- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Cleaning Business Live podcast.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: I am Jamie Rumco with Above All Cleaning Services, located in Northern California.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Uh, we are here with Shannon, the actual host of the podcast.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: And we are continuing our March to a Million.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: This is our third episode of what we are doing.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: We're in the thick of it, you guys.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: There is a lot that's going on, as you guys can see in the background.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: I've rearranged some things and I didn't get a chance to finish because it's been a really intense week.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: I was telling Miss Jamie that I had to address some situations out in the field, which I wasn't anticipating doing, but we won't go into all of the detail about that.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: For those of you who don't know, I'm getting ready to launch in another market, and that market is 90 minutes away from me each direction.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: So um I've operated in other areas before with small micro teams, but this is going to be an actual, I don't want to say a retail location, but eventually I would like to buy a building and maybe have the corporate office run out of that operation.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: But we're we're still in the beginning phases.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: We're working on the website and we're working on building out a lot of things, which we will discuss in the next episode of March to a million.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: But the um the Gilbert and um the Facebook page is up.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: If you guys want to follow along, it's I can leave that link here.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: And um what is it?
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: What is it first?
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's called pre um, it's called Gilbert Tidy Clean.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: So each city will have a tidy clean name to it.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: So it'll we're gonna do Gilbert first, and then we're gonna expand into other moves.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: So if I hypothetically opened up in Chandler, which is right next door to Gilbert, it would be Chandler Tidy Clean.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: If I went to Glen Hill, it or where you know Scottsdale Tidy Clean.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: So um that's been pretty exciting, and there's a lot of prep, more prep than I've ever done before.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Like when I had Castle Keeper Cleaning, I was just like, I have an idea.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna start a cleaning company and I'm gonna hit the ground running, right?
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Well, no, this is a lot more structured, I think, because you're going in with your eyes wide open, and uh not only that, that's this is really actually like a remote.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: This is a remote business model that you're starting here.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's gonna be a full-fledged W-2 model, is what we're aiming for.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: And if you guys don't remember, it's been like eight or nine years since I've had official W-2.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: So there's a learning curve of catching back up.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: I actually am scheduled to do a one-day seminar down in the Phoenix area to kind of re-familiarize because I don't want to get in trouble by not doing all of the things, right?
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Because it's been for I've only operated with 1099s the last eight, eight years, nine years.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: So um switching back into gear, figuring out what the lit the labor laws are, how much PTO I'm required to do.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Um there's I'm sure different hiring practices that are now um coming into fruition where they're different from before.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Uh, because the market, the cleaning industry has really changed and it keeps flipping in a 180 and it does another 180, and then it does another 180.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, and I know I've mentioned this and I sound like I'm on my soapbox, but Grant Cardone, even Alex, um, I'm I'm sure I'm butching her's name.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Alex, if you're listening to this, God listening to our podcast, but I horizamy, is that how you say your last name?
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: He was talking about how you need to have a cleaner, and everybody's getting into the cleaning industry.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: I saw a small little micro like cleaning business owner.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: She went to some sort of one-on-one or group coaching, and even he is getting in on it.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: So everybody's getting in on the cleaning industry.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: The industry is changing and expanding so much.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: It's really important this time around because we have all the information to put that structure in place.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Yes, Jamie and I have talked about structure over and over again, but this is like a refresher course, a refresher crass course for Shannon.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Right, and that's what this podcast is about.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Um, you're building in public.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Um, I you guys know I have been.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: I we we just did the episode uh uh The Messy Middle.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Um normally we would start off because we this was geared more towards um those that are just starting out uh and we wanted to get you guys going, you know, at least thinking that you could get up to a hundred thousand, and that's not so much the case anymore.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Um we are now seeing that uh you know the it's more like a million uh at two two to three million dollars.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Two to three is pretty normal, pretty normal in our industry, you guys.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: We're like that million dollar marker was it way back in the day.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Um but this is our our first goal, and and I like that you're being so um vulnerable right now with this.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, this is really um it's like you know, we do have a lot of people that listen to the Cleaning Business Live podcast, and that takes a lot of vulnerability to say, hey, you guys, guess what?
