2:35
of stuff to get to this morning. There's some things in the news.
2:38
I gotta try try to stay away from news on Friday if I can,
2:42
but there's been some some things that I gotta cover, including They'll get Kaylee
2:46
Young, who was on this show two days ago, took to X last
2:51
night saying that it is a time to for President Biden to step aside,
2:58
and I'm going to talk about that a little bit, a little bit later.
3:00
Plus, last night was the final night of the Republican National Convention.
3:05
Donald Trump spoke for seven days. He's still speaking. I think as as
3:10
I speak, he's still speaking. I think, Uh, what we're going
3:13
to talk is I said about several things. Today. We get Hannah Gardner
3:15
standing by, but I have a guest with me. I'm kind of co
3:19
host of me today, my good friend Morgan Robinson. How are you?
3:21
I'm will How are you? Yeah? I'm doing well. You're you're all
3:24
excited about being here, right, I'm excited to be here. I'm very
3:27
impressed the fact that I don't think you took a breath during that entire opening.
3:31
Well, if you consider deep sea diving, I think you'd be great
3:34
at it. Only at buffets, and it's only place you're ever going to
3:37
see me. Yeah, let's go to Hannah Gardner with our adopt me please
3:43
pedal the week. Hannah, good morning, welcome to the show. Hello,
3:46
are you doing to find? Morgan Robinson is with me? I think
3:49
you know Morgan you well, Morgan was on the show before Hannah, so
3:53
so earlier and she's also a big animal person too, animal person. And
4:00
all three of our dogs are rescue from the CANA Charleston Humane Association. We
4:04
call them the rat Pack with affection because their combined weight is forty two pounds
4:11
of all three of them. Really yes, yes, yeah, they think
4:15
they're pibbles, but they are chuaha mixes. So yeah, loudest house and
4:19
cross legs handah. Before I get to our pad of the week, and
4:24
as always picture we post it is posted now Dave Allen Radio on Facebook and
4:28
the Dave v. Allen Show at Dave Somebody on x the artist formerly known
4:30
as Twitter. I want to talk about this tattoo event that you had in
4:34
Tayese Valley this week. Talk about that. Yeah, so I believe that
4:40
they're stretching it throughout the weekend. However, yesterday when we were there,
4:44
we had the caravan out there, some puppies, we had two adoptions,
4:47
and then the tax Foo shop itself. They had people that were in line.
4:53
I think at one point they had a four hour weight like, there
4:56
was a lot of people there. They had like thank maybe like the for
5:00
seven pages of names on a list, so they definitely did great on their
5:04
part and as well as our part as well, So it was just an
5:08
all around great day and explain to the listeners exactly what they were doing there,
5:11
what the special of the special hook was there. Yeah, so they
5:16
were doing forty dollars flash tattoos and it was kind of like a benefit that
5:23
helps KCHA. So we were also there yesterday. We're not going to be
5:28
there, I don't think throughout the rest of the time, however, I'm
5:31
sure we will stop in here and there, and we will probably bring probably
5:36
a lot of our staff members there as well, so that way they can
5:40
get in on the awesome deal that they're doing there as well. So definitely
5:43
stop out there and get your tattoo and help support KCHA at the same time.
5:46
And it's on tes Valley Road, right, yes, it is.
5:50
It is on T's Valley Road and it's right there in the little shop.
5:55
We also posted it on our Facebook page as well yesterday. It is Night
6:00
Tattoo and we are very very thankful for them. They were very very nice
6:03
and helpful. Yesterday as well. I got a text here for you from
6:08
my good friend Johnny Rutherford from Metro nine one one who said Metro nine to
6:12
one one adopted a dog from them. We love Pip. He's a therapy
6:15
dog for this therapy dog for dispatchers. That's amazing, and they need one
6:19
with that tough job. Oh my gosh, how cool is that him?
6:24
That is awesome. I actually love to Pip myself. I really want to
6:28
Tip on my own. So I love that they still have my love that
6:30
he is doing great there, and I've also heard great things about him as
6:35
well, So I'm just very happy that he went so good and very helpful
6:40
area. And that's what we're hoping to do today for our Dog of the
6:44
week, Tordellini. Tordellini is the dog's name. I don't even when I
6:48
first started doing this segment, I would ask why where did that name come
6:51
from? And when you have the volume of animals that they have up there,
6:55
you don't have an opportunity to say, you know how you know they're
7:00
just looking at it out of the sky. Yeah, you know. But
7:02
Tordellini is a beautiful, beautiful dog. Give us the lowdown on Tourdellini.
7:06
Hannah, All right, well, she is actually really, really really sweet.
7:12
I love her so much. She's been in the back office with me
7:15
for a few days. But she's about two years old. She is fixed
7:19
already, and she does have a sponsored adoption fee, so if you are
7:25
interested in her, you can definitely come out look at her, meet her,
7:28
take her on a walk. You could take her for a doggy day
7:30
out if you need to. You could even foster her for a few days
7:33
and see if it works in your home. However, I will vouch that
7:38
she is a very good girl. She prefers calmer dog so dogs that aren't
7:43
super hyperactive. However, she is pretty playful herself, wants to get the
7:46
toys out and stuff because she definitely loves the suff speaky toys. But she
7:53
does walk well on the leash. She's very very easy going on it,
7:57
and we consider her a social butterfly just because she does love everybody that walks
8:03
in the doors. She has kind of a little shay looking at first.
