- 1:00Speaker 3: The world's of vaginal podcast.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Evan will be going out in the cold.
- 1:13Speaker 4: I'm not happy about it.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Now, So let's tell this story, Evan. What's the subsession
- 1:19Speaker 3: with the weather right today? It gets down to the
- 1:22Speaker 3: low forties. Evan's like, you can't have it because it's
- 1:25Speaker 3: too cold, and so he goes.
- 1:26Speaker 4: He wants himself.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Those that set the lines no longer give three points
- 1:32Speaker 3: for the home team, no, listen, two points if you're
- 1:34Speaker 3: an outdoor team, and a point and a half for
- 1:36Speaker 3: dome teams. Okay, so I'll have to adjust that when
- 1:39Speaker 3: it comes out.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Okay, but I mean a guy big enough to handle
- 1:43Speaker 4: that load. The whole newsletter is just let us dump
- 1:46Speaker 4: on Paul.
- 1:47Speaker 3: The last newsletter headline was me going to the bathroom,
- 1:49Speaker 3: but he's been playing because it's all about it.
- 1:51Speaker 4: You can't even afford a car, and I'm supposed to
- 1:53Speaker 4: get like llllbean jeans.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Something that compliments you a little bit, better list, something
- 1:58Speaker 3: something that doesn't say, I'm going to the grocery store.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Do you need any.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Well, that would be sweats.
- 2:03Speaker 2: This is Patriots.

- 2:11Speaker 3: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 2:16Speaker 3: at your Let's stadium, and it's Alex, it's Paul, it's me,
- 2:20Speaker 3: Deuce and Evan will be by later. We got picks today,
- 2:23Speaker 3: so we got to hurry. But you know, a lot
- 2:27Speaker 3: to talk about as we get ready for the Rams.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Most of it, though, is not about the Rams. It's
- 2:32Speaker 3: more about our own team.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Got some news.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Yeah, Christian Barmore going to be back at practice, as
- 2:39Speaker 3: DeMarcus Comington said, that's a blessing. Good to see him back.
- 2:44Speaker 3: So I don't know like what his participation level will be,
- 2:48Speaker 3: but it'll be good to see him out there.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean big news. I think Mike Reese sort
- 2:53Speaker 4: of alluded to it this morning, and you know, I
- 2:56Speaker 4: think that they're anticipating and being out at practice.
- 3:00Speaker 3: And it's safe to say though he won't be in
- 3:02Speaker 3: the game.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Well, I mean I would I would doubt it, but no, don't.
- 3:06Speaker 4: I don't know for sure either way. But they did
- 3:10Speaker 4: ask Jerry Montgomery, the defensive line coach, some questions about
- 3:14Speaker 4: Christian and I think there's a lot of unknowns here,
- 3:18Speaker 4: so I would probably err on your side, Freddy that
- 3:21Speaker 4: he is probably not going to be immediately ready to
- 3:23Speaker 4: play in the game. But the fact that he going
- 3:25Speaker 4: to be back out at practice is a I think
- 3:29Speaker 4: a huge, huge positive. Yeah, that's the team for the player,
- 3:33Speaker 4: the teammates, everything.
- 3:35Speaker 5: Yep.
- 3:36Speaker 3: And you know, again going back to our Tuesday show,
- 3:41Speaker 3: the rest of the sports media is caught up with
- 3:43Speaker 3: us in giving Alex van Pelt his flowers, giving him
- 3:48Speaker 3: credit for the development of Drake May. Everyone's talking about
- 3:52Speaker 3: that today. Of course, Alex van Pelt spoke to the media,
- 3:56Speaker 3: so that kind of spurred some of the discussion. But
- 3:59Speaker 3: Mark Daniels had a nice piece this morning on the
- 4:02Speaker 3: search for offensive coordinator, and he listed the other eleven
- 4:07Speaker 3: people that the Patriots talked to. Did you see that?
- 4:10Speaker 4: No, I didn't. A mass Live, I did not. You
- 4:13Speaker 4: don't read the clips that come through in general terms? No,
- 4:16Speaker 4: but I can't really read a lot of them. They
- 4:20Speaker 4: do the clips differently. No, I'm ready to do.
- 4:23Speaker 6: Go off on this.
- 4:24Speaker 7: They do the clips differently, now, okay, yeah, Alex, it's
- 4:26Speaker 7: more difficult. It's and they understand that it's much easier
- 4:30Speaker 7: for them, but it's harder for us.
- 4:33Speaker 4: It is.
- 4:34Speaker 6: There's logins and this is like but.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I also I also, oh, yeah, like we could be
- 4:39Speaker 3: doing real But I'm not.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Complaining about it. They provide a service for us for nothing,
- 4:43Speaker 4: like they don't have they don't have to do that.
- 4:44Speaker 3: But on the X, I follow Daniels and I got
- 4:47Speaker 3: it through you know Twitter.
- 4:49Speaker 6: Yeah, do you notifications on for the beat writers?
- 4:51Speaker 3: No? I don't have notifications.
- 4:53Speaker 4: But so what is the point, like the guys that
- 4:55Speaker 4: they wanted over van Pelt doing well?
- 4:59Speaker 3: Not necessarily no, no, no, it's just he just listed
- 5:02Speaker 3: to people they talked to.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Right, yeah, the guys they wanted Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Okay, well not necessarily just because you talked to a guy,
- 5:08Speaker 3: doesn't mean you wanted him over Van Pell. They talked
- 5:12Speaker 3: to twelve people.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Okay, you know they offered other people the job.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Well, Kayley, they were they turned him out with I
- 5:20Speaker 3: don't know if I don't know if that's a fact, Kayley,
- 5:22Speaker 3: it is. Yeah, but there were ten other guys.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know about ten. But there were other
- 5:27Speaker 4: guys they offered the job to.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yeah, but not all of them. I don't know. I
- 5:30Speaker 3: don't know if every one of those what was so
- 5:32Speaker 3: what was.
- 5:32Speaker 4: The point of the guys that they talked to, Like,
- 5:35Speaker 4: I mean, I understand the Van Pelt side, because as
- 5:38Speaker 4: you said, we started that. Like, I don't know, you
- 5:42Speaker 4: know how much credit you want to give, but you
- 5:43Speaker 4: got to give some credit to Alex van Pelt helping
- 5:46Speaker 4: Drake May. Right, the guy has been developing at a
- 5:51Speaker 4: pretty consistent rate. He gets better virtually every time we
- 5:54Speaker 4: see him. You know this plays individually that are better
- 5:58Speaker 4: or worse, but he's getting better. I think every time
- 6:01Speaker 4: we get to watch him play. Alex van Pelt deserves
- 6:04Speaker 4: some credit for.
- 6:04Speaker 3: That, right, and now he's getting it because I don't.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Know what the other eleven guys have to do with anything.
- 6:10Speaker 7: No, it's like it's how you sell yourself on, like
- 6:12Speaker 7: the person you're with when you talk about how crazy
- 6:16Speaker 7: that turned you down?
- 6:17Speaker 6: Where I make an analogy.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I think his piece it was mostly about, you know,
- 6:24Speaker 3: the credit that Alex van pelt Is should be receiving
- 6:28Speaker 3: for the development, but also it talked about, you know,
- 6:31Speaker 3: just briefly, the search and these were the other people
- 6:34Speaker 3: that they talked to and that they're happy with who
- 6:38Speaker 3: they settled on.
- 6:40Speaker 4: So okay, that would run a little counter to some
- 6:43Speaker 4: of the other reports that are out there. Well, yeah,
- 6:45Speaker 4: like the other we talked about yesterday.
- 6:47Speaker 3: The other reports are no one else wanted it?
- 6:50Speaker 4: Oh no, no, no, Like the reports out there that have
- 6:53Speaker 4: talked about the crafts are you know, sort of seeking counsel,
- 6:57Speaker 4: that's how to deal with young quarterbacks, you know, how
- 7:00Speaker 4: to better help a young.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I heard that that report is vastly inaccurate. Okay, that
- 7:08Speaker 3: someone took a conversation and extrapolated it into what the
- 7:13Speaker 3: report was. It's not accurate.
- 7:16Speaker 4: But I don't know, No, I You're right, I don't.
- 7:18Speaker 4: We don't know. When you use you know, sort of
- 7:21Speaker 4: different sources and whatnot. Sometimes this something could get lost
- 7:26Speaker 4: in the translation.
- 7:26Speaker 3: That to me, that's a different report. I'm just talking
- 7:29Speaker 3: about the reports in the off season about the offensive
- 7:33Speaker 3: coordinator coordinator search. So that's all.
- 7:36Speaker 6: It's just, you know, it's just funny to see, like
- 7:39Speaker 6: two weeks ago the narrative. Oh yeah, and now it's
- 7:43Speaker 6: just amazing what.
- 7:44Speaker 4: One It was like five days ago Mayo was going
- 7:46Speaker 4: to get fired. Yeah, now he's better than Belichick, which
- 7:50Speaker 4: is what I was told yesterday and changed my stint
- 7:52Speaker 4: on my other show. Do you think he's better?
- 7:56Speaker 3: Like that's ridiculous, what are we doing?
- 8:00Speaker 8: No?
- 8:00Speaker 3: I think I actually they actually put that clip on
- 8:03Speaker 3: social and I think I saw that clip with the
- 8:06Speaker 3: three of you, and I think you handled it well.
- 8:08Speaker 4: They put that on on our.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Social social media.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh their social media.
- 8:14Speaker 3: If you follow them, you get it.
- 8:15Speaker 4: Yeah, so I saw.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I think you handled that.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Yeah. I was like, the guy won six Super Bowls,
- 8:24Speaker 4: he's a Hall of Famer, arguably the greatest coach of
- 8:27Speaker 4: all time, and I'm supposed to say a guy who's
- 8:29Speaker 4: coached ten games is better?
- 8:30Speaker 9: Right?
- 8:31Speaker 4: He feel like I'm getting set up here.
- 8:33Speaker 3: He was definitely trying to bait you. So, but I
- 8:37Speaker 3: think I think they're making the comparison of where this
- 8:42Speaker 3: team was last year compared to this this year and
- 8:45Speaker 3: right now, compared to where the team ended last year,
- 8:49Speaker 3: it was a mess. Things were falling apart. Now it
- 8:53Speaker 3: seems like things are starting to write itself a little bit,
- 8:57Speaker 3: just in terms of attitude and and and all that.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Talent wise, they're probably no better than they were last year.
- 9:05Speaker 3: You know, it's the same, but other than Drake May
- 9:09Speaker 3: but that's a big other, that's a huge other.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Well, you feel better about it because Drake exactly, and
- 9:15Speaker 4: it wasn't I wasn't allowed to use that in.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Other than Drake May. Well, that's kind of a big
- 9:20Speaker 3: thing that now we think that we've got the quarterback,
- 9:23Speaker 3: We've got the guy, and now so let's fill in
- 9:26Speaker 3: the rest of the pieces.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Right, So, if you're going to compare it as I
- 9:30Speaker 4: was asked to Alex from last year at this time
- 9:32Speaker 4: to this year, at this time, like last year, at
- 9:34Speaker 4: this time, I didn't know who the quarterback would be
- 9:37Speaker 4: this year.
- 9:38Speaker 7: Yeah, now, Ias, you were on our way home from Germany,
- 9:40Speaker 7: and right, that was the whole, the lowest of the
- 9:42Speaker 7: low that was.
- 9:43Speaker 4: The whole jumping off point on the field football wise,
- 9:46Speaker 4: it's probably not all that different, but it feels way
- 9:49Speaker 4: different because you have a quarterback in place that you
- 9:52Speaker 4: feel pretty good about. You're excited about watching him play
- 9:55Speaker 4: and develop. Last year, you knew that mac Jones was
- 10:00Speaker 4: not the answer, well most did, right. It wasn't just
- 10:05Speaker 4: because they didn't have receivers, and it wasn't just because
- 10:08Speaker 4: Bill was mean to him. He wasn't the answer. Now
- 10:11Speaker 4: you have what you think is the answer. So to me, mentally,
- 10:15Speaker 4: you're in a much better place. You have a new
- 10:17Speaker 4: coach who was not going anywhere. Last year at this time,
- 10:20Speaker 4: you had an old coach who you kind of thought
- 10:21Speaker 4: was on the way out. There were reports coming back
- 10:23Speaker 4: from Germany from Tom Curran that Belichick was going to
- 10:27Speaker 4: get fired. Yep, maybe in season you remember, yep. So
- 10:32Speaker 4: mentally it's night and day better now. Yeah, But on
- 10:36Speaker 4: the field it's probably the same.
- 10:38Speaker 3: About the same.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, maybe a little better offensively, a little
- 10:41Speaker 4: worse defensively.
- 10:42Speaker 7: Defense is worse, but you're able to just kind of yeah,
- 10:45Speaker 7: I don't know. You build up the narrative in your
- 10:47Speaker 7: mind that like, the most important position is the quarterback,
- 10:49Speaker 7: and if you have that how bad are your problems?
- 10:52Speaker 4: As I said to Phil Perry a little while ago
- 10:54Speaker 4: in the media workroom, sneaky important position quarterback who knew
- 10:58Speaker 4: because the same thing happened to him last night on
- 11:00Speaker 4: the TV show. Sure, he's like other than Drake May. Okay,
- 11:05Speaker 4: you're right, Mike. If I take the quarterback out, you're
- 11:07Speaker 4: right right.
- 11:08Speaker 3: But having the guy freeze you up, it frees up.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 3: It's like, you know, uh, the Patriots organization for twenty
- 11:18Speaker 3: years now hasn't had to worry about selling tickets. Yeah
- 11:20Speaker 3: they've been sold out yep. That frees up marketing to
- 11:24Speaker 3: do all this other stuff where a lot of other
- 11:28Speaker 3: teams don't have that luxury, you know, like every day
- 11:30Speaker 3: they wake up thinking how do we sell more tickets? Yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 3: same thing in personnel. If you don't have to wake
- 11:36Speaker 3: up thinking who's going to be our quarterback, it frees
- 11:39Speaker 3: you up to do all the other stuff. It's it's
- 11:42Speaker 3: a huge thing. And so if you don't feel better
- 11:45Speaker 3: about where the Patriots are right now compared to last year,
- 11:48Speaker 3: then I don't know what to tell you.
- 11:49Speaker 7: I mean, I don't even think you need to compare
- 11:51Speaker 7: it to last year. Just compare it to week two.
- 11:53Speaker 7: You know, when there was so much uncertain new coach,
- 11:56Speaker 7: new quarterback. You don't know what Drake May is at
- 11:58Speaker 7: that point. Now we've seen like, oh yeah, crap, we
- 12:02Speaker 7: really are on.
- 12:03Speaker 3: It was a huge sigh of relief to see him
- 12:04Speaker 3: out there and say, okay, he can play.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 6: But week two, week three, we were done bad.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Yeah, he's not this guy that we were told. You know, oh,
- 12:12Speaker 3: he's not ready. He's gonna get hurt. They're gonna ruin him.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Like things things are okay, let's you know, nothing's nothing's
- 12:20Speaker 3: in the bank yet.
- 12:22Speaker 6: But now you know the direction we're headed in.
- 12:24Speaker 3: You know.
- 12:24Speaker 7: Yeah, before it was like with Mac, it felt like
- 12:27Speaker 7: we were caught in between, like, oh, let's go out
- 12:30Speaker 7: and get these win now receivers so we can finally
- 12:33Speaker 7: know what we have in Mac. But also we're rebuilding,
- 12:35Speaker 7: like we had one foot on the sand, one foot
- 12:37Speaker 7: in the water, and now we just have a clear direction.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Yep, yep, yep.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Good stuff.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Yeah, all right.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Podcasts at Patriots dot com is the email address eight
- 12:51Speaker 3: five five PATS five hundred is the eighth is the
- 12:53Speaker 3: TPX hotline. Why am I reverting? But again, if you
- 12:58Speaker 3: want to get the newsletter. All you have to do
- 13:01Speaker 3: is email podcasts at patriots dot com and you will
- 13:05Speaker 3: automatically be put into the distribution list. We had some
- 13:08Speaker 3: people email me recently they said they've emailed the show,
- 13:12Speaker 3: they haven't received the newsletter from someone. I checked with
- 13:15Speaker 3: wiz Kanifa his team, and they said that sometimes it
- 13:19Speaker 3: can go into spam because the email address that you
- 13:23Speaker 3: actually receive it from is like e N dot Patriot
- 13:27Speaker 3: Place dot some you know. So I said, listen, can
- 13:29Speaker 3: we fix that so that it says it's from Patriots unfiltered,
- 13:32Speaker 3: so it doesn't go into people spam. They're gonna work
- 13:35Speaker 3: on that, but do check your you know, your trash
- 13:39Speaker 3: or your spam folder for something that says something like
- 13:42Speaker 3: e S or e N dot Patriot Place.
- 13:46Speaker 4: So much more, it is like, it's just it's a
- 13:49Speaker 4: shame that there's so many bad people in all seriousness,
- 13:52Speaker 4: there's so many bad people out there that you have
- 13:53Speaker 4: to go through this kind of stuff like the security
- 13:56Speaker 4: to do everyday work. Now, I haven't even.
- 13:58Speaker 7: Been getting my emails in my direct inbox from our
- 14:01Speaker 7: own PR staff like that either.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you have all the spyware on your machine.
- 14:06Speaker 4: But it's everything, you know, just to log into your computer.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Now it's like these complicated passwords that you have to
- 14:14Speaker 4: try to formulate.
- 14:15Speaker 7: And you really need it though, And this is not
- 14:18Speaker 7: it's crazy how easily people can I mean, they're hacking
- 14:20Speaker 7: into hospitals exactly.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Not a shot at at I T or anything like that.
- 14:24Speaker 4: It's it's unfortunately, it's it's the world we live.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just a bad It's bad out there, a lot.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Of bad people.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Yeah, bad. But anyway, so check your spam folder. Yeah,
- 14:37Speaker 3: if you did, email us. I've sent every email of
- 14:40Speaker 3: people saying they haven't gotten it. I've sent it back
- 14:43Speaker 3: to them to make sure that you're on the list.
- 14:45Speaker 3: So have no fear, you know. But we are getting
- 14:51Speaker 3: those newsletters out there.
- 14:53Speaker 6: Yeah, important updates.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yeah, some jewels worth? Any teaser for tomorrow send for sure.
- 15:00Speaker 7: I won't give it all away. Paul had a great
- 15:03Speaker 7: contribution I received this morning. But a little fun Evan update.
- 15:07Speaker 7: Evan walked to availability today and outside I went outside
- 15:11Speaker 7: to take a picture and everything.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Oh good.
- 15:13Speaker 4: We ashamed him.
- 15:13Speaker 6: I'm gonna do maybe some sports science segments.
- 15:16Speaker 7: See how many steps it took that he avoided because
- 15:19Speaker 7: he told me today. He confided in me that to
- 15:22Speaker 7: go upstairs and go to media availability yesterday through the inside,
- 15:26Speaker 7: it took him like five minutes when it could have
- 15:28Speaker 7: just been like, like, how many feet is it from
- 15:31Speaker 7: one door to the other.
- 15:33Speaker 3: It's probably like fifty yards, yeah yeah.
- 15:35Speaker 9: If that's generous too, Yeah yeah, it's probably like thirty
- 15:38Speaker 9: to thirty yard line.
- 15:40Speaker 6: Yeah, thirty second walk.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Maybe, and it ends very He.
- 15:44Speaker 7: Had to go through internal like in the building. It's
- 15:47Speaker 7: just I was like, what is he.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Get away from the elevator. Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like you're hitting every direction.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Click on it, click on it it.
- 15:55Speaker 7: See the people upstairs elevator.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Do you use your finger or your knuckle?
- 16:00Speaker 6: I use my knuckle. Yeah, I don't.
- 16:02Speaker 7: I think about I'm weird with doors and with elevators,
- 16:06Speaker 7: like if I can't have my sleeve, and that's what
- 16:08Speaker 7: takes me down.
- 16:09Speaker 4: That's what takes me down. I mean, what are you
- 16:11Speaker 4: gonna do?
- 16:12Speaker 7: It's less about the germs than like, I don't know,
- 16:15Speaker 7: you like touch your face?
