- 0:00A full weekend slate of Week 2 action,
- 0:03which was both batshit and predictable.
- 0:06LSU goes ahead and embarrasses the living shit out of themselves
- 0:10and more importantly, Lane Kiffin. And we recap the Regulars at
- 0:14the Rose Bowl, which was a fucking drunken mess.
- 0:18We have proof of it and everything. We are not robbing the people of
- 0:22all the evidence. So stay tuned. We got a big show for you
- 0:25guys. We are the Regulars.
- 0:34I'm excited for you. I saw you wearing your Raiders jersey.
- 0:37Sebastian Janikowski, baby. Oh, was that what it was? It was a Janikowski jersey.
- 0:40I was between 2 jerseys. I figured— no, that was the right one. I don't
- 0:44know what the other one was. Shane Lechler, our punter. Okay, well, no, you always
- 0:48go kicker. You don't go fucking punter. I wanted
- 0:51to be that. You never go full punter. Sometimes you gotta go full punter.
- 0:54You don't have a Chuck Woodson jersey? I don't have a Chuck Woodson jersey.
- 0:58Charles? I don't have a Charles Woods. I know you're watching. Sorry,
- 1:01Chuck. I love you. Trust me. You're a fucking hero.
- 1:04Tim Brown, too. So he's our Venn diagram because I'm Michigan and
- 1:09you're Raiders. So he's our guy right in the middle of that. Him and Mookie
- 1:12Betts. Listen, Mookie Betts is everybody. We've got to have
- 1:16somebody else in common. We— I mean,
- 1:19across of what? There's no question we do. Yeah, but I mean, so far,
- 1:23though, so far, the middle of the Venn diagram— who is the UCLA guy that
- 1:27became like the Boston Red Sox legend? Legend or something. I can't think of one.
- 1:30I don't think there is one. Tori Lavulo. Is he UCLA?
- 1:34Yes, he is. And so, and then that's now Diamondbacks. Oh,
- 1:38Tori's our guy. That's number one. There it is. Got a new guy.
- 1:41All right. Glad you guys were there for that moment. Not sure any of you
- 1:45guys need to be a part of that. Lo siento. We are
- 1:49actually going to talk about sports on today's show, and we should probably actually get
- 1:52to the football because there's a shit ton of it to talk about, Cody.
- 1:56So let's Get to it, guys. We're going to be covering as many of these,
- 2:00as many of these, you know,
- 2:04are we— wait, are we live? Why am I not live? We are live.
- 2:07Well, how come mine wasn't caught up? How about you just get to the thing
- 2:10you're teasing? This is why I told you I can't multitask. I got this.
- 2:14You handle that. NFL Week 2. So many good games.
- 2:18So many good games. And we're kicking things off
- 2:21with the Eagles in a close win over the Titans. This was one
- 2:25of the games of the week in terms of narrative conversation.
- 2:28Did you talk about it on the radio yet? Yes, I did. Okay, so you've
- 2:31got your— you've got your thoughts in order. Jalen Hurts delivered another signature clutch moment,
- 2:34something he's been— he's come to be known for, at least if people
- 2:39are being honest. You know, those of you that are paying attention, this is what
- 2:43he's known for. So they were not their best against Tennessee.
- 2:46No, Hurts did throw 2 picks, but 2 picks
- 2:50don't matter when you have a game-winning drive of this caliber.
- 2:53I have these stats memorized at this point. Minute 56,
- 2:57no timeouts, 6 of 8 for 61 yards,
- 3:00a touchdown, a 4-yard rush as well. This guy was
- 3:04lights out. Yeah, 130-something, you know, passer rating on that drive. And for
- 3:08the record, I'm aware he was lights out because he was my fantasy quarterback and
- 3:11he gave me— hell yeah, lots of points. Thank you for that. Yes, you did.
- 3:14So it was looking hairy for a second there. It was there. But, but at
- 3:17the end, that comeback at the end, that final touchdown was huge. So that was,
- 3:20that was the big thing was, you know, this was a team that they should
- 3:24not be losing to. They were losing to them. It looked like they were going
- 3:27to lose the game. And here comes Jalen Hurts. Now,
- 3:30I don't think anybody's going to be super shocked about how we feel about the
- 3:33fact that Jalen Hurts was that exceptional. But I— what I do want to talk
- 3:37about is the underrated performance of the
- 3:41receivers on that final drive, because every single, every single
- 3:45throw had to be a sideline throw. To get out of bounds, right? So the
- 3:49defense knows what's coming. These are going to be sideline throws. They're trying to get
- 3:51out of bounds. They have no timeouts. Every wide
- 3:55receiver stepped up, like every single one of these dudes stepped up. Saquon was blocking.
- 3:59Everybody's where they needed to be after a pretty messy game. Yeah,
- 4:03that's, that's fucking— that's, that's Jalen Hurts. That's Jalen Hurts. That's Jalen Hurts
- 4:07running the offense. More importantly, you see him after the game because he heard the
- 4:11things that were said about him and he just Stone fucking cold, man. I heard
- 4:15it. Did it make you feel something? I heard it. He heard it.
- 4:18Fucking ice in that man's veins. I, I can't get enough of
- 4:22the guy. I don't care if he doesn't— I don't care if he's not the
- 4:24sexiest thrower of the football of all time. I don't care if he's not what
- 4:28your beautiful vision of a quarterback is in your brain.
- 4:32This motherfucker wins. I, I fucking love
- 4:35him. It's so interesting too because it's like, are you guys having fun?
- 4:38And we're gonna get to it, but like Is it fun to watch Justin Herbert
- 4:42these days? Like, it's like, yeah, the dude can— like,
- 4:45visually, is that better for you to watch that? Because it's not for me.
- 4:48Like, right? It's not for— it's not fun to watch like an
- 4:52objectively better thrower of the ball suck at doing
- 4:56it. I don't fucking know. Mama Hurts reposted Tanya's TikTok. Philly loves
- 5:00you, Tanya. Oh yes, so I'm friends with Pamela Hurts on TikTok.
- 5:04She and I are mutuals. We've messaged each other. That's awesome. Um,
- 5:07and for about a couple months, I just
- 5:12thought she was my friend Pamela. Deadass had no fucking idea
- 5:16that she was Jalen Hurts' mom. Whoops. But also awesome, right?
- 5:20Because I was just like, I love Pamela. Like, that's my girl, whatever. Didn't occur
- 5:23to me that I'm like, she's verified. It's her last name's Hurts. She literally looks
- 5:27like Jalen Hurts. She's like gorgeous. And I was like, what? What is Tanya?
- 5:31She probably runs a Fortune 500 company based on all the women that he surrounds
- 5:35himself with. She is incredible. Like, well, that's the thing is like, she is.
- 5:37I was just— I just thought she was like a really cool, smart TikTok woman.
- 5:40Yeah, it just turns out she's— and then after a while I was like,
- 5:42hold on a second. Um, so yeah,
- 5:46uh, friends with Pamela, we love her. And, uh,
- 5:49anything else you have and your takeaway from the Eagles-Titans game?
- 5:53No, it's, you know, at the end of the day, was it the prettiest game?
- 5:56No, but they got the win. Worried about that offensive line a little bit,
- 5:59but, oh, very. But I'm also worried about a few other offensive lines. I'm not
- 6:02gonna go with the manic panic all with everybody right now at week 2 because
- 6:05there— I think there are teams to panic about in week 2 right now.
- 6:08No, no. And right now the Eagles are just not even scratching the suit.
- 6:12No, they don't need to be panicked. I will say the issue with the turf—
- 6:15did you know about this? No, I don't. The Titans-Eagles game, talk to me.
- 6:19The, the field was like 150 degrees. Oh yeah, and they were,
- 6:22they were having to pour like cold water on their cleats to stop
- 6:26them from melting. Dude, I hate that. Nick Sirianni was getting fucking like an
- 6:30IV on the sideline, like a hydrate. It was bad. It's gross there,
- 6:34dude. But also, they need grass. What the fuck are we doing?
- 6:38The fact that turf is still in, in the game is insane to me.
- 6:41Like, if you want to know just how weak that Players Association is,
- 6:45look at the turf. That's it. There's no other answer. Easy to— like,
- 6:48it's— we just learned— are just— dude, we— if we didn't just
- 6:52learn in the World Cup that it's very fucking easy to do, I hope that
- 6:55that NFLPA— now again, I don't fully blame the players because
- 6:59they've been undermined by the head, by the head of their PA for the last,
- 7:02like, since DeMaurice Smith left. But still. All right.
- 7:07Let's talk about the Chiefs outmaneuvering the Colts in overtime. And they did. And by
- 7:10the way, the Colts— I was really happy with how the Colts kind of bounced
- 7:13back from game 1. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, they were competitive, they looked great,
- 7:17they stayed in the game. And, um, Patrick Mahomes across
- 7:21the course of that game became more and more Mahomes. His connection with Kelce came
- 7:25through a couple of times. He finished the game with, uh,
- 7:2832 of 47 for 382 yards, 3 touchdowns. Obviously that includes 2,
- 7:32uh, overtime possessions. You just read a comment you like? I did,
- 7:35but it's not about this topic. I'm gonna save it for the regulars at the
- 7:39Rose Bowl. Um, he repeatedly made difficult throws outside
- 7:42structure and connected with Kelce and Xavier Worthy on big plays.
- 7:46Uh, Kansas City is now 2-0. The other major news in this is Kenneth,
- 7:50uh, Walker III. Kansas City hasn't always
- 7:53had a consistent, like, star running game. That's, like, been something that's,
- 7:56that's been up and down for them. This has kind of given them a new
- 8:00dynamic. And it's, it's opening things up
- 8:03for Patrick Mahomes in a different way, in a way that like Tyreek
- 8:07Hill used to open things up in a different way. Now it's Kenneth Walker.
- 8:11Let's talk about overtime. Talk to me.
- 8:14In the overtime structure now, no matter what you do, no matter what
- 8:18you score in that first possession, everybody touches the ball. Everybody gets to get their
- 8:22possession. But there is a time, right? So this
- 8:26is a timed overtime. If there's still time on the clock, After the second possession,
- 8:29you're still tied. Guess who gets the ball back? The team that got
- 8:33it the first. So the Colts win the coin toss and
- 8:38they defer, giving Patrick Mahomes and the
- 8:42Chiefs the first possession in overtime.
- 8:45Yes, they do. I would love to know
- 8:50on what planet Shane Steichen was like,
- 8:53just in case, I'd love for Patrick Mahomes to get another possession.
- 8:57If we can't pull off winning the game on ours? I'd love to know what
- 9:01he was thinking, because what happens is in this timed overtime,
- 9:05by the end of it, if you're tied, it's a tie. Yes.
- 9:08So the first possession and then the second possession,
- 9:12if there's going to be a chance for somebody to get the ball back,
- 9:14it's always the team that, that got the first possession in overtime.
- 9:17Very rarely opportunity for a 4th possession. Yes,
- 9:21sometimes there's time left, but But whatever. So fine.
- 9:27Yes. Okay. You make that choice. Yes. Patrick Mahomes, they go down, they score
- 9:32and they score a field goal. Yes. Great. Okay. Colts are
- 9:36ready. They can, they can score the touchdown to win in overtime.
- 9:40They go balls to the wall. They,
- 9:43they unload their weapons right off the top. They take their fucking
- 9:46shot. It somewhat works out
- 9:50because after all is said and done, they say he
- 9:54was down. It's not a fumble, not a turnover. So they've got their ball right
- 9:57in the red zone. And instead of taking the kill shot,
- 10:02they play conservatively, kick a field goal to tie the game and
- 10:06give the ball back to Patrick Mahomes. Cody. Yep.
- 10:10When I tell you every single thing about the way Shane Steichen managed
- 10:14this overtime Fucking drove me nuts.
- 10:18It drove me fucking— I— this entire
- 10:21possession genuinely convinced me this man can't win a Super Bowl. Oh,
- 10:25here's the thing. So I hear everything you're saying and I hear the
- 10:28criticism on both ends. Now, the field goal. Yeah, I fucking with you. I was
- 10:32like, the fuck? We're playing this aggressive and we just fucking tap out
- 10:36now? What are we doing? I really didn't like that. It just— I
- 10:40liked actually— would you hear me out? And I hear what you're saying because I
- 10:43know I'm not necessarily right about this. But the deferring of the ball I
- 10:47didn't entirely hate because it kind of reminds me— it kind of gave me
- 10:50this feeling of like the, um, the college football, uh, overtime.
- 10:53Because now we know what both teams has. I think Shane Steichen was just going
- 10:56in there no matter what. He thought Patrick Mahomes was going
- 11:00to have a scoring drive, and now he just knows what to contest with on
- 11:03his— on their attempt. So instead, all right, we need to get at least a
- 11:06field goal, but we can go for the win. And it looked like they were
- 11:08going for the jugular, and I just kind of liked it. No. You have like
- 11:12objectively false, wrong, because again,
- 11:16this is not— you're not playing the Titans, the Texans. You're not— I know you're
- 11:19playing Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. You will— if you cannot win
- 11:23on that possession that you just— if you don't win,
- 11:27he gets the ball back. You've lost. Yes, it's done.
