- 0:15We just started. This is a story of how sick jealousy cost two
- 0:23of my children their lives. I clearly remember the beginning of the relationship with
- 0:28my husband. It all started when I was about nineteen. I knew him
- 0:34by sight, I had seen him sometimes with his friends, but I had
- 0:38never paid much attention. However, when he started courting me, I realized
- 0:43that we had quite a few things in common and that he was a wonderful
- 0:48person. So soon after we met we started dating during the first months of
- 0:55our relationship. Everything was on wheels. One day, however, threatening letters
- 0:59addressed to me began to arrive, telling me to leave to my boyfriend that
- 1:03he belonged to that person and that I was getting into a relationship. At
- 1:10the time there were no social networks or cell phones, so receiving letters was
- 1:15not so strange, but I was very upset by all that situation. At
- 1:21first I thought that my then boyfriend might have had another relationship and that he
- 1:26had been cheating on me all that time, but when I asked him for
- 1:32an explanation, he told me that those letters had surely been sent by one
- 1:37of his ex- girlfriends, a really jealous and possessive person, who wouldn
- 1:41' t leave him alone, even though they had ended more than two years
- 1:44ago. At first, I doubted his word, as I had already heard
- 1:49similar stories about men doing that, so I told him that if what he
- 1:53was saying was true, he would have no problem facing his ex face to
- 1:57face to solve the situation. At first he showed resistance, but after threatening
- 2:04to end our relationship, he agreed. But I soon realized that her story
- 2:08was true and I also understood why she didn' t want to have any
- 2:14interaction with her ex When my boyfriend introduced me to her ex to talk,
- 2:20she completely freaked out in a matter of seconds, told me that no woman
- 2:24could love him like her and then tried to attack me. That was a
- 2:28truly disturbing experience and made me understand the gravity of the situation. I think
- 2:34that might have ended up in a very strong physical fight, but my boyfriend
- 2:38managed to avoid it and we moved away from the place before things got worse.
- 2:44And even though I thought that would be all I' d know about
- 2:49her, unfortunately everything got worse. The letters he started sending me were becoming
- 2:52more frequent and threatening. He threatened to hurt me or my family and even
- 2:58sent pictures of my sisters, who were smaller. Leaving school or other everyday
- 3:05situations that filled me with concern. I tried to go to the police to
- 3:12file a complaint or get a restraining order, but, as often happens in
- 3:15Mexico, the police didn' t do much about it and only told me
- 3:21that sending letters or photographs wasn' t considered a crime and until something more
- 3:25serious happened, they couldn' t intervene. I felt totally alone in that
- 3:30situation. My boyfriend had tried to talk to her several times to stop her,
- 3:36but every attempt ended in physical blows and even more threatening letters. I
- 3:42felt that that woman could do something terrible, but after a while I realized
- 3:46that she was just threatening and not acting. I decided to ignore her and
- 3:53not even open the letters she sent me. I would throw them directly into
- 3:57the trash or burn them without reading them, because my relationship with my boyfriend
- 4:00was still solid and we both felt it was time to take the next step
- 4:05and compromise. I agreed to compromise with him, but I told him that
- 4:10before we lived together, we had to make sure his ex- girlfriend couldn
- 4:15' t reach us. We started making arrangements for the wedding discreetly, so
- 4:18she wouldn' t find out. However, we realized that she was aware
- 4:24and that day, in the middle of the ceremony, made a whole scene,
- 4:29shouting that she was the perfect woman for him and ruining the moment.
- 4:34They had to practically force her out of the Church so that we could continue
- 4:40our marriage without further interruption. Although the situation in the Church was very difficult
- 4:46to swallow, the rest of the celebration went well. Despite that setback,
- 4:50I remember that day as one of the happiest days of my life. Besides,
- 4:56I wasn' t so worried, as we had everything ready to move
- 5:00to another city where I was sure she wouldn' t find us and for
- 5:06almost half a year, our life was full of happiness and there was no
- 5:12bother or appearance of that woman. However, after that period of peace,
- 5:15the letters began to arrive again. I immediately recognized who it was because of
- 5:21the lyrics and knew that it was not a simple joke of bad taste that
- 5:26that woman had found us again. Le. I told the situation to my
- 5:30husband, who was very upset and considered the idea of talking to her,
- 5:35but we discarded it because of the past situations in which we tried to dialogue.
- 5:40Finally, we decided what to ignore it would be the best option,
- 5:46hoping it would stop or get bored. Eventually they spent a few months with
- 5:50threatening letters that seemed to arrive almost every day, and then a new neighbor
- 5:56moved to the same neighborhood we lived in. For our prey she was my
- 6:00husband' s ex- girlfriend. From day one he started harassing us,
- 6:04always ready for a physical fight. Already tired of the situation, the only
- 6:11solution we found was to move. Without saying a word, we just packed
- 6:15our stuff and went to find another place, hoping this time she wouldn'
- 6:19t find us. However, the same thing happened to us in the next
- 6:25few moves and despite trying to get away, she always found us. It
- 6:30didn' t matter where we went or if we did this woman always appeared
- 6:36in our lives to harass us without rest. The situation got completely out of
- 6:41control when dead animals began to appear in front of our door, along with
- 6:46boxes, filled with rodents and insects to invade our home, until one day
- 6:51we managed to move as far away as possible by telling our location only to
- 6:58very close people who swore to keep the secret and finally we did it.
- 7:00I think it' s been two years without knowing anything about that woman.
- 7:05We even came to believe that we had achieved it, that we had finally
- 7:10gotten rid of it once and for all. During that period of time,
- 7:15I received one of the best news I' d ever had in my entire
- 7:18life. I was pregnant This news filled me and my husband with joy.
- 7:25We were both excited about the arrival of our new baby and now that we
- 7:30were almost certain that we had managed to get my husband' s ex out
- 7:34of our lives, we felt that everything would be better. But one day,
- 7:39while I was doing some shopping at the market, I met my husband
- 7:43' s ex, Although at first he gave me the same hostile look as
- 7:46ever. This time it was different, because she was already four months pregnant
- 7:51and that was noticeable. She went completely crazy seeing that and although I had
- 7:57seen her angry before, this situation was completely different. He seemed capable of
- 8:03anything. He wanted to attack me and yelled at me that he would kill
- 8:07the child I had in my womb. This seriously affected me, as now
- 8:11not only was my life in danger at the hands of that woman, but
- 8:16also that of my unborn child. I knew we should leave again. However,
- 8:20at that time, believing that we had already lost it, both my
- 8:24husband and I, had bought land and we were building a house in that
- 8:31same location, so there was no turning back. Although this was a very
- 8:37alarming thing, I was very surprised that nothing happened. Then, there were
- 8:41no threatening letters I didn' t even see her again. It was a
- 8:46very strange thing, as the last time I saw her I had gone crazy
- 8:50in a way that I just didn' t think I' d leave it
- 8:54that way. At that time I felt relieved, because I didn' t
- 8:58want my baby to be born in such a toxic environment. I figured that
- 9:01maybe I' d reconsidered everything that he' d been doing to us and
- 9:07finally decided to move on with his life, letting my husband and I go
- 9:11on with ours. But very soon our whole life began to get worse.
- 9:16What was a healthy relationship soon became a horrible thing. We started having too
- 9:22many fights and the money didn' t seem to be enough for anything.
- 9:26It didn' t matter how much we had. It seemed like it was
- 9:31never enough. We also began to accumulate debts and had to stop the construction
- 9:37of our house. The house we were renting at the time was filled with
- 9:41plagues. There were a lot of flies everywhere, no matter what I did.
- 9:46There also seemed to be a lot of cockroaches and, for the most
- 9:50part, it cleaned. There was no way I could get rid of them.
- 9:54During my sixth month of pregnancy, while I was doing a little cleaning
- 9:58for the house for the RN, my belly started to hurt so much it
- 10:03felt like I was being stabbed and at the same time I started having bleeding.
