Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, this is longtime football coach Derek Dooley.
- 0:03Speaker 2: And when I heard that Clay.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Travis was starting another media company, I thought to myself,
- 0:09Speaker 1: how in the world has this guy who had such
- 0:12Speaker 1: a bad haircut and sounded like he had marbles in
- 0:15Speaker 1: his mouth when he was asking me questions as a
- 0:18Speaker 1: young reporter become this successful? And then when I heard
- 0:22Speaker 1: that he was hiring these two knuckleheads to host a
- 0:24Speaker 1: morning show, I realized he must not be as successful
- 0:28Speaker 1: as I thought. Well, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the
- 0:31Speaker 1: Hutton and Withrow Show with Jonathan Hutton and Chad Withrow
- 0:35Speaker 1: on the Sport and State Network.
- 0:42Speaker 3: We are out of the gates on Sporting State. It's
- 0:45Speaker 3: Hutton and Withrow. He's Chad Withrow. I'm Jonathan Hutton. A
- 0:48Speaker 3: lot to get to this morning. Thank you, Derek Dooley.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Likes it so much, Chad. He's going to join us
- 0:54Speaker 3: in about an hour and a half right here to
- 0:56Speaker 3: get us kicked off on the morning. It would be
- 0:58Speaker 3: great to talk to the old head coach.
- 1:01Speaker 4: One thing we know about Derek Dooley, Hutton, is he
- 1:03Speaker 4: likes to talk to knuckleheads, as he just introed us
- 1:05Speaker 4: in that thing right there. Good news for us. He's
- 1:08Speaker 4: someone who's not opposed to talking to a knucklehead or two.
- 1:11Speaker 4: So Coach Dooley is going to join us a little
- 1:14Speaker 4: bit later. Always entertaining. I was talking with my cousin,
- 1:18Speaker 4: who's a huge Vols fan, and said no matter the
- 1:21Speaker 4: disappointment of the close losses in some of those teams,
- 1:25Speaker 4: Derek Dooley is like the girlfriend you can't quit. The
- 1:31Speaker 4: guy just always delivered entertainment at every press conference, and
- 1:35Speaker 4: I still look back at that era with fondness because
- 1:37Speaker 4: of the sound bites he provided as.
- 1:39Speaker 2: The Tennessee head coach. He will provide some for us today, too. Yes.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Last night's game provided some heartache for us with Hard
- 1:48Speaker 3: Rock Bet. We had some plays for both New England
- 1:52Speaker 3: and Seattle in different ways.
- 1:54Speaker 2: We'll get to that in a moment.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Hard Rock Bet is, of course, the sponsor of with
- 1:59Speaker 3: Sports State and Hutton & Withrow. And how about the
- 2:02Speaker 3: new distribution announcement? We are live right now on the
- 2:05Speaker 3: Daily Wire.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Well done.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I'm pumped about that and the partnership that's to come
- 2:10Speaker 3: with all of.
- 2:11Speaker 2: This, Jeff.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Yeah, Clay and Ben Shapiro getting stuff done, getting business done.
- 2:16Speaker 4: No surprise there. Happy to be a part of the
- 2:19Speaker 4: Daily Wire network. So if you're watching there, we welcome you.
- 2:24Speaker 4: We're going to have fun. That's what we try to
- 2:26Speaker 4: do on this show. We're going to give you opinion.
- 2:29Speaker 4: We're going to tell you about what's going on in
- 2:30Speaker 4: the world of sports. And we're going to do it, hopefully,
- 2:32Speaker 4: in an entertaining fashion. That's why we got Derek Dooley
- 2:35Speaker 4: coming on today, who's going to be very entertaining also.
- 2:38Speaker 4: But happy to partner with The Daily Wire. And, Hunter,
- 2:40Speaker 4: what we've always said is we want to be available
- 2:43Speaker 4: in as many places as possible for people to consume
- 2:46Speaker 4: the show. However they're going to consume it, we want
- 2:49Speaker 4: them to be able to find it. So this opens
- 2:52Speaker 4: us up to new avenues. of viewers, of people who
- 2:55Speaker 4: could go watch the show. So we're very happy about
- 2:58Speaker 4: it and really excited to hear that announcement yesterday with
- 3:01Speaker 4: Clay and Ben.
- 3:02Speaker 3: And the description of Sport and State, anything Clay would
- 3:05Speaker 3: be doing, anything we want to do, it's smart, original, funny, authentic.
- 3:10Speaker 3: And that's our goal each and every morning here across
- 3:14Speaker 3: the Sport and State Network. If you're on YouTube, we
- 3:16Speaker 3: welcome you. Join us in the chat. Same thing for Facebook,
- 3:19Speaker 3: wherever you may be watching. And give us a retweet
- 3:22Speaker 3: if you're on X this morning. Drew Locke, Chad, here
- 3:26Speaker 3: we go. So we made our picks for the NFL
- 3:30Speaker 3: at sportandstate.com. And my surprises, I guess, of the season,
- 3:36Speaker 3: I have the Patriots and the Bears missing the playoffs.
- 3:41Speaker 3: And it's due to a number of factors. Drew Locke,
- 3:45Speaker 3: excuse me, Drake May played so well last year without
- 3:50Speaker 3: much resources around him. They add A.J.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Brown. He gets hurt in this game.
- 3:56Speaker 3: And I'm sitting there going, this is looking okay for me,
- 4:00Speaker 3: one of the predictions at least.
- 4:01Speaker 2: And then.
- 4:04Speaker 3: After seeing Seattle come to Nashville with their backups and
- 4:08Speaker 3: play very well against the When Sam Darnold went down,
- 4:14Speaker 3: I'm thinking, they've got this. We've seen this show before.
- 4:19Speaker 3: And they're on 10-0.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I know. I mean, it felt like it was over.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I know.
- 4:26Speaker 3: And then, well, Drake May did what to your bet?
- 4:31Speaker 3: He completely screwed my bet.
- 4:33Speaker 4: My parlay was destroyed before it even began with Hard
- 4:36Speaker 4: Rock Bet because Drake May was terrible.
- 4:39Speaker 2: In the third quarter.
- 4:40Speaker 5: He was.
- 4:41Speaker 4: We're not going to sugarcoat things on this show, okay?
- 4:44Speaker 4: I need Drake May to be the guy worthy of
- 4:46Speaker 4: Diana Rossini's MVP vote. That's what I need in the
- 4:50Speaker 4: fourth quarter, okay? Drake May is being talked about as
- 4:54Speaker 4: the future franchise, not just Patriots quarterback. He was being
- 4:58Speaker 4: talked about as a future Tom Brady, as a future
- 5:01Speaker 4: face of the NFL at one point, okay?
- 5:04Speaker 2: He's getting A.J. Brown injured on a play.
- 5:08Speaker 4: He's throwing into traffic where I have no idea why
- 5:12Speaker 4: he would do it.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Romeo Dobbs, by the way, also huge disappointment. He had
- 5:15Speaker 2: a big drop.
- 5:17Speaker 4: But Drake makes a couple of big plays. Fourth and two,
- 5:20Speaker 4: he picks it up with his legs. Fourth and nine,
- 5:23Speaker 4: big throw to Matt Collins on that drive. You've got
- 5:26Speaker 4: your team in field goal position.
- 5:28Speaker 2: All you have to do is not turn it over.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I want the.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Patriots to go win the game in regulation and not
- 5:33Speaker 4: worry about overtime. But you cannot get that greedy. When
- 5:37Speaker 4: he threw that football, Hutton, I said, it's picked.
- 5:41Speaker 2: This thing is over. Why? Because it wasn't thrown out
- 5:44Speaker 2: of bounds.
- 5:45Speaker 4: You could tell he was throwing it in play the
- 5:48Speaker 4: way he threw it off of one foot. Just a
- 5:50Speaker 4: horrendous mistake by Drake May. Got to be better in
- 5:53Speaker 4: year three to start the season. You had the starting quarterback,
- 5:58Speaker 4: of a Super Bowl champion that beat you in the
- 6:01Speaker 4: last game of the NFL season a year ago go
- 6:04Speaker 4: down with a hip injury early in the game.
- 6:08Speaker 2: The loudest stadium in the NFL was silenced for the
- 6:11Speaker 2: majority of that game. It's quiet. Here's the other thing.
- 6:14Speaker 3: That interception you were talking about at the end. There
- 6:17Speaker 3: were actually two other huge errors on this. Both tackles
- 6:22Speaker 3: went low on blocks and whiffed. But the way they
- 6:24Speaker 3: did it was the play design. Normally on those situations,
- 6:27Speaker 3: you're going to see a quick pass. But there was
- 6:31Speaker 3: not a route by a receiver that was anywhere close
- 6:34Speaker 3: to the line of scrimmage. If you get the dump off,
- 6:37Speaker 3: it's a first down at least with what they had
- 6:39Speaker 3: in front of them. But every receiver goes towards the
- 6:42Speaker 3: end zone and there was no dump off. For whatever reason,
- 6:45Speaker 3: May lobs it up the way he did.
- 6:47Speaker 2: It was awful. What, three picks in the game?
- 6:50Speaker 3: But I'm thinking, man, what's the quarterback doing? But also,
- 6:55Speaker 3: the play design leaves him no outlet whenever both defensive
- 6:59Speaker 3: ends are howling down on him. He should have just
- 7:01Speaker 3: taken the sack and kicked the field goal. Well, or
- 7:05Speaker 3: just thrown it completely out of bounds.
