• 0:58
Just been kind of a- We all have, we all have the bird whatever. The coronavirus. Coronavirus. That's nice. [laughs] Ding, a-ding, a-ding, a-ding, everyone freak out. I get coronavirus- I just, just, ugh...
• 1:10
every time I drink Corona. I don't really- Good Lord... care for that beer that much. Just fucking pedal through it, people. I detest that beer, to be honest with you. Yeah, detest? I detest that beer.
• 1:18
It's never been one of my- Well, when they have the Coronita, which is a seven-ounce little version, it's just enough just to, like, I just want a little beer flavor. Little wet your whistle seven-ouncer? Mm-hmm. Okay.
• 1:32
Okay. Exactly. I'm, I'm not with you. No? [laughs] No. Well, whatever. I'd rather have a Miller, and that's really hard for me to say. Oh, that's horrible. Because I don't like that either. Ugh. Yeah. Anyway.
• 1:43
Who are you? I don't think I have the coronavirus, but I have some sort of virus, and I was pissed 'cause, yeah, it's been an ugly week. Yeah, I, I went to, uh, La Crosse- You... on Friday.
• 1:55
Eight, eight hours of driving there and back and here and yon, and when I got done with that, I was not only tired, but I think something just kinda grabbed hold when you're, like, tired. Yeah. Yeah. So. Yeah.
• 2:08
I'm feeling a little better, but still. Every day- Maybe by the time this show is, airs I'll be in great [blows nose] shape. What? [laughs] Okay, and on that note, or several notes.
• 2:20
He's not our color guy for nothing, folks. Yeah. Yes. I'm just saying, there was a lot of poop talk there. Poop talk. So, uh- [laughs] I took Schlabowski out there with me. Yeah. Right arm.
• 2:33
And he stopped at Wyatt Bicycles- Aha... to do a story for the ride guide that's coming out somewhere around April 1st from the Wisconsin- That would be April Fools' Day, everybody... Bike Federation.
• 2:47
I guess they usually have it ready for the Wheel & Sprocket demo- That makes sense... days, which will be sometime the first weekend of April, I guess. Mm-hmm.
• 2:55
Don't really need to pimp that too much, but heckin' A, they sell a lot of stuff there. Yeah, they do. I get overwhelmed every time I go, which is why I don't go. I don't bring money. It's- I just wander around. Yeah.
• 3:06
It is, it, it, it is really fascinating to watch the checkout line at the expo. Oh. Oh, yeah, yeah. Because, man, people buy, wow, everything.
• 3:21
That they think, that, that they think is everything. [laughs] I, I usually go- And I'm like- I usually only bought something ridiculous like tires... I'm like, "Oh." Yeah. I'll get a light. Or a seat. Or a bell. Yeah.
• 3:31
You know, ding, ding, ding. But that's before I realized- Oh, hey, hey-... how expensive good seats are... I got a glove. Yeah. Hey, hey, whoo, gloves. Yeah. I haven't been there- But-... since Cleo was in a stroller.
• 3:40
Let's put it that way. All right. That's been a while. Yeah. She wouldn't fit anymore. Not really. So yeah, we picked up a new, uh, a n- a new black large Wyatt over there. Yeah.
• 3:51
Fancy new, uh, version of the Wren fork, which is now- Yeah... now 505 millimeters axle to crown, so it even more closely resembles the 100 millimeter fork. The Schwalbe shaft.
• 4:03
Speaking of frames, there's some rumor that JK's frame's finally ready almost. Ah. [laughs] There's no way. I don't believe it. Unless there's a calendar year, I don't believe it. Well, we can stretch it out if you want.
• 4:16
No, I... Goddamn it, I want my bug back. I want my bug back. [laughs] Goddamn it, I want French fries. Um, and we got our demo back, too. I delivered the pink, the pink one to- Oh, you get any pictures of that?
• 4:28
Uh, you know what? I took a picture of it at Wyatt, but I forgot to do it when we were here 'cause he just stopped in when we were closed and grabbed it and kinda bailed with it. Oh.
• 4:36
But, uh, I do have a picture of it sitting in the showroom at Wyatt, so I'll- Nice... put that on the old website there. That was a pretty great turnaround for that custom paint. And it l- really looks good. Yeah.
• 4:45
It's pink powder coat. Nice. That is fantastic. You can see a picture of it right down there in the old, uh, show notes probably- Yeah... I imagine. An owl smiling on. It is, uh...