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Welcome back, Shannon.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: All that coaching and everything, and you know, it's like I I know how you must be feeling right now.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Um but just know I think that you should know that you also have a great, you gotta know that you have a great support team.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, so many women are supporting you.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Like I it's that that's whenever I get so nervous, it's like I know that I have my people to bring me back down to reality that you know what you got this and you can do this.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: But um, I know I know what it takes to be vulnerable like that and saying, Hey, I I love the the the podcast name, building in public, love it.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: So I I wanted to be transparent.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: So for anyone else who is starting and considering on stepping into the clean industry, I will keep the northern Arizona market as a 1099 business model, but all of the expanding markets where I have forecasted for 2027 and 2028 will be down in the southern.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Um if you think about it, if you're in Arizona, now is your time to take action.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: I everybody is leaving, and this has nothing to do with Jamie, but California has gone through a lot of structural changes in the last couple years.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: It's wild.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Every time she tells me that she's required to do another thing, I'm like, why?
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: It's crazy expensive, but we do have an influx of people moving here, and when I did the research on the market, it just seems like it's the right time.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: I yeah, yeah, we've done a lot of talking about this.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: I've known for a long time.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: She's been keeping forward.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: And I'm so glad that you're finally able to say something.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: So this that it just like you said, it makes sense.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: And what's great is that you will uh know and understand both models of W-2s, and what you did before, it's just you haven't you you're just refreshing yourself, and um, so that makes it even better for your coaching program, honestly.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, because you are very well versed and going to be like we still even whenever we get up to here, there's never no end to learning.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: Like, look, you're just talking about how you're going to um brush up on some of the laws, which it are uh the small business association is a great place, and everybody in America, your county should have one or one next to you somewhere, the SBA.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Um look that up, make sure that you brush up with them because there are federal um reserves for small business owners for people like us, and they were dying to help you.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: They're dying to help you, right?
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: So definitely take advantage of some of the small business administration resources.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: And you can even if you go to their website, you can sign up.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: It's all electronic now, finally.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Uh COVID, it took COVID for them to catch up to everything.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: But I'm actually going down in person.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: I have a schedule with a couple of other people that I'm gonna meet down there who are other cleaning business owners, and I'm hoping that we can get some lunch down there while I'm there.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm really excited and I'm a little nervous because I haven't I haven't touched base with this.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: And I have a general basic knowledge because I've done it for such a long time, but I want to make sure that I'm up to par with what my legal responsibilities are when it comes to W-2s.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, and that should be that goes for everybody.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: We all have to do our due diligence.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: You cannot sit there and be like, oh, I didn't know.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: You cannot play the stupid card.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Um, no, not when it comes to that stuff.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: They don't they don't care, they don't um yeah, uh, so always do your due diligence and look into your state's down to into your county.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: Uh here it goes by state and then by county, by town, like there's different rules for the state, and then there's more rules for the county, and then even in the town that you can be in.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: So make sure that you're you're you're you guys are brushing up on all of that.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: And Jamie, tell us how how is life being in the office 100% of the time.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you what, uh, you guys, I this office has been a game changer for me.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Um, I get up every day so excited to come here to come to work.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Um uh I'm in a totally different era than I was uh whenever I was a cleaner.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: Um I was building, building, building, and and getting the learning how to hire, learning payroll, learning um work comp.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's never fun.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Learning um a lot of learning.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Um, but whenever I got this office, first of all, I didn't know that I could if I could afford it or not.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: You know, um, I really knew that I wanted one because I ran out of storage for years.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: And um, I just one, you know, if you've envision it, it comes.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: My next goal is to actually buy uh an actual office space.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Um, but that's to be continued once I do all the implementation that I've been doing lately.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: But here every day, um learning how to getting a lot better at hiring and firing, and um, you know, the making this place so neat or you know, above all cleaning, like my branding is all over here.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Uh it's perfect.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Uh I love it right now.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: So uh I am completely 100% out of the field.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Like we I am no longer in the field, absolutely at all.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: For those of you who are watch, not watching, I'm clapping in celebration.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Um, and uh Erica did uh, which is she's um not only my bookkeeper, but she's also uh my map coach.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: Um, so she does a lot.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: And you signed up for the year program with her, didn't you?
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, I don't know how long.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: There's really no, it's like really no into it because it's like, wait a minute, I thought I'm like, how can I afford this?