8:07
She definitely miss you for a second, but she is super sweet. I
8:13
mean, she opens up to you rather quickly and she's just a good all
8:16
around dog in my opinion. But she is in playgroups and like I said,
8:22
she is fine with the other dog. She just preferres calmer dogs as
8:26
she is kind of calmer herself. Like I said, she just really plays
8:31
with the toys and stuff and she absolutely loves playing it with you. So
8:35
throw a toy in the yard and she will be the dog for you.
8:39
And she's pretty good with kids too, right, Yeah, So from what
8:43
we know, and I always say this every single time, and I will
8:46
always continue to say, but even if we have noticed that they're good with
8:50
kids, we always advise caution. We always tell everybody, you know,
8:54
it's good to keep teach your kids boundaries as well. It is to keep
8:58
teach the dog bound. But in our character has been good with kids and
9:03
she I honestly believe she would be the greatest family dogs. Love it,
9:09
beautiful dog. And again I've got the picture posted on Dave Allen Radio on
9:13
Facebook and The Day Valan Show on Twitter x. The Day Valin Show on
9:18
five vide Live is brought to you a part by Hustands Pizza. This month,
9:20
at your favorite Hussan's, order any regularly priced large eighteen inch pizza and
9:24
get a two liter pepsi at no additional charge. You folks at the at
9:28
the Humane Association are now kind of undergoing what's known as capacity crisis. It's
9:35
a crisis right now with the amount of animals that you have their hand to
9:37
talk about that. Yeah, so we have been kind of at capacity for
9:43
a while now. We have just been managing and we've been doing our best
9:48
to be able to still take in any straight animal that comes in, as
9:52
well as helping any stick and injured ones. We've been doing the best that
9:58
we can. However, to the point, it's just so much that we
10:03
are looking for spaces to put dogs really, so it's just a lot right
10:07
now, and ways that you could help is adopting, of course, is
10:11
always the biggest way to help. So if you do have that extra space
10:16
in your home, if you have, even if it's not permanently, but
10:20
it's temporarily, because you can foster. We have a lot of dogs that
10:24
would go very well in a foster program. So even for a night,
10:28
a weekend, a week it kind of just gets from the break from the
10:31
shelter life, and it also improves like their mental health as well from what
10:35
we have noticed, and it's less thans their stress that even come back to
10:39
the shelter. A lot of people think that it would just stress them out
10:41
even more, and you know there are some dogs that it does, but
10:46
most of the dogs when you take them out, it actually we learn more
10:48
about them. You learn more about them, they get their name out there
10:52
if you post them on your own, and it also just helps them for
10:56
the chance of an adoption and a lot of that. Earlier this week when
11:01
the power went out, it looks like the community really stepped up, was
11:03
able to take over some of the dogs since it was so hot. Can
11:07
you talk more about that. Yes, we are, of course always very
11:11
appreciative of the community. They always seem to step up whenever we are in
11:16
urgent need, and they've already been stepping up during our time through this capacity
11:22
crisis that we're having, So we definitely have had quite a few people fostering
11:26
already. But it is very tough and the situation that we're in now because
11:31
we are adopting out a good bit as well as fostering a good bit,
11:35
and we are still taking in a good bit. So that's why I think
11:37
that we kind of have cut back to sicken, injured and takes only at
11:41
the moment for dogs, So I know that we have. Of course,
11:46
we would usually be able to house a little bit more without the whole uhault
11:50
situation that we had. But I think right now we have like one hundred
11:54
and twenty one or a little more maybe dogs in our care in the facility
12:01
right now, of course, we have a little bit more. I think
12:03
we have over three hundred forum animals total. That's in the shelter and in
12:07
foster home. So again, the community always helped out and we are very
12:11
thankful for them. And they still did an amazing, amazing thing during that
12:16
power outage as well. We loved that and we're very appreciative of that.
12:20
Well, we're impressed with you and we are always here to support you.
12:24
Thank you so much, Hannah from the Canal Charleston Humane Association. We love
12:28
talking to you every Friday and love featuring those dogs of the week, including
12:31
miss Tordalini this week. All right, Hannah, we'll talk to you next
12:35
week. I appreciate it. Thanks a lot. Thank you Toordellini. Morgan
12:41
two years old, already Spade. All the vaccines are up to date,
12:45
sweetest most well behaved girl around everybody, kid friendly, walks well on the
12:50
leash, prefers calmer dogs. And I didn't know if you know this reference,
12:56
but when I first saw when Hannah sent me the picture. Anna sends
12:58
me the picture like midnight. Yeah, I didn't see that. I saw
13:01
it like at five point thirty this morning. But I saw the first thing
13:03
I thought was if you put a ring around that dog's eye, that's Pete.