- 16:16Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 16:17Speaker 7: Yeah, It's it's less about getting like sick and more
- 16:20Speaker 7: about like I don't want to ZiT because I touched
- 16:22Speaker 7: my face because some dirty person on the elevator.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Do people still use zis as zip pimple?
- 16:29Speaker 10: Oh?
- 16:29Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 16:30Speaker 6: What else do you say?
- 16:31Speaker 4: We think we think Acne went away?
- 16:33Speaker 3: No, I mean, but you haven't heard someone use the
- 16:35Speaker 3: word ZiT in a long time.
- 16:36Speaker 4: There you go, alex is bringing it back.
- 16:40Speaker 3: It's always new again.
- 16:41Speaker 4: I'm bringing zis back, all.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Right, So we do have picks today. Evan will be
- 16:48Speaker 3: coming back. So'll be coming back, so I might as
- 16:51Speaker 3: well just get right to Yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I mean, I wish I had more that I could
- 16:54Speaker 4: sort of dive into, but it's I think a lot
- 16:57Speaker 4: of the morning was about Christian Barmore, especially when DeMarcus
- 17:01Speaker 4: Covington spoke. There was, you know, some talk about that,
- 17:06Speaker 4: and he, as you accurately put it, Freddy, DeMarcus kept stressing, like,
- 17:12Speaker 4: forget about what he might be able to do on
- 17:14Speaker 4: the field, just take it as a blessing that he's
- 17:16Speaker 4: out there. You know, three three months ago or so,
- 17:20Speaker 4: there was legit concern that he might never be able
- 17:22Speaker 4: to play again. So it's not necessar really looking for
- 17:26Speaker 4: Christian Barmore to be Christian Barmore on Sunday. Just the
- 17:29Speaker 4: fact that he's going to be out of practice is
- 17:32Speaker 4: is a blessing. And you know that was kind of
- 17:34Speaker 4: the same message that Jerry Montgomery almost called him Jerry
- 17:37Speaker 4: maguire Jerry Montgomery had when when he was talking about it.
- 17:41Speaker 4: He also sparked by our own Mike Deso. Deuce set
- 17:49Speaker 4: off a long back and forth about Jeremiah Farms and
- 17:54Speaker 4: just you know how well he played on Sunday against Chicago.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Montgomery was very we.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Got to change this channel. We're watching this. I mean,
- 18:01Speaker 3: it's a hunting and they're like taking down these leopards
- 18:05Speaker 3: and stuff. It's like, I don't need to see that.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I'm not I'm all for hunting for like food,
- 18:11Speaker 3: but like you know, killing hold on, hold on. It
- 18:16Speaker 3: was called trigger Time TV.
- 18:17Speaker 6: Yeah, trigger Times that's the actual name of this.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Now we got a NFL network on, Yeah, NFL netw
- 18:25Speaker 4: work is we already changed it?
- 18:27Speaker 9: He changed put the NFL Nework on for you control
- 18:31Speaker 9: that wow, Fred putting his foot down.
- 18:35Speaker 6: We're a Peter friendly podcast.
- 18:38Speaker 4: I mean, is you guys are adjacent?
- 18:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 18:43Speaker 4: No, I love my cat. I would never do anything.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Holding up a dead leper's head. You know, Oh good
- 18:49Speaker 3: for you. You know, it's a real sport. You know,
- 18:52Speaker 3: you're like guards away shooting it with a rifle.
- 18:55Speaker 4: You got shrakes on now.
- 18:56Speaker 9: For next week's newsletter.
- 18:59Speaker 3: I just I don't know, I just don't see the
- 19:01Speaker 3: need to shoot animals like that, like unless you're eating them,
- 19:06Speaker 3: Like if you're eating them, fine, you know, or if
- 19:08Speaker 3: you need clothes if you're out, you know, but just.
- 19:10Speaker 4: Survive, not for big sport, for survival, not for sport.
- 19:14Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a really that's out of touch activity.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Apparently not just TV shows about it.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I know a lot of you know,
- 19:22Speaker 4: a lot of people enjoy hunting and whatnot. It's just
- 19:24Speaker 4: nothing that of a really interested in me.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Anyway, we digress. Jacob the pool Guy writes in at
- 19:30Speaker 3: podcasts could.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Use a good pool guy wire you were you based?
- 19:34Speaker 4: Out of there? Jacobs.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Does he say where he's from? He doesn't. Eric would
- 19:37Speaker 3: not like that. Now, I love you guys, doesn't where
- 19:41Speaker 3: he says he loves us. But all this talk about
- 19:44Speaker 3: if May had started, we'd have a better record and
- 19:46Speaker 3: May would be better it's just silly. I'm talking revisionist
- 19:50Speaker 3: history through ruby tinted lenses here. That O line we
- 19:53Speaker 3: had during those games was an absolute mess. Rossett was
- 19:56Speaker 3: running for his life at the snap of the ball.
- 19:59Speaker 3: He took a ton of hits and made some neo
- 20:01Speaker 3: in the matrix type evasions. Yes, May is better, but
- 20:04Speaker 3: come on, he wasn't ready and probably would have been
- 20:07Speaker 3: hurt and turned the ball over more.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Agree with the last part, would have been hurt. No,
- 20:13Speaker 4: he would have turned the ball over more. Yeah, I
- 20:16Speaker 4: don't think there's been I don't think there's been a
- 20:17Speaker 4: lot of talk on this show about how much better
- 20:19Speaker 4: they would have been record wise if he had played
- 20:22Speaker 4: from the beginning. I think Fred and I maintained that
- 20:25Speaker 4: you might be getting a better version of Drake May
- 20:28Speaker 4: now by now had he played the first five games,
- 20:31Speaker 4: and now he's making his eleventh start on Sunday instead
- 20:33Speaker 4: of his sixthep. But I don't think that the record.
- 20:37Speaker 4: I think you can make a strong argument to back
- 20:40Speaker 4: up the emailer the first win of the year against
- 20:42Speaker 4: Cincinnati that had Drake May played, you might not have won.
- 20:45Speaker 4: That's true because you needed to be almost perfect that
- 20:48Speaker 4: day in terms of turnovers, you know, negative plays and whatnot.
- 20:53Speaker 4: In per set I thought was instrumental and avoiding mistakes.
- 20:58Speaker 3: That's true.
- 20:58Speaker 6: That you think of the hits that Jacoby took.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Early on, like you don't. I don't know.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Now, let's just you know he contributed to But in
- 21:07Speaker 4: terms of the offensive line, though it's the same offensive line,
- 21:10Speaker 4: I mean like there's been different guys every week, and
- 21:12Speaker 4: you can change the Ben Brown name for David Andrews
- 21:15Speaker 4: and you know whatever. The offensive line has been an
- 21:19Speaker 4: issue and every.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Week Jordan and Kansas a few weeks ago and Catch
- 21:23Speaker 3: twenty two, Evan mentioned and how we always had questioned
- 21:27Speaker 3: mac Jones's arm strength and athleticism. I want to piggyback
- 21:31Speaker 3: on that because I remember this like it was yesterday.
- 21:34Speaker 3: During every training camp in Max's career, there would be
- 21:37Speaker 3: news covered and how this year Max looks in shape,
- 21:40Speaker 3: or mac Jones put an extra ten yards in its
- 21:42Speaker 3: deep ball, and every year I fell for it until
- 21:45Speaker 3: the regular season starts and he looks the exact same.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Should have listened to Paul when he would scoff and
- 21:50Speaker 3: say it doesn't look much different to me.
- 21:53Speaker 4: So I wasn't going to be obnoxious and say you
- 21:55Speaker 4: should have listened to Paul. I would say you should
- 21:57Speaker 4: listen to this show because I don't think that we
- 21:59Speaker 4: as a show ever really fell for right Oh what
- 22:03Speaker 4: an improvement in the overall skill set. Yep, you know,
- 22:06Speaker 4: because I've fallen for many of those in the off seasons, Alex,
- 22:09Speaker 4: Like Vince Wilfork redistributing the weight. I've written many a
- 22:13Speaker 4: pulse story on that over the years, and then I
- 22:16Speaker 4: would be kind of like watching him, like, yeah, it
- 22:18Speaker 4: kind of looks like the same Vince Wilfork to me,
- 22:20Speaker 4: you know, different things like that. But Mac Jones to me,
- 22:24Speaker 4: lacked certain physical skills coming into the league that aren't
- 22:29Speaker 4: necessarily teachable.
- 22:31Speaker 7: Yeah, like he might have come in with better conditioning,
- 22:33Speaker 7: but it's not like he showed up to camp just
- 22:35Speaker 7: jacked all of a sudden.
- 22:36Speaker 4: You know. And I think his arm strength was lacking
- 22:40Speaker 4: and his mobility was lacking. Like you can improve some
- 22:44Speaker 4: of your instincts and whatnot, but you're not just going
- 22:47Speaker 4: to suddenly go from having no arm strength to a plus,
- 22:50Speaker 4: aren't it.
- 22:51Speaker 3: And he was supposed to make up for that with
- 22:53Speaker 3: right the upstairs, and that didn't work out.
- 22:56Speaker 4: He ended up being exactly as he was predicted to be.
- 22:59Speaker 4: He was going to be a guy that was going
- 23:01Speaker 4: to be ready to play right away. At a level
- 23:04Speaker 4: with a high floor and a low ceiling, and that's
- 23:07Speaker 4: exactly what he turned out.
- 23:08Speaker 3: To be, except the floor collapsed.
- 23:11Speaker 4: No, I just think that what you see is what
- 23:13Speaker 4: you get. Like he's going to come in as a
- 23:15Speaker 4: kind of a ready made product, and that's what he's
- 23:17Speaker 4: going to be, and that's, in my opinion, not good enough.
- 23:20Speaker 3: I still contend that that first half of his rookie season,
- 23:24Speaker 3: they coddled him in terms of on the field, the
- 23:28Speaker 3: play calling and such, and it hurt him. Not that
- 23:31Speaker 3: he would have been any better, but like, that's not
- 23:34Speaker 3: the way I think you should handle your quarterback. You
- 23:39Speaker 3: gotta let him make mistakes. Brad formerly of Narragansett Paul.
- 23:43Speaker 3: He says, Brad who invented the fast break in basketball?
- 23:47Speaker 3: It's a trivia question.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I don't know the answer, but I'm going to go
- 23:51Speaker 4: with Brett auerback. No, close to home, closer to your home,
- 23:56Speaker 4: closer to Everett.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Yep, the guy's name. He's a basketball Hall of Famer
- 24:02Speaker 3: and he's a former Everett High school football coach.
- 24:05Speaker 4: Denny Gilday Frank Keeney never heard that name.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Of Supposedly, according to Bradley of Narragansett. He invented the
- 24:14Speaker 3: fast break in basketball.
- 24:15Speaker 4: It's a great factoid that I'm going to have to
- 24:18Speaker 4: look into because I've never heard that name.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Frank Keeney.
- 24:22Speaker 4: He was a football coach, That's what he.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Says, Everett he school football coach.
- 24:27Speaker 4: M Yeah, I thought I went from gil data Moody. SOO, anyway, yesterday,
- 24:34Speaker 4: what are you laughing at? You know what I forgot?
- 24:36Speaker 4: You didn't really you don't have roots. You don't have
- 24:39Speaker 4: like Don Draper, you have no people.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Don't have root.
- 24:41Speaker 4: You have no roots. I don't know because you did.
- 24:44Speaker 4: You moved around a lot, so like I grew up
- 24:47Speaker 4: in EVERYTT so I know kind of you know, the
- 24:50Speaker 4: one of.
- 24:51Speaker 6: The part of the lord. Apparently I.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Don't know.
- 24:57Speaker 6: Is that what the email said? The gentleman, I'm.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Not in the High Hall of Fame Basketball Hall of Fame.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Wow, I'm not in the Evert High Hall of Fame.
- 25:05Speaker 4: That is fact.
- 25:07Speaker 3: What I was asking, Why actually in the ever High Hall?
- 25:10Speaker 4: A good question? Yeah, no, because I was a very
- 25:12Speaker 4: average athlete. I don't belong.
- 25:14Speaker 6: But as a broadcaster, I don't think.
- 25:16Speaker 4: They have that.
- 25:17Speaker 3: You were just an average.
- 25:18Speaker 6: Base should name the press High school.
- 25:22Speaker 4: That's it's actually named after somebody else, Arnold Boardman, who
- 25:26Speaker 4: was a long time Everett sports historian Arnie Boardman.
- 25:31Speaker 6: So you have no chance.
- 25:32Speaker 4: No, no, he's a legend.
- 25:33Speaker 6: Maybe they'll name like a chair after you in the
- 25:35Speaker 6: press box.
- 25:38Speaker 4: So it's too bad because the stadium has been redone
- 25:41Speaker 4: they used to have like this old school. It was
- 25:43Speaker 4: a great at the original Everett Stadium was a was
- 25:47Speaker 4: a great place to watch the game. Had a huge
- 25:48Speaker 4: horseshoe of stands, you know, sat like ten thousand seriously, yeah,
- 25:52Speaker 4: no for for around here, right, And they had like
- 25:56Speaker 4: this long, like a real actual press box with like
- 25:59Speaker 4: multiple rooms in it.
- 26:01Speaker 3: So was this like the.
- 26:02Speaker 6: Big concrete Is it made of concrete?
- 26:05Speaker 4: No, it wasn't.
- 26:06Speaker 6: I don't know what I'm thinking.
- 26:07Speaker 4: You might be thinking Chelsea Stadium right down on Root sixteen,
- 26:12Speaker 4: right down the road, and that was Cement. But we
- 26:16Speaker 4: used to in you know, in the in the winter months,
- 26:20Speaker 4: you know, when it was a little cold to be
- 26:24Speaker 4: partaking in bud lights outside. See how I incorporated the sponsor.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Therefore we used to we used to break into the
- 26:32Speaker 4: old press box. We brought our own space heater in
- 26:36Speaker 4: a light music, and we would party. We'd hang out
- 26:40Speaker 4: and kind a party, four or five of us have
- 26:44Speaker 4: a few beers. And but they took that whole press
- 26:47Speaker 4: box away. That that's gone. And I always wondered because
- 26:50Speaker 4: we broke the lock off and put our own lock on,
- 26:53Speaker 4: and I always wondered what happened like the next year,
- 26:55Speaker 4: like when they came and they were like, how come
- 26:57Speaker 4: this doesn't work?
- 26:59Speaker 3: I have a good story about that, but it's for
- 27:02Speaker 3: another time, because look who's back from the locker room.
- 27:07Speaker 5: What was the mood where the players friendly to that
- 27:09Speaker 5: none of them looked like to make Henry.
- 27:12Speaker 11: Hey Mike, what was a lighter in the locker room?
- 27:17Speaker 12: Ha, Mike?
- 27:18Speaker 3: What was it like in the locker room? Hey Mike?
- 27:23Speaker 9: What It's great? I just feel so chill right now.
- 27:28Speaker 9: Uh yeah, it was a good day. I think. I
- 27:31Speaker 9: actually I changed it up a little bit today because
- 27:34Speaker 9: Paul can attest to we were with the coaches earlier today,
- 27:36Speaker 9: and of course we went in with Jerry M. Montgomery.
- 27:38Speaker 9: Everybody wanted to talk about Christian Barmore.
- 27:40Speaker 3: He almost said, sound like which I almost I almost
- 27:45Speaker 3: did the same.
- 27:46Speaker 9: Yeah, Jeremy Commy, but I but I asked him about
- 27:48Speaker 9: Jeremiah Farms, and he just lit up and had some
- 27:50Speaker 9: really great things to say about Jeremiah Farm. So I
- 27:52Speaker 9: was like, you know what, instead of just getting when
- 27:54Speaker 9: everybody gets today, I'm gonna hang out and talk to
- 27:56Speaker 9: Jeremy Farms a little bit one on one. So just
- 27:58Speaker 9: cornered him and you know, told him a little of
- 28:00Speaker 9: the stuff that his coach was saying about him. And
- 28:02Speaker 9: you know, every cry, he didn't cry. I almost cried
- 28:05Speaker 9: a couple of times though, but I got my own
- 28:06Speaker 9: things going on. So that's a separate that's a separate story.
- 28:10Speaker 9: So I was like, we need an episode, but no,
- 28:17Speaker 9: he's a really, really good kid, you know. And it's
- 28:20Speaker 9: just like one of those people I think you meet
- 28:22Speaker 9: them in life where you just see somebody who is
- 28:24Speaker 9: a hard worker, isn't looking for praise or notoriety. He
- 28:29Speaker 9: loves playing football and you know, he just he wants
- 28:31Speaker 9: to be here. He's a morning person also, which you
- 28:33Speaker 9: know Jerry said he was here at five am in
- 28:35Speaker 9: the morning, you know, studying film. So yeah, some good stuff.
- 28:38Speaker 9: I'm just gonna write about him a little bit today
- 28:40Speaker 9: and put Barmore on the back burner because I think
- 28:42Speaker 9: Barmore will we'll talk tomorrow. But did hear I did
- 28:45Speaker 9: get in on Jalen Pope though he did go and
- 28:47Speaker 9: talk with with the TV cameras.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Gonna be okay with that.
- 28:51Speaker 9: I don't know it was they were kind of easy
- 28:53Speaker 9: on him though. The questions. There wasn't a lot of
- 28:56Speaker 9: like it seems like you're in it. It was just
- 28:57Speaker 9: more you know, what does that touchdown mean? How you've
- 29:00Speaker 9: developed with Drake. There wasn't a whole lot of it
- 29:02Speaker 9: seems like you've been, you know, fighting it for for
- 29:05Speaker 9: a few weeks now, maybe a month. But yeah, otherwise,
- 29:08Speaker 9: I know Godshaw talked. I didn't see him as when
- 29:11Speaker 9: I was talking to Farms, but otherwise everybody was there
- 29:13Speaker 9: stood near Christian Barmore looked like he had a new helmet,
- 29:15Speaker 9: getting that shiny new you know, no stick marks on
- 29:18Speaker 9: it or anything, getting ready to fire the helmet up
- 29:20Speaker 9: for practice today. So I think everybody's excited to get
- 29:23Speaker 9: him back out there.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Did you take anything out of a VP or Covington today?
- 29:27Speaker 3: Anything newsworthy?
- 29:29Speaker 9: I mean, I got I thought the pickup stats is there?
- 29:31Speaker 9: To me and Paul were talking to talk about, Yeah,
- 29:32Speaker 9: you talk about that a little bit. I mean that's
- 29:34Speaker 9: you know, it's just I think, I look, I love coaching.
- 29:36Speaker 9: I love you know, even if I don't agree or
- 29:39Speaker 9: you know, a thought of things. I just love the
- 29:41Speaker 9: different ways that coaches, you know, try to find ways
- 29:44Speaker 9: to make their team, uh, you know, come together. And
- 29:47Speaker 9: I think that's you know, something that that they're doing.
- 29:49Speaker 9: But no, otherwise I think it was you know, pretty
- 29:52Speaker 9: pretty standard weak. I mean, it's probably nice for DeMarcus
- 29:54Speaker 9: Covington to be able to get up there after a
- 29:55Speaker 9: really strong performance and you know, feel like because he's
- 29:59Speaker 9: one of the guys that we we've been you know
- 30:00Speaker 9: talking about the defense, is you know, falling off a
- 30:02Speaker 9: little bit certainly here they've been injuries. But yeah, I
- 30:05Speaker 9: think I think, what did.
- 30:06Speaker 3: You think of him saying, you know, I do feel
- 30:09Speaker 3: like I'm a better coach now than I was week one?
- 30:11Speaker 9: Yeah, I hope. So, I mean, you know, I think so.
- 30:13Speaker 9: I mean, obviously we can point to the Britton Schooler
- 30:15Speaker 9: twist that that he incorporated, which is just a great
- 30:18Speaker 9: Paul Stone and out I was trying to do a
- 30:20Speaker 9: joke and Paul was just I.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Was trying to figure out this trivia question I'm sorry.
- 30:24Speaker 9: Sorry, I was to needle you a little bit with
- 30:26Speaker 9: some fun about Brandon score now just but I mean
- 30:29Speaker 9: I would say, you know, pred was asking about Covington
- 30:31Speaker 9: improving and I mean you should, right, I mean, anybody
- 30:33Speaker 9: you don't do a job long enough, you should be improving.
