- 0:17Speaker 1: Gets the Bengals on Sunday afternoon, and the Jaguars find
- 0:20Speaker 1: themselves john in a position to face a really potent offense.
- 0:25Speaker 1: We're talking about one that, when it is functioning on
- 0:28Speaker 1: all cylinders, is as good as any in professional football.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Well, they have great quarterback, they have great receivers, They're tough,
- 0:36Speaker 2: they're resilient. They started slow in recent years, they seem
- 0:40Speaker 2: to be very determined not to do that. I think
- 0:43Speaker 2: it's a dangerous matchup. I think Jaguars can win if
- 0:45Speaker 2: they play physically. But it's certainly a bigger task than
- 0:50Speaker 2: last week ry.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But I know a lot of people are thinking, well,
- 0:52Speaker 1: it's a slow start, that's something they've seen from Zach
- 0:54Speaker 1: Taylor and his team in recent years. But I think
- 0:57Speaker 1: it's worth pointing out that the Cleveland Browns are an
- 1:00Speaker 1: excellent defense, maybe one of the best two or three
- 1:03Speaker 1: in professional football. So it means that the Jaguars, who
- 1:06Speaker 1: played well last week against an underwhelming offense, have really
- 1:11Speaker 1: got to take their game up a level. So the
- 1:13Speaker 1: pressure would seem to be important this week. We saw
- 1:16Speaker 1: it last week from Josh Allen, who had eight. We
- 1:19Speaker 1: didn't see a lot of saccually Duan Smoot got there
- 1:22Speaker 1: this week. You're talking about guys having to get.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Home well, and anybody who's followed football in the last
- 1:28Speaker 2: two or three years knows that the way to get
- 1:32Speaker 2: Cincinnati is to pressure Burrow. The problem is when you
- 1:36Speaker 2: pressure him, he's still usually good in the face of
- 1:39Speaker 2: that pressure. So you've got to get interior pressure, and
- 1:41Speaker 2: then when you get a chance at him, you got
- 1:42Speaker 2: to get him down. And then once you get him down,
- 1:45Speaker 2: you have to get him down again and again and again.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Because I said it all week, he's one of the
- 1:50Speaker 2: few guys in the NFL who you can hit, get down,
- 1:53Speaker 2: sack him seven or eight times and he still beats you.
- 1:56Speaker 2: So you've got to have a competitive stamina, is my phrase.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Brian was very good phrase, and the three of us
- 2:01Speaker 1: were all just in Anthony Campanelli, the defensive coordinator's press conference,
- 2:05Speaker 1: and he talked about the difference between sacking Joe Burrow,
- 2:08Speaker 1: which is very difficult to do, and pressuring Joe Burrow,
- 2:11Speaker 1: which means moving him off the spot, making him look
- 2:14Speaker 1: for his second option, sometimes even his third. They have
- 2:17Speaker 1: to get pressure and there's an opportunity for them to
- 2:19Speaker 1: get pressure. Tie with Eric Armstead, who last week was
- 2:22Speaker 1: working against guards who are amongst the best in the
- 2:25Speaker 1: NFL in Carolina. This week, they're not as good as
- 2:28Speaker 1: those Carolina guards. So the Jaguars know if they're gonna
- 2:31Speaker 1: get pressure, it's gonna have to start inside with their
- 2:34Speaker 1: interior guys, because the tackles in Cincinnati are big and athletic.
