things happened this week in Anime News, And technically it was last week.

It's this week when I'm recording it. But for you, this is gonna

be stuff that happened last week, so you're gonna be like, oh,

okay, already knew about this if you know about anime. If not,

here we go. So two things. One is that there's going to be

a new one piece and like a retelling redo of the one piece anime,

you know, based on the manga, and it's going to be done by

Studio Wit, which is a really good studio. I'm sure you are familiar

with them. Maybe they did the first three seasons of Attack on Titan and

something else and some other things, and all of a sudden, I forgot

everything that Wit did. But they're like a really good studio, So this

is gonna be like super interesting because I don't know if you know a lot

about One Piece. I don't know if we've ever talked about this before,

but One Piece has I think currently like eleven hundred episodes. Yeah, not

one hundred and ten, eleven hundred, like one thousand, one hundred episodes

because it runs weekly and forever. Basically it's just been going on forever,

and the manga it's based on it's good, but the anime is hard to

watch because there are severe pacing issues, like really severe, like I've never

seen anything this badly paced before. For a lot of it, I'm stuck

at the Marine Ford arc because like Lufy was just running and running and running

for like ten episodes, like him running and reaction shots in the first five

minutes are a combination of the theme and them just talking about like what's happened

so far. It's hard to watch, is what I'm saying. And it's

a good story and I really like it in theory, but the anime is

really difficult to get through. I mean, besides being over a thousand episodes

in and not done yet. So I actually think this is a really positive

thing. And I feel like a lot of people who love one Piece,

especially just like the manga, the actual source material, are really excited about

this and I'm really excited too. So yeah, who knows when it's actually

going to come out, but we just found out about it, so there.

And then the other thing, which kind of relates to this show a

little bit, is that Chainsaw Man just got a movie announcement, So the

next arc of Chainsaw Man is going to be adapted into a movie, which

is something that the weird CHAINSAWMN fan community had wondered if was going to happen

next and then we would get another season after. So they were right,

I guess, or we were right. I don't know if I count,

but yeah, if you were with me when we, you know, watched

Chainsaw Man and you like CHAINSAWMN, the next arc is like really really good

and I am incredibly excited and I will go see it in theaters if we

get a chance, and I think that we'll probably get it in theaters here

maybe, so whenever that is, but you know, there's not a date

announced. I don't know if it's gonna be next year or the year after.

Now that I've like talked myself into a hole, let's talk about REE

zero episode twenty one, which is called a Wager that Defies Despair, which

sounds like a pretty positive title, like maybe good things will happen. And

also we're back to titles of episodes that I think are like pretty interesting and

cool. So good Jobree zero. So if you remember from last time the

Whale, like all of a sudden, there were like three white whales and

they're swimming in the sky. So this is really bad probably, So that's

where we start off this episode. Three whales swimming in the sky, are

flying or whatever that is that they do. And then Mimi is like captain

because she's concerned about him Ricardo because remember he might have died, and Felix

and Cruise kind of are like looking really shocked and like a night drops his

sword and everybody's like looking up in dismay at this collection of white whales flying

in the sky, and a couple of people are like talking and I don't

know if it's multiple nights or one guy, but someone's like how, And

then someone else is like, it's all over, We're dead, and we

see a shot of Ricardo, who is on the ground, either passed out

or dead, and then we hear Subaru say, don't let swallow him.

If we get him out before he's swallowed, we can save him. And

he's talking about Wilhelm. Remember he got eaten by the white whale in the

last episode. So then ram attacks the white whale with her mace and then

like falls off the whale and Suber catches her as she's falling, so they're

on the ground dragon and Suber is like, don't think a little bit of

despair will stop me. Giving up does not suit us, not me,

not you, not anyone. And then the whale makes some whale noises and

we see the show title card, so no opening, yay back to the

show. Ram like has her glowy horn now and she jumps onto the white

whale and she strikes it with her mace, and Suber is like, let's

go Patrache, which apparently is the name of the ground dragon, which I

don't remember them ever saying that that was her name or its name before,

So what was really weird to me that he just said that? And I

was like supposed to understand, but whatever. So he's like, let's go

Patrache or something, run right under the whale's nose and the ground dragon takes

off like really fast, and the whale is like right behind him, and

m goes the only one who can sniff suber o'coon is me you, and

then she hits the whale again, and Subro is like looking behind him as

this is all happening, and then he turns back to see like the fog

growing in front of him, and then we hear krushe somewhere off screen.