- 10:07I got out to ask for help from my neighbors, who quickly took
- 10:13me to the hospital and soon afterwards I fainted. The last thing I heard
- 10:18was that I was losing too much blood and, to my misfortune, when
- 10:24I opened my eyes, the first news I received was that, while I
- 10:28would be fine, my baby had died. This was a very hard hit.
- 10:31For me, as well as for my husband. At that time,
- 10:35neither of us knew how to continue. We' d been waiting so long
- 10:41for that baby and now it was just gone. At that time I plunged
- 10:43into a deep depression that lasted for several months. But after my baby died,
- 10:48my life, at least monetaryly, got better again. The plagues went
- 10:54back and things seemed to be back to normal. After that, I eventually
- 11:01started to recover. A little and two years later I got pregnant again,
- 11:05but this time I remember that I was too afraid. She was too careful
- 11:11about everything she ate or did, because she really felt she couldn' t
- 11:15bear another loss. But no matter how much I took care of myself when
- 11:20I was about two months pregnant, it all happened again in the same way
- 11:24as the first pregnancy. The fights began, the screams and the plagues reappeared.
- 11:31It was as if every pregnancy brought with it, a horrible curse and
- 11:35although I would like to say that nothing bad happened even though at first it
- 11:41seemed like I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy, the fourth month I lost my
- 11:46baby again and again it all seemed a total darkness. For a moment I
- 11:50thought it was all my fault and that my body was not designed to bring
- 11:56life to this world, and this made me even more depressed. I thought
- 12:00I' d never fulfill my dream of being a mother. I decided that
- 12:03I would never again try to get pregnant, not only because of the severe
- 12:09pain this caused me, but also because I did not want to conceive a
- 12:13child who could never see the light of the world. I talked about it
- 12:16with my husband, and even though it hurt too much for him, he
- 12:20understood me completely. This time it took me a lot longer to get out
- 12:24of that depressive state. I stopped working and stayed at home during that time.
- 12:28My husband stood by me and basically took care of working and accompanying me
- 12:33until I got through. It is important to mention that at that time the
- 12:39subject of psychologists or therapy was very demonized, so I never went to any
- 12:43to overcome all this pain I felt. Another year went by when we were
- 12:48no longer looking for any pregnancy and dedicated ourselves to working in that time we
- 12:54managed to finish our home where we began to live shortly after. However,
- 13:00even though we were using double contraception, one day I discovered that I was
- 13:05pregnant again. This terrified me a lot because I knew that, although it
- 13:11was my greatest desire to be a mom, that pregnancy would not come to
- 13:16an end because of what had already been going on back then. It was
- 13:20totally illegal to stop pregnancy, especially because by doing different studies, they realized
- 13:26that I was totally healthy and that, in fact, my pregnancy was too
- 13:31healthy for it to even be an option to interrupt. And even though she
- 13:35was afraid, that pregnancy went on. I was about a month pregnant when
- 13:41I had a very scary dream, which I vividly remember to this day.
- 13:48In the dream I remembered being on a kind of very large sidewalk that seemed
- 13:52to have no end of any kind, but something inside of me knew I
- 13:56should move forward, so I started walking down ahl that dirt road and suddenly,
- 14:01a bitch came out of the bush. That animal scared me too much,
- 14:05but at the same time it intrigued me, since, even though it
- 14:11was too big, it was also too thin, so thin that all its
- 14:16ribs were seen. It was not of a specific race, but I clearly
- 14:20remember that it was light brown and its eyes were blue. At first,
- 14:26that animal just walked beside me without doing virtually any kind of interaction and although
- 14:31it didn' t seem to want to attack me, I knew that I
- 14:35should be a prudent distance from her, so I kept moving behind her without
- 14:41any intention of exceeding her. However, at some point in the dream I
- 14:46saw that bitch stop staying static for a few seconds, so I did the
- 14:52same without knowing what was going on. And after that, that bitch turned
- 14:58her head to stare at me, It seemed like she was examining me and
- 15:03after that, with a voice too much like my husband' s ex-
- 15:07girlfriend, she told me all your bastard children are going to die if you
- 15:11don' t get away from him. She mentioned my husband' s name
- 15:15in the dream, but for security reasons I prefer not to mention it.
- 15:20This iced my blood, especially because almost immediately that animal began to stand on
- 15:24two legs and laugh unbridledly in such a diabolical way that I woke up startled.
- 15:31At that moment I woke up crying and told my husband everything I had
- 15:37dreamed of until that moment. Neither of us believed too much in the whole
- 15:41paranormal issue. However, we could not deny that it was too inexplicable that
- 15:48everything that was happening to us seemed to start every time there was a pregnancy.
- 15:54My husband told his mother and she, almost without wasting time, made
- 15:56an appointment with a woman who was doing clean and witchcraft as soon as we
- 16:03arrived with her, without having to tell her anything, told us that someone
- 16:07had done me a work of black magic too strong that was not only hurting
- 16:12me, but who I loved the most. I remember we made some kind
- 16:17of clean and then he sat me on a table and made me drink some
- 16:21drinks. Then he told us that he had had a vision in which he
- 16:26was told that there was a witchcraft work buried in the courtyard of our house
- 16:30and told us that evil was there, that we should take it out and
- 16:36take it away almost without wasting time. We went to look at the place
- 16:38that indicated us and, to our surprise and also to our horror, we
- 16:44found something buried. There was not only a photograph of me with a number
- 16:48of pins nailed, but also three small bottles filled with what seemed to be
- 16:52earth, one looked newer than the other, which for me was an indication
- 16:57that each of those small bottles had been buried in that place. Every time
- 17:03I got pregnant, I had basically killed my children and no one noticed,
- 17:10I had been entering the courtyard of our house to bury these things. There
- 17:15was a bottle too new that clearly indicated my new baby. We took out
- 17:22all that witchcraft work and took it to the lady to see what she was
- 17:26and what she could do. Upon arrival, she affirmed everything we had thought
- 17:30and confirmed that she had indeed been entering our house without anyone noticing her and
- 17:34had buried those things, those bottles represented the soul of the little babies they
- 17:41could never do. They tried to clean me up for several days. However,
- 17:48that thing was so strong that they couldn' t take it away from
- 17:52me. But I, seriously, had a deep determination that all those bad
- 17:56vibes and that witchcraft work would get rid of me, since that way my
- 18:02baby could be born. That was too hard a job for that one,
- 18:07ma' am, to take it off. So he recommended I go to
- 18:11catemaco with an acquaintance of his who could help me take everything off. When
- 18:17we got to the place where the man who could help us was, he
- 18:21was already aware of the whole case, he started doing a clean one,
- 18:26but after a while he stopped and told me that there was no easy way
- 18:29to take that thing away from me and that the only solution was for the
- 18:33job to be transferred to someone else. I was worried, because I didn
- 18:37' t want anyone else to suffer everything that I was going through at the
- 18:42time, but that man explained to me that I wouldn' t pass it
- 18:47on to any innocent person, but basically it was about going back to that
- 18:52woman who had done me that job, although I know she totally deserved it.
- 18:56I doubted it for a moment, because I did not want to be
- 18:59so bad, but, however, being the only solution to our problems,
- 19:03I ended up agreeing. That' s how that man managed to take that
- 19:07job away from me and told me that everything bad he' d done to
- 19:11me was going back to the person. But I went home twice, and
- 19:15as the months passed, I noticed that my whole life had improved this time.
- 19:21This pregnancy was nothing like the others and soon came to an end giving
- 19:25birth to my first daughter. I was too happy that that nightmare had an
- 19:30end, but the story doesn' t end there. Although I didn'
- 19:36t have anything wrong anymore. Very soon I learned that this woman had become
- 19:40seriously ill. It was as if it was deteriorating for no reason and no
- 19:45doctor could find a diagnosis. Nobody knew what he had and eventually ended up
- 19:52dying. I have always believed that this whole situation was nothing more than the
- 19:56return of all the evil that threw at me and my espo. Deep down,
- 20:00I know he deserved it, but something inside me can' t help
- 20:03but feel guilty about the end he had. This is a story that happened
- 20:15to me when I was 14. At that time, my mother had been
- 20:21dead for almost five years, leaving my three brothers and I to care for
- 20:25my father. Although to be honest, he didn' t do a good
- 20:30job, since my mom' s death I always felt like he was acting
- 20:34like a child, taking only money home. I was the one who had
- 20:40to take care of everything else for the simple fact of being the older sister.
