- 0:56You're already taking the first step. just by
- 1:00joining us here today. Well I mean I'm looking
- 1:03at what we're doing in March and the what is
- 1:06it the first real week of March we're going to
- 1:08be in Salt Lake City and we're actually staying
- 1:11in a friend's Airbnb about 17 minutes from the
- 1:13host hotel because we're taking our whole family
- 1:15we're pulling them out of school week early taking
- 1:17the whole family we're taking our dog we're all
- 1:20going to be there and then the second week is
- 1:22the kids spring break and so we're going to stay
- 1:24there in Salt Lake we're going to hang out there
- 1:26if we want to leave early we can. because we
- 1:30don't need to be back for the rest of that week.
- 1:32So we have the freedom now that Jason and I are
- 1:35full -time real estate to make those decisions
- 1:37as we go. And then in the third week, of course
- 1:40the kids will be back in school, but I'm speaking
- 1:42at an event in Dallas that's gonna be the 19th,
- 1:4520th and 21st at the IMN. So it's the middle
- 1:48market IMN conference and I'll be there for that.
- 1:52And then the following like that Thursday is
- 1:55my next, it's this summer right here, the 23rd,
- 1:5724th, 25th. And then the last week we're taking
- 2:00off. Because that's four weeks of crazy and I'm
- 2:04taking the last week off, but we wouldn't have
- 2:08the ability to have a March like that if we didn't
- 2:11have some time freedom, some financial freedom.
- 2:15It's geographic freedom that that March this
- 2:18March would not be possible without those three
- 2:20things. Yeah, and huge props to you and Jason
- 2:23for continuing to stay the course. Was it easy
- 2:25to get to this part? No. Are you starting to
- 2:28experience it? Yes. Will you experience it even
- 2:31more of it as you keep climbing the steps? No
- 2:33question in my mind. It's kind of like me, right?
- 2:36In a few weeks, I fly from Australia back to
- 2:39Canada for some real estate meetings. Then I've
- 2:41got a mastermind that I'm hosting in Cancun that
- 2:44then takes me from Cancun back to Vancouver for
- 2:47real estate meetings, and then off to Salt Lake
- 2:49for the best ever with Joe Fairless. and all
- 2:51of my other peeps, as well as you and Jason.
- 2:53So I don't say that to beat on my chest. It's
- 2:56just to say that, you know what? Real estate
- 2:58coaching consulting have really afforded me a
- 3:02unique lifestyle that a lot of people would,
- 3:04I think, love to move towards. And that then
- 3:08takes us to number four of the five freedoms,
- 3:10which is something that I call freedom to impact.
- 3:14Right. Freedom to impact. Because once you've
- 3:16got a little bit of financial freedom, time freedom
- 3:19and geographical freedom, You can use some of
- 3:21your time to go make the world a better place.
- 3:23You could go do some charity work, some mission
- 3:26work. You could work on something that is important
- 3:29or near and dear to your heart. But it's really
- 3:31where we understand that the secret to living
- 3:33is giving and that financial freedom, time freedom
- 3:36and the ability to go do it anywhere in the U
- 3:38.S. or for that matter, anywhere internationally
- 3:41is available to people that play real estate
- 3:44at a higher level. What do you think of that
- 3:45one? Yeah, no, that's that's something that we
- 3:48wanted to do, too. our ultimate goal is to be
- 3:51able to leave enough for our girls to only have
- 3:53to love their brother because Anson has a rare
- 3:55disease, but in our efforts to do that we also
- 3:58want to have a foundation that supports families
- 4:00affected by rare diseases and that is because
- 4:03we want to have an impact and we want to do some
- 4:05kind of work that benefits others besides ourselves
- 4:08and we want our girls to see that too and to
- 4:10be a part of that so that they get to see what
- 4:12it's like to experience the joy of helping others
- 4:14because there is absolutely a joy in helping
- 4:17others. How cool is that and huge props to you
- 4:20and Jason and the girls and Anson, because again,
- 4:23it's available to all of us, right? The question
- 4:26is, are you going to lean into number four, which
- 4:28then takes us to the fifth and final one of the
- 4:30five freedoms, which is what I call freedom of
- 4:34relationships. Freedom of relationships, not
- 4:37freedom from. but freedom of where angel, we
- 4:41get to put ourselves out there and surround ourselves
- 4:43with like minded entrepreneurs, like minded business
- 4:47owners, like minded real estate investors, like
