- 0:11Speaker 1: Here's a little song I wrote.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Might not sing it note for note. Don't worry.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Be happy. I like that. That was good. That was
- 0:24Speaker 1: better than your guitar.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Is that all we know about that song?
- 0:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it was great. Yeah, pretty much.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Hey, how good did Fiji play in that last game?
- 0:35Speaker 1: That was... They came to play. Literally, their first set
- 0:38Speaker 1: of six, they had a bit of a shift to
- 0:40Speaker 1: the right edge and like made a half break. I
- 0:42Speaker 1: was like, holy, these lads are on. They're ready to play.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And like, like, pushed Australia to be better.
- 0:50Speaker 2: And that's what I mean. Like, you know, the way
- 0:53Speaker 2: it's been spoken about is like, oh, you know, do
- 0:56Speaker 2: you feel like you should be disappointed in your game?
- 0:58Speaker 2: And all this bullshit. I'm like, no, no.
- 1:00Speaker 1: We should be praising Fiji.
- 1:01Speaker 2: They just showed up. They just proved that they're getting better.
- 1:06Speaker 2: All the money that's going towards their juniors and just
- 1:09Speaker 2: the footy in Fiji, it's worth it. It's working and
- 1:13Speaker 2: it's worth it. And, I love that and that's what
- 1:15Speaker 2: I love about it. This is showing the World Cup
- 1:20Speaker 2: is just getting, it's going to get better and the
- 1:22Speaker 2: more that we can help and fund, you know, help
- 1:26Speaker 2: fund other countries to better the rugby league there, it's
- 1:30Speaker 2: going to work. It's going to be worth it and
- 1:32Speaker 2: I'm so happy to see the score.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I'm really glad that we've been playing the Pacific Championships
- 1:37Speaker 1: at the end of each season for the last couple
- 1:38Speaker 1: of years because I really think this is where we're
- 1:41Speaker 1: seeing the benefits right here, right now and we spoke
- 1:43Speaker 1: about At the start of the World Cup. The Fiji,
- 1:45Speaker 1: they've got a young team as well. They're only building
- 1:48Speaker 1: and trying to get better. And, yeah, there's some genuine
- 1:51Speaker 1: pathways there for them now. But they brought it to Australia.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Didn't they? Big time.
- 1:55Speaker 3: And that was without Kick Out and without Tui.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Kamakamita. So you take those two players out.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Of any team. And Montoya, who's played with them previously
- 2:05Speaker 1: as well. So he's played in the centres and on
- 2:08Speaker 1: the wing. And, again... He's a senior player. He retired
- 2:10Speaker 1: this year as well because of medical issues.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I looked at the stats because I was on a
- 2:16Speaker 2: plane the whole time. I landed and.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I went, wait, what? So I looked at.
- 2:20Speaker 2: The stats because I'm like, okay, just in case it
- 2:22Speaker 2: was one of those ones where Australia completed the same.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It's 87% each, 50% possession. Errors, it was similar, I believe.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And they beat them in line breaks, offloads, running meters, everything.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Just up the middle.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Australia beat them in all those areas.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Oh, right. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Fiji just turned up. They played good footy. And it
- 2:46Speaker 2: wasn't one of those cases where Australia played bad. You
- 2:49Speaker 2: can't say that.
- 2:50Speaker 1: No.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Because if everyone goes by stats, which is what everyone does,
- 2:53Speaker 2: that has no idea about the game.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Stat-wise, they should have. Won easily.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So, yeah, I was so happy to see that scoreline.
- 3:02Speaker 3: New Zealand got a little scare against Cook Islands.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And then they didn't.
- 3:05Speaker 3: With a few intercepts, but then that sorted itself out.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Yeah. I can't even think of it. Two intercepts, I
- 3:11Speaker 1: think it was. That young follower that played for the
- 3:14Speaker 1: Cook Islands, I really feel bad because I can't even
- 3:17Speaker 1: recall his name. But he has a fantastic highlight sheet
- 3:21Speaker 1: when it comes to intercepts. He's almost... perfected the art
- 3:24Speaker 1: of intercept so played in the Queensland Cup this year
- 3:27Speaker 1: and what a great opportunity and a privilege for him
- 3:30Speaker 1: to represent his country but he went out against New
- 3:32Speaker 1: Zealand and was like I'm just going to show up
- 3:34Speaker 1: I'm just going to do my job for my team
- 3:36Speaker 1: and New Zealand would have been going oh hell what's
- 3:39Speaker 1: happening so.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah it shows it when you Esan.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Esan yeah because it was.