Go close your mouth. And then she hits the whale and like rides up

to Subru and she's like, at a glance, the situation looks dismal.

Where's Willhelm? I guess she didn't see all that, And Suber's like,

if you remember him, at least we know the fog hasn't erased him,

and he looks up at the whale and he's like, everything depends on how

well wherem fights and Crush says, what do you think? Does nothing seem

strange to you? And Suber is like, what do you mean? And

Cruse says, there are now three white whales. If this is actually a

mobbist that lived in groups, like, wouldn't we have known that by now?

There must be some trick behind it. And Subru says, and we

have to find that out, huh. And they come to a stop and

crusehs like, if not, we won't hold out for long. Retreat is

no longer an option, and then the whale starts like heading for them again,

and Crush is like fire and nothing happens, and Krush looks over to

see her troops just standing there, totally terrified, and Cruse is like,

I said, fire, and they just do nothing but stand there and shake.

So Cruse has to like slash at the whale herself. And then the

whale starts after Subrou and it's like shooting mist at him, and he's like

dodging and like riding really fast on Patrosia and rem like takes aim at those

vents. I think she's on the whale. At this point, she like

hits those like vents that have all the stuff coming out of them, but

they like regenerate right away, and another blast of fog like strikes and it

knocks Suberu almost off the ground. Dragon like he's no longer sitting up and

he's kind of like about to fall off, and the white whale is like

inches away like behind him, with its mouth open, and Suber's like will
8:50
power and he manages to get himself upright, and he's like, shit,

being a daredevil isn't enough. I got to use my head? Why are

there three of them? And then which is like duck and suber ducks and

those like little kids from the Hoshino Mercenary group come and they like scream and

it like blasts at the whale and it like hits the whale, and the

whale actually starts falling, and Khrush slashes at it, and the ho Shian

group like starts stabbing it and shit, and Ta Taro's like, we'll back

up Natzki and Crush until the captain is fully healed and we can regroup.

Oh, I guess Ricardo's okay, yay, And then Subru says, Ricardo's

still alive. Yeah, that's that was what I thought too, And Nataro

says that Mimi brought him to Felix, so he's okay sort of, and

Mimi's like, he struggled a lot. It wasn't easy, and Suber's like,

hussy, like thank god, and Nataro says, on the verge of

death, our captain sent a message and then he says, like in a

really gruff voice with a really mean looking face, Hey, it's getting a

lot lighter. The fact that I didn't die proves that. And he says,

that's what he said, and Super is like lighter. What's light about

a hard situation like this? And he's thinking light and Suber thinks about like

all the past events of the day, and then he gasps and he's like

that's it. I get it. And then another of the whales like crashes

into the ground and like starts to writhe, I think the other whale when

everybody was attacking it, I think it like fell. I'm not sure.

So this whale like falls to the ground and it's like starts to ride the

round on the ground and rem and like those kids like go to like fight

it, and then Wilhelm's hand just like pops out of the whale's body,

and then like his whole horso pops out of the body and he screams and

he falls to the ground, and like Super runs over to him, see

if he's okay, and Wilhelm is like, not skilled enough. I was

careless, and Tataro asks if he's okay, and Suber's like, yeah,

he's just unconscious. Okay, that's not okay, and Super continues, sorry,

but could you take him to Felix And Hitaro's like sure, but what

about you? And Subaru looks up at that remaining whale that's still flying in

the sky and is like, I realized something. Then we cut to the

whole hole. Schine group like hurt in the whale a lot, which makes

me kind of sad, and then we hear kind of like a voiceover and

Krush says it divided, and Suber says, yeah, it's fighting strength.

