- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven sixty three through seven sixty five,
- 0:16Speaker 1: The Truth behind the Disappearance, Sanji gets a startling invitation
- 0:21Speaker 1: to My Buds, Sanji's farewell note, and Let's go and
- 0:26Speaker 1: meet Mastercat Viper. In these episodes, we find out that
- 0:33Speaker 1: Sony has some family history that he hasn't shared with
- 0:37Speaker 1: the crew. Despite saying I never meant to keep any secrets,
- 0:42Speaker 1: he definitely has kept a hell of a secret. Also,
- 0:47Speaker 1: half of one of these episodes is literally Brooks singing
- 0:51Speaker 1: a song that has almost only one line to it.
- 0:56Speaker 1: This is filler that I can get behind. Welcome to
- 1:00Speaker 1: spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning this episode.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I really like I'm so back and forth on this arc, guys.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I don't know how I'm feeling about it, because it
- 1:37Speaker 1: just feels like things are a little bit all over
- 1:39Speaker 1: the place. You know, we had these weird people with
- 1:44Speaker 1: sheep's head that swooped in, and then we have the
- 1:49Speaker 1: minks that are here and they got targeted for whatever reason.
- 1:53Speaker 1: For some reason, these people thought that they were harboring
- 1:55Speaker 1: a samurai, and now we've got Big Mom's pirates coming
- 2:00Speaker 1: into the mix and apparently having like an offer you
- 2:04Speaker 1: can't refuse. For Soanji and I, I've just not really
- 2:12Speaker 1: gotten a good enough grip on everything to decide how
- 2:14Speaker 1: I feel about the arc. Yet overall, so I am
- 2:19Speaker 1: curious as things go forward, because it feels like, by
- 2:22Speaker 1: the end of this group of episodes, our friends are
- 2:25Speaker 1: going to go out and pursue Soanji and I had expected,
- 2:28Speaker 1: whatever the arc was, for us to remain here with
- 2:31Speaker 1: the Minx for a while, and it looks like maybe
- 2:35Speaker 1: that's not what we're gonna do. So that's surprising, Seraphim says,
- 2:41Speaker 1: But it's such a great song and it's not filler.
- 2:43Speaker 1: It's something Brooks, Japanese Va and his wife wrote about
- 2:47Speaker 1: their in real life cat named Neiko Mamushi Cat Viper,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and when Oda heard it, he loved it so much
- 2:54Speaker 1: he asked Provision to put Neko Mamushi in the story
- 2:57Speaker 1: and have Brooks sing the song about him. I adore
- 3:03Speaker 1: the fact that a pet song made its way into
- 3:07Speaker 1: the show. I was about to say, we all do this,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and I know that's actually not true. Many people do this,
- 3:14Speaker 1: but not everybody, because I don't think I have ever
- 3:16Speaker 1: heard Marshall sing to the animals. He talks to them
- 3:21Speaker 1: and he has ongoing little bits with them. But I'm
- 3:25Speaker 1: the one that makes up songs. Usually I will sing
- 3:29Speaker 1: pet related lyrics along with a familiar tune, for example,
- 3:35Speaker 1: to the tune of Spider Man. I will sing Pip
- 3:37Speaker 1: and Dog, Pip and Dog does whatever Pip and Dog does.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Does he fly? No, he can't, but he'll run around
- 3:47Speaker 1: and chase ants, look out, you know, like that kind
- 3:49Speaker 1: of thing. And my mom used to actually come up
- 3:54Speaker 1: with original melodies, which I think is like a step beyond,
- 3:58Speaker 1: so that being put into this is delightful. And listen,
- 4:01Speaker 1: I would like to say, Sarah, m it is filler. Absolutely,
- 4:05Speaker 1: it's filler. It's fine though, because I prefer this to
- 4:10Speaker 1: the slow pan from face to face with everybody just
- 4:12Speaker 1: making a weird back of their throat sound, so you know,
- 4:17Speaker 1: like it's I have no problem with it. So okay.
- 4:22Speaker 1: The first of these three episodes were picking up right
- 4:25Speaker 1: where we had left off after uh Peckham getting shot,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and Peckham is not dead, as we find out later.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Somebody like comes to collect him and help him out,
- 4:37Speaker 1: but at the moment he has just been like abandoned
- 4:41Speaker 1: where he lays, and uh, it turns out that Capone
- 4:46Speaker 1: wants to have a conversation with Sanji. It's also funny because,
- 4:53Speaker 1: like I keep forgetting, I know that we have actually
- 4:59Speaker 1: seen Pone's ability once before. That was you know a
- 5:09Speaker 1: a I think back on the island with all the bubbles,
- 5:12Speaker 1: maybe was when we first saw the fact that he
- 5:16Speaker 1: like is a building somehow that people can shrink down
- 5:20Speaker 1: and fit inside, and so he carries around his own
- 5:24Speaker 1: private army. But I definitely had forgotten. And even though
- 5:29Speaker 1: I saw that these dudes would step out from like
- 5:33Speaker 1: his gut, I think that I assumed that the way
- 5:38Speaker 1: that the castle Castle Fruit worked was that he like
- 5:44Speaker 1: basically when he transformed into this castle, he also created
- 5:50Speaker 1: these henchmen. I didn't realize that people could go in
- 5:56Speaker 1: there and that he himself can be inside his own
- 6:04Speaker 1: castle body to meet with them as if they are
- 6:09Speaker 1: all in a regular building together. This ability is crazy.
- 6:17Speaker 1: This is I think at like top five weirdest powers
- 6:24Speaker 1: that we have seen on this show, and there are
- 6:26Speaker 1: some weird fucking powers on this show. So I think
- 6:29Speaker 1: that's really saying something. And a part of me is
- 6:33Speaker 1: like very into this because it makes me feel like
- 6:39Speaker 1: traveling would be so easy. You could just make this
- 6:42Speaker 1: place have everything you need, and then you would never
- 6:47Speaker 1: have to pack and you would always have your own
- 6:51Speaker 1: very comfortable space with you at any time, and thus
- 6:56Speaker 1: you could stay in a lovely hotel if you wanted.
- 6:58Speaker 1: But if there's a place where you wind up and
- 7:01Speaker 1: there's nowhere to go, you can just open your gut
- 7:04Speaker 1: up and go sleep in your own bed. Or you
- 7:07Speaker 1: could stay in the lovely hotel, but oh no, you
- 7:09Speaker 1: forgot your flip flops and then you just reach in
- 7:12Speaker 1: there and grab them. Like how much fits in here?
- 7:15Speaker 1: How much stuff? How many people? What are the restrictions?
- 7:19Speaker 1: I this is really speaking to the practical side of
- 7:24Speaker 1: me in a way that the powers usually don't, because
- 7:28Speaker 1: a lot of them have like, you know, weird sort
- 7:31Speaker 1: of side effects that are very good for battle. They're
- 7:35Speaker 1: good for combat, but they're not something that I would
- 7:37Speaker 1: want to deal with, you know. But this is the
- 7:40Speaker 1: first power that I'm genuinely like, Ooh, I might pick
- 7:46Speaker 1: this one if I had a list of them, you know,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I just might Seraphim says, you would also be the
- 7:54Speaker 1: ultimate travel agent, get a massive group together and only
- 7:57Speaker 1: have to pay from one plane ticket. Oh my god,
- 8:00Speaker 1: that's such a good idea, Sara fem I didn't even
- 8:03Speaker 1: think of that, because yeah, you can just like bring
- 8:05Speaker 1: people with you, and oh yeah, I would be I
- 8:11Speaker 1: would be like hiring myself out for people's destination weddings.