- 7:06Speaker 2: He had a chance. Where he threw it, I thought
- 7:09Speaker 2: when he's starting to.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Throw, okay, he's going to throw out of bounds. They're
- 7:11Speaker 4: going to get to live to the next play. And instead,
- 7:14Speaker 4: he puts it in the field of play. And gets
- 7:17Speaker 4: picked off, which was just incredibly dumb by Drake May,
- 7:20Speaker 4: who's not a dumb football player. But, I mean, Hutton,
- 7:23Speaker 4: to your point about that Patriots schedule and how it's
- 7:26Speaker 4: not going to get any easier, I mean, that was
- 7:30Speaker 4: an opportunity to go on the road. Again, and this
- 7:33Speaker 4: is not me just talking because I lost my bet
- 7:36Speaker 4: in my parlay in that game. This is me talking
- 7:38Speaker 4: as a fan of the NFL. You're in Seattle, the
- 7:41Speaker 4: defending Super Bowl champion. Their starting quarterback goes down on
- 7:44Speaker 4: the first series of the season. You have them in
- 7:48Speaker 4: a surprise moment. You have a nice play to get
- 7:52Speaker 4: the pass interference for A.J. Brown on the flea flicker.
- 7:56Speaker 4: You go up 7-0. You go up 10-0. You're up 10-3.
- 8:00Speaker 4: You're inside of Seattle territory, driving to put the game
- 8:04Speaker 4: away early fourth quarter. And that's the first time you
- 8:07Speaker 4: throw it in a double coverage in harm's way. Ball's
- 8:10Speaker 4: tipped up, and they get the interception. And then it's
- 8:13Speaker 4: off to the races for the Seattle Seahawks.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I just.
- 8:16Speaker 4: The second interception was just bad. He throws it over
- 8:20Speaker 4: the middle, doesn't really see the safety. Safety undercuts it.
- 8:23Speaker 4: It's picked up. The first interception was, I'm going to
- 8:26Speaker 4: throw it up to Romeo Dobbs, praying.
- 8:29Speaker 2: That my guy goes up and makes a play. Another punt.
- 8:31Speaker 4: But there's two guys there. Also, no need to punt.
- 8:35Speaker 4: You're driving on the play. It wasn't like it was
- 8:39Speaker 4: third and 30, and you're throwing it up to the
- 8:42Speaker 4: end zone. Time and situation... and the stakes of that game,
- 8:48Speaker 4: and now knowing you should be 1-0, you should have
- 8:51Speaker 4: a win in Seattle under your belt, and instead you're 0-1,
- 8:54Speaker 4: and now, Hutton, that future schedule looks all the more
- 8:57Speaker 4: daunting because of that.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Well, see, here's what happened last year. They caught the
- 9:02Speaker 3: fourth-place schedule. So they're playing their fourth-place teams in the
- 9:08Speaker 3: crossover division and conference matchups, right?
- 9:12Speaker 2: So they not only benefit from that, most.
- 9:16Speaker 3: More than several times, they're catching teams that are coming
- 9:22Speaker 3: off of huge games where they lost key players. So
- 9:26Speaker 3: key players were inactive whenever they're taking on the Patriots. Now,
- 9:30Speaker 3: they took advantage of all of that. They won on
- 9:32Speaker 3: the road. They were excellent on the road. They were
- 9:35Speaker 3: a Mike Vrabel coach football team. And this year, after winning,
- 9:41Speaker 3: they have the first place schedule. They went from the
- 9:43Speaker 3: easiest to now the toughest team. And that's not going
- 9:47Speaker 3: to be any easy role.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Now, you add A.J.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Brown, he's likely, you know, they're saying ACL. If that's
- 9:54Speaker 3: the case, I mean, he's had the knee issue prior
- 9:56Speaker 3: when he was in Tennessee. That's... That was a key
- 10:00Speaker 3: cog to their offense and a redesign after seeing what
- 10:04Speaker 3: didn't help them win the Super Bowl.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And, you know, they missed out on that opportunity. Do
- 10:10Speaker 2: they get back? A lot of distractions there, and now
- 10:12Speaker 2: a lot of early injuries and bad decisions.
- 10:16Speaker 4: And let's also take our hat off to Drew Locke.
- 10:20Speaker 4: who's put in a tough spot, but made some big
- 10:22Speaker 4: clutch plays, even one running. Uh, I mean, look, I
- 10:26Speaker 4: thought he, especially in that fourth quarter played exceptionally well,
- 10:30Speaker 4: but the fourth down play call to Jackson Smith and
- 10:33Speaker 4: Jigba shout out to Chris Collinsworth, who called it said,
- 10:36Speaker 4: when you get these short yardage situations, this is your
- 10:39Speaker 4: one chance to get, uh, Jackson Smith and Jigba lined
- 10:42Speaker 4: up one-on-one and right. As he's saying that they hit
- 10:45Speaker 4: a play to him.
- 10:46Speaker 2: He catches it. He does the rest. Um, Big ups
- 10:50Speaker 2: to Drew Locke and what he was able to accomplish.
- 10:52Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 10:54Speaker 4: I just leave that game very disappointed in Drake May
- 10:59Speaker 4: that you had that Super Bowl performance, which was miserable,
- 11:02Speaker 4: aided by a miserable offensive line in that game.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And then you've got every opportunity.
- 11:09Speaker 4: You know in the NFL the margin for error is
- 11:12Speaker 4: so small that any quarterback injury is a death knell
- 11:17Speaker 4: for most teams. I would say outside of the San
- 11:20Speaker 4: Francisco 49ers, so it doesn't matter who you put at quarterback,
- 11:23Speaker 4: they're going to be the same team every single year.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Under Kyle Shanahan, every other team, when you lose your
- 11:28Speaker 4: starting quarterback, you have got to take advantage of that
- 11:32Speaker 4: and go win the football game. And they had every opportunity.
- 11:35Speaker 4: They're up 10-0 at one point. They're driving up 10-3.
- 11:39Speaker 4: They have a chance to at least tie it to
- 11:41Speaker 4: get to overtime late. And their star franchise quarterback, Diana
- 11:45Speaker 4: Rossini's pick, for most valuable player a year ago, lets
- 11:49Speaker 4: them down time and time again.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Very disappointing. No doubt Coach of the Year on the sideline, too,
- 11:53Speaker 2: for that team, right? No doubt.
- 11:56Speaker 4: No doubt her vote for Coach of the Year. And
- 11:57Speaker 4: I thought the Vrabel defense was good. They did enough
- 12:02Speaker 4: to win that football game. I think Drake May completely
- 12:04Speaker 4: let them down. That was a typical Vrabel game right there.
- 12:07Speaker 4: He's now 0-2 in openers for the Patriots as a
- 12:10Speaker 4: head coach.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And I'll say this, man.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Early on, I remember this was a trend, and Kelly
- 12:16Speaker 3: and and Ariel may touch on this coming up on
- 12:20Speaker 3: tilts later today. You take the under in these games
- 12:24Speaker 3: early in the NFL. Offenses really struggled last year, two
- 12:28Speaker 3: years now going. Early in the season, slow out of
- 12:31Speaker 3: the gate. That was the case last night. We'll see
- 12:34Speaker 3: if that's the case tonight. Maybe for the Rams, Niners,
- 12:39Speaker 3: we'll see. The difference in the travel decision is crazy
- 12:45Speaker 3: to me. The Niners have been over in Australia now
- 12:47Speaker 3: for 10 days. And the Rams stayed on Pacific time
- 12:55Speaker 3: and will travel roughly 30 hours on the plane in
- 13:00Speaker 3: a 72-hour span. It's like a high school football game, Chad,
- 13:05Speaker 3: where they get off the bus and go warm.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Up for 30 minutes and play.
- 13:09Speaker 4: We've been in a few of those where they're walking
- 13:10Speaker 4: out for a stretch an hour and a half before
- 13:12Speaker 4: the game and we're there getting ready for the game.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, same deal. Just going to Australia this time.
- 13:16Speaker 3: I've read where there are sleep specialists who really, they're
- 13:20Speaker 3: really back and forth. It's like a 50-50 split on
- 13:23Speaker 3: what's going to work.
- 13:25Speaker 2: So, we'll see.
- 13:26Speaker 3: It's fascinating that each coach chose a different way to
- 13:29Speaker 3: do this. And, you know, we're not going to see
- 13:32Speaker 3: Aaron Donald. He didn't travel. So, that debut waits. But,
- 13:37Speaker 3: a big divisional matchup to kick things off in their
- 13:40Speaker 3: first one in Australia.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't imagine how doing the high school football
- 13:47Speaker 4: method would be beneficial to the team who's been embedded
- 13:51Speaker 4: in the country.
- 13:51Speaker 2: For as long as they've been. It just feels like
- 13:54Speaker 2: there's almost.
- 13:55Speaker 4: More pressure on the 49ers who invested that much to
- 13:58Speaker 4: go and live in Australia for that long to do it.
- 14:02Speaker 4: You also look like Either coach is going to look
- 14:06Speaker 4: like a genius for winning this game.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:08Speaker 4: Because if the 49ers win, it's going to be, well,
- 14:11Speaker 4: of course. They invested the resources into being there longer.
