- 0:01Speaker 1: So twenty twenty five, what can we say about this season?
- 0:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna call it electric this year. And while you
- 0:10Speaker 1: guys in the Northern Hemisphere catching your breath and enjoying
- 0:13Speaker 1: the summer break, here on Pittalk, we are warming up
- 0:16Speaker 1: with a Midia deep dive into what's really been happening
- 0:19Speaker 1: behind the scenes. This episode of pit Talk has brought
- 0:22Speaker 1: to you by Shannon's Insurance. I'm your host, Rindita van Mullen,
- 0:26Speaker 1: joined as always by O'll go to guy for all
- 0:28Speaker 1: things a Moto GP inside, mister Matt Clayton. But Matt,
- 0:33Speaker 1: we've got an exciting guest and I'm going to say
- 0:36Speaker 1: he's easily in our top two favorite Jackson Moto GP
- 0:39Speaker 1: right now, mister Jack Apple Yard Jack, welcome to Pittalk.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Hello, thank you for having me a delight to be here.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Should I ask whether I'm first or second on that
- 0:49Speaker 2: list of Jackson Motto GP, I understand if I'm number two,
- 0:53Speaker 2: there's going to be a little bit of bias going
- 0:55Speaker 2: towards a fellow Australian and that's okay.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I'll take them worth If you've we've got some news
- 1:00Speaker 3: on the other Jacket might elevate you to number one
- 1:02Speaker 3: if the news is good Jack, So I'll leave that
- 1:04Speaker 3: up to you a bit later on Baby.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I wish, I wish last time we saw him in
- 1:08Speaker 2: and he says, you know as much as me, which
- 1:10Speaker 2: is well, I'll let you guys use some of the
- 1:14Speaker 2: colorful news. But yeah, he's in the dark at the moment,
- 1:18Speaker 2: but we'll have to wait and see. Yeah.
- 1:22Speaker 1: No, we've been posting all of that with Jack's comments
- 1:24Speaker 1: all over socials and we love his colorful language here.
- 1:27Speaker 1: It helps us gets a lot of the clicks, so
- 1:28Speaker 1: we like that. But but not talking about Miller, We're
- 1:31Speaker 1: going to talk about you because you have been a
- 1:34Speaker 1: very busy man this year.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Jack.
- 1:35Speaker 1: How are you enjoying the new role?
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, loving it, absolutely loving it. Big shoes to Phil.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Obviously Simon was fantastic, did it for a number of years.
- 1:44Speaker 2: But it's been such a joy to get the opportunity
- 1:48Speaker 2: to basically be the only man in the Pabot that
- 1:52Speaker 2: can leave the circuit on a Sunday, having been in
- 1:56Speaker 2: pact for mate every single weekend. I mean, I've got
- 1:58Speaker 2: a hundred, which even Matt Marquez can't say that he's had.
- 2:03Speaker 2: It's been fantastic so far. I mean the opportunity to
- 2:07Speaker 2: speak to the guys after I have a first wins
- 2:11Speaker 2: or first podiums is always special. I mean, in particular
- 2:15Speaker 2: the one that stands out being there and experiencing the
- 2:17Speaker 2: atmosphere in Lamont after Oh yeah, well that was just
- 2:22Speaker 2: incredibly special. I've even got goosebumps now thinking about the
- 2:26Speaker 2: noise when he came into park for me, the crowd
- 2:29Speaker 2: singing La Marsier's, it was an unbelievable afternoon. And yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 2: it's just very very privileged to be a part of
- 2:37Speaker 2: those moments.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I always think it's really interesting, Jack, when we
- 2:40Speaker 3: get people like yourself that are on you know, we
- 2:42Speaker 3: see you in Australia on the TV screens every weekend.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I always think it's interesting and we take it for
- 2:47Speaker 3: granted a bit for those of us that are around
- 2:49Speaker 3: it finding out how people do their jobs and how
- 2:52Speaker 3: they work. And this is obviously a big change for
- 2:54Speaker 3: you this year. Take us inside a week ind for
- 2:58Speaker 3: you because Thursday, for anyone that's been in a pre
- 3:00Speaker 3: weekend on the media side, Thursday is the day where
- 3:02Speaker 3: you need to be everywhere at the same time because
- 3:04Speaker 3: you're trying to get as many crumbs of information as
- 3:07Speaker 3: you can about the weekend. How do you prepare for
- 3:11Speaker 3: what's coming at you by what you do on Thursday?
- 3:14Speaker 3: And then I also wanted to ask you when things
- 3:16Speaker 3: go a little bit off script, and I'm thinking of
- 3:18Speaker 3: the beginning of the race at Cota, when everyone's abandoning
- 3:21Speaker 3: bikes and running off the grid and that's complete chaos.
- 3:24Speaker 3: You are the world's eyes and ears at that point.
- 3:27Speaker 3: And I still vividly remember halfway through the opening titles
- 3:30Speaker 3: they just got cut off and there's people running down
- 3:32Speaker 3: the pit lane, and you're the person alerting everyone to
- 3:34Speaker 3: the fact this is going on. So twopat question, how
- 3:37Speaker 3: do you prepare for the weekend? And secondly, when something
- 3:39Speaker 3: crazy like that comes up, you can probably still recall
- 3:42Speaker 3: that afternoon in pretty vivid detail.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I would have thought, absolutely, get onto in preparation wise,
- 3:49Speaker 2: you know you can. You can only do so much,
- 3:51Speaker 2: you think you know. Our once is try and see
- 3:54Speaker 2: what the pattern of the storylines were from a weekend
- 3:57Speaker 2: before year, trying to reach out to people on Thursday
- 4:02Speaker 2: to get an idea of who they think is going
- 4:04Speaker 2: to be strong, who might struggle, who it could benefit
- 4:07Speaker 2: who it won't what the latest gossip is. But so
- 4:10Speaker 2: much of the job is is reactionary, which is what
- 4:13Speaker 2: I love about it. You just have to be on
- 4:15Speaker 2: your toes, wait for something to happen to then go
- 4:18Speaker 2: and grab a reaction, wait for a story to break
- 4:22Speaker 2: to go and grab a reaction. A lot of it
- 4:25Speaker 2: you can't plan for. You can, certainly with the interviews
- 4:28Speaker 2: that I do with certain people, you have to plan
- 4:32Speaker 2: them in advance a little bit. You'll know, book them in,
- 4:35Speaker 2: get your slots because all of the TV stations so
- 4:38Speaker 2: often are wanting to speak to the same people. And
- 4:40Speaker 2: then once you know who you're going to speak to
- 4:42Speaker 2: on a Friday morning, Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, then you
- 4:45Speaker 2: can start to think about how you want to ask
- 4:48Speaker 2: you questions and what answers you want to get from them.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But the thing that I love most about the job
- 4:54Speaker 2: is that it is just so reactionary. You know, actually,
- 4:58Speaker 2: if someone hurts themselves, you've got to go and find
- 5:00Speaker 2: out what's happening. A rumor leaks about one rider going there,
- 5:03Speaker 2: you're going to go and speak to them, and just
- 5:05Speaker 2: think of things on the hoof, So that it means
- 5:10Speaker 2: often the prep that you do come Friday, ten minutes
- 5:15Speaker 2: into the session, it's completely uselel and then for Kotel'
- 5:21Speaker 2: always remember that that was round three. So on my
- 5:24Speaker 2: third weekend doing it properly. And obviously I've got a
- 5:30Speaker 2: talk back with with Matt and Lewis in the commentary
- 5:34Speaker 2: box to be able to chat to them and tell
- 5:35Speaker 2: them who I'm going to speak to, give them sub
- 5:38Speaker 2: dates that I think can help. And often during those
- 5:41Speaker 2: sixty seconds before the race starts, I stayed quiet because
- 5:44Speaker 2: it's a good opportunity for them to get their notes
- 5:47Speaker 2: in order to have a breath and just get ready
- 5:49Speaker 2: for the race ahead. And I was stood there on
- 5:52Speaker 2: the side. I was actually with Jorge Martin about to
- 5:55Speaker 2: interview him on the warm up lat and he's managing
- 5:58Speaker 2: Era over the shoulder, pointed and shouted, that's Mark Marquez.