- 8:18Speaker 1: So like pay for my plane ticket and you know,
- 8:21Speaker 1: my food and whatever, and I'll bring your whole family
- 8:26Speaker 1: and all I require is a tiny compensation of like
- 8:30Speaker 1: five grand, and I'll do it. I'll bring everybody and
- 8:33Speaker 1: you don't even have to worry about it. I wonder how,
- 8:36Speaker 1: like how much can I divide down the room inside,
- 8:43Speaker 1: because if I could potentially provide them housing as well,
- 8:46Speaker 1: you know, if I could be the hotel so they
- 8:49Speaker 1: don't have to pay for the rooms where they're staying.
- 8:53Speaker 1: It all depends how this power works and whether or
- 8:56Speaker 1: not it matters if you fall asleep, because you know,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I don't know how that works. But yeah, there's a lot,
- 9:04Speaker 1: a lot of possibility with this that I think is
- 9:07Speaker 1: really interesting. So yeah, Capone says to Sanji, I need
- 9:16Speaker 1: you to come inside with me. And talk because this
- 9:21Speaker 1: dude he's gone soft, he's got feelings and he's got
- 9:26Speaker 1: a rap she he's no good to me. Now, I'll
- 9:29Speaker 1: finish the job. And he gets this like expression when
- 9:34Speaker 1: he says I'll finish the job where it clearly is
- 9:39Speaker 1: meant to be that he's threatening Soanjy. But when we
- 9:43Speaker 1: actually hear what he is intending to do, and Sonji
- 9:48Speaker 1: points out later, I am not meant to be killed,
- 9:52Speaker 1: like you are supposed to treat me with respect and
- 9:55Speaker 1: keep me alive and you can't even cuff me. This
- 9:59Speaker 1: is definitely like for show, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:04Speaker 1: But yeah, we get the first bit with all these
- 10:06Speaker 1: guys like shooting out of his abdomen and the weird
- 10:12Speaker 1: force field that makes them like turn to their regular
- 10:15Speaker 1: size once they cross it, and the way that these
- 10:18Speaker 1: dudes all come shooting out like birds like headfirst out
- 10:23Speaker 1: of his stomach and gather around them. It really is
- 10:28Speaker 1: quite an impressive skill. There are there are just so
- 10:34Speaker 1: many applications for this, you know. So let's see, I'm
- 10:40Speaker 1: trying to jump ahead here, and I'm trying to simultaneou
- 10:43Speaker 1: simultaneously jump ahead but not fuck up crunchy roll so
- 10:48Speaker 1: that it does the thing that it did last time,
- 10:50Speaker 1: which is uh cause all of the the animation to
- 10:57Speaker 1: be invisible. So at this point, you know, Brooke and
- 11:03Speaker 1: Sanji are ready to fight, but Vito, who is off
- 11:09Speaker 1: to the side and looks and sounds like a combination
- 11:15Speaker 1: of wet hair caribou and Caesar clown Veto, comes out
- 11:20Speaker 1: and he has a hold of both Chopper and Nami,
- 11:24Speaker 1: who pursued Soanji and Brooke because they were really curious
- 11:30Speaker 1: about what was going on. You know, there had been
- 11:32Speaker 1: a good amount of time that passed. Meanwhile, Caesar is
- 11:36Speaker 1: hiding up in the trees, but Capone knows very well
- 11:41Speaker 1: that he is up there, and he directs his guys
- 11:44Speaker 1: to like point their guns upward. But Caesar is like
- 11:47Speaker 1: trying to stay up there, and even though they know
- 11:50Speaker 1: he's there, I think he is hoping they're just bluffing.
- 11:55Speaker 1: And then Capone threatens to use there see prism stone
- 12:02Speaker 1: ammo on him, which finally gets him out of the
- 12:06Speaker 1: tree until he is informed, oh, we don't actually have
- 12:10Speaker 1: any of that, but we do have a spear that
- 12:14Speaker 1: that works exactly the same way. And as Caesar is
- 12:21Speaker 1: poked with this spear, He says, I can feel my
- 12:26Speaker 1: body weakening by the second. I am going to place
- 12:33Speaker 1: a bet that Caesar Clown is reacting to a placebo
- 12:42Speaker 1: and that there is no sea prism stone function on
- 12:45Speaker 1: the spear that he is being poked with. I would
- 12:50Speaker 1: be willing to bet many things that this isn't at
- 12:54Speaker 1: all a thing, and that he is just so suggestible
- 12:59Speaker 1: and easy to intimidate that it's all you have to
- 13:05Speaker 1: do is say a thing does something, and he doesn't
- 13:07Speaker 1: even like check. So I just want to go on
- 13:10Speaker 1: the record as saying that Caesar Clown is a chump
- 13:14Speaker 1: and a sucker. So finally Capone is like, all right, well,
- 13:21Speaker 1: you guys are gonna have to join me because you
- 13:23Speaker 1: are completely surrounded. There is no way of fighting out
- 13:27Speaker 1: of this one, and I, you know, we have to
- 13:31Speaker 1: have this conversation. So the way that this is filmed,
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know he's just said this, and then we jump
- 13:43Speaker 1: back over to Lufy and company, everybody who is with
- 13:48Speaker 1: him other than Sangy obviously, and I had a moment
- 13:52Speaker 1: of being so confused because again, this is n me
- 13:57Speaker 1: explaining to Lufy the story of what happened to Sonjy,
- 14:01Speaker 1: but I keep forgetting that's what's going on. So when
- 14:04Speaker 1: we jump back to Nami and she's like in the
- 14:06Speaker 1: exact same outfit and everything, and it just kind of
- 14:10Speaker 1: feels like, all of a sudden, the same Nami is
- 14:13Speaker 1: in a different place. This is more than once. Now,
- 14:17Speaker 1: you guys. I don't know whether it would be helpful
- 14:21Speaker 1: if there was like a voiceover or if I'm just
- 14:24Speaker 1: a real Dodo bird or what, but there is. This
- 14:27Speaker 1: is the first time I've had a moment of like, wait,
- 14:29Speaker 1: what's going on? So, oh my god. I love it
- 14:34Speaker 1: when they're talking about how do we get into this
- 14:38Speaker 1: guy's castle if he doesn't want us in there? And
- 14:44Speaker 1: we have Robin, who is like lit in such a
- 14:48Speaker 1: way that it's as if there's a flashlight under her face,
- 14:52Speaker 1: the way that you do when you're like camping and
- 14:55Speaker 1: telling a scary story. And she says, I imagine you
- 14:58Speaker 1: would have to slice through his abdomen. And these moments
- 15:04Speaker 1: are when I get what's supposed to be happening with Robin.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Every now and then with the translation, it really works
- 15:12Speaker 1: and with a delivery of the voice actress, and I
- 15:16Speaker 1: always appreciate it when it does sort of work, but yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: both Oosap and Frankie are like, hey, enough of the
- 15:22Speaker 1: body horror, buddy, let's not do that. So Capone has
- 15:27Speaker 1: all of them shackled up, and when they go inside,
- 15:31Speaker 1: it's this weird sort of haul that has this long
- 15:36Speaker 1: table and all of this like decor on the wall.