- 30:35Speaker 9: I guess the question is improving enough? And you know,
- 30:38Speaker 9: can they carried over this week? But I continue though,
- 30:41Speaker 9: I'd say the one thing I continue to be intrigued
- 30:43Speaker 9: by is just this Rams defense, and you know, all
- 30:45Speaker 9: the coaches are praising them in a similar way of
- 30:48Speaker 9: just like, man, I'm a little bit jealous of, you know,
- 30:50Speaker 9: a team that hits on a couple draft picks in
- 30:53Speaker 9: their defense for the last three years, and now all
- 30:55Speaker 9: of a sudden, they've got this young, aggressive team that
- 30:57Speaker 9: they can build around. And you know, I think it's
- 30:59Speaker 9: a it's a positive sign for the Rams. I'm excited
- 31:01Speaker 9: to see those guys out there this weekend. I'm sure
- 31:03Speaker 9: they're gonna make life hard on Drake and the offense.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Yep, yesterday we were talking about toys, and of course
- 31:11Speaker 3: one of Paul shows this morning also started talking about toys.
- 31:14Speaker 3: It's just another example of everybody listening to us. But
- 31:20Speaker 3: somebody said you were trying to think of a toy. Yes,
- 31:22Speaker 3: just thought of it too.
- 31:24Speaker 9: That's exactly just came to me right now, I'm thinking about.
- 31:28Speaker 8: You.
- 31:28Speaker 9: Remember those you both yea heat them up in the
- 31:30Speaker 9: oven and then they condense. You know, this is probably.
- 31:34Speaker 4: No part of the tech world.
- 31:39Speaker 7: We had toys that were very small, like little tiny things, and.
- 31:42Speaker 6: You put it in water and it expand like a sponge.
- 31:45Speaker 9: No, No, these are like you cut things out and
- 31:48Speaker 9: then you bake them and then they get hard like glass.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Right.
- 31:53Speaker 3: I had a toy. I had a toy that, like today,
- 31:59Speaker 3: would not be able to be sold. It would be
- 32:01Speaker 3: just an absolute fire hazard. It's called the Strange Change machine.
- 32:06Speaker 3: And so I've never heard. What it was was a
- 32:08Speaker 3: hot plate, and so you had these little plastic squares
- 32:11Speaker 3: and you put it on the hot plate and they
- 32:13Speaker 3: get really hot and they'd expand and they become like
- 32:16Speaker 3: little dinosaurs or monsters, and then you play with them,
- 32:19Speaker 3: and then you know, you take them out with these
- 32:21Speaker 3: tongs and you put them back on and they get
- 32:23Speaker 3: soft again. And you put it in this metal press
- 32:26Speaker 3: and you crank it and it would turn back into
- 32:28Speaker 3: the into the plastic square.
- 32:30Speaker 9: All day, just going round and around with back, back.
- 32:32Speaker 6: Back and forth like the original three D printer.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was literally a hot plate that like
- 32:38Speaker 3: six year olds are playing with. I mean it was
- 32:41Speaker 3: DC Big Oven nineteen sixty eight, the Strange Change Machine
- 32:46Speaker 3: really nineteen sixty eight. Holy mackerel.
- 32:49Speaker 4: That's why I don't have any memory of it.
- 32:52Speaker 3: That h I love it started dying and they had
- 32:55Speaker 3: to get I had a whole thing set up where
- 32:58Speaker 3: so G I Joe I had this little medieval castle.
- 33:01Speaker 3: G I Joe was invading the castle, and he couldn't
- 33:04Speaker 3: invade the castle because there were just too many of them.
- 33:07Speaker 3: So obviously G I Joe had come back into time
- 33:09Speaker 3: to invade this castle. So he goes back back in
- 33:12Speaker 3: time with the Strange Change Machine and brings the dinosaurs
- 33:16Speaker 3: with him.
- 33:17Speaker 9: This was a whole Frank Kirsche, I love it.
- 33:20Speaker 3: I love it crazy. So like he couldn't bring the
- 33:23Speaker 3: dinosaurs as they were because they were too big to
- 33:26Speaker 3: go into this time machine. So we had to have
- 33:29Speaker 3: this Strange Change machine to make them small to bring
- 33:32Speaker 3: them into the future, but not his future, into medieval future.
- 33:36Speaker 3: And so he and the dinosaurs are now attacking the
- 33:39Speaker 3: castle and they would over.
- 33:40Speaker 4: So this wasn't the game.
- 33:41Speaker 9: This was that's a corporating it into his g I Joe.
- 33:46Speaker 9: That's great.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I love that.
- 33:48Speaker 9: I mean, I'm reminding my own plane g I Joe's
- 33:50Speaker 9: that coming up with scenarios and my hover crack.
- 33:53Speaker 3: So I had to. You know, did you have model
- 33:56Speaker 3: trains when you were little? Yeah, so you had the trains,
- 33:59Speaker 3: but I would incorporate mission impossible, so I'd have the
- 34:02Speaker 3: little guy riding thing and someone would get hit by
- 34:05Speaker 3: the train and the whole thing.
- 34:08Speaker 9: I love it. But I still have my my dad's
- 34:10Speaker 9: trains from when he was a kid in the fifties,
- 34:12Speaker 9: so he like has maintained them. There the giants, which
- 34:15Speaker 9: gig one big, the big one, the big one, Yeah,
- 34:20Speaker 9: exactly exactly, but yeah, it still runs and everything. It's
- 34:24Speaker 9: pretty cool.
- 34:24Speaker 4: What do you think that Alex had a model train.
- 34:27Speaker 6: I had a little brother and I loved his toys.
- 34:30Speaker 7: Like I would play with his hot wheels and his
- 34:32Speaker 7: legos were a big one leg.
- 34:35Speaker 6: The poly pocket stuff.
- 34:36Speaker 7: But like at the end of the day, my sister
- 34:38Speaker 7: and I just wanted to play with my brother's toys.
- 34:41Speaker 7: We would build whole little towns legos and you don't
- 34:45Speaker 7: remember the area carpets that it was like a town
- 34:48Speaker 7: with roads on it. We could sit on that area
- 34:51Speaker 7: rug all day.
- 34:52Speaker 4: The boys. The boys had them downstairs. They both had
- 34:54Speaker 4: their own.
- 34:54Speaker 9: You know what I kind of want for Christmas this year, Paul,
- 34:57Speaker 9: the Orca Lego set. I kind of want it the Orca,
- 35:00Speaker 9: like the Jo and it's a new Lego.
- 35:03Speaker 6: They yeah, you can like customize Legos. We should get
- 35:07Speaker 6: a Lego set.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Of there's a million.
- 35:12Speaker 6: The couch.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Like growing up, we just bought blocks. We didn't necessarily
- 35:17Speaker 4: buy the sets. Would and then no legos Legos and
- 35:20Speaker 4: they did the same, like but they would just you
- 35:23Speaker 4: bought blots and like to Fred's point, like it was imagination,
- 35:27Speaker 4: you decided what you wanted to build. Now everything like
- 35:31Speaker 4: for my kids, it's all about sets. And like, believe me,
- 35:34Speaker 4: we the three of us, my two boys and I
- 35:37Speaker 4: made some unbelievable Lego stuff, you know, and had, like
- 35:40Speaker 4: to Alex's point, a whole town of different Lego sets.
- 35:44Speaker 4: But it's not as fun, it's not as they look awesome.
- 35:48Speaker 3: But well now it's more of it's it's really now
- 35:51Speaker 3: more of a hobby than a toy. Yeah, you know,
- 35:54Speaker 3: when we were kids, it was just a toy.
- 35:56Speaker 4: I absolutely loved Legos. The Foxborough, the old Foxborough Stadium
- 36:01Speaker 4: that I built at an early age. I wish I
- 36:04Speaker 4: had like a picture of. We also built Matthew's Arena, Freddy,
- 36:08Speaker 4: that's pretty cool, Matthews Arena, the Northeastern.
- 36:12Speaker 9: Don't you feel like you would build Legos? You play
- 36:13Speaker 9: with them, they'd slowly evolve over time, they kind of
- 36:16Speaker 9: fall apart and eventually they just they wouldn't. But like nowadays,
- 36:18Speaker 9: I feel like a lot of people like they build
- 36:20Speaker 9: them and then they put them in a case.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Oh no, I don't do that, don't touch it.
- 36:22Speaker 6: Liked and even take them apart.
- 36:26Speaker 4: But you know the big plastic bins, like yeah, I.
- 36:29Speaker 9: Got two of them full, completely full, probably like I
- 36:32Speaker 9: don't know what I'm going to probably like fifteen.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Before Legos, there were Tinker toys.
- 36:37Speaker 4: I remember Tinker toys I didn't like.
- 36:39Speaker 5: I haven't.
- 36:39Speaker 4: I did have Lincoln Logs. They were good.
- 36:42Speaker 9: I'll give them some wood, let the kid play with somebody.
- 36:44Speaker 9: I keep thinking of just that Dan Ackroyd sketch where
- 36:46Speaker 9: he's like, yeah, you know, like all the stupid Halloween
- 36:48Speaker 9: costumes that are dangerous, like.
- 36:49Speaker 4: The Basilmatic five.
- 36:51Speaker 9: It's a bag of broken glass. It's just a bag
- 36:53Speaker 9: of broken that's SNL from the seventies.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Look it up, all right, So we're off the rails.
- 36:58Speaker 3: But this is this is this is a show, yes,
- 37:00Speaker 3: Clayton writes in he says, I've been listening, uh since
- 37:03Speaker 3: two thousand and nine, when I was ten years old,
- 37:05Speaker 3: and have not missed an episode since. I'm sure there
- 37:09Speaker 3: are several listeners who have a more impressive streak, but
- 37:11Speaker 3: I am curious if anyone has me beat or am
- 37:15Speaker 3: I the biggest loser amongst the many thousands of listeners.
- 37:18Speaker 3: So I haven't missed the show since oh nine.
- 37:21Speaker 4: That makes you a winner, Yeah, not a loser.
- 37:23Speaker 3: That's a fifteen years streak.
- 37:24Speaker 4: I would say Chris with the T I A n
- 37:26Speaker 4: has probably got your beat. You know, Belvin Eldred, those guys, Yeah,
- 37:32Speaker 4: they've been around for a long time. I don't write
- 37:34Speaker 4: North Carolina.
- 37:35Speaker 6: You two were a very integral part of his former years.
- 37:38Speaker 6: It sounds like.
- 37:39Speaker 9: Yeah, with you guys like began as young people.
- 37:43Speaker 4: I apologize to all the parents out there, he.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Says, I don't write a calling often, but I was
- 37:47Speaker 3: lucky enough to meet you guys here in Minneapolis for
- 37:50Speaker 3: Super Bowl fifty two and actually won tickets for the
- 37:53Speaker 3: game at your Mall of America. Not done network, So there,
- 37:57Speaker 3: that's great.
- 37:58Speaker 9: That was heard some stories about that.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Not done Network still, Frik would say, not doing.
- 38:04Speaker 3: It again, But I am proud that we did it.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, you never know if you don't try, that's right.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I think it was quite a feat we did off.
- 38:13Speaker 4: I think we did it. I would definitely say that,
- 38:16Speaker 4: but it was hard.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Yep, let's see no callers yet eight five five pats
- 38:23Speaker 3: five hundred, but a lot of emails. Mirror writes in
- 38:27Speaker 3: Matt Nabooth must be slipping because this is my third
- 38:29Speaker 3: email requesting to get the newsletter. What's a girl got
- 38:33Speaker 3: to do? Well, we'll get you in there, Mirror. Also
- 38:36Speaker 3: for the past several weeks the pod right, the podcast
- 38:39Speaker 3: is open with the postgame show intro. It's jarring to
- 38:43Speaker 3: hear the electric guitar when I'm expecting Jill's the world's
- 38:46Speaker 3: original podcast serenade. Lunch is on me. Once you fix
- 38:50Speaker 3: the podcast intro and I get my first put on
- 38:55Speaker 3: the subject of the newsletter. I thought it would be
- 38:57Speaker 3: cool for newer listeners like me to learn about the
- 39:00Speaker 3: source of some of your signature sound drops like not
- 39:02Speaker 3: good Bob or zero point zero percent. Yeah, I mean, Matt,
- 39:07Speaker 3: that's something you could contribute. And then, finally, my football question,
- 39:11Speaker 3: based on what you've seen so far, who do you
- 39:14Speaker 3: think has more potential to develop into a solid number
- 39:17Speaker 3: two receiver? Pop or Booty?
- 39:22Speaker 4: Can? I picked Jalen Polk?
- 39:24Speaker 9: I mean that would be my choice number two. I
- 39:26Speaker 9: guess between those two, I'd have to pick Booty, but
- 39:28Speaker 9: I don't I don't really see it with either of
- 39:30Speaker 9: those guys.
- 39:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I would agree, but I would pick I would
- 39:33Speaker 4: pick Booty.
- 39:34Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 39:34Speaker 4: I think he's He's a valuable piece on a really
- 39:39Speaker 4: good receiving core. I think he can be a situational playmaker.
- 39:44Speaker 9: Well, you see a little bit how the Dolphins are
- 39:46Speaker 9: using Molik Washington a little bit like you know, right, like.
- 39:48Speaker 4: You know, he had the he's the guy had the
- 39:50Speaker 4: end around yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 9: Day right, you know. So it's he's not Wadler Hill,
- 39:53Speaker 9: but he's the complimentary third guy that you know when
- 39:55Speaker 9: everybody's focused on those other two guys. I mean, it's
- 39:57Speaker 9: there's definitely value. I hate talking about it like it
- 40:01Speaker 9: says that Douglas thinks he's a useful piece.
- 40:03Speaker 4: No, no, no, no not, I'm not saying that at all.
- 40:05Speaker 9: He's not. I think he's a useful every down, high volume,
- 40:09Speaker 9: you know, taking big hits, getting downfield. It's just a
- 40:11Speaker 9: lot to ask. The guy was about, you know, five eight,
- 40:13Speaker 9: one eighty or whatever he is at.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Liberty Michael from the Coast rights in. The Patriots have
- 40:19Speaker 3: now won three games before Thanksgiving. Bill didn't do that
- 40:23Speaker 3: last season. The Patriots at least have a chance to
- 40:25Speaker 3: win four games the exact same as Bill. You could
- 40:28Speaker 3: argue this team is less talented, at least defensively, and
- 40:31Speaker 3: we are matching last year's production. The team is also
- 40:34Speaker 3: woefully lacking in talent because of Petty Crocker himself. Can
- 40:38Speaker 3: Bill finally stop talking about us? The line between greatness
- 40:41Speaker 3: and pettiness is getting blurry? I love that email, A
- 40:44Speaker 3: good email.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Who do you think is better? Mac Jones, Bailey, Zappy? What,
- 40:53Speaker 4: Drake May.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 40:59Speaker 9: Probably yeah, Drake Okay, yeah, I'm gonna go with that one.
- 41:05Speaker 4: I mean, what's different from last year to this year?
- 41:13Speaker 4: Kicking the kickers making kicks and the quarterbacks making throws.
- 41:19Speaker 4: That's why you have one more win than you did
- 41:21Speaker 4: at this time last year.
- 41:22Speaker 9: That is good question, though. If you took Joey slides
- 41:25Speaker 9: field goal percentage right now and gave that to Ryland
- 41:27Speaker 9: last year, what would their record have been. That's a
- 41:29Speaker 9: project for somebody out there.
- 41:30Speaker 4: Well, I would just say, like, just just go by
- 41:33Speaker 4: the game on Sunday, right, Joey Slide went four for
- 41:37Speaker 4: four and what people that were there describing as a
- 41:41Speaker 4: pretty windy, unpredictable day, There's a chance that Chad Ryland
- 41:46Speaker 4: would have gone one for four in those conditions. And
- 41:49Speaker 4: if that happened, then you're in a ten to three
- 41:51Speaker 4: game and anything can happen. That sounds like last year,
- 41:53Speaker 4: you know, or you could lose ten to seven or
- 41:55Speaker 4: ten six or six nothing because you can't make a
- 41:58Speaker 4: field goal, right right.
- 42:01Speaker 9: That's it. Twenty twenty three, In a nut show.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Kamal writes in what do you guys think Alex Austin
- 42:08Speaker 3: can do to help.
- 42:09Speaker 9: The team maybe be better than Marco Wilson's been. I mean,
- 42:14Speaker 9: I'm kind of serious about that, Like I don't I.
- 42:16Speaker 4: Haven't really seen anything from either one of those guys.
- 42:18Speaker 4: I agree with Mike about Marco Wilson. I think he has.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Strugged nothing else to give them depth.
- 42:22Speaker 9: You know, Yeah, I mean he was you know, I
- 42:24Speaker 9: think there was some positive vibes about him last year,
- 42:26Speaker 9: but then he was locked in.
- 42:27Speaker 4: I agree. Late last year. I thought there were a
- 42:29Speaker 4: couple of games, the Buffalo game at Buffalo is one.
- 42:32Speaker 4: I thought he made some place. Yeah, I think so,
- 42:34Speaker 4: But I thought that was there was some good coverage
- 42:37Speaker 4: plays for him. I haven't. I did not think he
- 42:40Speaker 4: had a good spring or summer.
- 42:42Speaker 9: It's been locked in a life and death battle with
- 42:43Speaker 9: Marco Wilson.
- 42:45Speaker 4: And since he's been on the field, I don't think
- 42:47Speaker 4: he's been very good. Now he's still he's practicing, but
- 42:50Speaker 4: he has not been activated off of I r correct
- 42:53Speaker 4: right with Christian. With you guys on these Ruster things.
- 42:57Speaker 3: With Christian Barmer coming back, do you think he can
- 43:00Speaker 3: help guys like Jeremiah Farms and Jacquelin.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Roy Raw Roy Wah Jacquelin.
- 43:06Speaker 9: Jacquelin Jaquelin Roy actually was funny.
- 43:08Speaker 4: I can't cover the team if you don't know how
- 43:10Speaker 4: to pronounce the man.
- 43:11Speaker 9: When I was waiting to talk to Farmers, Roy came
- 43:12Speaker 9: out to me. He's like, this is the guy who
- 43:14Speaker 9: you should be talking right now. I'm like, I know
- 43:15Speaker 9: the guy. I'm sitting here waiting to talk to.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Farm said, I think I think Jacquela Roy is also
- 43:26Speaker 4: played well by the way.
- 43:27Speaker 9: Yeah, maybe I'll talk to you next week.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Maybe obviously he can help them, you know, of course. Yeah,
- 43:33Speaker 3: I mean just being on the field, when he's on
- 43:35Speaker 3: the field, you know, will attract attention to him.
- 43:39Speaker 4: Well, I wonder what they're what they plan for him,
- 43:42Speaker 4: Like you're not going to know that right away, but ideally,
- 43:45Speaker 4: do you think that they want to keep him in
- 43:46Speaker 4: a third down role? Do you want to play him
- 43:48Speaker 4: every down? Do you want to have Keon White in
- 43:52Speaker 4: a third down role? Or you know, like I think
- 43:55Speaker 4: there's different different ways they can go about this, because
- 43:59Speaker 4: Godshaw's going to be out there on first down. Yeah,
- 44:02Speaker 4: I mean, I does Keon White become Dietrich wise?
- 44:05Speaker 5: Right?
- 44:06Speaker 9: I just I wouldn't try to push it. My My
- 44:08Speaker 9: my feeling initially is just getting him back for a
- 44:11Speaker 9: few games.
- 44:12Speaker 4: I'm just talking. I'm talking if he's just down the road.
- 44:14Speaker 9: Right now, like in these last seven games, like just
- 44:16Speaker 9: having him get over this get a few games under
- 44:19Speaker 9: his belt. It wasn't a completely lost season. That to
- 44:22Speaker 9: me is valuable. I would I would guess that just
- 44:24Speaker 9: go get the passer or you know, maybe the first game.
- 44:26Speaker 9: But he's still got to like a window and he's
- 44:28Speaker 9: got a practice and everything right like this, it's there's
- 44:30Speaker 9: not a chance that he's going to be available.
- 44:32Speaker 6: You can't imagine.
