- 5:56This is ministry X. I am Daniel X, your host on the
- 6:00Fringe Radio Network. Go to fringeradionetwork dot com and listen and if you just
- 6:08subscribe to my podcast. You should also subscribe to the Fringe Radio Network podcast,
- 6:15which is a network of podcasts, scientifically speaking, and it's about seventy
- 6:25percent fringe Christian stuff, about ten percent normy Christian stuff, about five percent
- 6:36agnostic or let's say New Age leaning, maybe five percent paranormal parapsychology, about
- 6:48ten percent news and conspiracies, and about one percent that's just out there,
- 6:58just what we call the borderlands. Well, nine percent news and one percent
- 7:04borderlands. It's kind of like the outer phalanges of the Milky Way. That's
- 7:15the best way I can describe it. It's dangerous to go out there because
- 7:21I'm pretty sure that's where the black hole is at and the outer darkness,
- 7:32Like Elon Musk said, though we don't know what's on the other side of
- 7:36a black hole. It's unpredictable, Okay, So we don't like to spend
- 7:43lots of time out there. And what about the way out stuff that God
- 7:49blesses us with, that's not discussed as much. So maybe there's one percent
- 7:57way out beyond the borderlands. I think New Jerusalem has already embarked Destination Earth.
- 8:07Is it going to be twenty thirty twenty thirty one. I don't know
- 8:13are those percentages one hundred percent accurate? No, course not. Labels are
- 8:22a subjective thing because the fringe is not just nephelum bloodlines and all that.
- 8:31It's alien abductions being thwarted by the name of Jesus. These beings are repelled,
- 8:37they're neutralized by the name of Jesus, which means they obey his authority.
- 8:48The world of ufology intersects with the narrative of the Bible in several key
- 8:52ways because aliens that evolved on other planets, from other stars systems, they
- 9:01wouldn't acknowledge Jesus. They're not under any curse. The Gospel doesn't apply to
- 9:07them. They wouldn't know our language, our tongues. And my show crosses
- 9:16into all these territories, and sometimes we have to engage the cloaking device in
- 9:22some of these areas because we're behind enemy lines, you know, the neutral
- 9:30zone, or wherever Satan has a stronghold, like America. And in this
- 9:37episode, we're going into the blurry world of ghosts and hauntings and the so
- 9:46called ghost hunters of cable TV. And I'm not saying that taps guys specifically
- 9:54here, just ghost hunters in general. And then we're going to travel back
- 9:58in time to the origins of ghost hunting, back to the mid nineteenth century,
- 10:09where the rise in popularity of spiritism in the West as a direct result
- 10:16of the Silk Road, the British Empire, the East India Company establishing ties
- 10:22with the East, with China, India, Japan, Southeast Asia. This
- 10:28is an impact of colonialism and so for the first time people in the West
- 10:35were exposed to these Eastern philosophies and Eastern mysticism, and it would coincide with
- 10:43the development of parapsychology in England, in Western Europe, and in America and
- 10:52Canada, and psychologists like Carl Jung were keyed in on many of these traditionally
- 11:00Eastern esoteric concepts. Carl Jung used and commented on the iichin, which I've
- 11:07talked about in a couple different episodes. Before this time, you had to
- 11:13be extremely rich. Most people of ordinary means couldn't travel the world to these
- 11:22exotic places unless you were like Aleister Crowley. You were born rich, you
- 11:30were a trust fund occultist. But through the establishment of trade these ideas were
- 11:41seated in the occult traditions of the West, like the Rosicrucians and the ancient
- 11:48texts of China India began to be translated into English, into German, into
- 11:54French. Yeah, something just tapped the desk. Something just bumped the desk,
- 12:11just as I pull up my old website. I have a haunt my
- 12:20old website on tripod when I used to do ghost hunting. I'm reading through
- 12:26some of the stuff I wrote. This is back in like two thousand and
- 12:31seven, when I basically broke off my research. I'm looking at the website
- 12:43and something clearly pounded on the desk. There's no animals in here. Isn't
- 12:54that funny in here? Nah? Nah, I'm just reading. I don't
- 13:11believe this stuff anymore. Well, let's read some of this. This is
- 13:16from my old website, have a haunt ghost in Spirit research. And yes,
- 13:22you can still find this on the internet. And the MIDI file playing
- 13:28is actually embedded in the website, so some browsers, you can't even look
- 13:39at this anymore? All right? Should I just start reading the question of
- 13:54life and death has puzzled humankind since the Stone Age. Some might argue even
- 14:03that the fear of death has done more to shape human culture than any other
- 14:09factor. What happens to us when we die? Sure, the brain stops
- 14:16sending out electric impulses, the heart stops beating, the blood stops circulating,
- 14:24breathing halts, the organs fail, and eventually the body ceases to function.
- 14:31But what happens to us our thoughts, memories, emotions, our mind,
- 14:39our personality? Do these also perish? Do we just blink out of existence
- 14:46into oblivion? Or does our consciousness persist in altered form, having a different
- 14:54perception in another dimension? Perhaps? Undoubtedly. If you've ever delighted in a
- 15:03spine chingling, a spine chilling ghost story, or struggled with the passing of
- 15:15a loved one, the question of life after death has also given you pause
- 15:20for reflection. Do you believe you are experiencing a haunting in your home?
- 15:28Did you have an unsettling experience you'd like to share? Did you snap some
- 15:33strange photos you'd like us to examine? Are you interested in ghost hunting?
- 15:39These are all valid reasons for finding yourself here. Wilcome to have a haunt?
- 15:48We are here to provide helpful information, advice, analysis and assistance with
- 15:56integrity and complete respect for your privacy. If you are new to our site
- 16:04and want to know more about who we are, click on this and this
- 16:14so included in the introduction here. The homepage is a ghost story, not
- 16:22unlike many ghost stories you've heard. Perhaps it's one twenty am. It's one
- 16:41twenty am. A young girl awakens and in her groggy state, she sees
- 16:51a flash of light and then a vaporous, wispy form near the foot of
- 16:56her bed. As a coaches, A chill settles in and she pulls her
- 17:03blanket up around her neck. Her heart beats wildly, yet she remains perfectly
- 17:11still. The shadowy figure begins to fill with a translucent light and take the
- 17:19shape of an older woman. Something about this older woman seems familiar to her,
- 17:26as the distinctive smell of scotch whiskey wafts through the room. Grandma was
- 17:34a drunk grandma, The little girl squeaks, Yes, don't look so surprised.
- 17:45Everyone knew where this day was coming, replies the old woman. I
- 17:53am so sorry, She continues, I didn't understand all the pain hours causing.
- 18:07A hand reaches out from the shadows and rests on the girl's thigh,
- 18:12causing a cool, tingling sensation. I love you, I always loved you
- 18:21and your little brother. Everything is okay now, she explains. The girl,
- 18:32struck with disbelief, rubs her eyes and looks to the foot of her
- 18:36bed again, noticing her grandmother's familiar, wrinkled face has changed to that of
- 18:42a vibrant young woman in her thirties. Her gray hair, always tied up
- 18:49in a bun, is now flowing a radiant brunette. Suddenly, the luminous
- 18:57form begins to dis pate as she flashes one last smile to her bewildered granddaughter.
- 19:11The young girl sits up in bed. She begins thinking to herself,
- 19:17how strange it is that Grandma's mouth hadn't been moved, hadn't moved when speaking.
- 19:26She realizes that the voice she was hearing was coming from inside her head.
- 19:37What's up, Grandma was a long neck whisk and Mama, Oh my
- 19:52god, what a freaky dream, she exclaims, her heart still racing gradually.
- 20:00As she rests her head on her pillow, her thoughts become still,
- 20:06and she drifts back to sleep. Later that morning, the young girl stirs
- 20:18from her sleep hearing her mother talking on the phone, she gets out of
- 20:22bed and shuffles down the hallway. Her mother is on the phone with tears
- 20:29streaming down her face. It's so sudden. I thought we had more time,
- 20:37her mother cries. Her mother looks over to her with an expression of
- 20:42grief. Grandma passed away last night, sweetie. Her heart stopped suddenly.
- 20:52The little girl recalls the strange dream from the night before. Or was it
- 20:56a dream? She wonders, Mom, When did this happen, the young
- 21:04girl asked breathlessly. To her amazement, her mother replies, it was about
- 21:11one in the morning. Oh boy, Now you may not have experienced to
- 21:22that, but I'm sure you've heard a similar tale. Have you heard the
- 21:30story of the woman in the white wedding dress by the side of the road
- 21:37hitchhiking? Have you heard that one? She was tragically killed on her wedding
- 21:47day. She never made it, unfortunately. I think she had to drive
- 21:56herself to her own wedding, and so she haunts the side of the road
- 22:07where the crash occurred. And if you're driving at night and you're a little
- 22:11bleary eyed, and you see a white figure by the side of the road.
- 22:19You better stop and pick her up and give her a ride, because
- 22:25if you don't, around the corner is dead man's curve, and you're going
- 22:34to plummet to your death going around that corner a little too fast because you
- 22:41saw something freaky on the side of the road and you didn't stop and pull
- 22:45over. But if you have some sense, you're gonna pull over. You're
- 22:53gonna let her in, and she's gonna sit in the back seat, and
- 23:00you're going to talk to her for a few minutes as you drive through the
- 23:04canyon, and she's going to tell you how she's going to get married,
- 23:12and she's so happy, and then you look in your rear view mirror again
- 23:19at the back seat and she's vanished. And then you're going to run off
- 23:26the side of the road anyways, because you're going to be like, oh
- 23:33my god, I just saw the white Witch a goose. All right,
- 23:45let's get serious doing a podcast here, Sorry, Johnny. Johnny was listening
- 23:56to a recent episode of mine and he was like, that was the weirdest
- 24:03podcast I'd ever listened to in my poor, miserable life. I guess he
- 24:12thought it was pretty depressing or whatever. But this certainly isn't depressing. It's
- 24:18interesting as I was interested in the mysteries of death and the beyond and the
- 24:26afterlife, and the spirit and the soul, and what happens to all these
- 24:33immaterial things, you know, when the material body perishes. And I didn't
- 24:41have a Christian viewpoint. I didn't have a biblical worldview at this time when
- 24:48I was engaged in the ghost hunting and the research and the website. But
- 24:56I did believe in a spirit world, spirit dimension, and I was interested
- 25:02in that. So let me read a little bit more ghost research and introduction.
