- 0:24Speaker 1: It is time believe your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:28Speaker 1: us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with Trey
- 0:32Speaker 1: Trenholm and Raj Sharma. Jerry cauld will be along shortly.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I have to admit something that's fairly embarrassing. My brain
- 0:45Speaker 1: tricked me today, trick me good and hard.
- 0:51Speaker 2: How's that.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I read a headline and I tricked myself into thinking
- 1:04Speaker 1: it was something other than it was. Okay, so I'm
- 1:08Speaker 1: going to read this headline to you, and then I'll
- 1:10Speaker 1: tell you how I misinterpreted it. A cheating scandal has
- 1:16Speaker 1: rocked the World Stone Skimming Championships. That headline tricked me
- 1:23Speaker 1: because I thought it meant a cheating scandal between contestants,
- 1:30Speaker 1: like they were cheating on their spouses with one another
- 1:34Speaker 1: and in collusion to fix the World Rock Skimming Championships.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I was wrong.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It was less nefarious as far as personal matters, more
- 1:47Speaker 1: of a competitive cheating scandal because some of the competitives.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Some of the competitors were found to be using suspiciously
- 1:55Speaker 1: circular stones, and you're supposed to use natural ones. None
- 1:59Speaker 1: of this has anything to do with anybody's spouses. As
- 2:02Speaker 1: far as I know, This is how social media algorithms
- 2:06Speaker 1: can mess with your brain. It's been showing me too
- 2:11Speaker 1: much relationship ye stuff, and I've I started looking too
- 2:16Speaker 1: deep into a matter.
- 2:19Speaker 2: And it tricked me. So that's where I am.
- 2:23Speaker 3: And how long have white people been doing this sport?
- 2:28Speaker 4: It's an excellent question. I didn't even know the answer
- 2:30Speaker 4: to that one.
- 2:32Speaker 2: And further record, that's not white bashing.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You're not saying it's bad that, you're not saying it's dumb.
- 2:41Speaker 1: And honestly, it's just stereotyping, good old fashioned stereotyping.
- 2:45Speaker 2: That's okay, you know.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Honestly, is it white?
- 2:48Speaker 4: Because it doesn't seem stupid enough to be just a
- 2:50Speaker 4: white only sport.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Oh, it's white skydiving, it's white.
- 2:55Speaker 5: Mountain climbing.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Mountain climbing is white skydiving. I think is kind of
- 3:00Speaker 3: if you don't have a fear of heights. I think
- 3:02Speaker 3: it's kind of open to everybody.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yeah, but have you seen some of the videos where
- 3:05Speaker 4: they take like a trampoline up between yes, two hot
- 3:10Speaker 4: air balloons. You know, I I've that just reeks of
- 3:14Speaker 4: of Anglo.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I don't think that's I don't think that's
- 3:18Speaker 1: ever been a black guy idea.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like they had a TV show on called
- 3:22Speaker 3: Extreme Ironing. It was on for one season. I don't
- 3:24Speaker 3: know if you ever saw it, and it's people like
- 3:26Speaker 3: that would iron like on the side of a speedboat,
- 3:29Speaker 3: and I was like every episode, I'm like, here's the
- 3:31Speaker 3: whitest people in the world.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Sometimes, though, you can get that wrong, because if I
- 3:39Speaker 1: told you that there is a competitive bed making championship,
- 3:43Speaker 1: would you assume.
- 3:44Speaker 2: That's white people? Nope? Who would you assume that is?
- 3:49Speaker 3: I would go Former Housekeeping, like fifteen year to twenty
- 3:55Speaker 3: year veteran, Hispanic male, Ok, maybe Hispanic female.
- 4:00Speaker 1: They might have a few, so they might have a
- 4:02Speaker 1: few competitors. I don't know, but the Competitive bed Making
- 4:05Speaker 1: Championships was loaded with Asian.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Asian Oh Asian people too.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I can see that as well. And I
- 4:11Speaker 2: tell you what, man, you want to see how to
- 4:13Speaker 2: make a fricking bed? My god?
