- 0:28Let's get ready.
- 0:30Comfortable and get started Hello, healers.
- 0:35Welcome back to the podcast.
- 0:37I have a different type of podcast for you all today.
- 0:40And, that was a request from a patient.
- 0:42I mentioned before how I am three things that are beneficial to my patients.
- 0:47I am a conventionally.
- 0:49Train medical practitioner.
- 0:51I am also functionally trained medical practitioner, and I'm also a coach and most people would understand how those three things can affect people's life.
- 0:59And I'm going to spend a few.
- 1:01Minutes today talking about what a medical coach is and how I stumbled upon that and how I created.
- 1:08The term medical coach.
- 1:09I don't know if there's one out there, but I feel like I created it.
- 1:11So we're going to talk about it.
- 1:13How would this going to impact.
- 1:14The journey that you are on not only your health, but also your life.
- 1:19But before we get started, I want to tell you a quick little story.
- 1:22When I came to this country from Haiti.
- 1:24I was alone.
- 1:26Sad.
- 1:27The press.
- 1:28Anxious.
- 1:29Hopeless.
- 1:30I used to quiet all the time, because not only I came into a brand new country, I didn't speak a word of English.
- 1:39Uh, nobody understood me.
- 1:41And I had no friends.
- 1:43And I felt like everybody was passing me by in the hallway.
- 1:46Nobody wants to talk to me.
- 1:48I was not the cool kid in high school.
- 1:51And, this was some really dark times in my life where I literally wanted to go back.
- 1:56I wanted to go back home.
- 1:58Because to me, life in America was just boring and.
- 2:02I didn't understand how I can make this life better.
- 2:05Until I was introduced to my ESL teacher.
- 2:09She was a French teacher.
- 2:11And since I spoke French and Creole, she took me under her wing.
- 2:14She saw that I was always in tears and I was very sad every day when I go to school.
- 2:20Sure.
- 2:20She embraced me and took me under her wings.
- 2:23And I have to tell you that woman was a coach to me.
- 2:26I didn't know that's what it was, but she will work on my mindset.
- 2:29She will talk to me in French or make me smile.
- 2:32She'll make me see things differently.
- 2:34That I can see like how possible it is for me to be whoever I want to be.
- 2:39How possible it is for me to achieve my goals in America.
- 2:41How back home things were.
- 2:43You know, restricted limited and challenge it.
- 2:47back home.
- 2:47So here.
- 2:48The sky is the law is not even the limit.
- 2:50So I will find myself drawn into this lady.
- 2:54I would just go into her classes.
- 2:55I would just want to be able to all day long, she will have kids at parties and McDonnell, FranChoice parties.
- 3:01She used to call it worship precious things and bring it to her class for all her ESL teachers.
- 3:06But I have to tell you what she was.
- 3:08She made my life so easy.
- 3:11NFL seen, heard, and kind of decrease my anxiety, my depression.
- 3:16And it was a sad day when I graduated high school, because that means I had to really live.
- 3:21Her.
- 3:22And be somewhere else and I wasn't ready for that.
- 3:24I wish I had her number or even her.
- 3:27Home address to say thank you to her because she literally changed my life.
- 3:32I went from the press.
- 3:34To having hope.
- 3:35In America and also to having a career because I didn't want to do anything at the beginning.
- 3:41I just wanted to go to school, come home and cry.
- 3:43My grades were failing.
- 3:45And since she came into my life, I started passing my grades.
- 3:48she really changed my life.
- 3:50but unfortunately I don't have her contact information, but I would love to just.
- 3:54Show my gratitude to her and say thank you for being my coach, my very first coach.
- 3:59And thank you for changing everything.
- 4:01In my life.
- 4:02And set.
- 4:03The tone for my success in America.
- 4:06So that was my first experience to a coach.
- 4:08And then I moved on, I went to school, I had degrees and licenses and certifications and so on and so forth, but that was always looking for a coach.
