- 1:30SPEAKER_07: I was about to spell it out, so he stopped me.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we wouldn't be able to put that on the radio.
- 1:35SPEAKER_07: KSJ after call.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we would want to recognize K SJ.
- 1:40SPEAKER_03: We thanked them very much for the preferring allowing us to invade their space every Sunday at 11 o'clock.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: Also, we want to give out our email address.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: It's what is our email address?
- 1:50SPEAKER_03: The General's Wake Up Call.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: All one word, all lowercase at gmail.com.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: The General's Wake Up Call.
- 1:56SPEAKER_07: And that's D-A General.
- 1:57SPEAKER_03: Yes, that's correct.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: Not duh D-U-T.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: Although that would have been good too.
- 2:02SPEAKER_07: It took me way too long to realize it's duh general because David.
- 2:06SPEAKER_07: David Mills.
- 2:06SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: Well, I had to change it.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: That's back in the franchise years ago.
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: I started out as the General Mills.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: And in those days, uh some General Mills rep, I was in Texas on the main highway, and he stopped in the studio and said, uh, do you have rights to use that name?
- 2:24SPEAKER_03: I said, It's my name.
- 2:26SPEAKER_03: It's my nickname.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: Because you know you can't use that.
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: But nowadays, they want that.
- 2:31SPEAKER_03: They want that publicity.
- 2:32SPEAKER_07: It's free publicity.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: So weird.
- 2:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: So I can go back to just General Mills, but I, you know, I it's been around long enough.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: Most people still call me General.
- 2:41SPEAKER_03: The email address is duh D-A-General S.
- 2:45SPEAKER_03: Wakeupcall at gmail.com.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: And our phone number, 505-512-3179.
- 2:51SPEAKER_03: We have a call that I want to share with people, too.
- 2:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you can't.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Next message is sent Thursday, April 21st at 127 p.m.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: We need to talk about your podcast.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: You got a guy on there.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Last name is Matheus of Jennings or something like that.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: But you have said an all-time low bar over this guy.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: You need to get him off the air.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: It's not killer.
- 3:21SPEAKER_07: I love how you cut him off.
- 3:23SPEAKER_07: It's got killer.
- 3:26SPEAKER_07: As though you like grabbed him and prevented him from saying anything else.
- 3:31SPEAKER_03: That's okay.
- 3:31SPEAKER_03: I you know, I I have my haters.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: I have my lovers.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: Fortunately, my lovers out hate out easy number my haters.
- 3:38SPEAKER_07: Good.
- 3:38SPEAKER_07: So you don't want to scorn those lovers unless they turn into haters.
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: Maybe he's a scorned whole ex-lover.
- 3:46SPEAKER_07: We're so sorry, sir.
- 3:48SPEAKER_07: We promised Dave has changed.
- 3:50SPEAKER_07: I'm just kind of hurt that he didn't mention me.
- 3:54SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 3:54SPEAKER_03: Well, see, he must like you.
- 3:55SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 3:57SPEAKER_07: I don't know how I feel about that.
- 3:59SPEAKER_07: I'm not doing something right if he's if he still likes me, but oh, nice.
- 4:03SPEAKER_03: Oh, thank you, Rand.
- 4:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's pretty good.
- 4:06SPEAKER_03: Alright, listen, we're gonna give our tribute to David Bowie.
- 4:08SPEAKER_03: I'm excited to do this.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: We I was excited the last time.
- 4:11SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 4:12SPEAKER_03: I I think I have the same enthusiasm, maybe a little bit more.
- 4:15SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:15SPEAKER_07: I I always have the same enthusiasm for David Bowie.
- 4:18SPEAKER_07: And uh I think this one will be a little more streamlined since I have so much to say about him.
- 4:22SPEAKER_07: Oh, fantastic.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: Well, what are we gonna start off with?
- 4:24SPEAKER_07: I was gonna start off with probably his first ever hit, one that sounds still brand new, even though it was like came out in 1969.
- 4:31SPEAKER_07: This is Space Oddity.
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: Oh, I love this song.
