Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: This podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:13Speaker 2: conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer new Arthan. Today
- 0:16Speaker 2: we're joined by Cory, John, Marge, Max, Nate and Sarah.
- 0:20Speaker 2: This is a ten round quiz show with questions from
- 0:22Speaker 2: meat eaters for verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation and cooking,
- 0:26Speaker 2: and there is a prize. Media will donate five hundred
- 0:29Speaker 2: dollars to the conservation organization of the winners choosing. We
- 0:32Speaker 2: have an I f a Q this week. If you
- 0:34Speaker 2: have an I F a Q, send it to Trivia
- 0:36Speaker 2: at the medieater dot com with the subject line I
- 0:38Speaker 2: F a Q. Skyler Brammer says, I would get discouraged
- 0:43Speaker 2: losing all the time to Brody and Randall. Do then
- 0:47Speaker 2: did the Jabronis get sad? Never consider not playing?
- 0:50Speaker 3: No, no, very frustrated.
- 0:53Speaker 4: It's a nice break from the other work and you
- 0:57Speaker 4: just gotta have fun with it and embrace it your bone.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Well, it's it's only Jabroni's here today, so there is
- 1:05Speaker 2: no Brodie or Randall to lose to.
- 1:06Speaker 5: Here's a question, what if you were to win the
- 1:11Speaker 5: like Jibbroni Championship.
- 1:13Speaker 6: Huh?
- 1:14Speaker 5: Like Corey Corey, does he get an invite to the
- 1:16Speaker 5: real Championship? Yeah, yeah, I think so, And then what
- 1:18Speaker 5: if he won the real Championship.
- 1:20Speaker 2: He's not at Gabroni anymore.
- 1:21Speaker 3: It's kind of like that what was that soccer team that.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Get Spurs or whoever ted Lasso?
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know what that is. I don't think that.
- 1:32Speaker 7: Also, according to Nate, there will be blood is quote
- 1:34Speaker 7: whack I watched, Like, go watch it if you haven't
- 1:38Speaker 7: seen it.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Nate came in with a real Jabbroni take this morning,
- 1:42Speaker 2: telling Phil that he didn't like that movie.
- 1:44Speaker 3: No, I didn't say that at all. I enjoyed it,
- 1:46Speaker 3: but it was whack.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Okay, so six Jabroni's in the room today, no Brody
- 1:52Speaker 2: or Randall to defeat them, And we have some housekeeping.
- 1:55Speaker 2: On a previous episode of Trivia, we had a question
- 1:58Speaker 2: about what item for companies will for deer hides. The
- 2:01Speaker 2: correct answer was gloves, but a few listeners wrote in
- 2:04Speaker 2: saying they know of businesses that will do the exchange
- 2:07Speaker 2: for a knife instead of gloves, and the day we played,
- 2:11Speaker 2: Marge said knife but did not get credit for a
- 2:14Speaker 2: correct answer. So we're fixing that today, Margie, you got
- 2:18Speaker 2: that one right for saying knife well done.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Great, I still lost.
- 2:23Speaker 2: She got one more extra price. Two weeks removed some
- 2:27Speaker 2: more housekeeping. Also, we have a brand new game over
- 2:30Speaker 2: on the media to website. On Mondays we have meat
- 2:33Speaker 2: Eater Turtle. It's like worda but better. On Wednesdays we
- 2:36Speaker 2: have meat Eater crossword puzzles, and now on Fridays we
- 2:39Speaker 2: have Meat Eater Word Search. Word search might sound elementary,
- 2:46Speaker 2: but I think it is the hardest we have between
- 2:49Speaker 2: all three games because, unlike most word searches, we don't
- 2:52Speaker 2: tell you what words you're searching for. We just tell
- 2:55Speaker 2: you the theme of the words, and it's your job
- 2:58Speaker 2: to find them. The first three word search are available
- 3:00Speaker 2: on our website right now. The theme of the first
- 3:03Speaker 2: one is phishing lures, the second one is boone and
- 3:05Speaker 2: crocket whitetail states, and the third one is birds. So,
- 3:09Speaker 2: for example, you know that you're searching for the top
- 3:12Speaker 2: five boone and crocket whitetail states in the grid of letters,
- 3:16Speaker 2: but we don't tell you what those states are. We
- 3:18Speaker 2: always provide crew member scores for you to go head
- 3:21Speaker 2: to head with. For crosswords, it's Randall. For Turtle, it's Yannis,
- 3:25Speaker 2: and for word search, it's Nate. So head over to
- 3:27Speaker 2: the media Slash games to check out word Search and
- 3:31Speaker 2: see if you can best Nate Mason. New games drop
- 3:35Speaker 2: three times a week.
- 3:36Speaker 8: How's it been, Nate?
- 3:37Speaker 3: It's hard? Yeah, yeah, I like it.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I can see how long folks men playing the each
- 3:43Speaker 2: individual game. Word Search takes people the most amount of
- 3:46Speaker 2: time to finish.
- 3:47Speaker 8: I could see that.
- 3:48Speaker 2: So Nate is being a good guinea pig for us,
- 3:50Speaker 2: and he's volunteering his score out there every week for
- 3:54Speaker 2: people to go and destroy and say, hah, Nate better
- 3:58Speaker 2: than you.
- 3:59Speaker 3: It's scared. Don't care about the strangers, but I care
- 4:01Speaker 3: about my older brother.
- 4:05Speaker 9: Dude.
- 4:05Speaker 3: We have so many ongoing.
- 4:09Speaker 2: So Natives played the first one's fishing lures boone and crocket,
- 4:12Speaker 2: white tail states and birds. Which one was the hardest
- 4:15Speaker 2: between those three? Oh, fishing lures boone and crocket For me, States,
- 4:21Speaker 2: if anyone knows about my knowledge, the fishing lures was tough.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, that's a hard one for me.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I bet fishing lures and birds were the toughest
- 4:29Speaker 4: because there's only there's only fifty states to choose from sure.