- 2:38Speaker 3: We talked a lot about what the Bengals are going
- 2:40Speaker 3: to look like this week. Let's talk a little bit
- 2:42Speaker 3: about what the Jaguars are going to look like. We
- 2:44Speaker 3: have big things brought to you by GEAJ Government Employees
- 2:47Speaker 3: Health Association, So we'll start with a big thing, number two,
- 2:49Speaker 3: because run it back. We talked a ton about what
- 2:51Speaker 3: the run defense looked, the run game looked like for
- 2:54Speaker 3: the Jaguars. Putting two hundred yards rushing into this game,
- 2:57Speaker 3: Brian a Trade tanks Bigsby, but track had today. We've
- 3:01Speaker 3: seen a ton out of those rookies. I imagine this
- 3:03Speaker 3: is going to be a focus that I'm going forward
- 3:05Speaker 3: to still put a huge emphasis on the run.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Williston. We've talked at length guy about Travis etn and
- 3:11Speaker 1: the training camp that he had, the way he performed
- 3:13Speaker 1: during the preseason and We saw it early last week
- 3:16Speaker 1: that he is all of a sudden attacking between the tackles,
- 3:19Speaker 1: which I never gave him a lot of credit for.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I didn't think he was very good at it. But
- 3:23Speaker 1: last week the offensive line was exceptional and it allowed
- 3:26Speaker 1: Travis to play both inside and out and of course
- 3:29Speaker 1: the cut that he made on that seventy one yard
- 3:31Speaker 1: where he went back inside before making it outside again.
- 3:36Speaker 1: He's playing at a very high level and John. They
- 3:38Speaker 1: have a lot of confidence in Baseheal Tutan and Leaquin
- 3:40Speaker 1: Allen Junior. They feel like they are ready to go.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Will they run for two hundred yards every week? No,
- 3:45Speaker 1: but will they be able to run when they want
- 3:48Speaker 1: to run, which is what Robert Hainsey told me last week.
- 3:52Speaker 1: If the center is right, they should be able to
- 3:54Speaker 1: do that.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they love to. I think the trade of Bigsby
- 3:58Speaker 2: was far more about how much they like Etn in
- 4:01Speaker 2: this offense and where they think Tuton can go. It
- 4:04Speaker 2: seemed last week that the plan was to alternate Travis
- 4:07Speaker 2: and Tank a little bit. Well, they really want to
- 4:09Speaker 2: get Tutin in that I'm called a rotation, but in
- 4:14Speaker 2: the back and forth as one of the top two backs,
- 4:17Speaker 2: it ain't Touton can match Etn in terms of productivity.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Well, he's so patient, right, I mean for a young
- 4:23Speaker 1: runner to be willing to let things evolve, you don't
- 4:26Speaker 1: see that all the time. And then his first step
- 4:29Speaker 1: that get up and go kai. I mean, man, he
- 4:31Speaker 1: goes from zero to sixty in just a second or two.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I'm excited to see with given some extra carries. Now
- 4:37Speaker 3: as the offense kind of evolves, as this goes along,
- 4:39Speaker 3: what Touton's going to be able to do? So our
- 4:41Speaker 3: final big thing, which is more to proof great for
- 4:43Speaker 3: the Daguars to get a win over the Carolina Panthers
- 4:45Speaker 3: this week. The Bengals are going to be putting up
- 4:48Speaker 3: a different kind of product, a different kind of thing
- 4:50Speaker 3: they're going to need to deal with. Trevor Lawrence analyze
- 4:52Speaker 3: the defense a little bit for Cincinnati.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Getting their hands on some passes and getting some turnovers.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Those were b in the right spot at the right time.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Guys making plays kind of changed the game. Obviously. You
- 5:05Speaker 4: know with Hendrickson, always have to know where he's at.
- 5:07Speaker 4: And he's a great player, has proven himself in this
- 5:09Speaker 4: league time and time again, so give him his respect. Obviously,
- 5:14Speaker 4: with with our preparation and just knowing where he's at.
- 5:17Speaker 4: He's a really good player and you know, have to
- 5:18Speaker 4: take care of him, so that's obviously something there. And
- 5:21Speaker 4: just the defense was flying around. I think made a
- 5:23Speaker 4: lot of plays, did a nice job in the run game,
- 5:27Speaker 4: you know, really, like I said, great, and turnovers in
- 5:29Speaker 4: the back end that's the name of the game, and
- 5:31Speaker 4: they created a couple of them. So it's good defense
- 5:34Speaker 4: that's flying around. A few of the guys have been
- 5:35Speaker 4: there for a while, a bunch the leaders.
