- Sarahn Sankofa: Hello, beautiful people. Today is September the 7th, and today's calendar challenge is rest without apologizing. Ooh, come on now. Lay down. I'm about to go. Lay down. Okay, unapologetically. Sometimes you just gotta lay down. Isn't it crazy? The demands of the world make us feel like we have to be shameful and regretful for being still and resting. Studies have shown that this is the busiest that we've been in centuries as a people, as a society, our brains, our bodies, our energy. It's constantly moving around with all of the demands of life. And sometimes we gotta look the demands in the face and say, I'm about to go lay down, okay? Lay down today, rest without apologizing. And it's really not just about the rest, it's really about not feeling bad about it. Why does shame always have a way to creep into the corners of our relaxation? Like, no, we work hard, you work hard, and you deserve to rest. And not only do you deserve to rest, but it is not a luxury. Rest is not a luxury. Rest is a lifeline. Rest is not the thing you do because you have the privilege to do it. Rest is what you do because it's what you do. It's what you have to do. It's what you should do. It's what you could do. It's what you would do. So rest without apologizing. Enjoy this beautiful day. Just enough is more than enough, Saran says.