- 3:45Speaker 1: In Q Cup.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Being in the Q Cup he was in a good
- 3:49Speaker 2: system opportunities to learn the game play with bigger players
- 3:54Speaker 2: and guys that you know the class of rugby league
- 3:57Speaker 2: that we have in Australia goes back there and it
- 4:01Speaker 2: shows like you see a difference between him and a
- 4:03Speaker 2: few other people that probably hadn't played NRL not that
- 4:07Speaker 2: all of them hadn't but he showed that with the
- 4:10Speaker 2: opportunity that he's had it's worked so again it goes
- 4:14Speaker 2: back to spread it like spread the money out like
- 4:19Speaker 2: let's let's help let's try and make this game what
- 4:21Speaker 2: they wanted to be they wanted to be a global
- 4:23Speaker 2: game or as global as we can so.
- 4:25Speaker 3: And speaking of you'd have to say um you know
- 4:28Speaker 3: with the with the chiefs coming png will be the
- 4:30Speaker 3: next of those teams ready to lift to the top
- 4:34Speaker 3: tier yeah yeah um so they're playing friday night footy
- 4:37Speaker 3: taking on england png uh england.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Of favorites pretty solid favorites.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yeah it should be favorites in that one i think
- 4:45Speaker 1: um england uh first game probably try to find their
- 4:49Speaker 1: feet a little bit yeah um but yeah second game
- 4:52Speaker 1: a little bit easier for them but.
- 4:55Speaker 2: They won like they won the way they should have
- 4:57Speaker 2: yeah and i think we spoke about it before it
- 5:00Speaker 2: started but a team like england i don't think they
- 5:03Speaker 2: got they would have got to play a lot of
- 5:04Speaker 2: football together and even against each other is is also
- 5:08Speaker 2: the hard part like Their games, they've been brought together.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Like you got, you know, the Super League and then NRL.
- 5:14Speaker 1: A few guys from the NRL, yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Very different, I guess, style or like the way the
- 5:19Speaker 2: games go. So like speed of them and all that.
- 5:23Speaker 2: But after the first game, the second game, they looked
- 5:25Speaker 2: like they had, there was a lot more connections and
- 5:28Speaker 2: won that game the way we all expected. And I really,
- 5:32Speaker 2: I think they could be a threat in this.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 2: In this competition. I really... If we come up against them,
- 5:39Speaker 2: I hope we don't think it's going to be not
- 5:41Speaker 2: an easy game, but one that they think, oh, we're
- 5:45Speaker 2: going to be favourites. We should definitely win this game.
- 5:48Speaker 2: There's going to be a hard game and they're going
- 5:51Speaker 2: to bring it. So we've got to play good footy.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So I'm expecting them to win well again. And if
- 5:59Speaker 2: they do, I think it's going to really shake up
- 6:02Speaker 2: their World Cup.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah, bookies have got them at $ 1. 02 England, so pretty
- 6:06Speaker 3: much unbackable.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 2: But it's, again, like P & G, they can honestly
- 6:11Speaker 2: put on a good performance. Yeah, for the first 20,
- 6:16Speaker 2: if they get it wrong, P & G can have
- 6:19Speaker 2: it their way.
- 6:19Speaker 3: This would be a better test for it to see
- 6:22Speaker 3: how Australia are going because Fiji are going to take
- 6:25Speaker 3: on New Zealand on Saturday. So if they do the
- 6:28Speaker 3: same type of performance... Actually, if they do the same
- 6:31Speaker 3: performance against New Zealand, do you reckon a similar scoreline?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yep.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I think they'll learn again. We just gave
- 6:40Speaker 2: a red hot crack and look at that. Let's do
- 6:41Speaker 2: it again. And what comes with that is just that
- 6:45Speaker 2: little bit more confidence and it could be closer.