- 4:59SPEAKER_06: Ground control to major tongue take your protein pills and put your helmet on ground control to major tones, commencing countdown engines on three, two, check ignition, and make God's love be with you This is ground control to make your tongue You really make the break And the papers want to know who's got you wet Now it's time to leave the capital to be a dead It is made to come to ground control I'm stepping through the dog And I'm floating in the most beautifully away And the stars look very different to death for Am I sitting in the tin War above the War is blue and there's nothing I can do one last one which way to go to the U.S.
- 9:17SPEAKER_07: To me that's the sound of because you know it's about an astronaut being sucked into a black hole being sent to another dimension.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: Oh no kidding.
- 9:24SPEAKER_07: Yeah, if you listen to the lyrics And so they were playing oh yeah, I was telling Dave during the break, um, you know, some of the TV stations around the world that were playing the moon landing, the live footage would also play music.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: The original moon landing.
- 9:38SPEAKER_07: The original moon landing the 1960s when it was live, they would play music just to fill in the silence, and uh they would play space themed music.
- 9:45SPEAKER_07: Um a lot of the stations played space oddity, David Bowie's song, which always confused Bowie because he was like, don't they know what this is about?
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: No, they didn't they had no clue.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: No, no, and see that was the way it was in those days.
- 9:58SPEAKER_03: Only the young people really know knew what was being said.
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: And then you had some of those ministers in those days that listened.
- 10:06SPEAKER_03: That's how the devil's music came out and all that kind of stuff where they played record back.
- 10:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly, exactly.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: So yeah, it was well listen, I kind of I can't let the total cat out of the bag, but we may have a surprise coming up in the next few weeks that uh uh will be well, it's exciting for both of us, and I don't want to jinx anything just yet, but um you may be hearing us more in other places.
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: Maybe, maybe we'll we'll just we're still working on trying to get on um serious XM, but uh this is something that'll be more be quicker and it's it is more localized, but it's still in the Four Corners area.
- 10:46SPEAKER_07: Still in the Four Corners area, yeah.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: So we can definitely send our love out to all those people elsewhere, how great a place this is to live, to work, and to prosper.
- 10:56SPEAKER_07: But farther and wider we'll have a more powerful signal.
- 10:59SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, will we ever yes be unstoppable?
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 11:04SPEAKER_03: All right, so we're giving tribute to David Bowie.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: I I absolutely uh uh respect this guy.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: I I we talked a little bit about how he passed away.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: He was in his 70s, right?
- 11:14SPEAKER_03: Is that what we figured?
- 11:15SPEAKER_07: He was 69.
- 11:16SPEAKER_07: 69, almost 70.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and um and you know, and I always heard that it was an overdose, but you know that it was troubled with cancer, yeah.
- 11:25SPEAKER_07: He had it for years and years, um, and he worked on an album uh during it all that he planned to uh release after he passed.
- 11:33SPEAKER_07: After he passed away.
- 11:34SPEAKER_07: And he didn't really tell anyone.
- 11:36SPEAKER_07: So when he did finally pass away, it was a huge shock to all of us.
- 11:40SPEAKER_07: Myself included, because by 2016 it was a big data that we can.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: That's why I thought it was uh drug overdose, because it kind of shocked me as well.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: It came out of nowhere.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I thought, well, maybe it's you know the like prints and uh you know, taking the those uh that stuff to so they continue to so they can perform.
- 11:57SPEAKER_03: You know, that's how they did that.
- 11:58SPEAKER_03: Michael Jackson, the same thing.
- 12:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: And uh break your heart, but well let's pull David Bowie out of that category and put him in his category of his very own.
- 12:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I think it's pretty dang cool that he planned to have an album on the city.
- 12:14SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, are you kidding?
- 12:15SPEAKER_07: That is so neat.
- 12:16SPEAKER_07: Sorry.
- 12:16SPEAKER_07: We love you, David.
- 12:18SPEAKER_07: So this is this next one is uh from his first album that really kind of made it big.
- 12:23SPEAKER_07: Uh Hunky Dory, which is my favorite album.
- 12:26SPEAKER_03: It's a little bit more that used to be a saying, too.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm hunky dory today.
- 12:32SPEAKER_03: I wonder if he started that.
- 12:34SPEAKER_07: You know, it could be.
- 12:35SPEAKER_07: I got a little bit of a chance.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: That was a trivia question for you.