- 4:34Speaker 3: The problem is you get stuck.
- 4:36Speaker 5: You're like, Okay, I think you know, I think Indiana
- 4:39Speaker 5: or what fill in the state is a Boon and
- 4:41Speaker 5: Crockett state, and so you're looking for Indiana and then
- 4:43Speaker 5: turns out it's not, and then that's It's tricky, dude,
- 4:46Speaker 5: It's tricky.
- 4:47Speaker 2: So we are now giving you a lot of ways
- 4:48Speaker 2: to kill time at that desk job you really hate.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Go over to the meat eater dot com slash games.
- 4:55Speaker 2: New games showing up Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Shelby
- 5:00Speaker 2: Index for today is a three. So I think you
- 5:07Speaker 2: guys have it in you. I think they'll do well.
- 5:08Speaker 8: I'm gonna win.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Now look at these and with that, the game of Trivia.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Play the drop bill.
- 5:15Speaker 8: It's gonna make my head hurt.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Max has put on Brodie's class.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Just time to win everything.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Game on what's that doing to your eyesight?
- 5:34Speaker 8: Over there?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Question one? The topic is woodsmanship and this will be
- 5:40Speaker 2: multiple choice. When is the windiest part of a day?
- 5:45Speaker 2: Is it morning, middle of the day, evening, or middle.
- 5:49Speaker 7: Of the night.
- 5:53Speaker 2: When is the windiest part of a day? Your four choices? Morning,
- 5:58Speaker 2: middle of the day, evening, middle of the night.
- 6:04Speaker 6: I gotta take a better photo for Brody.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Max has some readers that were attached to Brody's microphone
- 6:12Speaker 2: pushed all the way down to the end of his nose.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Question one win is the windiest part of a day morning,
- 6:20Speaker 2: middle of the day, evening, middle of the night are
- 6:24Speaker 2: our jab Broni's Ready, go ahead and reveal your answers,
- 6:28Speaker 2: Nate says, evening, Cory, middle of the day, Sarah, Middle
- 6:32Speaker 2: of the day, John morning answer, Max, middle of the night,
- 6:37Speaker 2: March middle of the day. The correct answer is middle
- 6:43Speaker 2: of the day, three of our ja Broni's, Cory, Sarah,
- 6:47Speaker 2: and Marge got that one right. The afternoon is windiest
- 6:51Speaker 2: because the sun heats the ground, which causes warm air
- 6:53Speaker 2: to rise and create turbulence. This process is called vertical mixing,
- 6:58Speaker 2: which draws strong winds from high altitudes down to the surface.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Then at night, the ground cools and the air stabilizes.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Winds are typically strongest on sunny days. I think I've
- 7:09Speaker 2: lived in Bozeman for seven years. Now we are in
- 7:11Speaker 2: the windiest two week stretch. It's unbelievable my life here.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Have you guys lost anything? And these winds for reference,
- 7:17Speaker 2: we had ninety mile an hour winds in the in
- 7:19Speaker 2: the valley the other day. If you guys lost anything important,
- 7:22Speaker 2: a grill cover, a grill cover, Sarah, you lost a
- 7:25Speaker 2: grill cover as.
- 7:25Speaker 9: Well, lost a grill cover?
- 7:26Speaker 6: Yeah, dang.
- 7:27Speaker 7: I had a neighbor lose a trampoline.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Oh, like gone gone or has it been found?
- 7:31Speaker 7: It was found, but it went over the fence and
- 7:33Speaker 7: the Navy started and crashed into their ships. So they
- 7:37Speaker 7: might know some money.
- 7:38Speaker 10: Yeah, my kids basketball hoop isn't round anymore?
- 7:42Speaker 7: Like egg shape.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Fell over hit there, Yeah, there is, it was. It
- 7:46Speaker 2: also happened on recycling day, so I didn't try taking
- 7:51Speaker 2: our bin out to the UH to the curb, but
- 7:53Speaker 2: other folks did and so now there's just recycling all.
- 7:56Speaker 9: I saw a post in UH.
- 7:58Speaker 2: That was my neighborhood a Facebook.
- 8:01Speaker 9: Someone was like someone needs to take their all their
- 8:05Speaker 9: trash out.
- 8:05Speaker 2: They jumped it all over the yard. That was our
- 8:08Speaker 2: local celebrities.
- 8:10Speaker 9: Five miles an hour.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that's our local yes, influencer, that was.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Created some good drama.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I don't remember remember.
- 8:24Speaker 3: That's really.
- 8:26Speaker 7: There will be no scratching of anything, no censorship, question him.
- 8:32Speaker 2: You'll know, Marge Barge bath in appearance and hipsters and back.
- 8:36Speaker 1: In the years ago.
- 8:40Speaker 6: Chester Chester gets called out all the time.
- 8:43Speaker 9: They like chest I always get a little word of
- 8:46Speaker 9: wearing like first like camouflage. Oh yeah, Every once in
- 8:50Speaker 9: a while there's someone like two guys at a street
- 8:52Speaker 9: corner wearing like.
- 8:54Speaker 6: Camels, puffies. Sure don't be wearing a cowboy hat, March.
- 8:58Speaker 2: What were you wearing when they when they got you?
- 9:02Speaker 1: I had.
- 9:03Speaker 2: It's typically about what your outfit is, that's like what
- 9:05Speaker 2: they're looking for.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I had white platform Doc Martin's on which probably were
- 9:09Speaker 1: the dead giveaway, some high rise like Carhart looking pants
- 9:15Speaker 1: and then just like a T shirt.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Marge is just too stylish.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I don't it wasn't. I think it was the boots.