- 4:50minded people that are into personal growth,
- 4:53and Tony Robbins, or rich dad, poor dad, or think
- 4:56and grow rich. Because again, most of America,
- 5:00no offense, most people can't even spell personal
- 5:03growth, or they think personal development is,
- 5:05you know, doing something else. And it's really
- 5:09a correlation that I've studied year over year
- 5:11over year with Tony, and with all of my clients
- 5:14that the clients that do personal coaching, or
- 5:17have mentors, or have accountability buddies,
- 5:20tend to, you know, step up into bigger, higher,
- 5:23faster, better peer groups, right. And you might
- 5:25find it on a one on one basis, you might find
- 5:28a coach, a teacher, a mentor, a trainer, a facilitator,
- 5:32go to conferences. But if there's one thing that
- 5:35I say about number five, is once you start getting
- 5:38a taste of it, and you start to maybe choose
- 5:41your peer group more carefully than just defaulting
- 5:44to whoever you've been spending time with, which
- 5:47oftentimes is family, and it's not easy to leave
- 5:49family. But I'm not saying leave them. I'm just
- 5:52saying don't spend as much time with them. You
- 5:54start to step into people that pull you up. and
- 5:57you pull up yourself and again that high tide
- 6:00lifts all boats so before you jump in on that
- 6:03one let's recap because all of the five freedoms
- 6:05are as follows number one i know you're after
- 6:08financial freedom number two i know you're after
- 6:12time freedom number three i know you'd love geographical
- 6:16freedom number four is that freedom to impact
- 6:19and yes number five is that freedom to surround
- 6:22yourself with people like angel williams jason
- 6:25williams joe ferales you know, Tyler Chess or
- 6:28Dan Hanford. I mean, the list goes on and on
- 6:30and on, because these people are here on purpose
- 6:33and with purpose, using real estate to make the
- 6:36world a better place. Angel. Now, absolutely.
- 6:39And I wanted to back up just a little bit, because
- 6:42you talked about like, comparison being a thief
- 6:44of joy. And when you're going to these events,
- 6:49you are you are not the smartest person in the
- 6:51room. I'm not the smartest person in the room.
- 6:53I kind of feel dumb in those rooms. I don't even
- 6:55go into those rooms. I just stay in the halls
- 6:57and network because I don't like feeling dumb.
- 7:00So I'll let Jason go into those rooms because
- 7:02he's not going to feel dumb and I stay in the
- 7:03hallway. But I say all that because when you're
- 7:07surrounded by these people, these events, you
- 7:10feel like you don't know very much. But when
- 7:13you're around your own peer groups and you're
- 7:15around these groups that you're creating, these
- 7:17pipelines that you're creating, you are the expert.
- 7:20And you have to keep that in mind. Man, I am
- 7:23preaching to myself as much as I'm preaching
- 7:25to you, I swear, because I don't think I know
- 7:28anything. But when I get into those groups, I
- 7:32have to remember that I am the expert of that
- 7:35group. There are no other syndicators in this
- 7:37town. Me and Jason are it. And if we're wanting
- 7:40to build a group of people here, that their entrepreneurial
- 7:44spirits they they are of like mine they just
- 7:47don't know about syndication and I have to take
- 7:50that and understand I'm the expert and it's almost
- 7:53my duty to share with my friends how I can help
- 7:58them increase their wealth because that's my
- 8:01goal is I want my friends my friends to be able
- 8:04to join me on trips and my friends to be able
- 8:07to join me at two o 'clock in the afternoon at
- 8:09the winery because guess what we have time freedom
- 8:11we have financial freedom and we can go to the
- 8:13winery in the afternoon and just hang out for
- 8:15the afternoon because that's that's the freedoms
- 8:18that we want right and it's going to start with
- 8:21you recognizing that no matter what you feel
- 8:23like in a room full of other syndicators in your
- 8:27own groups you are the expert And you have to
- 8:30embrace that and you have to share the information
- 8:32because you want your friends to invest with
- 8:34you and grow with you. And we want everyone to
- 8:37be wealthy around us because that's around ourselves
- 8:40with those like minded people. My goodness, you've
- 8:43really nailed it. And it almost speaks to what
- 8:45we call the six human needs because we all have
- 8:48a need for certainty. We all have a need for
- 8:50variety. We all have a need for significance.