• 4:53
and you can see Wyatt's fancy showroom, too, then. I will. And if you have not checked out a Wyatt Bike, please stop at the shop and check these things out, 'cause they- Yeah... are pr- Are-... pretty pretty...
• 5:01
wonderful. And if you're in La Crosse, LA Crosse- You could go there and go right to the- Yeah... shop. Right. It's actually in Bangor, which is, I don't know- Whatever, and then hit-... 15 minutes outside La Crosse...
• 5:11
hit up Mario with the Beer By Bike Brigade. Boom. Mario. Mario.
• 5:17
We didn't even take any bikes to ride 'cause I knew we were gonna have to throw these in the car and we were coming back right away 'cause I had to deliver it Saturday, so. Right.
• 5:24
I wasn't gonna stay overnight there and ride around, but... Which is just as well. I wasn't, you know- Yeah... really in a mood to ride anyway. Speaking of not riding, JK? No. Not riding yet. No. Dry January.
• 5:37
[laughs] So you have until, uh, Saturday? Yep. I'm gonna... Yeah, that's gonna be the launch. I, I mean, I could ride, but- The wing is back in action sorta? Kind of. Look, it's up here. Oh, well, yeah. Yay.
• 5:49
He can raise his hand to answer a question. Yep. Yeah, yeah. Excuse me. Excuse me. And I can... But, [laughs] oh, Charlie, my thumb. [laughs] Yeah. It's a little- They, they took- It's- They didn't, they didn't take it.
• 6:01
They just broke it. Yeah, yeah. It's just not load-bearing, so. Copy that. So, yeah So nobody then went to Frosty Hog either, I take it? I did. Oh, did you?
• 6:13
I went down there, yes, and- Give us a race report there, Michael Um, it looked like good time. Saw the Mike and Berta. Berta was on steed. Yep. Mike was on steed. Did you see the Zito? Uh, no.
• 6:28
But he did, like, a couple laps and then had to open, uh, tonic for- Right... TriTonics. TriTonics at Tonics, the- Which I-... w- the last Sunday of the month or something. Yeah. Fourth Sunday of the month, I think.
• 6:43
Something like that. But yeah, you said he did two laps and then had to, to roll out of there. Nice. I was, uh... You know, it, it was sloppy. Oh, yeah. It wa- i- yeah, it was [tongue click] mm-hmm.
• 6:53
At least around here it was sloppy. I assume it was sloppy over there. It's not very far away, but, uh- Right, right Oh, yeah, because, yeah, they were doing, like, cyclocross and they're [sighs] just- Chewing it up.
• 7:04
Oh, yeah. [laughs] It was at- Like, the, the s- It was at Humboldt Park this year, right? Yeah. The smart, the smart ones just, like, went off and just ran it all the way up the hill. [laughs] It's like why? Why?
• 7:16
Why even try? [laughs] Why am? Well, that's a skill there, running up hills. Yeah, with a bike and shoes. It's a useful bicycling skill. [laughs] Yeah, especially if you're a cyclocross person. True that. Well, yeah.
• 7:29
You- You know? Don't be stubborn and then going, [in gruff voice] "I can go all the way up this fucking hill, I tell you. I tell you."
• 7:36
It looked like, uh- Or, hey, no, uh, it's just- It looked like Legs & Liver Giver- Me... was a good time, too. I heard. I think, uh, Jeff was there. Scanlon came by- Yeah, I saw a picture, yeah...
• 7:45
on Monday and talked about it a little bit. And I saw a bike with, a fat bike with green wheels, so I'm gonna assume Dave Lunz was there. Yeah, I believe that was one of the plans.
• 7:54
[laughs] And, and I don't know if you guys checked out Kelsey's picture on Facebook, but- Mm. Holy cow, did she take a digger. Yeah. Oh, really? She- Nice... on her way home she hit some black ice- Face plant...
• 8:05
and she looked- Yeah, she, she had a face plant. She's okay, but, you know, we're all, we're all rooting for you, Kelsey. I am. But holy crap, you went down hard.
• 8:13
I think along with not feeling great, I've been avoiding Facebook too. Mm. So maybe that's why I'm getting better. [laughs] Oh, sorry to have it. But we're here for you- Right... to report of what you missed.