- 9:21Speaker 6: They were cool.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I felt honored. There you go.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Question to the topic is hunting. This is our listener
- 9:30Speaker 2: question of the Week, which was won by Daniel Nichols
- 9:33Speaker 2: for sending this great question. Daniel is going to get
- 9:35Speaker 2: a board game signed by the crew. If you want
- 9:37Speaker 2: a chance to win our listener Question of the weeks
- 9:39Speaker 2: and send, then send your question to Trivia at the
- 9:41Speaker 2: meat Eater dot com. This canine whose nine letter name
- 9:46Speaker 2: translates to badger dog was bred to fight badgers in
- 9:50Speaker 2: their dens below ground.
- 9:54Speaker 9: Hmm.
- 9:55Speaker 2: This canine, whose nine letter name translates to quote badge
- 10:00Speaker 2: your dog was bred to fight badgers in their dens
- 10:03Speaker 2: below ground. Broni's look stumped, except for Sarah. She already
- 10:09Speaker 2: has an answer. Sarah, do you have an answer with
- 10:11Speaker 2: nine letters?
- 10:12Speaker 9: It does have nine letters. I think it's misspelled, but
- 10:15Speaker 9: it's ok I think right. Shout out Leslie, terrified of
- 10:19Speaker 9: these dogs?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Oh all right, there's a hint if you know Sarah's family.
- 10:24Speaker 2: This canine, whose nine letter name translates to badger dog
- 10:28Speaker 2: was bred to fight badgers in their dens below ground. Sarah,
- 10:33Speaker 2: the only Jabroni with an answer so far, nine letter name.
- 10:41Speaker 8: I'm just I can't think of five dog names right now.
- 10:45Speaker 6: Dog guy Max, Yeah, but I just can't.
- 10:47Speaker 8: It's I don't know if this glasses or it's just.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Corey. Do you have an answer you like?
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 10:52Speaker 10: I think it's pretty good.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Okay, it's spelled correctly. You of our Jabroni's are feeling confident.
- 10:57Speaker 2: This canine, who's nine letters name translates to badger dog
- 11:02Speaker 2: was bred to fight badgers in their dens below ground.
- 11:05Speaker 3: How cool?
- 11:06Speaker 8: Mm hmm.
- 11:08Speaker 9: There's a great book that talks about the American Kennel
- 11:11Speaker 9: Club like dog shows. They go through like breed history,
- 11:15Speaker 9: huh and conformity and all that. If you're a dog nerds,
- 11:20Speaker 9: good one to read the A. K. C.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Is who helped me write this flavor text today.
- 11:25Speaker 9: They know some things about dogs.
- 11:27Speaker 11: Mm.
- 11:28Speaker 2: How you doing? Max?
- 11:30Speaker 10: Those glasses could be a little sticker.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Can we get march at the door? We had a
- 11:36Speaker 2: couple of Mars there.
- 11:37Speaker 3: This one's not much better.
- 11:39Speaker 2: There we go, Okay, I know when.
- 11:43Speaker 4: When when you say the correct answer, I'm just like,
- 11:45Speaker 4: why didn't.
- 11:45Speaker 8: I think that?
- 11:46Speaker 3: I think my uncle has one.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Okay, this one doesn't work either.
- 11:55Speaker 2: We need another replacement that concentration. This canine, whose nine
- 12:05Speaker 2: letter name translates to badger dog was bred to fight
- 12:09Speaker 2: badgers in their dens below ground. Corey and Sarah are
- 12:13Speaker 2: coming out of the gate hot. They think they're going
- 12:15Speaker 2: to be two questions correct. Okay, do you think it
- 12:20Speaker 2: could be a dog that was bred to fights badgers?
- 12:24Speaker 2: It's definitely right, right, but uh, a lot of you racing's.
- 12:31Speaker 9: A lot of added letters.
- 12:36Speaker 2: John, Max and Nate are stumped. You always give up. Yet, Yeah,
- 12:44Speaker 2: Nate's uncle is going to be disapplated him. Go ahead
- 12:47Speaker 2: and reveal your answers. We have Nate without an answer.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Corey says Rott Wilder, Sarah says docks and John without
- 12:56Speaker 2: an answer. Max says ship Zuo. Maggie says schnauzers. Why
- 13:02Speaker 2: they're so It's correct answer is dost one right.
- 13:10Speaker 1: That's why.
- 13:10Speaker 9: That's why they are the shape there. Even though they
- 13:13Speaker 9: don't hunt badgers anymore. They're long and skinny because people
- 13:16Speaker 9: used to pull them.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Out of the Yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Germans started to shape the docks and breed in the
- 13:21Speaker 2: late seventeenth century. Their goal was to create a dog
- 13:24Speaker 2: that's low to the ground, has a long rib cage,
- 13:27Speaker 2: and has a well hinged jaw with large teeth. The
- 13:30Speaker 2: docson's job was to chase badgers into their dens and
- 13:33Speaker 2: then drag them back to the surface. But what made
- 13:35Speaker 2: those first docks and such good hunters also made them
- 13:38Speaker 2: difficult to train. As one early breeder said, quote, doxins
- 13:43Speaker 2: even disobey me when I instruct them to do something
- 13:45Speaker 2: they want to do. Does your uncle have a doxon?
- 13:48Speaker 3: No, it's my godmother She's got four of them, and
- 13:51Speaker 3: they'll pee.
- 13:51Speaker 2: All over, just as Henry as those O G dosins
- 13:58Speaker 2: that were hunting badgers. Question three, The topic is fishing.
- 14:03Speaker 2: This boat motor Company with a planetary name was founded
- 14:06Speaker 2: in nineteen thirty nine. Have their swagger back. Max likes
- 14:14Speaker 2: his answer. John is quick to answer. Corey has an answer.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I bet, I bet Shelby got this one right. You
- 14:20Speaker 2: remember she did not get this one right now. This
- 14:23Speaker 2: boat motor Company with a planetary name was founded in
- 14:27Speaker 2: nineteen thirty nine.
