Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to a meeting of the minds crafted from decades
- 0:05Speaker 1: of talk show experience, an extension of the magic they've
- 0:08Speaker 1: created together on radio in the phenomenon called M and
- 0:13Speaker 1: M Hot Topics in the News and Wisdom from Life.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's Mark Davis and Mike Gallagher. This is eminem extra.
- 0:22Speaker 2: So science has pled the fifth. The science ain't talking.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Welcome aboard Happy Wednesday on Mike. He's Mark wearing his
- 0:34Speaker 2: very colorful or tangerine orange golf shirt. Easy spot. I
- 0:39Speaker 2: got spot. I got my one of mister Mizzle and
- 0:42Speaker 2: mister Maine shirts on Billy Mizzle, Tommy Maine, Tommy Maine
- 0:46Speaker 2: and Billy Mizzle. Because I'm no sportsman, I'm no outdoorsman.
- 0:51Speaker 2: And man, oh man, what what? We got a lot
- 0:54Speaker 2: to sink our teeth into today, my friend, Starting with
- 0:57Speaker 2: the one and only Anthony Fouch, Josh Howley probably had
- 1:03Speaker 2: the most memorable exchanges, but did anything And I know
- 1:06Speaker 2: you carried part of it, I'm sure on your show
- 1:08Speaker 2: this morning, I carried a lot of it. But let's
- 1:11Speaker 2: face it, it was kind of uneventful, isn't the right word.
- 1:15Speaker 2: But I don't know that anybody thought he would just
- 1:19Speaker 2: plead the fifth one hundred and eleven times, I know,
- 1:23Speaker 2: And the question was floating heavily in the air, you know,
- 1:25Speaker 2: would he plead the fifth?
- 1:27Speaker 3: Could he plead the fifth? Of course he could, of
- 1:29Speaker 3: course he can. And even a couple of folks, I mean,
- 1:32Speaker 3: maybe even Josh Holly, whom I did enjoy, said you
- 1:35Speaker 3: can't blead the fifth. There's no protection against you because
- 1:38Speaker 3: of the Biden parton. Of course, there is number one.
- 1:41Speaker 3: If he perjures himself today, who's out there naked against
- 1:44Speaker 3: that charge of perjury? And also a federal pardon is
- 1:47Speaker 3: a federal pardon. I have a feeling my state of Texas,
- 1:50Speaker 3: your state of Florida, and a good dozen or so
- 1:53Speaker 3: others might be willing to come after him for state
- 1:55Speaker 3: related charges. So there was every reason for him to
- 1:58Speaker 3: plead the fifth if indeed he tended to lie, which
- 2:01Speaker 3: he or was going to lie, which I don't know
- 2:04Speaker 3: what his choices were, because look at the look at
- 2:06Speaker 3: the diary, look at the past, look at the track record.
- 2:09Speaker 3: There's no way he would have survived today intact. So
- 2:12Speaker 3: this seems like about the only thing that he could do.
- 2:15Speaker 3: What do you do it all day with just about everybody. Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 3: and you mentioned Josh Holey this is and Josh got
- 2:23Speaker 3: a little cute, but it did serve to make a
- 2:25Speaker 3: point since he was answering absolutely nothing. Even Ran Paul said,
- 2:29Speaker 3: do you see the red folder in front of you? Well,
- 2:32Speaker 3: my under advisive counsel, I choose not to reply, blah
- 2:36Speaker 3: blah blah. So Josh Hawley asked him what day is
- 2:39Speaker 3: it and what color is your tie?
- 2:41Speaker 2: Well, here it is. Let's let's let's check it out together.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Here's and then I'll explain why he had to what
- 2:46Speaker 3: we've gone.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Well, and I'm intrigued by this and i
- 2:48Speaker 2: want to see what you have to say because I've
- 2:51Speaker 2: got some thoughts as well about what the Fifth Amendment
- 2:53Speaker 2: is designed to do. Everybody has a constitutional right to
- 2:58Speaker 2: refuse to answer a question. It's Fifth Amendment right, but
- 3:01Speaker 2: it's against self incrimination. So that's why these answers to
- 3:06Speaker 2: me are extremely peculiar.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Well, nothing says honesty like taking the fifth h Doc,
- 3:15Speaker 4: Let's try something.
- 3:17Speaker 2: What day of the week is it today?
- 3:23Speaker 5: On the divisive Council, I respectfully decline to and sebased
- 3:27Speaker 5: upon my rights under the Fifth.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Amendment to the Constitution.
- 3:30Speaker 1: What color tie you wearing.
- 3:33Speaker 5: On the divisive council, I respectfully declined to and sebased
- 3:37Speaker 5: upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution.
- 3:40Speaker 4: What color is the carpet in front of you on.
- 3:45Speaker 5: The advisive council? I respectfully decline to and sebased upon
- 3:49Speaker 5: my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Let's just get one thing straight.
- 3:52Speaker 4: You don't have any rights under the Fifth Amendment because
- 3:55Speaker 4: you've been pardoned, as you very well know, as a
- 3:57Speaker 4: Supreme Court has been clear for a century more Brown
- 4:00Speaker 4: versus Walker, eighteen ninety six. When he has been pardoned,
- 4:04Speaker 4: he may not stand upon his privilege. You know that
- 4:08Speaker 4: your lawyer is sitting behind you now, shifting nervously in
- 4:10Speaker 4: their chairs.
- 4:10Speaker 3: They know it.
- 4:11Speaker 4: This isn't about the Constitution, This isn't about the law.
- 4:14Speaker 4: This is about contempt, contempt for this body, and contempt
- 4:17Speaker 4: for the American people. But I think I know why
- 4:20Speaker 4: you're doing it. It's because you don't want to answer questions.
- 4:24Speaker 4: It's because you did all kinds of terrible things. It's
- 4:27Speaker 4: because during the pandemic, you got rich, didn't you. You
- 4:31Speaker 4: got rich while people were dying. Hundreds of thousands of
- 4:35Speaker 4: Americans over a million in the end, and you were
- 4:37Speaker 4: getting rich. And not only were you doing that, you
- 4:40Speaker 4: were using federal employees with taxpayer money to apply for
- 4:45Speaker 4: and solicit cash prizes for you personally, cash prizes totaling
- 4:51Speaker 4: over a million dollars. You did all of that during
- 4:54Speaker 4: the pandemic, didn't you. That's a question.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Divisive counsel I respectfully declined to answer, based upon my
- 5:03Speaker 5: rights under the Fifth Amendment.
- 5:05Speaker 3: All right, So did you find yourself when Josh Hawley
- 5:09Speaker 3: asked what day is it? And what color is your tie?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Did you find yourself saying, come on, dude, just answer
- 5:15Speaker 3: a little bit. Well, of course that's why he asked it,
- 5:20Speaker 3: of course, But here's why that was of course impossible,
- 5:24Speaker 3: not impossible, but never going to happen. Let's say he
- 5:27Speaker 3: Let's say he did. Let's say doctor Faunci thought, what
- 5:30Speaker 3: day is it? It's Wednesday? What color is my tie?
- 5:32Speaker 3: Navy blue with white Boka douts. At that point, ha, gotcha,
- 5:36Speaker 3: doctor Fauci. If you are able to answer that question,
- 5:40Speaker 3: which you are factually familiar with, if you're so factually
- 5:44Speaker 3: familiar with all the other things we're asking you, why
- 5:47Speaker 3: can't you just answer those? So that's why he didn't
- 5:51Speaker 3: do that, But it wolled Hawley's device still quite useful.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Right, But I'm not a lawyer, and neither are you.
- 5:58Speaker 2: And I saw some legal analysis online that said that
- 6:01Speaker 2: the purpose of the Fifth Amendment is to prevent one
- 6:04Speaker 2: from self incriminating himself. Right, So if you're asking what
- 6:07Speaker 2: day of the week it is, that is an objective.
- 6:10Speaker 2: There's no there's no there's no wiggled room.
- 6:13Speaker 3: There should have been a carve out there.