- 11:31You give Patrick Mahomes back the ball back with 25 seconds left in overtime,
- 11:33you fucking lose. Yes, you have to know that, number one. And if
- 11:38you— and if that's the case, if you want to be aggressive, you— if you
- 11:40want to say Go out, do your, do your worst. We're going to match it
- 11:43or we're going to beat you. You're hoping
- 11:47for a field goal there. That's all you can hope for. Because if,
- 11:51if your goal is to say, I'll match whatever you do,
- 11:55well, if they score a fucking touchdown now, the best you can do is
- 11:58tie it and still give them the ball back. Well,
- 12:01can't you go for a 2-point conversion? You can. Did he seem like a coach
- 12:04that was going to go for a 2-point conversion? That's the part that I'm with
- 12:07you with. No, I wasn't. I wasn't against the deferral in that
- 12:11I, I thought it was more— he was being more aggressive, as if, okay,
- 12:14are you against the deferral now that you know he's a chicken shit
- 12:18who wasn't playing nearly as aggressively as you need to play in order to pull
- 12:20that off? Yes, that's why I was going backwards. I was saying that the,
- 12:23the ending result of what he did with— by going for the kick was fucking
- 12:27insane to me. I'm like, what was the fucking point of all of this then,
- 12:29right? Truly all of this. You take the kill shot on the first possession.
- 12:32That's what I thought they were going for. Okay. So you took the kill shot,
- 12:35you got a— you got away with it, you got the call that you needed.
- 12:37Yep. And you got— and in my opinion, I was actually kind of— look,
- 12:40was it the right call? I thought it was definitely the wrong call. It was
- 12:43the right call. So the only reason I know it's the right call is because
- 12:45I've seen this before, that all you need is someone's finger,
- 12:49the skin of someone's fingertip touching the outside of your jersey in order for
- 12:53it to be— okay, so I guess it was the right call. By the way,
- 12:55I'm normally used to those calls going the opposite direction for the Chiefs, right?
- 12:58So that, that alone made me go like, oh wow, we're in a different And
- 13:01by the way, that likely would have been what happened if, if he had gotten
- 13:04back up and scored a touchdown. They'd have called it back and called him down
- 13:07there too. Right. So like that would have really
- 13:11pissed people off. So it kind of worked out as best as possible because that
- 13:14would have looked like it was home cooking for the Chiefs. Yeah. But at the
- 13:17end of the day, you cannot take that kill shot, get the call,
- 13:20and then play conservatively from there. You just can't. It's pretty funny. Meg just said
- 13:24Shane Steichen demonstrated the strategic vision of a
- 13:29boat lieutenant.
- 13:33Yeah. Nailed it. Fucking nailed it. But no, I've been pissed about that ever.
- 13:37I mean, so I guess I should have said— explained it the other way around.
- 13:40I wasn't against the deferral because I was like, okay. And then I saw how
- 13:43they were going about it. I'm like, they're going aggressive, they're going for it.
- 13:45I was like, you have to be prepared to like— if you do that,
- 13:48you have to be prepared to not only score a touchdown, but, but a 2-point
- 13:51conversion. I thought that was the only plan. That's what I thought the plan was.
- 13:55I thought we were going college football fucking overtime. And that's when— naive fool.
- 13:59What the fuck? It was the point then. That's why I thought he was doing
- 14:02it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I liked that. But yeah, even though I know the
- 14:06numbers say don't do that. Yeah, I still kind of liked the idea. Well,
- 14:09once you go into overtime and you're in Kansas City,
- 14:13if you want to be that aggressive, I will not blame you. I kind of
- 14:17dug it. But yeah, but he didn't do that. He did not. Fuck.
- 14:20And also Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes. Just a reminder to everybody.
- 14:25Well, he reminded everybody. He's still Patrick Mahomes. There's some people still in denial.
- 14:28You and I have not been. So we feel fine because nothing we're seeing is
- 14:32surprising us. No, I was actually just more like bummed about it 2 months ago,
- 14:35and I kind of already went through this emotional roller coaster personally. And then when
- 14:39game 1 happened, it was just like, yeah, great. There it is. You prepared yourself
- 14:42for this reality. Yeah. Another coaching situation
- 14:46that looked really, really bad, especially compared to week 1. Um, was Jesse Minter,
- 14:50the Ravens. Uh, the Ravens blew a 14-3 halftime
- 14:53lead to the Saints. Talk to me, man. So the Saints looked a lot
- 14:57better against Detroit than people gave them credit for. They lost that game in overtime.
- 15:00I was not surprised that the Saints looked as good as they did, especially later
- 15:03in the game. Tyler Shuck is like an older sophomore, like he's about to be
- 15:07like 27, 28 years old. Yeah, but he's having a fucking monster run his first
- 15:102 games. Um, and he, and he also a Louisville guy, so it was 2
- 15:14Louisville quarterbacks up against each other, which I thought was interesting. Um,
- 15:17I thought it was pronounced Louisville. That's— was I not saying that?
- 15:20Didn't I say Louisville? Um,
- 15:24is that right, Mocha? How they like— yeah, Mocha, Mocha,
- 15:28the, the, um, the lifelong LA resident knows how to say Louisville.
- 15:33Louisville. Oh, see? Yeah, fucking— he says it like— he
- 15:37says it like a— he says Louisville. Louisville,
- 15:40Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky.
- 15:43Um, I can get a slugger over there. Here's the thing,
- 15:47uh, it was— things were cooking for the Ravens between,
- 15:52um, you know, between, uh, Lamar and
- 15:56Rashad Bateman, who was in for Zay Flowers. He got all the snaps that Zay
- 15:59Flowers, you know, because he was out. Rashad looked good. He did. Uh, Mark Andrews
- 16:04even caught a pass and moved afterward. I was so impressed.
- 16:07I thought he was a cigar store Indian at this point. So I saw
- 16:10him, but then Oh yeah, one of them he got like 8 yards after the
- 16:14catch and then they called it back and I was like, come on, you made
- 16:16him do all that work. Come on, come on, dude, that's like 40
- 16:20yards for most players. Goddamn. Yeah, that was, that was a—
- 16:24in, in dog yards. Um,
- 16:28but the final possession, they've got no
- 16:32timeouts, not a lot of time left.
- 16:35No, Lamar does the things you got to do in that spot. He throws The
- 16:40deep ball, Rashad Bateman doesn't know. He's either— he's
- 16:44either slow on the route or missed or didn't know where he was supposed to
- 16:47be. I wanted to ask you so much about the final play of the game.
- 16:49Yeah, because I— every time I looked at that play, I'm like, someone had their
- 16:53fucking shit wrong. Yeah. And I highly doubt it was LeBron.
- 16:57Lamar or LeBron. Sorry, LeBron's on my mind because I saw a
- 17:01weird video of him last night at the Rams game.
- 17:04No, but as far as what I could tell, He— Rashad
- 17:08Bateman just wasn't where he was supposed to be. Yeah, it happens. Yes.
- 17:12If it was Zay Flowers, he'd have been there. There's a, you know, this is
- 17:15the stuff that happens. And I don't want to even shit on Bateman. He had
- 17:18a good game, but it looked like Rashad either
- 17:22didn't know he was supposed to be there or had underhustled
- 17:26to the route. I don't fucking know. Either way, ends on a
- 17:30game-ending pick. And I was, you know, disappointed for the Ravens.
- 17:34But, but I also, I'm The Saints are fun,
- 17:39dude. The Saints are a lot better than we thought. And, and that's, you know,
- 17:42I've always said this over and over again, that's the most winnable division in the
- 17:44NFL without question. Especially, especially if you've seen fucking Tampa. Although I will say it
- 17:49looks like the Saints and the Panthers might both be good. Something, man,
- 17:52their offense is no joke. We're gonna be talking about them. I'm looking forward to
- 17:55talking about it. So it's not, um, it's not a gimme. We know who the
- 17:582 worst teams are, but we don't know who the best team is. So it's
- 18:01at least still interesting. Yeah. Um, but I don't have a ton to say.
- 18:04You know, I told somebody on the internet today, they were like, Notice how she
- 18:07hasn't had anything to say about her god Lamar and his game-ending
- 18:11pick. And I, you know, I said on the internet, I was like, I haven't
- 18:14talked— first of all, I haven't gotten on the internet or, or made a video
- 18:17defending him or making excuses like everybody does
- 18:21for Matthew Stafford and Justin Herbert and Josh Allen every time they make a
- 18:25mistake. But I also haven't— I just haven't talked about it. And that's
- 18:30how it's going to be. I will overcorrect. You don't get to have
- 18:33a mass media that is constantly coddling and
- 18:37excuse-making for all these other quarterbacks and then ask me to
- 18:41criticize the most overly criticized multi-time MVP player I have
- 18:45ever seen in my entire life. If you want to see him criticized, you know
- 18:48where to go. Turn on ESPN. Yeah, don't worry, turn on Fox Sports. You don't
- 18:52need to hear from me in a Week 2 game. If we're talking about the
- 18:54playoffs, if Lamar throws that pick in the playoffs,
- 18:57I will fucking talk about it. It's Week 2. If you You really— you need
- 19:01more criticism of Lamar Jackson? Yeah, he doesn't know enough. No, no,
- 19:04I'm good. Like, take that shit elsewhere. So yeah,
- 19:08it's not gonna fucking happen. No question. Um, let's go to injury
- 19:11corner in the middle of this thing because the next 3 games feature,
- 19:15uh, quarterback injuries. Yes. And let's start at the top of the one that
- 19:19is absolutely sweeping the nation, Caleb Williams. And here's the thing,
- 19:22I want to yell, purr around the world. Can I just really quickly just say
- 19:26something before you get really mad at me? Because I know you're gonna get fucking
- 19:28mad at me. I'm glad
- 19:32Caleb is gonna be okay. I'm glad the injury is not nearly as bad as
- 19:35they initially thought. It looked brutal because it was a non-contact
- 19:39thing and a hamstring. Yeah, whenever something's non-contact— and I gotta also say this,
- 19:41it's a hamstring injury. Those fucking suck no matter what the fucking degree is.
- 19:45You don't know how bad they are. You have no goddamn clue. I have no
- 19:49issue whatsoever with how he reacted, and because
- 19:52he thought his season was over Or he was at the very least worried.
- 19:55Yes. Like, I can't stress enough, I had no issue with
- 19:59it at fucking all. The memes
- 20:02are funny. The memes are funny. The memes are funny. They're fucking funny. I have
- 20:05laughed so fucking much and I don't agree with any of
- 20:09them, but they're fucking funny. Some of them are funny.
- 20:12Some of them are like what the ones comparing, comparing the Jackson Dart
- 20:16thing. I'm going to get into that. I'm going to get into that because
- 20:20To be quite honest, I know you don't like it, but I laughed a lot.
- 20:23Well, I don't like— I don't like the insinuation that Jackson Dart
- 20:27is tougher than Caleb Williams. I completely agree. I completely agree.
- 20:30And listen, of course, some of these are funny. The ones with the Pope are
- 20:33funny. Let's be honest. The Chicago Pope making sure that Caleb Williams comes back
- 20:36from the dead. So funny. And so— and so was my— my favorite one
- 20:40was the still frame photo of Caleb in President Trump's pose
- 20:44at the thing. That was— listen, I— he would have been in better shape if
- 20:48he'd been shot in the ear. I'm just saying it was funny. So here's the
- 20:52thing, there's been a ton of criticism of Caleb Williams
- 20:56getting carted off after pulling up with a hamstring injury,
- 21:00um, doing the like wave to the crowd. He was clearly freaking out and
- 21:04clearly upset, and he's gotten clowned not only by fans
- 21:08but by the likes of Emmanuel Acho, dude, who always has something
- 21:11to say about players he couldn't fucking hold their jockstrap. What is it
- 21:15like to go through fucking life on a daily basis with the
- 21:19fucking wrong take on everything? In the, in the
- 21:23ego to say— so he said that you should never— that
- 21:27the cart and the wave and the, you know, check it, you know,
- 21:30checking in with the crowd should only happen if you are— have
- 21:34a season-ending or career-ending injury. Broken legs,
- 21:38apparently. I don't know. Uh, maybe Damar Hamlin, maybe you need to be revived
- 21:42on the fucking field. That's when you get that treatment. Here's the thing.
- 21:46A bunch of doctors have come out and said, first of all, the amount of
- 21:49pain that athletes suppress
- 21:52because of this kind of stuff is enormous.
- 21:56The amount of, the amount of times that you see something happen
- 21:59in an NFL game and those players walk off because they don't
- 22:04want to get this kind of treatment. Their pain tolerance is a crazy thing.
- 22:08There is a correlation between playing in the rain.
- 22:11Everything's going wrong. You're already frustrated. Your adrenaline is
- 22:15high. You're worked up. And then on top of it, you're now in the frustration
- 22:18of having potentially torn your hamstring. Again, you don't
- 22:21know how bad your injury is. You feel your hamstring pull and
- 22:25you're in that headspace. You're already amped up. Caleb Williams,
- 22:30he does not have toxic masculinity. When are people going
- 22:33to understand he doesn't fucking care? He will cry, he will emote, he will paint
- 22:37his nails, he will wear a man purse. He does not have
- 22:41the toxic masculinity bullshit that the rest of you seem to feel like he needs
- 22:44to adhere to. And I don't know when you're gonna get,
- 22:48he was upset, he allowed his emotions to come out.
- 22:52By the way, once you're on the cart, you have to wave to the crowd.
- 22:55You can't stay under there freaking them the fuck out. You wave to
- 22:59the crowd. Once you're on the cart, you gotta fucking, what is he supposed to
- 23:02do there? And I would like to make one more thing clear. Athletes don't put
- 23:06themselves on carts. The trainer, the head trainer
- 23:10and their staff decide if you get on a cart or not.
- 23:14When somebody— when you see somebody like Jaxson Dart walk off
- 23:17the field with a torn MCL, that is
- 23:21because they asked the trainer, requested not to be
- 23:24on a cart because they don't want to upset their family, the crowd,
- 23:28for ego reasons, for whatever other reason. And sometimes
- 23:32trainers will give in to that. They'll allow that.