- 14:15Speaker 4: They got used to the time zone. They've been practicing
- 14:17Speaker 4: in Australia. Of course they beat the Rams. And then
- 14:20Speaker 4: if Sean McVay and the Rams win, without Aaron Donald,
- 14:23Speaker 4: who continues to need to ramp it up before they
- 14:25Speaker 4: put him in a game, well, the thought is going
- 14:28Speaker 4: to be, my goodness, these guys just flew in and
- 14:30Speaker 4: flew out and beat their ass. And now they're back home,
- 14:34Speaker 4: and they won that game against the 49ers. So two
- 14:36Speaker 4: very different narratives could come out of this game tonight,
- 14:39Speaker 4: depending on who wins.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, when the Titans played over in London,
- 14:42Speaker 3: you and I went to that. That was a quick turn.
- 14:45Speaker 3: And teams aren't really staying over there. Jacksonville does because
- 14:47Speaker 3: they want to have a team there. But teams don't
- 14:50Speaker 3: really stay the week anymore. Ten days is quite the trip.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I mean, they shipped a lot of their equipment back
- 14:56Speaker 3: in April via cargo ship. So, I mean, it's setting
- 15:01Speaker 3: up their own facility, all that. The practice facility, the
- 15:06Speaker 3: NFL revamped the practice facility to make sure it met
- 15:10Speaker 3: the player association requirements. So it's not like this is
- 15:15Speaker 3: a one and done. Let's put it that way. I
- 15:16Speaker 3: don't know if it's always going to be these two teams.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Seattle's also one of the sponsor teams for this area
- 15:21Speaker 3: of the world. But they're locked in because they have
- 15:25Speaker 3: the ownership rights to the flag football promotion there.
- 15:27Speaker 4: So I don't know. I'm not I'm no world traveler.
- 15:31Speaker 4: You know, I'm not getting in a plane all the
- 15:32Speaker 4: time for that long.
- 15:34Speaker 2: And doing these things.
- 15:35Speaker 4: I don't know how used to it anybody gets when
- 15:38Speaker 4: you're going that many time zones, like however many times
- 15:40Speaker 4: you do it, it's still going to affect you. But
- 15:42Speaker 4: that Titans trip to London. Yes, that we were on.
- 15:46Speaker 4: I don't think I ever got my footing completely right.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Like I wasn't completely off the entire time. Like I realized, OK,
- 15:53Speaker 4: now is day and now is night. But you almost
- 15:55Speaker 4: feel like you've got this fuzz on your brain the
- 15:59Speaker 4: whole time. You know, like your body's tingling a little
- 16:01Speaker 4: bit when you get there. Because I did the overnight
- 16:04Speaker 4: also where I end up landing. You leave at like
- 16:07Speaker 4: 7 o'clock. And with the time jump, you're landing at
- 16:10Speaker 4: like 9.30, 10 a.m.? That's right.
- 16:12Speaker 3: You're going into a portal future. Yeah, I don't think
- 16:15Speaker 3: I slept more than an hour on the flight. So
- 16:18Speaker 3: by the time you get there, I remember getting to
- 16:20Speaker 3: my hotel, having like an hour before we had to
- 16:22Speaker 3: get to where we were doing our.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Show, laying on the bed.
- 16:25Speaker 4: And falling into the deepest possible sleep within 30 seconds
- 16:30Speaker 4: and waking myself up 30 minutes later and being like,
- 16:33Speaker 4: I cannot do this. I have to drag myself out
- 16:36Speaker 4: of bed, take a cold shower, and walk around the city.
- 16:39Speaker 4: And I just remember walking around London by myself, seeing
- 16:42Speaker 4: the sights. I went to the Tower of London, did
- 16:44Speaker 4: a tour by myself because I could not fall asleep
- 16:47Speaker 4: at that time or I was going to be wrecked
- 16:49Speaker 4: the entire trip and then stayed up until that night
- 16:52Speaker 4: and then got back.
- 16:53Speaker 2: On a little bit more of a normal schedule.
- 16:54Speaker 4: But when you do something that's that quick, going back
- 16:57Speaker 4: to the Rams and that quick of a turnaround, I
- 16:59Speaker 4: don't know that you ever really adjust. which I guess
- 17:02Speaker 4: could kind of be an okay thing. You know, if
- 17:04Speaker 4: you never allow your jet lag to sink in.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I don't know. We'll see.
- 17:08Speaker 3: That's tough, though, man. You've got to stretch or eat.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Imagine all the food these dudes are eating on the flight.
- 17:13Speaker 3: What is it, an 11-hour flight to London? This is 17.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Oh, it's not that long to London. It was probably
- 17:19Speaker 4: like seven, eight hours maybe. This was way longer.
- 17:25Speaker 3: The Titans staff was handing out melatonin to all the
- 17:28Speaker 3: players because it was a double-decker flight we were on.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I couldn't sleep.
- 17:33Speaker 3: You're anticipating everything. I would do the same thing because
- 17:39Speaker 3: the whole storyline has been the quick turn. The Rams
- 17:41Speaker 3: players are talking about that. It's on their mind. I
- 17:44Speaker 3: wouldn't be able to sleep.
- 17:45Speaker 2: I can tell you some of the movies I watched
- 17:47Speaker 2: on the flights to and from. Chappaquiddick.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Was one of the planes that I watched. I watched
- 17:53Speaker 4: Beirut with Jon Hamm, a little-known movie. I watched Super
- 17:58Speaker 4: Troopers 2 on the way back. I didn't even know
- 18:00Speaker 4: there was a Super Troopers 3, or maybe it's already
- 18:03Speaker 4: out on streaming.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 18:04Speaker 4: But I was enlightened to a lot of different cinema
- 18:07Speaker 4: options that I didn't know existed on both flights to London.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Oh, man. I didn't know there was a Super Trooper 3.
- 18:15Speaker 2: There is, you're right.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Very much like the first, not quite as good, but
- 18:21Speaker 4: I think they're doing a Super Troopers 3.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I'll be watching on my next flight. It was released
- 18:26Speaker 3: last month, August 7th, 2026. There you go.
- 18:28Speaker 4: I'm sure you can find it on streaming right now.
- 18:31Speaker 2: U.S.
- 18:31Speaker 5: Only.
- 18:34Speaker 2: U.S. only.
- 18:35Speaker 4: It seems like a very Canadian movie, too. I don't
- 18:38Speaker 4: know why it's not available in Canada also. It's the Vermont—
- 18:42Speaker 4: State troopers, you know, it makes sense. They do battle
- 18:45Speaker 4: the Canadians in the first two movies a couple times.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Well, technically Canada is now a state of the United
- 18:50Speaker 2: States of America, right? It's true.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Maybe they're looking at it that way. Hey, we've got
- 18:54Speaker 3: one big thing on every NFL game coming up. Derek
- 18:56Speaker 3: Dooley will join us in about an hour and ten
- 19:00Speaker 3: minutes or so from now. When we come back, the
- 19:02Speaker 3: Tennessee Titans are talking tough. Jeffrey Simmons did it to
- 19:06Speaker 3: the Seattle Seahawks in a joint practice, and now it's
- 19:10Speaker 3: one of their offensive tackles. through the head coach, but
- 19:15Speaker 3: they've got to back it up. And they're playing the
- 19:18Speaker 3: New York Jets. It's next, here on Hutton & Withrow,
- 19:21Speaker 3: presented by Hard Rock Bet. This is Hutton & Withrow,

- 20:20Speaker 3: Ted, one thing I've noticed in coaching recently is in
- 20:24Speaker 3: the era that we're in, there are coaches now that
- 20:28Speaker 3: are willing to Blur the line a bit in what
- 20:32Speaker 3: they will say in front of a microphone. Maybe some
- 20:35Speaker 3: drop the F-bomb or BS or whatever it might be.
- 20:39Speaker 2: We saw that.
- 20:40Speaker 3: You and I have had coaches on from Florida to
- 20:43Speaker 3: Auburn to Kentucky that are willing to just be honest
- 20:46Speaker 3: and real with how they talk.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Cursing is more widely accepted now than ever when it
- 20:51Speaker 4: comes to official coach-player settings.
- 20:54Speaker 2: For both of them. And Robert Sala has brought that
- 20:58Speaker 2: attitude a bit....
- 21:01Speaker 3: To the Titans, meaning like the attitudes behind the scenes, absolutely.
- 21:05Speaker 3: But I'm saying forward facing as the face of the organization,
- 21:09Speaker 3: Salah is the one who has asked questions every single practice.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Players get it every now and then. Salah's the representative
- 21:16Speaker 3: every single day. And he's trying to send a message
- 21:20Speaker 3: through the media that, as well as through the locker room,
- 21:24Speaker 3: about how they want to be fast, violent, everything that
- 21:28Speaker 3: every coach might preach, but not every team executes. And
- 21:34Speaker 3: for the longest time, it's just been Jeffrey Simmons, who's
- 21:38Speaker 3: the grizzly bear of the team.
- 21:41Speaker 2: J.C.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Latham was drafted to be that guy. And last year,
- 21:45Speaker 3: we didn't see that. In fact, it's Salah, who we're
- 21:49Speaker 3: going to get to in a moment. We're going to
- 21:50Speaker 3: start with Latham. It's Salah who has watched the film
- 21:54Speaker 3: of the team he just inherited and noticed that the
- 21:57Speaker 3: offensive line wasn't helping pick up a player off the
- 22:00Speaker 3: ground or how the cohesion was with their rookie quarterback. Well,
- 22:04Speaker 3: there's been a demeanor change in J.C.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Latham.