- 15:40Speaker 1: He's got like shields and paintings and swords hanging and
- 15:46Speaker 1: YadA YadA. And again I'm just really curious, like, does
- 15:50Speaker 1: the fruit just make the place look the way it
- 15:54Speaker 1: looks according to sort of your personality or is it
- 15:59Speaker 1: that he gets to like morph himself and it looks
- 16:04Speaker 1: different every time he opens up for anybody. Because the
- 16:07Speaker 1: way that it's set up right now is particularly good
- 16:10Speaker 1: for having a guest. You've got this long table, like
- 16:15Speaker 1: a chandelier overhead, glasses of wine and a candelabra on
- 16:20Speaker 1: the table, but it doesn't feel like this would be
- 16:24Speaker 1: super practical for holding all of your guys in. So
- 16:28Speaker 1: maybe he can change what the inside of himself looks like.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I guess we'll see. So he delivers an invitation. Your
- 16:39Speaker 1: presence is requested at Mama's tea party, and I have
- 16:45Speaker 1: to admit, guys that she wants to throw a tea party,
- 16:49Speaker 1: has me once again kind of on the fence regarding
- 16:53Speaker 1: whose ship I would want to pick, because I don't
- 16:58Speaker 1: know how many people listening are aware of this, but
- 17:00Speaker 1: your girl is a complete and total sucker for tea parties,
- 17:07Speaker 1: and I am hoping that there's like some real animation
- 17:11Speaker 1: of a serious tea party later on. We have seen
- 17:15Speaker 1: a little preview of what that could look like on
- 17:18Speaker 1: the interstitials of Brooks, because it's like a table with
- 17:24Speaker 1: like a teapot and a pastry and his violin I
- 17:28Speaker 1: think are all on there. So I've mentioned before how
- 17:31Speaker 1: much I enjoy that this being part of the thing.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Like Alvida's ship has a much sleeker design and it's
- 17:40Speaker 1: just a bit more. It speaks to me in terms
- 17:45Speaker 1: of its sophistication. But Big Mom is sort of doing everything,
- 17:55Speaker 1: and there's a part of me that respects that. Even
- 17:57Speaker 1: though I know it's kind of too much, I still
- 18:02Speaker 1: I want, almost always more than I can really have
- 18:06Speaker 1: of anything at any time you name it, and I
- 18:11Speaker 1: probably want more than I'm going to be able to
- 18:13Speaker 1: make happen. Yeah, it's just speaking to me, so anyway,
- 18:19Speaker 1: he gives Sonji this invite, and Sonji is like, why
- 18:24Speaker 1: the fuck would I want to go there? Why would
- 18:27Speaker 1: I want to sip tea with her? And he's like, oh,
- 18:31Speaker 1: it's not just a tea party, it's also a wedding.
- 18:37Speaker 1: The groom to be is the third son of the
- 18:42Speaker 1: vin smokes and he holds it up and we get
- 18:46Speaker 1: in the subtitles because I'm doing the dub that it
- 18:50Speaker 1: says Sonjy. Then the Lucky Dame is the thirty fifth
- 18:54Speaker 1: daughter of the Charlotte family. Pudding. Have we met or
- 19:02Speaker 1: seen Pudding? I don't like. This name is ringing a bell,
- 19:09Speaker 1: and I can't remember if it's actually like a legit
- 19:13Speaker 1: bell because of this show, or if it's making me
- 19:16Speaker 1: think of something else. But of course, in the background
- 19:20Speaker 1: we have Brooke and Nami and Chopp are all freaking
- 19:23Speaker 1: out because this like they didn't know Sanji's family name,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and they of course are hearing that he is supposed
- 19:34Speaker 1: to be getting married now and they don't know how
- 19:36Speaker 1: he is going to react. I'm going to go ahead
- 19:40Speaker 1: and guess that everybody related to Big Mom's names are
- 19:47Speaker 1: some sort of like dessert name. I can't tell you
- 19:52Speaker 1: enough how much I love that naming convention. I love
- 19:55Speaker 1: it so much, like you could go in a lot
- 19:58Speaker 1: of directions with it, you know, have different whole types
- 20:02Speaker 1: of dessert. Pudding is a really interesting choice. Most people
- 20:05Speaker 1: aren't going to think of putting as like an option,
- 20:09Speaker 1: even because it's not a super popular dessert, but it
- 20:12Speaker 1: is like a pet name. Hey, puddin, you know, like
- 20:16Speaker 1: that's the thing that people have said, so it we're
- 20:19Speaker 1: somewhat well on that level. My concern is that what
- 20:25Speaker 1: we're doing is actually a fat joke, So we're gonna
- 20:30Speaker 1: have to see. But you know, big Mom is quite
- 20:33Speaker 1: literally very big in every sense. It's not just that
- 20:37Speaker 1: she's fat, She's also just like a large giant. And
- 20:41Speaker 1: I'm wondering, is it gonna be that like she's named
- 20:44Speaker 1: puddin because she's fat, Because that's certainly that's not out
- 20:50Speaker 1: of the realm of possibility for the show's track record.
- 20:55Speaker 1: So yeah, we'll have to see. Oh my god, Florian says,
- 20:59Speaker 1: if there is a teapar later on, do we need
- 21:01Speaker 1: to give you just one episode for that podcast to
- 21:03Speaker 1: talk about it? You don't have to go that far,
- 21:05Speaker 1: but I do reserve the right to talk about it
- 21:07Speaker 1: more than anybody really wants to hear. Just sorry, but
- 21:12Speaker 1: it's just a thing, you guys. I don't know what
- 21:15Speaker 1: it is. I've loved tea parties ever since I was
- 21:18Speaker 1: very little. There's a picture of me and I'm like
- 21:20Speaker 1: maybe six, and it's in my backyard and I'm gathered
- 21:24Speaker 1: around this big table made out of a tree stump
- 21:28Speaker 1: in my grandmother's yard, and I'm in this little flowered
- 21:32Speaker 1: bathing suit with my raggedy and dol and a teddy
- 21:36Speaker 1: bear and a white and blue like willow ware tea set.
- 21:41Speaker 1: It's the most on point like tea kid's kid with
- 21:48Speaker 1: her toy's tea party photo you can possibly imagine. And
- 21:54Speaker 1: every time I see that photo, I am just like
- 21:56Speaker 1: I was who I am from the beginning. Like sometimes
- 22:01Speaker 1: you see things about yourself and you're like, ah, who
- 22:03Speaker 1: would have thought I'd wind up here? And then there
- 22:06Speaker 1: are things that you see and you're just like, Wow,
- 22:08Speaker 1: nothing about me has changed. I am the most predictable
- 22:14Speaker 1: person alive, and uh, honestly, I'm not even mean. I'm
- 22:19Speaker 1: not even mad about it. Like I I there are
- 22:24Speaker 1: some parts of myself that I take comfort in. So
- 22:29Speaker 1: that's all I'll say about that. So all right, this
- 22:35Speaker 1: uh invite obviously has really thrown Sanjy for a loop.