- 23:36But the reality is there is never a time where an athlete puts
- 23:40themselves on a fucking cart.
- 23:43So the most trainers want you on it. When you don't see a
- 23:47player, when they've got torn ligaments and lower body injuries and you don't see them
- 23:51on a cart, it's because they ask not to be. And it's usually
- 23:54the wrong call. But like they do it because these athletes
- 23:59have so much to lose from this level of criticism and from
- 24:03like all these, for all these other reasons. So Caleb
- 24:08is just fucking better than you. Like he's just, he just doesn't care.
- 24:11He doesn't care to be upset. He doesn't care that he's like freaking out because
- 24:16he's gonna wake up tomorrow, be 6'3,
- 24:20a gajillionaire, hot as fuck. And great at football.
- 24:24And you're going to be a loser talking about it with
- 24:28your 3-year shit fuck NFL career about how
- 24:31he should only get to do that if he broke his leg. So that's why,
- 24:35that's why I'm like, we're glorifying dudes pretending
- 24:39they're not hurt in football? Do you, have you met a guy in his 50s
- 24:43who'd played football? Because I've worked with a bunch of them. They can barely fucking
- 24:45walk. Like, it pisses me off. It really pisses me
- 24:49off. And it doesn't mean that I don't think that memes are funny because that's—
- 24:51it really is jokey. The memes are a joke and they're funny, but I don't
- 24:54agree with this shit. How many dudes do you want to see limping around
- 24:58grabbing their necks who can't sit straight before you think it might
- 25:02be a good idea for people to act more like Caleb Williams and less like
- 25:06Jaxson Dart? So here's the deal. Like I always tell people and I always try
- 25:09to get like— I give a lot of criticism to a lot of athletes.
- 25:12Yeah, but I do like to always preface something just right out
- 25:16the gate. Right out the gate. So fans and people in the media, like,
- 25:19understand this: I think everyone that is in any
- 25:23major sport, anyone from the very worst guy,
- 25:27the very worst stats-wise and talent-wise,
- 25:30everyone that has ever played a professional sport is astonishing.
- 25:34Like, a true one-of-one astonishing specimen
- 25:39of a human being doing something that no one in the world can do.
- 25:42When we get to that echelon, then we start criticizing and nitpicking throughout the entire
- 25:46thing. To question someone's,
- 25:49like, toughness as they're running in the rain,
- 25:54hurting their hamstring to a degree that they're unaware of— I
- 25:58don't know what— like, is your fucking brain broken?
- 26:02Like, if— and the thing is, this is what bothers me about, like, a guy
- 26:05like Ocho. Like, you did play. I don't care what— how good
- 26:09or bad your fucking career was. You're— and you're a lot better at this than
- 26:11I am. No, but like, like, but like, I know you were respect these
- 26:15professionals. I respect what they did. I respect all of them. But like,
- 26:19you fucking played. You know how much this fucking shit hurts?
- 26:22That's why it's so— like, I'm actually— that's why I'm fucking annoyed.
- 26:25Like, this all hurts. I— like, I was a nobody
- 26:28ballplayer. I'm in more physical pain right now than
- 26:32I've ever been in my life. I didn't make a shit ton of money,
- 26:35and my career was middling. It was fine. I got to the big leagues,
- 26:39but like, my fucking body is is fucking broken.
- 26:42I'm in the gym all the time doing corrective work. I'm going to
- 26:46be doing this till I'm fucking dead. Like, I respect anyone that
- 26:49goes out on the goddamn gridiron in fucking Chicago and fucking
- 26:54tears their hamstring. By the way, taking, taking an
- 26:58absolute beating from Brian Flores deciding he's going— his whole defensive
- 27:03approach was we are going to— they blitzed 81% of
- 27:07the fucking snaps. No one does that. Brian Flores had a game
- 27:11plan and it was do not let up on Caleb Williams. He was getting
- 27:15his ass fucking handed to him. And by the way, we're in the 3rd year.
- 27:18This is the first time we've ever seen Caleb do something like this. And he's
- 27:20been one of the most under pressure, most sacked quarterbacks, most pressured quarterbacks
- 27:25in the NFL since he entered it. So Brian
- 27:29Flores is up his ass, has a defensive— absolutely maniacal defensive
- 27:33game plan, by the way, in the fucking elements, which, by the way, I don't
- 27:37know if anyone was watching anybody's offensive approach. There was fucking nothing anyone
- 27:40could do. There was nothing anybody could do. And it was going to all happen
- 27:43on the ground. And if it was up, if it was going to happen,
- 27:45it was up to Caleb. And there he is trying to make it fucking happen.
- 27:47And he feels something pull up. So I think we've made our point
- 27:51clear on that. I do want to touch on the Vikings for a second.
- 27:54This team under Brian Flores defensively has been excellent.
- 27:57Yes. And what his game plan for this weather— this was— I
- 28:01hate to do this. I hate to do it, but you know I have to.
- 28:04This is where you remember who Brian Flores came up under.
- 28:08This was Bill Belichick 2.0. This was the weather
- 28:12sucks and I know what kind of quarterback we're playing. We cannot
- 28:17let him run. We cannot let him get going on the ground. They're not going
- 28:20to be able to throw the ball accurately in this weather. And God, he's a
- 28:22fucking genius. He's such a mastermind and he's a better— he's
- 28:26a better modern schemer than— I mean, Belichick, like, listen, all the credit in
- 28:30the world, but Brian Flores has taken it to the next level for these offenses
- 28:33over the last 5 years and like, The— it just— the Vikings
- 28:38are winning right now because of that defense, the personnel that, that they, you know,
- 28:41on the, on the field, but also what Brian Flores has got them doing.
- 28:45And I'm really, really impressed, especially with the fact that they've dealt with a carousel
- 28:49of quarterbacks. No, it's really been impressive. And Kyler Murray is coming back, which I'm
- 28:52really excited about. And I think he's gonna be great, like we fucking said.
- 28:55And when that happens, who fucking said it first?
- 28:58Fucking bitches over here. Um,
- 29:02somebody who did not fare well as well,
- 29:05um, Caleb Williams is week to week. They think he could play week 3,
- 29:08but if not, it's gonna end up probably being Case Keenum, I guess. Yeah,
- 29:11because I guess Tyson— what is his name— Badgint is, uh,
- 29:15is also hurt. He is? I didn't know that. So we might be rolling with
- 29:18Case, 38-year-old Case Keenum. So shout out for the older millennials.
- 29:24But Jackson Dart might be out for the season. That's something that came out today.
- 29:27Yeah, that's fucking— the injury is looking potentially worse than they originally thought. I was
- 29:32surprised that it wasn't that bad at first. Me too. Because it looks so bad
- 29:35on the camera. The way it happened, the way— and especially when they did that
- 29:38back view of where his knee went.
- 29:41And here's the thing, like, I've had that almost exact injury and
- 29:45I got off lucky. Like, real lucky.
- 29:49What I ended up doing was sprain— now I sprained my knee. And that sprain,
- 29:53because here's the thing about sprains, especially if a joint is important and impactful
- 29:56as a knee, Um, it's anywhere between a month
- 29:59to 4 months. It just— it's a combination of a lot of fluid in there.
- 30:03And I don't think it's a sprain anymore. It's not. Now they're talking
- 30:07about a potential tear and a season-ending surgery.
- 30:10Um, and, and I also understand this, those of you like, well, he walked
- 30:14off yesterday. When I did that to my knee, I ran that
- 30:18night, felt nothing. It was the next morning that I actually
- 30:22had to be driven to the hospital. Well, and also it's a different protocol in
- 30:26baseball. So in the NFL, he walked off because they— he asked to.
- 30:29Yes. Because he's a dumb fuck. Yes. Who didn't want to look like
- 30:33a— like not a tough guy. Just didn't want to look like a pussy.
- 30:36I want you to think about who we're talking about. We're talking about one of
- 30:37the more emotionally mature players in the league, somebody who's open and honest about their
- 30:41emotions. And we're talking about a guy who introduced Donald Trump in the offseason and
- 30:44who acts like a fucking moron. That is not to say that I do not
- 30:47feel awful that he got hurt. I don't like when players get hurt. I don't
- 30:51like to see it. And the, the team is clearly far worse off without him.
- 30:55Oh Jesus. Yeah, we, we don't worry. I watched the rest of that game.
- 30:58I would have been shocked if Jackson Dart finished this season healthy. He doesn't take
- 31:01this fucking shit seriously. This one was not his fault, but I wasn't anticipating him
- 31:05making it through the season healthy because he does not protect his body even when
- 31:08he's running. I don't think Cam Scadaboo is going to make it either within the
- 31:12next couple of weeks. I can't believe he didn't get hurt last night. He is
- 31:14reckless out there. Yeah, he's reckless. He ended up running for like, I think he
- 31:17had like 15 carries. He ran for like 32 yards. He was ungodly frustrated
- 31:21because he kept running into fucking brick walls. Yeah, he did nothing and he's going
- 31:25to get himself hurt the way he fucking plays. Holy shit. Yeah. So,
- 31:28I mean, yeah, I feel the people I feel bad for are Giants
- 31:32fans. You know, Jaxon Dart has made his bed.
- 31:36He's been a— he's been kind of a dumb fuck. He's been kind of
- 31:40a dang hurt— I don't know. Again, I want to— if anything, if he was
- 31:44going to fail, I would have liked him to be on the field. And what
- 31:45I'm talking about is this. Like, I don't ever root for somebody to get hurt.
- 31:49I don't. Whatever. Like, now that he's hurt, am I going to pray at his
- 31:53bedside? No. Like, I don't know if you're going to put it on
- 31:57record that you're MAGA. I'm going to remind you that there's people out there who
- 32:00can't get cancer treatment because of how you fucking vote. So good luck with your
- 32:04ACL, MCL fucking surgery. That's fine. I mean, I don't want bad things to
- 32:08happen to people, but I'm also going to spend more of my time feeling worse
- 32:11for other people. Oh, no, I got other people I care about. Yeah, exactly.
- 32:13Like, a lot more. Yeah, like even the other quarterback that got hurt, Jayden Daniels,
- 32:17um, dude, sort of a hot mess. Fuck me, this guy.
- 32:21He dislocated his elbow last year. Same elbow,
- 32:24same elbow. It's happened again. Here's what I
- 32:28don't know if our people in the chat noticed this. Did you notice this?
- 32:31He goes down, training staff comes out.
- 32:34Not a single one of his teammates. They just
- 32:38turned their back and walked away. Everyone on the field turned their back and walked
- 32:42away. He's down on the ground. Their starting quarterback is down on the ground.
- 32:46That's not good. And I have been trying so hard
- 32:50to be pro-Jaden Daniels in terms of like, um, like I really was impressed with
- 32:54him his rookie year. I was impressed with what I was reading about his work
- 32:57ethic and how he was working with Cliff Kingsbury on that team. Um, I was
- 33:00impressed with a lot of things. Then the things started coming out, which like
- 33:04the weird things about him a little bit, right? What do you mean? In their
- 33:07whole thing, isn't he like kind of like a weird, like Well, like, I had
- 33:10known that he had the Arizona State stuff because obviously
- 33:14I knew about that. Then he goes and balls out in LSU. Didn't say he
- 33:18doesn't ball. You know, he's got a weird thing with his mom. Like, his mom
- 33:21has a weird thing with him, I think. Which again, like, I don't fucking care.
- 33:24I don't care. Internet drama. And I get it. But like, I don't necessarily
- 33:28ever like buy too much into it. But, you know, smoke, fire, the whole deal.
- 33:32True. And right. But seeing his teammates react like that makes you go
- 33:35like, uh-oh. So you put all those little things together, right? Individually it's whatever,
- 33:39but when it keeps being something else— so I'm bummed for him. Like, I genuinely
- 33:43think a healthy, locked-in Jayden Daniels is really good, but like,
- 33:48sometimes there's like just— I,
- 33:51I don't know, like, how many times can you dislocate the same elbow and play
- 33:55football? I mean, this is bad. Twice within 12 months. And here's the thing about
- 33:59it, the Commanders look like shit, by the way. By the way, that's the other
- 34:02thing about dislocations. Once it happens once, it happens. Yeah, it could happen a lot.
- 34:04And yeah, it's a fucking problem. I got nothing else to say. Yeah, it's a
- 34:08fucking problem. Commanders are in disarray right now. By the way, watching Chase
- 34:11Young on the Saints light the fuck out of Lamar
- 34:14Jackson, and I'm like, I still cannot believe Washington
- 34:19let him go. I don't understand. No idea. I don't— I still don't get that
- 34:21one. No idea. But, you know, I guess like
- 34:27that The Commanders are just kind of a lost cause at this point. What else
- 34:31is this point? Absolutely. And that is just such a Commanders thing. Yeah,
- 34:35well, you know, the curse carries on apparently. It does.
- 34:37Um, let's talk. Doing it? Are we doing it? Are we finally
- 34:41doing it? Are you finally letting me have my moment? Let's talk about the Raiders
- 34:45beating the Chargers. Let's fucking go! Let's fucking go! I know you guys are
- 34:49gonna say it's not gonna last, Cody. What are you doing celebrating? You don't
- 34:53think I fucking know that? Let me enjoy my fucking 2 weeks
- 34:57of just loveliness. A fucking home game in LA
- 35:01with me in LA. The black hole was at SoFi. I'm not saying
- 35:05this to be a Charger hater. I am one, but that's not why
- 35:08I'm saying this. Fuck the Chargers. I just couldn't believe this was real.
- 35:13The Raiders look good. The Chargers look like fucking dog
- 35:17shit. And, um, Justin Herbert is so pedestrian
- 35:22I don't know what to say. And I want to really ask you a
- 35:26question. Yeah. Did you see your boy Dan Orlovsky defending it?