- 6:49Speaker 1: And then on the flip side, if like, and I
- 6:52Speaker 1: don't want to be disrespectful to the Cook Islands, but
- 6:54Speaker 1: if Australia don't win by, you know, I'm just throwing
- 6:56Speaker 1: numbers out, by 100.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Like, It just shows that we're not quite where we
- 7:02Speaker 1: need to be from an execution point of view at
- 7:06Speaker 1: the end of the day. So I think this is
- 7:09Speaker 1: the last round game before we head into semifinals. So
- 7:12Speaker 1: we need to make sure. And this guy's playing for positions.
- 7:16Speaker 2: That's it combinations they've got to make sure they're nailing.
- 7:19Speaker 1: It yeah yeah because when we get to the semis
- 7:21Speaker 1: and the final like there's not going to be a
- 7:23Speaker 1: lot of changes going forward from that point on so.
- 7:26Speaker 3: You want to talk about a team that bats above
- 7:28Speaker 3: like Cook Islands tiny population yeah they go so hard
- 7:32Speaker 3: yeah you know for the pool they've got yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And that's what I mean like if you you know
- 7:38Speaker 2: the more we can get over in the Q Cup
- 7:39Speaker 2: or whatever it just it just grows the game and
- 7:44Speaker 2: then you know Four years' time, who's to say they
- 7:47Speaker 2: can't be doing what Fiji's doing?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I do want to say probably the game of
- 7:52Speaker 1: this weekend for... for the World Cup is Tonga Samoa.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Oh!
- 7:59Speaker 1: They reckon that it's sold out.
- 8:00Speaker 2: That's going to be so good.
- 8:01Speaker 1: At Combank Stadium, it's sold out.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I reckon there'll be three-plus million people watching that on
- 8:07Speaker 2: TV too. That'll be so good.
- 8:08Speaker 1: It's going to be absolutely epic. Oh, the start.
- 8:11Speaker 2: What do you call them?
- 8:12Speaker 1: The war? Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 2: War dancers. Oh, they're going to be so excited.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Do you reckon they'll go, you do one and they
- 8:19Speaker 3: do one or they do them at each other?
- 8:21Speaker 1: I don't know. No, it's each.
- 8:23Speaker 2: It's one each?
- 8:24Speaker 1: Bit of mutual respect. So I think whoever is classed
- 8:27Speaker 1: as the home team, I think they get to pick
- 8:29Speaker 1: whether they want to go first or second. That's going
- 8:32Speaker 1: to be so good. I know. It is so good.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And that's the last game on Sunday.
- 8:36Speaker 3: The first game on Sunday is actually going to be
- 8:38Speaker 3: a really interesting game too because you've got Lebanon, France.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Yeah. And they both got me pumped the whole time.
- 8:44Speaker 1: See where these guys are. You know, there's been a
- 8:47Speaker 1: few guys I've been impressed with for that Lebanon team.
- 8:50Speaker 1: They kind of... They hung in there to the best
- 8:52Speaker 1: of their ability last weekend too. And then kind of
- 8:55Speaker 1: got blown out in the end by Tonga. But, you know, France, again,
- 9:00Speaker 1: like absolutely pumped by 82-0 last week against England. So, yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 1: this would be a nice competitive game for them. Just
- 9:11Speaker 1: to kind of, hey, let's try and crack a win
- 9:14Speaker 1: before we, you know. hang around in Australia for another
- 9:17Speaker 1: week afterwards.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Uh, another thing that's been big in the news this week,
- 9:20Speaker 3: Sam Walker hasn't been, well, his, his contract, he got
- 9:24Speaker 3: offered a great deal, uh, for most people.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Uh, from the roosters. Awesome deal, yeah. Um, $ 4 million deal. Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Said, I want to look around. I want to think
- 9:33Speaker 3: about it. Deal got taken off the table. Do you
- 9:35Speaker 3: think that means it's, it's done with the roosters?
- 9:38Speaker 2: There's so many like, well, that, that deal's done.
- 9:41Speaker 3: That deal's done. But do you think that means he's
- 9:43Speaker 3: done with the roosters?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Well, well, I just, I don't know, you'd be the same.
- 9:49Speaker 2: And then everyone blows up, oh, leave it on the table, blah, blah, blah.
- 9:52Speaker 2: But no, that's loyalty. They've shown loyalty by offering a deal.
- 9:57Speaker 1: And it's a good deal. It's a good deal.