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Well, and right now I'm in two different coaching programs, and I'm like, you know, well over two, three almost$2,500 a month and just coaching and just implementing it, and then the office fee and and all the things that come with being a business owner that I want to get where I want to get faster, and I want to be a hundred light years ahead of anybody that's local, no offense, because I know some of you do listen, but I want to be a thousand steps ahead and not get left behind in the dust.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: But all this implementation has been really beneficial for anybody.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: If you or what you can DIY until you're blue in the face, but it does take you ten times longer to DIY it versus if you pay a coach, and and coaching is always needed.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: Like eventually I see myself maybe getting a coach from someone else who's really known in the industry because I need to brush up on a couple of things, not because I want to take their secrets, but because I genuinely need the knowledge of, you know, this is the next phase of what I'm doing.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: Right, and there that that's the thing, it's not um taking people's secrets, it's just a it it's like that's what's working in their industry or uh in the cleaning industry.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: Um let's see how I can implement that into my business with above all cleaning services.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: You with uh Gilbert Tidy Clean right now, you know.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: Um there's not and and there's nothing wrong with outgrowing coaches.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: I've I remember it was just, you know, um I was so scared.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: I so scared whenever it's like I am going to the the next phase.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: It's not nothing.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: I I'm still very good friends with Shannon, um, with my other coach right now.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Um, but I do see uh, you know, once I stop, breathe, implement all this that I've learned, all this knowledge that I've learned, I definitely will be going on to the next uh there, you know, to the next coach.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: And um yeah.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: So life inside of the office is awesome.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: Um I love it.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: Love it too.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: Love it too.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, we're adjusting, we're focusing on just absolute structure and systems.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: I I can't, we're implementing.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, I you guys would like to see what I've been working on.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Can you see how thick these are?
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: We have above all cleaning academy.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: This is an employee handbook.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: I have incident reporting and response SOP.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: I also have implemented um a cleaning team career path.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Um which I love.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: I saw that the other day.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I took a picture and sent that over to Shannon because I was like, you know, um, instead of just hiring like their cleaning technician for the duration of them working here, no wonder why it feels like such a pass-through uh they have no goal, or what do I do next, or what's next for me here?
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Uh is there another step?
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Um, so we kind of built that out and and it could very well change and at be added on to the case.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: So has the transition gone the way you expected, or was it a little more challenging when you went from I remember the celebration of the t-shirts and and you know, then getting into the office and doing the thing, but has has it gone the way you expected, or was it a little bit like oh my gosh, I don't know what I'm gonna do with myself?
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, oh yeah, it's total uh there's probably been 20 times that I wanted to bash my phone and my iMac, my brand new beautiful iMac, onto the ground because and and then I really there's times whenever I second guess myself, like um almost to the point of panic attacks.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: Like, is this gonna am I gonna am I doing this right?
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Am I charging again?
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: This is where a good coach comes in where you they can help you walk you through those those like are you sure I'm okay?
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Are you sure I'm gonna be okay?
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: Uh moments.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: Um definitely so yeah, it feels like you're getting ahead, or is it con right now?
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: I you're just in major implementation mode, so I would imagine there is an end to all of this because at some point you're gonna catch up to all of the things you're implementing.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: And it'll be easy peasy.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: I'll see you out on the golf course, right?
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, it's already getting like that.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: It's you're always sitting there wondering in your head, okay, is am I making it?
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: This is where I made it, right?
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: But then there's another goal, right?
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: The marker moves all the time.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: It's it's the next goal, uh, and I we keep hitting it.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna tell you the best thing that we I the best gift any coach anybody has done for me was implementing that profit first.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: I'm seeing you guys, I'm seeing more money in my accounts than I have ever seen in my life with all these expenses.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: And I'm just gonna clean up of the books too.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: There wasn't, it wasn't an easy, there was a lot of like hand holding.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: And I I was like, you get to be the guinea pig before I there are.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: That's taboo.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: You can go and visit the location, it's like a whole hurdle mentally.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: But it's like that made no sense to me.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: That was the scary that was probably the scary because you know, you want to go into the local bank and say, hey, and everybody knows, hey, they remember you with the pink steering wheel, and and they would know me by pink steering wheel.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: You know, I I I get it, but I've outgrown that system.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: And uh not only that, it I uh there was just uh three buckets.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: There was my personal, oh four buckets, there was my personal account, there was my uh business for everything for the business, and then the payroll and then a savings, and it was easy to pull, and uh so if you have not listened to the profit first method, or how do you say his last name, Mike?
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Molowski, I think.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: I'm probably Malkovich, Malkovich Malkovich.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: Thank you with Profit First.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: I highly suggest stop what you're doing and definitely look into that and start implementing that into your business because I've never I'm reaching numbers that I've never seen before.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: That's this and yes, thank you.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what it is.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: That's so happy you have that right on hand.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: So yeah, um, that was probably the biggest gift that I got.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Uh and it uh it also uncovered some things.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Like um, it's like, well, what if I can't afford this?