• 8:26
A whole ton of stuff coming up this week. On the, on the Facebook. Yeah. We'll talk a little bit later. But, uh, uh, mid-February Tony and I are going to CABDA. CABDA. Did you get your, get your sign up thing? I didn't.
• 8:39
Did you send it to me? Should've been. Where? Should've gone to your, uh, your email. Where is the CABDA? Somewhere down there in Chicago, Landville. It is a- McCormick place?
• 8:49
It's not at McCormick and it's not at Rosemont. It's in sh- it's in, uh, Shannon messaged me. It's in- Rosemont... Schaumburg, Illinois. It's just nor- Yeah. It's in the Chicago- Oh, it's gonna be nice...
• 9:00
it's in the Chicago circle. Yeah, it's gonna be a piece of cake. Yeah.
• 9:03
So if, uh, anybody wants us to check anything out there, uh, leave an- Grab me a- Leave, leave, leave a question in the show notes and we'll- Grab me a crate case... leave a comment and we'll see what we can see.
• 9:11
He asked me if we were going the night before, 'cause I guess there's some sort of partay, but- Well-...
• 9:15
I said, "No, I think we're just gonna sit down and just-" Yeah, probably just gonna sit down and sort of just- There's a White Castle somewhere next to you, so. It's- Yes...
• 9:21
there's at least one on the way down, no, no doubt about it. So I need 10. Never had a White Castle. I need 10. Whereas in the past [laughs] I would have been all specifically looking at fat bike stuff- No, no...
• 9:31
I will now be looking at not only F bikes, but E bikes. So we've got the- And double F... freaking fat bikes? [laughs] Folding- Folding... bikes. Fat. Fat bikes. E. And maybe folding fat bikes, and E folding fat bikes.
• 9:46
Folding E fat bikes. Yeah. FEF? Yeah. I'm not s- EFF? You know, I think, uh, I think folding bikes would, would be a lot more popular here if we had a- You said...
• 9:56
transportation infrastructure like they do in Europe, where you're- Yep... you're using a train or a bus a lot more than people. Multimodal. I don't see a reason for it unless you're traveling though, right? Right.
• 10:05
I mean, you're not just gonna ride one around town for the heck of it. Oh, I have. I know you have, but- But, you know [laughs]... that's not the norm. [laughs] No. I'm just a weirdo. I know it's you. I know you- But...
• 10:16
have to [laughs] do weird stuff like that. Um, so yeah. The normal fucking shit is done doing that. Not doing it every day. And I know. I'm, I'm, I'm hoping that Dahan's there. That would be cool. It is gonna be there.
• 10:29
Yeah. So that's- Or they are gonna be there... that's definitely worth checking out. Speaking of electrics, the, uh, Tristan built that wheel up today, so- Oh... it's all ready.
• 10:37
Pardon me, non-listener, while I put my headphones down. Now with lack of, uh, one cable to connect the motor to the controller. [cable rattling] What? What are you doing, s- tripping on cords and stuff over there?
• 10:47
Steady now. Take it easy on the equipment there, sir. Oh, yeah. See, that's where you're supposed to build that wheel. Yeah, exactly. That's why you're supposed to build that wheel.
• 10:53
See, it works better if you had, if you had the headphones and microphone on. He could've walked all the way over there with- You could [laughs]... his, uh, long cord instead of tying it around his shoe. [laughs] Geez.
• 11:06
All right, I got my headphones back on. Tony's like- Up and I unplugged them. [laughs] Tony's like Mr. Noise Maker with the crumply, crumply phone sound. There you go. Headphone sound.
• 11:14
[microphone rustling] So there's that. Oh, that's, that looks great. Yeah, we're one cable short of having our first E-bike built. One cable. Thanks a lot, [laughs] Corin.
• 11:24
Well, you think if it's a front- Was that the one that you-... a front hub kit they would include it. And they, it is the ready to ride kit after all. Yeah. So it's al- So right now it's almost ready to ride...
• 11:32
almost ready to ride. We'll get that squared away, hopefully by next show, I hope. It's only been a month and a half now. Yeah. I'm excited. That's, that's a beefy wheel. That's,
• 11:42
uh, that, that's gonna be really fun to... You know who we should have come in? Who? Who? Sam. Sam. Sam D? Sam. No, Sam- Wiki Wiki Wiki? McMahon. Oh. He's like 300 pounds. Oh, wheelie Sam. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 11:56
He'd be a great guy to test on. No wheelies on the- No, uh, yeah. No wheelies in the house. [laughs] Not, not with, like, a 13 pound front- Front wheel... hub motor [laughs] on it. [bell rings] Let me try anyways.