- 22:41Speaker 1: He looks completely shocked. It's a combo of like him
- 22:46Speaker 1: being basically married off without his consent, but also that
- 22:53Speaker 1: who he is has just been outed to his friends
- 22:56Speaker 1: like this, you know, which, Uh, the the fact that
- 23:01Speaker 1: it took this long to catch up with him is
- 23:03Speaker 1: really the only surprise that he was able to get
- 23:07Speaker 1: away with nobody knowing who he was for this long.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I mean it makes sense in a way because we
- 23:13Speaker 1: saw how young he was when he was on the ship,
- 23:18Speaker 1: and I was wondering even then, like who the hell
- 23:23Speaker 1: are this kid's parents? And now maybe it makes sense
- 23:27Speaker 1: that nobody knows who he is because or that people
- 23:31Speaker 1: haven't been able to put together who he is because
- 23:33Speaker 1: he has been like under the radar enough and maybe
- 23:39Speaker 1: isn't familiar looking anymore. You know, when somebody disappeared as
- 23:43Speaker 1: a kid, you have to like kind of there's you know, today,
- 23:51Speaker 1: for example, a lot of modern technology that gets used
- 23:55Speaker 1: in aging up the photos of people who went missing
- 23:58Speaker 1: when they were kids to say what they would look
- 24:00Speaker 1: like now, et cetera, et cetera, And sometimes people just
- 24:03Speaker 1: do not look the way that you would have expected
- 24:07Speaker 1: from when they were kids. You know, it doesn't always
- 24:11Speaker 1: work out how you would expect, so anyway, I there
- 24:17Speaker 1: was a part of me that was very like, how
- 24:21Speaker 1: is this possible? But then the more I thought about it,
- 24:24Speaker 1: I was like, I guess I can sort of see
- 24:27Speaker 1: this actually, And as we find out later, this is
- 24:32Speaker 1: why it said specifically on his bounty that he had
- 24:38Speaker 1: to be brought in alive. Only everybody else was dead
- 24:43Speaker 1: or alive except for him, And I like think that
- 24:50Speaker 1: this is delightful, both because we're getting a more history
- 24:55Speaker 1: of him, which you guys know I want. We are
- 24:59Speaker 1: also the thing with it being a wedding. Now, this
- 25:04Speaker 1: is my concern you guys about it being a fat joke,
- 25:08Speaker 1: because it would if she were at all attractive, there
- 25:13Speaker 1: would be no fight, right, Sanji is a little bitch,
- 25:21Speaker 1: and if there is a woman involved who is attractive
- 25:25Speaker 1: in any way, I think he will roll over and
- 25:29Speaker 1: marry her, no questions asked, no problem, no matter what
- 25:32Speaker 1: the deal is. Really, maybe I'm wrong, Like I don't
- 25:39Speaker 1: know how much he is one of those like I
- 25:41Speaker 1: love women, but I have to be a bachelor. I
- 25:43Speaker 1: can't be tied down. You know, we've never really seen
- 25:46Speaker 1: that from him. He really does appear to be like
- 25:49Speaker 1: a hopeless romantic in a way, even though he's a
- 25:51Speaker 1: massive horn dog. So I am willing to say I
- 25:56Speaker 1: think he would be fine with getting married. But if
- 25:59Speaker 1: we need this to be a I if we need
- 26:04Speaker 1: this to be a fight where he is determined not
- 26:09Speaker 1: to marry, I think it has to be that the
- 26:13Speaker 1: woman is objectionable in some way. And one of our
- 26:17Speaker 1: favorite go to means of making a woman out of
- 26:21Speaker 1: the question is to make her fat. So just sharing
- 26:27Speaker 1: my concerns on that, Oh, Saraphim says, So keep in
- 26:33Speaker 1: mind this is also happening right after they finally got
- 26:36Speaker 1: an actual picture of him for his wanted poster. I
- 26:40Speaker 1: didn't even think of that, but you're right, sarahm was
- 26:43Speaker 1: like it was being circulated, this weird drawing of him.
- 26:46Speaker 1: So even if they were, like, even if they knew
- 26:51Speaker 1: what he looked like, it wouldn't have mattered then because
- 26:54Speaker 1: it was an inaccurate image. But now they're finally working
- 26:59Speaker 1: with something is correct, So it's gonna be like the
- 27:03Speaker 1: first time that they'd have an opportunity to track him down. Interesting. Okay, Well,
- 27:12Speaker 1: I'm curious to see what this where this goes. But yeah,
- 27:18Speaker 1: so it takes a while for everybody to calm down
- 27:23Speaker 1: from getting this information dropped. And I already mentioned Sanji
- 27:28Speaker 1: just being shocked, and we actually have the cigarette dropping
- 27:31Speaker 1: out of his mouth. I don't know if we've ever
- 27:35Speaker 1: seen that before. I may be wrong, but the cigarette
- 27:39Speaker 1: dropping out of his mouth is a pretty big deal
- 27:42Speaker 1: in my opinion. I would love to see the complete
- 27:47Speaker 1: translation of that invitation, because we get to see the
- 27:51Speaker 1: whole thing, but it's all in characters that I don't know,
- 27:54Speaker 1: so we only get whatever the subtitles from the episode
- 28:00Speaker 1: feel like showing me, Oh my god. So yeah, his
- 28:05Speaker 1: cigarette that he drops lights a small fire that has
- 28:08Speaker 1: to get put out, And meanwhile everybody is like, are
- 28:13Speaker 1: you really getting married? Sonji? Like what are you even
- 28:15Speaker 1: gonna do? And Sanji is like, I don't get is
- 28:19Speaker 1: this a joke? What's happening? And Capone says, you're the
- 28:25Speaker 1: Vince Smoke? Why should I fucking know? And Brooke knows
- 28:30Speaker 1: the name. He says something about being a Vince Smoke
- 28:33Speaker 1: being like bone chilling, and Nammy thinks to herself back
- 28:40Speaker 1: at mont blancs we found that picture book called Nolan
- 28:43Speaker 1: the Liar, and we flashed back to her opening it
- 28:49Speaker 1: and uh, I'm trying to find Oh my god, I
- 28:52Speaker 1: forgot that. Uh who's up? Says I share like the
- 28:54Speaker 1: title because he's a liar, but yeah, she says it
- 28:57Speaker 1: says here the book was originally published in the North
- 29:00Speaker 1: Blue Have you heard of it? And he says, yeah,
- 29:02Speaker 1: I was born in the North Blue territory. I'm certain
- 29:05Speaker 1: I must have told you guys that, which both of
- 29:09Speaker 1: them seemed to be like, I don't remember you saying that,
- 29:14Speaker 1: and he says, yeah, well I grew up in the
- 29:17Speaker 1: East Blue, But what's the difference? And Nami says, I
- 29:21Speaker 1: remember feeling strange when he told us that, and is
- 29:26Speaker 1: just realizing, like, basically, I never asked that many questions,
- 29:33Speaker 1: and Brooke is like, are you certain that's correct, because
- 29:38Speaker 1: if so, that's a really big deal. And then we
- 29:42Speaker 1: get the reminder of exactly how this world is set up.
- 29:48Speaker 1: The Grand Line, the sea route that stretches around the world,
- 29:51Speaker 1: runs perpendicular to the Red Line, delineating it into four quadrants.
- 29:57Speaker 1: The four seas are the East Blue, the West Blue,
- 30:00Speaker 1: and the South Blue. And uh oh and the North Blue. Duh,
- 30:07Speaker 1: if you want to travel from the North Blue to
- 30:09Speaker 1: the East Blue, you'd have to cross the red line.
- 30:13Speaker 1: And Chopper is like, wait, is that hard? And Brooke
- 30:17Speaker 1: is like, yeah, it is a big feat actually, and
- 30:22Speaker 1: he was just a kid, so how did that even happen?