- 25:11This is from the website. The tale above is a fictional account describing
- 25:18what ghost researchers call a crisis apparition. It illustrates many observances commonly reported in
- 25:26ghostly encounters. Despite the confirmation of death in the morning, a skeptic might
- 25:33classify this encounter as a coincidental dream, noting the girl's groggy state. A
- 25:41believer would be inclined to see this as proof of an afterlife. Still,
- 25:45others would question whether the girl witnessed a physical spirit manifestation or somehow perceived a
- 25:53mental projection sent forth by her grandmother at death. Ghostly occurrences are often classified
- 26:02by the term paranormal para in Latin, meaning beyond or outside, while the
- 26:10study of psychic phenomena is called parapsychology and in recent years has gained limited acceptance
- 26:18as an academic science at some universities. From a religious viewpoint, the appearance
- 26:25of a ghost might be regarded as supernatural. We use these terms reluctantly because
- 26:33they all suggest the origin of such phenomenon to be beyond or outside the natural
- 26:38world. On the contrary, we argue that all phenomena are a natural and
- 26:45intrinsic part of our universe. Such phenomena simply have explanations which lie outside what
- 26:53is considered normal by the dominant society and beyond the scope of sciences current theoretical
- 27:00models. Indeed, uh the study of ghosts is almost wholly disregarded by scientists
- 27:11for several reasons. The prevalent attitude is that science can only measure the physical
- 27:18objective world, and is therefore limited in researching the metaphysical. Thus, one
- 27:25of the major goals of spirit researchers is to obtain empirical evidence that our spirit
- 27:30survives physical death. A long history of fraud associated with the spiritualism movement has
- 27:40done a great deal to stigmatize the study of ghosts. In addition, popular
- 27:45culture frequently presents ghost stories side by side with laughable claims of alien breeding conspiracies,
- 27:55Oh my Gosh, Elvis, Sidings and the like. Films like Ghostbusters,
- 28:03Poultergeist, and more recently, White Noise distort people's perceptions of spirit phenomena
- 28:11and the people who investigate hauntings. As a result, serious ghost hunters operate
- 28:15under intense scrutiny, with an even greater burden of responsibility to conduct their research
- 28:22with integrity and precision than researchers in other fields. Because of the mercurial nature
- 28:30of ghosts, scientifically valid evidence is scarce, and so even today, the
- 28:36reality of spirit phenomena is commonly overlooked in favor of more widely accepted religious or
- 28:44superstitious explanations among the general population, or classified as being the product of mental
- 28:52disorders or over active imaginations by the scientific community. While these explanations do suffice
- 29:00in many cases, there remains a significant portion of unexplained occurrences that weren't further
- 29:07investigation. On the whole, it is fear that plays the biggest factor in
- 29:15the rejection of ghost research. And you could substitute UFO research in there too.
- 29:21It's about the same thing that I'm talking about here, which is interesting,
- 29:29isn't it all right? Off to work? I go? How's it
- 29:41go? Off? Work? Go? Leader? You are a slave to
- 29:56the lender, anyone to loans your money dictates something conditions. So what conditions
- 30:10are being dictated to all kind of the worlds, of the countries of this
- 30:15world by the lenders who are unseen lenders? Uh, they're the ones.
- 30:26They're the ones that instituted the black operations in all the countries families of the
- 30:33world. Right, So in order to have a country running good and under
- 30:40their control, you have to have a CIA. You have to have somebody
- 30:44that works in the world of shadows. By the way, guys, I
- 30:48shut up, not the others. A shadow government. What else? What
- 30:52does Satan do? Satan uses lies, see its temptation. It doesn't work
- 31:00in the shadows us exactly? Is that? What does the Bible say about
- 31:07the night? In the day the evil operates best. I don't see it
- 31:11in the shadows in the night, cover by the cover of darkness. Yeah,
- 31:17Okay, so why are you running out into the night into locations where
- 31:34something tragic happened, a death, a murder, a rape, a genocide,
- 31:48a poison, torture, a tragedy, a trauma, because supposedly,
- 32:00if trauma leaves an imprint on the environment. But I want to back up
- 32:07a little bit from some of these ghost hunting premises and ask the question,
- 32:15what are you doing running around in the shadows? And it's just interesting that,
- 32:25you know, we combat the shadows with all this technological gear, night
- 32:30vision cameras, flear camera, heat sensing cameras, an ovelisk, a ghost
- 32:38box, all this technology to measure em fields. You're looking for a scientific
- 32:51confirmation of something that's operating in the shadows. And I've forgot where I was
- 33:00going with that. Ultimately, like you're dealing with stuff that is under the
- 33:08dominion of the realm of the dead and the fallen realm essentially. Okay,
- 33:25Now, some people take the approach like we're going into this to heal this
- 33:32situation, Like if these ghosts can just tell their story about how you know,
- 33:42they were tricked, they were betrayed, they were killed, that the
- 33:46haunting goes away and the imprint is resolved and you know, you have some
- 33:52sort of spiritual healing okay to the environment. Okay. But very few groups,
- 34:00at least the groups that are publicized that are put out there on you
- 34:07know, Travel Channel or History Channel or whatever it's to find you know,
- 34:15scientific evidence of ghosts. There were a couple of shows that kind of took
- 34:22the angle of you know, we're here to help people. It was more
- 34:30of a counseling, you know, and with the acknowledgment of supernatural effects affecting
- 34:39people, and just acknowledgment of the reality of curses, of family curses and
- 34:46these sort of things, trying to break these family curses. Some of these
- 34:51ghost groups would have an you know, an actual demonologist supposedly, you know,
- 35:00come along with some holy water and a crucifix. I think of a
- 35:06Paranormal State, which was the group out of Penn State, I think,
- 35:14and they had a television show called Paranormal State. The guy's name was Ryan,
- 35:20he was the head guy, you know, and they had a medium,
- 35:27a psychic medium along with them. At the same time, obviously that
- 35:31their approach was flawed. They're not coming from a Christian approach, but yeah,
- 35:37they can have a demonologist come along to and say, oh, yeah,
- 35:40we're dealing with a demon. Uh so, a very murky world to
- 35:51navigate, a very treacherous pursuit. Much of it's, you know, if
- 35:59we're trying to be scientific, it's very pseudo scientific honestly, you know,
- 36:05just because you know, flashlight lights up, or you know, you get
- 36:08some blurb on you know, an EVP on a tape recorder. Okay,
- 36:16maybe you could say, okay, there's there is some sort of electromagnetic phenomenon
- 36:21going on here. There's some sort of unseen you know force. We can
- 36:28track it. It moves throughout the building. It seems like we can there's
- 36:34temperature changes, something is going on here. Not you know, this is
- 36:37definitely the ghost of Luddy Susie. I did some ghosts hunting just out of
- 36:46a legitimate desire to learn more about death, and uh yeah, these these
- 36:55other dimensions, how we communicate like across these veils, these realms, these
- 37:02dimensions has always been a fascinating topic. And I think that's the primary focus
- 37:09of the occult New World Order because their authority needs to have some evidence to
- 37:23back it up, and their evidence this the evidence they're going to substitute in
- 37:29there is going to be you know, AI, man is God. AI
- 37:35represents not its own thing, but it represents mankind because it's based on human
- 37:44knowledge. It's not based on divine knowledge. The AI is the ultimate compendium,
- 37:52will be the ultimate compendium of human knowledge that's nicely groomed and presentable as
- 38:00to you know, not offend anybody, but be all inclusive. And if
- 38:08you differ with the data or the interpretation of the data, or the record
- 38:19or the footnotes, or any aspect of the revised world history, you know,
- 38:30because now is the time for humanity to unite under these humanitarian, humanist
- 38:40Marxist principles, and now the human race is ready to graduate. We're ready
- 38:49to reach to the stars. So I will definitely have to break up this
- 38:59record because into little sound bites, because I'm trying to connect this to the
- 39:06deception that is, you know, ghost hunting, ghost busting, demon hunting,
- 39:21and even the UFO alien phenomenon as well, because as we'll see,
- 39:29all of this goes back to secret societies, occulted knowledge, and these principalities.
- 39:50It's Princess, Sorry, I got something in my mind. I suspect
- 40:07conspiracy and so that was a little clip of Jack on Let's Get Jacked Up,
- 40:17which I was listening to, and it got me thinking of this idea
- 40:22of poking around in the darkness. And so generally, you know, the
- 40:31motivation for the ghost Hunter as opposed to like Scooby Do you know Scooby Doo,
- 40:43they were out to solve crimes that ended up being very human in nature
- 40:50and not supernatural, where deception and fear is employed to lead invest instigators off
- 41:00the trail, like wouldn't you expect Shaggy and Scooby to eventually be like,
- 41:09you know, all this stuff turns out to be fake anyways, but every
- 41:15episode they're just terrified. But it's like comic relief, and most horror stories,
- 41:23horror movies, there has to be some comic relief or it's just too
- 41:28overwhelming for most audiences. Apparently also children, Scooby Doo is one of my
- 41:36favorite cartoons growing up, Sweeks scoob Leggy. Okay, I had to throw
- 41:53in some some of that, Okay, but the Real Ghostbusters not the cartoon.
- 42:00There was a cartoon called The Real Ghostbusters. But the motivation for these
- 42:07early investigators came from a desire to understand, to prove or disprove the notion
- 42:15of life after death, which prior to the turn of the twentieth century was
- 42:22a well established belief around the world. Very few, if any, human
- 42:28cultures thought that your physical death was the end of your existence, and this
- 42:35is evidenced by human beings elaborate burial rituals. Animals don't bury their dead,
- 42:45and they certainly don't dress up their bodies and throw in personal items and make
- 42:52inscriptions and prayers. There is evidence, like Steve Quail and others have written
- 43:00about, that animals do mourn the dead, but it's doubtful that they concern
- 43:06themselves with the fate of their furry friends in the afterlife. Humans, on
- 43:15the other hand, were fixated on death. Death or the avoidance of death
- 43:22basically dictates our living. It spawns entire religious systems, and this quest for
- 43:30human potentiality is always motivated by the fountain of youth, the desire for immortality.
- 43:42And isn't it interesting that this can be traced all the way back to
- 43:45the Garden of Eden in the Bible. The Bible has plenty to say about
- 43:52the afterlife, spirits, death, ghosts, and warns us about communicating with
- 43:59the dead. Now would Bible forbid contacting the dead if it were not possible.
- 44:06No, it's certainly possible, And the multitude of the nations in Biblical
- 44:13times certainly practiced spirit communication and even worshiped the dead. And this was the
- 44:20rule, and the Jews were the exception. Because Yahweh demanded complete devotion.
- 44:28You were not to seek the counsel of your dead ancestors or other spirits.
- 44:34All you needed to know was communicated directly through God or his prophets and the
- 44:39written scriptures of the time. And like the other commandments and laws given to
- 44:49the Jews, it was out of love for his people that they were communicated.
