- 0:06We just took a quick break then, definitely not really recording
- 0:08this part, but Cats and Peng was telling me about his son being a
- 0:12second generational wrestler. Well, he's not had his first
- 0:15match yet, but he's trained at the moment.
- 0:18When do you think he will step foot in the ring and have his
- 0:21first match? Well, as I said, like resting is
- 0:28all about dedication. It's about the effort you put in
- 0:30and the effort you want to do. That is like me, I used to drive
- 0:35every Sunday to train, however long it took, all day long,
- 0:39whatever. And driving to shows XYZ.
- 0:43So initially when he said oh, I need to be arrested, I was like,
- 0:45OK, cool. There's the bus stop.
- 0:47Get make your own way there. I'm not taking you there.
- 0:51Go and get on a bus, which also gives him that independence.
- 0:54He's 14 now. I used to take a bus from when I
- 0:57was 9 or whatever, stupid when you grow up in, in our
- 1:00generation, let's say. So they're, they're, they're a
- 1:05Hobbit generation, aren't they? They all sit in their houses
- 1:07like a little hermit crab. So for me it was like, you need
- 1:10that, get up, go drive. There's the bus stop, 1 bus,
- 1:15that's what it takes. 1 bus and a 5 minute walk.
- 1:17That's all he needs. So for me, it's like, if you
- 1:19want to do it, that's what you're doing.
- 1:21So he started off taking the bus, make friends as you do, you
- 1:27go wrestling training, you make friends you make.
- 1:29And then now he gets the bus some days, but also gets picked
- 1:33up by some of the wrestlers and some of the people training.
- 1:36And for me, it shows that wanting to grow and wanting to
- 1:41do things independently and having to do these things
- 1:43independently and it helps. It's helping him grow.
- 1:47So first match, they have an Academy show on the 15th of
- 1:51November. I mean, it's only just friends
- 1:53and family of these. Yeah, the wrestlers, bear in
- 1:57mind the last one they had. The last one was absolutely
- 2:01unreal. So sorry, can I just veer off on
- 2:05this? Right.
- 2:06The last Academy show, they had a 10 year old versus a 10 year
- 2:10old. And I know other other companies
- 2:12do it, but for me, watching these 10 year olds grow through
- 2:15their training because every now and then I pop down and watch
- 2:18XYZ I've seen. And it was a really good match.
- 2:21It was a fun match and the whole show was absolutely brilliant.
- 2:24So you had the the more the older group against some of the
- 2:27young group I touched on, I mentioned Raymond O'Reilly, who
- 2:32is a phenomenal young talent. He wrestled a nine year old or
- 2:3910 year old, whoever he was and and that was a fun match and he
- 2:42got to wrestle and all the other guys got to do this.
- 2:44And some of the some of the other guys from the adult class,
- 2:48the ones who I'm going to mention one person here, Ryan
- 2:52Russell. So, so Ryan Russell who's just
- 2:56started to get out now, he is somebody that only started doing
- 3:01it to push his son and was only like, OK, I'm going to do it as
- 3:08well. Let's do it together.
- 3:10So and his journey and his his drive, he's got he's got a bit
- 3:15of an old school head as well, which is brilliant.
- 3:17Bret Hart is his favorite. So he loves that sort of old
- 3:20school style. So you can see him doing bits
- 3:22and bobs that, you know, people want to see in this day and age.
- 3:25But so yeah, like seeing these boys and watching this Academy
- 3:29show and watching them grow on this Academy show was brilliant.
- 3:32And then it came to the main event.
- 3:34And I have never cried watching a wrestling match until until
- 3:41that day. What brought on the tears?
- 3:46So John Moores, who runs Genesis Professional Wrestling, he does
- 3:49the, he runs the Academy, he runs all this that and the
- 3:52other, As I said, the last couple of years the, the company
- 3:55has grown for the goods. It's some really good talent in
- 3:58there and this, that and the other.
- 4:00And there was this young, young guy named Will who, who has
- 4:07autism. So he wrestles on the name of
- 4:10Autistic Titan. So he he embraces his autism and
- 4:15and he's he's a good lad. He's a really good lad.
- 4:18And he had his first match main, again, main event versus the
- 4:23owner of the company, John North.