- 14:28Speaker 7: I know we've moved on, but Spencer asked me to
- 14:30Speaker 7: show this picture.
- 14:31Speaker 8: So, oh, yeah, one of.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Those little badger beard on them.
- 14:36Speaker 6: Yeah, I haven't seen one with the beard now.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I would yeah that an old black and white photo
- 14:41Speaker 2: like that. Now, I'm like, okay, that looks like a
- 14:43Speaker 2: badger hunter. They would go to large.
- 14:46Speaker 7: Yeah yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Soft overtime.
- 14:49Speaker 1: A terrible.
- 14:53Speaker 4: I feel like Brodie, because Brodie's constantly like this the whole.
- 14:56Speaker 8: Time, like looking at that.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Start.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like his neck would start hurting, you know,
- 15:03Speaker 4: I just like I was looking out.
- 15:06Speaker 2: This boat motor Company with a planetary name was founded
- 15:10Speaker 2: in nineteen thirty nine. Max, do you like Marge's answer,
- 15:13Speaker 2: I'd love it, okay, because everybody Randall's thrown me off. Yeah,
- 15:20Speaker 2: go ahead and reveal your anwer. Nate says, The rest
- 15:26Speaker 2: of the room says Mercury they got it. The correct
- 15:29Speaker 2: answer is Mercury Marine.
- 15:33Speaker 8: John's Boy to get more stupid.
- 15:37Speaker 2: The company was originally Outdoors Friends, but later changed to
- 15:43Speaker 2: Mercury Marine. Brand skyrocketed during World War Two when they
- 15:47Speaker 2: designed the best chainsaw on the market and won a
- 15:50Speaker 2: government contract to produce them for the army. Their chainsaws
- 15:53Speaker 2: were able to cut through a twenty four inch log
- 15:55Speaker 2: in seventeen seconds, with the closest competitor being at fifty
- 15:59Speaker 2: two second.
- 16:00Speaker 8: It's amazing.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Fun fact question for the topic is natural history. This
- 16:04Speaker 2: next great question is via Adam Smith. The Oregon Trail
- 16:08Speaker 2: passes by Chimney Rock, Courthouse Rock, and Scott's Bluff while
- 16:13Speaker 2: moving through this state, so we're looking for the name
- 16:17Speaker 2: of the state. The Oregon Trail passes by Chimney Rock,
- 16:22Speaker 2: Courthouse Rock, and Scott's Bluff while moving through this state.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Max already has his answer, Max, do you have this
- 16:29Speaker 2: one right?
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yes?
- 16:29Speaker 5: I don't feel like since he's got it at.
- 16:37Speaker 2: The Oregon trail passes by Chimney Rock, Courthouse Rock, and
- 16:41Speaker 2: Scott's Bluff while moving through this state.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna take that hint to play the party.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Assume there's a leason. Max knows this. Now it's influencing
- 16:55Speaker 2: some answers in the room.
- 16:57Speaker 8: I want to give everyone a hint. I'm not gonna
- 17:00Speaker 8: because I'm losing.
- 17:01Speaker 2: It's a competitive game. This is question four. The Oregon
- 17:05Speaker 2: Trail passes by Chimney Rock, Courthouse Rock, and Scott's Bluff
- 17:09Speaker 2: while moving through this state. Okay, Corey, how do you
- 17:19Speaker 2: like your anti I don't.
- 17:21Speaker 8: That's not good.
- 17:22Speaker 10: When they played the video game, I don't remember where
- 17:25Speaker 10: they were going.
- 17:26Speaker 6: Well, they were going to Oregon, but what passes through?
- 17:33Speaker 10: Where were they? Where's the trail?
- 17:36Speaker 3: I could see it. The organ is now interposed on maps.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Well, Chimney Rocks.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Times up, Spencer, forgive me, but they passed through multiple states, right, multiple?
- 17:48Speaker 10: Yeah, we're trying to narrow this.
- 17:50Speaker 3: They could have started an organ.
- 17:51Speaker 10: There's Chimney Rocks all over there.
- 17:53Speaker 8: There's only one Chimney Rock.
- 17:55Speaker 10: I guess it all right, Times out, Spencer.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Coy, Yeah, go ahead, head and reveal your answers. Nate
- 18:02Speaker 2: says South Dakota. Cory says Nevada, Sarah North Dakota, John,
- 18:08Speaker 2: South Dakota, Max Nebraska, Marge, South Dakota. The correct answer
- 18:14Speaker 2: is Nebraska, Max, and only Max got that one right.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And there is a map of Nebraska on our wall
- 18:22Speaker 2: about eight feet in the.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Scott Scott's Bluff is like, uh, Scott's.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, there's like twenty thousand people who lived. Why do
- 18:30Speaker 2: you know about the biggest I spent a lot.
- 18:32Speaker 8: Of times Scott's Bluff hunting.
- 18:35Speaker 2: And they just had like a true crime thing play
- 18:37Speaker 2: out there at Scott's Bluff National Monument where a dead
- 18:40Speaker 2: body turned up of a dude who like walked away
- 18:44Speaker 2: from a family gathering. People suspected the in laws. They've
- 18:47Speaker 2: ruled it an accident anyway. That just all played out
- 18:49Speaker 2: a few weeks ago. The Oregon Trail goes through six
- 18:52Speaker 2: dates Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon. The trail
- 18:57Speaker 2: enters Nebraska from Kansas, following the Little Blue River until
- 19:01Speaker 2: it hits the Platte River. It was here that travelers
- 19:04Speaker 2: would encounter thousands of bison, which gave them fresh meat
- 19:07Speaker 2: to eat and buffalo chips to burn. Question five. The
- 19:11Speaker 2: topic is biology. This four letter word refers to the
- 19:16Speaker 2: thin walled pouch at the base of a bird's esophagus
- 19:20Speaker 2: where food is stored before entering the stomach. This four
- 19:26Speaker 2: letter word refers to the thin walled pouch at the
- 19:30Speaker 2: base of a bird's esophagus where food is stored before
- 19:34Speaker 2: entering the stomach. The working masks think he's got two
- 19:40Speaker 2: in a row, in a row. Okay, we're gonna get
- 19:44Speaker 2: a scoreboard update from Fill the engineer.
