Speaker B: Some local motherfuckers in the Dazzle Den.
• 0:09
Speaker C: If you're in a local band and.
• 0:11
Speaker B: You'Re passing through town, stop by when.
• 0:15
Speaker A: The creepies come out. You're at the Dazzle Dan with those creepy motherfuckers. You're at the Dazzle Dan with those creepy motherfuckers.
• 0:23
Speaker B: You're at the Dazzle dad with those creepy MOMA Clubs. You're at the Dazzle dad with those creepy movie star. Welcome to unsigned 500. Right. I got even. I got even less into it that I did the first time. Hi, everybody. It's Andy and BJ Swinghammer. Yeah. Of Weekend Spotlight. We're combining our. Our forces and bringing you a couple of Halloween episodes over the next couple weeks. We've been kind of gathering stuff over the last couple weeks, a couple months. And so we've got some really cool segments. We've got cool interviews, cool local music that is Halloween themed. And yeah, it's going to be. Going to be really cool. We got one episode this week and then one next week. And I'm not doing any Unsigned five or eight episodes. Any normal episodes this week or next, and you're not doing any.
• 1:54
Speaker D: I'm not doing any Weekend Spotlights. We're putting our soul efforts into this monumental occasion of two episodes of unsigned 518 Halloween specials.
• 2:04
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 2:04
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 2:05
Speaker B: It's going to be killer. So, you know, I guess before we get started, how do you. What are your thoughts on Halloween? Just, like, in general, like, what were you, like, a Halloween kid growing up or like, where were you at? Like, on the. On the spooky spectrum?
• 2:20
Speaker D: I mean, honestly, I was never. I mean, I enjoyed Halloween like every other kid. I was never super into it. I started getting more into it because I grew up on a farm. So I grew up around three. Three kids and three of them sucked, and that's including me. So, like, we went to Halloween, we did Halloween and we did Halloween, school, shit, whatever. But I didn't start to really get into Halloween until, like around college and after college when you start to find the people that are just like Halloween people and you go, oh, yeah, you know, and that. I'm not as Halloweeny as other people that I know, certainly. But I do enjoy the spooky season. I love it so much.
• 2:56
Speaker B: Yeah. There's something about it for me that, like, it just like, even like driving home, like some afternoons, like just the crisp air, you know, like the dead leaves and the crisp air and just like driving with the windows down and looking around and noticing the chain. It brings something out in me that is. I don't know, you know, it makes me happy to be alive. It makes me feel thrilled at things. It makes me want to, like, engage in something in the way that I feel. Like, a lot of people feel about, like, Christmas.
• 3:27
  Speaker D: Yeah.
• 3:28
Speaker B: You know, like, my wife, for instance, like, Katie's big into Christmas, and it, like, invigorates her. And she loves to, like, you know, bake and do the Christmas events and the presents and the. And the parties and. And, you know, I'm like, kind of. Nah, you know, Christmas is okay.
• 3:44
Speaker D: Christmas is cool. But Christmas is really. I mean, it's about, you know, giving and getting. But it's definitely, like, commercialized to, like, the nth degree, whereas Halloween's just like, hey, you know, let your freak flag fly. Be yourself. And it just so happens to coincide with my favorite season.
• 4:01
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 4:01
Speaker D: And it isn't because it's a vegan, because it's crisp, it's invigorating and kind of gets you that. And, like, I don't do well in the summer because I can't escape my skin.
• 4:08
  Speaker B: Correct.
• 4:08
Speaker D: But, like, like, let's say falling asleep in the autumn, leaving a window open under a nice blanket, that's, like, the best way to sleep, man. Like, it's crazy. Yeah.
• 4:17
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 4:18
Speaker B: Like, today we had the. Like, it's a little bit nice, and. And Katie had the door open, and she was like, you know, is that. You know, because I was. It was a little chilly. She's like, is that fine? I'm like, no, leave it open. Yeah, I'll put a sweatshirt on.
• 4:29
  Speaker D: Yep.
• 4:29
Speaker B: You know, like, because I like that air. You know, there's something about, like, the air, but.
• 4:33
  Speaker C: And.
• 4:33
Speaker B: And plus the. The spooky. You know, I'm a spooky kid year round.
• 4:37
Speaker C: I mean, obviously, you know me.
• 4:39
Speaker B: Like, I don't watch horror movies, only, like, around this time of the year. Like. And, you know, and again, people that know me know that, like, I like horror movies, but I don't like it all. Like, and there's some horror stuff that I just won't watch. Like, you know, like, I'm not a body horror. You know, like that movie, the Substance.
• 4:57
  Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
• 4:59
Speaker B: I'm not gonna watch it. Like, or the. The one Together with James Franco and Alison Brie. Like, it's a lot of, like, body horror, like, and grosses me out. And it doesn't, like, you know, because horror, I guess, is supposed to. It doesn't Scare me. It just grosses me out, like, in.
• 5:16
Speaker D: A lot of ways. Once you bring a really big, like triple A lister, like into a what's supposed to be a horror movie, it's always less whore ish in my eyes.
• 5:23
Speaker B: Yeah, I guess. But just any of that body horror stuff, like, even like the Fly, like, really bugged me out when I was a kid. And it's one of those, I don't need to watch it again. Like, it's an important film. Both, like, original and the remake or whatever, but they're not ones I revisit. Like, and some people could say like, oh, well, slashers are like, you know, quote unquote gross. But it's not the same as like, no, no, no. You know, like, like Cronenberg films, like the Brood and shit.
• 5:52
  Speaker D: Oh, Jesus Christ.
• 5:53
Speaker B: You know, it's just like. I know, it's unsettling. Anyway, yeah, I love this. I love the season. I love that you're here in the flesh in person. And we're. We're going to be doing this the next two weeks together. I think it's going to be pretty fun. But I guess let's just roll right into it. What do you think?
• 6:12
Speaker D: I mean, yeah, there's no reason. There's no reason not to.
• 6:14
Speaker B: No reason not to. So the first thing we have is a segment. This is one that was recorded a couple months ago. It's actually not either of us doing the interviewing. It's my buddy Frank Polangi, who I met from doing this show. And, you know, he's. He's local, like up in the Glens Falls area. And I had heard the name, but we had never actually met. And then he came on the show and we talked more about horror movies than we did music. And like, after we recorded, we just, you know, and. And we just stayed in touch. And he asked me if I would do a part in his movie American Psychopath that was filming. And it was just a very bit part of. I think my name was Bob and I was a boyfriend of, of one of the more main characters. And I just basically have a scene where I'm rushing out in the morning and kind of being a little standoffish and a little like, not standoffish, but like, you know, a little like, I don't have time for you, babe, gotta go type of. And then there's a scene where I'm like on the phone trying to find out where my girlfriend is. So a very minor, minor part, but there was a speaking role in it and, and it did play in the. On the big screen. I guess she edit the Madison on the big screen. It was cool. But from that, he, like, gave me opportunities to do, like, I've been in three of three of his movies. And then I pitched an idea for a horror movie to Frank while we were actually on our way to the horror convention where he. Where this next segment takes place. And I was like, you know, I have an idea for, like, a horror movie. Like, and I gave him the. The idea and he turned it into a script and we shot it and it'll be out sometime, like, next year, and it's gonna be. That'll be cool. So. Oh, yeah, that'll be on, like, probably next year's Halloween episode. We'll talk all about that. But anyway, down at this horror convention, Brad Laree, who is a stuntman and actor who played Michael Myers in Halloween Resurrection, which I've said before, is the terrible Halloween movie it is. So there's so much wrong with it. There's so many misfires. There's so many things that just, like, very much like time stamp it and leave it in, like, 2002 or three. And it's not like a timeless class. It was. It could never be a timeless classic because of some of the decisions that the filmmakers did. But one thing about that movie is the Michael Myers is fucking fantastic. And he's fantastic in every scene. And he embodies Michael Myers. He's good, like, the way he moves, the way he attacks, the way he stalks. And that's all because of Brad Laree, who played Michael Myers in Halloween Resurrection. So he is a great Michael Myers in a very bad Halloween movie. But, you know, can't fault him. And I actually give him extra credit for shining that much. Where I will rewatch this movie a couple times a year. And it's not good, but he is.
• 9:40
Speaker D: Last thing, if you can offset.
• 9:42
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 9:42
Speaker D: You know, some terrible writing and stuff like that, and just by being a great Michael Myers.
• 9:47
Speaker B: And that's why everybody, you know, that's why everybody's going to see something. It was for the Michael Myers and, like, it would have been great if they had some character development and could make people that you liked on screen.
• 10:01
Speaker D: No, you leave that back in the 70s and 80s.
• 10:03
  Speaker B: Yeah, I guess.
• 10:04
  Speaker E: But.
• 10:04
Speaker B: But Brad was. Brad was fantastic. So anyway, Frank had met Brad before and actually screened Halloween Resurrection with him and got to interview him. And when we went down to the horror convention, you know, I got to meet Brad. We hung out with him. Him for. I don't Know, probably an hour or more. I've got his, his autographed picture right behind me with him confronting Jamie Lee Curtis in Resurrection. He was a super cool guy, super generous. And while we were there, it was unplanned, but I was like, you know, I wonder if, or no, I think Frank said to me, like, you think we could should ask him if he would do a, do an interview, you know, for your, for your Halloween episode? And I was like, well, let's, yeah, you know, so Frank was like, hey, would you be cool with doing an interview? I filmed it, so I'll probably, probably put it up on YouTube or something or Instagram at some point so that people can see the video. But it is Frank Polanche interviewing Brad Laree, who played Michael Myers in Halloween Resurrection. So I guess let's, let's check that out and then BJ and myself will be right back. Thanks, Sam. Andy here, we're with Brad Lurie here, who played Michael Myers in Halloween Resurrection.