- 20:44My father jumped from one relationship to another and was rarely at home,
- 20:48as if he wasn' t working, he was on a date. And
- 20:52the worst part was that he wasn' t anything discreet. They were close
- 20:56people when my father was bored of them. Not having more or less respect
- 21:00for those people, he just stopped talking to them. I never knew of
- 21:06any couple I' d ended up with in a right way, and I
- 21:11honestly think it was more embarrassing for us than it was for him to run
- 21:15into those people when it was all over. But her childish behavior was not
- 21:19only limited to her loving relationships, but she also used to have problems with
- 21:25everyone. He often got drunk and fought with anyone he saw and, if
- 21:30there was no one, he would destroy any property, causing him to have
- 21:34trouble with the neighbors or even the landlord in turn, and this caused us
- 21:40to be evicted over and over again. We never stayed more than three months
- 21:45anywhere. It was in one of these moves that we arrived at the building
- 21:51where this story happened to me. I remember none of us were happy,
- 21:55since we had passed a house with a room for each, that small two
- 22:00- bedroom apartment and one was for my father, so it was time to
- 22:04share with others, but we knew there wasn' t much to do,
- 22:11since, after spending almost five years moving around at all times, the options
- 22:15were less and less. We were unpacking. When someone knocked on the door,
- 22:22my father opened it and was a woman with Chinese and black hair,
- 22:26and although she was a little older, she was really well preserved and had
- 22:30a good body. He greeted us all kindly by telling us that he lived
- 22:34in the apartment across the street, but I don' t know there was
- 22:41something in his forest that just didn' t inspire me any confidence. It
- 22:42was like he wasn' t honest, like he was just trying to get
- 22:48us off the guard with his kindness He had a plate of food with him.
- 22:52He told us that he had seen us arrive and that she knew how
- 22:56difficult it was to move, that she was sure that that would be much
- 23:00more difficult with children, so she had taken the dare to prepare us food
- 23:06and also said that she could give us the key to her internet, that
- 23:11if we needed anything, we would not hesitate to ask her, since that
- 23:14was what the neighbors were for. My father received the plate of food and
- 23:17also stayed talking to the neighbor for a very good time. At that moment
- 23:22I knew that woman would be another one of my father' s many conquests.
- 23:26Because of fate, we never got to eat that food. It wasn
- 23:30' t because of mistrust or not wanting it. In fact, from what
- 23:34I remember, I also smelled like we just wanted to find the box with
- 23:40the dishes to eat. However, my father left the plate with food on
- 23:42top of some boxes and two of my brothers, for playing, threw away
- 23:48those boxes, which caused all the food to fall to the floor, so
- 23:52we never got to eat it. But when the neighbor later asked if we
- 23:56liked it, we all answered that it would be yes, that it had
- 24:00been very good, although we never actually verified it. We didn' t
- 24:06want to hurt her feelings at the time. To tell you the truth,
- 24:10it seemed a little strange to me, because I remember when that woman asked
- 24:15us if we liked the food and we told her that it was good,
- 24:18she acted in a somewhat strange way. It was as if I expected something
- 24:22and for what I lived with this woman later, I always thought that the
- 24:29food she gave us could come to have something, but it' s something
- 24:33I can never know. After a couple of days of living in that place,
- 24:37my father started a relationship with her. At first, none of us
- 24:42thought it would have any impact on our lives, beyond how uncomfortable it would
- 24:47be when my father left her. But on one occasion, while we were
- 24:52making friends with the other children in the building, they told us that my
- 24:57dad was dating the witch. You ask him. We noticed what they meant
- 25:00by that and they told us that this woman was a witch and everyone in
- 25:04the building knew about it. We were told that the plants or pets of
- 25:08people I had problems with were always dying. But the truth is, we
- 25:15didn' t give them credit at the time, and we assumed they were
- 25:18building gossip. Everything changed when my father, as he had done before,
- 25:22ended up with that woman without giving her any explanation. He didn' t
- 25:29seem to understand it at first, and he went to our department a couple
- 25:33of times to talk. However, he was never there, or even when
- 25:37he did tell us to tell him that he was not home, so we
- 25:41only obeyed what entrusted us. The woman did not give up and reached the
- 25:45point where my father had to face her face and tell her openly that he
- 25:49no longer wanted to be with her. But, as the classic person who
- 25:53does not usually have emotional responsibility, instead of openly saying what he felt,
- 25:59he did not excuse us. He told her we didn' t like her
- 26:03seeing her and that' s why she' d have to end the relationship.
- 26:07And even though this seemed to be the end, the truth is that
- 26:11the woman at that time went completely mad and started cursing him and even tried
- 26:15to hit him. My father all he did was go back into the apartment
- 26:21and leave her screaming and cursing in the hallway, as far as I remember,
- 26:26he even made a joke. About that. What I will relate below
- 26:30are things in chronological order of how this woman was making life more difficult for
- 26:34us. At first. It all started with a little inexplicable things, which
- 26:41we didn' t relate to. They were small things, like falling glasses
- 26:45with water from the table or a few things appeared in a different place than
- 26:51we had left them. Although we were four children at home, we never
- 26:56gave him the importance he deserved. We always thought that some brother had done
- 27:02it because he wasn' t paying enough attention or just playing some kind of
- 27:07joke. So, as far as that' s concerned, I don'
- 27:10t remember it as something that disturbed us, although every time we look back,
- 27:15we believe that the paranormal activity we experience after our father' s breakup
- 27:21with that woman. It probably started this way. I guess since none of
- 27:26us seemed really disturbed by this it was that it started to raise the level.
- 27:32I remember the first time something really big happened was while we were sleeping.
- 27:37I was already dreaming, but suddenly, between dreams, I heard as
- 27:41if someone were crying and when I opened my eyes, I realized that it
- 27:47was not a dream, but reality. I turned around and saw my younger
- 27:52brother, who was five at the time. I was pointing to the door
- 27:56and saying that there it was in the dark. He couldn' t see
- 28:00anything and his crying made the other two wake up, but none of them
- 28:06could see anyone. Since I' m the older sister, I had to
- 28:10arm myself with courage and get up to light the light. Luckily, the
- 28:12switch was on the other end that my brother pointed at, so I walked
- 28:17over there and quickly turned it on. However, I will always wish I
- 28:23had not done so, as we almost instantly saw it. It was the
- 28:27neighbor standing in one of the corners of the room, staring at us,
- 28:33she looked too upset and repeated over and over that we had been the culprits
- 28:37and after about a minute she simply disappeared. It was a very strange thing,
- 28:44like it was some sort of hologram. We were too scared. We
- 28:49all went to tell our father, but he didn' t pay attention to
- 28:52us. On the contrary, he scolded me for encouraging those lies to my
- 28:59rather sad brothers, so we went back to our room to go back to
- 29:03sleep, but this time we were so scared that we moved the beds to
- 29:07sleep together. And, fortunately, for the rest of the night we no
- 29:11longer experienced that presence that scared us so much, even though that night we
- 29:18did not experience that again. The truth is that from that day on,
- 29:22paranormal activity began to become even stronger. Sometimes we just walked out of the
- 29:29room for a few seconds, and when we got back, everything was messed
- 29:32up. Not only paper or trash thrown away, but very often the furniture
- 29:37was flipped and the beds thrown away. The strange thing was that no particular
- 29:42sound was heard, only from one moment to the next. Everything got out
- 29:47of place and it got messy. I don' t have any other way
- 29:52to explain it. Besides, we all started having a lot of nightmares,
- 29:57all related to that woman. In the dreams. He always said awful things
- 30:02to us, like our mom was in hell and we' d end up
- 30:07there, too. If we stood between her and our father, none of
- 30:11us knew what to do, for the person who should believe us did not.