- 5:37Speaker 3: On that defense, Bengals defense, and nothing to write home
- 5:41Speaker 3: about the last couple of years. They've got a new
- 5:43Speaker 3: coordinator in there. The Bengals in Week one are looking
- 5:46Speaker 3: a lot different than they did last season. John, when
- 5:49Speaker 3: we look at this for what Trevor's needs to kind
- 5:52Speaker 3: of we saw him look confident and under control in
- 5:55Speaker 3: the system last week. This is gonna be a different
- 5:57Speaker 3: kind of challenge for him. What are we you hoping
- 5:59Speaker 3: to see?
- 6:00Speaker 2: I got some travel estates, well, I think he said,
- 6:03Speaker 2: more and more consistency. The Steven goes on. I thought
- 6:05Speaker 2: he played fine in the first half. I thought he
- 6:08Speaker 2: played fine in the fourth quarter. He didn't play well
- 6:10Speaker 2: in the third quarter on Sunday, but he looked into
- 6:13Speaker 2: control of the offense. He looked like a guy who
- 6:17Speaker 2: was making overall good decisions and missed a couple of throws.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So I was fine with the way he played. I
- 6:25Speaker 2: think they can get through the other part of their
- 6:27Speaker 2: schedule with him playing that way. Brian, as long as
- 6:29Speaker 2: they run, play good defense the whole thing. He needs
- 6:34Speaker 2: time to get used to this offense, gain confidence, and
- 6:36Speaker 2: then as you go forward, he can elevate from there.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I think after four or five games of sort of
- 6:42Speaker 2: staying out of the gray, and then once he gets
- 6:44Speaker 2: into what Liam Cohne calls the gray, he'll be better
- 6:46Speaker 2: in the great Ryan Well.
- 6:47Speaker 1: If he's going to figure it out, he's going to
- 6:49Speaker 1: have to have time to throw, and that leans with
- 6:51Speaker 1: the Draguars up front, are going to have to help
- 6:52Speaker 1: Walker a little. With Trey Hendrickson, he is an absolute
- 6:55Speaker 1: game wrecker. And if you go back two years to
- 6:57Speaker 1: the twenty twenty three game, he was the guy through
- 7:00Speaker 1: Walker little into Trevor Lawrence and set the injury bug
- 7:03Speaker 1: in motion. So I think you had can count on
- 7:06Speaker 1: Anton Harrison to take care of the guy on the
- 7:08Speaker 1: other side to give him time. But ninety one is
- 7:11Speaker 1: the elite, So two is Logan Wilson, the middle linebacker
- 7:14Speaker 1: number fifty five. Those two guys are the guys that
- 7:17Speaker 1: are going to wreck your game plan if you don't
- 7:20Speaker 1: prepare upfront. The good news, KaiA is is the offensive
- 7:23Speaker 1: line played a really good game against a solid defensive
- 7:26Speaker 1: front last week. They should be able to handle the
- 7:28Speaker 1: challenge this week if they can help Walker Little.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Have to help Walker Little. Coming up, going forward, we're
- 7:35Speaker 3: going to check in go behind Enemy Lines. I check
- 7:38Speaker 3: in with the Bengals reporter to see exactly.
- 7:40Speaker 5: What we can expect this week.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Welcome back to jag Zam, brought to you by Field's
- 7:54Speaker 3: Auto Group Seefields First, Jacksonville's premier luxury auto group. Head
- 7:57Speaker 3: over to Fieldsauto dot Com another edition of Behind the
- 8:01Speaker 3: Enemy Lines. It's Week two. The Jaguars are heading to Cincinnati,
- 8:04Speaker 3: so I'm checking into my counterpart team reporter with the Bengals,
- 8:07Speaker 3: Marissa Gontapelli. Thank you so much for joining us. Excited
- 8:11Speaker 3: for week two. Both teams want to now going into this,
- 8:13Speaker 3: I think both of them fail. They can play better
- 8:15Speaker 3: football than maybe they played in Week one.
- 8:17Speaker 5: But from your.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Perspective, what did the Bengals do against the Browns and
- 8:20Speaker 3: what are they looking to change in Week two?
- 8:23Speaker 5: Yes, and first off, thank you for having me.
- 8:25Speaker 6: Love that we're able to catch up before Sunday's matchup.
- 8:28Speaker 6: And when you look at what the Bengals did in
- 8:30Speaker 6: Week one, I think the most important thing coming out
- 8:32Speaker 6: of that game was that they won the football game.