13:09
It's Peedy from the Little Rascal book. It's exactly pd And she was
13:13
exactly right. She just looks like a good family dog, a dog that
13:16
you can be having a cookout in the backyard, throw the toys, the
13:20
kids are enjoying it, and she's just a sweet, sweet girl that needs
13:22
a loving home. And you can again go over to my social media and
13:26
take a look at Tordellini and let's get Tordellini adopted. Let's have Tordellini Friday.
13:31
That's on. We're gonna have Jim Strawn, who may or may not
13:35

17:19
Great. Good to see you. Morgan. Thanks Dave. I'm sorry
17:22
I'm messing up your show, but nonetheless it is that's my job. See
17:26
yes, No I right. Season twenty, Week number eight of the Moses
17:29
Auto Group Live on the Levee should be a fantastic night down there. It's
17:33
week number eight. We've had some great music all summer long. Tonight will
17:37
be no different. At six thirty taking center stage on the show and bomb
17:41
stage, we'll be Brenna and the Boys, a little cosmic Appalachian artist from
17:45
here in Appalachian in West Virginia. She'll sing and play for about an hour.
17:48
Then at seven point thirty Jocelyn and the Sweet Compression out of Lexington,
17:52
Kentucky. So we have a little Appalachian flavor tonight, but it's Appalachia mixed
17:56
in with some R and B and some rock and folk and just a lot
18:00
of fun, very talented. We also do this for fun, but we
18:06
do it for a cause. Liv A Levey's great fun for a great cause.
18:08
We help those five inner city charities each and every Friday night. We've
18:12
raised one hundred and twenty three thousand dollars to last nineteen plus seasons with our

18:22
Sojourner Shelter in Canall Valley a collective. It's again been a wonderful summer.
18:29
We hope that you guys will come down. You mentioned it. I'm
18:30
going to sneak out of here. But not only is you know Moses.
18:33
Every night every Friday is the Moses Auto Group Night. And I want to

WWK Tonight, it's also going to be Bridge Valley and Community Technical night,
18:48
and it's going to be B one hundred night, our sister station here,
18:51
and it's going to be a Deco night. A Deco has been one of
18:53
our major sponsors all year. New to the Levee, new to the Charleston
18:57
area. So I've got some folks here. I'm going to sneak out Morgan
19:00
and Dave so I can keep the show going by not breaking everything. You've
19:07
a computer? Is it gone? I have no texts? It's still gone.
19:11
Yeah, So I'll text you privately. I'll get that number out privately.
19:15
Let's all that. Good to see you, so good to see Dave.
19:19
I know it was good to see me. It's gonna it's be great
19:22
to see leave. And I want to turn it over to my mic.
19:26
All right, the rest of the show. Thank you so much. Jim
19:30
works out to you tonight on the levee. Safe travels today as you travel
19:33
with the Senator now, Miss Shelley, as we are still making waves in
19:37
the studio, Love you. Jim. Tell us a little bit about why
19:41
DECRA finds it important to support community events like Live on the Levee. That
19:47
first of all, thank you for having me. My name is Shelly,
19:48
Gilligan and I'm an on site manager here for a DECO, and we felt
19:53
that it was important to become a gold level sponsor this year because we just
19:57
reopened our branch Low caterd at six zero two Virginia Street, Suite one hundred
20:03
and one after several years of being closed after the pandemic, and we've reopened
20:08
that branch. We wanted to get back into the community, make sure that
20:11
we are visible to all of our associates and our customers. What is a
20:15
DECO? I have asked that question. You haven't asked that question. A
20:18
great question. So a DECO is the leading global staffing solutions provider. Okay,
20:26
all right? And what kind of work? I mean, I understand
20:30
what you're saying about what you do as far as staffing, but for what
20:33
kinds of jobs? What kinds of services? We work with a variety of
20:37
customers right now, we're looking for several entry level positions in light industrial production
20:45
work, clerical, administrative, and professional, so you really work with both
20:49
sides. If you're interested in finding a job, you can help out,
20:52
but if you're also looking to fill positions in your own organization, they can
20:56
work with you to do that right, that's correct, Morgan, that's exactly
20:59
what we do. We we work with both employers and job seekers. And
21:03
how the world did you get hooked up with Jim Strown? Do you have
21:07
any IT people, because apparently after Hurricane Strawn just rolled through this, we're
21:12
gonna have to have IT people in here now. We definitely have some IT
21:15
people that can help you eaving to borrow that. Yes, but his reference
21:19
to Borned China Shop is exactly on point. Yeah, with how you met
21:25
him. He rolled into a deco just like that. Yeah, So what
21:27
we decided to do was, once we decided to be a gold sponsor for
21:32
Live on the Levee, we connected with Jim and he's really helped facilitate us,
21:37
you know, getting our name out and coming back into the community.
21:40
That's wonderful. Well, we're excited to have you. Are you all going
21:42
to be on site tonight giving more information about your services? Yep, that's
21:48
we are. We're going to be at Live on the Levee in the not
21:52
in the concourse, but down on the main stage with our mobile job van.
