- 0:45Speaker 2: Just it just occurred to me now? Section thirty one
- 0:49Speaker 2: thirty one flavors you Robins? How have we not seen?
- 0:55Speaker 3: How?
- 0:56Speaker 2: How how have we not seen? Basking Robin's section thirty
- 0:59Speaker 2: one met Yeah, we gotta get on, get our people
- 1:02Speaker 2: on that.
- 1:03Speaker 4: According to the movies, passing Robin knows, so yeah, yeah,
- 1:09Speaker 4: it's been there all along.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yeah. How are you guys doing? Still sick? Yeah?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Oh no, yeah, that that's that crowd is gonna linger
- 1:20Speaker 1: for a while.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Oh man, it's terrible.
- 1:23Speaker 1: If you just have a cold, it's over. When it's over,
- 1:25Speaker 1: it's over. But you have like the full blown type
- 1:28Speaker 1: a flu, ye, then it just you get over it
- 1:31Speaker 1: in a week like it and that ten percent lingers
- 1:34Speaker 1: on for like three more weeks.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I went, I went to UH, I went to karate
- 1:40Speaker 2: UH Monday after our last show, and I sparred for
- 1:45Speaker 2: the last twenty minutes of class, and I thought I
- 1:48Speaker 2: was gonna die. My lungs, my lungs were on fire.
- 1:52Speaker 2: And I haven't been back since. Yeah yeah, oh yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 2: My voice is still ruined. And here's what you know.
- 2:03Speaker 2: You'll you'll take like you'll take all the medicine for it,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and you'll start to feel better. Then you're like, all right,
- 2:09Speaker 2: I don't have to take the medicine anymore, and then
- 2:12Speaker 2: suddenly you feel worse. It's like, yeah, you feel worse.
- 2:15Speaker 2: You're not taking the medicine anymore, exactly right.
- 2:19Speaker 1: It's like people on like psychiatric drugs. It's like, well,
- 2:21Speaker 1: I feel normal now, so I can stop taking my medicine.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Yes, yes, the old, the old med holiday right.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Oh boy, yeah, Daniel, how are you doing.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Oh I'm good.
- 2:39Speaker 4: I was prepping my my pitch for this show, so
- 2:43Speaker 4: I'm pretty excited about it.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I have some I have some minor thoughts too,
- 2:47Speaker 1: but I spent most of my time doing a top
- 2:51Speaker 1: ten list. Okay, I've got that. I've got that ready
- 2:54Speaker 1: for when we do.
- 2:56Speaker 2: As always, as always, i'm very very paired. Pages and
- 3:01Speaker 2: pages of notes. I was up all night creating that
- 3:05Speaker 2: line of my thoughts, and yeah, none of those statements
- 3:12Speaker 2: are true. Amazing, phoning it in as usual.
- 3:17Speaker 1: All right, well we're all literally phoned it in, so
- 3:21Speaker 1: literally you're in good company.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Well, should we get to the to the star Trek News.
- 3:27Speaker 1: This is the part where you tell us about what's
- 3:29Speaker 1: going on with Paramount. Plus it's gonna be.
- 3:32Speaker 2: What's up with them? It's gonna be what's up.
- 3:35Speaker 1: With Starrek News?
- 3:39Speaker 4: Right, and uh, you know last week Scott didn't get
- 3:43Speaker 4: the chance to see it, but we do have a
- 3:45Speaker 4: Paramount sting and since our first news story is about it, it's.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Just circus music because that's all it is. Yeah, lovely
- 3:59Speaker 2: our first new variety.
- 4:01Speaker 4: And it looks like some CBS newstaffers are pretty upset
- 4:05Speaker 4: that Paramount is going to be settling the lawsuit with
- 4:09Speaker 4: President Trump over the sixty minutes lawsuit. This is the
- 4:13Speaker 4: thing that Paramount believes is preventing their merger with Skydance Media,
- 4:18Speaker 4: so they think if they can settle it, that'll make
- 4:21Speaker 4: things a little bit easier for them to then do
- 4:24Speaker 4: their merger. So there was an issue with with a
- 4:30Speaker 4: CBS news piece on sixty Minutes that I'm not too
- 4:34Speaker 4: sure on, but yeah, the merger is being held up.
- 4:37Speaker 4: They're going to settle this lawsuit. Apparently the original lawsuit
- 4:41Speaker 4: was for ten billion dollars, but who knows.
- 4:45Speaker 2: What they settled for out of court.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Maybe you say ten million or ten billion billion billion
- 4:52Speaker 4: with the BEE.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yes, there was a similar lawsuit with with ABC. Yeah
- 4:57Speaker 2: once back that they settled and the majority of that
- 5:02Speaker 2: the majority of that settlement was well, all of that
- 5:05Speaker 2: settlement was legal fees and donations to uh like foundations
- 5:11Speaker 2: like the Presidential Library and stuff like that. And you know,
- 5:15Speaker 2: this is this is the problem with gigantic uh conglomerates,
- 5:21Speaker 2: gigantic companies that have their fingers in everything. Okay, this
- 5:25Speaker 2: this is the news. This is the news portion of CBS, right,
- 5:30Speaker 2: and it's and it's affecting the larger company, the merger,
- 5:34Speaker 2: the entertainment and it's but it goes the other way too,
- 5:38Speaker 2: you have. You know, there's been stories over the years
- 5:41Speaker 2: of you know, new news, you know, news portions of
- 5:46Speaker 2: these companies that we're not gonna We're not going to
- 5:49Speaker 2: cover this story that reflects negatively on this foreign country
- 5:56Speaker 2: because we released a lot of movies over there. I
- 6:00Speaker 2: don't wanna and and that country doesn't have the same
- 6:04Speaker 2: rights and privileges that everyone here does. And and the
- 6:07Speaker 2: government could block the release of this film or whatnot.
- 6:11Speaker 2: So I mean, this is this is kind of a
- 6:13Speaker 2: this is kind of an issue.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Yeah, so what you know, once they settle it, they
- 6:19Speaker 4: might potentially get their merger through. So yeah, that's that's
- 6:24Speaker 4: where we're at.
- 6:24Speaker 2: So I heard, yeah, I heard that that that President
- 6:30Speaker 2: Trump is issuing executive order making Star Trek its own thing. Oh,
- 6:36Speaker 2: he's taken it upon himself to divest it from the company.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And uh and he says Terry Metallis is going to
- 6:43Speaker 2: be the King of Star Trek. I hear, so, I
- 6:48Speaker 2: hear so.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I hear yes, excellent, good I heard.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I heard the Paw Patrol is going to go rob
- 6:56Speaker 2: patrol the border. So ye ye, the new the new,
- 6:59Speaker 2: the new Star Trek company will apparently be based out
- 7:02Speaker 2: of Greenland. Yes, so.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Excellent, excellent.
- 7:08Speaker 4: All right, So our next news story comes to us
- 7:11Speaker 4: from from what is this trekmovie dot com? I believe
- 7:16Speaker 4: it is, yeah, trekmovie dot com. Alex Kurtzman, the Emperor
- 7:22Speaker 4: Star Trek unfortunately, give us an outdate.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Is the outgoing Emperor you think. So I don't know. Yeah,
- 7:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know, man, especially after the reaction of
- 7:34Speaker 4: section thirty one. I don't I don't know, man. But yeah,
- 7:39Speaker 4: so you use an update on the live action comedy
- 7:41Speaker 4: that Tony Newsom is currently working on, that like hotel
- 7:45Speaker 4: resort office comedy that they're I don't get it.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Apparently the nobody gets it.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Yeah, that's part of the problem. Tony Newsom says that
- 7:57Speaker 4: they are still working on it. She's really excited about it.
- 7:59Speaker 4: She's as fans will love it. It's gonna be like
- 8:02Speaker 4: a workplace comedy, kind of like in the vein of
- 8:05Speaker 4: of The Office one.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 4: One interesting update that that uh that that they gave
- 8:14Speaker 4: was that it hasn't been officially greenlit. This is just development.
- 8:20Speaker 4: This is just to get.
- 8:21Speaker 1: All horrible news for the.
- 8:26Speaker 2: So yeah, that statement is what we like to call
- 8:30Speaker 2: walking it back.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes, so so that's that's where we're at
- 8:38Speaker 4: with it. Also, apparently the premise of the show has
- 8:41Speaker 4: shifted from the original pitch, so that means people got
- 8:45Speaker 4: their fingers into it and now it's different.
- 8:47Speaker 2: So yeah, so there you go. That's that update.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Definitely walking it back oh for sure.
