23Speaker 7: the truth and you know, inter cutting in where they're lying.
- 23:26Speaker 7: But I think that they honestly can't. I feel like
- 23:31Speaker 7: Cody and Robin would mix it. They're the ones who
- 23:35Speaker 7: are the most willing to play ball with TLC. I
- 23:38Speaker 7: feel like if the show ended tomorrow, the OG three
- 23:40Speaker 7: would be like, okay, whatever, But Cody and Robin want
- 23:45Speaker 7: the show to keep going, and so they keep they
- 23:50Speaker 7: keep it going. They do these different things, and I
- 23:52Speaker 7: think production is happy to accommodate them because they make
- 23:56Speaker 7: them a ton of money. They bring in a ton
- 23:58Speaker 7: of viewers. And I feel like if they pushed Cody
- 24:01Speaker 7: and Robin even more, they'd be like, no, we're not
- 24:04Speaker 7: doing it. We're done. This is over, and so why
- 24:08Speaker 7: kill the cow by trying to show things. They'll put
- 24:12Speaker 7: in little little things to keep the audience like in,
- 24:16Speaker 7: but otherwise it's the Cody and Robin show, and I
- 24:20Speaker 7: think that they're they're driving everything.
- 24:23Speaker 2: I think true, it's just unfortunate that Cody and Robin
- 24:27Speaker 2: have so much power over like TLC, over the show.
- 24:32Speaker 2: But I do think the producers. I think they probably
- 24:34Speaker 2: had a hand in like Cody's apology tour. They're like, Okay,
- 24:37Speaker 2: if you guys want to stay on the show, like,
- 24:39Speaker 2: this is how we have to go about it. Let's
- 24:41Speaker 2: go on an apology tour. You have to say X,
- 24:43Speaker 2: Y and Z. So way, maybe the public's opinion of
- 24:46Speaker 2: you will change eventually, like if you want to stay on, like,
- 24:50Speaker 2: we're going to have to play ball. And I think
- 24:52Speaker 2: that they can't push Cody and Robin too hard because
- 24:55Speaker 2: otherwise they would be like, well, we're quitting. We're not
- 24:59Speaker 2: going to do this. I'm going to answer these questions.
- 25:01Speaker 1: They are never going to quit. They can't quit, that's
- 25:04Speaker 1: the question. They don't have jobs. They need this money.
- 25:08Speaker 1: They just bought a two point one million dollar home
- 25:11Speaker 1: near some sort of an excavation site in a terrible location,
- 25:15Speaker 1: which I have to lob but they cannot afford to
- 25:18Speaker 1: lose this job. And honestly, if this production company is
- 25:24Speaker 1: so bone headed to give them this kind of power,
- 25:28Speaker 1: then they deserve to have this entire show go away,
- 25:33Speaker 1: because if they really want to make this show excellent.
- 25:36Speaker 1: They tell Cody and Robin, we don't actually need you,
- 25:39Speaker 1: like we can talk to some of your kids, like
- 25:41Speaker 1: I bet, out of your twenty thousand children, many of
- 25:45Speaker 1: which are now adults, I bet there's probably at least
- 25:47Speaker 1: four or five that are willing to shoot for fair
- 25:50Speaker 1: compensation and with no NDAs. And also I bet the
- 25:53Speaker 1: og wives would be just fine to continue on with
- 25:57Speaker 1: this show without having to deal with an apologur, without
- 26:00Speaker 1: having to look at Robin's big fucking cheese blockhead every
- 26:04Speaker 1: single week weighing in on their dating life and this
- 26:07Speaker 1: or that, Like, I bet they would love that. And
- 26:09Speaker 1: also I think we would watch that. I think we
- 26:12Speaker 1: would if I knew I was tuning in to see
- 26:15Speaker 1: Mary drag Robin and Cody for filth every single week.
- 26:19Speaker 1: If I knew, even if Cody and Robin stayed on
- 26:22Speaker 1: that production was making them experience the reckoning that they deserve,
- 26:27Speaker 1: and not only did they deserve, yeah, but that we
- 26:29Speaker 1: all want, Yeah, we would add there would be so
- 26:32Speaker 1: many more people of watching every week. How sustainable is this?