- 35:29Of course I did. This man— what will this man do before
- 35:33he criticizes Justin Herbert? I firmly believe this. I firmly believe
- 35:38he would become a trans person before he ever criticized this man. I firmly believe
- 35:42it. Or just be like— just be like, okay with a trans person being
- 35:45in sports. 100%. He will. He will. He will wear like shirts.
- 35:49He will support— I'm telling you, this guy, there's nothing that
- 35:53can be done for him to criticize Justin Herbert, because if he can't criticize him
- 35:57after that game— yeah, this guy has 2 touchdowns on the season,
- 36:003 interceptions, and 3 fumbles. The only one defending him,
- 36:03by the way, saying it wasn't his fault, you know who else said it?
- 36:05Who? Colin Cowherd. Fuck, he needs you back so bad.
- 36:09It's done. He needs you back. He's cooked. He needs you back. Wouldn't go back
- 36:13if he asked. He's cooked. It's bad news bears, man.
- 36:16Here's the thing about the Chargers, and here's
- 36:20where I am going to step outside
- 36:24of my personal feelings, and I'm going to defend Justin Herbert
- 36:28a little bit. Okay. I'm here. I'm listening. I think
- 36:32that this offense is trash. It is not
- 36:35the players, the offense, the system, the scheme.
- 36:39And it is very noticeable. I don't— I do.
- 36:44Deep dove— Jesus Christ, I deep dove into
- 36:48kind of what's been going on since Jim Harbaugh got there.
- 36:53And, uh, he continues to try to do this sort of adapted
- 36:58pre-snap motion Kyle Shanahan, like pulling
- 37:02a little bit of Kyle Shanahan in there with the pre-snap motion and the,
- 37:05and the blocking schemes. But he's Jim Harbaugh, not Kyle
- 37:09Shanahan. And I'm— and so I imagine he's bringing some of that from Mike McDaniels,
- 37:12is what Mike McDaniels is bringing. But again, Mike McDaniels isn't Kyle Shanahan.
- 37:16People who try to run Kyle Shanahan concepts but don't have Kyle
- 37:21Shanahan's brain don't always— it's not always great.
- 37:24And Justin Herbert is not a Kyle Shanahan-type quarterback.
- 37:29It's all gone to hell, and Justin Herbert has regressed significantly.
- 37:34Since Jim Harbaugh's gotten there.
- 37:38I think his first year with Jim Harbaugh, because this is his third year,
- 37:40right, with Jim? I believe this is third year. No, I think it's his second
- 37:43year, isn't it? I don't fucking know. God, time is a flat circle.
- 37:46Since Jim Harbaugh's gotten there, like 82
- 37:50years, he's not been like— so he was kind
- 37:54of peaking statistically. Things weren't going well in the playoffs or whatever, but like,
- 37:57if you really want to give him credit for what he was good at It's,
- 38:00it's getting worse under Jim Harbaugh. I believe that they
- 38:04are 2 dumb bitches telling each other exactly. They are 2 idiots
- 38:09who are feeding each other's worst instincts. And when
- 38:13you have a quarterback like Justin Herbert and you have a head coach like Jim
- 38:17Harbaugh, one needs to— one of them needs to be the fucking
- 38:20straight man. One of them needs to be the serious guy. You can have 2
- 38:24serious dudes. You can have Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Right? But you can't
- 38:28have 2 dingbats, and these 2 are just fucking over there
- 38:32being like, bro, bro, you're the best. No, you're the best. And then they're going
- 38:35out there and fucking, fucking around. And then, by the way, the other guy
- 38:39on the offense is Mike, old vape on the sidelines McDaniels.
- 38:42Sure is. So like, it's just an unserious situation.
- 38:46And to some extent, I'm not— I mean, I'm not gonna blame the quarterback before
- 38:49I blame the head coach. Like, yes, I do blame the
- 38:53quarterback, and I do, and And I also like don't— I'm not impressed. I don't,
- 38:56I don't think he's a top 10 quarterback. I don't think so. I never thought
- 38:58that. I never thought that. So, you know, whatever. But that's again, he's not ranking
- 39:02himself. No, he's not. Oh boy. No, it's, it's, it's, it's your guy Dan Orlovsky
- 39:06that's doing that. And everybody else, by the way, the GMs all the time.
- 39:09Oh, they love him. They fucking love him. But like, why don't they trade for
- 39:12him? Hey, GMs, trade for him. I have noticed that. I have noticed that no
- 39:15one's really been throwing the gauntlet over to get their hands on Justin Herbert.
- 39:19Yeah. Like, I mean, listen, he's not up for trade. Trade. But still, we do
- 39:22have a graphic, right? Does it prove— yes, I would like to. Yeah, let's,
- 39:24let's throw this graphic up here about the Chargers and where they're at right now.
- 39:29All right, so we got the Chargers. They are, uh,
- 39:32they are the one of the first team— one of the only teams in NFL
- 39:35history to go, uh, 0-2 against teams
- 39:39that had previously only won 3 games. Yes.
- 39:44And you know, they, they Both the Arizona
- 39:47Cardinals and Las Vegas went 3-14 last season.
- 39:51And yeah, they are. I know, I was there. Listen, the Cincinnati
- 39:55Reds did it. The Cincinnati Football Reds did it in like, what was it,
- 39:58like the 1920s or something? Didn't— so then like also the like—
- 40:02give me a second, I'm trying to remember. I do remember what city. The Racine
- 40:05Tornadoes was the other team. That's not on that graphic. I think that
- 40:09there was like a part of that. The one you saw was like
- 40:13an even more niche statistic. But I saw the same one. I couldn't get over
- 40:16the fact that it said Racine because of course those For those of you that
- 40:18don't know, Racine is the villains of the fantastic baseball movie,
- 40:22uh, directed by Penny Marshall, the one and only A League of Their Own.
- 40:25The Racine Bells. That's why I'm a huge fan of the Racine Tornadoes.
- 40:29I was wondering if you'd played in Racine because I was like, I've never played
- 40:33in so many weird places. I think it's in Wisconsin, right? Okay, I don't fucking
- 40:36know. Oh God, I would if I were to know that. I think it's in
- 40:39Wisconsin, but really don't quote me. I don't fucking know. But yeah, man, the Chargers
- 40:43are in a rough spot on the the flip side, I like what I'm seeing
- 40:47from the Raiders. I like this. Listen, I know this honeymoon's going to come to
- 40:50an end, but they got the Saints this weekend over there in New Orleans.
- 40:52It's going to be a hard-fought game. Uh, I— the rate— if the Raiders get
- 40:56that, it's 3-0. But here's the thing, the Raiders got a tough gauntlet going forward.
- 41:00I'm expecting— I've been joking, the race for 6. I, I think this team can
- 41:04get 7 wins, like legitimately. There's no reason to think that they can't accumulate,
- 41:07you know, 4 to 5 more wins this season after what we've seen. And no
- 41:11question, you know, um, if they can— by the way, if they can do it
- 41:14without Brock Bowers, by the way, no Bowers, and if they can sit,
- 41:18if they have the patience to keep Fernando Mendoza on that bench behind
- 41:22Kirk Cousins for the whole season, if they have the patience to do that,
- 41:24great. Like, think about 3 of the best quarterbacks
- 41:28you've seen in your lifetime: Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes. They— none of
- 41:31them played a single fucking game in their, in their rookie year. I know,
- 41:35right? That is— they had pretty impressive quarterbacks in front of
- 41:38them, of course. But Kirk Cousins is one of the best, is one of the
- 41:42best passers of his era. Dude, look at his numbers. Look at the numbers of
- 41:44the first 2 games. I am not a Kirk Cousins fan, but Kirk Cousins is
- 41:48absolutely as good, if not better, than Alex Smith.
- 41:51I would agree with that. Who was a great mentor and an excellent quarterback and
- 41:56an excellent person to sit behind. I believe that Kirk Cousins is a perfect leader
- 42:00for Fernando. I need to go find the video when I first said it.
- 42:02It's funny because you know what, now that I say that, these quarterbacks
- 42:06are almost the— like, what the 3 quarterbacks I just talked about are all little
- 42:09avatars of each other. Tom Brady behind Drew Brees,
- 42:13Aaron Rodgers behind who he would eventually become, Brett Favre, and Patrick Mahomes
- 42:18behind Alex Smith. Like Drew Bledsoe. Bledsoe, not Brees. Did I say Brees? Yeah,
- 42:21it's easy. Their names are always intertwined. Oh, fuck Drew Brees.
- 42:25I got you. Let's go. Yeah, the better Drew. We might have a new end
- 42:28of our show. Well, former pitchers might be getting the
- 42:33day off. I think Curt Schilling is going to die soon, so we are going
- 42:36to have to pick someone new recently because it's not— we can't keep doing that
- 42:40shit if he's dead. It's not as fun. Fun. He didn't look good. So we're
- 42:42gonna have to pick someone else, and it could be Drew Brees. Drew Brees,
- 42:44you're on the list, baby. You're number one with a bullet right behind
- 42:48Kurt Schilling. Uh, anyways, the point being, um, that,
- 42:51you know, I would love to see that. And I, and I'm really impressed.
- 42:54I'm really like, it's been a minute since it seemed like the coaching was
- 42:58going well there. Who knows? Again, we're fucking 2 games
- 43:02in. Let's see how this guy handles adversity. Let's see how the next, you know,
- 43:05season or 2 goes. But let's, you know, I'm happy for
- 43:09you. I'm happy for Raiders fans. I have no beef with Raider fans. You guys
- 43:11have beef with me. Understood. I don't have fucking beef with you. Well, with my
- 43:15rooting interests. Okay, that's fair. But listen, I just— this is
- 43:19exciting. I haven't been this excited as a Raider fan in so long. And I
- 43:22know what the end deal is. I want growth.
- 43:25And you know what's funny? I've already gotten it. I've already gotten what I goals
- 43:29for this team are. If you could see your team in the playoffs in the
- 43:32next 3 years, If I would, based on this, I don't
- 43:37think it's out of the realm that next year isn't realistic.
- 43:41Yeah. I mean, it's not, it's not out of the realm. It's not,
- 43:44especially as this season continues. Who knows? Mendoza is a
- 43:48rookie and has all of this experience, whatever. We've seen
- 43:52plenty of those happen. Yeah. Just remember, this team did make the playoffs last time
- 43:55in 2021. This team right now looks better than the 2021 team,
- 43:59though. They should have beaten the Bengals in that first game.
- 44:02They barely lost to the Bengals due to a field goal kick at the final
- 44:07seconds of the game. They nearly knocked out the Bengals, who went to the Super
- 44:10Bowl. Real quick, um, the Chargers'
- 44:14next schedule coming up: Bills,
- 44:17Seahawks, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Texans, Ravens. The only
- 44:21team on that, uh, list that currently looks winnable
- 44:25is the Texans game. And even then,
- 44:29not compared to how bad the Chargers are. That is
- 44:32a fucking disaster gauntlet. It is possible
- 44:36that they could lose all of those games. There is a real possibility, and I'm
- 44:39not saying this to be a Charger hater. There's a real fucking possibility this team
- 44:43goes 0-9. Yeah, I don't think they will, but I do think they're
- 44:47going to go 2-7 at best. And I'm not kidding. And that is a team
- 44:50that a lot of people earmarked to be the AFC champion. Champions this year.
- 44:53So boy oh boy, good luck. There's only been 2
- 44:57teams to make the playoffs— okay, 6 teams I believe to make the playoffs in
- 45:00a good run after starting the season 0-2 this, this way, um, and losing
- 45:03to an in-division, uh, opponent like that. Okay, throw them at me. So,
- 45:07um, I don't know what they are off the top of my head. I'm sorry,
- 45:09you can't tease me like that. I'm just saying I do believe one has
- 45:13won a Super Bowl. I have statistical blue balls now. I'm sorry,
- 45:16I'm doing this with the old brain and someone's been— hey,
- 45:19nothing's in there. Great. Jesus, great.
- 45:23Painful. Real fucking helpful. A lot of people are being mean to me. No,
- 45:25but I feel you. I, I understand the point and I appreciate it. I'm sorry,
- 45:29I shouldn't have expected you to have that off the top of your head.
- 45:31Why would you be so aggressive towards me? Well, you know, we'll talk
- 45:36about it later. Uh, um, real quick, we're gonna breeze through the
- 45:39back end of this because we're going along on this. I'm sure people are enjoying
- 45:42it, but we have a lot to get to. Um, Bryce Young,
- 45:45for me Way too early MVP watch. I— this is a
- 45:50fantastic start to the season, and he looks so
- 45:53much better to start this season. He looks a lot more like the
- 45:57player that ended the season last year, like he's continuing almost like an inverse Drake
- 46:01Maye. Drake Maye got bad in the playoffs and has stayed bad. Bryce Young
- 46:04got great at the end of the season and into the playoffs, and he stayed
- 46:07great. They've scored 71 points through 2 games. He has a 113.3
- 46:12passer rating, and more importantly, he's throwing the ball down the field. Which is huge.
- 46:16Um, he's, he's diversifying who he's throwing to. He's thrown, I think,
- 46:20you know, he's completing passes like 8, 9 receivers. He's, um,
- 46:23getting— he's, he's completing passes on pressures, right? So he's
- 46:26been pressured on over 50% of his dropbacks,
- 46:30still scored a couple touchdowns under pressure. This is all stuff he struggled with last
- 46:34year. That's the growth, that's the improvement, that's what we want to see. I'm so
- 46:37excited to see that. And so along with like the,
- 46:40you know, Josh Allen and Brock Purdy to some extent, who are in these
- 46:43like sort of early, early, early MVP conversations.
