- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the Claymore Become Who You Are podcast, a production of the John Paul Tour Renewal Center.
- 0:05SPEAKER_01: I'm Jack Riegert, your host.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: I'm here with a good friend on the Claymore leadership team.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: He's a wonderful evangelist, really has a heart for young men.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: He's been at it for a long time, longer than we care to think about.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: Dan McSweeney, say hello, will you?
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: Jack, good morning.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Great to see you.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Uh the Claymore battle plan that we're going to be talking about today.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: So so far, if you watch the podcast, and I hope everybody watched the podcast that came out earlier in the week, you know, in that podcast, I played a little clip from uh Brett Wine uh Weinstein and and he was on a Tucker Carlson show.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: And he was and they finally got to in this little clip that I played.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: It's worth seeing.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: I think you should go back and see it if you haven't.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: The banality of evil.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: It's a normal normalization really of sin and the normalization of evil.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: It's around us.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: And so many people are oblivious to the spiritual battle that we're in.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: And you're seeing it, Dan.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Are we?
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: We're seeing it all over the destruction of marriages and the families, taking the heart out of these young guys that we're talking to.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: And we got to, we, we, we're we're here to work and journey with them because we went through that as young men, and we're seeing what the twisting and distortion that this culture can do and the evil one can do in young men's hearts, their marriages, their families, their future marriages or families.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: And it's taking down the whole culture right now.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: It's like sitting in that, you know, with that proverbial frog in that pot, and the pot gets warmer and hotter and hotter, and finally you boil to death in there, and you don't even jump out.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: You know, you just got so used to it.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: And that's what we're seeing.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Just men that become passive, um, you know, get addicted to porn and all kinds of other addictions, and and don't even try to fight their way out of it out of it anymore.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: They've normalized this in their lives, and that's not what we're created for, is it?
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: No, it's not, Jack.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: And to your point, uh I can't help but think of uh the Gospel of John and the advocate.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Just before the ascension, Jesus tells the disciples, hey guys, I'm heading back to the Father.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: He says, keep your eyes on the prize.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: The ruler of this world has no power over me.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: So it's been written that the evil one would have the grip that he has on the culture that he has today.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: And as you perfectly stated, you know, we live in an era now where you look at somebody and they sin, there's no such thing as sin.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: You know, this is the 21st century.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: What are you talking about, man?
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: We're so blinded, you know, Jack, the reality is the evil one is cunning, baffling, and powerful.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: And if we're not on the road that we need to be on, staying close to the Lord through prayer and meditation, it's very easy to get drawn into that whole scenario where you look around the circle and say, gee, everything's fine.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: I'm not doing anything different than anybody else.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: It's true.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: You know, there is a time, probably only 10 years ago, pre pre-COVID, where if we talked about these things to young men, they'd say, Oh my gosh, you know, don't don't talk to me about you know scripture and all this kind of stuff, you know.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: You know, you just put rules, I mean, to make my life difficult.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: And then they found out that it's that that there's something wrong, and they're waking up, aren't they?
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: It's amazing.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: It's it's so beautiful to see these young guys.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: And and it's not like young girls aren't, but somehow the young guys are a little ahead of it.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: I think it's just, you know, a man's makeup is that he he tends to be a little bit more rational when it comes to these things.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, he he wants to step back and go, something's wrong here.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: You know, what is the truth of things?
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: And a woman's makeup is just, you know, this uh radical relationship and very emotional and to get caught up in the emotions of it.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: And I think that's the beautiful compliment between a man and a woman is that she's super relational, like my wife.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: It's not a bad thing, it's just her makeup.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: She keeps me connected to the kids, the grandkids, my friends, etc.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: But, you know, I have to breathe that voice of reason every once in a while and sit back and say, honey, you know, look around and remember that there these people, these friends of ours, are getting divorced, and they're, you know, you we we call them good Christian, say, couples and stuff.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: Why are they still getting divorced?
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Why are so many of our children suffering?
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: There's something else going on here, and you just brought it up, Dan.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: It's the evil one is around us.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Guys are waking up now.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: And so that's what Claymore is all about, isn't it?
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Claymore, Militas Christi, Soldiers for Christ.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: That's the big Claymore sword behind us.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: We're in a battle, aren't we, Dan?