- 30:28Speaker 1: So yeah, you know, I had asked at the time,
- 30:35Speaker 1: where the hell did this little kid come from? Because
- 30:37Speaker 1: I thought we were going to find out, Like I
- 30:40Speaker 1: can't remember if his parents were on board the first
- 30:44Speaker 1: ship and you know, they wound up getting boarded and
- 30:50Speaker 1: he gets adopted by the the pirate that takes him,
- 30:56Speaker 1: or if he was alone on that ship working in
- 31:00Speaker 1: the kitchen and his parents weren't there. I honestly don't
- 31:05Speaker 1: recall because I feel like his parents weren't there, and
- 31:13Speaker 1: that was part of what my hang up was, was
- 31:15Speaker 1: just where is he from? Because he doesn't seem to
- 31:18Speaker 1: belong to anybody, so maybe he just fucking decided to
- 31:22Speaker 1: run away on the high seas on his own from
- 31:26Speaker 1: a kid and just never Like usually, this sort of
- 31:33Speaker 1: story is quickly followed up by and the child realized
- 31:37Speaker 1: that it's very hard that you will miss your parents
- 31:41Speaker 1: and that you don't have any money, and he turned
- 31:44Speaker 1: around and he went home. But that Sonji never did
- 31:48Speaker 1: that part, which would be something Seraphim says, I will say,
- 31:54Speaker 1: we never saw or heard of any parents on the ship. Okay,
- 31:57Speaker 1: that's what I thought. And zeph was one who took him.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Thank you, flor and yes, yes, yes, So anyway, this
- 32:06Speaker 1: is when Caesar mentions that Charlotte is the surname of
- 32:10Speaker 1: Big Mom, which means that if he marries into her family,
- 32:17Speaker 1: basically all of them, like the straw Hats, will become
- 32:21Speaker 1: her underlings. And Sanji says, don't jump to conclusions, and
- 32:28Speaker 1: then to Capone, you can't make me do it. This
- 32:32Speaker 1: is insane. And you know the fact that they set
- 32:37Speaker 1: this up and didn't even tell me about it and
- 32:39Speaker 1: I had to get an invitation. There's absolutely no way,
- 32:44Speaker 1: and I'm certainly not going to let her incorporate these
- 32:49Speaker 1: straw Hats into her crew this way, like the straw
- 32:55Speaker 1: Hats are way too special. He's going to be King
- 32:57Speaker 1: of the Pirates. There's like the whole attempt here is misguided,
- 33:06Speaker 1: to say it kindly. And then my favorite ongoing joke
- 33:14Speaker 1: is him saying, if you want Caesar, you can have
- 33:18Speaker 1: him but the rest of us have to go free.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I later on, he like throws all of his friends
- 33:29Speaker 1: out of Capone's stomach except for Caesar, and I keep
- 33:35Speaker 1: honestly kind of low key forgetting Caesar's even there. So
- 33:40Speaker 1: when I get the reminder by him just being like,
- 33:43Speaker 1: what the fuck, dude, it's really been funny every time
- 33:47Speaker 1: because I straight up block him out of my mind.
- 33:52Speaker 1: And it's not like I hate Caesar as a character.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I actually think he's quite funny, but he just feels
- 33:59Speaker 1: so like extra ranious right now, you know, his function
- 34:03Speaker 1: in the plot doesn't really feel pressing, so I just
- 34:08Speaker 1: don't factor him in mentally, and I have to be
- 34:13Speaker 1: reminded he's there all the time. So anyway, this is
- 34:17Speaker 1: when Capone is like, I think you're misunderstanding me, as like, hey,
- 34:22Speaker 1: I have this invitation, will you accept? You need to
- 34:28Speaker 1: look around yourself and realized realize that you are inside
- 34:33Speaker 1: of my body, are utterly outnumbered, and I am taking
- 34:40Speaker 1: you to her, whether you like it or not. And
- 34:45Speaker 1: I'm already on my way. And they say it inside
- 34:49Speaker 1: that they can't feel that Copone is moving, which that
- 34:53Speaker 1: is particularly interesting to me that not only can he
- 34:58Speaker 1: be inside his own body, but he can also still
- 35:03Speaker 1: function when he's on the outside, at least in a
- 35:07Speaker 1: basic way, you know, like walking somewhere. It may not
- 35:11Speaker 1: seem like that big a deal, but this means that
- 35:13Speaker 1: you've got to keep your balance, you've got to be
- 35:15Speaker 1: able to see. And the fact that he can do
- 35:18Speaker 1: that at the same time, that's a humongous advantage. It
- 35:24Speaker 1: would it's almost too much of an advantage. Oh, I
- 35:31Speaker 1: forgot about the fact that he like makes part of
- 35:34Speaker 1: the table that they're sitting at bind Sanjy down to
- 35:39Speaker 1: his chair, and like there's other stuff that moves around.
- 35:43Speaker 1: So yeah, he can probably make the interior of this
- 35:46Speaker 1: place look like exactly what he wants it to at
- 35:48Speaker 1: any given point. I've forgotten that we get to see
- 35:50Speaker 1: all of this, And he says, I control everything here,
- 35:55Speaker 1: so you know, he is about to come at Soanjy
- 35:59Speaker 1: with all all of this stuff to threaten him and says,
- 36:02Speaker 1: I could clabbor you with anything in this room, And
- 36:05Speaker 1: there's like an axe and a mace and a flame thrower,
- 36:09Speaker 1: and then we see Nami beginning to sink into the
- 36:12Speaker 1: floor and it's all just a demonstration of Capone's strength
- 36:17Speaker 1: and his the advantage that he has over all of them.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Sanji keeps telling him to stop with Nami, but he
- 36:24Speaker 1: keeps going until Nami's almost completely submerged in the floor
- 36:27Speaker 1: and like unable to Breathe just to make the point that, like,
- 36:32Speaker 1: if I stop, it's because I feel like it and
- 36:34Speaker 1: not because you said which is you know? I suppose,
- 36:40Speaker 1: So after he releases Nami, he says, even if I
- 36:46Speaker 1: didn't smack your pals around, you couldn't excuse yourself from
- 36:48Speaker 1: Mama's tea party anyhow. And this is when we get
- 36:53Speaker 1: the entrance of what is his name again, Vinnie Vito Vito.
- 37:01Speaker 1: He comes in and he basically says, nobody ever turns
- 37:09Speaker 1: down an invitation from Big Mom. If you do, it's ugly,
- 37:15Speaker 1: and you just wish that you hadn't. Even the devil
- 37:18Speaker 1: himself wouldn't turn down an invitation from her. He has
- 37:24Speaker 1: these tattoos on his forehead and the backs of his
- 37:29Speaker 1: hands that I don't know if this has ever been mentioned.
- 37:33Speaker 1: It's a sort of te shape, but the tea has
- 37:35Speaker 1: these horns coming up off it. And when he says,
- 37:39Speaker 1: like the devil himself wouldn't like decline an invitation with her,
- 37:44Speaker 1: I was sort of like, is this supposed to be, like,
- 37:47Speaker 1: is there a link? Because there's the horns coming off
- 37:50Speaker 1: of the tea, and there's also sort of a pointed
- 37:53Speaker 1: bottom to the tea, and then across it is an arrow.
- 37:57Speaker 1: And there is something about like the imagery here that
- 38:00Speaker 1: I'm like, this could be sort of meant to have
- 38:03Speaker 1: like a devilish sort of design to it, but I
- 38:06Speaker 1: can't tell. And he also, when I said that, he
- 38:09Speaker 1: has like a look that's sort of like we had caribou.
- 38:12Speaker 1: It's mostly his tongue which sticks all the way out
- 38:15Speaker 1: of his mouth and drapes down his front to his
- 38:19Speaker 1: collarbone in this weird curl like a chameleon almost, And
- 38:27Speaker 1: he has gigantic hands and a gigantic gun to go
- 38:31Speaker 1: with those gigantic hands. I had thought initially that his
- 38:35Speaker 1: hands only looked big because of the perspective, but then
- 38:40Speaker 1: later on you see his hands from another person and
- 38:43Speaker 1: they're still very, very big. So that's just something that's
- 38:48Speaker 1: going on with him, I guess. And he has like
- 38:52Speaker 1: one of those those little speech patterns where he says
- 38:57Speaker 1: lay low after a lot of I think it's maybe
- 39:02Speaker 1: words that end in an o sound is when he
- 39:07Speaker 1: does it like no lay Low or you know, watch
- 39:12Speaker 1: the show Leyl. I don't know though, it's just a
- 39:16Speaker 1: sort of sort of a weird you know. He This
- 39:21Speaker 1: happens sometimes with characters in this show where they have
- 39:23Speaker 1: this speech pattern, and I always find it like a
- 39:26Speaker 1: real hit or miss. Sometimes it works quite well, and
- 39:29Speaker 1: I'm like, this is sort of a weird tick that
- 39:34Speaker 1: adds some funny moments. And then there are times like
- 39:38Speaker 1: with the Minx where the way that they say like
- 39:41Speaker 1: uta or uto or whatever after I don't care for
- 39:45Speaker 1: it and I find it makes things more confusing. So
- 39:51Speaker 1: he comes in and he leans in on Sanjy and
- 39:54Speaker 1: he whispers something into Sonjy's ear, and it like basically
- 40:01Speaker 1: seems to make all of the fight go out of him.
