- 1:00Speaker 1: at you guys like the support is clear because you
- 1:04Speaker 1: guys have a ton of questions and want them answered.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Last episode, if you missed, it was focused more on pitching.
- 1:12Speaker 1: This one, we're going to talk about the offense. Yes,
- 1:15Speaker 1: you guys want to know are they adding offense you
- 1:18Speaker 1: have some thoughts, you have some ideas. Let's get right
- 1:22Speaker 1: to it. Gary's garage wants to a cub. Definitely need pitching.
- 1:27Speaker 1: The offense definitely needs another hitter. Tucker is gone, and
- 1:31Speaker 1: you can't seriously think guys like happens to.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Be depended on Patrick.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Like we ended the last episode talking a little bit
- 1:39Speaker 1: about app and I just you know, he is going
- 1:42Speaker 1: to be the punching bag for as long as he's here.
- 1:45Speaker 1: He just doesn't fully get appreciated. But he he's going
- 1:49Speaker 1: to be twenty percent above league average year in and
- 1:52Speaker 1: year out. That's his offensive production. Is he a superstar
- 1:56Speaker 1: on offense? No? Does he get hot for a couple
- 2:00Speaker 1: of months, Yes, that that almost always happens. Does he
- 2:04Speaker 1: have like little slumps here and there. Sure, but he
- 2:07Speaker 1: takes his walks, he doesn't chase. He puts up good
- 2:09Speaker 1: at bats. He usually hits Righty's really well. I just
- 2:16Speaker 1: you know, I get it depended on I don't know,
- 2:20Speaker 1: like is he a star like? I think, you know,
- 2:24Speaker 1: like he he puts up solid offensive numbers. He's a
- 2:28Speaker 1: good ballplayer. I think there's just reasons why he gets crushed.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And I think strike like I think his early career
- 2:38Speaker 1: probably colors some stuff. And Danzy Swanson's an average league hitterer,
- 2:42Speaker 1: that's just what he is. Yeah, I think I get,
- 2:46Speaker 1: Like I totally I shouldn't say. I think I totally
- 2:48Speaker 1: get the consternation of like if they're gonna let Tucker walk,
- 2:53Speaker 1: like what are they doing? Like, I feel like I
- 2:56Speaker 1: have this conversation beyond just the podcast. I have it
- 3:00Speaker 1: with friends and random fans that I happen to run into,
- 3:04Speaker 1: like are they really not adding offense? I think it's
- 3:07Speaker 1: a completely fair question, and I think it'll I think
- 3:11Speaker 1: in the end it's going to just be like they'll
- 3:12Speaker 1: be opportunistic with it, but it isn't their top priority.
- 3:16Speaker 1: They're not going to be super aggressive. They buy a
- 3:18Speaker 1: Steros and Casey are going to play.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I think wherever Gary's garage is, whatever that is.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I think it's onto something.
- 3:31Speaker 4: I think we had to establish from our side, on
- 3:37Speaker 4: the reporting side of just like, okay, where are their
- 3:39Speaker 4: heads at? Yes, it's pitching, pitching, pitching. It's an obvious need.
- 3:43Speaker 4: They need some kind of like insurance policies, some safeguards
- 3:47Speaker 4: for after the season, as well as you point out
- 3:51Speaker 4: to how to there are just more, more and better
- 3:54Speaker 4: pitchers out there than position players. That's a part of
- 3:57Speaker 4: it as well. But I think as we get deeper
- 4:00Speaker 4: into the offseason and once you see the team that
- 4:04Speaker 4: shows up in Mesa, once the Cups start playing real
- 4:08Speaker 4: games in April at a cold Wrigley Field, that might
- 4:12Speaker 4: be the worst offensive environment.
- 4:14Speaker 2: In the National League.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Like, yes, Tucker's absence, what they did on the pitching
- 4:19Speaker 4: side will become a bigger, much bigger part of the story.