• 11:22
Speaker E: Yes, I did. Hi, folks.
• 11:23
  Speaker B: How you doing?
• 11:24
Speaker E: Thanks for the show. I'm fantastic.
• 11:26
Speaker B: So you do this often?
• 11:27
  Speaker A: Come out?
• 11:27
Speaker E: I try. I've been hustling the shows now on my own for about eight months.
• 11:32
  Speaker D: Okay.
• 11:32
Speaker E: And you know, I'm still learning, but I just love, you know, I've been on disability since 09. I, I, I, I don't work anymore, so I'm just sitting home board and yeah, I get to come out and see, see some places I've never seen. And I make new friends at every show, which is the best part of it. And sometimes, you know, you have some fun. You know, I just, I mean, as quiet as this show is, I'm still having a good time. The only problem is on a day today. But they want me to sit here for nine and a half hours. My back won't take it.
• 12:01
Speaker B: Yeah, the chair. You need better chairs.
• 12:03
Speaker E: I need, I need, I need a, I need one of those Massage Lazy boys. That's what I need. May, I'll put that in my contract for the now on.
• 12:10
Speaker B: I'll, I'll bring you a lawn chair next time.
• 12:12
Speaker E: That would be nice. That would be nice with a cold six pack.
• 12:15
Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Now, I hear you might have an autobiography maybe going on with a guy.
• 12:20
Speaker E: I know, but isn't an autobiography supposed to be written by the actual person?
• 12:25
Speaker B: No, not all the time.
• 12:26
Speaker E: We're looking. As opposed to a biography, we're going to call it an autobiography. Yeah, well, if there's any spelling mistakes, I'm going to, I'm to Deny all involvement. I'll tell you that right now. I just say that because I have a friend that's.
• 12:37
  Speaker F: That.
• 12:38
Speaker E: That's trying to be a script writer.
• 12:40
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 12:41
Speaker E: But his spelling and his grammar is just horrible.
• 12:44
  Speaker B: That's me.
• 12:45
  Speaker E: Is that you?
• 12:45
  Speaker A: Yeah, it's me.
• 12:46
Speaker E: But, Frankie, do you get it proofread before you.
• 12:49
  Speaker F: I do.
• 12:49
  Speaker B: Spell check.
• 12:50
  Speaker E: Yeah, spell check.
• 12:51
  Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 12:53
Speaker E: Humans that reuse technology.
• 12:56
Speaker B: That's why I write the outline. I write the outline.
• 12:59
  Speaker D: Yeah.
• 12:59
Speaker B: And then the script. Script's a good one.
• 13:03
  Speaker F: What?
• 13:03
Speaker B: So out of. Out of this whole movie, what. What's the one moment that you remember the most that you'll. You'll cherish from being in Halloween Resurrection?
• 13:15
Speaker E: When I got called into the office to meet the executives, I thought they were looking for a stunt double for Mike Myers, the guy from Toronto, Mr. Austin Powers.
• 13:24
  Speaker D: Yeah.
• 13:24
Speaker E: Because I hadn't seen the movie in 18 years and I forgot the guy's name. And I took the initial call. I was in my car and I was only half paying attention. Anyway, so after I did the walk for Rick, the Rick Rosenthal a few times, he turned to Paul Freeman and said, hey, you'll be fine.
• 13:39
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 13:40
Speaker E: And Paul says, now, Brad, you're the first guy we've looked at. And so we have to consider other people, but if we do decide to go with you, we're gonna have to fly you down to Los Angeles to cast your head in order to build the mask. I go, wait, wait. I said, I gotta go all the way to LA just to double.
• 13:54
  Speaker B: Somehow he acted.
• 13:54
Speaker E: They said, no, no, you're not going to double the guy. You're going to be the guy.
• 13:58
  Speaker C: Wow.
• 13:58
Speaker E: And that was where everything shifted, because up to that point, I wasn't taking that job. I was right in the middle of a very lucrative show I was doing for Fox. And so I took the Halloween show, my friend took the other show, and middle of the third episode of the second season, they pulled the plug. So here I am, 23 years later, still rocking and rolling and still having fun.
• 14:21
  Speaker C: That's cool.
• 14:22
Speaker B: I don't know. You know what? You're lucky, too, because I don't think they take casts of the actors for those movies.
• 14:29
Speaker E: Ask the other guys. Do they cast your. I keep forgetting.
• 14:31
Speaker B: I think Don. Don Shanks. They did, but I don't think. I don't think they do. I think so, yeah. Because that mask is.
• 14:39
  Speaker A: Okay.
• 14:39
  Speaker B: Unique.
• 14:40
Speaker E: I wonder if they did that for Chris Duran.
• 14:43
  Speaker B: I don't think.
• 14:44
  Speaker D: Well, they made.
• 14:44
Speaker B: They made four. Yeah. They wouldn't know but he.
• 14:49
Speaker E: He was the worst. And he admits it. Well, he doesn't admit it, but he admits that he should have maybe studied the guy a little.
• 14:55
Speaker B: There was actually four or five masks for that movie.
• 14:58
  Speaker D: Really?
• 14:58
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 14:59
Speaker E: That he used for H2O.
• 15:01
Speaker B: Yeah. There was two versions of six. An alien mask, the one you see in the movie, a digital mask.
• 15:06
Speaker E: And if you watch the movie closely, can you see the mask change?
• 15:10
  Speaker F: Yeah.
• 15:10
  Speaker C: You can?
• 15:11
  Speaker A: Yeah. Really? Yeah.
• 15:12
  Speaker E: H2O.
• 15:13
  Speaker F: Yeah.
• 15:13
Speaker B: Watch it again. You'll notice, especially now.
• 15:15
Speaker E: Watch it again. That's where you love Put a Gun to my head. I'm kidding. I'm kidding, Chris. I feel you.
• 15:23
Speaker B: We'll have to get him on here next.
• 15:25
Speaker E: Michael, as who you are as a person.
• 15:27
  Speaker A: Yes.
• 15:27
Speaker E: But your performance. I teased him because you got to give him a hard time.
• 15:33
Speaker B: He did it his own way.
• 15:34
Speaker E: He gets a little bit of a big head of you.
• 15:36
  Speaker B: What would you.
• 15:37
Speaker A: What would you think?
• 15:38
Speaker B: It'd be easier if they said, do it your own way or you got to do it this way.
• 15:41
Speaker E: Oh, doing it your own way.
• 15:43
  Speaker A: Your own way.
• 15:43
  Speaker B: Easier.
• 15:44
Speaker E: Yeah. He. See, he, he, he.
• 15:46
  Speaker A: He.
• 15:46
Speaker E: He went deep into his. Into his thought process, and what he decided to play him as was a guy dressed as Michael Myers. Not like Michael Myers.
• 15:55
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 15:55
Speaker E: You know, which is what my problem was. He looked too much like a guy that was on a Halloween. At a Halloween party.
• 16:01
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 16:02
Speaker B: Which was the copycat thing I mentioned to you. The original script.
• 16:05
  Speaker E: Right, right.
• 16:06
Speaker B: Maybe that's where he drew that from.
• 16:07
  Speaker E: Oh, man.
• 16:08
Speaker B: Halloween history here. Well, thanks so much for being on this podcast. I appreciate it.
• 16:13
  Speaker E: I'm a can of spam.
• 16:14
  Speaker F: All right.
• 16:16
  Speaker E: Dandy.
• 16:17
  Speaker A: I like.
• 16:17
Speaker E: I like the candy.
• 16:19
Speaker B: Taking it back to you guys.
• 16:21
  Speaker E: Thanks, guys.
• 16:25
Speaker B: All right, cool. Thank you, Frank. That was. That was awesome. Very cool. And again, I'll probably put the video up on YouTube, so you can go check that out. But in the meantime, also go check out Brad in Halloween Resurrection and see if I'm wrong. You know, I think. But I think you'll agree. Great, great Michael Myers. Really, really fucking terrible movie. But anyway, on these next couple episodes, we're not only going to have segments that are related to Halloween or horror or just the season in general, but we're also going to play some music from local artists that have a Halloween or spooky or seasonal theme to it. And I guess I'll kind of leave the music up to our weekend spotlights, guy, BJ Swinghammer. So what do we got first, man?
• 17:13
Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, it wouldn't be unsigned.518 if there wasn't local music involved in some fashion. And luckily, there is enough going around these days where you've got some great bands doing some great songs for Halloween. So that just makes our jobs that much more fun. And for the first song, actually, it's. It's a. It's a band that you know that and you love. It's the Sugar Hold. They are all over the place. They're some of the busiest guys in the. In this local industry.
• 17:40
Speaker B: And they do your theme song.
• 17:41
Speaker D: They also. That's right. I've been talking about it a lot, but I.
• 17:44
  Speaker F: You know.
• 17:44
Speaker D: Yeah, they totally did a theme song for me.
• 17:46
Speaker B: One of your themes.
• 17:47
Speaker D: One of them, yes. There's two other ones.
• 17:49
  Speaker B: Forensic Polaroid.
• 17:50
  Speaker D: That's right.
• 17:51
Speaker B: And actually Forensic Polaroids. Lonnie is the theme song to this. To my Halloween episode.
• 17:58
  Speaker D: That's right.
• 17:59
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 17:59
  Speaker D: He's like a music ninja.
• 18:00
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 18:02
Speaker D: So Sugar Hold. And for the first one we're gonna do, this is Werewolf Baby with Billy from the Nolanots on sex.