- 40:04Speaker 1: It's weird. He just like kind of seems to hunch
- 40:10Speaker 1: forward in a defeated posture. He does light a new cigarette,
- 40:16Speaker 1: so not that defeated, I suppose. But then Sanji says
- 40:24Speaker 1: to Capone, where the hell did you get that info?
- 40:28Speaker 1: And Capone says, where do you think? And I'm sort
- 40:33Speaker 1: of wondering, like is he being blackmailed into this? And
- 40:38Speaker 1: what would be used as blackmail. All I can think
- 40:42Speaker 1: is like, you know, him dressing like a woman on
- 40:45Speaker 1: that island, which isn't like I just really kind of
- 40:52Speaker 1: want to forget that whole thing ever even happened to
- 40:55Speaker 1: be real? But whatever, So long story short, Sanji decides
- 41:05Speaker 1: by the next episode that he is going to He
- 41:11Speaker 1: is going to willingly go and try to keep his
- 41:15Speaker 1: friends out of it, and so he asks for a
- 41:19Speaker 1: pen and paper and writes a note to his friends that,
- 41:26Speaker 1: as we see later, says something like, you know, let's
- 41:32Speaker 1: see what is it. He comes over, he hands the
- 41:34Speaker 1: note to Nami and let's see. I'm trying to get
- 41:39Speaker 1: to the part he says, take this, it's for the crew,
- 41:43Speaker 1: and she says, Sanji, wait, you can't, and he says,
- 41:46Speaker 1: nammy chopper Brooke, I want you all to know this.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I never meant to hide anything from my friends, okay,
- 42:00Speaker 1: And the name Vin Smoke, that's a part of my
- 42:05Speaker 1: past I didn't think i'd ever have to deal with again,
- 42:10Speaker 1: but it caught up to me and I have to
- 42:12Speaker 1: settle this once and for all. And they recognize this
- 42:19Speaker 1: to be like, oh, he's going off on his own,
- 42:23Speaker 1: and he gives them all a hug, and he says,
- 42:24Speaker 1: I feel a powerful presence outside, probably someone from the
- 42:28Speaker 1: mink tribe. Are you ready? Good luck you three? And
- 42:34Speaker 1: he picks them up and he chucks them out, and
- 42:38Speaker 1: Capone is really really mad because they were, you know,
- 42:42Speaker 1: his hostages for this whole thing, and also probably could
- 42:46Speaker 1: have collected some bounties on them. This is when Caesar
- 42:50Speaker 1: yells for him to throw him too, which is again
- 42:54Speaker 1: it was a very funny moment because I utterly forgot
- 42:57Speaker 1: about bro and he screams for him to throw him too.
- 43:02Speaker 1: He's got like teary eyes and SnO coming out of
- 43:05Speaker 1: his nose and everything. So then we have all of
- 43:09Speaker 1: the henchmen beginning to attack Sanji and he does his
- 43:14Speaker 1: like you know, wild breakdancer stuff and manages to take
- 43:18Speaker 1: a bunch of them out, and he comes at Caesar
- 43:23Speaker 1: full speed, and Caesar is screaming. We get the signification
- 43:30Speaker 1: of just how fast this is all happening because there
- 43:33Speaker 1: is a gun that's like mid air the whole time
- 43:36Speaker 1: that he eventually snatches the gun out of the air
- 43:40Speaker 1: and he has it on Caesar and he says, all right, everybody,
- 43:47Speaker 1: listen up, I know this guy's important to you. He
- 43:51Speaker 1: calls him a scumbag, don't make me blow his brains out,
- 43:56Speaker 1: And then I don't think that they all are allowed
- 44:00Speaker 1: to kill me either. I think you were told to
- 44:03Speaker 1: treat me with respect. Actually, and is willing to keep
- 44:10Speaker 1: himself in this situation and deal with whatever it is.
- 44:15Speaker 1: We have the moment where cat Viper is outside of
- 44:22Speaker 1: outside of Capone's body, standing behind him with his like
- 44:25Speaker 1: weird glowing red eye thing that gets done to the Minx.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Occasionally it seems to really be done when the Minks
- 44:32Speaker 1: see something that they want to attack. But he is
- 44:37Speaker 1: looking at Capone and is saying, I found Peckham's in
- 44:42Speaker 1: a pool of his own blood. Care to explain yourself?
- 44:45Speaker 1: So I'm assuming that this is like aggression, specifically pointing
- 44:50Speaker 1: at Capone because he can tell this dude is the
- 44:53Speaker 1: one who did it. And Capone tries to be like, no,
- 44:56Speaker 1: of course I would, and we're on the same side,
- 44:59Speaker 1: and Nami off to the side. It has to be like,
- 45:01Speaker 1: don't listen to this fucking guy. He absolutely did it.
- 45:07Speaker 1: So there's one moment where we get to see Sanji
- 45:13Speaker 1: still inside or no, yeah, we have the note sorry
- 45:19Speaker 1: I'm trying to get to the spot here. I don't
- 45:24Speaker 1: know why we can't join you. Let's just wait for
- 45:27Speaker 1: everyone else. This is a brooke yelling into the tiny
- 45:33Speaker 1: hole that remains, and he's saying to Sanji, we're stronger together,
- 45:38Speaker 1: aren't we. And Sanji turns and looks at him, and
- 45:42Speaker 1: it's such a weird you know, because he's very small
- 45:45Speaker 1: in there. It's my problem to solve. I'll be back soon.
- 45:50Speaker 1: He's giving them a big smile, so give everybody my best, okay,
- 45:57Speaker 1: and then the opening closes up up Now, later on,
- 46:03Speaker 1: they're sort of wondering is he just planning to leave
- 46:09Speaker 1: the straw Hats? And eventually I think it's Frankie that
- 46:12Speaker 1: says specifically, I don't think that he would have worded
- 46:16Speaker 1: it the way that he did if he was intending
- 46:19Speaker 1: to leave. No, it's Zoro, because Or is the only
- 46:22Speaker 1: one who really does not give two shits that Saji
- 46:26Speaker 1: is gone. And he justifies it by being like, you
- 46:30Speaker 1: guys are also worried you'll never see him again. But
- 46:32Speaker 1: there is a way that you say goodbye to your
- 46:35Speaker 1: friends if you are thinking you won't meet again. And
- 46:39Speaker 1: that's not the way that he said anything, So I
- 46:44Speaker 1: think he just wanted to keep you safe and was
- 46:48Speaker 1: trying to keep you from getting involved in this thing.
- 46:50Speaker 1: But he's not leaving the crew. That's not it at all.
- 46:56Speaker 1: And then, oh my god, I forgot about this too,
- 47:01Speaker 1: and that is way more Opie even than I thought
- 47:05Speaker 1: to begin with. But capone, he turns himself into like
- 47:13Speaker 1: a tank on his bottom half, and I had forgotten
- 47:19Speaker 1: he like, so his ability it's almost as Ops Sugar's ability,
- 47:29Speaker 1: because it's not just that he can turn himself into
- 47:33Speaker 1: like a castle where you get morphed to be small
- 47:37Speaker 1: enough to fit inside, but he can actually morph his outside.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Like I know, we had seen him shoot from the
- 47:45Speaker 1: palm of his hands, but I just sort of thought
- 47:48Speaker 1: that that was like a separate ability. What I mean
- 47:58Speaker 1: is like it's the castle, castle fruit, and you know
- 48:03Speaker 1: castles can have like archer slits or gun turrets or whatever.