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: We are, Jack.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: We're in a fierce battle.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: The battle is real.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: You know, unfortunately, as we've kind of touched on, a lot of people just are not aware of the reality of that.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: They just don't see it because they're, you know, they're so numb to what our creator calls us to because of the distortion and the perversion that the evil one has, you know, presented and and forced into our culture.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And, you know, without a battle plan, it's the old, you gotta stand for something or you're gonna fall for anything, you know.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: And I think that's the beauty of this of the Claymore battle plan.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: It sets out a very simple yet profound daily routine that allows you to start your day with prayer and meditation, you offer up your life to God.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: And you know, to take a step back, Jack, what you talked about uh the idea of having these rules and we have to follow this, we have to follow that.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: But what people don't really realize is this the Ten Commandments were created for a reason and a purpose, and that was to set us free.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Because if I'm not living by the Ten Commandments, I am actually enslaved to sin.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm following that that that you know that culture push of do this, do that, you have to be this, you have to be that, you're not enough, you know.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: So it's ultimately the Ten Commandments that set us free.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: It's very interesting when I when I'm speaking to a group, and I remember a woman made a comment.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: I could see her on her face, you know, she's she's not uh enamored with with what I was speaking about.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: And it's hard because what happens is I meet so many people that call themselves agnostic or even atheists.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: And what you realize when you speak to them is they're living that normalization of sin and they don't want to change.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: And it's much easier just to say, no, God doesn't exist, you know, the Ten Commandments don't exist, etc.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: But I asked her then, I said she because she said the same thing you just said, isn't the church just a bunch of rules?
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: You know, just put rules and rules on us.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: And I said, Well, you know, think about the Ten Commandments.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: Which which rules don't you like?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Honor your parents.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: No, I think that's probably a good rule.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: Okay, number five.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: So the first three are about God, right?
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: About this vertical relationship.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: But now I started at number four.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: And uh, and then number five, do not kill.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: And she goes, Well, yeah, you know, I we probably shouldn't kill.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: And I said, you know, think about this.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Think about the freedom.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: If we say everybody can kill, you see a lot of violence.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: We're out of sh outside of Chicago.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: I was born in Chicago.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, you see violence on the street all the time, you know, to the point where people can't even leave their homes a lot of times or let their kids just play outside.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: So is that freedom?
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: I said to her, and she goes, No.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: I said, then then how am I free when when those people stop killing, right?
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: And and so that frees me to go outside and roam around the the building, right?
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: So what's number six?
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: Don't commit adultery.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: So I said, You're married, you said, right?
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: She's got her husband next to her.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: And I said, So he can just go out and cheat, or you can just cheat.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, that's not okay.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Okay, so you like that commandment.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: So let's get to the next one.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Seven, do not steal.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: I said, I are you a thief?
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: You know, and she goes, No, I'm not a thief.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: So why do I said, why do we have that commandment?
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: So nobody steals from you.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: So nobody steals from you.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: And so you go right down the list.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: And it's and she agreed with all of them.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: And I go, well, you know, what was the thing here?
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Now, how about covet your your your neighbor's wife and your neighbor's goods, you know, and just be jealous all the time because they got more.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: I, you know, I'd say it'll drive you crazy.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: No, I I I get all those, I guess.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: I said, I bet you it's the sexual sins, right?
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: You want to uh contracept or you think that the man from the church is teaching has got this power over you and all this type of stuff.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: But I said, you don't understand church teaching if you think that.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: And I'll leave you with this one thing, Dan.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: When I first came back into the church, I took out my pen and paper.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: I thought I'm okay, I'm excited.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: I'm coming back into the church.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: I had a reversion experience.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: I picked up that big book uh called The Catechism, you know, this this big book, it's pretty thick, everything about the church.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: And I thought, okay, I'm gonna study this thing.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: I got a pen and paper, I'm ready to take notes, thinking it's gonna be about morality and rules and all this stuff, and I'm a sinner or whatever.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, but I was in.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: And you know how it starts, Dan?