- 4:17And I think my mentor was a coach.
- 4:20When I was training in emergency room.
- 4:23I have another doctor Dr.
- 4:24Logan, hopefully she's listening to the podcast.
- 4:27She was a coach to me.
- 4:28Because sometimes when you're in a journey and this is your first time on this journey.
- 4:33You don't know what you're doing.
- 4:34And you want to give up on yourself?
- 4:36That was me.
- 4:37Like going to school.
- 4:38And being trained with a whole bunch of MDs and dos.
- 4:42And PAs and nurse practitioners.
- 4:44And sometimes it's like, everybody's doing their own things or they have their own little cliques, they own little groups.
- 4:50And I was always by myself.
- 4:51So when I found my mentor, she literally made me feel.
- 4:55Part of her family.
- 4:57And she will check a meme.
- 4:58You can shoot things are going smoothly.
- 5:00And coach me.
- 5:01Not only the school, the schooling aspect of the, my studies, but also the mindset of it.
- 5:09So that was my second exposure to the coach.
- 5:11And then I went on to hire business coaches.
- 5:13I hired a mindset coach.
- 5:15a coach and I also had a F a personal fitness coach.
- 5:19So to me, a coach.
- 5:21Is.
- 5:22Someone hops.
- 5:23You focus on your emotional wellbeing.
- 5:25Your physical wellbeing and osteo, spiritual wellbeing.
- 5:28You have spiel.
- 5:29So coaches out there.
- 5:30So a medical coach is someone that has all three.
- 5:33So when I help my patients, I help them on the physical aspect.
- 5:37Like the supplements they should be taken at the medication, they should be taken.
- 5:40Getting them off the medications, if that's what they want to do that.
- 5:44Healthy lifestyle habits.
- 5:45They need to incorporate and create the nutritional aspect.
- 5:49Y.
- 5:49So I'm also a nutritional coach.
- 5:50So you can look at that as a half coach, but also help them.
- 5:55With the mindset.
- 5:57The general life coach.
- 5:59So I helped them work on the mind trauma and the stories that they're telling themselves.
- 6:04So I have been practicing medical coaching silently now.
- 6:08I am ready to embrace and communicate what it is without apologizing for it.
- 6:13Cause when I mentioned I'm a.
- 6:14Three things to my patients.
- 6:16Uh, get some feedback from people.
- 6:18They be like, what is a medical coach?
- 6:19What is that?
- 6:20What do you do?
- 6:21But when I find myself in my office visit talking to my patients, when we're not just talking about the pills they need to take.
- 6:27But we also talking about the things that are happening in their life.
- 6:30The things that are happening in their own.
- 6:32You know, household.
- 6:34That, how they feel about it because sometimes patients will come to me, stressed out with things that are happening with that spouse or the children, and that can affect.
- 6:42The progress in the program.
- 6:44So I cannot ignore that.
- 6:46And just make, it seems like, I don't know.
- 6:48that's an issue I have to address it.
- 6:50I have to help them address it and help them feel.
- 6:54Better than they came into our coaching call.
- 6:57So my office visits or different.
- 6:59But the coach focuses on all things life, They are different types of coaching.
- 7:05As I mentioned, you have a personal coach, professional fitness coach, half coach, a life coach, a business coach, a sports coach.
- 7:12And then of course, a medical coach.
- 7:14But having a coach will change your health.
- 7:17Journey.
- 7:17It is like having your very own personal champion, someone who has your best interest at heart.
- 7:24Even when it is scary, uncomfortable, or when my patients are going through the challenges.
- 7:29Or the changes that are presenting, for example, detoxification, sometimes you want to give up because you don't know what the body's doing, why you're feeling the way you feel in.
- 7:38And sometimes things are hard specifically.
- 7:40It is something new.
- 7:42It is a new journey.
- 7:43You just want to give up.
- 7:44But when the results are not fast enough and you have to be patient, there's nothing more valuable than having a coach, someone that can, you can reach out to.