- 8:53We all have a need for connection. right and
- 8:55we call those the four primary needs but here's
- 8:58the good ones here's the two needs of the spirit
- 9:00because need number five is growth and we're
- 9:03like plants and if we don't go to these events
- 9:05and don't go into the hallways of the rooms or
- 9:07a combination of thereof we're not going to grow
- 9:10So the secret is to continually you know find
- 9:13yourself in rooms where you're definitely not
- 9:15the smartest person in the room or the hallway
- 9:17so that you can pick up a little bit from this
- 9:19gal and a little bit from this guy and a little
- 9:21bit from this group and a little bit from this
- 9:22couple and do what you know we call stacking
- 9:25right that's putting knowledge on top of knowledge
- 9:27right that's how you grow and then number six
- 9:31is contribution contribution you've got to get
- 9:34up every day when when your feet hit the floor
- 9:37you got to ask how am i going to help someone
- 9:39else today How am I going to contribute? How
- 9:41am I going to add value? How am I going to do
- 9:44it? Who am I going to do it with? When am I going
- 9:45to do it? And, you know, that's really what I
- 9:48know floats your boat and my boat. And a lot
- 9:50of the people whose names I've mentioned here,
- 9:53you know, they've made a lot of money and they've
- 9:54made a lot of, you know, friends, but it's really
- 9:57all about watching those people, you know, dare
- 10:00to soar. and dare to soar is a concept that my
- 10:03coach talks about where, you know what, imagine
- 10:06that we're all eagle soaring together. Imagine
- 10:08what the fun is and the flight looks like, you
- 10:11know, from 20, 30, 50 ,000 feet above the earth
- 10:14where we're all joined together and we're all
- 10:17doing it because we know that if we move towards
- 10:20those five freedoms, we can take some of that
- 10:22wisdom, that knowledge, that passion, that playfulness
- 10:25and help people that haven't been able to access
- 10:28it. So when something meets our six human needs
- 10:31and gives us certainty, which real estate is,
- 10:34I'm pretty certain that I'm going to continue
- 10:35to buy real estate. And so are you variety? Are
- 10:38we getting variety in this economic winter? Absolutely.
- 10:42Is it a time to build pipelines and do a lot
- 10:44of the things we've talked about today? Hell
- 10:46yes. Number three significance. And I think that
- 10:50anybody that feels like they're helping their
- 10:51community or their tribe, learning more, going
- 10:54to conferences, coming to summits, increasing
- 10:57their net worth is going to feel significant.
- 10:59And then number four is that connection. I'm
- 11:02connecting with you. You're connecting with me.
- 11:04We're connecting with the audience here today.
- 11:05And it's not anything more than a need, because
- 11:08if we didn't have connection, we'd feel empty.
- 11:11So again, those are the four primary needs. Number
- 11:13five is the need for growth. And number six is
- 11:16the need for contribution. And here's the ticket
- 11:19that if you continually meet those six human
- 11:22needs at a high level, it leads to higher levels
- 11:25of fulfillment, fulfillment. And at the end of
- 11:29the day, I think that that's another thing we
- 11:31all want. We all want to feel like we're making
- 11:34a difference and feel like we're helping other
- 11:36people. Because my motto is we're not here that
- 11:38long. You know, we might be on this earth for
- 11:4070, 80, 90, 100, 120 years with the way medical
- 11:44advances are going. It might be longer, but If
- 11:47there's one thing that I really believe in is
- 11:49we're here to learn, to live, to laugh, to love,
- 11:54to grow, and to share, and then to help other
- 11:57people do the same. I mean, what else are we
- 11:59here for? We're not just here to do real estate
- 12:00and make money, right? We want to help other
- 12:03people in our pursuit of helping ourselves make
- 12:07money, make impact, and have those five freedoms.
- 12:10So, Angel, I just love this conversation. And
- 12:13at the end of the day, people are either going
- 12:15to be interested in what we're talking about,
- 12:17or they're going to be committed to it and take
- 12:19action from something that they've learned here
- 12:22today, something that was said or something they
- 12:25took a note on. And how would you speak to you
- 12:27know, what your big distinctions or takeaways
- 12:29are from this delicious conversation? You know,
- 12:32I just the idea is I've really just hunkering
- 12:35down thinking about what you need to be doing
- 12:37and educating yourself and then taking action
- 12:41when the time is right. But In all of these times,
- 12:45whether you're educating or whether you're taking
- 12:47action, thinking about the things that you want
- 12:49to do, how are you going to get those freedoms?