- 48:09Speaker 1: So I was willing to put down that he can
- 48:11Speaker 1: shoot out of his hands as part of like the
- 48:14Speaker 1: castle defenses. But castles don't just turn into a tank
- 48:18Speaker 1: so that they can roll around. So this guy can
- 48:22Speaker 1: do a lot more even, And I just have to
- 48:28Speaker 1: say that, like, yeah, I feel like, this power is
- 48:34Speaker 1: unbeatable at this point. If you have that combination of
- 48:37Speaker 1: abilities where it's not just that you transform your body
- 48:41Speaker 1: to be something, but you can transform your body to
- 48:44Speaker 1: do things that are like mechanical, that's a big deal,
- 48:48Speaker 1: you know, something with moving parts. Even the Team one
- 48:52Speaker 1: thousand couldn't do that. He could do stabbing weapons, blades,
- 48:57Speaker 1: you know, spears, things like that, but couldn't do anything
- 49:01Speaker 1: that was like complex or had chemical agents or moving
- 49:05Speaker 1: parts to it. So this is, uh, the original power,
- 49:11Speaker 1: as I understood it was already pretty bonkers, but this
- 49:15Speaker 1: is even more so. I feel like that's all that's
- 49:19Speaker 1: almost too much. I don't know. It was adding to
- 49:24Speaker 1: the fact that he can transform stuff inside, like being
- 49:29Speaker 1: able to transform his outside. I feel like there should
- 49:32Speaker 1: be a barrier on that, you know, that should be
- 49:34Speaker 1: the line we don't cross. I don't know. But anyway,
- 49:37Speaker 1: So Wanda chases after Capone as he rolls away, and
- 49:45Speaker 1: Brooke has to stop her and is like, he made
- 49:50Speaker 1: his choice, he knew what he was doing, and we've
- 49:54Speaker 1: just kind of got to let him go. And then
- 49:56Speaker 1: we have the note to all my buds. I've got
- 49:59Speaker 1: to go seeing a woman I'll be back and literally
- 50:06Speaker 1: says I'll be back, and they still are worried that
- 50:11Speaker 1: maybe he's not going to come back. But yeah, so
- 50:16Speaker 1: all right, let's let's jump to the part where we
- 50:20Speaker 1: talked to cat Viper, because my friends, Cat Viper is Garfield.
- 50:30Speaker 1: He's eating lasagna. Later. I made a joke about how
- 50:34Speaker 1: he looks like Garfield in his design, and I never
- 50:39Speaker 1: dreamed that we were actually going to get him eating lasagna.
- 50:42Speaker 1: And that is all one hundred percent reference and I
- 50:44Speaker 1: will hear no objections. But yeah, he's like unwilling to
- 50:54Speaker 1: what's the word. He's unwilling to convalesce. You know, he's
- 50:57Speaker 1: had these terrible injuries and he needs to calm his
- 51:01Speaker 1: ass because he won't get better if he keeps moving
- 51:04Speaker 1: around and doing shit. And yet he cannot help himself.
- 51:09Speaker 1: So we've got Chopper constantly telling him, you need to
- 51:16Speaker 1: slow down, you can't be doing all this, and him
- 51:19Speaker 1: just being like what as he leaps off of his
- 51:22Speaker 1: bed to get a ball or to And when I
- 51:25Speaker 1: tell y'all, this was hitting hard for me because I
- 51:29Speaker 1: have got a dog these days, like Pippin is active,
- 51:35Speaker 1: but he isn't the kind of hyper anymore that puppies are.
- 51:41Speaker 1: And Arwin is about a year now and she's slowing down,
- 51:45Speaker 1: but she still has got that intensity, and I think
- 51:49Speaker 1: personality wise, just has more intensity in general anyway. But
- 51:55Speaker 1: she got Spade a couple months ago, and I tell
- 52:00Speaker 1: you it did nothing to slow her down. I had
- 52:04Speaker 1: to call the vet and be like, she's trying to
- 52:07Speaker 1: wrestle with Pippin. It was literally the next day and
- 52:11Speaker 1: my vet started laughing and was like, God, she is
- 52:14Speaker 1: so hardcore fucking piples. Okay, I'm gonna fill a prescription
- 52:19Speaker 1: for something that will help sedate her, because, like all,
- 52:22Speaker 1: I was trying to keep her from moving around too
- 52:26Speaker 1: much for her recovery, and she was trying to climb
- 52:30Speaker 1: over the gate. She was picking stuff up and shaking it.
- 52:33Speaker 1: She was like just doing barrel rolls on the floor,
- 52:37Speaker 1: you know, which, like that pressure can do enough to
- 52:39Speaker 1: do some damage. I can't. The only other option was
- 52:45Speaker 1: to put her inside a crate, and we don't have
- 52:47Speaker 1: a crate, and a big enough one is expensive and
- 52:50Speaker 1: takes up basically, it would take up our entire kitchen.
- 52:53Speaker 1: We wouldn't even be able to walk in and out
- 52:55Speaker 1: of the room. So it wasn't an option, and this
- 52:59Speaker 1: just reminded me a lot of that, because Cat Viper
- 53:03Speaker 1: is just like pawing at this ball, taking a bath
- 53:09Speaker 1: and eating and singing. At one point, he asks Robin
- 53:14Speaker 1: to like hold something above him, like this little tuft
- 53:16Speaker 1: of fluff that he bats at, and I really really
- 53:20Speaker 1: enjoy the joke that he is this badass warrior but
- 53:23Speaker 1: also is a cat. I just think this is fun.
- 53:29Speaker 1: It's the sort of thing that it's like. I would
- 53:34Speaker 1: say that a lot of people will call this a
- 53:36Speaker 1: kind of an easy joke, but it even so with
- 53:41Speaker 1: a character that is supposed to be so tough a
- 53:45Speaker 1: lot of times, you know, it's it can be. This
- 53:51Speaker 1: show goes back and forth on like on where it
- 53:55Speaker 1: places its humor. So it's not like there's never humor
- 54:00Speaker 1: involved with characters that are also badasses. But it feels
- 54:06Speaker 1: like oftentimes we will pick a character that is the
- 54:12Speaker 1: kind of joke one either they are funny or they
- 54:17Speaker 1: are always like making a fool of themselves in a
- 54:19Speaker 1: particular way. And usually the kind of person that's always
- 54:25Speaker 1: making a fool of themselves, that's the way that we
- 54:29Speaker 1: sort of meet them the first time is like their
- 54:32Speaker 1: introduction to us is them being a goober, and caf
- 54:37Speaker 1: Viper is introduced as a badass first, and then we
- 54:42Speaker 1: are slowly allowed to see the way that he is
- 54:45Speaker 1: a goober. And because it's like unexpected and sneaks up
- 54:51Speaker 1: on us in that way, I just find it really fun,
- 54:54Speaker 1: you know, I just think that's very that's an enjoyable
- 54:57Speaker 1: way to do it. So anyway, yeah, that whole thing.