- 4:26And again, see what we're saying about woop.
- 4:30Yeah. And oy oy and all that jazz.
- 4:32Yeah. He has this finger going.
- 4:34Zoop, zoop, zoop, zoop. The whole crowd, the venue was
- 4:37rocking. And he was doing this because
- 4:40he's he's finisher. He's got a little devastating
- 4:42left hook as he's finisher. And John being the absolute pro,
- 4:47he has put this kid over the moon and gave him a platform to
- 4:54work on. And John's known him since the
- 4:58start of his journey and he watched and he kind of like,
- 5:00well, let's go and then see what happens.
- 5:02And well, he did brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
- 5:08And then he grabbed the mic and then he put me to tears.
- 5:13So again, I think the only reason for that was is because
- 5:20you understand, again, same, same thing I was saying with ACW
- 5:24in Cyprus, you understand what this can actually do for people
- 5:28and what it can bring to people. And he grabbed the mic and he
- 5:31was like, I, the quote was, I remember watching John Cena
- 5:37versus The Rock at WrestleMania 27 and 28, or I think it was
- 5:412728 anyway. And he was like, and I knew one
- 5:44day that I was going to do this flood to tears.
- 5:49I was like no way. This direction right away in the
- 5:54podcast, you know, sorry Motion. No mate, it's awesome.
- 5:57I love it. And and I was like, I was
- 5:59sitting there crying, like we're not bawling crying, but like,
- 6:01you know, you feel emotional because because knowing the fact
- 6:05that how long I've done this for and knowing what it's done for
- 6:07me in terms of enabling me to gain friends and, you know,
- 6:10journeys and this, that and the other and great stories.
- 6:14And I sat in there and this. And then he turned around and he
- 6:17went, I'm the Peckham Playboy and I went through.
- 6:22Then he proceeded to challenge me for my title.
- 6:25So me being the hill, I get up, I'm like, I don't know how to do
- 6:30this because in theory my carrots will kick you in the
- 6:33face right now. But I can't do that.
- 6:35I can't ruin your shit. So yeah, their their last show
- 6:41was absolutely phenomenal. It was good to see these guys
- 6:44get that little platform and that opportunity to perform and
- 6:47get these youngsters on shows and seeing that those next guys,
- 6:50the older guys get onto that. So yeah, it was next one's 15th
- 6:54of November. I don't know if he's like, it's
- 6:56only in house, but hopefully fingers crossed Felix gets onto
- 6:59it. He's he he's pushing, he's doing
- 7:02well. So with Sarah goes he wants a a
- 7:05mask gimmick. So I think the next point is to
- 7:07try and get a mask on that do what you want to do.
- 7:09A lot of good feedback. I mean, I'm constantly getting
- 7:14guys at the shows going. I think he's doing well.
- 7:16Do you train him? And I'm like, no, I've had zero
- 7:19input in really. I was going.
- 7:20To say that no input at all, like just OK, the team is there,
- 7:24it's my son I mentioned, just get involved.
- 7:28Fair play. Do you know why?
- 7:32Just maybe like go his make his own journey into wrestling like
- 7:34you said earlier about the boss. Making his own journey and I
- 7:39have faith in the people around him and the coaches around him.
- 7:42As I said, those older heads that are getting on shows like
- 7:45Christian and Ryan and Raymond and Will West and all these
- 7:48other guys that are there at the on the on the shows coming up
- 7:54and kind of like locally doing shows as well.
- 7:57So they're, you know, they're gaining that experience and then
- 7:59pass on to Felix and gaining that.
- 8:02I mean, everything they do is, is safe as hell.
- 8:04So, and to have that feedback of are you training him knows that
- 8:09it's he's doing really well and he pushed from the kids class to
- 8:12the adult class pretty quickly. He was doing 2.
- 8:15He was doing the kids class and the adult class some weekends.
- 8:17So in that sense, he's helping with the kids class some
- 8:20weekends now. So which is?
- 8:22It shows he wants it. Progressed mate, progressed.
- 8:25But that's awesome. I do wish him good luck and
- 8:28there might be tears phone again from you, but I honestly do wish
- 8:31you all good luck. That'd be awesome.
- 8:33Just a few more questions mate, and.
- 8:34Then, mate, I'll let you rest. Your day.