- 8:57Speaker 4: And then our last news story comes to us from
- 9:00Speaker 4: Gizmoto and I just wanted to show this since you
- 9:03Speaker 4: know we love food.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Here on Trek Cast.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Apparently we are going to get some interesting Star Trek
- 9:09Speaker 4: foods for the Universal Studios fan fast nights that are
- 9:13Speaker 4: coming up later this year, and they were showing off
- 9:15Speaker 4: some of the Star Trek foods, so that's there. We've
- 9:21Speaker 4: got oken fritters, We've got margarita that has a piece
- 9:25Speaker 4: of eel on it for the off of five Margeria,
- 9:29Speaker 4: that kind of orange one, the blue romulan ale. We
- 9:34Speaker 4: got one target legs and triple Truffle Trio.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I'll tell you what, man. I uh it's been fifteen
- 9:45Speaker 2: years plus. Yeah, and I still think about the Pippius
- 9:49Speaker 2: cloth from Star Trek. The experience, well was that I
- 9:54Speaker 2: have no idea. It was bullet. It was a boneless
- 9:57Speaker 2: buffalo wing. Well, okay, it was. It was fantastic. My
- 10:01Speaker 2: wife used to get the Janeway salad. She loved that.
- 10:04Speaker 2: We still talk about these things now. And there was
- 10:08Speaker 2: the borg Sphere drink, which was just a bunch of
- 10:12Speaker 2: green food coloring and a bunch of mixed alcohol with
- 10:15Speaker 2: a with a clump of dry ice in it so
- 10:18Speaker 2: that it was smoking. Didn't they have like a big
- 10:21Speaker 2: drink called the warp coore Breach, Yes, which was very similar.
- 10:24Speaker 2: I think that one was purple though.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Okay, okay, yeah, I'm not sure what the vulcan fritters are.
- 10:32Speaker 1: They like.
- 10:35Speaker 2: They look like meatballs, which I mean Vulcans are vegetarians, right,
- 10:40Speaker 2: that doesn't.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Mean well the photo at the beginning of the news
- 10:43Speaker 1: story wasn't that wasn't that check off being attacked with
- 10:48Speaker 1: the city alpha slug?
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, which apparently are delicious and soup yummy.
- 10:58Speaker 4: That's this SETI eel margarita.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Okay, Now do you pour it in your mouth or
- 11:04Speaker 2: your ear? What's what's the protocol? Who can say?
- 11:07Speaker 1: Well?
- 11:08Speaker 2: Do you do it?
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah? Part of it you drink, part of it you
- 11:10Speaker 1: pour in your your ear, kind of like uh rom
- 11:13Speaker 1: did to get rid of his ear infection that one
- 11:15Speaker 1: episode of or is.
- 11:17Speaker 2: It like is it like tequila? You drink it and
- 11:19Speaker 2: then and then at the end you fish the worm
- 11:21Speaker 2: out and that goes in your ear.
- 11:23Speaker 1: It's hard to pretty much.
- 11:25Speaker 2: And you're you're not a man. You're not a man
- 11:26Speaker 2: unless you's unless you take the eel.
- 11:29Speaker 1: That's right, that's.
- 11:31Speaker 4: It's like tequila, right, Yeah.
- 11:35Speaker 1: You have to prove your manliness kind of like eating
- 11:36Speaker 1: the puffer.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Fish or whatever.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the side of strength. What do we do it?
- 11:44Speaker 2: This year?
- 11:44Speaker 4: These foods will be available so you can try them.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Is that rot candy that comes with the romulan n aile?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Is that what I'm looking at? That's what it looks like. Yeah,
- 11:52Speaker 2: that's what it looks like. And apparently on target. Huh.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I mean they look like the clear cling on cling
- 12:02Speaker 2: On time crystals. Really they misnamed that one.
- 12:05Speaker 1: There you go.
- 12:06Speaker 5: Yeah, Pepperoni beats nice, those are tark those are those
- 12:14Speaker 5: are tark balls, but uh we call them.
- 12:18Speaker 2: We call them Vorcha mountain oysters for mountains. Yeah good.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I was just not ready to ask what part does
- 12:31Speaker 1: it come off? The animal?
- 12:34Speaker 4: Oh my god, I want to know what the trouble
- 12:38Speaker 4: trios are that like a pastry?
- 12:39Speaker 1: I guess, Well, haven't we talked on the show what
- 12:43Speaker 1: we think the triples are? Without any care, they're like, uh,
- 12:48Speaker 1: what's that? What's that fishy thing you eat at the
- 12:54Speaker 1: not mussel, but something else like a little tiny nugget,
- 12:59Speaker 1: no muscles, rollo. Yeah, scallop. There you go. Okay, yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 1: it's like a scalop. Yeah, that's what that's what a
- 13:07Speaker 1: shorn that's what a shorn. Triple looks like. It's a scallop.
- 13:11Speaker 4: So it's only that big dude, it's just tiny.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Well, there you go.
- 13:15Speaker 4: That's that's that's all the news stories, so.
- 13:18Speaker 1: God, thank god.
- 13:20Speaker 2: So if you order, if you order a six piece
- 13:23Speaker 2: of tribles, yeah, is it a twelve? Is it a
- 13:25Speaker 2: twelve piece by the time they bring.
- 13:27Speaker 1: It, by the time it gets here.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yeah, if you pour water on them, do they grow more?
- 13:36Speaker 1: After one day you have like one million, five hundred thousand,
- 13:38Speaker 1: two whatever.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Yeah, it for a while and you'll get more food.
- 13:43Speaker 2: That's assuming a litter of ten with an average gestation.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, yeah, yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Ah.
- 13:54Speaker 2: You guys ready for this main topic?
- 13:56Speaker 4: No, okay, fair enough, let's go fun will now come out?
- 14:05Speaker 1: Okay, do you mind if I get this out of
- 14:08Speaker 1: the way, I've got.
- 14:09Speaker 4: To tell well, we kind of present what's going on.
- 14:12Speaker 4: So the main topic is, since the section thirty one
- 14:16Speaker 4: was so well it was received, I don't want I
- 14:19Speaker 4: don't want to say well received, as is rotten tomatoes
- 14:22Speaker 4: score has continued to drop. It is now down nineteen
- 14:25Speaker 4: percent with critics sixteen percent with fans. Unfortunately, it is.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Is the lowest rank.
- 14:34Speaker 4: It is the lowest rank Star Trek Show movie by far.
- 14:38Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, it's not really well and you know what,
- 14:43Speaker 2: and you know what the worst part is it's free. Yeah,
- 14:47Speaker 2: it's great. You don't have to go buy a ticket.
- 14:52Speaker 2: If you were even if you were even remotely interested
- 14:55Speaker 2: in this show, you already have paramount paramou. Yes, it's
- 15:00Speaker 2: not it's not free free, but you know, there's no
- 15:02Speaker 2: additional cost. It's so.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Oh, we forgot to mention the holiday before we get into.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's ground again.
- 15:17Speaker 1: We'll have a.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Special uh, we'll have a special Groundhog Day. Uh, bonus
- 15:21Speaker 2: content at the end of the at the end of
- 15:22Speaker 2: the episode, so after the credits, stick around after the credits.
- 15:25Speaker 4: That's right, And I did check. Phil saw the Shadows,
- 15:28Speaker 4: So six more weeks winter.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well, thank god. He's wrongs sixty six percent
- 15:33Speaker 1: of the time.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Which bucks then film because the long Island Phil, he said,
- 15:39Speaker 2: springs right around the corner.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Whoa, whoa, We don't want your discount. Phil talking about
- 15:45Speaker 1: our weather yeah, okay, is he even a is he
- 15:50Speaker 1: even a groundhog? Is it like a like a brown
- 15:52Speaker 1: squirrel pretending to be a groundhog? Get out here with
- 15:55Speaker 1: your get out of here with your knockoff crap.
- 15:59Speaker 2: That's work, all right, So we're okay.
- 16:02Speaker 4: So we're supposed to give our pitches or ideas how
- 16:05Speaker 4: to improve section thirty one, the movie, the show, whatever
- 16:08Speaker 4: it is you're gonna.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Do, turn it off.
- 16:10Speaker 4: That's to the amount of people that put that as
- 16:15Speaker 4: a response when I as on social media, which is
- 16:17Speaker 4: like nope, don't do it. A lot of was just
- 16:21Speaker 4: fund more lower decks, like it's pretty interesting, all right, Scott,
- 16:27Speaker 4: you you had a top ten list?
- 16:30Speaker 1: Yes, yes, First I would like to say, besides of
- 16:32Speaker 1: being Groundhog's Day, today is my wife's birthday. So missus
- 16:37Speaker 1: Strongbeard has turned twenty nine.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Oh nice one, happy birthday, whish.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I wish her a very happy birthday, even though she
- 16:45Speaker 1: told me don't mention it on the show. So I'm
- 16:49Speaker 1: probably gonna be in trouble after this anyway.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Birthday, Yes, happy birthday.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I've got the top ten movies with a better Rotten
- 17:00Speaker 1: Tomatoes score in section thirty Oh man, Wow, at number ten, Now,
- 17:09Speaker 1: to be fair, this was a tie with nineteen percent.