And the left eye that Wilhelm gouged out convinced me. Your group's been engaging

him head on, so you must have sensed it. And Ram, who

was also there, says, I was absorbed in the battle, but you're

right, And then Crush is like, I do agree with the conjecture that

this one is weaker than the original body, But what does knowing that do?

Killing three white whales is much easier said than done, And so Suberu

says, we don't need to kill all three, just one should be enough.

That bastard has been making his doubles fight while he hangs around up there

watching what do you think it's doing? I don't know what it's doing.

Maybe it's taken a bathroom break or something. Who knows. And Krush looks

up and she's like, is that the real one? And suber says it

won't descend because it knows it can't let itself get killed. Maybe, and

Cruse says, but I can't rely on my sword to hit it from this

distance. If I had one strike, it might be possible, and super

is like, I have a plan, but it's a little bit too much

of a wager. Do you want it? And then there's like a little

break from their conversation, and we see people, including Wilhelm being healed and

like one of the grounded whales like screaming and all that stuff that the whales

do when they're being killed, and then we cut back to Krush and super

un Ram, and Krush says, I think you're insane, and Suber is

like, we're already kind of insane for trying to take on that huge thing

in the first place, and Krush like pauses and it's like, perhaps,

no, you're right, that goes for everyone here right now. Will hold

off the Doubles. I'll take your wager. And she reaches out her fist

and they fist bump. Yay. I think that's like the second fist bump

we've had in this series. Yay. I don't know why that makes me

happy. And the Doubles are like back in the sky at this point,

and they are coming for the people again, and they're like coming right at
13:22
the Knights and all the injured people, and they like really want to run,

but they don't for some reason. And one of them like blasts fog

at them, and just before it hits and kills everybody, Crush like jumps

in and she like slashes the fog away. Yeah, and the force I

guess of her sword hitting the fog is like real, real intense, and

it knocks her over and then she gets up slowly, and one of the
13:46
knights is like crush Samma, and Krush takes a deep breath and says,

stand up, lift your faces, take up your weapons. Look at that

boy, I guess about super He's so weak and fragile that just a breath

could blow him away. And he's unarmed. He's a powerless boy whose defeat

I've seen with my own eyes. He's weaker than anyone here ouch, Yet

he's shouting louder than anyone. We can still do this. So how can

we sit here with downcast gazes if our weakest man hasn't give up? How

is Neeli in defeat acceptable? And the whale approaches again, readying its fog,

and Khrush raises her sword and says, did you come all this way

to wallow and shame? And before she can use her sword, someone like

tosses a mace at the whale and it hits it, and she looks back

in astonishment, and it's one of her men, yay, And then they

all start like readying their weapons because they were inspired and they're gonna fight,

yeah, And Krush smiles and like slashes at it, and Khrush takes a

deep breath and says follow me, and the men are like yeah, and

then they run at it and light cannons are like firing and they knock it

off balance and Subaru, who's watching this as they are traveling on the ground

dragon, it is like she has some nerve, calling me a weakling and

a loser. Let's do this, m time for the climax, and Ram's

like right, And at this point they're at the base of that gigantic tree

and like, not on the ground dragon anymore, and rem says all humor

and she makes like a big ice like dagger thing in the air, like

a really big one, and she's like please, and she sends it off

and it like misses the whale by like an inch, and Krush looks up

and is like, I'm counting on you, and I'm just like I think

it missed. And then we hear Super who say, now that I can

see you up close, you really are creepy. Oh my god. Super

is on the whale. The piece of ice was to transport him to the

whale for some reason, So we stand in there on the whale's horn and

he's in this like really classic Gaynax slash studio Trayer pose, you know the

one where like the characters standing up and their arms are folded and they look

like really really tough. Yeah, that's an awesome pose. Well, he's

doing that, and he says, try to keep up with me, just

so you know, I'm infamous for being so annoying that no one can ignore

me. Okay, let's do this, and then he like jumps off the

whale and I'm just like what, And he is falling and looking back up

at the whale and going, I'm doing you a huge favor. Listen up

because of you, Rem died and I had to experience a horrible trauma.