- 6:15Speaker 2: While he is okay, yeah, I mean this was a
- 6:17Speaker 2: lawyer's opinion that that's not what the Fifth Amendment was
- 6:20Speaker 2: designed to do. But I guess you have a right
- 6:23Speaker 2: to say no to anything. And I'm not going to
- 6:25Speaker 2: answer any single question whatsoever.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Well have you ever?
- 6:28Speaker 4: Have you?
- 6:29Speaker 3: It gets deeper. Let me can remember that question, because
- 6:32Speaker 3: it gets a little deeper because rand Paul did say
- 6:35Speaker 3: that the Fifth Amendment may not really totally apply here
- 6:39Speaker 3: or may not totally protect you here, and that's going
- 6:42Speaker 3: to be an arguable point. Contempt of Congress does kind
- 6:45Speaker 3: of say that if something is pertinent and you have
- 6:48Speaker 3: no sort of front loaded privilege like a president revealing
- 6:51Speaker 3: something for a foreign leader or a member of a
- 6:54Speaker 3: White House betraying a president at a certain confidence. Doctor
- 6:59Speaker 3: Fauci is not in evoking any particular situation of privilege,
- 7:03Speaker 3: personal privilege, executive privilege, la la lah. That he may
- 7:08Speaker 3: still be susceptible to contempt of Congress. And I believe
- 7:11Speaker 3: just a few minutes ago, Rand Paul he ain't done,
- 7:14Speaker 3: essentially says we're coming after you for contempt of Congress.
- 7:18Speaker 3: That will actually go somewhere. But that's how that wound up. Well,
- 7:22Speaker 3: don't go ahead. Don't be so sure it won't go anywhere.
- 7:25Speaker 3: You got a Republican majority of the House. I mean
- 7:27Speaker 3: it's still anywhere. It may still he will Anthony Faucher
- 7:31Speaker 3: will not go to jail. I'll go without on him.
- 7:33Speaker 2: But he could be convicted of He could certainly be
- 7:36Speaker 2: convicted of contempt of Congress, because you're right, I mean
- 7:39Speaker 2: they were. They kept trying to say, look, we're compelling
- 7:42Speaker 2: you to testify, we are compelling you to answer these
- 7:44Speaker 2: questions that the American people have a right to know,
- 7:47Speaker 2: and Doc Garnet, the American people do have a right
- 7:50Speaker 2: to know. We have every right to know why you
- 7:54Speaker 2: said in private that this looks like it's going to
- 7:56Speaker 2: be a zero point three percent mortality rate, and then
- 7:59Speaker 2: two weeks they you said two to three percent. American
- 8:02Speaker 2: people have a right to say to know, and the
- 8:04Speaker 2: diary revelation was everything. Releasing what was in that diary
- 8:08Speaker 2: is so compelling because that and I'm intrigued by the timing,
- 8:12Speaker 2: because I want to I wondered if rand Paul had
- 8:17Speaker 2: held the diary.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yep, and when what did they know and when did
- 8:21Speaker 3: they have it?
- 8:21Speaker 2: Right? But will you wait till after the testimony, because
- 8:25Speaker 2: maybe maybe he would have tried to muddle through it.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Maybe Fauci would have tried to answer questions if they
- 8:32Speaker 2: didn't have his own words in black and white.
- 8:34Speaker 3: And then ran Paul would come in after it and say, huh.
- 8:37Speaker 3: You might remember when doctor Foucher said this, this, this, this,
- 8:40Speaker 3: and this. Well here on page thirty seven of the
- 8:42Speaker 3: diary he says this, this, and this correct.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but do you have you ever interviewed or have
- 8:47Speaker 2: you ever met Nick Searcy, the actor, the.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Conservative It's funny he does he follow you on Twitter?
- 8:54Speaker 2: Well, i've interviewed him before.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I don't know if he follows me, which is even
- 8:57Speaker 3: closer because he's a wonderful guy. If he's one of
- 8:59Speaker 3: those you may not recognize, but if you look at him,
- 9:02Speaker 3: he's been in a bunch of things. My favorite thing
- 9:04Speaker 3: was him with Timothy Oliphant in the wonderful show Justified.
- 9:08Speaker 3: He's great and everything and one of those wonderful rare
- 9:10Speaker 3: breeds are really solid conservative actors. So yeah, I'm aware
- 9:14Speaker 3: of him absolutely.
- 9:15Speaker 2: And what well, here's what he posted on x Fauci
- 9:19Speaker 2: And this is how I felt, because I don't know
- 9:21Speaker 2: about you, Mark, but I felt like this was really
- 9:25Speaker 2: oddly satisfying. And a lot of people said, come on,
- 9:28Speaker 2: answer some questions, tell us what I mean. It was
- 9:31Speaker 2: very instructive. And here's what Nick sears. He wrote, Fauci
- 9:37Speaker 2: pleading the fifth over and over and over again is
- 9:40Speaker 2: strangely satisfying. It's frustrating that the smug little prick is
- 9:46Speaker 2: doing this because he absolutely has to, since what he
- 9:50Speaker 2: did is indefensible. But at least he's being publicly humiliated,
- 9:56Speaker 2: and he has surrounded himself with sleazy lawyers like mob Boss.
- 10:01Speaker 2: What a crash landing for this horrible criminal, and what
- 10:04Speaker 2: shame it brings on all the Hollywood and media types
- 10:07Speaker 2: who slobbered all over him. He should be put on
- 10:10Speaker 2: trial for crimes against humanity and spend the rest of
- 10:13Speaker 2: his life in prison. Now it's hard to argue with that.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I mean, you keep saying, won't be happening? Yeah, but
- 10:21Speaker 2: that's not the point. Should he be? Should it be?
- 10:24Speaker 4: He?
- 10:24Speaker 2: Should it?
- 10:25Speaker 3: Is he deserving of some prosecutorial attention? No?
- 10:28Speaker 2: You know, do you think he ought to spend the
- 10:30Speaker 2: rest of his life in prison? Lordy? I don't know.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I mean, is he sure?
- 10:35Speaker 2: Dam you give people a lot of grace, boy, you
- 10:37Speaker 2: give people grace. Good for you.
- 10:39Speaker 3: But first of all, he is eighty five. What's the
- 10:40Speaker 3: rest of his life? Five years? So sure? So sure?
- 10:44Speaker 2: Why not? I mean, if if they can can, if
- 10:47Speaker 2: they were able to prove in a court of law
- 10:50Speaker 2: that he lied repeatedly and shut this.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I'm conflating your very good question, which is an obvious
- 10:56Speaker 3: yes to will it practically happen? Is there any likely?
- 11:00Speaker 4: No?
- 11:00Speaker 2: No, I get it.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I think it's no, so I and I get your
- 11:02Speaker 3: and I get your question too.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I truly believe everybody who's saying that doesn't think it's
- 11:06Speaker 2: going to happen.
- 11:07Speaker 3: It's not gonna it's not gonna happen at all. But
- 11:09Speaker 3: but but but should With yes, with the knick searses
- 11:14Speaker 3: of the world, I will say there is something. It
- 11:18Speaker 3: may not be as satisfying as having a heavy iron
- 11:20Speaker 3: door slam behind an orange clad Anthony Fauci in some
- 11:23Speaker 3: federal correctional institution, but his reputation lies dashed against the rocks.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Except with Jake Tapper and the Manhattan cocktail circuit. He
- 11:31Speaker 3: is is reputationally ruined. And I'm that's it's it was.
- 11:37Speaker 2: It was. It was.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Compelling to see and satisfying to see.
- 11:42Speaker 2: And oddly satisfying speaking of his speaking of his attorneys,
- 11:45Speaker 2: one of my favorite moments came when when n Paul
- 11:48Speaker 2: kicked the lawyer out of the out of the room.
- 11:52Speaker 2: He how about this, Let's share this with everybody. Uh
- 11:55Speaker 2: as we welcome you in and a busy, busy day today.