- 7:53Well, not only has the experience, the expertise, but also understand what you're going through.
- 7:58So I come from a place of love, believe for who my patient wants to be in the future.
- 8:03Every time I coach my patients, is that a reset?
- 8:06Oh, minded to what is possible for them.
- 8:09Because again, it is hard for them to see it as they go into this whole journey.
- 8:12It is the time to focus and believe in that you can heal and keep making decisions that will help you continue seeing results and to create the life that you want.
- 8:21I make my patients hear the truth, even when it bite hurts or trigger them.
- 8:27Because that creates room for growth and involvement, I always challenged them to think differently, to really question everything the mind is telling them.
- 8:35They thought process because at the end of the day, your thought.
- 8:39Create your feelings and then that creates your result.
- 8:43So, if you feel sad, depressed, anxious, then you're not going to want to take actions.
- 8:48You're going to feel sad, depressed, and anxious.
- 8:49If your mind is telling you things are too hard, like.
- 8:52It is too hard to hear your body.
- 8:53It is too hard to reverse your diabetes.
- 8:55It is too hard to get rid of the guys in the bloat.
- 8:58That's the thought you have, then you're going to feel sad.
- 9:00You're going to feel defeated.
- 9:01You're gonna feel.
- 9:02The price you're going to feel hopeless, then you're not going to take actions to help you get to the results.
- 9:07So my job is to make them look.
- 9:09At the excuses or whatever the brain is telling them to really question that.
- 9:14Because you have to ask yourself, is it show is really hard.
- 9:17Because if it is hard, then nobody will.
- 9:19We'll do it.
- 9:19No one will have the results as they have.
- 9:21So as a coach, it is my job.
- 9:24If you are open to receive your coachable, then this.
- 9:27Would decrease your anxiety.
- 9:29And prevent you from failing or quitting on yourself.
- 9:33Of course you can Google all the things you can do all your research, and then you can just do things on your own.
- 9:39But as a medical coach, we are here to save your time, money, and energy.
- 9:44Because I've seen how people have.
- 9:46or symptoms they'll Google the best supplements for it, or the best protocol for it.
- 9:50Then they'll find something on.
- 9:53YouTube.
- 9:53Or Google, they'll try everything.
- 9:55They end up being overwhelmed and burnt out.
- 9:58And guess what?
- 9:59They'll give up.
- 10:00So I have them feel the emotions, feelings, urge to eat the buy food.
- 10:04I helped them with mail piping cooking.
- 10:07Really plenty in the life so they can get results.
- 10:09So a coach.
- 10:11Forces you to dig into your strength, courage, personal power, self-awareness self love that will result to more energy, more vitality, most time in ammo, cognitive function, not empowerment.
- 10:25Like.
- 10:26It's beautiful when you have a coach.
- 10:28In order for my patients to get the results they want.
- 10:32They have to want to think differently, grow in, do things.
- 10:36That they've never done before.
- 10:38Yes, it can be uncomfortable and painful.
- 10:40Bogus.
- 10:41What uncomfortability and being in pain is a picture of growth.
- 10:45Growing pain is necessary in any journey.
- 10:49In any of my programs, whereas my gut, the Clarion program, where I'm helping them eliminate gas bloat.
- 10:55Constipation area acid reflux, fatigue, headaches, skin issues, anxiety.
- 11:00Or my mood.
- 11:02Program or my diabetic.
- 11:04Reversal program.
- 11:05My patients know I create space in time for them.
- 11:08They can come to me with anything and everything.
- 11:11We're not only talking about the things that should be taken.
- 11:14We also, talking about things they should be.
- 11:16Implemented in the lives and how they should be feeding the mind first and then fit the body after.
- 11:21So it is powerful the way we address our patients' health conditions and the way we tackle this specific issues.
- 11:30They went to us, but every week I check on my patients, we do mindset work every week.