- 12:51How are you going to get your time for your financial
- 12:53freedom, your geographic freedom, all of those
- 12:55freedoms? How are you going to meet your needs?
- 12:57How are you going to grow at that spiritual level
- 12:59on those last two? How are you going to do all
- 13:01of those pieces? Because money is just money.
- 13:06Wealth is just wealth. What is your level of
- 13:08fulfillment? I think there's tons of people out
- 13:12there that are very, very wealthy that are not
- 13:14fulfilled. I mean, I think we hear about it in
- 13:17the news all the time. You're like, why would
- 13:18that person do that to themselves? You know,
- 13:21they had so much money and I think it just goes
- 13:23to prove that the money is really meaningless
- 13:26and it's the fulfillment that they're able to
- 13:29get from the time freedom, the geographic freedom,
- 13:32the financial freedom and just being free to
- 13:34be themselves and to be open and have the relationships
- 13:38that are going to best serve them. in their in
- 13:40their quest for fulfillment. So that's beautiful
- 13:44piece of it just really hit home with me. Yeah,
- 13:47I think what you said, I'll put an exclamation
- 13:49mark on because that was beautiful. And I think
- 13:51that people need to realize that, you know, what
- 13:53real estate is, you know, not a sprint, it's
- 13:56a marathon. Right. And people that want that
- 13:59overnight success, they're going to go out there
- 14:01and probably make errors and buy stuff that they
- 14:04shouldn't be buying versus doubling down on what
- 14:06we're talking about here. And staying the course
- 14:09and remembering it's a long game. I'll give you
- 14:10an example of a study that was done at the University
- 14:13of Stanford or Stanford College where they call
- 14:16it the marshmallow test. Have you ever heard
- 14:18of this before? I don't think I have. It's fabulous.
- 14:21I learned it from, you know, Ray Dalio, who's
- 14:24a good friend of Tony Robbins. And if you don't
- 14:26know Ray Dalio, he's one of the if not the biggest
- 14:30hedge fund manager on the planet with something
- 14:32like 19 billion dollars in assets under management,
- 14:36and he's just worth a fortune. But at the end
- 14:39of the day, he talks about this marshmallow test
- 14:41where these scientists at Stanford, you know,
- 14:44would literally, you know, have these children
- 14:46come in, and they'd give one child the opportunity
- 14:50to either have one marshmallow right away and
- 14:53consume it, or they'd place two marshmallows
- 14:56down. And if the child delayed their gratification
- 14:59and would wait, I forget what the amount of time
- 15:02was. They could have two marshmallows and they
- 15:04went back and forth and brought in hundreds and
- 15:06hundreds and hundreds of kids to see how many
- 15:09kids wanted that instant gratification and would
- 15:11take that marshmallow and shove it in their mouth
- 15:13versus the ones that would wait the period of
- 15:16time and then be rewarded with two marshmallows.
- 15:19Well, I think real estate is really part of the
- 15:21two marshmallow club, right? Where if you guys
- 15:24double down on this and you surround yourself
- 15:26with other people that are doing what you want
- 15:28to do, and you realize that real estate is a
- 15:31game of patience. It's a game of relationships.
- 15:34It's a game of professional pillars. It's building
- 15:36pipelines. It's, you know, navigating the winters
- 15:39and the springs and the summers and the falls.
- 15:41I'm telling you, two, three, four, five, 10,
- 15:4415, 20 years from now, your life is going to
- 15:46look a lot different because you absolutely knew
- 15:49that it was, you know, like I said, not a sprint,
- 15:52right, but a longer term marathon. So what do
- 15:54you think of that marshmallow analogy, Angel?
- 15:58I love it. I'm just saying, I mean, like, that's
- 16:02that's what I was saying, like, don't jump at
- 16:05the first deal, just because it's the first thing
- 16:06you've seen after a little bit of winter. Yeah.
- 16:08For your second marshmallow. Beautiful, beautiful.
- 16:13The final thing I'll say and then we'll get ready
- 16:14to wrap here is, you know, there's two things
- 16:16I always like to leave people with. And those
- 16:18are two questions that I want everyone to ask
- 16:20themselves as, you know, we really step into.