- 6:02Speaker 2: So I turned, saw him running, looked up pit lane
- 6:05Speaker 2: and saw the rest of the morning. Quickly got on
- 6:08Speaker 2: the over line to the guides, then just shouted, they're
- 6:11Speaker 2: all running off of the grid.
- 6:12Speaker 4: I wit.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Kicked away from the opening sequence and gone to what
- 6:20Speaker 2: was happening in pit lane, and I was sprinting down
- 6:22Speaker 2: pit lane in that moment, I didn't know what to do.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Do I stand there and wait with him? So I
- 6:26Speaker 2: go with them. So I just thought, going that way,
- 6:29Speaker 2: I'm going to go that way with them, just to
- 6:31Speaker 2: see what happens. And then speaking about being reactionary, then
- 6:34Speaker 2: once you'd had the chance to stop and think, I thought,
- 6:38Speaker 2: you know, those guys in the comtry box can describe
- 6:40Speaker 2: what happening. I feel my job is to get the
- 6:43Speaker 2: opinion of the people on the ground of what they
- 6:46Speaker 2: make of it. And initially I thought that the people
- 6:50Speaker 2: are going to feel wronged. Here are the ones that
- 6:53Speaker 2: made the correct call on the grid and stayed on
- 6:56Speaker 2: the grid. One of them was Ayagura, And just as
- 6:59Speaker 2: I turned around, I could see David day Rivio walking
- 7:02Speaker 2: towards me. And David Day is normally the most calm,
- 7:06Speaker 2: mild mannered, placid man, and you could just tell you
- 7:10Speaker 2: were seething with anger. So I just went up to
- 7:12Speaker 2: him and went, could you just ask a quick question? Okay,
- 7:17Speaker 2: no problem? So I got it, and then his reaction
- 7:20Speaker 2: was brilliant and told the story perfectly of this is
- 7:23Speaker 2: this is wrong, It should be able to happen. We've
- 7:25Speaker 2: made the right decision. We're being penalised for it, so
- 7:29Speaker 2: so much of that is just okay, trying to stop
- 7:32Speaker 2: and think and have a clear mind of right, what's
- 7:34Speaker 2: the story here? Who do we need to speak to
- 7:37Speaker 2: to try and get the right reactions. Luckily I think
- 7:42Speaker 2: I've got it right with Brivio on that situation. But yeah,
- 7:45Speaker 2: it was a wild one.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Yeah, the Brivio one was perfect because you all you
- 7:51Speaker 3: had to do was line him up and he had
- 7:53Speaker 3: his answer and he wanted to get all of the
- 7:55Speaker 3: annoyances and the frustrations there, and all you needed to
- 7:58Speaker 3: do is just hold the Mike Andrew's nose why you
- 8:00Speaker 3: got it, which was absolutely perfect. But to take you
- 8:02Speaker 3: inside what it was like being in Australia, of course
- 8:04Speaker 3: with the time difference at six o'clock in the morning
- 8:06Speaker 3: on a Monday, so we're sitting here like half asleep,
- 8:09Speaker 3: trying to get ready for a murder GP race and
- 8:11Speaker 3: then they're all running off the grid and we're listening
- 8:13Speaker 3: to you as like I know that I'm not one
- 8:15Speaker 3: hundred percent awake here, but what on earth is going on?
- 8:17Speaker 3: It was his most surreal experience and being on the
- 8:20Speaker 3: inside as you were, I mean, you know, third Grand Prix.