- 44:54Because God, who was omniscient, knows the co position of spirits in
- 45:00the spirit realm and knows its potential for corrupting influence on his people. So
- 45:12God knows spirits can communicate with the living under the right conditions. But he
- 45:15also knows not all spirits are righteous and good. Only God is good,
- 45:25and they're not all loyal to God Almighty, but serve the enemy, and
- 45:31therefore they employ the tactics of the enemy to deceive human beings, and like
- 45:37the enemy, they lie, captivate, manipulate, entrap ultimately with the goal
- 45:47of diverting worship to themselves instead of God, to cause people to sin and
- 45:53to destroy them, because that's what the enemy is out to do. So
- 46:01the simple practice of pouring out some whiskey on Grandma's grave, you know,
- 46:07or pouring out a libation for your dead homies, is a form of worshiping
- 46:14the dead, and that's not how we worship God. And that alone is
- 46:21reason enough to avoid those practices. If God himself is not directing the communication
- 46:29i e. Dispatching a messenger angel or anointing a prophet, or speaking through
- 46:36the Holy Spirit through his written word, then beware. But many of these
- 46:45early psychologists who studied the psychic mediums and ectoplasm, and they had a scientific
- 46:53interest in life after death, they weren't interested in worshiping the dead per se.
- 47:00Because the culture, especially in the West, was being transformed into an
- 47:07urban, industrialized, very materialist society, and people were starting to be separated
- 47:14from their spiritual understanding of themselves and their world. People felt detached. They
- 47:23increasingly felt like a cog in the machine of progress and advancement. So pressure
- 47:30was put on the churches to modernize to keep up. What really should have
- 47:38happened was the church should have doubled down on the spiritual reality that the Bible
- 47:45presents. But instead the church, and this continues today, has turned to
- 47:52science and rationalism and literalism to attempt to explain the weird spiritual phenomenon that we
- 48:01read about all throughout the Bible. These same questions interested the spiritualists and also
- 48:13the likes of these nineteenth century and early twentieth century psychologists. So really this
- 48:22is the result of this is a backlash against rationalism, modernism, industrialism,
- 48:30materialism. Actually, astrologically, this is saturn, okay, chronos when society,
- 48:46you see the celebs, they're always seeking after their star sign, and
- 48:51then it becomes hip, it becomes popular. Did we be doing seances up
- 48:55in here, Yeah, this is why I'll be watching in my ancestors.
- 49:06So back then, when polite society became bored, okay, and one night,
- 49:10you know, Lord Rutherford pulls out this strange talking board that he obtained
- 49:16while visiting Egypt. A similar device would later be trademarked Oija and marketed as
- 49:28a family board game by Parker Brothers Ouigi supposedly means good luck, good fortune,
- 49:45you're gonna need it. Do you believe in luck, because that's also
- 49:51something the idea of luck or chance is something that also entered in to the
- 49:59sit of the west from the East, This idea of chance factoring into the
- 50:05equation of your life or luck. It's not really Christian though, I mean
- 50:14it's not the Bible, and the consequences of the characters of the Bible rarely
- 50:23have anything to do with luck or chance. The cards fall where they may
- 50:30as a result of, you know, obedience or disobedience to God. So
- 50:37this same principle carries through two when we're trying to understand the reasons for the
- 50:46prohibition that come down from God when it concerns these sort of communications. But
- 50:58in the hands of an experience medium or a sensitive or a necromancer, one
- 51:04who communicates with the dead, a powerful communication tool, not unlike the technology
- 51:14that modern day ghost hunters use. An novelisk is a word bank. A
- 51:22ghost box is a scanner that scans radio frequencies rapidly. This supposedly gives the
- 51:30ghost vocabulary to assemble words or messages. You know, and it's you're supposed
- 51:38to interpret it sort of through this synchronistic application, and other devices respond to
- 51:51changes in the EM field or produce an EVP, an electronic voice imprinted on
- 52:00magnetic tape, or digital even infrared ultraviolet okay, that's also on the EM
- 52:07spectrum. So for the naturalist, this is all you can do. And
- 52:15when I ran my newsletter, when I was doing the ghost hunting and that
- 52:19sort of thing and just exploring deeper and deeper into the occult, that was
- 52:25criticism that I got from Christians saying, well, of course you see things
- 52:32that way. That's the way a natural man sees things. There's nothing supernatural.
- 52:42It's all part of nature. Okay. But for the naturalist, these
- 52:49are your tools. A flashlight to illuminate the dark, like something moving between
- 52:54dimensions causes my thing to bleep, so that must be the ghost of spitfire,
- 53:01sally. But if you can see into the spirit realm either in a
- 53:07flash or perceive visitors from the spirit realms standing in front of you talking to
- 53:15you, well they want to study you and your PK powers, your psychic
- 53:20abilities because they like to do mind control operations, black ops, remote viewing.
- 53:27So you're special, you're more intuitive, you're more empathic. This is
- 53:32why mediums tend to be women. And after the Civil War here in America,
- 53:39an industry rose up, really fed by all that suffering and bloodshed and
- 53:45death and grief, and so many men went off to fight and never return,
- 53:52never to be found, never to be identified. So there was a
- 53:58market for medias who could locate the missing and speak to the dead. Okay,
- 54:06and America by and large is a Christian country at this time, so
- 54:12this was on the down low. So you can see how Satan operates here
- 54:16when high society becomes interested in these things, and presidents and first ladies consult
- 54:22with psychics and probably worse okay, con artists, magicians, freemasons, okay,
- 54:29straight up Satanists. Okay. There's pictures of Joe Biden holding hands with
- 54:36and praising Congressman Robert Byrd, a Democrat who headed up a chapter of the
- 54:44KKK in West Virginia. Hillary Clinton praised this guy too. You know,
- 54:51these good old boy Democrats Okay, supposedly Christian people, but really the the
- 55:00lead opposite of Christian. Somehow, this trash, these people are trash end
- 55:07up being in political office for decades. I mean, people always want to
- 55:14compare their political enemies to Hitler. Hitler was inspired by these people. Okay,
- 55:22KKK isn't Christian anymore than Nazis or Christian. Okay. Hitler admired America's
- 55:31eugenics programs and people like Margaret Sanger who founded Planned Parenthood. They worship Moloch
- 55:43period, you know, Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton, eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie
- 55:52Kennedy Okay, And in Britain and Western Europe as well, revolutions all across
- 56:00Central Europe. Trauma, massive trauma, even abuses of power, unrighteousness,
- 56:06lawlessness, greed, okay, principalities and powers, spiritual wickedness in high places.
- 56:15This creates conditions that are ripe for mind control and propaganda programming. Okay,
- 56:23and many medium's, genuine mediums, I'll say, experienced some sort of
- 56:30trauma or abuse at a young age. It's very common, and I think
- 56:34it actually explains the heightened sensitivity, the heightened intuition. Well, it's true
- 56:42of any human who's placed in a survival situation. This is the super soldier
- 56:51program. Not only are they being bred to be physically superior through genetic manipulation
- 56:58and implants. Basically cyborgs, okay, but mentally superior and the survival apparatus,
- 57:07which is triggered chemically or through subconscious suggestion. Okay, if you were
- 57:15raised in a home where your father worked all day, slaved away in a
- 57:20factory or a mine, and stopped at the bar on the way home,
- 57:22and he's drunk and pissed off and looking for an excuse to unload on you,
- 57:30Okay, you're going to start to hear his car when it's coming down
- 57:34the street. You're gonna be able to pick up on his energy when he
- 57:37walks in the house. You might even flash on an image of him sitting
- 57:42at the bar. It might be every Friday, every Monday and Friday.
- 57:45You're gonna know. You might even notice he emanates a color an aura depending
- 57:54on his mood or the spirit that has come over him, or something clawing
- 58:00at his back. Okay, I'm way off track here, Focus, Daniels.
- 58:10The point I was getting to is it's ironic that the gifted are the
- 58:16victimized until somebody with money or power takes notice. Think of the Witch of
- 58:25Endor. Everything's cool when you're helping out the king, right, you're protected?
- 58:32Oh yes, yes, I am jew I followed the law. This
- 58:37is not really divination. So what was Saul's mind state? Paranoid? Apprehensive,
- 58:45maybe a little fearful, because the more you distance yourself from God,
- 58:51the more fear consumes you. Did Saul get any helpful information from the ghost
- 59:00of Samuel the prophet? No, he got scolded and then pretty soon he'd
- 59:07be dead, okay, by suicide. What's underground comes upon the earth.
- 59:22What dwells in the caves and in the caverns is summoned above ground, and
- 59:28then the occult is hip, it's fashionable, it's goth And around the same
- 59:32time, science is booming, knowledge is increasing. Oh, what's happening?
- 59:42Is there some sort of exchange of knowledge, some sort of unholy partnership taking
- 59:47place, maybe bringing these things to pass? Well, some of these are
- 59:52my questions, okay. But the early parapsychologists, they were primarily interested in
- 1:00:00the genuine article the channel, and many of them set out to expose and
- 1:00:07debunk mediums and psychics through elaborate testing, but with a genuine curiosity about this
- 1:00:15range of phenomenon. And they did expose a lot of fraud and shady stuff,
- 1:00:21but they also stumbled upon genuine, unexplainable phenomenon. Like I said,
- 1:00:28just like the UFO enigma. This indicates that we are dealing with phenomena that
- 1:00:35are related, but not because ghosts and aliens are the same thing new,
- 1:00:44but they are apart from the physical realm. What we don't understand so well
- 1:00:51is how the crossover occurs. Okay, so ladies and gentlemen, what I'm
- 1:00:58gonna do here is take a quick break. We're operating under the philosophy that
- 1:01:05music is better than uninterrupted rambling. And when I come back, we're going
- 1:01:12to talk about William James, the American psychologist who looked into these things,
- 1:01:17and some of his contemporaries in America and also England. Right after the break
- 1:01:28here, this is actually called Lady of the Lake. I did this with
- 1:01:34my daughter, actually, and it kind of it draws upon the Swan Lake
- 1:01:42and I just added a baseline to it and be right back the bay.
- 1:03:25We're back. This is Ministry X, and we're going to continue our discussion
- 1:03:30about William James and his contemporaries, the real ghostbusters, the foundations of ghostbusting.
- 1:03:43I don't have any Ghostbusters clips. Darn't it right? When someone asks
- 1:03:49you if you're a god. You see, yes, there it is.
- 1:03:52Yeah, you guys are fast, thanks Wizzo. Yeah. So a great
- 1:04:02deal of the research that I did for this episode comes from a book called
- 1:04:08Appropriately Ghost Hunters by Deborah Blum, and this was published in the early two
- 1:04:15thousands, I think, let's see two thousand and six actually, which was
- 1:04:23probably when I first read it, when it first came out. So I
- 1:04:29just wanted to acknowledge this book. Great book. Actually, I really enjoyed
- 1:04:34this. It's really in depth focusing on the career of William James as pertains
- 1:04:43to the period of time when he was investigating life after death. So.
