- 0:42And my links are down below also because I upload 4 videos every
- 0:44single day on those. OK so guys, occupational therapy
- 0:48and autism. Very interesting.
- 0:50I didn't have occupational therapy until I was 32 years
- 0:53old. Oh my goodness, I went all my
- 0:56life without occupational therapy, right?
- 0:57And I didn't really know about it.
- 0:58I was doing a talk for an autism conference in Wales and it was a
- 1:02really big autism talk, a big autism conference.
- 1:04And when I was there I bumped into some occupational
- 1:07therapists who worked for the Welsh Autism Association and
- 1:10they were amazing and they offered me a session.
- 1:12I said OK cool. So I went to their offices and
- 1:14and it was all to do with proprioception and the sensory
- 1:17diet. Because autism comes with
- 1:19sensory processing disorder right?
- 1:20With everyone knows. Oh and FYI guys, if you want
- 1:23your hands on my free Autism Wifax PDF book, the link is
- 1:26encrypting down below or you can just go to autismhacks.net and
- 1:29download your copyright now. So with this occupational
- 1:32therapy, I didn't know what to expect.
- 1:33Now I went in there and I was mind blown.
- 1:36What an occupational therapist does is they look at the section
- 1:39of your condition that you need most help with and they will
- 1:42help you with strategies in that just one place of that
- 1:44condition. So for me it was appropriate
- 1:46section, like I could open a door but not open it wide enough
- 1:49to go through because I wasn't sure my spatial awareness and
- 1:52this was all to do with deep muscle activation.
- 1:54I couldn't, I wasn't activating my muscles.
- 1:55So they gave me the sensory diet to do, which I put into one of
- 1:59my courses, which is the Autism Acceleration Academy.
- 2:01I will leave that link for that down below if you're interested
- 2:04in checking that out. And that course I, I go through
- 2:07the sensory diet and it's kind of one of the main focuses of it
- 2:09because it's kind of like deep muscle activation so that you
- 2:12can understand your spatial awareness.
- 2:14And it's crazy how doing muscle activation exercises help
- 2:19increase your spatial awareness and lower the negative impact of
- 2:22sensory processing disorder. Now for me, occupational therapy
- 2:26was life changing. I know a lot of people have
- 2:28issues with therapists and things like that, but I'd highly
- 2:31recommend speaking to an occupational therapist if you
- 2:33have insurance that covers it or you have access to it with your
- 2:35healthcare system in the country that you live in.
- 2:38I know here I had it with the NHS here, which is our National
- 2:40Health Service. But a lot of people don't have
- 2:43access to occupational therapy. There is other therapies
- 2:46available. I think that counselling was the
- 2:47second best that I ever had. Now, if you're interested in
- 2:50having a counselling therapy session, you can use the app
- 2:53down below called Better Help. I've used this.
- 2:55They link you up to somebody specific to you for like ADHD or
- 2:58autism within 24 to 48 hours. And you just use your phone like
- 3:02you can like talk to them on your iPhone.
- 3:04You can message them, you can video chat them.
- 3:06And it's amazing. So definitely check out Better
- 3:08Help. The link will be down below.
- 3:09I really enjoy it. I think it's amazing.
- 3:11And yeah, if you think this video is helpful, please share
- 3:13it and leave me a comment. Love you guys.