- 22:08Speaker 3: The storyline has been if Jeffrey Simmons has been getting
- 22:11Speaker 3: in a fight, Latham's on the other end of it.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Even last year during games, they were bickering at stuff
- 22:18Speaker 3: because Simmons is calling him out. He wants Latham to
- 22:21Speaker 3: achieve the expectation level that comes with being the 11th
- 22:26Speaker 3: overall pick. Because he knows he's really good. He's a
- 22:29Speaker 3: giant of a human being. Well, he's at right tackle now,
- 22:32Speaker 3: which is his position of note, because that's his original position.
- 22:36Speaker 3: He started at left, now at right. And over the last,
- 22:41Speaker 3: I don't know, six, seven months, there has been a
- 22:44Speaker 3: tone that's different than the one we saw last year.
- 22:47Speaker 3: And this is him in the locker room, Teron Davenport,
- 22:51Speaker 3: with the video here. And Teron is bringing up a
- 22:54Speaker 3: moment where Cam Ward took a violent hit during the
- 22:57Speaker 3: Texans game last year, and no one did anything about it.
- 23:01Speaker 3: And he asked Latham a question about it, and here's
- 23:04Speaker 3: the response.
- 23:05Speaker 6: We ran a play where Fernando was out in space,
- 23:10Speaker 6: and he was on Monte. He was blocking his ass off.
- 23:13Speaker 6: It was like 40 yards down the field. To this point,
- 23:16Speaker 6: ball's out. I mean, Tony steps out of bounds, so
- 23:19Speaker 6: we cover it. We end up going back to the huddle,
- 23:21Speaker 6: but Fernando's still finishing, and he gets into it with Tay,
- 23:25Speaker 6: and we're all turning back to the huddle. And Coach
- 23:28Speaker 6: pointed out that if any of us gets into it,
- 23:31Speaker 6: we're all getting into it. We're all stepping up, and
- 23:33Speaker 6: we all kind of felt that kind of fire that
- 23:35Speaker 6: lit under us that not only was that a moment
- 23:37Speaker 6: that we needed to have our guys back, but that
- 23:39Speaker 6: was one of our rookies, you know what I mean?
- 23:40Speaker 6: And that moment like kind of solidified, like, Hey, if
- 23:43Speaker 6: anybody picks on us, like we all got to step
- 23:44Speaker 6: for each other. So, you know, I think about, like
- 23:46Speaker 6: you said, those moments for sure. Every single day of like,
- 23:48Speaker 6: you just can't go from the bullshit.
- 23:52Speaker 3: And he also said at one point in there, you
- 23:53Speaker 3: can't be anybody's bitch. That's the key phrase there because that's,
- 23:58Speaker 3: that's what Sala is trying to get out of the line.
- 24:02Speaker 3: He wants a bunch of Jeffrey Simmons up front, protecting
- 24:06Speaker 3: the second year quarterback and running the football. Latham is, is,
- 24:11Speaker 3: He's a bulldozer in the preseason game in San Francisco.
- 24:13Speaker 3: He's talking trash. And I'm like, where's this guy been?
- 24:17Speaker 3: So Teron Davenport of ESPN, ESPN.com, covers the team, went
- 24:22Speaker 3: and asked Salah about all of this.
- 24:25Speaker 2: And here's the head coach. I do think.
- 24:29Speaker 5: When you watch tape and you see your quarterback on
- 24:32Speaker 5: the ground, just take a look at the offensive line.
- 24:34Speaker 2: To see what their mindset is. I think that's real.
- 24:37Speaker 5: I think when your back is on the ground and
- 24:39Speaker 5: your offensive line isn't like... I just think when your
- 24:41Speaker 5: offensive line is not there.
- 24:42Speaker 2: To be the big brother, to pick up your teammate,
- 24:44Speaker 2: to pick up your little brother, I think it's bullshit.
- 24:47Speaker 2: It's not there.
- 24:48Speaker 5: And, you know, we'll always go... All organizations go by
- 24:54Speaker 5: their O-line and D-line. And the expectation for our O-line,
- 24:58Speaker 5: no different than anyone else's, is to lead the charge.
- 25:01Speaker 2: And protect the team.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Chad, I look at this as going into week one.
- 25:11Speaker 3: We find out if this is the new era and
- 25:14Speaker 3: the theme of fast and violent and all gas, no break.
- 25:20Speaker 3: They're playing the New York Jets. Both of these teams
- 25:24Speaker 3: have been in the basement of the National Football League.
- 25:27Speaker 3: And if you want to crawl out of that, you
- 25:29Speaker 3: beat this team. And you do it with this attitude.
- 25:33Speaker 3: We find out pretty soon if the Titans are about
- 25:37Speaker 3: this life or these guys don't want to fight. Of
- 25:43Speaker 3: course teams want to improve as the season progresses. But
- 25:48Speaker 3: to do that, you beat the Jets in week one.
- 25:50Speaker 3: and win for the first time in week one at
- 25:52Speaker 3: home in 15 years.
- 25:54Speaker 2: It's been a while.
- 25:56Speaker 3: And again, it's a layup of a game if you're
- 25:59Speaker 3: talking that talk and you actually back it up.
- 26:03Speaker 4: So who was the coach of those New York Jets
- 26:06Speaker 4: that were in the basement you were talking about for
- 26:08Speaker 4: a number of years?
- 26:09Speaker 3: Oh, there have been a number of them. There have
- 26:11Speaker 3: been a number of them. But Robert Sala was one
- 26:13Speaker 3: of those coaches, right? Yes, and the year Aaron Rodgers signed, yes.
- 26:18Speaker 3: And they got fired in week six or seven, maybe
- 26:21Speaker 3: in year two of Rogers?
- 26:22Speaker 4: I want to believe. I want to believe this is real.
- 26:27Speaker 4: I can't believe this is real until I see that
- 26:30Speaker 4: it's real.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Right. Okay.
- 26:32Speaker 4: This is an example of, and Mark is going to
- 26:35Speaker 4: laugh at when I say this expression again, don't tell
- 26:38Speaker 4: me about the labor pains and show me the baby.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:42Speaker 4: I don't need to hear about the childbirth. I need
- 26:44Speaker 4: to see the child. The child is a physical football
- 26:49Speaker 4: team that, instead of running their mouth in the preseason,
- 26:53Speaker 4: goes out there and beats somebody's ass in.
- 26:56Speaker 2: A football game. You play Gino Smith.
- 26:58Speaker 4: That's what we need to see from the Tennessee Titans
- 27:02Speaker 4: in week one.
- 27:03Speaker 2: All of this talk is nothing to me.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Because the one thing that I keep in my mind
- 27:07Speaker 4: at all times is that this is still an organization
- 27:10Speaker 4: so soft that they removed a media credential for someone
- 27:15Speaker 4: who's too critical of back-to-back three and 14 teams.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yep.
- 27:19Speaker 4: And a head coach talked to the media about it.
- 27:22Speaker 4: Not a PR person. I'm not saying the head coach
- 27:24Speaker 4: made the decision, but it was a head coach who
- 27:26Speaker 4: wouldn't address the media about it. Like, I don't... I
- 27:31Speaker 4: don't care about what they're saying right now. I think
- 27:36Speaker 4: the stuff you're bringing here is very valid. I like it.
- 27:40Speaker 4: The competitor in me, someone who loves the sport of football,
- 27:44Speaker 4: all of that, I love everything that they're saying. I
- 27:48Speaker 4: refuse to believe it until I see it with this team.
- 27:51Speaker 4: I think it's a lot of tough talk for a
- 27:53Speaker 4: team and an organization, an organization that is far more
- 27:57Speaker 4: concerned with marketing and the business side than they are
- 28:00Speaker 4: the football side. And the marketing and business side can't
- 28:03Speaker 4: even sell tickets to the home opener, as you showed
- 28:07Speaker 4: us last night.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Look, I'm agreeing with you on this. I'm saying they've
- 28:11Speaker 3: got to back it up. You beat the Jets instead
- 28:13Speaker 3: of talk about Week 18 improvement. But Sala has backed
- 28:16Speaker 3: this up with his defensive teams. And he went back
- 28:20Speaker 3: to San Francisco after he was fired. He pointed this out.
- 28:23Speaker 3: He wanted to be more involved on both sides of
- 28:25Speaker 3: the football. And even Christian McCaffrey pointed out how valuable
- 28:30Speaker 3: he was to the team in the offensive meeting rooms
- 28:34Speaker 3: and just on the practice field. I want to see
- 28:36Speaker 3: if that carries over, too, and how he's changed his
- 28:38Speaker 3: message to get past.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Whatever happened with the New York Jets. But here are
- 28:44Speaker 2: the same old Jets, and.
- 28:47Speaker 3: The fans are saying, Chad, these are the same old
- 28:50Speaker 3: Titans until the new stadium opens because they are promoting
- 28:57Speaker 3: the death march of old Nissan Stadium, a stadium they
- 29:01Speaker 3: can't wait to tear down. They're acting like fans care
- 29:05Speaker 3: about sitting upper deck in the sun with the toughest
- 29:10Speaker 3: ticket to sell in sports. Upper deck of the sun,
- 29:13Speaker 3: bad weather during football season. You can sit on your couch.