- 8:36No mate, don't be silly, enjoy the chat.
- 8:37Honestly mate, it's been good. So I want to ask because you've
- 8:40talked about his upcoming debut and other people's debuts.
- 8:43Let's talk about your debut, your first ever in ring match.
- 8:51My SO fun fact, my first in ring match was televised.
- 8:59Really. Yeah, so back in the day they
- 9:02had the wrestling Channel one. Yeah.
- 9:04Cool. My first ever match.
- 9:07Bear in mind, I'd been training for three months.
- 9:12That was it, 3 months. I didn't have a clue if I was
- 9:14going on. I didn't know.
- 9:15The last thing I knew was The Rock and John Cena.
- 9:17The Rock and Stone Cold. Not John Cena.
- 9:19Rock and Stone Cold. That was me.
- 9:21That was my generation. I'm like, and then I was like,
- 9:23yes, sweet, you got a, it was a squash match, don't get me
- 9:26wrong. Yeah, OK, cool.
- 9:27Brilliant. The Dominator, Stu Allen.
- 9:31And then I got to the venue and then we had a little
- 9:34conversation. He's an Arsenal fan, isn't he?
- 9:38So we had a good chat was like, so rather than it being a squash
- 9:41match, it was a I'll give you a couple of bits just because
- 9:43you're an Arsenal fan. And then and then you proceed to
- 9:47beat the shit out of me. Televised mate on the wrestling
- 9:52channel though for your debut. Can you explain the wrestling
- 9:55channel for someone that is living under Rock National?
- 9:58Let them off now. Off because it was a while ago.
- 10:00It was a while back, it was, it was a place where they, they did
- 10:04sort of play some old school wrestling and some, you know,
- 10:09couple of different bits and bobs for a different generation.
- 10:12But it was, it was good. It was, was what it was.
- 10:15And the fact that I get got to watch myself and watch myself
- 10:17from that point onwards, I was literally on there every week,
- 10:20growing as a performer, growing as a wrestler.
- 10:23And I, I, I kind of did my wrestling journey the old school
- 10:30way, so to speak. What I mean by that is learning
- 10:33on the job, wrestling those older heads, wrestling those
- 10:37people that have been doing it for years, kind of probably the
- 10:41position I'm in now, but maybe a bit older than me, some of these
- 10:44guys, so. Who were some of these guys,
- 10:46some of the older heads that you were?
- 10:47John Ritchie. Yeah, yeah, I know.
- 10:49Yes, I'm John Ritchie. Karl Kramer they're people that
- 10:54obviously don't wrestle anymore or this, that and the other and
- 10:56also this older hammerlock guys like so you have people like
- 11:00John Moores. What was Johnny Love back then?
- 11:03So he now he runs the Gen. pro school and all these guys that
- 11:06have been doing it on the circuit, you're doing the camps
- 11:09and this, that and the other. So I had them all around me and
- 11:11I had the the people that were sort of with me and we were all
- 11:16growing and and and achieving shit that would go around.
- 11:19I got to travel, got to make so many friends, like people, like
- 11:23car in a while, Pete Dunn, all these people that when they were
- 11:29both all starting, we all kind of wrestled together and it was
- 11:33it was it was a journey, so to speak.
- 11:36That's gone man. Recently you got to wrestle
- 11:38Scotty to hottie. Yeah.
- 11:41Last month, mate, tell me about that wrestling legend, mate.
- 11:43And you wouldn't think like because he's been around for so
- 11:46long. I mean he, he was great still.
- 11:48Yeah. No, he was he.
- 11:50He it was, I think, I think that I cut a promo on it saying I
- 11:56don't know how I feel. And that was that is generally
- 11:58it like if I was like 25 or 26, I'd be like, yeah, this is
- 12:03absolutely from I'm on the back end now.
- 12:05So I see myself. I would have rather wrestled his
- 12:07son. I would have rather helped his
- 12:09son and guide this, his son for a match.
- 12:12So what actually? So it was a singles match, me
- 12:15versus Scotty, and my tag partner was talking about
- 12:20earlier, Tyler Walker. So he he was wrestling his son.
- 12:25And then what happened was it as wrestling does, Tyler and Keegan
- 12:34were wrestling and I end up slipping into the ring.