- 12:37SPEAKER_07: I was gonna play changes because everybody knows and loves changes.
- 12:40SPEAKER_07: That is the final song he played on his final concert and his final tour.
- 12:45SPEAKER_07: Um it's the one he got the most request for.
- 12:47SPEAKER_07: But I'm gonna play my favorite song.
- 12:49SPEAKER_03: I love it.
- 12:50SPEAKER_07: Owe you pretty things.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: It's our show.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: We can do what we damn on, please.
- 12:53SPEAKER_07: We do what we damn on, please.
- 12:56SPEAKER_03: I'm hunky dory, Rand.
- 13:13SPEAKER_05: Wake up you sleepy head, put on some clothes, shake up your bed.
- 13:23SPEAKER_05: I made some breakfast and coffee.
- 13:26SPEAKER_05: Look out my window, what do I see?
- 13:29SPEAKER_05: Crack in the sky, and a hell preaching down to me All the nightmares came to day stuff there, just a little for me, no funny for you.
- 14:07SPEAKER_05: All the same skin today.
- 14:37SPEAKER_06: Let me make it play.
- 14:39SPEAKER_05: Gotta make way for the gala children, see the faces in golden rays.
- 14:49SPEAKER_05: Don't get yourself never long to you.
- 14:55SPEAKER_05: The others are bitch, we finish the nose.
- 14:58SPEAKER_05: I must be the under the grounds.
- 15:02SPEAKER_05: All the strangers came today.
- 15:06SPEAKER_05: The looks as a day.
- 15:11SPEAKER_06: Oh you print the names.
- 15:23SPEAKER_06: Oh, you print the games.
- 15:33SPEAKER_06: Let me make it play.
- 15:34SPEAKER_06: Gotta make way for the whole superior.
- 16:08SPEAKER_07: I was explaining to you.
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: So yeah, hit me again because it's it's uh yeah.
- 16:16SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 16:56SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
- 16:57SPEAKER_07: I will try to make it small too.
- 16:58SPEAKER_07: First and foremost, I want people to know that Frederick Nietzsche is, after he died, his brother-in-law got a hold of all of his manuscripts and added a lot of unsavory uh anti-Semitism to it.
- 17:11SPEAKER_07: So when I talk about Nietzsche, I'm talking about the real Nietzsche, not the gross misunderstanding people have of it.
- 17:17SPEAKER_07: Um David Bowie was a huge fan of Nietzsche, and he really was a fan of his concept of the Superman, how slowly throughout the generations, humanity is slowly becoming more and more intelligent and compassionate, we're getting more and more super.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: As we evolve.
- 17:33SPEAKER_07: As we evolve.
- 17:34SPEAKER_07: And so David Bowie kind of took that concept of like what it would feel like to be the elders to uh a new burdening generation that has all these bizarre ideas and has all these weird concepts of how the world should be, how scary that would be for the older generation, but how it's actually uh a good thing because kids are supposed to be the bringers of the new That's the way life is now.
- 17:59SPEAKER_03: You know, I'm I'm I get scared about the young generation.
- 18:03SPEAKER_03: But there's hope.
- 18:05SPEAKER_07: There's hope, but there's always some good ones in there.
- 18:07SPEAKER_07: And remember, the kids can be kind of dumb.
- 18:09SPEAKER_07: They learn them.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: A lot of them learn.
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, it's that's how come you're that's how come you're resilient when you're younger.
- 18:17SPEAKER_03: That we especially like when you're uh uh a young kid, your bones are not totally developed, they're not brutal yet.
- 18:23SPEAKER_03: So that's designed so you can fall off the bed or you can't.
- 18:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you can fall off the tree.
- 18:28SPEAKER_07: Yes, right.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: Can't fall off a tree.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: Uh you might crack a bone, maybe even break one, but it's resilient enough that you bounce back quickly.
- 18:37SPEAKER_07: You get back up.
- 18:37SPEAKER_03: Whereas me, if I broke a bone, if I fell down, I'd break more than just one bone, and probably, you know, it'd be a while to recover.
- 18:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I'm even at 27, I'm getting to that age where if I hurt my knee, I gotta take care of it for the next couple of days.