- 29:16Speaker 3: You don't have to sit in traffic. You don't have
- 29:17Speaker 3: to pay to park. You don't have to go through
- 29:19Speaker 3: the construction lines. instead of marketing exactly what they're trying
- 29:24Speaker 3: to build for the new era Titans. They've got the
- 29:26Speaker 3: number one quarterback, the number one draft pick at quarterback.
- 29:30Speaker 3: They have two first round picks that no one's heard of,
- 29:33Speaker 3: heard from. I wouldn't be able to pick out their voices.
- 29:35Speaker 3: They're not available. Fans don't know these players. Two first
- 29:39Speaker 3: round picks. from this year's draft. They have, I believe, what,
- 29:43Speaker 3: six or seven other first-round picks scattered across the roster,
- 29:47Speaker 3: two of them on the offensive line. They have a
- 29:49Speaker 3: new head coach, a new offensive coordinator, a new defensive coordinator,
- 29:53Speaker 3: and they have C.J.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Tukey coming back.
- 29:57Speaker 3: And they have an opportunity to win a football game
- 29:59Speaker 3: for once early in the season instead of against the
- 30:02Speaker 3: Scrubs in December when it doesn't matter unless you don't
- 30:05Speaker 3: want the number one overall pick and you pretend like
- 30:08Speaker 3: it matters to next year's team when you have 70
- 30:10Speaker 3: new players anyway because you sucked. And their marketing, hey,
- 30:15Speaker 3: come on out and check out the old stadium one
- 30:17Speaker 3: last time.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Why? Prove it. The problem, though, is next year's week
- 30:24Speaker 2: one will be sold out.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Because that's the new stadium, and that's the era that
- 30:28Speaker 3: they're really focused on.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I think the rallying cry, and you
- 30:33Speaker 4: laid it out well with the marketing part of this.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Nashville does not care about this team right now. That's
- 30:39Speaker 4: what they're telling you.
- 30:41Speaker 2: They don't care. They want to see it. It is
- 30:44Speaker 2: put up or shut up time. How about this?
- 30:46Speaker 4: Instead of put up or shut up, put up and
- 30:48Speaker 4: shut up. I don't need to hear the tough talk.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Until you go out and show it. And then if
- 30:54Speaker 4: you want to go out and show it, I said
- 30:56Speaker 4: this about J.C.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Latham's comments. I love J.C. Latham's comments.
- 30:59Speaker 4: I want to see him bury someone into the turf
- 31:02Speaker 4: at Nissan Stadium in game one and come back in
- 31:05Speaker 4: the locker room and say, you know what, we didn't
- 31:06Speaker 4: talk a lot about it because we had a bad
- 31:08Speaker 4: taste in our mouths after last season and we wanted
- 31:11Speaker 4: to go show that we could physically beat somebody up.
- 31:14Speaker 2: And that's what we did in this game and that
- 31:15Speaker 2: is our goal in every game.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Boom.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I would love to hear that after they beat the Jets.
- 31:20Speaker 4: But all of this stuff, everything we're playing on this show,
- 31:24Speaker 4: all the tough talk from Robert Sala, all the tough
- 31:26Speaker 4: talk by J.C. Latham, them expelling media members for criticizing them,
- 31:31Speaker 4: everything else that's gone on, it will be used as
- 31:34Speaker 4: a weapon.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Against them if they don't beat the Jets.
- 31:36Speaker 4: We're going to go back and play this same clip
- 31:39Speaker 4: and say, where was that when Geno Smith was beating you?
- 31:42Speaker 4: Where was all this talk when Cam Ward, how did
- 31:45Speaker 4: Cam Ward get sacked five times against this Jets defense
- 31:49Speaker 4: if you were going to be so tough on the
- 31:51Speaker 4: offensive line? That is why Sunday is imperative for this
- 31:55Speaker 4: Titans team and the entire organization moving forward.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Here's why it's also imperative.
- 32:01Speaker 3: If you want this team to be about the team
- 32:04Speaker 3: on the field, laying out all the assets that they've
- 32:07Speaker 3: used and spent to put this team on the field,
- 32:11Speaker 3: They need to win this game because if they don't,
- 32:14Speaker 3: it's going to be another promotion about the old stadium
- 32:18Speaker 3: before they blow it up and put TPAC there and
- 32:22Speaker 3: the city doesn't allow parking because they want you to
- 32:24Speaker 3: park on the other side of the river for Metropolis
- 32:27Speaker 3: and everything under the roof is controlled by the team.
- 32:30Speaker 3: If you don't want this season to be about Titans
- 32:33Speaker 3: entertainment and you want Titans football, they've got to win
- 32:36Speaker 3: this game because it'll be crickets. It'll just be For
- 32:41Speaker 3: other road fans, fans from other cities coming to Nashville
- 32:47Speaker 3: for the for the death march of Nissan Stadium. And
- 32:51Speaker 3: it's a what, three and a half point spread right now.
- 32:54Speaker 3: And it's already been that for multiple years now.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's been it's been a preferred destination for all
- 32:59Speaker 4: visiting fans and Titans fans would rather stay at home
- 33:02Speaker 4: and watch the team lose at home. than trying to
- 33:05Speaker 4: pay for parking and all that. And, Hunt, your point
- 33:07Speaker 4: about the parking and getting to game, it's going to
- 33:10Speaker 4: be infinitely harder with the new stadium. The new stadium
- 33:13Speaker 4: is going to be nicer. You're not going to have
- 33:15Speaker 4: to deal with weather and all of those things, but
- 33:17Speaker 4: infinitely harder for ingress, egress, parking. It's going to be
- 33:21Speaker 4: more expensive. It's going to be all those things. This
- 33:24Speaker 4: team needs to win and put a better product on
- 33:27Speaker 4: the field. Speaking of good products, by the way, O'Charlie's
- 33:30Speaker 4: made a hell of a chicken tender. It was the
- 33:33Speaker 4: chicken tender of my youth. And I'm very saddened to
- 33:35Speaker 4: see that O'Charlie's, a Southern staple, especially in Middle Tennessee,
- 33:40Speaker 4: is closing all their doors. What an abrupt closure. You
- 33:43Speaker 4: would think someone could come in. I don't know, maybe
- 33:45Speaker 4: Clay Travis. Someone with a lot of money that could
- 33:48Speaker 4: come in and save this brand. That could buy O'Charlie's
- 33:51Speaker 4: back and keep O'Charlie's.
- 33:53Speaker 2: In Middle Tennessee.
- 33:54Speaker 4: And I also didn't know that O'Charlie's were in Virginia
- 33:56Speaker 4: and Ohio and other states too.
- 33:57Speaker 2: They had no idea. But man, I was saddened by
- 34:00Speaker 2: this news. So it was.
- 34:03Speaker 2: The news, it was Warren County Sports Authority that actually
- 34:05Speaker 2: broke this. Are you serious?
- 34:07Speaker 3: Yes. There was a connection with O'Charlie's with a manager
- 34:10Speaker 3: that was being laid off. And I think they had
- 34:13Speaker 3: previously closed like 17 other locations recently and then just
- 34:19Speaker 3: pulled the plug officially yesterday as of Wednesday. My favorite was,
- 34:23Speaker 3: and I don't know the whole background there, but yeah, man,
- 34:27Speaker 3: our family would always go to O'Charlie's. You know, that's
- 34:30Speaker 3: where the Jeff Fisher show was for the longest time. Oh,
- 34:32Speaker 3: Charlie's and Brentwood. But like the potato salad.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Potato soup, sorry. Not the potato salad. Potato soup. Along
- 34:38Speaker 3: with the chicken tenders.
- 34:39Speaker 2: The rolls.
- 34:40Speaker 3: I haven't had rolls at a restaurant in a long time. Those,
- 34:44Speaker 3: must have. And the sweet tea was legit.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Really, really good.
- 34:48Speaker 4: I think the last time I ate there, I remember
- 34:49Speaker 4: getting home from the Super Bowl. I think that we
- 34:52Speaker 4: went immediately to an Oh Charlie's close to our house.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Right after that was the last time I had to.
- 34:56Speaker 4: I want to rush out, but I think they're closing...
- 34:59Speaker 4: uh this week or is it today i think i
- 35:02Speaker 4: was like can we at least have a send-off i
- 35:04Speaker 4: mean if you're gonna close the doors like give us
- 35:06Speaker 4: a month notice.
- 35:07Speaker 2: So people can rush out to oh that's the thing
- 35:09Speaker 2: it's like to enjoy.
- 35:10Speaker 3: The experience one more time why i mean they did
- 35:13Speaker 3: they not give their employees time to find another gig
- 35:17Speaker 3: i mean i i'll send you the link where you
- 35:19Speaker 3: can hear the the the uh the report um yeah
- 35:24Speaker 3: uh Reporter there in work out, Kelly, she broke the
- 35:29Speaker 3: news the night before. She said, they're going to shut
- 35:31Speaker 3: down tomorrow.
- 35:34Speaker 4: For years and years, though, O'Charlie's was the agreeable sit-down
- 35:38Speaker 4: restaurant for families, for kids and parents. Okay, yeah, we'll
- 35:42Speaker 4: go there because we can find something that we like.
- 35:45Speaker 4: And now that O'Charlie's is no more, I don't know
- 35:48Speaker 4: what to believe. At Nissan Stadium, the old one's going away.