• 12:05
Oh, top of the hill. Top of the hill there now. Top of the hill. Top of the hill. Uh, we're at the top of the hill, and we're sampling some- Elys- Elysian? How do you- [laughs] Elysian- Elysian...
• 12:18
Elysian Fields Space Dust Yes, this is- IPA This, this is worth it It's another very creative label, that's for sure. This is where- Yeah, it's a big old hoppy thing. Yep. And he's blowing dust. Blowing dust.
• 12:32
Yeah, this is where the gods hang out and relax in their- I like the-... Elysian Fields. It's very nice for it. All right, Mr. Mike Mover. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] This is a big one. I'm gonna take a big swig of it.
• 12:48
This, this is a big one, man. 8.2. It is very tasty. It is incredibly tasty. Another one. It's not, it doesn't taste like 8.2. No. Do you know why?
• 12:58
Because it has- Because it says right here, "The hopping is pure star glow energy." Yeah. I feel star glowy. Chinook to bitter and late and dry additions of Citra and Amarillo hops. I dig it. It's really good. It is.
• 13:12
I'd drink that again. Yeah. In fact, I will, 'cause we have another bottle in the fridge. That's right. Two of those hops grow in my backyard, by the way. Really? Ah. Yes. Which, the Citra and...? And the, uh, Chinook.
• 13:23
Nice. That's awesome. Chinook was the first hop I ever planted. Stuff's like crazy. [laughs] That really sounded weird.
• 13:30
[laughs] It, it literally like, it, it was so much fun to grow 'cause you'd come home from work and it had grown a foot. You're like, "Whoa, what, what happened?"
• 13:38
Yeah, you put the trellis by the garage and- Yep, and had to trim- Yeah, yeah... it all down. Yeah, fun stuff. Growing like a weed, as they say. And that's 'cause it pretty much is. Or like a bud.
• 13:47
Yeah, well, that's pretty much it, too. Uh, Uncle Gomez hipped me to a thing just before we went on the air here, which is, I guess I would call it sad news. Um, via Tim Krieger's, uh, Facebook posting,
• 14:03
he got a letter from, uh, the, the folks at Dirt Rag, Maurice and crew, saying that after 30 years of publishing and 10 years of putting on mountain bike events, they're shutting the doors. Whoa. Dirt R- Dirt Rag is?
• 14:18
Dirt Rag is no longer gonna dirt rag. Oh, no shit. I actually had pinned a couple fucking articles. I- For the show too.
• 14:26
The- Yeah, I'd, I'd heard, I don't know, maybe a month ago that they were gonna stop doing the print end of it,
• 14:32
but apparently the stool built of the three legs of website, magazine, and, uh, events cannot stand [laughs] with one of the legs gone, so. [laughs] That's usually how it works. Fair enough.
• 14:43
Yeah, so that's really a bummer because if, if anybody did a really good job of capturing kind of the, the, the- The rad, the gnar... irreverence, the- The gnar... yeah. Yeah. Yeah. A little bit of the gnar...
• 14:55
of, of being a mountain biker and of a certain type, uh, Dirt Rag did a great job of it, and I'm glad they were able to do it for 30 years and I'm bummed that it doesn't work anymore.
• 15:05
I didn't delete my emails, so I can reference at least the emails. Yeah. Well, you know what? Just so that- I wish somebody would keep the site online for just, uh, legacy purposes.
• 15:16
Maybe they'll figure something out for that. Yeah, but... Yeah. 'Cause who doesn't like reading about old school mountain bike reviews? Mm-hmm.
• 15:23
I just saw a goddamn picture of fucking Stacy Peralta, which I don't ever think of as being actually a skateboarder, but, like documented skateboarders. Oh, yeah. No, he was definitely.
• 15:35
When I was, when I was skating- But one of those things-... he, he was the man... where I'm going, like, I'm like- One of the men...
• 15:39
"Okay, now you remind me of this and this and this and this and this and this and this, and ugh." Yes, we need these remembrance touchstones. Yeah, I was a Paolo Peralta team rider back in the olden times.
• 15:50
The Bones Brigade, uh- I had a Ray Bones Rodriguez, several. Wow, nice. Yes. Yes, none of which survived my- Well-... repeated smashing into them out of the pool and stuff like that.