21:55
We're going to have a variety of people there. We can take customer
21:59
requis if anybody would like to come down and learn a little bit more about
22:02
a DECO from a customer standpoint and what they're looking for. And then we're
22:06
also going to be able to take mobile applications on site at the levee.
22:10
We also have some great giveaways planned, so we encourage to come down.
22:15
Swag. Talk about that. Yeah, we got all kinds of swag at
22:18
the van tonight. We're gonna have some water bottles, some light up wristlets.
22:21
Oh yeah, some fans we'll need them. Yeah, we're gonna need
22:25
them. So we're gonna have all kinds of very cool giveaways. All right,
22:27
Well, we appreciate you being here. Where can people learn more about
22:32
your company? Again? You're a deco of sponsoring Live on the Levy.
22:34
Give us a website, you get social media? What do you get?
22:37
So, of course we have social media, but our website is adco dot
22:41
com. Our local office number here is three zero four three four five eight
22:47
three six seven, and we can be You can come in person to our
22:51
office at six zero one Virginia Street, Suite one zero one, brand new
22:56
office. Come down and see us or join you tonight at Live on the
22:59
Level. You're to have the mobile van down there, get people signed up
23:02
and grab some free swag while you're at it. That's right, all right,
23:04
Well, we appreciate you being here and appreciate Jim leaving because we still
23:10
have no computer for me to take text on because of Jim Strawn. Just
23:14
so you just say, if you're listening, Jim Bow, just so you
23:17
know, we cannot take text now because of you. So, Dave and
23:19
I want to make it very clear that a DECO had no part in this.
23:22
I was watching the whole time. You're completely innocent. That's correct.
23:26
This was a one man operation. Now, you see the interesting thing about
23:29
this is and I was telling them Morgan this in a couple of months,
23:32
and I mentioned this on the air before. We're totally transforming every studio in
23:36
this building. And so this show is actually going to be viewed on the
23:40
Metro News TV platform. So you're actually going to be able to go on
23:44
just if you watch, If if you ever check out Hoppykachful and talk Line,
23:47
that's what it's going to be like on this show. Oh if we
23:49
only had Morgan those cameras today Imus today. Yeah, Well, and honestly,
23:55
we have Jim to think he's already starting with the demolition. That's good
24:00
and that's how Jim would spind it because he's a PR guy. Hey,
24:03
two p's in the same PR pod. I got you, Jim. Don't
24:04
worry, wait and just wait and see later today if we don't see on
24:07
social media or somewhere. Jim Strawn begins studio demolition at WCHS Radio in kind.
24:15
We appreciate you being here, Thanks a lot. Thank you very much
24:18
for having us. We appreciate it, and please come out and see us
24:19
at live on the level. We'll see it live on the levity tonight.
24:22
Thanks a lot. In the heart of West Virginia, there exists a profound
24:25
force that goes beyond the realm of sports, transcending limitations and fostering the sense
24:30
of belonging. Special Olympics. I'm talking about a remarkable initiative showcase of the
24:33
latest episodes of West Virginia, enriched in collaboration with Huntington, stands as a

testament to the power of determination, unity and unwavering support. Seet video highlighting

24:49
the Tony the Taylor text. But what you're gonna have to do if you
24:52
want to text the show is you're going to have to Well, you can't
24:55
even go to see Tony the Taylor because he's close for vacation. Yeah,
24:57
we've really cut off all lines the communication here. We're on an island to
25:03
ourselves. It's like nineteen eighty seven again. You can hear us, but
25:06
we can't hear you. Well, eighty eight is the year I started radio.
25:08
So Ryan, if you could just go upstairs and get me a couple
25:11
turntables and a couple of cart machines and a reel to reel and I'll be
25:14
good to go here for it. Yeah. Yeah, that's all. I
25:15
learned how to spice radio in college. Give me the little razorblade and the
25:19
tape, and I'm here to do it. And Ryan's probably thinking, what
25:22
are you people talking about? I think I just grew a new gray hair,
25:26
Morgan. I want to spend a little time talking to you this morning
25:30
because we get Joe Gear from The Dirty Birds coming up a little bit later
25:32
on, and also we're going to talk about the water days event, lad
25:34
Lee Field. But that voice you've been hearing throughout the morning is my co
25:37
host this morning, Morgan Robinson. What's Morgan Robinson been up too lately?
25:41
Listen. I've been traveling this beautiful state of ours, the beautiful Mountain state.
25:45
So I have my company focused marketing company, and we've been doing a
25:48
lot of presenting and facilitating throughout the state and I'm talking from the Panhandle to
25:52
the coal fields and everywhere in between, working with some amazing groups in the
25:57
state of West Virginia on improving communication, improving their leadership styles, getting the
26:03
name out about their companies and organizations, and just having a great time through
26:07
it. Though I've been able to watch as the Cheat River lowers every day
26:11
with this drought that we've had, which is crazy crazy, So hoping and
26:15
praying for some rain for everybody, especially up in the Panhandle area that's been
26:21
so so dry as of late. But having a great time. Excited to
26:23
have Jill on with us this morning. I'm working with the Dirty Birds on
26:27
the Woman Making a Difference night that's going to be taking place next week.