- 8:23Speaker 3: It's like, is it always like this?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah? No, And then for Lamon Lamon wasn't too dissimilar
- 8:29Speaker 2: as well. No, the reratin has stopped, and because I
- 8:33Speaker 2: was aware of what Mark had done two rounds before,
- 8:35Speaker 2: I just placed myself until they had to kick me
- 8:38Speaker 2: off right behind the ninety three. If he was having
- 8:41Speaker 2: any conversations with Ta dot C or his crew chief,
- 8:45Speaker 2: just to see whether he's going to do the same again,
- 8:47Speaker 2: and they were very close to him. I mean, that
- 8:48Speaker 2: was another wild one of trying to be at the
- 8:51Speaker 2: end of pit lane looking as they're going out to
- 8:53Speaker 2: see who's on what tires, And yeah, that was and
- 8:58Speaker 2: I love that though, absolutely loved that. When when when
- 9:00Speaker 2: it all goes wrong and there's chale element and I think, wow,
- 9:05Speaker 2: this is so much fun.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I just heard you talking about Mark and it
- 9:09Speaker 1: made me think, Okay, you're obviously in the paddoic. You're
- 9:12Speaker 1: seeing him every weekend. How completely in control of everything
- 9:17Speaker 1: is he right now? Like we see him on track,
- 9:20Speaker 1: you see him the races. He kind of has everyone
- 9:23Speaker 1: under his finger, right.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you just feel that he's just so completely dominant
- 9:30Speaker 2: at the moment. There's not not even an expectation just
- 9:35Speaker 2: to I think and understanding across the grid that or
- 9:39Speaker 2: even across the paddoct that Mark's going to win today.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It's a battle for second unless something wild happens. Certainly
- 9:45Speaker 2: now that he's got those those crashes out of the way,
- 9:49Speaker 2: you know, the one at Austin Stone, the one in
- 9:51Speaker 2: her f Stung, And since then he's evolved, is learned,
- 9:55Speaker 2: and he looks unstoppable. Now, I mean looking at the
- 9:59Speaker 2: second half of the year, and I think everyone's asking
- 10:01Speaker 2: the question, when is the first opportunity for anybody else
- 10:04Speaker 2: it's going to come along. It's almost a given he's
- 10:06Speaker 2: going to wrap up the world championship. It's not a
- 10:08Speaker 2: question of if, it's when he's going to do it.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And yeah, he's just in complete control, as you say,
- 10:15Speaker 2: And it makes my job difficult because I'm really running
- 10:19Speaker 2: out of questions to ask you. Yeah, well, then you've
- 10:22Speaker 2: done it again, Mark, another dominant victory. How do you
- 10:24Speaker 2: feel about this one? But he's fair play. I mean,
- 10:30Speaker 2: I think we all had a feeling that this was
- 10:32Speaker 2: going to happen. When you put the best rider on
- 10:33Speaker 2: the best ride, there's only one outcome, and we're seeing
- 10:37Speaker 2: what happens when those two things merge.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's interesting though, because you know, if you go
- 10:42Speaker 3: back and you look at the early way he won
- 10:44Speaker 3: World Championships, it looks like it's going to be the
- 10:46Speaker 3: same end of the season that we saw so many
- 10:49Speaker 3: times before. But I almost think that, you know, this
- 10:52Speaker 3: is one of those rare cases where the sequels better
- 10:53Speaker 3: than the original, you know, like he's the new improved
- 10:56Speaker 3: version of Mark. You can see, you can see how
- 10:59Speaker 3: he's improved since he last won one, which you know,
- 11:01Speaker 3: twenty nineteen doesn't seem that long ago. It was a
- 11:03Speaker 3: very long time ago. There's a new improved version of Mark.
- 11:06Speaker 3: But the other side to this coin, of course, Jack
- 11:08Speaker 3: is Pekovanyaya. We came into this season so hopeful. It's like, well, look,
- 11:12Speaker 3: Mark's going into Pecko's team, and Pecko's been a two
- 11:15Speaker 3: time world champion and a two time runner up in
- 11:17Speaker 3: the last four years. And as good as it's been
- 11:19Speaker 3: for Mark, it's been pretty dire for Pecko. What are
- 11:23Speaker 3: you seeing from your vantage point right now, because it
- 11:26Speaker 3: looks from afar that Peko is still a little bit confused,
- 11:30Speaker 3: he's still a little bit incredulous, about the whole thing,
- 11:33Speaker 3: and there seems to be this He is the shoulder
- 11:36Speaker 3: shrugging emoji right now. He's not one hundred percent sure
- 11:39Speaker 3: how he's got himself into this position. Do you think
- 11:41Speaker 3: the rest of this year is really trying to understand
- 11:44Speaker 3: and at least finish the year with an understanding of
- 11:46Speaker 3: where things are and then resetting, because right now he
- 11:49Speaker 3: just looks so defeated.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, he really is. I think even worse than frustrations,
- 11:57Speaker 2: it's almost just an acceptance from him now the this
- 12:00Speaker 2: bike isn't going to give me what I wanted. He
- 12:02Speaker 2: said that in the lawn, which was it feels a
- 12:04Speaker 2: long time ago, and since then twelve rounds now and
- 12:08Speaker 2: his performance levels haven't really improved. Throughout the year, the
- 12:12Speaker 2: Caty have tried to throw different bits at him. Whether
- 12:14Speaker 2: he's tried the new erow, he's tried a couple of
- 12:16Speaker 2: different chassis, but unfortunately whatever they give at the moment,
- 12:20Speaker 2: the GP twenty five engine, which which is different. You know,
- 12:25Speaker 2: throughout pre season we said that it was the same
- 12:28Speaker 2: and David Todd lots in everyone of the Catty told
- 12:30Speaker 2: us that they were imuligating the twenty four engine, which
- 12:33Speaker 2: in spec is the same, but it is very slightly
- 12:37Speaker 2: different in minor areas, which has clearly affected the balance
- 12:41Speaker 2: of the bike and completely taken away any of that
- 12:44Speaker 2: front feeling that made peckout that the riding of he
- 12:46Speaker 2: was over the last three seasons, and if it hasn't
- 12:52Speaker 2: improved over twelve rounds, I don't think there's a lot
- 12:54Speaker 2: of confidence from anyone that's going to find a miraculous
- 12:58Speaker 2: answer to be able to suddenly fighting for race victories
- 13:02Speaker 2: in the second half of the season. Within the rules,
- 13:06Speaker 2: there is the possibility for going into twenty twenty six
- 13:09Speaker 2: because the Katy confirmed for the satellite teams, those on
- 13:13Speaker 2: the bikes like Alex Marquez and Frankie Morbidelli, the Pecker
- 13:17Speaker 2: to return to that end journal more to a GP
- 13:20Speaker 2: twenty four spec. But whether they do that that's a
- 13:23Speaker 2: question for pre season. But yeah, I mean, just trying
- 13:27Speaker 2: to find that confidence again, it's going to be a
- 13:29Speaker 2: huge challenge and it's tough for ban Yaya because, like
- 13:34Speaker 2: you say, on the opposite side of the garage, Mark
- 13:38Speaker 2: is being able to handle all of the changes quite grilliantly,
- 13:43Speaker 2: but these circumstances are slightly different as well. That Mark
- 13:47Speaker 2: has taken a step from the twenty twenty three last year,
- 13:50Speaker 2: and we've seen the performance step that Alex has been
- 13:53Speaker 2: able to make. It clearly is a step forward from
- 13:56Speaker 2: twenty three to twenty four or twenty five? Is it
- 14:00Speaker 2: a step from twenty four to twenty five? I think
- 14:02Speaker 2: clearly it's not. And Peko is at the moment trying
- 14:06Speaker 2: to ride it like he was last year, and unfortunately
- 14:09Speaker 2: the bike this year just isn't allowing him to do that.
- 14:13Speaker 3: It's one of the great benefits I guess you could
- 14:14Speaker 3: say with Marcus he never actually rode the twenty four.
- 14:16Speaker 3: It hasn't had to one learn how to ride the
- 14:18Speaker 3: twenty four.
- 14:19Speaker 2: That's the same for what and Abastianini said last time
- 14:22Speaker 2: out as well. I thought that was really interesting that
- 14:25Speaker 2: the results and the huge turnaround inform saw in Bruno.