• 18:11
Speaker B: Stumbling in the full moonlight harem man in the middle of the fucking night Helen Misty Cross. Listen hear his confused destiny cooking.
• 19:02
Speaker A: The moon is full so beware Giving my abundance of body hair I can't be sure maybe premature There's a chance that I might be away maybe I'm old, baby maybe I'm just going crazy I don't know. Got into me lately Sa. You're right. There's a chance that I might be. Maybe I'm away maybe I just going crazy I don't know what's going into me. I.
• 22:15
Speaker D: All right, that was Werewolf Baby with Billy from the Nolan Knots on Sacks by the Sugar Hold. You're very welcome because that's an outstanding song. And you know what? Moving forward, we've got. The next segment is from Andy. Andy.
• 22:28
  Speaker C: What is.
• 22:29
Speaker D: What's the next segment?
• 22:29
  Speaker A: What is.
• 22:30
Speaker B: I don't know, but I definitely was not just smoking a joint from High Peaks. Cana. No, I definitely was not. No, I was. Next segment we have is Lena Delfier. She's a horror movie reviewer out of Nashville. And also she does some stuff with this podcast called the Horror Sanctum, which you should check out because I. I discovered it kind of through Lena, and I've been listening to it. It's really great. I love horror podcasts. I don't know if you. You knew that. And I wish I had more time because I would do my own. Maybe. Maybe I will anyway, but. So Lena Delphier does horror movie recommendations and, like, I've been following her recommendations this season and she basically will, you know, tell you some stuff to watch on Shudder. And I don't know if you have Shudder.
• 23:23
Speaker D: I don't have it currently, but I've had it previously and I do enjoy it.
• 23:25
Speaker B: Yeah, it's, it's great. And she does like some recommendations or what to watch on Shudder. And I've been taking her up on her recommendations and they've been great. And I, I recently discovered, and in talking to her in this interview, I say that I had seen it and after the interview I, I realized that I hadn't. And I think I was thinking of something different. But the movie is Hell House llc and I feel like I was like thinking of like Motel Hell.
• 23:52
  Speaker D: Right.
• 23:52
Speaker B: Or something. But like, because she was like, oh, have you seen that? And I was like, yes, I have seen that one. And then I realized that I. I have not seen that. So to. To remedy that, I, I watched it and confirmed I was. Because I was like, no, I have not seen this. But it was fantastic. Super low budget. It was like this group of people that put on haunted houses, like as an attraction.
• 24:15
  Speaker D: Yeah.
• 24:16
Speaker B: That travel. Travel around and do it and they go to this like, old hotel that.
• 24:23
  Speaker A: Is.
• 24:25
Speaker B: Supposedly haunted and whatever and they're gonna put on a haunted house in a real haunted house type of thing. And you know, know, things go. Go spookily. And I like fell in love with it and. And I wouldn't have seen it if it wasn't for Lena. So what Lena is gonna do is put together some movie recommendations for our audience and she's gonna do it in different tiers. There will be a beginner tier, an intermediate level, and then than, you know, experts tier or level.
• 25:00
  Speaker D: I like that.
• 25:01
Speaker B: And I really strongly suggest that everybody watch these movies that she recommend recommends because everything that she has recommended I am behind, you know. So follow her on Instagram. Laina Delphier is LA N A D L F E A R and check out the recommendations for yourself because they're. They're really great. She's a cool personality. I really dig talking to her and I'm probably going to have her check in on the show. Maybe my show or yours.
• 25:37
  Speaker E: Yeah.
• 25:38
Speaker B: A couple times a year going forward, not just through spooky season because we get. I'll use scares every once in a while. But anyway, let's take a, take a second here and shoot it over to my interview with Lena Delphiere that happened just a couple weeks ago in early October. So we'll Be right back with that. And we are back. We are on the phone with Laina Delfier, horror movie reviewer extraordinaire. And, Lena, you're down in Nashville, correct?
• 26:11
  Speaker G: Yes, correct.
• 26:12
Speaker B: Awesome. So how are you?
• 26:15
Speaker G: I'm doing great. It's, you know, early October. It's not super cool down here yet in Nashville.
• 26:22
Speaker B: But does it get cool down there or. It stays relatively hot.
• 26:28
Speaker G: It's, you know, there's like a week in there that is, you know, fall. It's more closer to Halloween, thankfully. It's a little blistering right now, but there is a touch of that autumn briskness to the breeze out there, and the leaves are falling, so these are all good signs.
• 26:47
Speaker B: Yeah, we're actually. It's like 80 degrees right now, which is odd because it was very cold a couple days ago, and it's going to get really cold, like in the twenties in a couple days.
• 26:59
  Speaker G: Wow. Yeah.
• 27:00
Speaker B: Yeah, we're in this weird little heat spike. But, you know, other than that, it's. It's very Halloweeny.
• 27:06
Speaker G: Well, I was at the pumpkin patch yesterday, you know, T shirt, shorts, and there are the influencers out there with their flannels on and sweaters, and I'm like, y' all are committed to the bit and I respect that. You know, hopefully it brings the vibes here.
• 27:21
Speaker B: Definitely respect that. So, you know, I. I have you on because I trust your movie reviews and recommendations. I. I watch them all on Instagram, and I. I always just think you're spot on with your. With your take on things. So I thought it would be fun to have you maybe inform my listeners of some movies that I think or that you think they should watch this holiday season. But before we do that, I guess kind of maybe tell them a little bit about where they can find you and where they can follow you.
• 27:54
Speaker G: Yes, absolutely. So I am very active on Instagram and TikTok. On Instagram, it's at lainadolphere, and on TikTok, it's at Lena. Underscore Dell. Underscore fear. And if it's. It's okay if you pronounce my name wrong, because it's a play. Alana del Lana Del Rey. But it is pronounced Lena.
• 28:17
Speaker B: Yeah, it's not. Okay.
• 28:19
Speaker G: Oh, well, thank you. And, you know, my favorite story about that is a few years ago, I was on another horror podcast and we interviewed Joe Bob Briggs. And, you know, before we started recording, we were kind of giving the rundown, and I told him my name's Laina, blah, blah, blah, and he was like, so Laina, not Lana, not Land? And I was like, exactly. I was like, but if you call me any one of those, I will answer. And he was like, no. He's like, you tell people it's Laina and only answer to Laina. And I was like, joe Bob, you're all right.
• 28:52
Speaker B: That's why that dude's a fucking legend, you know?
• 28:55
  Speaker G: Exactly.
• 28:55
  Speaker A: I know.
• 28:56
Speaker G: I was like, thank you so much.
• 28:58
Speaker B: Yeah, I, I agree with Joe Bob, yes, thank you.
• 29:02
Speaker G: But I'm from west Tennessee, but now reside in music city Nashville. Been here for about a decade now, I think. Which times time flies when you're having fun. I've loved horror as long as I can remember. My parents were really into scary movies. My dad was really into the Universal monsters and my mom was more into the classics and sci fi and reading Stephen King. So I like to think I have this very well rounded background of horror.
• 29:33
Speaker B: And I appreciate what gems, you know.
• 29:35
Speaker G: Yes, exactly. I appreciate what you said about my reviews because I try to be honest and just give my own personal thoughts and I have a lot of fun doing that. And I'm a stay at home mom to my son, he's three, so it's a good outlet for me just to be creative and just kind of tap into to that kind of stuff in my brain. So it's just been fun for me. And I also do the watch list for the Horror Sanctum podcast, which is a group of my buddies who all love horror as well. All are pretty local around Nashville, but shout out to them. Great little pod if you like to listen to horror movie reviews that deep dive into movies.
• 30:22
Speaker B: Yeah, and I've been listening to the Horror Sanctum and I love that because that's like. I listen to horror podcasts, like exclusively and like where they do deep dives, that's like my favorite shit. So like the first episode I was like, oh yeah, this is awesome, right?
• 30:37
Speaker G: Like, even if it's a movie I haven't seen, it's just still fascinating to listen to the Deep dive. Even today I was listening to a pod about the Frankenstein novel, which I have not read. I've tried sometimes, but like even Dracula, it just starts off a little boring. But the deep dive into like the authors and all that stuff is super cool. So same with movies like the directors and all the actors and their background. Exactly.
• 31:08
Speaker B: Give it all to me. I love it, I love it.
• 31:11
Speaker G: Yes, yes, there. If I can find it, I'll send it to you. There was one of my buddies, he was doing the music from horror movies or like what inspired directors to write the movies and what they were listening to. So that kind of relates to your pod with music and whatnot.
• 31:29
  Speaker B: That's really cool.
• 31:30
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 31:32
Speaker G: Yes. And I, I do want to throw out there since you, you do talk about local music and whatnot. Just a couple of music recommendations from me that have to do with horror. The first being music for the Macabre. Who's my buddy? My buddy George does that. It's more orchestral. It's kind of like think Hocus Pocus, that kind of music. So it's nice background. And he was, he was very inspired by like growing up trick or treating in his neighborhood. You know, like that nostalgia of just running around the streets and it's actually cooler temps. You know, you don't have to have a jacket over your costume. But his music is wonderful. And then one of my personal favorites. I don't know if you're a fan of Ice Nine Kills.
• 32:20
  Speaker B: Absolutely.
• 32:21
Speaker G: Oh my gosh, I'm a huge fan. I saw them play in Nashville last year and they're like live show is just unreal because they, they go to the nines with the, the costumes and all that stuff.
• 32:34
Speaker B: And I haven't seen them live, but they do come around here. Yeah, they do swing through town.
• 32:40
Speaker G: They are so, so good. Yeah. And Spencer Charnis is just a brilliant genius. So those are just a couple of my horror related music ones. But I do have a beginner, moderate and expert recommendations for your listeners.