- 9:59Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong. with what they've offered. So, you know,
- 10:03Speaker 2: you go looking elsewhere, well, then they're going to be like, well,
- 10:05Speaker 2: you're not loyal to us. So, see you later.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I think at the end of the day, people need
- 10:09Speaker 1: to know and understand and realize that he's a hot
- 10:12Speaker 1: commodity at the moment.
- 10:14Speaker 3: And.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Clubs are a business, but players are a business too.
- 10:22Speaker 1: And they've got to know and understand that you have
- 10:24Speaker 1: a finite career. It doesn't last forever. Make as much
- 10:27Speaker 1: money as you can because the club and the game
- 10:30Speaker 1: will use you up as much as possible. They'll chew
- 10:33Speaker 1: you up and spit you out when you leave. So
- 10:35Speaker 1: if you can get some money on the way through,
- 10:37Speaker 1: bloody take it.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Can't hide behind managers either.
- 10:39Speaker 1: No.
- 10:40Speaker 2: The reason why I say this is.
- 10:44Speaker 2: You want to have your, it's, you want it to go, like,
- 10:48Speaker 2: you want to control the narrative for who, like, what is,
- 10:51Speaker 2: what comes out about you. So, come out and say,
- 10:55Speaker 2: I appreciate the club, but I'm going to look elsewhere.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Whether that's in NRL or whether it's not. Like, just
- 11:02Speaker 2: do that. Like, stop, I'm sick of him hiding behind
- 11:04Speaker 2: or vice versa. If your manager's doing something you don't like,
- 11:08Speaker 2: stand up and do it because he works for you.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Not the other way around. Like, And if there was
- 11:14Speaker 2: some mixed communication, like, stand up, come out.
- 11:19Speaker 1: So you'd like Sammy to come out and say, hey,
- 11:23Speaker 1: this is what's happening at the moment. I didn't get
- 11:25Speaker 1: the deal that I would have liked at the club.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I love the Roosters. I'm one of the premiers there. But,
- 11:31Speaker 1: you know, I'm looking to get some money.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Because I'm looking at my future.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Our game, it's, you know, tomorrow, you know, Nothing happened,
- 11:43Speaker 2: but he got a serious injury. Anything can happen, right?
- 11:47Speaker 2: So come out, silence all the crap. Come out and
- 11:50Speaker 2: just own it. Done, because you're in a World Cup.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Don't let anything be in the background.
- 11:55Speaker 1: You know what I love when these stories come out
- 11:58Speaker 1: is the hearsay, and this is what's going to happen,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and this is the deal.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I love the sources. Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 1: All the sources. And then Tommy Dearden's going to swap
- 12:06Speaker 1: with Sammy, and then Sammy Walker's going to go to Cowboys.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Tommy Dearden's going to go to the Roosters.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Sammy Walker's apparently going to come to the Bronx. Where's
- 12:15Speaker 2: the cash? And we need six halfbacks, do we?
- 12:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:18Speaker 2: My Lord. F.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Let's talk hypothetical. Let's say Broncos have the cash. Okay,
- 12:24Speaker 3: we've got the cash. And you can buy... And he's available. So, obviously,
- 12:29Speaker 3: Sammy's available. Tommy Dearden's available. And Izzy Couture is available.
- 12:35Speaker 3: And you've got the money to pay for any of them,
- 12:37Speaker 3: but only one of them. Who do you take?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Do you have to?
- 12:42Speaker 3: You don't have to take any of them.
- 12:43Speaker 2: I would love to have Tommy Dearden to have never left.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:46Speaker 2: If you want me to be honest, but.
- 12:48Speaker 1: He also had to leave to get the career that
- 12:50Speaker 1: he wanted.
- 12:50Speaker 2: And that's exactly right. He's gone and made.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And he had to leave Boralaba, mate.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Imagine if I was stuck there.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Carving up for the Panthers.
- 12:58Speaker 2: If I have to pick one, I'd say that I
- 13:01Speaker 2: wish Tommy never left.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Because if I'm honest, I feel like Tommy suits the
- 13:05Speaker 2: style of Ezra.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:08Speaker 1: They work.
- 13:08Speaker 2: But the halves we have there now, I'm pretty happy with.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I feel like they all complement each other well.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I feel like Peasant... He actually showed a lot of
- 13:19Speaker 2: growth this year, at the start of the year when
- 13:21Speaker 2: he was playing. And Duffy, he surprised me. He really did.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I think he could be a really great talent and
- 13:28Speaker 2: have a good career. And I think they complement. Hopefully
- 13:34Speaker 2: Ezra is a 5'8 and can find form. And if
- 13:37Speaker 2: he does, I think those two halves really complement him well.