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Well, then you need to go and fix it.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: There's something in your business that needs fixed, then.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: Um so um have I been able to stay in the office?
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: No, yes, I've absolutely been able to stay in the office.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: The only thing that I am doing now is I'm hiring and onboarding, learning to be a better leader for my company.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: I you know I think that's the hardest piece is being a leader.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: The HR piece and being a leader, knowing when to fire, knowing when to write up, knowing when to like this is okay.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: There's when you're dealing with other humans, there's so many different things that come into the equation of managing people.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: And I've never had experience with managing people, so I didn't know how to do a schedule, and I was just ho hodgepodging it, you know.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: Uh what does it say?
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: Uh I was flying the airplane while fixing it up in the sky.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: Um Um, but uh no, I do not work in the off or out in the field at all anymore.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: I do do walkthroughs.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: However, I have it set up so well to where they have to pass kind of like a screening before I'll even like consider doing a walkthrough.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: And in the beginning, I understand we take whatever we can.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: If they want us to walk up a six-foot ladder, you're doing it because you need the money and you need the job.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: Well, we have now gotten to the point of where I can actually pick and choose um who I want to take on as a client versus we need this client because we need the cash flow.
- 24:14unknown: Right.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: And I'll put my I'm putting my um employees in some sort of weird predicament.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: It's weird though.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: I you'd put yourself in any predicament, but whenever it comes to your employees, it's like, well, wait a minute.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: I would never put them in some of the situations that I've like, don't do this.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: And there's and that and there's a lot of scope creep in the cleaning industry.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: Um, and it's really because we all are people pleasers, so I can see how it wanted to do that.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: I was just talking to someone the other day about she whipped out a ladder and she wanted her her her ceiling fan.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: She called me over to the house.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: I was over on that side of town.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: I was like, sure, I'll pop by.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: And her ceiling fan, her ceilings are 35 feet, which is a tall angle.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: They're usually at an angle.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: The ceiling fan comes down about 10 feet, so that means 25 feet from the ground.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: And she's like, but you can reach it from the landing where the stairs are.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: I'm like, this is a whole like workman's comp if you know it's no one's gonna climb.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: She's like, Well, I have a ladder.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: I'm like, we don't use clients' ladders, it's not, it's just not a good business practice.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: So we we had to I had to show the cleaning tech how to manipulate the from the angle of the landing and then at the bottom to get all of it with the high with the extended.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: I see I know exactly what you're doing.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, climbing.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, you're kind of doing the thing, right?
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: And um, but she she was like, it's no big deal.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: And she whips out this ladder, it's wooden.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, how old?
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Oh, it was my grandpa's like, we don't we don't get on any of those things.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: I'm like in my younger days when I first started my business, I would have curled up there, no big just spot me on the bottom, no big deal.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: But yeah, it's it's just it's interesting what people will do and what they do.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Well they have the uh what's nice now, they have those extenders.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Oh I have a docker pole.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: Right, I have a T-O-T-A.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: Uh and um they have those sh what is it called?
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: Chanel uh they're curved now, which is nice.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: It makes it nice, and you can take it and bend it, and it'll grab it and pull it.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: So those are nice, and that's about the extent we do.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: We'll pull all the dust off, change it out, wipe the other one, and that's the wet wiping.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: That's about best as you're gonna get.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: It's not my team, but it's like it's out, it's just there can be other people that'll do that, but we're not, yeah.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: I'm it was impressive.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: There was this much dust on every single plate.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: I'm like, so when was last time?
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, I don't know.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: It's been a while.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: I'm like the holy case.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: I love that whenever it's like, yeah, because you're especially whenever the client's right there, and you're like you know, uh the the other day I it was uh I did a walkthrough on I since scene um um on she she wanted a a move out clean and um I don't know how she passed through our our thing, our forms that we I was just telling you about that uh before I'll do a walkthrough, but they were in Fortuna, sure thing.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: She made a post and said, uh I just think$2,150 is insane for uh a clean.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: She wanted it done the next day, if not by Saturday.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: It's always last week, those guys.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: Five bedroom, three bath.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: It's almost underbidden at that point.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, with inside uh fridge, inside oven.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: Well, whenever we were in the back bathroom, she goes, Oh, that's stained.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm looking at it, and I took my nail and went and she goes, Oh my gosh.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: How'd you do that?