- 14:28Speaker 2: He said it was because I come here and I've
- 14:30Speaker 2: got no prior knowledge of any other bike, so I'm
- 14:32Speaker 2: not trying to like the CATD. I'm just having to
- 14:35Speaker 2: ride it like this bike is. So yeah, it's a
- 14:39Speaker 2: challenge for Peko, it really is, and I don't think
- 14:43Speaker 2: it's out of the question that he's looking over his
- 14:44Speaker 2: shoulder and might be up against it to even hold
- 14:47Speaker 2: onto a top three spot in the championship. I mean,
- 14:50Speaker 2: it feels as though it's a given that Mark and
- 14:51Speaker 2: Alex are going to finish one too, but with a
- 14:53Speaker 2: form of Fazeki at the moment that the Prillier is
- 14:56Speaker 2: really strong, really strong in the last few rounds, and
- 15:00Speaker 2: if it wasn't for Mark, Bas would have been winning
- 15:03Speaker 2: races quite comfortably. So I think the packer was really
- 15:07Speaker 2: We've got a huge challenge in the second half of
- 15:09Speaker 2: the year to hold off the rising form of a Brillian.
- 15:15Speaker 3: You've cued me up beautifully here by mentioning Aprillier, because
- 15:18Speaker 3: I did want to ask you. It's almost like we've
- 15:20Speaker 3: done this before. I wanted to ask you about the
- 15:23Speaker 3: other big story of this year that you were right
- 15:25Speaker 3: in the middle of. I'm not talking about the start
- 15:27Speaker 3: of the race at Cota, the interview you did with
- 15:30Speaker 3: Albert Valera on the Live at Asen, which was kind
- 15:34Speaker 3: of the court coming out of the bottle in this
- 15:36Speaker 3: whole Martine a Prillia situation, because it kind of stagnated
- 15:40Speaker 3: for a bit, and I feel that that interview was
- 15:43Speaker 3: the impetus that caused everything that followed and ended up
- 15:46Speaker 3: with Juge Martin back on the bike for Aprillia and
- 15:48Speaker 3: Bruno and apparently we're all holding hands and friends again.
- 15:50Speaker 3: But talk us through that interview with Albert Valeria, because
- 15:54Speaker 3: I'm sure that's one of those ones where either you
- 15:56Speaker 3: approached him or he approached you and said, hey, I'd
- 15:58Speaker 3: like to come and talk to you today please. He
- 16:00Speaker 3: really had something that he wanted to say and get
- 16:01Speaker 3: out there that was pretty riveting tv A in the moment,
- 16:06Speaker 3: and then what it kicked off in the days after that.
- 16:09Speaker 3: You must have known as that was happening. It's like,
- 16:11Speaker 3: oh boy, I've got something here, this is this is
- 16:13Speaker 3: going to be fun.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Yeah I was. I was looking my lips thinking, yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 2: I've definitely got a story this weekend, and we've got
- 16:20Speaker 2: ye as soon as as soon as the news broke,
- 16:24Speaker 2: I got in touch with Albert saying, you know, would
- 16:27Speaker 2: love to be able to get your side of the
- 16:29Speaker 2: story around. Not yet, not yet, and he said, look,
- 16:35Speaker 2: when the time is right, I'll let you know. And
- 16:37Speaker 2: then that morning we were in Alpine Stars having a coffee.
- 16:44Speaker 2: He walked in and said, what do we think now
- 16:47Speaker 2: next weekend? You know, before the summer break. Anyway, let's
- 16:50Speaker 2: do it today. I was like, Okay, great, let's let's
- 16:53Speaker 2: get cracking. And yeah, it was. It's fascinating because obviously
- 17:01Speaker 2: English isn't his native language, so beforehand he knew what
- 17:05Speaker 2: he wanted to say and he just wanted to check
- 17:07Speaker 2: that he was going to put it across in the
- 17:09Speaker 2: right manner. So it's just what I was going to ask.
- 17:14Speaker 2: So he had the chance because often you know, like
- 17:17Speaker 2: you have to give huge credit to both Albert, but
- 17:19Speaker 2: then more on than that, or Hey in Bruno, to
- 17:23Speaker 2: do that press conference by yourself in a second language
- 17:29Speaker 2: that impeccably you know, that is so challenging to do.
- 17:33Speaker 2: But he was honest and did it incredibly well. So yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 2: it was. It was great to get the chance to
- 17:40Speaker 2: speak with Albert and everything that exploded on from that.
- 17:43Speaker 2: And I have to say, oh, hey, I think from
- 17:46Speaker 2: the fans has got a lot of grief, has maybe
- 17:50Speaker 2: lost a lot of goodwill with the fans. But from
- 17:52Speaker 2: what Albert was saying, I could understand where he was
- 17:56Speaker 2: coming from. I mean, you saw how emotional or Hey
- 17:59Speaker 2: got in that press conference when he was asked to
- 18:03Speaker 2: recount the days after guitar where you know, on another day,
- 18:06Speaker 2: he was very luckily lucky that that didn't end a
- 18:09Speaker 2: far lot worse than what it did. He was in
- 18:13Speaker 2: ic U for for close to a week with a
- 18:15Speaker 2: collapse long, with tubes coming out of everywhere. We've obviously
- 18:19Speaker 2: been in a different country, not having his loved ones
- 18:22Speaker 2: around him, and that took him to the lowest point
- 18:24Speaker 2: of his career, the lowest point of his life, and
- 18:28Speaker 2: he already or after that. They then gone to them
- 18:31Speaker 2: on then that the contract was agreed by both parties.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Let's not forget I really agreed to it. Albert and
- 18:38Speaker 2: Jorge managed to get that clause, in that now famous
- 18:41Speaker 2: clause that after six rounds in the top five months championship.
- 18:46Speaker 4: And he'll be able to lean and I think in
- 18:49Speaker 4: good way given.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Very easy people. Yeah, people in the ground, you know,
- 19:19Speaker 2: all right, even more so the rain wa he's allowed
- 19:25Speaker 2: to a little bit insane. I need to try this,
- 19:31Speaker 2: I need to want to decide whether this bike is
- 19:33Speaker 2: right for me, and Prilliant weren't going to give him
- 19:35Speaker 2: that opportunity to do so, which because of that, I
- 19:38Speaker 2: think he put his back up a little bit and
- 19:40Speaker 2: he thought, right there well, if you're not going to
- 19:42Speaker 2: give me that opportunity, I'm going to look for opportunities elsewhere.
- 19:46Speaker 2: And yet his head was turned a little bit by
- 19:49Speaker 2: the big money offer that that Honda had on the
- 19:51Speaker 2: table for him. But I think we should not jump
- 19:56Speaker 2: all over Hawk and understand that from that difficult position,
- 20:00Speaker 2: he maybe wasn't in the right headspace to make clear decisions.