- 35:50Speaker 4: O'Charlie's is dead. I don't know where to go from here.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Is it Logan's that steps up? I don't know who
- 35:56Speaker 2: that is. I don't know who that is. I don't
- 35:58Speaker 2: know which restaurant. I don't know who that is either.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I don't know who that is. Texas Roadhouse?
- 36:02Speaker 4: Texas Roadhouse isn't going to make you think of Middle Tennessee.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I'm trying to think which.
- 36:06Speaker 3: One of these I've been to most recently. I haven't
- 36:09Speaker 3: been to an Olive Garden in a long time. I
- 36:10Speaker 3: don't know what it would be.
- 36:12Speaker 4: I've never in my life thought... Now, see, if he
- 36:15Speaker 4: closes today, you and I need to go. I have
- 36:18Speaker 4: never in my life thought, I really want to go
- 36:21Speaker 4: to an Olive Garden to eat. I've never had a
- 36:25Speaker 4: bad experience there. It's never been awful or anything. I've
- 36:29Speaker 4: just never, like us with Arby's, where we crave Arby's.
- 36:33Speaker 4: When we want the meats, we got to go get
- 36:35Speaker 4: the meats. I've never in my life thought to myself,
- 36:38Speaker 4: you know where we should go that I'm really craving.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Is Olive Garden. I've never felt that way.
- 36:43Speaker 4: O'Charlie's, you can tell me, let's go have O'Charlie's chicken
- 36:46Speaker 4: tenders and I can relive my childhood. And I would
- 36:49Speaker 4: go do that 10 out of 10 times. But apparently
- 36:52Speaker 4: now we're not even allowed to do that. Again, I've
- 36:55Speaker 4: implored Clay Travis to hire Diana Rossini. I've implored him
- 36:59Speaker 4: to do a number of things. Clay, I know you've
- 37:02Speaker 4: looked into buying radio stations before.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Wink, wink.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Now you need to buy a restaurant chain. Let's purchase O'Charlie's.
- 37:10Speaker 4: We can make them a sport and state branded O'Charlie's.
- 37:14Speaker 4: We can do a lot of different things.
- 37:15Speaker 2: O'Clay's. But if Clay can be the savior. Remember when Clay...
- 37:19Speaker 2: What was the place on Broadway that everybody was mad about?
- 37:22Speaker 2: Paradise Park. Paradise Park. Thank you.
- 37:24Speaker 4: I couldn't remember the name of the place, but everyone
- 37:26Speaker 4: was up in arms like, Clay has destroyed Broadway.
- 37:28Speaker 2: The fabric of it is dead now that Paradise Park
- 37:31Speaker 2: has gone away. Clay.
- 37:33Speaker 4: I'm talking to Clay right now, who's probably on his
- 37:35Speaker 4: way out of town somewhere. Clay, this is your chance
- 37:38Speaker 4: to regain the street cred you lost when you destroyed
- 37:42Speaker 4: Paradise Park. And now you can buy O'Charlie's, you can
- 37:45Speaker 4: restore O'Charlie's to the people, and suddenly you are the
- 37:50Speaker 4: man of the people. Bring back the O'Charlie's chicken tenders,
- 37:54Speaker 4: the rolls, all of it.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Clay, only you have the power to do this. Please
- 37:59Speaker 3: make it happen. O'Claize or O'Travis, what would you call it?
- 38:04Speaker 4: I think Clay's smart enough to keep the brand the
- 38:06Speaker 4: way it is, but it would definitely be O'Clay's if
- 38:10Speaker 4: he had to make a name change.
- 38:11Speaker 2: That's for sure. Yeah. Bring it back. At least one
- 38:14Speaker 2: of them. It's like, it's like blockbuster going away for us.
- 38:17Speaker 2: ODBAPS will be the name of the restaurant. ODBAPS. Where
- 38:20Speaker 2: are we going tonight? We're going to ODBAPS for dinner.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Hey, coming up, we've got one big thing for NFL games.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Week one is here. Soon, many of these fan bases
- 38:31Speaker 3: will be like the Titans fan base. Lethargic in wanting
- 38:34Speaker 3: their teams to prove it. But right now, everyone has hope.
- 38:37Speaker 3: We'll discuss who does and who really doesn't. Plus, Derek
- 38:41Speaker 3: Dooley coming up in under an hour from right now.
- 38:43Speaker 3: It's Honey Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet. Honey Withrow

- 39:05Speaker 3: sit across the desk from a banker who's talking down
- 39:07Speaker 3: to you.
- 39:08Speaker 4: No, you're going to talk to a person that cares
- 39:10Speaker 4: about your situation, that cares about how you're juggling credit
- 39:14Speaker 4: card bills and debt right now. And they're going to
- 39:16Speaker 4: tell you this, date the rate, marry the house. You
- 39:19Speaker 4: need to put that on a t-shirt, by the way.
- 39:21Speaker 4: Get the house you want right now, refinance when rates

- 39:54Speaker 4: All borrowers must qualify. This advertisement is not a promise
- 39:57Speaker 4: to make alone. I can promise you right now, Hutton,
- 40:00Speaker 4: that the YouTube chat.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Is blowing up.
- 40:03Speaker 4: There's a lot of talk about Captain D's right now.
- 40:07Speaker 4: There's some talk about Hooters in the chat. Hooters is
- 40:11Speaker 4: making a comeback, by the way. Mark is talking about Fuddruckers.
- 40:16Speaker 4: You know, Clay's doing it. David is saying Chad is
- 40:18Speaker 4: really good at spending Clay's money.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yes. Yes, I am.
- 40:21Speaker 4: I try to appeal on this show all the time,
- 40:23Speaker 4: telling Clay how to spend his millions. And I think
- 40:26Speaker 4: O'Charlie's would be a worthy investment.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Do you remember Mr. Gaddy's? Oh, remember?
- 40:31Speaker 4: It's still around, I believe. Or are they closed too?
- 40:35Speaker 4: I think there's one or two. There was one in
- 40:36Speaker 4: Gatlinburg for a while too, or Pigeon Forge. Oh.
- 40:39Speaker 2: One of the two. Mr. Gaddy's. The GOATs of all
- 40:42Speaker 2: pizza buffets. I mean, come on. Are you kidding me?
- 40:45Speaker 4: That was like the trip after baseball games and tournaments
- 40:49Speaker 4: and everything else.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Chad, you always give the disclaimer super fast. We're going
- 40:56Speaker 3: to go rapid fire on the NFL games here. It
- 41:00Speaker 3: won't be that quick, so well done. I think you
- 41:04Speaker 3: can do it, Hutton. I think you can do it.
- 41:06Speaker 3: I think you can go that quick. Let's get a
- 41:08Speaker 3: better game than last night.
- 41:09Speaker 2: How about that? When a division matchup, we're kicking off
- 41:11Speaker 2: Thursday night football. It's Thursday.
- 41:14Speaker 3: We didn't kick off Thursday because, well, two reasons. Number one,
- 41:17Speaker 3: this is in Australia. Two, the NFL will play on
- 41:19Speaker 3: Wednesdays moving forward.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Watch them.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Both teams here tonight, 49ers and Rams, dealing with massive
- 41:26Speaker 3: offseason shifts. Both teams really good last year. The Rams
- 41:29Speaker 3: made the biggest splash of the year. They trade for,
- 41:32Speaker 3: you've got Miles Garrett, and now they bring back Aaron Donald,
- 41:36Speaker 3: who will not be in the mix this evening. But
- 41:39Speaker 3: everyone is expecting the most terrifying defensive front, and I
- 41:42Speaker 3: don't blame them if you're a quarterback and you think that. Melbourne, Australia,
- 41:48Speaker 3: the sleep specialist, as we mentioned earlier, They're split on this.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Sean McVay jetted the Rams in just 24 hours before kickoff.
- 41:58Speaker 3: And you have the 49ers who have been there for
- 42:00Speaker 3: 10 days. San Francisco, they're managing the workloads of several players.
- 42:03Speaker 3: They get hurt a lot over the years. And you've
- 42:08Speaker 3: got Kittle and Nick Bosa also managing their workloads here.
- 42:14Speaker 3: And we'll see if they have some receivers step up
- 42:18Speaker 3: around Brock Purdy. Cowboys and Giants, Sunday night football. Dallas
- 42:23Speaker 3: enters this 2026 season trying to fix this inept defense.
- 42:29Speaker 3: And Chad, you have them, we have them going to
- 42:32Speaker 3: the playoffs and how far in the playoffs?
- 42:35Speaker 2: The Cowboys. For Dallas? Yeah, you have the predictions we
- 42:39Speaker 2: did last week. Did I? Yes. Yeah, we have them
- 42:42Speaker 2: winning the division.
- 42:43Speaker 4: I'm going to need to see those predictions to know
- 42:45Speaker 4: how far I have them going. I don't remember putting
- 42:47Speaker 4: them in there, but sure, yeah, they're going to. I
- 42:49Speaker 4: have them winning the division.
- 42:50Speaker 2: You're right.
- 42:51Speaker 4: I don't have them going far in the playoffs. But, yes,
- 42:53Speaker 4: I do have the Cowboys winning that division. I also
- 42:56Speaker 4: have Dak Prescott on my fantasy team within our show's
- 43:00Speaker 4: fantasy league. So I'm very interested in that game.