- 26:38Speaker 1: I mean, I guess The Little People, Big World in
- 26:40Speaker 1: the Pumpkin Patch was twenty five seasons or whatever. But
- 26:44Speaker 1: like do you want to make an excellent show or
- 26:47Speaker 1: do you just want to keep milking this for as
- 26:49Speaker 1: long as possible? But you don't have to. That's why
- 26:52Speaker 1: I'm saying. If that's what you're doing, If you're giving
- 26:55Speaker 1: them this power just because oh they're letting us continue
- 26:58Speaker 1: to film and we can continue need to make money, well,
- 27:00Speaker 1: then you guys are idiots. Yeah, because this could be
- 27:03Speaker 1: so much better, And Cody and Robin have nowhere to go.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Make those assholes uncomfy, make those assholes have to sit
- 27:12Speaker 1: with everybody else in the tell all, with somebody other
- 27:15Speaker 1: than Sukiana, somebody like Eanla who will or Tamern Hall
- 27:20Speaker 1: who will confront everybody and then show the flashbacks. And
- 27:23Speaker 1: I'm sorry. If you don't like it, then get on go.
- 27:25Speaker 2: For sure, we'll tap Leon.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Maybe Leon wants to be on the show for sure.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Maybe Aspin and Mitch want to be on the show.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Maybe Logan will be on the show, Maybe Hunter, like
- 27:33Speaker 1: there's a lot of Maybe Brianna, maybe day In want
- 27:38Speaker 1: to be on the show and we could learn more
- 27:39Speaker 1: about Dayton's dad. How many of us here would love that?
- 27:43Speaker 1: I would. I do not need Cody and Robin and
- 27:46Speaker 1: so I just don't understand where where the power comes from.
- 27:48Speaker 1: They're not executive producers, they didn't create this show. They
- 27:53Speaker 1: are lucky to be in the position that they are in.
- 27:56Speaker 1: They somebody have to disagree with Athl on this, even
- 27:58Speaker 1: though her baby is look good baby whole life. I disagree.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I just think that they are dumb. I think the
- 28:07Speaker 1: Browns are dumb, and I think productions dumb.
- 28:11Speaker 2: I mean, I agree, I think everybody is dumb, for sure,
- 28:14Speaker 2: But I do think that they do need Cody and
- 28:16Speaker 2: Robin because the OG three are not going to be
- 28:20Speaker 2: spilling any fucking tea about them.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Well, maybe if Cody and Robin weren't trying to get
- 28:23Speaker 1: NDA's and get their lawyers and stuff, and maybe if
- 28:26Speaker 1: they failed emboldened to tell the truth because previously they
- 28:28Speaker 1: were people to, maybe they would start to do that.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Wouldn't they be better to watch?
- 28:32Speaker 2: For sure? But like Mary herself has gone on TikTok
- 28:35Speaker 2: being like I'm not going to write a book, I'm
- 28:37Speaker 2: not going to talk about the past because I'm a
- 28:39Speaker 2: bigger person, blah blah blah blah blah, And like I
- 28:41Speaker 2: don't think Jenelle's gonna spill secrets either, because I think
- 28:44Speaker 2: she just wants to be done with everything. Like if
- 28:47Speaker 2: the OG three were more vindictive, more angry, and more
- 28:53Speaker 2: expressive in that, then yeah, we don't need Cody and Robin.
- 28:56Speaker 1: What do we need them for now?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Content for rage bait? What kind of rage bait? Rage cells?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Fair?
- 29:04Speaker 2: And I mean all of us are like on the Instagram.
- 29:08Speaker 1: A lot of people are falling away, a lot of
- 29:11Speaker 1: people aren't watching anymore, a lot of people rely on
- 29:15Speaker 1: recap they do because they can't stand to watch these
- 29:18Speaker 1: people anymore.
- 29:19Speaker 2: YEP. I do think that Cody and Robin probably have
- 29:22Speaker 2: more power than we think they do, maybe because they
- 29:25Speaker 2: have existing contracts that they've signed with TLC like before
- 29:28Speaker 2: all of the breakups happened, or like maybe they've got
- 29:31Speaker 2: some kind of deal going on with the producers, and
- 29:33Speaker 2: maybe the producers honestly think that they need Cody and Robin.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Maybe they're like, yeah, we need you guys to keep
- 29:40Speaker 2: the show going, because maybe they've heard little chirps from
- 29:44Speaker 2: the OG wives being like, I don't want to fucking
- 29:46Speaker 2: do this shit anymore.
- 29:47Speaker 1: What are they gonna do? I don't know what is
- 29:49Speaker 1: Janelle going to do? Janelle we're currently launching her stupid
- 29:53Speaker 1: coaching business, I know, and we talked about this on
- 29:55Speaker 1: one of our after parties because somebody in the dumpster
- 29:59Speaker 1: attended a code call and Janelle was completely bad at
- 30:02Speaker 1: it and doesn't know how to conduct one of these calls.
