- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: We'd like to call that here is the midday reset.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: And every one of us gets pulled off track, distractions, unexpected issues, even emotional drift can cause our influence to weaken and our intentions to blur.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: In the IMT series, in here at IA, we teach that influence begins with the individual.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: And you have the power to recalibrate at any moment.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: A midday reset is a small but powerful and a responsible influence that can help you to return to whatever your purpose was for that day or even that moment if you can re-engage your smart priorities and finish your day intentionally.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: rather than reactively.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: One of the most powerful tools that we have with this midday reset is getting reconnected with what our intentions are because oftentimes that just gets blurred over and pausing long enough on a cadence a midday cadence can there's a good place to start.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: What did I intend for today?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: From our book, Individual Influence Intention is the anchor of your influence.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: Reconnecting to your original goals allows you to identify where you've drifted, and it gives you permission to realign with those original goals.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a moment of honesty, quieting the noise that happens around us to chaos that happens, and builds quite frankly throughout our day, and it returns you to the eye in your day.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's really important that even though we teach I am we, you have to focus and be your best self and you're only your best self when you're focused on what your intentions are and you've slowed down and you've gotten more in touch with the specifics that you intended for the day and it also reminds you of what you already prioritized for yourself what is really going to matter.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: It also gives you a chance to reprioritize based on current reality, maybe there is going to be a pivot and you might have to slow down and move or read just what your intentions are, but midday is often when reality looks different than the morning plants instead of pushing through frustration or distraction use a reset to reprioritize with better clarity and ask what's still attainable today.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: what's changed and what can be deferred without guilt or without interruption of myself or other areas of responsibility.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: And you're not failing, you're practicing adaptive influence.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: From smart management, this is aligning your attainable and your relevant actions.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: So the rest of your day is meaningful, not rushed or chaotic, and in done in a way that can
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Also, a true reset for yourself isn't only cognitive, it's emotional and it's physical.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: Take a walk, breathe intentionally, hydrate, step away from your workspace, get out from in front of the screens or away from the phone.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: In our book positive influence, we teach that your internal state is one of the most powerful
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: or depletion.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: I find myself oftentimes feeling overwhelmed or tired.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: My eyes get tired, my brain just feels full and walking away, having a conversation, having a moment to myself can really get me back to feeling more centered and allow me to have a better focus on what I really need to do to get finished.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: a midday resets improves your timely approach.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: It allows you to get back to it is the right time by allowing you to have presence be calm and have that renewed energy and your influence will become
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: So like I know it's difficult sometimes to slow down and to just take pauses, but a midday reset is a gift you give to yourself.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: And everyone who experiences your influence gets that gift also.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's a reminder that influence isn't about perfection.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's about intentional course correction.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: By reconnecting reprioritizing and recentering, you reclaim the rest of your day with
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: as always remember your influence matters.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter who you are, what you're doing, you matter and what you do matters.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: So how you choose to reset can ripple outward in powerful positive ways.