• 32:59
  Speaker B: I love it.
• 33:00
Speaker G: So, you know, just, just a note real quick that it's all relative because what's beginner for me is, you know, might be too much for someone else that doesn't like horror. So this is just my recommendation. So with beginners, you know, obviously Hocus Pocus is an obvious one, but Earnest, Scared Stupid is one of my favorites. It is, it's just ridiculous. Bonkers. It's a little gross, but it's fun.
• 33:27
Speaker B: And a little scarier than it had any business being, you know.
• 33:30
Speaker G: That's right. I mean, I don't know what year that came out, but when I was a child and saw it, it did definitely spook me.
• 33:36
Speaker B: Yeah. I'm very much. I'm in my 50s, so like I was, you know, I was a grown up when that came out, but I was still like, damn, that's like, you know.
• 33:46
Speaker G: It'S just so much fun.
• 33:47
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 33:48
Speaker G: And, and Cabin in the woods would be my other recommendation. You know, there, there is some scary imagery in there, but it's still funny. And that can't be kind of fun. I think horror comedies are just good for beginners because it's. It's still funny. You know, it's like, if you watch a really scary movie and then you're like, I gotta turn on and spongebob or something, like, it's kind of like the balance with that.
• 34:12
Speaker B: And that one is so good at, like, introducing tropes and.
• 34:16
  Speaker G: Yes.
• 34:17
Speaker B: Like, almost like road maps out, like, horror for a beginner. Be like, well, there's this kind and there's that kind.
• 34:23
  Speaker G: Exactly.
• 34:24
Speaker B: And there's that, you know.
• 34:26
Speaker G: Yes, that is a great point. I actually dressed up as the ballerina from that movie for Halloween one year, and that was probably my favorite costume because I was in Nashville at the time. And, you know, I'm dressed as a ballerina, and I had made this mask, and so I'm, like, dancing around, and then, like, I put the mask up, and I think people are like, oh, my gosh. And if you haven't seen it, she's got rows of teeth for a face. So if that doesn't entice you to watch it, I don't know what will.
• 34:53
Speaker B: And. And Thor is in it, you know, Chris Hemsworth, isn't it?
• 34:56
Speaker G: Oh, yeah, yeah, exactly. So, I mean, that's one of my favorites ever. When I went to Howling Horror Nights at Universal, that was one of the houses, and they had all the different, like, characters and creatures and everything. It was wild, but a great memory for me. So for your moderate viewers, I've got some classics on here, like Hellraiser and Nightmare on Elm street, which, when I was younger and saw those posters in the video store, I was terrified of them. So there's still a little. Little kernel of me that is still scared of Pinhead and Freddy. But those, I feel like those take it up a notch without just being too scary. I mean, Hellraiser, that is kind of a different level.
• 35:44
Speaker B: Yeah, Hellraiser is intense, but, like, Freddy almost like. And even though Nightmare one is obviously, like, the most actually scary of all the nightmares before he moved into, like, mtv. Freddy, like, people are at least familiar enough with him, might soften the blow of, like. Because that movie's fucking scary. Like, oh, yeah. And it holds up scary, like, even now, like, when you watch, like, so many of those scenes are just like, oh, I know.
• 36:16
Speaker G: And I do love the Nightmare on Elm street franchise. I think most, if not all, are fantastic, which I think it was last year. I went down the Hellraiser franchise rabbit hole. And my Goodness, he. Pinhead does end up in space. Yeah, of course he does.
• 36:33
Speaker B: Yeah. And like, I. I like even, like, felt like Hellraiser 1 and 2 when they first came out. Those were like, my favorites. And then.
• 36:43
  Speaker G: Yes.
• 36:44
Speaker B: I don't know that it just. It deteriorated enough where I was like, I'd rather just literally just go back and watch Hellraiser one than watch another sequel, you know?
• 36:52
Speaker G: Exactly. Yeah. It got really bad.
• 36:54
  Speaker A: Which.
• 36:55
Speaker G: It's interesting with Hellraiser, I guess the. The studio had the rights to so many different movies, so I think after two, they're just like, let's just make whatever.
• 37:05
  Speaker D: Yeah.
• 37:05
Speaker B: But one and two are just for forever. Classics, like.
• 37:09
  Speaker G: Oh, yes.
• 37:09
Speaker B: Like Ash Orange, like, is great in those and. Yeah. So good.
• 37:14
  Speaker A: And.
• 37:15
Speaker G: And the score with both of them is just iconic.
• 37:19
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 37:19
Speaker G: And then my other recommendation is Trick or Treat. Trick Our Treat. I think that's fun. You know, anthology horror. There's definitely in this one some scary imagery, but nothing that really is just gonna, you know, put you on too much on edge. I think it's. I love. I love an anthology, especially one at the end when it all is connected somehow. Have you seen this one?
• 37:44
  Speaker B: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
• 37:45
Speaker G: Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I have to watch this every year because it's got the vibes. It's got Sam in it. I've got his little lollipop. I mean, it's just so good. And that's being re. Released in theaters. I saw next week.
• 37:58
  Speaker B: Didn't know that.
• 37:59
Speaker G: In like 4k or something. So I might see if I can catch that on the big screen because that would be really cool. Have not seen Trick or treat from the 80s, but that is on my watch list.
• 38:10
Speaker B: That was like the rock and roll one, right?
• 38:12
Speaker G: Yes. Like, yeah. Is Ozzy in that?
• 38:16
Speaker B: Like, yeah, I think I'm almost positive. It's like, yeah, I think, like, Ozzy's in it. But it was like. Like Mark Price, I think, was the actor. He. He played Skippy on Family Ties.
• 38:26
  Speaker G: Oh, fabulous.
• 38:27
Speaker B: I think that's the one that I'm thinking of. But he was like a metalhead that was like, you know, peak satanic panic where, like, all they had to do was be like, it's got metal music. And parents were like, oh, my God. And then all the kids were like, yeah, I want to see that.
• 38:45
Speaker G: Yes. Oh, my gosh. I love it.
• 38:47
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 38:47
Speaker G: Yeah, that's definitely on my watch list because it's got all the things that are up my alley.
• 38:51
Speaker B: So, yeah, it's definitely, you know, it's super kitschy and schlocky and I mean, I haven't seen that movie in probably 35 years. But, like, I have fond memories of it. When it first came out with my cutoff jean jacket that had, like a Judas Priest backpatch on it, you know?
• 39:07
Speaker G: Yes. Bring that back, Andy.
• 39:11
Speaker B: Yeah, I look a little weird. No, actually, no, fuck it.
• 39:14
  Speaker D: I'd do it.
• 39:16
Speaker B: I could pull it off.
• 39:18
Speaker G: Yes, you could. Absolutely. It's all state of mind.
• 39:21
  Speaker B: Yeah, for sure.
• 39:22
Speaker G: And then for your. Your experts listeners, I've got a few of my favorite found footage movies, because that's my. I think that's my favorite genre of horror because I feel like I'm just right in the action. It's like in my face. I can't look away. So I've got Grave Encounters, which actually just got announced that they're going to remake it here soon with Justin Long.
• 39:47
Speaker B: Oh, I like him.
• 39:48
Speaker G: Who love him so much. But the original Grave Encounters, it starts off as a mockumentary of, like, ghost adventures. You're definitely getting that vibe. But then there's a turn in the middle where it gets super scary, super terrifying, and it's. It's so much fun. And these next two are also kind of in the same vein. Ganjium Haunted Asylum. This could be the scariest movie I've ever seen, other than the Exorcist. I will say anything that has to do with exorcisms, that's my expert level.
• 40:21
  Speaker A: All right.
• 40:22
Speaker G: I was raised Catholic and I feel like I could get possessed by a demon, but I digress. Ganjium Haunted Asylum. I think it's. I want to say it's Korean, so there are subtitles, but not a whole lot, because once they get into the haunted asylum, there's not. Not much talking, just more terrifying ghosts and demons and everything. It's. Oh, my gosh. There's some imagery that I cannot erase from my brain, but I highly recommend it. It's fabulous. And then Hell House llc, this is also a franchise. I think the first one is the best one. The other ones are okay, but the first one, they've got clowns in it. Need I say more?
• 41:05
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 41:07
Speaker G: Have you seen Hell House?
• 41:09
Speaker B: That's. Yes. Out of the three expert ones, that's the one. Have seen I have. I. I will. I. You know, the. The Korean film I've definitely heard of. And same with Grave Encounters, but Grave Encounters, I'm going to add to my list for this season. Like, I don't go 31 for 31 because I just don't have that kind of time, but I do. But I do go just as much spooky. As many scary movies as. As humanly possible. So.
• 41:35
  Speaker G: Right.
• 41:36
Speaker B: I'll add that in.
• 41:37
Speaker G: Yes. Grave Encounters. That director, his name is Stuart Ortiz, and he just came out with a movie called Strange Harvest. And that was really spooky, too. Another found footage movie about a serial killer named Mr. Shiny. And that really spooked me. That was really scary. But Hell House, they go to this abandoned hotel, and some they're opening up their own haunted house. But there's some spooky stuff going on, especially in the basement, which you never want to go to. We all know this, right? Like, and then the creepy clowns that are like, you know, lifelike with blood dripping down their eyes, the dark eyes. And then the haunting little piano music in it. I just. I love it so much. But yes, those are this for more the expert level, if you feel like really dipping your toes into the macabre.
• 42:37
Speaker B: What did you think of that? Do you see that movie Haunt?
• 42:41
Speaker G: Yes, I love Haunts.