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: I was like, I'm just thinking of myself, I'm like a professional.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Like, well, that's why like we're you who do you think you called?
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: And um, needless to say, I don't, I'm sure she found somebody, but they had to be because she's front in a rental, they have to have um here, you have they want it professionally cleaned.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: So you have to be licensed, bonded, work comp.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: You have to have all the stuff.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: Um and I'm sorry, but yeah, I seen it in two.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: I did not scroll and and get into it and look at all the comments.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: I'm sure.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: I'm sure there was some some comments, but I knew she didn't call me out by name.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: But I knew who she was talking about.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: It was like, because I it was directed to Five bedroom, three bath.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: It's next day.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: I want someone who can do it, and then you'll you'll have people who will genuinely say, Oh, I'll do it for 500 bucks.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh my god, it's gonna be like two cents a square foot.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be the hardest clean you ever did.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: And then they'll get in there and realize, oh well, I see why, dang.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: Well it's okay, it's okay.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: And I'm not saying they can't learn, it just takes it's there's more to it.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: And and there is, there's very well could be somebody that'll do it for 700.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: Uh it's just not my company.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: And um, good luck trying to find somebody that will do it within a day.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: The next day.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Like I'd had to move, bump a bunch of clients, and you know, so I'm still dealing with stuff like, you know, I don't know, the kind of the cattiness.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: The last minute fee is usually what dampers are like, well, I guess I don't need because it's$650.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: For us to do to stop what we're doing to accommodate an extra clean, I have to pull in people who are already busy, who already have plans.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: I have to put I have to offer a bigger percentage of the job.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: There's a lot the the six fifty that's six fifty plus the cleaning fee, plus any other add-ons they have, and that's just the and I I don't want to call it an inconvenience fee for them, but that's what it is for us.
- 30:48unknown: Right.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: That that uh that's exactly what it is.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: Um so I think that's awesome.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: So the transition you've that you've shown is really starting to build the business that you see, which is nice.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: It's this bigger thing, right?
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: It's and and then it'll it will tweak and evolve into you'll get to the next stage and it will be even a bigger thing.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: By then you'll have three locations or whatever it is that you decide to do.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, and then you also have the cleaning product, so there's that end of it as well.
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: So this is gonna be this is a the I can feel it gives me goosebumps every time we talk about it.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: This is gonna be a big cleaning empire in northern Arizona for sure.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I I I agree 100%.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: I there's a if you guys hear me, there's a confidence inside of me that is it's just because uh you just I think you get to the point where it's like I got this, I'm gonna get this.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: There is no other choice but to.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: There's no other plan B.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: This is I'm literally, this is all or nothing, and um I'm gonna make damn sure that it works if it's all or nothing.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: I I see you actually taking over or buying out your competitor.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh well, we'll see.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: We've been we'll be we've been uh in discussions about that.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: So um yeah.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: If you guys are listening, if anybody's listening, call me.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: You'll get the inside scoop there for sure.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: So that that's basically what's been going on with with the build.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: So um website is coming soon.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: We got the phone number, the Facebook page, the registration with the state.
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: Um, I actually got a couple of phone calls to just kind of feel out the market down there.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: Um, it is a different environment entirely with getting the right price point.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: Like up here, I can command it because we're smaller and I everyone knows my reputation.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: We're down there, I'm still kind of new, but there aren't there isn't a lot of competition in in the Phoenix area.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of small micros, but there's no one really big, which is interesting.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: That is interesting.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: Um, and and it's especially with your eyes wide open like that, to know, like you know what I'm saying?
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: Uh you you kind of know your your labor your labor rates and and your production rates and and so this is gonna be fun.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm definitely as soon as we're off of this, I'm gonna go over and follow.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: So please link that at the bottom of the the show about um Gilbert tidy clean.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: I I like how you're doing each page for uh each little area.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: And then I got some exciting things to say in the next one, but um, we're going to conclude um the messy middle, and um that's the conversation that we have today.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: I hope that you enjoyed it.
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: We um again are trying to be as transparent as we possibly can on what it's like while we're building, and um, because this is a different build for me, and this is the next level build for Jamie.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: So this will be fun and exciting on so many levels.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: Thanks so much for tuning in.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: And if you're watching, please like and subscribe.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: We really appreciate you.

- 34:34SPEAKER_00: Bye, you guys.