- 30:05Speaker 1: She's looking for another stream of income because she knows
- 30:08Speaker 1: the writing is on the wall, but she needs this
- 30:10Speaker 1: job until it goes away, and she needs it not
- 30:13Speaker 1: to go away. So I think they could incentivize her
- 30:17Speaker 1: to be a bit more open about her lives. And
- 30:20Speaker 1: I think they could also incentivize some of her kids
- 30:23Speaker 1: to do the same, because a lot of her kids
- 30:25Speaker 1: don't like Cody. If it were me, I would be
- 30:30Speaker 1: doing this a totally different way.
- 30:32Speaker 2: I agreed.
- 30:32Speaker 1: This past episode, we saw Robin say, yeah, I don't
- 30:35Speaker 1: want to answer that question, and that's annoying, and I'm like, okay,
- 30:38Speaker 1: then why are you sitting on the couch?
- 30:39Speaker 2: Why are you here?
- 30:40Speaker 1: Why are we asking you any questions? What are you
- 30:42Speaker 1: here to offer you? How are you serving the show?
- 30:45Speaker 1: You're not You're refusing to answer questions and I hate
- 30:48Speaker 1: to look at your.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Face, you know, And then we got to sit through
- 30:52Speaker 2: tell nothings where you're going to do the same thing.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Like you won't even watch the problem Telest. You won't
- 30:57Speaker 1: even watch the monitor exactly, I guess because in my heart, Yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 1: in that secret place inside of me, we're hope, where
- 31:10Speaker 1: hope is nurtured.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Hope.
- 31:11Speaker 3: It's a spark.
- 31:12Speaker 1: It's a dangerous thing, but it's a spark inside of me.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I hope that somebody gets their head out of their
- 31:17Speaker 1: ass on this production team and on TLC and tell
- 31:20Speaker 1: Cody and Robin, oh yeah, if you don't want to
- 31:22Speaker 1: answer the question, get the fuck out. Yeah, we can
- 31:24Speaker 1: find other people to do this kind of show.
- 31:26Speaker 5: We can.
- 31:27Speaker 1: We can do it without you, and it'll probably be
- 31:29Speaker 1: a better show. We don't need your asses, so find
- 31:31Speaker 1: another way to pay your mortgage, bitch. I mean, you
- 31:33Speaker 1: have all the power right now. It could be such
- 31:35Speaker 1: a better show.
- 31:36Speaker 5: I agree.
- 31:37Speaker 1: But every week I say this, I know you guys
- 31:39Speaker 1: get sick of it. And I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm
- 31:41Speaker 1: a broken record.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I mean, but really, like Cody and Robin are just
- 31:43Speaker 2: going to be grifters forever, Like you already have Cody
- 31:46Speaker 2: going on Special Forces and making a bunch of money
- 31:49Speaker 2: from there, and like what if they went on Dancing
- 31:51Speaker 2: with the Stars or something, wouldn't it be so good?
- 31:54Speaker 2: Or if they went on like the ultimatum, the ultimatum?
- 32:01Speaker 1: What is it? Why it's what is the show on Peacock?
- 32:04Speaker 1: The Traders? Yes, the Traders, Yes, they would be put
- 32:07Speaker 1: out week one, week two, because of course they're the traders.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Even if they're not tapped to be traders, they're going
- 32:13Speaker 1: to be a trader. Yeah, these are terrible people. Yeah,
- 32:16Speaker 1: I just good, good thoughts, Ethel. Yes I disagree.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Well, let us know what you guys think about that,
- 32:22Speaker 2: if you agree with Ethel, or if you have other
- 32:25Speaker 2: thoughts about some of the other speak Pipe callers we
- 32:27Speaker 2: got today, and please call us and tell us your
- 32:30Speaker 2: thoughts and everything so we can talk about them next week.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Absolutely again, all you have to do is go to
- 32:34Speaker 1: speakpipe dot com slash reality TV Cringe. You have ninety
- 32:38Speaker 1: seconds and if you got a lot to say, you
- 32:39Speaker 1: could even call back, but only only to two times
- 32:42Speaker 1: at the most, because we can't do Yeah, a lot
- 32:44Speaker 1: of calls will commit. Yeah, but we would love to hear,
- 32:46Speaker 1: especially if you have tea, especially if you've got to
- 32:49Speaker 1: monocle out and you've been noticing trends and patterns that
- 32:52Speaker 1: maybe we're not talking about because I'm drunk and she's
- 32:54Speaker 1: checked out. Like, if you can call in with the tea.
- 32:56Speaker 2: We would love it.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 32:59Speaker 1: So is there anything else that we should say to
- 33:01Speaker 1: these beautiful raccoons before we get a bond at a here?

- 33:17Speaker 1: Do you think so?
- 33:17Speaker 2: Theoretically?