- 46:47I'm so happy from what I'm seeing from Brock Purdy. Not a huge fan of
- 46:51their defense. I'm sorry, not Brock Purdy. Bryce Young. I am not a
- 46:54huge fan of the Carolina Panthers defense, but that's neither here nor there.
- 46:58Any thoughts on Bryce Young? He's doing exactly what I thought
- 47:02he would. And do you think he's the cutest patootie? Oh my God, he's so
- 47:05adorable, right? He's like, he's like I just want to
- 47:09like put in my pocket. I think— and you know what, his personality is like
- 47:12that too. Like, you got— oh, he's just like, like a little sweetie pie,
- 47:14but he's fucking good. Like, I'm really glad he's kind of came to it.
- 47:18Here's the thing, that guy went through the fucking wringer early on. Yeah,
- 47:21like in a way that I don't think I've seen another first overall pick go
- 47:25through the wringer. And to see him come out the other side and really have
- 47:28some success is great. I just wonder how long that goodwill
- 47:32is going to kind of last, whether it's— is it going to require the team
- 47:35to keep winning Despite whatever numbers he puts up. I, I just— well, he is
- 47:39a Black quarterback, so exactly, which is why he's gonna really have to be winning.
- 47:42But then again, so does fucking Jalen Hurts. He keeps winning, yet he gets
- 47:46all the criticism in the world. Oh, Lamar Jackson has 2 MVPs,
- 47:49but he's fucking not good, right? Yeah, so he'll have to be, uh, twice as
- 47:52good to have as much credit. You know the drill. Well, that's fucked. Um,
- 47:56the Rams bounce back. Davante Adams has a crazy, crazy fucking game.
- 47:59We know Matthew Stafford's capable of this. I'm not going to spend too much time
- 48:02on Matthew Stafford, but he did hit a milestone. He did.
- 48:06Before we get to that milestone, I do want to point out that Davante Adams
- 48:09had 8 catches for 195 yards. Did you see the one catch for a touchdown?
- 48:13Of course I did. Holy shit. That was— as cool
- 48:16as the pass was, the sidearm pass, the catch was
- 48:20a very difficult catch. Yeah. And he made it look so fucking easy.
- 48:24It was actually maddening. It's crazy how often Matthew Stafford gets bailed
- 48:28out by his wide receivers being absolutely fucking nuts. And I'm not— that's not me
- 48:31being a hater. Like at all, because I respect that Matthew
- 48:35Stafford throws crazy fucking passes that he trusts his receivers
- 48:39to make. I don't— he does sometimes do those— that hospital ball thing that I
- 48:42don't love. Yes, he does. And that's his biggest flaw. I've— he's always done it.
- 48:46He did it when he was young to Calvin Johnson and other, other players.
- 48:49But I will— I also respect it more than being way too conservative
- 48:54and being a little fucking loser about it. There's a happy medium he has never
- 48:57found in his life and he never will. It's a little late for that.
- 49:00But when you have a player like Davante Adams,
- 49:03that's what you get. Yes,
- 49:06he looks fucking awesome. And I'm really, really happy for him because he's a great
- 49:09player. Let's go to the, to the,
- 49:12the Matthew Stafford graphic of his touchdowns.
- 49:16He is now, I think, 6th all time on the
- 49:20NFL history most passing touchdowns list. And good for him. He has just
- 49:25passed Philip Rivers, which makes sense. I feel like Philip Rivers is such a good
- 49:28comp for Matthew Stafford in so many ways. With the exception,
- 49:32like, you got to give Matthew Stafford the credit. He has won an MVP and
- 49:35a Super Bowl where Philip Rivers cannot say either. Sure. But I also, you know,
- 49:40let's be honest, there's a— there's more to that conversation. That is fair. I just
- 49:43want you to take a look here at— can we talk about Tom Brady?
- 49:47Like, I know he played for a long time. Yeah, that's pretty much— but no
- 49:51one's fucking touching that. That's pretty fucking nuts. The only way that we're getting to
- 49:54that is if Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes plays until
- 49:59into their 40s. Yeah. So I guess we'll see what happens. But like,
- 50:02holy fucking shit, man. He's— he's— look at how far behind
- 50:06he is even from Aaron Rodgers. Yeah. You know, like Matthew
- 50:10Stafford's going to have to keep playing for a minute if he wants to catch
- 50:12even Aaron Rodgers. And Aaron Rodgers might even get 2 more touchdowns this season.
- 50:16Yeah, that is— you missed my joke.
- 50:20Oh, no, I didn't. That's a funny joke. It was funny.
- 50:23But I— there are so many better things to make fun of Aaron Rodgers for
- 50:26right now than not being able to throw. Was pretty funny.
- 50:30Him being folded into a chair backwards last week was pretty funny.
- 50:33Iconic. Oh my God, this guy, does he make
- 50:38it through the season? And I'm not even talking about physically. I mean, does he
- 50:41just quit? I don't know. I probably not. But I will say him throwing
- 50:44Mike McCarthy under the bus as soon as they lost— we need to call better
- 50:48plays. No, they No, the best part about
- 50:51it was he was like, I have to take more responsibility on myself. And they
- 50:56said, okay, well, Aaron, what do you like, you know, what do you think you
- 50:58can improve on? He said, I think I can do better at telling the coaches
- 51:01what they're doing wrong.
- 51:07What a fucking tool. I'm sorry,
- 51:10honestly, it was kind of funny. It was funny.
- 51:15This dumb motherfucker never learns. So fucking
- 51:19funny. Oh, it's just— it was really
- 51:22good. Yeah, I hate that I'm laughing because it is funny, but he
- 51:26didn't mean it to be. He's inadvertently the funniest man alive. No,
- 51:29it's really, really good. I can do a better job of telling them
- 51:32what they're doing wrong. It's just a— just chef's
- 51:37fucking kiss. All right, delusion. Um, is that everything?
- 51:41Uh, oh, real quick on the Patriots front, um,
- 51:44Thank God for the Patriots defense. They look great. I text
- 51:48you during the game, and what was the only thing I texted you about that
- 51:50game? Drake Maye. I think Drake Maye sucks. Yeah, um, I'm not
- 51:53there with him yet, but it, it's, um, the decision-making and the
- 51:58processing in these big moments is just— it's just been bad for— from the
- 52:02playoffs until now. He has absolutely regressed,
- 52:05um, physically. Like, he can still do some cool things, but like,
- 52:09I am just not happy. I have not been happy with his performance,
- 52:12um, in any way, shape, or form. And I do think,
- 52:16you know, I can look at the Drake Maye, uh, interception and
- 52:21do the same thing I can with Lamar Jackson's interception at the end of the
- 52:24game. Here's the difference: Lamar Jackson has multiple MVPs
- 52:28and he's an All-Pro and he's one of the greatest players we've ever seen.
- 52:30Drake had one good half a goddamn season and
- 52:34now, like, I'm not— he— you earn the benefit of the doubt from me
- 52:37and he has not earned it yet. So I'm— I understand where you're at and
- 52:40I would not I'm not pleased. He's regressed.
- 52:43He has. And if it weren't for the Patriots defense, they would have been struggling
- 52:47to beat an offense in the Steelers that was, that was
- 52:50quite literally the worst. Like, I mean,
- 52:53it could not have been worse. They did nothing right.
- 52:56Yeah, it was tough. It was definitely tough to see. But, um,
- 53:00Tanya, I want to say this next phrase to you because it's really funny.
- 53:02I've never said it this way. You ready?
- 53:05After 55 minutes, Tanya, headline number 2.
- 53:09That's what the NFL is about. Let's go, baby! Headline number
- 53:132, we're staying in football because you know, you know
- 53:17we were not gonna go this show without talking about the
- 53:22Lane Kiffin revenge party delivered by
- 53:25Ole Miss. Now I—
- 53:30listen, Lane Kiffin had it coming. If anybody's ever
- 53:34had something coming, it was this. There is not a single person alive. I don't
- 53:38even think LSU fans disagree with the fact that Lane Kiffin had it coming.
- 53:40They should have it fucking coming. Never disagree with that. Right.
- 53:44So just real quick, Ole Miss quarterback
- 53:47Trinidad Chambliss, he began his career in Division
- 53:51II football and he was like this star at Ferris State. They won like a
- 53:55national championship in that space. And then he was scouted by, by Lane Kiffin
- 53:59to Ole Miss. He was like Lane Kiffin's guy. He becomes a star at Ole
- 54:02Miss. And so when everything took a sharp turn and,
- 54:06and Lane Kiffin left. And, you know, that all kind of
- 54:10fell apart with his players. Kiffin tried to get him,
- 54:14including Chambliss and his teammate Kawan Lacy, to stay,
- 54:18to choose to leave LSU and come to Ole Miss. And they chose to stay.
- 54:22And that
- 54:25was kind of when things got really awkward. And that's the other way around.
- 54:28Try to get— leave that— leave Ole Miss for LSU. Yes. Okay. Sorry.
- 54:31Did I not say that? The other way around. So try to get
- 54:36them to leave Ole Miss to come. Yeah, come to LSU with him. Um,
- 54:37and when Kiffin got to LSU, he justified the move by repeatedly
- 54:42stating that he left because LSU was just different.
- 54:45Okay, just keep that in mind. I am. Uh,
- 54:49the rift deepened in the 2026 offseason when, uh, Kiffin publicly commented
- 54:54that Ole Miss's ties to Confederate imagery made it difficult to recruit Black
- 54:58players. So Trinidad Chambliss openly fired back in the media calling Kiffin's
- 55:01comments untruthful and defending the Oxford community. Immediately,
- 55:05uh, we see that Trinidad and
- 55:09teammates have not let go of any of this shit.
- 55:12Nope. Uh, he had an absolute fucking banger of a game. His whole team
- 55:17did. And, uh, we got a couple things to show you. So we're gonna— I'm
- 55:21gonna show you, um, real quick just kind of what their vibe
- 55:25was in the game. So if Mocha, if you want to show us the,
- 55:27uh, Lane-Kiffin video. This was
- 55:31the players in-game. That's him reacting to what's going on.
- 55:35And there they are celebrating and pointing at him
- 55:38as the game is basically over. Oh, it's the final. Yep. So that's,
- 55:42that's what they were up to. I can't stress this enough. Nothing gives me more
- 55:46joy than Lane Kiffin in pain. Like, just nothing.
- 55:50The amount of shots of his face, just like— just, it was,
- 55:54it was a gift. It was a gift that kept— I'm sad I wasn't watching
- 55:57enough of it live. But I got to wake up on Sunday morning while incredibly
- 56:01hungover. Don't worry, we'll get to it. And I just— it
- 56:06made— it sobered me up with pure, unadulterated adrenaline
- 56:10and joy to see him just so miserable. I think we found out
- 56:13at UCLA that Lane Kiffin had lost. Yes. But we—
- 56:16I don't think it sunk in just to— no, we were way too distracted.
- 56:19We were too distracted at the time. We were so ADHD and drunk. And you'll
- 56:23see. Don't worry, you'll see. But I, I can't— I gotta say, this was amazing.
- 56:27It was, it was truly amazing stuff to see. Just my
- 56:31favorite Lane Kiffin is the Lane Kiffin that gets fired by Al Davis on
- 56:35national TV. Yeah, my favorite Lane Kiffin is the Lane Kiffin that
- 56:39gets fired on the tarmac at USC. These are my favorite
- 56:43Lane Kiffins. What's your favorite Lane Kiffin? Uh, this is mine. This is
- 56:46my new favorite Lane Kiffin, getting his ass kicked by Ole Miss.
- 56:50By the team he abandoned as they were going into the goddamn playoffs. Pointed at
- 56:54him like at point blank distance. Oh, that team,
- 56:58that team really could have. I really believe if
- 57:02Lane Kiffin and the people he took with him had stayed there and like,
- 57:06if it had been the team and he had stuck it out with them,
- 57:09I really think they could have made the national championship last year. Listen,
- 57:13you heard Ted Cruz. We need to save our college sports.
- 57:17We gotta, we gotta protect because our girls— remember all those times
- 57:21when the players abandoned their team during the bowl to go to LSU? Yeah,
- 57:24right. We gotta protect our college sports. Yeah, we gotta stop paying
- 57:28those players so that Lane Kiffin doesn't go to LSU in the playoffs,
- 57:31right? That's right. Protect our college sports.
- 57:35Ole Miss had shit locked and loaded. They were not fucking
- 57:39around. It wasn't just the players, it was the band, it was the It
- 57:42was the school. It was the social media team locked and
- 57:47loaded. So let me go through this a little bit. Immediately after the game,
- 57:50Ole Miss blasted Garth Brooks' Callin' Baton Rouge through
- 57:54their stadium, one of LSU's signature songs. At the same
- 57:58time, the Ole Miss band played Neck,
- 58:01another song heavily associated with LSU. And then after the
- 58:04game, on a post where they said, just different.
- 58:09Quoting Ole Lane himself, the Ole Miss college
- 58:12football, uh, social media team posted
- 58:16the most chaotic Gen Z, uh, celebration edit
- 58:20I've ever seen in my life. Mocha, will you play that
- 58:24clip? Play that shit.
- 58:31I needed Oxford and Ole Miss a lot more than anything.
- 58:34Juan Lacy is going Mississippi.
- 58:48Wow, that was fast.
- 58:55Fucking A+. Just fucking A+ fever
- 59:00dream level shit on the Official Ole Miss. It was on TikTok,
- 59:04it was on Twitter, it was on Instagram, it was everywhere. Just different,
- 59:08um, genuinely iconic shit.