And then he and everything else freeze and a shadowy woman's profile creeps next to

his face and then the dark hand goes into his chest and grabs his heart

and then he gasps and he's like I made it back, but he's still

falling, and the whale, like I guess smells him more now and starts

heading for him with its mouth open ready to like chomp him up. And

Super is like rem and Ram's like got it, and she releases another ice

dagger and it like spears the whale like through its mouth like through it's kind

of like lower soft pallady area and then out the other side ouch, that

would be very painful. And then she catches Subru with the chain from her

mace and pulls him down towards her like really really fast, and he lands
17:33
with his head on her breasts and she smiles and Suber is like, you

saved me, and I believe at this point wherem says, gotcha's samma,

which means like thanks for the delicious meal, which I thought was hilarious actually,

and Suber is just like what I love that. I love that it's

totally one sided, and Suber is just in the battle and rem is like

super attracted to Suber or whatever, doesn't matter anyway. The white whale like

crashes into the ground maybe or it's doing the thing where it's like kind of

eating the ground as it goes along. That looks like it would be really

painful, and Suber is like, don't let me down. Patrasie, which

is the dragon. Remember you're a dragon, aren't you. Yes, it

is, show me how awesome you are. And Patrasie roars and like speeds

up and it's like coming right at him, and Suber's like, take this

and then Crush says fire and all of these explosions go off, but they

don't hit the whale. They hit around the giant tree and the tree starts

to fall. Oh my god, and it's falling and the whale is passing

right under where the tree is falling, and the tree like falls and crushes

the whale. Yeah. So, like the moral is that they were using

really small weapons. It's like, if a bug was trying to kill me

with a bug size sword, it's not gonna work. You need a big

thing like a tree to drop on me to kill me. So the whale

is beneath the giant tree trunk. Sure they had to kill the tree to

do this, and that sucks, but whatever. And there's flower petals everywhere,

and it looks like the sun is slowly coming up. It's not that

dark anymore. And Wilhelm is standing in front of the whale with his sword,

and then we have a flashback of like a palace of sorts and Teresa

is standing like on like a stage type thing in the palace and she has

her sword and she looks up and she sees Wilhelm approaching her, and he's

like wearing like this black cloak with like a hood and he looks like super

super edgy, and then we cut back to now and he's approaching the whale,

and then we're back to the past and they look at each other and

he unsheathes his sword, and then now he also unsheathes his sword, and

he says, this is for my wife, Teresia von Austria, and then

he runs at the whale like screaming because that's what he does, and he

like slashes it, and then we go back and forth between the past Wilhelm

and the President Wilhelm, and in the past like him and Teresa are in

a sword fight, and then there's also like memories of them together from like

the last episode and stuff. And then finally he has his sword at her

throat and she is disarmed, like her sword falls, and he says,

I win as a weaker swordsman, you no longer have a reason to hold

a sword, really, so there can only be one swords person in the

whole world. And Teresa says, if I don't hold it, who will,

And Wilhelm's like, I'll inherit your reason for wielding the sword, and

he takes down his said and he's like, you need but become my reason

for wielding it, and Theresa looks shocked, but then she smiles and says,

hey, do you like flowers? And Wilhelm says I don't hate them

anymore. And Teresa's like, why do you wield that sword? And Willhelm

pulls her to him and says, to protect you, and then they kiss.