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yeah, and that includes putting the comforter in the duvet
- 4:20Speaker 1: cover with the buttons.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Oh wow, I was I've seen a lot of.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Things online that will blow my mind, but seeing someone
- 4:28Speaker 1: fill a duvet cover with a down comforter in seconds
- 4:32Speaker 1: every single time mind blown.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Yeah, when they when they do the when housekeeping comes
- 4:36Speaker 3: in here and they do my bed, it takes I
- 4:39Speaker 3: mean all of about three minutes and they're done, like
- 4:43Speaker 3: it's fantastic, Like it takes it takes them longer to
- 4:47Speaker 3: do like the bathroom stuff. Yeah, and it does for
- 4:49Speaker 3: the bet because they have that. It's down to a science.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And I've stood there, just just stood there with the
- 4:54Speaker 3: dog and just watch. I was like, look, I touched
- 4:56Speaker 3: my dog. I was like, you need to watch this.
- 4:59Speaker 2: This is a ma. You're trying to tell your puppy
- 5:01Speaker 2: you don't know how good you have it.
- 5:04Speaker 3: That's exactly right.
- 5:06Speaker 1: So anyway, the World Stone Skimming Championships were recently rocked
- 5:10Speaker 1: by a cheating scandal. Not cheating spouses that were competitors
- 5:14Speaker 1: or anything like that, now, just the actual rocks they
- 5:17Speaker 1: were using. Some competitors were found to be using suspiciously
- 5:21Speaker 1: circular stones. Here in the States, we typically refer to
- 5:26Speaker 1: it as stone skipping, but I guess across the pond
- 5:31Speaker 1: they call it stone Skimming Championships. According to the competition's rules,
- 5:36Speaker 1: stones must come from naturally occurring island slate and fit
- 5:41Speaker 1: through a device called the ring.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Of Truth.
- 5:47Speaker 2: To ensure they are the right size.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now, it's pretty impressive that a
- 5:53Speaker 1: predominantly white sport would be brave enough to have any
- 5:56Speaker 1: item called the Ring of Truth to ensure they're the
- 5:59Speaker 1: right size. By the way, the Ring of Truth allows
- 6:05Speaker 1: for stones no bigger than three inches in diameter. So
- 6:08Speaker 1: maybe another reason why this is such a popular sport
- 6:11Speaker 1: among the whites.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I don't want to know how they measured the wrongs
- 6:20Speaker 3: with stones to find someone with four inches four inches.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I mean, but imagine the trash talking would just be legendary.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I skip with the stones from stone Hinge.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Their performance enhancing rocks.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yes, sorry, it was a competition hosted by the Rock.
- 6:48Speaker 2: That would be amazing. That's a beautiful branding opportunity.
- 6:53Speaker 1: The Rock Skimming Championships organizer said that when the offenders
- 6:56Speaker 1: were caught, they held their hands up and ultimately apologized.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They were eventually disqualified. He did say there was a
- 7:05Speaker 1: little bit of stone doctoring. They shaped it so that
- 7:08Speaker 1: it was perfectly circular and fitted our three inch measurer.
- 7:12Speaker 1: The problem was we didn't just notice at the time
- 7:15Speaker 1: that they were using suspiciously circular The event was held
- 7:21Speaker 1: in Scotland. It was actually eventually won by an American
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yay Go America named Jonathan Jennings. He managed to skip
- 7:34Speaker 1: his stones for a total of how many feet do
- 7:38Speaker 1: you think? How many feet do you think? American Jonathan
- 7:41Speaker 1: Jennings skipped a rock to become the world champion in
- 7:46Speaker 1: World rock skimming.
- 7:50Speaker 5: So he said, how many skips?
- 7:52Speaker 2: How many feet?
- 7:53Speaker 5: How many feet? Here eighty.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Raj?