• 16:01
[laughs] 'Cause you were doing it right. Well. They weren't supposed to survive. [laughs] I don't think I had the, uh, finesse that a lot of other people did to- No shit, dude... make their decks last.
• 16:10
I, I was all good on fucking BMX, and then everyone fucking went to skate, and I'm like, "Ugh, no." But, uh- My, do you remember Sky Hooks? My, my, my shit didn't catch. Remember Sky Hooks?
• 16:22
Sky Hooks, like Kareem Jabbar doing the- No... the basketball maneuver? They had...
• 16:26
They, they mounted on the, in the outside edges of your skateboard so you could grab the board without having to, like, flip it in the air with your, just your feet. Oh, on, uh, on the Variflex?
• 16:34
Yeah, you could just, you just- On the Raz Tat Variflex?... shift your feet out and you could jump over curbs and stuff on them. You'd look really cool even though you weren't that good. Like po- That was me. Yep...
• 16:41
like power grips for your skateboard? Pretty much. [laughs] Dude- You'd, you'd be, like, locked into them... it was, it was- It was badass. They were cool...
• 16:47
speaking of power grips, if, uh, anybody needs a pair of power grip pedals- Yeah... we still have a set that I don't know how they ended up in the shop here.
• 16:53
They're a lot cooler than what I'm talking- Sold them to a guy and then he brought them back. Oh, right on. Yeah. Yeah, Tony's a big power grip fan. I love my power grips. I got three pair, four pair. Oh.
• 17:01
Well, how about five? [laughs] Let's, let's add, add it up. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12. Um- 11, 12. [sings] What is that? Miss that band. What band is that? Little crunchy things.
• 17:15
Pointer Sisters. Little... [laughs] No, it's the Pointer Sisters doing The Electric Company. Yeah, The Electric Company. Oh, right on. [laughs] Yeah.
• 17:22
Yeah, there's some, some good, uh, covers of the old Schoolhouse Rock stuff. There's a whole Wisconsin cover CD of that. W- Wisconsin band's doing them. They're great. Yeah, those were fun. Yeah. [sings] I'm just a bill.
• 17:34
[sings] Yes, I'm only a bill. [sings] And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill. [sings] Well, now I'm off to the White House where I wait in a line. [laughs] Oh, that's one of my favorites. Yeah.
• 17:46
[sings] Gonna get spit on by a jackass right now. Yeah, so. [sings] And if he signs me then I'll be a law. [laughs] Gag me with a spoon. You remember a lot more of that than I do, that's for sure.
• 17:58
[laughs] Um, so yeah, so the Dirt Rag thing, huh.
• 18:02
Uh, if anybody's going to Sea Otter, Maurice is gonna be wandering around out there, and I would give him a hug or a high five or something if I were you, and you saw him, and you knew who, what he looks like.
• 18:12
Just hug- Imagine, imagine I'm Maurice... just hug anyone you see With the 80,000 people or whatever are gonna be out there this year, it's gonna be a- It's gonna be-... a whole lot of hugging. Yeah, there you go.
• 18:22
I would, I would... If I went out there, which I don't think I will this year, I'd bring a mask so I don't get no coronavirus out there. Yeah, yeah, especially 'cause that's where they're flying into, right?
• 18:30
Right around the area. Let's hope there's not a lot of, uh, people flying into KABDA. Yeah. Well, yeah, that kind of...
• 18:36
Well, I, I, I figured out what, like, that little flight plan that they were- We should get masks and put Corona logos, like the- Yeah... Corona logos, like- We should do that. I think that's a good idea.
• 18:47
Just, yeah, masks that say, "I'm infected, kiss me." Well, I'm so- No, just be like a no corona- Like when I-... it's gonna boycott a- When I worked in, uh- Da, da, da, da, mama- When I worked in Las Vegas-...
• 18:56
no corona... at the CES show, a lot of the, the people that come over from Asia are wearing masks. Mm-hmm. And I always wondered,
• 19:03
was it because they thought they were gonna get sick from us over here, or they were trying to keep from getting- Yeah... us sick from over there? Right. I'm with you. I'm not sure which one of these. Yeah, I agree.
• 19:12
I just know that, uh- Or are they going with the... why is that shit starting over there all the time? Snakes. This one was bats, apparently. I thought it was snakes. Bats.