- 30:18I remember one time someone knocked on the door while we were alone my
- 30:22brothers and my brother, who was nine years old, ran to open without
- 30:27checking who he was and to our surprise was that woman. My brother got
- 30:32really scared, so I almost immediately went out and asked him what he wanted.
- 30:37She smiled and accepted in a rather kind way saying that she just wanted
- 30:42to make peace. He had a big box of pizza in his hands and
- 30:45offered it to us saying he bought it for us. However, I wasn
- 30:52' t so sure, so I just thanked him and locked the door.
- 30:56The two younger ones wanted to eat, but that whole situation gave me a
- 31:00bad feeling, so I told them no and I didn' t want to
- 31:04take it out and have the neighbor see me. I left the pizza in
- 31:08the area where the washing machine was and locked that door to stop someone from
- 31:12eating it. To my surprise. The next morning, when I went to
- 31:18pull her out, she was completely infested with larvae and other insects. Besides,
- 31:25she had a lot of hair very similar to that neighbor' s.
- 31:30I tried to tell my father, but he told me he was just exaggerating
- 31:33and he didn' t give it too much importance, so I just threw
- 31:37it away. But while taking out the boats, I noticed that the neighbor
- 31:41had seen that she was throwing away the box with everything and pizza, but
- 31:48she quickly went back into her apartment without engaging in any conversation with me.
- 31:52A couple of days after that had happened, the neighbor knocked again at our
- 31:56door, but this time I looked through the peephole and when I saw that
- 32:00it was her, I went back and made a sign for my brothers to
- 32:06keep quiet, hoping that the neighbor would think that there was no one at
- 32:09home. However, she did not leave and kept knocking on the door.
- 32:15After about two minutes he said he knew we were there, so I had
- 32:20no choice but to open the door. I remember I made up a very
- 32:25silly excuse, like I was washing dishes or something, something that was obvious,
- 32:30that wasn' t true, since I didn' t even have wet
- 32:34hands. Still, the neighbor told me not to worry and gave me a
- 32:37plate with what seemed to be chocolate cake. He told us he baked it
- 32:42and he thought we' d like it. I felt a little uncomfortable,
- 32:46but without knowing exactly how to respond, I just accepted and thanked him.
- 32:52I was about to close the door when suddenly, she put her hand to
- 32:55stop me. I felt a chill of fear, but I tried not to
- 33:00show it and suddenly, the neighbor told me that I could taste the cake
- 33:06in front of her. I really didn' t like this at all.
- 33:09I tried to make another excuse, like I had just brushed my teeth,
- 33:15but the neighbor didn' t give up and told me if I couldn'
- 33:19t, then I would give it to one of my brothers, as I
- 33:23really wanted to know their opinion. My younger brother almost immediately volunteered, but
- 33:27something in all that situation gave me no confidence, so I said no.
- 33:34At that time the neighbor got quite defensive and began to get upset, telling
- 33:38us that we were going to regret it. So, scared, I closed
- 33:43the door keeping the cake. My brothers wanted to prove it, but I
- 33:47didn' t leave them and threw it away to my surprise. The next
- 33:51morning it was exactly like pizza full of insects and other bugs, also with
- 33:58a lot of hair. The worst part was that my father just didn'
- 34:02t give him the importance he should. Whenever I told him, he told
- 34:07me that I was exaggerating or that it was normal. If I left the
- 34:10food outside, I felt too lonely in this whole situation and at that time
- 34:16I believed that everything that had happened to us was the worst thing that woman
- 34:22could do. But I was about to start something even more horrible. We
- 34:27' re starting to get both my brothers and I sick. We had a
- 34:30fever two with a lot of phlegm and a strange purple rash. This whole
- 34:35thing was pretty weird. We went to a lot of doctors, but none
- 34:39of us knew we had. Everyone thought it might be some allergy, but
- 34:44every day we got worse and we had to stay home all day. I
- 34:49remember we felt terrible. We had no energy to do anything at all.
- 34:53Our father had to work, so he wasn' t with us either and
- 35:00the strange thing was that he never showed any symptoms of getting the disease,
- 35:05which reinforced the doctors' theory that it was some allergy or something similar.
- 35:09On one of the occasions we were home, all we could do was watch
- 35:14TV. We were trying to find some entertaining program for the four of us.
- 35:20Finally, we put on a movie. However, a couple of minutes
- 35:23after selecting the film, the channels began to change. This was very strange,
- 35:31as the remote control was on the table and none of us were touching
- 35:35it. Not only that, we also began to feel very cold, more
- 35:42than normal and suddenly stopped on a channel that we had never seen before.
- 35:46It was like a very rudimentary home broadcast. The characters looked like puppets,
- 35:52but like the typical string and wood puppets. The most disturbing thing was that
- 35:59they seemed to be characterized as we and our neighbor across the street. Suddenly,
- 36:06the puppet representing the neighbor began to repeatedly beat the puppets who represented us,
- 36:10laughing wildly. We were all in choc watching that without understanding what was
- 36:20going on. After that, the neighbor' s puppet looked directly at the
- 36:23screen as if she knew we were watching and began to laugh even louder and
- 36:30at that time the TV volume also increased to its peak. I tried to
- 36:37take the remote to turn off the TV, but I couldn' t make
- 36:43it work, even when I disconnected it. The image of the laughing puppet
- 36:46continued for almost two more minutes before it finally went out. None of us
- 36:52dared turn on the TV. That day we all went to our frightened room
- 36:59and the next morning the situation became even more complicated. For my younger brother,
- 37:04that disease began to affect him much more than others and began to have
- 37:08seizures due to high fevers and the purple rash covered much of his body.
- 37:15The doctors had no explanation or treatment for what was happening to him in those
- 37:22days. Our maternal grandmother visited us and when she saw that all her grandchildren
- 37:27were sick, she became alarmed and despaired We told her everything that had been
- 37:31going on with her neighbor and how we thought she had caused us this evil.
- 37:36My worried grandmother decided to take us all out of the apartment and take
- 37:40us home. Even though we didn' t get better right away, we
- 37:46saw a big improvement once we got out of that place. Fevers decreased and
- 37:50chills stopped. Our maternal grandmother decided to take us to a clean lady to
- 37:57help us get rid of whatever was affecting us. The woman explained to us
- 38:02that someone had cursed us to die and helped us to free ourselves from that
- 38:07curse, assuring us that whoever had thrown it at us would be returned.
- 38:13I clearly remember how the rash began to disappear from our skin almost as if
- 38:19by magic and how we felt healthier after cleaning. Our maternal grandfather proposed that
- 38:23we stay with them. Indignant that our situation had reached that point because of
- 38:30our father' s negligence and to anyone' s surprise. Our father accepted
- 38:35right away, but when we went to the apartment for our things, we
- 38:40realized something. It had been about two weeks and we found a wake right
- 38:45across the street. We learned that the woman had contracted a serious illness and
- 38:50had died in a matter of days and although no one could explain it,
- 38:54it is clear to me that the evil she desired was returned to her and
- 38:59she could not resist it. Currently, my brothers and I live normal and
- 39:02happy lives and I am grateful that I have never experienced anything like this again.
- 39:15This is a real story. My brothers and I remember her perhaps more
- 39:20than we would like. It happened when I was about seven or eight years
- 39:24old, my sister a year older than me and my brother a year younger.