• 42:43
Speaker B: That was one of those that, like, caught me so off guard. Like, I was just like, you know, browsing through shutter. I think it was like, during the pandemic or something and was just like, I was. And holy shit, that movie was good. And I was like, this movie is going to blow up and everybody's going to know about it. And it kind of didn't. It's like, still like a. A slightly hidden gem, but, like.
• 43:06
Speaker G: Yeah, it's slowly gotten traction over the years. I love anything that goes to, like, a haunted house like that. Yeah, it's so claustrophobic. It's bizarre.
• 43:18
Speaker B: And so much of it, like, is this happening or is this not like. Not even as, like, the viewer, but, like, as the, you know, the characters are.
• 43:26
  Speaker G: Yeah.
• 43:26
Speaker B: You can kind of empathize with them not understanding, like, is this really happening or like, what is.
• 43:31
Speaker G: You know, it makes you think twice about going to any haunted attractions.
• 43:37
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 43:37
Speaker G: But I do love that one. I think that did come out around the pandemic, which another one that came out around that time was Host.
• 43:43
Speaker B: Oh, I love. That was the one, like, all zoom meeting. Yes, yes, that one was fan fantastic. And the way, like, an hour was. Yeah, I think it was like 72 minutes or something like that. Like, very short and sweet and really, really, like, scary. But well done. Like.
• 44:03
Speaker G: Yes, yes, absolutely. Like, it went there. Yeah.
• 44:08
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 44:09
Speaker G: That's one of my. Become one of my comfort horror films. I can just turn it on the background Because I know it's gonna happen. I've seen it so many times. But that's another good one for your listeners to check out. That would be more. I feel like that'd be in the moderate category, I believe.
• 44:22
  Speaker F: Yes.
• 44:23
Speaker B: Yeah, they'd probably go moderate, but.
• 44:24
Speaker G: And you know, there's, there's also a lot of great horror shorts out there on YouTube, so if you have like you know, 15, 20 minutes. I actually just watched one today called Pumpkin Guts and that was really good. It had an 80s vibe to it, a Cynthia soundtrack, but really well done. So that was about 15 minutes. There is one on, on YouTube that's an hour long called Milk and Cereal, which blew up last year and that. This was a couple of this YouTube guys. And this year they came out with a full length feature film called Obsession and Focus Features just bought it for $15 million.
• 45:10
  Speaker A: The.
• 45:10
  Speaker B: Which is good.
• 45:12
  Speaker A: Wild.
• 45:13
Speaker G: Oh yeah. I'm like, that is so wild. Like, yeah, that's like the dream. So. And it's happening for them. So. But, but Milk and Cereal is a fun one. It, it kind of reminds me of Creep, if you've ever seen that with Mark Duplass. I love Creep too. It has that kind of vibe to it, but it's another good one. But those are, those are my recommendations for now because, you know, I could go on and on forever.
• 45:41
Speaker B: Well, it was super cool to, to talk to you because like I said, I've been, you know, following you for a while and, and watching your reviews and, and I really dig it. And then I started listening to, to Horror Sanctum and it's like opened up this, this whole new world. So I was telling one of my guests that was here earlier, I'm like, yeah, you know, I get to talk to Lainey Delphier. And I'm like. And, and I feel like, like I'm a fan, you know, I'm a fan. I'm not just like talking to someone.
• 46:05
Speaker G: So like so much.
• 46:08
Speaker B: But if you, if you ever want to, you know, check, check back in with any, any spooky recommendations, I, I would love to have you on.
• 46:15
  Speaker A: I would love.
• 46:16
Speaker B: Outside of Spooky season, you know, Like.
• 46:18
Speaker G: I would love that.
• 46:19
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 46:19
Speaker G: If you're, if your listeners are down, I'd love to pop in every now and then and maybe give what I'm watching something new.
• 46:26
Speaker B: Yeah, we could, we could absolutely, you know, we could do that because it's my show and I can do whatever I want.
• 46:32
  Speaker G: Yeah. Hell yes.
• 46:33
  Speaker C: I love that.
• 46:34
Speaker B: We will absolutely do that. And we'll we'll stay in touch. But Lena, I want to thank you again so much for the recommendations. Like, I'm personally going to take your advice probably this evening. I think I will watch at least one one of those this evening.
• 46:49
Speaker G: And yes, yes, thank you so much for having me. It's been an honor to be here.
• 46:53
  Speaker F: Awesome.
• 46:54
Speaker B: Thank you so much.
• 46:55
  Speaker G: Thank you.
• 46:59
Speaker B: All right. Awesome. That was my conversation with Leno Delfier. And again, check her out on Instagram. She's really cool and I'm sure is going to be poking back in here throughout the year with some recommendations because it's our show and we can do whatever we want.
• 47:14
  Speaker D: Right.
• 47:14
Speaker B: You know, so we're going to do some more music now and this one is a Halloween song and actually this episode is dropping on a Thursday and this song is actually coming out today, so it is still technically a premiere. But this is from the band Watch Reggie Run. And you know, you may or may not know like. And you know, I do know the, the family. And but this is all public information because on the Spotify page is that. So Rory, who works at, at Metroland, she's the editor. Watch Reggie Run is her dad and her brother. And Reggie is actually Rory and she used to run, you know, like track and field.
• 48:01
  Speaker D: Yeah.
• 48:01
Speaker B: So like, Watch Reggie Run is an activity of going to watch, you know, Rory run. But her nickname was Reggie.
• 48:10
  Speaker D: That's awesome.
• 48:11
Speaker B: Yeah. Really cool. But so, yeah, Watch Reggie Run is definitely family friendly stuff. They, they do, they do a lot of, you know, because they've got Christmas songs and, you know, Halloween songs. They're just regular songs they perform, you know, they're again, a father and son duo. They're really fun. But is there any, anything that you want to, want to throw in?
• 48:36
Speaker D: I don't know. Like I said, like you were saying, it's a family friendly. So if you're the kind of folks that throw up some songs, you know, on the porch while you're handing out candy, this is definitely something that you can throw in the playlist that you can just be confident that is not going to offend or scare anybody and just must be fun to listen to. So, you know, so that being said, so this is from Watch Reggie Run and this track is my only friends, the Skeleton.
• 49:13
Speaker H: I went to a party in Transylvania, you stayed home and I can't blame you When I walked in they laughed at me not rose up just like a tree Dracula tried to bite my neck I turned and shouted what the heck? Zombies said they'd eat My brain so I ran out into the rain I wasn't feeling welcome here Then from the graveyard they appeared Once again I'm hanging with my only friends the skeletons the skinniest dudes you've ever seen they only come out on Halloween Once again I'm hanging with my only friends the skeletons they're always nice, never mean I see them every Halloween I waved hello to the mummy but he sure wasn't very chummy I saw the werewolf so I howled he shook his head and he just scowled Frankenstein's monster knocked me down and told me that I was a clown the witches tried to cast a spell and lock me in the dungeon cell I wasn't feeling welcome here Then from the graveyard they appeared When I'm hanging with my only friends Skeletons the skinniest dudes you've ever seen they only come out on Halloween Once again I'm hanging with my only friends Skeletons they're always nice and never me I see them every how long I made some small talk with a ghoul he told me I was a fool Then I mingled with the ghosts but all they did was brag and boast Some angry trolls threatened me and kicked me right behind the knee A goblin spit food in my face and said that I should leave this place I wasn't feeling welcome here and from the graveyard they appeared Once again I'm hanging with my only friends the skeletons the skinniest dudes you've ever seen they only come out on Halloween Once again I'm hanging with my only friend the skeletons they're always nice, never mean I see them every.
• 52:44
  Speaker A: Halloween.
• 52:49
Speaker H: I see them every Halloween.
• 52:56
  Speaker A: I.
• 52:56
Speaker H: See them every Halloween.

Speaker D: All right, that was my only friends, the skeletons from Watch Reggie Run and It is that time. Even though this is not technically the weekend spotlight, that does not mean we are gonna slack in any way of dealing with one of the best things to ever happen to local music in the 518 and beyond. So we are still checking in with our band show for the spooky season in this episode. So, guys, what is going on this week with our band show?
• 53:32
Speaker F: Thank you BJ and welcome in to our band show. Yes, we're back for another fantastic week of this spotlight. Patrick W. Huber here. And as producer director of the show, I am extremely happy to promote some upcoming work from one of our previous guests. Wars have been won on the backs of elephants and this husband and wife team have been highly productive when it comes to recording their songs. This creative duo is called Elephant. Back at the Time Sarah and Dave were on our show, they had just released their double album, the White and Black albums respectively. These were recorded in the most amazing studios in the US and uk. While the White Album is steeped in a singer, songwriter vibe, the Black Album is a rocker celebrating different eras of rock ranging from the 1960s to today. There's a lot of sounds crammed into such a short album. Elephant Back dedicated to recording quality of these albums. They went as far as to travel to Abbey Road Studios to record two of the songs off of their White Album.
• 54:43
Speaker I: Started from the beginning.
• 54:44
Speaker A: Are you going to start?
• 54:45
Speaker B: Well, yeah, we could start it from the beginning. I guess it was around Valentine's Day.
• 54:51
Speaker I: It was Valentine's Day, yeah.
• 54:53
Speaker B: And I wrote a song for her and it just happened to be called Let It Be. And I'm like, what are we, what are we doing here?
• 55:02
Speaker I: When we started planning. This is also ties into the honeymoon stories. Like when we started planning, like what do we want to do? Like oh yeah, it'd be really cool if we took that song and we brought it to Abbey Rose Code and we recorded it there and we're like.
• 55:15
Speaker E: Haha, wouldn't that be funny?
• 55:16
Speaker I: Wouldn't that be funny?