- 1:04:55William James was an American philosopher and psychologist. He was born in eighteen forty
- 1:05:03two. He died in nineteen ten, and he's often regarded as the father
- 1:05:10of American psychology. He was renowned for his work in pragmatism, the philosophy
- 1:05:21of religion, and his contributions to the study of consciousness and human experience.
- 1:05:33The Principles of Psychology was one of James's most influential works that was published in
- 1:05:42eighteen ninety and it's considered a groundbreaking book that laid the foundation for modern psychology.
- 1:05:51It covered a wide range of topics including perception, memory, emotion,
- 1:05:58and consciousness, and it greatly impacted the development of psychology as an empirical science.
- 1:06:12William James was also a key figure in developing the philosophical doctrine of pragmatism,
- 1:06:20which emphasizes the practical consequences of ideas and the importance of experience in shaping
- 1:06:29your beliefs, and this philosophy had a big impact on various fields, including
- 1:06:38psychology and education. Varieties of religious experience this was another book published in nineteen
- 1:06:51oh two, so this was a little bit later towards the end of his
- 1:06:56life. James explored the psychology of religious experiences and discussed the diverse ways individuals
- 1:07:03encounter and interpret spirituality. So he was studying how religion impacts human behavior,
- 1:07:15which is significant because it indicates the kind of mind that inquires into this realm
- 1:07:26of the subconscious behavior, the subliminal functioning of the human mind. And along
- 1:07:34with John Dewey okay of the Dewey decimal system, James played a pivotal role
- 1:07:44in developing what's known as functionalism, which is a theory in psychology that emphasizes
- 1:07:53the adaptive functions of mental processes and behavior, which is also significant because it
- 1:08:02relates to what I was talking about earlier concerning you know, abuse, trauma,
- 1:08:12etc. Leading to the fracturing of the human psyche, the creation of
- 1:08:18alters, the creation of multiple personalities. It's another way of saying it,
- 1:08:25okay, as an adaptive behavior that the mind employs to protect an individual.
- 1:08:33It's a survival mechanism, okay. And then later James did have some interest
- 1:08:44in psychic phenomenon and spiritualism. Now this wasn't his primary focus, and as
- 1:08:50I was doing additional research on this, most of the sources of information try
- 1:08:58to downplay this part of his career when he was looking into psychic phenomenon,
- 1:09:03spirit contact and this sort of thing his life after death research. This is
- 1:09:10where he started to get a lot of criticism from others in his field of
- 1:09:15psychology that he did investigate mediumship and he attended seances to explore the possibility of
- 1:09:27supernatural experiences. He was intrigued by the claims of psychic phenomenon, particularly in
- 1:09:39the case of the Fox Sisters. Now the Fox Sisters Margaret, Kate and
- 1:09:45Leah were claiming to communicate with the spirit world through these rapping sounds and alleged
- 1:09:58spirit messages, and they gained considerable attention in the mid nineteenth century and really
- 1:10:09popularized the spiritualist movement. James was among those who were curious about their abilities.
- 1:10:19Being a scientist and a philosopher, James approached the investigation of medianship with
- 1:10:28a critical mind, but an open mind. He attended seances conducted by the
- 1:10:34Fox Sisters and other mediums and observed their practices and phenomenon. Phantasms of the
- 1:10:46Living was another book that James collaborated on with Frederick W. H. Myers
- 1:10:56and Edmund Gurney to conduct research on paranormal experiences, including cases of mediumship,
- 1:11:06and that was published in eighteen eighty six, and that examined various instances of
- 1:11:14apparitions and telepathic experiences, although it wasn't really exclusively focused on life after death.
- 1:11:27So what about William James's personal beliefs. He maintained an empirical approach to
- 1:11:36his investigations. This is a very scientifically minded person, but he also acknowledged
- 1:11:47the limitations of scientific study in exploring matters related to the afterlife and never did
- 1:11:57find anything concrete as far as evidence for the survival of our consciousness after death,
- 1:12:04he remained open to the possibility of it and he expressed that further research
- 1:12:14needs to be done into these areas. James was actively involved in the American
- 1:12:25Society for Psychical Research the ASPR, which was an organization dedicated to the scientific
- 1:12:33study of psychic and paranormal phenomena. He became a member and supporter of the
- 1:12:45ASPR in the late eighteen hundreds, and he saw the society as a platform
- 1:12:53to investigate and understand psychic phenomenon from a scientific perspective, despite skepticism he would
- 1:13:00receive and the controversy you know surrounding these topics at the time. Richard Hodgson
- 1:13:13was another one of these fellows of William James. He was a British psychologist
- 1:13:21and researcher and they became close friends and collaborators. Also, Hodgson was a
- 1:13:30prominent figure in the ASPR and was also interested in studying mediumship and these alleged
- 1:13:40cases of paranormal abilities. So he would investigate these alleged mediums along with William
- 1:13:48James in collaboration and one of their most notable cases was the case of this
- 1:13:55woman, alleged medium, Leonora Piper. So James and Hodgson both prominent members
- 1:14:05of the Society for Psychical Research the SPR, which was the British counterpart to
- 1:14:14the American Society for Psychical Research. They conducted several investigations into Missus Piper Okay.
- 1:14:28Leonora Piper was an American medium Okay and came to the attention of the
- 1:14:31SPR in the late eighteen eighties because she had developed this reputation for delivering highly
- 1:14:40detailed, specific messages from a parent deceased individuals during these trance states that she
- 1:14:48would enter. So James and Hodgson thought this would be a perfect opportunity to
- 1:15:00study psychic phenomenon, and they did several sittings with Missus Piper Okay seances to
- 1:15:08observe her abilities firsthand. During these sittings, miss Piper would enter a trance
- 1:15:15state and allegedly communicate with spirits, and would often provide personal information and messages
- 1:15:25from deceased individuals to those present. Piper's mediumship was characterized by her apparent ability
- 1:15:36to enter this trance state, during which she claimed to be in communication with
- 1:15:45spirits. So when she's in this trance, she would relay information, often
- 1:15:50in the form of automatic writing or spoken messages, from entities she identified as
- 1:16:00ceased individuals. Now Hodgson and James being of the scientific vantage point here and
- 1:16:12setting out to obtain scientific proof one way or the other, they would cross
- 1:16:20examine the medium during these sittings during these seances to test the accuracy and consistency
- 1:16:30of the messages that they received. So they were trying to rule out the
- 1:16:33possibility of cold reading, which is basically a trick that people used that mediums
- 1:16:45can use by examining a person's body language, their facial expressions, that sort
- 1:16:53of thing. You know, someone sits down and says, you know,
- 1:16:55I want to know my future, you know, and she noticed you kind
- 1:17:00of have a scowl on your face, You're kind of downcast, and so
- 1:17:05you make a proposition that seems to validate their emotional states. So well,
- 1:17:14I get the sense that you've been feeling down lately, you know, and
- 1:17:18sort of lead them along in that way. That's cold reading, okay.
- 1:17:28They sought to rule out, you know, other conventional explanations for the information
- 1:17:33provided by missus Piper, and what was most striking about some of these sessions
- 1:17:44was the apparent validity of the information that Missus Piper relayed. During these sittings,
- 1:17:54she provided details about deceased individuals and their families that were not known to
- 1:17:59the recent or the sitters, and were later confirmed as being accurate. During
- 1:18:08the sittings, Piper exhibited changes in her personality and mannerisms, which she attributed
- 1:18:15to control by various spirits, and these control personalities claimed to be the spirits
- 1:18:21of deceased individuals seeking to communicate through her. So, despite the apparent accuracy
- 1:18:32of some of the information, Piper's mediumship faced a lot of skepticism and criticism
- 1:18:40from other researchers who doubted the authenticity of the phenomenon, and some skeptics suggested
- 1:18:46that the information provided could be explained by chance or fraud. But the research
- 1:18:56continued over several years and the spr maintained a long term interest in her case.
- 1:19:04The researchers continued to document and analyze the messages received during these sittings to
- 1:19:12evaluate the evidence for psychic communication. So James and Hodgson were careful and critical
- 1:19:19in their approach to the investigation of Leonora Piper's mediumship. So what does the
- 1:19:29study, the studies that were conducted by William James, Richard Hodgson and others,
- 1:19:36what does that have to do with modern day ghost hunting ghost hunters?
- 1:19:42Is there a connection? There is there a legacy these you know practices connected?
- 1:19:48Well, Yes, there are some connections, particularly in the field of
- 1:19:56psychical research and the study of paranormal phen come on. While the methods and
- 1:20:01approaches of modern day ghost hunters differ from those of the early psychical researchers,
- 1:20:13there are some underlying themes and interests that connect the two. Okay, Both
- 1:20:17modern ghost hunters and early psychical researchers, including James, obviously share an interest
- 1:20:26in paranormal phenomena phenomena plural you know, apparitions, hauntings, Poulter guys,
- 1:20:39and other alleged supernatural occurrences. Like the early psychical researchers, modern ghost hunters
- 1:20:49are aiming to conduct empirical investigations of these paranormal experiences. The use various tools
- 1:21:00and equipment such as an EMF detector which detects fluctuations in the electromagnetic field,
- 1:21:09digital voice recorders, infrared cameras. Okay, technology there is a focus on
- 1:21:21mediumship. Mediums are perceived as the intercessors between the spirit world or the realm
- 1:21:30of the dead and the living world, and William James and many of his
- 1:21:38contemporaries were interested in exploring the abilities of mediums to communicate with the spirit world.