- 43:03Speaker 3: They surrendered 60 touchdowns in 2025, Dallas' defense. And despite that, Prescott,
- 43:10Speaker 3: he was steady. He was steady on the road last year.
- 43:13Speaker 3: They averaged 25 points per game.
- 43:15Speaker 2: And then, of course, you.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Have issues and they end up not going to the postseason.
- 43:19Speaker 3: They're trying to flip that. And the Giants, you're predicting
- 43:22Speaker 3: them to go be the worst of first team in
- 43:25Speaker 3: the NFL. Harbaugh makes his debut as the head coach.
- 43:28Speaker 3: And you have plenty of playmakers, including one running.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Back, Chad, that you drafted in the Fantasy League. That
- 43:39Speaker 2: is correct.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Broncos, Chiefs, both teams... Big moves. For Denver, it was
- 43:47Speaker 3: the passing attack. Jalen Waddell is there now. One of
- 43:50Speaker 3: the fastest in the league. He gives Bo Nix another
- 43:53Speaker 3: impact playmaker opposite Cortland Sutton because JT's a Denver Broncos fan.
- 43:57Speaker 3: He knows this. Sutton was a one-man show a year ago.
- 44:00Speaker 3: And they still made it to the AFC Championship game.
- 44:04Speaker 3: And now Sutton doesn't have to be the guy who
- 44:07Speaker 3: outcatches the rest of the team. The second leading receiver
- 44:11Speaker 3: on the team, Chad, had 40 fewer catches than than
- 44:15Speaker 3: Cortland Sutton did a year ago. He led the team
- 44:17Speaker 3: in touchdowns and yards and catches. And in Kansas City,
- 44:20Speaker 3: they failed to make the playoffs. And that's the first
- 44:23Speaker 3: time they've done that since 2014. They've severely underperformed in
- 44:28Speaker 3: the backfield. So they signed Kenneth Walker III. And he's
- 44:31Speaker 3: your Super Bowl MVP from.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Back in February.
- 44:34Speaker 3: So I think they're going to be really good in
- 44:36Speaker 3: the backfield with him. And the question would be, is
- 44:39Speaker 3: Mahomes back to his normal self after the injury? And
- 44:43Speaker 3: where's Kelsey in the mix from this? They still have
- 44:48Speaker 3: playmakers out of the backfield and speed on the outside,
- 44:51Speaker 3: but not the household names of receiver, just the current
- 44:56Speaker 3: go-to quarterback in Patrick Mahomes.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Hutton, let me jump in here because I will say
- 45:00Speaker 4: right now that JT's favorite sport and state personality has
- 45:05Speaker 4: to be Ariel Epstein because Ariel has the Broncos winning
- 45:10Speaker 4: the Super Bowl in her predictions. Broncos over Seahawks was
- 45:15Speaker 4: her pick. So JT, I know now, loves Ariel even
- 45:18Speaker 4: more after hearing that prediction from her.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Their defense is elite, though. I would say that she's probably,
- 45:25Speaker 2: I mean, you've got Clay and then you've got Ariel, right?
- 45:28Speaker 3: Probably the smartest person in the group.
- 45:32Speaker 4: You got the guy who could bio Charlize up here.
- 45:35Speaker 4: And then you've got the woman who picks the Broncos
- 45:37Speaker 4: to win the Super Bowl right here. I agree with
- 45:41Speaker 4: that hierarchy. It's a great pecking order we have here
- 45:43Speaker 4: at Sporting Stage.
- 45:44Speaker 3: You know the one bad thing about the Broncos, though,
- 45:46Speaker 3: is I feel like they're always– it's that one person
- 45:49Speaker 3: gets hurt, right?
- 45:50Speaker 2: I mean, it's a wide receiver. It's just somebody week
- 45:54Speaker 2: 13 just happens to go, oh, no. And they kind
- 45:57Speaker 2: of sort of kind of piecemeal it together, but then
- 45:59Speaker 2: it's bad news.
- 46:00Speaker 3: Well, you know, and Sean Payton's always had that little
- 46:03Speaker 3: X factor– The running back that's also an extension of
- 46:08Speaker 3: the run game through the passing attack, right? He had
- 46:10Speaker 3: that New Orleans. He's got to find that dude for Denver.
- 46:13Speaker 3: If he does, I think that's the X factor. And,
- 46:16Speaker 3: I mean, look, they were.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Going to the Super Bowl last year. Had Bo Nix
- 46:19Speaker 2: not got hurt. Right? You agree with that. But to
- 46:23Speaker 2: your point, he got hurt. Yeah, there's always the injury.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Last time, by the way, just Kansas City, if they
- 46:29Speaker 3: hit on Walker and running back, the last time they
- 46:32Speaker 3: had a legit performance... over the course of a season
- 46:35Speaker 3: in running back, was 2017. Add that to Mahomes, and
- 46:40Speaker 3: that's how you'll turn out a playoff-worthy performance. Packers and
- 46:45Speaker 3: Vikings this week. A lot of divisional matchups across the schedule.
- 46:50Speaker 3: You've got Minnesota with a massive shift with Kyler Murray
- 46:54Speaker 3: now in a one-year deal, a proven year. Moving on
- 46:57Speaker 3: from J.J. McCarthy, he's taken over as the week one starter, and...
- 47:03Speaker 3: They're betting on him like they bet on Sam Darnold.
- 47:06Speaker 3: The Packers have injury concerns up front on the offensive
- 47:09Speaker 3: line and some key areas throughout their team. And the
- 47:15Speaker 3: question is, do the Vikings have enough? Is Kyler Murray
- 47:18Speaker 3: the difference from what they lacked with J.J. McCarthy paired
- 47:23Speaker 3: with O'Connell to get a big win here and a
- 47:28Speaker 3: home game to open the season against a very good
- 47:33Speaker 3: Green Bay Packers team and a head coach that has
- 47:36Speaker 3: been winning more than he's losing, despite not being a
- 47:40Speaker 3: household name in the floor. That's a team I can't
- 47:42Speaker 3: figure out at all, the Vikings. To me, biggest mystery
- 47:44Speaker 3: in the NFL. I could see them making a deep
- 47:47Speaker 3: playoff run. I could see them going 6-11. I just
- 47:51Speaker 3: cannot figure out what they're going to be with Kyler Murray.
- 47:54Speaker 3: This is a good start to figuring out what those
- 47:56Speaker 3: Vikings are going to be this season. And we're going
- 47:59Speaker 3: to find out quickly about Justin Jefferson. If he's back
- 48:02Speaker 3: to being the top dog like he should be last
- 48:04Speaker 3: year but wasn't. And the Packers are replacing their defensive
- 48:07Speaker 3: coordinator as well. Bills and Texans is a great game.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Great matchup that's underrated here. It's a marquee coaching storyline.
- 48:15Speaker 3: You've got Joe Brady making his head coaching debut. And
- 48:19Speaker 3: you still have a solid coach in Houston. Chad, that's
- 48:25Speaker 3: D'Amico Ryans.
- 48:27Speaker 2: That is.
- 48:28Speaker 3: the defensive coordinator with a elite defense for the Texans.
- 48:34Speaker 3: And it's all about offense in Buffalo. Their defense is
- 48:36Speaker 3: not going to be very good this year. So what happens?
- 48:40Speaker 3: It's a one and a half point spread. And Houston's
- 48:42Speaker 3: never been to the AFC championship game.
- 48:44Speaker 4: I have the Bills winning the Super Bowl this year
- 48:47Speaker 4: over the Rams. I'm not going to duck any of
- 48:49Speaker 4: the heat about being Clay Travis's boy because Clay happened
- 48:52Speaker 4: to pick the same exact thing. and we both have
- 48:54Speaker 4: Josh Allen as MVP, but he picked Bills over Rams also.
- 48:59Speaker 4: Bills need their one-and-a-half-point favorite in this game at Hard
- 49:03Speaker 4: Rock Beth. This is a big one to go on
- 49:05Speaker 4: the road and prove that this is a contending team
- 49:09Speaker 4: this year with the Buffalo Bills. That window, Hutton, we
- 49:12Speaker 4: always talk about with the Bills, feels like we're on
- 49:16Speaker 4: the outer edge of it right?
- 49:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 49:18Speaker 4: As opposed to the middle of it right now. The
- 49:21Speaker 4: time is now for this Buffalo team. Philadelphia, no A.J.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Brown. They're bringing back several key contributors, though, and then
- 49:30Speaker 2: who is back for the commanders? Jake Daniels.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Entered year three as one of the electric dual threats,
- 49:36Speaker 3: but of course, injury riddled and not the same guy
- 49:39Speaker 3: last year and you have secondary pressure. Dan Quinn's defense
- 49:44Speaker 3: is going to bring the heat off the edge. Philadelphia's
- 49:47Speaker 3: at home, but many have the commanders bouncing back.
- 49:50Speaker 2: I'm not one of them.
- 49:51Speaker 3: We'll see pretty early on about this because I think
- 49:55Speaker 3: both coaches, they need to win and win soon. Washington's
- 49:58Speaker 3: known for changing coaches, and Philadelphia's been talking about it
- 50:02Speaker 3: for the last couple of seasons, at least a season
- 50:06Speaker 3: and a half. They win enough, but it's Philly. And
- 50:10Speaker 3: it's a huge divisional matchup there. Ravens and Colts. You've
- 50:13Speaker 3: got Jesse Minter making his debut. And Daniel Jones is
- 50:17Speaker 3: back for Indianapolis. Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry returns. Derrick Henry,
- 50:25Speaker 3: with one touchdown, will be third all-time for running backs
- 50:29Speaker 3: with touchdown runs in this game, if he can get it.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Crazy.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Anytime touchdown score, Derrick freaking Henry in this game.
