In most cases, contact with a liquid is required in order to make food susceptible to tumah (even if the food has since dried off). This is called הכשר, preparation for becoming tameh. In this shiur, we’ll examine why this is the case, as well as how this fits into subtleties of where we seem to care about tumah of food today, such as urchatz at the seder.