- 12:38Let's make this A tag team match.
- 12:43And, and it was A tag team match and purposely gave everything to
- 12:55Tyler. What I mean by this is I gave
- 13:00him that opportunity to wrestle Scotty.
- 13:04By that I mean mix it up with Scotty, have a little thing with
- 13:08Scotty. I gave.
- 13:10I gave him the worm. So many people would have fought
- 13:14for that, wouldn't they? Just be done by the Worm in the
- 13:17ring? That doesn't sound why it's
- 13:19saying that. Like if you're not a wrestling
- 13:20fan, but. I gave it to him because for
- 13:24him, as a 23 year old lad came back, it was like, yeah, and and
- 13:32that, that made me feel good, if you know what I mean.
- 13:36I'm like, I'm, I mean, I've not that I've wrestled Scottish way
- 13:40before, but for me, I see myself as at that back end where not
- 13:44back end, but I'm, I'm giving to their next generation.
- 13:47I'm helping them grow. Helping them.
- 13:48Yeah, that's the only reason why I, I I decided to help Tyler
- 13:52Walker kind of bits and mobs in the ring and get him to grow and
- 13:56get him out elsewhere and XYZ. I mean, he doesn't need my help,
- 14:01don't get me wrong, because he is a brilliant talent in a
- 14:03wrestler himself. He did.
- 14:05A short period of time as well and he's.
- 14:06Yeah, that that's, that's the point, like, and there's a
- 14:08couple of pointers that I can give him and help him and guide
- 14:10him. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the
- 14:12finished article, but I've been there long enough to know what
- 14:15to do, when to do it, how to do it.
- 14:17And that's wrestling. Yeah.
- 14:20Mate, honestly. Got the knowledge there really
- 14:22good really I took about an hour and a half champs Scotty right
- 14:27about wrestling and about the journey of wrestling and how
- 14:32it's kind of like. So he coached at WWE.
- 14:36What was the wrestler at WWE? He's currently a coach at AW as
- 14:40well. So he was his son.
- 14:44You know, luckily his son has a name to help him guide him, so
- 14:48he doesn't need to he's good, though he's done to get me
- 14:51wrong. He's a really good talent and he
- 14:53he isn't what we like to call him a modern wrestler.
- 14:57And he because if you think of a modern wrestler, you think of
- 15:01flips, spots, this, that, that, that, that, that, that, that,
- 15:03that, that he's not that style. So he he gives a a different
- 15:07aura and him coming over and wrestling on the British scene a
- 15:11little bit more gives him that little bit different edge than
- 15:14what they're doing over that way.
- 15:15Definitely. So it was, it was good to, it
- 15:19was good. I enjoyed it.
- 15:21It was an opportunity and I was thankful, thankful for the
- 15:23opportunity. But I'm quite glad it turned out
- 15:25the way it did and I gave that opportunity to someone else as
- 15:28well. But I had a good chat and we had
- 15:32a really good conversation about wrestling as a whole and how
- 15:39it's not it. It's not wet.
- 15:42I don't want to sound like a old head wet.
- 15:44It's not the way it should be, but not the way not not the way
- 15:47it not should be. But in terms of the way of
- 15:50storytelling, the way of you portraying a match, the way
- 15:53you're doing things, reason for doing things, why you're doing
- 15:55things, how you're doing things and how that matters.
- 15:59Again, it comes to the whole step out of the curtain like no
- 16:01one knows you. Yeah, OK.
- 16:04I step out of the curtain. Yes.
- 16:06Initially they're going to. They're not going to know who I
- 16:08am. But I've been the 1st 10
- 16:11seconds. They're definitely going to know
- 16:12that this guy's a bell end. Move this dickhead.
- 16:18But that's not through that's just the aura you give and
- 16:24that's through the the attitude you take.
- 16:27Like Freddy Choo Choo straight away vibes.
- 16:32And then you've got the hill character who comes out really,
- 16:35really angry and I can't strikes me so much.
- 16:38The angry hill just sits there like I'm an angry kid booming.
- 16:42But I don't. I just come out.
- 16:43I literally raise my hands in the air like this and I stand
- 16:47there and that's the automatic. I don't like this guy.
- 16:52Fuck him. Yeah.