- 1:21:46In the same light, modern ghost hunters seek to communicate with spirits or
- 1:21:51entities during their investigations and sometimes do employ psychic mediums when they go to investigate
- 1:22:00these haunted locations, et cetera. Okay, there's some very technically minded ghost
- 1:22:09hunting groups and associations that are strictly focused on, you know, what we
- 1:22:15can record with our devices, what can be registered with our sensors, et
- 1:22:20cetera. And then some groups that bring along psychics or sensitives, you know,
- 1:22:27who can sense energies, sense spirits. Sometimes the spirits speak with them
- 1:22:32supposedly. So it depends on the focus of the group. And I would
- 1:22:41say most modern ghost hunters, you know, approach their work with a mix
- 1:22:45of skepticism and open mindedness. But if we're talking about specifically, you know,
- 1:22:54the shows that are on cable TV, you know, History Channel,
- 1:22:57et cetera, we have to acknowledge the entertainment aspect of these programs, and
- 1:23:08a lot of nothing is really hyped up as something, And I mean that's
- 1:23:15my experience watching many many of these shows. But generally speaking, they're trying
- 1:23:23to rule out natural explanations. So every once in a while you have to
- 1:23:30have an episode where you don't catch anything or you find out it was the
- 1:23:34dog or something, just to you know, demonstrate their integrity. There is
- 1:23:42a significant difference that we need to point out, and that's the fact that
- 1:23:47modern ghost hunting is usually conducted outside the academic or scientific setting, so it's
- 1:23:57much easier for skeptics, you know, to shoot down any results or findings
- 1:24:02that they may come across because it's not a super controlled environment. And that's
- 1:24:10really what's frustrating, especially when I'm talking about the shows. There's a lot
- 1:24:15of ghost hunter groups out there that don't have a television show on cable TV,
- 1:24:20and I'm sure they will attest to the fact that they've staked out many
- 1:24:25places overnight and not had anything unusual happen, and then every once in a
- 1:24:30while you have something pretty crazy happen. But when you're producing one of these
- 1:24:35shows, every episode has to have something so it's easier to create something out
- 1:24:42of nothing, overreact to something that could be explained otherwise, and a lot
- 1:24:47of jumping to conclusions. And that's how you put one of these reality show,
- 1:24:51you know, ghost hunting shows together. If there's not jump scares and
- 1:24:57creepy music, then people aren't going to tune in. So that's definitely a
- 1:25:01criticism and a difference between, you know, the types of research. So
- 1:25:11William James did have some criticism from several quarters concerning his inquiries into psychical phenomenon.
- 1:25:23Okay, he got criticism from psychologists and scientists, skeptics, debunkers,
- 1:25:31and also the religious authorities of the time and academics and scholars also. But
- 1:25:44despite his criticism, James was undeterred in his explorations of psychic phenomenon and continued
- 1:25:51to advocate for open minded empirical investigations. So, if you're going to start
- 1:25:59a ghost hunting group, or your ghost hunting group is faltering a little bit,
- 1:26:03you know, going back to the standards set by these guys William James,
- 1:26:09Richard Hodgson and some others, to have a more empirical investigation might yield
- 1:26:19some more insights if you're just out there to go to haunted houses and graveyards
- 1:26:24and haunted museums and old, you know, insane asylums to see if you
- 1:26:30get anything on tape or whatever. I mean, there's a fun approach to
- 1:26:34it. There's a lighthearted approach to it, I guess you could say,
- 1:26:39or there's a rigorous scientific approach. The other approach being trying to help people,
- 1:26:45trying to rid location a home, a business of a haunting, or
- 1:26:54to try and help counsel the family or whatever through it, or resolve any
- 1:26:59sort of background you know, trauma, secrets, you know, abuse that's
- 1:27:04sort of fueling the activity. So are there any Christian ghost hunting groups out
- 1:27:14there? Maybe I didn't look into that, but now I'm curious. I
- 1:27:19do know that there are groups that have employed you know, a demonologist,
- 1:27:25a quote unquote demonologist, an expert on demons or whatever. Okay, and
- 1:27:31we're getting into different territory there, possibly, But if you're a Christian ghost
- 1:27:38hunting group, I would assume you're approaching it from a biblical standpoint, and
- 1:27:45if you're there to help somebody, then it's going to be under the authority
- 1:27:50of Jesus that you're doing so so, and it's real easy, I think,
- 1:27:57to get that muddled when dealing with some of these groups. But if
- 1:28:03that's your motivation helping people, then you need to pray up and have the
- 1:28:12Holy Spirit on your side and realize that what you think might be a ghost,
- 1:28:19some sort of ancestral spirit or something. Okay, they need to respond
- 1:28:25to the authority of Jesus Christ. Anything less than that and you're wandering into
- 1:28:33potentially a dangerous snag. Like I played the clip earlier of the Ghost Brothers.
- 1:28:42Ghost Brothers is a show with three black guys from Atlanta going out and
- 1:28:49ghost hunting, and I like watching it because you know, there's not very
- 1:28:56many African American ghost hunting groups know of and of course it's played up for
- 1:29:02TV and everything, and it's funny and it's entertaining. But they are Christian
- 1:29:10and they at the very end of season two, they encounter Satanist really who
- 1:29:15owns this property that they want to investigate. And I don't know how much
- 1:29:18of that dialogue you were able to make out from the clip at the beginning
- 1:29:24of the show, but one of the members of the crew was like,
- 1:29:27forget that. I ain't dealing with any Satan stuff, and the other two
- 1:29:31dudes were like, well, we do approach this from a Christian background,
- 1:29:36but you know, we're not afraid to kind of jump in the deep end
- 1:29:40here. So and then that was the last show of the season, and
- 1:29:45I think the season that got the show got canceled at that point, and
- 1:29:49then they kind of retooled it a little bit and they have a new series
- 1:29:53out now which I haven't got into yet, but yeah, you could be
- 1:29:58looking at some sort of entrapment, so be careful. Like I mentioned,
- 1:30:08James did have his critics, this one fellow Joseph Gastro, Sorry Joseph Jastro.
- 1:30:15Jastrow. He was a prominent psychologist and a critic of psychical research,
- 1:30:27and he was known for his skepticism towards claims of psychic phenomenon and mediums.
- 1:30:31Jastro argued that many apparent paranormal experiences could be explained by psychological and sensory factors
- 1:30:41rather than communication with spirits. James Hisslop was a colleague and critic of William
- 1:30:51James, and they were both involved in psychical research. However, Hislop's approach
- 1:30:58and views on the subject differed from James's. His Slip was more of a
- 1:31:02proponent of spiritualism and believed in the possibility of communication with the deceased, so
- 1:31:10he's a believer, and he disagreed with some of James's more skeptical views on
- 1:31:15the evidence for psychic phenomenon. And one of the difficulties that researchers face when
- 1:31:28trying to study this sort of thing in a controlled environment, you know,
- 1:31:31in a lab type setting, is sometimes the phenomenon just doesn't present itself as
- 1:31:40well in a controlled environment with all the lights and censors on. And James
- 1:31:48Randy the Debunker, the magician famously would I think at one time he was
- 1:31:56offering a million dollars to any psychic who could prove their abilities in his controlled
- 1:32:03lab setting, and he never had any takers on the challenge. But that's
- 1:32:13more in modern times. Let's go back to James's time period here. Hugo
- 1:32:19Munsterberg, who was a German American psychologist and a philosopher, was also critical
- 1:32:27of psychical research and expressed reservations about the credibility of mediums and the evidence that
- 1:32:35they presented. And he believed that the methods used in psychical investigations were not
- 1:32:43scientifically sound and that the phenomena could be attributed to psychological factors. Also Simon
- 1:32:51Newcom who was a Canadian astronomer and mathematician. He criticized the investigation of psychic
- 1:33:01phenomenon, including mediumship, and his argument was that the evidence presented by mediums
- 1:33:10and psychical researchers was insufficient to warrant serious consideration and that it was more likely
- 1:33:16a product of fraud or self deception. And as we're going to get into,
- 1:33:25fraud had a huge impact on the results of these investigations and the perception
- 1:33:31of spiritualism as a worldview, or at least as the scientific study of psychic
- 1:33:42phenomenon kind of retreated back into the shadows. So are you interested in pursuing
- 1:33:56psychical research as an area of study, as an area of legitimate scientific academic
- 1:34:02research. Well, there's only a handful of universities around the globe that have
- 1:34:09parapsychology programs. The University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. Interesting. Okay,
- 1:34:17Edinburgh is in Scotland and it's a very accult influenced area. They have
- 1:34:27a Museum of Witchcraft in Edinburgh. Interesting coincidence. University of Arizona has a
- 1:34:41Center for the Study of Consciousness and Anomalist Psychology. SOFIA University, formerly known
- 1:34:49as the Institute of trans Personal Psychology, offers programs in trans personal psychology,
- 1:34:58which includes aspects of consciousness studies and parapsychology. I studied well. I took
- 1:35:05a class in high school called trans personal Psychology. I got an a mostly
- 1:35:12because it was easy. University of Northampton that's in the UK has the Center
- 1:35:23for the Study of Anomalous Psychological Processes. So if you're looking at pursuing a
- 1:35:30career in these areas, that might be one of the universities that you want
- 1:35:35to get into. Okay, little sidetrack there, I want to talk about
- 1:35:44the Census of Hallucinations. That's right. These guys were also studying the possibility
- 1:35:49that some of these ghost voices and things they were observing could be hallucinatory.
- 1:35:58The Census of Hallucinations was as a research project conducted by the Society for Psychical
- 1:36:03Research the SPR during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The primary aim
- 1:36:10of this project was to collect and analyze data related to hallucinatory experiences, such
- 1:36:16as sensory perceptions of seeing or hearing something that is not present in reality.
- 1:36:24The Census of Hallucinations was part of the broader efforts of the SPR to investigate
- 1:36:30and understand paranormal and psychic phenomenon and the project sought to gather reports of hallucinations
- 1:36:38from individuals across different demographics and to explore patterns and potential explanations for these experiences.
- 1:36:49And the SPR would encourage people to report their hallucinatory experiences through questionnaires and
- 1:36:57interviews, and participants were asked to provide detailed information about the nature of their
- 1:37:02hallucinations, including sensory modalities involved like sight, hearing, smell, taste,
- 1:37:12I guess five senses, frequency, or any potential triggers or associations triggers.
- 1:37:25Okay, so let's talk about spiritualism, which is what led the psychologists like
- 1:37:32William James to study this psychic phenomenon. Okay. Spiritualism is a belief system
- 1:37:45that involves communication with the spirit world and a belief in life after death.
- 1:37:55And in the mid nineteenth century, the sort of fad or you know,
- 1:38:01viewpoint was burgeoning. It was growing rapidly. So what caused that to happen.
- 1:38:11Was that just a random thing or were there factors that led to that?
- 1:38:15Well, there was factors. Okay, industrialization, We talked a little
- 1:38:19bit about modernization. Okay, nineteenth century, there was a lot of significant
- 1:38:26social and technological change. And during these shifts, you know, people experienced
- 1:38:34a sense of disconnection from their traditions and their spiritual practices, their religious practices,
- 1:38:44and so they were looking for new ways to make sense of their lives
- 1:38:46and new ways to look at the afterlife that were sort of more congruent with
- 1:38:54this emerging sort of materialist, scientific view of the world. Okay. Loss
- 1:39:03and grief, we talked about this. Also. Nineteenth century was one of
- 1:39:11the most bloody in history. Significant societal upheaval, wars, epidemics, high
- 1:39:19mortality rates. Okay, more than likely you knew someone in your immediate family
- 1:39:27who died at a very early age, died tragically, died from some illness.