26:30
Just getting out and going everywhere, enjoying this beautiful weather that we're having I
26:37
say that with sarcasm since it's been hotter than the face of the sun.
26:41
But yeah, having a great time. And on a personal note, I'll
26:42
say that my twenty year old twins are in from WVU, so we have
26:48
been enjoying having the kids back in the house again. And can we give
26:52
a big shout out to Ryan Nicholson. Yes, Ryan the man, the
26:56
myth, the legend that just came in and got us back into the twenty
26:57
first century. Well, not quite there. I'm gonna have to see.
27:02
I'll have to do a couple of things to get there. But we're getting
27:03
close. We're gonna cloth We're closer than than what we were, all right.

27:30
from the Encove Insurance Studios and the Dale Millerbilding to Morgantown. We talked about
27:34
it and mentioned it earlier in the show. Delegate Kayla Young of Kanaw County,
27:40
who was just on the show a couple of days ago. Delegate Young
27:42
announcing on social media last night that it is time for President Biden to step
27:48
aside as the presumptive Democratic nominating and that has created quite a stir And let
27:55
me get to the actual statement here from Kaylee Young. It says, twenty
28:00
twenty four election will define the future of American democracy. I cannot stand idly
28:03
by without voicing my concern that the National Democratic Party is on the wrong path.
28:10
President Biden is a true public servant and the sacrifices he has made for
28:12
our nation are deeply appreciated. However, it is time for change. Our
28:17
nation and democracy require it. I urged the President to take advantage of this
28:22
window of time prior to the Democratic National Convention to withdraw from the presidential race
28:26
and to allow new energetic leadership to take the range through a robust convention process
28:33
with no shortcuts. West Virginians and Americans are not satisfied with the status quo.
28:37
Nor should they be our generation and beyond to deserve a country that works
28:41
for us and listens to our voice and isn't politically motivated, but motivated to
28:44
put our country in communities first. The Democratic nominee must have the confidence of
28:48
the American people to face the challenges that our nation faces. Now is the
28:52
time for change. And Morgan, I told you I was not going to
28:56
have you talk about politics because that's said to that. I don't want to
29:00
hurt your I don't want hurt your your real job. So but it was
29:03
interesting, you would say, very especially considering that Kayla Young is a delegate
29:07
to the National Convention. Absolutely, I saw it come through last night,
29:10
and I have to say I'm very proud of Kayla for putting it out there.
29:12
She knew it was going to be opening a can of worms, essentially
29:15
getting that feedback. But I think that Kayla is a delegate that listens to
29:19
her constituents, speaks to her mind, and does so with education, research
29:23
and insights. So proud of her for stepping up to the plate and making
29:27
that statement. It's uh, it took uh, it took a lot to
29:32
do that. It took a lot to do. It took go out of
29:33
gus. Why couldn't she do it when she was on my show two days
29:36
again? For now, no man, but she is going to be on
29:40
with Hopey coming up at ten thirty this morning. Can further explain that.
29:42
I look forward to tuning into that because I know that she has more information.
29:45
Kayla does everything with a lot of preparations, so I know she's sought
29:49
this through and excited to hear more about what led to her making that statement.

33:36
Here. We have the lovely Jill Garon from the Charleston Dirty Birds in
33:38
the studio with us today. We've got some exciting things coming up overall for
33:43
the Dirty Birds, but I really want to focus on one that's happening,
33:45
especially event that's happening next Thursday, women making a difference night, stepping up
33:51
to the plate. Give us the rundown on what that's going to look like.
33:53
Absolutely, So that is this Thursday, So the twenty fifth of July,
33:59
that's gonna be our final game of the homestand so little last push for
34:02
us, and we are going to be highlighting women in the community. So
34:07
there's a lot of different things going on that day. But the big thing
34:09
is this is a community center, right. We want to have women come
34:14
to the ballpark, women and girls where they feel empowered. They get these
34:17
resources to learn more about self esteem, learn more about teamwork and connecting and
34:22
have a great time at the ballpark and more than even a huge help with
34:25
all of it. But the big thing that we're doing is a pregame panel,
34:30
so you'll be facilitating it all, be on the panel with a few
34:32
other amazing women from the community in West Virginia, and we're inviting young girls
34:37
to come and listen to this panel. Again, it's about teamwork, about
34:42
self esteem which we all know is a difficult thing for young girls right now.
34:45
I can't even imagine having to deal with it now like how I did
34:49
ten years ago, So we're really really excited about it. A ticket gets
34:52
you into for the panel and for the baseball game. Yep. Everything kicks
34:55
off at five point fifteen, I believe, with the panel and we have
34:59
some amazing guests, including Charleston City council person Becky Separately, who's going to
35:04
be doing our introduction. They wonderful Lindsay McIntosh, Jamie Tradico, and Jessica
35:09
Hudson from Dress for Success are all going to be joining Jill on this empowerment
35:14
panel with concluding marks from Mayor Amy Goodwin. So lots of fun going on
35:19
prior to the game. And during the game, you guys are doing a
35:22
special initiative to represent some unsung heroes. Tell me more about that exactly.