- 16:54He thinks he's better. That's it.
- 16:55That's it. You ain't even watched it.
- 16:57And, you know, the vibe. It's like, yeah, so, yeah.
- 16:59So. So having a good conversation
- 17:01about that and how important getting the right story in this
- 17:07match, in a match is, is is good.
- 17:09So, yeah, it was a really good chat, to be fair, really good
- 17:12chat. But I had this had the same
- 17:15conversation with Tom Latimer, the N.W.A champion.
- 17:20Yes, yeah. Yeah, so it used to be Bram in
- 17:24TNA. Oh, with Nick elders like they.
- 17:27Don't Yeah, yeah, So yes, same conversation with him.
- 17:30He was like, it's just obviously this day and age, the wrestling,
- 17:33it's like anything like if you think about when I came on the
- 17:35scene, all those older people saying the same thing about me,
- 17:37you know, is this different? But you learn and we grow.
- 17:40And if you think about the Ospreys and this, that and the
- 17:43other, think about Osprey 10:15 You thought 10 years ago,
- 17:46whatever, he's not doing the same shit he was doing men.
- 17:49He's completely the way he does stuff and he just, he's found
- 17:53that that ability to tell the story in the match and the
- 17:57reasons for doing stuff and the like, you do stuff.
- 18:00I think him going to Japan did help in terms of like, OK, just
- 18:03at the moment to sell. You know, yeah, yeah.
- 18:06Get a facial in sort of, you know, show your reaction I
- 18:09think. I mean I've never seen him with
- 18:11porn. Just blew my mind as a fan.
- 18:14But then I just, you forget some of the spots because it's just
- 18:17so quick and there's so much of it and that's awesome.
- 18:20But sometimes let me digest it a little bit.
- 18:22Yeah, like, like like I was when I first died out.
- 18:27Don't get me wrong. Four 50s, sure, it starts all
- 18:31that chance I could do it all. But did they let me do it?
- 18:34No. I'm like, no, you can do one one
- 18:37thing, but the one thing meant a lot.
- 18:41Definitely. Do you know what I mean?
- 18:43I remembered that. Like I just said, I remembered
- 18:46that one spot. I ain't going to remember that.
- 18:48I would like a sequence. I'm going to remember the one
- 18:50bit from it. And that was all it was.
- 18:52You know, I hit moon saw, hit something, something a bit
- 18:54flashing and oh, what? Like that?
- 18:56So yeah, I kind of learned from that and just that's the way I
- 18:59kind of adapted my style, really.
- 19:02And you build to that move as well, fans.
- 19:04Oh, something happened. This could be the finish as
- 19:06opposed to ask him already doing that again, you know, just,
- 19:10well, I think everyone's different.
- 19:11Sometimes it does work for those talents, you know, that just
- 19:13want to go million mph. My match, my last time, sorry,
- 19:19my last time match against Christian Croft.
- 19:22The story was a spear, and that was all it was.
- 19:26It was a spear building up to his top spear building up,
- 19:30building up, building up. So when he hit the move, they
- 19:35knew that that was the move because we've told we've taken
- 19:40them on this journey of they know it's the move, they know
- 19:42it's the move, they know it's the move.
- 19:43Can you hit it? It literally got to the point
- 19:45that the match they were going off the top, but they knew they
- 19:48wanted to see, they wanted to see that move.
- 19:50And then when he hit it, they all just blew up.
- 19:55And then maybe the whining vet rolled out the ring, just took a
- 20:01top spin and rolled out the ring.
- 20:04Can't be. Got a fun question for you.
- 20:07Last question. I say there's a point.
- 20:09It might be as one or two, but I know time's been limited moment
- 20:12at the time recording. But this is the fun question.
- 20:14This doesn't have to be about lesson either, but it doesn't
- 20:16have to be about Arsenal as well.
- 20:19Come on. So Well, for fuck sake's
- 20:20football game. But you're the guest, mate.
- 20:22So, Hazan, please let me know. 3 dream dinner guests for your
- 20:27dream party. Fiction, nonfiction, Dead or
- 20:30alive, past or present. It could be anyone that's gonna
- 20:33be a fucking cartoon character, but three people.
- 20:36Give me a reason to the 1st guest.