- 11:58Speaker 2: And look, I want to mind you that our sponsors,
- 12:02Speaker 2: our advertisers, are part of what we're going to do
- 12:04Speaker 2: every single day. And if you want to get an escape,
- 12:07Speaker 2: if you want to get away from it all, how
- 12:09Speaker 2: about eckol. We're excited about the news that the Duck
- 12:12Speaker 2: Dynasty stars Willie and Corey Robertson have teamed up with Eckel,
- 12:16Speaker 2: creating a brand new, one of a kind streaming platform
- 12:19Speaker 2: built around faith and family. It's Mark. This is exciting
- 12:23Speaker 2: because people are tired of the filth that comes out
- 12:26Speaker 2: of Hollywood. But here's here's a whole platform that's family friendly,
- 12:30Speaker 2: that's actually kind of spiritual. There's daily devotionals. This is
- 12:34Speaker 2: a great time for this to come along.
- 12:36Speaker 3: The entertainment universe can be tricky for families, for people
- 12:40Speaker 3: of faith, it's like sometimes you'll want something to say,
- 12:42Speaker 3: you know, this seems like good people, seems like a
- 12:44Speaker 3: good story, but then bam, there's some Lord knows what
- 12:48Speaker 3: might be objectionable to you. Eckel is a safe space.
- 12:51Speaker 3: But it's not just pablomy stuff that's low interest done
- 12:55Speaker 3: by amateurs. This is quality professionals, quality stuff for quality people.
- 13:01Speaker 3: And boy, there shore are some quality people behind it.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Echo ekk l Echel Entertainment, Echo dot Com. Go get it.
- 13:06Speaker 3: You'll have a great time watching stuff, either yourself or
- 13:08Speaker 3: with your family.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And you can get it all for five eighty three
- 13:11Speaker 2: a month. That's the pennies five dollars in eighty three
- 13:14Speaker 2: cents a month to become a subscriber to echel and
- 13:17Speaker 2: it's real simple. Like Mark said, head over to echol
- 13:19Speaker 2: dot com. That's ekk L dot com. Ekkl dot com.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Sign up today and get ready to be a part
- 13:26Speaker 2: of something better. Speaking of something better, you take in
- 13:29Speaker 2: your relief Factor every day.
- 13:31Speaker 3: M indeed, popping the packets as we say, that sounds
- 13:35Speaker 3: very strange, but that's what you do. It's so easy.
- 13:37Speaker 3: You order it, it comes. I'm on the three week
- 13:40Speaker 3: quick start day I guess day three of the three
- 13:43Speaker 3: week quick start, and my focus here because you mentioned you,
- 13:47Speaker 3: I think it was a lower back thing for you.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yep.
- 13:49Speaker 3: It's a little little shoulder rotator cuff stuff and it's
- 13:52Speaker 3: not even all the time. It's just if I reach
- 13:54Speaker 3: for certain things or do with certain things like what's that?
- 13:57Speaker 3: And I'd love for that not to be the case anymore.
- 13:59Speaker 3: So I will be revealing as the days pass just
- 14:03Speaker 3: what relief factor does for me.
- 14:05Speaker 2: We can't wait for the status report. The tell for me,
- 14:09Speaker 2: The proof for me is if I forget to take it,
- 14:11Speaker 2: my little that's kind of achy back pain comes back. Hey,
- 14:16Speaker 2: take the three week quick start. It's only seventeen seventy
- 14:18Speaker 2: six now, in honor of America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday,
- 14:21Speaker 2: go to relief Factor dot com. Tell them you know, hey,
- 14:24Speaker 2: Mark and Mike Zentcha relief Factor dot com or call
- 14:27Speaker 2: eight hundred four Relief eight hundred to number four Relief
- 14:30Speaker 2: for the one and only Relief Factor. Again, this was
- 14:34Speaker 2: an indicator mark that Rand Paul was not going to
- 14:37Speaker 2: play around. He was not having it with this lawyer.
- 14:40Speaker 2: And I mean this, the clip is very self explanatory
- 14:44Speaker 2: because there was a backstory. They told him you're not
- 14:47Speaker 2: going to sit at the table, yeah he did.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Anyway, you will get microphone time, you will not be recognized,
- 14:52Speaker 3: You're not going to be able to weigh in. You
- 14:53Speaker 3: may advise your client all you wish. This half dozen
- 14:56Speaker 3: attorneys are free to talk to him. I have a
- 14:58Speaker 3: little sidebar, a little chat, but you're not going to
- 15:00Speaker 3: get Mike time. And by the way, we don't even
- 15:02Speaker 3: want you sitting right next to doctor fauci at any
- 15:04Speaker 3: means well, it's.
- 15:06Speaker 2: The man tried to speak and let's just put it
- 15:09Speaker 2: this way, for this particular counselor this attorney at law,
- 15:14Speaker 2: it didn't go well.
- 15:18Speaker 6: The chairman has denied your assertion of privilege and directed
- 15:21Speaker 6: you to answer, but you nonetheless refuse and stand on
- 15:24Speaker 6: privilege despite the existence of the pardon. The committee will
- 15:28Speaker 6: have to consider after this hearing what appropriate action should
- 15:31Speaker 6: be taken against you for the failure to testify after
- 15:34Speaker 6: being directed.
- 15:35Speaker 2: To do so.
- 15:36Speaker 3: It's against the law to.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Obstruct an investigation of Congress. There will be repercussions to
- 15:41Speaker 6: your refusal to testify today. Center Peters, Yeah, I agree,
- 15:50Speaker 6: we go. You're not recognized, You're not recognized. If you
- 15:56Speaker 6: are unruly, you will be removed from the proceeding. You
- 15:59Speaker 6: are not recognized. And you you are not recognized, sir, Sir,
- 16:04Speaker 6: you are not recognized. You are not recognized.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Security security, I will hold off.
- 16:13Speaker 6: But you will respect these proceedings. You were told not
- 16:16Speaker 6: to sit at the table. You insist on sitting at
- 16:19Speaker 6: the table, and we told you you would not be recognized.
- 16:22Speaker 6: You are not invited here for testimony.
- 16:25Speaker 7: Sir.
- 16:26Speaker 2: You are being disruptive.
- 16:28Speaker 6: Would you behave this way in a courtroom? No, because
- 16:31Speaker 6: the judge would put you in jail. I can't do
- 16:33Speaker 6: that today, but I can have you escorted from the premises,
- 16:36Speaker 6: so I would say, sir, sit quietly, and don't say
- 16:39Speaker 6: another word.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I said, sit quietly. You are not recognized another word
- 16:44Speaker 2: in your God very well, he said too, very well, Off, Mike,
- 16:50Speaker 2: that's from the Microloss Michster Chairman.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I'd like to hear what the journey has to say.
- 16:55Speaker 6: He is not recognized by the committee or the chair.
- 16:58Speaker 6: If he speaks again, he will be removed from the room.
- 17:01Speaker 6: This testimony is from Anthony Fauci. This is not a
- 17:05Speaker 6: game with his lawyers. He can advise, his lawyers can
- 17:08Speaker 6: give him advice. He's got a half dozen here. They
- 17:11Speaker 6: are all allowed to talk to him, all right, but
- 17:14Speaker 6: the attorneys are not recognized. In fact, the attorney was
- 17:18Speaker 6: told not to sit at the table and he's not
- 17:20Speaker 6: obeying that recommendation. There's a row behind you, sir, that's
- 17:23Speaker 6: where you were told to sit.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And you're not.
- 17:25Speaker 6: And now you're disrupting the proceedings. And so look, this
- 17:29Speaker 6: is the way Anthony Fauci wants to be remembered. For
- 17:31Speaker 6: a lawyer, not listening to the rules, that's the way
- 17:34Speaker 6: you want to be remembered, and that's where you're going
- 17:36Speaker 6: to do. You are not recognized, sir, security Please removing
- 17:41Speaker 6: from the room.
- 17:42Speaker 8: That's it afo, how do he goes Sea go let
- 17:49Speaker 8: the door hit you and listen and did you see Mark?
- 17:53Speaker 2: Did you see Laura Ingram over over fauci shoulder?