- 59:11Uh, they also did hashtag Hot Toddy, which is what Trinity
- 59:15Chambliss fucking yelled at Holly Rowe at the
- 59:19end of the game. He like swore, he was like, hot fucking toddy or
- 59:24something like that. He swore on national television. Oh man, it was an absolute scene.
- 59:28And this is what I love.
- 59:31This is what I love about sports is like we can have
- 59:35these diabolical rivalries and moments,
- 59:39right? And it's like the stakes are low. Like, this is not foreign
- 59:43policy. We're not talking about anything too crazy.
- 59:46But some 20-year-old college kid absolutely fucking
- 59:50cooked with that insane video. Big time. Loved it so much.
- 59:55Um, and as the kids say, that shit ate. Yeah, that shit
- 59:59ate. So, uh, and as, and as, um, as what—
- 1:00:03oh my God, I can't believe I can't remember his name right now. The Detroit
- 1:00:06Pistons player. Ball don't lie. Oh,
- 1:00:09fucking, um, goddamn it. Why not
- 1:00:14Billups? No. Um, guys, ball don't lie.
- 1:00:17Fuck. Chat, help us. No, ball don't lie.
- 1:00:21Go let us know who we're talking about. Either way, uh, that's what it
- 1:00:25was. That's what it felt like. It, you know, Ole Miss kicking their ass,
- 1:00:28finishing this fucking amazing ball on line. It was just fucking amazing, man. And,
- 1:00:32and that's, that's exactly what needed to happen. And now that chapter, I feel like
- 1:00:35it closed a portal, right? Like, Rashid Wallace.
- 1:00:39Rashid Wallace. Thanks, chat. We need you at our back. Yeah, Rashid Wallace.
- 1:00:43Um, that's what I feel like every time something like this happens
- 1:00:46is like, you know, it's Ball don't lie is the sports world's version
- 1:00:51of karmic retribution. Or, you know, just like eventually the truth,
- 1:00:55you know, the reality will kick you in the ass.
- 1:00:59And that is what happened. And so I love to see it. Before we go
- 1:01:03to our media corner real quick, fun news,
- 1:01:06positive WNBA, positive WNBA shit.
- 1:01:09Olivia Miles broke Caitlin Clark's rookie scoring record.
- 1:01:13Clark's mark had stood since 2024 when she passed the
- 1:01:17744 points Simone Augustus scored in 2006.
- 1:01:21Miles matched Clark's total in 39 games and passed it in her 40th.
- 1:01:25Clark also did it in her 40th. Um,
- 1:01:29on June 4th, Miles hit 8 3-pointers.
- 1:01:33Yeah. Uh, against Golden State, one more than Clark's best. She then
- 1:01:37became the fastest rookie to reach 350 points, 100 rebounds, and 100 assists,
- 1:01:41doing it in 21 games. So Miles entered Sunday averaging 19.7
- 1:01:45points, 6 assists, and 4.7 rebounds. And yes,
- 1:01:49she is the 5th player in league history with 20+
- 1:01:53points and 5+ assists in a, in a first game. Like, she's done a ton
- 1:01:56of— she set a ton of rookie records. She's also an MVP finalist
- 1:02:01in, you know, in most circles. So here's the thing.
- 1:02:05Do I think this says anything about how good Caitlin Clark's rookie season was?
- 1:02:08No, what I think people always were trying to tell people during Caitlin Clark's
- 1:02:12rookie season was that like, this is where women's basketball is at. Like, it is—
- 1:02:16like, the whole thing about women's basketball is that an investment
- 1:02:20is what— this is what happens when investment exists. Yeah. So the
- 1:02:24more money that's put into youth women's sports, the more likely it is that women
- 1:02:27begin to rise in youth— in women's sports.
- 1:02:31Uh, the, the talent level is is all about—
- 1:02:36the talent level we get to see is all about the investment at the younger
- 1:02:39years. And that's what we're seeing now, is that there's very likely that Olivia Miles
- 1:02:43will— her— that her record will be broken in the next couple of years.
- 1:02:46Um, and so it's, it's, you know, when everybody acted
- 1:02:49like Caitlin Clark was like the greatest,
- 1:02:52craziest talent we'd ever seen, there were a lot of us who were like,
- 1:02:56I don't— it's not that she's not great, it's just that this is not the
- 1:03:00anomaly think it is. Um, and so it's— there's a twofold
- 1:03:04thing here, which is that Caitlin Clark is a great player in her own right,
- 1:03:06and Olivia Miles is proving that, like, the state of women's basketball is that we
- 1:03:09are now in that space that, that men's basketball was
- 1:03:13in 30 years ago, where shit was just coming— it was just becoming
- 1:03:17a new thing. What do you got? I got that you are right.
- 1:03:20Listen, I think this is just a trend upwards in the WNBA and for women's
- 1:03:24basketball. You're right, investment is what leads to this. I'll give you, I'll give you
- 1:03:28a real practical example. Um, I don't say this to shit on
- 1:03:31old school baseball because technically I'm even shitting on myself.
- 1:03:34The players that play baseball now are so much more physically gifted,
- 1:03:38so much more talented. I feel this way about literally every sport than we—
- 1:03:42than my, than my generation. I recently retired. Same in
- 1:03:46football, same in basketball, same in soccer, outrageous, same in hockey.
- 1:03:50The, the level of physical fitness is
- 1:03:54nuts. And it's— and again, like, I do also
- 1:03:58think that, like, if, if a bunch of today's players had to play
- 1:04:02and train under the conditions and under the, the medical establishment
- 1:04:06of the, like, the numbers might be similar. It would be like— it's— everything
- 1:04:10is relative. Yes, it is. That if Barry Bonds was born
- 1:04:14in 2001, he'd be a fucking nightmare, just like he
- 1:04:17was when he played. Like, I don't think that it changes the greatness,
- 1:04:21but But to your point, but it's just we've learned so much about training.
- 1:04:24Like, I would tell people, oh my God, now I'm thinking about Barry Bonds being
- 1:04:26born in 2001, and I'm like, I don't want to think about that world.
- 1:04:28I know he would be fucking destroying everybody. Um, it's just
- 1:04:32what we've learned in medical science and sports science and sports medicine,
- 1:04:36and then get away from the medicine, just in sports training. Like,
- 1:04:40what we've learned in weightlifting over the last— so when I was in college,
- 1:04:43it was all about Olympic weightlifting. And by the way, Olympic weightlifting has
- 1:04:47its merits. It's, it's a type of, you know, deadlift, hang clean
- 1:04:50type of thing. Basically CrossFit. You're right, that was such a big deal
- 1:04:54when we were younger. So big. So when 2005, 2009 was when I was at
- 1:04:58UCLA, it was all about getting just really strong. But here's the thing,
- 1:05:02it was a little short-sighted. Not the strength portion, because they were right
- 1:05:06about a portion of it. It's like, it's like they, they, they thought they knew
- 1:05:09exactly what— Olympian, go!
- 1:05:13Everybody's wrists are getting hurt because of fucking hang cleans. Yeah,
- 1:05:16all of a sudden they kind of retweak it, and then becomes this more minimalist
- 1:05:19thing for a couple years. Yeah. And then it gets back into, no, fucking,
- 1:05:23you gotta lift big. And they just figured out the proper ways to lift.
- 1:05:25That's why everybody— they're like, what if you lift weights and do Pilates and yoga?
- 1:05:29Completely. And it's like, that's why everyone now throws 105.
- 1:05:32Now your body breaks down because your ligaments just simply can't keep
- 1:05:37up. You also have to throw a pitch every 15 seconds. Every 15 seconds.
- 1:05:40So you're not really getting any more recovery time. Yeah. But Also, the funny thing
- 1:05:44is hitters— like, the hitters' numbers have gone down.
- 1:05:48Hitters haven't gotten worse. No, pitchers have just gotten so much better.
- 1:05:52By the way, and by the way, I, I know that you don't necessarily
- 1:05:56agree with this. I still think— I think hitting will catch up. I think maybe.
- 1:06:00I think to a point. I think they're going to change the rules to make
- 1:06:03it happen. I, I— you know, maybe, maybe you're right, but it always— it
- 1:06:07feels like there's always an ebb and flow. And the other thing that people don't
- 1:06:09talk about is the— is what we know now about diet, about what
- 1:06:13you are ingesting in terms of the, like, the drugs that you put into your
- 1:06:17system. Not even just like a steroid thing. Oh my God, no. Just— I mean,
- 1:06:20first of all, baseball players don't do like fucking speed balls anymore.
- 1:06:24Very good for you, by the way. Greenies— I, I have so many stories about
- 1:06:27greenies. I don't— I, I only saw them for the first time I was playing
- 1:06:30in Mexico. Yeah, yeah. And when I first saw my first greenie, I was like,
- 1:06:32oh my God, this is what all my managers were talking about. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:35yeah. So like everybody's just— Greenies are speed, by the
- 1:06:38way. There was like, I mean, before there was methamphetamines
- 1:06:42and like the way that they were doing it, there's always been some level of
- 1:06:45speed being ingested by NFL and MLB players. Yep. Right. So like
- 1:06:49it was, it was, you know, very famously in the '80s, every team in the
- 1:06:52locker room had 2 pots of coffee, the green pot and the non-green
- 1:06:57pot. If you wanted to be up for a couple of days, you drank the
- 1:07:00green pot of coffee. And also in the '60s, the Yankees
- 1:07:04were doing cocaine all the time. Like, read the book
- 1:07:07Ball Four, read about all the shit Mickey Mantle was fucking doing. And by the
- 1:07:11way, I'm not gonna— I'm not gonna say on air
- 1:07:15that I know how it feels, but I can tell you right now, I think
- 1:07:19I could hit a baseball better on cocaine. I believe
- 1:07:23you would believe that. Yeah. Um, I'm— no, it's not that I— it's not that
- 1:07:26I believe it. It's literally— I mean, like, MLB players have talked about it.
- 1:07:29It— because especially when you need to, like,
- 1:07:32really focus in on something and have, like, a specific level of
- 1:07:37enthusiasm about the task at hand, it actually
- 1:07:41genuinely does help you, like, zoom in and zone in and focus. So I fucked
- 1:07:45up. I should have done cocaine my whole career. I mean, it would have,
- 1:07:48you know, maybe you would have hit, like, a couple more bombs. You were a
- 1:07:51very good hitter. It wouldn't have turned you into, like, a better fielder. It would
- 1:07:55have been hitting and pitching. You don't know that. I would have been so focused
- 1:07:57at first base. Like, hit me the ball, hit me the fucking ball. I'm so
- 1:07:59fucking ready. I'm gonna go any direction. I'm up here, I'm up down here,
- 1:08:02fucking ready. Let's go. Maybe, maybe you're right. I do— I had a— I did,
- 1:08:05I did play for a guy who told me a story about, uh, doing blow
- 1:08:08in the All-Star Game in the '80s. And he said, I was in the bullpen
- 1:08:11and we weren't supposed— I wasn't supposed to play, and then I got a call
- 1:08:14down. He's like, hey, you're in the game. And he's like, what? What do you
- 1:08:16mean I'm in the game? I've been drinking since 3. I'm hammered. Yeah. I'm like,
- 1:08:20okay, so what do you do? He's like, did 2 lines of blow and I
- 1:08:22went out there and caught 3 innings. Dude, there are some That, like,
- 1:08:26because what are you guys doing? Because if you're drunk, that's actually probably the
- 1:08:30only way you can. Probably. This is during that time when, like, the '80s,
- 1:08:33where, like, the Mets were all, like, fucking— see, this is like,
- 1:08:36remember that, the— remember Johnny Manziel, how he,
- 1:08:39like, the stories about how he was always absolutely fucking loaded going
- 1:08:43out there? Like, that dude was a full-on alcoholic playing NFL games.
- 1:08:47Um, you know, that's, that's a rare breed this day and age. That's why we
- 1:08:51think the stories are so crazy. By the way, Chance in the chat just wanted
- 1:08:54to say say cheers, gang. Didn't notice the baseball bat mugs.
- 1:08:57Yeah, Cody, uh, he got them engraved
- 1:09:01with our actual names. So I also have ones for guests.
- 1:09:04Yeah, so we, we have the guest ones are straight though.
- 1:09:08They don't have that. They're just normal. They don't have the handle. Yeah, they're not
- 1:09:11as cool as these. We wanted to differentiate ourselves. We needed the handle because both
- 1:09:15of us are prone to spilling. Um, by the way, um, yeah, the chat
- 1:09:19has been absolutely live, very active this entire show, but just so you know,
- 1:09:21and it's been phenomenal to see. Um, what, what can I say other
- 1:09:26than, uh, they're into everything we're saying with the NFL, and of course they were
- 1:09:29really— how do you feel about this? Maybe they'll finally let them use metal
- 1:09:33and composite bats. No, it's never gonna happen.
- 1:09:36Actually, composite, never gonna happen. Um,
- 1:09:39but even, you know, to, to catch up to the pitching, it's not going
- 1:09:43to be that. No, it's— if you make the bats lighter, then you're gonna have
- 1:09:47to It's going to take a lot of technology because to make the bats similar
- 1:09:50to wood, I don't even know what you'd have to do. So like,
- 1:09:54I'll tell you this, 2 years after I left UCLA, um, they changed
- 1:09:57the metal bat policy and they made it this new thing called BB Core.
- 1:10:01And they were just dead bats. They were dead.
- 1:10:04Completely dead. Would they put cork in them? No, no, they like put like some
- 1:10:07metal strip on the inside to like deaden the bats a little bit. Because I
- 1:10:10will admit the bats were getting a little ridiculous. A little springy. A little springy.