35:25
So that's going to be our All Star nomination team. So if you guys
35:28
have come to the ballpark, you see kids run out onto the field for
35:31
the national anthem. Right where we're doing this a little bit different where we
35:35
ask for nominations on Facebook on Instagram of people who do amazing things in the
35:40
community but maybe don't get the recognition that they deserve. So we have I
35:45
believe it's now seventeen people who are going to be honored pregame there and it's
35:49
not people, it's women, it's young girls to all different ages, all
35:52
different backgrounds. They are going to be honored before the game and make sure
35:55
that they get the recognition that they deserve. So this is really just an
35:59
empowering night for women of all ages. Come in, learn more about self
36:02
confidence, leadership, self esteem, teamwork, healthy living. We have this
36:07
great panel, we have amazing sheros if you will, that are going to
36:12
be taking the field and you get a ballgame right exactly. And so this
36:15
is actually what's really cool. A lot of people don't know this is that
36:17
week is Women and Girls in Baseball Week, so that is kind of where
36:22
the big tie in is. Obviously, with me being a female in sports,
36:24
being the only female broadcaster in the Atlantic League as well, really important
36:30
to me that we have this kind of event, and I'm so happy that
36:32
The Dirty Birds ran with it and we're making it a big deal exactly.
36:36
This is the second year for the event. It's getting bigger every year.
36:38
There's an amazing committee of volunteers that are working on this event to make it
36:42
happen, and we do have some tickets available. So if you work with
36:45
girls and athletics, if you have an organization that supports female empowerment or the
36:51
empowerment of young women, reach out to Jill at the Dirty Birds. You
36:53
can reach out to me Morgan Robinson, find me on Facebook and we'll work
36:57
out a way to get tickets in the hands of those girls needed the most,
37:00
to really get them geared up and ready to be the empowering leaders that
37:05
we know they're going to be. Yeah, two points to that. We're
37:07
so so happy to have these sponsors who want to bring these young girls and
37:12
women to the ballpark to make sure that they feel empowered and have a great
37:15
time. But also how you mentioned we have a panel of volunteers who have
37:19
been helping create this. This isn't just the Dirty Birds doing this. It's
37:21
truly a community event where we bring other people in and we ask their opinion
37:24
and say what else can we do and for example you Morgan. So it's
37:29
been really fun and I have enjoyed every second of getting this event together.
37:32
Well, we love the Dirty Birds and everything they do for the community.
37:36
That you also have African American Heritage Night coming up, so really a wonderful
37:38
community partner. Tons of ways for you to get involved once again. That
37:43
game is taking place this coming Thursday, July twenty fifth. Gates open at
37:46
five o'clock. That empowerment panel starts at five point fifteen. And I don't
37:51
want to neglect to mention this because Nina Pascinetti will find me and hunt me
37:53
down. But the amazing women of the cast of Legally Blonde from the Charleston
37:58
Light Opera Gil will be saying our national anthem. So truly, from arts
38:02
to entertainment, to recreation to health and fitness, we have everything covered,
38:07
I think for this Women Making a Difference Night at the Dirty Birds. Definitely.
38:10
I think we do. And if there's something missing, let us know
38:13
and you can come on out. Wonderful, all right, I want to
38:15
talk some on field stuff. I want to talk about this weekend at the
38:20
ballpark. We'll go back to I want. I'll get all the dates and
38:22
information on the other things, but this weekend, because the Birds have been
38:27
on the road and then not see this right, a couple of nights that
38:29
they scored what how many it is? Twenty six runs? Twenty six runs?
38:32
They want there there was a lot of records broken where frankly, to
38:37
be able to list them all, I would need to turn my phone back
38:39
on to people get it. So the big one is twenty six to two
38:43
was the score. That is the largest margin of victory in Atlantic League history,
38:47
not just by the Dirty Birds, all teams and Rustbrostrata, who is
38:51
our main starting catcher. He had four home runs in one game, which
38:53
is a new league record. I don't know much about sports of ball,
38:57
but that all sounds very impressive. That is very very I was going to
39:00
jump in there, and I don't want to. I was man explaining it,
39:02
but I was gonna take I was going to jump in there and say
39:06
that's a lot of runs. That's a lot more for baseball. That's the
39:08
hook there. That was a football score, you know, twenty six not
39:13
Nope, that's baseball. Yep. So what's going on this weekend? Well,
39:16
the burg are back tonight, Yeah, because you've been on the road
39:19
pretty much all week and that's like Gastonia, Gastonia tonight, Lexington, who
39:24
we just had that massive one against. So if you want to see a
39:27
lot of runs scored, come out next week. But today is our Christmas
39:30
in July, so you know, we have our Light the Night event coming
39:34
up for this upcoming year. We're gonna have more information about that soon,
39:37
but we're kind of just kicking it off with some baseball. So we have
39:39
a Hawaiian shirt giveaway today for the first one thousand fans, say you how
39:44
many people? I wasn't sure about the first one thousand fans get a Hawaiian
39:45
shirt, Yes, exactly. And we on Saturday, I always have our
39:50
Mega West fireworks. It's going to be our second annual Pepperoni Role Festival as
39:53
well. Now you have Ryan's attention. As soon as she said that Pepperoni
39:59
Roll Saturday, come on I think the gates are opening at three o'clock for
40:01
that, so make sure that you over to our Facebook page for more introment.