- 4:22Speaker 4: And yeah, we shouldn't just gloss over like Kyle Tucker. Yes,
- 4:25Speaker 4: he had a disappointing second half, He's still going to
- 4:27Speaker 4: get paid. He still has the track record of an
- 4:31Speaker 4: elite offensive performer, and that you know, when things were
- 4:36Speaker 4: going really well, Tucker wasn't like, you know, necessarily the
- 4:42Speaker 4: main the main guy like you had Saya, you had
- 4:46Speaker 4: Pete kind of doing big things offensively. But your counsel
- 4:49Speaker 4: made this point and it really stuck with me. It
- 4:51Speaker 4: was probably just before the All Star break when Tucker
- 4:56Speaker 4: was you know, about to go to Atlanta, was still
- 4:58Speaker 4: his numbers are still obviously he was still sort of
- 5:01Speaker 4: like dealing with stuff and things were going.
- 5:03Speaker 3: To begin to trend. The other way.
- 5:06Speaker 4: But Counsel's point was, like, even when Tucker has a
- 5:09Speaker 4: quiet game, you look up or you look at the
- 5:11Speaker 4: box score and he might have like a single.
- 5:13Speaker 3: In a walk, you know what I mean, or like.
- 5:17Speaker 4: A double stolen base and run scored, like just like
- 5:21Speaker 4: stuff like that. Like even just because of how he
- 5:23Speaker 4: sort of carried himself and how consistent he had been
- 5:27Speaker 4: earlier in his career, just the way he kind of
- 5:29Speaker 4: goes about the game.
- 5:31Speaker 3: He was just kind of put up numbers. And I
- 5:34Speaker 3: think it's gonna be hard.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Maybe maybe Moisspiosteros as a star, maybe one case that
- 5:40Speaker 4: he runs with this opportunity, But I don't I know
- 5:43Speaker 4: they say we could play a game tomorrow with this
- 5:45Speaker 4: group of hitters. I still think they're they're looking, they're
- 5:48Speaker 4: going to be looking, And I don't know if this
- 5:50Speaker 4: is just how we're kind of consuming or processing the offseason.
- 5:55Speaker 4: I don't know if like maybe the pitching markets moving first.
- 5:58Speaker 4: That seems to be why they signed spin Rate, Like
- 6:03Speaker 4: we'll see who's round kind of after a Cubs convention,
- 6:09Speaker 4: who's still out there. I think they can still be
- 6:11Speaker 4: opportunistic and add an interesting hitter, even if it's not
- 6:15Speaker 4: on like a ten year contract or something like that.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I think we're spending a lot of time focused on
- 6:23Speaker 1: pitching because that's just how they've framed it and how
- 6:26Speaker 1: we've expected things to go. Yeah, I mean by steros
- 6:32Speaker 1: in case he could be really good and maybe it
- 6:34Speaker 1: is time for them to get playing time, every day
- 6:37Speaker 1: playing time. I just wouldn't I understand all the concern
- 6:43Speaker 1: about like Tucker. They went out of their way to
- 6:46Speaker 1: get Tucker like they obviously think highly of them. I
- 6:50Speaker 1: think the way he gets he will eventually get paid,
- 6:54Speaker 1: will show that the league thinks highly of him. He's
- 6:56Speaker 1: an impactful player, There's no doubt about it. Also, just look,
- 7:01Speaker 1: I just want to say this about Ian Half. He
- 7:04Speaker 1: had he had a good He had a good season.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It was probably like a down season for him, but
- 7:07Speaker 1: he had a one sixteen way to runs created plus
- 7:10Speaker 1: that was that that's pretty good on a on a
- 7:12Speaker 1: really good offense, on a team that was you know,
- 7:15Speaker 1: top ten offensively, top five offensively depending on some statistics.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I also, I think it's important to give Ian Half
- 7:24Speaker 1: props for the leader he became and and the like
- 7:28Speaker 1: he sets an example for younger players. I don't think
- 7:32Speaker 1: he was always on that trajectory, at least from the
- 7:35Speaker 1: outside looking in.
- 7:36Speaker 2: It didn't seem like he was early on. He is.
- 7:40Speaker 1: He sets an example for others. I believe he he
- 7:44Speaker 1: showed he loves being in Chicago. He understands uh like
- 7:49Speaker 1: the history of the Cubs.
- 7:51Speaker 5: Uh.