- 1:10:13So they did this to kind of fix it, like somehow, and it was an
- 1:10:16overcorrection. It was a serious overcorrection. It was like, okay, now this shit's not getting
- 1:10:20to fucking outfield. Yeah. But then I remember I went back to UCLA my first
- 1:10:23offseason. I just finished my whole first season of pro ball where I was hitting
- 1:10:26wood, hit a bunch of homers, had a great year. And I came back like,
- 1:10:29yeah, yeah, these bats are so dead, decked. They're like, they're worse than wood.
- 1:10:33I'm like, okay. So I grabbed one and my— the one of the coaches at
- 1:10:36UCLA is like, go take one and hit BP. And I hit the next 5
- 1:10:39balls like out into the the trees. Yeah. And I just looked at him like,
- 1:10:42seems fucking fine to me. I'm different.
- 1:10:46I— yeah, just like Lane Kiffin. Me and
- 1:10:50Lane Kiffin, we different. You know who else is different these days? That's that,
- 1:10:54Tanya. Tom Brady on a broadcast. Fucking nailed it.
- 1:10:57Piss missile on a goddamn broadcast. So Tom
- 1:11:02Brady is in his frat bro era on the Fox call.
- 1:11:05Do we love it or it or hate it, let's get into it. Here's the
- 1:11:08thing, Tom Brady, we've gone through a lot with this man. And since
- 1:11:12the year of 2000-ish, he's gonna— he's gotten a lot through
- 1:11:16himself these last couple years. He is, uh, I, you know, I made a video
- 1:11:18about this, I posted it to TikTok where I was talking about it, and I
- 1:11:21was like, you know, Tom Brady was like— the thing that
- 1:11:25I've always understood about him is that he was never meant to be as famous
- 1:11:28as he is. He's, he's just not built for it. He's too weird.
- 1:11:31He cannot like resist the need for all of the attention. He gets into
- 1:11:35pseudoscience. He marries a supermodel. He can't handle it. They break up and then he
- 1:11:39can't handle the breakup and he's like a bad dad and whatever. But in the
- 1:11:42meantime, the whole thing, the only thing that ever fucking matters that ever is consistent
- 1:11:46is how much this motherfucker loves football. Do you know how much you
- 1:11:50have to love football to be coached by Bill Belichick for 20 years and
- 1:11:53actually know about as much about football as he does to actually
- 1:11:57get along? To actually be held accountable
- 1:12:00by somebody when you're the best quarterback in the fucking world. That guy loves
- 1:12:04football. And so for me, seeing this crazy
- 1:12:09motherfucker get into a broadcast booth and finally be like, you know what,
- 1:12:13I think I'm over the divorce now. I'm about to act like 2002 beer-drinking Tom.
- 1:12:17I'm a frat bro. I'm not cool.
- 1:12:20I'm the weird guy at the frat party
- 1:12:23watching football. I just happen to be a savant at it with 7 Super
- 1:12:26Bowl rings and start swearing
- 1:12:30on broadcasts and calling Dak Prescott
- 1:12:34passes an absolute piss missile.
- 1:12:38This man said— this man said, oh, shit,
- 1:12:41on a national NFL broadcast, which means it is the most live— the
- 1:12:47Fox Game of the Week, right? One of the most watched
- 1:12:51live broadcasts on television. He said, oh shit, the FCC's
- 1:12:55pissed now. And then he follows that up later on calling
- 1:12:59a pass an absolute piss missile.
- 1:13:03So here's the thing. You asked the question at the beginning.
- 1:13:06Love it or hate it. Love it or hate it. Today and
- 1:13:11only today, I love it. How come? Love it?
- 1:13:16Like, do you— I loved this weekend. I thought he actually called a very good
- 1:13:20game. So he has been getting rave reviews. He has been really good so
- 1:13:24far, 2 games. And last season this started too. So it started last season.
- 1:13:27He's doing well. There was like a work through— this happened with Tony Romo too,
- 1:13:31um, in reverse, where it was like Tony Romo came in hot and then people
- 1:13:34started getting annoyed. The reverse happened where he was like— Tom was just—
- 1:13:39he was in divorce brain,
- 1:13:41just fully checked out. That's why I really think that he's just He's just
- 1:13:45decided to be Tom because, again, I've, I've known
- 1:13:49this motherfucker. He's— this is who he is. This, like,
- 1:13:53bro who loves football and calls games like
- 1:13:57this is the most authentic version we've seen. I would agree with that. So here's
- 1:14:01my thing right now. I love it. If we get it, if we get it,
- 1:14:04you don't want to see this on the Super Bowl? No, no, no. I actually
- 1:14:06wouldn't be mad if we got that. Okay. Pick and choose your spots.
- 1:14:10Is my thing. He did. No, no, he did. My worry is
- 1:14:14now that piss missile and oh shit are getting rave reviews— well,
- 1:14:17oh shit got him in trouble with the FCC. He actually can't keep doing it.
- 1:14:20Maybe, but piss missile didn't. Everyone's loving piss missile. I don't understand
- 1:14:24how piss missile doesn't get you in trouble with the FCC. Oh shit does.
- 1:14:27I don't know. My thought process here is simply this: just use
- 1:14:31your bullets wisely. Because when he does it, I think it like has him yelling
- 1:14:35piss missile in like an excited moment actually kind of fired
- 1:14:39me up. The best part about it was like an
- 1:14:43absolute piss missile, and I was like, fuck yeah, it was a
- 1:14:46piss missile, Tom! That's what I said watching
- 1:14:51that. He also introduced about 10 million casual NFL fans to
- 1:14:55what a piss missile is, because like there's a bunch of NFL fans who are
- 1:14:58like, a what? So that would be like me going on a national TV baseball
- 1:15:02broadcast and a guy swing and missed it at a pitch. Like, oh, how'd you
- 1:15:06miss that cockshot? It was right there. Hey, if there's anybody
- 1:15:09in the chat that knows how to do the— does anyone in the chat
- 1:15:13know how to do that thing where you look up the increase in a,
- 1:15:15in a phrase search, in a term, like a Google term search?
- 1:15:19I would love to know what the increase in the Google search for piss
- 1:15:23missile has been since Sunday. It's because I— it's through the roof. That's what
- 1:15:26I'm saying. Like, who was Googling that on Saturday versus like Sunday? I can't
- 1:15:30wait for it to Jeopardy question. Yeah, Tom Brady
- 1:15:34said this, which is like a urinating bomb.
- 1:15:38Speaking of which, during Ken Jennings' like Jeopardy,
- 1:15:42uh, like run as host, he does more shit like that.
- 1:15:45Like he's a little looser with it. He is. And so the clues are a
- 1:15:48little bit more loosey-goosey. So that I wouldn't even be surprised if— wouldn't
- 1:15:52be surprised. But no, like, I like to have this right now. I like what
- 1:15:55Tom's doing. My worry is the other thing that you just said about whatever you're
- 1:15:58doing right now is So it is so salty. No, it's not.
- 1:16:01It is so silly. Yeah, you're just— you're like, oh, I'm just so worried
- 1:16:05that he's gonna be like, no, like lean too hard. No, no, no, it's not
- 1:16:08lean too hard. You just said something. He's like, the shit he's been
- 1:16:12doing has been weird, and the shit he's been doing lately, like the modeling shit
- 1:16:16and like the weird outfits and like— well, he— yeah, yeah, like when he was—
- 1:16:18he is like poser. Yeah, yeah. So somebody keeps getting in his ear and
- 1:16:22making him do these things. No, but this feels authentic. It does. I don't want
- 1:16:25somebody at Fox, and I could definitely see fucking 9 people in a fucking boardroom
- 1:16:28at Fox, and I know these fucking 9 people, the exact 9 people that are
- 1:16:32in that fucking room, saying, that's great, Tom, do more of that. And then it's
- 1:16:35just gonna be fucking piss missile fucking every fucking play. I don't want
- 1:16:39that. I— the only reason I'm not worried about that, the only reason is because
- 1:16:43this level, it— like, because it is authentic Tom,
- 1:16:46I don't think that like a note from— like, he's just gonna— first of all,
- 1:16:49he's gonna call the game how he's gonna call the game. I hope you're right,
- 1:16:51because right now he's doing great. He's going to call the game. And like,
- 1:16:54by the way, if he was taking notes from Fox, he wouldn't be the only
- 1:16:56fucking national broadcaster saying he likes Jalen Hurts and Caleb
- 1:17:00Williams because Drew Brees is out there shitting on everybody. Sure is.
- 1:17:03Across the board. Oh, Drew Brees has not seen a quarterback since he
- 1:17:07retired. He showed out. That like— yeah, right. Fuck this
- 1:17:11fucking piece of shit. So he's the only one out there actually hyping up
- 1:17:15quarterbacks. Yeah, but I, but I feel you. I hear what
- 1:17:19you're saying. I get it. I mean, like, listen, Tom has to earn people's trust
- 1:17:22and I get that. Um, but if he is capable of staying authentic,
- 1:17:25that is funny as hell. I, I, I've really enjoyed it so far,
- 1:17:29and I hope I get more of it. Um, shall we go over to Ketchup
- 1:17:32Corner? I think we should. I think we should too. And I would like to
- 1:17:36highlight something, and, and Moki, you're gonna have to go really far back into the
- 1:17:39chat, almost the very beginning of the show's chat. And I apologize for doing that
- 1:17:44because I would like you to put up something that the wonderful Mama Fox went
- 1:17:48ahead and said. It was about our 10th chat of the show. Oh my God,
- 1:17:50Mama Fox! By the way, this was a long time ago and there's been a
- 1:17:53lot of chat going on in the chat. Uh, I would like to quote the
- 1:17:57great Andrea Fox: Cody,
- 1:18:01I don't want you near my daughter hanging out with you anymore.
- 1:18:06You had her eating hot dogs and drinking tequila.
- 1:18:11I'm sorry, Mama Fox, I know that's not how you sound, but that's how you
- 1:18:14sound in my head. And, uh, she's like a— she's a— like a
- 1:18:18Midwest grandma. Very much. You're like— you're like a— she's like an old Jewish mother.
- 1:18:22She's like, oh, you think you're so smart.
- 1:18:27That's how I hear you. You don't sound like that. I like how she's blaming
- 1:18:30you for me drinking tequila when I constantly
- 1:18:34drink tequila. Now, what I don't normally do is eat hot dogs at 10:30 PM.
- 1:18:38That is true. I will say that. But that's not your fault. That was my
- 1:18:40choice. I was like, hot dog at 10:30 PM. I loved
- 1:18:45it. I put peppers and onions on it. So we went to— Cody,
- 1:18:49you were generous enough to invite me as your guest to
- 1:18:54UCLA. Yes. Versus Purdue. Yes.
- 1:18:58And you have these amazing tickets, seats, the whole deal.
- 1:19:02Lots of people are going to get to go with you this season, which I
- 1:19:04love. I'm going to— I might make some adjustments because after the weekend we just
- 1:19:08had, I'm going to have to break a few people's hearts. Yeah, well, Mom,
- 1:19:10I'm I'm sorry, you can't come. Tanya's gonna come more games. So yeah, we,
- 1:19:13we are, uh, we had quite a time.
- 1:19:18I will say, before we get into— wait,
- 1:19:21what do you got? Nothing. Your mom, your mom's not mad at me. She's claiming
- 1:19:24she's laughing, but I think she's just fuming at me. No, she's laughing. Thank God.
- 1:19:29Um, please don't hurt me. I want— before we get into the details of how
- 1:19:32this night went, what our seats looked like, this amazing time, I would like
- 1:19:36you to tell the people Which one of us was more popular at the game?
- 1:19:42This is not a fair question because I think this is all a matter of
- 1:19:45perspective. Now, I was very popular at the game.
- 1:19:49Were you? But I will— yes, I was.
- 1:19:52But, but I was not given free shit
- 1:19:56at the game. Oh, I'm sorry. The person who runs
- 1:20:00the facility wasn't, wasn't your fan. They were a fan of me. I wasn't
- 1:20:05given free shit. That's interesting. Actually, I was eventually given free shit.
- 1:20:08It, but it was like a consolation prize. He realized he gave it to Tanya
- 1:20:12and looked at me, he's like, oh, like, like it was a Make-A-Wish kid.
- 1:20:15No, I think one was just for him, and I think he looked at me
- 1:20:18like I was a Make-A-Wish kid. He came over with 2 caps for us.
- 1:20:21All right, so yes, Tanya was very popular, uh, except I think Tanya
- 1:20:25was— were you annoyed when we were at the first thing before we got into
- 1:20:28the Rose Bowl? Before we get to the Rose Bowl, we went over there to
- 1:20:31the whole tailgate area, and we go to this tailgate area and we're having a
- 1:20:34good time, and this is actually my favorite thing that actually happened Because I bring
- 1:20:37her in. So last week I went to the Rose Bowl and I brought my
- 1:20:39girlfriend, uh, and we went into the same spot, the same place, the same
- 1:20:43bartender. We walk in and the bartender recognizes me
- 1:20:47and looks at— looks at Tanya and goes like, oh, I remember you guys from
- 1:20:50last week, it's great to see you again. I'm like, why? And Tanya goes like,
- 1:20:53I wasn't here last week. I'm like, no, that was me. And she's— no,
- 1:20:56I, I didn't say that. I go, oh no, that was a different girl.
- 1:20:58That was different. Yeah, he's like, that was a different girl. And the look on
- 1:21:01the bartender's face face was that of
- 1:21:05she just ruined a 20-year marriage. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:10It was not like, no, no, she's not the other woman. She's my— she's my
- 1:21:13best friend. Last week was my girlfriend. This is my best friend. Bartender was so
- 1:21:16relieved. Oh, I came back and told her. She, she looked like she just fucking
- 1:21:20ruined everything. So funny. Anyways, as the time, uh,
- 1:21:25persisted, we, we went to the game. And Mocha, can you do me a favor?