- 20:41Go yeah, probably my favorite wrestler of all time, The Rock,
- 20:48yes, purely because it would just be listening to the
- 20:52stories, listening to him chat. He does come off as this quite
- 20:56big persona and it, but I think you could have a decent, really
- 21:00good, deep conversation with him.
- 21:03And obviously that's wrestling wise and my favorite wrestler
- 21:06love, you know, that's my general.
- 21:08That's the generation I watched essentially back into the 2000s,
- 21:13back in the 90s, early 2000s. That was my generation.
- 21:16So yeah. The Rock What's your favorite
- 21:21rock film? Oh.
- 21:23Film. Oh no, sorry, what do?
- 21:25You mean? New match.
- 21:30No, just actual films that he's done.
- 21:32I mean, you can squeeze a match as well.
- 21:33But I'd like to ask this because everyone's got sort of a
- 21:35different answer to Dwayne Johnson filmography.
- 21:40Favorite movies? I like more, as I say, early
- 21:45stuff. I don't know, he's just pretty
- 21:47much action isn't he? So majority of movies are the
- 21:50same. I like the Kevin Hart.
- 21:53I love the fact that the movies with Kevin Hart, it's because
- 21:56they they bounce off each other so well.
- 21:58I like what's get what's that? What's the one that did?
- 22:01There were two cops. Who's the cop with Samuel
- 22:08Jackson? Yeah, no, no, no with Kevin
- 22:11Hart. Potential intelligence.
- 22:13Yes, that's the one. I enjoyed that one.
- 22:14That was quite fun. But in terms of his movies,
- 22:16that's not what I like him for. Obviously I like him for
- 22:19wrestling. Yeah.
- 22:22Rock, Rock, Hogan, WrestleMania, That was that was my favorite
- 22:26match of all time. It was just a phenomenal match.
- 22:29That's. A few match of it, it's when
- 22:31Hogan does his first Hulk up since he's been back another way
- 22:34and the fans actually are just roaring roaring and the Rocks
- 22:37reaction is selling it just like what the fuck and The Rock.
- 22:41And obviously Hogan knows what he's doing at this point.
- 22:43Like, yeah, I. Know what I'm going to fucking
- 22:45baby faces. I don't give a shit for me.
- 22:47And it worked. And the Rock works his ass off
- 22:49because we know Hogan's past his prime, unfortunately.
- 22:52But and he's, yeah, I think he's actually injured going into the
- 22:54match as well. Yeah, yeah, it was.
- 22:55It was, it was, it was unreal. It was unreal.
- 22:57I've actually got it tattooed on the back of my leg.
- 22:59Have you in dinosaur form? So I've got 2 diners, 22T Rexes.
- 23:05Yeah. One with like Tash and the hair,
- 23:08one with the rock with the eyebrow and icon versus icon
- 23:11written on the bottom. I see.
- 23:13That was just my tribute to that match and it was my favorite
- 23:17match of all time. I mean, when I posted it, it was
- 23:20Sid Scala messaged me. I was like, that is my favorite.
- 23:22That is my favorite title ever. It's my favorite match ever as
- 23:25well. He did a little video the other
- 23:27day on his training, Huckle training, just sort of just
- 23:32depict in the match and sort of saying about the match we're
- 23:35going back on to wrestling. But anyway, so next person.
- 23:38Next person, next guest. I guess Thierry Henry again of
- 23:48football wise I get, I think the GOAT, yeah, it's just the goat
- 23:54having that chilled persona persona around you and having
- 23:57that conversation about football.
- 24:00And do you reckon, do you reckon the rocking tier real moment
- 24:02have a great conversation as well?
- 24:05I think they might get a bit preachy by the end of it.
- 24:09I think they both want to like out quite one another.
- 24:12Yeah, yeah, I think that'll be. But anyway, I think those two
- 24:15because that that essentially is me in a nutshell.
- 24:19Football and wrestling and family and kids and wife and,
- 24:23you know, that's pretty much my life.
- 24:26Football, wrestling and kids. Last but not least.
- 24:30All right, sweet last person. Dave Deville.
- 24:35I don't know if you know Dave Deville, but Dave.
- 24:37So Dave Deville, again, as I was saying to you about a wrestler
- 24:41that wrestled with me and grew with me.