- 1:39:33Okay, people didn't live very long. The devastating losses experienced by individuals
- 1:39:40and families led to a heightened interest in seeking solace and communication with deceased loved
- 1:39:48ones. Okay, and we're heading into the Victorian era here, which saw
- 1:39:57an intense interest in spirituality and the occult and the afterlife, okay. And
- 1:40:08so people were very receptive to these spiritualist ideas that you can communicate with the
- 1:40:13dead, et cetera. Okay, and people were rejecting religious authority. Spiritualism
- 1:40:23emerged during a time when many individuals were questioning and rejecting the authority of traditional
- 1:40:30religious institutions i e. The Church, and the concept of direct communication with
- 1:40:39spirits appealed to those seeking a more personal and individualized spiritual experience. Okay.
- 1:40:45This is one of the driving factors that led me into the occult. Okay,
- 1:40:51rejection of religious authority. Okay. Mediums were putting on demonstration of their
- 1:41:00abilities, and people were getting curious, and they were gaining followers and believers
- 1:41:06okay, much in the same way as the charismatics were able to demonstrate healing
- 1:41:17powers, you know, the gift of prophecy. It caused people to take
- 1:41:25notice because they're like, here is a person actively involved in their spiritual practice.
- 1:41:31They have an open communication with the realm of spiritual influence, whether we're
- 1:41:39talking the Holy Spirit or not holy spirits. Okay. And incidentally, there
- 1:41:49was a lot of fraud involved in that too, unfortunately, but that doesn't
- 1:41:57delegitimize the fact that there is such a thing as genuine spirit contact. We
- 1:42:03can debate on, you know, whether that's a wise practice or not,
- 1:42:08okay, and how to do that in the framework of being a follower of
- 1:42:14Jesus. Okay. That's what we get into on Fringe Radio Network and Ministry
- 1:42:21X. That's why I'm talking about it, Okay. There were also all
- 1:42:29these scientific and technological advances in the nineteenth century, and people were feeling optimistic
- 1:42:39about the potential for scientific discoveries to unlock the mysteries of life and the afterlife.
- 1:42:49Okay. The media, newspapers were booming and other mass media, and
- 1:42:59this facilitated the dissemination of spiritualist ideas and accounts of paranormal experiences and other you
- 1:43:09know, forty in things. And so these reports of mediumship and seances captured
- 1:43:16the public's imagination, okay, and made the movement's popularity just boom. People
- 1:43:27were reading more books were being published about these things. You had a lot
- 1:43:33of newsletters. Okay. We need to talk about this too. It's mandated
- 1:43:43gender studies, okay, But spiritualism provided women who were often excluded from formal
- 1:43:53religious leadership roles, with an opportunity to be prominent figures as mediums and leaders
- 1:44:00within the spiritualist movement. Okay, and again this idea of the empowerment of
- 1:44:08women that appealed to many women who were seeking alternative forms of spirituality. And
- 1:44:20also there was this desire for evidence of an afterlife. The promise of evidence
- 1:44:27for an afterlife through spirit communication resonated with those seeking reassurance and hope about life
- 1:44:34beyond death. The possibility of continued existence and reunion with departed loved ones offered
- 1:44:43comfort to many. So there were quite a few collaborators and contemporaries of William
- 1:44:59James of significance. Henry Sidgwick was a British philosopher, a psychologist and also
- 1:45:09one of the co founders of the spr in London. And he was known
- 1:45:15for his work on ethics and philosophy. And this is a highly respected guy
- 1:45:20in the academic circles of the time. So William James and Sedgwick they would
- 1:45:28correspond extensively. They discussed a wide range of topics relating to psychology, philosophy
- 1:45:33and psychical research, and they shared an interest in exploring these things, and
- 1:45:45Sedgwick had a big influence on William James and his pragmatic approach to philosophical and
- 1:45:53psychological matters. Sedgwick was an analytical thinker and he was also very open minded,
- 1:46:05and that influenced James's approach to exploring consciousness, religion, and paranormal topics.
- 1:46:16And James admired Sedgwick's commitment to intellectual honesty and his willingness to engage with
- 1:46:24unconventional topics. Another guy, Edmund Gurney, was an English psychologist, a
- 1:46:33researcher, another founding member of the spr and he was particularly interested in psychical
- 1:46:42research and the study of paranormal experiences, including telepathy and mediumship. James and
- 1:46:53Gurney would both collaborate closely with another man named Frederick W. H. Myers
- 1:47:00in their research on psychic phenomenon and they conducted a series of studies into cases
- 1:47:06of apparitions, telepathy, and mediumship. Gurney's work and research on psychical experiences
- 1:47:14and altered states of consciousness influenced James's own exploration of these subjects. So a
- 1:47:21big part of what killed the spiritualist movement or caused it to die off,
- 1:47:28you know, as we head into the nineteen twenties, the nineteen thirties,
- 1:47:31the nineteen forties, you know, the era of the Two World Wars.
- 1:47:40As we find out this would go back underground, its popularity would wane,
- 1:47:46and it would re emerge in the seventies and the eighties as the New Age
- 1:47:51movement retooled redesigned. But one of the things that led to its initial decrease
- 1:48:02in popularity was the Fox Sisters, Margaret Kate and Leah Okay. They publicly
- 1:48:12confessed to hoaxing their seances and producing the rapping sounds that they claimed were communication
- 1:48:19from spirits, and this happened in eighteen eighty eight, more than forty years
- 1:48:27after their initial claims of communicating with the spirit world. And this occurred in
- 1:48:30a series of public appearances and interviews. The Fox Sisters revealed that they had
- 1:48:36used various techniques to create the mysterious rapping noises during their seances, and they
- 1:48:43demonstrated how they could crack their joints and manipulate their toes to produce the distinctive
- 1:48:48sounds that had captivated audiences, so that they were like cracking their knuckles their
- 1:48:55toe knuckles. You know, one crack for yes, two cracks for no.
- 1:49:02And you'll see a lot of ghost hunters do the same thing. They'll
- 1:49:05have a little rem pod, they'll have a little EMF device, and they'll
- 1:49:12say, you know, one signal or one light means yes, two means
- 1:49:15no. Or they won't even make the distinction whatsoever. If the thing lights
- 1:49:19up, that means yeah, that means yes, that's the affirmative. The
- 1:49:29Fox Sister's confession caused a significant stir within the spiritualist movement and the broader public.
- 1:49:35It dealt a blow to the credibility of mediums, and this led to
- 1:49:41increased skepticism about claims of communication with the deceased, because with each passing day,
- 1:49:50you know, the clamp down of industrialism and scientism and materialism is really
- 1:50:00starting to become the dominant worldview. And this affected the church in the same
- 1:50:08way, because pastors and preachers and priests and whole denominations were basically making statements
- 1:50:16as part of their credos that you know, the spiritual gifts died out with
- 1:50:24the apostles, that there are no more gifts of the spirit nowadays, that
- 1:50:32we're not going to see anybody raised from the dead, We're not going to
- 1:50:36see demons cast out. To the point where, you know, Christians forgot
- 1:50:43the spiritual dimension of the Bible, the spiritual reality presented in the Bible,
- 1:50:49and reduced it basically to well that's the way ancient people saw it, but
- 1:50:54now we know better. Okay. That really undercut the faith of a lot
- 1:51:00of Christians and actually resulted in propelling a lot of people out of the Church
- 1:51:06and into the pathways of the occult. Because we need answers to these things.
- 1:51:15We're hardwired spiritual beings. We're made to seek our Creator. So what
- 1:51:29does the Creator have to say about ghosts? What does the Holy Scriptures say
- 1:51:36about ghosts? I want to read a quote from William James before we get
- 1:51:45into some Bible verses here. I confess that at times I have been tempted
- 1:51:56to believe that the Creator has eternally intended this department of nature to remain baffling,
- 1:52:02to prompt our curiosities and hopes and suspicions, all in equal measure,
- 1:52:10so that although ghosts and clairvoyances and rays and messages from spirits are always seeming
- 1:52:17to exist and can never be fully explained away. They also can never be
- 1:52:23susceptible of full corroboration, and the same remains true today in this field of
- 1:52:31research. But surprisingly, you might be surprised that the Bible does give some
- 1:52:43clues as to the nature of ghosts and spirits. And we've been talking about
- 1:52:48mediumship and spirit communication a lot, but we haven't really talked about apparitions,
- 1:52:56sightings of ghostly figures, that sort of thing. So we're gonna get into
- 1:53:01a little bit of that too. That dimension of ghost research, ghost hunting,
- 1:53:12and belief in ghosts does not contradict the Bible. Let's read some verses
- 1:53:19here about ghosts, So open your Bible with me. Job Chapter fourteen is
- 1:53:34a good place to set the stage for this job. Fourteen verse ten.
- 1:53:50But man dieth and wasteth away. Yea man giveth up the ghost, and
- 1:53:58where is he? As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood
- 1:54:03decayeth and drieth up. So man lieth down and riseth not till the heavens
- 1:54:12be no more. They shall not awake nor be raised out of their sleep.
- 1:54:23I'm gonna skip verse thirteen, go to fourteen. If a man dies,
- 1:54:28shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time. Will
- 1:54:31I wait till my change come? Thou shalt call, and I will answer
- 1:54:41thee thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. So this
- 1:54:49seems to indicate, you know, the Hebrew belief that indeed, when you
- 1:54:56die, you remain in the ground, and you shall not wait until the
- 1:55:03change comes, which is the resurrection in the last days or on the last
- 1:55:12day, okay, when the heaven and the earth is transformed, and we're
- 1:55:15transformed, okay, and not before then. So this indicates we're in some
- 1:55:25sort of state. We're in some sort of sleep state. Obviously our body
- 1:55:30is in the grave in shield, but our spirit is in some sort of
- 1:55:35sleep state until the end. And so I don't really buy into this notion
- 1:55:47that spirits can get trapped here on earth and they get confused and they don't
- 1:55:53know how to find their way to the light, or they don't know how
- 1:55:56to get to heaven or whatever, and we need to help them, you
- 1:55:59know, pray that they find their way to heaven. And this sort of
- 1:56:01thing. I think, under certain circumstances, God can allow the consciousness of
- 1:56:10a deceased person to become active, Okay, and maybe that's, you know,
- 1:56:18manifested in these sort of ethereal forms, these wispy forms that we can
- 1:56:24barely make out, okay, because they're communicating across a dimensional boundary, across
- 1:56:30that veil of death. But it's not going to happen unless it's God's providence
- 1:56:43that it happens. And there's lots of verses in the Bible that use the
- 1:56:47phrase give up the ghost, give up the ghost. So obviously ancient people,
- 1:56:53the Hebrews, the people of the Middle East, understood that the spirit
- 1:57:00inside a person was separate from the physical body. Okay. In the New
- 1:57:10Testament, this is where Jesus walks on the water Matthew, chapter fourteen,
- 1:57:16verse twenty two, and I'm reading out of the Borean Study Bible. Immediately
- 1:57:27Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to
- 1:57:31the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. After he had sent them
- 1:57:35away, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening
- 1:57:41came, he was there alone, but the boat was already far from land,
- 1:57:45buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. During the fourth
- 1:57:50watch of the night, Jesus went out to them walking on the sea.