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Section one, chapter one, the paragraph one, it starts with desire.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: It starts with desire, it starts with authentic love.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: It tells me these deep desires, these burning, yearning desires in our hearts to love and be loved.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: That's how it starts out, brother.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: It's a love story.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: And you go, whoa, I put down the pen, I put down the pad of paper, and I just meditated on that.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: And it's just that God is an eternal exchange of love, and we're destined to share in that forever.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: But eternity doesn't start tomorrow.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Eternity means forever.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: We are already eternal beings.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: The day we were exploded onto this stage and called into this love story, and people don't get that.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: If you get that, that this is about authentic love and being loved, and that God is love, it changes everything, Danny.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: That's what we're talking about here today.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: So when we talk about rules, yeah, it's it's rules not to use somebody else.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: You know, you see the powerful, the politicians, the corrupt people just using me, using me, pornography, using the person.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: And now you become a self-gift.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: You turn that inside out, and and you find happiness, you find authentic love, and you find freedom.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: Not not easy in today's time, but we got to wake up to that because otherwise you'll never find what you're looking for.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, amen to that, Jack.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: And and and to your point, you know, I'm the reality is, you know, we look back at the very beginning.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: The beginning is Genesis, and we were created out of love by love for each other, right?
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: And you take that and you look at, you know, um what we're called to be and who we're called to be, and who created us, and then you look at the other side of that, and you look at what the culture is like and how the evil one is working through the culture and through society, you know, there's a battle there, there's a conflict there.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: And the battle is real.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: It's it's a spiritual battle, it's a battle for your soul.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And you know, the reality is that the battle is raging.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: You know, the evil one unfortunately attacks the most vulnerable.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: You look at you know, our society today, you know, an infant, an unborn baby in its mother's womb should be the safest place in the world, right?
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: But it's not, you know, we live in the Holocaust, the biggest Holocaust of the world, Holocaust of abortion.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, Jack, I'll tell you, the other day I was at Morning Mass and on Wednesdays, the uh the the little the little kids they they sing in the choir.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: And I was just I was so captivated and awe at that mass by the beauty of their angelic voices.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: And somehow in the back of my mind I thought, you know, so beautiful, such beauty, such innocence, and right outside the door there, the evil one is waiting to attack.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: You know, no one is exempt, Jack.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have anything to do with age, race, religion.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: The evil one discriminates against no one.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: That battle is is is fierce and it's raging, and without a plan, we're done.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because there was a time, I mean, that's a great point.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: There was a time where you could get bullied in the school or you'd see evil around you, but at least when you got home, you had a safe place and you didn't carry this thing in with you.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Now this thing goes in with you.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: You you you no longer have a safe place.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Here's the other thing, though, and here's for the young guys, it's not your fault a lot of these things that are even happening to you.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: Even porn addictions, Dan.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: You know, it's so important for young guys to understand this.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: That innocence that you were talking about, you know, some of these guys never had a chance really to experience a childhood of innocence.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: You know, too many of them have grown up in dysfunctional families, are lonely.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: You know, you know, we don't have many children and families anymore.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: They have no siblings to share the story with.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: And so that's part of Claymore, too.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Part of Claymore is asking them, come on, inviting them in uh, you know, to relationships, you know, to to uh men, they're gonna meet men that you know can help, you know, help them with that void sometimes.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: You know, if I don't have a father in the home or a an abusive father, and you start to talk to me about God the father, I go, well, you know, if he's anything like my father, I don't I don't really need him in my life.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: And it's very, very difficult to understand that God the Father is the model of this merciful, loving father.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: It's the it's the father from the prodigal son, you know, where you know they the son had had left and got into all kinds of trouble, and now he's coming back home because he's destitute.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: And the father in this story now, in the biblical story, is is always looking at the horizon, always waiting for maybe that son of mine will return home.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: And when he sees him in the distance, you know, he runs out and he celebrates.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: And and this is the biblical story, you know.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: This is this is the father who always is looking, I'll leave the 99 behind the sheep, and I'm gonna go for that lost sheep.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: And and so that happened for me, that happened for you, that happened to almost all our friends, right?
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: That um we we finally experienced God the Father sending his son that actually searches for you.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: And the last thing I'll just say real quick before I send it back to you is if you start out with the with the very first chapter of John's gospel, these two disciples of John the Baptist start following Jesus.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: It's so beautiful this story.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: And Jesus turns to them and says, What do you seek?
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: What are you looking for?
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: And then they said to him, Rabbi, which means teacher, where are you staying?
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: In other words, they heard Jesus, it touched their hearts.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Jesus turns to them and says, He doesn't he doesn't give them some speech.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: He says, What are you seeking?
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Because he knows it's already in their heart.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: And then when they ask him, Where are you staying?
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Because they want to hear more, what does he do?