- 24:46So Dave Deville was probably a couple years ahead of me
- 24:49wrestling wires at the same age, but he was, he had experience
- 24:56prior to wrestling where I was wrestling at the time.
- 24:59But see, when you like, step into a room and you just lock
- 25:06eyes with someone and instantaneously you're just the
- 25:09best of friends. Yeah, I don't have a moment.
- 25:12Yeah. And that and that was it.
- 25:14We just, we just fell in love. It was absolutely like the best.
- 25:20And since that point, we've both grown as human beings.
- 25:24I mean, it's been what I've known Dave Willow 15 years now,
- 25:29probably can't 20. He moved from.
- 25:34He used to live, actually used to live.
- 25:37This was weird, really weird, because I used to take.
- 25:39We used to go wrestle, do what we've got to do.
- 25:41I used to take him home to Buckingham Palace nonetheless,
- 25:44because he used to work for the Queen.
- 25:48Yeah, I used to work. I used to work.
- 25:51Yeah. He used to work as a footman for
- 25:53the Queen. So he used to work in the palace
- 25:55and I used to take him down. I remember one night going in
- 25:58and then all of a sudden this gun being faced on my head like,
- 26:04it's fine, he's with me. He may be from Peckham, but he's
- 26:06definitely with me. Because I used to just have to
- 26:10drop him there by the the back entrance into the into the.
- 26:15I didn't, I didn't go for the, there was a back entrance that
- 26:18everyone went in, not the front. They go for a front gate of
- 26:20Buckingham Palace. So, yeah, in terms of it like
- 26:24this break, this bond, this friendship, he was the best man
- 26:27on my wedding. It was, it was a friendship that
- 26:31kind of like started from the start or we, we grew together
- 26:34and he moved up to like Chesterfield that sort of way
- 26:39about 10 plus years ago. You know, he's always been
- 26:43interested in my family. We always go up there since my
- 26:45son, since Felix was little, we've been up there, my daughter
- 26:49and now we've grown as a family. It's like we can't come to your
- 26:53house anymore because he works in a, he works for a Manor, He
- 26:56works in a Manor house down there.
- 26:58So he works like a, he kind of looks after the family, so to
- 27:02speak, and their staff and shit like that.
- 27:06So anyway, so he, yeah, so now we've got too big.
- 27:10He's just had a little kid as well and they have dogs.
- 27:13I mean, his wife. So what we do is we kind of meet
- 27:15in the middle somewhere. So we've kind of met around
- 27:18about Norwich somewhere kind of in the middle couple hours each
- 27:21that'll do rather than us drive up to 5-6 hours up to him.
- 27:24So we meet in the middle. So yeah.
- 27:25But Dave, as a human being, he is one of the most amazing human
- 27:30beings you're. Ever going to meet he's.
- 27:31So kind, so generous. And I think despite the fact
- 27:36that he's a Chelsea fan, he would still pop.
- 27:41He's gone out your books now. If you think about the
- 27:47generation, what we grew up, the drug bars and this that and the
- 27:50other like the man of banner we yeah, it was the banner we had
- 27:55was unreal. But he would be that third
- 27:58person 100% on love data bits and he's he's probably my
- 28:02favorite human being in the world.
- 28:04That's. A great answer man, no one has
- 28:06said their best friend before that people say like the missus
- 28:09or you know, maybe like a loved one or I think someone said
- 28:12someone, the neighbor or something before, but actual
- 28:15best friend we could answer mate.
- 28:17And as I said, it's I can sorry, I apologize.
- 28:22It's your mill. Three dreams of the guests.
- 28:25Great answer to why you want them there, but I love it.
- 28:29Where can listeners find you on social media so they can keep up
- 28:32to date with you and your career and potentially your second
- 28:37generation son, what he's got lined up as well?
- 28:40Second Playboy on Facebook. Instagram is on X as well but I
- 28:45don't use it. I'm too old for that.
- 28:47Just to be fair. I only use Instagram and
- 28:50Facebook just to I keep up with things and post my socials on
- 28:54there in terms of my matches and keep in contact with wrestling
- 28:57wise. So yeah, Peck and Playboy,
- 28:58search me up. You find me out there.