- 19:46Speaker 6: I think.
- 19:46Speaker 8: I think in beer pong, you call that on fire.
- 19:49Speaker 2: He was heating up. Now he's on fire. Throw him
- 19:54Speaker 2: the ball back. This four letter word refers to the
- 19:58Speaker 2: thin walled pouch at the base of a bird's esophagus
- 20:02Speaker 2: where food is stored before entering the stomach. Max has
- 20:06Speaker 2: now passed the glasses to Nate see if the power
- 20:10Speaker 2: is indeed the lenses. Max likes his answer, John, do
- 20:16Speaker 2: you have this one right? I think, Sarah, do you
- 20:18Speaker 2: have this one right? Marge? Do you have this one right?
- 20:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 20:21Speaker 2: Okay, say they have this one. I'm just gonna give
- 20:28Speaker 2: myself and Nate are not easy. Easy. Four letter word
- 20:35Speaker 2: refers to the thin walled pouch at the base of
- 20:37Speaker 2: a bird's esophagus, where food is stored before entering the stomach.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Corey and Nate, it's not a gizzard.
- 20:49Speaker 3: That's what I thought, and then counted them.
- 20:52Speaker 8: It's a gizz.
- 20:57Speaker 6: The colloquial term O come.
- 21:00Speaker 8: On all right, times up?
- 21:02Speaker 3: Give me give me ten seconds, Nate.
- 21:04Speaker 2: I like the the glasses, though.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I usually wear glasses.
- 21:08Speaker 8: Four eyes.
- 21:10Speaker 2: This four letter, thin walled pouch at the base of
- 21:14Speaker 2: a bird's esophagus, where food is stored before entering.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Remind me to tell you about my eye surgery.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Crazy, I can't remember. Corey, did you give up?
- 21:22Speaker 3: It's your brain.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answer, Nate says sack Corey
- 21:28Speaker 2: without an answer. The rest of the room says crop.
- 21:31Speaker 2: They got it. The correct answer is crop. When a
- 21:35Speaker 2: bird swallows food, it goes from the throat to the
- 21:38Speaker 2: esophagus to the crop, to the first stomach to the gizzard.
- 21:42Speaker 2: The flexibility of the crop allows birds to eat more
- 21:45Speaker 2: food than necessary and store some for later. Migrating birds
- 21:48Speaker 2: tend to have small crops, while seed eating birds tend
- 21:51Speaker 2: to have big crops.
- 21:52Speaker 4: It's so cool to want you harvest a bird to
- 21:55Speaker 4: open it up and see what they're eating, and like
- 21:57Speaker 4: that's like, oh, I should focus on this. You know
- 22:00Speaker 4: you can see it in grouse, pheasants, ducks, geese.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Did it like two weeks ago. It was like, looko
- 22:05Speaker 3: for the beans from the crop and.
- 22:06Speaker 2: The digestion has like barely started at that point, so
- 22:10Speaker 2: it looks like if they have corn in there, if
- 22:12Speaker 2: they have seeds in there, it looks like exactly how
- 22:14Speaker 2: it was when they ate it. Yeah, you can learn
- 22:16Speaker 2: a lot by the crop.
- 22:17Speaker 6: One time I found a minnow in a mallard.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Eating a lot of fish.
- 22:23Speaker 8: Very weird.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Phil, give us a scoreboard update through five questions.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I'm going to tie it up, Bro, I'm going to
- 22:34Speaker 3: tie it up. In the last five.
- 22:35Speaker 2: They declared he's not a JIBRONI before we started. How
- 22:39Speaker 2: many points does he have?
- 22:40Speaker 9: Phil?
- 22:41Speaker 7: That looks like a zero five for five on the
- 22:45Speaker 7: back half. Coming up after Nate are Corey and John
- 22:51Speaker 7: who have two points apiece, Max and Maggie have three
- 22:54Speaker 7: and in first places Sarah with four.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Right, Sarah, good game from the brownis Question six. The
- 23:03Speaker 2: topic is wildlife. What continent are art varks native to?
- 23:09Speaker 4: Hm?
- 23:09Speaker 2: Hmm, what continent are art Barks native too? Looks like
- 23:16Speaker 2: a lot of guesses happening? Or do you know this one?
- 23:19Speaker 6: March?
- 23:19Speaker 2: I know it, Okay, Marge knows it. Other five players
- 23:23Speaker 2: are just taking a guess.
- 23:25Speaker 1: If I'm wrong, I guess then I don't.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Know what continent are art Varks?
- 23:32Speaker 1: What cartoon character?
- 23:34Speaker 2: We will talk about that in the favorite text.
- 23:38Speaker 6: I know that too.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Ardvark is typically the first word in dictionaries because it
- 23:44Speaker 2: does have that double a at the beginning. What continent
- 23:48Speaker 2: are art Barks native to? How you doing?
- 23:55Speaker 3: Nate stuck on two?
- 23:57Speaker 2: Mmm mm hmmm, Corey do you like your answer?
- 24:02Speaker 7: I feel pretty good?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Sixty Sarah, the leader of the JABBRONI so far? Do
- 24:07Speaker 2: you have this one right?
- 24:10Speaker 10: I kind of guess. It's a big world out there.
- 24:13Speaker 2: There's a lot of continents, but that is their only
- 24:15Speaker 2: native one of them.
- 24:18Speaker 9: Yeah, there's yeah, there's well two.
- 24:20Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm stuck on two.
- 24:25Speaker 8: Mm hmmm.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Should waiting on Maxwell and Jonathan?
- 24:34Speaker 10: Those glasses do make it look smarter?
