- 0:00Speaker 1: Here we are, last break of the day and time
- 0:03Speaker 1: for some closing remarks from the wonderful, the one and only,
- 0:07Speaker 1: our fearless leader, Steve Harvey. What you got, Steve? You know,
- 0:13Speaker 1: I was just thinking about encouragement and the things that
- 0:20Speaker 1: have happened in my life to greatly encourage me. And
- 0:25Speaker 1: kind of, like I said, this morning, you know, I
- 0:27Speaker 1: kind of woke up this morning. I just wasn't myself
- 0:30Speaker 1: this morning. I wasn't my usual and I found myself thinking,
- 0:35Speaker 1: you know, some thoughts that I shouldn't have allowed to
- 0:38Speaker 1: get into my head. But I quickly reversed that. And
- 0:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something that I do because I
- 0:46Speaker 1: was taught a long time ago that your feelings are
- 0:51Speaker 1: a barometer of your thoughts. Your feelings are a barometer
- 0:56Speaker 1: of your thoughts. And what that simply means is what's
- 0:59Speaker 1: your feeling is actually like just a thermometer of what
- 1:04Speaker 1: you've been thinking over the past twenty thirty minutes. If
- 1:09Speaker 1: you think, if you catch yourself feeling out of sorts
- 1:13Speaker 1: or getting to a little funk, or feeling a little depressed,
- 1:17Speaker 1: all you have to do is trace back what you've
- 1:19Speaker 1: been thinking for the past fifteen to thirty minutes, because
- 1:24Speaker 1: all your feelings are are simply a barometer, or however
- 1:30Speaker 1: you want to look at it. You might want to
- 1:31Speaker 1: say a thermometer, so you can say it tells the
- 1:34Speaker 1: temperature of what you've been thinking. And so I had
- 1:38Speaker 1: to go back and do that, and I realized the
- 1:42Speaker 1: reason I kind of woke up on the wrong side
- 1:44Speaker 1: of the bed was because I was laying at thinking
- 1:48Speaker 1: some negative thoughts. I was thinking about all the stuff
- 1:51Speaker 1: I had to do, all the stuff I needed to accomplish,
- 1:56Speaker 1: and then I was realizing that there was no way
- 2:00Speaker 1: I was gonna get it all done today, no matter
- 2:02Speaker 1: how hard I try. And as I was sitting there
- 2:07Speaker 1: man beating myself up for knowing all that I had
- 2:10Speaker 1: to do and knowing I didn't have enough time in
- 2:12Speaker 1: the day to get it done, I started feeling sort
- 2:16Speaker 1: of out of sorts and like, man, this is I
- 2:18Speaker 1: want this to move blah blah blah blah blah. Well,
- 2:20Speaker 1: I had to catch myself because I had to be
- 2:23Speaker 1: reminded of the Lord's prayer, the line that says, give
- 2:26Speaker 1: us this day our daily bread, which God has mentally
- 2:31Speaker 1: equipped us to handle. Today. God didn't set our brain
- 2:35Speaker 1: up to handle tomorrow, to worry about it anyway. You
- 2:39Speaker 1: can think about it and aspire about it and dream
- 2:41Speaker 1: about it, but you're surely not to worry about it
- 2:45Speaker 1: because there's nothing you can do about it. But I
- 2:47Speaker 1: was sitting there about worrying about today and all I
- 2:50Speaker 1: had to do, and how I was gonna fit it anyday,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and knowing I couldn't, and how I was gonna affect
- 2:54Speaker 1: my tomorrow. Bad mistake, Steve Harvey, and you know better.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And so I'm trying to help you all understand that
- 3:01Speaker 1: when you get into that funk like that, no better,
- 3:04Speaker 1: Like I had to know better. God has equipped us
- 3:06Speaker 1: to handle today. Give us this day our daily bread.
- 3:10Speaker 1: He don't want you tripping on what that already happened
- 3:12Speaker 1: in the past. You can't go back, you don't get
- 3:14Speaker 1: do overs, And ain't no need to worry about the
- 3:16Speaker 1: future because you have no control over it. So I
- 3:20Speaker 1: had to get focused, and I had to think about, Wow,
- 3:24Speaker 1: all I need is today. I need enough to make
- 3:30Speaker 1: it today. And so as I was sitting there shaving,
- 3:34Speaker 1: I was sitting be thinking, I said, Wow, I'm up.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I have a measure of help. I'm shaving. I'm actually okay,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm order some room service. I'm okay. I get to
- 3:46Speaker 1: go to work today. That's a blessing, not I gotta
- 3:49Speaker 1: go to work. I get to go to work today,
- 3:53Speaker 1: because that's a blessing. It's a blessing to have that opportunity.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It's people looking for a job today wishing it would
- 4:00Speaker 1: work anywhere, and I just need to get a check
- 4:02Speaker 1: coming in here. I actually get to go to work,
- 4:05Speaker 1: to a job I enjoy. Steve Harvey, are you kidding me?
- 4:11Speaker 1: You got the nerve to wake up on the wrong
- 4:14Speaker 1: side of the bed because you was worrying about what
- 4:17Speaker 1: you might not accomplish. Have you taken a moment, sir,
- 4:22Speaker 1: to just realize what you have? That my children are healthy,
- 4:28Speaker 1: that they all still with me, That I got loving family.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Oh they had a dysfunctional moments. Oh you can believe that.
- 4:39Speaker 1: By at the end of the day. I bet they
- 4:41Speaker 1: love each other. Hey man, you have options. Hey man.
- 4:49Speaker 1: You're able to walk, to see, to talk, to think,
- 4:53Speaker 1: to rhyme, to reason. It's just so many little things.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'm looking out the window right now and I'm realizing
- 5:02Speaker 1: the sun is up and I'm free while I can
- 5:05Speaker 1: go out there and enjoy it. Man, get out of here.
- 5:09Speaker 1: You don't have the right, sir, to wake up on
- 5:12Speaker 1: the wrong side of the bed when the joy and
- 5:16Speaker 1: the gratitude ought to be that you woke up on
- 5:19Speaker 1: the bed. How about that? Cause don't you remember Steve
- 5:22Speaker 1: Harvey when you didn't have no bed partner? Now you're
- 5:25Speaker 1: worried about getting up on the wrong side, How about
- 5:28Speaker 1: them three years when you ain't had no bed? What
- 5:31Speaker 1: about that? Are you kidding me? Man? So you gonna
- 5:35Speaker 1: lay up here stuck on stupid because you're on the
- 5:37Speaker 1: wrong side of the bed. You frustrated you ain't got
- 5:40Speaker 1: enough time in the day. But did you ever really
- 5:42Speaker 1: think about why you don't have enough time in the
- 5:44Speaker 1: day because you got stuff to do. You know why
- 5:46Speaker 1: you got stuff to do because God created you to
- 5:49Speaker 1: be busy. You know why he created you to be
- 5:51Speaker 1: busy so you can have the life you ask for.
- 5:54Speaker 1: You can't complain about what's all on your plate when