- 29:01Most socials there. Yeah, definitely.
- 29:05Wicked, mate, Wicked. And why are you the Peck and
- 29:07Playboy? I always get this question
- 29:11because I was from pet, like growing up in old Kent Rd. my
- 29:15whole life from Peckham. And it just, it just came, yeah,
- 29:19I got a little bit of female attention.
- 29:21And then then it just kind of like happened.
- 29:23And I've kind of like it's a character at the end of the day.
- 29:26It's it's a character that has grown.
- 29:29And then the Captain Pen gimmick, I mean, that was added
- 29:33on in the last. I like that, Monica.
- 29:35I think that's pretty cool. It's, you know what?
- 29:39Yeah. It was that.
- 29:40So I stopped for about a year. Yeah.
- 29:43They've got a new job and all that jazz as you do, and I was
- 29:46sitting and I want to do it again.
- 29:47I want to do it again, I want to do it again.
- 29:48Anyway, then I went to London School Lutulibre and I was like,
- 29:51I need to do this again. My friend Costa, who again I
- 29:54don't know if you know Costa Costa's pro to progress with
- 29:57Malik and this that and the other.
- 29:59So he's still going again about. He wrestles, he goes down to
- 30:02Burgess School as well and friends with car in a while.
- 30:05But anyway, he was like calm down, calm down, calm down.
- 30:07I don't know if you've ever heard of London School Lutulibre
- 30:10when it was about, yeah. I remember like when it was
- 30:14doing shows and stuff quite regularly, wasn't it?
- 30:16It was unreal. It was absolutely unreal, like a
- 30:19facility that. And Boris does it still today.
- 30:24He starts off his session with music dancing, screaming on top
- 30:30of your voice. And imagine going in there when
- 30:34you first when you've been on the wrestling scene for 10 years
- 30:36already and going in there and there's this fucking past music
- 30:40going and everyone's still like like a just can only be
- 30:43described as like a satanic ritual around the fire like just
- 30:47he does it all the time and he's got a reason for it.
- 30:51And it's you're standing in the middle of a ring in your pants.
- 30:57You've got to feel comfortable in screaming and yelling and
- 31:01these your peers, essentially, he does it for that reason.
- 31:05Are you willing to do that or are you not?
- 31:07I mean, wrestling at the end of the day is entertainment, right?
- 31:10So I can have a comedy match one side and, you know, and then a
- 31:15serious match the other side. If everyone done everything the
- 31:17same, then it's not going to be a show, is it?
- 31:19It's it's that's that's the point.
- 31:20And he kind of he does this dance and this, this, this, it's
- 31:25it's phenomenal. And from that point, yeah, it
- 31:27was just I was sitting there going, I love Christian, Captain
- 31:34Charisma. Yeah, Peng is just such a London
- 31:40term. It is.
- 31:43And it's such a London term. I was like Captain Peng, you're
- 31:47my best mate of. All the time.
- 31:51I've got yeah. So it was like has to be done.
- 31:54So I added that one there. And then again, it was the
- 31:57Turkish delight added on top of that.
- 31:59And who's to come out with the fucking?
- 32:02Who's to come out with a note inside me pants and dig inside
- 32:05my pants and pull this long list of names out and then get the
- 32:07person to read all the names. And so that was fun.
- 32:10There's a really cool picture of me and Charles Crowley prior to
- 32:14being Charles Crowley, and he's down there looking at me like
- 32:17this with me, really, unless you have the notes stuck on my mouth
- 32:20like that and getting him to read it.
- 32:22So yeah, it was that was the century where it came from.
- 32:25Sitting down at work one day. By work, I mean a train.
- 32:30So I was driving a train and I was sitting there going, what's
- 32:33going on? And then I was like, yeah,
- 32:34that'll do. Wicked mate, wicked.
- 32:37It's such a good Monica. But thank you for coming on
- 32:39mate. Does mean a lot.
- 32:41We were actually going to do this a bit earlier, but then on
- 32:44holiday both did well. Edinburgh if you count it, but
- 32:47it's like the real place there on holiday and and obviously
- 32:52it's flown by. So this two-part episode.
- 32:54Hope you all enjoyed it. Give Captain Peng, I just love
- 32:58it. Just give him a follow on his