- 13:40Speaker 2: So I don't think we need him. I think we
- 13:43Speaker 2: need to trust what we've got. But if I had
- 13:45Speaker 2: to pick, it would have been Tommy just because I
- 13:48Speaker 2: wish he never left.
- 13:50Speaker 3: What about the club then? Do you think what club
- 13:52Speaker 3: needs and will be able to afford Sammy?
- 13:56Speaker 2: No, I don't think they're going to.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Oh, which club?
- 13:58Speaker 2: Which club?
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Wow. Can any afford him?
- 14:03Speaker 3: Like imagine what that would do. Imagine what that would
- 14:05Speaker 3: do for Perth. If they start with a Premiership winning halfback.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Who's got eight years ahead of him, hasn't he? If
- 14:14Speaker 2: Perth could nail him, that would change everything about Perth.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Wouldn't it?
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 3: And they've probably got the budget more than anyone else.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I don't know who else would have a budget. Yeah.
- 14:30Speaker 2: And I look at, I don't know, I feel like
- 14:32Speaker 2: clubs now, yeah, you know, he's on the market, but
- 14:36Speaker 2: A lot of clubs, they know what their teams need.
- 14:40Speaker 2: If you've got a Reece Walsh and an Ezra, it
- 14:49Speaker 2: probably doesn't suit that style. I don't know if we
- 14:51Speaker 2: need another off-the-cuff player. As great of a half and
- 14:57Speaker 2: a square up, I don't think we need one. I
- 15:00Speaker 2: don't think it'll suit the other $ 3 million we've got
- 15:03Speaker 2: put up And other players. I think it's one of
- 15:06Speaker 2: those things where you'll have to make it work.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Yep.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I don't think you want that. So it's one of those, yeah,
- 15:13Speaker 2: he's a guy that just turns a game on its head.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 2: But we've got those. We've got two or three of
- 15:18Speaker 2: them already.
- 15:19Speaker 3: And Hudson Young's in a similar situation with Canberra. It
- 15:22Speaker 3: looks like he said, I want to talk to PNG first.
- 15:24Speaker 3: And Canberra's taken the deal. So it looks like PNG's
- 15:28Speaker 3: his only option now.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yep.
- 15:30Speaker 1: That's for long. Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 2: It's that loyalty thing. I like it. I actually, I
- 15:35Speaker 2: appreciate clubs doing it.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Because, you know, you get offered from the club, you
- 15:40Speaker 2: want to stay at and be, and it's a good deal.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Like you can't say 1.1 isn't a good deal.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. If it was a, if it was a
- 15:47Speaker 1: bad deal and they're trying to, you know, pay you under,
- 15:52Speaker 1: he's a representative player at the end of the day.
- 15:54Speaker 2: If it was 600?
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I'd be like, fair enough. 100% go look.
- 15:58Speaker 1: You know you're worth more.
- 15:59Speaker 2: It's not 1.1.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 2: If that's me, I'm like, yep, Loyalty, you've shown that in.
- 16:05Speaker 1: The contract that you're being respectful enough to give me.
- 16:09Speaker 2: But this is what PNG's done to our game. But
- 16:13Speaker 2: it is. And as much as I want them in,
- 16:15Speaker 2: and I do, but this is just what's happened.
- 16:17Speaker 1: It's unsettling. It's hard for any... any club, any manager
- 16:22Speaker 1: to negotiate now because that's always going to be playing
- 16:25Speaker 1: in the background.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeah, because they worked out that him getting offered 900
- 16:29Speaker 3: in PNG is worth 1.6 at home.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Because of the tax breaks. So no one's going to
- 16:35Speaker 3: give that to a second round.
- 16:36Speaker 1: No. Or anyone. No, not at all. Yeah. So... Yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 3: All right, let's put together a same game multi. Actually,
- 16:44Speaker 3: some of these have been huge because of the blowouts.
- 16:46Speaker 1: So you can.
- 16:48Speaker 3: You can pick any time try scorers. Let's go the
- 16:51Speaker 3: England game, England PNG.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I'm going to go for a double.
- 16:54Speaker 1: A double?