- 8:02Speaker 1: And he guesses, op, he is so stunned. He locked up,
- 8:08Speaker 1: just like me the other day, Raj, What is your guess?
- 8:14Speaker 1: How many feet do you think? American World Rock Skimming Championship,
- 8:20Speaker 1: World rock Skimming Champion Jonathan Jennings skipped a stone to win?
- 8:24Speaker 3: How many feet?
- 8:25Speaker 2: How many feet?
- 8:28Speaker 3: Six and a half?
- 8:31Speaker 2: All right, Trey's guess was eighty eighty feet? You are
- 8:35Speaker 2: both way way low this.
- 8:41Speaker 1: This guy skipped a rock five hundred and eighty feet
- 8:46Speaker 1: roughly two football fields. Think about the longest skip you
- 8:53Speaker 1: ever got out of a stone. And now watch this
- 8:59Speaker 1: guy just a literated yes, because my number is zero.
- 9:05Speaker 2: You've never done it?
- 9:06Speaker 3: No, you never?
- 9:08Speaker 2: Or is it because you tried and failed or you
- 9:10Speaker 2: just never even tried.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I've never seen the the reason to try to skip
- 9:15Speaker 3: a stone across water. Oh, my dad's never like, son,
- 9:20Speaker 3: let's let's go out by the pond and you know,
- 9:25Speaker 3: reminisce about things in the and then skip stone like
- 9:28Speaker 3: we didn't do that.
- 9:28Speaker 2: It was commercial.
- 9:30Speaker 1: He didn't take you around the shoulders and pull you
- 9:32Speaker 1: in and say, today's son, I'm going to show you
- 9:34Speaker 1: some things. I'm going to show you some things that
- 9:36Speaker 1: every father shows his son.
- 9:38Speaker 2: He did.
- 9:39Speaker 3: And then it was like math books and physics books
- 9:41Speaker 3: and calculator from.
- 9:43Speaker 2: T I and you weren't allowed to skip any of those.
- 9:46Speaker 3: No.
- 9:49Speaker 2: No, Yeah, I'm incredible.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I am absolutely stuck five hundred and eighty feet for
- 9:54Speaker 1: shooting a rock across the surface of a body of water.
- 9:58Speaker 2: That is stunning to me. Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 3: How big is that arm just one side? It's massive?
- 10:07Speaker 3: Or is he an ambidextrious skipper? I don't know how
- 10:09Speaker 3: that works. I don't know the categories. Is it like
- 10:13Speaker 3: you know, number of skips or length of y like
- 10:17Speaker 3: you're saying, is there purely?
- 10:19Speaker 2: It's purely how far can it go?
- 10:21Speaker 3: Okay, that's why Maybe it's that's why it called skimming,
- 10:23Speaker 3: because it's skimming off the top. They don't care how
- 10:25Speaker 3: many times it bounces.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yeah, honestly because if if you're really thinking about it, though,
- 10:32Speaker 1: at five hundred and eighty feet, I don't think you'd
- 10:35Speaker 1: be able to physically count how many skips that stone makes,
- 10:38Speaker 1: Like you'd have to do it by computer or something.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Yeah, well, what's the what's the prize like for something
- 10:51Speaker 3: like that?
- 10:52Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I was just more concerned about the uh, the cheating scandal. Okay,
- 11:00Speaker 1: it says here the competition does not involve millions in winnings.
- 11:04Speaker 1: It's held annually to raise money for local causes, including
- 11:08Speaker 1: several community projects and charities. So uh, basically bragging rights. Yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 1: it's a charity event.
- 11:17Speaker 4: So not near as scandalous as the bass fishing you know,
- 11:20Speaker 4: tournament cheating that went on.
- 11:22Speaker 1: No, because that was serious money involved, as we know
- 11:25Speaker 1: from years ago.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Yeah, that involved stuff in weights down our.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Mouth, plus the stuff with the fish.
- 11:35Speaker 6: Yeah, you're in the Treehouse.