- 44:33Speaker 7: I mean, I don't know how much he's been focusing
- 44:35Speaker 7: on conditioning. He's obviously been in the building pretty much
- 44:38Speaker 7: this whole time, but I think his conditioning is the
- 44:40Speaker 7: most important part, not just for ramping him up up
- 44:43Speaker 7: to speed in the defensive rooms and meetings, but just
- 44:47Speaker 7: like for his own health.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know, sticking on the defensive line. Kamel
- 44:52Speaker 3: also asked what type of stats does Unique Dockway have
- 44:57Speaker 3: to have for you to resign him in the office? Good?
- 45:00Speaker 4: You know that was good pronunciation.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Many.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Yeah, if he comes in and fits in, I'd be
- 45:06Speaker 4: willing to talk to him about resigning.
- 45:08Speaker 9: He's bounced around a lot. Imagined that if.
- 45:10Speaker 4: I guess he's going to be on another team next year,
- 45:12Speaker 4: because that's just the way his career's gone.
- 45:14Speaker 9: Yeah, that's where that's where he's at, but you don't
- 45:17Speaker 9: give him a with a If Wise is out, I'm
- 45:19Speaker 9: interested to see. I mean they might you know, might
- 45:21Speaker 9: be an opportunity for him to get him playing time,
- 45:23Speaker 9: and then he was getting.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Him all of a sudden, all of a sudden, it's
- 45:26Speaker 3: covering you know, our front. It might be all.
- 45:29Speaker 9: Beefed up, right, you know, I like that for sure in.
- 45:33Speaker 6: The locker room today.
- 45:34Speaker 4: No, No, who would you rather have on an every
- 45:38Speaker 4: down basis Wise or in Gotway?
- 45:42Speaker 3: Who would I rather have on defense.
- 45:43Speaker 4: On an every down basis? Like if it's if it's
- 45:47Speaker 4: if it's in Gotway every day of the week or
- 45:49Speaker 4: twice on Sunday.
- 45:50Speaker 9: It's a hard question because I don't know. I've kind
- 45:53Speaker 9: of seen what Tetrick Wise is and I know it
- 45:55Speaker 9: and I appreciate what he's fine, what he's fine at
- 45:58Speaker 9: and Goway could potentially be worse. But I haven't seen him,
- 46:03Speaker 9: so I don't really have a like a feeling on him.
- 46:05Speaker 9: So it's hard to say, like, oh, I'd rather have
- 46:06Speaker 9: him Gotway, and Likeway is a better player, yeah, oh more,
- 46:10Speaker 9: probably more better career. You know, Tetrick Wise, I would say,
- 46:13Speaker 9: if you were just to throw and got away out
- 46:15Speaker 9: there right out of the gate, Like I would anticipate
- 46:17Speaker 9: he's gonna have some adjustment period getting used to this defense.
- 46:20Speaker 9: I would assume this defense is different than what he's
- 46:22Speaker 9: been asked to do. You know, really it seems like
- 46:24Speaker 9: he's more of just upfield defensive end pass rush kind
- 46:27Speaker 9: of guy, not totally what they asked him to do here.
- 46:30Speaker 9: So I don't know, there might be some some growing
- 46:32Speaker 9: pains with him as he gets assimilated.
- 46:34Speaker 4: But if he comes in and you know, he gets
- 46:36Speaker 4: like five sacks down the stretch, I'd be interested in
- 46:38Speaker 4: re signing him.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Well, who said it today, I don't know if it
- 46:40Speaker 3: was Covington or but they said, feels like he's been
- 46:43Speaker 3: here since training camp.
- 46:44Speaker 4: Yeah, they were all saying it.
- 46:46Speaker 9: Well, it's like I told you yesterday when he talked,
- 46:48Speaker 9: it was just like, no nonsense. He's here. You know,
- 46:50Speaker 9: he gets the deal, he knows how this league works,
- 46:52Speaker 9: and you know, he's not expecting anything. But he's here
- 46:55Speaker 9: to bring leadership, which I liked he highlighted, and you know,
- 46:58Speaker 9: it sounded like he was really locked in in practice.
- 47:00Speaker 9: So I don't know, maybe it's gonna bring.
- 47:01Speaker 4: Drew Wilkins talked about him a little bit and is
- 47:03Speaker 4: it Keith Jones. Yes, it's one of the younger coaches.
- 47:07Speaker 4: He really Drew Wilkins really credited him with that. That
- 47:12Speaker 4: speaks a lot to Keith Jones with how well and
- 47:14Speaker 4: how quickly and Gotway has gotten up to speed.
- 47:17Speaker 9: Now did Wilkins? I think Wilkins was with him in
- 47:20Speaker 9: Baltimore maybe in twenty twenty. I don't know if they
- 47:23Speaker 9: Maybe he missed that. I don't know. I was guessing
- 47:24Speaker 9: somebody out.
- 47:25Speaker 4: But I didn't. I mean I was. I just walked
- 47:27Speaker 4: in and out of a bunch of rooms and I
- 47:29Speaker 4: heard that one from Drew Wilkins. I don't know. So
- 47:33Speaker 4: this is the second time around for Baltimore for him.
- 47:35Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think I think he was. I
- 47:37Speaker 9: think he was there with twenty twenty and Wilcolms was
- 47:40Speaker 9: there too, So I don't know. I'll tell check that video.
- 47:42Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I like in Gackway as a player
- 47:44Speaker 4: I always have. I'm not necessarily sure why the Patriots
- 47:48Speaker 4: decided to claim him now, but the player I've always
- 47:52Speaker 4: kind of liked. I don't know what he has left
- 47:54Speaker 4: because he hasn't really been overly productive recently, but maybe
- 47:57Speaker 4: he can.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Get that, you know, that rejuvenation that sometimes players get
- 48:02Speaker 3: when they get a new environment. So we'll see, Yeah,
- 48:06Speaker 3: Mike and Ontario Wright saying first time email, longtime listener.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Got to keep it short because he got picks. Got Jesus.
- 48:13Speaker 3: As the team has just passed the halfway point in
- 48:15Speaker 3: the season, who are some of the players on the
- 48:17Speaker 3: roster you think are underrated and could be key pieces
- 48:20Speaker 3: in the future as well? Who do you hope to
- 48:23Speaker 3: see emerge as a key piece to in the second
- 48:25Speaker 3: half of the season. I mean, everybody on this team.
- 48:29Speaker 3: It's a great question. I know.
- 48:30Speaker 9: That's like where my head goes to right away. I
- 48:33Speaker 9: wish I could say one of the offensive linemen, like
- 48:35Speaker 9: you know, is Trey Jacobs, Like he's going to be great,
- 48:38Speaker 9: it's just a right tackle. Like maybe I can't tell
- 48:40Speaker 9: you for sure I feel that way, but it would
- 48:42Speaker 9: be great if one of those offensive linemen did emerge
- 48:44Speaker 9: and became one of those pieces. That's probably the first
- 48:46Speaker 9: place I'd look. But I can't tell you I feel
- 48:48Speaker 9: that he is underrated.
- 48:50Speaker 4: I can't tell you that anybody on this team is underrated,
- 48:53Speaker 4: not because they're not good, but because like who gets
- 48:58Speaker 4: who doesn't get their proper due around here? Like seriously
- 49:01Speaker 4: with this in this media market, who doesn't get credit
- 49:05Speaker 4: for anything that they've done? Can you think of anybody
- 49:09Speaker 4: I was gonna say, who's done really really well and
- 49:12Speaker 4: no one talks about it.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Well, if you put it that way, I mean.
- 49:17Speaker 4: Well that would be underrated. That means you're not really
- 49:20Speaker 4: getting credit for something that you do really well, Like
- 49:22Speaker 4: Jeremiah Farms had a great game the other day. No,
- 49:24Speaker 4: I know it's not been overlooked.
- 49:26Speaker 3: No, it hasn't.
- 49:27Speaker 6: But but you know what you're positivity?
- 49:30Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, I hear what you're saying. But to me,
- 49:32Speaker 3: that's a little different. Like take talking about the game
- 49:35Speaker 3: and who did well is a little different than hey,
- 49:39Speaker 3: this guy's a better player than we thought he.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Was, like name more one of those No, Like I
- 49:44Speaker 4: think Jeremiah Farms is not a better player than than
- 49:46Speaker 4: you think he is. People are giving him all kinds
- 49:48Speaker 4: of credit for what he's doing.
- 49:50Speaker 3: But what I'm saying is could he be could he
- 49:52Speaker 3: be better than we thought he was now that he's
- 49:55Speaker 3: getting this, I.
- 49:56Speaker 4: Guess it's just a semantic argument.
- 49:58Speaker 9: And usually like he played last week, and.
- 50:01Speaker 4: I don't think that would be underrated. I just think
- 50:04Speaker 4: he's rated. Like do you think he can be like
- 50:08Speaker 4: a Pro Bowl or that would make him underrated? But
- 50:10Speaker 4: like because I don't think that, But.
- 50:12Speaker 3: I think the spirit of it is, like, who are
- 50:14Speaker 3: some guys that could emerge that you know weren't really
- 50:16Speaker 3: on the radar that you know are but emerge as
- 50:20Speaker 3: what as as he said, someone that will help you
- 50:24Speaker 3: for the rest of the season and someone who might
- 50:26Speaker 3: help you in the future.
- 50:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd be hard pressed to find one. Okay, So
- 50:30Speaker 4: your answer is not because I think like Barmore is
- 50:32Speaker 4: going to come back and Jeremiah farm is going to
- 50:34Speaker 4: go to the bench.
- 50:35Speaker 9: Yeah in a perfect world, right generally?
- 50:39Speaker 4: Yeah, And then that's no disrespect to Jeremiah Farms, And
- 50:42Speaker 4: I think he deserves all the accolades that he's got
- 50:46Speaker 4: this week. He's played really well.
- 50:48Speaker 3: What about Dale Pettis.
- 50:51Speaker 4: Couldn't he be again who he was? Who's overlooking him now?
- 50:54Speaker 12: Well?
- 50:55Speaker 3: I think, like what do we overlook?
- 50:56Speaker 4: What is it? Is he a starting player? That would
- 51:00Speaker 4: be that would mean me he's underrated. I don't think
- 51:02Speaker 4: he's a starting.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Could he be part of the safety room next year
- 51:06Speaker 3: and going forward.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Part of the safety room. Yeah, yes, he's a part
- 51:10Speaker 4: of the safety room now.
- 51:11Speaker 3: No, I know, but like now they're kind of rebuilding.
- 51:14Speaker 3: We don't now we're looking at who are who on
- 51:16Speaker 3: this team is going to be part of the team
- 51:18Speaker 3: next year, the guys on that contract. I don't think
- 51:21Speaker 3: when the season started, Dale Pettis was on that list.
- 51:24Speaker 4: When the sea'sn't started or when camp started. When the
- 51:27Speaker 4: season started, I would have said, yes, they've decided he's
- 51:29Speaker 4: better than Joshua Bledsoe. They made that swat and I
- 51:32Speaker 4: would say they're going to go with him for a
- 51:33Speaker 4: couple of years like they did with I would.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Have said that. I would have Yeah, I wouldn't have
- 51:38Speaker 3: said that even at the start of the season, like
- 51:40Speaker 3: he was there because out of necessity.
- 51:42Speaker 4: No, they chose him over someone that was here before.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Yeah, because the other guy wasn't that good.
- 51:47Speaker 4: Correct, Ye. So, and we'll see in two years how
- 51:50Speaker 4: they feel about Dell Pettis.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Right, But well, I think if in two years, del
- 51:55Speaker 3: Pettis is still on the team, he was underrated.
- 52:00Speaker 4: If he's if he's playing special teams and backing up,
- 52:03Speaker 4: is the fitth safety, he's not underrated. If he's like
- 52:06Speaker 4: a starter and you know, in making regular contributions, then
- 52:10Speaker 4: that would make him underrated, because I don't think people
- 52:12Speaker 4: view him that way, right, Well, so you're extrapolating what
- 52:16Speaker 4: someone might be.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I'm talking for more than a few
- 52:21Speaker 3: Patriots fans who are like, wow, we didn't think Dale Pettis.
- 52:23Speaker 4: Would doubt be taking the down if you if you
- 52:25Speaker 4: if he's so underrated, you should learn, maybe he is underrated.
- 52:28Speaker 4: You can't sell. And we would talk yesterday that if
- 52:30Speaker 4: you don't know the guy's names, you shouldn't be able
- 52:32Speaker 4: to talk about the team. Who said that one of
- 52:33Speaker 4: the callers.
- 52:34Speaker 3: That's fair, fair enough, I kind of agree with that.
- 52:37Speaker 3: You should at least know their names.
- 52:39Speaker 4: You know of you know how apparently you know how
- 52:41Speaker 4: to pronounce their name.
- 52:42Speaker 3: I barely know your people.
- 52:43Speaker 4: I mean, we we screwed up because we were calling
- 52:45Speaker 4: him yanick inway instead of unique. Although I know it
- 52:52Speaker 4: is well that's what it was when he was in Jacksonville.
- 52:56Speaker 3: I don't know, we're the only ones that know his
- 52:58Speaker 3: name is booty. Everybody else who does it?
- 53:01Speaker 6: Yeah, why are people trying to complicate it?
- 53:03Speaker 3: But I think I think they can't. They're like, it
- 53:05Speaker 3: can't be heard. It's got to be Booty, you know.
- 53:10Speaker 7: Has been getting some crazy pronunciations since you left the
- 53:12Speaker 7: Patriots too.
- 53:13Speaker 6: I don't know if you guys kind of you don't.
- 53:18Speaker 6: They're just adding like a little genis.
- 53:20Speaker 4: Adding, Yeah, No, I know what your point is bred
- 53:28Speaker 4: about the underrated. But I just feel like, is there
- 53:31Speaker 4: someone on this team like that that you can envision
- 53:35Speaker 4: being like a huge piece of the puzzle.
- 53:38Speaker 9: I mean, the only place I really can go right
- 53:40Speaker 9: now is at the right tackle spot. If Trade Jacobs
- 53:42Speaker 9: is a legitimate right tackle, you know, if that's a
- 53:45Speaker 9: position that they're going to say, you know what, this
- 53:46Speaker 9: kid can play. We're gonna keep them here, We're gonna
- 53:48Speaker 9: keep working with them. We like them, I mean, and
- 53:50Speaker 9: that way he can be underrated because it's a process
- 53:53Speaker 9: with some of these guys. So I'm not telling you that.
- 53:55Speaker 4: I would I think that would be one.
- 53:56Speaker 3: Would you be shocked if Ben Brown is the starting
- 53:59Speaker 3: center for two thousand and five?
- 54:00Speaker 9: Yes, I know what jan I would be, but I
- 54:04Speaker 9: think he'll be back. I just I wonder how they
- 54:07Speaker 9: how they attack it, because I'm not sure what Andrew's
- 54:09Speaker 9: status is I think he last is he said, like,
- 54:12Speaker 9: I got to figure it out and reevaluate at the
- 54:13Speaker 9: end of the season see where I'm at. But you know,
- 54:15Speaker 9: do you come back and do you feel like you
- 54:17Speaker 9: need to draft a center of the future because Andrews
- 54:20Speaker 9: might be winding down, or do you feel like, all right,
- 54:22Speaker 9: we think we can get one more year out of
- 54:23Speaker 9: Andrews and then Brown would be good as just the
- 54:24Speaker 9: back up to Andrews.
- 54:26Speaker 4: What do you figure out in the last month of
- 54:27Speaker 4: the season, if Cole Strange can play center like they've
- 54:30Speaker 4: talked about, like I if he's starting out of like
- 54:35Speaker 4: Elliott Wolf didn't sign anybody again that that's not that
- 54:39Speaker 4: doesn't make him underrated. If he's starting because David Andrews
- 54:42Speaker 4: came back and he beat him out and Cole Strange
- 54:44Speaker 4: tried to make the thing and Ben Brown was better,
- 54:46Speaker 4: and like, then he's underrated.
- 54:49Speaker 9: I mean, I'd say just generally, I'd like to have
- 54:50Speaker 9: him back, though I mean it's I mean, for what
- 54:52Speaker 9: the job he's done, it's been pretty pretty steady. I
- 54:54Speaker 9: mean I know that they've you know, struggled in the
- 54:56Speaker 9: run game too, but you get you find someone like
- 54:58Speaker 9: that you want to keep working with him. I think
- 54:59Speaker 9: he's got good size. I think that's what impresses me
- 55:01Speaker 9: about him. He's just the big big I just think.
- 55:03Speaker 4: They need better. They need better than those guys. Now.
- 55:06Speaker 4: I love Mike's example of Trey Jacobs. If he like
- 55:10Speaker 4: turns into a serviceable, starting offensive lineman, then he's underrated. Right.
- 55:15Speaker 9: That's in line with he's underrated right yesterday fret where
- 55:18Speaker 9: you know, like we found a guy. He's gonna be fine,
- 55:20Speaker 9: don't worry about it, right like that?
- 55:21Speaker 4: Yeah, usual, If that's what he is, then he's underrated
- 55:24Speaker 4: because I don't think people think of him that way. Well,
- 55:27Speaker 4: people outside.
- 55:28Speaker 9: Of here, Oh yeah, well, I mean a lot around here.
- 55:30Speaker 4: They just got to keep these five together and then
- 55:32Speaker 4: we're gonna be all set.
- 55:33Speaker 3: Well, And that's I.
- 55:33Speaker 9: Mean, that goes to how many guys do you feel
- 55:35Speaker 9: like are stopgaps right now? Guys that just like we've
- 55:37Speaker 9: got to improve.
- 55:38Speaker 4: This plays to Freddy's point. If any of those three
- 55:42Speaker 4: guys that I consider stop gaps right now turn out
- 55:45Speaker 4: to be long term answers, like legitimate answers, not necessity
- 55:48Speaker 4: starter answers, then they're underrated. Fred's right.
- 55:51Speaker 9: Can you think of any examples in Patriots history of
- 55:54Speaker 9: stop gaps who actually took advantage of being that stop
- 55:57Speaker 9: gap and emerged to actually have a full time any position. Yeah,
- 56:04Speaker 9: I mean, I might be some, but I just I mean,
- 56:06Speaker 9: I don't know if I think this might be outside
- 56:07Speaker 9: of it. But like I think a little bit of Ninkovic.
- 56:09Speaker 4: I was gonna say, Rob Nikovitch is the first thing
- 56:11Speaker 4: that comes to mind.
- 56:12Speaker 3: It's a good one. Yeah, because no one really you know,
- 56:15Speaker 3: he was like, okay, they signed, He's gonna play defensive end.
- 56:17Speaker 4: And van Ney was a little like that. Ye who
- 56:21Speaker 4: was the guy? Oh God, I'm not gonna be able
- 56:23Speaker 4: to remember his name. It was a lot outside kind
- 56:26Speaker 4: of guy from that. I think he played at Tennessee
- 56:30Speaker 4: and then we got him in for a short period
- 56:32Speaker 4: of time. He really plugged in and did pretty well.
- 56:34Speaker 4: And I can't think of his name. No, No, the Titans,
- 56:40Speaker 4: Oh so.
- 56:42Speaker 9: Linebacker from Tennessee. What time frame around like.
- 56:46Speaker 4: That time like sometime between like ten and fifteen ish,
- 56:50Speaker 4: some time they.
- 56:51Speaker 9: Have a bunch of sacks.
- 56:52Speaker 3: He come in and have a bunch of sacks.
- 56:54Speaker 4: I'll figure out, okay, I'll figure Chris my nuts.
- 56:58Speaker 3: Rights in Christian rights in I'm a way bigger loser.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Right again, as usually, Paulie is right. I've not missed
- 57:04Speaker 3: a show since I started listening since seven. I needed
- 57:08Speaker 3: an outlet besides EEI. After the Patriots lost to the
- 57:11Speaker 3: Colts in the six AFC Championship game, I logged down
- 57:14Speaker 3: to Patriots dot com at lunch on the following Wednesday
- 57:17Speaker 3: and found PFW in progress. It was love at the
- 57:20Speaker 3: first Paul and Fred argument at that time, it was
- 57:23Speaker 3: Andy too right, a lot of argument.
- 57:26Speaker 4: I think Gandy used to argue with you more than.