- 8:35Speaker 6: It's been a struggle for Zach Taylor since twenty nineteen
- 8:38Speaker 6: to get off to a fast start and that was
- 8:40Speaker 6: something that was really stressed going into Week one. Just
- 8:43Speaker 6: come away with the win. It wasn't the prettiest of wins.
- 8:46Speaker 6: When you look at the offensive side of the ball,
- 8:48Speaker 6: the Bengals are very uncharacteristic of what we've known Joe
- 8:51Speaker 6: Burrow to do in the Joe Burrow era. The fact
- 8:53Speaker 6: that t Higgins and Jamar Chase each only had two
- 8:56Speaker 6: and three receptions very uncharacteristic. But the biggest takeaway I
- 9:00Speaker 6: took from that game was the defensive performance. All off
- 9:03Speaker 6: season long, we have heard how the Bengals want to
- 9:05Speaker 6: improve defensively. Brought in new DC Al Golden to you know,
- 9:09Speaker 6: get that group under his wing, and it showed the
- 9:13Speaker 6: fact that they had two huge takeaways when it mattered
- 9:15Speaker 6: there in the second half, and most importantly, stopping the run,
- 9:19Speaker 6: held the Browns to under fifty rushing yards, averaging two
- 9:22Speaker 6: yards to carry. The defensive line played really well in
- 9:25Speaker 6: Week one, and that's something I'm going to be looking
- 9:27Speaker 6: ahead to this week, especially.
- 9:28Speaker 5: With what the Jags did on the ground in their.
- 9:31Speaker 6: First game, to see how that Bengals defensive line and
- 9:34Speaker 6: especially that front seven holds up from Week one into
- 9:37Speaker 6: Week two.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely a lot of focus on the run on
- 9:39Speaker 3: both for both of these teams in week one. Thing
- 9:42Speaker 3: about Joe Burrow, as we know I'm sure you're familiar
- 9:44Speaker 3: with over the years, he bounces back really well. So
- 9:46Speaker 3: maybe didn't play great in Week one. I assume that'll
- 9:48Speaker 3: be a focus going into Week two. Is that part
- 9:51Speaker 3: of what makes him so special, just his ability from
- 9:53Speaker 3: week to week, like you know, you can kind of
- 9:54Speaker 3: flip that switch.
- 9:56Speaker 6: Absolutely, It's part of his Joe Cool swagger in a
- 9:58Speaker 6: sense too, where it's just nothing phases him. And the
- 10:01Speaker 6: thing when you look at Joe two just over his
- 10:04Speaker 6: career is he only gets better. He plays his best
- 10:06Speaker 6: ball in November and December and I know we have
- 10:08Speaker 6: a long ways to get to until that point, but
- 10:11Speaker 6: I'm absolutely expecting him to come out firing a little
- 10:14Speaker 6: bit more on Sunday. I mean, even Zach Taylor has
- 10:17Speaker 6: talked about, you know, it was great to have the
- 10:19Speaker 6: defense stuff up the way that they.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Did, like, Okay, we're going to get the offense going.
- 10:22Speaker 5: Offense has got your back, and.
- 10:24Speaker 6: So I fully expect to see a different Bengals team
- 10:27Speaker 6: offensively than we did week one.
- 10:29Speaker 3: We've been fortunate so far, not a ton on the
- 10:32Speaker 3: injury front. Are there any injury moves that you've been
- 10:34Speaker 3: dealing with, any changes going forward with the Bengals?
- 10:38Speaker 5: No, thankfully. We have also for the most part, been healthy.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Lucas Patrick, our right guard, did leave Cleveland's game with
- 10:45Speaker 6: an ankle injury at cash strain, so he will be
- 10:47Speaker 6: out for a handful of weeks. They placed him on
- 10:50Speaker 6: IR this week, so Dalton Risner is going to be
- 10:53Speaker 6: sliding into that right guard spot.
- 10:54Speaker 5: But he came in very early in that game and
- 10:56Speaker 5: finished out.
- 10:56Speaker 6: So that's really the only that's the biggest area of
- 10:59Speaker 6: conc Earn on the injury front.