40:05
So what is going to go on there? So we are going to
40:07
have local restaurants and they have a festival, so it's going to be a
40:12
tasting. Some of our Dirty Birds staff is going to be joining in on
40:15
the cooking as well, so you can calm and taste and make your vote
40:17
and we will see who the winner is this year. I feel like Jeremy
40:21
Taylor is always the one that's trying to get in there and do competition cooking,
40:25
him and him and Jay, and I feel that Jay Silverman is probably
40:30
there doing competition eating. Yes, absolutely, Jay is the one who kind
40:32
of heads this, so of course he does. But yeah, he's going
40:37
to be a part of it. And I know our office manager Andrea is
40:40
going to be a part of the cooking as well. That's exciting. Is
40:44
there a Pepperoni role eating contest? I hope not because those are gross,
40:46
I don't think so. Okay, I have not heard that. I'm very
40:50
glad. No, those those make those make me icky. Yeah, I
40:52
don't like that. Gives me the eck for real. But yeah, that's
40:55
exciting. So a lot's going on this week, and like you said,
40:59
Friday, which forms in July, that's tonight, we got tomorrow the Pepperoni
41:01
Role, and then next week on Thursday, women making a different Night at
41:06
the Ballpark. So if you are a mom of a young woman or a
41:08
young girl, or you want to just feel empowered yourself, come on out
41:12
five o'clock gates open, five fifteen Empowerment Panel, and we want to get
41:15
tickets in the hands of those girls that need it the most. And I
41:19
want to say also, the All Star nominations that we've had again it ranges
41:22
from a nine year old girl to a working mom to a stay at home
41:27
mom. Where again, we aren't talking about these amazing CEOs or the first
41:30
ever female mayor first ever female broadcaster. We're not just talking about that.
41:34
We're talking about moms at home who are making a difference in their daughter's lives.
41:38
This isn't just this big title that we're talking about. We're talking about
41:44
quote unquote normal, amazing women. Yeah, because those stay at home moms
41:49
that are able to do that day I could day out without their hair flying
41:52
out, those are definitely heroes. In my eyes, I could definitely not
41:54
do that either. Well, Jill, thank you so much. So many
41:57

Chris Tatum is going to be on the show on Monday. And you know,
45:19
I love a good hot dog, but if you're listening earlier this week
45:22
Wednesday, I think I can't have them anymore. So I had to kind
45:24
of had to kind of step away from the hot dogs. Yes, just
45:27
for a little while, just for a little while, just take a littleparently
45:30
on. Apparently I'm dying, so that's what. That's what. Yeah,
45:34
Yeah, some of us more than others, so I'll be kind of doing
45:36
a little bit better. But Jayce Silverman, who we mentioned earlierst made quite
45:39
a name for himself with the Have Fun West Virginia series of videos, and
45:44
he was hanging with the governor last week and got a proclamation from the governor.
45:49
Jay Silverman is going to join us on Monday, now, Tomorrow and
45:52
Sunday. Lately, Field and Charleston is about to be transformed into a giant
45:54
water park for Water Days, and we have Janas Starr Sar, Sar,
46:00
I thought you said Star. I'm sorry. Star. Janis the Star is
46:05
on the show today to talk about Jannis. Good morning, Good morning.
46:08
I'm glad to be here, guys. This is the exciting promoting water Days.
46:13
Now, what exactly is water Days? Water Days is gonna be a
46:15
two day event. It starts Saturday at ten thirty, I believe, and
46:21
we're gonna have over forty attractions. You can even climb a rock wall and
46:25
then celebrate by getting wet, so from wet slides to dunk tanks, to
46:34
water balloon fights and water gun fights. There's gonna be a lot of fun.
46:37
I think I saw a phone party. A phone party. Yes,
46:40
we will have our phone party there. That's exciting. And it's at Laidleyfield.
46:44
It's at Laileyfield. It's two days. It goes from ten until six
46:49
and then on Sunday it's noon until six. It's a small fee ten dollars
46:54
all day play from tots to adults and again parents you can bring the kids
46:59
out there and it's ten bucks. But once you get inside everything I mean
47:04
pretty much. I don't want to say everything because you might have some concessions.
47:06
Or something like that going on. But as far as the activities go,
47:08
everything's free. When you get anything that's inflatable or Quantum party rentals is
47:13
free. And give us an idea of some of those inflatables that you've got.
47:17
Well, we have some huge water slides. I'm talking thirty five feet
47:22
tall, sixty feet long. We have slipping slides triple A and slipping slides
47:30
that run anywhere to fifty to sixty feet. We've got, like I said,
47:34
the water gun battles. We have a splash pool for the little tiny
47:37
ones. We'll have a play zone for little tiny kids. We're even gonna
47:42
have some mechanical things there, like the eurobungee and the rock wall. We
47:47
will have a petting zoo there. Now the petting zoo will be a fee
47:52
to feed the animals, but it's it's free to look and free to pet.