- 7:51Speaker 1: He he talks a lot about how you know, uh,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you have to appreciate being in this city and with
- 7:59Speaker 1: that organization. And I think he rarely cherish cherishes his
- 8:04Speaker 1: time in Chicago. Frankly, I think, you know, fans may
- 8:09Speaker 1: want him out. I think he'd love to be a
- 8:11Speaker 1: cup forever. I think he his preference would just be
- 8:15Speaker 1: to retire a cup. But I don't know if that's
- 8:20Speaker 1: that'll happen. But that's that, that would be his preference.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Speaking of.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Oh wait, actually that's a that's a later that's a
- 8:29Speaker 1: later question. So we'll get to that question later. I
- 8:32Speaker 1: was going to talk about extensions, but uh, here's here's
- 8:35Speaker 1: more Tucker talk. Do you think there is zero possibility
- 8:38Speaker 1: that the Cubs resigned Tucker or is there at least
- 8:41Speaker 1: a minimum chance. I think it's pretty close to zero.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And I think the answer is does his market crater
- 8:48Speaker 1: and and he's still on the you know, on the
- 8:52Speaker 1: market by February.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I think that's the only shot, right, Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 4: I wouldn't after how the Cubs pulled off the Dexter
- 8:59Speaker 4: Falery Union, which I think he had a reported deal
- 9:02Speaker 4: with like the Orioles, and shows up at spring training,
- 9:07Speaker 4: and even I think players were like, wait, that looks
- 9:09Speaker 4: like Dexter, Like it's not zero, but I mean highly
- 9:14Speaker 4: unlikely he comes back. I know Cubs fans who watched
- 9:19Speaker 4: Tucker every day in the second half, or followed, you
- 9:24Speaker 4: know whatever, the September trip to Tampa to or his
- 9:29Speaker 4: physical therapists, I know, like that final image in Chicago
- 9:34Speaker 4: was not the greatest. But I think if you look
- 9:37Speaker 4: at his overall body of work and understand how the
- 9:40Speaker 4: rest of the baseball industry views him, I think the
- 9:43Speaker 4: Cubs are operating under the insumption that he will be
- 9:46Speaker 4: playing on a different team next year.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed, All right, let's take a quick break and
- 9:51Speaker 1: come back and answer more questions about the offense.
- 9:54Speaker 5: Hey, for all the parents out there with teams, it's
- 9:56Speaker 5: more hectic now than ever.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Cash App's gonna help not her with.

- 10:54Speaker 1: All right, we're talking about potential offensive editions. Hamdbone has
- 11:00Speaker 1: a couple ideas he wants someone like au Hannio Suarez
- 11:07Speaker 1: or Kazuma Okamoto be a fit for this team. I
- 11:10Speaker 1: think that players could get every day be He had
- 11:13Speaker 1: a longer idea. His His thought was like, these guys
- 11:16Speaker 1: could get some playing time at third base, and then
- 11:19Speaker 1: vers lefties moved to d h. Shaw would then play
- 11:22Speaker 1: on those days and and then you'd insert Casey uh
- 11:26Speaker 1: and and Biasteros versus rities. I think it's a good idea.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I think, yes, do these guys make sense. I think
- 11:37Speaker 1: Suarez probably isn't going to get the type of deal
- 11:40Speaker 1: that maybe it seemed like he would at the middle
- 11:44Speaker 1: of the season.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I don't know off the.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Top of my head how old he is, but you know,
- 11:50Speaker 1: I don't think that he's going to get some monster contract.
- 11:53Speaker 1: And and maybe he uh, maybe he lingers on the market.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Okamoto is obviously posted, and I think he's I don't
- 12:01Speaker 1: know when the window closes for his posting, sometime in January,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I would assume, And like, it just depends on his
- 12:11Speaker 1: market as well. I do think both could make sense.
- 12:15Speaker 1: It's going to be all about cost. Maybe the Cubs
- 12:19Speaker 1: are doing that thing that they did with Showda and
- 12:22Speaker 1: just being quiet about their interest in Okamoto, and he
- 12:25Speaker 1: could be a fit I think I think these types
- 12:30Speaker 1: of deals are the type that the Cubs do. Like
- 12:34Speaker 1: Okamoto is someone he's about the same age, say it
- 12:38Speaker 1: was when he came over, you know, I think a
- 12:42Speaker 1: slightly different profile, but he is more contact oriented with power.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I do think the Cubs probably like his profile.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I just it depends on their budget what type of
- 12:58Speaker 1: picture they add, because pitching is the priority. So I
- 13:02Speaker 1: just think, you know, I understand where you're coming from,
- 13:07Speaker 1: handbone and think it does make sense. I hate that
- 13:11Speaker 1: we always, like a lot of times we end up
- 13:14Speaker 1: we're just like, well, what it was cost?