- 11:01Speaker 5: But outside of that, we were very healthy, very.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Good, and then As far as the Jaguars, they've got
- 11:06Speaker 3: a new offensive system in place. We saw a ton
- 11:08Speaker 3: on the run game, but they're going to be focusing
- 11:10Speaker 3: more I would imagine a little bit more focusing on
- 11:13Speaker 3: trying to spread things out with some of the new
- 11:15Speaker 3: weapons that they have. Defensively, I know that's last season,
- 11:19Speaker 3: you guys kind of changed them things out. How what
- 11:21Speaker 3: improvements have you seen specifically in terms of the new
- 11:24Speaker 3: system they haven't placed on defense?
- 11:26Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely, Well, A big one is just that stopping
- 11:29Speaker 6: the run. That was a huge point of emphasis in
- 11:31Speaker 6: the off season. They brought in TJ. Slayton to be
- 11:34Speaker 6: the nose tackle there to really kind of stuff that box.
- 11:38Speaker 6: Having Shamar Stewart, you know, get into the mix a
- 11:40Speaker 6: little bit there. He was pretty disruptive. He first round
- 11:43Speaker 6: draft pick for the Bengals back in April, so seeing
- 11:46Speaker 6: him on the edge and creating a little disruption was
- 11:48Speaker 6: definitely a good sign.
- 11:50Speaker 5: But the biggest area that kind of.
- 11:52Speaker 6: Like I at least thought so onto the defensive side
- 11:55Speaker 6: was when you look at the linebacker play.
- 11:57Speaker 5: They brought in a handful of new guys.
- 12:00Speaker 6: Orrin Burke's a veteran who came over from Philadelphia and
- 12:03Speaker 6: then two rookies, Demetrius Knight and Barrett Carter, and Demetrius
- 12:07Speaker 6: Knight played really well in his NFL debut. He started
- 12:10Speaker 6: opposite Logan Wilson at that linebacker spot, and that was really,
- 12:14Speaker 6: you know, a key going into the season was are
- 12:17Speaker 6: the Bengals going to get strong linebacker play?
- 12:19Speaker 5: And I thought they did a nice job in Week one.
- 12:21Speaker 6: Going to be seeing how they do now against Jacksonville
- 12:24Speaker 6: on Sunday. And then you even look at the secondary.
- 12:27Speaker 6: The Bengals lost Dax Hill and DJ Turner to season
- 12:30Speaker 6: ending injuries about halfway through in both of those corner spots,
- 12:34Speaker 6: and so having them back into the mix, and the
- 12:36Speaker 6: rotation has been absolutely huge. It's gonna make It's has
- 12:40Speaker 6: made a huge difference there in the secondary so far,
- 12:43Speaker 6: and I'm really eager to see how that rotation continues
- 12:46Speaker 6: to kind of evolve over the course of the season.
- 12:49Speaker 6: Because you have Cam Taylor Britt on the outside. You
- 12:52Speaker 6: have Fig Newton, who was a rookie last year, him
- 12:54Speaker 6: stepping into his second season, they're you know, looking for
- 12:57Speaker 6: him to fill some spots, and then Dax Hill and
- 12:59Speaker 6: DJ so between the four of those corners you were
- 13:02Speaker 6: expecting there to be a much more consistent cornerback play
- 13:06Speaker 6: than they had a season ago because they're finally healthy
- 13:08Speaker 6: back in that room.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Okay, cool. And then my last one for me is
- 13:11Speaker 3: just do you have any players I'm sure Joe Burrows included,
- 13:14Speaker 3: but any big names that you're like they are someone
- 13:18Speaker 3: we're focusing on going in will be a big difference
- 13:20Speaker 3: in this game for the Bengals.
- 13:22Speaker 5: That's a great question.
- 13:24Speaker 6: Obviously, as you mentioned, Joe Burrow is always going to be,
- 13:26Speaker 6: you know, that first name and that big name, and
- 13:28Speaker 6: even Jamar Chase gets you know, roped into that category two.
- 13:31Speaker 5: But I'm keeping my eye on Chase Brown.