• 19:20
Well, I'd maybe- Last week you said it was snakes... I, the last I heard, it was bats recently, so. Yeah, bat snakes. Bat snakes. I think anything- Maybe they're bat snakes.
• 19:27
I would've thought a rodent was more likely to transmit- Yeah... something to a human than a snake. Yeah. Maybe. I don't know. Is it, bat's not a rodent, it's a mammal. Well, it's a rodent, too. Is it?
• 19:37
Like, I mean, it's like a rat with wings, right? It's- I don't know... I'd, well, it's [laughs] so we're- Chime in at the bottom of the notes, people. Yeah. Let us know. A, a, a, a rat's also- Yeah...
• 19:46
a, a mammal, though, so. That's true. You gave me a good point there. Yeah, true. A mammal. Right? But anyway, yeah, stop doing whatever kind of weird animal shit that's happening to make this- Yeah.
• 19:54
And stop getting people sick and shit. Right? Although, you know, we're, we're about due for a good pandemic. Haven't had one for a long time. Yeah, you know?
• 20:01
Let's wipe out a, you know, might help global climate warming change. Maybe. My dad had, uh, the Hong Kong flu way back in the olden times. Ooh. And he was down for a couple of weeks with that. It, yeah.
• 20:13
That was one of the first really big ones, I think, at least that I remember. Probably in the '70s. Mm. Maybe the ear- yeah, probably in the s- early '70s sometime, I would imagine.
• 20:23
I just remember my dad being a guy that never got sick, and he was down for the count. Mm. Mm-mm. So, um, yeah, hmm, we did the beer thing. We did the bye bye to Dirt Rag thing. We got some events coming up.
• 20:36
We got events coming up. There's a lot of stuff coming up in, even just in Wisconsin, let alone, I don't know, in your neck of the woods, wherever you're doing stuff. But we got
• 20:44
all this, like tomorrow- Why you looking at me? Tomorrow. Oh. Saturday. Uh- S-A-T-U-R- Lake-... D-A-Y... nights. Lake, uh, Lake Mills has the Knickerbocker Fat Bike Ride hosted by the Hub Cafe and Pub.
• 20:57
That's, uh, Saturday. Seeley, they've got their Big Fat Race up there near Hayward and Seeley, which is where 00 and the Sawmill Saloon are. If anybody- Up-... has ever been to the- Up there, Hay-...
• 21:06
Fat Bike Birkie, that's, that's, like, one of the main hangout spots. That's, uh, 10:00 AM Saturday. That's Vilas County. Is it? Correct? Yeah. Um, Hayward is in- Ish... I believe it's in- No, no, no, no.
• 21:20

Bring us some snow and get us some ice. That's still not technically cold. I mean, I've taken this week, this month off, so I'm kinda selfishly going like, "Hey, you guys- Yeah, no...
• 25:21
haven't been able to play and I can't play either." I'm, uh, uh- No, I'm just being selfish. Speaking of winter- Yeah, thanks for ruining the weather [laughs]... s- speaking- No...
• 25:30
of winter riding, I'm, uh, I'm using a secret bike lube on my chain. I'm not gonna say anything until next week. See how it holds up through the weather. All right.
• 25:38
I can tell you what doesn't hold up unless you reapply it right away. Rock'n'Roll Gold. It's Rock'n'Roll Gold- Holy cow... which is my favorite lube, but- I refilled it, by the way.
• 25:44
I, oh, I s- I was, I saw the bo- uh, didn't you have the box in here or something? Lube. I took it home, but yeah, it was here. Yeah. When did you see it? I was look- On the camera?

• 26:10
Did you watch that video, by the way, from, uh, Grin? Which one? The dude who talks about building the wheels. He's hilarious. Oh, I didn't watch The Wheel Guy yet. Oh, well, you gotta watch that.
• 26:18
I, I watched a few of the other ones, though, with- No, watch The Wheel Guy. He is funny. Man, is he funny, especially the outtakes at the end. He is, he's- I, I-... totally worth watching...
• 26:26
think of all the e-bike places that do kits, they do the best job on the tech side by far, but their website is so hard to get [laughs] on. Oh, my God, is it ever. It's just like... I don't know.
• 26:36
Maybe I'm just used to the way I navigate websites because it doesn't work on theirs. Maybe they do things differently in Canadia. Maybe. Canadia. Maybe. Canadia.
