What happened
AlterNet reports that the Trump administration wants to pursue tax charges against people accused of profiting from fraud, even as its own staffing and budget decisions have weakened the agencies needed to bring those cases. Justice Department fraud official Colin McDonald said investigators had identified dozens of cases involving an alleged combined $490 million in attempted fraud against the government.