- 13:16Speaker 2: What's the price? What's the budget?
- 13:17Speaker 1: And I think that's probably the what it comes down
- 13:21Speaker 1: to here. But both of these guys are the type
- 13:23Speaker 1: where I don't think the market gets out of hand
- 13:26Speaker 1: and the Cubs could be on the periphery probably not
- 13:30Speaker 1: like these are the leaders for this player.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Well, I mean that's how the front office looks at it.
- 13:36Speaker 4: They're like, Okay, what's the price, how many years, how
- 13:39Speaker 4: many dollars, how's it fit in to the budget. And
- 13:41Speaker 4: part of that is just their philosophy, and part of
- 13:43Speaker 4: it is the parameters in which they're operating as a
- 13:47Speaker 4: big market team that does not quite spend to the
- 13:50Speaker 4: level of a lot of their peer franchisees, and so
- 13:54Speaker 4: Suarez this is more of a gut feel like.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I feel like the Cubs.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Sort of viewed him as a lit to all or nothing,
- 14:01Speaker 4: hot and cold, like that's part of why they didn't
- 14:04Speaker 4: bring him in for those two months. They just didn't
- 14:06Speaker 4: really know they're going to get. Obviously, he had a
- 14:09Speaker 4: monster season overall. It felt like he was a little
- 14:12Speaker 4: more quiet after that trade Arizona, but still had some
- 14:15Speaker 4: some moments on a playoff team there in Seattle, right, yeah,
- 14:21Speaker 4: in Seattle. So like sure makes sense, not quite sure.
- 14:27Speaker 4: But I think what Hambone's getting at is how the
- 14:29Speaker 4: Cubs are looking at this of like, all right, maybe
- 14:33Speaker 4: we're not jumping out to sign a position player, you know,
- 14:38Speaker 4: Thanksgiving week, but we want to be involved in all
- 14:41Speaker 4: these conversations. We'll see what sort of fits. I mean,
- 14:45Speaker 4: he's leaves Sowars is thirty four years old. I still
- 14:49Speaker 4: think a team could come in there and just offer
- 14:51Speaker 4: him like a monster aav maybe over over two years,
- 14:56Speaker 4: and kind of be like all right, like see you.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 15:02Speaker 1: It's probably someone's going to offer too much for what
- 15:05Speaker 1: they're they're looking to do there, but I think those
- 15:09Speaker 1: would be like the top end offensive editions. Right, they're
- 15:13Speaker 1: not shopping in the Tucker Schwarber, Peter Alonzo.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I'm probably missing a big name.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Uh, well, you know what, I guess we we haven't
- 15:25Speaker 1: brought up Yeah, Bregmant.
- 15:26Speaker 2: We haven't brought up Bregman.
- 15:28Speaker 1: You can't rule it out because they were so heavily
- 15:31Speaker 1: involved last time. I just don't know where that market
- 15:34Speaker 1: is going, and I haven't heard a lot yet about that,
- 15:38Speaker 1: which is interesting, which may be what we have been
- 15:41Speaker 1: getting at. Uh. Maybe the pitching market is just the
- 15:44Speaker 1: one that moves faster and earlier, and and that's that
- 15:48Speaker 1: they've felt that out, and and that's what they're focused on.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Maybe that's all it is. Maybe it's as simple as that.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Uh Okay, here's the question I was kidding app before,
- 15:59Speaker 1: David Pollar. With so many players off the books after
- 16:02Speaker 1: twenty six, can we talk extension?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Nico would be most preferable, but comps are tough. He
- 16:06Speaker 2: mentioned a couple of comps.
- 16:07Speaker 1: You mentioned, Tommy Edmund, JP Crawford, one other name that
- 16:12Speaker 1: I'm blanking on that he mentioned, and then does it.
- 16:14Speaker 2: But he also added, like all those guys.