• 26:45
Well, I've learned the site now, so I c- I, I can get around it. Yeah, me too. But, uh, there's... If you need e-bike information, and they're very much hub motor people. They're not- They are very-...
• 26:53
not mid-drive-y people... big about their hub motors. Which- I agree... yeah, if you need e-bike information, um, come to JK11 and- Learn nothing... learn absolutely- [laughs]... fuck all nothing.
• 27:09
And then- Come see us... exactly. [laughs] Well, I just wanna- Well, he's not actually elderly enough- No, I just wanna put-... to really start to think that an e-bike might be a good idea. Oh.
• 27:20
I don't really feel I'm elderly enough. I just love them. Yeah. Oh, dude. You know, you get the same workout- Don't say it... but you do it at 25 miles an hour. God. It's like- Say it... this is so much fun...
• 27:30
don't say it. Well, if i- it, y- it gets you somewhere where you're going twice as fast- Right... which is good. All right. So you had a guy, Will stopped in. A guy yesterday. Mm.
• 27:38
A gentleman, very tall gentleman stopped in and he just happened to wander in. He's like, "Hey, I saw the shop, see you guys got a new store." I'm like, "Well, we've been here a year, actually."
• 27:46
He's like, "Oh, well, I, I live in India." And we're like, "What? Really?" So he flew all the way over here to see our shop? Well, he, yeah. You know, uh- Yeah, boy... he was a Wheel & Sprocket employee.
• 27:56
And, um- They don't have stores in India yet, do they? Uh, no. Yeah. [laughs] But they have a huge... Where he, where he is, and I'm gonna draw a blank as to the name of the, the city, but there's a Trek dealer there.
• 28:07
And he said that they have, um, almost all the Treks that people buy are of, of course ordered. Bangladesh? But they are, um... He said it's opposite of any other bike store, whereas a bike store will sell
• 28:20
10 to 15, you know, lower priced bikes to cover the one $10,000 bike. He said there
• 28:28
they sell, like, a ton of the super high-end Madones and stuff like that because the Indian market is the, the people are fairly wealthy. Ah. Um, but yeah, he came in and he, um,
• 28:43
he was talking about fat bikes, and he actually started a... This is really cool. He started a fat bike, electric fat bike, um- Tour company... tour company. Yeah. Awesome. Uh, and it's a lot of beach riding.
• 28:58
Um, and, you know, just sightseeing. He said a lot of, a lot of Russian f- um, uh- Tourists? Tourists. Thank you. Vacations. You can't open beer and talk at the same time? Apparently not. All right.
• 29:09
You're having difficulties. All right, Gerald, Gerald Ford. But he has, um... [laughs] Did I, uh, did I, did I give you a link to his, the bikes he sells? Yeah, and I didn't see a fat bike there. Prometheus.
• 29:18
They haven't come out on the website yet. Goddammit. Okay, yeah. Corny- Corneous. Cornelius? Cornelius something. No, Prometheus. It's got a C. Is it? Prometheus. Yeah. Okay. I got it right here somewhere.
• 29:28
Is it Cornelius? Anyway, it's, yeah. Prometheus stole fire. Oh, Copernicus. Copernicus. There you go. Thank you. There you go. You know, it was one of those kind of- Um, yeah, it, it-... olden timey people...
• 29:39
and the nice thing is, the guy, he's... The reason I'm going with them, I said, "You know, we are a, a, uh, predominantly American... You know, we believe in American-made bikes and American-made products."
• 29:50
He's like, "I believe- Then why do they sell Treks? He's like, "I..." Well, no, that's what I said about our shop. Oh, right on. And he said, "Yeah, I'm the same way- I don't have a gun poem... only India." Charlie,
• 29:59
they took my poem. So, so he is partnering with this company which is 300 kilometers... It's not done yet. 300 kilometers from where he lives. [laughs] I can just see it going smash.
• 30:11
And he said, like, overnight- Thank you... he should be able to get replacement parts and stuff. It's- Huh. I invited him in.
• 30:16
He's got about two months to get the, the rest of his paperwork in order and stuff to start this business permanently, so he's gonna live there permanently. Oh, I thought he was coming back here.
• 30:25
No, he was, he was just here, he's here while he gets his- Oh, right on... ducks in a row, so to speak, and he's heading right back. That sounds cool.
