NCDOT is set to shut down the dangerous Beryl Road railroad crossing near Meredith College, where accidents and near-misses are common due to poor visibility and traffic light delays. The solution? Extend Beryl Road to connect with Royal Street, rerouting traffic to a safer crossing — while also eliminating a bottleneck at Hillsborough Street.
