- 0:01Mizrahi Inspiration. Sheer #10.
- 0:05What damage happened to the Jewish people?
- 0:08Not physical damage, but emotional, spiritual, connected
- 0:11to the Jewish people. Type damage happened over the
- 0:142000 years of exile. When you see in exile, our
- 0:18identity shifted away from a national character.
- 0:22We didn't speak of ourselves as a nation because it didn't mean
- 0:26anything. It was a concept that had no had
- 0:29no basis in the reality forming it.
- 0:32Therefore what did it do? It created a Judaism which
- 0:35focused on the individual and not on the cloud, not on the
- 0:39community. To Jews in Galotin Exile, the
- 0:41land of Israel was close to their hearts, but it was a
- 0:45faraway dream. Our homeland, Yes, Kadash, yes.
- 0:50A place to perform even more mid spot, yes.
- 0:53But a land vital to Judaism, To Torah?
- 0:58Well no, because the Judaism that was experienced for so many
- 1:04years was individual. Was each person's individual
- 1:08accounting with God? Each person's world to come?
- 1:11Olam haba, each person's private spirituality.
- 1:16A thinking evolved that we could be God fearing Jews just as well
- 1:19in Berlin or New York? London.
- 1:24It doesn't work. It's just that that that that
- 1:27concept is just not true. We cannot be the best possible
- 1:32Jews living outside of the land of Israel.
- 1:35It just doesn't work. Erit's Israel is not something
- 1:39external to us. It's spiritual.
- 1:42It's spiritually and physically a part of us, integral to our
- 1:46souls. An individual can wander about
- 1:49from place to place without a permanent home.
- 1:51But a nation, to be a nation, requires a land which is part of
- 1:56the miracle of 1948, that the nation resurrected itself.
- 2:00The vision in the prophets of in Haskell, in his equals, dry
- 2:03bones coming back to life, becoming bodies again.
- 2:07That miracle, that that prophecy that would have sounded so
- 2:10utterly farfetched and ridiculous came about The land
- 2:17of Israel is the land of Klausral, the community of
- 2:20Israel, the nation of Israel. We have to stop thinking of Tara
- 2:27in very limited ways. Tara is a national constitution
- 2:35embodied in a divinely chosen community and fulfilled in a
- 2:41land chosen by God, A divine community with a real
- 2:45government, a real army, a real economy and everything else of a
- 2:50real down to earth normal national life.
- 2:53It's that sense of bringing the religion down to the very small
- 2:57details of regular life. We have to stop thinking of
- 2:59religion to something you experience when you want
- 3:01something different. To bring Tori into every aspect
- 3:04of life. There are two important pursuk
- 3:10him that people should know, just know in terms of our our
- 3:13identity. The 1st is from the Prophet
- 3:16Isaiah, Yeshiah Chapter 43 Prospect 21.
- 3:20This nation I have formed for myself says Hashem and the 2nd
- 3:24possack from the book of Davarim chapter 28 Possack 10.
- 3:28And all the people of the earth shall see that you are called by
- 3:31the name of the Lord. We are a nation created by
- 3:34Hashem to proclaim his name in the world.
- 3:37And just as all other nations belong to a particular land,
- 3:40Hashem's nation belongs to a particular land.
- 3:45Now the word in Hebrew for chooses Bachhar.
- 3:48Listen to these three persukim. We know we say I share bachhar
- 3:53banu miko Harman. Hashem chose us.
- 3:56There's another password that says Ki bachhar hashem Betsy on
- 4:00Hashem chose Zion Ki Yaakkov Bachhar law ya.
- 4:06The Lord has chosen Yaakov. I mean the Jewish people for
- 4:10himself for his possession. The divinely chose the nature of
- 4:14our nation, of our land, is integral to understanding who we
- 4:18are as the Jewish people. Mull over those thoughts.
- 4:24Have a great day.