- 16:16Speaker 1: That he mentioned have more power, different profiles, and he
- 16:19Speaker 1: wonders just something like five eighty million work. I haven't
- 16:23Speaker 1: done enough research on comps here, but I think if
- 16:28Speaker 1: you're talking about all the guys who are entering their
- 16:33Speaker 1: final season, it'd be Nico, Hap, Saya, Suzuki, Jamison Tyne,
- 16:38Speaker 1: Matthew Boyd, Carson Kelly. I'm probably missing one one or two,
- 16:43Speaker 1: but that's those are the main names. I think Nico's
- 16:48Speaker 1: the one that would make the most sense. You're talking
- 16:51Speaker 1: about an elite defender. You're talking about someone that I
- 16:56Speaker 1: believe will be entering his age twenty nine season. So
- 17:00Speaker 1: not not it's not getting out of hand. He's got
- 17:03Speaker 1: the type of characteristics that I guess you could be concerned,
- 17:07Speaker 1: like the speed and athleticism could degrade. So it all
- 17:13Speaker 1: depends on what he's willing to take, you know. I
- 17:16Speaker 1: think he it's not exactly like Hap, but I do
- 17:20Speaker 1: believe his uh is it his wife now?
- 17:23Speaker 2: His his wife is in the area. I believe they're
- 17:27Speaker 2: they're happy in Chicago. UH.
- 17:31Speaker 1: And Nico, for me, has gone like we talked about
- 17:36Speaker 1: Ian Hap before, but Nico went to another level this
- 17:40Speaker 1: year when it comes to leadership and and makeup and
- 17:45Speaker 1: the intensity that he brings. We mentioned this, I I
- 17:50Speaker 1: mentioned this after they were eliminated. But the way he
- 17:53Speaker 1: reacts to losses and the way he the expectations he
- 17:58Speaker 1: puts on himself and the people around him. Uh, I
- 18:01Speaker 1: really liked that. I admire it, and and like it
- 18:04Speaker 1: was almost hard to talk to him after that loss
- 18:07Speaker 1: to the Brewers because he was so intense. It was like, Okay,
- 18:11Speaker 1: you're you're gonna put You're gonna make everyone depressed, like
- 18:14Speaker 1: you like you're this is really like, uh, but.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I like that. I like that intensity.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Uh.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I remember specifically in Atlanta, they had an awful showing
- 18:25Speaker 1: in game one of a three game series against Atlanta,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and Council.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Was who was pretty direct about how bad.
- 18:33Speaker 1: They looked and and Nico was just like called him out,
- 18:37Speaker 1: Like and I like that. That's a he's a leader,
- 18:40Speaker 1: he's an elite defensive second baseman, and he just put
- 18:44Speaker 1: up his best season. So it's a good idea for
- 18:46Speaker 1: him to probably uh talk about that, uh and talk
- 18:51Speaker 1: about an extension and try and maximize it.
- 18:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I believe he had a one O nine way to
- 18:55Speaker 1: runs great a press plus that's his best year. Uh,
- 18:58Speaker 1: go go out there and try and get your money.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Or maybe maybe he's just gonna say, like, I'm gonna
- 19:02Speaker 1: hit free agency and you know someone's gonna pay middle
- 19:05Speaker 1: pay me like a shortstop.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I was just gonna say.
- 19:08Speaker 2: The comp.
- 19:10Speaker 4: That is tough that you have to keep in mind
- 19:12Speaker 4: is yes, this guy is a proven major league shortstop.
- 19:17Speaker 4: And so how do you sort of h you get
- 19:23Speaker 4: paid like a shortstop? Do you market yourself as a shortstop?
- 19:25Speaker 4: Do you not explore your options because you are this
- 19:29Speaker 4: like homegrown anchor for a historic franchise, like because you know,
- 19:36Speaker 4: five and eighty for an everyday shortstop sounds kind of light.
- 19:43Speaker 3: But Nico can't be an everyday shortstop on the Cubs
- 19:46Speaker 3: as long as Dansby Swanson is still there. So I
- 19:48Speaker 3: think that.
- 19:49Speaker 4: David's on the right track of like an interesting story
- 19:52Speaker 4: that we're going to be following, certainly Nico Horner's short
- 19:56Speaker 4: term and long term future.