- 17:58Speaker 3: She saw a reference to know what it was about?
- 18:00Speaker 2: Was she in the room and right behind him the
- 18:03Speaker 2: whole time? Laura Laura decided to go watch the proceedings,
- 18:08Speaker 2: and so it was surreal though. You got this familiar face,
- 18:11Speaker 2: her familiar blonde bob there, you know, right behind, right
- 18:16Speaker 2: behind Fauci. And of course I'm sure people were watching
- 18:20Speaker 2: her facial expressions figuring out what's she gonna you know,
- 18:23Speaker 2: I mean it's hysterical.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I mean it's funny if you're if you're there, kind
- 18:26Speaker 3: of like you'll sometimes see at a baseball game, at
- 18:29Speaker 3: a Trump rally. There was somebody who got a seat
- 18:31Speaker 3: behind Trump at a recent I think it was in Michigan,
- 18:34Speaker 3: and he's like doing the he's like doing doing Trump
- 18:37Speaker 3: behind Trump. It was crazy. If you were there, what
- 18:40Speaker 3: might you have done in this particular case with it
- 18:42Speaker 3: with the with the attorney. I went and looked. This
- 18:45Speaker 3: is a gentleman named David Schertzler. He is a very big,
- 18:49Speaker 3: you know, high octane criminal defense attorney h we couldn't
- 18:54Speaker 3: really hear what he was saying because he was never
- 18:55Speaker 3: on MIC by design, and so I don't know what
- 18:57Speaker 3: his overall point was. Do you think this entire thing
- 19:01Speaker 3: was pre orchestrated by him to get thrown out so
- 19:05Speaker 3: that Anthony Fauci could say, Look, they wouldn't even let
- 19:07Speaker 3: my lawyer talk. They dragged him out, you know, like
- 19:10Speaker 3: the trash.
- 19:11Speaker 2: So wild you bring that up, because I don't know
- 19:13Speaker 2: who the voice belonged to, who said I'd like to
- 19:17Speaker 2: hear what the lawyer has to say.
- 19:18Speaker 3: That's the ranking member, that's the Democrat, who is a
- 19:21Speaker 3: ranking member, who is Michigan.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I don't know. Oh that's Peters. Okay, So Peters was
- 19:28Speaker 2: the one who said, Gary Peters said I want to
- 19:30Speaker 2: hear what he has to say. I think it was
- 19:32Speaker 2: Gary Peters who set this lawyer up because he wanted
- 19:36Speaker 2: to see I think he made he thought it made
- 19:39Speaker 2: Ran Paul look bad to have the guy dragged out
- 19:41Speaker 2: of corner and Rand Paullo awesome, Oh I'm superman. I mean,
- 19:45Speaker 2: I look, I want him in my corner. What a wild,
- 19:49Speaker 2: wild wild.
- 19:50Speaker 3: But either but you may have an interesting point that
- 19:52Speaker 3: this was a Democrat trick that could collusion that they
- 19:55Speaker 3: all said, Okay, tey, we're gonna do. We're gonna have
- 19:57Speaker 3: the attorneys sit front and center, not front and center,
- 19:59Speaker 3: but front right, so right there at the desk. We're
- 20:01Speaker 3: going to have him try to talk, and one of
- 20:03Speaker 3: two good things will happen from the Democrat point of view.
- 20:06Speaker 3: One but let him talk, which would be, you know,
- 20:09Speaker 3: a point for doctor Fauci, or they'll yank him out,
- 20:12Speaker 3: which maybe we could use for optics. It will and
- 20:15Speaker 3: has backfired because the guy just looked like an uncooperative tool.
- 20:19Speaker 2: No, it was a bad day, and it was. It
- 20:21Speaker 2: was one of the most stunning falls from grace I
- 20:25Speaker 2: think we've ever seen of an individual in public life.
- 20:28Speaker 2: This is a guy who went from you know, they
- 20:30Speaker 2: were the stuffed dolls with his image all over the place.
- 20:33Speaker 2: And Julia Roberts did you see that Julia Roberts clip Mark, Oh, Mark,
- 20:40Speaker 2: I got to play this for you and I can
- 20:43Speaker 2: oh yeah, oh no, it's entertaining. So somehow, and she's
- 20:48Speaker 2: a great actress and a beautiful woman. Well, Eric, this
- 20:52Speaker 2: is how euphoric the left was over this little troll.
- 20:58Speaker 2: She's somehow she interviewing him. Now, why the hell Julia
- 21:02Speaker 2: Roberts is interviewing Tony Fauci is beyond me, But she's
- 21:06Speaker 2: interviewing him. But when she starts this clip, he's not
- 21:10Speaker 2: there yet. Okay, Now you got to watch this, and
- 21:13Speaker 2: if you're watching today on YouTube, and we appreciate all
- 21:16Speaker 2: the comments. We got a big, big audience today watching live,
- 21:19Speaker 2: which is pretty neat more than usual. Probably people wanted
- 21:22Speaker 2: to poke in and pop in and find out about
- 21:24Speaker 2: the Fauci testimony. But if you're only listening, let me
- 21:29Speaker 2: just describe this. If you're listening on the audio podcast,
- 21:33Speaker 2: Fauci isn't yet. They're in one of those two boxes
- 21:36Speaker 2: like you and I are not, unlike the way you
- 21:38Speaker 2: and I sit for the podcast. She's on the left screen,
- 21:41Speaker 2: the right screen. It's an empty chair. He isn't there yet.
- 21:45Speaker 2: When he walks on and sits down, I swear her
- 21:50Speaker 2: reaction is I'm not kidding you, practically or gasmo. She
- 21:56Speaker 2: is so she is in ecstasy that this man has
- 22:01Speaker 2: come into the screen. You can see it on her
- 22:04Speaker 2: face and you can hear it in her voice. You
- 22:06Speaker 2: got to see and hear this pathetic lap dog of
- 22:12Speaker 2: of of adulation for this little creep, this guy who
- 22:17Speaker 2: did so much harm to the world. Julia Roberts interviewing
- 22:21Speaker 2: Tony Fauci for the first time, a.
- 22:25Speaker 7: Rad that we have maybe the coolest man on the
- 22:27Speaker 7: planet right now, and there's the room. This is intense.
- 22:31Speaker 7: Any does anybody else? O, Lordy, look at her?
- 22:36Speaker 2: Look at her?
- 22:38Speaker 7: Morning?
- 22:39Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 22:39Speaker 7: Oh this is such a thrill.
- 22:41Speaker 3: How are you pretty good?
- 22:43Speaker 2: I guess you know.
- 22:44Speaker 5: It's a little bit like running on fumes for a
- 22:46Speaker 5: couple of months.
- 22:47Speaker 7: But I would imagine this is a thrill for me
- 22:50Speaker 7: because you truly have emerged as a personal hero for me,
- 22:54Speaker 7: and you've been this true north I think for a
- 22:57Speaker 7: lot of people, and it's so deeply, deeply appreciated. So
- 23:03Speaker 7: just to have this little corner of your time for
- 23:06Speaker 7: us is such a joy.
- 23:09Speaker 5: It's my pleasure to be with you, miss Robinson, and
- 23:12Speaker 5: thank you for doing this.
- 23:14Speaker 3: It's very important.
- 23:15Speaker 7: Golly, you're you're really like my personal hero right now.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, hey, mar true Mark. For many people,
- 23:23Speaker 2: it went south to Mark. I'll have what she's having exactly. God,
- 23:29Speaker 2: Holy Meg, Ryan, it's sleepless in Seattle. Okay, okay, Friz
- 23:33Speaker 2: so ference, let's dive in here for I want to
- 23:36Speaker 2: take two minutes to Antoni Romo, but only two. And
- 23:39Speaker 2: let me tell you why I love this guy. I
- 23:42Speaker 2: just I know so many stories about a anecdotally what
- 23:45Speaker 2: a good guy he is.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Dude, he's quarter glaudy numbers, he was a great quarterback talent,
- 23:51Speaker 3: couldn't quite get it done in the postseason like so
- 23:53Speaker 3: many others, but just a real stand up, stand up.