- 24:36Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 24:37Speaker 7: Just keep them? Does make John?
- 24:39Speaker 2: Do you have your answer? Max? Do you have your answer? Uh? Yeah, yes?
- 24:47Speaker 8: Or maybe.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. Nate says, Australia. Corey
- 24:54Speaker 2: says Australia, Sarah Africa, John South America, Max Africa, Maggie Australia.
- 25:05Speaker 2: The correct answer is Africa and Sarah wrong.
- 25:13Speaker 6: I was going to South America, but I'm glad I
- 25:15Speaker 6: did Africa.
- 25:16Speaker 2: They are also known as African ant bears, with the
- 25:20Speaker 2: name Ardvark meaning earth pig. They are not closely related
- 25:24Speaker 2: to pigs at all, and are the only member of
- 25:26Speaker 2: their genus. The most famous Ardvark, Arthur, lives in Elwood City,
- 25:30Speaker 2: which is loosely based on Erie, Pennsylvania.
- 25:34Speaker 9: Shout out, PBS kids, There you go, PBSA.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Tell me where just Elwood City, long ways from home
- 25:43Speaker 2: in Africa.
- 25:44Speaker 8: Come on.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Question seven, topic is hunting. This next great question is
- 25:48Speaker 2: via Clint Gregory. Vince Vaughan gets shot while quail hunting
- 25:54Speaker 2: with Bradley Cooper and Christopher Walking in this two thousand
- 25:57Speaker 2: and five comedy.
- 25:59Speaker 5: I didn't know they were in the same I don't
- 26:02Speaker 5: know Bradley Cooper, Vince Vaughn or in a movie.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Corey has his answer. Vince Vaughn gets shot while quail
- 26:08Speaker 2: hunting drop a goose with Bradley Cooper and Christopher Walking
- 26:12Speaker 2: In this two thousand and five comedy, Nate has zero
- 26:16Speaker 2: points to just six questions, and he doesn't think he
- 26:19Speaker 2: has number seven correct either, Corey, do you have this
- 26:22Speaker 2: one right?
- 26:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 26:23Speaker 2: Okay, Corey knows it.
- 26:26Speaker 8: Bradley Cooper.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Vince Vaughn gets shot while quail hunting with Bradley Cooper
- 26:32Speaker 2: and Christopher Walking in this two thousand and five comedy,
- 26:36Speaker 2: and Phil is going to give us a Christopher Walking
- 26:38Speaker 2: impression after this.
- 26:39Speaker 7: I don't think I should. I don't do. I don't
- 26:43Speaker 7: do very good impressions. Christopher Walking is so so many people.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Say that, Phil, but you give great impressions.
- 26:49Speaker 7: Christopher Watkin's not in the milieu? Is that the right word?
- 26:54Speaker 7: I don't know. I'm not gonna look it up.
- 26:56Speaker 8: Phone a friend.
- 26:57Speaker 2: You cannot, But who would you call im? I wor
- 26:59Speaker 2: able to know this one.
- 27:03Speaker 6: She's a big Bradley Cooper fan.
- 27:05Speaker 10: Actually thinking about it more before I reveal my answer,
- 27:08Speaker 10: I'm just gonna say I'm not that confident.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Okay, you thought you were a.
- 27:13Speaker 10: Good answer, but man, the list of actors in there
- 27:16Speaker 10: is throwing.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Vince Vaughn gets shot while quail hunting with Bradley Cooper
- 27:20Speaker 2: and Christopher Walking in this two thousand and five comedy,
- 27:23Speaker 2: Phil would you get this one right?
- 27:25Speaker 3: Yes?
- 27:25Speaker 2: Okay?
- 27:27Speaker 7: And I looked it up. Milia is not the right word, Nate.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Do you like your word?
- 27:39Speaker 7: What do you want me to say? Max? Do you
- 27:42Speaker 7: want me to tell you?
- 27:45Speaker 3: No?
- 27:46Speaker 8: I have just no idea.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Is everybody ready? Yeah? Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Nate says wedding crashers. Corey says Vice Sarah, meet the parents,
- 27:57Speaker 2: John without an answer, Max, how to lose a guy
- 28:01Speaker 2: in ten days March? Without an answer? The correct answer
- 28:06Speaker 2: is wedding Crashers, not that one, right. I'm still out
- 28:12Speaker 2: all right thinking the changing point of the Yeah, if
- 28:17Speaker 2: that that was like what twenty nineteen or twenty twenty isn't.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Isn't that.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Ll?
- 28:22Speaker 7: I don't think any of those.
- 28:24Speaker 2: I don't think a Wilson is.
- 28:26Speaker 3: That's what threw me off.
- 28:27Speaker 2: But if I told you that then it would be
- 28:29Speaker 2: too easy. Well, I think it would be six for six.
- 28:32Speaker 2: The hunting scene from Wedding Crashers is one of the
- 28:34Speaker 2: worst in Hollywood history for starters. They are quail hunting
- 28:38Speaker 2: in summer, and during this quail march, Christopher Walking is
- 28:41Speaker 2: constantly and incorrectly blowing into a crow call. Also, the
- 28:44Speaker 2: muzzle control in this scene will make you squeamish. Then,
- 28:48Speaker 2: when one of them shoots, everyone starts firing in that direction.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Owhen Wilson experiences so much recoil that it blows him backwards,
- 28:55Speaker 2: while Bradley Cooper's shotgun barrel doesn't even flinch. The hunt
- 28:59Speaker 2: comes to an end and Cooper shoots Vaughn in the butt,
- 29:01Speaker 2: which gives everyone a good laugh. Here's that scene going.
- 29:06Speaker 7: Can't we want something cool with.
- 29:11Speaker 1: That'd be awesome?
- 29:11Speaker 3: You mean it's something like big game, even like a
- 29:13Speaker 3: gorilla rhinoceros human being.