- 11:47Speaker 7: Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Let's get Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration
- 11:56Speaker 1: into the Treehouse, where we've spent a fair amount of
- 11:59Speaker 1: time Recentlyannel on the show discussing various animals and their
- 12:03Speaker 1: nasty afflictions. It wasn't that long ago we were talking
- 12:07Speaker 1: about the tentacle bunnies, the Frankenstein bunnies, and recently we've
- 12:11Speaker 1: heard about the zombies squirrels. These are the ones with
- 12:14Speaker 1: pus filled wart sores on their heads, terrorizing backyards in
- 12:18Speaker 1: North America.
- 12:19Speaker 2: And I'm wondering, as.
- 12:20Speaker 1: A roofing guy, have you seen any zombie squirrels, any
- 12:23Speaker 1: any tentacle bunnies, any other creature that you've seen that
- 12:26Speaker 1: we need to let people know about, any any roof demons.
- 12:31Speaker 8: Actually, I'm been very fortunate. I have not seen anything
- 12:34Speaker 8: in person like that, but I did. I looked all
- 12:38Speaker 8: of those up. The pictures are kind of scary. I mean,
- 12:41Speaker 8: I'd be honest with you, if I saw one of
- 12:42Speaker 8: those bunnies or squirrels in my yard, I'd be like,
- 12:44Speaker 8: what the hell?
- 12:45Speaker 1: So maybe, well, just imagine the homeowner when you get
- 12:48Speaker 1: down from that free roof inspection. You got to tell them, all, right, look,
- 12:51Speaker 1: the good news is your roof is good. The bad
- 12:54Speaker 1: news is you got zombie squirrels.
- 12:56Speaker 8: You got zombie squirrels. How about that? That would almost
- 13:00Speaker 8: be like a new spin off of the company. We
- 13:03Speaker 8: could be like the zombie squirrel exterminators. That'd be awesome,
- 13:07Speaker 8: but that is very common. You get squirrels in times
- 13:09Speaker 8: of roofs all the time. People don't understand how, but
- 13:12Speaker 8: they can chew and they can claw through that wood
- 13:15Speaker 8: trim that's around their corners of your homes. And that's
- 13:18Speaker 8: very very common, especially in that older Plino Original Allen
- 13:22Speaker 8: Original McKinney area, all that old you know wood homes,
- 13:27Speaker 8: late eighties, early nineties, that those roads.
- 13:30Speaker 1: We had that issue with our house in Carlton. The
- 13:32Speaker 1: house was built in the firement. It was built in
- 13:34Speaker 1: the early eighties and we had to have some soffit
- 13:37Speaker 1: repair because squirrels had found away into those areas And
- 13:41Speaker 1: we're running rampant in our in our in our attic and.
- 13:44Speaker 8: That happens a lot. But how terrifying you'd be laying
- 13:47Speaker 8: in bed at night and you could hear the zombie
- 13:49Speaker 8: squirrels walking around up there going nuts, nuts, brains whatever.
- 13:58Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So if you want to check your roof for any
- 14:00Speaker 1: damage whatsoever, including zombie squirrel damage, you called Daniel and
- 14:04Speaker 1: his team at COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration for free eight

- 14:52Speaker 1: you to our dear dear sponsors, COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration.
- 14:57Speaker 1: All Right, now that we've I've embarrassed myself enough about
- 15:00Speaker 1: misunderstanding a headline in the news very important, I'd like
- 15:04Speaker 1: to back that up with something really, really awesome. This
- 15:07Speaker 1: is a really great idea that I want to share
- 15:09Speaker 1: with you guys. Not my idea, just want not to
- 15:11Speaker 1: sall online, but I want to make sure we're all
- 15:12Speaker 1: aware of this. That's all great of an idea I
- 15:15Speaker 1: think it is. We've all dealt with aging throughout our lives.