- 57:28Speaker 9: My dad chimes in any that's true. My dad chimes
- 57:30Speaker 9: in via text. Troy Brown, Troy, wou that qualify as A's.
- 57:36Speaker 4: The dumbest thing I ever heard.
- 57:39Speaker 9: You don't want to fight, Eddie d Troy Brown.
- 57:41Speaker 4: Troy Brown was an eighth round draft pick. Drew immediately
- 57:45Speaker 4: fell in love with him that year and kind of
- 57:49Speaker 4: got cut a couple of times to come back special teamer,
- 57:51Speaker 4: and all of a sudden he's catching a hundred passes
- 57:53Speaker 4: from Brady Crazy.
- 57:54Speaker 9: Yeah, thanks Dad.
- 57:58Speaker 3: I was we're talking about clothes yesterday and I was
- 58:00Speaker 3: all over Paul. But you know you, I need to
- 58:02Speaker 3: talk to today and I figured out what your issue is.
- 58:06Speaker 3: I think since the day you were a kid, between
- 58:10Speaker 3: you know, playing at Holy Cross in sports and your
- 58:13Speaker 3: father working at Rebound, I don't think you've ever had
- 58:16Speaker 3: any of the clothes that weren't just given to you.
- 58:18Speaker 9: That's a great no, that Fred, I've never.
- 58:20Speaker 3: Had What am I going to wear today? It's just like.
- 58:24Speaker 4: Bull, he's a bully.
- 58:26Speaker 9: Well, no, you're no, You're in the right area for sure. Well,
- 58:29Speaker 9: I say, the first thing I'll say is that I
- 58:31Speaker 9: always now I appreciate as a parent where I'm like
- 58:34Speaker 9: my dad used to come home with like, hey, who
- 58:36Speaker 9: wants shoes and warm ups? But like I couldn't wear
- 58:38Speaker 9: about it? No, But I know because I couldn't wear
- 58:40Speaker 9: like Rebok warm ups to school in high school. Like
- 58:43Speaker 9: I wasn't like you know that that guy so certainly
- 58:45Speaker 9: with shoes, no question. Like I didn't have to buy
- 58:47Speaker 9: shoes until I was probably that twenty five years old.
- 58:49Speaker 9: Rock You're right, rock Port, I mean Rebok. Sure my
- 58:52Speaker 9: dad's going crazy listeners right now, but no, no question.
- 58:55Speaker 9: I mean it's such a pain of the ask blind
- 58:56Speaker 9: kids shoes all the time, and he would just be
- 58:58Speaker 9: like you know, so I had the pumps like before
- 58:59Speaker 9: anybody all the basketball team hated me. You're totally right
- 59:02Speaker 9: on shoes, but clothes, it wasn't There wasn't as much
- 59:04Speaker 9: apparel for rebox, like you know my mom certainly though
- 59:07Speaker 9: my mom, Like my mom was in rebock the wind
- 59:09Speaker 9: suit like that eighties that you know, the whole eighties.
- 59:12Speaker 9: That's like while she wore so but you know, like
- 59:15Speaker 9: my hockey teams, we always get like the worm ups,
- 59:17Speaker 9: the windbreakers, and I got to get away.
- 59:20Speaker 6: That was before people lived in that leisure too.
- 59:23Speaker 9: Right, I know. And now I couldn't go to school
- 59:25Speaker 9: like a rebod warm on you. But I still got
- 59:26Speaker 9: the still got the rebox.
- 59:28Speaker 3: And you can see him down there the keen airs.
- 59:31Speaker 9: That's a good one.
- 59:31Speaker 4: Okay, that was the guy I was thinking all right too.
- 59:34Speaker 9: He played a little bit in twenty fourteen.
- 59:36Speaker 3: Is that.
- 59:38Speaker 4: He's a machine for the second Nasty One. He's a
- 59:42Speaker 4: machine in the second NaSTA.
- 59:43Speaker 9: That's right. Didn't come on as detail files.
- 59:46Speaker 4: Well yeah, and he probably didn't play long enough. But
- 59:49Speaker 4: he's just a guy that I remember, like kind of
- 59:51Speaker 4: thought he was a jaggy kind of guy. But they
- 59:53Speaker 4: found a way to make some plays for them.
- 59:54Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, let's get to the TPX outline. We'll
- 59:58Speaker 3: start with Kendall in North Carolina. What's up, Kendall?
- 1:00:02Speaker 10: Hey, how you guys doing good?
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: Kendall?
- 1:00:05Speaker 10: The question is for Paul, but any of you guys,
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: y'all can y'all can answer it too well? I want
- 1:00:11Speaker 10: to ask dot Drake made it innocesse and he threw
- 1:00:13Speaker 10: against the Bears. He said multiptis this week that he
- 1:00:16Speaker 10: was trying to throw it away or whatnot? Did you
- 1:00:19Speaker 10: guys and yeah, do you guys think he was trying
- 1:00:21Speaker 10: to throw it away or did he just forced it in?
- 1:00:22Speaker 10: My second part to it is that if you think,
- 1:00:25Speaker 10: do you think there's something that the team and the
- 1:00:27Speaker 10: coaches to coach him out of it.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: It's interesting that you brought that up, Kendall, because today
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: AVB said that's gonna haunt him the rest of the season.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: I think it was a little white lie by Drake.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: I think he was actually trying to make a play.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: He said after the game that he was trying to
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: throw it away, but today a VP kind of backed
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: up that he needs to throw that away.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: So I don't know.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: Maybe it was in between Maybe in his head he
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: was saying throw it away, but I think he was
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: trying to make a play.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Yeah, he said he felt like he short armed it. Yeah,
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: he was trying to throw it away and you just
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: well didn't throw it right.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: I definitely detected that, and I wrote that at the
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: time that he did have a hitch in that, and
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: like I wrote that, boy he knew the minute he
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: threw that he shouldn't have.
- 1:01:14Speaker 9: Yeah, So I think so too. It reminds me as
- 1:01:18Speaker 9: a defenseman who made many ill advised breakout passes up
- 1:01:21Speaker 9: the middle and they were intercepted, and then we're like,
- 1:01:24Speaker 9: I know that feeling.
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: I know that, like just get it through, you know, Yeah,
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: just don't hit it right there. Just don't handle that
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: one time? Could you just not handle it right.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Aaron Is.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: I do think that's something they will help him help
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: him with. Though, to answer the second part of that
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: question that Kendall had.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: I don't I like what they said that the guy
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: with the tube is always open.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a good line for the whole Like,
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: you know, it's something he'll think about the rest of
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: the year. I hope not. I hope not. I hope
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: he's able to learn from it and put it behind him.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: But I hope he doesn't an interception in a win.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: Bro let it go well any even if it was
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: like an interception that cost him the game. I don't
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: want you like I don't want to get paralyzed by
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: your bad play.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: Aaron's in Connecticut, Hey Aaron, Aaron, Aaron.
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: He Aron.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Travis is in Baltimore. Hey Travis, Hey, how you're doing good?
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: Hey Pail.
- 1:02:28Speaker 13: I wasn't a call in to mention a Key Marors,
- 1:02:30Speaker 13: but obviously someone else got to you first, So sorry
- 1:02:32Speaker 13: that was still in the gun there. But one thing
- 1:02:35Speaker 13: I wanted to follow up on or to see what
- 1:02:37Speaker 13: you guys thought about, was when and if Barmore does
- 1:02:41Speaker 13: return to the field. Do you think that helps keyon
- 1:02:43Speaker 13: White lie to a more natural position instead of playing
- 1:02:47Speaker 13: on the edge and you know he's getting pressure, but
- 1:02:49Speaker 13: maybe he's better on the interior, and maybe with Angkway coming,
- 1:02:53Speaker 13: he can help fill on the edge and the pass
- 1:02:55Speaker 13: rush to do a little bit more conventional stuff rather
- 1:02:58Speaker 13: than try to send bread in school or at the
- 1:03:00Speaker 13: quarterback a couple of times the game.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Well, listen, I think I think, I think you do
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: it both I think I think you you know, if
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: and when Barber comes back, you move both of those
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: guys around White and Barber. You know, that's how they
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: played Barmore before. Continue doing that and yeah, every once
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: in a while bringing schooler and have him rush, you know,
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: like why why stop doing things that work like add
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: to the repertoire, you know.
- 1:03:28Speaker 9: Yeah, I agree. I mean, I don't think it's going
- 1:03:29Speaker 9: to affect Keon White all that much. I mean, it
- 1:03:31Speaker 9: might take a little bit of Travis attention away from
- 1:03:34Speaker 9: him in terms of blocking, and might you know, get
- 1:03:35Speaker 9: more favorable mashups with him. But I think he on
- 1:03:38Speaker 9: White shown that that he can be a piece that
- 1:03:39Speaker 9: moves around and Barmore is gonna do what he does
- 1:03:41Speaker 9: and you know, being inside and being disruptive player. But
- 1:03:45Speaker 9: I don't, I don't see it affecting I mean, it's
- 1:03:46Speaker 9: just I don't know what pressure off.
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: Of it, and I don't know what White's natural position is.
- 1:03:50Speaker 9: I don't either.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: I mean that's not I mean.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I think he's been a valuable player for them
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: this year. I think he's had a good year, But
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: I'm not sure if if the Dietrich Wise spot that's
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: personally what I think is the best spot for him.
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: But I'm not sure if that is or if it's
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: more of a traditional sort of.
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: I just think what he's best at is rushing guards. Yeah,
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: I know that that's you know, rushing from inside is
- 1:04:12Speaker 9: where he's at his best. I mean, he said to
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: himself he doesn't think there's a guard in the leader
- 1:04:14Speaker 9: that can block him. I kind of agree with him.
- 1:04:16Speaker 9: I mean, he's been a nightmare all year for guards inside.
- 1:04:19Speaker 9: It's just when you get him in space a little bit,
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: he's you know, it's just stiff. He's a little stiff.
- 1:04:23Speaker 9: He's not the loosest, most limb kind of athlete on
- 1:04:26Speaker 9: the edge that you need for stop and start and
- 1:04:28Speaker 9: you know, getting around tackles and stuff. But I do
- 1:04:30Speaker 9: think he's shown some improvement. Like I remember earlier in
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: the summer, I felt like he just had one move
- 1:04:35Speaker 9: which was run right into the tackle and try to
- 1:04:37Speaker 9: power him over.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: I thought he was really quiet for the better part
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: of say October. But the last game against Chicago, I
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: thought he looked like he did in the early games
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: that we saw when he was really active, not necessarily
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: jump you know, I know he had the four sacks
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: in the first two games, but I don't you know,
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: the sacks aren't the thing necessarily that stood out. It
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: was the constant presence that he had, and I thought
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: I saw some of that against Chicago.
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: A bit of context stats though, as I think on
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: next gen stats, Kim White has thirty nine quarterback pressures
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: in the second places Dietrich Wise with nineteen. So it's
- 1:05:13Speaker 9: a big fall off from what key On White's doing
- 1:05:16Speaker 9: as far as pressure and the rest of the defense.
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: Good.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: Let's see a lot of emails. A lot of people
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: them the newsletter, Devin writes in thanks for what you
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: do in the hundreds of hours you've given me through
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: the first six years of parenting, from early morning feedings
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: to tantrum filled all nighters, you guys provided the escape
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: and believe it or not, he's talking about our tantrums,
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: by the way, you believe it or not, the sanity.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: I've got a question and I'm not sure you can answer.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Maybe it's more for the listeners in their podcast life balance,
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: have you added up the hours spent weekly listening to
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: our shows? PU six hours, catch twenty two two and
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: a half? Did they do two and a half a week.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: They're only supposed to do two Patriots post Game one
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: and a half. Well, that's supposed to be two around
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: the NFL five and a half? What's around the NFL?
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: H that's somebody else's podcast, but now split into two shows,
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: so double that. Oof. It reminds me of back in
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: college when I once tried to add up all the
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: drinks I had in a week, counted for two days,
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: and then scared myself into not count anymore. Anyway, you
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: guys listen to podcasts? No, your family give you a
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: hard time about having earbuds in at the park too. Uh.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: Love what you guys do and appreciate the banters. Devin
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: from Essex, Connecticut.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: Thanks Devin, Thanks Devin.
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: Nice.
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: Do you guys listen to a lot of podcasts?
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: What do you listen to, Alex, You've been quiet for
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: a while.
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: I listened to a mix of sports. I really like
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: business podcasts. I like hearing from like CEOs and founders
- 1:06:53Speaker 7: and learning about how they build their businesses and stuff.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: I have a couple of girly podcasts that are more.
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: Like like what anything I'd be interested in?
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: Definitely not, certainly not the skinny confidential.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: Okay, that's one that I'm probably not interested about.
- 1:07:06Speaker 9: Why why can't you be You've lost some waves by.
- 1:07:09Speaker 7: Well, that's a good mix of like female business, female.
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: Like fashion style.
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: Sounds like biohacking for women they have like female health.
- 1:07:21Speaker 7: What else like you like hacking your biology, like getting
- 1:07:24Speaker 7: in touch with your circadian rhythm, and like habit stacking,
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: getting morning sunlight the sun.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: Morning sunlight's better than later sunlight.
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: Well, morning sunlight's really good because it's not super direct,
- 1:07:38Speaker 7: so you're.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: Not getting and judges you for the day skin.
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: Obviously you don't want to be out in the sun
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: baking all day, but the morning light and then also
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: like just lowering your overhead lights in the evening really
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: helps you get into like a good circadian rhythm.
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: So just random stuff I pick up along the way.
- 1:07:54Speaker 7: But thought, I love podcasts, I just do. It's like
- 1:07:57Speaker 7: a habit stack for me, Like I don't want to
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: just do the dishes or just clean my house. I
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: want to be listening.
- 1:08:03Speaker 9: To something better yourself.
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: And I find that and like you guys know, I
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: have a long commute.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: So general that's winning fire is usually what you do
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: when you just do a menial task. You're cutting them
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: cutting the grass as an example. Yeah, let's groove is
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: a perfect economy.
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: I don't know if it's you know, when I cut.
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: The grass, sweats or shorts, mostly the shorts because it's
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: usually the summer, but now it's a little cold. I'll
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: have sweats on on Saturday when I do it for
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: the final time season. But they decided.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Are they like the traditional gray sweats with the draw springs? O?
- 1:08:42Speaker 9: The girls like the gray sweats eat for this is
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: the thing.
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: Nobody likes those those never sweatsuits.
- 1:08:50Speaker 9: Someone right in about that the thing?
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: So what are the other girly things? See? I was
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: thinking likely things like you know you're listening to you know,
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: a couple of actresses, you know, spill the tea. Yeah, okay,
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: i'd be I'd be in.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: Yeah, so you're more like gossip podcast?
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: What's the one with Jason Bateman and Will Arnett Lane?
- 1:09:09Speaker 9: My wife likes someone that's I guess they're really funny.
- 1:09:12Speaker 9: Sean Hayes, I think is on them.
- 1:09:13Speaker 6: Everyone's like, how do you keep up?
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: I mean there must be a and I'm not kidding
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: a million pots.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: I think it's amazing. The ones that like this really
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: significant money, you know, like only a few No, I know,
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: but I think it's it's so hard when you think
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: about that, how many of there are, Like how like
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: Joe Rogan or like the Kelsey's Now how they like
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: how they do that?
- 1:09:38Speaker 9: Yeah, that's amazing two million.
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I was listening to I can't even get I
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: can't even get a car.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: Remember that first big podcast it was a crime podcast?
- 1:09:51Speaker 9: Yeah cereal, Yeah, cereal.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: So yeah, that was like the first one that really
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: caught on and got a big audience. I was like, wow,
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: that's pretty cool, and so I checked it out. There
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: were a lot of people that worked on that, like
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: it was a major production. And it went to show
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: me that even though it's just a podcast, if you
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: want it to be good, you still have to put yeah,
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: you know a lot of work.
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: And so those lines of podcast like the true crime
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: and stuff like that. I don't really have any interesting
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: listening to any of those.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: I absolutely love You're right, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: Absolutely right, But I've listened to I remember when we
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: were driving back from the Carolinas last February and Beth's like,
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: do you want to listen to? You know, I was
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: like whatever, you know, like he's kind of everything on
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: the radio has been played like nine thousand times, so yeah,
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: go ahead and play. And I was like, people listen
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: to this.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: I feel like it's your thing. It's like it's like
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: Aadian rhythm. It's like putting you to sleep. They're so
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: like murders on his case. You're such a mini fan.
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: He should Does Kurt know how much you love him?
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Matt Hopes.
- 1:10:57Speaker 9: So.
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: I like.
- 1:11:00Speaker 9: Funny thing about that Cereal podcast. I actually listened to
- 1:11:02Speaker 9: that on the way down to San Diego for the
- 1:11:04Speaker 9: twenty fourteen Patriots Chargers game was when I listened to
- 1:11:07Speaker 9: that podcast with Cereal, the Cereal one about which I
- 1:11:10Speaker 9: think that kid got thrown. I think he was out
- 1:11:11Speaker 9: of jail and frosted flakes what cerealal Yeah, Ceial podcast.
- 1:11:16Speaker 9: There was another good one too, down the Hill that
- 1:11:18Speaker 9: I listened to true crime prodcasts What about it?
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: Thanks man?
- 1:11:20Speaker 9: Two girls were murdered in Indiana That was really good.
- 1:11:23Speaker 9: And then like I listened to it at the Calm
- 1:11:25Speaker 9: Mind a couple of years ago and then they finally
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: just salted. So that's always cool when you.
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: Like, did you see the news for the Comboy. They
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: extended it a year, so it's through twenty six.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: Let's go love it spring. What is it spring Hill
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: Suites that you guys stay.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: In Embassy Suite?
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: Embassy.
- 1:11:40Speaker 9: I'm we're going to the four Seasons.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: Well, yeah, they're probably going somewhere else because Andy and
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: I used to love the Embassy Suite. So when Nancy
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: would ask us we wanted to stay, we would say
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: the Embassy Suites. And evidently because of the other people
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: that now have gotten they're like, why are we staying
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: at the Embassy Suites? I don't know, stay wherever you want.
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: I don't go anymore.
- 1:11:59Speaker 9: I mean it's connected to Weber grow too.

- 1:14:01Speaker 15: during the week that we do, uh than practice. And
- 1:14:04Speaker 15: some of those guys look there, They're not out there
- 1:14:06Speaker 15: on Sunday, but I think they definitely deserve to be recognized.
- 1:14:09Speaker 15: And looking forward to another good week of practice this week,
- 1:14:14Speaker 15: you know Wednesday. Look, as always, we always turn the page.
- 1:14:18Speaker 15: All of our focuses on the Rams. It's a good
- 1:14:20Speaker 15: football team. It's a good football team, you know. I know,
- 1:14:23Speaker 15: maybe their record doesn't really reflect the talent that they
- 1:14:27Speaker 15: have on the roster, the coaching that they have, but
- 1:14:30Speaker 15: this is a good football team. And you know, I'm
- 1:14:32Speaker 15: going to continue to stress to the players, to the team,
- 1:14:34Speaker 15: to the coaches it's you know, having a sense of
- 1:14:36Speaker 15: urgency and really you know, learning how to win. We
- 1:14:40Speaker 15: haven't had a back to back win this year, and
- 1:14:43Speaker 15: so we've lost multiple games in a row. So we
- 1:14:47Speaker 15: know that side of it. Now, we've got to figure
- 1:14:49Speaker 15: out how to turn the page after a win and
- 1:14:52Speaker 15: get a victory. You know, when I look at this team,
- 1:14:55Speaker 15: especially offensively, it starts with the quarterback, a guy like
- 1:14:58Speaker 15: Matt Stafford who's done it at a high level for
- 1:15:01Speaker 15: a very long time. You know, I don't think he
- 1:15:02Speaker 15: gets the credit that he deserves, but he is a
- 1:15:05Speaker 15: very accurate passer, can make all the throws, and just
- 1:15:08Speaker 15: because he's older doesn't mean that he can't move around
- 1:15:11Speaker 15: in the pocket a little bit. Now, not the same
- 1:15:13Speaker 15: as some of these other quarterbacks, but as you study
- 1:15:15Speaker 15: the film, which I know all of you guys study
- 1:15:17Speaker 15: a lot of film, he definitely makes people miss in
- 1:15:20Speaker 15: the pocket and those extended plays are definitely a huge,
- 1:15:24Speaker 15: a huge prop. Also the receiver position. You know, those
- 1:15:28Speaker 15: guys are definitely good competitors. You know, Cub's been doing
- 1:15:32Speaker 15: it for a long time, multiple hundred, one hundred reception seasons.