- 1:21:28We have a photo of us, uh, just over there, just so you guys have
- 1:21:30a clear cut where we were. That's where we were sitting for the game for
- 1:21:34the majority of the part. But we also have a video of the Rose Bowl
- 1:21:36of where we were actually kind of being a part of that. Yeah, Cody took
- 1:21:39an amazing video. So this is a very real thing. Tanya Ray Fox does
- 1:21:43make a cameo. You'll notice her just chilling right there in the
- 1:21:47thing. That is a video. There we go. Uh, so as you see, we're taking
- 1:21:51you through— this is from the field club, and I'm gonna turn around. There's Tanya
- 1:21:55just enjoying her thing, just tweeting away. And of course the whole field goal.
- 1:21:59An absolute blast. That's where we spent the entire game. Yeah, we didn't even go
- 1:22:03to our seats. Like, we went to my seat. Well, we went twice for like
- 1:22:0610 minutes total. Yeah, not even. Maybe, maybe we're being generous. The second time we
- 1:22:10went, there were other people finally sitting there, and we just went in, like,
- 1:22:14harassed them, tried to make friends with them, and then left. They seemed to like
- 1:22:17us, but we were also very drunk. They did. But every— yeah, we— I— no
- 1:22:21one knows when other people are actually responding to them because they're just annoying
- 1:22:25drunks, or if like whatever. But I think we were charming enough. I think so
- 1:22:28too. But yeah, yes, Tanya was very popular. The head of the Rose Bowl came
- 1:22:31over and started chatting with Tanya, talking about what a fan she was— he was
- 1:22:35of her work. And then she introduced me to him, and then he,
- 1:22:38uh, like gave me a hat as like a consolation prize. He— yeah, no,
- 1:22:41um, we're hoping that maybe we can, you know, continue to talk to him.
- 1:22:44He's actually an awesome dude. He was very, very sweet. So cool. Um, and everyone
- 1:22:48was so— like everyone involved with of this is so cool. But what was you—
- 1:22:51what— let's start. What was your experience like going down into the thing? What were
- 1:22:54you expecting? I, I honestly, I wasn't expecting anything. I literally even—
- 1:22:59I— this is not no shade to you. You like, you were having a very
- 1:23:03hard time describing it to me. I think you're right. But so it wasn't like
- 1:23:06a you thing. I'm not sure I would have done any better, but I just
- 1:23:09was sort of like, you said it's cool and awesome and that I'm gonna love
- 1:23:12it, and so I just trusted you. I wasn't like, oh, this guy, fucking whatever.
- 1:23:16I, I trust you. You're an LA dude. You don't exactly have like lame
- 1:23:20taste. Like, you understand a good time and what's nice. And so I was like,
- 1:23:24that's whatever. But I had no idea what to expect. And I didn't realize,
- 1:23:27because I've been in so many stadiums, that new thing that
- 1:23:30they're doing in all these stadiums with the walkthrough, uh,
- 1:23:34ground-level luxury area is something
- 1:23:37that I've seen in several stadiums now. We've been through it in like SoFi and
- 1:23:41all these other places. And so I didn't realize that that's like what this part
- 1:23:44was. And I, I mean, I love that. I love that in these stadiums.
- 1:23:47And being a part of it was fucking awesome, dude. It was so great.
- 1:23:51And listen, I'm not gonna lie, we drank our fucking faces
- 1:23:54off. We, uh, we were, we were, we were, we said free food,
- 1:23:58so we are going to pay our money in the liquor.
- 1:24:01Oh yeah, yeah. And we ate plenty of food, make no mistake. We ate all
- 1:24:05the food that was in front of us. The next day I was like,
- 1:24:06Mom, I drank so much tequila and I ate a hot dog at 10:30 PM,
- 1:24:09so everything in my stomach right now is just— she's like, yeah, that's insane.
- 1:24:13But I was like, it was— I, I Literally said it's— it was worth it.
- 1:24:16But if you guys are wondering how drunk— here is a lovely video
- 1:24:19of us being drunk. I told, uh, Tanya we're gonna take a selfie photo,
- 1:24:23and I lied.
- 1:24:26Photo. Pose. Pose better. Okay,
- 1:24:30we haven't found it yet. Keep posing better. Sweet Rose
- 1:24:34Bowl hat. You can pose better.
- 1:24:40The guy that took the picture— this is— I am recording.
- 1:24:44And that's the bad part. Tanya didn't lead with the fucking winner out
- 1:24:48the gate. I didn't. We would have gotten so many more views. I would— I
- 1:24:51was trying so hard to go through every pose until I had to get to
- 1:24:54the boobs. Also, your insane typo was
- 1:24:58even better. Like, so drunk. That was so— Proshmice. Like,
- 1:25:02yeah, yeah, it was so like— and I thought about changing. I'm like,
- 1:25:06no, it was actually perfect. Yeah, it was perfect. Just the
- 1:25:10It was the Bruno Mars, You're Perfect Just the Way You Are. I wanted to
- 1:25:14change nothing. It was so good. It was a blast. And also UCLA played another
- 1:25:17monster game. We had a great time. It was like, yeah, like the UCLA itself
- 1:25:21was amazing. Um, like for the amount of the game that
- 1:25:25I— every time I looked up and actually paid attention to the game, they were
- 1:25:27scoring or something great was happening. Um, we met some
- 1:25:31cool people there. We had a ton of fun. Uh, yeah, I literally
- 1:25:35like Genuinely, I think the only thing, the only thing that was—
- 1:25:38I got insecure about was the fact that there were too many bathroom attendants.
- 1:25:42And every time I went to the bathroom, I was like, I pee so much
- 1:25:45because I drink so much. Like, while I was drinking tequila, but I also drink
- 1:25:48so much water when I drink. And so like, I pee like every
- 1:25:5240 minutes when I'm— so like, I was like, they definitely think I'm doing drugs.
- 1:25:55And I'm not doing drugs, I just pee so much. But like, every time I
- 1:25:59go there and there's so many attendants and they're staring at me, that was the
- 1:26:02the only problem, but that's not a Rose Bowl problem. That's just an in general,
- 1:26:05like, people aren't hydrated enough problem. And now you're judging me.
- 1:26:09You're judging me. Yeah, I went to the bathroom a ton too, and no one
- 1:26:13looked at me. Although I might not— just not— might not— no, it's me projecting.
- 1:26:16I'm like, please don't look at me, please don't. Because like, I, I just always
- 1:26:20think people are like— when you see somebody go back to the bathroom like repeatedly,
- 1:26:23you always— you have to come back again. Like, we— I, I need you,
- 1:26:27honestly. Like, I need you at every Well, but again, I'm gonna—
- 1:26:30apparently I'm gonna hook us up with stuff now too. Apparently, because he was— we're
- 1:26:34talking like, you know, there's concerts there or whatever. So like, we might have a
- 1:26:37whole thing going. You've got your— you've got your UCLA,
- 1:26:40you know, and I've got my just being me thing.
- 1:26:44So there's, you know, this is so fucked. I have zero connection to
- 1:26:49UCLA. So fucked. What the hell? And I'm the one who got us the free
- 1:26:52swag. Such dog shit. But it's a really sweet hat. Yeah, it is a really—
- 1:26:55it's right over there. By the way, we were The funniest part of the night
- 1:26:59was later on in the car on the ride home, because your friend drove us
- 1:27:03home, which he was so nice to do that. But we were wearing our matching
- 1:27:06Rose Bowl hats. I looked over at you and I was like, we had just
- 1:27:09gotten in like a weird little tiff. It was like a 2-second thing that we
- 1:27:12got over. I was like, do you think it was funny that we just got
- 1:27:14into a fight in matching hats? And you were like,
- 1:27:17no, no, you're a jerk. You were like still,
- 1:27:21because like I had already been like, oh yeah, that's my bad. I'm like,
- 1:27:24you know what, I'm drunk, whatever. And you were like, I don't want to be
- 1:27:27in a fight. And I was like, we're not in a fight. And then I
- 1:27:29tried to lighten the mood by that. And then both the other dudes in the
- 1:27:33car thought it was funny, but you did not. No, I wasn't ready yet.
- 1:27:36But now that you think about it, now it's fucking hilarious. Yeah,
- 1:27:39exactly. I was such a sensitive
- 1:27:43little bitch. It was really, really cute though, because you were like, no,
- 1:27:47I'm a big boy. It is objectively funny
- 1:27:50that we were like tiffing in our matching hats. I know, we looked ridiculous.
- 1:27:54It was great. No, we actually— like, it was Such a good time.
- 1:27:57Best, best night. And, uh, yeah, we're gonna do it more. We weren't
- 1:28:02doing drugs, we were just doing— no, we literally were just doing tequila.
- 1:28:07I drank a ton of tequila. I drank way too much tequila. Yeah, I,
- 1:28:09um, I don't do drugs anymore because they're all laced with stuff.
- 1:28:13So, but that's the other thing, like, I, I drink— when I drink, I drink
- 1:28:16tequila and I never get hungover. I drank so much tequila that I'm not like—
- 1:28:19I didn't have like the, the headache thing. I might have had a body like
- 1:28:23hangover the next morning. I, I took me a minute to get out of bed.
- 1:28:26Like, I wasn't ready till like the second quarter of Game 1.
- 1:28:29I was making content at 10 AM. I know, I watched. I was just like,
- 1:28:32what the fuck? I, I woke up that morning watching a,
- 1:28:35um, watching a man fix a houseboat for roughly 3
- 1:28:39and a half hours on social media. It was oddly cathartic. You ever done that,
- 1:28:42Mocha? Just watch somebody do a DIY fucking like houseboat shit
- 1:28:47for like 5 grand? Oh yeah, it's a Classic. So good. Oh, you know what
- 1:28:49I used to do? Have you guys ever— have you guys ever watched, um,
- 1:28:53people build tiny homes? Yes, I fucking love
- 1:28:57that. Oh dude, I want a tiny home so bad. I love that.
- 1:29:00RVs. Mocha, have you seen people build tiny homes?
- 1:29:04I mean, I've seen so much shit on the internet. I've seen so many tiny
- 1:29:07home videos. It's just part of the endlessness.
- 1:29:10There's something about a tiny home. Why is it
- 1:29:15more satisfying though, do you think, than a regular home? By the way,
- 1:29:18yeah, you just— but I love it. It's like space-saving. Oh, I love it,
- 1:29:22dude. When they bring the outdoors inside. Oh, dude,
- 1:29:25when they like turn a balcony in like a little fucking thing into a full
- 1:29:29like— oh yeah, I like that too. I'm just like, that's my shit.
- 1:29:32That— you're talking about doing drugs? That's my drugs. Yeah,
- 1:29:36guys, that's my cocaine. We are old enough that we really don't—
- 1:29:40it doesn't take much. By the way, your mom just can't get over the fact
- 1:29:44that we were arguing in matching hats.
- 1:29:49I told you it was funny. I told you that's funny. It was,
- 1:29:53but I wasn't ready. Mocha, is that not kind of funny that we had our
- 1:29:56magic hats on? Mocha, it's a sitcom. We need to take you. We're gonna take
- 1:30:00you, dude. You gotta come with us. Mocha doesn't want to hang out with us.
- 1:30:03Kid in the back seat, dude. You would have so much— Mocha, would you,
- 1:30:06would you want to come with us? Yeah. Yeah, dude. Mocha, there's actually
- 1:30:10no reason for you to not want to come with us. I mean, let's be
- 1:30:13honest, I don't know how we're gonna afford to bring you Well, you, you have
- 1:30:16friends at the Rose Bowl that I can never have. Exactly. Apparently I'm
- 1:30:19your Make-A-Wish friend. Apparently if I say, hey, I've got, I've got a third person,
- 1:30:23any chance, I'm the one who's going to hook us up. You know what,
- 1:30:26you're a fucking jerk. I know, dude, what can I say? Shit hurts when
- 1:30:30you say things that are true. If it makes you feel any better, I'm very
- 1:30:33poor. I haven't noticed. You are quite sensitive.
- 1:30:37What'd you say, Foca? If you haven't noticed,
- 1:30:40Cody, Cody's quite sensitive, dude. So sensitive. I know, you would
- 1:30:44never know he was a Capricorn until you see him after a work shift.
- 1:30:47It's a hostile work environment, what can I say? Oh my
- 1:30:51God. All right, we did it, we did it again. Oh my
- 1:30:54goodness. Uh, we, we need a new person to pick on at the end
- 1:30:58of the show. No, not, not yet, not yet. We're still good until Kurt Schilling
- 1:31:01dies. Oh, okay, good, good, good, good, good, good, good. No, as long as Kurt
- 1:31:05Schilling's still alive, um, it is— well, first of all, we should probably sneak in
- 1:31:08the bloody sock conversation before he kicks the bucket. Yeah, one of the— we should
- 1:31:12do that. Although I guess we could wait until it's a memorial.
- 1:31:17We just do a memorial. Curt Schilling's gone, let's argue about the bloody red
- 1:31:21bloody sock situation. Yeah, well, it's good to have things to look forward to.
- 1:31:25Exactly, exactly. So you know what, I think this is us
- 1:31:28announcing that you will get the bloody sock debate. It's gonna happen when Curt
- 1:31:33Schilling dies. And until then, Like, subscribe, follow,
- 1:31:37do all the things. You already know the drill, you know the deal.
- 1:31:41What was that? Okay guys, we love you. Fuck Kurt
- 1:31:45Schilling. Fuck Kurt Schilling.