- 17:13Speaker 2: The movie Cats.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Somebody remember Cats that came out a few years ago.
- 17:21Speaker 1: That was a movie version of the Broadway musical Cats.
- 17:26Speaker 1: It was absolutely horrible number nine.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Looking animals do.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like it was just bad all around.
- 17:34Speaker 1: It was just horribly bad all around. Number nine. And
- 17:38Speaker 1: whenever you turn a board game into a movie, it's
- 17:41Speaker 1: obviously going to be a great hit. Battleship. Battleship a
- 17:45Speaker 1: better Rotten Tomatoes score than second thirty one, number.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Eight, hold on, hold on, hold on it that movie
- 17:51Speaker 2: had Rihanna fied? How how could that be your second
- 17:56Speaker 2: thirty one?
- 17:57Speaker 1: Anyway? Right, she was in that, Rihanna, Can you tell
- 18:00Speaker 1: me anything else about that movie? No? Do you remember
- 18:03Speaker 1: anything else about that movie?
- 18:07Speaker 2: I remember that. I didn't. I didn't realize it was
- 18:11Speaker 2: based on the game until like the closing credits or whatever.
- 18:17Speaker 2: And I remember my buddy and I my buddy and
- 18:19Speaker 2: I joking about how, geez, you know, they'll make a
- 18:21Speaker 2: they'll make a movie about it, about anything if they're
- 18:23Speaker 2: doing board games. And the pitch we came up with
- 18:26Speaker 2: was shoots and ladders, right, it was, it was, but
- 18:32Speaker 2: it was a it was a buddy cop film, and
- 18:35Speaker 2: one of them his Last Day was Shoots, and the
- 18:37Speaker 2: other one is last Day was And there's a scene
- 18:42Speaker 2: where you know, the cranky, the cranky old black police
- 18:46Speaker 2: captain is screaming at them, screaming at them, and his
- 18:50Speaker 2: and the line for the trailer sam yelling at them.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Do you think this is a game? See? I would
- 18:57Speaker 2: have gone with like a John Wick style.
- 18:59Speaker 4: He's trying to escape a uh some sort of warehouse
- 19:02Speaker 4: and he's got to go up and down the warehouse
- 19:03Speaker 4: to get out.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Like a labyrinth full of shoots. All right, Okay, Number
- 19:14Speaker 1: eight Mighty morphin Power Rangers. This is the one from
- 19:17Speaker 1: nineteen ninety five. Folks had a better score on Rotten
- 19:21Speaker 1: Tomatoes and section thirty one. Okay, okay, number seven this
- 19:25Speaker 1: is personal for me. Okay, yeah, I wouldn't know. I've
- 19:29Speaker 1: never seen Mighty more from Power Rangers.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but they number the beginning, do they?
- 19:36Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, I'll take your word for it. Very ninety
- 19:40Speaker 1: Number seven Batman Forever had a better Rotten Tomato score
- 19:45Speaker 1: than section thirty one. Number six had a this this
- 19:52Speaker 1: movie had a better score than section thirty one. Superman
- 19:56Speaker 1: three the one with Richard Pryor. Yeah, better score, uh,
- 20:02Speaker 1: number five fitting is Star Trek five, the Final Frontier,
- 20:07Speaker 1: better score. I'm rotten Tomatoes in section thirty one pain
- 20:12Speaker 1: exactly yes, number four the movie Twilight had a better
- 20:19Speaker 1: Rotten Tomato score. Number three the Matrix revolutions Matrix three.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Does everybody remember that one? It was just a giant
- 20:30Speaker 1: garbage bag filled with crap garbage?
- 20:34Speaker 2: Okay, yeahage number two.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Number number two show Girls had a better Rotten Tomato
- 20:46Speaker 1: score than Section.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Thirty Things to Appreciate about Showgirls.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Just okay, yeah, that's it. The two thanks to appreciate
- 20:56Speaker 1: about Showgirls?
- 20:58Speaker 2: Come on, he can't say it's does his birthday? She's okay, Hey,
- 21:04Speaker 2: she wrote a comment. Yes, tell mom, tell you, tell
- 21:09Speaker 2: your mom what those two things are?
- 21:10Speaker 1: Then you Yeah, yeah, I defy either one of you
- 21:14Speaker 1: to tell me what the plot of show Girls was.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I've never seen it, wouldn't.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Know, okay, And the number one movie that has a
- 21:27Speaker 1: better Rotten Tomato score then Section thirty one, starring Star
- 21:31Speaker 1: Trek's own Robert Duncan McNeil, who played Tom Paris Masters
- 21:37Speaker 1: Masters of Universe Right, Masters of the Universe had a
- 21:42Speaker 1: better rotten Tomato score the section thirty one.
- 21:45Speaker 2: That movie is glorious trash. I love it. It's it's awful.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so I think that top ten list illustrates.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Funny story about that film. You know, sometimes you remember
- 22:01Speaker 2: a movie through rose rose colored glasses, yes, and then
- 22:05Speaker 2: and then you rewatch it. Yeah. So I hadn't seen
- 22:07Speaker 2: that movie in about thirty years, and I bought the
- 22:10Speaker 2: DVD and my wife and I were dating each other,
- 22:12Speaker 2: and I was like, you know, I watched this when
- 22:13Speaker 2: I was a kid. It's great. Do you want to
- 22:14Speaker 2: watch it with me? And about twenty minutes into it,
- 22:17Speaker 2: I turned to her and I was like, we don't.
- 22:19Speaker 2: We don't have to, We don't have to finish this.
- 22:22Speaker 2: We could do something else. Like I was embarrassed. I
- 22:26Speaker 2: was surprised. No, bad, it was, but better than section
- 22:30Speaker 2: thirty one. So section thirty one.
- 22:32Speaker 1: You know there's movies that, yeah, you watch them through
- 22:35Speaker 1: rose colored glasses, and then you watch them again and
- 22:37Speaker 1: they they they're still great. You know, I still love
- 22:40Speaker 1: the Goonies. One for me that still stand you know,
- 22:44Speaker 1: it still stands up is a RoboCop. Love RoboCop. Yes, yes,
- 22:48Speaker 1: you know it was great back then and it's great.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Now, fantastic film. If I've said it before, if I
- 22:55Speaker 2: could only watch one film for the rest of my life,
- 22:58Speaker 2: that would be the one.
- 22:59Speaker 1: RoboCop. Yeah, yep, love it.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Would you rather watch Rubo Coop two or Section thirty one?
- 23:05Speaker 1: Oh again, RoboCop two wasn't a horrible movie. Robo Cop three,
- 23:09Speaker 1: on the other hand, was one with the ninja, right
- 23:12Speaker 1: the ninja?
- 23:14Speaker 2: And yeah, yeah that RoboCop three. RoboCop three I only
- 23:18Speaker 2: watched once back in the nineties when it came out
- 23:22Speaker 2: and I and I said, never again.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Says a Johnny five short circuit.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, surgit.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched that about five ten years ago and
- 23:36Speaker 1: it was still a good movie.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, yeah, Dan, do you got your pitch for
- 23:44Speaker 4: section thirty one?
- 23:45Speaker 2: What you would do my pitch for section thirty one?
- 23:48Speaker 2: And it's gonna sound like I'm phoning this in, okay,
- 23:51Speaker 2: and I am. I am kind of phoning it in.
- 23:53Speaker 2: But this is this is a legit truth. I I
- 23:58Speaker 2: did give this a lot of thought. And Section thirty
- 24:02Speaker 2: one doesn't need to be its own show. It doesn't
- 24:06Speaker 2: need to be its own movie, It doesn't need to
- 24:08Speaker 2: be its own show. Not everything needs to have its
- 24:13Speaker 2: own movie or or its own show. There are things
- 24:17Speaker 2: that are popular because they are an aspect. Yes, Flight
- 24:21Speaker 2: of the Navigator is a good movie. Watched it with
- 24:22Speaker 2: my kid about five years ago. Still holds up. There.
- 24:26Speaker 2: There are things out there and concepts out there that
- 24:29Speaker 2: are that are that are good and popular and entertaining
- 24:35Speaker 2: and work well as an aspect of something else. But
- 24:39Speaker 2: on their own it doesn't work all right. Case in point,
- 24:46Speaker 2: We've never had a Klingon show. We've never had a
- 24:48Speaker 2: show just about Klingons because I don't think they could
- 24:52Speaker 2: carry I don't think they could carry their own their
- 24:55Speaker 2: own show.