- 23:56Speaker 2: And he was stopped for the suspicion of I guess us.
- 24:00Speaker 2: What they call it in Milwaukee is oh w.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I operating while intoxicated. And I don't know if this
- 24:06Speaker 3: is myth, but you know what, because he usually is DWI.
- 24:08Speaker 3: But apparently there's a lot of drunk tractor operation. Are
- 24:12Speaker 3: you really driving? If you're out there?
- 24:15Speaker 2: Maybe the Appleton, maybe the Amish driving the wagons? Its Wisconsin.
- 24:21Speaker 2: There are a lot of Omish in Wisconsin. But in
- 24:22Speaker 2: any event, he was pulled over. And of course there's
- 24:25Speaker 2: the dreaded police bodycam, and the bodycam video has been revealed,
- 24:31Speaker 2: and there's Tony Romo. I was going to play it
- 24:34Speaker 2: today and thought about you, and I kind of teased
- 24:37Speaker 2: it this morning, thought maybe we'd address it on the podcast.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Can I tell you why I don't want to with
- 24:43Speaker 2: your permission and your blessing, and.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I will, I believe I will agree with you going.
- 24:46Speaker 2: I don't want to embarrass him anymore than he already
- 24:49Speaker 2: has been. It's already, you know, he's already going through it.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I don't know if he was drunk or not. I
- 24:56Speaker 2: don't know. I don't. I hope that. And you said
- 25:00Speaker 2: something this morning that was very poignant. You pointed out, look,
- 25:03Speaker 2: as much as we love the guy, if he really
- 25:05Speaker 2: was risking other people's lives by drinking and driving, that's
- 25:08Speaker 2: a bad thing. We don't care how much we like.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Somebody can't do that. It's the wrong thing to do.
- 25:13Speaker 2: But you also said something that I thought we played
- 25:16Speaker 2: it back on the replay on my show. You said, look,
- 25:18Speaker 2: in a previous life, there but for the grace of God,
- 25:22Speaker 2: did I not get pulled over? And you've been, and Mark,
- 25:25Speaker 2: all of us can say that, all of us can
- 25:28Speaker 2: admit that we probably, at least once in our life,
- 25:31Speaker 2: got behind the wheel of a car when we probably
- 25:33Speaker 2: shouldn't have.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Now, I say, all maybe ninety the lifetime teetotals who
- 25:37Speaker 3: would never touch drop. They can. But if we as Americans,
- 25:41Speaker 3: we do a lot of drinking and a lot of driving,
- 25:43Speaker 3: and the degree to which those have intersected is probably
- 25:46Speaker 3: more than anybody would care if.
- 25:47Speaker 2: You are so right. But I made a decision, and
- 25:49Speaker 2: I'm glad I can tell from the way you're agreeing
- 25:51Speaker 2: with me that we're we're going to continue it. I'm
- 25:54Speaker 2: not playing the body cam. I'm not going to pile on.
- 25:57Speaker 2: We'll see what the courts decide. I hope CBS stands
- 26:01Speaker 2: by him, and I hope that only because I like him,
- 26:03Speaker 2: kind of a stupid reason, because again, if he's guilty
- 26:06Speaker 2: of something I don't know, does he get a second chance?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Who knows? I mean these days, yeah, I do too,
- 26:12Speaker 2: because I.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Jumper in second chances in a way, and while I
- 26:15Speaker 3: one thousand percent, there's just no reason to show again
- 26:18Speaker 3: the frame by frame of the officer and him and
- 26:22Speaker 3: the field sobriety and all this. But there are a
- 26:24Speaker 3: couple of takeaways that I love to spend a moment with.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Number One, I.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Think the officer. The officer is polite and professional, and
- 26:31Speaker 3: I think Tony Romo is polite and compliant. It's kind
- 26:34Speaker 3: of a how to on how both sides kind of
- 26:36Speaker 3: ought to act. We learned a little something about because Tony,
- 26:40Speaker 3: you can just you can just feel his butt puckering
- 26:44Speaker 3: at this, at this being pulled over. Listen, even if
- 26:46Speaker 3: you're innocent, it's like it's a when you see the lights,
- 26:49Speaker 3: it's like, oh oh. And so here's the officer and
- 26:51Speaker 3: then and he's, you know, looking out the window. I
- 26:54Speaker 3: had a big, big warm day on the golf course.
- 26:56Speaker 3: So he looks a little bit draggled. I don't know
- 26:58Speaker 3: if that's you know, blood alcohol or not, don't know.
- 27:01Speaker 3: But she says that that's the moment nobody wants step
- 27:05Speaker 3: out of the car. And he says, as you probably said, no,
- 27:08Speaker 3: he said no, i'ma I'm gonna call my lawyer, and
- 27:10Speaker 3: she said step out of the car. And that made
- 27:13Speaker 3: a lot of people go, don't you get to call
- 27:15Speaker 3: your lawyer? Not yet. You don't get to impede a
- 27:19Speaker 3: normal first level, introductory field investigative process. You're not in
- 27:25Speaker 3: the Miranda rights phase yet, you're not in custody yet,
- 27:28Speaker 3: so at that point they get to get you out
- 27:30Speaker 3: of the car. And no, you don't get to call
- 27:31Speaker 3: the lawyer yet.
- 27:32Speaker 2: We learned well. And the thing that killed me even
- 27:36Speaker 2: more than calling the lawyer. And I get it. He's
- 27:39Speaker 2: rich and famous, he's high profile. That's why he's got
- 27:42Speaker 2: a lawyer on retaining out of this. He helped me.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I got to call the lawyer. I get the instinct.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Here's the part, and the reason a lot of people
- 27:50Speaker 2: missed it is because you can't quite hear on the audio.
- 27:54Speaker 2: But I watched the whole thing, and I happen to
- 27:56Speaker 2: have earbuds in or whatever AirPods, and I can hear
- 27:59Speaker 2: it very clearly. He very abruptly, just simply says when
- 28:03Speaker 2: she says step out of the car, no, he says, no,
- 28:08Speaker 2: I'm going to call my lawyer. And no. Should never
- 28:11Speaker 2: follow the command of a police officer to step out
- 28:15Speaker 2: of the car. You don't do it. You gotta step
- 28:18Speaker 2: out of the damn car. It makes me crazy. Whether
- 28:21Speaker 2: it's a young black kid who winds up heaven forbid,
- 28:25Speaker 2: getting shot because he's fighting with the cop, or a
- 28:28Speaker 2: multi millionaire CBS sports guy former quarterback. You don't say
- 28:33Speaker 2: no to that officer. You do what the officer tells
- 28:36Speaker 2: you to do. Why is that so hard for people?
- 28:39Speaker 2: Mark Okay case by case.
- 28:43Speaker 3: In the case of the youngster of whatever race, he
- 28:46Speaker 3: just feels like being non compliant. Maybe they've been filled
- 28:49Speaker 3: with garbage by their parents that the cops are bad,
- 28:52Speaker 3: that we poisoned the minds of generations against the police,
- 28:56Speaker 3: so we have a cop hating nation across good portions
- 28:59Speaker 3: of time zones. Then let's get to wealth and privilege,
- 29:02Speaker 3: where it's like, this is not something that I should
- 29:06Speaker 3: have to do. So even a good, nice guy, decent sort,
- 29:10Speaker 3: good soul, his first instinct might have been, uh, I
- 29:14Speaker 3: think I can get out of this in about twenty
- 29:15Speaker 3: seconds if she'll just let me call, you know, Joey Bernstein,
- 29:19Speaker 3: my attorney or something. His non compliance lasted about a millisecond.
- 29:23Speaker 3: He got out pretty promptly thereafter.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Now I just think is a real important lesson here.
- 29:29Speaker 2: I mean, I just no matter what you think. And
- 29:31Speaker 2: let's let's face facts, a lot of people have a
- 29:34Speaker 2: chip on their shoulder for cops. They just don't like cops.