- 13:33Speaker 6: He had a really strong first half in Cleveland, especially
- 13:37Speaker 6: that opening drive. They went to him on not only
- 13:40Speaker 6: the ground game but also in the passing game that
- 13:43Speaker 6: he got in on that rushing touchdown to put that
- 13:45Speaker 6: first put a cap on that first drive. And I
- 13:48Speaker 6: just think he's so instrumental to what the Bengals look
- 13:51Speaker 6: to do on offense because of how versatile he is,
- 13:54Speaker 6: just such.
- 13:54Speaker 5: A playmaker with the ball in his hands.
- 13:57Speaker 6: He had averaged or was you know, posting over one
- 14:00Speaker 6: hundred scrimmage yards a game from Week ten on last
- 14:03Speaker 6: season once he you know, really took over that starting running.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Back position spot.
- 14:07Speaker 6: So I would really kind of keep focused on, you know,
- 14:10Speaker 6: Chase Brown and just what he is able to do,
- 14:13Speaker 6: how the Bengals you know, utilize him beyond just the
- 14:16Speaker 6: ground game on Sunday.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Very nice, All right, we're looking forward to that week too. Matchup, Marissa,
- 14:20Speaker 3: thanks for joining us. We'll see in Cincinnati.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Thank you, looking forward to it.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Thanks to Maurissa for chatting with me about the Bengals
- 14:28Speaker 3: coming up. On jag zam though, we're gonna give you

- 14:53Speaker 5: Welcome to the future.
- 14:54Speaker 3: We're going to do our best to predict the future
- 14:56Speaker 3: a little bit and tell you what we think the
- 14:57Speaker 3: headlines are going to be for this game on Monday. Bryan,
- 15:01Speaker 3: what do you think Melaka?
- 15:02Speaker 1: Well, again, had this conversation with a number of people
- 15:05Speaker 1: who think, all right, that's a loss. You're going to Cincinnati,
- 15:08Speaker 1: you know, and they're leaning back into the Jaguars in
- 15:11Speaker 1: the last what twenty five twenty six games, you know,
- 15:14Speaker 1: twenty four and twenty three. And I work with a
- 15:17Speaker 1: different breed of cat because this Jacksonville team, led by
- 15:20Speaker 1: Leam Cohen, with Gladstone and Biselli setting the tempo and
- 15:24Speaker 1: the standard here, I think they are prepared to go play. Now,
- 15:27Speaker 1: will they win, I don't know, but I think that
- 15:29Speaker 1: they will go up and play good football on both
- 15:31Speaker 1: sides of the ball. And we got a good look
- 15:33Speaker 1: at this team last week against Carolina, and I know
- 15:36Speaker 1: that's another breed of cat, and that the Panthers aren't
- 15:38Speaker 1: that good of a football team, especially not compared to
- 15:41Speaker 1: the Cincinnai Bengals. But I expect the Jaguars to go
- 15:43Speaker 1: up there and play well. And I went with Jordan
- 15:45Speaker 1: Lewis because listen, that secondary at the end of twenty
- 15:48Speaker 1: twenty four was wounded and yet they've played so well
- 15:52Speaker 1: last week. Now they're going to have to play better
- 15:54Speaker 1: against the Bengals because that's a completely different breed of cat.
- 15:57Speaker 1: But I think that Jordan Lewis deserves a lot of
- 15:59Speaker 1: credit for the way in which he has helped transform
- 16:03Speaker 1: that unit mentally, physically. He tells me that they have
- 16:07Speaker 1: all the gifts. They've had all the gifts, but he
- 16:09Speaker 1: brought a different attitude to him, so different breed of
- 16:11Speaker 1: cat all Along plays off the Bengals plays off, the
- 16:14Speaker 1: Panthers plays off Jordan Right, There's a lot of different
- 16:17Speaker 1: angles to it. But I expect the Jaggers to go
- 16:19Speaker 1: play well and we'll see what that means.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a big game for the reasons
- 16:25Speaker 2: you cite it beat Carolina, but there is a feeling, oh, well,
- 16:29Speaker 2: should be in carolinall There's no such thing as that
- 16:30Speaker 2: in the NFL. That's how people are sort of grasping it.