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: He doesn't give them a propaganda, he he doesn't give them uh, you know, some sermon on sin.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: He says, Come and see.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Come and see.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: That's the whole biblical story.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Come and see.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: And that's what that's what Claymore Militus Christie is all about.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: It's it's coming in to see the beauty of the story.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: And then you realize, Danny, these three things that a man is set up for adventure.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: He wants an adventure, he knows it's gonna be a battle.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: That's why young guys are always fighting with swords and you know, playguns and stuff like that.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: And then the last thing we find out it's all about beauty, and especially the beauty of authentic love.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: So that journey, that adventure is to find love, authentic love.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: And that I'm not talking about just marital love.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, just to love everyone that you come in contact with.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: And we know it's gonna be a battle.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: This is and it starts on the battlefield of a man's heart between love and lust, becoming a person of using somebody and grasping, or become turning that inside out and becoming a gift to other people, and and you're attracted to that beauty, especially the beauty of a woman, right?
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: Like, oh man, she's so beautiful.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: What is that, right?
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: God plants those seeds in our in our hearts.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, amen to that, Jack.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: And to your point, you know, uh, we are all products of our environment.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: And as you said, these young men, you know, they were raised in a family, perhaps a broken home, a fatherless home, and you know, a lot of uh craziness, a lot of insanity.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: And, you know, that's all you know.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: That's how you were raised.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: And then you move out into the culture and you see the same stuff going on.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: So you look around and you think everything's normal.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: But, you know, you get to a point.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: I've talked to many young men myself where they realize something isn't right here, you know.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: They're seeking something, they're looking for something.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: They think there's gotta be more to it than the empty promises of the culture, the lies of the evil one.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: You know, they don't know the terminology, but they know the scenario.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: They know what's going on in their own life, and they're seeking and they're searching.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: And, you know, it's so beautiful when you have the opportunity to talk to them and share with them and share, especially like the Claymore plan.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: You know, that battle plan, again, it's a very profound plan, it's a very simple plan, and it sets you up so you can have a conscious contact with God, and you can turn to him in your day, and you can, you know, hey, I need some help.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Hey, thank you for this.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: And, you know, to help you at to your point, you know, to seek out what what's my mission here, you know.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: We all have the same mission, whether we realize it or not.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: It's to serve God and to love God.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: And we are to love God through our brothers, right?
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: And you know, between the the 10-minute morning ritual and the 52x, it's a perfect plan to get on the road that that your heart is calling you to.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Because again, as you mentioned in the catechism, the very first thing is our heart, our heart's desire.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: What what what were we created for, you know?
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: And again, it's a that's a beautiful, it's a beautiful plan.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: So it's it's it's it's an out to to what the culture has to offer and to find what we were authentically created for.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: As we start to think about winding down here, I just want to leave these guys uh with this message that that's that's what the Claymore outline is is all about.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: You can download this for free at Claymore Militus Christie.com.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: Hopefully everybody listening has already done that.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: That's a six-pager.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: That that that gets you into the story above the weeds.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: You know, that's a read that you can do, you know, in one quick sitting.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: You get the whole idea.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And then the Claymore Battle Plan Handbook that fills that content and tells you what sort of tale will be falling into.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Most of the guys listening are on the A team here.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: They're they're A students, Dan.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: And so here's here's our recommendation for the A Team team.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: It's called 10-5.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: 10 minutes in the morning on your knees before you look at that phone, before you let this outside garbage come in.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: Uh you know, go to your knees, open up your heart, you'll see it all in the outline there, how to do that.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: And then the Claymore Battle Plan Handbook, I would I call it the 10-5.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: So you're 10 minutes in the morning on your knees.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: The best 10 minutes you're going to spend all day getting everything lined up a little.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: And then at night, I like to read this at night.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: And the five minutes means every single night read one act from that book.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: These aren't long chapters, guys.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: This act that we're talking about now, it's act, it means a brief, like a short chapter.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: That's what we call them acts.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: They and they give you these little action things to do too.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: So this is I act three, it's two and a half pages.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: And so this is not going to take you long to read.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: So do that at night before you go to sleep.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: I I like to read it with with scripture for mass the next day.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: And between scripture and one of those acts, it takes me 15 minutes total, but only five minutes to read this.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: And then I read a little extra scripture.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: And and man, that's a great way to fall asleep.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: And that's all.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: In 52 days, then, instead of waiting 52 weeks, right?
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: One one act for every week of the year.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: If you're on the A team, if you're an A student, you want to get this thing done, you know, just read one of those every night.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: And in 52 days, before summer, actually, before the official date of summer, you will have laid out a beautiful formation.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: You would you'll get your hearts back.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: You'll you'll you'll be changed, Dan.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: You will be changed.