- 29:36Speaker 2: They don't like the authority, they don't like the position
- 29:39Speaker 2: that they can put people in. They resent them, and
- 29:43Speaker 2: they're willing to say, you know what, let's push back.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna argue I've seen some video. I mean,
- 29:48Speaker 2: I've spent hundreds of hours and years ago riding with
- 29:53Speaker 2: police officers. The ride alongs are really valuable because you
- 29:56Speaker 2: can truly see with your own eyes what people have.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Rec he should do then all to you, but I
- 30:01Speaker 3: wish everybody did because I'm not as much as you.
- 30:03Speaker 3: But I've done a good bit of that too, and
- 30:05Speaker 3: you really develop and.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Appreciate it well. Speaking of police, I'm going to put
- 30:08Speaker 2: a plea out. I just realized I'm going to go
- 30:10Speaker 2: maybe through Roger P. Shulman, our newsman. I want to
- 30:13Speaker 2: take a field sobriety test.
- 30:15Speaker 3: I want to sell it.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I want I want to I want to videotape it.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Because a couple of people last night, reacting to the
- 30:21Speaker 2: Tony Romo police bodycam video, said, look, if you're if
- 30:26Speaker 2: you're sixty five or older, you ain't going to pass
- 30:29Speaker 2: that thing. Now. I resent that because I'm sixty six. Incidentally,
- 30:33Speaker 2: can I say something real quick personally that made my day?
- 30:37Speaker 2: I mean, do I if I guessed your age, not
- 30:40Speaker 2: knowing you for all the years I've known you, swear
- 30:43Speaker 2: on a bible if I had to guess your age
- 30:46Speaker 2: I would guess fifty six fifty seven years old.
- 30:49Speaker 3: I mean I didn't if I didn't love you before.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Well that's true now if you hadn't get it right
- 30:54Speaker 2: back to you, if you didn't know me, do you
- 30:55Speaker 2: think you'd make you ten years younger than you?
- 30:58Speaker 3: I'd put you in your mid fifties as well. And
- 31:00Speaker 3: you're sixty six and I'm sixty eight.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Yep. Somebody told me last night about somebody. It's a
- 31:05Speaker 2: realtor who was talking about a particular transaction and a buyer.
- 31:08Speaker 2: And I said, and I said, but is this an
- 31:10Speaker 2: older person? And they said, well, yeah, well they're older
- 31:13Speaker 2: than you. This person's older than you. I said, really,
- 31:16Speaker 2: I said, yeah, he goes, yeah, they're older than you,
- 31:19Speaker 2: kind of considerably. He said, I'd put them at maybe
- 31:22Speaker 2: mid sixties. I said, they're considerably older than me. I
- 31:26Speaker 2: love you. I love you. I said, do you know
- 31:30Speaker 2: how old I am? He said, yeah, I think you're
- 31:32Speaker 2: probably maybe early mid fifties. Oh my gosh, I'm buying
- 31:39Speaker 2: that guy dinner. I mean, wasn't that great. But he
- 31:43Speaker 2: was serious and he's not a be he's not a
- 31:46Speaker 2: BS artist, he told me. He said, he said, Michael
- 31:48Speaker 2: I'm telling you, I'm shooting straight with you here. I
- 31:51Speaker 2: would have guessed you to be in your fifties, and
- 31:52Speaker 2: I said, I'm sixty six. He said what I had
- 31:55Speaker 2: no idea. Well, that made me feel really, really good. Anyway,
- 31:58Speaker 2: this person on social media said, if you're sixty, if
- 32:00Speaker 2: you're older, maybe you got a bad knee or a
- 32:03Speaker 2: hip or something. You can't pass the field sobriety test.
- 32:07Speaker 2: So I'm putting out an all points bulletin for a
- 32:10Speaker 2: cop in the Tampa Bay area, and I know the
- 32:13Speaker 2: person's going to help me put it together. Our buddy,
- 32:15Speaker 2: Roger P. Shulman, who's our Tampa area newsman. Do you
- 32:18Speaker 2: know Roger has been covering news in this market for
- 32:22Speaker 2: over are you ready over fifty years?
- 32:26Speaker 3: Dude? I know, tremendous.
- 32:28Speaker 2: It's a man. He's a great guy. Speaking of a
- 32:30Speaker 2: guy who doesn't look connection, He's got connections. Not just this.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Now, if we do the Mike Gallagher, it'll be it's funny,
- 32:37Speaker 3: it'll be staged field sobriety. But I don't want them
- 32:39Speaker 3: to go easy on. You give the exactly what you
- 32:42Speaker 3: give anybody else. Now, should we do it in a
- 32:44Speaker 3: hermetically sealed parking garage, or shouldn't kick out on rush
- 32:47Speaker 3: hour the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I think I got to go right over on the
- 32:50Speaker 2: Howard Franklin, go right there in the express lay well.
- 32:55Speaker 2: And then when I and when I floated the idea
- 32:57Speaker 2: by you this morning, somebody texts, well, now here's the
- 33:01Speaker 2: real interesting thing. Are you gonna get drunk for it
- 33:03Speaker 2: or not? No? I will be sober.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Points to be sober and see it as sober sexagenarian.
- 33:12Speaker 3: That's a great word. I could can make it through that.
- 33:14Speaker 3: And it's funny. I probably watched way too much TV,
- 33:17Speaker 3: and I have no firsthand experience with you know, d W.
- 33:20Speaker 3: I stops looking to keep that streak alive. But the
- 33:23Speaker 3: things that I remember are, this is probably not the
- 33:25Speaker 3: case of at all. The stick out your hand and
- 33:27Speaker 3: touch your nose. Anybody could do that.
- 33:32Speaker 2: It's the walking straight the heel toe heel like I'd
- 33:37Speaker 2: probably keel over right now.
- 33:38Speaker 3: If I tried to do that. And the other one,
- 33:41Speaker 3: and I know this is probably out of a bad movie.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Script is can you do the alphabet backwards? Don't Z
- 33:47Speaker 3: wow W v U T S.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I couldn't do that backwards. I couldn't do it. Maybe
- 33:52Speaker 2: I could, but maybe not. After about you know, I
- 33:54Speaker 2: couldn't do it. Three, Margarita, I don't know. No, No,
- 33:56Speaker 2: I couldn't do it with my diet coach in me.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Have I ever told you, by the way, the have
- 34:01Speaker 2: iver told you about the night I spent in jail?
- 34:04Speaker 4: No where.
- 34:06Speaker 3: I was going to as as a precursor to this,
- 34:09Speaker 3: I was going to say, I've never been popped for
- 34:11Speaker 3: dw I or anything else. I'm trying to keep my
- 34:15Speaker 3: life free of any night. And I was going to
- 34:17Speaker 3: and I probably restrained myself from asking because I thought
- 34:21Speaker 3: the answer was almost certain. No, Hey, Mike, have you
- 34:24Speaker 3: ever spent a night in jail? But that's a yes.
- 34:27Speaker 2: I was. I spent a night in jail, and it
- 34:30Speaker 2: was all, of course by design. It was planned for
- 34:33Speaker 2: my radio and then TV commentary. When I lived in
- 34:36Speaker 2: Albany and New York, there was a there was a
- 34:39Speaker 2: question about jail conditions, and there was a controversy about
- 34:41Speaker 2: the condition of prisons. It's a good stunt, well, but
- 34:46Speaker 2: I did it. I spent the night in jail and
- 34:49Speaker 2: left the same mark. Well you do, let me you
- 34:54Speaker 2: go in there and have that door slam behind you.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Let me tell you what happened there. There there's not
- 34:59Speaker 2: being in jail at all.
- 35:01Speaker 3: At the other end, there's being in real jail because
- 35:03Speaker 3: you're in real jail. In the middle, there is subjecting
- 35:07Speaker 3: yourself to jail for a radio bit.
- 35:09Speaker 2: It's not a small thing. Props. No, no, you're never gonna
- 35:12Speaker 2: do it.
- 35:12Speaker 3: But it wasn't the real deal.