- 29:16Speaker 7: I'll get your jacked up.
- 29:18Speaker 10: Look at that gun pointed right out of it.
- 29:20Speaker 3: I mean like you're waunting human being right now.
- 29:23Speaker 5: Most dangerous game, I could wordy the adversary, not a
- 29:26Speaker 5: human being that's armed, but a clever a clever human
- 29:30Speaker 5: being who knows the jungle the woods.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Look at that quite a lot.
- 29:43Speaker 7: There's something not right about these guys.
- 29:45Speaker 2: That's Bradley Cooper.
- 29:47Speaker 8: That doesn't look like, don't do anything crazy. It's just
- 29:50Speaker 8: from you have more hair.
- 29:53Speaker 12: I mean it comes again, right, Oh gosh, what a moment.
- 30:07Speaker 2: I don't think they wont any awards for that question. A.
- 30:11Speaker 2: The topic is conservation. This National Park has a section
- 30:16Speaker 2: that's referred to as Helicopter Alley, with three hundred aircrafts
- 30:20Speaker 2: passing through it each day. We'll get a scoreboard update
- 30:26Speaker 2: filled the engineer after this. This National Park has a
- 30:29Speaker 2: section referred to as Helicopter Alley. I've already lost, with
- 30:33Speaker 2: three hundred aircrafts passing through it each day.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Let's just leave helicopter go buy a cookie and trown
- 30:39Speaker 5: my sorrows.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Make it two cookies, all right?
- 30:43Speaker 2: Where you're gonna get your cookie from?
- 30:44Speaker 3: Not crumble. That place is trash.
- 30:46Speaker 7: I agree, cookies chemical.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Grandma.
- 30:52Speaker 1: So it's like if I want a cookie dough, I
- 30:54Speaker 1: just go eat cookie dough.
- 30:56Speaker 8: You tell.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I think cookie tastes good. What I don't like is
- 31:01Speaker 2: I feel like the ruins the rest of your day.
- 31:03Speaker 3: You said, no editing, Phil.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Sorry, This National Park has a section, Phil that's referred
- 31:13Speaker 2: to as U Helicopter Ali, with three hundred aircrafts passing
- 31:17Speaker 2: through it each day.
- 31:18Speaker 8: This is a great answer, you know, he thinks that's.
- 31:21Speaker 3: A surprising value.
- 31:23Speaker 5: From my favorite warehouse store, Costco has got great cookies.
- 31:27Speaker 7: Okay, oh yeah.
- 31:28Speaker 5: One time I walked out with piece of pizza and
- 31:30Speaker 5: a cookie and the guy's like, oh, he got you
- 31:31Speaker 5: with the upsell and the cookie.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I said, brother, I come here for the cook.
- 31:35Speaker 2: They don't have to twist your arm. Is everybody ready?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. Nate says Grand Canyon,
- 31:43Speaker 2: Corey says Yosemite, Sarah Golden Gate, John, Grand Canyon, Max
- 31:49Speaker 2: and Marge say Grand Canyon. Come on, The correct answer
- 31:53Speaker 2: is Grand Canyon. Four of our players got that one right.
- 31:58Speaker 2: It's going to make for an interesting scoreboard. Updates from
- 32:01Speaker 2: Phil in just a second. Grand Canyon West is one
- 32:05Speaker 2: of the world's busiest heliports. It's estimated that about three
- 32:08Speaker 2: hundred and fifty thousand people charter helicopter rides from there
- 32:12Speaker 2: every year. Some conservationists say this practice has ruined one
- 32:15Speaker 2: North one of North America's most remote places, putting them
- 32:19Speaker 2: at odds with the National Park Service and local tribes.
- 32:22Speaker 1: As someone who's floated down the Grand Canyon, I would agree.
- 32:26Speaker 2: You went through helicopter alley. Were you there during the
- 32:28Speaker 2: rush when it's just like every single minute there's a
- 32:31Speaker 2: helicopter coming through yeah, yeah, terrible, made it made it
- 32:34Speaker 2: a lot. There you go, Phil scoreboard update. With two
- 32:40Speaker 2: questions left, it.
- 32:42Speaker 7: Has become a little bit more interesting. We have come on,
- 32:45Speaker 7: come on and Corey have two and aren't in the
- 32:49Speaker 7: running anymore. John has three, Maggie has four, and now
- 32:53Speaker 7: tied up in the first place are Max and Sarah with.
- 32:57Speaker 2: All right, Maggie, Max, if you want Sarah for Sarah,
- 33:02Speaker 2: just once, it was a.
- 33:04Speaker 8: Long long time ago, sir.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Question nine, The topic is cooking. This next great question
- 33:10Speaker 2: is via Chris Coolderic. It's a general rule that you
- 33:15Speaker 2: should only hunt and eat rabbits in months that have
- 33:18Speaker 2: this letter in them. So we're looking for a letter
- 33:23Speaker 2: from the alphabet. It's a general rule that you should
- 33:26Speaker 2: only hunt and eat rabbits that have this letter in them.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Nobody seems to know this, or John, do you know
- 33:36Speaker 2: this one? Nothing's coming to mind. Okay, now, okay, Sarah
- 33:40Speaker 2: has her answer locked in. No, Sarah, do you like
- 33:42Speaker 2: your answer?
- 33:45Speaker 9: It makes sense?
- 33:46Speaker 3: Maybe?
- 33:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:47Speaker 7: I think it's good you have some kind, well adjusted
- 33:48Speaker 7: people in the room today, Spender, because I think Spent,
- 33:50Speaker 7: if Steve or Brody were here, they'd be like a.
- 33:53Speaker 3: General rule according to Who.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Actually, according to Brody Henderson, if you look at the
- 33:58Speaker 2: flavor text Phil to Plug one of his articles that
- 34:01Speaker 2: he wrote six or seven years ago for our website,
- 34:05Speaker 2: it's a general rule that you should only hunt and
- 34:08Speaker 2: eat rabbits in months then have this letter in them.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Saving this question for a day when Brody isn't here
- 34:16Speaker 2: who because he has specifically wrote about this subject.