- 20:05Speaker 2: And in the end he tried the bike that that
- 20:08Speaker 2: Masano test enjoyed it, and I think there's fifty to
- 20:12Speaker 2: fifty to that story. Yes, the bike is much better
- 20:14Speaker 2: than when he first tried it, but also as well,
- 20:17Speaker 2: I think key to all of it was the pressure
- 20:21Speaker 2: that Carmelo Espeletta put on the situation by saying that
- 20:27Speaker 2: if a rider isn't fully completely with both sides happy
- 20:31Speaker 2: out of a contract, then we went registered them for
- 20:35Speaker 2: the following season, and Brilliant were more than happy to
- 20:38Speaker 2: drag it through the courts. They were playing their cards
- 20:41Speaker 2: as they're more than allowed to do so, and we're
- 20:44Speaker 2: going to try and make it as awkward as possible.
- 20:45Speaker 2: And in the end, because of that, with all the
- 20:47Speaker 2: mounting pressure from the championship from a few different parties
- 20:51Speaker 2: in the pad. I think it was the only real option,
- 20:55Speaker 2: and we'll see, we'll see. I still think although it's
- 20:58Speaker 2: happy families now, it doesn't take a lot for this
- 21:02Speaker 2: situation to change, because let's not forget that the contract
- 21:05Speaker 2: only runs up until the end of next year, so
- 21:08Speaker 2: or heey could quite happen easily, as we've seen before,
- 21:12Speaker 2: sign a deal in January to go to Honda for
- 21:14Speaker 2: twenty twenty seven, which I still think is on the cards,
- 21:16Speaker 2: and then suddenly the pair of them have to live
- 21:19Speaker 2: with one another knowing that the divorces imminent in twelve months time.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I'm of the belief that if I was Masimo Rivla,
- 21:29Speaker 2: I want people that are one hundred percent committed to
- 21:33Speaker 2: this course. You're either all in or you're out, because
- 21:36Speaker 2: I want people that trust in what we're doing, believe
- 21:39Speaker 2: in what we're doing. And por Hey, regardless of the
- 21:42Speaker 2: fact whether you world champion and you're obviously one of
- 21:44Speaker 2: the top top riders out there, if you're not in,
- 21:47Speaker 2: no problem, we'll prove you wrong. We'll go elsewhere. But
- 21:50Speaker 2: also as well, it's a huge financial investment from a
- 21:54Speaker 2: prillier in Porpey Martin Rivler's bosses given the fact that
- 21:59Speaker 2: they signed off the extra money to make sure that
- 22:01Speaker 2: they had him on board. Would not be happy at
- 22:03Speaker 2: the fact that within six months we've lost this star
- 22:05Speaker 2: man and would be asking quite rightly serious questions of
- 22:09Speaker 2: how on earth has this gone so wrong so fast?
- 22:11Speaker 2: So I can understand why Riveller had to hold his
- 22:14Speaker 2: position and had to make sure that he kept him
- 22:16Speaker 2: on the bike. And you haven't hope, like we've seen
- 22:19Speaker 2: with Beds, that April was competitive and the one thing
- 22:23Speaker 2: that has let Marco down so far has been is qualifying.
- 22:27Speaker 2: And what's Jorges's huge strong suit his ability to put
- 22:30Speaker 2: one lap in and that just out of the box
- 22:32Speaker 2: electric pace. So I wouldn't be surprised if he's on
- 22:36Speaker 2: the podium, certainly before the end of the season, certainly
- 22:38Speaker 2: in the next maybe before we even get onto the flightaways.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I think that that Ali he's ready to compete, and
- 22:44Speaker 2: when Jorges had his best, maybe we'll see some results
- 22:46Speaker 2: and it could be a happy ending. But for sure
- 22:49Speaker 2: the story is although just calm down for now, he's
- 22:53Speaker 2: not done yet.
- 22:55Speaker 1: You guys heard it there, Jack said that who is
- 22:57Speaker 1: going to put on the box, So we're going to
- 22:59Speaker 1: hold you to that Jack, But let's move on to
- 23:02Speaker 1: our second favorite Jack. Okay, Jack, Miller, we got to
- 23:05Speaker 1: ask you about this. We had to get there at
- 23:07Speaker 1: some point. So I know you mentioned earlier that Jack
- 23:11Speaker 1: said that you know, you guys know as much as
- 23:13Speaker 1: he does. Bloody, bloody blood. But come on, surely you're
- 23:15Speaker 1: going to give us some goss or something like, what
- 23:18Speaker 1: do you know about Jack's future? What's going to happen
- 23:21Speaker 1: to Miller?
- 23:22Speaker 2: Look, Jack wants wants to stay in Moto GP. There
- 23:26Speaker 2: work offers on the table from will Bite. It looks
- 23:30Speaker 2: as though some of those options have now closed. It
- 23:34Speaker 2: seems one of them was Hondo. It looks as Jake
- 23:36Speaker 2: Dixon is going to take that up. A huge thing
- 23:40Speaker 2: to look at that the Tazuka eight Hours, which is
- 23:42Speaker 2: the endurance event which is going on at the moment.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I think it's this weekend on Thursday. That is a huge,
- 23:52Speaker 2: huge thing.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Riders in great all that grand and he's looking very
- 24:03Speaker 5: very and a lot of decisions to make during that
- 24:07Speaker 5: as well as going out there.