- 35:15Speaker 2: I want to do experience what it felt like to
- 35:17Speaker 2: spend a night in jail. And I and here and
- 35:21Speaker 2: at the time, not only was I doing the daily
- 35:24Speaker 2: radio show in Albany, but I did a nightly TV
- 35:27Speaker 2: commentary on the CBS affiliate in the Albany, Schenectady Troy market,
- 35:31Speaker 2: and so every single night there I was on the
- 35:34Speaker 2: six and eleven o'clock news, and I was pretty high
- 35:36Speaker 2: profile in that market. So a lot of people recognize
- 35:38Speaker 2: me from doing the like they do you in the
- 35:40Speaker 2: Dallas Fort Worth area because I did TV and radio.
- 35:43Speaker 2: So we had it all arranged. I think I'm pretty
- 35:46Speaker 2: sure it was the Schenectady City Jail and they brought
- 35:49Speaker 2: me over there at like and I did a live
- 35:51Speaker 2: shot at eleven o'clock at night, so I had the
- 35:54Speaker 2: TV they had the TV crew and the lights and
- 35:56Speaker 2: all that outside the front of the jail. And then
- 35:58Speaker 2: after the live shot, I got booked and finger Now
- 36:02Speaker 2: I was not strip searched. I said, no, no, no.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Other things that did not happen to you either. I'm guessing. Well,
- 36:07Speaker 3: but this is the cleanest, safest, cushiest night in jail
- 36:11Speaker 3: anybody ever spent.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Well, here's here's what happened. Here's what happened. So I
- 36:17Speaker 2: get booked and fingerprinted and they take me. They processed
- 36:20Speaker 2: me just like they would process any prisoner. I had
- 36:24Speaker 2: to strip down, give them all my civilian clothes. They
- 36:26Speaker 2: gave me the jumpsuit or whatever there was, the pajamas
- 36:29Speaker 2: had to wear, and the flip flops, and they give
- 36:31Speaker 2: me my blanket and my pillow and I get marched
- 36:34Speaker 2: down the hallway and they're all they're clanging the bars
- 36:38Speaker 2: and they're screaming at me, and one guy tried to
- 36:40Speaker 2: spit on me as I'm walking down. They take me
- 36:44Speaker 2: into the cell. They slam the door behind me, and
- 36:46Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm by myself, single, single cell. I mean, look,
- 36:52Speaker 2: I was still married at the time.
- 36:53Speaker 3: There's a mormo on the wall that listen, we we gotta,
- 36:56Speaker 3: we gotta, we got a media guy in here. Let's
- 36:58Speaker 3: please make sure he's not ganged. Okay, Sheriff Johnson. That
- 37:02Speaker 3: would not be good. Good pr would not have gone.
- 37:04Speaker 8: Well.
- 37:05Speaker 2: So here's what happened. So I'm in the and the
- 37:07Speaker 2: most uncomfortable. I mean, you talk. They ain't no my
- 37:10Speaker 2: pillow products in the cell. There was no no mattress topper.
- 37:13Speaker 2: What's the threat count on those sheets? Minus twenty? It
- 37:17Speaker 2: was brutal. But I'm laying there. I'm laying there, and
- 37:21Speaker 2: it was quiet because jails are noisy, you know, they're
- 37:23Speaker 2: all making all the prisoners make noise, and they clang
- 37:26Speaker 2: and they scream, and I don't belong here. And well
- 37:28Speaker 2: they're all yellow at each other. They're talking to each other. Well,
- 37:30Speaker 2: there was a there was a lull, and all of
- 37:32Speaker 2: a sudden, I start hearing Galliger. No, Gallager did a
- 37:40Speaker 2: memo going there. They're we're gonna come f you up.
- 37:46Speaker 2: We're coming to get you. I mean, my blood rand
- 37:50Speaker 2: lord cold. I mean, it was like two in the morning.
- 37:53Speaker 2: It was the middle of the night. Gallagher, We're gonna
- 37:56Speaker 2: get you. It terrified the heck out of me.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Properly, So I got to get to give you now
- 38:01Speaker 3: partial credit. I know that it wasn't going to be
- 38:03Speaker 3: you know, mint on the pillow and cushy slippers, but
- 38:06Speaker 3: I also thought it was going to be pretty hermetically sealed, sanitized.
- 38:10Speaker 3: You just happen to be in a jail cell that
- 38:12Speaker 3: would have that. Yes, so, And I'll.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Tell you if I if I did get locktrop one thing,
- 38:17Speaker 2: I would miss some of the some of the PhD
- 38:21Speaker 2: food that I use when I combined, they don't exactly
- 38:24Speaker 2: have it. That was, they don't have PhD soup behind bars,
- 38:29Speaker 2: but they do when you join the program. There's a
- 38:31Speaker 2: moment nobody talks about when you lose weight. It's the
- 38:33Speaker 2: moment it stops to work the diet and not because
- 38:35Speaker 2: you're go off to jail. The diet that worked before
- 38:38Speaker 2: doesn't work anymore. The workouts don't hit the same even
- 38:42Speaker 2: eating less year not moving the scale. That's because your
- 38:45Speaker 2: metabolism is fighting you. Your body thinks it's under stress,
- 38:49Speaker 2: It slows it down, it holds onto the belly fat
- 38:51Speaker 2: and fights you every step of the way. That's why
- 38:53Speaker 2: doctor Ashley Lucas really changed my life forever. A wonderful
- 38:58Speaker 2: program called PhD Weight Loss and Nutrition. They focus on
- 39:01Speaker 2: restoring that metabolism so your body stops fighting you back.
- 39:04Speaker 2: That's when real change happens. I lost over fifty I've
- 39:08Speaker 2: kept it off. I put a little bit on this
- 39:09Speaker 2: past year, and I took it right back off again
- 39:11Speaker 2: because I know what to do. You will too. Right now,
- 39:15Speaker 2: when you call and mention Mike and Mark, they're going
- 39:17Speaker 2: to add two free weeks to your program. They'll even
- 39:19Speaker 2: pay for the cost of your food. And like I said,
- 39:22Speaker 2: you can use your own food. Hey, start the day
- 39:24Speaker 2: like I do, some scrambled eggs, a little bit of bacon.
- 39:26Speaker 2: You can have salad with blue cheese, dressing, steaks, mushrooms,
- 39:31Speaker 2: all kinds of veggies. And they also have their own
- 39:33Speaker 2: line of food that you can use as well, and
- 39:36Speaker 2: they'll pay for the entire cost of your food. When
- 39:38Speaker 2: you call right now for a limited time, that's a
- 39:40Speaker 2: fifteen hundred dollars value. So make that phone call that
- 39:42Speaker 2: can change your life. Eight sixty four six four four
- 39:45Speaker 2: nineteen hundred. Eighty sixty four six four four nineteen hundred.
- 39:49Speaker 2: That's eighty six four six four four nineteen hundred. Or
- 39:51Speaker 2: visit myphdeweightloss dot com, myphdeweightloss dot com.
- 39:55Speaker 3: And let me say that may be why that may
- 39:57Speaker 3: be part of why you are taken for younger than
- 39:59Speaker 3: you are, because you're just in better shape and feeling
- 40:02Speaker 3: better and losing enough that kind of thing. You know,
- 40:04Speaker 3: I think that might have been part and parcel of
- 40:06Speaker 3: why you were able to pass for forty two.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Well, yeah, Ford, I wish thirty nine and holding, but
- 40:11Speaker 2: I can't happily report. I'm going to share something with you.
- 40:14Speaker 2: You're ready for some news about the podcast and our sponsors. Why, Yes,
- 40:18Speaker 2: seven people have already signed up on the PhD program
- 40:22Speaker 2: as a direct result of the M and M extra.
- 40:25Speaker 2: How cool is that?
- 40:26Speaker 3: Hell? Because are people lighter people? That is spectacular.