- 1:15:36Speaker 15: He's just all around just good players, but a good player.
- 1:15:40Speaker 15: But it's not just him. The other guys, you know,
- 1:15:42Speaker 15: turn the Seattle game on the plays they made at
- 1:15:44Speaker 15: the end of the game where they just refuse to
- 1:15:47Speaker 15: be denied as far as catching the ball, and you know,
- 1:15:49Speaker 15: obviously they pulled that one out. I would say, you know,
- 1:15:52Speaker 15: Kyroen does a good job. He's in the majority of
- 1:15:54Speaker 15: the time anytime a back is in there, you know,
- 1:15:57Speaker 15: over eighty percent of the time. You know, you look
- 1:15:58Speaker 15: at this guys at three down back and really can
- 1:16:00Speaker 15: do it all. I can do it all upfront. Look,
- 1:16:03Speaker 15: they're getting healthy upfront and so you know they'll have
- 1:16:06Speaker 15: some guys back you know that they haven't had over
- 1:16:08Speaker 15: the past few weeks. They're getting healthy upfront. And again,
- 1:16:12Speaker 15: just a huge shout out to McVeigh and his staff.
- 1:16:15Speaker 15: You know, that scheme is hard. It's hard to defend.
- 1:16:18Speaker 15: You know, the run game looks just like the play
- 1:16:20Speaker 15: action game. The run game looks just like the boot game,
- 1:16:23Speaker 15: and they do a good job with those fakes and
- 1:16:25Speaker 15: all of that stuff defensively. For the Rams defense, I
- 1:16:29Speaker 15: think it starts upfront. And to me, this has been
- 1:16:33Speaker 15: a I think the coaching staff has done a good
- 1:16:36Speaker 15: job and it's almost like a philosophical change in my mind,
- 1:16:38Speaker 15: because you don't have the.
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: Big name guy up there.
- 1:16:43Speaker 15: At the same time, I would I would argue to say,
- 1:16:45Speaker 15: this is one of the best fronts that we have
- 1:16:47Speaker 15: seen all year, and it's a young group and they
- 1:16:50Speaker 15: do it the right way. They play the right way,
- 1:16:52Speaker 15: they play together, they hustle, they're all over the place,
- 1:16:55Speaker 15: and so you know, our offensive line they got to
- 1:16:57Speaker 15: step up. They got to step up. And really, you
- 1:17:01Speaker 15: know a lot of people say it's a challenge, but
- 1:17:02Speaker 15: it's an opportunity for them to again, you know, shut
- 1:17:05Speaker 15: up the naysayers about not being able to establish the
- 1:17:08Speaker 15: line of scrimmage. And so that's my challenge to them.
- 1:17:12Speaker 15: You know, if we handle those guys. You know, they
- 1:17:13Speaker 15: have guys at the second and third level obviously, but
- 1:17:16Speaker 15: I think it just starts upfront and special teams wise. Look,
- 1:17:20Speaker 15: you know, I try to put a lot of stress
- 1:17:22Speaker 15: on our special teams to go out there and win
- 1:17:23Speaker 15: every single week. And I would say the major already
- 1:17:26Speaker 15: of the year, they've done a good job, whether we're
- 1:17:28Speaker 15: talking about Marcus in the return game and those hitting
- 1:17:30Speaker 15: yards or you know, close to blocking punts, close to
- 1:17:33Speaker 15: blocking field goals. We just have to continue to try
- 1:17:35Speaker 15: to make plays and try to get the ball back
- 1:17:37Speaker 15: into our offens's hands. You know, with the guys, if
- 1:17:41Speaker 15: they're excited. We turned the page this morning and they're
- 1:17:44Speaker 15: ready to go. And we need a good look. We
- 1:17:46Speaker 15: need a good week of practice. It can't just be
- 1:17:49Speaker 15: one day. It can't be up and down like. We
- 1:17:50Speaker 15: need a good week of practice to go out here
- 1:17:52Speaker 15: and give ourselves a chance to win this game.
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: Fire away, And then you talked.
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: About challenging dropics line.
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: I know it's grew.
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: Nuts.
- 1:18:03Speaker 15: Help no, no, no, yeah, see, I'm your real friend
- 1:18:08Speaker 15: because I know everyone in here saw that.
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: No one said anything. It's ridiculous. You tell ever if
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: I had a boogerm on those right, I hope so.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: Talk about And there were totally plenty things if you
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: sit here. But is there a sense of optimism about
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: ay A should get to see five guys out there
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: for the second street game.
- 1:18:28Speaker 15: I think for the first half year that would be fantastic,
- 1:18:31Speaker 15: And that is my expectation with the realization that you
- 1:18:34Speaker 15: can get the Friday and lose one of those guys.
- 1:18:36Speaker 15: But I hope, Look, I have my fingers crossed that
- 1:18:38Speaker 15: we can roll the same group out there this season.
- 1:18:40Speaker 9: He's a long process. Of finding the right out seat
- 1:18:42Speaker 9: because obviously landed on Alex.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: Just how grateful argue.
- 1:18:45Speaker 9: That he's here?
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: How much has he helped you?
- 1:18:47Speaker 9: But how important has he been to Drake Stade?
- 1:18:49Speaker 15: Yeah, he's been huge. I say, look, there's no one
- 1:18:51Speaker 15: in this organization that deserves more credit as far as
- 1:18:55Speaker 15: what Drake has been able to do on the football field.
- 1:18:57Speaker 15: And Alex Vanpel you know, when we interviewed Alex, I
- 1:19:00Speaker 15: would say, when we interviewed all the all of the
- 1:19:03Speaker 15: coaches that are here, one of the prerequisites or requirements
- 1:19:06Speaker 15: was a guy who's level headed and a guy who
- 1:19:09Speaker 15: believes in working together and a guy who you know
- 1:19:13Speaker 15: doesn't get too high get too low. And that's Alex.
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: And I appreciate that you mentioned the proceeds for.
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: The Rams and two Ryans Kakola Copper faspect.
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: A lot to know, Is it seam is it? Yeah?
- 1:19:32Speaker 15: Answer question. I think it's a combination of everything you
- 1:19:35Speaker 15: just said. Look, everyone had a chance to pick those
- 1:19:38Speaker 15: guys at some point in time and now look they're
- 1:19:40Speaker 15: Pro Bowl players, so uh, their scouting department has done
- 1:19:43Speaker 15: a good job, the coaches have done a good job,
- 1:19:45Speaker 15: and I would say ultimately those players seem like they've
- 1:19:48Speaker 15: taken accountability of their careers. And I would also throw
- 1:19:50Speaker 15: the defensive line in there, where you have a lot
- 1:19:52Speaker 15: of young guys up there that they just play with
- 1:19:56Speaker 15: relentless effort and they're going to be a very good
- 1:19:59Speaker 15: team going forward.
- 1:20:01Speaker 5: Question though, would would type somebody else?
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: He was there, and I'm just using those guys.
- 1:20:10Speaker 15: I'm asking, Yeah, it's yeah, it's tough to get into
- 1:20:13Speaker 15: those hypotheticals. I do think sometimes the scheme does, you know,
- 1:20:17Speaker 15: create superstars, and sometimes it makes people look like a flop,
- 1:20:22Speaker 15: even though you know when you draft these players, you
- 1:20:24Speaker 15: see something in college that they have done that's encouraging,
- 1:20:27Speaker 15: and so it's our job at jobs as coaches to
- 1:20:29Speaker 15: put them in positions to continue to be the player
- 1:20:32Speaker 15: that we saw before.
- 1:20:34Speaker 11: When in earlier year when you were talked about the offense,
- 1:20:36Speaker 11: you put it to scheme. We need to scheme it
- 1:20:38Speaker 11: up better. We need to do some different things. How
- 1:20:40Speaker 11: have you seen the scheme developed since Drake has been
- 1:20:43Speaker 11: in there? Are any happy with the trajectory that the
- 1:20:45Speaker 11: scheme and the offense is on.
- 1:20:46Speaker 15: I am happy with the trajectory. You know, if you
- 1:20:50Speaker 15: just look I hate to do this. But let's look
- 1:20:53Speaker 15: back at the last game, and so we were one
- 1:20:55Speaker 15: for five in the red area. But before that, you know,
- 1:20:58Speaker 15: the previous I think four games, we had nine drives
- 1:21:01Speaker 15: in the red zone. Eight of them were touchdowns, on
- 1:21:03Speaker 15: one of them a field goal, And so I think
- 1:21:06Speaker 15: you can't there's a balance, right, there's a balance in
- 1:21:11Speaker 15: you know, giving Drake and the rest of the offense.
- 1:21:13Speaker 15: And I know everyone wants to focus on the quarterback
- 1:21:15Speaker 15: because he touches the ball every snap, but you have
- 1:21:17Speaker 15: to remember, like we just had a conversation about hopefully
- 1:21:20Speaker 15: having the same offensive line out there, it's not just Drake,
- 1:21:22Speaker 15: and it's not just the receivers. It's not just any
- 1:21:26Speaker 15: one person. Is a combination of things.
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: Some of your personnel that has a chance to potentially
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: practice or play, any of the far more strange those
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: two guysicular.
- 1:21:38Speaker 15: Yeah, I would say, you know, Barmore is ahead of
- 1:21:40Speaker 15: Strange And look, there is a chance that he would
- 1:21:43Speaker 15: be able to practice this week or next week, so
- 1:21:46Speaker 15: there is a chance that we'll get them back.
- 1:21:48Speaker 12: Some game planning for a team like the Rams that
- 1:21:51Speaker 12: you just don't have a ton of familiarity, d you know.
- 1:21:54Speaker 15: Well, you know, I kind of I would push back
- 1:21:57Speaker 15: on that a little bit. There are a lot of coaches,
- 1:21:59Speaker 15: head coaches, offensive coordinators that kind of have fallen from
- 1:22:02Speaker 15: that tree, not saying that they're exactly the same. You know,
- 1:22:06Speaker 15: all of those coaches kind of put their own spin
- 1:22:08Speaker 15: on it. But at the same time, there are a
- 1:22:10Speaker 15: lot of repeat concepts that you can see through multiple teams,
- 1:22:13Speaker 15: whether you're talking San fran or Miami or any of
- 1:22:15Speaker 15: those other teams. So now I'm saying that, I mean,
- 1:22:19Speaker 15: he does a good job, you know, putting in wrinkles,
- 1:22:21Speaker 15: and there's a lot of pre snap and post snap
- 1:22:23Speaker 15: communication that has to happen. And their whole thing is, look,
- 1:22:26Speaker 15: we'll use our motions to out leverage, to outman people,
- 1:22:29Speaker 15: and we have to be on our p's and q's
- 1:22:32Speaker 15: to handle that.
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: I mean, this.
- 1:22:32Speaker 12: Franchise played the rams of the Super Bowl six years ago.
- 1:22:36Speaker 12: How similar is mcvay's offense then.
- 1:22:39Speaker 15: And now it's definitely evolved. In saying that he has
- 1:22:43Speaker 15: his staple, so what he wants to do and uh,
- 1:22:45Speaker 15: he's a good play caller and they got a good team.
- 1:22:49Speaker 8: Decide, what have you studied or taken away from Sean's
- 1:22:52Speaker 8: success as a fellow dump head coach in the sleep
- 1:22:55Speaker 8: and what have you noticed.
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: The best program?
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: You can see his evolution.
- 1:22:57Speaker 15: You know, I've been a fan for a long time
- 1:22:59Speaker 15: from Afar, the evolution of you know, started out, let's
- 1:23:03Speaker 15: spend all this money in free agency, let's make a
- 1:23:05Speaker 15: run for it to now looking at the they actually
- 1:23:09Speaker 15: have some draft picks now so that they developed these
- 1:23:12Speaker 15: guys and go.
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: Out there and play. So he's he's one of those guys.
- 1:23:15Speaker 15: Going back to the mental agility or being able to change,
- 1:23:18Speaker 15: I think he's one of those guys.
- 1:23:20Speaker 9: The challenge you know, as a player did it many
- 1:23:22Speaker 9: many times. It sounds kind of simple, but getting your
- 1:23:25Speaker 9: team to repeat and win back to back gams that
- 1:23:29Speaker 9: you haven't.
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: Been able to do.
- 1:23:30Speaker 15: Yeah, it's just a sense of urgency. And I think,
- 1:23:32Speaker 15: you know, part of that has to do with turning
- 1:23:35Speaker 15: the page. And I would also say it's the same
- 1:23:38Speaker 15: thing during the game where it doesn't matter what the
- 1:23:40Speaker 15: scorer is at halftime, like when we come out in
- 1:23:41Speaker 15: the second half is zero zero, and that mentality hopefully
- 1:23:45Speaker 15: will get as going. Look, I just try to paint it.
- 1:23:47Speaker 15: I just try to give them up. If we hit
- 1:23:48Speaker 15: these targets offensively, defensively, and special teams in conjunction with
- 1:23:52Speaker 15: the coaches. If we hit these targets, it gives us
- 1:23:55Speaker 15: a good chance to win the game. Now, will it
- 1:23:57Speaker 15: be nine out of now nine out of nine targets hit?
- 1:24:00Speaker 15: Probably not, But if we can hit seven or eight
- 1:24:02Speaker 15: out of nine, we have a good chance.
- 1:24:05Speaker 11: Baker, he's I think he's only up four offensive steps
- 1:24:08Speaker 11: for the last couple of weeks.
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: Obviously he's doing enough in practice.
- 1:24:12Speaker 11: Obviously he's doing enough in practice to get on the field,
- 1:24:14Speaker 11: But do you think you're seeing him enough in games
- 1:24:16Speaker 11: see a full.
- 1:24:17Speaker 15: Evaluation of the This is still a work in progress,
- 1:24:20Speaker 15: and that's any rookie. And I will also say we've
- 1:24:24Speaker 15: been going for a long time now, and so there
- 1:24:26Speaker 15: has to be a point in time, at least for
- 1:24:27Speaker 15: the rookies that they can take a breather. Unfortunately, we
- 1:24:30Speaker 15: don't have that time right now. And he's going to
- 1:24:32Speaker 15: continue to get better, and he's been great in the
- 1:24:34Speaker 15: meeting rooms and hopefully shows up on the field.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: I want to ask today, I'm back to watching the thumb.
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: Is sliding going to be more of an emphasis going forward?
- 1:24:44Speaker 12: Like and I feel like I saw a few like
- 1:24:46Speaker 12: head first.
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: Dive and things like that.
- 1:24:48Speaker 15: We have a sliding period today and practice. Thanks, get
- 1:24:50Speaker 15: somebody from the Red Sox come.
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: Down, and now great moments in.
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: History. I got my tonsils out and I had a
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Back then you stayed overnight, but this was planned. I
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: mean back then, I sucked my thumb and I had
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: a blanket, and uh I did. I stopped that last year,
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: but we know who the pussy is now. So you're
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: in this crib at night, and of course if you
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: need anything, you had a button to, you know, get
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: the nurse there. So I realized my blanket was in
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: my suit suck it with his So I remember, I
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: remember being this little kid, but you know, so I
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: pressed the button and the nurse comes over and she says, well,
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: you know, what do you need. I said, in that suitcase,
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: there's a blanket.
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: I need it.
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: And this thing was like tattered because I had literally
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: had it since I had been born, you know, like
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: where I rubbed it, it was all worn out and everything.
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: So the nurse goes in, she goes this thing and
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: I remember to I said, just give it to me,
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: was like, just give it to me.
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: That's another great moment from.
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: Funny. How certain things you just remember, like it's yesterday.
- 1:25:59Speaker 9: I did have a name your blank I had a
- 1:26:00Speaker 9: blanket too like that. My parents called it rotten rag
- 1:26:03Speaker 9: and it was disgusting and the same thing, like everywhere
- 1:26:05Speaker 9: I went, I had to go with me.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: It was just my blanket. I didn't have one.
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: I feel, yeah, you have one.
- 1:26:11Speaker 6: I didn't, But I had a bear, mister bear. I
- 1:26:15Speaker 6: still have them.
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: Made it for me when I was born, and I
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: had a little bunny rabbit thing in the middle, but
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: by that time, like it was just like a rag. Yeah.
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: Mowing in the garbage once because she didn't like me
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: sucking my thumb because she thought it would push my
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: teeth out, and I had to go in the garbage
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: and retrieve it. Oh yeah.
- 1:26:37Speaker 9: My poor sister had blankies for a while, like almost
- 1:26:40Speaker 9: like too long. And then she would take them when
- 1:26:42Speaker 9: she would go to like sleepovers, and I hope she's
- 1:26:44Speaker 9: not listening, sorry, Mary, But she would take her blankets
- 1:26:46Speaker 9: and she put them in her pillowcase. And she stayed
- 1:26:48Speaker 9: one time at a hotel and she's like an adult,
- 1:26:51Speaker 9: not adult, but like you know, twenties, and she left
- 1:26:53Speaker 9: him in the hotel and she like a lot. I mean,
- 1:26:56Speaker 9: she called the hotel frantic, like you know, but it's
- 1:26:59Speaker 9: like you said, he's.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: Made fun of me in college, but I didn't.
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: Just give just give it to me.
- 1:27:06Speaker 9: You're like whipping people with it and making hats out
- 1:27:08Speaker 9: of it.
- 1:27:09Speaker 6: And surprise, your parents didn just have another maid.
- 1:27:13Speaker 9: That's what we did to Mary because Sarah the same blanket.
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: So we cut it up and gave it to me.
- 1:27:17Speaker 7: My baby sister, Juliana, she was she was I was
- 1:27:20Speaker 7: eight when she was born. So we had I think
- 1:27:22Speaker 7: three different of her blankies.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I I had a I mean, I broke down.
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: I remember we moved to New Jersey and my first
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: sleepover at Michael Dela Cruz's house across the street, and like, okay, great,
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: I'm gonna sleep over Michael Dela Cruz's And then like
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: an hour later, I realized, oh my god, my blanket.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: He's gonna make fun of me, and so I broke
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: like telling my mother I can't go over there. You know,
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: I can't do it without my blanket. She said, just
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: just don't worry about it, like, just it'll be all
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: it turns out. He had a blank.
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: Everybody's gotta say. It was like an after school special.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: More Hey, somebody just sat down? All right, Evan, what's
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: going on?
- 1:28:17Speaker 12: The mood was fantastic at Patriots practice.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: Any any specific reason why that wears number ninety was
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: back at Patriots practice on Thursday.
- 1:28:30Speaker 12: Christian Barmore in in the flesh out there practicing taking reps.
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: People say, we missed you a clot.
- 1:28:42Speaker 9: You working on that wonder Okay, I didn't hear a
- 1:28:48Speaker 9: clout of that.
- 1:28:52Speaker 12: Puns aside, Uh, it was cool to see Christian Barber
- 1:28:56Speaker 12: back out there, just on a personal like human level
- 1:28:59Speaker 12: that you know he's healthy and everything's going well, and
- 1:29:03Speaker 12: he was back out there. He's in line taking reps.
- 1:29:06Speaker 12: Obviously no not we're not watching contact reps or you know,
- 1:29:09Speaker 12: actual eleven on eleven's but he was taking reps during
- 1:29:13Speaker 12: positional drills and it does seem like he's back in
- 1:29:16Speaker 12: the mix. So that's great news.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: Did they the team do anything form like could you
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: tell you know, I'm being serious? Like, was there like
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: a little you know, you know what I mean?
- 1:29:27Speaker 9: Like Banner Farms was definitely excited about in Locker Master.
- 1:29:33Speaker 12: Yeah, I would say guys were We're coming up to
- 1:29:36Speaker 12: him a little bit in the locker room, just you know,
- 1:29:38Speaker 12: trying to get him ready to go.
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: That's what I meant like stuff like that, acknowledged.
- 1:29:43Speaker 5: Brother.
- 1:29:46Speaker 12: There's some other guys that were also back at practice,
- 1:29:48Speaker 12: moving right.
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: Uh So, no nonsense, Isaiah Bolden.