- 24:59Speaker 1: It's it's funny that is just as racist as that
- 25:02Speaker 1: first officer that dated so okay, Like Klingons wouldn't make
- 25:07Speaker 1: good counselors or and Bulbollians wouldn't make good chief engineers.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I just don't think Klingons can carry their out.
- 25:14Speaker 4: So I listened to a few screenwriting podcasts, and on
- 25:17Speaker 4: one of them, one of the writers mentioned that he
- 25:19Speaker 4: had been working on a wharf comedy show like Star
- 25:26Speaker 4: Trek Next Generation DS nine Wharf. They were pitching a
- 25:31Speaker 4: thirty minute comedy show with him in the early two thousands,
- 25:35Speaker 4: and it just never got off the ground.
- 25:36Speaker 2: But they're scripting. God yeah, but in the same way. Okay,
- 25:41Speaker 2: so you know the Klingons. The Klingons are there for
- 25:47Speaker 2: us to contrast other characters against them. They're there for
- 25:54Speaker 2: you to compare the other characters too, and and and
- 25:58Speaker 2: note and note the differences there for the for the
- 26:01Speaker 2: culture class uh clash, and and a lot of and
- 26:04Speaker 2: a lot of a lot of the different groups are
- 26:08Speaker 2: there the same reason a Ferengi show wouldn't work. Frangie
- 26:12Speaker 2: episode is great. Take us out of deep space nine
- 26:17Speaker 2: for a minute, put uh put seven Ferrangi on a runabout,
- 26:21Speaker 2: send them to U m pocnor uh to to meet
- 26:25Speaker 2: the dominion, and and and trade a Vortza for a movie.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Great episode, hilarious episode. Would I want twenty six episodes
- 26:35Speaker 2: of that? Absolutely not? What I want thirteen episodes of that?
- 26:39Speaker 2: Absolutely not? Ten episodes, absolutely not when I want a movie,
- 26:44Speaker 2: absolutely not. Do I want those one or two Frangie
- 26:47Speaker 2: episodes a season? Hell yeah, I do. Yeah, Same thing,
- 26:50Speaker 2: same thing with the Borg. The Borg would pop up
- 26:53Speaker 2: a couple times a season on TNG Great U Voyageeric
- 26:58Speaker 2: got to be a little much. They were. They were
- 27:00Speaker 2: entire seasons that they were the they were the arc.
- 27:06Speaker 2: But you're gonna have a Borg series. You can have
- 27:09Speaker 2: a TV show where the where all the characters are
- 27:12Speaker 2: are Borg, or a movie where they're all Borg. It
- 27:15Speaker 2: doesn't it doesn't work. Not everything has to be its
- 27:17Speaker 2: own thing. That especially especially when section thirty one is
- 27:21Speaker 2: really the antithesis of everything that we love about Star Trek.
- 27:31Speaker 2: So making them the hero in their own show or
- 27:35Speaker 2: their own movie, it just doesn't work. It doesn't make sense, right.
- 27:39Speaker 2: If you want to have an you want to have
- 27:41Speaker 2: an episode every now and then that deals with them. Okay,
- 27:46Speaker 2: m hm, great, if you wanted to have a series,
- 27:51Speaker 2: I guess I guess the only way I could see
- 27:54Speaker 2: it working is if they did it like an anthology
- 27:59Speaker 2: series and they visit they visited, they revisited events in
- 28:04Speaker 2: Star Trek history, and they show us this is what
- 28:10Speaker 2: happened in the background that you didn't see that. That's
- 28:13Speaker 2: the only Yeah, that's the only way I could really
- 28:17Speaker 2: like a rogue one.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, okay, all right, uh so I do have
- 28:26Speaker 4: a pitch oh boy, yeah, hold on, yeah.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, exact get ready?
- 28:36Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, So I I thought about, you know, the movie,
- 28:41Speaker 4: and what I would do completely scrap the script that
- 28:44Speaker 4: we saw, and I would I would do something completely different,
- 28:47Speaker 4: So I would start the start of the film is
- 28:50Speaker 4: Georgio is chasing a masked person through a space station.
- 28:55Speaker 4: We're running through, you know, through promenades and through Jefferys.
- 29:00Speaker 2: They run out, they run through, they running through walls.
- 29:02Speaker 2: They are not running through walls. We're gonna give that up.
- 29:06Speaker 4: It's actual physical fight there and there and and she's
- 29:09Speaker 4: chasing this person. Uh, there's some fighting and eventually, uh,
- 29:13Speaker 4: the mass person gets cornered and there's a big, long,
- 29:17Speaker 4: drawn out fight. But eventually that person is able to
- 29:21Speaker 4: stick a data rod into a computer terminole, hit a
- 29:24Speaker 4: few buttons and sends out a transmission.
- 29:28Speaker 2: And then when the transmission goes.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Out, it starts going off about uh, the secret organization
- 29:34Speaker 4: within the Federation called Section thirty one. This will be
- 29:37Speaker 4: our reason to explain to the normal people what the
- 29:40Speaker 4: hell Section thirty one is and how bad it is,
- 29:43Speaker 4: and and it also that's right, it'll and along with
- 29:49Speaker 4: the transmission, the all these files are released, like the
- 29:54Speaker 4: genocide that Section thirty one one day to do against
- 29:56Speaker 4: the founders just all these horrible crimes that Section thirty
- 29:59Speaker 4: one did, right, So it's yes, it is wiki leaks, right,
- 30:04Speaker 4: and so so Georgia Georgio removes the mask of the
- 30:07Speaker 4: person and the person underneath the mask is Georgio and
- 30:11Speaker 4: she's like, what the hell is somebody clone me?
- 30:14Speaker 2: What that shit is this?
- 30:16Speaker 4: So she goes back to Section thirty one and she's like, hey,
- 30:20Speaker 4: there was a clone in me and then it disappeared.
- 30:22Speaker 4: I don't know what's going on. Who's cloning me? And
- 30:25Speaker 4: Section thirty one is like, yeah, we don't have time
- 30:28Speaker 4: to deal with that. The Federation is falling apart now
- 30:31Speaker 4: that all of our crimes have been laid out to bear,
- 30:33Speaker 4: a bunch of member pilots are thinking about leaving the Federation.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Our rivals are also saying how terrible we are and
- 30:41Speaker 4: how you know, we have no morality to stand on,
- 30:44Speaker 4: and so now everyone is against the Federation and it's
- 30:47Speaker 4: falling apart within the seams. So they tell Georgio, look,
- 30:52Speaker 4: we have one way to stop this and prevent this.
- 30:56Speaker 4: We have this one cling on time Crystal, because you've
- 30:59Speaker 4: dealt with them before or you know how to use them. Yes,
- 31:02Speaker 4: it can only send you back three days in the past,
- 31:06Speaker 4: and because it codes to you once once you touch it,
- 31:11Speaker 4: you can't just go get another crystal and reuse it
- 31:14Speaker 4: again and have unlimited Groundhog Day inspiring. Right, You've got
- 31:18Speaker 4: one shot at this to go back and fix it,
- 31:21Speaker 4: prevent you know, find your clone stopper, and prevent this
- 31:26Speaker 4: from happening so that the Federation can still stand.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Right, So she goes back in time.
- 31:33Speaker 4: She starts, you know, making her connections with the underworld,
- 31:36Speaker 4: and she starts trying to find out who is trying
- 31:39Speaker 4: to get all this information, and she comes into contact
- 31:43Speaker 4: with who is pulling the strings behind it. It is
- 31:46Speaker 4: none other than a now older This is all set
- 31:49Speaker 4: in like the card timeline, right, like that type.
- 31:54Speaker 2: And she runs so, Georgio is in the twenty fifth century.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Yes, no, yeah, because that the that things said it
- 32:03Speaker 4: was going to leave her, you know before that they
- 32:05Speaker 4: diverged too much, right, so it's her future but whatever. Anyways,
- 32:10Speaker 4: she runs into who's pulling the strings and it's none
- 32:14Speaker 4: other than the Intendant from the Mirror universe. No visitor, yeah,
- 32:20Speaker 4: And the Intendant is like, hey, you're the Emperor. You're
- 32:23Speaker 4: the one who disappeared. Holy shit, what are you doing here?
- 32:26Speaker 2: And so they realize they're both from the Mirror Universe,
- 32:28Speaker 2: different timelines. Yeah yeah, and then and then they make
- 32:33Speaker 2: out it's the Intendant. I mean yeah, of course.
- 32:41Speaker 4: And so basically the Intendant's like, hey, uh, you know,
- 32:45Speaker 4: I left after everything that happened with the Regent. I
- 32:50Speaker 4: did check with the last episode of for this to
- 32:53Speaker 4: make sure this all fits in the timeline.