- 24:10Speaker 2: He's making a huge, big show of faith in Yamaha,
- 24:14Speaker 2: and I think he's hoping that he will be rewarded
- 24:17Speaker 2: as a result. Of that where he ends up. I
- 24:22Speaker 2: don't know, because I think it all swings on. There's
- 24:26Speaker 2: a lot of talk, a lot of rumors. Whether there's
- 24:28Speaker 2: any wait to them, I don't know, but I think
- 24:32Speaker 2: there does need to be over the summer some really
- 24:35Speaker 2: difficult conversations between Yamaha and Alex Rinns. Alex I think
- 24:41Speaker 2: is an unbelievable rider, five motor GP wins to his name,
- 24:44Speaker 2: that the talent is obvious, but I think it's clear
- 24:49Speaker 2: unfortunate to everybody that after that horrific leg break in Magello,
- 24:53Speaker 2: he's not the same rider anymore. And it is a
- 24:56Speaker 2: very difficult conversation to have because he's a huge because
- 25:00Speaker 2: he's a great guy. But the position that Yamahar are
- 25:03Speaker 2: at now, if they want to break through to that
- 25:07Speaker 2: next level, I just don't think that they can have
- 25:11Speaker 2: their rider line up purely based on and goodwill. They
- 25:15Speaker 2: need to make those daft decisions, be brutal and choose
- 25:20Speaker 2: the right riders that are going to be able to
- 25:22Speaker 2: take the project forward, whether that's paying Alex out of
- 25:26Speaker 2: his contracted year early, promoting Jack and then put in
- 25:29Speaker 2: a rookie alongside top Right and Promac next year. I
- 25:31Speaker 2: think that is a scenario that some people see is
- 25:35Speaker 2: quite a good fit. Jack would be able to step
- 25:37Speaker 2: into the factory team like he has done at the Cateid,
- 25:40Speaker 2: like he has done at KTM, bring a wealth of
- 25:42Speaker 2: knowledge he's played. He knows perfectly how to play that
- 25:48Speaker 2: second rider role like he did with ban Yaya, testing
- 25:52Speaker 2: items throughout the season, like he did at KTM, trying
- 25:55Speaker 2: to just elevate their level. He knows what his job
- 25:57Speaker 2: is and we'll be able to do that job very well.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Trying to support Fabio, who we all know will be
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yamaha's leading light next year, and commercially as well, the
- 26:09Speaker 2: fact that Jack is now a Monster rider, it fits
- 26:12Speaker 2: well with the brand. Jack is easily one of the
- 26:14Speaker 2: most marketable riders on the grid, and having him and
- 26:18Speaker 2: Fabio in the factory team, you know that commercially that
- 26:21Speaker 2: works for all of the sponsors because they're going to
- 26:24Speaker 2: be able to generate good content on social media, are
- 26:28Speaker 2: going to be able to sell the brands brilliantly wherever
- 26:32Speaker 2: they are. It's just a good pairing that we'll get
- 26:34Speaker 2: a lot of people talking. So I think it works
- 26:37Speaker 2: for a lot of reasons. And although Jack said that
- 26:40Speaker 2: he didn't have any answers two weekends ago in the
- 26:45Speaker 2: Czech Republic. I'm fairly sure there will be conversations been
- 26:48Speaker 2: had in Suzuka this weekend where his future will be
- 26:52Speaker 2: a lot lot clearer. So hopefully when we get to
- 26:54Speaker 2: ostroom we've seen him on Thursday, we can ask him
- 26:56Speaker 2: and he'll have some answers for us.
- 26:59Speaker 1: You mentioned top rack as well. What's your thoughts on
- 27:01Speaker 1: top pract coming in next year? How do you think
- 27:03Speaker 1: he's going to go jumping from a superbike to motorbike
- 27:05Speaker 1: so late in his career as well.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fascinating. Just as a fan, I'm incredibly excited,
- 27:11Speaker 2: but he's actually happening because you just look at his
- 27:15Speaker 2: talent and the way that he writes that the World
- 27:18Speaker 2: Superbike is like no one else. He looks like he's
- 27:21Speaker 2: going to win the World Championship this year, but when
- 27:23Speaker 2: the BNW isn't the best bike again, And to be honest,
- 27:28Speaker 2: I think it's such a fascinating question because nobody really
- 27:33Speaker 2: knows how he's going to get on some people, there's
- 27:36Speaker 2: lots of strong opinions out there. Some people think he's
- 27:39Speaker 2: going to come in and he's going to fight for
- 27:40Speaker 2: the world championships, and people think he's going to fail
- 27:43Speaker 2: to score a point, and to be perfectly honest, nobody
- 27:45Speaker 2: has a clue really until he gets on the bike
- 27:48Speaker 2: and we actually see I think we have to treat
- 27:51Speaker 2: him as a rookie, which he will be. We can't
- 27:53Speaker 2: be expecting him to come in and fight for race
- 27:56Speaker 2: wins straight away. Also, the level of the Amahar at
- 28:00Speaker 2: the moment isn't going to allow him to fight for
- 28:03Speaker 2: race wins straight away. Even Fabio on his best days, yes,
- 28:07Speaker 2: has been able to be there and close to the podium,
- 28:11Speaker 2: but the average finishing position has been what eighth, seven, six,
- 28:17Speaker 2: It's been comfortably inside the top ten, but not really
- 28:20Speaker 2: challenging for the top five on a regular basis. I
- 28:23Speaker 2: think by the end of the year, if like a
- 28:26Speaker 2: good rookie, can have some surprise queue two appearances, it
- 28:29Speaker 2: can suddenly confirm himself inside the top ten. He can
- 28:32Speaker 2: learn the circuit because like most rookies, he's also got
- 28:35Speaker 2: that disadvantage that there's going to be at least half
- 28:38Speaker 2: of the circuits he goes to, but he's never ridden before,
- 28:40Speaker 2: which is due's disadvantage. So you've just got to give
- 28:45Speaker 2: him time, I think, but it's going to be fascinating
- 28:48Speaker 2: and can't wait to see how he gets on and
- 28:50Speaker 2: how that style adapts. It's one of the great things
- 28:54Speaker 2: about Motor D've next year is finding out at last,
- 28:58Speaker 2: how will top rack do to j.
- 29:02Speaker 1: We here at Pittook we like to promote out Ossie's
- 29:05Speaker 1: and not only Miller, but obviously Center Ags in Moto
- 29:08Speaker 1: two and Joe Kelso and Jacob Rulesto in Moto three.
- 29:12Speaker 1: So I want to talk to you about Senna because
- 29:14Speaker 1: this year was pretty cool to be at Silverstone. It
- 29:17Speaker 1: is his first win in Moto two. But I want
- 29:20Speaker 1: to hear from you because you've watched the whole evolution
- 29:23Speaker 1: now of Senna in the World Championship. Do you feel
- 29:25Speaker 1: like he's on the right path? Is he going to
- 29:29Speaker 1: be our next Ozzie hopeful that steps into Moto GP?
- 29:32Speaker 4: Do you think?
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah? Absolutely. I mean I remember speaking to Matt it
- 29:36Speaker 2: last year about this time last year year about some
- 29:39Speaker 2: of the guys to keep your eye on, and I said,
- 29:42Speaker 2: Sener he's so methodical and precise in how he works,
- 29:47Speaker 2: and he wasn't getting carried away with himself. He was
- 29:50Speaker 2: just slowly making small steps towards the front and now
- 29:54Speaker 2: this year is one of the strongest guys out there. Yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 2: I think going into next year vouted out he's going
- 30:01Speaker 2: to be a title contender. I don't think there's going
- 30:03Speaker 2: to be too many guys move up to Moto GP.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Looks like Marea is going to step up. Looks like
- 30:09Speaker 2: there's going to be a couple of guys that move
- 30:10Speaker 2: over to World Superbikes. Dixon and Cannett, likely's teammate will stay.
- 30:15Speaker 2: It seems like at the moment, despite potentially winning the
- 30:18Speaker 2: World championship, and then you would say next year it's
- 30:20Speaker 2: going to be Gonzales looking to go back to back,
- 30:23Speaker 2: It's going to be Center, probably going to be David Alonzo.