- 39:29Together with our mother, we were constantly moving. At that time,
- 39:35my mom was a single mother and could barely pay the rent, so we
- 39:39were always looking for cheaper places to survive in the city. We went through
- 39:45eight different places during that period, but the worst experience for me was in
- 39:51that neighborhood we moved to. It was a building that looked very old and,
- 39:57from what I learned later, it was something that was built in times
- 40:00of the porphyriate. The apartment we rented was on the second floor and while
- 40:06I was helping mom put the boxes with our stuff in the house I saw
- 40:09something strange and at first I didn' t consider it weird. The window
- 40:14of the neighboring department seemed to be completely dark, but as I looked closer,
- 40:21I realized that it was not the darkness that I saw, but a
- 40:24curtain so black that I did not let the light pass. And then,
- 40:28at one point I saw those curtains slowly open revealing only hair, a long
- 40:34black hair that seemed to stick to the glass. It was strange, but
- 40:39I decided not to think too much about it and I continued to help my
- 40:43mom. The three of us shared the same room, which didn' t
- 40:50bother us much, as it almost always was. And while we were trying
- 40:53to divide the room as fairly as possible, something happened. We were arguing
- 40:59about the place near the window, when we heard a strong blow that seemed
- 41:04to come from the neighboring department and although we were used to noisy neighbors,
- 41:10this blow was so strong that it made all the walls of our room rumble.
- 41:15None of us meant anything since we were already used to different types of
- 41:21people and places because of how often we moved. Besides, we had heard
- 41:27Mom say that neighborhood was the only thing I could afford at the time,
- 41:31so we knew we shouldn' t ruin it. That' s why none
- 41:37of us said anything and we just thought that probably the person on the other
- 41:42side of the wall had been bothered by the noise we made and that'
- 41:45s why he had hit her. As a warning. However, during the
- 41:50first week we realized something more strange. Although the coup at PARED was not
- 41:54repeated. We began to notice that throughout the house very, very much hair
- 42:00appeared. At first, they were just strands here and there, but then
- 42:05we found whole balls of hair or large amounts under the beds. Every time
- 42:09we cleaned, the strange thing was that the hair was too long and too
- 42:15black. In short, it could not belong to any of us. Mom
- 42:19had very short hair and even though my sister had it long, it was
- 42:23from a clear coffee, so it was impossible for all that hair loss to
- 42:29be out of her. This started to be very strange, both for Mom
- 42:34and for us. But by not being able to find a logical explanation,
- 42:38we were just cleaning everything up. Even Mom made a rule that we couldn
- 42:43' t open any windows, that she didn' t have a mosquito net
- 42:47and that we should never leave the door open. I remember that during our
- 42:52first months on the spot we never saw much movement in the apartment next door.
- 42:57In fact, we didn' t even see anyone get out of there.
- 43:00And if it wasn' t for the occasional noises we heard, we
- 43:06might have thought it was empty there was a restaurant that if one of its
- 43:12waitresses didn' t come, they would call Mom to cover those shifts.
- 43:15It was always at night and on one occasion, when Mom took a couple
- 43:19of night shifts, we had become friends with some children who lived at the
- 43:23end of the street, whose father also worked as a watchman. They invited
- 43:29us to see a movie at his house. So, knowing that Mom wouldn
- 43:32' t be back until late, we accepted and by the time we got
- 43:37back to the neighborhood. It was about eleven o' clock at night.
- 43:39We were walking quietly towards our apartment to go to bed before Mom came back.
- 43:46And that' s when we saw the person who lived next to us.
- 43:52She was too old a woman. He was seen for his bent posture
- 43:57and also because he used a walking stick. But that wasn' t the
- 44:00strange thing. The strange thing was that he had a black hair, too
- 44:06black considering his advanced age. It was more than reasonable for him to have
- 44:09hair full of gray hair, but this was not the case. I don
- 44:14' t know if he painted his hair or anything like that, but at
- 44:19the time I could only think that that hair didn' t seem to be
- 44:22from that body. But, if that were not enough, that hair was
- 44:27not what could be said normal either was too long. A part of him
- 44:31being dragged down the floor while she climbed the stairs, although this one did
- 44:37not look dirty, but quite the opposite. He was as clean and silky
- 44:42as the rest. In case this entire description is not enough, both my
- 44:46brothers and I can give the truth that that old woman was coming out cold.
- 44:52While we were walking to our house down the street, we felt nothing
- 44:57cold, but as soon as we looked at it we could feel our whole
- 45:01body starting to cool down. With only his presence. The three of us
- 45:06stayed petrified at the foot of the ladder. None of us had the courage
- 45:10to start climbing, at least not until that old lady was no longer there.
- 45:15Finally, when the old woman was upstairs, she turned down looking at
- 45:22us and after several months we could see her face, although it was a
- 45:25little covered. Therefore, hair that still had we could see clearly his eyes
- 45:30of a rather strange gray color. He looked at all three of us for
- 45:35a couple of seconds before turning back and moving on. We didn' t
- 45:42dare climb the stairs until we heard his apartment door close somehow. I have
- 45:50always felt somewhat responsible for what happened, although I was just a child and
- 45:53at that age there is little sense of congruence. I just feel like I
- 45:59had to act differently. Perhaps if I had, the story would have taken
- 46:04a completely different course, since the next morning I was the one who was
- 46:09responsible for spreading the news to all the children in the neighborhood, and this
- 46:15situation quickly spread like smoke. All of a sudden, all the children nearby
- 46:21knew it and very soon many of them challenged themselves to look out the windows
- 46:24of the so- called Witch, although none of the brave ones who dared
- 46:30to do so managed to see anything, because, as I said before,
- 46:36the windows were covered by thick black curtains that did not allow any natural light
- 46:40to pass through into the Women' s department. I remember that for several
- 46:45weeks the issue of the Witch between my friends and I was so recurring that
- 46:50it was practically spoken daily. We were wondering what kind of curses she could
- 46:54throw or if she was an evil witch. And to be completely honest,
- 46:58I loved all the attention I was getting. I told them how his hair
- 47:05appeared in my house almost every day, and that made everyone want to go
- 47:08to my house to check for themselves. I even started getting a weight to
- 47:14get in. Everything got out of control very quickly and without realizing it.
- 47:19There were a lot of kids there to make jokes about that witch. At
- 47:22first, the jokes were too innocent. They were just going as close as
- 47:30possible to his apartment and shouting the word witch and then running out of there
- 47:35and hiding in my apartment. But the jokes didn' t end there since
- 47:39seeing no one come out when they said those words, we started knocking on
- 47:45the door first, once or twice just to run out right away. When
- 47:51we did that, we hid behind huge pots and sometimes we could see from
- 47:58a distance according to how that woman opened the door, but never saw anyone.
- 48:05That only made all the children confirm my story of the witch, since
- 48:08now they had seen her with her gray eyes and long hair, which,
- 48:14clearly in our childish mind, was indicative of that woman being a witch.
- 48:22I remember clearly that when the knocks were no longer enough for us, we
- 48:27started throwing stones at her every time that woman looked out the door. They
- 48:30weren' t big stones, they were just little stones we threw at her
- 48:37while we called her Witch. And although I would like to say that I
- 48:39never participated in those things, the reality is that I was the one who
- 48:45usually encouraged everyone, as for example, on one occasion I had seen a
- 48:51movie in which the witch was melted with a little water, and this seemed
- 48:53to me to be a great idea. I remember that with the help of
- 48:58my neighbor, who had a pile of water, I proposed this wonderful idea
- 49:02and although my sister told me that I should not do that, that it
- 49:07was not right, I did not listen and followed my plan. By that
- 49:12time, almost none of the children dared to knock on the door, as
- 49:16that old woman had begun to open the door almost instantly and had already seen
- 49:22some of them walk away and, in addition to shouting some curses, said
- 49:28that the old woman had gone to talk to her mothers. After that,
- 49:30however, I wanted to carry out my plan at all costs. He convinced
- 49:36my little brother that he was the one to touch and then to run away
- 49:40so that in this way he could wet the witch and get rid of her
- 49:45evil once and for all. At first, my brother didn' t want
- 49:50to do it, but after a while I managed to convince him and we
- 49:54started carrying out the plan. And while I was hiding behind some pots waiting
- 49:59for my hand brother to do his part, my sister was by my side
- 50:02remembering that it would be best not to do anything, but it was too
- 50:07late. My brother knocked on the door and, to his misfortune, barely
- 50:12gave the first knock that woman opened the door in one blow, as if
- 50:15she were already waiting for that. And at that moment we panicked, for
- 50:21that long- haired woman took my brother from her arm without letting go and
- 50:24shook him very abruptly. I was armed with false courage, took that water
- 50:31pistol and started spraying the old woman' s face and, although for obvious
- 50:35reasons, it did not melt, released my brother and almost immediately entered the
- 50:39apartment back. For the first time, that woman saw exactly the face of
- 50:45us, three of us who had been making life impossible for several weeks now.