- 11:35Or do it, that should be a daily practice, but for me as a medical coach, I'm making sure that I'm addressing the mindset.
- 11:41Every week, every day, I'm checking on my patients to see how they're doing.
- 11:46And I let them know from the very beginning of them working with me, that I am here.
- 11:50I'm here for them.
- 11:51I'm here to help them navigate any issues and they should not be afraid or scared or worried, or think that by them, which are not to me, they are battling me.
- 12:01So that's also part of coaching is making them feel like they have someone available.
- 12:07For them at any time at any moment.
- 12:10And I'm only.
- 12:11a message away.
- 12:12And then in my weekly visits or my weekly zoom meetings and my group.
- 12:17Got the glitter and programs.
- 12:18We're also addressing the mindset as well.
- 12:21We usually start the call by set, avoiding something that is happening in the lives.
- 12:25And then we'll talk about it on the things that are not happening.
- 12:28So that kinda we program our minds to address not only address the focus on the positivity first.
- 12:34Before we can.
- 12:35I look at all the things that are not happening or the struggles or the challenges or the obstacles.
- 12:40To really feel sad and, feel defeated.
- 12:43So it is very powerful knowing that you have a doctor that can address multiple issues or multiple.
- 12:52Phases or multiple.
- 12:54Aspects of your life.
- 12:55And I just here take this pill, but also let's talk about how you feel today.
- 12:59Let's talk about your thoughts.
- 13:00Let's talk about the actions that you want to take, but you don't have the motivation.
- 13:06Or the stamina to take it.
- 13:08Let's talk about the things that are happening in your personal life and your professional life in your, in your life in general, and let's see how this can affect.
- 13:17Your health journey and that's what i do as a medical coach So I help my patient feel more alive, less alone.
- 13:25Feel seen, supported, and I just exist in, I just go into the emotions of life.
- 13:31Coaching is transformational.
- 13:33Having a coach, is that having a transformation fascinator.
- 13:37It transformation fascinator, Because we focused on serving you.
- 13:40We focus on.
- 13:42Cato into you.
- 13:43Sometimes we have to be bold, courageous, and willing to see things that will piss you off.
- 13:48But guess what?
- 13:49This out of love.
- 13:50It's things that you need to hear.
- 13:52It's not because we want to be mean and nasty to you.
- 13:54But when I have a coach, I see my coach has a personal cheerleader.
- 13:59That infuse love and support accountability.
- 14:03In my life.
- 14:04Because of that, I can overcome all challenges.
- 14:07And get to the healing that I deserve.
- 14:09I see my patients as not people that are broken the.
- 14:13Perfectly whole.
- 14:14They can have amazing life for greater than they have now.
- 14:17They want to want it.
- 14:19Of course.
- 14:20All of us are made for more.
- 14:21I truly believe that it is my job to have them see that, to have them experience that and to help them to reach that.
- 14:28I truly believe that it is my job to have them see experience enriched.
- 14:32I go, so as a coach, you can go far.
- 14:35Alone.
- 14:36You are limited and the journey can be so challenging.
- 14:40But when you have a coach, things can get easier.
- 14:43Because again, it's like a personal cheerleader, someone that has your back in your corner.
- 14:48That is ready to help you and address any issues and challenges that you may have.
- 14:53So being a medical coach, literally help.
- 14:56Improve the results in my practice, because again, I don't just give people pills or mail plans.
- 15:01I help them work through things they are facing in the lives.
- 15:06Because that is also part of the journey.
- 15:08So I highly recommend coaching to everyone that is looking for improvement.
- 15:13In the personal life.
- 15:14Professional life.
- 15:15Emotional life.
- 15:16Business life whatever area of life, there's a coach for it.
- 15:20That will help them take actions that will help them beat any anxiety, depression.
- 15:24Or sadness they have so that they can get up and continue make it take an action to see progress in the lives so hopefully you understand what the benefit.
- 15:34And also how necessary it is to have a medical coach thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for listening to this episode.