- 32:55Speaker 2: But uh yeah.
- 32:56Speaker 4: So after the Regent fell, she escaped to our universe
- 32:59Speaker 4: to hide out, and now she wants to make this
- 33:02Speaker 4: universe more like home by making the Federation fall apart.
- 33:06Speaker 4: And once it's torn apart, she can then rise to
- 33:09Speaker 4: power the Intendant, right, but now that the Emperor is there,
- 33:12Speaker 4: she's like, well, I'll do this all for you, Emperor,
- 33:14Speaker 4: of course you're and so Georgio plays coy and he's like, oh, yes,
- 33:19Speaker 4: of course perfect, I'm here to take over with you,
- 33:21Speaker 4: and yeah, we'll deal with what you want to do.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Of course, just trying to get up more information as
- 33:26Speaker 4: what's going on. So you know, there's a little bit
- 33:29Speaker 4: of debating philosophies.
- 33:31Speaker 1: You know.
- 33:32Speaker 4: The Intendant is like, you know, only the strongest survive
- 33:35Speaker 4: and Georgia is like, well, I've learned that, you know,
- 33:37Speaker 4: helping each other out helps build everything. So you have
- 33:40Speaker 4: those battle of philosophies. And then eventually the Intendant gets
- 33:45Speaker 4: all the information and she is going to make that
- 33:49Speaker 4: transmission right because she's the person who's going to do it.
- 33:52Speaker 4: Georgia decides, well, I'm going to stop her finally, once
- 33:54Speaker 4: and for good, and so they have their big, long fight,
- 33:57Speaker 4: and Georgio realizes, well, the Federation cannot stand on a
- 34:02Speaker 4: lie like it just it just cannot. So this information
- 34:07Speaker 4: needs to get out, but it needs to get out
- 34:10Speaker 4: the right way. So Giorgio decides she's gonna release it.
- 34:14Speaker 4: That's why she dons the mask and she goes to
- 34:16Speaker 4: put out the information. And when she puts out the information,
- 34:19Speaker 4: when she fights herself again.
- 34:22Speaker 2: And it goes out.
- 34:23Speaker 4: This time it's all the bad stuff, but it's also
- 34:26Speaker 4: all the good things that section thirty one is prevented.
- 34:29Speaker 4: So now that the truth of of everything is out there, right,
- 34:33Speaker 4: so now the Federation can be like, yeah, we messed up,
- 34:35Speaker 4: Yeah we had our our our our bad side of us,
- 34:39Speaker 4: but here's the reality of everything. From here we can
- 34:43Speaker 4: build a better, more solid foundation for the Federation more
- 34:47Speaker 4: honest one.
- 34:48Speaker 1: So wow, Okay, yeah, I like that. I like that. Yeah,
- 34:58Speaker 1: and it definitely more It's a more plausible sort of
- 35:03Speaker 1: storyline that I can get behind.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Yeah, it's uh, it adds to, you know, to a
- 35:09Speaker 4: few of the other Star Trek series. Right, we got
- 35:13Speaker 4: the Intendant and we got you know, be Plus it's cheap.
- 35:18Speaker 4: You only really need the two of them. It's cheaper
- 35:23Speaker 4: than what we got.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Yeah. So while she has the Time Crystal, yes, can
- 35:31Speaker 2: can she go back and prevent them from making the
- 35:34Speaker 2: movie that we all watched last week? Can we just
- 35:36Speaker 2: do that? I mean, we could do that? Yeah.
- 35:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I was gonna put a line in there too,
- 35:42Speaker 4: like if I had written the script out that one
- 35:46Speaker 4: of the things she worries about is by letting out
- 35:48Speaker 4: all the information she's going to ruin in the future
- 35:50Speaker 4: for Discovery, right because now it.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Helped change that future.
- 35:55Speaker 4: And so what she learns is that through the Time Crystal,
- 35:58Speaker 4: basically it seals off that uni verse into inside that
- 36:01Speaker 4: time crystal, so that thing is still going on in
- 36:05Speaker 4: the crystal. And so that's how the crystals work, as
- 36:09Speaker 4: they're all their own pocket universes within them. Inside whatever.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Oh, those are the same things that are being shown
- 36:16Speaker 1: at the end of the Men in Black movie.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Right, that's right, Okay, gotcha, gotcha. It's been a weak
- 36:23Speaker 2: and I still haven't seen Men of Black Men in Black.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I'm sorry. It's such great shame upon our house.
- 36:29Speaker 1: It's good. It's really fun. Yeah, I mean, how could
- 36:32Speaker 1: you not like Tabby Lee Jones. He's great, his dead pan.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Okay, so, but this also came out in the in
- 36:42Speaker 2: the era where Will Smith had no acting skills whatsoever.
- 36:48Speaker 2: He played Will Smith no matter what you saw him,
- 36:51Speaker 2: and he was Will Smith fighting aliens in a spaceship.
- 36:55Speaker 2: It was Will Smith fighting aliens in sunglasses. And he was,
- 37:00Speaker 2: you know, Will Smith as a cop. Will Smith is whatever. Yeah,
- 37:05Speaker 2: he's come a long way. He didn't throw it all away,
- 37:08Speaker 2: but you know, he's come a long way. But I
- 37:12Speaker 2: don't know. Someday I'll watch it. I guess. Have you
- 37:15Speaker 2: heard the song at least? Right, get get get jigging
- 37:22Speaker 2: all right? That one? Keep going, keep going. I'm not
- 37:25Speaker 2: I know, I know, what can you do a few
- 37:28Speaker 2: more bars?
- 37:28Speaker 4: Please?
- 37:30Speaker 2: Yeah? I know, busted busted chops.
- 37:36Speaker 1: I did not come up with a like a full synopsis,
- 37:39Speaker 1: like you guys did. I did have a couple of ideas, though,
- 37:43Speaker 1: so I think part of the problem with this one
- 37:46Speaker 1: is a lot of people said it looked too much
- 37:48Speaker 1: like Star Wars. It looked too you know, too a
- 37:51Speaker 1: little too gritty, a little too dirty, a little too
- 37:54Speaker 1: you know, right, let's put it back into Starfleet. My
- 37:59Speaker 1: thought was, you know, we've seen a few episodes in
- 38:02Speaker 1: Deep Space nine and in Enterprise where there's a recruiter
- 38:07Speaker 1: trying to recruit somebody else, Okay, and so I thought
- 38:11Speaker 1: it would have been interesting to see Giorgio trying to
- 38:16Speaker 1: recruit a young Lieutenant Garrett into Section thirty one. Now
- 38:21Speaker 1: I don't know why that would be. I'm not exactly
- 38:23Speaker 1: sure what the and it would take place right after
- 38:27Speaker 1: season two of Discovery, so a few years before Captain Kirk,
- 38:32Speaker 1: and there would be a time travel element where it
- 38:35Speaker 1: would be it would sort of be an inter agency
- 38:39Speaker 1: a little bit of turmoil between Section thirty one and
- 38:44Speaker 1: Temporal Investigations, where Temporal Investigations wanted to prevent any time
- 38:49Speaker 1: travel stuff going on, but Section thirty one knew that
- 38:52Speaker 1: this particular case, time travel was necessary, and that time
- 38:56Speaker 1: travel event would be Rachel Garrett going into the future,
- 39:00Speaker 1: she could age up to Captain Garrett in the correct time. Okay, now,
- 39:05Speaker 1: I don't know why she had to go into the future,
- 39:08Speaker 1: but she had to be there for the events of
- 39:10Speaker 1: yesterday's enterprise, and the only way for her to do
- 39:13Speaker 1: that would for her to be thrown into the future.
- 39:15Speaker 1: What fifty years, sixty years, whatever, whatever time would make
- 39:18Speaker 1: sense for her being a human in the age she was,
- 39:21Speaker 1: but it would take place on a starship. It would
- 39:23Speaker 1: take place on a Federation starship for at least half
- 39:29Speaker 1: of the movie, so we would see these familiar elements
- 39:32Speaker 1: that would draw us in a Star Trek fans. It
- 39:34Speaker 1: would be, you know, Georgio coming aboard as some sort
- 39:37Speaker 1: of ambassador, some sort of you know, official capacity.
- 39:42Speaker 4: What Okay, just real quick, what if Rachel Garrett was
- 39:45Speaker 4: already out of time and so she just needs to
- 39:48Speaker 4: return back to her time.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great, but that'd be that'd be fantastic. I
- 39:54Speaker 1: just wanted to see Star Trek in this y and
- 39:57Speaker 1: this and maybe even not like that. We're trying to
- 39:59Speaker 1: go the same plot points, but like one of the
- 40:01Speaker 1: things that section thirty one does is that they go
- 40:04Speaker 1: out and they seek you know, special people, you know,
- 40:07Speaker 1: they could help them. Maybe Rachel Garrett is you know,
- 40:10Speaker 1: we only saw her for a few scenes in that
- 40:12Speaker 1: one episode of the Next Generation.