- 16:55Speaker 3: I reckon we've got to go doubles for value.
- 16:57Speaker 2: AJ Brimson, double.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Yep.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I'm Dom Young for a double. So it's on you, Sammy.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Who do you like? I was just trying to have
- 17:07Speaker 1: a look at where some of these tries were scored
- 17:10Speaker 1: last week from Sam Moore. against PNG. And there was
- 17:13Speaker 1: a couple through the middle. So I might just go
- 17:16Speaker 1: a single, but I might go one of the bigger boys. Yeah. Yeah,
- 17:19Speaker 1: go forward maybe.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Well, I saw that Mikey Lewis, who's actually playing off
- 17:24Speaker 3: the bench, he scored two or three against France.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I don't like it when they've scored a double the
- 17:30Speaker 3: week before that. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Like a Radley or a Thompson.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, Radley's on the bench.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Yeah, but he scored at least one.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Against France? That's actually not a bad call. I'm going
- 17:43Speaker 1: to go with Victor Radley off the bench. Okay. Because
- 17:46Speaker 1: he might have some good odds against him either as well.
- 17:48Speaker 1: All right.
- 17:49Speaker 3: So Victor Radley and then Brimson and Young for doubles.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Yeah. And 13 plus.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Yes, plus England.
- 17:57Speaker 1: 13 plus. It'll have to be more than 13 plus.
- 18:00Speaker 2: 13 plus I don't think is a market.
- 18:01Speaker 1: What's the line? And then who's the kicker? Isn't it George?
- 18:06Speaker 2: Is it?
- 18:06Speaker 1: Who kicks for him? Oh, no, Hugo Savala.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Oh, does Hugo kick?
- 18:09Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, okay. Even have Hugo Savala for eight plus points. Yeah, well, yeah.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I think he got seven out of eight or something
- 18:16Speaker 3: like that, or better.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, a great kicker. Yeah, he's a good kicker. Yep. Righto.
- 18:21Speaker 3: All right, there's your multi. Now, let's talk boxing because
- 18:25Speaker 3: there's the big fight.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Gal and Nelson coming up.
- 18:28Speaker 3: I think it's next Friday.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Big bad Nelly from Welly.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Versus G-Train.
- 18:34Speaker 3: And there's some good trash talk. And Gal's got it,
- 18:37Speaker 3: hasn't he? Building up the hate before a game.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Throughout his whole league career, he was the guy that
- 18:46Speaker 1: was to sell the games. I think he's even come
- 18:51Speaker 1: out and admitted this, that the NRL paid him at
- 18:53Speaker 1: one stage to hype up Queensland, call them two heads
- 18:57Speaker 1: and all this type of stuff. He got paid because... Apparently,
- 19:02Speaker 1: through the eyes of Deanna Rowland, that state of origin
- 19:05Speaker 1: was dying because he just kept on beating them year
- 19:06Speaker 1: in and year out. Right. Yeah, he's good at it. Yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 1: He does.
- 19:10Speaker 2: And that's why he's got to sell the fight. But
- 19:13Speaker 2: I love he backs every fight up.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the one thing you know about Gal.
- 19:18Speaker 2: He ain't training and he ain't doing it half-assed.
- 19:21Speaker 1: He's doing it properly. I'll say this. I think Nelson
- 19:24Speaker 1: has bitten off more than he can chew. He has fought.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Jared Wallace. Jared Wallace, yeah. Who was not.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I don't think he trained much.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Nah, you could see he hadn't trained much. Nah, he's J-Wall.
- 19:41Speaker 2: He can take a hit in footy, but not like
- 19:43Speaker 2: Nelson in a boxing ring.
- 19:45Speaker 1: There's not a lot of guys that he's fought that
- 19:47Speaker 1: are at the standard of Paul Gallen. Now, where I
- 19:52Speaker 1: gained my respect for Gallen in the boxing ring was
- 19:54Speaker 1: when he fought Justice Hooney. Yep. And he got caught
- 19:59Speaker 1: in the last round because he was copping too much
- 20:01Speaker 1: punch at the end. But he, like.
- 20:04Speaker 2: He gave it, yeah.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Red Hot Crack. Red Hot Crack.
- 20:07Speaker 2: And when you get a bit, I think he earned
- 20:09Speaker 2: respect that day too. And I feel like when you
- 20:11Speaker 2: can earn respect from boxers.