- 19:58Speaker 1: All right, let's take one more quick break and wrap
- 20:01Speaker 1: this podcast up.
- 20:03Speaker 5: If you are still carrying a clunky leather brick that
- 20:07Speaker 5: can be mistaken for an old school wallet, may i
- 20:10Speaker 5: introduce you to what Eric Kratz is getting himself for
- 20:14Speaker 5: the holidays.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I mean, this is the greatest wallet that I've ever
- 20:18Speaker 1: seen in my life. Your credit card's fitting here, It's adjustable,
- 20:22Speaker 1: lifetime guaranteed. Like what like?
- 20:25Speaker 2: This is a must have for the holidays.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Absolute must have Ridge Olive matt That is a design
- 20:32Speaker 5: that Kratz has right now and you can get.
- 20:34Speaker 2: A hold of that.
- 20:35Speaker 5: There's over fifty plus colors and styles to choose from.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Over at Ridge. You can even get a wallet that
- 20:40Speaker 5: features every NFL, MLB or college team. And for a
- 20:43Speaker 5: limited time, Ridge is having their huge Black Friday sale.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Head to Ridge dot com slash foul to get up
- 20:49Speaker 5: to forty seven percent off your order. This is by
- 20:51Speaker 5: far the biggest discount they've given all year. That's Ridge
- 20:54Speaker 5: dot com slash foul for up to forty seven percent
- 20:56Speaker 5: off your order during their biggest sale of the year.
- 20:59Speaker 5: After purchased, I'll ask you where you heard about Ridge.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Tell them foul Territory.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Sent you all right.
- 21:06Speaker 1: One final question here, it's about minor league system. We
- 21:10Speaker 1: know Rachel Folden Rich Strickland are gone from the Orgies
- 21:15Speaker 1: hitting coaches any any cation, the Cubs are looking to
- 21:18Speaker 1: shake things up a bit in regard to their hitting infrastructure.
- 21:22Speaker 1: That's from Greg Huss. Greg, I know, I think those
- 21:26Speaker 1: are just both. I don't think those departures have to
- 21:31Speaker 1: do with the Cubs making massive changes. I do believe
- 21:34Speaker 1: they're pretty happy with their hitting infrastructure. That's you know,
- 21:40Speaker 1: kind of led by Justin Stone.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I believe.
- 21:45Speaker 1: My understanding is the new Triple A hitting coach is
- 21:49Speaker 1: Damon Minor, who was an MLB coach for the Giants
- 21:54Speaker 1: last year. That is their fourth MLB like their fourth coach,
- 22:01Speaker 1: like hitting coach in the system that has MLB experience,
- 22:06Speaker 1: Andy Haynes. So Damon Minor, Andy Haynes, who was with
- 22:11Speaker 1: the Cubs for a long time and has comeback after
- 22:14Speaker 1: a few.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Years on MLB staffs.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Drew Headman who was with the Diamondbacks. I believe he
- 22:22Speaker 1: was an assistant hitting coach there. And then it is
- 22:24Speaker 1: a Guillermo Martinez who was with the Blue Jays. I
- 22:27Speaker 1: believe he was either lead hitting coach with the Blue
- 22:30Speaker 1: Jays or an assistant hitting coach with the Blue Jays.
- 22:33Speaker 1: And all four of them are or now it coaches
- 22:38Speaker 1: of some sort in helping the minor leagues.
- 22:41Speaker 2: They're they're you know, I do.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Believe they need to make some changes with the maybe
- 22:46Speaker 1: not changes, adjustments, that is that a softer word. When
- 22:51Speaker 1: it comes to pitching. We talked about this a couple
- 22:54Speaker 1: episodes ago, but they're just not producing enough pitching in
- 22:58Speaker 1: the minor league system. And I think you could make
- 23:01Speaker 1: the argument that there's not a ton of hitting coming out,
- 23:04Speaker 1: but I do believe it's it's better than the production
- 23:08Speaker 1: they're getting from the pitching.
- 23:11Speaker 4: One quick correction here, it is Rick strictly, But yeah,
- 23:20Speaker 4: I think I just wanted to say thank you to
- 23:23Speaker 4: Greg and all our other SICKOS listeners, readers over at