- 34:19Speaker 8: It's rabbit season.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Rabbit season, right.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Max has really been committed to the bit. He's been
- 34:29Speaker 2: wearing glasses that do not benefit his vision at all
- 34:33Speaker 2: for the entire episode. In fact, they hurt your vision,
- 34:35Speaker 2: right Yeah, yeah, Okay. Going from here, it's a general
- 34:42Speaker 2: rule that you should only hunt and eat rabbits in
- 34:46Speaker 2: months that have this letter. Do you like your hands?
- 34:51Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 34:52Speaker 2: Okay? Max? Do you like your ass?
- 34:54Speaker 8: I'm feeling pretty good about it?
- 34:55Speaker 2: Okay. Nate is going in with a change, No.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Just a clarification.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Was that.
- 35:04Speaker 3: A circling answer? Oh, October only month you're allowed to
- 35:10Speaker 3: do it?
- 35:12Speaker 2: Maybe?
- 35:12Speaker 3: Who knows?
- 35:13Speaker 2: John has his answer March. We are waiting on you
- 35:16Speaker 2: to pick that, so it is months, so it's poor.
- 35:19Speaker 8: We're looking for.
- 35:20Speaker 2: A letters for your answer. Is everybody ready?
- 35:24Speaker 1: I guess.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. Nate says, are Cory R,
- 35:29Speaker 2: Sarah R, John, Oh, max E, Marge Jay Shoot. The
- 35:37Speaker 2: correct answer is our. This side of the room got
- 35:42Speaker 2: that one right. Two players out of the game, Nate
- 35:45Speaker 2: and Corey, as well as Sarah Man Sarah.
- 35:48Speaker 8: There was a bunch of ours in that.
- 35:50Speaker 2: This old timer wisdom says you should only eat rabbits
- 35:53Speaker 2: in September, October, November, December, January, February, March, and April.
- 35:59Speaker 2: That means you shouldn't eat them in May, June, July,
- 36:02Speaker 2: or August. This is because rabbits are more likely to
- 36:05Speaker 2: have parasites in them and on them during warmer months.
- 36:09Speaker 2: But as Brody Henderson said in his article on the
- 36:11Speaker 2: mead on the meadeater dot com called is it unsafe
- 36:15Speaker 2: to eat rabbits before the first frost? As long as
- 36:18Speaker 2: the meat is properly cooked, you can eat rabbits year round.
- 36:22Speaker 2: All right, here's the correct answer review so far. One
- 36:25Speaker 2: was the middle of the day is the windiest two
- 36:28Speaker 2: docs in three Mercury Marine four, Nebraska, five, Crop six,
- 36:35Speaker 2: Africa seven, wedding Crashers eight, Grand Canyon nine is the
- 36:41Speaker 2: letter R all right, Phil, give us one more scoreboard update.
- 36:44Speaker 7: Well, with that correct answer, Sarah has pulled ahead in
- 36:46Speaker 7: front of Max. He has six. Max has five.
- 36:49Speaker 2: It is Sarah's game to win or lose. Going into questions,
- 36:54Speaker 2: give me a topic is fishing? Of course, This river,
- 36:59Speaker 2: which four is the border of New York and New Jersey,
- 37:03Speaker 2: has the second biggest striped bass spawning run on the
- 37:07Speaker 2: east coast coast questions.
- 37:09Speaker 6: Oh, it's not west of the Mississippi.
- 37:12Speaker 2: You don't know this. That is what people sound like
- 37:16Speaker 2: who say that this river, which forms the border of
- 37:20Speaker 2: New York and Gort Jersey, has the second biggest striped
- 37:25Speaker 2: bass spawning run on the east coast. Sarah, do you
- 37:28Speaker 2: have this one right?
- 37:30Speaker 6: Maybe?
- 37:31Speaker 2: Okay, put it, put a percentage on it. What percentage
- 37:33Speaker 2: chance do you have this one? Sixty five sixty that's
- 37:37Speaker 2: about Maxwell.
- 37:39Speaker 8: New Jersey. Yeah, I don't know. I'm just taking it
- 37:42Speaker 8: a while.
- 37:42Speaker 9: Again, how much time have you spent on the East coast? Max?
- 37:46Speaker 2: I've actually got a stripper?
- 37:47Speaker 6: Really?
- 37:48Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 37:53Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 37:59Speaker 2: That where I bet you did make a graphic of
- 38:01Speaker 2: this exact thing. This river, which forms the border of
- 38:05Speaker 2: New York and New Jersey, as the second biggest striped
- 38:10Speaker 2: bass spawning run on the East Coast. If Sarah gets
- 38:15Speaker 2: this one right, she wins the game outright. If she
- 38:18Speaker 2: gets it wrong and Max gets it right, we will
- 38:20Speaker 2: go to overtime.

- 38:56Speaker 2: says Delaware. Maggy without an answer.
- 38:59Speaker 8: I'm not gonna do it.
- 39:00Speaker 2: The correct answer is Hudson River. Sarah has won it
- 39:08Speaker 2: despite getting that one wrong. Max did not get it either.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Sarah is the winner of the game with how many
- 39:13Speaker 2: point seven guys? Good job, Shelby. The Hudson River starts
- 39:20Speaker 2: in upstate New York and ends near the Statue of Liberty,
- 39:23Speaker 2: with the final twenty one miles separating New York City
- 39:26Speaker 2: and Jersey City. The Hudson has a diverse fishery, but
- 39:29Speaker 2: is best known for its stripers. The Chesapeake Bay is
- 39:32Speaker 2: the East coast largest producer of striped bass, followed by
- 39:36Speaker 2: the Hudson River and Delaware River.
- 39:38Speaker 3: You were the.