- 50:52At that point, the three of us got in and we felt so
- 50:57scared that we didn' t go out and play all day. We just
- 51:00stayed locked in our room, thinking that the witch would tell our mother what
- 51:05we did to her or worse, like she could throw some curse at us.
- 51:09However, that woman’ s reprisals were much worse. I will never
- 51:15forget that during that night, when I finally got to sleep, I began
- 51:20to dream something very strange. I was running in a kind of maze,
- 51:24but that wasn' t the scariest thing in the dream, but I was
- 51:30running because a giant ball of black hair was behind me and besides, I
- 51:36could hear like a demonic voice Salia from inside all that tangle of hair and,
- 51:40by the way, that I was trying to run away was not possible
- 51:44at some point. I was totally cornered in the maze and suddenly, as
- 51:47that ball of hair drew closer and closer, I could see between it round
- 51:52grey eyes staring at me. I knew if I got caught, I'
- 52:00d get back to part of that hairball. I was about to get caught
- 52:04when I finally woke up. However, my nightmare was just about to begin,
- 52:09for almost immediately I realized that what had awakened me had not been the
- 52:13dream itself, but I was listening to noises. And those noises were nothing
- 52:20but my younger brother, who was coughing in a desperate way as if he
- 52:24was short of breath. I wanted to go ask my mom for help,
- 52:30but at the time I realized it wasn' t even midnight yet and so
- 52:34my mom hadn' t come back from her night shift yet. I approached
- 52:37my brother to see what was happening to him. My sister said she might
- 52:44be choking with her own saliva, but the reality was much scarier. By
- 52:49turning on the light we could realize that my brother had his mouth full of
- 52:54hair, long black hair that seemed to be stuck up his throat and,
- 53:00for the most part, that we started to pull them out. It was
- 53:05going out longer and more we took about two minutes to get rid of absolutely
- 53:10all the hair in his mouth. It was too gross to see the huge
- 53:15amount of hair inside him We breathed relief. But seconds later we realized that
- 53:22this tangle of hair was starting to move. It was almost as if I
- 53:27had a life of my own and I only managed to see how it slipped
- 53:31under the door and I no longer dared to open up to look more or
- 53:35follow it. And after that day, the hair problem got worse. While
- 53:39hair could become a problem before all that madness broke loose, it was just
- 53:45lying in some parts of the house. But since that long- haired old
- 53:52lady had seen us now, the hair was literally everywhere. Every thing that
- 53:58came into our house automatically had to have hair. It didn' t matter
- 54:04if they were closed packages like cereal or frying. You could literally finish buying
- 54:08them in the store and if you went into the house and opened them,
- 54:13you could see too much hair inside them, entangled, between your food or
- 54:16on the floor, also in the shower, while you rinsed your head,
- 54:22you could feel as between your fingers you started to have hair that clearly couldn
- 54:28' t be yours. I even remember trying to bathe in pairs by getting
- 54:31one to wash the other' s head, but the result was always the
- 54:36same. In between the foam it was impossible for you to see the moment
- 54:40when it began to appear and the washbasins were always stuck. So, hair.
- 54:45When I tried, I had a clear memory of how my mother didn
- 54:50' t want to worry us She was also aware that that wasn' t
- 54:54normal. I have memories of several priests blessing our house and such clean people.
- 55:00However, none of that served. Always. I thought that, in
- 55:06addition to never telling my mother directly what had happened, the reason we didn
- 55:09' t move quickly was because of the economic reason and also because of the
- 55:15simple fact that nothing so serious ever happened to my mother. Just our house
- 55:20that was getting full of hair. But in the case of my brothers and
- 55:23I, the situation was completely different. We could wake up at midnight being
- 55:30suffocated because our hair was getting into our mouths or noses. That was something
- 55:36that began to happen so often that it became relatively normal to fix. On
- 55:42another occasion, while I was sleeping, I heard between dreams how my younger
- 55:46brother was screaming and when he opened his eyes, those screams kept ringing,
- 55:52so when I turned both I and my sister saw horrified as I was stuck
- 55:58to the wall tied with hair. It was as if the hair was trying
- 56:02to pull him into the other apartment, at the same time we heard that
- 56:07macabre laugh from a woman on the other side. All this happened when our
- 56:12mother had the night shifts, so she never really found out what was going
- 56:15on. I remember we even tried to slip a little paper under the door
- 56:22of the Witch House to apologize. However, this was of no use,
- 56:28as those events continued to happen. Eventually, our mother couldn' t cope
- 56:35with the fact that so much hair appeared in the house for no specific reason,
- 56:39and she got another place to move us. And even though until a
- 56:44year ago she managed to get a job stable enough that we could finally stay
- 56:50in a house, our mother doesn' t know everything we' ve been
- 56:54through in that neighborhood. She tells the story as something very strange that happened
- 56:59to r always referring to the hair, but none of us has ever wanted
- 57:05to tell her what we live with the witch on the side. I'
- 57:15m very desperate today. This has lasted almost three years and although I am
- 57:20aware that I was the cause of everything I am suffering today. By seriously
- 57:23sharing this, I hope I can find a solution to all my problems.
- 57:30Throughout my life I have always had a great fascination and taste for everything related
- 57:35to fantasy, magic and mythology. And even though it was all just entertainment
- 57:42to me, I never really imagined that any of that could be real.
- 57:45I used to take it as a fun thing to have a good time with.
- 57:51But everything changed when I went into high school and met my best friend,
- 57:54whom I will call Esmeralda to protect her identity. When I met her,
- 58:00I noticed that Esmeralda also liked all those issues of witchcraft and science fiction,
- 58:05so I quickly thought we could be very good friends. But the more
- 58:09I talked to her, the more I realized that unlike me, Esmeralda did
- 58:14not take that as things that could not happen in real life. She was
- 58:20absolutely sure that magic and spells could be real. At first I was skeptical,
- 58:28but Esmeralda began to introduce me more. In this world of witchcraft they
- 58:31were things like astrology, crystals, reading tarot and all that sort of esotericism.
- 58:38After a while, I began to enjoy it a lot, as I
- 58:43felt that something really happened every time I used all those things. Very soon
- 58:49we both started to level up trying to make small spells at midnight to bring
- 58:53wealth or good auguries for some exam. It was a secret between the two
- 59:00of us, because, while we didn' t think we were doing anything
- 59:05wrong, we also knew that many people could make fun of us for doing
- 59:10it to a reasonable extent. I felt that all of that worked and,
- 59:13therefore, I liked this whole subject even more for that moment of my life.
- 59:17I felt there was a whole world related to the magic I really wanted
- 59:22to explore. I remember that we were already close to our senior year of
- 59:28high school, when a new girl entered the classroom and from the first moment
- 59:32I saw her I was quite in love with her. I didn' t
- 59:37know how to explain it, but I knew I needed her to be my
- 59:39girlfriend. I remember that day, during the hour of rest. I went
- 59:45with her and tried to tell her my intentions by asking her out, but
- 59:51she turned me down and didn' t really seem to have any interest in
- 59:55me I felt sad and disappointed, so I walked away from her at the
- 59:59time. However, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn' t
- 1:00:05get rid of the idea that she was my girlfriend. I talked it over
- 1:00:08with Esmeralda and she told me at first that it would be best for me
- 1:00:13to forget her. After all, I didn' t even know her well
- 1:00:16and she was only guiding me by her physical appearance. She also told me
- 1:00:20that maybe when I talked a little more with her, I' d realize
- 1:00:23we didn' t have much in common. But I totally disagreed with this
- 1:00:29conclusion, which my best friend came to and I kept trying in some way.
