- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, Steve, here we are at the last break
- 0:04Speaker 1: of the day. It's been a good day, and here
- 0:06Speaker 1: we are with just one more thing. Your closing remarks.
- 0:09Speaker 2: You know, I've always heard people say you got to
- 0:13Speaker 2: take the high road. But you know that's been difficult
- 0:17Speaker 2: for me at times because sometimes that hasn't always registered
- 0:22Speaker 2: with me. I haven't received it the way I should
- 0:26Speaker 2: have taking the high road. But Oprah put it a
- 0:30Speaker 2: little bit differently, and I received it differently. She said,
- 0:34Speaker 2: She's always been taught never to meet negativity with negativity,
- 0:39Speaker 2: because the only thing can come out of that is
- 0:42Speaker 2: more negativity, she said. The only way to come back
- 0:45Speaker 2: darkness is with light, she said, and it only takes
- 0:49Speaker 2: a little bit of light to affect darkness. And so
- 0:54Speaker 2: I started thinking, if you're in a completely pitch black cave,
- 0:58Speaker 2: and you happen to have the smallest candle, let's just
- 1:02Speaker 2: say a birthday candle, and you light a birthday candle
- 1:06Speaker 2: in a pitch black cave, it has a profound effect
- 1:13Speaker 2: on a very large area in which was normally a
- 1:17Speaker 2: completely dark space. Just that one little piece of light
- 1:24Speaker 2: from a candle has a profound effect on a pitch
- 1:28Speaker 2: black dark cave, and she's absolutely correct. The only way
- 1:34Speaker 2: to combat darkness is to be light. And I was
- 1:38Speaker 2: talking to the girls and they were saying, Steve, that's
- 1:41Speaker 2: taking the high road, and they're absolutely right. That's exactly
- 1:44Speaker 2: what people mean when they say take the high road.
- 1:46Speaker 2: But I just never really received it that way, because
- 1:49Speaker 2: it's been difficult for me sometimes to take the high road.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I've done it many times, but it's been challenging because
- 1:57Speaker 2: I being the way I am, sometimes I go, okay,
- 2:00Speaker 2: all right, so this the road we riding towards each
- 2:03Speaker 2: other on. Then let's dry these cars and pick up
- 2:05Speaker 2: some speed and let's go. But that's not fruitful. That's
- 2:10Speaker 2: not too a benefit of me. It never has been.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I've had people help me understand, like when they blog
- 2:17Speaker 2: about you. Everybody's on social media some form or fashion
- 2:21Speaker 2: or another. No matter how many followers or likes you
- 2:23Speaker 2: get on Facebook or something, you're gonna run into some hate.
- 2:28Speaker 2: And what I was told being in this position was
- 2:32Speaker 2: when bloggers blog about you, it's a blog. If you
- 2:35Speaker 2: respond to them, Steve, it's a press conference. Because now
- 2:42Speaker 2: you gonna meet this negativity with more negativity. You're gonna
- 2:47Speaker 2: you're gonna heighten a much more negative situation. So what
- 2:51Speaker 2: Oprah was saying, I wish everybody received it the way
- 2:54Speaker 2: I did. It's just light, man. You can't you can't
- 2:58Speaker 2: win like that. You've got to be light. I've always
- 3:02Speaker 2: wanted to be a person that when you walk into
- 3:04Speaker 2: a room, people be glad to see you. You know.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I talk to my kids about that all the time too.
- 3:09Speaker 2: You know, you want to be the person when they
- 3:11Speaker 2: walk in the room everybody go, Okay, cool, my mad
- 3:14Speaker 2: Oh that's my dude. What's up? Boy? All of us
- 3:18Speaker 2: know someone that walks into a room and they just
- 3:22Speaker 2: take that air out the room. Everybody knows somebody like that.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Man when they man, y'all be sitting around having a
- 3:30Speaker 2: good time. Man, you and your boys or your girls,
- 3:32Speaker 2: y'all sitting around. Then there's one person walk in and
- 3:35Speaker 2: the whole attitude go. It's like they take the air
- 3:39Speaker 2: out the room because they's just darkness. Man, they just darkness.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Y'all in there having this light time, and here come
- 3:45Speaker 2: this black cloud that's gonna hover over the affair and
- 3:49Speaker 2: just start raining on it. I never wanted to be
- 3:52Speaker 2: that person. I've always wanted to be a person that
- 3:55Speaker 2: when I walk in the room, man, that I could
- 3:58Speaker 2: make a difference. I just want to be the bright
- 4:01Speaker 2: spot on you know, a little more positivity. You can
- 4:08Speaker 2: ask God to help make you relevant. And I would
- 4:12Speaker 2: rather be relative on a positive level than to try
- 4:15Speaker 2: to create relativity by dragging other people down. These people
- 4:19Speaker 2: who have shows where all they do is talk about people,
- 4:22Speaker 2: and they trying to be relevant by talking about people.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Or you got haters out there. Who's a whole blog
- 4:28Speaker 2: and whole Instagram and whole social media is set up
- 4:31Speaker 2: to draw hate so they can draw viewers, so they
- 4:34Speaker 2: can monetize it and sell ads. Man, you know that ain't
- 4:37Speaker 2: no good money. You know how that's gonna last because
- 4:42Speaker 2: somebody gonna turn around and say something about you, and
- 4:45Speaker 2: then somebody gonna stop viewing you. It's much better if
- 4:49Speaker 2: you try to make your living in a positive way.
- 4:52Speaker 2: It lasts a lot longer. I say this all the time.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Hate is louder, but love is stronger Youdever, you'll noticed
- 5:01Speaker 2: that hate is so loud when they got stuff on
- 5:04Speaker 2: all these blog sites, they just talking about people. You go, oh,
- 5:09Speaker 2: but love is stronger. It's quieter, but it's stronger and
- 5:13Speaker 2: if you just keep loving yourself and keep loving your God,
- 5:17Speaker 2: and you keep loving the people back that love you,
- 5:21Speaker 2: you can weather the storm. I tell you what's really helpful.
- 5:25Speaker 2: It's hard for me though. If you could turn around
- 5:28Speaker 2: and just forgive your enemies, whether they ask you for
- 5:31Speaker 2: it or not, just forgive them anyway so you can
- 5:35Speaker 2: keep moving forward, so you don't get stuck on stupid
- 5:39Speaker 2: with them. That'll help you too. That's a hard one.
- 5:43Speaker 2: It's hard for me, But that's a good new too.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Those are my closing remarks today. That's what I got