• 55:17
Speaker B: And then Miss Girl, that makes things happen.
• 55:20
Speaker I: I just sent some emails and they. They checked out our music. Yeah, there's a whole process and then they're like, okay, you're booked, pay us.
• 55:30
  Speaker G: Yeah, so.
• 55:31
Speaker B: So we booked Abbey Road.
• 55:33
  Speaker I: Yeah, two days.
• 55:34
Speaker B: It was an amazing experience.
• 55:36
Speaker I: Two days and two songs. So Let It Be and you and Me were both recorded at. At Abby Road.
• 55:43
Speaker B: We'll be playing that one next.
• 55:44
Speaker I: But yep, we recorded the first day, everything, all the tracks for all the songs. The next day we went in and just did some like little final touches and then they mixed the whole both songs for us and then we shot a video for you and me while they were finishing up mixing.
• 56:03
Speaker B: Check it out on YouTube.
• 56:04
Speaker I: Yes, definitely check it out on YouTube. And yeah, Abbey Road's amazing.
• 56:07
Speaker F: Very awesome to record at such a famous studio in the uk. I can only imagine what an experience that really was. And if you want a little more background on that, definitely check out the interview portion of our live stream with them. They go into a little bit of details of their studio experience as they were creating these albums. Elephant Back has charmed their way into our hearts with their intense dedication of their craft and their overall approach to producing music. This is why we have chosen Bad Love, performed live by Sarah and Dave on our band show as this week's weekend Spotlight.
• 57:14
Speaker A: In the beginning yeah Right from the start I should have known by your smile Girl, you tear me apart oh, no I thought I'd lived long enough to learn a thing or two but the bus only takes you so far till you have to choose Waited so long and I'm so tired Taking so long and I'm on fire I'm on fire girl Take me home, take me home take me home, my bad love Take me home, take me home take me home, my bad love Take me home, take me home, my bad love Take me home, take me home, my bad love yeah have a look on your face as you walk through the door yeah Hit the cold cement as you say you want more when does it stop? As always, we look forward to rocking out with you and we're going to send it back to BJ to keep this spotlight moving.
• 1:00:59
Speaker D: All right, thanks a lot, guys. Really appreciate it. It that was our band show. Now remember, you can always check them out on Facebook, Instagram, you can check them out on YouTube. That's my preferred thing is you can just head there and see what they're doing. And don't forget our band show dot com. That being said, and moving forward, Andy, are we getting into the.
• 1:01:17
Speaker B: Yeah, we're getting back into another segment and this one is really cool. So there's, you know, a bunch of different markets around. Around, like the. The nightmare market and there's the merciless metal market. And actually I was watching. I had been following agony the Clown. Just because, you know, scary clown.
• 1:01:38
Speaker D: Oh, yeah. And like, you do, you know.
• 1:01:40
Speaker B: Yeah. And I'm like, this guy's great. But it started when I was watching a video, and it was the Merciless Metal market Instagram, and Agony was walking in there, and I saw my buddy Maddie from Nerdy by Nature Nature in the video, and I was like, oh, this is really cool. And I just got this click where I was like, I wonder if I can just invite Agony up to my house to come to the Dazzle Den and record an episode of the podcast. So right then and there, I sent him a. Sent him a message on Instagram, you know, kind of like told him who I was and was like, you know, I'm doing some Halloween themed stuff, you know, for. For my episodes, because I'm a. I'm a spooky kid. And. And he was like, yeah, yeah, that's awesome. And can't, you know, he came up and we did a segment. I. I did video that as well. So I'll probably put that up, you know, on YouTube or Instagram, put the full interview up. But yeah, I had had Agony here in the Dazzle, then did a full interview and then at the Nightmare Market, which I was there with you and Angela up and my wife Katie, and we ran into Agony and we, you know, shot the. With a man. And I don't know if you saw the video that he posted. Yeah, of. Of that whole interaction, which I didn't realize was being filmed, but it was really cool and it was cool to like, to meet him and I, I definitely feel like I'm gonna be trying to, like, link up with him from time to time just because I really like his vibe. His whole clan were super friendly and I, I really like what he's doing. I like what they're doing. He's super talented and. Yeah. So I, I can't say enough good things about Agony the Clown. And also on next Halloween episode, next week's I hope to have a conversation with the founders of the Nightmare Markets.
• 1:03:34
  Speaker D: Nice.
• 1:03:34
Speaker B: So that'll. That'll be a segment to look forward to because that's. That was cool. Like, I really liked the Nightmare Market that was on, you know, J Street and like State street there and Schenectady. Like, it was. Oh, man, it was awesome. It was like, just.
• 1:03:49
Speaker D: Dude, it was great to be traveling with you, man. Like, I would have gotten lost. I had gotten far too stoned and I was really old because before.
• 1:03:59
Speaker B: Jesus, can I just be doing it? Be open about it so like, we went to Capital District Cannabis and Wellness, had a harvest fest, and my friend Sammy Sativa had, you know, invited me to stop by. And it was in Schenectady. It was nearby. So we went there, and holy, did she ply us with some weed. Right. And for the record, neither of us were driving. We did have a completely 100 sober driver, but, like, oh, my God. Munching edibles and, like, bunk hits and joints and just, like, vape pens and just, like, so much stuff. And when we went to the Nightmare Market, like, I was, like, in my fucking element. I was, like, as happy as I could possibly be. And I look over at BJ and he looks scared.
• 1:04:48
Speaker D: I really don't smoke or partake a whole lot. I mean, I do semi regularly, but so I'm like, all right, Swinghammer, be cool.
• 1:04:55
  Speaker A: Don't.
• 1:04:55
Speaker D: Okay? Just wander into it and just pace yourself. And no. Like, I took one edible, took one hit off of Monster Joint, and then I was like, oh, no.
• 1:05:06
  Speaker C: Oh, no.
• 1:05:07
Speaker D: I have to be an adult.
• 1:05:08
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:05:09
Speaker B: And I was like, more, more, more. Let's go.
• 1:05:11
Speaker D: But when I met, it was really funny. Like, we had been making our way around, and I met Agony, and he was so cool, and he, like, put me at ease, which never happens.
• 1:05:19
  Speaker A: Right, right.
• 1:05:19
Speaker B: The scary. And I was clown made you feel.
• 1:05:21
Speaker D: Like I look like an idiot. Then he was like, hey, what's going on, man? Oh, hey.
• 1:05:24
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 1:05:25
Speaker D: And then, like, we get done with that, and you're like, all right, it's time to go. And I'm like, ah, of course.
• 1:05:28
Speaker B: Yeah, Right, right. And also, did you see the Art the Clown? I mean, you saw. Oh, I got my picture with him. That Art the Clown was good.
• 1:05:35
  Speaker D: Yeah, that was.
• 1:05:36
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:05:36
Speaker B: Like. And I mean, I'm a big Terrifier fan and, like, being, like, face to face, you know, with knowing that it's not like David Howard Thornton, that it's a cosplay. I was like, holy. Like, you could have fooled me. Like, it was. It was really good, man. Really like that. So, yeah, Nightmare market.
• 1:05:55
Speaker D: There was so much going on and it was so busy, but it was so great to see that many people gathering together for the season.
• 1:06:04
  Speaker B: Weirdos.
• 1:06:05
  Speaker D: Yeah.
• 1:06:05
  Speaker B: And do weird.
• 1:06:06
Speaker D: You can just be yourself, you know, around other weirdos. It's fantastic.
• 1:06:09
Speaker B: Yeah, I love it. All right, so with that said said, let's check out my conversation with Agony the Clown. He came up to the Dazzle Den and we talk about, you know, clowning and stuff like that, and also some horror movies. And so we'll check that out and then we'll be right back. All right, welcome back. I am here with a very special guest I have with me, Agony the Clown. How are you, sir?
• 1:06:36
Speaker C: I'm doing very well, thank you, sir. How are you?
• 1:06:38
  Speaker A: You?
• 1:06:38
Speaker B: I'm fantastic. I want to thank you for coming out. I was saying how, you know, I been following you on Instagram. I love your content. And just the other day while I was looking at something, I was like, you know what, I'm just going to ask him if he'll come to my podcast. And the worst he can say is no. And I asked. And less than a week later, here we are.
• 1:07:00
Speaker C: It's my pleasure to be here.
• 1:07:01
Speaker B: Yeah, it's awesome. So I guess just tell the folks a little bit about, about yourself because, you know, we, we got talking a little bit before we were rolling and there's a lot of interesting things that I want to, that I want to hit on.
• 1:07:14
Speaker C: Okay. Well, originally, before I started clowning, I was, I'm a mask and prop maker. I'm based out of the Capital District. I, I grew up in Schenectady. I live in Saratoga now. I started, so I started making masks and prop, started getting very successful selling horror character art from busts of like Pennywise the Clown to latex mass of Eddie from Iron Maiden. First and foremost, before I even started doing all that, I was a metalhead, crazy metalhead. I sang in the metal band for years and years. I don't want to say how many years to give away my.
• 1:07:59
Speaker B: And you know, other than, or actually, you know, before we move on from the mask, because I just out of curiosity, because I've been thinking like, in making a mask, how do you go like, is it a mold that you make or do you.
• 1:08:14
Speaker C: First I start on an armature. It's usually a human head sized armature and I add clay to it.
• 1:08:20
  Speaker B: Okay.