- 1:00:36I got her Facebook account and I tried to talk to her around,
- 1:00:39but she would answer me very vaguely or very often just let me see I
- 1:00:45knew I couldn' t talk about anything by that means with her either.
- 1:00:49I felt too desperate, because something inside of me knew that if she even
- 1:00:54gave me a chance, I could be the best boyfriend in the world for
- 1:01:00her. However, I couldn' t get her to break that perception she
- 1:01:05had of me. The course of the school cycle was moving forward and she
- 1:01:10couldn' t get her to look at me no matter what she did.
- 1:01:15Quite the opposite. I also realized that I was starting to bother her,
- 1:01:19so I decided to leave her for peace although shortly after, when we were
- 1:01:23close to the final exams, my friend found something on an Internet forum.
- 1:01:30These were different kinds of rituals for moorings and sweetenings. She showed them to
- 1:01:36me, not to use them, but just as a joke. He told
- 1:01:39me he didn' t understand who could be desperate enough to fall so low
- 1:01:45and bewitch a person to love him. Although in the first instance I agreed.
- 1:01:51After reading about the sweetening, my opinion changed. Until that moment in
- 1:01:55my life I knew absolutely nothing about sweetness. I' d heard about the
- 1:02:01marre, but never about that. It turned out that, if you managed
- 1:02:07to do it right, the person in question could have positive thoughts about you
- 1:02:14and that didn' t seem entirely bad, at least in my thinking of
- 1:02:16that moment. I thought it wouldn' t be forcing anyone to love me,
- 1:02:22but getting her to open her mind a little bit to get to know
- 1:02:25me a little better. I told my friend and she almost immediately told me
- 1:02:29that it wasn' t worth doing something like that, but I was too
- 1:02:32clinging to doing it, making all kinds of excuses and trying to lighten up
- 1:02:38the fact that I would basically be bewitching a person. In the end,
- 1:02:44my arguments were valid enough for emerald, so he told me he was fine
- 1:02:49and that he would help me. We both waited until the full moon to
- 1:02:53perform that sweetening ritual and, according to us, we did everything that Internet
- 1:02:59forum did. I want us. The next day, however, absolutely nothing
- 1:03:02happened. She kept on the same attitude as usual. I was disappointed by
- 1:03:09this and my friend told me it was probably just made- up stuff.
- 1:03:15I tried to forget it. But later that same day, when I returned
- 1:03:19home, I reread those printed sheets that my friend had given me to perform
- 1:03:22the ritual and realized that, by accident, my friend had also printed those
- 1:03:28pages of tie the truth. I don' t know what happened to me,
- 1:03:35since I always knew that something like that couldn' t be right and
- 1:03:38that it wasn' t a good way to have someone by your side.
- 1:03:40However, at that time I was blinded by wanting that girl to give me
- 1:03:46only one chance by taking advantage of the fact that I had almost everything.
- 1:03:52I did that job wishing it this time with all my might. Obviously,
- 1:03:57I' m not putting what I did here. I wouldn' t want
- 1:04:00anyone to do it, but let' s just say I had to bury
- 1:04:04him in the end and when I finished I didn' t know if it
- 1:04:10had worked or not, but I hoped it would. I remember a part
- 1:04:12of me feeling very embarrassed about what I had done so much, so I
- 1:04:16decided not to tell emerald, because I thought there was a high probability that,
- 1:04:21like the sweetening, this mooring would not work either, so it wasn
- 1:04:27' t worth humiliating for something like that. But when I barely walked into
- 1:04:30the living room the next day, I noticed something. She stared at me,
- 1:04:35smiled at me and greeted me. I greeted him back and went to
- 1:04:39sit in the usual place next to my friend. I remember as soon as
- 1:04:45I sat down, Esmeralda looked at me surprised and whispered that the sweetening had
- 1:04:49worked. I returned an uncomfortable smile to her, because deep down I was
- 1:04:55perfectly aware that that was not the reason she was waving at me at the
- 1:05:00time. That same day, during the break, while waiting for my food
- 1:05:05in the school cafeteria, that girl approached me and greeted me again. I
- 1:05:11felt a little upset, but at the same time quite excited that my desires
- 1:05:15were finally coming true. I said hello and we both started talking. But,
- 1:05:21to my misfortune, I realized that, just as Esmeralda had predicted.
- 1:05:28The reality is that we didn' t have much in common. We seemed
- 1:05:31to be completely different people. To begin with, she was not interested in
- 1:05:38the subject of mythology and magic at all. She was interested in things that
- 1:05:42seemed boring to me, like football and volleyball. However, I decided to
- 1:05:48ignore all this first conversation since at last, what I had long wanted was
- 1:05:53becoming a reality and I assumed that it didn' t matter if we didn
- 1:06:00' t have the same interests, because after all, in a relationship we
- 1:06:03didn' t have to be exactly the same and we could find something that
- 1:06:10we could share. Both. We spent about a week talking until we finally
- 1:06:15became boyfriends. But it wasn' t something I asked for, because throughout
- 1:06:20that week I was really trying to find themes in common with her or even
- 1:06:26try to create something new so that we could both share, but we were
- 1:06:31totally different. Besides, that girl was very obsessed, she texted me a
- 1:06:38lot, and basically if I didn' t answer her in at least half
- 1:06:43an hour, she' d call me to ask me what she was doing.
- 1:06:45In fact, it was she who told me that we should be boyfriends
- 1:06:48and, although I wasn' t quite sure by that time, I said
- 1:06:54yes, because I thought it was something I had always wanted and to miss
- 1:07:00the opportunity would be just ridiculous. However, something within me kept telling me
- 1:07:03that was not right and the worst came as soon as our relationship was formalized.
- 1:07:10That' s when that girl became much more dependent. She wanted me
- 1:07:15to be with her all the time at school and, on top of that,
- 1:07:18she was jealous practically of any girl who was near me, even Esmeralda.
- 1:07:25He told me a number of times that I had to get away from
- 1:07:29her so that our relationship would prosper. But I wasn' t willing to
- 1:07:32do something like that because I really loved my friend very much and, besides,
- 1:07:38I didn' t think it was the right thing to do. In
- 1:07:39fact, I let him know. I told her I' d never get
- 1:07:43away from my friend. After that, she started crying and yelling at me
- 1:07:46that I was probably going to cheat on her and that kind of thing even
- 1:07:53I remember that at that moment I saw the perfect opportunity to tell her once
- 1:07:58and for all that maybe it would be better to finish if I didn'
- 1:08:01t have confidence. But as soon as I told her those things, she
- 1:08:05freaked out more and told me that I couldn' t let her really need
- 1:08:11me and that kind of thing that made me feel too uncomfortable. I almost
- 1:08:15immediately knew I couldn' t leave her because it was something I had done
- 1:08:19and if I did, she could do something very bad like try her life.
- 1:08:25So I decided to tell her I was okay, that I wasn'
- 1:08:29t going to leave her, but that we' d have to put some
- 1:08:33limits on our relationship so she could be healthier. Although at first she accepted
- 1:08:38everything I was saying, I could quickly deduce that the only reason she was
- 1:08:43accepting all that was for me not to leave her. And after a few
- 1:08:47days, she started to auto invite herself to any exit she had with my
- 1:08:53friend. If Esmeralda and I went out, she just happened to show up
- 1:08:58at that place. To this day. I don' t know how.