Okay, yeah, and Teresa's like, do you love me? And

Willhelm looks away and he's like, you already know that, and Teresa says,

I still want to hear you say it sometimes. Will Helm looks kind

of inconvenienced and he's like, okay, someday when I feel like it,

and then they kiss. Yeah. I didn't like that. I don't know

why he had to be better than her at the sword art thing. Yeah,

the whole thing makes me uncomfortable. Sorry, but at least they're happy,

I guess. So then we're back to now and Willhelm cuts the whale

and he's standing on top of it and he raises his sword like he's already

cut it a lot, but maybe this is gonna be the best cut,

and the whale like looks up at him with his one remaining eye, and

he looks like so afraid, and I just want to tell him it's gonna

be okay, but it's not. And then Wilhelm goes sleep for all eternity,

and he delivers the final blow, and then the other two whales like

disappear and the sun starts to come up, and Wilhelm says, it's finished,

Teresia at last, Teresia eye, and he puts his hand over his

face and he says, I love you. Took you long enough, and

now she can't hear it. So then Crush to everyone is like the white

whale has fallen. The mob beast of Fog, which has terrorized the world

for four centuries, has been defeated by Wilhelm von Austria. And then everybody

cheers, and I'm just like, uh, all he did was like deliver

the final blow when it was already crushed. Guys, but sure, and

Cruse says, we have won this battle. And then I guess a little

while later, Suber is off by himself looking at the sunset, and Crush

walks over and asks him if he's okay, and Suber is like, somehow

or another, I'm glad you're safe too, and Cruse says, I am,

but our losses were not few. With the white Whales's defeat, the

ones who vanished will not return. And we kind of cut to see a

bunch of dead bodies lying on the ground that are like covered and stuff,

so we know they're dead. And Suber says, I think you did great.

Your popularity should go through the Wait did I just give you a boost

in the Royal selection that I shouldn't have? And cruseh is like, that's

quite a gloomy look on your face. You don't look like the hero who

just brought down the white whale. And Suber is like, the first thing

A million times gonna do is call me a traitor, and then he stops

and he's like, wait, what did you call me? And Crush says

the hero who brought down the white whale? I wouldn't wish to be shameless

enough to claim your achievement as my own. Super is like, oh no,

I mean I really didn't do anything, and Krush just kind of smiles

and Super like this kind of sighs and it's like, it sounds like your

opinion of me has improved a lot. I'm surprised, and Krush says,

there's no cause for modesty. In truth, I would love to welcome you

into my household and reward your accomplishments, and Suber says, please don't ask

that of me. It isn't about loyalty or allegiance, but my faith already

lies where it should. I'll make Amelia the ruler, not for anyone else.

It's simply what I want to do. And Khrush smiles and says I

was already aware of that, but it still stings a bit, and Suber

says, Honestly, I think you're an amazing person. If i'd been on

my own, I'm pretty sure i'd have accepted your offer. I'll be counting

on you to uphold our alliance, even if we end up his enemies.

I believe we can get along until then. And he holds out his hand

I don't deny that there were occasions on which my heartstrings felt the pull,

hands and Crush says, now I have to leave and take her wounded and

the White Whales targets back to the capitol. But it would appear that you

still have a duty to attend to and Suber is like, yeah, it

may sound rude, but in a sense, that's what this whole whale hunt

was about. And Crush is like, oh, subjugating the white whale was

secondary, intriguing. Do you require assistance? And Suber is like, I

do, but frankly, I didn't expect that the hunt would exact this kind

of toll. And he's looking at the injured and then he says on top

of and then Willhelm cuts him off and says, in that case, why

not make use of this old man? And then he kneels before Subaru and

says, natzki, subaru dono with this subjugation. It was because of you

that I was able to carry out my reason for living all this time.

maybe a little confused, and he smiles awkwardly and is like, it was

and Cruse's like, you should hold onto that treasured sword for a while in

asks her if she's sure, and she says I told you I do not

he's gonna kind of cry at this, and he bows and says thank you.

Next we see Felix, Subaru, and Ram all sitting in the grass

and Felix says, why you can't move right? And Rem looks really concerned,

and Felix is like, as a user of healing magic, I can't

let you push yourself any further. You have to stay behind, and REM's

like but and then like she falls onto Super's chest and Super is like,