• 1:08:20
Speaker C: And I block that clay out until I start seeing the shapes that I want to see. And then I, you know, I move that mud around on that armature until it starts looking like what I want to see. After I get the sculpt ready, I, I seal the clay with a, a sealant and then I put a latex, uh, plaster all over it, uh, actually make a, a wall on one side of the, um, of the mass. If I'm making an over the head mass mask and I, I make a two sided mold out of plaster. After the, the mold cures, I crack the mold open, clean it all out, take the clay out and then I add rubber to it and seam it and there's just. It's a long detailed process, but that's how I basically do it.
• 1:09:11
Speaker B: So you can literally just make any face, any. Anything, Anything that you can imagine? Well, you know, you could just this face but with a lot more wrinkles and. Well, actually, you know, just been dead 30 years. So like just, just. It'd be like that. The skull, the skull over there on the tv. Dark, dark, dark. No. So I've always wondered that like with the, the making of, of Matt, you know, because I've seen shit like where, you know, you pour latex into something. I've done stuff for Halloween where I apply latex to my own shade ways. Sure. But like you actually are create and like once you have that mold, like is that something you can recreate?
• 1:09:53
  Speaker E: Yeah.
• 1:09:54
Speaker C: Most of the molds that I've made of mass, I've done runs of like 25, 30 mass per mold. After that, I usually destroy the mold. What it does is it increases the value of the mass because the mask can't be made anymore.
• 1:10:07
Speaker B: Right, right. And being that it's that one of a kind, with every little stroke, every.
• 1:10:12
Speaker C: Press, every, every mask. Mask is unique in, in a, in a way, even though they all might look the same up on the shelf, there's a little, little difference in every single one of them. It's because it's made by a human, a clown.
• 1:10:26
Speaker B: Right. Well, that's same thing. Tomato, tomato. So you know, you go, you were just like in Salem and did you go out to Salem just because that's where you people are.
• 1:10:38
  Speaker C: That's basically.
• 1:10:39
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 1:10:40
Speaker C: You feel called go out there.
• 1:10:42
  Speaker E: Yeah.
• 1:10:42
Speaker C: There's other buskers out there. I had fun messing with them and calling them names and. But they, they never break character. So.
• 1:10:50
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I saw the Michael Myers one.
• 1:10:53
Speaker C: I guess that guy's the, the, the Michael Myers too, from what I understand. Everybody's telling me, oh, you were, you were messing with a real famous Michael Myers.
• 1:11:02
Speaker B: So I guess like a movie Michael Myers or just like famous since he's.
• 1:11:07
Speaker C: Famous on Tick Tock making videos with his wife. Yeah.
• 1:11:10
Speaker B: Because I mean those, there's some legit. Like I have a bunch of pictures from. I think it was two years ago that I went like, you know, the leather face and like. Yeah, yeah, really good man.
• 1:11:21
Speaker C: Like it's where Halloween lives. Yeah.
• 1:11:23
Speaker B: There was one even. It was a. I got a picture of her, she was like, I don't know, a seven or eight year old girl who had her Face done up like a zombie. And like it was unsettling to look at, you know, I was like, that is really. And her parents are like standing there beaming with pride.
• 1:11:40
Speaker C: Wonderful. Those are good parents. Yeah, totally.
• 1:11:42
Speaker B: Like starting a very young. She was literally like 7 years old and terrifying.
• 1:11:47
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:11:48
Speaker B: Lean right into it.
• 1:11:50
  Speaker A: So.
• 1:11:50
Speaker B: And then around here, you know, there's stuff going on. Nightmare Market. I'm not sure if this episode will air before it. When.
• 1:11:59
Speaker C: When is the Nightmare market is Saturday, October 8th.
• 1:12:04
Speaker B: Yeah, we might make it in. Maybe I'll. Maybe I'll. Because like I said, I kind of just focus on Halloween content during October. Yeah, maybe I'll get it in before.
• 1:12:13
Speaker C: That is a blast. I mean, if you've never been, you should go. It is something to see.
• 1:12:18
Speaker B: Let's talk a little bit about that. And then you had something coming up the. The weekend after which this episode will definitely be out for. So Nightmare Market, you know, are you just there to. To make. Mingle and.
• 1:12:30
Speaker C: Basically, yeah, I just go there enjoying the atmosphere, taking pictures with people dancing, listening.
• 1:12:37
  Speaker A: We.
• 1:12:38
Speaker C: We pump some serious metal out of. I. I have a little baby carriage that I push around with. My daughter rides around in it with me. And it's. It's a wonderful thing. It's a wonderful thing.
• 1:12:49
Speaker B: And. And you'll be. That's on Saturday night, right?
• 1:12:52
Speaker C: That's on Saturday night, yeah. And then street.
• 1:12:55
Speaker B: And then after that, you said you had something to do with, with your art.
• 1:13:00
Speaker C: Yeah. There's the thing called the, the Dark Echo Expo, and that is in Albany and that is October 24th and 25th. The doors open at 6pm on October 24th on Friday, and the doors open at noon on the 25th on Saturday. And there's going to be some horror, horror movies playing there. There's going to be a director of the horror movies that are playing. That's going to be there. Actors from the horror movies are going to be there. And there's going to be metal, lots of live, good, live metal music is going to be there. And I'm going to be displaying my art for the first time in the capital district there. So it's. It's going to be wonderful. I've made some very dark, dark, very evil, very, very cool things.
• 1:13:52
  Speaker B: That's awesome.
• 1:13:53
  Speaker F: And.
• 1:13:53
Speaker B: And what? Where was that at?
• 1:13:55
Speaker C: That is at Empire Live in Albany.
• 1:13:57
  Speaker F: Oh, okay.
• 1:13:58
Speaker B: Yeah, I love Empire Live. I just saw Descendants there a couple weeks ago. Sick. So you'll be there showing your art and everybody else will be there and.
• 1:14:07
Speaker C: Almost like a Horicon it's, it's almost like a Horicon. A lot of the people that are involved with that are involved in, in the Albany punk rock flea market, the metal mayhem market in Troy. This community that I've come together with is just so amazing. Everybody's so nice. They're like, we're all freaks. I mean by nature, all of us, we love horror movies. We love, you know, weird obscure things and oddities and curiosities. But nicest, nicest people you could ever meet. Give you the shirt off their back.
• 1:14:43
Speaker B: Yeah. I always say that, you know, the, the people that make the, the darkest art are usually the nicest people.
• 1:14:49
  Speaker C: It's so true.
• 1:14:50
Speaker B: It really, really is. There's hardly any, you know, there's hardly any in, in horror. But then like, you look in comedy and like everybody's a dick.
• 1:15:00
Speaker C: It's true. The, the guy in the three piece suit.
• 1:15:03
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 1:15:03
Speaker C: Is the jerk. Yeah, almost always.
• 1:15:05
Speaker B: And the guy's making, you know, I mean, look at like, I don't know, like Terrifier, for instance.
• 1:15:10
  Speaker C: Absolutely.
• 1:15:11
Speaker B: You know that, that whole crew are just like the nice. I've met a couple people that.
• 1:15:16
Speaker C: That is an amazing, amazing film franchise. Yeah, I love it.
• 1:15:21
Speaker B: Me too. And it's made by really awesome people.
• 1:15:24
Speaker C: Who love horror, who love. Know what we want to see. I want to see that.
• 1:15:28
Speaker B: Yeah. And actually let's, let's let roll into horror movies like, because speaking of terrifier, like the thing that caught me off guard with that was not only, you know, like I knew it was going to be like over the top. Like everybody was like, oh, it's, it's, you know, whatever. But the first time I saw that, the practical effects.
• 1:15:45
  Speaker C: Right.
• 1:15:45
Speaker B: Is what had me, you know, cuz and they're amazing.
• 1:15:49
Speaker C: Nobody's using them anymore. But what is his name? Damien Leone, I think. Yeah, he's, he's doing it. He's doing it right.
• 1:15:55
Speaker B: He's doing it very well and, and taking it up a notch each.
• 1:15:59
Speaker C: Every movie. It is insane. It's almost unsettling. It really is. And I know it's fake, but it is really, really, really, really unsettling.
• 1:16:09
Speaker B: And I don't know if you've seen. I can't remember. God, I can't remember what his name is. Who plays Art? David Howard Thornton.
• 1:16:17
  Speaker C: Sure.
• 1:16:17
Speaker B: Like he looks like just the most gentle and nicest human being, but.
• 1:16:21
Speaker C: Yeah, he's not. Yeah, no, no, no.
• 1:16:24
Speaker B: Like so many scenes in that.
• 1:16:28
  Speaker A: They.
• 1:16:29
Speaker B: Flipped it like with the, the use of the gun at the end, you know, I Know a lot of people like, oh, that's. But that was unexpected. Sure. And that's good enough for me. You know, I don't need to be like, oh, but a slasher would never. Or a clown would never. Or whatever.
• 1:16:45
Speaker C: There's nothing a clown would never do, believe me.
• 1:16:48
  Speaker A: Right.
• 1:16:48
Speaker B: And it was unexpected, and it caught me off guard, and I was like, holy shit. All right, I'm down with that. Like, yeah, it. It gets mine. Have you seen. What is it in a violent nature?
• 1:17:00
Speaker C: Absolutely, I've seen it. A violent nature.
• 1:17:02
Speaker B: What did you think of that one?
• 1:17:04
Speaker C: I thought it was great. I thought it was really. It was kind of like, shot documentary style, and it was. It looked. I felt like I was watching something I shouldn't see.
• 1:17:14
Speaker B: My. I mean, I loved it too. And I ended up watching it. Like, if you can see above me, there's a screen. Screen that rolls down. And this room is called the Dazzle Den. But when the screen comes down, I call it the Dazzle Plex.
• 1:17:26
  Speaker C: Okay.
• 1:17:27
Speaker B: And basically, the only movies that I show in here are horror movies that are worthy.