- 1:09:00She always knew where we were going to be. When it came time to
- 1:09:05start seeing him from college. She was only sure of one thing and it
- 1:09:11was that she wanted to go to the same university as I did At that
- 1:09:16time I wanted to study computer science at the university and although I was very
- 1:09:21aware that she was not interested in any of the careers offered by the university
- 1:09:26I was applying to, she also applied and not only that, but she
- 1:09:31decided to enroll in the exact same career as me. He reminded me many
- 1:09:36times that it would be great if we stayed in the same room, had
- 1:09:42the same classes and shared absolutely everything together until we graduated this whole situation seriously.
- 1:09:48I was getting too uncomfortable, but because of my young age and also
- 1:09:54the feeling of guilt that I felt for having made that tie with her,
- 1:09:59it made me unable to leave her For a moment I thought that, perhaps
- 1:10:02by fate randoms it was either her or maybe me, we would not pass
- 1:10:10the university exam and we would have to go to different cities. That relationship
- 1:10:13would gradually dissipate. But to my misfortune, I stayed at the same university
- 1:10:17as her and while for her, all that was a very happy event.
- 1:10:23It was a horrible thing for me. My best friend also stayed at the
- 1:10:27same university, but she was studying language and literature. So, even though
- 1:10:31we were still seeing each other because of the difference in classes and jobs,
- 1:10:38we were seeing each other less and less, basically I was totally stuck with
- 1:10:45my high school girlfriend as hard as I was trying. I couldn' t
- 1:10:47get used to that dependent relationship. She wanted to know all the time where
- 1:10:51she was or who she was with. She was extremely obsessed. I even
- 1:10:57remember that I had installed something on my phone so that all the messages that
- 1:11:01I received would also reach yours. Over the months, this whole situation became
- 1:11:05totally unsustainable. So, one day armed with enough courage, I told her
- 1:11:14that I no longer wanted to be her boyfriend and, as expected, she
- 1:11:17started crying and telling me that I couldn' t let her love me and
- 1:11:21all that kind of stuff anyone could ever say. I was just telling her
- 1:11:27to leave me alone and she didn' t want to be her boyfriend anymore.
- 1:11:30Finally, I decided to go away so that I would not get any
- 1:11:36more remorse and decided to go back to her. I thought at that moment
- 1:11:40that everything had already been solved and that I would have no problem. I
- 1:11:45thought maybe over time, not being together, that mooring would just disappear,
- 1:11:49but I couldn' t be more wrong. And after that day, she
- 1:11:54started harassing me in an increasingly disturbing way. At first I only filled my
- 1:12:01tray with all sorts of messages on any social network, whether it was Facebook,
- 1:12:06Instagram, Whatsapp and even sent me several emails and no matter how many
- 1:12:13times she blocked it. They always created new accounts to keep sending messages,
- 1:12:18telling me that I had made a big mistake, that we were meant to
- 1:12:24be together and that I would not rest until we were happy again. However,
- 1:12:29I always ignored all these messages, erasing them almost immediately and many times
- 1:12:34without opening them. But this was not enough to stop her and soon she
- 1:12:40began to be physical. Different cards slipped under my door and my mailbox filled
- 1:12:45only with letters from her begging for a second chance telling me that I was
- 1:12:51going to change and many other things. I remember almost all the guys in
- 1:12:58my apartment, I was happy to go on a date and they told me
- 1:13:01not lucky, that it was because I had such a nice girl begging.
- 1:13:04But I didn' t feel lucky at all. I felt too lonely,
- 1:13:09and especially because very soon those letters became much more threatening, telling me that
- 1:13:15I had seen myself talk to other girls and that if I thought of becoming
- 1:13:18her boyfriend, then she would hurt them and then hurt me. All of
- 1:13:24this was too serious and I tried to report it, but just because I
- 1:13:29was a boy, no one gave importance to my case by telling me that
- 1:13:34there was no problem and that she probably wasn' t serious about it.
- 1:13:39Nobody did anything. I was so distressed that I asked Esmeraldas if we could
- 1:13:45talk that I would really like to talk to her. So my friend made
- 1:13:48the time and we agreed to meet in a part of the school to talk
- 1:13:53and once there I vented with her. I told him absolutely everything, from
- 1:13:59the moment I had made that mooring to everything that had been going on with
- 1:14:03my ex- girlfriend until that day. My friend didn' t know very
- 1:14:08well how to comfort me, but in an attempt to give me her support,
- 1:14:12she hugged me. She told me she was fine and that, while
- 1:14:14she had made a mistake, we just had to find a way to break
- 1:14:18it so that she would stop seeing me as a necessity. After that we
- 1:14:24said goodbye and each of us went away by his side although a couple of
- 1:14:28hours later, when I was already home, my phone rang by that time
- 1:14:32I had already gotten used to checking who the person was calling me and if
- 1:14:38it was an unknown number. I definitely didn' t answer anymore, as
- 1:14:44my ex- girlfriend used different types of phones to keep calling, but at
- 1:14:48that point, when I checked the number, I realized it was emerald,
- 1:14:53so, without thinking much, I answered thinking that maybe I had found something
- 1:14:58related to the moorings and like those. However, although the person on the
- 1:15:02other side, if he sounded like my friend, I couldn' t help
- 1:15:08but notice that he sounded a little different, I couldn' t identify what
- 1:15:11he was. But seriously, it was like he was worried about something.
- 1:15:14I still asked her what she wanted and she told me that, please,
- 1:15:16I had to go with her to her house. I found it a little
- 1:15:21strange, but she insisted and told me I had to go. Finally,
- 1:15:26I went over and headed home. Once there, what I found was absolutely
- 1:15:31horrible. My friend rented a room on the roof of a house, so
- 1:15:36I didn' t have Romies, although on the roof there were three more
- 1:15:41rooms. When I came in, there was her and my ex- girlfriend,
- 1:15:45and not only that, but my ex- girlfriend had her threatened with
- 1:15:48a gun. He was totally out of his mind. She told us that
- 1:15:54she knew that the two of us had something and that we had always been
- 1:15:58making fun of her, although that could not be possible, because Esmeralda did
- 1:16:01not like the boys and she knew it, despite our attempts to explain it
- 1:16:09to her she did not understand it and kept pushing for us to be together
- 1:16:13again. The situation was so tense that I was about to say yes,
- 1:16:15but at that time the police arrived, as someone who rented the room across
- 1:16:20the street had seen the whole scene from his window and had called her.
- 1:16:26Luckily, the situation didn' t get older and although I thought it would
- 1:16:30all be solved there, to my surprise, a couple of days later they
- 1:16:35released it without any kind of consequence. Despite wanting to file complaints this time
- 1:16:41legally, no one listened to me, so I only had to find a
- 1:16:45way to break that mooring and after a long search on the Internet, we
- 1:16:49found that the most efficient way was to find the thing I had buried and
- 1:16:55destroy it. On the first weekend I could, along with my friend,
- 1:17:00we went to where I had buried that and set out to dig up the
- 1:17:06thing I had buried to do the mooring. However, once there I realized
- 1:17:12that I was going to do something much more difficult than I thought, for
- 1:17:15I had buried it in a wasteland near my house, but the owners of
- 1:17:19that land had already sold sections of it and had already built a house right
- 1:17:24where I remembered burying it. And, therefore, that thing was beneath the
- 1:17:31concrete foundations of that dwelling, so it was simply impossible for me to dig
- 1:17:35it up. In my desperation, we even tried to look around, but
- 1:17:44we couldn' t find him and disappointed, we returned soon. My girlfriend
- 1:17:48stalked me again and after a couple of weeks, dealing with it, we
- 1:17:54decided to go with sorcerers and shamans to try to undo it. Most looked
- 1:17:58at me with truth in or, finding it repugnant to have forced someone to
- 1:18:02love me that way. However, most wanted to help me, although to
- 1:18:09date we have failed to do anything. I know that I am experiencing the
- 1:18:13consequences to this day, because none of them have managed to break that tie
- 1:18:17I made, as everyone has told me that the only way to do this
- 1:18:21is by digging up that amulet I made. But it' s impossible for
- 1:18:25me right now. Stories written and adapted by Lisa Hernández