- 15:20Speaker 2: We are all.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Getting to an age to where we're thinking about, you know,
- 15:25Speaker 1: how we're going to live out our golden years partly
- 15:29Speaker 1: because we've seen it with our own eyes our grandparents. Perhaps,
- 15:33Speaker 1: if we were lucky enough to see great grandparents in
- 15:35Speaker 1: nursing homes and such, we might be dealing with putting
- 15:41Speaker 1: a parent in a nursing home soon, if not already
- 15:46Speaker 1: dealing with that type of scenario. And what to do
- 15:49Speaker 1: in the golden years is something that's kind of now
- 15:52Speaker 1: at the forefront of our minds, dealing with it with
- 15:54Speaker 1: family and thinking about the same time, what are we
- 15:57Speaker 1: going to do with ourselves? Right, And we've talked before
- 16:03Speaker 1: about how you know, nursing home retirement home for gen
- 16:07Speaker 1: X is probably gonna be fun because we're gonna have
- 16:09Speaker 1: some fun stuff in there. We'll probably have a bar,
- 16:12Speaker 1: We'll probably have some other types of activities. We'll probably
- 16:16Speaker 1: have video game video games setups and things like that.
- 16:20Speaker 2: So I'm not entirely not looking forward to retirement home living.
- 16:26Speaker 1: But I saw a great idea the other day that
- 16:29Speaker 1: I think should catch on, and that is turning abandoned
- 16:35Speaker 1: malls into retirement homes. Three floors of pure nostalgia, food court, arcade,
- 16:43Speaker 1: Orange Julius Smoothies, and a movie theater showing classics on
- 16:47Speaker 1: repeat and all.
- 16:49Speaker 3: The women live in Forever twenty one.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Sure reclaires.
- 16:59Speaker 1: I can finally, I can finally get my piercing I've
- 17:01Speaker 1: been putting off. I don't know why this popped up,
- 17:07Speaker 1: but I have seen a couple of times. I think
- 17:10Speaker 1: it's all torn down now, But the old Colin Creek
- 17:12Speaker 1: Mall and Plano.
- 17:14Speaker 2: There's a video.
- 17:15Speaker 1: There's like an account called Abandoned Malls or something like that,
- 17:17Speaker 1: and it showed the abandoned Colin Creek Mall. Then when
- 17:21Speaker 1: I saw the picture of this guy just holding a
- 17:23Speaker 1: sign saying abandoned mall should be turned into retiring into
- 17:27Speaker 1: retirement homes. Three floors of nostalgias like.
- 17:30Speaker 2: That would be awesome.
- 17:33Speaker 1: You get to reuse some real estate and we get
- 17:36Speaker 1: a cool environment in which to live out our golden years. Anyway,
- 17:40Speaker 1: I just thought that's a fantastic idea. No one's gonna
- 17:43Speaker 1: do it, but I wish they would. All the camember
- 17:50Speaker 1: all the people can hang out of things.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Remember it's the only store that's empty.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Why did I come in here?
- 18:07Speaker 5: You never have to stock new merchandise.
- 18:09Speaker 1: You don't, especially when you go in, especially when you
- 18:14Speaker 1: go into things remembered and you want to get something personalized,
- 18:17Speaker 1: which means you have to come back next week to
- 18:19Speaker 1: pick it up. You're just gotta have a wall full
- 18:21Speaker 1: of stuff with people's names on it that they never
- 18:23Speaker 1: pick up. It's going to be like those coke bottles
- 18:26Speaker 1: with someone's name, like Dimitria, just to have some of
- 18:29Speaker 1: the residents run it. That'll never even get engraved. Yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 1: but you can through all the time.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Man.