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, I'm gonna tell you, I I'm sure part of your problem is because I had the same thing, I grew like six inches.
- 18:57SPEAKER_03: My sophomore, but the summer between my sophomore and my junior year of high school, six inches, and my knees went to crap.
- 19:06unknown: Yeah.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: And so, and begin you're tall, you're very long-legged, most of your height is in your legs.
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna guess that that's how it's come.
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: Your knees might be a little weaker than they probably would have been if you were a little shorter.
- 19:19SPEAKER_07: No, absolutely.
- 19:20SPEAKER_07: Both my parents have knee problems too, but my mom's pretty tall.
- 19:23SPEAKER_07: My dad's not super tall, but he does have weaker knees than I think.
- 19:25SPEAKER_03: Your mom's tall, yeah.
- 19:26SPEAKER_03: And your mom's a lot of leg, too, now that I recall.
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:29SPEAKER_07: And uh they both needed knee replacements, so really, and I gotta have a hip replacement.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: What the heck?
- 19:36SPEAKER_07: At least we live in a time where we can do that stuff.
- 19:38SPEAKER_07: Hey, the generations they keep getting better, we keep getting stronger.
- 19:42SPEAKER_03: Bingo, there's our message, folks.
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: Message of the day.
- 19:46SPEAKER_07: Don't be afraid of the kids.
- 19:47SPEAKER_07: They hold the future.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: Well, throw another one on us, man.
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: Let's have another one.
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:51SPEAKER_03: Let's have some more, let's have some more of that super uh, what is it, philosopher?
- 19:55SPEAKER_07: Philosophizing.
- 19:56SPEAKER_07: This next one's kind of cool too.
- 19:57SPEAKER_07: This one's from uh Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders of Mars.
- 20:01SPEAKER_07: This is the eponymous one.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: Love me some Ziggy Sardust, absolutely.
- 20:35SPEAKER_05: And the spider's a lot.
- 20:39SPEAKER_05: We played it at made it too far.
- 20:45SPEAKER_05: It came on the special night, but then we were taking back to get rid of that biblical screw down head Like some cat from the Japan.
- 21:03SPEAKER_05: It could look up at my baby, it could leave underloaded back.
- 21:12SPEAKER_05: Well come to that.
- 21:17SPEAKER_06: So we'll just buy that.
- 21:55SPEAKER_05: Diving up we won't go.
- 21:59SPEAKER_05: It was just black.
- 22:02SPEAKER_05: We put the mat.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: We've got to run a took it all the fall, but boy, could we play it off?
- 22:24SPEAKER_06: I don't like it.
- 22:51SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: Now we know with Forever Incorporates Christie, it's the lazy, what is it?
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: Lazy Beach.
- 23:22SPEAKER_07: The Lazy Beach Brewing.
- 23:24SPEAKER_07: That is a super cute shirt, too.
- 23:26SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
- 23:27SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Julie.
- 23:29SPEAKER_07: Lazy Beach Brewing is sponsored by Julie.
- 23:31SPEAKER_07: Wait.
- 23:33SPEAKER_07: Other way around, maybe.
- 23:36SPEAKER_03: Hey, uh I I I love an estate brewing.
- 23:40SPEAKER_03: I I want to make sure we get as much out as possible.
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: Can we let's let's play another one real quick when we have to go to the commercial because we're gonna have to go uh we're gonna have to do a break here soon.
- 23:49SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you bet it.
- 23:50SPEAKER_07: I was gonna say uh the first we got to think he started his first alter ego.
- 23:53SPEAKER_07: Let's play his second alter ego, Aladdin thing.
- 23:57SPEAKER_03: Aladdin thing.
- 23:58SPEAKER_07: Aladdin.
- 23:59SPEAKER_03: Aladdin.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: I knew that already.
- 24:04SPEAKER_07: Lady green soul.
- 25:09SPEAKER_06: She'll drive the beautiful car and beat you down and start.

- 25:37SPEAKER_06: She will be on the She'll come, she'll go, she'll leave on you, but she won't stay a life on you.
- 26:18SPEAKER_06: How can life pick up a point of view?
- 26:23SPEAKER_06: And when the clue says you feel the flute of food and send the breast.