- 40:14Speaker 2: But maybe the issue, what's the issue with her age?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Why does she have to move through time?
- 40:20Speaker 1: I'm not following it well because nobody knows what to what,
- 40:23Speaker 1: what year Section thirty one took place in and if
- 40:26Speaker 1: it took.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Actually, actually I watched I watched a couple Uh, yeah,
- 40:30Speaker 2: I cheated. I watched a couple of other podcasts. Yeah,
- 40:33Speaker 2: and they put it, uh, it's post Undiscovered Country. So
- 40:39Speaker 2: she did not go back to right when she left
- 40:44Speaker 2: when when the Guardian of Forever, Yeah, when the Guardian
- 40:47Speaker 2: Forever sent her back in time, she didn't go back
- 40:51Speaker 2: to you know, around the time when she left. So
- 40:54Speaker 2: it's not strange. It's not strange New Worlds time. It's hey,
- 40:59Speaker 2: Daniel post post On discovered Country pre encounter at far Points,
- 41:04Speaker 2: so I think is exactly the age she's supposed to be.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, so Daniel, you write stories? Would there would
- 41:14Speaker 1: there possibly been a way at all? Is this even
- 41:18Speaker 1: feasible they could have in section thirty one? I don't
- 41:22Speaker 1: know what's it called when you explain something?
- 41:25Speaker 4: Oh yeah, exposition.
- 41:27Speaker 2: There is a start eight given. We must have missed it.
- 41:31Speaker 2: But there is a start a given.
- 41:33Speaker 1: We all missed it, and we all know that star
- 41:36Speaker 1: dates are, you know, so it would have been nice
- 41:40Speaker 1: to get a little bit.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Of The nerds can decode them. Yeah, the big nerds,
- 41:47Speaker 2: the big nerds, right, we're regular size regular. Apparently I'm
- 41:51Speaker 2: not big enough a nerd. You have one? You only
- 41:57Speaker 2: have one Star Trek podcast.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Yeah, right, okay, So even so, let's let's uh, let's
- 42:04Speaker 1: bring it back to the Federation. Let's bring it back
- 42:06Speaker 1: to Starfleet a little bit. Uh, let's let's not have
- 42:10Speaker 1: all this this rag tag of you know, cyborgs and
- 42:15Speaker 1: mechs and and you know, all these other people. That
- 42:19Speaker 1: was just fan service to see a Delton and a
- 42:22Speaker 1: a comalloid. If it fits within the story, that's that's fine.
- 42:25Speaker 1: If you want to bring one back, bring a Dealton back, Okay, fine,
- 42:28Speaker 1: bring bring a Dalton backer or a story revolving a comelloid.
- 42:32Speaker 1: That's fine. But don't just throw everything into the pot
- 42:35Speaker 1: that you think would be cool. Bring it back to
- 42:37Speaker 1: the Starfleet, you know, have it right, exactly exactly, and
- 42:42Speaker 1: so just rein it in just a little bit and
- 42:45Speaker 1: have it a personal story between Georgio and Garrett and
- 42:49Speaker 1: sort of set her up for it doesn't even have
- 42:51Speaker 1: to be set up for another movie. It's it's setting
- 42:53Speaker 1: her up for whatever we know is going to be
- 42:55Speaker 1: the future. M this is past.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Can I can I redo my pitch?
- 43:01Speaker 1: Yeah? Go for it.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Forget Georgio. It was a bad idea from the beginning.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Just forget forget all that, Forget all about her, forget
- 43:13Speaker 2: about that era of Star Trek's it like Mech Warrior
- 43:19Speaker 2: video game. Yes, there's a Mech in it. Yes, there's
- 43:22Speaker 2: five of them. They go together to form a bigger one. Right,
- 43:27Speaker 2: I would have loved that. So no, my new pitch.
- 43:30Speaker 2: If we're gonna do with section thirty one, you know, yeah,
- 43:33Speaker 2: bring back William Sadler he's still around. Yeah. Set it
- 43:37Speaker 2: in the twenty fifth century, did you have it? Bring
- 43:43Speaker 2: back It's it's section thirty one. Man do whatever they want? Yeah?
- 43:49Speaker 2: Did he die? I don't remember.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Yeah, he died season seven of the Face.
- 43:54Speaker 4: They did inception in his head.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Yeah, he died trying to prevent the cure from getting out.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah, change the cure. All right, but you know Section
- 44:03Speaker 2: thirty one, he's not really dead. Yeah, but yeah, do
- 44:09Speaker 2: it do it twenty fifth century? Do it as an
- 44:13Speaker 2: episode of Legacy, not a movie, it's own series. Yeah.
- 44:20Speaker 1: I came up with the inter like the turmoil between
- 44:25Speaker 1: the two agencies sort of on the fly. But I
- 44:27Speaker 1: think I would like to see like two separate eight
- 44:30Speaker 1: like two separate agencies that we've seen just a few times.
- 44:33Speaker 1: The temporal investigations in Section thirty one sort of butting heads.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and then somebody would get, you know, get
- 44:42Speaker 1: in the middle of it, you know, whether it be
- 44:44Speaker 1: the doctor Peer. It would be a great like buddy
- 44:48Speaker 1: cop movie between Bashir and O'Brien, like they're retired.
- 44:53Speaker 2: You know, yeah, which which one of them is shoots
- 44:56Speaker 2: and which one is ladders? You know, you could do
- 45:01Speaker 2: something kind of cool.
- 45:02Speaker 4: We're like a Section thirty one group needs to break
- 45:05Speaker 4: into like a board cube because some top official has
- 45:09Speaker 4: been recently assimilated and now they want to get that information.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, I like this just something off the
- 45:20Speaker 2: top of my head.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, okay, so you hear that paramount
- 45:28Speaker 1: whoever owns you, who does own them?
- 45:33Speaker 2: At this point.
- 45:34Speaker 1: I don't know. Nobody does. They don't even know. Paramount
- 45:36Speaker 1: doesn't know.
- 45:38Speaker 2: It's so bad. It's so bad.
- 45:41Speaker 1: I do look forward to the next the next section
- 45:45Speaker 1: of news from Paramount, the little Headliner, your head I
- 45:49Speaker 1: like that.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the little the little Stinger.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's great, all right in that way.
- 45:56Speaker 4: Well we should probably get back to feedback.
- 46:01Speaker 2: And yeah, yeah, so let's get there.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Listener feedback.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Do you check for voicemails or any voicemails or I didn't.
- 46:14Speaker 2: I get emails when they come in, so I didn't
- 46:16Speaker 2: encourage anything. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, we had a few voicemails.
- 46:21Speaker 2: The other day. The other show.
- 46:24Speaker 4: Did a put out on all the social media's, Hey,
- 46:27Speaker 4: if you could change something about the section thirty one movie,
- 46:29Speaker 4: what would you change?
- 46:31Speaker 2: Uh?
- 46:31Speaker 4: The vast majority was just don't do it. But but
- 46:35Speaker 4: we did get a few, a few that I was
- 46:38Speaker 4: surprised about. Some people were like, just turn it into
- 46:41Speaker 4: a TV series. You tried to do too much in
- 46:43Speaker 4: one movie, okay.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Others were the.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Give me lower decks instead of section thirty one, and
- 46:56Speaker 4: still other ones were like I would have scrapped it
- 46:59Speaker 4: and done some completely different series.
- 47:02Speaker 2: So there we go yeah, all right, and it's the
- 47:08Speaker 2: Rotten Tomatoes score. It's so bad. It's so bad.
- 47:15Speaker 4: I feel bad for the actors that were in this
- 47:17Speaker 4: movie because, like, you know, they got to see all
- 47:22Speaker 4: this stuff, and what do they think they can't be Yeah,
- 47:27Speaker 4: all right, we got chasmins on the line, so let's
- 47:29Speaker 4: bring them in.
- 47:31Speaker 2: There is.
- 47:33Speaker 3: Hey, hello, every actor's made a bad movie, so like
- 47:39Speaker 3: back in time, like when they first got started, they
- 47:42Speaker 3: all made bad movies. And this one's just going around
- 47:48Speaker 3: the internet because it's so awful. That's the star trek
- 47:51Speaker 3: has the IP attached to it, you know. And it
- 47:55Speaker 3: was like a really bad B movie like Usa up
- 47:59Speaker 3: all type of movie you'd see back in the eighties.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Oh those movies a little more entertaining in one way.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, like toxic, like toxic convenger style, like
- 48:13Speaker 3: you know, like from a film or Yeah.