- 40:30Speaker 2: And we're new here. This is a new this is

- 40:50Speaker 3: how many people in the last few days have signed

- 41:47Speaker 2: a little bit of an unusual price point, but hey,
- 41:49Speaker 2: is what it is. Five dollars a yeah, I know
- 41:53Speaker 2: y eighty three eight three works for me. Gotta be
- 41:56Speaker 2: a reason five eighty three a month. Getting started is easy.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Just go to e KKL dot com. That's Echo e
- 42:02Speaker 2: kk l dot com, you know, Mark. One thing about
- 42:06Speaker 2: the podcast is how I feel like I have a
- 42:09Speaker 2: little more liberated and I can get a little more personal.
- 42:13Speaker 2: And I do want to get personal and explain why
- 42:15Speaker 2: I'd like to bail out of here in the next
- 42:17Speaker 2: few minutes because I'm going to meet my handyman who's
- 42:20Speaker 2: going to make a couple of adjustments to my condo
- 42:23Speaker 2: as part of the list that my buyers wanted. And
- 42:27Speaker 2: that was fine. I mean, they had an expectation that
- 42:29Speaker 2: there'd be some things, But Mark, how cool is it?
- 42:32Speaker 2: I sold, I sold the condo, I sold the.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Guest yesterday, filled with a personal moment that no no, no, no, no,
- 42:39Speaker 3: don't do it gravity and such meaning and such faith
- 42:42Speaker 3: and as like. Part of the reason I love the podcast,
- 42:45Speaker 3: Mark is I'm able to peel the curtains back and
- 42:47Speaker 3: share things that are really deep and personally but literally
- 42:51Speaker 3: I'll tell you what I'm not sneezing, because you're right,
- 42:53Speaker 3: I'm just having a little fun here. It is a
- 42:55Speaker 3: magnificent day when you get to close on this condo
- 42:58Speaker 3: you've been trying to sell for a long long time.
- 43:00Speaker 3: What were those last dotted eyes and crossed team?
- 43:03Speaker 2: Well, I mean just a couple of minor things that
- 43:05Speaker 2: they wanted, which is okay because hey, they're paying for
- 43:07Speaker 2: it and they want But here's what's great. Like you said,
- 43:10Speaker 2: I've been wanting to sell it for a while and
- 43:12Speaker 2: I never even put it on the market, so that's
- 43:14Speaker 2: kind of cool. I put it on briefly and then
- 43:17Speaker 2: I took it off, and it's part and people and
- 43:19Speaker 2: the audience has been on the journey with me because
- 43:21Speaker 2: I love this condo. It's so perfect and I'm going
- 43:24Speaker 2: to miss the heck out of it. But it's the
- 43:26Speaker 2: right thing to do. It's part of sort of my
- 43:28Speaker 2: financial steps, you know, at sixty six, I'm thinking, Hey,
- 43:31Speaker 2: what's ten years from now going to look like blah
- 43:33Speaker 2: blah blah. So sell the condo, get completely debt free,
- 43:37Speaker 2: get into another place, kind of start over in a way,
- 43:39Speaker 2: and it's exciting. Although I don't know about do you
- 43:43Speaker 2: hate moving the way? How many moves do you think
- 43:45Speaker 2: you've done in your life?
- 43:47Speaker 3: Is not nearly as seven or eight in my like
- 43:52Speaker 3: front in my adult life, which is nothing for people
- 43:55Speaker 3: in radio. Are you kidding? And I haven't looked in
- 43:58Speaker 3: eighteen years you've been in the same house. We're kind
- 44:02Speaker 3: of looking at the same downsizing thing. But there's there's
- 44:05Speaker 3: no pain in the neck bigger than moving. And you
- 44:07Speaker 3: never know how much crap you have until you try
- 44:10Speaker 3: to move it.
- 44:11Speaker 2: So I guess what I'm guess what I'm doing. I
- 44:14Speaker 2: found a company, I thought, I asked Chad Gpt. Is
- 44:18Speaker 2: there's such a thing as like a mover's concierge, like
- 44:22Speaker 2: somebody who handles the move Do you know they're everywhere?
- 44:26Speaker 2: Did you?
- 44:27Speaker 3: Everything is everywhere?
- 44:28Speaker 2: I know absolutely, But this is now a thing where
- 44:31Speaker 2: you can hire somebody. They they will come in. They're
- 44:36Speaker 2: going to pack everything, everything, take out, all the drawers out,
- 44:39Speaker 2: but everything.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Also called a moving company that just offers really really
- 44:43Speaker 3: high level service.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Let me finish, let me let me explain what they
- 44:46Speaker 2: else they do. Not only do they handle them, Not
- 44:49Speaker 2: only do they handle that part, and they handle all
- 44:52Speaker 2: the movers they they bring in their moving company they
- 44:55Speaker 2: work with and here we go when they get into
- 44:58Speaker 2: the new place. Not only do they unpack but they
- 45:02Speaker 2: put everything up for you and organize it professionally in
- 45:05Speaker 2: every room of the house.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Would drive me insane. Just give me the boxes. I'll
- 45:10Speaker 3: put my own. You know, other people put stuff on
- 45:13Speaker 3: shelves for you, and watch for you, watch me.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Watch me, watch me, and you know, and you know what.
- 45:18Speaker 2: One of my kids said the same thing. He said,
- 45:20Speaker 2: Dad is going to make you nuts. You won't be
- 45:22Speaker 2: able to find anything. I said, it ain't that big
- 45:24Speaker 2: a place. I'll find it. I don't want to do it.
- 45:27Speaker 2: You know, I'll get to it. I'll find it, but
- 45:30Speaker 2: I don't want to do it myself. And you know what,
- 45:32Speaker 2: this is my thought. I'd rather this is like she
- 45:36Speaker 2: told me on the phone. Our plan is you should
- 45:38Speaker 2: be able to go to Tahiti for a couple of
- 45:40Speaker 2: days and when you could just come back. You're in
- 45:42Speaker 2: the new place and it's all organized because they're organizers
- 45:46Speaker 2: as well as moving experts of course, so they Oh
- 45:49Speaker 2: my gosh, I'm loving this so much, so pardon me
- 45:53Speaker 2: for bailing. But they do have a loose door knob
- 45:56Speaker 2: that I got to get tight and I don't know
- 45:58Speaker 2: how to do it. Don't tightened doorknobs for you for
- 46:01Speaker 2: an extra seventy. Well that's gonna be for the the
- 46:04Speaker 2: move down the road. But before I close, I got
- 46:06Speaker 2: to get the loose door handle tighten. And do you
- 46:08Speaker 2: think i'd know how to tighten a door handle. I
- 46:10Speaker 2: couldn't tighten a door handle if you had a gun
- 46:12Speaker 2: to my head. I don't even know. I don't know
- 46:14Speaker 2: what end of the screwdriver you hold. I think you
- 46:16Speaker 2: put I think you hold the handle. I don't exactly know.
- 46:19Speaker 3: If that Phillips are a flathead.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Well, I mean you're talking to me crazy talk. I
- 46:24Speaker 2: don't know what language you're speaking. I don't know what
- 46:26Speaker 2: phillips is. Here's how much true.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Till everybody understands. Thank you and Apple and Spotify YouTube
- 46:31Speaker 3: live stream. We're having clearly the time of our lives,
- 46:34Speaker 3: too much fun and am extra We thank you all
- 46:36Speaker 3: for hanging out with us. What is already Wednesday? Tomorrow? Okay,
- 46:40Speaker 3: you know what I'm gonna let you go, which means
- 46:41Speaker 3: there's one thing I'll save I'll package for tomorrow. Yesterday
- 46:45Speaker 3: you had talked about how what maybe what mayor Mom
- 46:47Speaker 3: Donnie should do is listen to these New Yorkers who
- 46:50Speaker 3: don't want him there and politely step away, and I
- 46:53Speaker 3: know way that happens. We learned that indeed, there's no
- 46:56Speaker 3: way that happens. We'll talk about what went into his
- 46:58Speaker 3: decision to absolutely be there, and maybe have seven or
- 47:01Speaker 3: eight other things in the news and on our minds tomorrow.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Sounds like sound sounds like a plan. We'll see you
- 47:06Speaker 2: all tomorrow. Thanks for joining us, Bye bye, be good.