47:55
Like I said, ten dollars all day play for each the This whole
48:00
idea come from who said, one day, you know what would be a
48:02
really cool idea, Let's turn Ladley Field into a giant swimming pool. Well,
48:06
you know I have to give key days to Aaron Wood. He's the
48:09
owner of Quantum party one, and this man, I don't think he I
48:13
think when he sleeps he dreams of new things to do, so it's always
48:16
going to be something new that we get involved in. We had the Easter
48:20
egg hunt, we have water days, we have rid fast, we have
48:22
so many things that needs are all kind of the combination of what he thinks
48:28
of in his spare time. See. I like to say that Aaron's just
48:30
a big kid, so he thinks about all the things that he wants to
48:34
do and then he makes it happen. So I love that this is for
48:37
all ages. Absolutely. I think the weather this weekend is going to be
48:39
perfect. It's going to be hot enough to enjoy it, but not so
48:43
hot that you feel like you're being assaulted by the sun when you walk out
48:45
the door. Exactly. That's why I tell people, bring your beach out,
48:47
bring your launch chair, Yeah, lounge chair and relax. Why the
48:52
kids play. That's a good point. I wanted to bring up, what
48:54
should people. I mean, lawn chairs are okay to bring in, Yeah,
49:00
lounge share, bring and lounge chair, bring beach toils, bring sunscreen
49:02
of course, And I think pretty much that's it. Ladleyfield will be providing
49:09
drinks. We will have concessions, so will ladley Field. If all the
49:14
cotton candy, flushies, you name it, we'll have the concessions. I
49:20
think it's great because I remember when my kids were a little you get to
49:22
this point in the middle of July where you're starting to run out of things
49:24
for them to do. They're starting to get a little bit antsy. You
49:28
can't wait for school to start. So this is a great way to take
49:30
the kids on Saturday and Sunday, wear them out, take them home,
49:35
put them to bed, and you can enjoy the rest of the evening well.
49:37
And the whole point is to make it affordable for everyone. So many
49:42
children don't get this opportunity to spend in an entire day for as little as
49:45
ten bucks, and they can come in and play and have such a good
49:49
time. Aaron's all about kids, he really is. So when he comes
49:53
up with these ideas, and I'm the sales director, I sell the concept
49:59
thanks to Morgan's ho but I'm telling you it always balloons into some successful events
50:05
that we do. I mean, I'm I'm really kind of and I'm going
50:07
to be there tomorrow because all of our stations are going to be there.
50:10
I'll be there representing the Mountain. Ninety eight seven Chapel is going to be
50:15
there from KWS. Stephen Jenny Are I think one of them is. I'm
50:20
not sure which one. J Jenny's going to be there. And then on
50:22
Sunday what he Woods is going to be there from the beach. Yeah.
50:28
We will be a party, a wet and wild party. So once again
50:31
this Saturday and Sunday Water Days at Laidley Field. As you said, Saturday
50:36
is ten to six, Sunday six, only ten dollars gets you into play
50:42
all day for the entire duration. We've got foam party, inflatables, water
50:46
slide, water gun battles, petting zoo. I feel like the list just
50:51
keeps going on and all and I think we need to remember too that adults
50:53
like to have fun too. Yeah, so if you weigh less than two
50:57
hundred pounds, which is a mix that we have from our infiable companies,
51:00
you can enjoy the inflatables. Wait shaming, wait shaming, but go ahead,
51:05
I'm kidding. I'm kidding ahead. What I interrupted you, Well,
51:07
we just have our inflatables have a limit and it's under two hundred or under.
51:13
But you know, some teens are pretty big dudes. So you know,
51:15
if you're less than two hundred pounds, you can get on the inflatables
51:20
as well. There you go. I'm here for it. I was going
51:22
to say, I'm pretty sure that you're under that pressure. I think I
51:24
can. Yeah, I think I can be under. But for Morgan is
51:28
a hype requirement. I'm never tall enough to the right. And the information
51:37
is available, I know it's all over our social media, of all of
51:38
our radio stations. Where can people find out more? Literally quantum part of
51:43
party rentals website, Facebook page, just google water Days and Charleston, West
51:50
Virginia, and you're going to see all kinds of media come up. All
51:53
right, we appreciate you being here, thinks a lot. We'll see you
51:57
tomorrow and Sunday. I'll be there tomorrow, Texas. Dear Dave, your
52:00
co host is currently beating you at words spoken per minute, which I'm sure
52:04
is killing you. I sure feel sorry for missus Dave this weekend, as
52:07
I'm sure she won't be able to shut you up. She's been trying to
52:09
shut me up for thirty some odd years now, so it's probably not gonna
52:13
happen. Janas, thanks a lot for being here, Thanks to all of
52:15
our guests. Thanks to Ryan Nicholson for putting the studio back together when Jim
52:17
Strown broke it earlier. Ryan is the man. Morgan, I appreciate you