- 16:24arguably what could be a wonderful winter for
- 16:27many, many people. And that is, you know, check
- 16:29in with number one, your level of hunger. I mean,
- 16:32how hungry are you for success? Are you willing
- 16:35to put on your skidoo suit and your snowshoes
- 16:38and your skis and your gloves and your mitts
- 16:40and your toques, regardless of what's going on
- 16:42out there with Mother Nature? Because, you know,
- 16:45Mother Nature is exactly that we can't control
- 16:47the winter. just like we can't control the government,
- 16:50we can't control interest rates, we can't control
- 16:52cap rates, we can't control competition, but
- 16:55it's not going to defeat you either. If you step
- 16:58into your higher hunger identity, which is I'm
- 17:01going to find a way to build pipelines and go
- 17:03out there and just keep on keeping on. So number
- 17:06one, check in with your level of hunger. Number
- 17:08two, check in with your passion, because I'm
- 17:11telling you where there's passion, there's possibility.
- 17:14In fact, where there's passion and possibility,
- 17:17there's profit waiting for you. Because I'm a
- 17:20big believer that, you know, again, we're not
- 17:22in the real estate business, we're in the relationship
- 17:25business. And the more you go out there and you
- 17:27cultivate relationships, and you meet people
- 17:29at online summits, and in person summits, and
- 17:33investor dinners and all of that, pretty soon
- 17:35through the compound effect, you're going to
- 17:37have a lot of like minded individuals that are
- 17:40going to join you in pursuit of this beautiful
- 17:43passionate thing called real estate. So with
- 17:46that said, Angel, any thoughts as to hunger or
- 17:48passion? And then like I said, we'll get ready
- 17:51to wrap. Well, you know, it's just, um, when
- 17:53you are super hungry and super passionate, you
- 17:56are going to find a way. And, I mean, I don't
- 18:01know what else to say about it. It's just, you're
- 18:03gonna find a way. It's, it's almost like it's
- 18:05a requirement. You don't have a choice. because
- 18:08your passion is going to drive your hunger, and
- 18:10your hunger is going to keep feeding your passion.
- 18:12And it's just this insatiable circle that just
- 18:14keeps going and going. And it's going to propel
- 18:17you it, you don't even really have a say in it.
- 18:21It's a poll. It's not a push, right? It's a poll,
- 18:24right? And I always say, you know, if you had
- 18:26a piece of string, and you were sitting at your
- 18:28kitchen table, would you rather push a piece
- 18:30of string across your kitchen table for two hours,
- 18:33or pull a piece of string across your kitchen
- 18:35table for two hours, right? If you had to do
- 18:38it, well, pushing a piece of string is not much
- 18:41fun, but pulling it would be kind of cool and
- 18:42you can make patterns and loops and all of that.
- 18:44So, folks, I've enjoyed being here and I can't
- 18:47even begin to thank Angel for the opportunity
- 18:49to come back at the summit and literally share
- 18:52with all of the other rock star speakers, the
- 18:55panelists, the Q &A that happened this weekend.
- 18:58And it's my hope that we get to. you know, have
- 19:01you apply a little bit of what angel and I have
- 19:03been talking about, or maybe share it, share
- 19:06it with your business partner, share it with
- 19:07your spouse, share it with your kids, but never
- 19:11leave the sight of a goal without taking some
- 19:13form of intelligent and inspired action. And
- 19:16the best way that you know what I know that you
- 19:18can get into it is teaching it to someone else
- 19:20because it almost becomes like, you know, ingrained
- 19:24in you where, you know, if you can teach it,
- 19:26you can live it. And if you teach it, they can
- 19:28live it. So Angel, thank you again for having
- 19:30me on and kudos to the work that you do, that
- 19:33Jason does and all of the people behind the scenes
- 19:36that allow this conference to happen. And I'm
- 19:38super proud of you. Thank you. And thank you
- 19:40for being here. It's um, this is always a highlight
- 19:43of my year. These are my six favorite days and
- 19:45getting to spend time with you is awesome too,
- 19:47because I just think about how far I've come
- 19:50since starting with you because you used to do
- 19:53a slide shows and now we just talk. because that
- 19:56growth that's happened, I don't need a slideshow
- 19:58to help me have these conversations. We've had
- 20:01massive mindset shifts and a lot has taken place
- 20:04in our own personal growth. And thank you for
- 20:06that. Well, you're most welcome. And you've done
- 20:09the work you and Jason are rock stars. And I
- 20:11can't wait to see you guys soon. So good luck
- 20:13with the summit. Thank you everyone for tuning
- 20:15in and have a blessed day. We'll see you on the
- 20:17flip side. Until next time guys.