- 16:34Speaker 2: So I think we will learn is this a team
- 16:37Speaker 2: that can go on the road play well again after
- 16:40Speaker 2: they played well in the opener. I went with powering
- 16:43Speaker 2: through because I think right now, if this team is
- 16:47Speaker 2: gonna win, it's gonna win because they can out physical teams.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I wasn't sure we'd see that. We did see it
- 16:54Speaker 2: in Week one. So if they win, which I think
- 16:59Speaker 2: is a tough ask against the Cincinnati team that is
- 17:02Speaker 2: clearly focused on a good start, it's everything to them
- 17:06Speaker 2: but if they win over because they power through I
- 17:09Speaker 2: mean interior, the defensive line and on the offensive line
- 17:12Speaker 2: and the right and gain.
- 17:13Speaker 3: For me, I think we're all a little not quite
- 17:16Speaker 3: sure what we're gonna see exactly. It's still early in
- 17:18Speaker 3: the season for me and for both of these teams
- 17:20Speaker 3: to have, you know, new coordinators. Knew everything here in Jacksonville,
- 17:23Speaker 3: new coordinator on defense in Cincinnati, and knowing how they
- 17:26Speaker 3: play early in the season, I'm not quite sure, but
- 17:28Speaker 3: I do know, and I feel like my focus is
- 17:30Speaker 3: going to be on the pass game for both teams.
- 17:33Speaker 3: So I say up for grabs. I'm featuring two ls
- 17:36Speaker 3: former LSU guys here Frontowns Junior and Jamar Chase. Jamar
- 17:40Speaker 3: is gonna get the ball. I know that, whether it's
- 17:42Speaker 3: a two hundred plus yard day with multiple touchdowns, that's
- 17:46Speaker 3: what the Dagwars need to avoid. They're gonna throw on
- 17:48Speaker 3: the ball. You have to win with the explosive. That's
- 17:50Speaker 3: what burned this team all of last year and early
- 17:53Speaker 3: late in the season before that. So different different secondary,
- 17:57Speaker 3: different different players out there. We talked about Jordan Lewis,
- 17:59Speaker 3: if they can limit some of what Jamar Chase does after.
- 18:03Speaker 5: He gets the ball, that will be crucial.
- 18:05Speaker 3: And I also think Brian Thomas needs to get more
- 18:07Speaker 3: involved obviously that you know, they talked about couple of miscommunications,
- 18:11Speaker 3: maybe a couple throws on Trevor weren't perfect. But this
- 18:14Speaker 3: team is best when Brian Thomas Junior is involved. I
- 18:16Speaker 3: know he had the rushing touchdown. I think they can
- 18:18Speaker 3: get him more involved. Obviously, the targets need to go
- 18:21Speaker 3: up a little bit, but I think Brian Thomas Junior
- 18:23Speaker 3: is going to need to play well because I think
- 18:24Speaker 3: you're gonna need some scoring to win insincenas, and.
- 18:27Speaker 1: We talked about it with Mark Duffner yesterday. I mean,
- 18:29Speaker 1: Joe Burrow is that quarterback who puts fear in you,
- 18:34Speaker 1: right like Tom Brady used to, like Peyton Manning used to,
- 18:37Speaker 1: when the ball is in their hands late, especially with
- 18:40Speaker 1: t Higgins who is in and of himself a number
- 18:42Speaker 1: one receiver and Jamar Chase, you can go up and
- 18:44Speaker 1: play great football and in the span of thirty seconds
- 18:48Speaker 1: lose the game. So you're gonna have to put points
- 18:51Speaker 1: out this week.
- 18:51Speaker 3: It's gonna be a lot of back and forth and
- 18:53Speaker 3: a lot of fighting through adversity, which we know is
- 18:55Speaker 3: important for this team to understand and battle through as
- 18:59Speaker 3: a single Wung says here we will tell you what's
- 19:01Speaker 3: coming up the rest of the week and give you
- 19:03Speaker 3: a preview with Sounds of the Game.

- 19:55Speaker 3: want to check out relive that victory over the Panthers.