- 30:27Speaker 2: All they're fighting to be world champions. I have to
- 30:29Speaker 2: say right now, was I heard rumors of some potentially
- 30:33Speaker 2: interest even for this year, of Senner moving up to
- 30:36Speaker 2: Moto GP. But for sure, I think he's going to
- 30:38Speaker 2: be from the shopping list for a lot of riders
- 30:41Speaker 2: in twenty twenty seven, for a lot of teams. Sorry,
- 30:44Speaker 2: in twenty twenty seven, it was even talk could he
- 30:46Speaker 2: may be like we saw with man who Gonzales before
- 30:50Speaker 2: the end of the year and in the opportunity to
- 30:52Speaker 2: try Motor GP bike this year, just to get him
- 30:55Speaker 2: prepped potentially for a step up. I'm not sure whether
- 30:58Speaker 2: those talks have gone colds, but I did hear that
- 31:01Speaker 2: was potentially something that who were trying to work towards. Well.
- 31:05Speaker 2: For sure, I'm convinced that if he continues to make
- 31:09Speaker 2: the progress that he is, he's going to fight for
- 31:11Speaker 2: the World championship next year and he's going to be
- 31:14Speaker 2: a hot, hot candidate to be on the gridge for
- 31:16Speaker 2: twenty twenty seven, which for me is the perfect time
- 31:20Speaker 2: to move up to Moto GP.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it is, so you need to think of the
- 31:23Speaker 3: rule changes coming in. It's the big reset for the series.
- 31:26Speaker 3: There's some ronerda you and I were talking about this
- 31:29Speaker 3: off here. There's a change of management there for Center
- 31:31Speaker 3: behind the scenes as well, which is rather interesting given
- 31:35Speaker 3: that he's now got Daniel Ricardo's former manager black Friend
- 31:37Speaker 3: looking after him, and also which has Davies and is
- 31:39Speaker 3: quite a powerhouse sort of management shift going on behind
- 31:42Speaker 3: there as well. So they clearly see something that's going
- 31:45Speaker 3: on there as well they want to get on board with.
- 31:47Speaker 3: So I hope your twenty twenty seven prediction, Jack is
- 31:51Speaker 3: a spot on.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Yeah, fingers crossed. I mean sometimes you just get the
- 31:55Speaker 2: feeling that it's the right rider, with the right personality,
- 31:59Speaker 2: the right past, which does help the right people around him,
- 32:03Speaker 2: the right results, the right trajectory. In so far touch
- 32:07Speaker 2: toward everything seems to just be moving in the right direction,
- 32:10Speaker 2: the center. So let's hope that continues.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I like the bold calls that you're doing so far.
- 32:16Speaker 1: So let's move on to murto three real quick so
- 32:18Speaker 1: we can get another one. Let's talk about Joel Kelsoe
- 32:20Speaker 1: because he had a really strong start to the year
- 32:23Speaker 1: and then unfortunately ended well headed into his summer break
- 32:26Speaker 1: that one weekend early, then everyone else with that injury.
- 32:29Speaker 1: But how do you think Joel's tracking this year? Is
- 32:33Speaker 1: it time for Joel also to make that step up,
- 32:36Speaker 1: for him to move into Moto two?
- 32:38Speaker 2: Uh? Joel's a tough one. I mean, he started the
- 32:41Speaker 2: season so well, didnto, and though through no fault of
- 32:47Speaker 2: his owning, it has been a bit unlucky with injuries
- 32:50Speaker 2: just dognated into the summer break, which is I guess
- 32:56Speaker 2: it can work both ways. You either allow that to
- 32:59Speaker 2: see with you and yeah, a little bit unhappy and
- 33:02Speaker 2: you come out slow out of the blocks going into
- 33:05Speaker 2: the second half of the season, or it's a good
- 33:07Speaker 2: opportunity to reset and rediscover that form on the first
- 33:11Speaker 2: half or the first part of the season. For Joe.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Joel's an interesting one because, through no fault of his own,
- 33:19Speaker 2: his stature doesn't scream to you Moto two rider because
- 33:24Speaker 2: he is it's just a diminutive rider. I mean and
- 33:28Speaker 2: not want to speak, I'm not exactly. He's not one
- 33:33Speaker 2: of those riders like a Colin Veyer or an Autela
- 33:36Speaker 2: over the past couple of years, who are obviously growing
- 33:39Speaker 2: anything they need to move up. You do feel that
- 33:43Speaker 2: Joel maybe could benefit from another year in Moto three,
- 33:47Speaker 2: and because of his size, certainly won't be disadvantaged by
- 33:51Speaker 2: doing another year on a Moto three bike because obviously
- 33:55Speaker 2: that first victory is something that he needs to tick off.
- 33:58Speaker 2: He needs to find that rhythm had been more consistently
- 34:02Speaker 2: on the podium. Let's see, hopefully, as I said that
- 34:08Speaker 2: that injury has allowed him although it was a bit
- 34:11Speaker 2: of a nasty one. I know he's gone back home
- 34:13Speaker 2: to Australia, so hopefully he's got into his room with
- 34:16Speaker 2: his training again, he can get back fit and he
- 34:18Speaker 2: could really attack these first couple three or four rounds
- 34:23Speaker 2: at the second half of the season and rediscover that
- 34:25Speaker 2: mojo we had in the first part of the season,
- 34:28Speaker 2: and then that might be the impetus he needs to
- 34:30Speaker 2: kick off for a big twenty twenty six. But so
- 34:34Speaker 2: far within the paddock, it's pretty interesting that because there's
- 34:37Speaker 2: been everyone was waiting on a resolution of the hot
- 34:41Speaker 2: Pit Martine thing, because that was then going to be
- 34:44Speaker 2: the domino effect of how the rest of the Moto
- 34:46Speaker 2: GP grid shapes up, and obviously the Moto two grid
- 34:50Speaker 2: can't take shape until the Motor GP grid has taken shape,
- 34:53Speaker 2: and then threes the next on the ladder as well.
- 34:56Speaker 2: So there's not been too much talk about the guys
- 34:59Speaker 2: moving up from motos at the moment, other than the
- 35:01Speaker 2: obvious ones of Ruada would we care us The Natter
- 35:05Speaker 2: seems to be moving up as well. So I've not
- 35:08Speaker 2: heard anything in regards to job moving up to Moto
- 35:12Speaker 2: two next year, but I think that's probably the right course.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I think it up and gear with Moto three to
- 35:16Speaker 2: really solidify himself as a regular race winning contender. Would
- 35:21Speaker 2: for me be the best move.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that the Martine story sort of sucked all the
- 35:25Speaker 3: oxygen out of the room for a bit and everything
- 35:27Speaker 3: had to wait its term to turn to develop after that.