- 1:29:54Speaker 12: Isaiah Bolden back of practice. Yes, with that personal matter, Yester.
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: Guys have missed practice for a personal reasons this year
- 1:30:01Speaker 4: half a dozen hour. I think there's got to be
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: more than that.
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: Well, the NFL is there babies and slide.
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: That's that's different.
- 1:30:11Speaker 6: Well, they contribute to the person.
- 1:30:15Speaker 9: Anti kids.
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: I need a day, That's what I think.
- 1:30:21Speaker 6: Now it's just coming out.
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: Sorry, go ahead, that's okay. I'm just having like.
- 1:30:27Speaker 9: It's okay football.
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: It's so true.
- 1:30:30Speaker 12: It's so true, Fred uh talkie back at practice on Thursday,
- 1:30:35Speaker 12: Marcella's dial, which was a little surprising because he's in
- 1:30:37Speaker 12: concussion protocol. Uh So, I was a little surprised by
- 1:30:40Speaker 12: that one. So officially, just because you know, to get everybody,
- 1:30:44Speaker 12: make sure we're all on the same page here. Bar More,
- 1:30:47Speaker 12: Takie Taki dial and Bolden all back at practice. Dietrich
- 1:30:51Speaker 12: wise still not practicing with a foot injury and then
- 1:30:55Speaker 12: a new absence today, which of course led to a
- 1:30:58Speaker 12: lot of speculation and grousing. Was Taekwon Thornton who was
- 1:31:03Speaker 12: not at practice, and we do not have a reason.
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: What's the skinny.
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: I'm going to put that down as a personal that's
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: my prediction.
- 1:31:10Speaker 9: He's not supposed to have a kid?
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: Is he personal? It would be my prediction for that.
- 1:31:13Speaker 12: Okay, but he does already, So ours was there were
- 1:31:16Speaker 12: a little bit more okay, you know, speculator dial would
- 1:31:20Speaker 12: that would be tracking like Drake May did similarly, Yes,
- 1:31:24Speaker 12: because he missed Wednesday he was DNP and then Thursday
- 1:31:28Speaker 12: he was back limited carry correct yep.
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: So I know it's kind of crazy, But is there
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: any chance at Barbore plays this weekend?
- 1:31:35Speaker 12: I'd say this weekend's probably unlikely. I'm sure that they
- 1:31:39Speaker 12: would like to have some sort of ramp up period,
- 1:31:41Speaker 12: and he didn't have a training camp, so I would
- 1:31:44Speaker 12: think that they would want to have some sort of
- 1:31:46Speaker 12: a ramp up period. But you know, we were all
- 1:31:48Speaker 12: kind of talking about it and what's realistic and what's
- 1:31:51Speaker 12: not and I just look at it and you play
- 1:31:54Speaker 12: what ten to fifteen third downs a game, like if
- 1:31:57Speaker 12: he can give you ten pass rush snaps on third down,
- 1:32:01Speaker 12: not maybe not even Sunday, but like a week from Sunday.
- 1:32:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Like I know, it is kind of silly
- 1:32:06Speaker 4: the guy's just coming back, but like you know, if
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: you don't have whys and you just need another guy
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: out there that might be able to put some pressure
- 1:32:13Speaker 4: on the pasteway, Yeah, you do put them both out
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: there for ten places.
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think this week would be a
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: little crazy, but next week's possibility.
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: Yeah, next week as possible.
- 1:32:22Speaker 12: And then, like I said, you know, it doesn't have
- 1:32:25Speaker 12: to be like the usage that he had last year
- 1:32:27Speaker 12: where he's playing almost every single defensive snap. It can
- 1:32:30Speaker 12: be you know, just third down or just third and
- 1:32:33Speaker 12: long or just situational stuff like that for the time
- 1:32:37Speaker 12: being until he gets ramped up. But the Taekwon Thornton thing,
- 1:32:41Speaker 12: you know, we'll get the jury report. It could be nothing,
- 1:32:44Speaker 12: but him getting cut was something that we all kind
- 1:32:47Speaker 12: of threw around just a little bit. Just got guys
- 1:32:51Speaker 12: coming back. Alex Austin's window is running out. Pel Grino
- 1:32:54Speaker 12: had some good things to say about him today. Barmore
- 1:32:57Speaker 12: would obviously take up a roster spot whenever they do
- 1:32:59Speaker 12: decide to activate him. So at some point, when you
- 1:33:02Speaker 12: have seven wide receivers on the fifty three man roster
- 1:33:06Speaker 12: and you need to create some room for some guys,
- 1:33:08Speaker 12: you do start to wonder about one of those wide
- 1:33:10Speaker 12: receivers being released.
- 1:33:12Speaker 9: Can I ask a little bit on the line. I
- 1:33:13Speaker 9: don't don't know.
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: Is he done with his report?
- 1:33:15Speaker 9: Do you need some No? I just want to because
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: I didn't regroup with you guys after van Pell. I
- 1:33:20Speaker 9: just kind of thought the born thing continues to be
- 1:33:21Speaker 9: strange where it's like, no, he's one of our best
- 1:33:23Speaker 9: players and he'll be back in there. I was like, well,
- 1:33:25Speaker 9: usually I think like you just play your best players,
- 1:33:27Speaker 9: like your best players don't randomly have to sit out
- 1:33:29Speaker 9: one week Like I just I still am completely confused
- 1:33:32Speaker 9: by that whole situation.
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I'm with you, agree almost like not everybody's
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: on the same page.
- 1:33:39Speaker 12: Yeah, this is multiple Like I love Kenrick Bourne, but
- 1:33:44Speaker 12: this is now kind of multiple coaching staffs at this
- 1:33:47Speaker 12: point that have sort of had similar issues with him.
- 1:33:53Speaker 12: Patricia obviously well documented in twenty twenty two. I don't
- 1:33:58Speaker 12: think that O'Brien was crazy about him at first either
- 1:34:02Speaker 12: and then sort of came around to it once he
- 1:34:04Speaker 12: started making plays and games, and it's probably their best
- 1:34:06Speaker 12: receiver last year until he got hurt. And now you
- 1:34:08Speaker 12: have this coaching staff now that's also uncertain about I
- 1:34:13Speaker 12: think it's mental, Like I think it's you know, knowing
- 1:34:15Speaker 12: the routes and knowing you know what you're supposed to
- 1:34:18Speaker 12: be doing out there more than anything. And it's just
- 1:34:20Speaker 12: interesting that it's been multiple coaching staffs now that have
- 1:34:24Speaker 12: come to the same conclusion, especially.
- 1:34:26Speaker 9: Because he seems like such a outgoing, personable kind of guy,
- 1:34:30Speaker 9: like he just doesn't give off the vibe of, you know,
- 1:34:32Speaker 9: being somebody.
- 1:34:32Speaker 4: That's well, no, I don't think. But to Evan's point,
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: I don't think those are the issues. I don't think
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: that people think it's like effort prima donna. It's not
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: knowing the assignments.
- 1:34:44Speaker 9: Yeah, is that? Yeah?
- 1:34:47Speaker 12: I mean that's the way that I feel just watching him. Obviously,
- 1:34:50Speaker 12: the drops and stuff have been an issue a little
- 1:34:53Speaker 12: bit too this year, but I chalked that up to
- 1:34:55Speaker 12: no training camp and just getting ramped back up. But
- 1:34:58Speaker 12: it's where to line up, it's penalties, it's what you
- 1:35:00Speaker 12: know how to convert routes and things like that within
- 1:35:03Speaker 12: the structure of the offense, and you just see on
- 1:35:05Speaker 12: film that it doesn't always feel like he's doing the
- 1:35:08Speaker 12: right thing.
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: Okay, all right, all right, well we gotta we gotta
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: get to the picks because it's that time of the week,
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: all right, tell us how.
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: Last all right? So last week it was Evan and
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: Fred at ten and four, Mike, Alex and Paul all
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: at nine and five, so everybody was very similar with
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: the spread. A very impressive week for Evan eleven and three.
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: Wow, that is good.
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: Evan on fire, followed by Paul and Fred at nine
- 1:35:49Speaker 4: and five, Alex at eight and six, and Mike at
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: seven and seven.
- 1:35:53Speaker 12: Can't put me out.
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: So overall standings, there's now a tie at the top
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: between Evan and Paul ninety eight and fifty four, followed
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: by Alex and Fred at ninety six and fifty six
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: and Mike ninety two and sixty yikes with the spread
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: yikes six games fire. So with the spread, Fred maintains
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: his dominance with the spread eighty six sixty three and three,
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: followed by me at eighty one sixty eight. No, I'm sorry, sorry,
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: I misspoke. Followed by Mike at eighty two sixty seven
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: and three, then Me eighty one sixty eight and three,
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: then f eighty sixty nine and three, and Alex seventy
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: six seventy three and three. So again I want to reiterate,
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: we're all making money.
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: That is that is impressive and that's good.
- 1:36:49Speaker 6: Only we could upon you look at all the pros.
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: This is why we and all that stuff, and rarely
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: you know when they have a panel, is everyone above
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: five hundred against the spread?
- 1:37:00Speaker 9: That's right, it's true, pick the smartest.
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: And if only we image, if we put effort into this, gave.
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: Some thought to the picks.
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: Remember back in the day, like in Paul's newspaper that
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: he used to be have, I am, they would have
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: like you know, sponsors would be in like this panel
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: along with the writers and it would actually be some
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: that would be below five hundred straight up.
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: So when you you just referred to Patriots Football Weekly
- 1:37:28Speaker 4: as my.
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: Paper, no no, no, no, no, no, I'm not talking
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: about pf W. I'm talking about the Harald.
- 1:37:33Speaker 9: They would have like.
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: Johnny Johnny's used car guy, and he would be with
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: Karen and you know all the writers from the Harold,
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: and you know, they do it just like we do
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: it every week, and the records would be abysmal.
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: And they were, honey, that's funny.
- 1:37:51Speaker 6: Paul with Toyota.
- 1:37:52Speaker 9: Oh there, yeah, let's go.
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: Let's go places.
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: Well, I'm not trying to mention.
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: Toyota.
- 1:38:02Speaker 4: I'll settle for Toyota.
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: Sure, settle. You get yourself a nice or whatever.
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: Toyota camry. I think that's the I think that's like
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: an accord. Yeah, same thing.
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: You don't want to Toyota Tacoma. Nice truck driver?
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: What do I need a truck stuff? What am I holling?
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:38:23Speaker 12: Golf clubs?
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: Yeah, there's no trunk in this uh in this camery,
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: I get no trunk.
- 1:38:29Speaker 12: Yeah, you got trunk. It's actually a nice trunk too.
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: All right, we got hey, we gotta hire a ca.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: We're wasting time here, valuable time. All right. Tonight eight
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: fifteen on Prime Video, good game seven and three Commanders
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: against the seven to two Eagles.
- 1:38:44Speaker 4: The Eagles by three and a half.
- 1:38:47Speaker 9: I like it, but noticing Cooper de Jen getting some
- 1:38:49Speaker 9: some love around. He's been playing really well. Got the
- 1:38:53Speaker 9: Eagles defense play well. I'm gonna take the Eagles both
- 1:38:54Speaker 9: ways at home on the short week, I will lay
- 1:38:56Speaker 9: the points.
- 1:38:58Speaker 6: Yeah, same retweet.
- 1:38:59Speaker 12: I'm gonna take the Eagles as well. The Commanders, low key,
- 1:39:02Speaker 12: have been kind of falling off a little bit, Like
- 1:39:05Speaker 12: the hell Maryland doesn't happen, then we're talking about them
- 1:39:07Speaker 12: in a little bit of a losing streak here. So
- 1:39:09Speaker 12: I'm gonna take the Eagles, and I'm gonna take them
- 1:39:12Speaker 12: both ways. I think they take care of business tonight.
- 1:39:15Speaker 4: I am gonna take the Eagles to win the game,
- 1:39:17Speaker 4: but I will take the Hook. I think Washington has
- 1:39:20Speaker 4: sort of proven to me that they're a little better
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: than I than I thought. Tough loss last week, They're
- 1:39:25Speaker 4: lost by like a half a yard. I think that
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: they are able to keep it close. Philly wins but
- 1:39:31Speaker 4: doesn't cover.
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: I agree with Paul take that hook Division game. They're
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: going to be tough. Both teams are going to be
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: up for this game prime time. I think Commanders play well,
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: Eagles pull it out. Uh Sunday at one on Fox,
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: the six and three Packers are in against the four
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: and five Bears in the three thousandth meeting between these two.
- 1:39:54Speaker 4: Believe that's accurate. Fred Green Bay by five and a
- 1:39:57Speaker 4: half sounds.
- 1:39:58Speaker 9: Right, Bay by five and a half. That sounds about
- 1:40:00Speaker 9: right to me. Man. I want to say Chicago maybe
- 1:40:03Speaker 9: get a little bump from from firing their offensive coordinator,
- 1:40:06Speaker 9: But I don't think it works that way, does it.
- 1:40:07Speaker 9: It's only the head coach.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: Gets I don't think this is a game.
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: The Bill's got a firing their offensive coordinator last year.
- 1:40:14Speaker 9: That's it. That's in the glossary, the tailor details gambling glossary.
- 1:40:21Speaker 9: I will take Green Bay, I will I will lay
- 1:40:23Speaker 9: the five and a half points, please.
- 1:40:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll take the pac Man Packers. Own the Bears, right, Paul,
- 1:40:30Speaker 6: That is accurate. Own the Bears, Yeah, Packers both ways.
- 1:40:34Speaker 12: I'm gonna take the Packers as well, but I'm gonna
- 1:40:36Speaker 12: take the Bears to cover. I do think they get
- 1:40:37Speaker 12: a little bit of juice from the OC thing and
- 1:40:39Speaker 12: they're at home. Packers haven't been like dominant or anything
- 1:40:43Speaker 12: so divisional game.
- 1:40:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I do think they'll get a little bit of
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: a bump because obviously their offense can't be any worse
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: than it was the last two weeks. But I'm gonna
- 1:40:52Speaker 4: take the Packers and I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing. Packers both Ways, CBS.
- 1:40:59Speaker 3: At one o'clock. The two and eight Jaguars are at.
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: The eight and one Lions Mac Jones Mac Jones against
- 1:41:06Speaker 4: the Lions at Ford Field. Lions by thirteen.
- 1:41:11Speaker 9: Boy, I can't do it, Mac.
- 1:41:14Speaker 4: I'm sorry Tony Yesterday.
- 1:41:16Speaker 9: I'm gonna take to TOI. I think I'm gonna lay
- 1:41:18Speaker 9: off thirteen of them points.
- 1:41:21Speaker 6: Lions Lions thirteen.
- 1:41:24Speaker 12: No respect for mccor, no respect. Yeah, I'll take the Lions.
- 1:41:30Speaker 12: That's a big number I don't usually like. I don't
- 1:41:33Speaker 12: usually like to take those big numbers, but I feel
- 1:41:36Speaker 12: it with this one. I'm gonna take Detroit both ways.
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: Yeah, normally I would, I would be taking the points,
- 1:41:42Speaker 4: but I think Detroit is out to win every game
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: by as many points as they can, and I think
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: that they will try to do that. So I'll take
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: Detroit both ways.
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: Yeah, me too, Detroit both ways. One o'clock CBS. The
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: two and seven Raiders are at the three and six.
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: Dolphins, Miami by seven.
- 1:42:01Speaker 9: Seven.
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:42:03Speaker 9: I like Miami and this one. I feel like they're
- 1:42:06Speaker 9: gonna start gaining some momentum here. Unfortunately for the Patriots.
- 1:42:09Speaker 9: Next week, but I will take Miami. I will lay
- 1:42:11Speaker 9: the points.
- 1:42:14Speaker 6: I'm gonna do the same thing.
- 1:42:17Speaker 12: Yeah, a long trip for the Raiders. Miami is a
- 1:42:20Speaker 12: good home team and it looks like Tuas got that
- 1:42:23Speaker 12: offense humming a little bit again. So I'm gonna take
- 1:42:25Speaker 12: Miami both ways as well.
- 1:42:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:42:28Speaker 4: I feel like the Dolphins. This is a this is
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: a must win for them. They gotta they gotta put
- 1:42:33Speaker 4: some wins together against teams that they should beat. The
- 1:42:35Speaker 4: Raiders are one of those. I'll lay the points too.
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: Yeah, this is one of my feeling for the league games.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: Dolphins win, but they don't cover. Raiders have a spirited effort.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: One o'clock on Fox, the two and seven Browns are
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: at the three and seven Saints.
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: Uh Cleveland by one.
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: Wow, that's a game.
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: Caddying, man, I'm gonna watch this one.
- 1:43:02Speaker 12: Can't wait.
- 1:43:03Speaker 9: I don't think I can. I don't think I'm just
- 1:43:05Speaker 9: gonna go with the home team here. I'll go with
- 1:43:08Speaker 9: New Orleans and I'll grab that point for plus one?
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 1:43:12Speaker 4: Plus one?
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: Jamis Winston revenge game.
- 1:43:17Speaker 6: I guess I'm just gonna go with with the Sharps.
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: Cleveland, Cleveland.
- 1:43:22Speaker 12: I guess wait, so Cleveland's favored in this game by
- 1:43:24Speaker 12: one barely.
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: That's wild, wild on the road stuff.
- 1:43:28Speaker 12: That's crazy. I'm gonna take New Orleans. I think that
- 1:43:32Speaker 12: New Orleans, even though they're not good, I do think
- 1:43:34Speaker 12: they're they're better with Derek Carr and so I'm gonna
- 1:43:37Speaker 12: take Nolans they are.
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Cleveland. I think New Orleans got the
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: requisite bump from the crazy coach that the former uur
- 1:43:46Speaker 4: I got Darren.
- 1:43:47Speaker 12: I really regret not seeing that coming. That's that's such
- 1:43:50Speaker 12: a layup with the new coach.
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: So I'll take Cleveland.
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Saints like it's just a home game,
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: like du said one o'clock CBS seven and three, Ravens
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: are at the seven and two Steelers.
- 1:44:05Speaker 4: A division game that might actually have some interest. Yeah,
- 1:44:09Speaker 4: Baltimore by three.
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: Baltimore by three.
- 1:44:13Speaker 9: I saw something this morning that Lamar has actually only
- 1:44:15Speaker 9: played Pittsburgh four times in his career. Does that sound
- 1:44:18Speaker 9: I almost always hurt when it's weird, weird, weird, weird.
- 1:44:21Speaker 9: I don't think it's gonna make much difference this week, though,
- 1:44:24Speaker 9: I'm gonna take Baltimore. I just I continue to not
- 1:44:27Speaker 9: believe in Pittsburgh. They keep winning, But I'm gonna take
- 1:44:29Speaker 9: Baltimore in this one. Lay the points.
- 1:44:32Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Baltimore. But it's hard to bet against
- 1:44:35Speaker 6: the Steelers at home. To make it close and yeah,
- 1:44:39Speaker 6: get the Steelers.
- 1:44:40Speaker 12: They'll cover. Yeah, I've doubted the Steelers all year.
- 1:44:45Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:44:45Speaker 12: I just on paper, they just don't look like there
- 1:44:48Speaker 12: would be a seven and two football team. I'm gonna
- 1:44:50Speaker 12: stick with it. I think Baltimore is just a better team.
- 1:44:53Speaker 12: At some point, the Steelers' offense is gonna have to
- 1:44:55Speaker 12: come back down to earth. Why because I just don't
- 1:44:58Speaker 12: think Russell Wilson is. He's playing out of his mind
- 1:45:01Speaker 12: right now. But the sample size starts to grow, I
- 1:45:03Speaker 12: feel like it's gonna come back around.
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: I would wholeheardly agree that I think Baltimore is a
- 1:45:08Speaker 4: much better team, but I'm taking Pittsburgh. I think Pittsburgh
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: owns the Ravens. And you said that Lamar Jackson only
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: played four games. He's one and three against the Steelers,
- 1:45:19Speaker 4: so I think at home that defense has what it
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: takes to slow him down and Pittsburgh wins. An they're
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: ugly like sixteen thirteen kind of game that would be.
- 1:45:28Speaker 9: So Baltimore, that just that would be.
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Ravens to win this game.