- 18:35Speaker 3: But like the food court could be run by the
- 18:37Speaker 3: residents too, Like that'd be hilarious because if they just
- 18:40Speaker 3: forget your order, they're just going to keep making so
- 18:42Speaker 3: you just gotta pay one time.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Basically, the Orange Julius machine is just going to be
- 18:46Speaker 1: left open and it's just a matter of running a
- 18:48Speaker 1: cup underneath it every few seconds.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be Yeah. But like I like the
- 18:56Speaker 3: idea of a bar in a nursing home. The only
- 18:58Speaker 3: thing I saw that was close to that is when
- 19:00Speaker 3: I first moved back from LA I was just doing
- 19:02Speaker 3: quick like Uber Eats thing or Postmates, and I delivered
- 19:07Speaker 3: to a nursing home that was across from Valley View Mall,
- 19:10Speaker 3: across the highway, and I delivered from Specs and it
- 19:14Speaker 3: was a hefty order and I was like, what is
- 19:16Speaker 3: going on? And they're like, oh, we have happy hour
- 19:18Speaker 3: every Friday, and I was like really lately, yeah, like
- 19:22Speaker 3: from five to seven thirty it's open bar and they
- 19:27Speaker 3: get the requests with what they like to drink, and.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Because not everyone in gen X is all about drinking,
- 19:35Speaker 1: because our generation was the first to be like drug,
- 19:38Speaker 1: let's do them. Next to the bar might be an
- 19:42Speaker 1: actual cannabis bar, like a microdosing mushroom stand or something.
- 19:46Speaker 2: And there's all sorts of possibilities that I feel.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Like gen X is going to embrace when it comes
- 19:50Speaker 1: to the nursing home lifestyle. But again, I just I
- 19:54Speaker 1: like the idea of doing an old an old mall
- 19:56Speaker 1: because we grew up in malls.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, malls were fun.
- 20:00Speaker 1: What better place to be stuck in until you die
- 20:04Speaker 1: than a place that you enjoyed as a child, because
- 20:10Speaker 1: it's sure as hell isn't gonna be Chucky cheese That
- 20:12Speaker 1: was not fun because for most of us, you grow
- 20:14Speaker 1: up then eventually, I like, even if you liked chuck
- 20:16Speaker 1: e cheese or showbiz pizza as a kid, then you
- 20:19Speaker 1: grew up, you had kids, and then you had to
- 20:20Speaker 1: take them to those places and you don't want anything
- 20:22Speaker 1: to do with them anymore.
- 20:23Speaker 2: The mall is still I think it's still in play trade.
- 20:26Speaker 5: There's a reason.
- 20:27Speaker 3: There's a reason that Chucky Cheese now serves beer.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Yes, I think it always has.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't know that interesting?
- 20:34Speaker 2: Yeah, they knew from the Yeah.
- 20:37Speaker 3: And also, did you guys see the video of Chucky
- 20:39Speaker 3: Cheese getting arrested?
- 20:40Speaker 2: Yes, yes, amazing. Did we not talk about that on
- 20:46Speaker 2: the show?
- 20:47Speaker 1: I had that on my list, And that's one of
- 20:48Speaker 1: the things I can ever remember, if we all, if
- 20:50Speaker 1: we talk about certain things I had that was it
- 20:52Speaker 1: happened in Florida.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I think it was in.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Tampa, and it was Chucky Cheese being arrested for credit
- 20:58Speaker 1: card front Yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 4: But it wasn't the real Chucky Cheese, just the guy
- 21:03Speaker 4: put the Chuck E Cheese outfit on just to try
- 21:06Speaker 4: to fool the cops.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, that shows you how stupid he was. He
- 21:13Speaker 1: tried to He should have tried to crawl inside the animatronic.
- 21:17Speaker 5: He should have gone in the ballpit that too, That's
- 21:19Speaker 5: a better.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Spot to hide.
- 21:21Speaker 3: He's gonna come out with some sort of fungal disease.
- 21:24Speaker 3: You don't want to be in the ballpit they did like.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Better than the other ballpit. He's going to Yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 3: But my favorite part of that video, and it just
- 21:33Speaker 3: makes me laugh, is when they're just like literally telling
- 21:35Speaker 3: Chuck e Cheese to stop resisting.