- 55:03Speaker 1: I mean, I'm kind of jumping ahead here because there
- 55:05Speaker 1: is the journey on the back of these alligator thingies
- 55:09Speaker 1: that we have to talk about first, but I just
- 55:12Speaker 1: had to talk about him out of the gate because
- 55:15Speaker 1: he is very funny. I like the voice acting that
- 55:19Speaker 1: they've done with him, and just the jolly nature that
- 55:24Speaker 1: he has. I was wondering because you know, like the
- 55:30Speaker 1: vibe of a cat often is shorthand for like they're
- 55:35Speaker 1: kind of an asshole. You know, there's somebody who does
- 55:39Speaker 1: their like, does like people, but doesn't want to let
- 55:43Speaker 1: on that they like people. They're very independent or aloof whatever,
- 55:50Speaker 1: And so I kind of thought maybe we would do that,
- 55:53Speaker 1: and I'm glad that we're not, and that he is
- 55:57Speaker 1: a different kind of cat than what we normally see,
- 56:00Speaker 1: because a lot of times characters that are designed after
- 56:03Speaker 1: a cat, we give them those sort of specifically asshole qualities.
- 56:08Speaker 1: And I understand why, but I have met way more
- 56:14Speaker 1: doofy goober fur balls than I have met aloof uptight cats.
- 56:21Speaker 1: The aloof thing is like the rep that they have,
- 56:24Speaker 1: and I don't really know if it's warranted, because it's
- 56:28Speaker 1: the minority in my opinion anyway, like one of I
- 56:34Speaker 1: have like a combo. I have two cats and one
- 56:38Speaker 1: is almost perfectly spherical, with longer fur and no tail.
- 56:43Speaker 1: We don't know what happened to her tail. When we
- 56:45Speaker 1: found her. She had no tail. It's like a little
- 56:47Speaker 1: bob in like a like a bunny, and she is
- 56:51Speaker 1: the dopiest idiot you ever saw. You look in that
- 56:57Speaker 1: cat's eyes and nothing is happening in there. It's like
- 57:00Speaker 1: you could literally hear birds twittering. It's nothing. And then
- 57:06Speaker 1: the other cat is longer and more slender and tabby,
- 57:12Speaker 1: and you look in her eyes and you see the
- 57:17Speaker 1: schematic for the murder plot that she's planning on a
- 57:22Speaker 1: whiteboard with the little piece of red yarn. Because that
- 57:28Speaker 1: cat knows everything and is keeping track of it and
- 57:33Speaker 1: knows you and your schedule and your future plans and
- 57:38Speaker 1: hopes and dreams, and it's just she's biding her time.
- 57:43Speaker 1: And they are complete opposite ends of the spectrum and
- 57:46Speaker 1: they hate each other. Sometimes cats that are opposites still
- 57:50Speaker 1: get along. Not mine. They are literally kept apart from
- 57:55Speaker 1: the dogs almost all the time now. And they met
- 57:59Speaker 1: in the hallway yesterday while the dogs were in the
- 58:02Speaker 1: house at the gate and they were like passing one
- 58:05Speaker 1: another in the hallway with the dogs watching them, a
- 58:09Speaker 1: perfect target for both of them to be irritated with.
- 58:12Speaker 1: And what do they do. They look at each other
- 58:14Speaker 1: and hiss and swat at each other as they pass
- 58:17Speaker 1: in the hallway. There was like they were a foot
- 58:21Speaker 1: and a half away from one another and they couldn't
- 58:23Speaker 1: stand it. It was hilarious. Anyway. The thing that I
- 58:29Speaker 1: wanted to mention before I wrap up is the attack
- 58:33Speaker 1: of these basically mosquitoes on crack at the in the
- 58:40Speaker 1: woods and these days it's so funny because earlier I
- 58:45Speaker 1: was recording an episode where there is an attack of
- 58:48Speaker 1: fire ants. They are literally on fire, so they're not
- 58:51Speaker 1: fire ants like real ones. But I would argue I
- 58:55Speaker 1: prefer them to be on fire than what they are,
- 58:58Speaker 1: and then we have these mosquito things, which also living
- 59:02Speaker 1: in Texas, the mosquitoes here, I know there are places
- 59:06Speaker 1: that are worse. I've been to Florida. I haven't been
- 59:09Speaker 1: to Louisiana, but I've heard it's pretty bad, so I
- 59:13Speaker 1: know it's not as bad as it could be. But
- 59:15Speaker 1: the mosquito situation here is pretty intense, and it was
- 59:19Speaker 1: really satisfying to see all of our friends use all
- 59:24Speaker 1: of their little tricks and abilities to take these guys down.
- 59:28Speaker 1: I will say though, that I found it funny how
- 59:32Speaker 1: incredibly effective Robin's ability was, because it did sort of
- 59:37Speaker 1: feel like as long as Robin's here, nobody else really
- 59:40Speaker 1: had to do anything. She wraps their arms around them
- 59:43Speaker 1: and so their wings can't move and they just drop,
- 59:48Speaker 1: you know. And I understand that that doesn't kill them,
- 59:53Speaker 1: but it makes it so easy to kill them that
- 59:57Speaker 1: I feel like it could just be like her and
- 59:59Speaker 1: any somebody else with any of the things that they
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: can do, and it would be a wrap. But it
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: was really satisfying to see all of these mosquitos taken
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: out at the same time. Mosquitos are one of those
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: things that, like I am certain if mosquitoes were deleted
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: from the face of Earth, that it would cause the
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: collapse of our entire ecosystem probably, you know, I don't
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: know if they do any pollinating I don't think so,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: but I know that they are like a major food
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: source for a lot of other animals, so it would
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: be a problem. But I can't help but think it
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: might be worth it. I just hate them so much.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: I hate them so much. Ugh, And the fact that
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: they can carry diseases that can paralyze you too. You know,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: this is not it's a very low percentage chance that
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: will happen to you, but it's not zero. It's out there.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: It just you're already taking my blood and you could
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: potentially be infecting me with something like Really, It's just
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I think that is extremely uncalled for. So yeah, I
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: don't know anyway. Oh, Serphrum's making some dungeon crawler, Carl
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: jokes in the chat that's what I was covering before
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: with the fire ants guys, and Florian says more than moths.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: It's different moths I hate in a way that is
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: like contemptuous, because moths are very stupid insects that are
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: actually harmless, but they bother me in a way that
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: they don't intend that I find really upsetting because they
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: they follow the light, so they wind up in my
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: house and for some reason, they bounce against my lips
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: a lot. They're so erratic, and I have had more
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: than one moth almost in my mouth, like it happens
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: a lot more than it should. And also I have
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: a paranoia of them getting caught in my hair because
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: I have very big hair. All of those things are
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: like just a side effect of them existing, and I
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: find it very annoying that they can't exist without doing
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: things that bother me. But mosquitoes, it's like spiteful, you know.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I have an issue with mosquitos that's way more personal
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: because it's like you are targeting me and my friends.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Mos they're more of like a Rubus Hagrid type thing
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: where I know you mean well, but you're fucking everything
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: up for everybody around you because you are so thoughtless
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: and not in control of yourself. But a mosquito is
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: like a malfoy, where it is out there with malice
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: to ruin your day. So I hate mosquitos more than moths,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: But hatred for mosquitoes feel so universal to the human
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: experience that it's not unique. So I tend to mention
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: moths specifically because they are something that a lot of
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: other people find surprising, so it's just more interesting, you know.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: But yeah, I just I've come around a little bit
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: on moths, guys, because some of them are super pretty.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: I actually saw a Luna moth in person the other
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: day for the first time, and it was stunning. It
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: was like, so beauty. I took a photo and I
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: was like, no wonder, these moths are in so many
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: designs for things all over the place. Gorgeous. But I
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: had a lot of internal conflict about liking how much
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: it looked. I really did, all right, So I have
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: to wrap things up. But thank you guys again so
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: much for listening for joining me. I hope y'all are
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: enjoying the coverage and I will be seeing you soon
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: with a new episode. Until then, to the lou motherfuckers.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: That was an Unspoiled Network podcast.