- 1:57:57When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. It's
- 1:58:00a ghost, they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus spoke
- 1:58:06up at once, Take courage, it is I do not be afraid,
- 1:58:15okay. And then Peter walks out to Jesus and starts to sink because he
- 1:58:21starts getting afraid. It's a storm, the waves are crazy in the wind.
- 1:58:30But of course Jesus saves Peter from sinking. So the disciples recognized what
- 1:58:44a ghost was, what a spirit was. Obviously in their mind, it's
- 1:58:49impossible for a man to walk on the water. This must be some kind
- 1:58:54of spirit or some sort of ghost, something that's not physical but resembles a
- 1:59:00person in the form of a person, an apparition. But it turns out
- 1:59:08it was Jesus after all. No, those are just a couple verses.
- 1:59:21Let's go back to the Old Testament, and this is I've spoken of this
- 1:59:27before. When Saul goes to see the Witch of Endor and consults with a
- 1:59:36medium and asks her to call up Samuel from the dead. Now in the
- 1:59:48medium sees this spirit form coming up or assembling materializing. She says, I
- 2:00:03see a spirit, I see a god. I see an alohem. The
- 2:00:12Hebrew word is alohem, which means spirit. Spirit. It doesn't mean that
- 2:00:21Samuel was a god. Samuel was a prophet who was dead. But again,
- 2:00:32this is at God's will that this happens. It's not because the medium
- 2:00:41had any special powers or because God was particularly happy with Saul. It's because
- 2:00:50God wanted to use this opportunity to teach Saul a lesson, so he allowed
- 2:00:57Samuel to be called up. Samuel's spirit essence Samuel's consciousness, which momentarily takes
- 2:01:09a physical form, something that you can see with your eyes. Okay,
- 2:01:16And this sort of connection also ties back into the alien phenomenon. We might
- 2:01:25be dealing with spiritual entities, but they can take a physical form if it
- 2:01:31suits their purposes. The key difference is not so much the physical form versus
- 2:01:39some sort of form that is, you know, pure energy or consciousness or
- 2:01:45spirit or whatever. How do we define that? Well, the key is
- 2:01:47that they live in a different place. They live in a different dimension.
- 2:01:53Their home is a different dimension, just like the angels. Their home their
- 2:01:58first estate was the heavens. There has to be some sort of conversion that
- 2:02:06takes place in order for them to be perceived in our physical realm. So
- 2:02:15they either know some kind of magic or technology to do that. And I'm
- 2:02:20talking about aliens again. Of course I got to tie it back into aliens
- 2:02:25or it wouldn't be ministry X. So to wrap this up, I want
- 2:02:30to address one more thing, and that's the phenomena of orbs. I got
- 2:02:36an email asking about orbs and what my thoughts were about orbs. And I
- 2:02:43always get questions about orbs. Even before I did this podcast, I used
- 2:02:49to be moderator on this message board called Spiritual Insights. This is a long
- 2:02:56time ago. I doubt that it's still there, but people would constantly send
- 2:03:02me pictures, photographs with orbs, and they'd ask me, you know,
- 2:03:10is this are these spirits? See all these orbs in this picture, And
- 2:03:14if you zoom in on the little orb there, you can see a little
- 2:03:17face, and this one's this one's green, and this one's blue, so
- 2:03:25that means this one's angry and this one, you know, et cetera,
- 2:03:30et cetera. And I constantly had to be like, look, this is
- 2:03:33a picture of dust. These are dust particles, in front of the camera
- 2:03:39that are being you know, highlighted by the flash or whatever. Literally,
- 2:03:44someone sent me a picture of like a dance recital, like a barn dance
- 2:03:48or something. People up on a wooden stage on a on a dirt floor,
- 2:03:55people stomping around and dancing, and there's orbs everywhere, and they're like,
- 2:04:00oh my god, this place is totally haunted. Look at all those
- 2:04:03orbs. And I'm like, lady, it's dust. Okay, let's not
- 2:04:10get carried away. And I eventually got kicked off the message board because this
- 2:04:18was a message board for believers, and I was debunking all their photographs,
- 2:04:26and eventually that started just making people get irritated because they just wanted to believe
- 2:04:32that there were ghosts and orbs and spirits in their photographs. Now that being
- 2:04:38said, I've seen some legitimate what appears to be legitimate spirit photography. I
- 2:04:45did capture something in a picture of me and my wife, my former wife,
- 2:04:51years ago. It was an unexplained streak in the photograph. But that
- 2:05:00being said, sometimes these can also be bugs and stuff. I would say
- 2:05:05probably ninety percent of the time that's what you're looking at. If you're doing
- 2:05:10you know, this sort of photographic analysis. Very few ghost hunters just snap
- 2:05:16pictures anymore these days. It's very high tech. But I have seen legitimate,
- 2:05:25what I believe to be legitimate spirit photography. But as far as the
- 2:05:31orbs go, I think they're a legitimate thing. I think it can be
- 2:05:35some sort of spirit energy or something. And you also hear reports of orbs
- 2:05:41in association with you guessed it, UFOs, alien abductions, bigfoot orbs.
- 2:05:51So maybe orbs are kind of a state of energy or matter that's not completely
- 2:06:00taken on a physical form, or it's sort of in that transitional process.
- 2:06:06I don't know. That's all very speculative, So don't send me any orb
- 2:06:15photographs unless you've really really kind of ruled out some of the ordinary explanations.
- 2:06:21Then I'll take a look at it. Or you got a ghost photo or
- 2:06:25something, I'll definitely look at that. I'm interested in that. Ministry x
- 2:06:30at ProtonMail dot com. Send me your ghost stories, your creepy tales,
- 2:06:35all that stuff too, which I do still find very interesting. But I'm
- 2:06:45gonna have to wrap it up there. We're over the two hour mark,
- 2:06:47and I still got some news to get into. So let's take a quick
- 2:06:50break. You've been listening to Ministry X on Fringe Radio Network. I will
- 2:06:57not be covering the congresstional UFO hearings in this segment of the news. I'm
- 2:07:05going to dedicate an entire episode to that forthcoming. All this went down when
- 2:07:12I was on vacation in Florida, so I didn't have time to really analyze
- 2:07:15it, although I have watched the entire two and a half hour hearing testimony,
- 2:07:25and I'm going to break it down for you because I'm sure you've heard
- 2:07:28all the other opinions about it. What's your opinion? Send me an email
- 2:07:34and maybe I'll comment on that. If you have any questions about the congressional
- 2:07:39hearings or the UFO topic in general or disclosure, and we can address those
- 2:07:45questions on our next episode. Yeah, well, daniel X missing the big
- 2:08:13UFO hearings hearings in Congress and the guy saying yes we have alien spacecraft,
- 2:08:24yes, yes we have alien bodies. Yes, hello world, and daniel
- 2:08:30X is not covering that. Dude, that would get your ass. I
- 2:08:31can put that other episode on the shelf. I'm ready to do an episode
- 2:08:37on it, like seriously. Oh my god, have you heard that whole
- 2:08:41thing? I was there, I watched the whole thing live. Oh my
- 2:08:43god, disclosure, dude, this is disclosure right there. Oh my god,
- 2:08:48I believe it. I was like, what happy dude gets happening?
- 2:08:54Aliots on Wow, and daniel X isn't covering it? What's wrong? What
- 2:09:01is this picture? Well? I do have some news for you, and
- 2:09:45some of it is UFO related. World Economic Forum contributor says Ai could rewrite
- 2:09:52the Bible and create correct quote unquote religions. Okay, quote unquote correct religions.
- 2:10:09I had to correct my quotations quote unquote. I was beginning. I
- 2:10:18was trying to trigger it. I wasn't sure if you guys still played that
- 2:10:20one. This is from CBN CBN dot com. Now I must mention that
- 2:10:35this article, and uh, the original article has been retracted. This thing
- 2:10:41has been fact checked. Okay, because the fact checked is ridiculous, because
- 2:10:50it's saying all the things that you've all. Noah Harari commented on like he
- 2:10:58was actually endorsing that. So some headlines had given the impression the wording that
- 2:11:07Harari himself was proposing that this be done or advocating for it. He wasn't
- 2:11:16really advocating for it, but he did say it was possible and implied that
- 2:11:20it would be a good thing. So this is by Steve Warren CBN.
- 2:11:26Let me just read. Okay. Concerns about the potential misuse of artificial intelligence
- 2:11:33AI are escalating yet again after a prominent professor and philosopher said he believes AI
- 2:11:41could write a new Bible within just a few years. You've all. Noah
- 2:11:46Harari, known for being a contributor and speaker at the World Economic Forum,
- 2:11:54is promoting the idea that basically he like Klaus Schwab's little toady Okay, he's
- 2:12:05promoting the idea that AI will be able to generate a new, globally acceptable
- 2:12:11religious book. Harari's prediction is raising alarms for Conservatives and Christians, since the
- 2:12:20Bible is considered sacred as God's holy word to mankind. Correct, but HARARII
- 2:12:30likes to focus on Christianity in particular when he talks about rewriting these holy books,
- 2:12:35you know, so that AI can kind of they're the AI fact check
- 2:12:39Bible or whatever, you know. He never mentions though, the Quran or
- 2:12:48you know, the Bogda Vita or you know these other holy books, you
- 2:12:56know, just the Bible. Quote, it's the first technology ever that can
- 2:13:05create new ideas. Not convinced of that. You know, the printing press,
- 2:13:11radio, television, they broadcast, they spread the ideas created by the
- 2:13:16human brain, by the human mind, he said. Harari said AI will
- 2:13:24soon be able to invent new concepts and beliefs that are more socially acceptable than
- 2:13:31the Bible. AI can create new ideas. It can even write a new
- 2:13:37Bible, he said, in order to establish unified and quote unquote correct religions.