- 48:16Speaker 2: I don't think anybody.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Like just really bad be movies, especially the guy in
- 48:23Speaker 3: the Mex suit, because that was not a mix.
- 48:26Speaker 2: That was just awful. Yeah, it was pretty bad.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like at least design a suit a
- 48:34Speaker 3: little bit cooler than that. Liked really bad.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Hey, big dumb robot guy was big dumb robut.
- 48:40Speaker 3: Guy at least, yes, he was big dumb robot and
- 48:42Speaker 3: he died, so yeah, and it was kind of worth it,
- 48:46Speaker 3: you know. And the coolest probably thing was that little
- 48:49Speaker 3: micro creature whatever it was.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Yeah, the guy from Ben and Black.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Yes, yes, actually really really liked that alien. I thought
- 49:00Speaker 3: that was kind of a cool idea.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Kevin says.
- 49:03Speaker 4: There's some defending section thirty one, saying it wasn't meant
- 49:05Speaker 4: for Star Trek fans. It's really sad. Why can't we
- 49:08Speaker 4: go to yeah that, Yeah.
- 49:14Speaker 1: It's like making a Marvel movie and saying this is
- 49:16Speaker 1: not really for comic book book.
- 49:17Speaker 4: Fans, right, James t quick, uh, maybe temporal investigations going
- 49:28Speaker 4: to an old Star Trek episodes, rescuing crewman as they
- 49:31Speaker 4: die in the episodes, then recruited, transporting them away into
- 49:36Speaker 4: a new PC, and i AI take old videos and
- 49:41Speaker 4: make it new again.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Oh okay. Yeah, So so they take like, you know,
- 49:47Speaker 1: Lieutenant Carrey from Voyager who dies in the second to
- 49:49Speaker 1: last episode of Voyager. They take all these characters that
- 49:53Speaker 1: you know, they take a minor Yeah, like minor, yeah, exactly. Yeah,
- 50:00Speaker 1: so just at the moment of death, they beamed them
- 50:02Speaker 1: away and it's.
- 50:03Speaker 4: Like, okay, the real suicide squad And could I be
- 50:06Speaker 4: led by Garrick?
- 50:08Speaker 2: You know?
- 50:09Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 50:11Speaker 2: How how cruel? How cruel would that be? Hey, uh,
- 50:16Speaker 2: you were going to die, so we saved you. Uh.
- 50:20Speaker 2: Now you can work for us, never talk to your
- 50:23Speaker 2: family and friends ever again, or we can beat you
- 50:26Speaker 2: back in and you can die as scheduled.
- 50:34Speaker 1: I was just gonna say.
- 50:39Speaker 2: About to tell you you got to go back.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Oh not Damar Deamar can headed up.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it reminds It reminds me of all the there's
- 50:50Speaker 2: a bunch of rubble cop memes out there was they say,
- 50:54Speaker 2: dude literally died at work and they made him come
- 50:56Speaker 2: in the next day. Anyway.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you could have trip commander.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Yes, yes, you have Commander Tucker. That'd be awesome. What
- 51:11Speaker 3: about in died on Picard.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Tashi ensn row.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Uh ja z attacks Eddington.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I like it, you know, like have him.
- 51:27Speaker 3: He's kind of and then he goes after h Well,
- 51:30Speaker 3: Cisco is already dead.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Because he's the Cisco Wayam six who dies in Odo's arms.
- 51:36Speaker 2: That's right.
- 51:37Speaker 3: That would be a good suicide squad.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I want a whole series. I want a series
- 51:44Speaker 2: called Star Star Trek. Way, it's just it's just all.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Yeah yeah against the Magnificent for range. So yeah, that'd
- 51:57Speaker 3: be like a Versus.
- 52:01Speaker 1: And Cass.
- 52:03Speaker 4: Oh gods, the salamander babies and way, youn that's your show, okay?
- 52:12Speaker 3: Ranking is section thirty one the worst episode of Star
- 52:16Speaker 3: Trek worst? You know, I know it's the worst movie,
- 52:19Speaker 3: but would it go down as the worst episode?
- 52:22Speaker 4: It's the worst of like just the overall estimates of
- 52:25Speaker 4: the series is in all.
- 52:26Speaker 3: That because there's really bad episodes out there that Yeah,
- 52:30Speaker 3: I don't know, I have a hard time.
- 52:32Speaker 2: I tried.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Roden Tomatoes doesn't have They started to do TV shows,
- 52:37Speaker 1: but they don't have all of them.
- 52:39Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, they don't have individual episodes as far as
- 52:42Speaker 4: I know. They just have like season one, season two.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Like what about IMDb rankings because IMDb, you know, you
- 52:48Speaker 3: have the personal rankings on there, so.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Yea, I don't know. I don't have to look. I
- 52:55Speaker 2: have IMDb, but I'll take a look. Oh we lost
- 52:59Speaker 2: d in.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Or you just got he was done talking about section
- 53:03Speaker 4: thirty one.
- 53:03Speaker 2: And he's just out.
- 53:05Speaker 3: He's gonna go watch Men in Black now that's right.
- 53:07Speaker 2: Finally he's gonna sing a song.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gonna wear some.
- 53:12Speaker 2: We lose Dan, Yeah, Yeah, he's gonna come back, getting back.
- 53:18Speaker 3: He's gonna be wearing his outfit from the beginning is
- 53:22Speaker 3: a man in black? That orange outfit he had on
- 53:25Speaker 3: it looked awful.
- 53:27Speaker 2: Get yeah right, that's the one.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Anyway, Oh wow, this is interesting. Okay.
- 53:46Speaker 4: Apparently, according to one of reviews, dumb robot I did
- 53:51Speaker 4: an interview where he was reluctant to do the section
- 53:53Speaker 4: thirty one movie as he is a trucky and he
- 53:56Speaker 4: knows fans did not want it. Apparently, Kurtzman explained to
- 53:59Speaker 4: him that Trek is dying.
- 54:02Speaker 2: If Trek is dying, he's killing it. I know he's
- 54:07Speaker 2: been in charge of it for twenty years at this point.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that needs to be a news story. They need
- 54:12Speaker 1: a fire Kurtsman.
- 54:14Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, do you get money?
- 54:16Speaker 1: Do you hear that paramount? As soon as you figure
- 54:18Speaker 1: out who owns you, the next step is to fire Kurtsman.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Is Star Trek supposed to be like a write off
- 54:23Speaker 3: or something like maybe it's the new Bat, Yes, yes,
- 54:27Speaker 3: that's what I'm saying. Or they're trying to like tank
- 54:29Speaker 3: it on purpose? To write it off.
- 54:30Speaker 1: They're gonna tak it and then we're gonna go another
- 54:32Speaker 1: fifteen years without anything, and then in the year twenty forty,
- 54:36Speaker 1: we're gonna get like a resurgence of track.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Well, I guess you guys can do the reviews start
- 54:42Speaker 3: with you know, tos and.
- 54:45Speaker 1: And it. I wouldn't mind there is a law, Yeah,
- 54:49Speaker 1: if there is a lull, I wouldn't mind getting some
- 54:52Speaker 1: listener feedback onto certain episodes. Timeless from Voyager is coming
- 54:56Speaker 1: up for me. I'm gonna rewatch and I'm really looking
- 54:58Speaker 1: forward to it. I wouldn't mind doing doing that like
- 55:03Speaker 1: we've taken We've done like take Me out to the
- 55:05Speaker 1: Hollow Suite and that was a lot of fun.
- 55:08Speaker 4: Krizman said it is dying because it doesn't have younger fans.
- 55:11Speaker 4: I would argue that this is because they make a
- 55:14Speaker 4: star Trek that parents like me won't let their kids watch.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Yeah. I've been saying that for how long we've been
- 55:21Speaker 2: doing this show. I know for years.
- 55:23Speaker 3: You've got to hook the younger audience. It's like you
- 55:25Speaker 3: don't hug the younger crowd.
- 55:27Speaker 2: It's kind of like when you had a show to
- 55:28Speaker 2: hook younger kids. Yeah, and then you you made it
- 55:32Speaker 2: go away.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Well, I don't know were the kids hooked on it? Like, Dan,
- 55:37Speaker 3: did your kids watch it? Scott? Did your kids watch it?
- 55:40Speaker 2: My son watched a few episodes with me and and
- 55:43Speaker 2: kind of lost interest. Yeah, okay if it was if
- 55:46Speaker 2: it was on, he would watch it with me. He
- 55:50Speaker 2: never asked, he never asked to watch it after that.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Yeah, And I guess the thing is, we didn't have
- 55:56Speaker 3: TikTok growing up, right, We had our g I Joe's
- 55:59Speaker 3: and then you had tea, So whatever was on, you
- 56:02Speaker 3: would watch it. Yeah, it's like I'd watch Mattlock. So
- 56:07Speaker 3: and I would watch anything that was on.