• 1:17:32
  Speaker G: Sure.
• 1:17:32
Speaker B: Like, to be seen, you know, gritty, on a. On a screen or whatever. And I've watched that movie in here a few times. The thing I liked about that is that it took expected tropes. Like the scene when the Jeep is coming in with all the characters, right? And, you know, that's when you're meeting. Oh, it's the stoner and the pretty girl and the nerd and the whatever. And you never see the Jeep. The Jeep just fucking drives away and it stays with Johnny the whole time. And that immediately was when I was like, all right, I'm 100% on board with whatever these guys are doing. And then I think it's called the Yo. They call the yoga kill.
• 1:18:13
  Speaker C: Right?
• 1:18:14
Speaker B: That is the most re. Like, I could watch that kill a hundred times. It's still. It's just like, the. The brains to do that. You know what I mean? That's like the most Mortal Kombat kill I've ever seen.
• 1:18:30
Speaker C: It's awesome. It is a very, very, very, very violent movie. I. I just love the way it felt. Yeah, it felt real.
• 1:18:39
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the. The wood chipper. Or not the wood chipper, the wood splitter scene.
• 1:18:46
  Speaker A: Right.
• 1:18:46
Speaker B: Like that, you know? And I guess spoilers for anybody listening, because I'm gonna spoil the. Out of it, because I'm going with, like, how they did it, but the way they went from, like, the dude's real body right. To a mannequin or you know, a dummy, like without you noticing.
• 1:19:03
  Speaker A: Right.
• 1:19:03
Speaker B: And then all they did was, was they CGI'd a blink every once in a while. And I watched that scene 10 times trying to figure out how the they did that. And you can see where there is the change. The way they did it was, I mean, like brilliant. I want to like write essays about it, be like, this is how you kill people in movies.
• 1:19:26
  Speaker C: Right.
• 1:19:27
Speaker B: It was so good. And they're working on a sequel also.
• 1:19:30
Speaker C: Already, as they should be. I mean, they should get more success for sure.
• 1:19:36
Speaker B: And I hope that they go bigger budget and I hope that there's no compromise. You know what I mean? I hope it's still just exactly what he wants to do, but with like.
• 1:19:47
Speaker C: With Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2.
• 1:19:48
Speaker B: Right, right. Just. Now I have money. I'm gonna kind of make kind of the same movie, but. But the way he wants to do it, you know. Sick. What's your go to or what's a Halloween movie recommendation that you would give for this season?
• 1:20:06
Speaker C: I love. We just watched it last night. I love that stupid Hooby Halloween movie, the Adam Sailor movie.
• 1:20:15
  Speaker E: Oh humie.
• 1:20:15
  Speaker A: Halloween.
• 1:20:16
Speaker C: I love that stupid movie. I mean, it's not scary movie, but it's a Halloween movie. I love Trick or Treat.
• 1:20:23
  Speaker A: Treat?
• 1:20:24
Speaker C: The, with the, with the one with Sam. Not the old old Trick or Treat movie, the old.
• 1:20:30
Speaker B: The old trigger. That was the one with like. I was talking about this with someone else. With like Mark Price who played Skippy on Family Ties.
• 1:20:38
  Speaker C: It was.
• 1:20:38
Speaker B: Right. It was like the heavy metal. It was.
• 1:20:40
Speaker C: Yeah, it was the guy who made the pact with Satan. And it was. Yeah, that. That was back in the 80s.
• 1:20:47
Speaker B: Yeah, the satanic panic. Yeah.
• 1:20:50
  Speaker C: And that.
• 1:20:51
Speaker B: And that was like a great idea that was just kind of poorly executed, you know what I mean? Because I remember being excited about that movie being, you know, a 12 year old metalhead or whatever and then being like.
• 1:21:03
Speaker C: And he was just a poser. Yeah, he was just a poser.
• 1:21:07
Speaker B: Skippy from Family Tag. Yeah, those are solid, solid recommendations, man. I actually just a couple months ago, a buddy of mine makes horror movies, movies out of Glens Falls named Frank Polangi. He's made a few features and been like, done a bunch of great, great stuff. I was in a couple of his movies and in one of them I got murdered by a clown.
• 1:21:32
  Speaker C: That's wonderful.
• 1:21:33
Speaker B: Yeah, that's the best kind of person. He held me up in the air by the neck with one hand and then snapped my neck. So, you know, And I still fucking dig clowns. So, you know, even one murdering me couldn't, couldn't, couldn't stop it. Yeah, that's. Actually, we're doing a screening of that movie next week.
• 1:21:56
  Speaker A: Where.
• 1:21:56
Speaker B: At the Strand in Hudson Falls, I think.
• 1:22:01
  Speaker A: Right?
• 1:22:01
  Speaker F: Yeah.
• 1:22:01
Speaker B: Yes, there's a. I have a flyer over there, but yeah, I get to see myself get murdered on the big screen.
• 1:22:08
  Speaker C: That's wonderful.
• 1:22:09
Speaker B: Yeah, I'm very, very excited.
• 1:22:11
  Speaker C: Congratulations.
• 1:22:12
Speaker B: Yeah, I have seen my. Myself kill people on, on the big screen because I was a murderer in his. One of his other movies.
• 1:22:19
  Speaker C: Okay.
• 1:22:19
Speaker B: Yeah, so it's fun. I love doing it. You ever thought about getting into some movies?
• 1:22:27
Speaker C: I would definitely do a movie. Just opportunity hasn't really arisen yet, but I would. I'm open to do a movie, even porno. So just putting that out there.
• 1:22:44
Speaker B: You, you hear it, you heard it here first, everybody. But yeah, if you, if you ever want to, you know, kill anybody on the screen, maybe we could.
• 1:22:53
Speaker C: Maybe we'll get you make that happen.
• 1:22:55
Speaker B: For something like that. That'd be fucking awesome. So is there anything that you. That you want to add before we wrap it up here?
• 1:23:03
Speaker C: No, just, you know, actually I do. I have another thing coming up at Proctor's.
• 1:23:11
  Speaker F: Me.
• 1:23:11
Speaker C: See, I wrote it down. The Nightmare Expo at proctors. It's on January 17, 2026. And it's. I'm gonna just display my art there. There's a. They're gonna be like snake handlers there, freaks. And just, it's, it's really for adults, not like the nightmare market, which is like a family orientated kind of thing on the dark side. This is more for the freaks. Right?
• 1:23:43
Speaker B: This is like the real, the real stuff. Not the, not the, the real, the spectator, the taboo. Yeah, well, you know, if you want like, as that gets closer, you can always come back and promote that.
• 1:23:54
  Speaker C: That sounds wonderful.
• 1:23:56
  Speaker A: I'd love to.
• 1:23:57
Speaker B: And, and yeah, I'd love to, to check that out. I'm, I'm, I'm totally into it anyway, so. Agony the Clown, thank you so much for coming out here doing this.
• 1:24:07
Speaker C: Like I said, it was my pleasure. I totally enjoyed myself. Thank you.
• 1:24:11
Speaker B: Thank you. All right, so that was my conversation with Agony the Clown. And check out Agony on Instagram. He's really good. Great content on there and I just, I again, love the fucking vibe. Just love, love the vibe. So hopefully I'll be doing some more stuff with Agony soon. So I guess we're gonna, gonna close it out with a song. And you know, we were saying, you know you. We were talking about the Eddies, like you were at the Eddies and I was at the Eddies. And that was when we both were kind of saw the Zorbas Trio for the first time.
• 1:24:47
  Speaker A: They.
• 1:24:47
Speaker B: They got up and performed and killed it. And I had never heard of them before, literally that day. And since then, I've had them overheard and had them on the show and got to know them. And they're really great, really, really talented, talented folks. But they have a Halloween song aptly called the Halloween Song. So I think. Think we're gonna play the Halloween song. And you wanna. You wanna introduce this one?
• 1:25:20
Speaker D: I do. You know, I love. It's kind of my thing. All right, so once again, this from Zorba's trio. And this is. Is the Halloween song.
• 1:26:15
Speaker A: Should I run or simply hide? Why can't I see what's inside? What's inside? I hear voices call to me I believe it's Halloween and shadows dance under the moon I think I hear them sing a tune and sing a tune what's inside that room? This the witch's life make you freeze right in your tracks this life you have will not last Will not last Ghost symbols run rapid here Hands feeling crushed with fear Screams are heard throughout the night Hallows even be such a fright Such a fright Better head on back Halloween if you can fall asleep Maybe you should treat Halloween Halloz Won't you come and walk with me? Talk with me? You're missing all the fun Halloween Hallow. I see that you may disagree the red le is falling down I think it's time to look Halloween hallow Won't you go and play with me? Me, stay with me.
• 1:29:07
Speaker D: All right. And that was the Halloween Song by Zorus Trio. And I think that's rounding it out, isn't it?
• 1:29:13
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 1:29:14
Speaker D: That is quickly coming to a.
• 1:29:15
Speaker B: For. For this episode, I do have the the Makings of of Part two that'll be coming out next Thursday. And so far, it's looking like we have a crazy good show. Like as good or better than this one. Certainly more local music, more local segments, and I hope everybody checks it out. And. I don't know. Happy Halloween.
• 1:29:42
Speaker D: Yeah. I hope you haven't had as much fun listening to this is. We had fun making it because the Dazzle Den is a magical, wonderful place.
• 1:29:50
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 1:29:50
Speaker D: And. Yeah. I don't think anybody can really be in a bad mood.
• 1:29:54
Speaker B: No, it's not allowed in the dazzle.
• 1:29:55
  Speaker A: It's not. It's not. It's not.
• 1:29:57