- 50:37Speaker 2: How about that? I love it. Buccaneers and Bengals. Jad,
- 50:43Speaker 2: is this Joey B's year? It's my pick to win
- 50:46Speaker 2: the division. I do remember that one.
- 50:47Speaker 4: I couldn't remember the Cowboys pick, but I picked the
- 50:50Speaker 4: Bengals to win the AFC North this year, so he
- 50:53Speaker 4: needs to bounce back and be healthy.
- 50:54Speaker 3: First time in 12 years that Mike Evans won't be
- 50:57Speaker 3: in a Tampa Bay uniform. Burroughs fully healthy. They do
- 51:02Speaker 3: not have Hendrickson anymore. Can they get a pass for us?
- 51:05Speaker 3: They blacked out.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Saints and Lions.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Detroit goes into my list of the Super Bowl victors.
- 51:12Speaker 3: I've got them winning over Buffalo because they have the
- 51:15Speaker 3: fourth-place schedule, the last-place schedule. After finishing last in their division,
- 51:19Speaker 3: despite every team having a winning record a year ago,
- 51:22Speaker 3: the Saints didn't really upgrade their defense, and can they
- 51:26Speaker 3: get enough from a second-year quarterback and a team that
- 51:30Speaker 3: really doesn't have much outside of Chris Alave? Biggest storyline
- 51:35Speaker 3: in football, well, at least on Sunday Night Football, Aaron
- 51:40Speaker 3: Rodgers is back, and he actually played the preseason. Falcons
- 51:43Speaker 3: are visiting, and Tua Tagovailoa is going to be the starter.
- 51:49Speaker 3: It was a disaster in Pittsburgh back in December.
- 51:52Speaker 2: T.J.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Watt got all over the quarterback, and we'll see if
- 51:58Speaker 3: Tua is able to withstand that defensive front.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Jets and Titans. Chad, we hit on this.
- 52:04Speaker 3: It's a must win for the Tennessee Titans. The Jets
- 52:07Speaker 3: are coming in looking like this is one of their games.
- 52:09Speaker 3: The Titans are favored in two games right now, period,
- 52:12Speaker 3: across their schedule.
- 52:14Speaker 2: This is one of them. Go ahead. Here's a thought.
- 52:18Speaker 4: You know, the Jets also appear to be, it's way
- 52:21Speaker 4: more important for the Titans.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 52:23Speaker 4: This game is it for the Titans. I don't think
- 52:24Speaker 4: the Jets care at all. But if the Jets are tanking, okay,
- 52:28Speaker 4: let's say for Arch Manning.
- 52:29Speaker 2: All right. After this year. And they traded a lot
- 52:33Speaker 2: of players away. You're right. Here's my thought.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Arch's granddad once pulled a coup for Eli to not
- 52:43Speaker 4: go to the Chargers.
- 52:45Speaker 5: Right.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Okay. He helped orchestrate that. Yeah.
- 52:49Speaker 4: Would Arch's camp have a problem with the New York
- 52:51Speaker 4: Jets if they held the number one pick in a
- 52:54Speaker 4: year that he was going to get drafted? Number one overall.
- 52:57Speaker 4: Would they try to orchestrate something for him not to.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Go to that organization? Let me put it this way.
- 53:01Speaker 3: Just a thought to put in the back of your head, Hutton.
- 53:04Speaker 3: If they did that after Dion didn't do it for
- 53:08Speaker 3: Shador in Cleveland, that's a bad look.
- 53:12Speaker 2: I mean, I think everybody thought it was a bad
- 53:14Speaker 2: look then. Arch in New York would be great. That
- 53:16Speaker 2: would be a great storyline. I think it worked out.
- 53:18Speaker 4: You know, the Chargers worked out with them and Phillip
- 53:20Speaker 4: Rivers definitely worked out for Eli with the Giants.
- 53:23Speaker 2: But at the time, I mean, they took a lot
- 53:25Speaker 2: of heat.
- 53:26Speaker 3: It was something about the Spanos family that Archie hates
- 53:29Speaker 3: or doesn't, you know, just outlaw forever.
- 53:32Speaker 4: Anyway, we got plenty of time to talk about that.
- 53:34Speaker 4: Let's get back to week one. But that's just something
- 53:36Speaker 4: to put in the back of your mind for if
- 53:37Speaker 4: the Jets draft number one overall.
- 53:39Speaker 3: You've got Cardinals and Chargers. The rookie debuts, the second-year
- 53:44Speaker 3: players and young players on offense. uh, for, uh, Jeremiah Love,
- 53:50Speaker 3: Marvin Harrison Jr. Maybe we see Carson Beck at some point.
- 53:53Speaker 3: And then the Chargers defense, they're relying heavily on the
- 53:56Speaker 3: back end. So does the rookie make a splash or
- 54:00Speaker 3: is this like an Ashton Jenty type year where it's just,
- 54:03Speaker 3: you know, all talk and no, no production, uh, from
- 54:07Speaker 3: the jump. Browns and Jaguars, Jacksonville, if they want to
- 54:11Speaker 3: win the division, they want to get back to where
- 54:13Speaker 3: they were last year, which was a 13 or 14
- 54:14Speaker 3: win team. Uh, Go beat Deshaun Watson. I took the
- 54:18Speaker 3: under on his passing yards, like 170 yards. I took
- 54:21Speaker 3: the under in this game for him. I think that's
- 54:24Speaker 3: a smart bet.
- 54:25Speaker 4: I think any under with Deshaun Watson, I'm not going
- 54:28Speaker 4: to argue with you on it. You can tell me
- 54:29Speaker 4: under on passing touchdowns, passing yards, anything. If you said
- 54:33Speaker 4: you're betting that with hard rock bet, I'm not going
- 54:35Speaker 4: to fight.
- 54:35Speaker 2: You on it. Yes, take the under. Bears at Carolina.
- 54:40Speaker 3: I have the Bears missing the playoffs because they were
- 54:43Speaker 3: so great in turnover margin a year ago. They had
- 54:50Speaker 3: a massive, that was like 33-11 in.
- 54:55Speaker 2: Overall takeaways, giveaways. That's hard to do.
- 54:58Speaker 3: At some point, you have a ball batted in the
- 54:59Speaker 3: air by a defensive lineman, and it goes into the
- 55:01Speaker 3: hands of a linebacker. I mean, they got away with
- 55:03Speaker 3: a lot, and they won tight games based on those turnovers.
- 55:07Speaker 3: Their defense was elite at getting the ball back for
- 55:09Speaker 3: an offense that didn't score enough in certain moments to
- 55:12Speaker 3: actually get the credit for that they end up receiving.
- 55:15Speaker 3: It was their defense that got the takeaways. I just
- 55:18Speaker 3: think it kind of falls back to the average here.
- 55:21Speaker 3: And because of that, I don't think they win enough games.
- 55:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm with you. I can see this being a
- 55:27Speaker 2: fallback also.
- 55:28Speaker 3: And do we see Bryce Young continue to ascend? If
- 55:32Speaker 3: we do, then guess what we're going to hear about
- 55:34Speaker 3: Cam Ward, Chad?
- 55:35Speaker 4: One of your players to prove it this year also
- 55:38Speaker 4: was Bryce Young. When you had those lists of put
- 55:40Speaker 4: up or shut up time for players, Bryce Young definitely
- 55:42Speaker 4: one of them. Yeah.
- 55:44Speaker 3: I would pick Kyler Murray to do that more than
- 55:48Speaker 3: I pick Bryce Young to do that. Chad, that is
- 55:52Speaker 3: one big thing on every NFL game. Will we see
- 55:56Speaker 3: baseball expand anytime soon? I want to ask two questions.
- 56:00Speaker 3: Number one, of the cities that they're looking at, there
- 56:03Speaker 3: are a couple of obvious ones. And I'm not sure
- 56:05Speaker 3: why some of the obvious ones aren't really putting their
- 56:08Speaker 3: all in on trying to get this done. Number two,
- 56:11Speaker 3: why does baseball want to expand right now? Yeah, we
- 56:15Speaker 3: will get to that. I'm actually seeing Coach Derek Dooley
- 56:18Speaker 3: in the room with us right now. So if he's ready,
- 56:21Speaker 3: since he did such a fantastic job creating the new
- 56:24Speaker 3: open for the show that we heard earlier, if he's
- 56:27Speaker 3: ready to go, we're going to go to him next
- 56:29Speaker 3: because we've got to get to the bottom of the
- 56:31Speaker 3: Big Ten, showing more transparency with their review process.
- 56:35Speaker 4: Clock issues. Coach does a thing or two about that.
- 56:38Speaker 4: We'll talk SEC. We'll talk Lane Kiffin and LSU versus
- 56:42Speaker 4: the SEC with a lawyer-turned-football coach.
- 56:46Speaker 2: We got all that coming back up. Derek Dooley, he's
- 56:49Speaker 2: up next here on Sports State in Hutton-Withrow.