- 19:58Speaker 3: It's on Jaguars dot com and jag or YouTube page
- 20:00Speaker 3: dropped late last night. It's always nice to hear the.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Sounds of the game of a win.
- 20:06Speaker 3: What Yes, John loves all the sounds though, loves the hunt,
- 20:09Speaker 3: loves all the production sounds in general. John, when we
- 20:14Speaker 3: go on the road, we've talked about this team battling
- 20:17Speaker 3: through adversity, whatever that might be. You know, a rain
- 20:19Speaker 3: delay of early penalties. Going on the road is a
- 20:22Speaker 3: little bit different. So is this something you think Coach
- 20:25Speaker 3: Coin is going to kind of address with them. I mean,
- 20:27Speaker 3: obviously it's a new regime, so it'll be talked about
- 20:29Speaker 3: in some regard, but going on the road against a
- 20:31Speaker 3: good team and getting a win. It takes a little
- 20:33Speaker 3: bit different kind of game plan.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a different test, and he will talk to
- 20:38Speaker 2: him about it. As I said earlier, I think we'll
- 20:41Speaker 2: learn something about this team this week in terms of
- 20:45Speaker 2: how much we saw in Week one was real. That
- 20:48Speaker 2: doesn't necessarily to me mean they have to win, Brian,
- 20:51Speaker 2: but you want to see a team that can go
- 20:55Speaker 2: up and stand toe to toe and feel like you're
- 20:59Speaker 2: on even footing with another very good team. I think
- 21:03Speaker 2: they'll handle the road well because I think the people
- 21:07Speaker 2: running this organization, I think Liam think they're focused on
- 21:10Speaker 2: the right things, and I think it's a professional football team,
- 21:14Speaker 2: and I think professional football team is generally handle the
- 21:16Speaker 2: road well.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Well.
- 21:17Speaker 2: It's important to do it.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I said in the last SEGM, maybe a different breeded cat.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I think this Jacksonville team is different than the one
- 21:23Speaker 1: that we watched last year. In the second half of
- 21:25Speaker 1: twenty twenty three, Liam Cohen is building a resilient football team.
- 21:29Speaker 1: To lean on that word again, but back in the spring,
- 21:32Speaker 1: he told these teams they had to work on their
- 21:34Speaker 1: own resilience, they had to prepare themselves for adversity, and
- 21:38Speaker 1: he's used that word a lot this week in talking
- 21:41Speaker 1: about this game. I just in talking to the guys
- 21:44Speaker 1: in the locker room this week, they understand that. I
- 21:46Speaker 1: think they're ready for when they're down ten points, just
- 21:49Speaker 1: assuming that something like that happens, or you're up ten
- 21:51Speaker 1: points and all of a sudden you give up a
- 21:53Speaker 1: pick six, I mean, when something bad happens at that moment.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I think we're going to learn something about this football team,
- 21:58Speaker 1: how far they've come and be resilient. I think we
- 22:01Speaker 1: saw a step last week against Carolina. You enumerated all
- 22:03Speaker 1: the reasons on the Monday Show, but I think this game,
- 22:06Speaker 1: in particular, because it's Joe Burrow, it's in Cincinnati, on
- 22:08Speaker 1: the road, and it's the first road game for Liam,
- 22:11Speaker 1: I think we're gonna learn a lot about this team
- 22:12Speaker 1: this week.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Ye if the good teams I've been around have approached
- 22:15Speaker 2: the road with a feeling of all right, we're gonna
- 22:17Speaker 2: go show these sixty thousand people what's what, and it
- 22:21Speaker 2: hasn't been a game when they go it's hey, we're good.
- 22:25Speaker 2: We're going to show you we're good, and we don't
- 22:27Speaker 2: care on the road. It's a subtle difference, but you
- 22:30Speaker 2: can't go thinking you're gonna have fun. You gotta go
- 22:32Speaker 2: thinking you're gonna win and show and show people what's what.
- 22:34Speaker 3: It's a business trip, gentlemen. Enjoy the game this weekend.
- 22:38Speaker 3: We will be back on Monday here on jag Zam
- 22:40Speaker 3: to recap everything for you from Week two against the Bengals.