- 21:37Speaker 2: I was like, that is hilarious to me. He's not trying,
- 21:41Speaker 2: he's not resisting. He can't get his He's.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Never worn the cost before, so he doesn't know how
- 21:45Speaker 3: to get his arms around comfortably.
- 21:49Speaker 1: It turns out the costumes a little more restrictive than
- 21:51Speaker 1: I guess he was planning. The thing I like to
- 21:55Speaker 1: think about is that's Florida. So it probably was not
- 21:58Speaker 1: the first Chucky Cheese they arrested, nor will it be
- 22:02Speaker 1: the last, Nor will it be the last. So Trey,
- 22:05Speaker 1: you look kind of skeptical. Are you not on board
- 22:07Speaker 1: with the retirement malls?
- 22:10Speaker 5: I mean, you know you could.
- 22:14Speaker 4: I mean, ice skating rink is going to be a morgue. Yeah,
- 22:22Speaker 4: I mean, and I guess you have different levels because
- 22:27Speaker 4: at a certain point, some people won't be able to
- 22:31Speaker 4: get to the second level, and.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Then some people, as you pointed out, should not be
- 22:35Speaker 1: allowed on the ice skating rink.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Oh, I think by that point the majority of people
- 22:43Speaker 4: yo broken hips of.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Yeah, or is that just where they throw you when
- 22:51Speaker 1: it's your time because it's already cold storage.
- 22:54Speaker 5: You know that's I mean multiple uses.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Sorry, sorry, sorry, Jerry, it's time. It's time to go
- 23:01Speaker 1: to the ice drink.
- 23:02Speaker 2: No, I still feel fine.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Oh that's a that's a great idea for a horror movie.
- 23:08Speaker 3: The ice rink.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure.
- 23:12Speaker 1: And one of the five or six final destinations, I'm
- 23:16Speaker 1: certain they've done at least one scene at an ice drink.
- 23:19Speaker 2: If not, then that's just opportunity.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yeah, this could be like the nursing home version of
- 23:24Speaker 3: the Purge.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Once a year, they just let them go after each other.
- 23:30Speaker 5: I think. I think that's why they wear diapers.
- 23:35Speaker 2: That's a different urge.

- 24:06Speaker 1: There's a lot of things I would consider doing for
- 24:08Speaker 1: a million dollars. But there's one thing that I don't
- 24:12Speaker 1: know if it's even an official competition or if it's
- 24:18Speaker 1: just you know, hyperbole. But are you guys familiar with
- 24:22Speaker 1: an anachoic chamber?
- 24:26Speaker 5: I am not.
- 24:27Speaker 2: No, so.
- 24:31Speaker 1: For one million dollars, could you stay in the world's
- 24:35Speaker 1: quietest room for one night? The catches The room is
- 24:42Speaker 1: an anachoic chamber. The room is minus twenty four point
- 24:47Speaker 1: nine decibels, and that is so low that you'd be
- 24:53Speaker 1: able to hear your own body's internal sounds, heartbeat, breathing,
- 24:59Speaker 1: even blood moving through your veins.
- 25:03Speaker 2: That's going to be a note for me.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Supposedly, the longest that someone has been able to last
- 25:10Speaker 1: in one of these rooms is about an hour. I
- 25:14Speaker 1: initially saw this story because it's said, for one million dollars,
- 25:17Speaker 1: could you stay a night in this room? And no
- 25:21Speaker 1: one's been able to stay beyond an hour. And that's
- 25:24Speaker 1: even an extreme example. Most people can't make it fifteen
- 25:27Speaker 1: twenty minutes.
- 25:30Speaker 5: How big is the room?
- 25:33Speaker 2: Uh, let me see if I can get you a
- 25:35Speaker 2: decent answer.
- 25:36Speaker 1: An anacoic chamber is a specialized room designed to absorb
- 25:40Speaker 1: nearly all sound and electromagnetic waves, creating a nearly echo
- 25:44Speaker 1: free environment. These chambers are characterized by their sound absorbing
- 25:48Speaker 1: materials like foam or fiberglass wedges on the walls and ceiling.