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: I do, if you're right, Fred, Yeah, I do worry
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: about their defense against Russell Wilson because the way he's playing,
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: But I think they figure it out for this game,
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: and I think they pull off the win.
- 1:45:46Speaker 5: On the road.
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: One o'clock CBS, the seven to two Vikings are at
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: the two and seven Titans.
- 1:45:52Speaker 4: Minnesota by six on the road.
- 1:45:55Speaker 9: Says, yeah, lets is back in right. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:46:01Speaker 9: take b flow against that Titans offense. I'll take Minnesota
- 1:46:06Speaker 9: late the points.
- 1:46:07Speaker 12: And b Callahan the Vikings.
- 1:46:09Speaker 6: Vikings.
- 1:46:10Speaker 12: Yeah, I like the Vikings both ways in this game too.
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll lay the points Vikings both ways, folks.
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: I will go with the Vikings both ways as well.
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: I was like when you got one o'clock on CBS,
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: the four and six Colts are at the three and
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: seven Jets.
- 1:46:29Speaker 12: Anthony Richardson.
- 1:46:30Speaker 4: Anthony Richardson back at the helm Jets by four.
- 1:46:33Speaker 9: Holy lord, this this game, it's a whole lot of ick.
- 1:46:39Speaker 9: I can't believe I'm gonna do it, but I'm going
- 1:46:40Speaker 9: to take Lejets at home just I don't know why,
- 1:46:46Speaker 9: but I'll lay the points to I can't bet on
- 1:46:49Speaker 9: Anthony Richardson.
- 1:46:50Speaker 6: I'm going to do the same thing, and I actually
- 1:46:52Speaker 6: feel good about it for that same reason.
- 1:46:54Speaker 12: It made me feel better Anthony Richardson's loose cannon.
- 1:46:58Speaker 6: That's just a mess.
- 1:46:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:47:00Speaker 12: I think the Jets are just in a weird headspace.
- 1:47:05Speaker 12: But I still like them in games against teams like
- 1:47:08Speaker 12: the Colts. So I'm going to take the Jets, but
- 1:47:10Speaker 12: I don't like it. I don't feel great about it either.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: Jets are a very easy schedule this year.
- 1:47:16Speaker 4: I'm going to take the Jets too, just because of
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: Anthony Richardson. If it was Flacco, I'd be taking the Colts.
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: I kind of agree with Evan. I think the Jets
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: are in a really bad way. Did you hear that
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: there was a guy's name Albrick, the interim coach, had
- 1:47:32Speaker 4: said earlier in the week that they were going to
- 1:47:34Speaker 4: be in pads. This was yesterday. I think we're gonna
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: be pads today and tomorrow we're gonna work on tackling.
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: I don't think you can do that. I think you
- 1:47:42Speaker 4: can only be in pads once once a week and
- 1:47:44Speaker 4: then not even every week.
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: Yeah, well, is it accumulative, like if you didn't go
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: in pads a week before you can do two? Is
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: it something like that?
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: Maybe I always thought it was only once a week.
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I think.
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: But I don't have any faith in the Jets. I
- 1:47:57Speaker 4: just Anthony Richardson. Maybe I don't know. Maybe sitting a
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: couple of weeks helps them sort of good, get back
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: on track. But I'm gonna take the Jets me too.
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Jets as well. All right, So
- 1:48:06Speaker 3: now we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock. And
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: while we do that, I'll take a drink and I'll
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: tell you it's easy to drink, It's easy to enjoy.
- 1:48:14Speaker 3: Bud Light is the official beer sponsor of the New
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: England Patriots and Black Friday's Coming Quick, do you want
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: to spend it watching football instead of waiting in line?
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: This November, Bob's is unboxing unbeatable values for your home
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: all month long, so you can skip the phony sales
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: and stock up early on everything from sofas to bedroom sets,
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: the stocking stuffers and plenty of wow worthy gifts too.
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: So stop in and see how much you can say
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: when you dare to compare with Bob's Discount Furniture, the
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: official furniture store of the New England Patriots. All right,
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: so we go to four oh five. The six and
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: four Falcons are at the five and five.
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: Broncos Denver by two and a half.
- 1:48:56Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, closely you get to Christmas. They're all in
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: Denver because the networks they just love having games in Denver.
- 1:49:06Speaker 12: Excuse me.
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: It's unbelievable, and it's.
- 1:49:09Speaker 9: Kind of a tough game. It's kind of a tough game.
- 1:49:10Speaker 9: I feel like to pick believe. I don't really believe
- 1:49:13Speaker 9: in bone Nicks, but they seem to be playing well.
- 1:49:16Speaker 9: Their defense is good. I'm gonna take Denver at home,
- 1:49:19Speaker 9: just elements home game, lay the point and a half,
- 1:49:23Speaker 9: two and a.
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: Half, Denver, Denver.
- 1:49:27Speaker 12: I keep on wanting to trust the Falcons, and they
- 1:49:30Speaker 12: they did last week. Yeah, and they keep on letting
- 1:49:32Speaker 12: me down.
- 1:49:33Speaker 4: Check it down on fourth down.
- 1:49:34Speaker 12: And the Broncos definitely should have beat in the Chiefs
- 1:49:36Speaker 12: last week. So I'm gonna go with the Broncos. I
- 1:49:39Speaker 12: think the Broncos have been playing decent and I like
- 1:49:42Speaker 12: them in this game.
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: Yeah, because of what happened to the Broncos last week,
- 1:49:46Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Atlanta to pull off the I don't know,
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: I don't really consider this an upset, but they are underdogs,
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: so I'm gonna take Atlanta out right.
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's good reason, Paul, But I am gonna go
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: with the Broncos to win this game at home, four
- 1:50:02Speaker 3: five on Fox, the four and five Seahawks at the
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: five and four forty Niners.
- 1:50:08Speaker 4: By six and a half.
- 1:50:09Speaker 12: They own the Seahawks.
- 1:50:11Speaker 9: Yeah, that's pretty big number. I'm gonna go with the
- 1:50:16Speaker 9: Sharps on this one. It's hard to get a beat
- 1:50:18Speaker 9: on San Francisco if they're gonna really start to make
- 1:50:20Speaker 9: a run here or not. But I'll I'll take San Francisco.
- 1:50:23Speaker 9: I gotta take the points, though, I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:50:25Speaker 9: give Seattle the points.
- 1:50:29Speaker 6: I'm just gonna go with the Niners.
- 1:50:32Speaker 12: I was gonna say something nice about brock Purty oh
- 1:50:36Speaker 12: playing a lot better this year. I actually think he's
- 1:50:39Speaker 12: he's had a really good year. And I think the
- 1:50:41Speaker 12: Niners role in this game. And I think McCaffrey was
- 1:50:43Speaker 12: pretty much back last week, but really it is back
- 1:50:46Speaker 12: this week.
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to take the Niners both ways. Too
- 1:50:49Speaker 4: too much, too much offensively for Seattle.
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Niners have to get it going now that CMC's back,
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: and I think they will. Niners win this game for
- 1:50:59Speaker 3: twenty five, probably the game of the week, the nine
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: and oh Chiefs at the eight and two Bills.
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: Buffalo by two two. Wow.
- 1:51:08Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm gonna go.
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: With a lot of respect for who for the Bills.
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: Oh, they're still favored.
- 1:51:15Speaker 9: I mean, it's been a growing for Kansas City this year.
- 1:51:17Speaker 9: I mean they've They've pulled these games out by the
- 1:51:19Speaker 9: skin of their teeth. I'm gonna go with Buffalo at home.
- 1:51:21Speaker 9: It's time hold serve at home. I think this is
- 1:51:23Speaker 9: Kansas City's first loss.
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: The two points same.
- 1:51:27Speaker 6: I'm picking it, I'm manifesting it.
- 1:51:29Speaker 9: I haven't picked any Kansas City all year, so this
- 1:51:31Speaker 9: is a little bit of departure for me.
- 1:51:32Speaker 12: But I believe I'm taking the Bills, taking them win
- 1:51:36Speaker 12: this game. I think the Chiefs have been on that
- 1:51:38Speaker 12: line all year long of losing a game. I think
- 1:51:40Speaker 12: they lose this week, and this is the week that
- 1:51:42Speaker 12: Josh Allen m VP really starts to heat up.
- 1:51:45Speaker 4: Bills win Buffalo really controls Kansas City during the regular season,
- 1:51:51Speaker 4: they just can't beat them in the playoffs. So I'm
- 1:51:53Speaker 4: gonna take the Bills at home.
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Chiefs. The downward spiral begins
- 1:51:59Speaker 3: this week. They lose to the Chiefs and they never recover.
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: Oh wow, they never recover.
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: That's dark. Imagine still going with it at eight and two.
- 1:52:09Speaker 12: I respect the bit, I too.
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: Eight NB, sure, Universo, Telexitos.
- 1:52:17Speaker 4: And I'm the stubborn one Peacock.
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: The Ford and six Bengals are at the six and
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: three Chargers.
- 1:52:23Speaker 4: It's an interesting game. The Lack by one and a half.
- 1:52:26Speaker 12: It's a game on the Peacock too.
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: I did say that.
- 1:52:30Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with the Lack and
- 1:52:33Speaker 9: this one at home. Defense justin Herbert. Sorry, Cincinnati, you
- 1:52:38Speaker 9: can't quite break into the you know, turn the tide
- 1:52:41Speaker 9: with your season. That's just been going down the tube
- 1:52:43Speaker 9: since Week one. So I'm gonna I'm gonna take the
- 1:52:45Speaker 9: Lack and I'll lay the point and a half.
- 1:52:47Speaker 6: I'm gonna do the same thing.
- 1:52:49Speaker 12: The Chargers have won three in a row, all against
- 1:52:51Speaker 12: really crappy teams. So this is the first time that
- 1:52:53Speaker 12: they're playing a team that's actually decent. So I'm gonna
- 1:52:56Speaker 12: take I don't know, I'm gonna take the Chargers. I
- 1:53:01Speaker 12: don't know. I wanted to take the Bengals, but they've
- 1:53:07Speaker 12: just been had such a weird year and everything goes
- 1:53:10Speaker 12: against them. It seems like every single week. I'm gonna
- 1:53:12Speaker 12: take the Chargers. But I don't think the Chargers all
- 1:53:15Speaker 12: that Yeah, I think.
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: The Chargers defense has been pretty impressive, but I agree
- 1:53:19Speaker 4: that they've been running the ball. They don't let Herbert throw.
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: I'll take Cincinnati on the road. There's not really much
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: of a home field with the Chargers because no one
- 1:53:27Speaker 4: goes to the games. I'll take Cincinnati. No one goes
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: to the games to root for the charge I should
- 1:53:32Speaker 4: say this is.
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: A game where I'm just picking the team I really
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: want to win. So I'm picking the Lodgers, right, But
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: I do have, like Paul said, faith in that defense.
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: Jim Harbaugh, I think.
- 1:53:43Speaker 4: They're pretty I mean, I think they're well coached, and
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: I think they have a good defense. But for whatever reason,
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: he won't let Herbert throw the ball.
- 1:53:48Speaker 12: Jesse Minter is their defensive coordinator and he's going to
- 1:53:50Speaker 12: be a head coach within the next year or two.
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'll go with the Chargers there. Monday night,
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: eight fifteen on ESPN, ABC, ESPN two, ESPN Deporte the
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: six and four Texans at the three and six Cowboys.
- 1:54:04Speaker 4: Love having the Cowboys on primetime again, Thanks for that,
- 1:54:08Speaker 4: s Houston by seven and a half? Is this Cooper Rush?
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:54:10Speaker 9: Wow?
- 1:54:11Speaker 4: Cooper Rush?
- 1:54:13Speaker 9: And what's the kid from Duke's name? It's another Cooper,
- 1:54:15Speaker 9: isn't there Like there's like another kid with a similar company.
- 1:54:18Speaker 9: I forget Cooper Flag.
- 1:54:19Speaker 12: Maybe oh them, it's very different.
- 1:54:23Speaker 9: I I keep getting confused though by it. There's too
- 1:54:25Speaker 9: many Coopers and I grew up hockey player. They anyway, Sorry,
- 1:54:28Speaker 9: I digress. I'll take Houston U and Generation.
- 1:54:33Speaker 6: Texans. Texans.
- 1:54:35Speaker 12: We'll talk about Cooper Flag later.
- 1:54:37Speaker 4: I'm gonna take that.
- 1:54:38Speaker 12: I'm gonna take the Texans both ways too. I think
- 1:54:40Speaker 12: the Cowboys just they don't have enough healthy guys right now.
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, Paul.
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: I'll lay the points. I'll take Houston. I'll lay the points.
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: It's a lot of points though, Yeah, I agree, but
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: I just love seeing the Cowboys lose. So I'm gonna
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: go with Houston both ways. Uh, now we go back
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: to one o'clock. This is a Fox game. The four
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: and five Rams are at the three and seven Patriots.
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: Iund like that the Rams by four and a half.
- 1:55:17Speaker 9: Let's come down?
- 1:55:17Speaker 12: Does that come down a little bit?
- 1:55:18Speaker 4: I believe it opened at five five, five and a
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: half half point.
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:55:23Speaker 9: I wish I could. I wish I could believe they're
- 1:55:24Speaker 9: gonna carry the momentum over. I just I got a
- 1:55:26Speaker 9: lot of respect for the Rams, their defense. Uh, you know,
- 1:55:30Speaker 9: Cup and the cool They're back, they're getting healthier. Matthew
- 1:55:34Speaker 9: Stafford's a veteran. I think it's just a tough, tough
- 1:55:37Speaker 9: spot for the Pats. I'm going to take the Rams.
- 1:55:39Speaker 9: I'll lay the points. I'm going to say, Rams twenty
- 1:55:43Speaker 9: seven to twenty four.
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: Twenty seven?
- 1:55:47Speaker 9: What am I doing? Sorry?
- 1:55:49Speaker 5: Sorry?
- 1:55:50Speaker 9: Twenty seven, twenty.
- 1:55:50Speaker 4: One twenty one?
- 1:55:53Speaker 12: You have to be doing specific there?
- 1:55:54Speaker 4: I got he said he was laying the point, and
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: then he picked it with him something in Monday. That's
- 1:55:59Speaker 4: what they try to do. So then they go back
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: and say you screwed me out of a win. I
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: would never true, because he picked both sides.
- 1:56:05Speaker 12: I mean no one checks your work just to be fair.
- 1:56:07Speaker 4: This is true, guarantee, it's not right.
- 1:56:12Speaker 6: We need an audit. Rams twenty seven, Patriots.
- 1:56:17Speaker 4: Twenty seven to twenty. So laying the points as well, Evan.
- 1:56:20Speaker 12: So, I don't think the Rams are going to score
- 1:56:22Speaker 12: as much as Deuce and al. But I can't help
- 1:56:26Speaker 12: but think that the talent discrepancy is just going to
- 1:56:28Speaker 12: win out here for the Rams. But I'm going to
- 1:56:30Speaker 12: say Rams twenty Patriots sixteen. And I do think the
- 1:56:36Speaker 12: Patriots defense can can hang with these receivers on the Rams,
- 1:56:40Speaker 12: So I don't see it being super high scoring, but.
- 1:56:46Speaker 4: I don't unless that pass rush that we saw against
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: Chicago is somehow transfers here. And the Rams offensive line
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: certainly had a hard time Monday night against Miami, and
- 1:56:59Speaker 4: you guys point out two starting tackles didn't practice on Wednesday.
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: We'll see if there's an update today for no Boom
- 1:57:06Speaker 4: and Jackson Aleric Jackson. I thought there was another name,
- 1:57:12Speaker 4: but whatever, Oh oh.
- 1:57:13Speaker 12: Hastein is the other guy. Buts so those guys play
- 1:57:16Speaker 12: the same position.
- 1:57:16Speaker 4: Oh okay, yeah, okay, So I'm going to take the
- 1:57:20Speaker 4: Rams twenty seven to sixteen. I think there's too much
- 1:57:25Speaker 4: on both sides of the ball for the Patriots right now.
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: But I could see the pass rush bothering Matthew Stafford.
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: He doesn't move around as well as he once did.
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: So if they can get pressure, then maybe I'll be
- 1:57:38Speaker 4: my pick will be wrong and we'll be talking a
- 1:57:40Speaker 4: different story in the postgame show.
- 1:57:42Speaker 3: Uga jocka uga Uga. I can't stop this feeling. I
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: got the feeling. I got the feeling. Patriots thirty one
- 1:57:55Speaker 3: Rams twenty eight in an instant Gillette Stadium classic.
- 1:58:00Speaker 12: You have like a pick six in there or something.
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: This is the game that Michael point to. This is
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: the game that Drake Man had made his bones in
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: the NFL.
- 1:58:08Speaker 12: Oh, it does feel a little bit like two thousand
- 1:58:10Speaker 12: and one patriotsy, where like even if we can play
- 1:58:14Speaker 12: with these exact we hang, you just know its exactly
- 1:58:17Speaker 12: where I'm going. Even if we just hang with the Rams,
- 1:58:20Speaker 12: it shows a lot about the program.
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: Right, we have three minutes? Can I win some as
- 1:58:27Speaker 4: semblance of sanity?
- 1:58:28Speaker 3: No?
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: Okay, I'm going to any all right? So what were
- 1:58:33Speaker 4: the Rams in two thousand and one? The greatest show
- 1:58:35Speaker 4: on What are the Rams? In twenty twenty four? A
- 1:58:39Speaker 4: sub five hundred team. Yeah, but like showing that you
- 1:58:43Speaker 4: can hang with the Rams on Sunday is not anywhere
- 1:58:46Speaker 4: in the same ballpark.
- 1:58:47Speaker 12: I think.
- 1:58:48Speaker 4: So what it showed you in two thousand.
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: They are much more They are a much more talented
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: team than the Patriots.
- 1:58:54Speaker 4: I think they were a better team than the Patriots.
- 1:58:56Speaker 4: But it's not anywhere near no, like the kind of
- 1:58:59Speaker 4: talent we were talking about in mean.
- 1:59:01Speaker 12: Like multiple Hall of famers. Right, yeah, but let's be
- 1:59:04Speaker 12: fair though, Paul. Then the Patriots in two thousand and
- 1:59:07Speaker 12: one went on a what eight nine game winning streak
- 1:59:09Speaker 12: to win the Super.
- 1:59:10Speaker 4: Bowl and they never lost again.
- 1:59:12Speaker 12: I'm just saying it's possible.
- 1:59:13Speaker 4: I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I'm not
- 1:59:16Speaker 4: saying it's not going to happen either.
- 1:59:17Speaker 3: But I'm I think they do more than live on
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: the fence. But I just I say they win the game.
- 1:59:22Speaker 4: You're saying hanging isn't like the it's not the accomplishment
- 1:59:26Speaker 4: that hanging in two thousand and one was.
- 1:59:28Speaker 3: So it's exactly here it is, folks, postgame show, you
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: know Paul, what Paul's stance will be if it's a
- 1:59:35Speaker 3: close game, well.
- 1:59:37Speaker 4: I need to give him any credit. I need to
- 1:59:39Speaker 4: see the game. Okay, Mike, how much credit did I
- 1:59:41Speaker 4: take away from the Patriots on Sunday due to Chicago's ineptitude?
- 1:59:45Speaker 9: Oh no, no, no, you were very right credit giving
- 1:59:48Speaker 9: towards the Patriots.
- 1:59:49Speaker 4: Couldn't couldn't two things be true? Couldn't the Patriots have
- 1:59:52Speaker 4: dominated a game and the other team kind of was terrible?
- 1:59:56Speaker 12: Sure, but in this case, it's the greatest show on turf.
- 2:00:00Speaker 4: Reducks, reducs, reducts, reducs.
- 2:00:02Speaker 3: So folks, get ready, big win, big win, Just propel
- 2:00:08Speaker 3: us down to Miami.
- 2:00:11Speaker 4: You're already picking a win in that one.
- 2:00:12Speaker 3: No, I have to see what happens Sunday.
- 2:00:18Speaker 9: Crazy, not get ahead.
- 2:00:19Speaker 3: It's one game at a time.
- 2:00:20Speaker 12: We don't have to do that.
- 2:00:21Speaker 4: We don't play.
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: No, we don't have to do it too. We owe
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: it to our fans to be objective. All Right, that's