• 30:30
Hey, speaking of, uh, tour companies opening, I think sounds like Zito's gonna get something going with the guys that own Boone and the Pedal Tavern and all that. Ooh. Um, [laughs] oh, here he comes again.
• 30:41
Here he is, folks. Oh, you know what? I... Did he... Oh, you still got the sunglasses on. Um- Yeah... doing, doing two bike tours in Milwaukee. Well, there's Free Spirit already does that, but- Oh, they're gonna-...
• 30:52
which is right around the corner from them, actually. That's really weird... they're gonna rent bikes and they're gonna do bicycle tours- I think that's a good idea... in a, in a Zito fashion, which,
• 31:01
you know, he's pretty picky about stuff. Yeah. Might be something. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So- We'll see how that works. Hey. That could be cool. Yeah. That could be cool. Well, let's see- Yeah, just, just-...
• 31:07
how that gets going, but it's gotta- Yeah, just hang out-... just gotta ramp up by, you know, April, I would imagine... hang out on the bar with Zito, and then, eh. Are they gonna be e-bikes- Yeah, I'm going out-...
• 31:15
or are they gonna be regular bikes? No, they're gonna be Fixation East Sides, I believe, just 'cause they made a deal with Nick to buy a bunch of Fixations. Milwaukee company, you know. Yeah. Well, yeah, totally.
• 31:26
You know. I, the, what could we get out of here, that there's nothing anywhere in the price range that would make renting a bike a, a good idea. I, I, I'm not saying he should go.
• 31:33
[laughs] I'm just curious as to, you know- Well, I did. I said, "Why aren't we doing Surlys or..." A, a single speed, you know, bike for a bike tour sounds...
• 31:40
I don't know, I think a lot of people- I wonder what we could-... might be disillusioned. I wonder what we could build a role for, with the, with the single speed. Might be a good idea to talk to those guys.
• 31:48
You know they're opening a fourth location down there in Ohio. Oh, nice. And they have- Be a good road trip, actually... I think they have 59 dealers now, so. That's it. Oh, uh, Ohio. Still a beautiful bike.
• 31:59
That's road on both ends and- Ohio means Waffle House. In Toledo. I know it's the nearest one to Milwaukee. It's been a while since- Yes...
• 32:07
I've been to a Waffle House, and I gotta- Waffle House is in Ohio, so- I really like Waffle Houses. Just saying... not gonna lie. If I win the lottery, I'm opening a franchise here in Milwaukee. Mm-hmm. I like that idea.
• 32:19
I think it's a great idea. How do you, how do you get your... But you're not much of a potato guy, and their potatoes are off the hook. I'm not, it's not that I don't like potatoes, I just don't eat them- Oh...
• 32:26
due to the high carbohydrate count in those little bastards. Love those fuckers. [laughs] I could eat, like, a fist-sized chunk of them. Yeah. But that's just not enough potatoes, really. [laughs] No. [laughs] I know.
• 32:36
Not, not anywhere near. That's just getting started. No, that's just enough to piss you off right there. Yeah. You know. Yeah.
• 32:41
You sound like Kenny, like, "Oh, you just gave me enough food to make me angry that I'm hungry." [laughs] All right, Mr. Hollow Leg. Right on. That's what he said. Yeah. I... That sounds like Kenny, too, doesn't it?
• 32:57
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. [laughs] Uh, yeah, I don't know. I think, uh, pretty much about covers it for this week. Uh... How about that? We made it. Visit Everyday Cycles online at everydaycycles.com.
• 33:08
Thanks for all the people that I run into that say- Seven, one... "Hey, I listen to the podcast." Yeah. Believe it or not, there's more people- Keep them all in... than you'd imagine. I, I totally agree with that.
• 33:15
I'm, you know, I'm... People are willing to listen to me for half an hour. That's, that's fucking wrong. I mean, I'm sitting here listening to you- Well, yeah, you listen-... for half an hour. Right? Yeah.
• 33:22
It's always listening to Greg. That's 'cause I bring beer. Greg brings beer. Keep- Or I bring beer. You bring beer. Yeah, yeah. So we're all just sitting around drinking beer. Beers. Beers. Beers. Beers. Beers.
• 33:31
Cheers and beers. I like beers. I like beers. All right. Well, I guess we'll figure out something to talk about next week. Thanks, listener. Hopefully. Post down below if you want us to talk about something. Yeah, that.