- 20:13Speaker 1: A real boxer.
- 20:14Speaker 2: A real boxer. I think you've done a good job.
- 20:17Speaker 2: And I think that's what Gal, I don't know, I've
- 20:19Speaker 2: never asked him, but I feel like that's why he
- 20:21Speaker 2: wanted to do it. Because I felt like he mastered
- 20:25Speaker 2: both sports. You could honestly say that.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I really could.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Well, he's come out and said Nelson. He said, Nelson,
- 20:31Speaker 3: you're a quitter. You quit rugby league and you're going
- 20:33Speaker 3: to quit in the ring.
- 20:35Speaker 1: In the ring. Yeah. Oh, good on you, T-Track.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Well, if I'm honest, I feel like, you know, Gal
- 20:40Speaker 2: would have that little fitness edge on him.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Yeah, what's that next Friday? He's aging. He's an older body.
- 20:46Speaker 1: How old is he?
- 20:47Speaker 2: Is he 50 yet, gal?
- 20:47Speaker 1: Nah, not yet. He looks 50. He does. Is he
- 20:50Speaker 1: not 50? He would feel 50. Nah, nah, he's mid-40s.
- 20:54Speaker 2: 47.
- 20:54Speaker 1: But his knees and stuff.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Not far off 50, mate. I didn't say it because
- 20:56Speaker 2: I thought you were an old, but.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Well, you called him old, though. You did. Kipped, didn't you? Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 1: But yeah, his knees aren't as good as they used
- 21:04Speaker 1: to be. So he hasn't been doing a lot of
- 21:06Speaker 1: long running stuff. Okay. I know he's been getting.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Stand to live a gal.
- 21:10Speaker 1: He's been getting some guys in that are really, really
- 21:12Speaker 1: tall timbers to do some sparring. I didn't get the
- 21:14Speaker 1: phone call. Yeah, I saw that. Nelson's a lot taller.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I would have said no. Yeah, he's been training the house. Oh,
- 21:22Speaker 1: he would.
- 21:23Speaker 3: The most likely option, if Nelson's going to win, is
- 21:26Speaker 3: just going to need to make contact with one of
- 21:29Speaker 3: those big swings.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Nelson wins, it's third round.
- 21:32Speaker 1: I'm telling you now, Gal can take a punch. Yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 1: oh yeah. Yeah, yeah. I go back to that Justice
- 21:38Speaker 1: Hooney fight. Gal said, I've never been hit like that before.
- 21:42Speaker 1: And he goes, and he did. He just kept on
- 21:44Speaker 1: coming forward and trying to find his shots. Yeah, I
- 21:48Speaker 1: do remember that. Yeah.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Well, mate, I'd hate to get hit by Justice Hooney too.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Yeah. I'd hate to.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Get hit by a real boxer.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I'd hate to get hit by Justice Crew.
- 22:04Speaker 2: But okay, here's one for you. Who wins and how
- 22:07Speaker 2: do they win?
- 22:09Speaker 1: G-Train wins, big overhand right, round two. Works the body.
- 22:13Speaker 1: And actually, it's going to be a body shot and
- 22:15Speaker 1: it's going to be a TKO. You reckon? Yeah, round two.
- 22:18Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 22:20Speaker 3: I'll go Nelson in an upset.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I reckon Nelson's going to clock in one.
- 22:24Speaker 3: He's going to swing big and he's going.
- 22:25Speaker 1: To clock in.
- 22:25Speaker 2: You just want Gal to punch it, don't you?
- 22:27Speaker 1: No. I reckon Nelson can do it.
- 22:31Speaker 3: And I need your protection, Nelson.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Gal. Gal's the outsider. Yeah, he's favourite, Nelson. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Okay.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Big Nelly from Welly. I don't think he deserves your favourite,
- 22:44Speaker 1: but he is.
- 22:45Speaker 2: It'd be a draw.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Is there such a thing?
- 22:48Speaker 1: Pick someone, mate.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Well, I've been hit by Nelson in footy.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It really hurts. And that wasn't a point.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It was just a tackle.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Five, four, three.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I said it for a joke, so I'll go Nelson
- 22:59Speaker 2: third round.
- 23:00Speaker 1: All right. All right. There you go. I love you, girl.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Proper knockout.