- 35:30Speaker 3: But Jack, one more quick one, conscious of your time
- 35:32Speaker 3: here and thank you for joining us this evening. But
- 35:34Speaker 3: I did want to sort of finish on a more
- 35:37Speaker 3: forward thinking thoughe because we know that the Liberty Media
- 35:39Speaker 3: purchase has gone through, and anyone who's lived on the
- 35:43Speaker 3: inside of F one, as I have for a number
- 35:45Speaker 3: of years, it's undeniable the impact that the Liberty ownership
- 35:50Speaker 3: and well, frankly once in one hundred year pandemic that
- 35:53Speaker 3: forced everyone to watch Netflix for six months and we
- 35:55Speaker 3: were all locked at home was the perfect confluence of
- 35:57Speaker 3: circumstances to turn F one to something that is almost
- 36:01Speaker 3: unrecognizable from what it was like eight to ten years ago,
- 36:04Speaker 3: and certainly a long time before that for old people
- 36:07Speaker 3: like moving covering it for a while.
- 36:08Speaker 1: But you know that.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Liberty is in the business of storytelling, which is right
- 36:12Speaker 3: down your street. Because that's why you're in this, this
- 36:15Speaker 3: is what you love to do. It seems like it
- 36:18Speaker 3: can only be a positive outcome. Having someone like Liberty involved,
- 36:20Speaker 3: But what do you feel this is going to do
- 36:24Speaker 3: for the wider Motor GP story in terms of pushing
- 36:26Speaker 3: that out there to a wider audience, Because my theory
- 36:29Speaker 3: with Motor GP, as much as we love it, it's
- 36:31Speaker 3: kind of the world's best kept secret to some degree
- 36:34Speaker 3: in that it's just this unbelievably brilliant sport as it is,
- 36:37Speaker 3: it maybe just needs to be sold and told a
- 36:39Speaker 3: little bit better. Is that what you're hoping that this does.
- 36:42Speaker 3: And in terms of the role that you might be
- 36:44Speaker 3: able to play in.
- 36:44Speaker 2: That, yeah, absolutely. I mean you look at obviously as
- 36:48Speaker 2: you say that Netflix series helps for what Liberty did
- 36:52Speaker 2: through the Netflix series and through their promotion of the
- 36:55Speaker 2: sport was rather than selling every race as a story,
- 37:01Speaker 2: they made people become attached to the personalities to the teams.
- 37:05Speaker 2: And I look at Alagorde at the moment and obviously
- 37:09Speaker 2: if I'm latting to them more often than I do
- 37:11Speaker 2: to my own mom and dad, there are huge personalities
- 37:16Speaker 2: in there which I don't think we managed to get
- 37:18Speaker 2: across well enough. And I know there'll be a lot
- 37:21Speaker 2: of fans out there scared about the growth of the sport,
- 37:25Speaker 2: and some people look at what's happened to Formula One
- 37:29Speaker 2: and maybe see that hardcore fans potentially have a sense
- 37:33Speaker 2: of being pushed out. But I think that the growth
- 37:37Speaker 2: of the sport can only be a huge benefit to it,
- 37:40Speaker 2: and Motor GPS different in a lot of ways to
- 37:44Speaker 2: Formula One. I think for the better. In the hardcore fans,
- 37:48Speaker 2: we will always look after because they've been such a
- 37:52Speaker 2: core supporter for so long. Getting those different faces eyeballs
- 37:59Speaker 2: onto the sport and with that more sponsorship, more finances,
- 38:03Speaker 2: the opportunity to go to different places around the world,
- 38:07Speaker 2: to have the opportunity to sell them on a bigger
- 38:10Speaker 2: market can only be of a huge benefit, and I
- 38:14Speaker 2: think that's the biggest thing. We've got great stories, we've
- 38:16Speaker 2: got great personalities. It's just trying to get that across
- 38:20Speaker 2: to the mainstream media and hopefully with their help that
- 38:24Speaker 2: can happen. It's not an overnight thing. It will take time.
- 38:30Speaker 2: You know, there are small changes happening at the moment
- 38:34Speaker 2: to try and benefit that, but nothing too serious at
- 38:37Speaker 2: the moment. All of the things that we've see right
- 38:40Speaker 2: now are all things that we're in the pipeline. Pre
- 38:44Speaker 2: liberty having some small impact on where we're going, like,
- 38:49Speaker 2: for example, I know that one of the key things
- 38:50Speaker 2: that they want to do is take me to GP
- 38:53Speaker 2: two cities to be able to get a bigger audience
- 38:56Speaker 2: in there. And I think last week we announced that
- 38:59Speaker 2: we're going to be going to there Is in twenty
- 39:00Speaker 2: twenty seven, which I think is a great thing. Into
- 39:04Speaker 2: the city, amazing place. So to have a circuit in
- 39:07Speaker 2: the middle of it will be fantastic one an atmosphere
- 39:10Speaker 2: and hopefully there'll be more of that. But it's easy
- 39:14Speaker 2: in formula one in inverted commas that in a month
- 39:18Speaker 2: they can do a circuit at Albert Park in Melbourne,
- 39:21Speaker 2: they can do a circuit on a strip in Las Vegas,
- 39:24Speaker 2: they can do it around a stadium in Miami. It
- 39:27Speaker 2: takes time for us because we have to have proper
- 39:29Speaker 2: facilities and proper circuits which spring up over night and
- 39:34Speaker 2: right now. Because there's no eyeballs, there's no not that
- 39:37Speaker 2: mainstream success. Nobody wants to be spending millions and millions
- 39:42Speaker 2: of pounds on building circuits in the middle of city.
- 39:45Speaker 2: So it's a step by step process. But I can
- 39:47Speaker 2: only see it as a benefit and hopefully those personalities
- 39:52Speaker 2: are finally sold and people enjoy them as much as
- 39:55Speaker 2: we all do.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well, there you have it. But I think
- 40:01Speaker 1: like you pretty much has hit the nail on the head,
- 40:02Speaker 1: like you've sold me with that, so sure sign me
- 40:05Speaker 1: up for whatever you're selling there.
- 40:07Speaker 2: You're not going anywhere, Renita, I don't think prepare. I
- 40:09Speaker 2: think whatever happens, you're still going to be watching it
- 40:11Speaker 2: in a few years time.
- 40:13Speaker 3: I'm not. I'm not sure we're allowed to go anywhere
- 40:15Speaker 3: and really to wait let me out, so I have
- 40:16Speaker 3: to keep doing this for the rest of time.
- 40:20Speaker 1: All right, Well, Jack, thank you so much for joining