- 2:13:46Quote throughout history, religions dreamt about having a book written by a superhuman
- 2:13:52intelligence, by a non human entity unquote. Urrari explained, now believes AI
- 2:14:01will become a new type of God. And this isn't the only time he's
- 2:14:05made comments like this. Okay, so these comments, these most recent comments
- 2:14:11were during a forum called AI and the Future of Humanity. So what did
- 2:14:26he actually say? That's what I want to know. I want to I
- 2:14:31want to hear the quote AI can create new ideas, can even write a
- 2:14:41new Bible. We you know, throughout history, religions dreamt about having a
- 2:14:48book written by a superhuman intelligence, by a non human entity. Oh,
- 2:14:54every religion claims our book. All the other books of the other religions they
- 2:14:58humans wrote them. But our book. No, no, no, no,
- 2:15:00no, it came from some superhuman intelligence. In a few years,
- 2:15:05there might be religions that are actually correct that. Just think about a religion
- 2:15:11whose holy book is written by an AI. That could be a reality in
- 2:15:18a few years. Yeah. So those were his actual comments at this forum.
- 2:15:24But he's made other similar statements, and I've assembled some here for you.
- 2:15:31So I think this article from CBN and the others, for the most
- 2:15:37part, made a pretty good summation of his overall outlook towards religion. Christianity
- 2:15:46in particular, not the intelligent design of some god above the clouds, but
- 2:15:52our intelligent design. We are really upgrading humans into gods. We are requiring
- 2:15:58points of the power to re engineer you life. I mean, all this
- 2:16:01story about Jesus rising from the dead and being the son of God, this
- 2:16:05is fake news. Yeah, so basically satanism, because Satanism is not the
- 2:16:13worship of Satan. It is the worship of man as God. That's a
- 2:16:22key distinction. And Christians need to understand that. Uh yeah, so let
- 2:16:31me go back to the article. But this is not just a prediction for
- 2:16:37Harari. His past comments indicate he has animosity towards God's word. Yeah,
- 2:16:48that's clear. A few years ago, Harari wrote a commentary in The Globe
- 2:16:54and Male mocking the Bible, saying, quote, centuries ago, millions of
- 2:16:58Christians locked themselves inside a self reinforcing mythological bubble, never daring to question the
- 2:17:07factual veracity of the Bible. Well that's not true, and he totally discounting
- 2:17:16the like over three hundred Bible prophecies that Jesus fulfilled. So he says the
- 2:17:28Bible is just fiction and compares it to fictional novels like Harry Potter. Quote
- 2:17:37billions of people have believed in these stories for thousands of years. Some fake
- 2:17:41news lasts forever. Unquote, Harari wrote, quote I am aware that many
- 2:17:48people might be upset by my equating religion with fake news. Yeah, that's
- 2:17:56not meant to be like inflammatory or anything, but that's exactly the point.
- 2:18:01When one thousand people believe some made up story for one month, that's fake
- 2:18:05news. When a billion people believe it for a thousand years, that's a
- 2:18:11religion, and we are admonished not to call it fake news in order not
- 2:18:18to hurt the feelings of the faithful or incur their wrath. I think this
- 2:18:26guy's got it backwards, right. Could AI be used for good too?
- 2:18:33Well, of course I'm not going to continue the article, but yes,
- 2:18:39actually the article does go on to describe ways that Christians can utilize AI to
- 2:18:48spread the Gospel, and you know, depending on how we use it could
- 2:18:56be a very powerful tool and advises people to monitor, advises believers, especially
- 2:19:05to monitor who's behind the controls of the AI. And I agree, let's
- 2:19:16move on to our next story. Though I don't want to keep you here
- 2:19:18too long. I'm trying to stay current with the news here. Avi Lobe
- 2:19:26is back in the news. And yeah, my apologies on this episode getting
- 2:19:37out so late. I was in the state of Florida on vacation Malachandra.
- 2:19:50I just started reading the Space Trilogy C. S. Lewis, and I
- 2:19:56just watched the Jesus Revolution movie with Kelsey Grammer. So yeah, I'm a
- 2:20:05little behind. That's old news and this is a few weeks old now.
- 2:20:11But this is the headline from Business Insider, A Harvard astrophysicist believes he may
- 2:20:22have discovered pieces of alien technology from a meteor that landed off the coast of
- 2:20:28Papua New Guinea in twenty fourteen. Papua New Guinea during a search for the
- 2:20:39media known as I Am One Avi, Loeb said his team found ten tiny
- 2:20:45spheres mainly made out of iron. Quote when you look at them through a
- 2:20:50microscope, they look very distinct from the background on quote, Loeb told CBS
- 2:20:56News Boston. Quote they have of gold, blue, brown, and some
- 2:21:01of them resemble a miniature of the Earth. The fact that it was made
- 2:21:09of materials tougher than even iron meteorites and moving faster than ninety five percent of
- 2:21:16all stars in the vicinity of the Sun suggested potentially it could be a spacecraft
- 2:21:22from another civilization or some technological gadget. Loebe's team worked with the government to
- 2:21:31establish a ten kilometer range within which the meteor could have landed. They then
- 2:21:37traveled to and searched that area on a boat called the Silver Star. They
- 2:21:45used magnets to comb the seabed and found the ten spherules. Did I say
- 2:21:50that right? Sphe sphericles? You know what I mean? He believed could
- 2:21:58be alien tact Well, why not? The US Space Command said it was
- 2:22:03ninety nine point nine nine nine percent certain that the fragments came from another Solar
- 2:22:09system per CBS. Okay, even if they came from another solar system,
- 2:22:15that doesn't mean anything. Lobe compared the situation to the NASA Voyager spacecraft.
- 2:22:24Quote, they will exit the Solar System in ten thousand years. Just imagine
- 2:22:30them colliding with another planet far away a billion years from now, he said,
- 2:22:35quote, they would appear as a meteor. Unquote. It will take
- 2:22:41us tens of thousands of years to exit our Solar system with our current spacecraft
- 2:22:46to another star our current space would you say, bro, The astrophysicist added,
- 2:22:58this material you'll spend that time arriving to us, but it's already here.
- 2:23:05Lobe, known as the quote alien hunter of Harvard unquote, according to
- 2:23:11The Independent, is a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and
- 2:23:16Technology and leads the Galileo Project, which searches for physical examples of aliens and
- 2:23:24their tech. So probably not finding a lot of alien tech. So let's
- 2:23:33just suggest that these iron spherules are alien tech because they have very you know,
- 2:23:46uncommon characteristics. So Avi Lobe was the guy that suggested that the Muamua,
- 2:24:03this large foreign object that entered our Solar system was like an alien mothership
- 2:24:18or could be. You got to listen to the language very carefully because of
- 2:24:26the fact that the angle that it entered the Solar System in, because of
- 2:24:31the length in comparison to the width, that seemed very unlike ordinary objects in
- 2:24:43space, planetoids, asteroids, you know. And it departed from our Solar
- 2:24:50system very rapidly as if they just you know, engaged warp one and also
- 2:25:00very unusual behavior for a natural heavenly body, I guess supposedly according to Lobe,
- 2:25:09and they tracked this thing. Okay, so we've got some anomalies,
- 2:25:13but we're very eager to jump to the etch alien hypothesis. And I hate
- 2:25:24to say it, but I feel like my next episode, when I get
- 2:25:28into this disclosure the congressional hearing, I'm going to disappoint some people with some
- 2:25:39of my conclusions, So prepare yourself for that. There's a lot more to
- 2:25:45this article, but basically that's my conclusion, Like, let's not jump to
- 2:25:50alien conclusions, you know, because people are eager to jump on this.
- 2:26:00All right, one more story and I'll get you out of here before the
- 2:26:05two thirty mark. This is from an N one American newsha n N dot
- 2:26:16com. John of God, Oprah's faith healer, faces a three hundred and
- 2:26:22seventy year prison sentence. So John of God was arrested, I think back
- 2:26:28in twenty seventeen, and he's been in prison. So they've just found him
- 2:26:35guilty of more stuff and added ninety nine more years to this guy's sentence while
- 2:26:43he's already in prison. The Brazilian self identified spiritual healer, who rose to
- 2:26:50fame after appearing on an episode of Oprah Winfrey Show. The Oprah Winfrey Show,
- 2:26:58went on trial for rape and sexual abuse. During the trial, he
- 2:27:03received more years behind bars. Numerous women have accused Jao Texaria de Paria,
- 2:27:11sometimes known as John of God. Okay, this is Portuguese. This is
- 2:27:20in Brazil, of assaulting them sexually while they were receiving spiritual counseling and treatment.
- 2:27:28This led to police finally making his arrest in December of twenty eighteen.
- 2:27:33When he was first convicted, all of his multiple sentences were added up and
- 2:27:39his time behind bars resulted in two hundred and seventy years and four months.
- 2:27:45After almost five years since his arrest, John of God was found guilty on
- 2:27:50Monday and charged with an additional sentence of ninety nine years. This brought up
- 2:27:54his prison time to three hundred and seventy years, nine months, fifteen days.
- 2:28:01Faria's fame began when he opened a clinic called Casa de Dome Ignacio de
- 2:28:07Loyola in the late nineteen seventies in Brazil. In this clinic, he provided
- 2:28:16a variety of services, from spiritual healing to what seemed to be surgical procedures
- 2:28:22without anesthesia. He claimed to his clients that he had supernatural powers, although
- 2:28:30he did not have a medical license or any related training. He performed treatments
- 2:28:35like nasal probing, body incisions, ice scrapings without anesthesia. His clinic developed
- 2:28:46into a popular destination for tourists, making a sizeable profit from add on offerings
- 2:28:52like crystal bed treatments, blessed water, and herbal supplements. These pills,
- 2:29:01which were eventually discovered to be passionflower herbs, generated him and estimated forty million
- 2:29:09in income per year on their own. In twenty ten, Oprah Winfrey,
- 2:29:15who is well known for her powerful platform, once devoted an episode of her
- 2:29:20show to John of God, extending his influence and endorsing him in the eyes
- 2:29:24of her millions of followers. Yeah, she really hyped this guy up.
- 2:29:28If you remember. His reputation as a trusted spiritual leader was further solidified by
- 2:29:39Winfrey's twenty twelve trip to Brazil to record an episode of Oprah's Next Chapter.
- 2:29:46So, remember when Oprah Wimfrey started this girls' school in I think it was
- 2:29:54South Africa, and and that school was riddled with like sexual abuse scandals.
- 2:30:11And if you look at Oprah is a very mysterious character as well. I
- 2:30:16mean, she seems innocuous enough, but she's actually right at the forefront of
- 2:30:26sort of this blending of Christianity and New Age for a lot of you know,
- 2:30:35middle aged women. I suppose I used to call her Popra, but
- 2:30:43I think she's into some dark stuff. But that's just alleged. That's just
- 2:30:50you know, I don't know, just seems weird. Anyways, I got
- 2:30:56to end it there. Oh, I'm over the mark. Just a little
- 2:30:58out true music and we'll be done. I want to thank you for listening.