- 25:51Speaker 1: They're used to conduct precise measurements of sound emitting devices
- 25:55Speaker 1: and electronic equipment by eliminating unwanted reflections. Visitors often find
- 25:59Speaker 1: their resulting silence disorienting, as they can hear their own
- 26:03Speaker 1: internal body sounds, but they're also used for research and
- 26:07Speaker 1: testing in fields ranging from acoustics to electronics. The room
- 26:12Speaker 1: that I have seen is in Minnesota. It's ore Field
- 26:17Speaker 1: Laboratories in South Minneapolis, and it has been confirmed by
- 26:21Speaker 1: the Guinness World Records as the quietest place on Earth.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It absorbs ninety nine point ninety nine percent of sound
- 26:33Speaker 1: based on the size. I'd say the size of a
- 26:38Speaker 1: good sized master closet or bathroom. And I don't know,
- 26:47Speaker 1: and I don't know if there's a light on when
- 26:49Speaker 1: you're in.
- 26:49Speaker 2: There, that's an even bigger no.
- 26:57Speaker 1: By comparison, a typical quiet bedroom at night measures about
- 27:02Speaker 1: thirty decibels. This measure this chamber measures at minus twenty.
- 27:07Speaker 1: It's made of three point three foot thick fiberglass acoustic
- 27:11Speaker 1: wedges and double walls of insulated steel and foot thick concrete.
- 27:14Speaker 1: My god, this sounds like a nightmare. According to the
- 27:22Speaker 1: place that runs the room orfield, they say, in the
- 27:26Speaker 1: anacoic chamber, you become the sound. One reporter lasted up
- 27:32Speaker 1: to forty five minutes, and most people leave after half
- 27:35Speaker 1: that time, tortured by the eerie sounds of their own body.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Ugh, I do not want to be left alone with
- 27:46Speaker 2: my own head for that long. That's from the sound
- 27:50Speaker 2: of it, no pun intended.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I don't think you would really be able to hear
- 27:54Speaker 1: your own thoughts over the noise of your own body.
- 27:59Speaker 1: They say, the only stay in the room for an
- 28:01Speaker 1: extended period of time is to sit down. A person's
- 28:04Speaker 1: orientation is largely secured by the sounds made when walking
- 28:08Speaker 1: or standing, and as those sound cues are taken away,
- 28:11Speaker 1: perception becomes skewed and balance and movement become almost impossible.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Feats.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Ugh, I get in my mind, I just assumed you
- 28:21Speaker 4: laid down in it to begin with.
- 28:24Speaker 1: That would make sense, But yeah, the fact that no
- 28:27Speaker 1: one's been able to make it past an hour just
- 28:30Speaker 1: just sounds so. I mean, because it's one thing like
- 28:34Speaker 1: if you like you kind of feel your heartbeat, but
- 28:37Speaker 1: really being able to hear it is one thing.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I don't like.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Mouth noises at a normal room volume, like people slurping
- 28:45Speaker 1: and smacking and stuff that drives me off the wall.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I can't imagine. I don't think I would last five
- 28:50Speaker 1: minutes in this room because I don't like hearing moist
- 28:54Speaker 1: wet noises.
- 28:57Speaker 2: That's all you are is a big ball of moist
- 28:59Speaker 2: wet noise. That's right.
- 29:05Speaker 1: The room is minus twenty four point nine decibels. The
- 29:10Speaker 1: only things lower than the decibels in this room are
- 29:12Speaker 1: the Eagles' latest ratings. If you're wondering, yes, that is
- 29:25Speaker 1: the reason why I wanted to read this story.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Huzzah.
- 29:31Speaker 5: And no one can stay there for my very much
- 29:32Speaker 5: time either.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Time spent listening way down. Well, your long game is
- 29:41Speaker 2: certainly better than theirs.