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: You'll know it.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: You'll know something happened to your heart because you're going vertical in the morning.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: Then you're filling in the context, you're filling your heart, your mind with good stuff, and start to share that.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Don't don't do this alone, and you'll find out.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: God will put people right in front of you, right in your circle that you start to share this with.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: There's Q ⁇ A after each act.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: And it's so important because of what we said earlier to build up relationships with men that are on the same path as you.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: You know, Jesus sent us out two by two, didn't he?
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: He didn't send you out alone because he knows that we were built for relationship, you know, to love God and to love others.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: And so journey, journey with other people, and you'll you're gonna find that you're it's got a whole new world of relationships is gonna open up to you.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: You're gonna meet other men and women that are that are in general that are going to be on this journey and you can help them, they're gonna help you.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: It's really beautiful as you you walk into it.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: I I love that thought, Jack.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: That that mindset that you go to bed with is going to be the mindset you wake up with.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: That's it, that's a beautiful thought.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Because see, here's what happens, and this is why prayer is so important.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Because, you know, when you are just drifting down the river, you know, just floating around the the river, like we said, normalization of sin, everything, you know, you know something's Wrong, but you just keep floating on down.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Now, what happens when you stand up and you start to learn the story?
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Satan's going to come after you.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: This is why it's so important to pray, and this is why it's so important to share with other people because the day I'm getting attacked, you know, you can help me.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: And the day you're getting really attacked, or you're feeling down, I can help you.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: And we build up these communities and we say, hey, Dan, you know, don't worry about it.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: The enemy's attacking you, dude.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: Get get over it, you know.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: Lift yourself up and uh and know it.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: See, when you know you're in the battle, you say, okay, something's oppressing me today.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: Well, it really is.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: And so it's very uh in and if you go through the handbook, it's gonna help you discern all those things.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: But in the meantime, when you're starting, you might feel some attack because when your heart starts to change, when you know God is gonna go in and change it.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: Well, the evil one doesn't want to just give you up too easily.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: He's gonna fight for you too.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: He wants to twist and destroy everything God made good.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: And you know, Satan doesn't have his own clay, does he, Dan?
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: He he can only take what God created good, which is you, everybody listening, you were created good.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: You got twisted and distorted.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: God wants to untwist and undistort you, bring him into a relationship with you so that you can have wonderful relationships right here, right in this world.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: You know, it's not waiting till, like I said, till you die.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: You start to live that out today, and you'll know.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: You'll know, you'll encounter Christ.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: You know, this isn't more information, uh, this is the DNA that runs through our our whole bodies, our bodies and souls.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, amen.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: And you know, the fellowship and then the camaraderie, the bond there that we have, it's a beautiful thing.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: None of us are on the journey alone.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: We have each other, and that you know, that's one of the greatest gifts that God has given us, the blessing of each other.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so go to Claymore Militus Christie uh.com and and uh sign up there.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: You'll see uh a place you can sign up as a disciple, someone new coming in.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: If you've been at this for a while and you want to uh be you know formed and help us lead uh other young men, sign up under leader.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: You know, usually it's a crossover.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, I'm learning the same time I'm I'm I'm journeying with another guy.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: The disciple learns very quickly, and then he becomes the leader of his brother, his friends, etc.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: etc.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: And it's it starts to ripple out.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: When it ripples out, you'll see it starts to affect everything around you in the relationships that you have and the dysfunction.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: You you you'll be uh you'll be able to help people all over, and that ripples out into the culture, it starts to change the culture, and it'll start to change our country.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, if you do get married and you do have children, you're you're gonna bring them into a very broken culture and a very nation that's actually could crumble if we don't bring this light back into it again.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Uh so peep but peep the good news is people are fighting all over, they're waking up to this.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: I I would say it's a battle, uh Dan.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: It's like a civil war going on out there, but the civil war is between good and evil, between truth and lies, between beauty and everything that we'll want to profane beauty.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: So there is a civil war going on out there.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: It's it's uh building up the city of God or or or or the city of man who says, ah, there's no God, we'll we'll figure this out on our own.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: And it's always a twisting and a distortion.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: So that's the battle we're in.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: You know, and it's it's it's just reality, but you can find your way out.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: That's the good news.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: We call the gospel the good news for a reason.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: Amen to that, Jack.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: Amen to that.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: And the Claymore Battle Plan is the answer.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Great stuff.