- 56:09Speaker 1: So my wife and I were watching the new Matlock.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah, I was watching it the other day
- 56:15Speaker 3: with my wife.
- 56:16Speaker 2: So yeah, it's.
- 56:18Speaker 1: It's good. Yeah, good premise. It's a fun premise. Yeah. First,
- 56:25Speaker 1: Kathy Bates, she's great.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I mean you got a great actress. So,
- 56:30Speaker 3: and it makes sense why it's Mattlock. So it's kind
- 56:32Speaker 3: of funny. It's not like she's replacing matt Lock. Yeah, right,
- 56:37Speaker 3: Like the premise of it, it's it's funny.
- 56:39Speaker 1: So they acknowledged the TV show matt Lock.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Yes, they acknowledged it, so it makes it better. They
- 56:46Speaker 3: don't like she's like she's the best.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Just it's not a recon. Yeah, it's it's something completely different.
- 56:53Speaker 4: It's not The Girl Ghostbusters where Matt Locker doesn't exist anymore.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Yeah no, no, yeah, that was the start of everything
- 57:04Speaker 3: where the reboots were starting to get a little hokey.
- 57:07Speaker 2: There. They also get hoky. Those always gonna be bad reboots.
- 57:11Speaker 3: Yeah, but I know they rebooting Little House on the
- 57:14Speaker 3: Prairie and I'm like, oh, please.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Don't.
- 57:18Speaker 2: House on the Dominion. Yes, that's in the Dominion.
- 57:22Speaker 3: Yes, it's a little House of the Prairie. Is like
- 57:25Speaker 3: perfect the way it is, just ye, don't mess with it.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Every episode is with obedience.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Is life?
- 57:34Speaker 2: Now?
- 57:34Speaker 3: If they could do like Little House in the Prairie
- 57:36Speaker 3: and have it like the Oregon Trail.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Where it's like if everyone dies, everybody.
- 57:44Speaker 3: Aten by a bear, you know, I'm not going, you know,
- 57:48Speaker 3: watch that would be kind of funny, all right. You
- 57:51Speaker 3: know I have Taylor's Shardan, you know he could ride it, and.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Sure, yeah, sure, why not?
- 57:58Speaker 2: You know you know what I want, you know what
- 58:00Speaker 2: I want to happen? What's that I want another season
- 58:04Speaker 2: of The Orville, and I wanted to and I want
- 58:07Speaker 2: it to be fantastic, and I want a bunch of
- 58:10Speaker 2: people to point at it said that that, yeah, people
- 58:17Speaker 2: were doing that.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Well, it's weird that you got a show on another
- 58:22Speaker 3: network and it was better. Yeah, and the problem and
- 58:28Speaker 3: I don't know what was up with Fox Why they
- 58:30Speaker 3: didn't you know.
- 58:32Speaker 4: It's it's not them, it's uh Seth McFarlane just is
- 58:37Speaker 4: too busy with everything else.
- 58:40Speaker 2: I think he.
- 58:42Speaker 3: Inserted himself in there and he really should have had
- 58:44Speaker 3: another captain.
- 58:46Speaker 4: Well, no, it's not just that he doesn't have time
- 58:48Speaker 4: to act. It's it's writing all the scripts, writing, yea,
- 58:51Speaker 4: overseeing that. And he strikes me as a guy that
- 58:55Speaker 4: once he goes down one creative bath, that's all he wants. No, no, no, no, no, perfect,
- 59:00Speaker 4: And it's just like that's where his interest lies, so
- 59:02Speaker 4: he don't want to think about the other stuff.
- 59:03Speaker 2: So like that's why he's all into the Ted movie
- 59:06Speaker 2: shows right now? Right okay? Yeah, yeah, Like he got
- 59:10Speaker 2: an idea. I loved it, and now he's doing that.
- 59:11Speaker 3: It's like, could you do The Orville again? It's like
- 59:14Speaker 3: or takeover Star Trek series something something, yeah, it's like
- 59:19Speaker 3: because nobody's looking forward to the Academy. I've heard one
- 59:22Speaker 3: positive thing about that. That's like everyone it's like, yeah,
- 59:28Speaker 3: you're sad that they don't. Well, you can see you
- 59:31Speaker 3: can get good actors. You got two Oscar winners and
- 59:34Speaker 3: Section thirty one and it was got awful. Yeah Jamie
- 59:38Speaker 3: Lee Curtis and you had Michelle Yo. Yeah, and you know,
- 59:42Speaker 3: OSCARS doesn't mean anything.
- 59:45Speaker 4: If I don't Yeah, I don't think with the Academy,
- 59:48Speaker 4: I don't think the acting will be the problem.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Ye, no, yeah, yeah that's the thing.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Paramount needs to have their own listener feedback section.
- 59:58Speaker 2: Yeah, no kidding, right yeah and fire all right, so
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: yeah they have they have their own listener feedback section.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: They just don't care. I was looking at the comments.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: I was looking at the comments. We talked about this,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: I think in our group text. But there were all
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: these positive comments on all the official UH Facebook pages
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: and whatnot, and you could tell they were deleting the
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: negative ones because you can don't find any negative You
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: couldn't find any negative comments, but you could find negative
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: replies to positive comments, which means whoever's job it was
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: to go through and delete the negative comments. Was doing
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: a half assed job?
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Yeah right, yeah, so they do.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: They do have their own feedback. They just don't care,
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: right yeah.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Or they have bots that like fill it up real
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: quick on positive ones.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: And somebody made a comment about this might be the
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: one where Dan taps out, and you know, I don't know, man,
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know how much more of
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: this I could watch.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Right if Dan, I just watch an episode of nine
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: and you talk about the episode d S nine that
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: week it's starting Academy.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: It's as bad as I'm anticipating it. Mm hmm. I
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: don't know, man, I don't know if I have the
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: time to invest I hear you invest in a show
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: that I don't actually enjoy watching. They did it for
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: five years with Discovery.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: Well it's the bad era of it's the Discovery era,
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: and I think that's what hurts. If it was the picards,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: like after Folcon explodes all that, you know, I think
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: that'd be interesting.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: And you know, it's just love it. It's not just
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: the die hard fans. The casual fans see this too.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: I have a I am a coworker who he had
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: he had a change in his life recently where his
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: his his father in law passed away, so his wife
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: moved down to Florida to live with his mother, to
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: live with her mother, and he's living alone here in
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: New York for another year or two until he can
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: retire and move down there. So he is bored out
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: of his mind. Yeah, So he watches a lot of
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: a lot of stuff, and he's been watching he's been
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: watching a lot of Star Trek, and he's echoing everything
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: that we say on the show. He just finished Picard
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: and Uh, and he agrees one thousand percent that Picard's
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: season three was fantastic. The other two he'll probably never
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: watch him again. Right, So it's not just it's not
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: just the nerds with the podcasts. It's regular people feel
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: the same way about these things, and they just they
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: don't care.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, oh take no paramount.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Yeah, Dan, And you know, I heard you listen to
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: other podcasts now with what's going on.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Oh, I know he's heard it. It's not you, it's me.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: He figured that out there earlier.
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, it's mostly uh, it's mostly just whatever YouTube
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: videos come up in the feed. Yeah, I listened to them.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: I listened to them on my drive to work. I
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: don't even watch man.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: If you listen to Robert Meyer Brenette, Oh my god,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: he rips it like, yeah, a good one.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: I don't even know that. I don't even know the
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: names of these shows.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: These yeah, these, I.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Mean there's a couple like, uh, what is it screen crush?
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, with the guy with the dog. And
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: you know, I love quite a bit, do you know
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Steve Schives? Yeah, yeah, So I listened to about half
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: of his his review of section thirty one, and he
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: really did have much nice to say about it either. Yeah,
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: and he's he's uh, he's a pretty big fan of
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: h of modern modern track.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Yeah, trek cast the previous generation.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: I know, I saw that.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: That's what that's what we should change. The day of
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: the podcast, yeah, you know, I'm doing a voyager rewatch.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: So I started listening to the Delta Flyers with Robert
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Duncan and garretyah. And so you know, as I watched
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: the I'll watch the episode, then I'll listen to the podcast.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it's figuring. I like episodes like that because I
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: kind of you know, there was an old one that's
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: no more and you have to find it on the
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: Archives Nightman on the podcast and they review DS nine
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: and it's kind of funny because I will that's how
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: I found trek cast was because of that show. Oh
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: they started like two thousand and eight and then they
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: ended in I think twenty twelve.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Yes, the Gamma Quadrant.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a Gamma quadrant.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, I've.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Heard of that. Well. Speaking of finding trek Cast, I
